Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris.
Jen should win.
She's an outsider to win the French name.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.

You know, we're getting into injury reports now, J-MAC, are very crucial for quarterbacks and perspective,
because people are going crazy on stuff.
But I think we would both agree the two best rookie quarterbacks,
because I remember John Elway, but I don't remember game by game.
The two best rookie quarterbacks have ever seen are Andrew Luck,
who won 11 games with a bad roster, didn't have a right coach, didn't have the right GM,
didn't have the right O'Line, didn't have the right anything.
and then Jaden Daniels last year, who ends up in the NFC championship.
I mean, those guys looked just unbelievable.
Bo Nix was good.
Jaden Daniels, you know, there were times you're like he's the third, fourth,
best quarterback in the league.
So sometimes we lack perspective.
And yesterday, Mike Sando, who will be joining us in a couple hour, he came out with his annual
survey of 50 NFL executives.
It's called quarterback tier.
and it should be noted that Jaden Daniels, the rookie, got 13 more Tier 1 votes than the rest of his division combined because Jalen Hurts got 3 and Dak got 1.
But it is interesting.
Here's where it's different from Andrew Luck.
Jaden Daniels got some breaks.
Number one, he didn't go to Chicago.
They can't get quarterback right.
Number two, he didn't get a coach on the hot seat.
Number three, he didn't get the oldest and arguably strangest ownership group in the NFL and mechanics.
That stuff matters. Instead, he goes to Washington, and his loony owner got flushed out at the end of that last season.
So he gets a new owner, new GM, new coach, new momentum, new culture, with a very, very mature number one wide receiver.
And he wasn't the number one pick. He was the number two pick.
And we always spend more time talking about the number one pick.
So I'm not saying he landed in Kansas City like with Andy Reed and Mahomes, but ask yourself this.
And I love Jaden Daniels, but this is where Andrew Luck has him beat.
Think about the winningest quarterbacks from the last several years in the NFL.
Mahalms, Lamar, Josh Allen, Jaden Hertz, Jordan Love.
What do they have in common?
None of them entered the league in chaos.
Here's who did.
Bryce Young, Caleb Williams, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence.
Not so shockingly, they've had bumpier roads and more turbulence.
I mean, a great example is Bo Nicks, half the GMs were not.
high on him. He gets Sean Payton a good old line. He looks great. Caleb Williams, everybody kind of
thought he was special. Bad everything, coach, coordinators, O line. He looks completely lost.
So don't undervalue, even for somebody as good as Jaden Daniels, don't undervalue how many
breaks he got. I mean, the owner, sharp. The general manager, Adam Peters, super sharp.
Cliff Kingsbury may not be a head coach.
Excellent coordinator.
The O-line PFF had it ranked number 10, a mature receiver at number one.
And even if he wasn't mature, he's a number one receiver.
And a very workable schedule.
Remember this.
Jaden Daniels only one time last year beat a playoff team.
And that was against Philadelphia when Jalen Hertz got hurt and most of the game he faced Kenny Pickett.
So if you look at the quarterbacks he beat, it was Daniel Jones twice,
Kyler Marie DeShon Watson, and the disaster in Cleveland, Andy Dalton, Caleb Williams,
Will Levis, Jake Hainer, Michael Pennix, Tray Lance, and Kenny Pickett.
He played Lamar Baker and Jalen Hertz.
He lost.
He even lost to Russell Wilson.
So two things can be true.
I think he's just tremendous player.
But the landing spot is really crucial.
And what you think of Washington is, what a mess.
They weren't a mess.
They had all new people.
Remember before J. Mack and I argued about this.
Jay Mack said, how can you be good with all that change?
And I said, when all the stuff you flushed out was awful and all the new stuff is good,
I am for change.
And I told you, I thought he was going to look like Lamar Jackson, not quite as nimble
athletically, but much better in the pocket.
And that's what happened.
But do I think Jane Daniels, if you put it,
him in Carolina would have been that. I do not. Where you land really matters. So speaking of
where you land. So here's more bad news for the Niners, specifically a wide receiver.
Brandon Iyuk, who is their best deep threat and their most talented wide receiver, is now
reportedly going to be back in week six. So for the uninitiated, those not paying attention,
not playing fantasy football.
Let me give you an update on the fairly important position for a quarterback,
the wide receiver unit for the Niners.
Debo, Jaden Daniels has him now.
Debo's gone.
Brandon Ayuk can't play until week six.
Juan Jennings, contract dispute, not happy, and he's hurt.
Ricky Pear saw Year 2, at 31 catches.
He's fine.
He's not a 1.
He's probably a 2-ish.
And DeMarcus Robinson, not a big volume guy.
He may be suspended to start the season.
So basically, if Christian McCaffrey, let's say, twists an ankle, the great Brock Purdy will have one of the weakest skill groups in the NFL.
And remember last year he was one in six against playoff teams.
But my take on this is, well, this is real life in the NFL.
This is not Brock Purdy's first 21 games.
People were healthy, stacked roster, excellent defense, didn't have to win shootouts.
He was very good in his first 21 starts.
But in his last 15 starts, it looks like this current wide receiver group.
He's six and nine, 20 touchdowns, 12 picks, and a pass rating in the mid-90s.
Why?
His teammates are older.
They're brittle.
They brought in Robert Solo to help the defense, but,
Greenlaw Defunger are gone and outside of Bosa, they don't have any real dominant players up front,
so he's got to win more shootouts.
And he doesn't have any many great players.
When he came into the league, his first year is rookie, four all pros just on offense.
This offense, if Christian McCaffrey twists an ankle, is not good.
It's George Kittle and cross your fingers, because Ricky Piersall's not a one.
Joanne Jennings is not happy and hurt.
DeMarcus Robinson isn't the answer.
regardless of the question, Brandon Iyuk, week six at the earliest, and Debo's gone.
And my take is in those last 15 starts, I looked up this this morning.
In eight games last season, when they asked Brock Purdy, bro, you got to throw it 30 plus times.
He was one in seven.
But that's the real life.
Brock Purdy's career reminds me a lot of Des Bryant.
Remember when Des came into the league, 13 and 19.
three rookie season. Best O line easily in the league. Zeke was arguably the best running back.
And Des Bryant was a bit of a headache, but was a touchdown machine. And then by year two and
three, you needed Dak Prescott as the O line aged. Zeke aged. Des was gone. The coaching was
okay. Then you're like, we started all arguing on what DAC was worth. And that's the stage I
believe we're going to be at by mid to late October, arguing about Brock Purdy.
We overvalued DAC and Brock early.
Then they struggled when deterioration, age, conflict.
I mean, San Francisco once again, been noisy in the offseason.
Green Bay, quiet.
So here's Kyle Shanahan acknowledging they have an issue at wide receiver.
What do you do?
It was a challenge.
I mean, there's possibilities later.
None are guaranteed.
But, you know, and there's lots of things that tied to that,
who's available, how much you're available for,
and the situation our team's in salary cap-wise and stuff on what we can do.
But yeah, we're looking into everything.
We'll always try to do the best, but try not to just panic
and do something to survive a tough situation at the expense of
what would really hurt you later in this year and definitely next year.
By the way, over the next several years,
Brock now makes more money, so you just can't go shopping
you know, at Walmart.
You're just not getting those Walmart prices, right?
So all this stuff matters.
Jaden Daniels, my theme to start the show today,
Jaden Daniels had way more support than you think.
Because the Washington brand was so beat up.
You're like, what a circus.
No, it wasn't easy schedule, backup quarterbacks,
not as much pressure as a number two pick,
only beat one playoff team.
We beat Burrell.
Yeah, it was early.
A lot of people beat Joe Burrow early, right?
So when he played Jalen and Baker and Lamar and all of a sudden you've got to win shootouts and maybe you trail and the coaching staffs are better, it's a whole different ballgame.
And Brock Purdy was overvalued early.
He's probably a little undervalued now by the critics, myself being one of them.
But this, what he's dealing with, the wide receiver, that's the real NFL.
And for years, I've said this about quarterbacks.
one of the advantages Brock Purdy had at Iowa State,
it got him ready and prepared him for the NFL,
which is bad old lines, running for your life,
often have the second best coach or second best roster.
That's why a lot of these Bama quarterbacks,
they don't do great in the NFL.
They never trail.
They get great protection.
The receivers are always wide open.
That's not preparing you for the NFL.
North Carolina State, Miami of Ohio.
Quarterback at those schools, Cal,
that's Iowa State. That's preparing you for the NFL. So Nick Wright stops by in about 50 minutes.
You see, Tom Brady's talking about Bill Belichick. I am so fired up for Bill Belichick. I feel it's so
much, J-Mack, like Dion at Colorado. So Dion brings in a new energy and a bunch of transfers.
Like it's a bad program that didn't have success recruiting. And so Carolina brings in a bunch of transfers,
totally new energy.
The Jordan Hudson story.
It's got some youth that's got Belichick,
but Dion made his hay in the NFL as a player.
Belichick made his hay in the NFL as a coach on Sundays,
and they both open with TCU.
Dion blew him out.
Belichick's an underdog.
So is that TCU, Carolina?
Is that Labor Day weekend by Ch?
It is?
Oh, it's Monday.
Ooh.
I know what I'm leading with on Tuesday show.
Can't wait for it.
All right.
Coming up next.
The Cleveland Browns released a depth chart.
Kind of wonky, if you ask me.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.
Hi, this is Jay.
I'm the producer of the Paul and Tony Fusco show.
Usually in these promos, they ask you to listen to the show.
I'm here to ask you, please.
Don't listen to the show.
The hosts are two absolute morons who have the dumbest takes on sports imaginable.
Don't listen to this show so it can get canceled.
Whoa, whoa, what the hell are you doing in our studio?
Get him, Paulie.
Ignore that fool.

We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Nick, right top of the hour, so I just said, I think Dion and Belichick, you'd think they're totally different going to college.
Very similar, they bring a new energy.
Both made their hay in NFL football, and they both opened with TCU.
Belichick's an underdog.
Dion beat TCU in the opener.
went back and looked at it very close. It was a shootout.
But my question is, I think,
I've always believed there are, I always
had Rex Ryan would have been a
really good college coach. He's kind of
a good looking guy with a huge personality. He would have been a great recruiter.
I think Rex Ryan would have been a big.
Now, I thought he was a little sloppy and light
on the details as an NFL coach, but he did have a pretty good
run. Let's be honest with the Jets. He had a pretty good run.
And I know Rex a little bit. He's a big person. I always thought
John Gruden would be an excellent college coach.
He's got just enough BS in the recruiting trail.
John could recruit.
Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll, and Jim Harbaugh were great college coaches and pro coaches, right?
But the reason is they can recruit their personalities.
And they're culture setters, their tone setters.
They're not as much, their walk-around guys more than just scheme guys.
Kyle Shanahan, Annie Reed, Sean Payton, scheme guys.
I don't think they'd like recruiting.
I think they'd like sitting in a room and figuring out plays.
And I don't think they'd be as successful in college.
And I love Sean Payton, Andy Reed, and Shanahan.
Shanahan would have no interest with boosters, no interest with an athletic director,
and I don't think Kyle would want to recruit much.
So that's my question with Belichick, is that will his brilliance be muted?
And I, like, Elon Musk needs as a genius the freedom to be a genius.
If you put Elon Musk in a rigid corporate setting, he would be the smartest guy at IBM and would go crazy.
Jeff Bezos at Amazon, he didn't even make a profit for the first 20, 21 years.
He needed the freedom to explore the late architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
You don't want him building DMV buildings, right?
Like sometimes the greater the intellect, they're mavericks, they're risk takers because they have so much confidence in their ability.
And I think with Belichick, my question is, if he's smart enough, he's a brilliant guy.
But like how much in a 17-hour NCAA mandated work week, how much can you teach?
And Tom Brady was on Joel Klap's podcast and talked about that very thing.
What they're going to get is obviously the most prepared, the most hardworking coach that I'd ever been around.
if you go to that school
you will be prepared to play at the next level
he's going to teach you the right fundamentals
the right techniques he's going to have a high
expectation for you
and you're going to develop a lot
that's what I know
he is so smart with how he approaches
defensive schemes and offensive schemes
and how much can these young kids retain
yeah and also just tactically
I mean there have been
NFL coaches that go
college and there's always been this perception that a college guy can't go to the NFL but jim harbaugh
did and had great success and and jimmy johnson didn't had success and pete carroll did and had success
and it's usually because uh they could really recruit they have a i mean peterl's got a certain jimmy
john i've been around jimmy a lot they've got an energy harbaw when he when he comes on my show for
an interview the last couple of them as a charger guy huge energy and and i and i think the guys that are more i
not intellects the wrong word, but more like football academics.
Like Andy Reid will not do joint practices.
He won't let you even look at any of his stuff.
He doesn't want any team at his practice.
And Belichick is a brilliant, brilliant football coach.
But man, I got six kids in my life.
At 19 years old, they make weird choices.
They can frustrate you, especially as you age.
J-Mack with the news.
is the herd line news.
Remember last week we did NFC predictions
and I had the Packers near the top?
Some not great news coming out of Green Bay
here in the last hour.
Obviously, Jordan Love banged his hand on a helmet
during the Jets' loss.
During the loss of the Jets over the weekend.
Well, the Packers just announced
that Jordan Love tore a ligament in his left thumb
and had a procedure to repair it.
Calling it just a little procedure
He should be fine for week one.
But here's Brian Gutikins, the GM addressing the media after the game.
Jordan is having a little procedure done on his left thumb that he heard in the game.
We'll put him out a little bit of a while.
I hope to have him back at practice next week.
Shouldn't miss any regular season time.
That last play, when you kind of could split two guys,
like a helmet just got it.
Yeah, that doesn't worry me.
Oh, really?
left thumb. Tom Brady played with a gash that I think, remember Tom Brady got a gash? Was that on his
throwing hand or his offhand? It was brutal. It may have been on his throwing hand. And Tom Brady
won a playoff game. Tom Brady, Jordan Love. Yeah, they're in the same boat. It's not just
Jordan Love, though, Colin. I've been looking into the Packers since I started hyping him last week.
So McKinney, the safety, he's banged up, missing time. Their top cornerback Hobbs also injured
missing a lot of practice time, and Jaden Reed, who can't stay healthy, their gadgety receiver.
So you got four critical players there, starters, missing a lot of practice time leading into week one.
I don't want to go overboard, but you need your quarterback out there developing rapport with saying,
you're right.
If you were playing Philadelphia in week one, I'd agree, they're playing the Colts.
So they get a scheduling break, and they know it.
So again, if you're playing Jaden Daniels or Jalen Hurts or you're playing, you know, you're playing Mahomes or you're playing on, you know, Thursday night, you know, they're, who's the Green Bay opener?
I see here they're playing Saturday.
They're playing the cold.
Who are they open in the season with?
I think it's the Bears, is it?
Okay, where's the game at?
I, the bears with new coordinators who have looked shaky.
Okay, so Colin, now we're getting to Jordan Love Hurd again.
when you kept saying Joe Burrow was fragile, and I called him Glass Joe, he had numerous injuries.
I mean, Jordan loved now. This is two years in a row. He's hurt.
Well, time out. Time out. Time out.
Joe Burrow had ACL MCL. Joe Burrow had serious, serious injuries.
Banging your offhand on a helmet, Matt Stafford does that every third week with the Rams.
That is not a serious injury.
I'm sorry. That's like.
Packers open with the lions. I'm sorry. Not the bears.
The green mac is here on the screen.
with the Detroit Lions. So not a layup at all. Well, it's not a layup, but the new lions with new
coordinators will be very interesting to watch. I think they could develop over the course of the
year, but we saw them in the Hall of Fame game and they were awful with all new coordinators,
all new system. So I think it's fine. It's, I just think offhand, the way, I mean,
our medical profession now, people are in and out, these hour surgeries, these minor
procedures, and he's a young athlete in his prime. He'll heal quickly. He'll be fine.
Totally get that. I just, he's going to be out this week, so no practice. Right?
Well, season's three weeks away, Colin. I don't know. I'm not overreacting.
Now, remember, remember, this is interesting. You say that. No practice.
He sat for three years. He sort of knows Matt Lafleur's offense. Again, it'd be, if he was a
rookie. But like, he, this is a guy that has been in that culture and that system with those
teammates now for several years. Remember last year, Matt LaFleure got Malik Willis with virtually no
practice time to play really well in early September. Didn't even know the system was viewed largely
as a bust. Jordan Love is going to be good. Okay. Let's move on to another layer to the story about
the Big Noon Ohio State Texas matchup. For the first time since polls have been in action,
The number one team in the country is an underdog in their opener.
The Buckeyes currently minus two and a half at home against Texas.
I'm not surprised at all about this.
I think this Texas ranking is just Archmanning vibes.
That's the only reason they're ranked number one in the country.
The roster is not number one in the country.
Well, Sark is a top three to four recruiter in the country.
Now that Sabin's gone, there's an argument.
He is the best recruiter in college football.
Sark is a at USC, he was a, he was Pete's guy.
He's a great recruiter.
Texas is a, not only a big brand, it's a cool brand.
The state of Texas produces a lot of high school players.
This roster, backups right now at Texas are like backups when Sabin was at Bama.
They're just young, eventual NFL players.
So like, for instance, I believe they have to replace four offensive linemen.
Yes.
I guarantee you the guys that are starting now for the first time.
we're four or five-star recruits.
Well, probably.
Yeah.
And by the way, we're practicing against NFL defensive linemen for Texas.
It's like Georgia.
Like, I'm sorry, but, you know, before the NIL especially,
and I do think NIL, you can get poached,
but Texas doesn't get poached necessarily as much as Georgia
because Texas is the richest college football program in the country.
I don't know when your boy Klatz's coming back on the show,
but I would love to hear if he thinks Texas even has a top three
or four roster in the country. Because I'm telling you, Clemson is loaded.
Ohio State is loaded. Penn State is stacked beyond belief.
Like that right there is three teams. I think their rosters are better than Texas.
Penn State is returning a ton of really good players. So this may be the year for Penn State.
But last year and the year before, Texas had better players. I mean, all you need to do, go back to Sark early in his career.
And I think we talked about this. He went to Bandser.
And he played Nick Saban.
And I remember thinking at the time, it was the first time in 10 years.
Bama looked small.
Bama looked like the smaller team.
And I think, by the way, I think Nick Saban knew that.
And it's one of the reasons he decided, well, ESPN's offered me a job for about six years.
I think I'm going to take it.
So remember, the SEC schools outside of Texas are getting poached now.
And they don't have big NILs like Oregon or Ohio State.
Texas, if you take, I mean, right now the top two NIL programs in the SEC are Texas and Texas A&M.
It's the Texas economy.
So the bottom line with Texas is their backups, their first year offensive line guys.
I mean, I don't have their depth chart in front of me.
I guarantee you they're four and five star guys.
They're going to be fine.
I mean, Georgia has that too.
But listen, college football is super awesome at the top this season.
All right, let's go to the final story.
Obviously, we talked about the interaction over the weekend between Shedur-Sanders and Cleaver.
Cleveland radio host, Tony Grossi, in the tunnel, filmed by Shedur's younger brother.
Grossi told his side of the story yesterday on the radio.
He left the podium to walk into the locker room, and I called his name to ask him another question.
And that's when we discussed what was on his mind.
It was fine.
I was a little bit surprised, though, that on his big night, and it was a big night for him,
considering all the circumstances that he would.
raised this. I thought that's why I thought he was joking, you know. It shouldn't have been that
big a deal on his mind after his big night. That's exactly right. It's your first preseason game.
That should not be what you're thinking about. That's the judgment and maturity he's got to get
better at. The speeding tickets, the legendary draft room. Like, like, that should not, that's not
what you should be thinking about. Like, get over local radio guy, even if he's popular.
I mean, the guy's like, what is he, 23, 24.
He's a young dude.
Yeah.
You know, back in your young heyday in the radio career,
if you got slighted by someone, you would probably let him know, too, Colin.
No.
By the way, when your young doctor at 25 slices an artery,
are you going to be okay with him saying, hey, Jamek, I'm young?
I was at a senior froggyz last night having the time of my life.
A doctor to a quarterback?
Well, I'm saying there are professions, pilot surgeon quarterback,
where unfortunately, you have to be uniquely mature at 24, 25 years old.
This is not, I didn't have to be.
I'm reading sports scores.
Nobody cares.
No, that's fair.
I'll just say, Colin, I agree with you.
Not a great look.
But I also remember what I was like as a young morrow.
You weren't a quarterback.
I know I wasn't a quarterback.
Blogger is even a lower standard than what I did.
Probably, yes.
Especially in 2008 or whatever.
But again, remember, young people do dumb things.
We've got to get them a little bit of leeway.
Now, the multiple speeding tickets, I think, is much worse than this encounter in the tunnel, right?
I mean, 100 miles an hour.
Come on, that's not good.
Well, you're endangering other people's lives.
Yes, but on a scale, they're all silly.
Be serious.
Again, 25-year-old men are not serious.
Except I want them to be as a pilot, as a quarterback, and as a surgeon.
You've got to be more safe.
If you're not, by the way, same with stockbroker.
I don't want a 24-year-old handling my money.
Even if you're, I just don't.
I want somebody who's been through two or three recessions,
doesn't freak out, has dealt with, you know,
has dealt with the market for 20 or 30 years.
And that's why my broker's not 24 years old.
Like, I just don't trust in most critical situations a 24-year-old male.
I think that's a good call.
Unfortunately, owners in the NFL don't have that luxury.
You got to find the next superstar.
I'm just more shocked that he's still fourth on the depth chart, but that's another topic.
Well, we're going to address that.
I think that's very legitimate.
J-Mac with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
Yeah, I've been arguing that singular top.
In fact, it was so funny.
So this morning, I looked up, I'm not going to give you the place, but there's a, it's a, it's a
country club, but it's a nine whole course. And it's just, it's just a lot of times I don't have time to
play 18. I want to play nine and I was looking it up. And it's a nine whole course somewhere in the
country. It's very, very nice, but it's not too fancy. But I looked at their requirements. And one of
their requirements at the very top was hats or visors have to be worn forward. Okay. You can keep
telling me, hey, I was over at my uncle Teddy's knocking down some bruskees at the bar.
barbecue, yeah, I don't care if you wear your hat on backwards. But at a nine whole golf course,
visor's got to be front, hats got to be front. And so, yes, there are some environments in which we
were asking you, no jeans, hat on forward, no profanity, no, and quarterback's just, and by the way,
90% of you get this. Like, like, the 10% that don't are the ones on X, also big Bitcoin
investors and Bigfoot hunters. So, I mean, most of us all get this stuff. But, you know,
there are just certain things in life where dress matters and, and I'm not a guy that's in,
you know, I'm not a six country club guy. It's not my scene. I respect people who are,
but there are environments where we needed to be like a little bit more mature than you currently
are. The home you've worked so hard for is ready to work hard for you with a home equity

Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's a trend.
extra special. So how did we
actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember. I think
it was on a call about what we should call
it. Well, we were thinking I'm
originally calling it
one of the early names
of our band before Jonas Brothers
was... This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast
where people could call in and say, hey Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little
notepad, Hey Jonas. And I'll for
it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel.
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast,
I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jen she went.
I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now,
and I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

It's a battle in the NL East as the Braves take on Juan Soto, Francisco Lindor, and the rival Mets.
That's 7 p.m. Eastern on FS1.
We have very interesting discussions during the breaks.
I have like a rule with my family.
I had to tell my daughter the other day, as a family, and I don't think this is elitist,
we do not fly any airline that's the same color as a highlighter.
We do not fly bright yellow airlines.
And it's my theory is any boardroom that decides that's a great-looking color in the sky,
the same as lightning, I'm not flying it.
So we do Delta, an American, and British, and Air Canada, and Swiss, and Lufthansa, and KLM,
and Singapore, and Emirates, I've never flown, but it's supposed to be
bushy. But if you're bright yellow, we're not flying you. And that's just my theory is if you're
the same color as lightning, we're not flying you. That management team has made bad decisions.
Okay. So I thought it was a little weird. The Cleveland Brown's second depth chart of the summer came out.
Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dylan Gabriel, and Schenner Sanders is fourth. The guy who played Friday.
and was really good.
And it reminded me
at something,
is that I used to,
right out of college,
I got a job
with a minor league
baseball team.
And if you were a 20th round
draft pick and hit
370 in the spring
from a center field position,
you still wouldn't make
the Major League 40-man roster.
But if you were a first round pick
who hit 260 at the same position,
you probably would.
There's politics,
there is pick equity,
there's validation of choices
by general managers,
and I noticed this,
a lot, the politics of it when I worked in minor league baseball.
Guys would have great springs and not make the 40-man roster.
I'm like, oh, he's a 27th round pick.
And like, Shadoor's a fifth round pick.
And the team, the GM and the coach put the third round pick, you know, that's the one
they were trying to sell.
And I don't think Dylan Gabriel's an NFL quarterback.
Maybe a backup, but he's just too small.
But you've got to give Shadur Sanders credit.
A lot of pressure on him Friday, and it's pretty good.
Okay, arm, movement.
And can we stop with he's not athletic enough?
I'm watching again this morning.
He's athletic enough.
There's one play against Carolina.
He's spinning around.
And this is more athletic than half the quarterback's in the NFL.
Flush to the left, spins, spins again.
And then in a foot rate, that is more athletic than all but about 10 guys in the league.
That's a very athletic quarterback, and we know he's accurate.
So, and by the way, Chador is their only healthy quarterback.
right now. Is that not a skill? Was that not a skill for Eli Manning and Tom Brady? And Brett
Farve? He's healthy. Little Dylan Gabriel's not. Kenny Pickett's banged up. Deshawn Watson can't get
his act together or stay healthy. Now, Joe Flacko's fine. He's going to be the starter. But my point is,
is he's healthy. You deserve credit for that. He was good Friday. You deserve credit. I was looking at
this throws downfield.
You can dink and dunk your way
to a really nice 69% completion
percentage. On throws 10 plus
yards downfield,
had 149
pass-for rating. Those are the
throws that matter. Again, not
with a very good receiving core.
I mean, they are one of the weaker
receiving cores in the league. So I do
think it's a little odd. I don't think
anybody's rooting against him,
but it is a little odd
that you'd put out the second
depth chart and he's fourth he's available he's healthy which is a skill he played and he played
well so um i don't know i feel like me trying to read the cleveland brown sensibility on
quarterbacks is like trying to figure out figure out jalo's boyfriends i don't know what she's
looking for at this point young old funny academic i can't i can't follow jayroll jolo's boyfriends
friends. I can't follow Cleveland.
They loved, didn't
just like, they love Mansell's
cockiness. They love Baker's
hutspah. They overlooked
Deshawn Watson's
weirdness.
I mean, Shador's not
serious enough for my taste yet.
Maybe he grows into it.
But I, I,
I think sometimes
he has to grow up some.
Don't overlook
the obvious. He's accurate. He moves well. Deon Sanders gave him some, you know, advantages. His dad was a coach.
He also, by the way, in college had 41 total starts. That matters. Like Anthony Richardson at Florida
had 13. Looks raw. At different levels of football, should have had 41 college starts. Dad's an
all-time legend. That's a football family. Best friends with Travis Hunter. So, um,
Now, he's not legendary, like his draft room said, but I think we have to be fair here.
He's not serious enough for my taste at this point in his life.
But you can't watch Friday and tell me, you know, he's kind of a, he's just a pocket guy.
No, he's not.
No, he's not.
That's not fair.
He's not just a pocket guy.
Here is Kevin Stefanski yesterday on the Brown's sort of odd quarterback room.
Dylan can do some 11 on 11.
obviously we're still mindful of his tightness in the hamstring.
Kenny, not just yet 11 on 11, but both guys progressing well.
Do you expect your door to start Saturday?
I'm not there on the game itself.
I'll by Wednesday, Thursday have a better feel for the game and how we're going to handle that.
Now, I push back greatly when an announcer for the other network said he's being sabotaged.
That's nonsense.
They want him to flourish.
But now that he has flourished and is healthy, it seems to me you would reward him.
Now, there is the possibility of this.
Famous Dad, legendary draft room, they are tempering the hype.
Their take is, listen, we're giving him easy stuff.
But if you're giving him easy stuff and he's throwing to a weak receiving room and has
149 quarterback rating on throws of 10 yards down the field, then he's probably better than you think.
And we also, players drop in the draft for a lot of reasons.
A lot.
Maturity, I think, really hurt him.
But let's also be fair, people that we respect.
I mean, J. Mack and I, there are certain people we both bring on our shows or podcast.
Daniel Jeremiah is somebody that I have a lot of respect for.
Daniel Jeremiah had a first round great.
So it's not like
I get the legendary stuff.
He butchered the New York Giants interview.
I have now had that validated by two people
with very close contacts to the New York Giants.
It was awful.
It was worse than what was reported.
It was because the Giants don't want to make him look bad.
It was bad.
And legendary speeding tickets.
But the speeding tickets were pre-draft.
So he was under-drafted.
Obviously, Brock Purdy was under-drafted.
Tom Brady was underdrafted, because Brady did have some success at Michigan.
But here's Matt Hasselbeck yesterday on Shadour in the entire saga.
Will the Cleveland Browns have the courage to keep four quarterbacks?
And courage is the word I'm using because it's like no one else does that.
It doesn't make any sense.
This is a team that has gone without a quarterback for so long that they might just say,
hey, listen, it's that important of a position.
We like what we have here.
the traits that he's showing.
Let's hold on to him and develop him.
On the field, he doesn't give me pause at all.
He doesn't worry me at all.
The other thing about availability, because Dylan Gabriel's hurt,
is that I know it sounds weird to say,
availability is a skill.
But I think anything you practice is a skill.
Tom Brady practiced getting sacked.
Lamar Jackson practiced being a best.
slider when he ran he wanted to slide better Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray had
baseball backgrounds day one they were great at avoiding big contact not getting hit
is a skill and and when you're practicing not getting sacked so Shadur Sanders
for all the misgivings I have with his speeding tickets he's not getting
hurt and they're there now sometimes you bang your
left hand on a
helmet. Again, Tom Brady
before the AFC championship game
had a gash on his throwing hand.
He had to wear a glove. I remember seeing
a picture of it. It was ghastly.
It was awful. And he ended up winning the
game. So accidents do
happen. But I would give,
if everybody was, I know this.
If I was a coach and everybody was hurt
and that kid was healthy, I
would, maybe unfairly view him.
I would move him up the roster.
I'm like, well, the kid's healthy. He's ready to play.
because in the NFL, everybody's hurt.
Even quarterbacks.
Everybody's banged up.
You know, we've all, even in high school level, football practice is physical.
Basketball practice is fun.
Ground balls, baseball practice, lacrosse practice, those are fun.
Football practice is not that fun.
It's really not that fun, even if you play quarterback.
All right, Jay Mack, Nick Wright's going to be joining us next hour at the very top of the hour.
So tomorrow, now later in the show, Mike Sando, who did the quarterback tears, I'm going to ask him about what people said, because what's fascinating, he had 50 different people, six GMs, six assistant GMs, six former GMs, and those quotes are anonymous.
So a couple of coaches came out and hammered Caleb Williams processing.
But I'm also interested.
I'm going to ask him about what a lot of the people said off the record on Bo Nix, Jordan Love, J.J. McCarthy,
although we don't have a lot on him and Caleb Williams.
So it's going to be a very interesting interview.
The other thing to think about tomorrow,
I have two more opportunities to change my NFL standing picks.
So last year we got the AFC division winners all right.
I'm going to make one, two major moves.
So I do think preseason matters.
You look at injuries.
I am making one major AFC move and one substantial NFC move.
both with playoff teams.
So I think you, I do think, I do think preseason matters.
I'll just tell you right now, losing Roshan Slater at left tackle for the Chargers is a real
problem.
That is a real, thank God, Harbaugh drafted Joe Alt.
If they had gone receiver, they would be in that division with Denver's pass rush,
in Kansas City's pass rush, they would be in big trouble.
Oh yeah.
Hour one in the books.
Nick Wright, Mike Sando.
It's the hurt.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
