Dude, his whole life has sounded like the first drop of a roller coaster. I mean, I can't even tell you, Paul, how crazy it was.
Starting point is 00:00:27 It was insane. Listen to Paul's best podcast. on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Munga Chitigula, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, cremudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.
Starting point is 00:00:53 I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever, on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Listen to First America on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The volume. All right, guys, this week's action is brought to you by our good friends at Hard Rock Bet, where if you bet $5 or more, that original bet hits, you get $150 and bonus bets instantly.
Starting point is 00:02:21 So let me give you some of my thoughts on the fights this weekend to try to help you as you go to try to pursue this cash. All right, King Green versus Terrence McKinney. That fight is ending in the first round. I don't, I'm not telling you who wins, but I believe that is a one round fight. Then, when you get to the Co-Main event, you got Patty Pimlet and Benoit-Sandini. I don't know who wins,
Starting point is 00:02:49 but I do believe that whoever wins this fight is going to be over a round and a half. So in the later parts of the fight, someone's going to finish this fight. And in the main event, event, Connor McGregor versus Max Holloway 2. I'm choosing that one by decision. So again, McKinney versus Green, one round, over a round and a half for the co-main event.
Starting point is 00:03:13 But we will get a finish. I don't know what type of finish. And in the main event, I'm going decision. So again, go to Hard Rock bet, place an original bet of $5 or more, and get $150 in bonus bets if that original bet hits. And then you tell them that the boy DC sent you. Payable and bonus bets is not a cash offer. Offered by the Seminole Tribe of Florida in Florida.

Starting point is 00:04:19 about enlightenment ideals, does also have this darker history to it. Why is it important for the darker part of the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution? Why is it important that Americans know about it? Well, if we don't understand the full context in which our nation was founded, we won't understand the full context in which our nation now finds itself. I'm Rebecca Nagel. Gohyn, Taoadon, Jalaka Yatliqa, citizen of Cherokee Nation. Are you guys big chiefs fans?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Hell yeah. This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this present moment. Listen to First America on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The World Cup is underway and it's been incredible. On our podcast, The Away End with Danielle Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving and what surprised us,
Starting point is 00:05:23 all to the lens of being massive fans of the world, most beautiful game. Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. The expanded field of teams has created some incredible matchups that have already made this World Cup one to remember. And now things get even more exciting with the intensity of the knockout rounds as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th. When you say it like that, I get a pain in my heart that the tournament is over.
Starting point is 00:05:49 But there's a lot of soccer yet to go. And if the first few games of the round of 32 are any indication, anything is possible. possible in the lead up to the final. We've got it covered from an ultra's perspective here on the away end. So listen to the away end with Daniel Alricone and John Green on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Mungishit together and I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about. And what it really means to live for
Starting point is 00:06:29 forever, for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here are some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four-to-five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble.
Starting point is 00:06:56 I'd say probably start bone smashing To make it look more defined They say it works I don't know Listen to Skyline Drive How to Live Forever On the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts
Starting point is 00:07:08 Or wherever you get your podcast Mainstream media It's full of cruel depictions Of the unhoused Stories that shame And blame And hang the unhoused As a monolith
Starting point is 00:07:22 We The In House Is the podcast That's changing that I'm Theo Henderson Creator and host, and for years I've created a space where the unhoused and their advocates can tell their own stories. In the last few months alone, I've interviewed Unhoused parents, immigrants, mutual aid organizers, veterans, the LGBTQTIA plus community, and the policymakers who make the laws that impact
Starting point is 00:07:47 the unhoused existence. We do in Houses a two-time Webby and Signal Award-winning show with many exciting guests on the horizon. Tune in this week for my interview with Dr. the Gio Wichler. A street doctor turned influencer whose work with the unhoused community has made a huge impact online and in her community. Starting point is 00:08:09 on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When I get to your tournament, I'm gonna beat that ass. I'm going in your gym. And if I beat you in your gym, stop, stop, stop, stop. Make sure they sign the waiver. Hey, no, stop, stop, sign a waiver.
Starting point is 00:08:33 You better sign a waiver. If I go in that gym, you better sign a wave because you're going to be trying to crawl out of that by the time I'm done with you. I'm telling you. Brother, you're 50 years old, brother. I am. Can you believe that?
Starting point is 00:08:45 Brother, you owe his shit. Think about this, though, Max. Think about this, though. And, guys, I swear this is true. All Max's friends... He's going to tell you this is like him sneezing and hurting his back. I'll tell you guys, I swear on my life, this is true. Max and I have done many things against each other.
Starting point is 00:09:00 He's never won. You've never won. In video games or anything. Max, what if you want? What if you want? Never gave me a rematch. Hey, me and this guy have done many things against each other. He's never won.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Anything. One thing, many. His mini is one time. What the hell? Guys, Max bless Holloway. Thanks for joining me, Jerome. Every time. Every time.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Thanks for having. My boy. This week in another big fight in a career of big fights, but this one has to mean a little bit more being that you get to fight Conlon McGregor again for the second time. Yes, sir. Huge fight, bro. International Fight Week. If you told me that I was fighting Connor McGregor International Fight Week after my last fight,
Starting point is 00:09:42 especially if you told me, I know, bro, you need to. But we talked, let's just be honest, we talked about this. Let's not like, let's not, like, act like we didn't have off-the-record conversations about this specific thing. Why keep talking about off-the-record, bro? We on the record now. Now we are. The off-the-record comes. We talked a little bit about, like, remember I said, Max Holloway may have won by losing because of the way Charles fought.
Starting point is 00:10:04 When you left after the fight losing the BMF title, you probably were so distraught. How quickly did you feel like, man, maybe this could lead to this McGregor fight? We see what happens. I would have been more happy if I got the W, you know, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. The man won. Can't take nothing away from him, but I'm here against Connor McGregor, so it's fun.
Starting point is 00:10:26 You guys fought when you were children. Like you were actual children. I think one of the things that I've said in the bill to this is they fought as kids now they're men, right? Connor McGregor has done what he's done. Max Holloway is one of the greatest fighters of all time. When you look back on that first fight, can you even take anything from it,
Starting point is 00:10:43 or do you not even recognize yourself in the Octagon that night? I mean, not at all. Not really, you know, so that's so long time ago. We can't talk about it. I mean, Conner's telling himself that I have not grown since that fight, and he can keep telling himself whatever he needs. As long as I see him Saturday night, standing against the Octagon from me, I'll be happy.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Were you worried that he wasn't going to? Because there's been a lot of starting stops with Cona McGregor since he broke his leg, right? The Chandler fight was supposed to happen so many times. Poor Chandler. Like this, dude, man. Oprah, poor Chandler. How you go over and fight Connemogregor to fight in that one dude at the White House?
Starting point is 00:11:18 Rufie. Yeah, that's crazy. That's crazy, bro. You man is Chandler? This guy's crazy, bro. No. But I'm going to ask you this, though. Were you worried?
Starting point is 00:11:31 Were you worried that you? you would actually get here. Be honest. I mean, I would say not too crazy. I wasn't too crazy. After signing the contract, that's when you hear some stuff, you're like, ah, whatever, we see what happens, but we're here now five weeks, so I'm excited. How's the training camp been? Training camp been good, man. Like I said, you've been seeing me at my 150, you saw me at 145 days. You see me 155. And I always said 155 camps is the best, 170 camps is even better. Why was it better? get to eat more, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:04 My plates look like your plates now, so it's great. Max, why are you so disrespect? That actually don't look like your right. Sorry, it doesn't look like your face, and I'd look like you if it's your plate. Do you not see the picture going on me? They literally put my face on your body, bro. And people are saying, look, Max in 170, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:19 They're disrespecting you, D.C. They do. They forget that I be... Max, they forget that I used to fuck people up. Yeah. But, Max, you used to be fat, too, though. Let's not act like you to come. One time I saw you, when you came to the ultimate fighter,
Starting point is 00:12:32 when you used to get fat you had the pants on like you weren't 45 pants it was all in your ass tight no it was max don't lie like you wouldn't fat for a while now you in shape now you in shape but don't have you can't be judging me yeah but you've been always fat that's the difference see that's crazy you know when you fight you're oh you still fat you're I was fat but like I was like always like 13 pounds heavier because of that belt because of that motherfuckin belt a lot 13 pounds heavy you don't say max my boy um god you just you just so silly, man. It's hard to, like, conduct an interview with you because you're so silly. Right, he's probably do your best.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Yeah, if you do that, it's probably do the best because they just look at us. It do. It really do. Roasting each other. Max, when, when you start to prepare for Conne McGregor, a guy that really hasn't been here for a long time, his last fight against Dustin Porier, Dustin had beaten him. Dustin was beating him again in that fight. So he wasn't at his peak. He wasn't a guy that fought a little young, hungry guy that you fought whenever you're coming up. Who do you prepare for?
Starting point is 00:13:33 Especially being that he hasn't fought for five and a half years. I think we prepare for the best version of Connor McGregor, right? Five years, crazy injury, crazy injury. Him having, bro, the unlimited bank account that he has is insane. Him fighting God now. His kid is going to come to the fight. I've seen that he's working with Tim Grover, bro. You saw that?
Starting point is 00:13:55 Who's Tim Grover? Tim Grover. MJ, Kobe Bryant, Tim Coach. The guy? The guy who writes the books. So he's doing all that stuff, bro. I getting ready for the most dangerous. So he's taking everything.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Serious all the time. But he has to, right? So many people expect all those things that you're saying, though, and all the things that he's saying, so many expect you to be able to just kind of get through him, beat him up because of all those other reasons. How do you ignore all that outside noise? Because not only are you seeing this online,
Starting point is 00:14:28 but I'm pretty sure when you're streaming, people are talking about it. Like, it's always around you that you're supposed to, you know, beat this guy. Yeah, I mean, I don't have to take it too serious. You know, I'm there. I got to make that walk. I know what I did. So that's what I'm focusing on. I'm focusing on our game plan that we got and go out there and show the world.
Starting point is 00:14:49 So the first time you guys fought it was a lot of boxing, right? No, no, no, no, no, don't lie. He took you down a couple times, too. That was crazy, bro. It was terrible. How do you expect this fight to play out? Like, do you expect him to be more willing to stand up on the feet considering he did the boxing match with Mayweather?
Starting point is 00:15:07 All that boxing training, do you expect him to be more willing or do you expect him to still be trying to wrestle because of the way that you strike? You know, I think he was going to come outstanding, and then we saw, you know, with the Nate fight or any fight, really, like once he gets hit, he starts looking for wrestling. So I'm getting ready for a mixed martial arts corner, and it's going to be fun. You brought Jack Delamattelina into camp this time.
Starting point is 00:15:28 What was the reason for that? Former 170 champ, big dude, South Paul, great boxing, you know, good wrestling, great ground. He fit all the boxes, and we was excited that I got to have him for two weeks, and it was super fun. How'd that feel with the new body, right? With the 170-pound body, because before training with a bigger guy from the weight class above you, you would feel that. Like, it puts a toll on you. How did you feel carrying that weight? It felt good.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I felt super good. And then, like you said, having Jack there, An actual champion of the weight class area. An actual 170 pounder, too. And an actual 170, and a big 170 pounder. It was awesome, bro. It's awesome to feel him, the way he moved, his boxing, the hits, the hits that Connor talking about.
Starting point is 00:16:09 So it's super fun. When he's talking like that, though, like when Connor is talking, because that's what he does, right? And when you say enough things, at times they happen and then you become mystic mac. When he's saying all of that, right? You're not a guy that talks much. Like, what do you see in people when they do that? It's almost like they're trying to convince themselves of what they can do.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Yeah, at the end of the day, if that's what he's doing, like I've been saying in the beginning of the interview, if that's what he needs to do to make that walk, please keep doing it because I just can't wait to be standing across the Afghan and, you know, being able to write a wrong. What happens if you win this fight? Like, do you believe that maybe a fight with Justin Gaichi, a rematch comes to fruition? What do you hope it happens with a victory of O'Connor McGreg this weekend? With Colin McGregor, you hear all the talks. They're saying if he win, he gets to fight for a time. He had, like, you know, a champion in Bowwood class
Starting point is 00:17:03 is saying maybe they would fight him at 170, oh, 1,55, you know? Yeah. Takes two to the tango, bro. I go out there, get a finish in an exciting fashion. Who's just saying, I don't slide right into anything I get to choose. So it's going to be UFC's park. I just got to go out there and not only win,
Starting point is 00:17:21 win an entertainment business. I need to win exciting. UFC Freedom 250 you watch Gachi, Tepore. You were you surprised? Not at all. I wasn't surprised of Gichi pulling off the wind. I was surprised of how he won. Because I thought if he won, he'd do a little bit more kicks,
Starting point is 00:17:38 get late kicks in there. But the guy outboxed Tepora, and that was the most surprising thing about the whole fight. He outboxed him, you know? He went out there, did his thing, and guys hand raised, congratulations to the champ. So when you, again, you look at that, right? This is a guy that you beat in.
Starting point is 00:17:53 in tremendous fashion. Like, again, do you want to stay at 170 or would you want to go back down? I know you're trying to focus on it now, but it's like to map out a plan is always the best. It's motivation. Of course, you know, mapping out the plan. The first day it comes to my mind is we would want to go out there and go get, go fight Gagee again. But we'll see what happens, you know. Things change in a dime all the time and one step at a time.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Last thing before I let you go. So fighting, right, becomes our identity. You and me and actually, especially for a guy like you, who's done it for so long, your whole life has been fighting. And Dustin's too, right? I know you probably saw what happened to Dustin Porier. What do you make it at? And as you get closer to the end,
Starting point is 00:18:42 do you think about what's going to fill that void whenever fighting isn't there anymore? Do you... Yeah, I already know what I'm going to do. What are you going to do? I've been a number one hitter on D.C. Channel. Comment on my shit? You're going to comment on my shit?
Starting point is 00:18:55 I'm just going to harass it. I'm going to be a number one troll, bro. I mean, you're a number one troll. Because I get to talk shit, and then I'm not going to ever see you. And if you come and fight me, then you like me. I'm going to go start. I'm going to try to figure out how to crash your stream. I'm trying to crash.
Starting point is 00:19:08 No, like, not crash shit by being on it. Like, find a way to crash that motherfucker. Yeah, you have friends that can do that. I do, actually. Yeah. So you better be careful. You better be real careful. Guys, Max Holloway fights Connor McGregor this weekend.
Starting point is 00:19:21 and you are the best, dude. You're the man. Don't do that. Hey, come, sit back down. Let me do my outro. Fights Connor McGregor this weekend at UFC 329? 329, yes, sir. You have...
Starting point is 00:19:32 Stop. All right, guys. Max Bless Holloway, fights Conne McGregor this weekend at UFC 329. Main event, T-Mobile Arena, 7th Island. Right? Seventh Island? Eighth. You don't know how to count it.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Oh! I knew it! I knew it! That's why I knew it was the 9th Island. I said 8th to fuck to 7th to fuck you. up and I absolutely got you. Guys, against Kammergaguer, UFC 329, rematch so long in the making,
