Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. The story I've told myself can then
shape my behavior and that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, tune into the podcast Deeply Well with Debbie Brown if you've
been searching for a soft place to land while doing the work to become whole. This podcast is for you
to hear more. Listen to deeply well with Debbie Brown from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was hungry.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis'clock, he's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHart Podcasts presents Soccer moms.
So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of being?
Oh, they hit a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be?
I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sex.
Wait, what sex?
Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes?
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter.
Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Oh, we got a Monday show.
We got a Monday show.
We're live.
In Chicago, it's the herd.
Wherever you may be.
However you may be listening, whatever the platform is, Sean McFeyer-Rams,
Lincoln, Riley of the Trojan stops by.
They got a big one with Oregon.
Colin Wright, Colin Wrong one hour from now.
J-Mack.
You have been down on Kansas City all year, and it appears you were right.
You know.
This is, to be the best, you've got to beat the best.
You may have to scrap the where Colin was wrong segment.
What are you going to mention the Blazing Five, big guy?
Well, we'll get to that.
We'll get to that later.
So let's start with this.
That was the kind of game that we have been watching for the last five years, Denver and Kansas City,
and you had this sinking feeling Kansas City would have figured out.
Andy Reid was off a buy.
They got a couple trick plays.
They'll figure it out.
But it was actually Denver that I felt would win the game.
And Denver manipulated Kansas City in that final drive.
Kansas City is now lost to the Jags, the Eagles, the Bills, Denver, the Chargers.
All playoff teams today.
O and five against playoff teams.
And there are wins.
Raiders, commanders, giants, and whatever the lions are these days.
Listen, some of this is you pay a quarterback.
big money, you have a limited roster.
I mean, Sam Darnold, team-friendly deal, Seattle's young, look at that roster.
Hikes, the track team.
Seven of the top eight cap hits in the NFL right now at quarterback, 500 or worse.
And the chiefs have been going to done a really good job to kind of manipulate it so Mahomes
isn't a huge cap hit.
But Travis Kelsey, he's on his last legs.
Chris Jones is like the 62nd ranked defensive lineman.
Everybody at the top of that salary chart there doesn't feel the same.
Mahomes doesn't feel the same.
So Denver's offensive line, clearly better.
Denver's run game, better.
Denver's pass rush, not close, better.
Denver's secondary, pretty good.
Denver's wide receiver group.
I think it's underrated.
I like their wide receivers.
It can be Franklin now.
and Bo Nix connect. Mims, Cortland Sutton, the young kid out of Illinois.
Like, they got dudes. I watched that game and you watch that game.
It felt like to me, when Denver got the ball at the end, they, they, with Bo Nix on that
rookie deal and all that length of wide receiver and that dominant offensive line and
that pass rush, they had more options. And we all saw it coming.
I didn't think it was a controversial take when I said the dynasty's over for Kansas City.
I said that in August, and I said,
Broncos are going to win the division.
You watched it last night.
I watched it.
Denver has better units, better groups.
I mean, Mahomes is going to be better than Bo Nex,
but I don't know.
They were in 11-1 score games last year.
What does that mean?
The margins are getting thin.
They just won all of them.
This year, they're losing all of them.
But, I mean, Sean Payton, the way he talked.
Bo Nix the way he played, the pass rush.
It wasn't disrespectful to Canada.
Kansas City, but I didn't see any fear.
I think Denver, I think Sean Payton, I think Bo Nix,
I think Denver knows they have more good players than Kansas City.
I think they know they have a better pass rush.
They have the best corner.
They have deeper wide receivers.
They have the better offensive line.
And I think Denver knows it.
I mean, Andy Reid off a buy scored 19 points with Patrick Mahomes.
Off a buy.
So I, you know, you pay the quarterback big money like in Buffalo.
I don't love the bills roster.
I think Kansas City's done a good job to manipulate the Mahomes salary,
but I'm watching Denver and you're watching Denver.
Denver's got more good players.
And Chris Jones had a sack yesterday.
Doesn't feel the same.
He's an interior defensive lineman.
Those guys age quickly.
Tight ends outside of George Kittle age quickly.
So that final drive to me felt very Mahomes-esque.
Bo Nix had pass protection.
he could use the run game.
He was running.
He was twitchy.
He was nimble.
He had options.
A lot of good wide receiver choices.
I mean, it didn't look like a fluke to me.
It looked real.
Denver and Sean Payton officially, the team to beat in the AFC West.
And yesterday, they had the Chiefs feel.
They manipulated the clock.
They controlled the outcome.
That's what Kansas City did the previous half decade.
here's Bo Nicks after.
If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best.
Some say if you're scared, go to church.
If you're going to play this sport, if you're going to play this game for too long,
you can't really be intimidated or there's really no sense in going out there.
If you don't believe you're going to win and eventually get to the top,
then I feel like you just waste so much time.
Okay, so the Chicago Bears are seven and three,
and here's what I saw yesterday.
I heard this.
Well, it's not really sustainable.
All right, let me look at something real quick with you.
They were better than the Vikings on third down.
They rushed for 140 yards.
They never turned it over, and they dominated time of possession.
That feels sustainable to me.
Well, it's ugly.
Well, Denver's winning ugly.
Philly's winning ugly.
The Jags always win ugly.
Chicago's got the second best rushing attack in the league,
fourth in total offense, top 10 in yards per play.
Those are the numbers Vegas cares about.
That feels legitimate to me.
Their number one issue is actually,
and you have this with young teams.
You saw it yesterday with Seattle.
You've seen it with Green Bay.
The problem is too many penalties.
Well, you've got a new coach, he's young.
You got a new quarterback with this coach, who's young, he's young.
They make mistakes.
But you can clean that up.
You can't create a lousy run game and turn it into a great run game by Thanksgiving.
I can take a team that has too many penalties and clean it up by Thanksgiving.
So, I mean, Chicago's won seven of eight.
It feels totally legit.
Who's winning beautifully?
Buffalo, no.
Denver, no.
I mean, I see a young coach.
I see a young quarterback.
They've got a lot of, I mean, they're great in the fourth quarter.
It feels very much like Denver to me.
Does it not young quarterback, great play caller, nice offensive weapons?
I mean, the Bears defense, they're getting Jalen Johnson back, is the cornerback,
but even without him, they take the ball away.
So look at their division for the Bears who say, people say it's not sustainable.
The Vikings are lost offensively.
Green Bay wins, but their identity is funky.
I'm not sure Matt LaFlewer wants to run, but they can't.
So they pass reluctantly, but it works.
And Detroit, again, Ben Johnson left that offense.
Detroit's offense is not the same.
They hired within the organization.
Not a fan of that.
It doesn't look good.
So, I mean, Chicago and Caleb, there's too many penalties.
They're flawed.
But I mean, here's what they do.
Tell me if this stuff is sustainable.
They run the ball as well as almost anybody in the league.
they don't turn it over, yet they take it away from you,
and they're excellent playing from behind,
which has always been a have-and-have-and-have-nots line of demarcation.
Can you play leading?
Can you play trailing?
So when you have a great run game, you can play with elite.
You can kill the clock.
The question is, great run teams often,
this was always the knock on Lamar Jackson.
Do they play well from behind?
No, Chicago does.
So I don't get the, is it sustainable?
This league smushes everybody together.
The team that always wins close games is Philadelphia.
Did you think that was art last night?
You thought that was pretty?
Philadelphia only wins ugly.
So, I mean, Ben Johnson, the other thing they do, they've eliminated the negative plays.
We talked about that all-off season.
Remember when Belichick talked about Brady?
What's the best part about Brady?
He had no negative plays with Tom.
He didn't say Tom's arm or size.
Yeah, with Tom, we had no negative
plays. It was always second and four, second three. It was never second 22. So Chicago's eliminated
the worst thing they did last year. All the negative plays. They don't do them. And I know this sounds
very remedial and simple. Here's what the bears do really well. They go forward. They move the
ball forward a lot. And that's what Belichick said about Brady. His favorite thing is, yeah,
we got rid of it quickly, we didn't take sacks, we didn't have pre-snap penalties. So
Chicago's got some things to clean up, but to me, when you say it's not sustainable,
they run it, they take it away, they don't turn it over, a durable quarterback,
great in the fourth quarter, what's not sustainable?
Here's Caleb on another W.
It doesn't matter when, it doesn't matter how, it doesn't matter, who it doesn't.
We got the guys, we got the coaches, we live in the known, and so when our moment comes,
when their moment comes, whoever it is on the team, we'll make the play.
And so, like I said, we got to get better throughout the game.
But, you know, when it comes down to it, we know we're going to make the plays at the right moment, the right time.
And we're going to, you know, we're going to, we're going to go win the game.
I watched that game yesterday, and my takeaway is Chicago deserved to win.
Chicago is better on third down.
Chicago dominated time of possession.
Chicago's quarterback is more talented.
Like Minnesota doesn't know what they are.
Had they lost that game, you'd have felt like, man, they gave one away.
Yesterday, Chicago was the better team with a better identity, the better quarterback, and right now a coach who I love this about Ben Johnson.
This is where he and Sean McVey are similar.
Everybody thinks McVeigh and Ben Johnson, oh, they're clever.
Yeah, but fundamentally they're tough guys.
They like to run the ball and dominate time of possession and play clean football.
Rams don't make a lot of mistakes.
Caleb doesn't throw a lot of picks.
that run game first thing Ben Johnson did guard center guard not sexy
guard center guard let's develop a run game
they did they have and it's sustainable
uh okay Seahawks Rams game was nuts
and McVeigh's it was it was just absolutely nuts
the fact that Seattle was coming down
to win the game on a kick
with four Sam Darnold ugly picks
three of them really ugly
is remarkable. We'll talk about that next.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd

Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
a trend. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
and then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Hey, I'm Joe Dono.
You might know me as that loud guy who yells out,
help on the internet.
Help! Somebody! Please!
But there's so much more to me than me.
I'm an actor. I'm a comedian.
And recently, I've become quite the...
the helper myself.
And on my new podcast,
Hope from a Hippocrat,
I'll be changing lives,

Sike, I'm a comedian.
I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows, without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash will get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
while he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,

Do you want a white collar or something here? Just hit it.
Oh, what are y'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would. Come on.
Could you believe? I would buy it.
Cut through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You're lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.

Sean McVeigh coming up later this hour.
what a wild, weird game.
These are such different teams, although they're both well coached,
and they're both really athletic,
and the Rams' defense is young.
Seattle's entire roster is young.
And I think the best way to put this,
I feel like the Rams are the cleaner tactician.
They're the Floyd Mayweather.
The Seahawks are Tyson.
You're swinging from the heels, okay?
But yesterday, I mean, how can Sam Darnold throw four picks and they're going for the win?
If Stafford throws four picks, they get blown out.
Why?
Stafford is older.
He's a cleaner quarterback.
He hasn't had a pick since September.
They don't have penalties.
It is a very mature offense that's well coached, very efficient.
I've been saying for weeks, it's the cleanest team in the league.
Seattle is the younger, crazier brother who's super talented.
but does stuff sometimes that's way reckless.
But Donald's ability, he's so athletic, to ad lib out of plays that fail
or play calls that aren't working that it gives Seattle a second, a third, a fourth life.
Rams take a lead.
They're great on script.
They don't have any penalties.
They don't make mistakes.
They have the greatest punt ever.
And here are the flailing Seahawks and Sam Darnold and picks.
and they just keep coming at you.
It is just a flurry and a fury of athleticism from Seattle.
They had over double the first downs.
In the second and third quarters,
Rams never had the ball.
So I've been saying this all year.
I thought it was going to be a go-either-way game,
and I thought it was 28-27.
But the older, mature, wiser, brother, the Rams,
beat the crazy, talented, reckless brother, the Seahawks.
but if they played again, I'm not sure who'd I'd like.
Seattle is a young team, and young teams can often struggle to find an identity.
The Seahawks don't.
Darnold strangely fits them perfectly.
Stafford quarterbacking the Seahawks would feel odd.
Stafford's got McVeigh and a veteran tied end, some offensive linemen that have been around,
and I kind of feel like, you know, Devante Adams, old,
wise, smart, clean, efficient, Stafford feels like the Rams and exactly what they need.
Yet Darnold, even with four picks, feels like he's a perfect fit for the young,
youthful, little more mistake-prone Seahawks.
By the way, in the Seahawks, three losses, they've had multiple giveaways,
and they're still all one-bossession losses.
So, I mean, you get into the Octagon with the Seahawks,
and they're just bringing massive athleticism,
and they're going to make mistakes, and they're going to come.
much a hundred miles an hour.
I mean, I get a Stafford through
four picks. I'm like, oh, that,
Rams would lose ugly.
Seattle throws four on the road,
gets the ball kicked down to the one-inch line
and almost wins it.
It's just, they're just,
Seattle is just so much athleticism,
and it's a wildly dynamic
team to watch.
The last team I'd want to play in the playoffs,
honest God, would be Seattle.
They're just coming.
You better be prepared.
for a fight. And Ernest Jones after the game, linebacker formerly of the Rams, now the Seahawks,
says don't be banging on Sam Darnold. I mean, Sam's been baller. Like, if we want to try to
define Sam by this game or what, man, Sam's been had us in every game. So for him to sit
there and say, oh, that's my fault. No, it's not. It was plays that defensively we could
have made plays. There were opportunities where we could have got better stops.
Yeah, I mean, like, it's football, man.
He's our quarterback.
We got his back in.
You got anything to say, quite frankly,
you.
Yeah, that is Seattle.
And again, Rams are more Mayweather.
They're a tactician.
They're calculated.
They're clean.
They're efficient.
Hard to land a punch.
Seahawks are swinging from the heels.
They're hitting the ball off the tee about $3.50 into the woods.
Thankfully, they have a good rescue club.
but it's there really are for all the similarities there were so many good athletes on the field
and a couple of times the darnal interceptions i was texting a buddy like he didn't he saw things
late i mean the rams do such a good job rams have darnell's number rams are now three and oh
this defensive coordinator's three and oh against sam and sam saw plays late he was late on
throw so um it's not it's not osmosis it's not luck it's not coincidence i mean the the rams
Rams earned all those interceptions.
But it is, as similar as they are, they're dissimilar in their flow and function.
But that's just one of the craziest games I've seen this year.
J. Mack with the News.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
From one middling quarterback in the NFC West to an elite one.
Brock Purdy, Colin.
He's back, baby.
The turf toe was not an issue for Brock Purdy.
He carved up Arizona.
Yeah.
I believe they scored on eight of 11 possessions.
Pretty was magnificent.
I mean, even the opening kickoff, they took back 90-some yards, Skymore.
I mean, they can't.
Niners came out with a massive chip on their shoulder.
They played about as well as anybody in the league yesterday, despite I was texting Robert
Sala over the weekend.
And I was congratulating.
I'm like, I don't know how you're doing it.
You have no players left.
And he just loves this team.
But if you watch that game, I mean, opening kickoff on, San Francisco was an
bad mood.
Yeah, I would say for sure
Brock Purdy made the offense look
crisper than Mac Jones. And I know
Mac Jones was good, he was fine,
but he killed. Yeah, yeah,
that's the other thing. His speed, he had
Kittle, McCaffrey, Ricky Pearsall,
there was a sighting, he had one catch.
Brandon Ayuk on deck, I'm just telling you,
keep an eye for the Niners as a sleeper.
The defense isn't there, as you said,
but they could be there just because of the offense.
Well, the other thing is, I don't know what the
numbers are. Our guys will look it up, but there
is something with Kittle and Brock Purdy.
No, yeah.
There is just, you could tell,
first of all, Brock moves the pocket.
So there's no doubt about that.
They average four more points a game with Brock than they do, Mac.
But there is something with Brock Purdy and George Kittle that feels very authentic.
And a lot of these young quarterbacks, they love their tight ends.
Well, they hang out.
Remember, they would go to Warriors games and sit courtside.
Here's another guy who hung with him, Christian McCaffrey talking about Brock Purdy's excellent game.
He was vintage Brock.
Yeah, and that's a huge compliment.
He was poised, made some great plays, made some huge third down throws,
kept us in the game, was smart the whole game.
To miss games like that is really hard and to come back in the middle of the year.
And I think people kind of just watch and like, oh, you know, he had a good game, whatever.
But to be out that long and to come in and do what he did today is extremely impressive.
Yeah, no, I thought it was.
And I know you love him, but I just thought from the sky.
more return on. Brock was in his own and he went right to his guy Kittle. I think I said this earlier.
The coaching job by Sala and Shanahan, look at all the teams in the league, Jason, that have fallen apart physically.
They fall apart. Now, the Niners are inconsistent because, again, they just don't have enough players.
But boy, when they turn it on, again, this is another team you would not want to face in the playoffs.
If they were reasonably healthy, they are really exceptionally well coached.
other reasons to like them, Colin. They had their first 20-yard carry of the season in week 11.
They were the last team to get there. I wonder if the return of Purdy just gave the defense
different looks. Arizona could not stop them all day. And Colin, you look at the schedule down the
stretch. Oh, I did. Carolina and Cleveland up next. The Cleveland, Cleveland is going to be tough
at Cleveland. Then look at that. The late buy. That is fascinating because it gives them a chance
to recalibrate the health of an Iuke, a piercell, incorporate new.
concepts. I think San Francisco's
a buy team going forward.
I think they're a lot to make the wild card.
Obviously, not going to win the business. How about that last game
of the year was Seattle? Oh my God.
How good. That'll be a Fox game.
Seattle and San Francisco in Santa Clara.
That could be for seating. That could be for the playoffs.
Should be a really, really good one.
Next story, not as good of a loss.
Sorry, California team, and that's the Chargers.
Colin, heading into their by week,
they went to Jacksonville and looked disinterested.
It looked like they didn't.
want to play. The worst loss of the Jim Harbaugh era, they lose 356 to Jacksonville. I mean,
Jacksonville had 30 first downs? I mean, this was staggering. I did not anticipate this.
It was just a no-show from the Chargers, which is very uncharacteristic for all. All Jacksonville games
are weird. I mean, Jacksonville be Kansas City. I, you know, I, I just wonder, how long can you
band-aid the offense? And that's how I look at him. Now, they're just putting band-aids and Bondo all
with this offense and I think at some point, I mean, we know Jacksonville.
They've been drafting near the top of the draft for years.
They've got talent.
They have two good running backs.
They have two good defensive linemen.
It's not that Jacksonville doesn't have talent.
They kind of lack structure and momentum and culture.
But when you watch that game yesterday, you're like, yeah,
Jacks have a ton of really high-end players.
You can see it.
It's not a barrage.
When you draft top 10 a lot, you get a lot of really good players and they have them.
Yeah.
Even more worse news for the Chargers.
they got the Eagles on deck.
Well, they got the Raiders, then the Eagles,
Chiefs, Dallas, Houston's defense,
Denver's defense.
Colin, that offensive line can't protect Herbert?
Can't.
They're probably not going to make the playoffs.
And I don't think people should overreact
just because you lose both your tackles.
You got no chance.
A couple big breaking news here on another injury of the NFL tackle.
These guys are invaluable.
If you can't protect your quarterback.
Look at the Eagles when Lane Johnson doesn't play.
That's the one.
He's probably going to go on the I-R now.
Jalen Hurts is 5 and 9.
Without Lane Johnson.
A right tackle, not a left or right.
So you lose both elite tackles?
Got no shot.
Yeah.
Here's Harbaugh and the loss.
We got beat every which way you could possibly be beat.
We just weren't doing anything well.
Offensively, we weren't running the ball well.
We weren't protecting.
We weren't getting open.
And defensively, you know, same.
we weren't stopping the run.
We were losing coverage.
Yeah, I mean, go through every phase.
We got beat every which way you could get beat.
We were out physical as well.
Any main reason?
Every, every phase.
I mean, we can go through it.
Now we're going to figure out what we're going to do about it.
Yeah, I think their teams sometimes can try to fool themselves.
I think they knew very early in the,
this game, they were in big trouble and it just went sideways fast.
Yeah, they're getting to Hampton back apparently after the by week.
Final story, Colin.
Shadour Sanders.
Everybody take a deep breath, okay?
Dylan Gabriel leaves with a concussion.
Shadour Sanders comes in.
The stat line wasn't great.
Four of 16, 47 yards, a pretty brutal interception, although the offensive line did him no favors.
I don't want to pile on the kid, okay?
Here's the problem.
He takes through the podium after the game, Colin, and take a listen.
and let me know what you think of this.
It was a rough day overall, but the thing that I was excited about is just being able to get out there.
You know, I feel fulfilled overall when it comes to being out there practicing, going in between the lines, seeing actually what it's like.
And I know I'm made for it, you know.
I don't think it was a doubt in my mind that that final drive was going to go down there.
score things happened we didn't but I was just excited because I knew I knew what I was going to be
able to do out there yeah it's fine I mean I listen there's going to be people that defend him and
go why isn't he taking first team reps well Josh Dobbs went to the Vikings without a practice
and threw for 350 yards Baker mayfield came to the Rams and had one practice I think one
and had a game winning drive this idea he's been with a team for six months like
He's ready to play.
You don't need first team reps.
I got all sorts of guys in the NFL.
Joe Flacco shows up in Cincinnati.
An hour later, he's throwing touchdown passes.
He's fine.
He had a couple spin moves that I liked.
He had a good throw deep.
There's not much to be made from it.
Listen, I will say this.
Dylan Gabriel had stabilized the offense the last couple of weeks,
and this coaching staff prefers Dylan Gabriel based on who they're playing.
And I think Shadour looked looser than Dylan Gabriel.
Dylan Gabriel is what he is, knows what he is.
I thought,
Shadour gets a little negative running backwards,
maybe thinks he's a little more athletic than he is.
He was fine.
But I don't buy into the excuses.
I don't buy into the excuses.
Well, what about the first team reps?
Josh Dobbs won a game with no practices joining Minnesota.
This kid's had 100 practices with the team.
He knows the offense.
If you look at some different angles on the interception,
the Ravens had a guy blitz right up the middle.
untouched and Chador just kind of
he had no chance on the pick so I'm not going to
bury him I'll say this though
they face the Raiders this week
in Vegas now obviously
Raiders have Crosby who's very good
but the Raiders are having a short week
right they play tonight
there's a world where if Shadur starts
he has some success I'm not going to rule
out that Chadur has a good
first start if he faces the Raiders this week they're not good
we know that yeah I mean I don't have
he had a really nice spin move
and then the next play
through a corner ball to the end zone that was beautiful.
So he had back-to-back plays.
I was like, oh, that's not.
He also had a completion.
Now, Jerry, Judy, did most of the work.
But again, it was fine.
He looked a little overwhelmed.
The knock on him, one of the knocks out of college was he tends to run backwards.
He did that once where he ran backwards.
So it was fine.
It's not the end of the world.
He had a bad pick.
Darnold had four.
It happens.
But I don't buy this.
Well, where are all the reps for the first team?
guys backups are backups for a reason.
I mean, I just, you don't get a lot of reps with the first team.
In life, you're going to get opportunities because somebody's sick at work.
You're not going to get a lot of reps with the first team employees.
That's the way the world works.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd lie news.
It's interesting.
Jay Mack talked about that George Kettle and Purdy hang out together.
And you could watch yesterday.
You can tell they just, they've got something works.
Brock Purdy has a 141
passer rating in his career when targeting George Kittle.
So it's very obvious.
That's the one thing.
Purdy moves better than Mack Jones.
And he and Kittle,
there's a symmetry,
and it just jumps through the TV.
So, okay, all Eagle games
should come with a Red Bull
so it keeps all of us awake.
They're kind of really good and really boring.
And now it'll get worse
because Lane Johnson is out
for several weeks.
It's not season ending, but he'll be out a month plus.
And Jalen Hertz's passer rating gets into the 70s without Lane Johnson.
So I thought the Spurs Tim Duncan Dynasty was boring.
Philadelphia wins all feel like they're doing it by submission.
So their second most three and outs, top three in punts,
and yet they just kind of squeeze you.
They got a little bit like a python.
They just kind of squeeze you to.
death. And last year, at least you were getting those Sequin Barkley, big explosive runs. You don't
get those. Their bottom five in passing offense, man, were they targeting A.J. Brown last night.
So it's not much fun. It's got an assembly line feel to it. In fact, Jalen Hertz is 4 and 0 this year
in his four worst games. So they're unlike Buffalo, which feels very beholden to how Josh Allen
plays, Philadelphia can win ugly. That's kind of the only way they win by submission.
And there's the old saying Bill Belichick used to always say his genius as a defensive coach
was, I want to make the other team play left-handed. I want to take away their strength.
What is Philadelphia's strength? I mean, A.J. Brown got the targets, but Devante's been
more reliable. Sequin Barclay's great, but not this year. Jalen doesn't throw a lot of picks.
He also doesn't throw for a lot of yards.
I mean, their defensive interior line could be their identity.
They're great.
So, Sequin Barclays regressed.
There's wide receiver drama.
The quarterback's limited.
They squeeze into submission.
They're not even push-pursion much.
Here's Nick Sariani on the win.
As I watch football today, I feel like I saw a lot of, like, teams waiting to lose.
Our team's waiting to win.
because they know how to win.
There's something to be said for that,
of knowing how to win
and knowing how to figure out ways to win.
Do we want things to be better?
Yeah, of course.
You're in a constant quest of getting better.
Well, speaking of winning, the Rams did again.
Stafford plays another clean game.
Sean McBain next.
It's The Herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd,
weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How high can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it,
unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents Soccer Moms.
So I'm Leanne.
This is my best friend Janet.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip, just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white claw or something here?
Just a second.
What are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
Come on.
I would buy it.
Cut through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
You're lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Well, I said Friday, I thought it was the game of the year.
Two great coaches, really good rosters, all sorts of pass rush and youth.
The Rams in one of the wildest games.
I want to give you a glimpse of Sean McBey in the post game.
It was not an artistic masterpiece, but it was wildly entertaining.
Here's Sean after.
Never take for granted.
Find it away.
Just being able to be so resilient defensively.
What a blessing offensively for us to be able to learn from this and continue to grow.
But man, this group finding different ways to be able to win.
Can't say enough about it.
Can't get one big.
And he joins us live, Sean McVeigh.
I got to tell you, one of the things that jumped through the TV screen was the energy.
Mike, and I said this last week, I said this, John Snyder wanted to hire you.
He was looking for Sean McVeigh, and he kind of found you on defense.
I do think your intensity actually, it's like a baton to your team.
Your team plays with your energy.
I think Seattle plays with Mike's energy.
what jumped through the TV to me
is the game had mistakes,
but you're on the sideline of that game.
It didn't feel like a lot of games
I've seen this year. It felt
juiced. It felt energized.
Did it to you? Yeah.
Well, I'll tell you what, I love this group.
They energized me, Colin.
And I tell you, just the way that these guys
stay connected, it was a unique game.
There wasn't a lot of possessions
and plays that the offense had,
but our defense kept making them snap it one more time,
forcing turnovers, tightening up in the red area,
being good in crunch time situations, guys stepping up, Ethan Evans, you know, so we're finding
different ways to win. We've had examples where we put it all together, and then we've
had examples where we have to be able to play off of one another and ultimately come away with
more points than the other team, and that's a great football team, but I was fired up for our
group, and I just love the resolve of this team and the way that they stay connected, most
importantly, and I was fired up. My mom's going to be yelling at me for the curse words.
I've got to be careful having a two-year-old around. He repeats.
everything I say, so I've got to clean up the language.
Yeah, those two-year-olds are like, they're parents.
They say everything you say, you're going to hear it back later.
No doubt.
When you, you guys have had success with Darnold, and Sam sometimes can play a little fast,
a little frenetic, and Coach Shula has done that on your staff.
I thought a couple of times, my interpretation was Sam saw stuff late.
He was just a beat late.
is that scheme coverage, pass rush.
Why the success against Sam?
Because Sam had played mostly clean this year, but he was late on stuff.
What do you credit that for?
Yeah, well, I think Sam has done a great job, and I totally agree how well he's played.
I think it's the epitome of Russian coverage playing together.
And that's why I always think stats are for losers because we had zero sacks,
but those four interceptions were such a great combination of.
He gets sped up with Russian coverage.
You feel that pocket collapse.
He has to deliver the ball earlier than he wants.
I mean, you look at Puna Ford coming free that forces Darius Williams pick.
We had a bunch of examples on all four where it was a combination of he sped up
or he's having to accelerate his process of reading with his feet.
And then guys are in windows that maybe they shouldn't be because he's not able to see it
and play on the time and rhythm that he wants.
But it was a great job by our group as a whole, bringing it to life.
And I think you see on all four of those interceptions, the consistent theme is
there's a push in the pocket, there's somebody flashing across his face,
and there's guys connected and in their spots on the back end.
Yeah, when you were in the second and third quarters, you guys barely had the ball.
When you would talk to Stafford, was your sense, listen, let's just play clean,
let's not give them any short fields here, they're athletic enough,
or were you getting frustrated because, I mean, there was but an hour and a half period
where you didn't have the ball much, is that cycle, that period.
What are you doing as a coach?
Are you like you're making defensive plays?
I'm comfortable with it.
Or are you on the headset with Matt and saying,
let's try this, this, this,
or you're staying on the game plan?
Yeah, I'm with the defense during those things.
And then we have dialogue.
It was frustrating just when you look at it
from an offensive vantage point because,
you know, you have the first four drives of the game
where you go right down,
you end up, you know, missing on a fourth and one.
Then we end up scoring.
You score again.
And then our fourth drive represents a three and out where we didn't do what we were supposed to do.
Then the next time we touch that's with eight minutes left in the second quarter.
Then you come back midway through the third quarter and you have a two-play sequence where we turn it over.
So you've had five plays in what's probably real time, an hour and a half like you mentioned.
It is frustrating and it can get a little misleading when you go back and you watch it.
You know, the margin fair is slim against a great team like that.
But our guy stayed in the fight and I thought Matthew did a phenomenal job.
of being able to play the game the way it needed to be played.
We weren't able to sustain drives and just, you know, the possession was how it was.
He didn't have as many opportunities, but he took care of the football, got the ball where it was supposed to go.
They didn't take negatives.
We did some things pre-snap that's uncharacteristic, but we'll look forward to being able to clean this up.
And like I said, in that locker room, it's a blessing for us to be able to learn from it against an excellent outfit like yesterday was.
Last seven games, 22 touchdowns, no picks for Stafford.
could I, that's crazy.
Could I argue
facing your defense in practice
with its mobility and flexibility and dexterity
that actually benefits Matt
because he's not facing a defense
on the field that's as good as practiced.
Does that help in your opinion?
Yeah, I think it helps him
when we do do the few plays a week
but I think he's just playing really well.
I think the guys around him are playing well.
I think he's really understanding.
to be able to play it.
Like, this is where you see the 17 years of experience
and understanding, you know,
where are those spots that I can be more aggressive?
Where can I be smart with the football?
I think guys have played well around them.
And, you know, the best part is,
is he's so grateful to be able to get the win.
And I thought he did really what he could relative
to how the game unfolded.
There was a couple bad plays that I had on some second down
in 10 situations that I didn't help us.
But he's just doing a great job
of understanding the totality
of how the game's supposed to be played.
you know, through the quarterback, but from a coach's vantage point,
and it still is aggressive, but it's not reckless.
I want to ask you before we go, you're very progressive, you very much follow the analytics,
but there are moments in games where I do, I always call it man analytics,
where I just want to see men make plays, I'm not going by the book, I trust my team.
I want you, viewed as one of the smarter guys in this sport with analytics,
are there ever times that you literally get on the headset, or you're talking about,
talk to Matt and you're like, yeah, I'm just going to do this. I just feel this. How do you weigh
analytics? 100%. Well, here's the thing that I would say, I have tremendous respect for taking all
these things in for the input, but in a lot of instances, they got all the answers and no accountability
to the outcomes. And so I do think there's a feel for the flow of the game. There's 22 moving parts
that are unpredictable. And it's not just these decisions aren't made in a box, but you're betting on
people you're betting on different scenarios situations. What are the matchups based on what you're
projecting schematically? You know, and so all those things weigh into it. But I thought our fourth
down conversions offensively were key and critical that led to scoring drives, whether it's our first
touchdown from two yards out from Kyron, whether it ended up being a fourth and one run where he goes for
34 and then we end up hitting Devante two plays later. So guys have done a good job, but it's a part of it.
It's not the only part of it because I just think this game has so many moving parts with 22 variables, every single snap.
Who's your leader on defense? It's young. Who's your leader?
Well, we've got great leaders across the board. I think what's cool is we've got captains on all three levels where Kobe Turner, Nate Landman and then Quentin Lake,
they've done a great job. I think, and innately some of these guys that are thrust into a leadership role with the communication,
Landman's such a great communicator. Quentin Lake's been outstanding. But those things,
three captains, but I can name some other guys that stepped up in a big way. I think the cool thing
is we got a bunch of guys that have leadership capacity. Those were the guys that were voted
on with captains, but there's a lot of guys, you know, you don't have to be a captain to be a
leader. And I think, you know, our team's got a lot of guys with those natural traits and
characteristics. All right. Eight and two, you're humming. You are humming. I would say get some
good rest, but that's not you. It's the football season, four hours a four hours a day,
Max, probably. It's great seeing you.
Hey, good to see you, too. Appreciate it.
All right. Sean McVeigh on a wild, crazy.
Not a lot of games looked like that.
Just it had a ton of juice and a ton of energy and great young players everywhere.
Two teams that have drafted extraordinarily well.
Sean McVeigh.
Colin Wright, Colin Wrong, top of next hour.
It's just such a wild game.
You know, Jay Mack and I were talking about this.
I thought the Niners yesterday played really well offensively.
Brock brings in a dimension they don't have with Mac.
But I think what's happening in the NFL right now is if you have a star quarterback,
like Stafford's a pretty big cap hit, how do the Rams have such a great roster when
Stafford's a big cap hit?
They've drafted well.
It all comes back to the draft.
You watch Seattle.
Man, they have not missed on a lot of draft picks of Philadelphia.
Go look at that defensive line.
Those early draft picks, they have hit on a lot of those.
And we can talk about free agency and stars and quarterbacks.
The way to win in this league, when you have a star veteran quarterback, the Rams are an example.
You've got a hit on Pooka Naku in the fifth round.
You've got to go look at the Rams secondary.
I mean, they've got a safety in the third round.
Well, they have a safety that plays that's undrafted.
You just have to hit in April on picks.
Otherwise, all it takes is a couple of missed draft picks.
You're paying a quarterback.
You look up and you just don't look fast.
You don't look twitchy.
So, Colin right, Colin wrong.
next hour. We'll get to the Buffalo Bills.
Josh Allen's incredible.
And you're watching that game yesterday,
and I know it's historic,
but my take is
with Josh Allen, he almost
normalizes three touchdowns running, three passing.
Oh, no, not quite, but he almost normalizes it.
That's how gift it is.
After that loss to Miami, Colin, it feels like
they're saying, Josh, take over.
Don't let us lose. You run the show, do
whatever you have to do.
Hour two. We're in Chicago. It's the Hurd.
Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.
