went and saw David Spade last night. Kyle Dunnigan before him as well. A couple, do three different comics. All very, very, very funny. Spade's the best. Spade's the nicest guy. Absolutely great. Went backstage to see him.

See him about once a year. So much fun. You were invited. You stiff-armed me. You went jogging with buddies or something. Jogging. Whatever you did. Some soccer to play against the young guys.

We crushed them. The old guys. Yeah, it was good, good workout. I crushed a bourbon and a chick-fil-in-the-way on the way home. That's what I crushed a comedy. Next time I will take you up on that, 100%. My wife. I've got on my case about not going with you. She's like, what are you doing?

Trying to get hurt? And I was like, no. I'm not. You may listen to your wife and me. Let's start with this. In my life, a lot of different times in my life, I've moved cross country for jobs. I've been very fortunate. And, you know, you get out the yellow notepad, the pros, the cons. The two things I always try to avoid. Crazy people and drama. I think I'm a talented guy. I work hard. I've got a formula. I think I have habits that tend to work successful habits, right? But you can't overcome crazy and you can't overcome constant drama. So I always try to avoid both. So now Sean Payton's name, he's going to get one of these jobs, right? I mean, we'd love to have him stay at Fox.

He's been one of my favorite guests of all time, but the guy's super smart and super talented. So there's a story today, the Arizona Cardinals. Get permission to speak to Sean Peyton. Yeah, pass. Houston Texans. Get permission to talk to Sean Peyton. a Russell Wilson and Broncos, get permission to talk to Sean Payton,

probably a pass unless they offer him $28 million a year, and that's possible. Let me talk about this, though. When you're talented, Sean Payton's talented, got a lot of options. And everybody thinks when you put down that yellow pad, pros, cons, you're looking for the pros.

You're not really. There's a reason they have so many books out there, called the five successful habits of successful people, the five great traits, the five great formulas of successful, successful people. They've got all those books out there, right? Successful people. It's not just brain power. It's habits. It's formulas. There are formulas that make you successful. Sean's going to be successful. But what could derail him is crazy and drama. That's what smart people worry about. You can't overcome crazy. Crazy billionaire owner, dramatic quarterback. So you look at these teams, Arizona, you got nothing but drama with Kyler Murray.

The owner, he's fine, Michael Bidwell, it's fine. I think he's fine. Don't know who your GM is, but your star receiver DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly leaving. Is he tired of the drama? Tyler Murray is nonstop drama. Does the owner like the quarterback there's drama? Out. Houston Texans. They just fired another coach after a year. The owner's crazy. I can't take that job. Yeah, you don't have a quarterback, but you could find one.

Yeah, the GM's not your GM, but you could muscle your way to your own GM. But you got drama in Arizona, and you got crazy with the Houston Texans. Denver, you don't know what you have in the owners, and frankly, you don't know what you have with Russell Wilson. Right now in Denver, I'm not. sure you have crazy or drama, but there are some things there. I'm not sure you can solve. The GM now has no power. They've taken that away from him. The two jobs that seem so obvious to me, one, the New Orleans Saints. There's no drama and there's no crazy. He loves the owner. He loves

the GM. He loves the roster. They just don't have a quarterback. Again, Garapolo, Carr, Brady, draft him. It's not impossible to get a quarterback. It's hard. Ask the Denver Broncos post-Elway. Ask the Dolphins post-Marino. But it's not impossible. I mean, the Packers went from far to Aaron Rogers. The Colts went from Peyton Manning to luck.

You can do it. They bounced around with a bunch of guys that aren't the guy. Just go find the guy. Whoever it is, pay him. I mean, good God. Pete Carroll got Gino Smith to have the highest completion rating in the NFL. They're in the playoffs. And the division, super weak with Brady leaving.

Winnable division. If you get the right quarterback. Hell, you could miss on the first. the quarterback and still, Sean Payton smart enough, he'd get you in the playoffs. And the other one, to me, it's so obvious is the Rams. The owner, aggressive, the GM aggressive. If McVeigh leaves, Matt Stafford is Southern. Matt Stafford's a Texan.

Drew Bree's got a, Sean Payton got a house in Texas. Sean always feels like to me, he loves L.A. Should be noted, he loves L.A. and would coach here, but he's got ties to the South and New Orleans and Texas. Stafford's a no BS guy. bottom line guy, family football guy, no BS. So when you have, when you go to a bookstore or you go to Amazon and you see these books, the five successful or five habits of successful people, the five traits of successful people,

the five formulas of successful people, Sean Payton's got all that stuff. He can't overcome crazy. Houston out. He can't overcome drama. Arizona out. Those are out. I'm not sure Denver's got crazier drama, but there's just question marks everywhere in the organization. There's not with the Rams, and there's really not with the Saints.

You may have one issue to solve. Rams, get that old line fixed. Saints, find a quarterback. Sean Payton's pretty good at finding quarterbacks. All right. So I don't really understand why, but many of you do not like Derek Carr. Well, there's a story today. the Raiders now have begun the process of taking calls and looking at the board to trade Derek Carr.

So Derek Carr has a no trade clause. He will get, like Russell Wilson had in Seattle, he gets a no vote. I'm not going there. So people are speculating that the Jets are a very, very good fit. But they fired their offensive coordinator yesterday. I did not think that was a great move. I think another team in that division is literally a perfect place for Derek Carr, and that is Miami. So the Jets, a defensive head coach that has to win next year, he's gone.

They just fired their offensive coordinator, meaning all those young jet players in their second year have to learn a new offense. The Jets ownership, always shaky, and the roster is the third. best offensive roster in the division. It's not close to Miami or Buffalo. But the Miami Dolphins is literally perfect. You get the left tackle. He's great for protection. The two fastest wide receivers arguably in the league.

A top tied end in Mike Gassicki. You have a coach in Mike McDaniels. Let's be honest. It's the Niners system. Tua was leading in Pro Bowl votes with it. Brock Purdy is rolling. bowling in this thing. Brock Purdy and Tua in this system are pro bowlers, pro bowl level quarterback. What do you think Derek Carr sees? Derek Carr's like, Tua, Brock Pertie? What's

Derek Carr going to do with this? So I know everybody's fallen in love with the fit, but the game changer here is it's Derek Carr's call. It's his call. And because, because, of that, the Raiders won't get as much in return as they want. Denver didn't. Right, right? Like Seattle got some stuff, but a lot of people felt Seattle, you know, franchise quarterbacks, what do they get? Ask yourself this. If Derek Carr says, I want to go to Miami. And he tells the Raiders, that's my place. And that's where I would go. Miami maybe doesn't have to give up as much. We'll see how that works out. Never quite sure about it. how that works out. But I know this. For all the people, some of these quarterbacks, not many,

have no trade clauses. Very few. It's remarkable. Some guys take the money. Some guys will say less money. I want power. Derek Carr got the no trade clause and that's going to be good for him. And I think Miami's perfect. Good God. Brock Purdy and Tua and Jimmy Garapolo have sliced up this offense. I mean, let's not forget how good Tua was in September and October. I mean, brand new system. First game, first week. He was dropping dimes all over the field. So it's not a difficult system, apparently, to consume and regurgitate. I mean, Tua figured it out in one week. Brock Pretty was great first half. So this is not a system. It's quarterback elevating, but not quarterback centric. It makes the quarterback comfortable.

So did not love the Jets firing their OC. Didn't love that. Didn't love that. That's not very attractive. If I'm Derek Carr, I'm like, oh, boy. Giving this guy one quick year, a year and a half, how many years that guy? Two years moving on? You're blaming him for Zach Wilson?

I don't know. If I'm Derek Carr, I'm watching Zach Wilson, I'm thinking you're blaming the offensive coordinator for Zach Wilson? Maybe that's a GM owner fault. Maybe it's not the coordinator's fault. Coordinator can only do so much with what he's got. I don't know. What it looked like to me?

None of the Bull. So the Arizona Cardinals plan to now trade D'Andre Hopkins. So the GM fired out. Head coach fired out. Star Receiver leaving. If I was Michael Bidwell, this is probably he's the owner, what I would do. Figure out somebody that can get along with Tyler Murray.

I think it's what I do. We talked about this yesterday. It's not ideal, but it's what I do. There are certain things you have to do in certain industries. In college football, college basketball, if you want to be a top 15 program, coaching is important, so as being a salesman. Yeah, got to suck up to 17 and 18-year-olds. Kind of gross.

Pander, placate, over-the-top, total love. Overlook flaws, immaturity. You have to be a salesman. I know, you didn't want to be. Nick Sabin's like a great coach. But what really makes him a great coach is he's a great salesman. Really? That's it.

Sometimes Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, Jim Harbaugh, going door to door. Want to buy this? Want to buy that? Michigan football. Come on in. The bad news about the NFL becoming so quarterback-centric. You can't hit them. they make 50 million, they gobble up your cap space, even B-level quarterbacks like

Beck Prescott, Kirk Cousins, got to pay them. Big money. Rules all help the quarterback now. You are beholden, and this is not something you ever want to be in any business, you're beholden to one employee. Even Belichick Brady. It's a 70-30 split. Brady's more important. But for the safety of the league and the viability of the sport long term, they don't want you hitting the quarterback. And every year, there's seemingly another ruler regulation to limit how much a quarterback can get touched. Forget hit, just touched. Now, the good news is the five or six top quarterbacks in this league are adults and they're committed.

Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hertz, Herbert, Josh Allen. They are great employees. They are all in in the season, all in in the off season. They're great in the community. They're great in the room. They are awesome. You are beholden to them. Lots of people get fired if they leave.

Yeah, Josh Allen leaves. Shaw McDermick doesn't survive very long. Joe Burrow leaves, gets hurt. Zach Taylor doesn't survive very long. You are beholden to one employee. That's generally not a great business structure. And what happens, though, is also some of the great quarterbacks, two specifically, Aaron Rogers and Kyler Murray. Yes, it's the same. A lot of ego, a lot of drama,

kind of committed. Kyler Murray's on those video games reportedly. He's not all in during the week. Aaron Rogers, Iowaska rehab trips. He's not available in the off season. I know you don't think it's the same. It is. Too much drama, not enough commitment. A lot of ego, sort of needy. I mean, Devante Adams left Green Bay. Why? He just didn't know if Aaron's going to stick around. Sort of a loss. Do you watch him this year?

Kind of missed him. By the way, DeAndre Hopkins wants out. Larry Fitzgerald retired. Aaron and Kyler, maybe different players. It's a lot of the same stuff. So this, Tennessee, by the way, great coach, great defense, great run game, irrelevant. Don't have a quarterback. Jacksonville has all sorts of issues.

Got the quarterback. Got the quarterback. So the downside to this league, which is on fire. I got some data a couple of days ago on the ratings and the metrics for the NFL. Like the NFL, you can't even compare it now to any other sport in America. It is so much more popular. We watch it, we bet it, we talk about it, fantasy sports. It's not even close.

It's like there's the NFL. Then let's compartmentalize the other sports against each other. But this is the downside. is that overwhelmingly the young quarterbacks jalen herds mahomes alan herbert burrow they're great i mean they're literally if you have to depend on one guy it's becoming a little bit like international soccer europe's biggest sport right international soccer where the goal score the runy the messy the rinaldo you're beholden to him i mean the coach is basically at the discretion the disposal of the whims of that game that tournament

The whims of the superstar. If the superstar doesn't like the coach, you have to get a new coach. And that's where we are. Arizona, GM, gone, coach, gone. Star receiver, gone. But in certain industries, there's certain things you've got to do.

And in college sports, got to be a salesman. And in the NFL, got to take care of your star quarterback. The planet's got like 10 of them. Maybe five. J-Mac with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. I'm torn. You're almost convincing me that Kyler Murray can work in Arizona. Just remember, he and Cliff Kingsbury shared the same agent. The agent could not get them to get along. Cliff was basically like, I'm done with this.

Kyler Murray did work in Arizona. He got him to the playoffs. In that division, with Shanahan, Pete Carroll, Sean McVeigh. So it's not that Kyler Murray could work. Kyler Murray has worked in Arizona. One season. He has as many playoff wins as...

Derek Carr. Okay. I'm just saying he got better every year. I'm a fan. But we all defend Aaron Rogers. We all crush Kyler Murray. It's the same thing, dog. Kider runs Cliff out of town.

Aaron ran McCarthy out of town. McCarthy's now in the playoffs. Watch Kyler Murray. Watch Cliff Kingsbury get a great job somewhere in college and be unbelievable at Oklahoma someplace. Or or he goes. and becomes a great coordinator for Belichick and crushes. That was Alabama, maybe, Belichick. I'm just saying there's a lot of Aaron and a lot of Kyler.

Why does one guy get crushed, the other doesn't? Bottom line is they're both so talented. You've got to fire a coach. You've got to get rid of a GM. You've got to get rid of a receiver. By the way, Larry Fitzgerald, get me out of here. Devonte Adams and Green Bay, get me out of here. I mean, Kyler's got no friends in the locker room other than one or two guys.

Aaron Rogers, David Bakhtiari loves him. A lot of guys haven't. Quarterbacks are a little weird guys, huh? Sometimes they're weird. Well, we're lucky. Most are amazing. Mahomes, Alan Herbert. They're all great kids. But when you make one employee that big, it's... Do you think the owner regrets paying Kyler Marie all that money last year? It is only gone downhill for everyone in the organization since they gave that money. Would you rather not have him, have Kingsbury, your GM, and a lousy quarterback talent?

Would you ever have that? You had him for another year, right, on the deal before you had to pay him? Let me ask you. Yeah. If the Jets... No, I do not want him on the Jets. Okay, if the Jets had a super talented quarterback now. But you didn't like the coach and you didn't like the GM.

Would they be better now than a coach you like and a GM you like and lost a quarterback? Well, we're desperate for a quarterback. We have been for 30 years. Okay. I don't think teams are ever desperate for a coach. You've never heard, boy, this team is... You can always find a coach. Definitely.

You can always find a GM. Miami and Denver, Marino and Elway leave, combined 40 years trying to find a quarterback. Tough. It's hard. So when you get one of these gold bars, one of these gems, you just make it work. Aaron Rogers drives Green Bay crazy,

but he's Aaron Rogers. There's one on the planet. You just make it work. 100%. Speaking of making it work, Joe Burroughs making it work with a mediocre coach in Zach Taylor. I don't know. Is he good?

Burroughs always confident when he steps on the field. It's something he's become known for, even if something it crosses the line. into arrogance. I don't think we're in that camp. But Burrow defended his attitude towards his talent when he was asked about it yesterday. That's why you prepare and that's why you practice all week and that's, I think you have to have that mindset as a quarterback in this league if you want to be really successful. You know, you can't go out there scared in the moment. You have to be a little arrogant to go out there in that moment and make the plays you need to make

And so that's really something I've thought a lot about and something that I try to do. Well, when you're really prepared, it doesn't matter if it's a basketball player, a football player, baseball. When you've done the work, I don't even think it's arrogant. I think you believe you're going to succeed. I think what you can't have is the opposite of what he said.

You can't have self-doubt. I mean, I've seen this when A-Rod got in his head and Joe Torrey dropped him, what, like to eighth in the batting order against Detroit, Or like when LeBron, this is, remember that series against Dallas? When LeBron got into his head and couldn't post up J.J. Berea? That's the only blemish on LeBron's incredible crew. He literally got into his head.

So I remember reading a story. I saw it. I was in Tampa one time having dinner on Dale Mabry. I think the Kennedy or Dale Mabry, it was a steakhouse. And Derek Jeter walked in with about eight guys. And there is crew. And I remember reading about kind of the guys he hangs out with. And he's like, he goes like, I like, I like,

optimistic guys. I'm not looking for cynical, snarky guys. Got no media buddies in that room. It's all guys that make him feel good. He's like, when you get into a slump, you can't overthink a slump. Go out and hit a baseball hard. If you have any self-doubt, as great as A-Rod was, listen, we've seen in baseball especially some of the greatest hitters of all time go into awful playoff slums. It's in there. We've seen, by the way, Greg Norman, David Duval was on fire. Then he wasn't. Ian Baker Finch, I think, was another golfer. that just disappeared. The game gets in your head.

So I don't know if it's arrogance, but you have to prep like hell, and then you just believe it's going to work. Self-doubt is the killer on all these. It reminds me of college. Like, we would sit around playing video games, you know, whatever. We would kind of make fun of each other. You and your buddies hanging out. Dude, that shirt is so tired, you know, blah, blah, blah.

You make fun of each other. A new guy transfers in, starts hanging out with us. And it's like, you guys are way too negative. You got to get positive. Like, your hair's money. All the girls want you. You made your last two jumpers. Like, super positive.

when we started being positive towards each other. You want to be around positive dudes. Yes. And so, yeah, self-doubt is a bad, because everything in sports is live. It's not like you write a column as a columnist. You get a copy editor. Sports, you get one shot to hit the free throw. So you have to have the right mind.

You can be in a bad mood and write a great column. If you're in a crappy mood, you're not going to hit the free throw. Positivity. Got to stay positive, folks. Speaking of positive, New York Giants, back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016, Daniel Jones, first trip to the postseason in his young career. I know you're big on Daniel Jones, Cowher. He says he has bigger goals this season than just reaching the playoffs.

We're definitely not satisfied just to have made the playoffs. You know, that's not how we see it as a group. We were confident in our team dating back to training camp and knew what we were able to accomplish. So, yeah, we're by no means satisfied just to be in the playoffs. We expect to play well and to win. and that's our expectation every week that doesn't change. Really excited to watch his performance. I'm really interested because I do think I went last night over this game

because I told you the minute I saw the line I love the Giants. And then everybody went on the Giants side. And yesterday you put some doubt in my head about this game. And I went and looked at analytics. They favor the Vikings across the board. They do. All the numbers favor the Vikings. So am I buying into just the matchup is interesting.

The Giants can run the ball and the Vikings run defense. It is awful. It is, I don't know where it ranks in the league. It's near the bottom. But I've seen it in games where it's just can't tackle. Don't have the size. So part of me just, am I falling? Is it confirmation bias?

Because my initial reaction is, giants, I like the matchup. When you look at the numbers, they favor the Vikings. In fact, you can make an argument. They should be a four-point favorite. I got to ask you, is this one of these humongous moments in the career of Daniel Jones? If he's good and wins this game, we know the Giants are bringing him back. If he's awful against a bad defense, you know, not nine of 23 and they lose, 2310, Daniel Jones ain't the guy.

This is one of those big pivotal moments, what are they called, sliding doors moments, where his career can go one way or the other, Colin. I don't think it's automatic that he's getting back with the Giants. You and I disagree. I think the Mara family is tired. of the organizational chaos. They don't like how the percent. They don't want to be the jets.

They do not want to be the jets. That's fair. A little blow, but a fair blow. They don't want to be the jets. They view themselves as the blue blood of the city's football history. You know, it's the same way. Lakers look down at the clippers.

The Yankees sneer at the Mets. Fair or not, that's the reality of it. So the giants do not, they look at themselves as organizationally strong, historically relevant, traditional laden. They don't want to just be banging around and moving around. So I think they've made a decision upstairs.

They've told Brian Dable, we're not getting rid of you. I think Dable getting into the playoffs secures two more years in the contract for Brian. Oh, Dable's a lot. Nobody's not going anywhere. It's more about Daniel Jones. So I think they're saying the owner saying, let's make it work.

And also these owners, remember Mara, he saw the Eli Manning, the slow train on Eli Manning took a while. The problem is there's so many potentially good quarterbacks out there. Brady, maybe Aaron Rogers, Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo. Those aren't great quarterbacks. What's Daniel Jones, Colin? Okay, but I'm saying if Daniel's a B minus to a C plus, B, okay. Well, I'm just saying this year, 3,000 yards, 700 yards rushing, that's at least a B minus. I would put him at a C plus. Let's say that. Okay. If I can get an A, I would do it.

But Carr's not viewed by a rest of America's A. I like Derek Carr, and I think he's a very strong B plus quarterback, slightly ahead of DAC. I don't view Garoppolo as an A. Now, it's not a leap into A, but is it a leap from C plus to B to B plus with that defense? The problem is there's not a lot of examples of guys being average, below average,

and then all of a sudden making a quantum leap into very, very good. Geno Smith. One season, he hasn't want to playoff game. I'm just saying. Oh, my gosh. If Daniel, Judge, an argument here, do you believe it's fair to say that if you got Daniel, Jones in the first three picks, a really good tight end. There's about four great ones. The kid from Notre Dame is awesome. He's great. And by the way, the Giants, about the 20,

where are the Giants picking right now? I don't know, 21 something. You get the Notre Dame tied end with the first pick. DeAndre Hopkins, would you try to trade for him? I'm just saying, is it a reasonable opinion for me to say if you got, Daniel's got to a point where this is kind of what he is, do you think it's possible he could take another half grade leap with a star tied in and a star receiver? And I think the answer is yes. So is this a, a gift? So is this a Give him a new contract or let's try for a franchise tag. Franchise tag. Okay.

I'm starting to work on that one. All right. Final story. Jalen Hertz. I love these quarterback discussions. They're fun. Jalen Hertz is back from his shoulder injury in week 18, but was in a lot of pain during the game. That win over the Giants secured the one seed.

They get the buy. Nick Siriani said the team is fortunate to have that buy week so Hertz can get healthier for their first playoff game next weekend. Colin, it's looking like if the Giants win, it'll be Giants' Eagles. Eagles part three. Giants are not currently constructed to win two playoff games. No, they're not. There's no way they're going to Minnesota and to Philadelphia. I'll just say you mentioned the defensive line is awesome.

If Lane Johnson doesn't play, I think the Eagles are in deep. He is that good. Remember, they're missing, the Eagles are missing the defensive linemen. And they're missing the slot cornerback of Ante Maddox. Speaking of linemen, I don't want to switch topics too much with the Bengals. You look at that offensive line. It's looking like Kappa probably not going to play. offensive linemen are massive.

You talk about it all the time in the trenches. Eagles, you better get healthy. I don't know. Getting worried about the Eagles. Niners in the NFC? Well, they're not playing this week. They are not. All right.

The second thing is a commitment by the franchise and the GM to fix the interior O line. Evan Neal Thomas appear to be good. Evan Neal's been a little overwhelmed at times, but they got their tackles. They get another year, another offseason, get the O line interior fixed and get him some legitimate targets. I think Daniel moves up from like, I see him as like a C plus guy. Can you get him to a B on a good Sunday at B plus guy. I think it's reasonable. Not a guy I'd want to build around, but the franchise tag was created for reasons like that and players like that.

Jefferson and Devante Adams, Travis Kelsey, Trent Williams, the Cleveland Browns left guard, Joe Betonio, Jason Kelsey, Zach Martin Lane Johnson. That is my Pro Bowl team. Now, there's some pushback on Devante Adams over Tyreek Hill. You can't just do it on stats or I can vote for it. You've got to have context. So think about the disadvantages Devante Adams had to overcome. His star tied end was hurt half the season, Darren Waller. His star slot receiver, Hunter Renfro, missed seven games, I think.

That meant more double coverage, more double coverage on Devante Adams. Also, Mike McDaniels system with Tyreek Hill, it makes Brock Pretty and Tua look like Hall of Famers. It works for everybody. it makes stars out of six or seventh round pick Jennings for the Niners, that wide receiver. Wasn't he like a six round pick? It makes everybody a star. Josh McDaniel's offense that Devante Adams is in, it's only ever worked with one guy, Tom Brady.

That's it. So context. Devante Adams didn't have a slot receiver, didn't have a star receiver. Had a coach who's an offensive coach, but Mike McDaniel's system is Kyle Shanahan's system. average quarterbacks flourish. Good receivers look like great receivers. Let's go to the defense. I think once again, the players nailed it.

Nick Bosa, he's going to be the defensive player of the year. Miles Garrett, I think he's the best, biggest, strongest pass rusher and football outside of Nick Bosa. Chris Jones, Aaron Donald, Dexter Lawrence is just a great nose. Warner and Roquan Smith are tackle machines. Warner speed sideline to sideline. is insane. Patrick Certain, Darius sleigh, Minka, Derwin, James is literally the best athlete offensive defense on the Chargers. Now, you can say, well, what about Micah Parsons?

Hmm, let's go, um, let's go look post- Thanksgiving. Both Bosa and Miles Garrett are significantly bigger and stronger than Micah. 275 pounds is what Miles Garrett is. Bosa, Garrett were much better post- Thanksgiving. Why? Because Micah's smaller, wears down. The season now they've added a game. Micah's spectacular. But as post- Thanksgiving numbers, he's a little smaller athlete dealing with those 325-pound left tackles and right tackles. Micah was not as good at the end of the year. So first of all, he's not supplanting Bosa. Bosa's the defensive player of the year. Unblockable. Miles Garrett, I think he missed a game, but Miles Garrett's 275 pounds, and again, is in a division with Pittsburgh felt like a playoff team. Baltimore is a playoff team. Cincinnati is a playoff team, but the problem

is Micah's on the Cowboys, and they get all this free publicity, and Miles Garrett was on the Browns, and we stopped talking about him after about a week four, so nobody paid attention. But if you told me today I get Micah Parsons or I get Miles Garrett, I'm taking Miles Garrett. If you tell me it's Bosa or Micah, I'm taking Bosa. And by the way, I would argue, T.J. Watt would be my next choice. And then Micah. And so you can just make this all about stats. But then I could vote on it.

Players know the truth. They know when you take the speed at a Tyreek Hill. Devante Adams runs better routes, makes far more contested catches. When he gets hard to double. Hard to double Tyreek Hill. Got Jalen Waddle over there. Very hard to double. You can double Devante Adams for half the games this year.

Waller's out, Renfro's out. And I like Josh McDaniels. Let's be honest. Wasn't Devante critical of the offense earlier in the year saying, just because somebody's on me, you still got to throw the ball to me? So I would take Devante Adams absolutely over Tyreek Hill. Tyreeks got better stats. But that's San Francisco and Miami offense is looking,

it's making two and pretty look like Joe Montana here. So you've got to add context to this thing. Okay, I've got to quibble with Aaron Donald. Only played 11 games, had the worst season of his career, and not to be a homer. But Quinn and Williams was utterly dominant and unblockable on the Jets this year. They had a top five defense all year, mostly because of Quinn and Williams. And the other guy that's missing there, and they're not going to give him love, is Sauce Gardner, who's the defensive rookie of the year, was, I think, number one, all season, according to pro football focus.

And we're going to try. We watched Sir Tan get cooked by Devante Adams earlier. Remember that overtime touchdown? I mean, he just destroyed him. Well, time out. Devante Adams is great. He's, in my opinion, he's the best receiver in the league. Most people think it's Justin Jefferson.

I think Devonte, the routes, the contested catches. I think he's unbelievable. Go see what sauce gardener did against Justin Jefferson. So you're not going to get players to not put Aaron Donald in. Yes. Okay. So when Aaron Donald's ready to play, he's the best. defensive player in 15 years. So you're not going to get players off that. And when the games he was

available, he's unblockable. Okay. You can make an argue for Soss Gardner. But if you're trying to argue me off Darius Slay. No, I didn't say Sle. I said Sertan. And Sertan is awesome. Okay. I went to the Chargers Broncos game, you know, great seats. And I watched Sertan totally took away half the field. He's very good. Sauce Gardner has better numbers this year. Okay. Just say. Just say it. But it's not stats. Yes. It's not stats. Like I always say, with the herd hierarchy. Yes. Not standings.

I think the Pittsburgh Steelers, I took the Vikings at 10, I chose the Steelers and was talked out of it. I regret it deeply is I think Pittsburgh at home would beat Minnesota. I just, I think it in Minnesota, Minnesota wins neutral to coin flip. It was talked out of it. Detroit could have gone ahead of Minnesota. You know what? That's what I should have done.

There's probably a bunch of teams right there who are like, I don't want to see the lions in the playoffs. Nobody's afraid of the Vikings. I didn't have the courage. Shame on me. You should out the guy who talked you off that. Do I know him on the staff? No, I'm not going to get into it.

Okay, fair enough. Okay. But just put it up there one more time. Just the offense and the defense. I got no problem. I think the offense, I love it. The other thing is, Nolan Ryan won, what, 55% of his games.

He had the best fastball. But the reason Nolan Ryan's not as good as Kershaw or a Sandy Kofax is that he didn't have his second and third. pitch wasn't as great. The layers to Devante Adams contested catches, work ethic, route running, toughness, physicality. If you take speed at a Tyreek Hill, he's a small guy that he kind of, you know, not that he, not that he doesn't, Devante Adams doesn't have yards after the catch too, because they both do. They're both great. But Tyreek Hill, to me, is not as layered. He's the

world's fastest football player, and that deserves a lot. But if you took his speed out, I'm less with less of a player significantly. Devante Adams is fast, but he's not, I don't think he's classified as a burner. He's, but he can run, obviously. But he's so good at so much. He's such a tactician. You're never going to talk me off of Devante Adams.

How about a shout out to the Kelsey family? Jason Kelsey and Travis Kelsey, best at their position in the league? Have you ever heard their podcast? I have not. Oh, my God. It's good? Jason Kelsey.
