What's up, guys?
Today's episode is brought to you by Total Wireless, the official wireless provider of UFC.
Get 5G data that won't tap out.
Real UFC fans, guys, need real 5G and real unlimited.
So a lot is happening right now in MMA and a lot of it's sitting around the fights that are going to happen soon and the fights that are been on the schedule.
You know, as we get close to these fights, the fighters are generally talking.
Ian Gary has made much about him wrestling a lot for this training camp.
And to that, Islamakhatchev said, I keep telling these guys that you cannot wrestle for three months and think.
that you're going to be able to compete with guys that have been wrestling their whole life,
you've got to wrestle a lifetime in order to be able to compete with guys like
Habib Norega Medov, myself, John Jones, Islam, all the back to the Ryan Bader's, Phil Davis,
is in all those guys. You have got to wrestle a long time to be able to compete with those guys.
Would that being said, though? Would that being said, I love Islam.
I think he's very smart.
I think he's very thoughtful.
But what are you supposed to do?
What are you supposed to do as you prepare for fights that are the biggest fights of your entire life?
What is Ian Gary supposed to do to try and prepare himself for a fight with a guy that has proven that if he can get you down to the ground,
you're pretty much stuck there.
You don't get to move when he gets you down to the ground.
What are you supposed to do?
This is exactly what you're.
Gary's supposed to do. You know, one thing I find very interesting about the way Islam is
approaching this fight is, you can tell that he has a high level of respect for Ian Gary
because he's paying attention to the things that Ian Gary is saying on a number of instances.
I know that the team respects Ian Gary a tremendous amount because of all the challenges he can
present inside the Octagon. Now, if he has done a good job,
of working on the wrestling, he gives itself a chance.
But ultimately, I think for Gary to be successful,
he has got to try to find range,
and that's more difficult to do,
an easier said to do when you're fighting a guy like Islam
who constantly is in your face impression you.
But, hey, a little quick point at the top,
Islam is paying attention.
I truly believe that's because he has a real high level of respect
for Ian Gary.
in Ian Gary's game.
Joe Rogan defended Tom Aspinall the other day,
and this is what he said.
I'm kind of happy that that happened,
because I think that Big Tom
has gotten a bit of an unfair shake,
if I'm being completely honest with you.
Rogan said he got a bad deal.
He really got fucked over in that fight.
The way people got upset at him
for stopping the fight with those eyepokes to me,
it drove me crazy.
What do you expect the guy to do?
He's defending the heavyweight title.
I mean, he's defending the heavyweight title.
He gets poking the eyes and he can't see.
And he's at two eye surgeries since.
Tom says, I've had three eye surgeries.
I've had a vasectomy.
And I was thinking that has got to be the worst surgery ever.
He said he had a vasectomy in the eye surgery that he had.
Wait, no, no.
Compared to the eye surgery, it's nothing.
The eye surgery was.
was worse than the vasectomy.
Look, man, when we were there watching that fight
and you saw the eye poke,
you thought to yourself,
please don't let this be the end in the fight
because there was so much hype
and so much expectation for the fight.
But ultimately, how heavily do we gauge
the importance of that championship,
especially the Tom Aspinall, right?
Unless you're the heavyweight champion,
We have, I swear to God, we have judge people in fighting for one,
Diego Sanchez, one time he was down, he got kneeed on the ground, he stayed down,
people more willing to accept that than they did the heavyweight champs and he got poked in the eye.
So we didn't really come down on him.
I and many people came down on Anthony Smith for getting up when John Jones hit him.
when he could have become a world champion on that night.
And even if he didn't feel like a world champion in theory,
he would have taken part in the world championship money
come the next fight.
So people were on him for that.
People were on Kevin Holland for kicking kick low in the nuts
and they made him fight, made him feel good about it.
When in reality, he probably should not have fought.
He was so compromised.
He probably should not have fought.
There have been many, many, many reasons are examples
of guys taking unnecessary files and unfair files,
Al Jermaine Sterling versus Peoriae.
People are on him so bad for staying down
when in reality, that's probably what he should have did
because if he would have got up,
it would have been so compromised.
Peter Young would have just finished him.
He was losing the fight.
He became the champion.
Then he ultimately went on a massive
title victory defense run.
None of that happens if he lets his ego
allow for him to just keep going
when he wasn't supposed to keep going.
Tom Aspinall made the right choice.
He protected his heavyweight championship
because who knows you're standing in front of Cyril Garn,
one of the most athletic, dynamic guys in the heavyweight division.
Who knows what would have happened had he continued to fight?
And honestly, from being completely honest,
we can't judge the whole fight based on what we saw to that point.
But to that point, Cyril Gond was having a lot of things.
success against Tom Aspenham.
So maybe it's like, yo, let's go regroup and figure this out.
I don't knock him for that.
Because again, he's protecting something that's much bigger than most people have to protect.
So it was very good for me to see Joe Rogan come to his defense because obviously we all
know Rogan's voice is as big as any voice in all of, I can't even say sports talk,
just in the world.
and for him to come to Tom's defense was very important.
And how about Tom Aspinall yesterday, putting that threads out,
and the first line was, hello everybody, I hope everyone's good.
Like, the baddest man on the planet is also the most polite and nicest guy in the world.
Like, come on, you got to be kidding me.
Lastly, UFC 331 or 2 in Los Angeles.
UFC 331.
Got a main event and the co-main event.
yesterday. We were all expecting Armand Sarukin. If I'm being honest, guys, Armand Sarukian told me in
Abu Dhabi, it was going to be him and Oliva. No BMF title. It was going to be him and Olivera fighting
in Los Angeles. And Armand just told me he just wants to continue to fight to essentially make himself
undeniable because he wants a title opportunity. Yesterday we got that he's fighting against Maricio
Hoofee. That's a dangerous fight with not as much upside because Hoofie, while he,
is good. And while he did have that great win at the White House, he doesn't have the name
value as Charles Oliver. Armand Siruqi is saying yes to this fight, I believe, strickenes his case
over anything. The one thing that made it hard for Armand to get the title shot that so many
people feel he deserves is because of the way the last fight that he was scheduled with Islam
went down. But now he's saying yes to everybody and everything under any type of fighting
situation. That makes you the guy that everybody wants to work with. Now, it's unfortunate because we
would have loved to see him and Olavera have a rematch. The first fight was tremendous. Armadique
actually hit a fan on the way to the aftergon. But unfortunately, Charles's teammate passed away
and that's why I believe at least that we're not getting that fight because, you know,
obviously those guys down there, Olaver and their team, they're all so close.
So I think that's why we're not getting the Charles fight.
So Armand Hoof is going to be good, though.
It's going to be an amazing fight, and Los Angeles always has great fights.
Obviously, the main event is Pantosia back to challenge Joshua Van.
I cannot wait for that one.
But guys, it's not paying attention.
He really is paying attention.
Tom Aspen all made the right call.
He really did.
Think about all those times.
We have literally been on both sides of the line in every situation that something like this has happened.
We're either on one side or the other, but nobody's ever aligned.
Tom Aspinall had to make the right decision for himself.
And Huffy versus Armin is crazy.
And if Armin can win, this will definitely guarantee him a championship opportunity.
All right, guys, until next time, like, subscribe and tell you, friend, I got a YouTube channel.
I'm doing stuff like this.
Peace.
All right, guys.
