Starting point is 00:03:59 Power move. Today, I have two things I want to discuss with you guys. I want to discuss Armand Sarukian and his latest incident. And also, I want to talk about Max Holloway because I had a conversation with the blessed one. And we spoke about his career going forward, what his expectations are, what his hope for, his hope is for and what he believes is going to happen. So first off, Armand Sarukian. Armand Sarukian has started to make himself undeniable, right? There is a thing in fighting where most times guys fight to change their lives. They fight to really make money, change the way that they live and the life that they live and possibly their family's lives as they go forward.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Sarukian doesn't have that. Sarukian told me when he visited us for the Daniel Kormier show that he fights for fun because he has all the money that he needs. He does not need money in order to live through fighting. His dad has money. His family's fine. He cannot do this and still be okay. That is not the case with most fighters.
Starting point is 00:05:19 So at times, it could be perceived as hard to get a guy like that to do what you. you want, right? One case was the fight in Los Angeles where he's supposed to fight Islam, where he didn't fight. Generally, guys, I promise you this, generally the fighter will do it because they know in that championship fight, it's probably going to be the biggest payday of their life. It's going to be the most eyes that they've ever been in, and it's a life-changing opportunity. With the belt comes more financial freedom. With the belt comes more stardom and fame. with the belt, especially if you meet a person like Makachev, it brings the eyes that you need.
Starting point is 00:06:02 But because of the security in the Sarukian family, he kind of walked away from all that and really didn't think twice. He really did not think twice about fighting. Or if he needed to pull out of the fight, he just did it. You know, there's a lot of stories as to what happened on that night. So then it felt like he was in purgatory. It felt like Armand was in purgatory where he was not going to be able to work his way or get a championship opportunity. It was almost like the trust was gone.
Starting point is 00:06:36 But then you could start to rebuild that trust through competition. Armin came back. He fought or he made the weight as a backup fighter. Then he fought later in the year and won again against Dan Hooker and he looked tremendous. But it's what he's doing outside of the octagon that has now started. to make Arm and Sarucan a guy where I'm telling you, I am telling you that I know this. I really know. Armand Sarucan is now starting to make himself undeniable through the actions of the wrestling,
Starting point is 00:07:09 the grappling, the boxing, all the stuff he's doing outside of the UFC to stay busy is making people pay attention and go, wow, we love Armin Sarukian. And here's another thing about fans and people in the game, right? And I'm kind of a part of it. So there was a guy named Bobby Rood and the WWE, and he had this song, and I liked him. And I thought that he was the man. But the moment everybody started going,
Starting point is 00:07:35 we love this guy. I said to myself, I don't know if I like him as much anymore, because he felt like he was the guy that I chose. But then when he became just another one of the guys that everybody chose, I didn't want that. Right now, there's this perception that Armis Rukin is getting wrong, which I have also said he should have.
Starting point is 00:07:54 I've gotten the title fight by now because he's so clearly than number one contender. But because the idea of him getting wrong, it builds a swell of people in support for Arm and Siruquian. And then he goes out and does all the other stuff outside of the UFC and it just makes it bigger and bigger. So then guess what? The people in the know, the people that matter, they take notice of that. And they go, man, this guy really is making himself into something. I'm telling you, I've heard this with my own ears. He's making himself into something, guys, we've got to reconsider.
Starting point is 00:08:27 We've got to get this guy in a position to fight for a bill. And this is as close as he's been since he got to Los Angeles about to fight for the championship. So I said to Armine, you're interesting now. Armine went on a media tour before Gaethe Fart Pimlet, and he did tremendous. He started doing stuff with Nina Drama. He came on my show. That full episode, Armin and I sat for an hour. has over 800,000 views.
Starting point is 00:08:57 All the clips in the video has 3 million views. By far, the biggest thing we've done since Islam. It is the biggest thing we've done since Islam Akats have said so many black belts need to get taken away. Armisturukian has done gangbusters. Everything's going great from him eating to him, traveling to him. I told his manager the other day, I said, just don't fuck this up. Don't fuck it up.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Don't do one thing that kicks you backwards. He's got to be very careful. The thing the other day with the American Airlines thing, for us, that's funny, right? That's funny. But we need to make sure Armand told me himself. He goes, I'll be a good boy. And honestly, he goes, I'll be a good boy.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Then he talked himself into being mad again. It was the most insane thing. I loved it. I loved every second of it. It's funny to us, but he's right at that point now where he's got to kind of peel back, peel back a little bit and he's going to get
Starting point is 00:09:55 exactly what he wants he's going to get exactly what he wants hey the April Fool's Day poster of the fight announcement like brilliant brilliant traveling the world showing the lavish lifestyle
Starting point is 00:10:10 brilliant all the stuff with Nina all the stuff in the interviews brilliant the wrestling brilliant grappling brilliant everything's brilliant now peel back a little bit, just a little bit, because you're right on the verge.
Starting point is 00:10:27 I don't know if there's more work to be done to earn what you've already earned inside the octagon and now earned with your actions outside the octagon. Armine, you had the finish line because guess what? The winner of that fight at the White House will fight Arm and Sarukian, and we will be in for one of the biggest events of the entire year. He's earned it now. He's got it. It all worked.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And worked. Now peel back and just live with the fruits of your labor. Keep giving the stuff here and there, little bits. But I'm telling you, Armand, it's there. You've done it. You've changed it. You've changed the narrative. We all love it. We all love you. We all ready for you to go fight for that title. Now peel back just a little bit. I talked to Max Holloway the other day. And Max and I were talking about his career, talking about the result against Charles Olivera. and just honestly having a real conversation about what he thought his future looks like. Because Max is not old. He still got a lot of time in his game. And I posed this question to him just as a friend and I said, could you ever have imagined that losing the BMF title would put you closer to the Conner McGregor fight? I go, so many are wondering if you would take it. Do you want to fight, Connor?
Starting point is 00:11:52 Do you want to do this? Like, are you ready to go? And Max said to me, I am training right now because it's all I want. He said, it is all I want. It's all I want with my career. If I give the opportunity, Face McGregor in his return fight, not only because I know it will bring eyes to me and my product, because I know that I got to get that back.
Starting point is 00:12:19 He said, when we fought I was a little boy, I was a child, and I got beat, sure. He goes, but I'm a grown man now. This is the fight that I want. It's the fight that I need. This is the fight that makes sense. Me versus McGregor. Hands down, no questions, no hesitation. He just said, it's what he wants because it's what he wants because he feels he's earned it.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Max has put a lot of work in for the company. Max has put a lot of work in for the fans. And Max deserves an opportunity to go out and try. to write something that he feels was done so wrong so many years ago. I'm all the way in because I thought that for Connor McGregor to come back, there were three fights. There were three fights. There was Nate Diaz, which would be the biggest box office success.
Starting point is 00:13:08 No matter what you think, him and Connor for the third time, would have been the biggest box office success. Obviously, that did not work out. I thought Michael Chandler was another option for the fight because I thought I thought, I thought that Michael Chandler was an ideal type of matchup because Mike will stand and trade with him because Mike is willing to go and stand and bang to try to knock him out. I also thought that Mike had waited and put the time in and did the show with Connor and Mike had earned an opportunity to fight McGregor. But obviously Mike is fighting at the White House. So that leaves Max, who I believe
Starting point is 00:13:44 in terms of competitiveness, it's the hardest of the three-fifference. It's the hardest of the three-fifference. fights. By far the hardest of the three fights, but it's also something we've seen before. When we saw it when they were children, it was fun. I would love to see it today as grown men how the fight plays out, and it would do gangbusters. If you asked me if Max Holloway, Connor McGregor could have done massive numbers before, yes, because of Connor. You asked me today if Max Holloway versus Connor McGregor does big numbers, I would tell you yes because of Connor and Max Holloway. Connor McGregor has been rumored to come back in July,
Starting point is 00:14:23 which would be International Fight Week in Las Vegas, the ninth island of Hawaii. Hawaii, then they call this the ninth island. It is literally perfect. It's perfect. And I know one side that's in. And I don't know Connor very well. But I do know that when Connor McGregor knows someone wants to fight him,
Starting point is 00:14:43 he's not a guy that runs away from that fight. or that challenge. So my hope and anticipation is that we get an announcement at some point that they will fight each other. You know what's crazy is like I think Dana announced Philadelphia in August. Tell us July, champ. Give us the fight. Make it Holloway.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Come on, Dana. Boss, give us the fight. Holloway versus McGregor, International Fight League, gangbusters. Let's go. Guys, Armis got it. Got it. Now let's stop. Let's just kick back a little bit.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Keep doing the food video, show to travel, fall back, take what you've earned. And let's do McGregor versus Holloway. That works. That's best for business. Guys, until next time, like, subscribe and tell your friends to tell their friends that DEC's got a YouTube channel. I'm doing stuff like this every single week. Until next time, peace. Hey guys, it's us.
