Teabob Abeer here with you as well as
some of the SEC's finest UGA
legend SEC record holder.
We are still monitoring the situation as to
whether or not Will Rogers will choose
to leave Mississippi State and leave those records alone.
but who else could I be talking about?
But the thrice braced and dazzlingly leads,
he has a dazzling smile.
I'm talking about Aaron Murray.
Aaron,
what's up,
dude?
Well,
what's up?
Yeah,
this is heavy,
heavy pump.
Get to the NFL for real Rogers.
So if anyone knows him in the chat,
continue to push it on social media about how he's a first round grade or
first round.
You know what?
We're seeing it over and over again.
Guys are at certain universities.
They kind of get bored of the university.
a law spencer sanders like you know what let me go at the free agency market let me go see if i can go
somewhere else so i honestly think it'd be better for him to get away from the air raid go to more of a
pro style system somewhere else to show NFL scouts how diverse he is as a college football quarterback
so bye bye go go shushu go somewhere else yeah yeah yeah it's a great take uh great self-serving
take there why don't you you know what okay you know who's going to need a quarterback
Kentucky, okay?
You want to go pro style?
You want to play something that's going to look maybe a bit more like the NFL.
Go play for Mark Poops in those Kentucky wild guys.
Let's talk about that in a minute.
Look, many of you, okay, first off, many of you watching it right now may be saying
to yourself, Teabob, that's the exact same sweatshirt that you had on yesterday.
True, true.
But allow myself to fend myself on two points.
First off, this badass snaps gear, okay?
So it's a little built-in advertising.
Go to the merch store.
Snap's 20.
going to get you 20% off. More importantly, Aaron, we both had new babies. I had a new baby last Friday.
She said my wife did my family. Welcome the new human being onto this earth. I still am not
technically back at work yet. That will not start till tomorrow. Meaning I have not had to change my
clothes a lot, right? I've been at home and when you're doing that, you're taking care of the baby.
What do you want to wear? You want to wear something Uber comfortable. So let me say that I am not
wearing this just because it is snaps gear. I am wearing this literally because it is so insanely
comfortable. Like I've been relaxing in it 24-7 around the house. So if you're wondering about
the quality of the gear, let the fact that the new dad who is like not sleeping at all
and trying to maintain premium comfort at all times is wearing this in my own free volition,
it's literally the highest endorsement that I can give to the product. I mean, Aaron, you have one
as well. Would you agree?
Yeah, and I probably wearing mine too right now if I just didn't get off a little pelton and a walk with the dogs.
I'm sweating my ass off still.
So I need to.
But no, listen, I'm a person that I will probably wear a sweatshirt three or four times in a week before I wash it.
If not more.
Like it's a sweatshirt.
It's, first of all, you're wearing a sweatshirt because it's cold outside.
So you're not really sweating.
I wear plenty of deodorant.
So like, it's not like it's getting stinky and whatever.
So, yes, I wear it every damn day of the week, T, Bob.
I ain't going to judge you for it.
If it's cold enough, it would be fine.
we over wash our clothes
I mean we overwash our clothes
you should not wear your underwear
more than one day in a row
we can agree on this
I can actually be a bit more over mind
when it comes to socks
I could be more open mind
if you don't have a sweaty
if you don't have a sweaty foot day
I mean you can never work out
in a pair of socks and rewere them
if you don't have a sweaty foot day
I'm not wholly opposed to you in two in a row
but just know that you're taking a bit of a risk
underwear is a definite no
but pants shirts
like if they don't smell
you don't have to wash them
T Pat who has followed me for years says,
but T Bob,
you wear multiple shirts,
you wear shirts multiple days in a row
more often than when you just have a kid.
Fair.
That is fair.
T Pat.
But I don't know if I have a great fit.
I will say someone who produces a day with show with T.
He has exactly seven shirts.
Thank you.
Okay.
But I mean,
what's the problem?
That is not negative.
That is just,
why do I need more shirts?
I'm really rotate with a solid rotation.
Yes.
Yeah.
So like what I mean,
I go on the road on the weekend to call games.
So this is what I do.
I go on the road Friday,
where the same clothes Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
I get to Wednesday night.
I do my laundry.
And then I repack the clothes that I wore from the previous weekend on my road trip
wherever I'm going.
I mean,
that's just good business.
That's Steve Jobs.
Decision theory nonsense for sure.
It's one of those deals where it's like like I always went to schools where you
had to wear uniforms.
and while it sucked in many ways because you know you wanted to be creative and different and whatnot,
it also was a blessing in many ways because you never really had to think about what you were going to put on.
It was already done.
The thinking was done for you.
Logan Gardner says,
how often should you wash your towels and rags?
I'm kind of a smell test guy with towel.
You have to hang a towel immediately, though.
You use a towel.
You hang it up.
If you don't hang it up, then you can't use it again.
It's going to stay wet.
It's going to get nasty.
Okay.
if you hang it up you could probably get two or three out of that i'm also a big i uh rub my body down
Aaron before i use a towel so like you think of it like you know when you take uh like a wash rag
and you twist it you kind of twist it to get all the water out of it out of there so right when
you stop a shower or bath you tousel your hair rub your body down you get that outer layer of water
off and it makes drawing your body way more effective and trust me
I'm like six four like two sixty five I got a lot of surface area that I got to dry over here and it the the efficiency increase when you give yourself a good swipe is unbelievable try it tonight if you don't believe me try in the shower and you're like goddamn t bob that was some good ass advice I've never I've never heard of that before but I will give it a go and uh and I will I will rate and review it for tomorrow like everyone else should do on our podcast uh but Logan gardener in the chat goes Aaron needs to
a razor getting a little scruffy bro what what do you mean look at teabob how am i getting
what i mean what is this with t bob over there looking like mini santa claus uh just need a little bit
gray i got hair growing up next mile high balls it's an audio medium oh my bad okay you are on podcast
i have hairy cheeks why am i getting ripped over here in the chat for like i'm trying to
look like i'm trying to look older i guess that's a compromise because i i do think i'm looking a little
younger than what I am.
So I will, um, we do need a sponsored by like old spice or something on the show, I guess now.
Yeah, look, I mean, I can't talk shit, dude.
I got this little bitch mustache.
It doesn't even connect to my beard.
I've had so many kids clown me about it.
Like, you're trying to look like Abe Lincoln.
I'm like, hey, kid, relax.
Okay.
I'm doing the most with what I have.
You freaking jerk.
Uh, all right.
Let's talk some college football because ostensibly, that's why we are.
all here. First off,
huge shout out to the
Fandual Sportsbook app. Downloaded today.
promo code snaps. Shout out
to the volume sports network
for having us here. And if you like the pod, share
with your friends. We love you. All right.
We got a bunch of topics here today. Let's go ahead to dive into
topic number one. We talk about declaring
for the draft. We're talking about maybe an
available spot for Will Rogers.
Where did you go? Well, another will, Will
Levis, Kentucky quarterback,
officially declares for the NFL
draft in Aaron. I mean, look, this
makes all the sense in the world. If you are already being talked about a upper first round draft
pick, like you have no more ceiling to increase. And if I'm Will Levis, I mean, I'm count myself lucky
and I'm getting out while the getting's good because I played like shit this year. And I'm still
being considered like a top five, top 10 pick. So it's like, where is the motivation for me to
come back to school, especially when I was just in Kentucky in a year where we thought we were going to
on this huge year that we had. Instead, we end up taking kind of a massive step back.
Like, what else does college have to offer that kid? You didn't even play good. You're still
going to be top 10. Get the hell out of there. Skip the bowl game, start to get ready for the
combine and get ready for your next step. Yeah, but not many times do we see a guy have a worse
year than the previous year and then decide to come or decide to move on to the NFL.
It just shows you how weak this class is. Let's go back to last year's stats, 2021, 24 touchdowns,
13 interceptions right on 66% completion this year 65% 19 touchdowns 10 interceptions.
He's a turnover machine. He's inaccurate times. But but like who is who is going out this
year? Like it's smart by him like he does look the part like he's he's a very pretty quarterback
in a lot of ways big strong physical run he's a giant he's a giant white guy with like some
athleticism. Yeah, that's like he's a giant white guy.
Every that is what every end of the GM slobbers over.
That's what happens when you put mayonnaise in your coffee.
You just get all those attributes that GMs just absolutely want.
So he is a first round talent.
I think regardless of where if this was a strong draft class or not strong draft class,
I think he would,
he's a guy that will show up to the combine and on pro day and will absolutely wow you
with what he can can accomplish on the football field.
So he'll be, I don't think anyone's going to reach for him.
him and say like a top 10 top 10 top 15 pick but i could see him going somewhere in the 20s
maybe your saints get him i don't know uh he's a first round talent he's a first round talented
he's first round talented is he with like or is this is josh allen is this a josh allen
it is a josh allen effect i was not high on josh all and josh on stats were worse than him
with being a part of a lesser league.
So like, you know, my question is like, Josh Allen, you play in whatever conference you play in,
and you can't even complete 60% what gives me confidence that you're going to take the next step into the next,
into the NFL and be an accurate quarterback where I had no confidence in the kid.
And he kind of proved me right for the first two years of his existence of the NFL.
And now I've gone over it.
He's actually my fantasy quarterback this year.
So I appreciate Josh Allen for how good he's performing on the field.
Will Levis is at least a little bit more accurate.
He's been a mid-60s guy.
If you turn on the tape, there's a plenty of good enough throws to say,
okay, that is an NFL-type quarterback.
It's just he needs to get more consistent.
That's it.
More consistency is going to be the key.
Lodin Garner accuses you of doing Botox.
That's hilarious.
I agree.
Look at that little Botox boy.
That's where it's start calling you, Aaron.
Better NFL prospect, Aaron, you grind film.
You know the quarterback position through and through.
Will Levis or Anthony Richardson, who also, in case we miss it, I think we forgot the
Anthony Richardson declaring for the NFL draft out of Florida as well.
Yeah, yeah, I broke this down the Anthony Richardson thing on Monday.
So if you want to get my take on that, go go make sure I broke it down pretty intense,
intently, intensely, intensely, intensely.
Intensely or intensely works.
Yeah, I think they both work.
Yeah, that's what I thought.
I think, I think Will Levis is more ready to go in the next two or
three years. I think Will Lovis is someone that I think a lot of coaches, GMs would actually
feel pretty comfortable making him the starting quarterback as a rookie. I don't think day one,
but sometime during the season, I think they'd be ready to turn over the reins of him.
I think Anthony Richardson is a long-term project. And I said that on Monday, I said again right
now, Anthony Richardson could have benefited from not only one year at college, one more year
at Florida, but I think two more years at Florida. I think he's a guy that once he gets the NFL
is going to need two, three years before he should ever, ever sniff the football field.
So that's the biggest difference.
And if you're going to draft the kid in the first round, unless you're backing up,
you know, Aaron Rogers, what they're doing with Jordan Love there at Green Bay.
Unless you have that plan for him, you better not pick Anthony Richards in the first round
because he will not be ready until like 2025.
See, in a way, though, like if I am a Saints fan, like Anthony Richardson feels more exciting
than Will Levis because you could probably get him
in those later rounds. And it feels like
he maybe could have a higher ceiling.
I don't know. I could agree with Jay Almighty in the chat.
He says, Will Levis is going to get a GM fired.
There's a chance to that happens.
All these quarterbacks this year may get the GM fired, though.
I just be honest.
I'm sorry, like this is not the year to want a quarterback.
You know, do you want Bryce Young, who's 5, 10, 180 pounds?
Love his talent,
but he may get broken in half.
Do you want CJ Strz?
I think CJ's the least riskiest choice of all of them.
Really?
When we have seen Ohio State quarterback after Ohio State quarterback amount to nothing in the NFL?
I know.
I know.
Do you think the guy that feels like the system guy that isn't nearly as athletic in his pocket presence or footwork than Bryce Young is the better project?
It's not like he's drastically bigger than Bryce Young is.
I mean, two is not a big guy.
We're seeing him succeed in the NFL now.
like I would go Bryce Young, no questions asked over any of these guys for the intangibles.
Like we always talk about the pocket presence of footwork.
I'm not saying he's a perfect prospect.
He is undersized.
But if there's ever been a time in the NFL where it's okay to be undersized, it's probably now.
Yeah, but he will be the smallest quarterback in the NFL.
What are really?
There's other quarterbacks about.
Yeah, there's other quarterbacks that are about his height.
Like Tyler Murray's about his height.
He's probably the smallest one out there.
But Kyler's dick.
Tyler's thick and faster and quicker.
Is he really smaller than Kyler Murray?
Is he really smaller than Connor Murray?
Yes.
Yes.
He's thin, he's thin.
He's thin, bro.
He's very, very thin.
And I'm pulling up what CJ Straud's measurables are right now.
CJ is 632220.
So he's not small.
Tebow up.
Jesus, dude.
I don't know.
He feels small.
Okay.
I don't know.
That's something.
Yeah.
I don't know.
He's a good size kid.
He's a great arm.
Accurate.
I think we do get, I think we do get nervous because of the whole Ohio State quarterback.
And I do have something coming out on social media later today, just maybe ripping Ohio State quarterback just a little bit and why maybe he shouldn't be in the Heisman discussion right now.
Did you film it?
Did you film it on your big couch with all your friends?
Yeah, you like my big couch.
She'd go look at Aaron's Players Lounge videos where he's doing a great interview with DJ Shockley, except that for some inexplicable reason, they have chosen to shoot.
Aaron alone like a five not my studio i'm not going to get in the studio like hey move your move your
couch wait just hit a zoom button on the camera i don't know i mean there's okay that's
okay that's right you know that Aaron was getting off an entire c and end panel later
because there's definitely room for them on that big comfy couch what do you you
do i need more feel like the entire no dude it's incredible you could fit the entire big noon
kickoff crew on that couch. That's how big it is. That says something. That does say something.
It is a big. It's comfy though. Hey, hey, nice pickup by big noon kickoff stealing the bear from
game day. How about that? Like, I am not sure at all that anything the bear could do will justify
whatever that cost, but it is like a great petty win from, uh, for they're just trying to rip off
ESPN. That's all they're trying to do. They're literally trying to steal game day. Uh, look at the
I would be surprised at here.
Yeah.
Are you going to defend the mouse, dude?
You know, I think it, I think next is they're going to go after your boy.
What's his name?
Pat McAfee.
Uh, that makes sense.
McAfee is a bit of a unicorn in this space and in a content bidding war.
Uh, the unicorns will, you know, command a very high price.
Uh, he just gets juice no matter what he does do.
He just gets juice.
Um, yeah, we need to somehow.
get ourselves into that bidding war.
Aaron also, if I will never say anything negative about ESPN or Disney again,
like I can be bought.
I'm not a journalist.
I have no ethics.
Disney,
look at me right now.
I freaking love you.
Okay.
My kids love you.
It's at age where like we love going Disney.
If you hook me up in any way whatsoever,
we're good.
Okay.
I'll cover up what I'll carry whatever water you need to.
Yeah.
So this is Aaron on a normal size guy.
So this is why he's on C on a ST this morning on a normal size couch.
Unfortunately, he has a hilarious screen, taking mid-breath.
See, now, now this is fine.
That looks good.
This is shot better.
This is not bad at all.
It's a little better.
It's a great setup, though.
I have a setup.
And then Brum will work on getting us the other size couch.
Oh, don't you worry.
I listen on both Spotify and now here, which is a better metric for the pod.
Listen to everyone, man.
I don't care.
You listen to where everyone.
I, the podcast is doing well.
And so we really, really want to continue to grow the podcast.
Like, we love how much support y'all are giving us.
So just like it, share.
But then even yesterday, we had like 400 viewers live.
And that's awesome, man.
So that's really cool.
So just go ahead and just like it, share wherever.
We're just glad they're spending time with us.
All right.
So that was a little quarterback talk.
Now let's talk about the story of the day.
Who, who, who, who, who.
isn't excited to talk about a little Jeff Brom. Yeah. Brom, Brahm, Brahm,
fucking right. Jeff Brom going home. He's coming, Brom. Back to Louisville. Ring of honor
inductee, former quarterback great. Now Cardinal head coach. Let's go. Jeff Brum. I had no idea that
You had that much juice about Louisville football.
I thought you were like a big number.
You showed you, you just showed Brom more juice than you did.
Oh boy getting hired there at Nebraska.
It's because I think it's hilarious that we've crafted an entire show around Jeff Brom de Louisville.
Oh, that's an objectively very kind of funny niche topic to me.
But it is what the college football news cycle has.
Welcome to the off season, buddy.
There's a little bit of a drought for a few.
few weeks you got you know you got to figure out some stuff out to talk about um it looks like
thomas dare maybe in the same uh building than i am he says i can literally hear teabob
from my cube in my office yeah like brum brum listen i will say this the only the only reason
he's taking this job is because he's that's that's that's that's his school i mean that's it like
louisville's not a better job than peru at all the money the money i don't i guess we'll see what
the money is the money's pretty good but like what the big tens about they get money
wise from this new TV contract is through the damn roof.
Well, but you see, okay, you see I do not, I do not want to be a part of the ACC.
I'm going to say that we're not like I do not want to be a part of the ACC that is a,
has been labeled and continues to be the worst conference at America.
Yeah.
And it's stuck in their TV deal forever.
Like their TV deal sucks.
So you go from one deal that's going to pay your school in your university money, a boatload
of money every single year to the worst conference with.
the worst TV contract out there.
The only reason he's doing it,
and I don't blame is because he's going home.
So what if you're getting paid the same and or more, though,
do I really care about the ACC versus the Big Ten,
especially if I feel like I'm kind of maxed out at Purdue, right?
And I feel like Brahms' own actions kind of tell us that he feels like he probably kind of maxed out there.
I mean, you got Ohio State, Michigan, who look impossible to pass at this point.
now you've got a Luke fickle Cincinnati.
You're going to have to deal with in the Big Ten West.
Oh, wait!
Matt Rule and Nebraska,
probably in those powerful combination on the college football landscape,
the best school in the country.
So it's just all of a sudden a very competitive big 10 that you've got to fight through.
And honestly, look, he went nine and four, eight and five.
This year they win the Big West.
Like,
in the middle of my point.
Uh, Rob Cumley has decided to post the picture.
It is a little aggressively big.
We need to zoom it in just to the pillows.
I,
the best one is you're sitting in the dead center of the couch and you have your legs very close together.
Like you look uncomfortable by the amount of space around you.
I want to cross my legs with issues.
I had my shoes off.
So I had some holes in my socks.
I don't want my nasty socks to be on the show.
So I'm like awkwardly trying to keep my feet down.
and then yeah
okay
you have to go on the
you have to go on the uh the youtube and and uh
you can yeah you can't go watch the replay and also
maybe we can tweet out a link with that as a photo
yeah it does it really does make it make make that be photo to today's pod when you
upload it um okay so as far as brahm goes i feel like he maxed out of peru
remember he was offered this little job back in 2018 he was like no i think i can build some
here want to stay west laugh yet he did that now he goes home he's probably getting paid the same
and or more um and and and and yes the acc does not have any of the prestige of the big 10 but make no
mistake the path to a championship is infinitely easier than it is in the big 10 so like he can
the path to winning games is going to be much easier where he is going than it will be uh at
do in my opinion my my my concern uh with this and this is a concern you get anytime you get a
former coach i think a great example is obviously what we saw with with got frost there in a
newbraska is is there unjust expectations because you're a former player there when you take
over a job at your university of like okay we got one of our own and yes you may be given a little bit
more leeway there may be a little bit more time that you're given to go get get you know steer the ship
right and get it to a team that's competing in the ACC, but also, you know, do you get
scrutinized even more similar to what we saw with Scott Frost where it's like, damn, man,
like we thought we had a home run higher.
It didn't work out.
And then all of a sudden, you're just getting beat down, beat down, beat down, beat down, beat down.
So it's tricky though, man.
Like, I just, I think there's going to be a lot of expectations as they're showed you.
You alluded to it.
He had success at Purdue, just brought them to a Big Ten championship game a week ago.
so people are excited to bring him home.
I just hope that like the expectations aren't too much.
Like, hey, man, we expect you to do, you know, bring us to ACC relevance
because of this conference is down and because you're coming from, say, a better conference
and you're your hometown kid.
I mean, I think Louisville can probably win like nine games a year.
Right?
Pushed 10 occasionally.
And I think that's probably what they want.
I mean, Satterfield kind of escaped from Louisville a bit like he really landed on his feet
considering he got to go to Cincinnati when he.
He had not really done much of anything at Louisville.
Like he had just stayed at 500.
I don't know how Louisville random guy ranked this year.
They had that week late in the year where they showed up at 25 and were like,
hey, what's up?
Yeah, you give you that quizzical look.
And look it up.
Yeah, I'm looking at their schedule.
Yeah.
Louisville randomly popped up in there.
And then they were like, all right, y'all.
Well, I think it was after they'd be, it was after they whipped up on Wake Forest.
They'd wins West Virginia pit.
I mean, that was the Wake Forest game where, you know, I had.
I think I had some money on Wake.
And they had like eight interceptions.
And then they go beat James Madison, who's a good football team,
one lost James Madison, I think one loss.
So that's about where.
But yeah, they're seven and five.
But you look at the ACC and they are in the Atlantic.
You got Clemson, Florida State's on the rise.
Yeah.
Syracuse, okay, NC State, Wake Forest, Boston College.
So you are in the tougher of the two divisions of the ACC.
Like I don't see them.
I don't see Louisville surpassing.
I don't see Louisville surpassing Clemson.
And then the way things are going at Forest State right now,
I don't see them kind of, you know, them overtaking.
But everybody else being built.
Yeah, but everybody else in that list, you can see the passing.
Yeah.
Oh, 100%.
But if you can't pass those two, that's two losses right there.
You got to win the rest of your, you're into your games to get the 10, you know,
eight wins.
I think, I think Louisville goal was eight wins.
They're like Kentucky.
It's just that, that state.
Be like the bottom law.
Win a game.
and then flirt with 10 every three or four years.
The bottom line, if you have the chance to hire Jeff Brom, you hire Jeff Brom.
Yes.
I don't know how I'll say it.
Like that, put it up there.
That is an ass.
Snaps certified college football truth.
One thing I do love last part here.
I know we got to move on.
But I do love the fact that Satterfield now gets the job at Cincinnati and Louisville is playing Cincinnati in the bowl game.
And so now you have a whole bunch of people.
who are still coaching on behalf of Louisville that immediately after the ball game will leave and join Satterfield at Cincinnati.
So you have people coaching for their old employers against their future employers, which just perfectly explains the wonderful.
Well, Satterfield is sitting it out.
Yes, yeah, yeah. Well, he's just sitting down and watching the whole thing go down.
It's the wonderful, incestuous nature of college football.
What up y'all, T-Bobb here from Snaps, your new favorite college.
football podcast on the Volume Sports channel.
And I remind you, football fans, make every Thursday one to remember with a free,
no sweat, same game parlay from Banduel, America's number one sports book.
That's right, every single Thursday, all customers, not new, doesn't matter, new,
older, all customers give free bets back up to $10 if your NFL same game parlay does not
hit.
So, like, I just got on the site a second ago, right?
I like Rams plus six and a half.
I can't imagine we live in a world this quickly
where they're that much worse than the Raiders,
especially at home.
So Rams plus six and a half at home.
Derek Carr under 249.5 throwing Van Jefferson over 30.
And a half-year-receiving.
Nice simple.
That's going to pay out five to one basically.
Okay.
Free, no sweat, $10 bet.
Going to pay out $54.98 if you win.
So remember, you can build your own right there in the Fandwell Sportsbook app
or they even have popular same game.
L.A's already pre-built that you just click on.
Never forget, Marylanders, Fandul, now live in Maryland.
So make sure you get on on the action, create offers, boosts, and everything that adjust for you.
You can see it there in the app.
When you sign up, use the promo code snaps.
If you don't already have an account, that's promo code snaps, and you'll get free bets back
if that same game, Parlay does not hit.
So let's make every moment more with Fandle, an official sports betting partner of the NFL.
Okay, let's move on because, like we said,
This is how you create sports shows.
Dion, right?
Who doesn't get the juice, if not prime time?
It's one of the reasons why a lot of people like prime
and a lot of these coaching jobs.
We talked about Colorado.
I think it's a,
it's an odd thing where I think it like,
maybe Chiebens a bit of what he did at Jackson State
or kind of his messaging,
but the football was great.
And I think from a chance of PAC 12,
I mean, you can shake your head there.
But that's probably a different conversation.
What does success look like?
for Dion at Colorado.
Well, I think there is going to be a level of expectation to like, we need to get to a bowl game next year.
And I don't blame people for it.
I mean, you look at the first year of coaches this year across the country and TCU to USC and those teams competing in year one for national championships and getting into the playoffs and conference championships.
There is, hey, Dion, you got the excitement.
you're bringing in guys and we'll obviously i think a lot will be dictated by what it looks like
in the portal um so i don't want to put i don't want to set expectations right now because this is
still a roster currently that is one and 11 so it's not like he's inheriting a good roster at all
like you just can't put d on on this roster and say okay we got d on so these players that currently
just went one and 11 are going to go six and six next year no no it doesn't that's not how it works
maybe he makes a good pack 12 too this is not a week back 12 Aaron i mean you know better
than I do it's got well I know it's a very good
zoo and washing in on the rise yep but so I want to hold
judgment about what I kind of expect them to be next year until I see the magic sauce
the juice that that Dion's going to bring right now in the portal I think that that's to me
that's the exciting part right now from a Colorado fan you're sitting back going all these
websites seeing all these top players at the portal saying okay rumor is that for
this four and four star guy this five star guy is is our
already been in contact with Colorado that's going to be making a visit that's been talking
with Dion. Do we get them? Do we see what what happened with USC last year when all of a sudden,
as soon as Lincoln Riley took the job, in comes Caleb, incomes the top receiver,
incomes the top running back. And all of a sudden, like, you're like, okay, this team's a
contender now day one because they hit some pretty big areas on the football team that that was a major
need. If he does that, which I think he can, then all of a sudden I'm talking about January,
February, we're saying, okay, this team is a chance to go bowling in year one.
But I think regardless of what happens in the portal, what happens in high school recruiting,
I think that should be his goal.
And I do think it's going to be realistic by my expectation of what he's going to bring into that roster in the next two months.
Yeah, I mean, look, is Stanford, the Arizona schools, Cal all remain down bad.
But after that, it does get tough to, it does get to.
tough but like you said we we yeah but you see and uscLA are leaving in two years so you just got
survive one no no no no but you said next year but we said next year right so that your schedule
be comprised of next year's team i'm just trying to see if the team at tcc you oh it's uh
even though you got to love that stage actually though right if you're dion because what are the
chances like how good will tc u be next year they'll probably be way better than you don't
be wrong but like at least it's not opening up in a michigan or something is not
open to have it's someone who's proven every single year to be able to reload like it's not an
awful opportunity there for prime to uh make some prime time news uh right away bad this year i mean
they were they were they were they were they were yeah i'm just look at the scores right now
and it's pretty piss poor so he's going to and the more i keep hearing people discuss this whole
you know dion's not nice and he's not playing fair and he's treating these kids so badly
screw that man this guy is brought into win football games and if you just go look at their
their record this year and look at the wins and losses and not just you know obviously the 111 but
how they lost i mean they got their asses blown out every single game i'd be saying the same
thing as i'm if i'm dion i'd be trying to find a way to weed out every damn player in that
roster and rebuild i could get it's a bad roster trying to weed them out i think the players
and taking care of that themselves in Boulder, right?
Do we still make jokes about legalization?
Like, does that still play?
Or now that it's basically legal everywhere, I guess it doesn't really.
Less taboo.
Yeah.
Dewees says six and six would be a miracle.
I think I probably agree.
Like six and six would be a resounding success.
If you could get Colorado bowling,
especially because let me look up their record year by year,
because it's been, yeah, it looks like it has been all the way since 2016,
since they've been to a bowl game.
Damn, they randomly went 10 and 4 in 2016.
With Mike McIntyre is the head coach.
Don't remember that at all.
All right.
Next up on the topics de jure today for that.
My time, baby.
My time.
Oh, okay.
This is a game that you in Brumley.
Explain it.
Yes.
This is a little game that our producer Brumley call me this morning as I'm trying
to feed the baby interrupting daddy, daughter time.
but it's okay and said let's let's have a little fun day little little christmas gift just just
throwing it out there brumley i'm kidding uh let's let's let's it's tis the season of giving
tis the season of portal let's put some people players coaches as a future gifts to some of these
schools so we put a list together i think of six i believe and uh t bob has no idea what's going
on t bob was not privy to any of these conversations nope so we're we're we're
going to get t bob's reaction to this wonderful wonderful christmas gift so first up on the list
in coaching and player transfer portal world uh jim leonard former defense coordinator there from
a head coach at wisconsin great defense coordinator merry christmas university of southern
california your new defensive coordinator oh oh wait wait wait wait wait wait so instead of
The Grinch doing the stealing, in this case, during the Christmas season, the Grinch is getting
stolen as Alex Grinch would get his tree ripped out, scent packing, and Jim Leonard moving in.
That makes a lot of sense, dude.
That sounds pretty exciting.
So I didn't realize, first of, how rare is it that you have a kind of prime time coordinator
candidate like this essentially be a free agent, right?
It just never happens.
You see these guys make jumps to being head coaches.
You see them get hired directly away from jobs.
Very rare is it when one of these guys kind of walks away for a job.
And then it's just an open market for him.
Obviously, he's going to win massively financially.
But when you look at Leonard, his story is pretty incredible.
I didn't realize this, Aaron.
He was a 5-8 walk-on.
I mean, he does look like just kind of a regular dude.
5-8 walk-on at Wisconsin, who went on to be a three-time first team, All-American.
Walk onto a three-time first-time American goes undrafted, plays 10 years in the NFL.
So this is a guy that consistently at every stop of life has been told you can't do it.
And then he goes and he balls out.
While he was at Wisconsin, he had defenses that were ranked first in the country in total defense, third and run, fifth and scoring.
I mean, didn't it the Packers offer him the DC job like a year ago or something?
So here you have a coordinator available that was just turning.
down NFL coordinator jobs.
Like, yeah, that doesn't happen.
And it's a USC defense.
It still needs to be made over big time on the
personnel side of the equation.
But when they do, you would have, I mean,
Jim Leonard represents a bit of a voondrican in terms of age
to success.
And you would be capturing one of the rising stars with these
rising program in Hollywood.
It makes all the sense of the world, dude.
That would be a great Christmas present.
Get the Grinch out of Hollywood.
Who, whoville, whoville would.
Whoville, get him out.
Yeah, get him out.
Yeah, imagine him, his success, what he's done, that defense, that scheme, bring in, because you know, listen, they hit the portal last year.
They're like, okay, we're going to get offense.
This is Hollywood.
This excitement.
We got off as a coach.
Let's bring points.
Let's bring energy.
You got that check.
And Caleb's coming back.
I'm sure you're going to get some other guys in the portal receiver wise.
You'll be fine on offense.
They will be one of the best offense of the country.
Now it's like, okay, let's focus our attention on the defensive side of the football because if we could have just been just, I won't say this, not a little bit, they need to be a lot better.
If we could be a lot better, which you can be in this day and age, we get a defensive coordinator to that level.
We bring in some top talent.
All of a sudden, this is going to be one of the top three or four teams heading into next season because of Caleb Williams and what they're bringing back on the office side of the football.
So can you now take that next step?
Can you play defense?
Can you stop someone?
Can you just tackle anyone?
Just make a tackle.
Get back to the fundamentals.
Please.
Please.
You know what they have to do, Aaron?
I feel bad because I know this guy's got in a lot of pub,
but you can't have a 6-5-200 Mike Linebacker.
I just can't have it.
I just can not have it.
It represents everything that is wrong with that front seven.
So I apologize, but you got to go.
All right.
Let's get to our next gift.
I love this gift.
And I'm not going to take.
for this this was brum's idea on this one uh what is a and m need what is what is text
an em need offense they swift kicking the nuts a big kick in the nuts uh they need to be humbled
they need to stop spending so much money on nil because it's not working uh they need an offensive
coordinator dan mowellan out of retirement oh to a and m
that'd be some personality in that room i don't know i don't know if if jimbo
could handle having Dan Mullen calling the plays.
That's like,
that's a,
that is a mega kick to the,
the ego right there to bring in Dan Mullen.
But I think it'd be great.
I mean,
it would be an objectively great football hire.
Now,
I'm probably a bit guilty of approaching this from an LSU bias,
but while Dan Mullen was at Mississippi State and at Florida a couple times,
though maybe less so there as things started to fall apart at the end,
like if there was one guy
during the Dave Miranda
LSU defensive error which was very
good if there was one guy who consistently
seemed to scheme the upper hand
and gain the upper hand through
the coaching portion of it over
I mean it was Dan Mullen I mean
and then you look at the offenses that he helped to revolutionize
back the day with Urban
and even what he was doing it like the way
that like I always saw Dan Mullen
needed a running power quarterback
to be good and then
the way that he had Kyle
Trask just all of a sudden a pocket pass that was lighting up everything on the verge of the
playoff there for a minute.
Like, yeah, I think Dan Mullen's one of the most elite office of minds.
I also think Dan Mullen is thoroughly enjoying retirement.
I think Dan Mullen hates recruiting.
And maybe it ain't him, you know, that's actually he could get away with a bit of hating recruiting
because they have a lot of, you know, the machinery in place to kind of take care of that for you.
But, yeah, I mean, it would be a great move.
I hope it doesn't happen because I don't want A&M to get good.
And I don't want to have to deal with Dan Mullen every year.
But he's like really enjoying retirement.
Do we talk to him?
That seems like a happy man.
Well, well, oh, no.
I talk to the day all the time.
Yeah, I thought he's my parents' neighbors there at the lake.
So like he's, he's thoroughly.
I think he's going a pretty good job on TV too.
But like there is still an itch to coach for him and in all former coaches.
I mean, why do you think they, a lot of these guys eventually, you know, look at what's
name at North Carolina.
If it's coordinator, you know, Gene Chisick went back.
started coaching again like it's in their blood it's in their DNA that that there's no better feeling
than going out there and winning football games and being a part of that locker room or on the field
it's different it hits a lot different you know it as a former player um and so do i so it's a reason
why he's still playing quarterback at 45 that two minute drive may keep him in the NFL for another
two or three years just saying they get the dan's young if you mentioned the saints game
if you mentioned the saints bucks game again the cat the pot is i'm a bucks fan i'm a bucks
fan. Of course, I'm going to mention it. It's a bug spot again. It's over. We're walking down the room. You and Stephen Chea can go blow someone on a pirate ship somewhere. Wait, what were we just talking about? Now I got all confused. Oh, Dan Mulaneda. Now, but like, and I know we're playing a Christmas hypothetical here. So it's a great move. But would you actually join Jimbo staff? Like, this is a dangerous. This is like when Ed Ogeron was trying to attract coordinators, his final year.
Jimbo's got a bit of the, um, the stench of death on him, right?
Like if we were in nautical, piratical times, uh, Jimbo has a bit of a black mark
coming his way.
It almost feels inevitable.
His downfall now he has enough treasure where it's maybe he's able to,
towards a modicum of protection.
But I would be very wary about tying my ship to his.
Um, yeah, just because I wouldn't, I wouldn't.
They want to sink him.
Like, they want him out of them.
there they want to execute him they just can't they want to they can't though reasons right now
yeah well they can't and i don't think if they can't this year they're not going to the next two of
years like that contract is slowly going down you go from like 90 to 80 to set like there's
it's gonna be a long time before they have the the brass nuts to to um to get rid of him in that
amount of money so i don't i agree that maybe it's more safe maybe it's more safe
than i'm giving it credit i think it's safe the amount of money he is safe for another couple years so um
It's just, I just think it would be more entertaining those two personalities,
putting together an offensive game plan.
I just, I don't think, I honestly don't know if anything would get accomplished
because they would want to do it their own way.
So this is, to me at the end of the day, this is on Jimbo.
Jimbo has to humble himself in order to bring it off into mind and just take the backseat.
But I don't know if he's, if he can do that.
I really don't.
Jimbo really need to hire Joe Brady.
He really needs to hire Joe Brady and give him his second chance to meet your
I agree. I agree. Joe Brady was very overrated.
In terms of the contributions of Steve Ensminger were way too largely dismissed.
I still think that Brady's offense would be a massive improvement over whatever Jimbo did last year.
95% of offenses would be a massive improvement.
All right. Next big Christmas gift.
We talked about Florida Gators losing their quarterback a little bit too premature.
opinion but you know what they lost two quarterbacks this week uh one is in jail uh another one is
heading to the nflb so they need quarterbacks i would not be surprised if if florida gets two
quarterbacks right and and they got a lot of money they got a lot of money i've talked to that
collective they they have stockpiled millions and millions so they will be able to get uh a top tier
quarterback and probably pay them in the seven figures spencer sanders at oklahoma state
goes to i guess this is you happy with that is where you're you
You this is where you open up your gift and it's like,
um,
okay.
Yeah,
this is solid.
You know,
it's a great shirt.
It's a great shirt.
I look forward to wearing this shirt.
I'm,
I'm not like,
you know,
it's not like some new badass video game console where I'm like like,
like,
like Leonard would have been where I'm rushing to the television to go play immediately.
It's not like some great like model or something that I've been looking at or toys.
I've been looking at forever that I just can't wait to go play with.
But it's like,
you know what?
That's a nice button up.
I'm going to wear that.
I'm going to wear that to the next family dinner that we have.
So thank you for that.
Like that,
Spencer Sanders doesn't really get my blood above that.
No,
it doesn't.
I'm with you.
But they need someone.
I mean,
my goodness,
they need someone.
No,
it was a bad present.
It's not,
it's not opening of stock.
It's a stocking stuffer.
It's a stocking stuffer.
Yeah.
That's your,
that's a stocking stuff because I know you're not a big fan of obviously
of Florida because of the rivalry.
But now I'm going to,
I'm going to change.
it to what does elish you need this off season what gift is elshu needs here's stocking stuffer
yes spencer sanders stocking suffer spencer sanders stocking suffer spencer sanders stocking suffer oh that's good all
all right ls u s u s tigers they got kishan back you lose you lose bash but bess yeah i'm not
this year um but what is elshund i think they need a running back they need someone that dominated
the big ten a little bit sturdy inside strong physical
Chase Brown from Illinois making the change. Come on. What we think about that, LSU.
Those receivers would chase back there at running back. No, I mean, that like, now that's,
now that is getting like a brand new video card or new PS5 or something. Like that's the big
boy right there. That's the present that you, that you hide under the tree and you save
for the last minutes after all presents are done
and your kid is happy because they've gotten all these wonderful new gifts,
but they kind of get the one that they really want,
but you knew you had it the entire time and then you busted out at the end.
I mean, yes, if you're going to tell me that I could get the,
as I'm looking up exactly right now, yeah,
you're going to tell me that I get the nation's third leading rusher
who ran for 136 yards a game, 10 touchdowns,
help bring that Illinois team to new heights,
should have been a Big West champion, like, yeah, yeah,
at a position of need.
that that would be absolutely massive for LSU.
To be clear,
Chase Brown has not entered the portal, has he?
No,
nobody could.
He could.
He definitely could.
I'm just making sure.
I'm just making sure before you'll get my hopes up too much.
Because he bombs like scheming over there.
Teabos was about to start calling some people at LSU.
Let's find this man a deal.
Let's go.
Now, he's not going to get 328 carries,
but I would use that as an advantage him.
I'd be like, bro, we're not going to use you up.
Like, you will have tread on the tires for the NFL.
Yeah, no, we just need a playmaker here.
Chase Brown would be awesome.
You think I'm excited?
You know who would be excited?
Friggin' Jake Hester is upset with Chase Brown.
He would lose himself.
Also, I just realized this.
He's from London, Ontario, okay?
I love Canadians.
Always have a very kind people.
I mean, fuck maple syrup.
You know how I feel about that.
But outside of that,
I mean, Canadians are very cool.
We like, yeah.
I don't like maple syrup, dude.
I'm all about that Louisiana.
You look like a guy that would just turn a bottle of maple syrup over and just start
chugging it.
Look, man.
Look, it'll do in a pinch, but I'm all about that.
I'm all about that Louisiana cane syrup.
But he might serve a little more viscous, right?
A little more a honey like none of that runny ass bullshit.
They're giving you from Canada.
But outside of that, I love Canada.
Kind people.
We have a lot of the same interests.
Chase Brown.
please come on down to Baton Rouge.
That would be an incredible Christmas gift.
All right,
all right,
here we go.
We got time for two more.
All right.
Next one.
So USF brand new coach.
They went to Tennessee.
They want some offense.
Alex Golish,
golish,
excuse me,
down there as a new head coach.
He's going to need a quarterback.
He's going to need someone
that can throw the football.
And J.T. Daniels is once again on the market,
leaving West Virginia.
He's going to take it.
He needs to just get out.
He needs to get out of the power five.
He needs to go to a group of 15.
He can throw the ball vertically down the field.
He got a great arm.
J.T.
going to USF, going to Tampa.
Bro.
After you've been to USC,
Georgia,
West Virginia,
you cannot go to South Florida.
That's just sad.
That just feels sad.
You have never been to Tampa,
T, Bob.
Tampa.
I'm not.
I'm not.
Look, look.
An awesome town.
You're going to be a quarterback for an offense, and you look at what he did this last year.
It's no Morgan.
It's better.
It's warmer.
You're on the beach.
It's warmer.
You'd be a part of an offense that throws a ball that many times per game puts up that kind of stats.
He's got the arm to do it.
No.
He needs to go, JT.
I loved.
I loved your tweet.
Are you saying no more for USF?
Are you saying more no for JT to go to USF?
Like which one of you more?
I'm saying no because all I care about is fulfilling the potential of your tweet,
where you pointed out that this kid's man cave is going to be incredible.
He's going to have a national championship ring.
He's going to have a USC jersey and helmet up.
He's going to have a Georgia jersey and helmet up.
These have a West Virginia helmet, which is like a cool little kind of deep cut on the Power 5 level.
But now if we're JT, we got to complete this man cave, we need.
as big of a brand as we can find.
Okay.
So I got two for you.
Okay.
We've been to the PAC 12.
We've been to the SEC.
We've been to the big 12.
Forget about the ACC.
They're lame.
Don't need to add anything there.
I got two big 10 schools for you.
First off, Nebraska.
Okay.
No, Nebraska and Matt Rule, they need a quarterback.
J.T. Daniels, that's a great college football brand.
If you could have Georgia, USC, and Nebraska on the walls,
you're talking about some of the best uniforms and brands ever.
So I love the Nebraska fit.
And then one that Brum mentioned Penn State.
Now,
it's always safe to assume that,
no,
they got a five-star quarterback that they love.
No,
no, no, no.
Okay.
All I'm saying is,
they're moving on.
So it's not Sean Clifford.
Because I just assume that Sean Clifford has another year.
I think that's always safe.
Sean's talking about Penn State.
Drew, Drew Aller.
I think it's pronounced a nice,
Aller, A-L-L-R, 6-5,
242 pound five-star freshman quarterback that played well this year four touchdowns no picks
they are really excited about him he's going to be the quarterback next year for princ state so
sorry to read on so pin states out then what about no bros though can i get nebraska huh you get
nebraska i can i can mess with nebraska i can feel maybe per do the bottom line is he's done
the west coast he's done the south he's done the appellations i think some like midwest
would do his college experience some real good what a what a what a career
He's literally started at three universities, three power five schools as a chance to start a fourth.
I mean, what, what?
Ooh, wait a second.
I like this answer even better from Rob D in the chat.
He needs to go to Iowa.
He definitely just get a quarterback.
They got a McNamara.
Yeah, they got McNamara.
Oh, yeah.
Wait, so are we, are we saying that Kate?
Is Kate McNamara like, oh, you got McNamara?
you're good like is that is that where we're at
i like i don't think i've ever
see any there is that much difference
between kate mac at least kate let let
let his team to a
a playoff birth and beat
ohio state
did he
what would j t games have done on that same team i wonder
i don't know i don't know
i'm just saying path
this is your last chance
this is your last chance as a quarterback like he
he literally is i don't know maybe he finds
another way he's like a damn cat i think he's
exhausted all of his opportunities.
Why would you not go somewhere where you know you're going to be the starter?
You don't have to compete and you could put up crazy good stats.
Iowa, you're going to have to compete.
It's not a for sure thing.
Like there is no more.
J.T.
This is it.
You have been given your last opportunity.
Don't fuck it up.
So go somewhere you can have success.
By the way, speaking of Iowa, where did I have this written on my notes today?
The real JT to USF makes the most sense.
Thank you. Thank you. He knows.
It's so boring, dude.
The USF uniform, I wouldn't even allow it.
I wouldn't even allow it in my man cave compared to all the other ones.
The real winners, though.
Trent,
Trent Richie in the chat.
Tampa is not central.
Tampa is on the west side of the state of Florida.
Completely on the west side.
It's on the water.
It's not anywhere near central.
Oh, here's what it is.
I meant to mention this term, Will Levis, real quick.
The real winner of Will Levis declared for the NFL is,
the college football sickos committee as now the music city bowl will be featuring a backup
Kentucky quarterback going to get to a third string Iowa quarterback that hasn't thrown a single
collegiate pass and there's only apparently one starting receiver left between the two teams.
I mean, it's going to be an incredible shit show of putrid offense in the music city bowl.
Can't wait.
Sorry, continue.
All right.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Last one.
and this is the one
that I do not want to see.
I don't think anyone
in the country wants to see
Drake May to Alabama.
Hmm.
Oh.
Oh.
That would be depressing.
That would be depressing.
Yeah.
I get the first crack at this one.
I mean,
it can happen.
This is awful.
If I'm,
if I'm him,
I'm going Alabama.
But that would,
that would be bad for college football.
Why,
dude?
Don't you appreciate poetry?
Haven't you heard of Bob Frost?
I took the road less travel and that has made all the difference.
Just going to go to Alabama.
Oh, my God, dude.
That would be some rich getting richer bullshit.
That would be the wealth gap increasing.
That would be billionaires of finding more loopholes to not pay taxes.
So in many ways, it would be incredibly apropos for our country, but it would piss me off if he were to go to Alabama.
He should go to LSU.
No, no, no.
Look, I don't care.
Like, go anywhere, Drake Mae.
Literally go to any school, but Alabama.
I would hate that.
But I'll be damned if it doesn't make a lot of sense.
It makes like all the sense.
Way, way, way too much sense.
So we will, there are going to need some receivers, though.
Half the receivers are in the portal right now.
So, but I guarantee if Drake May commits,
they will get those guys back or go get some more similar to what Caleb did last year.
So, all right.
Good show, T. Bob.
That's a depressing way to end.
it for for yeah jeez you see guys but sorry um i will say this uh so i have a little new dad thought
boys anybody out there who's about to have a kid get back into reading okay i find reading to be
an elite way to pass a time with a newborn right you can pick up and pause whenever you want
makes a time fly by um i'm pretty sure that it transfers like vocabulary to your baby through
Rosmosis, a little skin-to-skin reading. But, but it cannot, cannot recommend it.
Enough. Yes, reading. I just mean reading books in an elite way.
I'm getting it. You know it's on my Christmas list this year is a, a new, a new, a new
Kindle. Oh, really? Yeah. I, I went down the Kindle road for a while and I found that I just missed
the feeling of a good paperback. I love having a pocket paperback. Nothing makes me happier than when I
can fit whatever fantasy direct that I'm reading at the time just in my pocket and whip it out
at any time. It's kind of like a little flex too.
Um, Rob be, the only thing I read is defenses on NCAA 14. Hell yeah, dude. Hell yeah. All right.
