Now it's starting to all come together. We knew March 15 was the free agency period, which over the last four or five, six years, young GMs got very frenetic in the NFL. People didn't make trades like this seven, eight years ago.

Now it's crazy. So March 15th, we know the first. is going to be all sorts of free agent moves. But they're already starting this morning. Already trades, moves, signings starting this morning. You see the color of the sweater I'm wearing? Saw it? Today the little jet screen.

We're in morning. Didn't get Derek Carr, and Plan B is a little messy, shall we say. A little messy. Okay, so here it is. Derek Carr, with the Raiders, led the NFL in fourth quarter comebacks. A lot of people label them as good. I see him as a top 12 quarterback in the league. somewhere 10, 11, 12, always liked him more than everybody else. I think he's good in crisis.

He's been a life preserver from a sinking raider vessel forever. He is now going to the Saints. It is a four-year deal. Now, your first thought is, oh, boy, defensive coach. He knows Dennis Allen. A little bit of a party city. He's not a party guy. Well, he was in Vegas. He can handle that. Here's my takeaway is when you start comparing why he took it over other jobs. Let's play that. game. So it's very good. The Saints have a very good veteran roster. The Jets wanted him, but most of their players that are good are kids moving into their second year, third year. Got a lot of veterans who are stars with the Saints. How about Carolina? I thought he would go to Carolina. I thought that was a great pick. But Carolina still is in rebuild. Now, I think

Carolina's got some really good pieces, but they are still viewed as a rebuild franchise. How about the media? Well, New York's got a hostile, intense, big city media. New Orleans doesn't. How about the division? I don't know. Mahomes twice a year. Sean Payton now and Russell Wilson twice a year.

Derek Carr is easily this morning the best quarterback in his division. But I find when people get divorced, kicked to the curb, whether they initiated it or not, they're going to seek things they didn't have in the previous relationship. ship. So think about this way. If you think about a front office, I mean, one of the reasons Patrick Mahomes is winning, they got a really good front office. The Raiders front office is a perpetual chaotic mess. The Saints front office is Mickey Loomis, stability, one of the best drafting franchises in the NFL. So he goes to a highly functional, highly stable front office that is drafted about as well as anybody in football last seven, eight, nine,

years. Raiders couldn't provide it. The Saints will. Stability. Excellence front office. Defense. Derek Carr's never had a good defense. Ever. Go ask Tom Brady about the Saints defense. It gave him fits. First day, last day in that division. The Saints have had a top 10 defense the last three years. So again, the Saints are providing two things. The Raiders never could. an elite defense. He doesn't have to win every game by shootout against Patrick Mahomes, shootout against Justin Herbert, and this year would have been shootouts,

more of those against Sean Peyton and Russell Wilson. Now he's facing bad quarterbacks, coaches we don't know a lot about, and rebuilding rosters. So he gets a great defense. He can win 2017 occasionally. That didn't happen with the Raiders. He didn't always have to come from behind.

He has more come from behind wins than any other quarterback in the end. NFL since he was drafted. Why? Because they're always giving up 28 and 30 points. It's the only way the Raiders can win is a shootout. That's done, especially with the bad quarterbacks in the division. And the other thing is, this is an elite front office. So he goes and gets, it's also a winning culture. There's also stability with the Benson family and Mickey Loomis. You get stability, winning culture, elite defense, grown up front office, all the stuff the Raiders couldn't provide. So my takeaway in 2023 is I would always if I could as a quarterback choose an offensive head coach,

but he knows Dennis Allen. Dennis Allen was with the Raiders before. Carr knows him. There's familiarity when you go to a new city. That's a real thing. So I get it. Good defense finally, great front office finally, winning culture, stability. He is right now.

If Aaron Rogers retired this morning, Derek Carr is in a small. group of best quarterback in the NFC. I mean, if Aaron Rogers leaves and you hear stories this morning, that's a possibility. I get it. It's not what I predicted, but I get it. And so let's move to this story. Daniel Jeremiah, real smart guy, believes Aaron Rogers will be a New York jet. He better be.

They're running out of options. Brady retired, Cars with the Saints, and Garapolo. is a much better fit with the Raiders. He knows the coach. He knows the system. They've got a left tackle. They've got great weapons. That's just a better fit.

The Raiders are a better fit than the Jets that have a defensive coach that he doesn't really know. So let me just throw this out there. I was just having this discussion with somebody over the weekend, actually, that if you're going to make a big decision in your life and you're kind of stressed out about it, you're putting all this weight on yourself. to make this big decision. And that's what we all do, right?

What am I going to do with my job? What am I going to do with my business? What am I going to do with my friend? Or you're dating somebody. And there's this big decision coming. We all tend to do something. We put all the pressure on ourselves. And I was telling somebody, I said, you know, take a deep breath and let the market or

your employer, let them make part of the decision for you. people will show you who they are take a deep breath let your employer let your girlfriend let your boss let your company let them make decisions they'll make most of the decision for you and so robert salla we know this has to win right and the gm joe douglas in new york better win because he whiffed at quarterback and left tackle even though i think joe's excellent he whiffed it two huge positions. He's got to fix the quarterback situation. So Brady's done, cars signed, Garoppel is probably going to the Raiders. Green Bay has this big, big decision to make, right?

Oh my God, what do we do with Aaron Rogers? This morning, because of the Derek Carr signing with the Saints, Green Bay by being patient, take a deep breath on Aaron Rogers, has much more leverage. The jets are trapped. they're not getting Garoppolo. They're not getting Derek Carr. Tom Brady retired. In that division, with Josh Allen twice a year,

Belichick twice a year, a certainly capable Mac Jones twice a year, Tua and Mike McDaniel's offense twice a year. Congrats on having Sauce Gardner. He wasn't helping you last year win games. You got to get a quarterback. Carr, Garoppolo, Brady, gone, gone, gone. What are you going to do?

You're going to overpay for Jimmy Garoppolo. I mean, like massively overpay. You could get him that way. but you don't know you're going to get 15, 16 games, right? Maybe you get 12. You still get fired. You got to get Aaron Rogers. So here's Green Bay, Friday, probably thinking, we got a big decision to make.

This morning, the Jets desperate come in and say, we'll pay part of Aaron's salary. So Green Bay could get cap relief by the Jets paying for some of Aaron Rogers and draft capital. You got Jordan Love in the building. the GM keeps saying we think Jordan Love's good enough to play. I mean, we saw him last year. He wasn't overwhelmed. He looked pretty good. I mean, I don't know.

I mean, it's like the Loch Ness Monster. I don't get video much. Every decade, I get a piece of video. But from what I've seen with Jordan Love, I don't know. Looks like it could work in that division. Detroit's defense is bad. Minnesota's defense wasn't very good. The Bears defense stinks.

It's not the greatest defensive division, right? Jordan Love. offensive line, star running back, capable tight ends, emerging star receiver, Christian Watson. I don't know. Offensive head coach. So every time you think you've got a big decision in your life and you're putting all this pressure on yourself, as a guy in his 50s, let me tell you, people often help you with that decision. Just take a deep breath and be patient. Somebody is listening to my show right now. They're in their car driving around. There's that guy, I got to make a big decision in the next week. Take a deep breath.

people will show you who they are. And my takeaway this morning is Green Bay's got leverage. They got a quarterback that's expensive, that's kind of making them wait. They got the other kid in the building. They got a really viable roster and a capable offense and a division full of bad defenses.

I don't know. I look at a Jets franchise right now. They are running out of options. And Daniel Jeremiah is like, the Jets want him. This morning, the Jets need him. I look at Green Bay this morning. You're Green Bay.

Just give us one first round pick in a second and pay some of the salary. I don't know. They got all their draft picks and develop in my lifetime. In recent years, Green Bay always drafts and develops well. This is not a desperate franchise. They need an edge rusher. If Jordan Love can play, get them another receiver, a tight end in the draft, give them an edge rusher.

Absolutely can win the division. we all put too much pressure on ourselves. Derek Carr just did the Packers a huge, huge solid. J. Mack, you're looking disgusted this morning. You think I'm wrong on that? I love the audience. He's got to love this. Colin's like, just give us the first round pick and eat some of his salary.

No big deal. Well, what else you're going to do? That's the problem. You're trapped. If I'm the Jets, I call the bluff. I say, no, he's yours. We don't want Aaron Rogers. He's yours.

Keep him. And then you're fired because Josh Allen twice a year. Mac Jones and Bella checked twice a year and that Miami offense before Tua was hurt was dropping 29 a game. And the speculation is Jimmy Garapolo has been ticketed for the Raiders for a long time. There's just no talk about Garapolo.

So what do you got, Marcus Marietta? No, no, you're, this is it. But I've talked to Eric Mangini about this. He had the same decision with Farv. He did not necessarily want Farve. The owner wanted Farve. But, guess what? Farve went off first 11 games.

Farb was 83. And then he cratered at the end of the season. He got hurt. He fired Mangini and everybody. Man, Janie's not happy with it. I'm guaranteeing you, Robert Tala is not going to be happy at the end of the season. Derek Carr this morning to the Saints. Don't you think Green Bay this morning is looking at this going?

Yes, yes. We have the last star quarterback on the market. We've got him. Oh, well, what about James Winston? The Jets. Oh, God, give me a break. I'm over that. No, I think Green Bay this morning looks really powerful.

Now, that whole Aaron Rogers dynamic, now we, we, we, Let me just slide this in. Bears go to the Jets. Hey, you want Justin Fields? Would you take Justin Fields or Aaron Rogers? Aaron Rogers. That's salary? Dude, I'm not sure Justin can play.

Aaron can play. High level. What is it? The 10th straight losses? Maybe. Kind of scares me off a little. A little bit. All right, NBA stuff today.

So I watched the entire game on my Delta flight. And my takeaway is Dallas is what I thought they would be. And Phoenix is what I thought they would be because Kevin Durant is absolutely amazing. He was dominant, made plays on the defensive side. But mostly he is the great plug and play

guy in the NBA. You could put them on any team all time and it would work. Increasingly in the NBA, many of the best players constantly need the ball. Luca, Jah Morant, Tray Young, Donovan Mitchell, guys I like James Harden, Westbrook, they have to have the ball. Therefore, they're hard to fit into an offense. Not KD. KD's like, bruh, get it to me whenever, I'll get you a bucket. Sometimes a two, sometimes a dunk, sometimes a three. That's why I said he's going to fit in immediately and through three games, the sons are 3 and O, they've all been road games, they've won all of them, and do you know what his averages are through three games in Phoenix? 27, 7 and 4.

His career averages. He doesn't have to change one bit, and nobody around him has to change one bit. You can put this dude in any movie. It's like Robert De Niro. Put him in a comedy, meet the parents, great. A thriller, Cape Fear, great. Mob movie. Good fellas.

Great. He's great in everything. Sometimes De Niro doesn't even have to talk. Sometimes he talks briefly. Sometimes he's kind of off screen. He still wins the scene. You don't have to build the movie around Bob De Niro. It can be any genre, any type, young, old, comedy, thriller.

It doesn't matter. Great is great. You could take the best team of all time. Many believe the best two teams ever are the warriors. You put them on that offense with Klan Steff. It's good. I'll go stand in the corner. They were unbeatable.

If you put them on the Chicago Bulls, M.J. Pippin, just replace Koo Coach with him. They'd be a better version. Replace Pippin with him. They'd be a better version. But if you put Kareem on those Bulls teams, he'd take shots away from Michael. It would change the ecosystem.

If you put Magic or LeBron on the team, they'd take the ball to Michael's hands. Mike liked to control it late. Not Durant. Durant would be like, Mike, you have the ball. You get doubled. I'm over in the corner. Durant works with everybody and every offense and every coach.

Think about Brooklyn. It was a complete circus. Harden came and out of shape. Kyrie wasn't available. Simmons afraid to shoot. And a rookie head coach. And what did KD do? 27-7 and 4.

It's never been a player quite like him. In the history of all the great players, If you put them on that warrior team with Steph and Clay and Draymond, it would Kareem on that team, MJ on that team, it would change the team, maybe for the worse. But it would change the team. LeBron was Stefan Clay, who's got the ball? Magic was Stefan Clay, who's got the ball? Yet Durant was seamless with the Warriors.

He'd be seamless with the Bulls. He doesn't need the ball to get you 27, 7 and 4. He can be a decoy. Speaking roll, off screen, on screen, it always works. And that's why this was so predictable. I mean, he walks into Phoenix. He gets five practices. They go on the road.

They're 3-0. Played some good defense, had a couple of key blocks. Here's Katie after the win yesterday. No emotions at all. It's another game. Like I told somebody earlier, most of my career, I played against Kyrie. So he was on my team for the last couple years, but the majority of my career, I played against him, so I know how I feel. I just think that we both locked in on the floor.

We want to go out there and be the best that we can be. And sometimes you get distracted trying to hang out and talk and catch up on old time with your friends. So both was locked in, and I'm glad we got the W. Let me tell you something. It's a great reminder that you don't have to have the ball in your hands all the time, Trey Young. John Morant, Donovan Mitchell, Luca, Kyrie. You don't have to have the ball in your hands all the time. Katie is the best plug-and-play guy maybe ever in this sport.

Just get me the ball wherever, whenever, and I'll get you a bucket. And on the defensive end, unlike a lot of other great offensive young players, he can make a stop too. Did a couple of times yesterday. J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. You didn't pile on Luca Dunchitz for missing the layup at the end of the game.

It happens. It happens. He's great. I'm not knocking him. I just think he needs the ball in his hands. And he and Kyrie, it's not much of a defensive effort, is it? Did you love the Kyrie Irving versus Devin Booker moment? I know there was a Luca versus Booker. But some fans' courtside caught Kyrie Irving getting into it with Devin Booker. I love that. That's a feisty rivalry. Oh, we need that in the playoffs. Yeah, no, Dallas and Phoenix, they've got just enough. ego to make it interesting. I mean, you've got a lot of stars. Booker, KD. Luca, Kyrie. Yeah, those four guys combined for 137 points. Those four guys are for the 10 best

offensive players currently in the entire planet. Devin Booker had a great quote talk to the media said, listen, you guys say how everybody's friendly in this league, well, you got to smoke now. There is smoke here. Like, they don't like each other. I love that. We need that series. It was a great game. All right, let's go to the NFL. CJ Stroud, one of the top prospects at quarterback in this upcoming draft. You know, recent reports suggest the Bears will probably end up trading the first pick and keeping Justin Fields.

However, Stroud is kind of happy because he doesn't want to take Chicago's starting job from his friend. I don't want to go there. I mean, that's his team. So, but I mean, I think I can do my, I'm going to do my thing. I got to go build my legacy.

And I know he's rude to me. He texts me yesterday morning. So me and him are brothers for life. He had a very good, I didn't watch a ton of combine, but the little clips I saw, C.J. Stroud, who I do think there's some comparisons to Justin Herbert at Oregon that we thought he had a lot of boxes checked, but we didn't think he was that mobile. And then we watched the Rose Bowl with Justin against Wisconsin, and we were like, oh, crap. And then you watch C.J. Stroud against Georgia, and you're like,

oh, I didn't know he could run. I don't know. I'll say this about C.J. Stroud. He's really accurate throwing the football the second he arrived in Columbus. He didn't grow into it. He's been a 68 percent completion guy. People like Anthony Richardson. He completes 53%. Florida's got NFL players, too. So the two times I had attended the Combine, Colin, some of the smarter people said to me, just forget about what everybody else is talking about. Anthony Richardson stole the show. Everybody's talking about Bryce Young's height and weight. There were a couple bomb throws from Will Levis. I didn't hear a lot of buzz about C.J. Stroud. I think that's by design. I think that's because people like him more than they're letting on. Yeah. He had a really good combine.

No, it's a very good point. Did he also kind of make the point here that he doesn't want to go to Chicago? Like, I don't want to play for that Bears organization, outdoors, cold weather. I don't know. I wonder. He's just Justin Herbert. All we were talking about in that draft was too, uh, when Joe Burrow in that draft. And it was like nobody was talking about Herbert, the quiet Oregon kid.

And all of a sudden you look up and you're like, wow, big strong. I mean, C.J. Stroud and Herbert, quiet. football powers, accurate, mobile we discovered later, high completion. There's a lot of, there's a lot of similarities with those two.

I don't think it's a hot take. You would rather take Stroud at two for Houston over Bryce Young, wouldn't you? I think Bryce is the best quarterback. I think Bryce is, but, but Stroud's much bigger, much, he's a bigger, stronger athlete. I tend to always lean toward that.

I would go Stroud as well. Next up, Florida quarterback, Anthony Richardson. Obviously, he was the star calling. And this highlight reel is insane. He looks like Superman. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, the guy set records for the vertical jump of 40 and a half inches. What was Michael Jordan's vertical?

Like, 43, 40 something like. I mean, he's jumping like an NBA superstar, broad jump of 10 feet, 9 inches, and a 4.430, which is basically wide receiver speed. I think he was as fast as Bejohn Robinson, the Texas running back. Everybody coming out of the combine is saying he's the next Josh Allen. He's the next Josh Allen. Colin, tell me you're going to, can you please pour some cold water on these? The one comparison I heard was Cam Newton. Oh.

And I'm like, does everybody remember how great Cam Newton was in college? Time out. And I'm not a huge Cam Newton fan. In the SEC, he was unstoppable. And if you go to Cam's early years, his first year in their league, Cam was doing things nobody could do. So they may physically have similarities. Cam Newton in college, his last year, was a refined,

dominating, highly productive player. At that time, the SEC, it's always been the best defensive conference, but we didn't have the dynamic offenses in college football. It was a defensive conference, and he was dominating. Cam, you watched a game and you were like, that's the best player in college. He was unstoppable. By far. This, I watched this young quarterback play twice, like really watched him.

The Utah game. Yes. And I just came away talented but unconvinced. It's anything more than a big, strong athlete. The CAM comparisons just fall flat to me. One number that I was able to find here, Anthony Richardson under pressure in the pocket last season. Remember, he only had 12 starts in college.

That's it. Josh Allen started for two years. Richardson under pressure in the pocket, 38% completions. That's like near the bottom of Division I in college football. Yeah. He's a project, guys. Just YouTube Cam Newton at Auburn. It's no contest.

Cam Newton was top three college player for a year. I think I've ever seen in college. Vince Young is one of those. Reggie Bush. You're like, whoa, whoa, that doesn't look like anybody else. But the Cam Newton stuff, yeah, they're both big, strong guys. Cam through a beautiful ball, could sit in the pocket. People all over him deliver strikes.

It feels like the market for Richardson is Detroit or Seattle, drafting their prospect because they have Jared Goff and Gino Smith. All right, the final story here, Dallas Cowboys, Colin, we're wrapping up with quarterbacks here. Dak Prescott is their franchise quarterback, obviously. But finding success will be a bigger challenge going forward as he takes up more and more cap space. Jerry Jones is as confident as ever, DAC is in their long-term future. I've really felt for quite a while that DAC has the ability. I don't want to dare do this to DAC or me or anybody.

But I think just as Brady became, in my mind, better and better and more impactful on how they won as he got into his career, I think DAC really has those qualities. I think he can get better. When I see something on the field that would like to do that would like to do that. logically tell you, you need to start looking ahead, i.e. past that. I don't see that kind of thing happening in the next years. Oh, I totally disagree. I think we absolutely see exactly what Dak is. He is not capable of carrying a franchise. They mostly have to carry him. And the minute he doesn't have like two elite receivers, go look at his numbers with and without Amari Cooper.

I like Dak. But we've said it before. He's Kirk Cousins with a better brand. The numbers line up across the board. That when you give Kirk Cousins Justin Jefferson, Delvin Cook, a redeemable offensive line, solid tied in. You get a playoff caliber team. That's Dak. If you took Justin Jefferson out tomorrow, what is Kirk Cousins?

Not in the playoffs. You take C.D. Lamb out. You took Amari Cooper out. Not the same quarterback. I don't see this grow. I think we've hit a ceiling, and I think you saw it by about the end. the year, too. I don't know who has the gravitas in Dallas to say this to Jerry, but Jerry, let's stop doing some interviews, okay? When you're going to talk about your quarterback,

don't reference Tom Brady of all the quarterbacks you can bring up. Oh, well, there's some Tom Brady similarities here. No, they're not. Stop. Not. I mean, Dak, a guy with two career playoff wins, and mentioning Brady in the same sentence, like Jerry, come on, let's settle. Now, remember, they just lost their offensive coordinator, who we both think is among the best offensive coordinators, Callan Moore, in the sport. He's gone now. So that's more of a burden on DAC Prescott.

If they don't re-sign that tight end who goes to free agency or Tony Pollard, that is more of a burden on DAC. There's a clear line. The more you ask of DAC, if you look at his career averages when he's asked to throw over 35 times a game, losing record.

Throw under 35 times, less reliant on deck, winning record. Folks, this is no longer an argument. It's very clear with Kirk Cousins and Dak. Limit the number of throws. Give them viable weapons. They can win a playoff game. So we would agree Eagles team to beat next year in the NFC East, obviously.

Who's the second best team in the NFC East? Because I think we both think Dallas pulls back a little. A lot of Daniel Jones stuff coming up later on the show. Keep your eye on Lamar Jackson and the Washington commanders. That is a... That is a... I didn't ever believe it. You have been on this from day one,

their ownership, not very well capitalized. All the things the Raiders could not provide the Saints do. And this goes without saying the NFC, there's an argument that Derek Carr was the fourth most talented quarterback, in his division. Mahalms Herbert Russell Wilson Carr. Argument to be made. There's an argument this morning that after Aaron Rogers,

Derek Carr's on a short list, four or five guys of the most talented entire NFC conference quarterbacks. Take out Aaron. Aaron this morning, we don't know if he's retiring, Packer, or Jets. Brady's out. If Aaron retired, it's Jalen Hertz,

Goff, Derek Carr, say what you're all different. Matt Stafford. I mean, again, I know you don't all love Derek Carr, but not everybody's Mahomes. There's about 12 guys in this sport that can carry you to a playoff. He carried the Raiders two years ago to the playoffs in a sea of chaos. Sunday, it's a battle in the Valley of the Sun as the NASCAR Cup series heads to Phoenix. See who will rise above the rest in the desert heat. The engines fire at three Eastern on Fox. So this is very interesting. So the wording on this, this is interesting for our viewers or listeners.

Jeremy Fowler at ESPN reporting, they believe the Baltimore Ravens are strongly considering using something called the non-exclusive franchise tag on the mar. Basically franchise tagging him, but he's still available if the Jets wanted him. The Jets could say, we'll buy him and offer him a contract. So the Ravens are saying, we like you, but the market's going to dictate what you're worth. We don't think you're worth what you think you're worth. So not only are we going to offer you a franchise tag, but it's non-exclusive, meaning the Jets could come in and buy you. Anybody could.

And the Ravens with that would get two first-round picks. That's the way it's set up in the league. So it's very interesting. The Ravens are saying, unlike Green Bay and Aaron Rogers, they got an owner and their owners saying the money ain't right. You think you're worth this. We don't. We're going to franchise tag you, but if somebody comes in and overspends,

we view overspending for you, we get two first round picks. And you think it's crazy and it does feel like a gamble because Lamar wins 75% of the games he starts. He does. And I'm not sure how his personality is going to handle this. But here's what's crazy. The Ravens have such a good culture, owner, GM, coach, and a very viable roster. they were competitive last year twice in the last month against Cincinnati. They needed a miracle defensive play to beat Cincinnati,

who went toe-to-toe with the Super Bowl champion chiefs at Arrowhead. And they did it with Anthony Brown and Tyler Hunley. Their culture, it's like San Francisco right now. How good is San Francisco at quarterback? Brock Purdy, roster, GM, coach, culture, owner is so strong, they don't have to be great at quarterback to be viable. And so it's a little bit of a dice roll, but what they're saying basically in Baltimore is, we think you're valuable, not nearly as valuable as you think.

So we'll franchise tag you. That's a very good contract for a year. It's very nice for one year. But it's non-exclusive. So if somebody wants to spend greater than we're, willing to spend, well, we'll get two first round picks for it. And remember, the Ravens have a good roster. They could move people. They have the 22nd current pick, and they'd get another first. So they could easily move up in the draft. Go up to a 7-8-9, go up to where Atlanta's at.

Go up to where Seattle's at. If Seattle doesn't want a quarterback, they'd move out of the number five spot. So this gives the Ravens, this is kind of how to manipulate it. It is a risk. Lamar wins a lot of games. I like him more than others. But they're saying, basically let the market, the market will decide, are we underpaying you or not? So this to me, if the jets do not land Aaron Rogers, you have to keep your eyes open for the jets on Lamar, Washington on Lamar in both instances. I think it makes a lot of sense. Here's something else. Peter King reported this on Justin Fields. I said last week, if you're a Chicago bear fan, you don't really get an opinion on offense since you can't figure it out for 103 years.

But Peter King is reporting the Bears are going to keep Justin Fields. And that three different teams at the Combine talk to the Bears about moving up and getting the number one pick. So what the market is telling you with Justin Fields is, there's not a lot of appetite for it. Because the Bears would listen. The Bears see that he's got an accuracy issue, a losing issue. and in 25 games starting, he's been hurt three times. I mean, you all banged on Lamar Jackson for his first 25 games. He never got hurt.

And he ran a lot. And he was more accurate. So right now, the market's telling you on Justin Field and all you bear fans think he's great, but that the market's telling you people would rather move up, restart the clock on their quarterback salary, and get Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud or Anthony Richardson than make a move for Justin Field. So you'd have to pay very soon in a couple of years. So I think, I've said this, I think not very strongly without any conviction.

I think 55, 45, 65, 60, 40 that Justin Fields can work, big, strong, mobile. But right now he's a highlight quarterback. His highlights are great. His overall quarterback play is not very good. Those are facts. And a lot of people have said, well, he runs a lot. Lamar Jackson ran a lot. Yeah, in year one, Lamar Jackson wasn't very accurate, 58%.

By year two, he completed 66%. percent of his throws. And he wasn't getting hurt. So Justin Fields is getting hurt regularly and it's not very accurate and I don't see a meteoric rise in his accuracy. And you can say, well, the Ravens had this. Raven didn't have a great receiving core for Lamar Jackson. Bears don't have a great receiving core for Lamar Jackson. And the AFC is a lot stronger than the NFC. You can keep making mistakes. You have to accurately place the football in the hands of your weapons. He doesn't consistently do that. So Lamar by year two in this league was MVP, 66% completion accuracy, winning games and not getting hurt. And yeah, the Ravens have better players.

But Justin's not really accurate. He's not winning games. He's getting hurt. And I don't see a rise. I think it should kind of work. They have a ton of cap space. I'd go out and buy a number one receiver and a left tackle. And then in the draft, I'd go heavy defense and clean that up.

but we'll see what happens. But there's your situations this morning. The Ravens are simply saying, mark it, dictate what he's worth. The bears are saying, we're going to move down, we're going to stick with him. There's not a lot of appetite for him. And so we'll probably move down and get defense and solve those issues. That's where we are this morning. Again, the Jets, Derek Carr is now in New Orleans Saints.

The Jets are in a very interesting place. I watched an interview over the weekend with Aaron Rogers. I think it was with his brother. It was like a five, six minute interview. And they, you know, they kind of have the same sort of personality, kind of chill. And it was funny about Aaron. You know, he's always very well spoken, always thoughtful. You know, he's basically saying nobody has any context.

People are just making stuff up. He was taking shots at, you know, the Schefters, Ian Rappaport. He was kind of taking shots at NFL media guys that don't have any real contacts with him. I used to have two sources close to Aaron. He ghosted both. They're out. So I don't have any inside information. I don't care about the darkness retreat.

I think it's kind of funny. I wouldn't do it. It's not my cup of tea, but whatever gets you right, meditation, darkness, whatever gets any of you people right, do it. But I will tell you, whether they're connected or not, you don't have to be connected to Aaron Rogers to get the story right, because Green Bay is talking to. And people connected.

Remember, the Packers, when they let go of Aaron Rogers, if they did. They want to win the PR battle too. They don't want the world picking on Green Bay. So Green Bay is going to leak plenty of stuff to all these reporters if Aaron doesn't. And if Aaron's taking shots at reporters, they're just going to move off Aaron and go to the Packers and get information. Curry favor with the Packers. And increasingly this morning, there is a strong momentum toward Aaron's out in Green Bay. Now, I think he's going to resign.

But right now, it looks like the jets are kind of trash. and kind of desperate, I can see them eating up some of his salary, paying some of his salary, given the Packers already a very viable roster, more draft capital. I can absolutely see it happening. But when I watch the tape over the weekend, you know, Aaron continues to want to make sure everybody knows he hasn't made a decision and that nobody knows anything around him. That tells me all the media is going to go to the Green Bay side to get information. So what you see over the next 5, 7, 10, 12, 14 days will be information fed to the media through the Green Bay side.

So just know that. I don't blame them. Green Bay wants to win this. Listen, when teams move off a star quarterback, hell, when the Denver Broncos moved off Tebow, teams don't want to get clobbered for three and four weeks by the national press or local press. So Green Bay is, you know, they want to look good when they make this move. And that's, I totally defend it. if I move from job to job,

nobody wants to get beat up on the internet for four weeks. But I do think increasingly, all the information on Aaron is going to be from the Packers side because Aaron's kind of closing ranks, taking shots at everybody, and that's fine. He's got a right to do it. I didn't learn anything from the interview,

but that's kind of the vibe now with Aaron. You're going to get your information somewhere else because he's just tired of the media. Has every right to be. I get tired of the media.
