This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but the show.
celebrated. So let's get to it.
Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok's podcast network on TikTok.
Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday on Fox Sports
Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific. Find your local station for the herd at
Fox Sports Radio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeart Radio app by searching Fox Sports

Now let's get this party started.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Right, Kavino and Rich, in for the great Colin Cowherd.
In for Colin.
It's the herd.
It's a Friday.
Let's do it.
You heard, let's go.
Not just the Friday, Dickie Davis.
Holiday weekend Friday.
Extended weekend Friday.
I'm pumped, man.
I'm pumped.
Let's do it.
And you know, it's cool.
Not only are we filling in for the herd today.
We're filling in for the DP show on Monday.
So we never get a break.
But we're not just filling frank.
We actually do this Monday through Friday on our own show.
Two to four on the West.
That's four, that's five to seven on the east.
And by the way, we're from the East Coast, Kavino and Rich.
If you don't know, now you know, out here in the mean streets of L.A.
Live from the Barrios, S.A.
That's Sherman Oaks, not the Barrio at all.
Danny G. is in the house.
What up, Danny G.
What up, Danny G.
G.R.
Super producer.
Happy Friday.
Ryan, who's going to be giving us the herd line news a little bit.
What's up, Ryan?
Great to be with you guys again today.
You know what?
I appreciate, Ryan, your professionalism, the fact that you actually put clothes on, like an adult, comes in here looking handsome.
Unlike some people in their PJs.
Dude, I'm wearing gym shorts and a T-shirt because I got a plan.
After the show, going to the gym, relaxing, doing my thing.
I wasn't just calling you out, Rich.
I was calling out all the parents that are sending their kids to school this week in their pajamas.
You know, kids wear pajama pants and crocs.
That's the outfit of every young teen nowadays.
There's a mom at my daughter's school who shows up in booty shorts.
You know the ones that have the seam in the crack?
Oh, yeah.
And all the other moms are like, who's she?
Oh, wow.
She's got the sports bra and the booty shorts on.
And I appreciate it.
But the other moms, you can see that they're like, I'm like, God, look a hat.
Well, we're going to talk about back to school, Thornton Mellon style.
Rodney Dangerfield style.
Billy Madison style?
Absolutely.
And we have a question.
about back to school because it's September 1st. It's the first of the month. So most kids
go back to school after this holiday weekend. Plus, Kelly Stafford is saying she may have made
the biggest mistake ever and we'll explain why. Slow down Kelly Stafford. It's not that big of
a mistake and I'll tell you why. Plus Aaron Rogers living a dream. We'll talk some jets.
Of course, a ton of NFL today. The focus today, NFL because we are less than a week away.
Andy Reid's in the news. I know you have a funny story because let's say Andy Reid got great advice from the most random of people.
Right, right, yeah. So be dialing. Give us a call. Save this number because it's a new number. 818, 98, 907-0062. That's 818.
I'm writing it down too. Say again.
907-0662. Or you could play at home or at the office on your way to work safely, of course, at Covino and Rich.
social media. Again, I'm Steve Kavino, just a kid from Union, New Jersey.
Rich Davis is right there with his red hot chili pepper shirt on, even though he doesn't even
rock out. And here we go, let's go. So before we get to Kelly Stafford and the tragic
mistake she made, which is really not that bad, I get in here and I buy one of these juice
cleanses last week. It's like 200 bucks. It's not cheap. It's five days. You take five juices a day,
but all you could do is drink the juice.
I think you're drinking the juice.
I think you're drinking the Kool-Aid because we've all done this, right?
These get-ripped quick schemes never work.
The only thing that ever works is calories in, calories out,
but actual effort and lifestyle changes.
If you're saying this is going to be the jumpstart to your new life,
then okay.
Then okay, but I'm not buying it.
Sometimes I feel like you need to refresh, and I come in here,
and if you freeze juices, I had to look this up.
If you freeze them, they could stay good for a while.
But if you keep them in the fridge, they'll go bad because they're fresh, no sugar juices.
And as I'm getting ready to start my juice cleanse today, Danny G.
hits us up with a text message with a box of donuts.
And he's like, I got our sugar for the morning.
Hey, I got some Dunkin' Donuts.
And by the way, how could you resist that?
How could you resist Dunkin' Donuts, Boston Cream?
And those Bavarians, they're great with their filling, too.
man, because those are fantastic.
You ever go to Bavaria?
Yeah. How do you resist something like that when you're getting ready for your holiday
weekend? You've got to think of it this way too. Holiday weekend, extended weekend.
There's no way you're going to keep it clean the entire weekend.
You're going to be boozing on something, dipping into something else.
You're going to have pizza or something. You're going to have burgers.
So how do you resist your donuts on a Friday?
And by the way, this is our fitness segment of the day, Kavino and Rich.
Fitness segment?
Do you have a fitness segment?
Yeah, fitness donut in my mouth.
Do you get some squat thrust in a little bit?
We're talking health and fitness here.
You don't have to explain it to get out of here.
We're talking about juice.
And, you know, I'm aggravated to begin with because I'm like, all about to start.
Danny gives us the text message about donuts.
And then one of the parents from my daughter's school text me and says, this weekend, my kids want to play with your kids.
I'm like, oh, you know what?
Have them swing by.
We'll go in the pool and I'll cook up some food I can't eat.
And then I thought about it.
If you're ever trying to do a juice cleanse, I was talking to Ryan about this, Monday through Friday, way easier to eat clean than on the weekend.
Of course. No debate.
It's not even close.
I can't even imagine trying to go through something like that and putting it off to the weekend, let alone a holiday weekend.
It's just not happening.
I put them right back in the freezer.
I'm like, freeze these bad boys.
There's no way because you're going to want to drink.
So again, Rich came in today with all the intentions to start his cleanse and then realized, what am I doing?
We've got donuts and a holiday weekend ahead of us.
I'll start on Monday, but you realize that's what everybody says.
You know what?
I'll start on Monday.
And then you do your juice cleanse on Monday, but then the weekend comes around again.
I hope you know that.
So unless, of course, you decide to completely change all your habits,
that cleanse isn't going to really do anything for you.
You know why?
Because we've been there.
We've done that.
Like Dr. Drake.
What do a lot of people do it?
Maybe to jumpstart and then really change your life around.
You don't have the willpower.
You don't know William Power at all to say no to a drink,
to say no to a pizza
and I don't blame you and even why
it's our issue
it's just that a certain stage of life
certain stage of the game you try to find every shortcut
possible
and the truth is there is no shortcuts
a good spot is staying silent over there
because he knows I'm right
and he doesn't have a microphone
and he doesn't have a microphone
that's also but you know he
he thinks he's slim good body
because he knows through hard work
it's the only way his attitude is
I don't even know why you're doing the juice cleanse
because next week you're just going to
you know eat whatever
you want again.
Facts.
But to me, I mean, listen,
you're going to have pizza once in a while.
You're going to have burgers.
Just to set it straight.
If you're like three or 400 pounds, no offense.
Maybe you'll be a, maybe you're good as a lineman in the NFL.
But if you're a big dude and you go on a diet,
you can lose 50 pounds like that.
Hey, Rich, I hate to break it to you.
Not all people 300 pounds are linemen in the NFL.
So those people might take offense.
And people listening that are three or 400 pounds?
And they might slap you the next time they see you.
I'm saying is that I'll pretend I don't know you you'll see a you know you have a friend that's
you know big fella big woman and they say something like they say something like what
they say something yeah get if they're able to get up they'll say so I'm kidding they say something
like you know I stopped drinking sodies and I drop 50 pounds well of course you drop 50 pounds
you stop drinking soda you know to tie into something current I'm telling you I'm trying to lose five
pounds. If you're a guy that's roughly six foot,
190, 200 pounds, and you want
to drop 5 to 10 pounds,
I see no harm in the juice clans or
a new little... Listen, they are
little schemes, and I'm a sucker for these schemes.
We've all done it, I get it,
but you're right. Here's what Rich is trying
to say without sounding rude.
What? For a bigger person,
right, they have more room,
more wiggle room...
Jiggle room. More jiggle room.
I didn't say that. You said that. More wiggle room
to lose the weight, so they could do something
simple like cut soda
that's what post Malone did recently
people are like yo post Malone
are you on Ozempic because that's the
new rage I don't know if you guys are aware of that
fans that are saying yo is he on drugs
like is something going wrong there's jingles and everything
oh oh oh Zampic
people are taking Ozambic people are losing
drug for diabetes yes but people are taking it
to lose weight right so post Malone
loses all this weight and they're like well how did you
do it he loses over 50 pounds
and he says I gave up
soda. What Rich is saying is
he doesn't have, if he gave up
soda, he doesn't have an extra 50 pounds
to lose that weight. He just
needs to lose 5 pounds. So what does he have to
give up? So he's getting on a juice
cleanse to lose those 5 extra pounds.
The thing is, there's people that know what I'm talking about.
You will lose 5 pounds, Rich, but you will gain
that back immediately unless you change
something, that's a fact. So essentially
there's no point to juice for 5 days?
And not unless you really made a lifestyle change
and really started to push it, which
again, I know you say you're going to do, but you're not,
I've known you long enough, but the juice cleanse is a waste of $200, period.
And you're torturing yourself for a week.
There's a lot of people that know what I'm talking about where, you know, you go to the gym,
but you've got a little bit of the dad bod going because you're busy.
You got kids.
You don't have the abjew used to.
You know, you can spare to lose five pounds or so.
I think this is how to do it.
You can make fun of me in a week when you see no difference and I'm miserable.
I mean, Straching carrot juice.
corner because he knows that's exactly what's going to happen.
You just waste the $200.
Look on your face.
I'll tell you what, too.
Rich hit me up and he goes, do you want in on this?
Because I'm about to order this $200 cleanse.
And I thought about it because I'm like, you know what?
It's a good way to boost you in the right direction.
And I thought about it.
And I'm like, you know what?
You're going to gain it right back.
It's like anything, dude.
Like keto works.
I was on keto.
I lost a ton of weight.
But once you're off it, it like comes back so fast.
Sometimes more with a vengeance, dude, because you're.
body's so depleted.
So then when you finally have that burger or that pizza or that drink, you just overindulged
and you gain more back.
All right.
Well, hey, any experience with the juice cleanse?
Juice.
Juice.
Juice.
Juice.
No juice.
Hey, juice.
Hey, juice.
All right.
So Rich's five-day cleanse begins on Monday, I guess.
No, Tuesday, because Monday's Labor Day.
No, I'm going to start on Monday.
Are you really?
I'm not buying it.
I'm not buying it at all.
And you guys are all going to be jealous.
People are going to be like, look at how he went from DadBod to RadBot.
Well, Rich, we're not on our normal schedule in the afternoons until Wednesday or, well, I guess Tuesday, right?
Yeah, Tuesday.
Tuesday.
So maybe you should start Wednesday to settle in for one day.
This just seems like a big pain in the ass now.
Can I return it?
It's 200 bucks.
By the way, the only real way to balance out a DadBod or a bad bod is to just make more money.
So keep bringing it on the air.
Keep making some ducats.
And then, you know, the dad bond doesn't really matter that much.
You see these fat guys with yachts with all these hot women dancing on them?
Yeah.
Yeah, so you balance it out.
I need a boat.
All right.
Well, hey, Kavino and Rich at Kovino and Rich in for Colin on the herd.
Now, coming up in a few minutes, we've got to talk about Kelly Stafford.
You know what, let's refresh everyone's memory.
A couple days ago, there was that story where, you know, her husband, Matthew Stafford,
wasn't connecting with the young players.
It's kind of crazy.
So Matthew's been in the league a long time, right?
We've been talking about this.
He's like, the difference in the locker room has changed so significantly.
And they have a lot of rookies on their team this year.
They're very young.
So this will be a very interesting season.
You know, they're young.
They're learning.
But he's like, I feel like I can't connect because in the old days, you would come out of practice.
Old days.
It's during training camp.
Shower.
People would be playing cards.
People would be interacting.
Who knows what they're doing?
He said now they get down with practice or get down with meetings during training camp and they go straight to their phones.
Makes sense to me.
Young kids go to their phones.
At no point when she's saying this that she think, maybe I shouldn't be saying this.
This is between him and I.
Because you would assume that maybe she ran this by her husband before she started to yap about this.
And by the way, every younger woman does have the, every sentence ends on an uptick.
I hope Matt doesn't get mad when he finds out this goes viral and everyone's talking about it and it puts him in an awkward situation.
Kelly Stafford is not the only young, beautiful woman that talks like this.
That's not the mocker. My girlfriend talks the same way.
You might as well replace her with your girlfriend.
Exactly.
But Kelly Stafford, there's an update and we're going to tell you all about it next.
And I think she's being pretty hard on herself.
And I think we don't.
I do not.
For the record, I don't at all.
I think we are all way over playing this whole Stafford locker room, connecting, not connecting, young players, old players.
How could she say that her husband's locker room?
I think what you're about to say, you're going to regret the way she regrets it because you sound like a fool right now.
You sound more foolish than me and my juice cleanse.
You know what, typical rich, blubberlip Davis, he thinks everything goes and there is no such thing as a secret or, you know, let's keep this behind closed doors.
You want to tell everybody anything.
You never stop yapping.
So of course you'd defend that.
Kelly Stafford will give you the update next here on Kavino and Rich.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-taped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
All right, welcome back.
Kavino and Rich.
In for Colin.
I'm the herd.
I'm Steve Kavino.
That is Rich Davis.

Holiday weekend has begun.
You should be more pumped, man.
Everyone should be a little more excited.
Holiday.
It's a holiday.
Celebrate.
Everyone's kids are officially back in school starting after Labor Day.
It's our last weekend without NFL football.
Oh, yeah.
Let's celebrate.
So it's pretty exciting to me.
Hey, by the way, Rich.
Yeah. I was just talking with Covino, and we have Buffalo Wild Wings planned for Thursday for the opener.
Sweet, man. Oh, wait. You're on a juice cleanse.
Oh, yeah. So I guess you're not going to eat or hang out or have a drink for NFL kickoff.
Oh, man.
Oh, I think that time of the day, it's either the carrot one or the root one.
I think, yeah, can I bring my juices to the bar?
Yeah. You know what? It's not happening, bro. Give it up.
Rich's juice cleanse. If you want to chime in on that, by the way.
There's no get ripped quick schemes.
Hit us up at Covino and Rich.
Remember the numbers 818-907-0062.
818-907-0062.
And let me say before we talk about Kelly Stafford, Matt Stafford's wife,
it's a pleasure to be here.
Thank you for all the feedback.
We had a fun show yesterday.
If you missed it, catch it on the podcast.
But keep the feedback coming and keep chiming in.
Again, we're very interactive, very inclusive.
If you can't call, hit us up on the Twitter.
he's on the Twitter, Denny G's on Twitter,
at Covino and Rich.
I'm sorry, X.
Well, you know what?
Even if it's not nice stuff, I was fun.
When you fill in for Colin, you get a ton of feedback because his audience is huge.
And there's a lot of people that are like, yeah, I'll love you guys and not other people.
You know, not so kind.
But I'll still chat with you.
I'll still chop it up.
Let's go.
So at Covino and Rich.
But Kelly Stafford, again, we talked about it days ago.
she talks about how maybe Matthew is not connecting with the guys in the locker room.
Just by the beginning of it again, Ryan.
It's kind of crazy.
Crazy?
So Matthew's been in the league a long time, right?
We've been talking about this.
He's like, the difference in the locker room has changed so significantly.
So significantly.
Because the guys are all on their phones and no one's playing cards and, you know,
we used to walk uphill both ways to school.
It's not the olden days.
I mean, yeah, but you know what that shows?
I mean, she's blatantly saying it.
The disconnect between the quarterback and his teammates.
That's not something you just blurt out there.
That's a very private conversation.
You know, and if you can't see that,
that makes me wonder what you tell your wife
and other people when I'm not around.
It makes me think as your bud and co-hosts.
I tell my wife everything unless it's top layer.
Yeah, well, I can't wait to hear with top layers,
but that makes me think,
Don't tell Rich.
If you think it's okay for Kelly Stafford to be saying this on a public podcast when her husband is Matt Stafford, then it makes me wonder what I should tell you.
You share everything with your spouse.
Ryan, do you not tell your spouse everything?
Yeah, I tell her everything.
That's what you talk about.
I even go so far as even my best friends who I've grown up since like elementary school, if they start telling me something, I go, hey, do you want Kim to know about this?
she's going to find out exactly all right Ryan i'm going to ask you then
Ryan's hanging out with us again on the phones 818 907 0062
you have a buddy everybody has a buddy who's a slub who's up to no good
he's doing something weird but he's your buddy right you grew up together he lived on
your street he used to play with football 100% everybody's got one he's your bud and he's like
yeah man you know i'm scheming on uh on my old lady right
don't tell anybody well what kind of guy are we talking about yeah the type of guy that
would call his wife and old lady yeah
So, hey, you know.
Let me break the news to you.
I don't have any friends who are 75 years old.
Hey, my old lady.
People like that say things like that, right?
Hey, so I met this girl online and we're hanging out.
You know, don't tell anybody, though.
But, man, you know, because things are tough in my marriage.
But this girl, she, but don't tell anybody.
You're going to tell your wife that.
Here's why I say, don't.
I'm not saying keep secrets.
I'm not trying to ruin your relationship.
What I'm saying is next time you go to hang out with your bud,
she's going to think that, you know, this is the type of people you hang with.
Sure.
And that's the type of guy you may be.
So you've planted a seed in her head that's unnecessary and completely untrue because just
because he's a slub and he's up to no good doesn't mean that you're the same way.
It's fair.
Now, where I draw the line is you don't got to go volunteering information that doesn't need to be shared.
So there you go.
I'm not necessarily, to your point, I'm not going to go run home and be like, whoa, you'll never believe what so-and-so told.
me. But if she's like, hey, what's going on with Mikey and
Sally? I've got to be like, hey, you know, he told me things are rough. He may be doing
something that's not right. I think it's not preposterous at all. Matthew
Stavard's going to tell Kelly everything. She just happens to have a podcast that women and men
listen to. And she's the wife of a Super Bowl winning quarterback. I tell my wife everything
except top layer. When I say top layer, that means, and it's only one layer, it's
infidelity. If one of my buddies, if word of
bachelor party and it's like hey you know Doug you know banged a stripper I'm not telling my wife I'm not
telling my wife well she's gonna hate Doug but she doesn't want you hanging out with Doug you could
Rich Davis here you could trust in me not to tell my wife or your wife if you did something like that
well if you know come to me and he's like yo dude you ever get a really uh itchy but hole I think
I have hemorrhoids I'm gonna tell my wife Cavino's got hemorrhoids why would you
start that rumor on the herd so I mean by the way that's not even true I just want to make that
Clear, relax there.
No, I don't.
No spot, did you hear?
Hey, hold on now.
I just want to make this clear, too.
This is a two-layer sort of question.
I get that people are going to tell their girlfriend and spouse most things.
We have to assume that.
When you're confiding in your bud, there's a great chance he's going to tell his wife.
We have that understanding.
So I'm not saying Matt Stafford's completely in the wrong here.
That happens.
We're all lying if we don't admit that.
But there are lines, and maybe that's one of them.
Look, I'm not a professional athlete.
Maybe you know you're taking a chance if you let other people in on some of those stories.
But all the wives talk.
Yeah, but the big ball drop.
The big ball dropped is by Kelly talking about this on a public podcast.
Now, keep in mind, when we first heard the story, I questioned it, but I assume that she had to have run this by Stafford first.
Well, listen.
And it turns out she didn't.
Before I give you my theory, I got to ask, do you one spot?
you guys are my best spots. Do you have top-tier level spot or no?
I tell it all. See, he tells it all. That's why spots the type of guy.
You might hold back some of the dirty stuff. Right? Like, you know there's people that are like,
I can't tell that person, everything. Not everyone's got stuff to hide. But not to name drop.
Kavino and Rich at the Super Bowl.
Uh-oh.
No, this is not bad. No, I can't wait to hear the name drop.
We talked to Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers.
and one of the things we talked about was his beautiful fiancée, Olivia Colpo,
got along so great with the other 49ers, girlfriends, and wives.
And that was a big factor into him feeling comfortable right away in the Bay Area.
Wives and girlfriends, we talked about it yesterday with Aaron Donald's wife wanting a Super Bowl ring.
We've said Erica Donald, by the way, had a Super Bowl ring.
She's saying that every supportive wife should have a Super Bowl ring.
And Rich and I are the first to say, yeah, we agree with that.
Behind every great man is a great woman that supports them.
And they deal with a lot, and they're part of the team.
They deal with so much.
We saw Marcus Mariotta's wife going over all the plays with them on the series quarterback.
We said the wives do, girlfriends, no.
Wives do deserve Super Bowl rings.
We agree.
We talked about it on our new podcast overpromised.
But.
Yeah, well, the thing is, is that think of how much of a hassle it is in your life.
Mm-hmm.
When you're dating someone that's a pain in the ass versus a support.
supportive amazing woman. There's a big difference. There's a big difference. And Kelly Stafford and
Matthew have a great relationship. I think Kelly seems sweet. I don't think she crossed this
major line everyone's talking about. And she feels really bad. If you haven't heard the update,
here's Kelly Stafford. I spoke on a topic that I think it's relatable to the fact that it's
hard to relate to someone who is 10 years younger. And that's what was written actually about. It was a
very relatable thing. And I do think that's entirely
True, but I'm not in an NFL locker.
I'm not spending every day with these teammates.
Obviously, there's relationships.
He spends more time with them than he does with me during the season.
That was tough.
I say all the time, even on my podcast, probably not the best if your wife's names in the media when it comes to, if it's talking about sports.
Agreed.
And I failed pretty bad last week.
But we're going to move forward.
you know hopefully
those guys
and I know those guys know Matthew and
don't read into it because as we know
media can stir things up but
I put my foot in my mouth pretty good
now let's focus on the positive
we've already said it no no no I think she should be
we've already said it
she's deserving of a Super Bowl ring
she is right she's a supportive wife
she's a great woman
that's the woman he chose not trying to come down
on her everybody makes mistakes too
gotta say props
taking full accountability as well.
That's a big woman right there.
And I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm saying that's a big
person. That's a big gesture.
That's a, that's a,
a great thing to do.
And I think she handled
it perfectly.
But we can't
forget that she shouldn't have said that.
She's absolutely right. She should not have said
that. What I don't
think is that
any of these young guys in the locker room
that are
playing with a Super Bowl champion like Matthew Stafford, a guy that's been proven to be a
star in the league, I don't think any of these young guys that are happy to just be on the Rams.
I don't think any of them are like, can you believe what Matt's wife said?
Yeah, but that's for Matt, hold on Instagram too much.
That's for Matt to say and for Matt to address, and she just, you know, long jumped into the
middle of this little controversy here.
If you had an issue at the workplace, everybody has to put themselves in Matt Stafford's
situation.
If you had an issue with some colleagues at the workplace,
imagine if it was your wife or girlfriend that you confided in
who came forth and sort of said,
hey, just so everybody knows, you know,
you guys aren't getting along because he's not liking you
because it's not her place.
I'm sorry, she's not.
And you wouldn't do it either, man.
So you're saying she's being hard on herself.
I think it's completely appropriate here.
Let's move along.
She made a mistake.
It's not the biggest deal in a world.
But it was very much a mistake
and should have been kept in the locker room.
Listen, she didn't say something like,
man, Matthew came home and said,
this team lacks talent and it's going to be a long year.
You want to make a bet?
Matthew came home and said...
When this shows on the field,
when this shows on the field,
this is the first thing that people are going to point to.
People are going to point to this.
Well, Kelly Stafford did say there was a major disconnect
between Matt and the young guys.
You sound like a moron right now.
You know what?
I actually, I don't.
I think there's 90% people that agree with
me, even our boy Lovar Arrington, who played professional sports. You, just because you play Sunday
softball, who cares about your stupid secrets? Lovar Arrington was like, yo man, first of all, that
stuff's supposed to stay within the locker room, period, let alone your wife putting it out there
on blast for the world to know. You just gave every person in the media ammunition the first time
something goes wrong. So you sound like a bozo, bozo? Did you say stupid Sunday softball?
Yeah, I did. Because what I'm saying is right. You're just trying to be.
be nice about it. And I am too.
But she made a mistake. Not trying to be nice
about anything. Give me a second.
Balboa League champion. I'm a
Balboa League champion. But listen,
Kelly Stafford.
I'm sorry, softball MVP. She didn't
say, again, let me finish
the statement. She didn't say, Matthew
came home and said, this player sucks, or
Matthew came home and said, you know,
Sean McVe's new coaching schemes
are terrible. She came home and said,
yeah, Matthew's 30, Matthew's
in his mid-30s. Why would you say that?
guys are 20-something. They're all on their
phones, and when he was young in the league, all the
older guys were playing cards, you know,
the dynamic is changing.
She said, nothing offensive. You're just
being a B like everyone else. It's like, oh, my
God. She said, if anything,
I guarantee the guys in the locker room as a joke.
When Matthew came in the locker room the next time,
they all, like, go, yo, grab your phone.
And it became a joke, I bet. You got to realize
these guys are high-profile players.
They don't need... They don't need... Really? You don't think
Patrick Mahomes went to his wife.
his wife wasn't really doing anything wrong but you don't think he said
Brittany you know I love you I love all your support and everything but like I don't need
you know I don't need any ammunition coming at me that's gonna affect my image in any way or like
I don't need people talking about you on social media like it's a distraction
dude I watched quarterback and after watching quarterback not that she did anything wrong but who
needs that when you're that high profile I don't because you know what there's more to life
than football I know we learned on Ted Lassow it's the other football but football is life
after watching quarterback, I look at Britney Mahomes and say,
what a supportive wife and someone that's got his back regardless.
Keep your name out the news.
Just like Kelly Stafford said, it's football season.
You know what it means?
It's not about them right now.
I get it.
A player's wife.
And I say that respectfully.
I really do.
A player's wife is sort of like a referee or umpire.
If you hear their name, it's probably not good.
That's the point.
Let's get to some herd line news.
Let's go.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
All right, gentlemen, we'll turn our attention to running backs in the NFL instead of quarterbacks.
A few tough years here fighting against the decline in pay for their services.
Derek Henry, the league's two-time rushing champ, is the latest to step up and speak out for his fellow backs.
Trying to correct this wrong.
Here's what he said.
Quote, have you all witnessed it?
I'm pretty sure you all have.
So yes, just trying to show that we are as very valid.
valuable as any other position.
They use this in commercials all over the place.
We just want our shared due.
What did Derek Henry's wife have to say about this?
Mrs. Henry?
Yeah, she fighting for running backs?
Ryan, you know, it's interesting because the pay, you know,
has gone in the wrong direction for running back.
Correct.
But when you look around the stadiums,
I bet you other than the quarterback,
most kids are probably still wearing some running back jerseys.
You're right.
Commercials, endorsements.
running backs are still a marquee position.
It's just the money is, you know, from a financial standpoint, it's a business.
Absolutely.
And, you know, until it's corrected, like we said yesterday, moving forward, maybe the franchise
tag is not a thing anymore.
But running backs...
I would say, in terms of popularity, I do think in terms of pay as well, the wide receivers
have really closed that gap.
Oh, yeah.
You've got guys like O'Dell Beckham Jr., Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson.
These guys are huge.
I mean, you know, how many kids are out there doing the grid?
pretty. Like that's like...
It's a wide receiver thing. Yeah, exactly.
It's like what Steph Curry did for the three-point shot.
Some of these guys making sick catchers like a Jefferson or O'Dell Beckham Jr.
Wide receiver is the hot position.
Yeah, it's the hot position. It kind of feels like...
It kind of feels like when you, with Derek Henry, you know, you see someone who's dealing with
hair loss and they're fighting the good fight.
They're really fighting the good fight.
But you want to just kind of go, hey man, this one might not be a winning battle.
You may need to accept it and just kind of keep moving forward.
Derek Henry is one of the only guys, though, that makes such a difference when he's on?
For sure.
He's one of the only guys that's that impacted this stage of the game.
100%.
Hey, Ryan, you're a young guy.
Can you do the gritty?
I can't gritty, no.
You've never practiced in the mirror?
Well, no, I'm not saying I didn't practice or try.
Even worse that you've practiced and tried.
They couldn't get it together.
Can't do it, man.
I can't either.
I'm not going to lie.
How about the Buccaneers?
They're preparing for life without Tom Brady,
and it appears that maybe that life's not all that pretty.
The latest problem at hand is their superstar wide receiver, Mike Evans.
His agent coming out stating the Buccaneers have until September 9th.
That's the day before Tampa's season begins to come up with a new contract for Evans,
or he will be a free agent at the end of the year,
and he will refuse to resign with the Buccaneers.
Here's a portion of his statement.
Many players with his status would have held out of camp,
not to risk injury, but Mike has continued practicing hard, as always, because he puts the team first,
adding, this is not a tactic, and the ball is in the owner's court.
Man, there's got to be a, you know what, let's be real for a second.
When you're on a team that had Tom Brady, you won a Super Bowl, it was a miraculous moment,
like a great moment in NFL history.
Tom Brady changes teams, you're part of it.
You're on the decline of that now.
No one's saying, wow, Tampa still got it.
Mike Evans probably thinking, like, I want out of here.
anyway. Why is he sticking around there?
Unless his family, unless everything's, unless he's got his house and his kids are in a school
district, unless everything is so perfect from there.
It's a sinking ship. Get the hell out of there.
Totally agree. Totally feels like he's laying the groundwork for, if we suck by the trade
deadline, I'm out of here.
Yeah.
And we'll wrap up with this, a bit of news out of college football, a new day, another big
conference realignment. The ACC has approved adding Stanford, Cal, and SMU starting in the
2024, 2025 school year.
The interesting note here, beyond just all the conference realignment, is the dissension,
which is the big thing that we've seen across these different universities and conferences.
This finally got passed because, according to ESPN, North Carolina State was the one school
to flip their vote, now allowing it to pass, meaning the three universities that still remain
in dissension are reportedly UNC, their in-state neighbor, Florida State and Clemson.
So basically the three biggest universities are still looking at that going, why do we keep adding all this junk?
Man, all this conference alignment to me is, not that it's boring talk, I just feel like it's all just a money grab universe.
It's all about money.
It has nothing to do with what we all enjoy, which is the actual game of college football.
I'm just picturing a bunch of old guys like diving in money like Scrooge McDuck.
So, hey, you know what?
I'm a Syracuse guy.
I went there when it was the Big East
and that was ACC
I feel like we're all going to look back and be like
remember when my school was in that conference
and then we moved to that conference
and then we moved to that conference
so thank you Ryan
and younger people all care
that's the news
and thanks for stopping by
the herd lie news
all right well listen coming up
we're going to talk to Aaron Rogers
he has described
being in New York jet
as a dream
it's like waking up
in a dream it's amazing
I mean is it that good in New York
And I want people to think about this.
If they actually win, win a Super Bowl,
what does that do for his legacy?
I mean, that's a big what-if.
Well, think about it.
But think about that.
And how long does this Aaron Rogers dream last
until something goes wrong?
All that next.
Kavino and Rich, in for Colin on the herd.
It's Fox Sports Radio.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jek.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you all know.
I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Gooden Morgan.
Welcome back.
C&R show in for Colin on the herd.
Yeah, Hara de los Vatos Locos forever.
Shouting out all the Vatos Locos Rich while I can.
I'm Steve Coveino.
Steve El Omriamese Wapo, Kavino.
That is Rich Davis.
Good morning.
All right.
Holiday weekend.
Let's go.
Kids, going back to school.
I know.
So much to be excited about.
You got us instead of Colin.
I mean, the first.
The feedback might disagree a little bit.
I know, I know.
I've been giving lots of thumbs up to a lot of negative feedback.
I love it, Colin.
Yeah, but you know what?
You're nobody if they ain't hating on you, right?
Danny G.
So bring it.
It's all good.
At Covino Enrich.
And thank you for the people that do like the show.
We appreciate you very much.
We do it every day, in fact, on Fox Sports Radio from 2 to 4 on the West.
Again, that's 5 to 7 on the east.
You know.
You're like your parents.
You don't know how to translate three hours.
I was just going to say that.
We've been living out here on the West Coast.
Again, out from Union, New Jersey,
which is from Franklin Square.
We worked in New York forever.
So our parents, our family's still back east.
And no matter how long you're away or on the West Coast or whatever,
seems like people on the East Coast never know the time.
My dad, what time is it over there?
He'll try to guess.
He'll try to guess.
And he's always wrong.
Hey, was it at 5 o'clock?
It's always a three-hour difference.
That never changes.
And it seems like every adult.
You know why, though?
Because they didn't travel as much as us.
That's the only excuse I can make.
Because when I talked to my uncle, too, he's like, yeah, what time is it there?
And I'm like, always three hours earlier.
It's always a three-hour difference.
But wherever you are, thanks for hanging out with us.
Again, Kavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio and the number, Rich.
This is important because I do want people to chime in and interact not only on social media.
It's easy to be a keyboard warrior.
and talk smack on X and on social media.
And feel free to do so.
Everyone's entitled to their wrong opinions.
At Covino and Rich, but the number's 818-907-0062.
We'd love to chop it up with you.
Say what's up.
818-907-0062.
Drake Kay hit us up on Twitter at Covino and Rich.
In regards to the Kelly Stafford.
Can you play the apology?
It's not even apology.
Her feedback.
I do feel bad.
You know, people make mistakes.
I spoke on a topic that I think it's relatable to the fact that it's hard to relate to someone who is 10 years younger.
And that's what was written actually about it. It was a very relatable thing. And I do think that's entirely true. But I'm not in an NFL locker. I'm not spending every day with these teammates. Obviously there's relationships. He spends more time with them than he does with me during the season. That was tough. I say all the time, even on my podcast,
probably not the best if your wife's names in the media when it comes to if it's talking about sports.
And I failed pretty bad last week.
But we're going to move forward.
You know, hopefully those guys, and I know those guys know Matthew, and don't read into it because, as we know, media can stir things up.
But I put my foot in my mouth pretty good.
And that's what the media is doing, stirring up a pretty innocent.
Yeah, my husband's older than the other guys.
But her husband's not Bart from the office.
Her husband's a high-profile quarterback where media is looking to pounce on any sort of disconnect in the locker room.
Well, Dre hit us up saying, young boys, you're missing the whole point here.
Matthew Stafford should have never told her or told her, do not repeat this.
Yes, agreed with that.
Agreed.
Hey, and it should be understood by now.
But she made a mistake.
That's it.
It's a super harmless.
She made a mistake.
What are you going to do?
It is what it is.
She apologized, but it's still a mistake.
Also want to say what's up to Tony, driving around in L.A., listening to 570.
Nice to be on here in L.A.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
Well, hey, Aaron Rogers.
Aaron Rogers.
What I love about...
The new Aaron Rogers, by the way.
The new Aaron Rogers.
So far, so likable.
A year and a half ago, everyone's like, he lied about the vaccine.
Watt, wah, wah, wah.
Weirdo.
Weirdo.
Weirdo.
Ayahuasca. Darkness retreats.
Where is he going to do?
What is he going?
he's like the perfect New Yorker.
So far.
Sitting courtside at the Knicks games, Rangers games.
Teammates love him.
Hard knocks is pretty much like one big pro-Aaron Rogers documentary.
To quote Aaron Rogers via the athletics, Zach Rosenblatt.
He told a friend, Aaron Rogers told a friend,
he feels like he's waking up inside a dream.
This whole experience with the Jets is a quote, beautiful.
dream.
So I ask you this.
How long does this dream last?
And what are your real expectations of Aaron Rogers this year?
We'll get your phone calls and feedback next.
CNR.
In for Colin.
