We are part of the volume podcast network live from our Tommy John Holmes Studios.
I am Chad Millman of the Action Network.
Folks, this is our Sunday night episode for the second week in a row.
We're going live while we are sweating.
the end of a game. Last week was tragic, horrific, created a moment that I know many of us will
remember. I do not because I blacked out the rest of this show while we sweat the end of this
Rams Seahawks game. Rams up by seven. Two-minute warning. They're about to punt the ball. We have the Rams
minus one and a half we need of the Rams for our lungs.
Other than that, we will review our five favorite picks that we put into the contest today,
dissect the games we left out, previewed the early lines we already like for week 10.
Folks, week 10.
I'm joined, as always, by my co-host, my companion, my Capadre, my professional better
Simon Hunter.
Hello, Simon.
Hello, Chad.
How we doing?
This is why we do it.
This is the fun.
This is the sweat.
this is the test. We've liked the Rams. We liked the Rams all week. We had a chance to take them out
when they were favorites. We decided to stick with it. We thought they were better team. This game has
been back and forth. We're going to get into it. But out of the corner of my eye, we're going to
sweat this game. I'm not going to mush us in any way, as they might have done last week with
the Chicago Bears. But this is the kind of day it's been. Okay, Simon, for me.
based on Sean Croner's advice on Convinced me this morning.
I bet Cody Barton over seven and a half tackles and assists in the Ravens Broncos games game to this morning.
He had seven and a half tackles and assists for the entire fourth quarter.
He did not cash.
He missed the eighth tackle on a penalty against the Broncos near the goal line that the Ravens accepted the penalty.
The play didn't count.
never got another. He never got in another play again. It's been a strange, challenging,
difficult day. Let's see if the Rams can get this punt off. You might be ahead of me right now,
but the last time they tried this in this area didn't work. They did. That's good news.
Fair catch by the Seahawks 154. Seahawks coming out on the field. Catch every episode of the

and Kentucky, a gambling problem called 1,800 gambler, 100 bets off in Iowa.
Terms, conditions, restrictions apply.
No, it's going to be a sweat.
This is going to be exhausting.
And Gene is not having the best game.
I mean, other than those insane deep downfield throws right now, he's not playing that great of a game.
So both quarterbacks, even Stafford.
Stafford, how many three ounces he had in this game?
Dude, that was in his hands.
That interception was in his hands.
He just ended the end.
Don't go Jigslist.
We know what's about to happen.
I know.
All right, here's the good news.
When we had our Sunday conversation,
we were starting to feel really good about the Giants at four and a half in the contest.
Ooh, yeah.
At three and a half in the contest.
And we still like New England at three and a half in the contest.
All of them ugly dogs.
Of course, we also loved the Packers at Three and a Half.
We had it locked in Thursday.
By Sunday, it was two.
and a half, we decided not to change anything because we wanted to keep the Packers line
and thank God because our favorites, the Buffalo Bills minus six, the New Orleans Saints
minus seven a half. They should have won both of those games by 30. It will be interesting
to see what Nick Giffin's expected scores for those games should have been because it's
tragic they didn't dominate those games.
The Patriots got all the bounces.
We hadn't gotten all season.
Thank God.
All right.
Gino just threw a short pass out of bounds because no one can tackle.
Thank God for the Patriots today.
I feel like because we've got this game sort of it's hard to get into
the games right now.
You know what we should do?
Let's talk about this game for a second.
Because to me, while we're watching this game,
we're going to jump ahead to the Rams minus four and a half.
It's fourth and five now.
So this might be over in literally 30 seconds, hopefully.
All right.
You're a little bit ahead of me.
So great.
Well, let's talk about this one anyways.
To me, like, the key moment was the end of the first half.
Like, in the red zone,
Stanford nearly throws a pick.
It's the first time in the red zone.
zone all game. This was a red zoneless game until nearly the end of the first half. He nearly
throws a pick on one play, a bat in completion, then a fumbled snap. This ain't over, unfortunately.
This is an ugly game. This is a true divisional game right here. Let's jump the other game just
co. We might have to come back to this one anyway. All right. So Miami Buffalo, we'll start back
at the beginning. The bill is driving in the red zone. Miami, like, it'd been a pretty close game.
early in the second quarter, Josh Allen hits Kean Coleman on a slant, two-yard line,
Coleman bibles the ball, bounces into J-Lylon Ramsey's hands.
The Finns then go on a 15 play, eight-minute drive to score a touchdown,
and that sort of let them find their rhythm.
And the bills couldn't ever get ahead in the way that they really needed to cover a six-point number.
It doesn't help that they missed an extra point and then nearly missed another extra point.
and when they finally get the lead of seven points midway through the fourth,
they then let Miami go 11 plays in five minutes
and only got them to third down once on that final drive.
What happened here?
It was a bunch of stuff.
I mean, obviously you just talked about, though,
they came out just sloppy offensively, right?
They couldn't really finish drives, put drives together,
kick the field goal to start the game.
But, I mean, we talked a little before he came on.
I just think that penalty in the first half,
They score a Josh Allen amazing rushing touchdown.
And they call it back on a fanting holding call.
And that kind of right there, we bet we talk about time.
You bet big favorites like this.
That four points is going to matter.
They kicked a three there instead of getting the four.
And that really did dictate the second half where, you know,
that would have been a different game if they're up 11 on that Miami team.
They could play that different defensive.
Instead, like you said, they were only up seven.
So Miami could still run the ball.
And that was the key to them in this game.
I mean, A. Chan dominated this game.
We really did.
And we got lucky.
They gave a couple of touches to Moster.
And Moster got, you know, stripped.
He foamed the ball.
I think someone punched it out.
It was like, okay, that's what we needed for our Buffalo bet.
But, yeah, they had a chance to win it.
I think it was fourth down, too, on that final drive by Miami.
They picked it up, you end up getting that touchdown, like you said.
It's a dead bet, especially at the number we bet it.
So that's life when you're betting these big favorites.
I will say that,
I still would have bet the bills.
They were our favorite bet all week.
It was tough.
I think we got buggered.
It was a bet we usually don't make.
We did.
It did not work out for us.
But like you just said,
it's one I'd always make in the future too.
I like that number.
I liked this spot.
And that didn't work out for me this week.
Another game we're going to talk about it.
It's the same thing with Green Bay.
It's like,
I like the number,
like the spot.
And we always talk about the bounces,
little things than go our way.
And the same thing happened in this Bill's game
where, you know,
that Josh Allen pick,
not his fault.
stupid play. Penalties didn't go our way. And yeah, great cover by Miami. New Orleans
at Carolina, Carolina minus seven and a half. Remember when I said on Thursday, we were leaning
towards leaning, we were leaning towards betting the worst QB against the spread in the past 20 years
and the worst coach against the spread in the past 20 years. Why do we think it was a good idea
to bet the Saints? I can't really hate it. Like the Panthers traded Deonté Johnson. Like they're
just, they had a bunch of injuries. They still have a bunch of injuries. They're
team the losing olivate killed us like derrick car losing his number one number two receiver
um because rshaed she's been out for a couple weeks now it's we saw it like it was tough for them
to keep a lead and then when elabe went out that team just seemed shook from that whole thing
of this guy getting knocked out of the game and um i'm with you like normally we're on the other
side of that one uh i did feel pretty good though once the game started i was like thank god we
took the saints too they're gonna roll this team but um yeah that was that was a bad bet saints outdoors
divisional game.
Usually rather the other side of that one.
So, yeah, I definitely regretted it.
Well, it wasn't even a lot of it.
Like, it was the first two drives.
They couldn't get into the end zone.
You know, they were, they kicked field goals.
Like, you get in the end zone on those two,
and you're having a different conversation.
And then Bryce Young didn't even do
a sort of stupid Bryce Young stuff,
where he always sort of throws an interception.
No, you had a good game.
Yeah, he played all right.
All right.
Let's talk about the last one we've lost.
at least officially so far today,
which is Green Bay.
Man, this one, this one hurts a lot.
Yeah.
Because this is the game that set the tone for our week
and the tone for our day.
We were so ready to fade
a peak lines team outside in terrible weather
for the first time, first game outside all day.
for the first time, first game outside all year.
And like initially, it looked like the Packers
should have been able to run all over them.
And the Lions,
we've been talking all year how the reason we're betting the Lions
isn't because of the fireworks of their offensive scheme.
It's only because their offensive line is so freaking good.
It's kind of what we saw today.
like in the rain, in the muck, in the wind.
Their offensive line overpowered the Packers.
Their run game was tremendous.
It made the difference the entire game.
It did, but it was also, you know,
Jordan Love, I think we saw in that game,
who's the young second year starting quarterback.
I think that really shined out.
Like golf, that moment did not seem too big for him in any way.
And not I know that love had an injury coming into this game and you know he didn't move great in the pocket or trying to get out of time
Seattle on the coin toss by the way. Oh geez. Same with um same can be said though about just you know everyone coming to that game was going to bet the lines. I thought we had a great number where okay this number might land on two two or three but there's no way we're not covering the three and a half. I just thought we had gotten such a great number especially we had a great number. Especially.
with the movement of the number.
Yeah.
And him dropping, Wicks dropping that touchdown the end zone.
We both knew it's like, okay, for them to get this back door
now, that chance is pretty much dead now.
And yeah, that was a huge game for Lines.
And I wish I could be happy as some of that bet Lions futures,
but we talk all the time.
Like futures market, I bet so little compared
to what I have on these games week to week.
Like the amount I'd just lost on Green Bay,
nukes the amount I'd win on the Lions win this division.
So I wish I could be happy about it,
because this is a big win if you were a Lions future bet.
But now that one's stunk, that was a bad bet.
This Lions team is just a juggernaut.
And we will catch them eventually right.
They will eventually have value in the other side.
I don't know when it's gonna be, Jack,
as you just nailed this was the spot.
Bad weather, everything kind of working against them.
And they were even playing that good.
That pick six by love flipped the whole thing.
And I wish I could say, well, that was just random.
But he's had a couple games now with those type
place where he just does too much.
So yeah, that was a tough loss and a bad bet.
Their run game, there was a key play to me.
The key play was the Packers are driving.
They've got a third and five.
It's an out route to Tucker Kraft.
He just drops it.
And then the very next play, they miss a field goal.
And instead of going from 7.
six, the lions then go down, they're up 10-3, and then the Packers do what they do,
which is be aggressive, which you'd want them to do.
But that's when the Kirby Joseph picks six happens.
And like, they couldn't get back into it.
You know, in fourth and one in the third quarter, Jared Goff, at this point, 13 of 15,
and they hand it to Jemir Gibbs.
He rushes straight up the middle for a touchdown.
Like, if you can't bet against this team
when they're playing outside anymore,
they just may be the greatest team in NFL history.
That's the only thing we can say.
No, I mean, we joked beginning of the year that
this team, the Saints, were like the new, the greatest show on turf.
We all know that this Lions team is that team, right?
They're this juggernaut offensively.
And in a game like today, their defense can now show up.
up, right? That's why we said the Aiden Hutchison was such a big loss because it's like they
finally have a pretty good complete defense. And, you know, that was, that was a huge deal to their
team. So, yeah, I can't believe it. Like, that was such a good number. That guy dropping that touchdown,
that's going to haunt me for the next, like, night. I'm trying to get, I'm going to hopefully get
over it by Tuesday show, but that's just, those are the ones that just, you know, they're just
brutal because you bet heavy on a number and you have a great number and you're feeling confident
in all week. And it's like, you know, you see the plays in your mind that kind of
can make the difference and they didn't happen.
And that's unfortunately part of sports buddy.

For betters, like, these are the nuances that matter, by the way.
Seahawks just gained another first down.
Back-to-back touchdowns in the afternoon games we needed, the Rams and the Packers,
with less than a minute left in the first half, that was excruciating, unlike fluke plays.
Those are the moments you don't forget that just haunt you.
I just want to remind you, the Rams dropped.
an interception that could have ended this game.
Yep.
It was in his hands and he dropped it.
And now we got...
They were dominating this whole game.
I just can't get over the fact
they gave up 13 points
in that last minute of the first half.
It's just...
It's on the coaching.
You want to blame the players,
but that's just, that's on the coaching.
Like, to make those kind of mistakes
defensively is just brutal.
Listen,
the game that may have saved our season today
Not to be dramatic.
New England Patriots at Tennessee Titans.
A day-saving miracle from a rookie QB coming off of a concussion on the road.
Yeah.
This is when betting makes the least sense.
We had New England plus three and a half at Tennessee.
And the first half was like full of all the missed opportunities that usually do must.
Yeah, Miss Field goal.
Doom bad teams.
Like we had the Miss Field goal.
They got a pick in their end zone in the Titans.
in their end zone, couldn't convert it into a touchdown.
They actually fumbled on the first play of the second half, but recovered it.
And then they went on a 16-play drive to take the lead.
Looked amazing.
The Titans tied it.
Drake May fumbles deep in his end zone.
I know.
Oh, no.
I think he was on his own 25 or 30.
I mean deep in his, deep in his territory.
And, Jesus, this game.
you know oh my god
well they stopped them so it's fourth and one so we'll see
oh dude you're so far ahead of me yeah um
hold up well hold on let's watch what happens here well i already told you they're
fourth and one i mean i'll tell you a second if they kick a field goal or no from that far ahead
of you got it um so we're not dead yet that would be hilarious if they tied then we do lose
this back because of a tie uh Drake may
fumbles the ball in zone 24, the Titans score a touchdown.
Then it's Drake Maytime, Simon.
Yeah.
Like, he convert in that final drive.
How do you not be excited if you're a New England Patriots?
Well, he, because he played like a real quarterback.
He ran when he had to run.
He made great throws downfield.
He takes on contact like an idiot, though.
There's a couple of times he runs in the guys.
You're like, dude, please protect your body.
Like, come on.
Okay, the Rams just called a timeout on fourth and one.
The Seahawks were going for it.
In this window, with the minute 45 left, I'm sure everybody saw it.
He converted two third downs, a fourth down, scrambled 15 seconds, gets hit.
He's going down, lofts a miracle into the end zone to Remandre Stevenson touchdown.
How do they not go for two?
I don't know, but you, I was screaming.
I was literally cursing that guy's name.
I was like, Mayo is the worst coach in football.
How do you not go for two?
How do you not go for two?
You got a tired defense.
You have all the momentum.
It doesn't make sense why he did that.
I mean, that's just an issue of he doesn't have an analytics guy on the sideline with him to talk to him,
just telling the numbers where it's like mathematically, that's the spot.
Your team with nothing to lose, try to steal the game right there.
Over time, it never works out for you.
Oh, my God.
God, we're not dead yet.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Don't tell me.
This is the craziest game.
Don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
How am I so far behind you?
This is ridiculous.
Oh my God.
He didn't get it.
I'll send my guy up to you next weekend.
I'll get you on that new cable.
Wow.
Yeah.
I mean, this is going to be painful because I'm already back in.
Now it's like, okay, Stafford, just get us the field goal.
But, man, we've lost and won this game about 20 times.
And I legit need this.
I'm going to have a rough day betting.
Simon, this is exhilarating.
This is why we do it.
It's why our whole community is here with us right now to enjoy the roller coaster of emotions
that we are sharing with everybody in this moment as we try to Will the Rams to not tie
this freaking game.
Enjoy it, because I rarely sweat.
This is a true sweat, though, because I need this one for today.
I had some.
It was an ugly day.
It was a.
a hard day. It wasn't great.
Boom, Stafford, baby.
Oh, goodness. Listen, just do the play-by-play because you're so far ahead of me.
No, I can't relive what you did last. That did not just happen. He did not just throw it into
triple coverage to one guy who could come out with it.
Oh, my God. That was insane. Listen, the last thing we're
I do want to say.
The last thing we're going to say about the Patriots,
he should have gone for two.
Yeah.
Like, we may have already gotten our miracle today
because the Titans had a 12-play drive.
It took seven minutes, eight rushes.
They are beating up on a defense that you just noted as tired.
On third and two from the seven,
they're clearly going to run it in, likely get the first down.
Mason Rudolph fumbles a snap.
They kick a field goal.
We get a win on the board.
Come on, Matthew.
Oh my God.
Yeah, and the Patriots, I will say that number we talked about it though, like in what world should Tennessee have been three and a half favorites against anybody?
I don't care if the Patriot is the worst team of football.
Like, I'm so glad we didn't get scared off because that was probably the biggest public dog of the week.
I mean, everybody, then Denver, you know, at Denver might have, I think Denver on our app had more bets or more tickets.
Yeah.
But that was a game, honestly.
I loved and I bet it.
you could have talked me out of it this morning
because I just saw before we hopped on a call
I was like wow all the money is coming
so heavy on this Patriots team
it's still three and a half
so we definitely got lucky on the May play
but that was also a bad read
by the sports book hanging that three and a half
we got very lucky
I never really thought about talking you out of it
I will tell you as we're still waiting
for this Rams and Seahawks game to end
the one game I was
want to pick a knit is the Chargers.
I felt like the Chargers might have been one of my best handicaps of the season.
I had this team nailed.
And when we talked about it during the week, betting is riding the wave and betting is getting
off the wave.
And we were together, I thought, in getting off the Jamis wave.
Like we didn't believe, oh, my God, Matthew Staffer going for it.
That's past interference and a touchdown.
That was a good handicap.
Thank God we needed that.
Oh, my God.
Oh, man.
Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
That was insane.
It's both insane.
And it never should have come down to this play.
No, but it was fun ride.
Now that we won, that was a fun ride.
That was a great ride.
Yeah.
It was so much of it.
I know how much you pissed off.
Matt, Matt, just because that was terrible podcasting, but God damn did I love it.
I know, Matt, you can tell us in the chat how terrible podcasting that was, but...
He has, he has.
The one game I want to pick a knit on is that Chargers game.
Yeah, I loved it all week.
And, like, the Winston thing, everything you said was true.
No, they're legit.
I got to give credit to that Chargers team.
I mean, that's a playoff team win.
They went in there and posed their will.
They dominated them.
Yeah, they're a better team.
I thought they were going to be this year, honestly.
And that was, you know, as much as I want to give shit to James and the Browns,
that they just played a team that just seemed better and more prepared, right?
And, you know, like you said, that was a good call by you.
That would be a letdown spot.
But it's, yeah, it's a game.
I honestly, I had a little bit better on the Browns.
I threw them on our money line around Robin Parley.
And, yeah, I definitely missed the mark on that one.
Just think if we had taken the Saints out instead of the,
chargers, we'd be sitting here at three and two on the day instead of two and three.
No, our, yeah, now, there was a couple of bad ones.
I mean, the one that really stakes stuck out was like, I don't know how we both got sucked back into Dallas.
Like, I was on Atlanta.
I know.
Bet Atlanta minus two and a half.
And then once I got the three and a half Dallas, it was like, okay, this is too much.
The value shifted a three and a half to this Dallas team.
And it's like, no, that was properly numbered.
That was, that was a bad read.
So yeah, this week, I feel lucky right now seeing here at two and three.
because it could have been easily 0 and 5,
but I told you before the show,
I'm selfish.
I feel like we should have been 4 in 1.
So of all the games,
the worst bet to me was that,
like you just said,
that Saints game.
That was a bad bet.
Look, I feel like this is the most exciting two and three.
When is the last time we had a two and three
that landed on a one-handed catch in overtime to win the game
and a 15-second scramble to tie?
high the game and then getting a fumble to,
and forcing the field goal so we cover by the hook.
This might have been the day where we ate up a lot of the goodwill.
We were owed.
I told you it was going to go the other way eventually.
Like we just, even today, we still had a lot of bullshit go the other way,
but that's just, that's just betting.
But, no, I can't wait to break down these upcoming lines the next week
because it feels like there's a lot of teams that, like you just said,
we're going to get value on just because they were so unlucky.
Then the luck rank is going to reflect that this upcoming week.
Favorites were 12 and 1 straight up this week.
Yeah, terrible day for the money line around Robin.
All right, so some early lines.
And some early lines, to me, one that stood out right away,
Tennessee Titans are nine and a half point underdogs to the Los Angeles Chargers.
That Titans defense is just good.
I know they're on the road.
It's already down to seven and a half.
All right.
Well, there you go.
So I guess I was right.
You're sharp.
You're sharp.
Very sharp.
All right.
Well, that was run.
One, I think we'll still talk about it.
Seven and a half still feels really high to me.
You're still getting the hook at the seven.
What did you think of Denver, nine and a half of Kansas City?
I don't hate it.
Like, I don't mind bedding it right now.
if you want to.
But I think we saw a little bit of what this Denver team can be, right,
against this Ravens team.
That they are young.
They are inexperienced.
They have been playing some bad teams.
And it seems like when things are going good, they're able to beat up on these bad teams.
But I wouldn't rush to bet it because if the chiefs roll,
if they absolutely roll the bucks tomorrow, you might be able to get 10.
Like there's no, there's no other than us coming back on this,
this Buccaneers team, right?
I mean, the public is going to be totally off of them
after this, after last week.
So that's a number.
I don't think you need a rush to get,
but I do like where your head's out
where it's like, you know,
if this number gets that high in this divisional game,
that's going to reach a point of value
for this Denver team.
Pittsburgh, two and a half point underdogs
against the Washington commanders.
That's a,
that feels.
either like the absolute right play to get a Mike Tomlin,
rah-rah as a dog to take on this young whippersnapper quarterback.
Like that is the perfect smash spot for this Steelers defense.
It is, but like I get, people going to be pissed to me because I was so high on the
giant team because it was the same thing last week where it was like a good spot,
but you're exactly right.
like this Pittsburgh team is much better than that Giants team and defensively there are ways
they can attack this Washington team that's going to give them problems but I'm not going to lie
Chad Jaden Daniels is scary man like I thought today he wouldn't play that well and he just had a couple
moments that are just so it's just so incredible that we're like you just said we're into week nine
here and he's still playing at this veteran high level like he hasn't hit that rookie wall like you
You watched a lot of the Bears say of Caleb Williams.
He's incredibly talented kid, but there's moments where he looks like a rookie.
That is normal.
That should be happening to a rookie.
And the kid Jan Danos doesn't have these moments.
He breaks a lot of the rules, I'll be honest.
And I know that I wouldn't be praising him as hard as I would be if we got that two-pointer
and got the cover, but they're about to walk in for another touch on that game.
This easily could have been a double-digit blowout by Washington if they had chose so.
So I'm with you.
I'll be on Pittsburgh, but this is another line that it's two and a half right now.
Doesn't the Joe public come in heavy on Washington here?
I mean, you get the three.
Yeah.
Sometimes when we're having this conversation, it's not so much, are we going to bet it right now?
It's sort of which way are we leaning?
Oh, yeah.
What would be the indicators to make us say, hey, we want to hold, hey, we want to get this right now?
Yeah, I would hold because I absolutely like, I like Pittsburgh.
and I want to take them here, but it's like, this jumps out is going to be 80% of the money,
80% of tickets are going to come here on Washington.
Like a two and a half, that's going to be a really huge public play this upcoming week.
Yeah, but the second it gets to three, it's going to be there for 30 seconds and be gone.
That's what I mean you shine, though.
Put your alerts on.
Get in the action app.
Put your alerts on.
Everyone get into the Action Network app.
Turn on your line alerts for the Steelers plus three.
Just be ready.
And you got to be awake.
you've got to have eight phones that will wake you up
the second it happens
because it's going to happen at about 2.30 a.m. tonight.
That's when it's going to happen.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Right.

Yeah.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.

It wouldn't be a huge surprise

I got two other games,
and then I want you to tell me yours
before we get out of here.
You're going to hate mine.
I can't wait.
Jacks plus five and a half, Minnesota.
That's a big number.
So yeah, I like the Jags off,
I guess right away.
I like the Jags,
but it's another game
where tonight Vikings roll.
We'll get a six.
Yep.
So like I like that the books are hanging
these numbers where they know
they know which way the, like they're hanging these known
which way the public's gonna come early on here.
And that's, this is definitely an enticing number.
I mean, this is gonna be an easily a teased down number.
Why would you not tease the Vikings down?
They're the better team.
Jaguars do not know to close out games.
Like they should have won today against the Eagles.
Trevor Lawrence had all the momentum.
Eagles, defense was on their heels.
They were exhausted and he threw a gift of an interception.
It's we talk all the time about these high draft picks.
Like some of the guys just have it and some guys don't.
And it's clear he does not have.
it. He doesn't have the game winning drive, Gene. He's got the good garbage time, Gene.
That's why, again, the Drake Mid thing was so exciting. It's like, who cares if his whole season's
terrible? You just saw him run a two-minute drill, guys in his face, back foot, throwing a dime
in the corner of the end zone. Like, that's not coachable. That's God-given talent and living up to the
moment. And Trevor Lawrence is the opposite of that. He just has not lived up.
to the moment in any sense of the board.
In some weird arcane world of the internet,
somebody needs to reassess that Jags come back win
against the chargers and the playoffs
and see how much of it was Brandon Staley being a terrible coach
and not knowing how to hold a lead
and Jacksonville playing great and doing miraculous things
and Trevor Lawrence showing for a moment he might have it
because that game is sort of the example
that everyone uses when they say,
what about that game?
And so that game should be reassessed
if you're going to be thinking
about what Trevor Lawrence is
for the rest of his career.
The last game on my list.
Yes, sir.
Houston plus three and a half, Detroit.
Already up to four and a half.
Yeah, but we're going to have to talk about
because I feel like we can't do it.
I mean, we just saw last Thursday,
he's got no receivers in Houston right now,
and his offensive line can't block anybody.
Like, I don't know if this is enough movement for this Houston side, but I want to be on Houston.
So yeah, give me a six and a half.
And I feel like I'm all in.
But at this number, I'm still tempted honestly to go Detroit.
All right.
Tell me what you got.
All right.
First one, I mean, it's just, I know you're going to hate it, but I feel like we have to do it.
Saints plus three at home against Atlanta.
Dude, I looked at that.
And I looked at that.
How do we not sell on Atlanta?
I looked at that.
I know.
I'm not a lot.
to rush to take it because I want to see if Olave is going to be able to be back this week.
If it meant so much to have Olave not be in the game against the Panthers, it's going to mean
more to not have him in the game against the Falcons.
I know you'll be able to scheme all week because he won't be in, but they don't have any weapons.
And Drake London might be out of this game as well for Atlanta, so that could cancel each other
out.
But that, that's just a very enticing number, that number at plus three.
The next one is, I mean, the Eagles are minus seven on the road in that.
Dallas. Yeah, but we don't know if DAC is going to play.
That's true. He left the game with it. He left the game with a hampsom. The Eagles are going to be out with AJ, AJ Brown. So, Sequin got a little banged up in this game. Like it's, there's a lot to love with that Dallas number and just how big it is. A game I didn't bet. I just want to get your, your opinion on. Monday night are the Rams are minus two and a half against that Miami team. Don't we grab that now? I saw that. And like,
Like, honestly, I know we just feel like we got away with one there, but like, yeah, we talked
that. We, we, two, two is not good against good teams. And this, this Rams team, as much we want
to give them shit for, this was a complete team win today. Like that was, that's what good teams do.
They win games. They shouldn't win. So there were two reasons why I didn't bring it up.
One was, I already saw us looking at Houston. And so I was nervous about bringing up to back-to-back
primetime games Sunday night, Monday night.
And I was waiting on to see what happened
with the end of the Seahawks game.
Yeah, I just want to grab it just because I think that number
goes up to three, so I just want to grab the two and a half now.
Look, this NFC West is fascinating right now.
The Cardinals are five and four, looking better every game.
I mean, the bears are tragic.
Like what happened to them today?
Just a mishmash of continued, undisciplined play.
And today it was all on the defense.
We talked about, though.
They're a young team.
That's a lot to overcome in a week.
I mean, even you joked, it's hard for you to get it off your mind.
You're a grown-ass man.
Imagine being a 20-something kid.
I mean, it's tough to move past that you really do need to be the veteran team.
Yeah, but I've been with the Bears longer, so it should take me longer to get over it.
Like, these guys, they just got there.
They might not even be there next year.
I can guarantee you the coach isn't going to be there next year.
So I'm surprised the coach got on the freaking plane because the reason they lost this game is because of the defense.
The defense was truly terrible.
The defense against run was awful.
By the way, what did Kyler Murray end up at for his past?
Way under.
Way under.
Was that at like 150?
You nailed that.
You were on, convinced me today.
You said take Kyler under 2.15 and a half.
He ended up at 160 or whatever.
He had 65 in the first half.
Great call by Simon on Kyler Murray under.
So I don't feel like we have consensus on anything tonight, which is fine.
We don't have to make bets.
Really?
you don't love that Rams bet?
Oh no, we have the Rams bet.
That's it.
I think that's the only one.
I kind of like, I kind of like,
I think I like Tennessee more than you do.
Because I don't think the chargers are going to play the kind of game
where it's an automatic blowout.
Some of the things that happen today.
No, no, that's fair.
But I told you, the key of the charges, though, is they make you make the mistake.
Mason Rudolph, Will Levis, they love to make mistakes.
So like that's just my hesitation with that big number,
because this plays into what the charges want teams to do.
It's like they just wear these guys out
and they just wait for it.
And once you make the mistake, the game's over, right?
Every time they win, they win the turnover battle.
That's the type of team they've been this season.
Yep.
Are we missing anything else?
No, I mean, I have two more games I wanna talk about,
but then I don't wanna run through every game.
We gotta make sure that people come and check us out Tuesday.
So just, I'm excited to talk more about it,
but like that Ravens, they're minus six right now
against Cincinnati Bengals.
I'm going to take the plus six.
Like Joe Burrell against that defense,
if you want to grab that number early with me,
I'll grab that now because I think that number goes down as well.
That's just too many points for a guy like him
that should have T. Higgins back against a defense
that can't really stop good passing offenses.
Simon, I feel like this was the entire circle of life today on this show.
We were down.
We were up.
We overcame obstacles.
We triumphed in the end.
We made good decisions.
We made bad decisions.
We got through it together.
We were partners.
We were BFFs.
We were compadres.
This is what it's all about.
This is why we bet together.
This is why we all bet generally.
The ups, the downs, the good, the bad, the thrill, tragedy.
It's life.
