This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan, so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away, such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot, or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule.

Thanks for making us part of your day.
A lot of choices, we always appreciate it.
One hour from now.
Is he in heaven?
Joel Clatt, the former Colorado Buffalo.
Huge college football weekend.
Notre Dame, Ohio State.
Bama.
Old Miss, Oregon, Colorado Primetime.
Big rivalries, everywhere.
Well, at least big games.
J-MAC is joining.
J-MAC, I have, you know, we're very lucky to do what we do.
Why's that?
I was just thinking about it this morning.
There's so many great stories out there.
This world we're in of sports provides so many great stories.
And we've got this crazy one with Primetime, Dionne Sanders.
It's interesting.
It is, right?
Look at these numbers.
According to ESPN,
the Colorado State game,
not exactly enormous brands,
is the most streamed
college football game
in the history of the network in the regular season.
I know there wasn't a lot of streaming
back in the 70s and 80s,
but also nine and a half million viewers,
the most watched late-night college football game
ever on the
SBN. Every SEC
game, beat it. Buckeye
game, sooner game, all those big brands.
Michigan, beat it. So clearly
Dion Sanders is bringing
in people who
didn't watch college football.
He's not just moving college football fans.
He's bringing in fans with those
numbers that did not watch college football.
Probably NFL fans.
It's a great message to
take a big swing, get
uncomfortable, remarkable,
things happen. I thought Colorado and Dion Sanders, my initial reaction when it happened,
that's a weird fit. Next day I woke up, set it on the air. It's going to work. I think it's
going to work. He's going to get attention. American viewers are drawn to two things. Big brands and
big stars. Remember when Zion Williamson played in his first and only March Madness? Do you
remember that? Do you know the ratings for the first game? They were the biggest March Madness
rating since 1991.
Opening weekend ratings since 1991.
College basketball is losing audience, not gaining it.
You know, the fans do this all the time.
They tell us in the media what they want.
Over and over, fans tell us what they want.
They want new, fresh fun.
Too many people in the media lecture, school, try to engineer or instruct you on what you should want to watch.
Just give people what they want.
Entertain fans.
That's what Deion's doing.
The shades, the hat, the attitude.
at altitude. He's entertaining people.
And what I really like about this is because I love college football, but so much of college
football in my life, especially in the last 20 years, it feels scripted.
SEC, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan dominate recruiting, and then they dominate at the end of
the season.
It's like the movie industry.
It's just sequels.
Repackaged stuff I've seen a thousand times.
Ooh, Alabama's good.
Ohio State's good.
Michigan's good.
Oklahoma's good. Yeah, I've never seen that before.
Dion Sanders is fresh and new.
There's charisma.
He's fun.
Colorado took a big swing.
I don't think they're probably going to beat Oregon this weekend without Travis Hunter,
their most gifted athlete.
Maybe college football's most gifted athlete.
But sports fans tell us all the time in my business what they want.
Keep it fun.
Give us good energy.
Occasionally sprinkling something new.
College football and basketball fans are older than NFL and NBA fans.
I've seen the data on that.
And maybe they don't like new.
Well, maybe they do the most streamed college football game ever for that network.
The most watched Saturday night college football game ever for that network.
It's fun.
It's new.
I don't know how long it lasts.
doesn't feel like a 401k, don't touch it forever, and then you wake up one day and
25, 30 years later, it gives you something great.
It doesn't feel like Joe Parr, Bobby Bowden.
It doesn't.
Who cares?
Dating's fun too, not just marriage.
I think it lasts four or five years.
Maybe he goes to the NFL.
Maybe it's a couple years.
I saw a piece of video yesterday.
Dion's like telling his kid, you're not going pro yet.
You're not going pro.
Hey, I'm here for it.
I'm here for Dion and his son next year again.
I'm here for it.
We've got plenty of quarterbacks.
Washington's got one. Oregon's got one.
USC, North Carolina, Duke, Florida,
stay. Everybody's got quarterback.
Colorado, Dionne Sanders, son, he can stay.
I'm here for it.
Probably get beat by Oregon.
But the fans tell us what they want.
Entertain them.
And that's what Deon's doing.
Talks about Oregon.
We have not played a complete game.
We have not played a game with the offense,
defense as well, a special team has all shown up in the same manner.
If the offense is playing well, the defense is hot garbage.
If the defense is playing well, the offense is horrible.
And special teams aren't special.
So we got to put it all together to be able to defeat a team like Oregon in that manner.
Yeah, Oregon's really, really good with an NFL quarterback as well.
A good coach.
They have really good players, and they have some momentum over the last decade.
My guess is Oregon wins that game.
But I thought TCU was going to hammer.
hammer Colorado.
And then I wasn't sure how they do against Nebraska.
Hammered both.
So I'm here for it.
All right.
The NFL is selling hope and optimism.
It's smart, but it also is true.
Two things can be true at the same time.
If you're two and O in the NFL, it absolutely, statistically helps you to get to the playoffs.
And O and 2 is not fatal.
So it says here,
eight of 14
playoff teams
started the season last year
1 in 1 or 0 and 2.
Now, each of the
six teams that started 2 and 0 made the playoffs.
Maybe the commanders are good.
So there's
nine teams
that are 0 and 2.
9. And I think they go into
four categories.
Here are the 0 and 2 teams. Bengals,
Chargers, Vikings,
Broncos, Patriots, Bears, Cardinals,
Texans, Panthers,
all 0 and 2.
So let's start with the first category.
I think because of star quarterbacks, the Bengals and the Chargers are very much alive.
You've got star quarterbacks, and that's about, you know, a big percentage of winning.
Best quarterback often wins the division.
Okay, I also think a very strong heartbeat, regardless of what anybody says, the Broncos and the Patriots.
They have Hall of Fame coaches and capable quarterbacks.
I think the Vikings have a good coach and a good quarterback, so they have a pulse.
May end this weekend, but they got a pulse.
And then call the medics for the Bears, Arizona, Carolina, Houston.
You got quarterback issues, three of them, rookie quarterbacks,
and one, a quarterback that's struggling, and the franchise right now is wobbling.
They're not all the same.
But we kind of know the issues for everybody.
the coach for the Chargers. Burroughs hurt for the Bengals.
The Vikings may be in a subtle rebuild.
Kirk Cousin's not really good enough.
Denver, they got to get their defense and Russell Wilson's second half right.
New England.
They don't have enough juice on the outside.
They don't have enough speed.
They look slow, sometimes on both sides.
And then we know why the Bears, the Panthers, the Texans, Arizona.
We can figure that out.
It's quarterback stuff.
Denver remains.
the most interesting. I think
easily the most interesting.
And here's why. There's a lot of mystery
here. Why is Russell Wilson
so great in the first half,
85% completion percentage,
and so bad in the second?
What's wrong with the
defense? We like
a lot of their defensive players.
And the offensive line
massively upgraded. Why is
Russell getting sacked so much?
So Denver remains
a mystery. Okay?
I mean, clearly, Russell Wilson doesn't look like, especially second half, he has the juice.
The offensive line, my guess is it got reworked.
Nobody plays in the preseason.
At least starters don't.
It'll be fine in about three to four weeks.
The defensive line at the trade deadline should probably go out and get some help.
They're just not creating consistent pressure.
But as Mark Schleris says, in Denver, only one person is getting the blame.
They don't like Russ.
They don't like his act.
They're not buying into it.
And the bottom line is you look at this offense right now,
more points per drive than any offense in the national football league.
Ultimately, it's a defensive issue.
But nobody's talking about that.
Everybody's just, you know, they're storm in the castle with pitchforks and lanterns
trying to go after Russ.
And he has played better.
There has been more continuity.
He has gotten rid of the ball.
He has been accurate.
He's done all those things.
But it's not good enough.
I still think this is an eight or nine win team.
I went into the season thinking they were probably a nine and ten win team,
but losing to the Raiders, a division rival,
Devante Adams, Max Crosby, it's not the end of the world,
offensive coach.
A couple years ago, Chargers went in week three, beat the chiefs at Arrowhead.
It happens.
Division rival, capable quarterback.
The Washington thing is a bummer, really unsettling.
But I went this morning, looked at the schedule.
I think they're getting to nine wins, maybe eight.
This was a bad team last year.
They don't look like a bad team right now.
But this is the downside, the small downside to being a star, getting the money, getting traded for picks.
You take the heat.
J-Mack, this is the first two weeks.
I didn't like the games in terms of numbers.
This is easily the best game week to bet.
games. I've got four of my, four of my strongest picks of the year all this week.
So it's a bounce back. Bounce back. I'm going to vanquish, crush, roll Vegas this weekend.
You feeling that good? I feel, I feel empowered. There are just by week three,
there are things you can say, true, not true, problem, no problem. I've only had one winning
week in week one ever. By week three, injuries pile up, coaching deficiencies, strengths. We
didn't know restraint. I think you can look at the Rams and say, barring injuries, it's a pretty
good football team. Looks like a pretty darn good offensive football team. Offensively.
Okay, let me push back on the Rams. So the first two games were against teams they had deep familiarity
with, right? They open against the Seahawks. McVeigh owns the Seahawks. I missed that, of course.
Week two, they play the 49ers. They know the 49ers really well. They got juiced up for them.
And Niners led by 10 in the fourth, but they looked good against teams they know really, really well.
Now they step out of their comfort zone, face a Bengals team, angry, playing at home.
Maybe with no Joe Burrow.
Maybe with no Joe Burrow.
Maybe I'm just spraying the board too much, but I, like you, have a lot of bets already out there for this week.
Now, nothing as good as Buffalo last week, right?
Buffalo last week was our layup against Raiders.
It was a lot of city.
I don't have layup. By half time, it was like, all right, where are we spending the money?
I don't know. Like, do you have a favorite game this weekend? Yes, absolutely.
Are you going to reveal it today? Or you're going to tease the audience? I have three games I love.
I'm going to throw another one at you. How about next segment? Or the next segment. I think it's an obvious game. Last week, Buffalo was obvious. You've figured it out. There's an obvious game out there.
Okay. It's wide open and obvious. Let me just ask one more real quick. Every sharp in the world, oh, you got to go with Arizona. You've got to.
go Arizona. They're taking money. The line against Dallas is coming down. Dallas look
ahead spot to the Patriots Niners. Jonathan Gandon coached with the Eagles. And he's already
seen two teams. Washington kind of bottled them up defensively. Giants bottled them up. He knows
the Cowboys. He's going to be able to handle Dak. And everybody and their mom is on Arizona
this week. Nope. That's not it. Nope, not it. So good to be here, folks. Joel Clatt in 45
minutes from now coming up next. I love Mike Tomlin.
in front of a microphone.
But this rings a little hollow.
He was pressured yesterday in Pittsburgh,
like he was feisty after the game.
He wasn't quite as feisty in front of the mic yesterday.
I'll bring you a couple of thoughts and sound bites
from my favorite coach in front of a mic, Mike Tomlin.
I have a great parlay for you this weekend,
thanks to Draft King Sportsbook.

All right, I'm going to go with a three dog parlay pick via Draft King Sportsbook.
All right, Chargers plus one of the Vikings.
They have a better team.
They're desperate, better roster.
And I think this is the moment for the Chargers this season.
Line in the sand.
Lose, they're thinking about a new coach.
I think they win.
They've had moments in both their losses.
Chargers win by a touchdown.
Steelers plus three at the Raiders.
Why?
I think Pittsburgh's a better roster overall.
After an ugly win and an epically bad performance by the O-Line,
they'll hear about it from Tomlin and play inspired.
Take the Steelers by a touchdown.
And Rams plus one at the Bengals, Joe Burrell may not play,
and the Rams are the shock of the league.
If you want to take the herd parlay, check out Draft King Sportsbook.

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what you're saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media.
Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with some of your favorite athletes, creators,

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little bit?
Kim, well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jay.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It is as if Mike Tomlin used to be in the media and maybe taught people what to say at a microphone.
looks in the eye, succinct, often with a sense of humor, the best soundbite in the NFL.
There is nobody close.
He is the best sound bite probably in professional sports.
And he was at it again yesterday.
He was fantastic.
He was talking about this offense, fans calling for Matt Canada's job and stuff.
Here we go.
I appreciate their passion.
I share their passion.
We all do.
Man, we love our fans, man.
They inspire us.
They challenge us.
It's an awesome relationship.
Man, we don't run from challenges.
We run two challenges.
This is the sport entertainment business.
It is our job to win and thus entertain them.
And so, you know, we don't begrudge them for that.
We want them to be fat and sassy and spoiled.
It is our job.
He's the absolute best.
But if I may, it feels a little hollow.
It'd be one thing if the Steelers had several issues.
It was a mystery layered.
We were trying to figure out.
We were all sports detectives.
Who'd done it?
How to solve it?
But it's not.
There's one suspect.
There's a dumpster fire and he's holding a match.
and a can of gasoline.
It's Matt Canada.
Get rid of him.
The receivers, the running backs, the tight ends,
really, really good players.
The defense, it's Mike Tomlins,
it's expensive, it's fantastic.
The GM, the culture.
Mike's never had a losing season.
Check, check, check, check, check. All good.
Yet the offensive line growth
stymied for four years.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett appears to have
regressed.
The running game, more often inept than dynamic.
It's not a who-done-it.
It's a he-done-it.
Matt Canada screwed this offense up.
Move on.
Stop rounding up the suspects.
Make an arrest.
Everybody in the room knows who it is.
The old line play, the run game.
Kenny Pickett has regressed.
Brock Purdy hasn't, and he's a seventh-rounder.
I'm watching C.J. Stroud. It feels like he got better in two games.
Anthony Richardson, he's got a little juice.
Even Bryce Young with no weapons looked okay the other night. He's capable.
Can he picket went backwards?
Mike Tomlin was pressed on Matt Canada.
Mike, you share their passion. Do you share their concern about the way Matt's preparing the offense?
I don't share their concern because of my perspective. I'm a part of the process.
part of the process is less troublesome to you.
Feels a little hollow to me from a coach who usually is direct and matter of fact.
Here's the Steelers' offense under their coordinator, Matt Canada.
Their rankings are 26, 26, 31st, 29th, and 31st.
They have an excellent young tied-in.
Two very capable running backs.
Probably need an offensive line upgrade, but the quarterback was a first rounder.
He showed very, very promising moments last year as a rookie.
Receivers.
I mean, one of the great young ones.
We know what the issue is.
Mike's great at the mic.
But when fans in Pittsburgh who tend to lean toward loyalty and continuity,
these are nice people.
And they're chanting to fire a guy.
And we all know what guy it is.
We don't need to round up more suspects.
We know who it is.
J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
You didn't know the Steelers' offense was that bad for five years.
Like, it's 26 and down.
Permission to push back?
Sure.
Yes.
So they opened the season with a very tough game against a great defense.
The 49ers defense.
It's a phenomenal defense.
It's okay to lose the game, not get destroyed.
and not move.
They don't have a first down in the first quarter this year.
Okay.
So in the second game, they face a formidable defense that looks like one of the best units in the AFC in Cleveland.
I love how you're selling and everybody's like, oh, Matt Canada, it stinks, fire the guy.
That's fine.
They're going to the Raiders this week, okay?
When you're faith, the best of the best, back to back, and then all of a sudden you got this cupcake defense from the Raiders.
Steelers should smash them.
If Pickett cannot have success there, then I will agree with your concern.
I'm just five days ahead of the story.
Or maybe you're throwing some well-deserved
and appropriate.
Not a lot of other shows do context.
I'm doing context.
You're doing context.
And I'm going heavy on the Steelers.
Okay.
Let's start with Zach Wilson.
And, oh, geez, do we have to?
Three interceptions last week against a Cowboys.
Just to defend Zach briefly.
He doesn't need defense because it's indefensible.
They were late in the game when it was like, you know, a blowout city.
It's not like he was throwing picks in the first half when they were awful.
Robert Sala does not anticipate.
adding a quarterback to replace Aaron Rogers.
But Boomer Osiason, remember that guy, believes New York needs to pursue a specific veteran.
Right now, there's no other choice for the Jets on the roster.
Most guys thought that Carson Wentz would be the answer because you wouldn't have to give up anything.
You know, Frank Wright did not want to cut Carson Wentz in Indianapolis.
He didn't.
The owner did because the owner overreacted to two losses at the end of the season.
Carson Wentz is not playing for a reason, but he also is not going to be a guy that's just going to do a throw.
Well, he has, but not as bad as Zach Wilson.
I'll let you take it first. Go ahead.
Well, Carson Wentz has had a locker room issue.
I was really very much a pro Carson Wentz guy, but I think this locker room is really good.
I think it's a great locker room.
I wouldn't make that change.
That's not the guy I'd bring it.
I don't think Bumer Sice has done his homework here.
He doesn't know what happened with Wents and Philly.
I mean, this is nobody, nobody is bringing in Carson Wens for a loan.
Nobody around Lowe.
And I don't know if it was great in Indy, although his season numbers, 27 TD7 picks.
Listen, I have back Carson Wins.
You did in Indy.
I have back Carson Wins.
But at some point, he's inconsistent physically.
He's inconsistent, sometimes emotionally.
Like, he'll have games.
He's a reckless.
quarterback. So,
Zach Wilson's a reckless quarterback, but the room,
this is a really tight room.
Now, now, if they go out and lay an egg against
New England, I may change my tune.
I would not make that move. And I am as
pro Carson Wentz. I don't think there's a national
host who likes Carson Wentz more than I do.
It's like the Sam Darnold thing. I am a sucker
for athletic. I can deal
with reckless. Matt Stafford can be reckless.
Hey, Peyton Manning pick.
Some of the great quarterbacks,
Bradshaw's, Aikman, Elway, they threw a lot of picks. I am not anti. Andrew Luck, I love.
He threw picks. So I tend to be a sucker for talented, even if it's a little reckless.
I am a Wentz fan. I think this may sound more appropriate. Maybe boomers a week ahead of it.
If they lose to the Patriots and it's ugly, then maybe next week at this time we're like,
Carson Wentz is the only hope. We're not going to be like Carson Wentz. We're not.
We're going to go kick over every dumpster you can find and find something before you go to Carson Wentz.
There's not much out there.
There's not much out.
There's not.
Listen, who, Nick Wright suggested James Winston.
I would sooner bring in James Winston than Carson Winston.
I would definitely take to Kirk Cousins.
James Winston is Carson Wentz to me, but a little goofier.
You want a locker room nightmare like Carson Wentz going into the Jets locker room?
No, they didn't want him in Philly.
So let me ask you this.
Does Carson Wentz win multiple playoff games?
No.
I'm not, listen.
Kurt Cousins does.
No, he doesn't.
No, he doesn't.
By the way, I just looked this up for fun.
So Boomer-Risicent, I think of them as like...
Let's, can we stop?
We don't have to criticize other people.
Well, I'm not.
I looked this up, though, because Zach Wilson can't complete passes, right?
Yeah.
Boomer Sison, 57% completion for his career.
Well, that was a different era.
57?
Well, that was a different era.
Back then, not many kids.
Was anybody completing 64% back then, 65?
He was a very, he won an MVP.
He was a very good quarterback.
Let's just be positive here.
We're not taking shots at other people.
I mean, I, listen.
It just thought that was a lazy, too.
Look, Rickard Carson Woods.
Come on, that's nonsense.
Time out.
Isn't Carson Wentz, arguably, the most talented quarterback unemployed in America.
There's absolutely an argument.
I would argue yes.
I need the list.
No, no, no, no, no.
I know the list.
He is.
Teddy Bridgewater's in the mix.
He's not as big, strong, mobile with the arm of Carson Wentz.
Carson Wentz is the most talented quarterback unemployed.
If he's so talented, why has nobody kicked the title?
Well, their locker room stuff has been documented multiple times.
That's fair.
He's also reckless.
And if you're reckless, Matt Stafford's reckless, he's got a Super Bowl.
Reckless works.
Andrew Luck was reckless.
11 and 5, 11 and 5.
You got to win when you're reckless.
Max Duggan?
By the way, Sam Darnold's reckless didn't win.
now he's a backup.
Oh, Max Stuggin, Sam Darnel's going to eat forever in this league is a backup somewhere.
Next up, sticking with New York teams, Sequin Barclay had that ankle injury.
Here it is, if you're watching.
Pretty gruesome.
Did not look good at all.
However, early indications he would miss three weeks.
Brian Dable refused to rule him out for Thursday's game against the Niners.
Wow.
I don't know if you care to share anything on his timeline, but obviously somebody can be out for
release sometime.
Well, I wouldn't count on that, Dan.
Not just yet.
Okay.
I mean, safe to save out on Thursday night.
I'm not saying that he's out yet.
He's a quick healer.
I'm not saying he's in.
He's out.
We're going to take it all the way up with him to Thursday.
But he feels a lot better today.
I just talked to him.
So we'll see where we're at.
By the way, the Giants, okay, so you didn't like the Giants.
I think they were okay.
So let's take the Dallas game out.
This season, right?
I said I think they're going to squeak into the playoffs.
I was probably wrong.
It's probably the commanders.
but I'll say this.
So they got rolled by Dallas.
Arizona, terrible half, great half.
This morning, what are the Giants?
This morning.
They're garbage.
They're going to get destroyed.
So third game in 12 days to start the season,
you played a physical Dallas defense,
and you could not move the football.
You couldn't do anything after that.
Who's up next for them?
You now face a physical team in San Francisco.
They're staying out west,
which is at least smart by Dable.
But Colin, Giants backup running backs.
Ready?
Matt Breed on.
And Gary Brightwell.
Breedda's not a bad player.
Matt Breedda is so positive today.
Maybe you're going to rub off on me.
Maybe I'd be in too negative.
Matt Brita is a nice player.
Matt Brita's a nice player.
All right.
Here we go.
Matt Brita's been around the league for years.
He's not around the league because he's a Steph.
He's a nice player.
I'd like to have Matt Brita.
You love everybody.
Well, I don't love everybody.
I said earlier.
Matt Brita is a nice player.
Yes.
I mean, listen, if you're in the league for a long time,
Matt's been around.
Hopefully he can pick up a blitz
because Daniel Jones is going to be
under some pressure against the Niners.
I'm not always nice on the Giants.
This is a double-digit spread, by the way.
This is 10, 10 and a half 11th.
Yeah, I'm staying away from it.
I think you're going to lose.
You don't want the free,
for free, uh, fade the Giants money?
You think it's free?
This is close, this is as close to a layup as you can find this week on the
card.
You think the 49ers get struggle here?
He's going to take like a Brock Purdy pick six or something crazy.
I think the Giants are going to,
win the game by about 10. I think the number. Nineers are going to beat the jump. Nineers are going to
win by about 10. It's going to be, my guess is it's going to be, uh, it's in that whole 2717
San Francisco. Giants getting 17 would be impressive. Final story. This is fascinating. You're going to
love this. So there have been rumors, rumor, sorry, that Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift have been dating.
I know you're hot on this. I got to be honest. I'm really, I don't know why I'm into this, but they're both
kind of good looking fun people.
I'm for this.
Okay.
I love to see.
Young love is wonderful.
Young love is wonderful.
Okay.
So there was a podcast this week and Travis Kelsey's brother Jason said this about his brother dating Taylor Swift.
It's hard to answer because I don't really know a lot about what's happening.
Travis's love life and I try to like keep, you know, his business kind of his business.
Sure.
and stay out of that world.
But having said that, man, I think it's doing great,
and I think it's all 100% true,
and I hope that this soon goes to my own down to.
I don't know what's happening.
I mean, she's dated artists and musicians and all, you know,
those people can be flaky.
He's a stable professional athlete from a good family with a great brother.
This is a relationship.
They're going to get married.
It's going to be Hanks and Rita Wilson.
You watch.
So a lot of nerdy TikTok people are,
saying that Taylor Swift is in, it was an Eagles fan, I guess, from her background or whatever.
Yeah.
And that this is like a- She's from Nashville, isn't she?
That's what I thought. I don't really know. But they're all saying that this is a get back at the chiefs.
It's not true. It's not true. But now the brother's saying it's true.
Or maybe. I kind of like this. Or maybe she's falling in love.
Nobody falls in love that quickly, dude. Come on.
Are you a love at first sight guy?
I, eight minutes in to my first date with Ann, it was like, this is going to work.
Look at her. She's gorgeous. She's talented. That's true.
She is gorgeous and talented.
I'll guarantee you I'll never go to as good of a concert again in my life.
She can make the mortgage. You don't have to worry about the mortgage rest of your life.
A mortgage. Goodness gracious. She can do more. I mean, she's...
Look at her. She's got that little grin.
You know, I told you about the dream I had where she was my neighbor.
No, you didn't. You don't discuss your dreams with me. Thank God.
It was my kid's birthday and, like, she came to play the guitar at the birthday.
And, like, everybody liked her because she's friendly.
And it's like Taylor Swift just seems like she'd be a nice person to hang with, you know?
Well, yeah, it's never going to happen for me.
For you, maybe.
Okay.
For the Kelsey brother.
I'm telling you, I think I can't speak for women.
But I went out with my wife and I knew instantly.
How long did it take you when you, by the way, hit on, you know, your wife pushed back and your nonsense, but you met her at a restaurant or something?
Bar, bar in New York City.
How long before you were like?
I mean, I had game back in my first.
prime i was you know i had some stuff going on i i see what did describe game yeah i think we're good here
i don't i don't really need to get any insight on that all right j mac with the news well that's the news
and thanks for stopping okay the heard line news okay my staff is saying taylor swift is from pennsylvania i
didn't know that so a funny story not that you care years ago i have i have a friend in nashville
and he worked in the same office as taylor swift's dad so i
That's why I thought he's in Nashville, beautiful city.
So I thought she was from Nashville.
And a very smart dad.
And I told my buddy, I said, my daughter loves Taylor Swift.
This was like over 10 years ago.
And three days later in the mail, I got a Taylor Swift pick, picture, and an autograph.
And I was like, boy, these people are buttoned up.
Like, they know what they're doing.
So like Taylor Swift and her dad in that family, they are really smart.
Like that she is a business person who entertains.
I mean, she really knows what she's doing.
So she's from Pennsylvania, I am told.
Maybe I should be on TikTok more, and I would have known that.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

A win is a win.
A win is a win.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jett.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because.
of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
Podcasts.
Sunday, it's a huge doubleheader on Fox, starting with Derek Carr and the Saints,
taking on Jordan Love and the Packers or other regional action.
Then in America's game of the week, Justin Fields and the Bears,
battle Patrick Palhams and the Chiefs, or Cowboys Cardinals all on Fox in the Fox Sports app.
What are laughing about?
All these people on social media are upset that I said Boomer Ossison was being lazy
in his Carson Wednesday, and they're now tagging Boomer O'Sycin.
Good.
To get me engaged in some war.
of words with this guy. Like, I care.
Whatever. It's funny.
Yeah. All right. So, Kirk Cousins,
Kyle Rudolph, good player.
Tied in. Kyle just retired, I believe, didn't he? Didn't Kyle Rudolph
just retire? Very, very nice career.
And he was talking about, I think it was on Fox Sports Radio, he was talking about
Kirk Cousins. Kirk Cousins is a funny thing. He was on the quarterback Netflix show.
I thought he was very, very likable.
Again, he got a guaranteed contract before Deshaun
Watson, like those are the two guaranteed deals. So obviously there's value around the league.
Not many people get those. And Kyle Rudolph was talking about Kirk Cousins in Minnesota.
Kirk Cousins was brought to Minnesota to get them over the hump to win a Super Bowl coming
off of an NFC championship game loss. The quarterback was supposed to be the missing piece that put
a super talented roster over the hump to win a championship. We're at this spot,
from an organizational standpoint where where are you going? What are you doing? What's the plan?
So why haven't you extended him? It hasn't worked. Kirk Cousins has worked to the level he's
capable of working. He entered the NFC North, the Packers own the division, and Aaron Rogers
was in his prime and rolling. Kirk Cousins in nine games against him went four, four, and one. That's
working with a one-on-one passer rating, 18 TDs, eight picks, and completion percentage of 66.
That's not working.
That's fantastic.
Four or five seasons with Cousins, 500 or better, two playoff appearances and a
playoff win.
Well, Colin, that's what?
How many playoff wins the Steelers have in five years?
Let's start with zero.
How many do the Cowboys have?
And the great Dak Prescott?
Two.
Kirk Cousins has worked.
No controversies.
No chaos.
Couple playoff appearances in a division with Aaron Rogers.
It worked.
There's only one team in the NFL, one franchise, one coach, one quarterback,
Andy Reed and Patrick Mahomes that can have the expectations,
Super Bowl or disappointing.
Conference championship or disappointing.
everybody else is trying to get to the playoffs.
You think the Rams think they're going to win a Super Bowl?
They'll be over the moon with the Niners in their division if they can make the playoffs.
You think New England really thinks they can win the Super Bowl?
Bill Belichick would take a playoff appearance today, even if it was a one and done.
90% of this league just get to the playoffs.
Baltimore Ravens are very good.
Steelers, Brown's roster, Joe Burrow, you just take a playoff appearance.
He walked into that division with Aaron Rogers at the time.
Many people thought Aaron was the best quarterback in the world.
Brady was the most productive, but Aaron was the most talented.
He was the marino of our time.
Went 4-4-1 against him.
4-4-1.
So it worked.
Just have to be realistic.
So I want to go to something Nick Ruff.
said on the show yesterday.
So Nick Wright came on the show.
He sees with Russell Wilson in Denver,
J-Mack said I'm being overly positive today.
Nick yesterday came in.
He sees a tsunami about to happen with Russell Wilson and the Broncos.
Russell Wilson has been better than he was last year.
He also has been in the second half of games.
a bottom five quarterback.
Sean Payton is not going to go down with the Russell Wilson ship.
He's just not.
And while people can say whatever they want, you can read intention through action.
And two years, $10 million for Jared Stidham being one of your major offseason moves,
that's not in case Russell Wilson gets hurt.
I think Russell Wilson doesn't make it through the buy as the starter for Denver
with the way things are going.
All right.
So let's be honest.
And let's be factual.
Russell Wilson is a much better player than last season.
These are the actual numbers.
A 108.5 passer rating, fourth in the league.
Five to one touchdown interception ratio or numbers.
68% completion percentage.
Now, his second halves have been disappointing.
He just evaporated second half against Washington.
And Sean Payton says the plays are getting in late, but Sean also says some of that's on me.
I thought this team would double their win totals, but it's a prediction.
It's the NFL.
I still think they get to nine wins.
Look at the schedule.
Miami is tough, but it's followed up with Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Jordan Love, Kirk Cousin, C.J.
Stroud, Mack Jones, there's a Deshawn Watson game, Jared Goff, Jimmy Garoppolo, again.
Those are winnable games.
this team was better.
They scored.
First of all, losing to the Raiders, a division rival.
Garopolo's been to a Super Bowl.
Josh McDaniel's got Super Bowl rings.
Max Crosby, Devonte Adams.
There's playmakers.
Josh Jacobs.
Division rival.
Week three a couple years ago,
Kansas City lost at home at Arrowhead to the Chargers.
I think it could be wrong.
Wasn't Justin Herbert a rookie?
He was just out of Oregon.
He barely played a pro game.
He went into Arrowhead and beat him.
The Chiefs, by the way, that year started.
Three and four through seven games.
That's not the end of the world.
Rivalry game.
Jimmy Garoppolo.
Sean Payton tried an onside kick.
It failed.
Raiders scored first.
Short field.
Bit of a break.
I thought it was a mistake by Peyton.
And then, well, they lost to Washington.
What the hell?
What if Washington's good?
There's a team every year we don't think is going to be good.
Last year it was the Giants.
What if Washington's the Giants?
Excellent defensive line.
veteran coach that's been to a Super Bowl, two excellent receivers and a back I like,
and Sam Howe, not a lot of film on him.
He's been a gamer.
They scored 33 points last week.
Now, the Hail Mary, blah, blah, blah, but it does count.
33 points is the most they've scored since Russell Wilson's been in Denver.
The first halfs have been outstanding.
I do think at the trade deadline, they may want to go after some defensive line help.
They're not getting consistent pressure.
I don't know if they have cap space to do that.
They certainly can't bring an elevated star player, but they could just use some bodies on the defensive line.
But I see wins on this schedule.
I thought they would double the win total.
I thought it was a nine or ten win team.
I didn't buy into the 12 because I thought Sean Payton had to fix the culture, fix Russell Wilson, fix the offensive line.
It was too many asks to win 12 games in the AFC in that division.
But I still look at it and I can see nine.
I don't think they're going to beat Miami.
Oh, it's 0 and 3.
Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, two games against the Chiefs.
They can't win one.
They can't win one game.
You don't think they're going to have one upset win this year at Denver, Kansas City?
I see Kirk Cousins at home, Deshawn Watson at home.
I mean, Deshawn Watson has not looked good at all.
And then C.J. Stroud, Mack Jones at home, Jimmy Garoppolo a second time.
I had him at like 10.
I think I still have them at 9.
So is this a must-win game against the offense?
No, I mean, no, I don't think they're going to win the game.
I think it's asking too much.
But I'm saying if they win nine games this year,
every year there's a team that misses the playoffs
and we're like, pretty good team.
Last year, Detroit, we're like, that's a pretty good team.
If they miss the playoffs and win nine games go nine and eight,
and I think it's in play.
Okay.
And by the way, Russell looks like by the end of the year,
he's a starting quarterback in this league top 15.
Is that bad?
But wait a minute, wait a minute.
17 games.
If they lose this weekend, take three games off the board.
So in their final 14, they're going to win nine?
Yeah.
With two games against the Chargers, two against the Chiefs?
Yeah.
Win the home games.
Yes.
I guess the, well, we don't have time, but.
Joel Clatt, positive day for the herd.
