Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes

Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Greg CoSell, less than five minutes away,
44 years NFL films, whether you like betting football,
fantasy football, or getting smarter at football,
he'll help you in all three.
Jay Mack, are you a clipper or a Laker fan?
You're not a clip guy.
I call them the paper clips every single time I reference the team.
I am a Laker fan for sure.
And for those who want to ask,
Wait a minute, you like New York teams.
The first basketball game I ever went to, we had a lot of family in New York.
We'd drive up from D.C., and my first ever game was Knicks Lakers at the Guard.
And as a guard, I saw Magic Johnson and I was smitten.
I was like, that's the guy.
I want to be Magic Johnson.
So I'm a Laker.
Yeah, but he passed and you never do in real basketball.
I passed when I was younger.
Now I'm older, and I just got a, hey, we got a tough one tonight, coward.
We got the undefeated mark on the line.
Should I go on or should I just clip it there?
Yeah, clip it there.
Okay.
Maybe I'll stop by, or maybe I won't.
We have like two guys with the phone showing the Thursday night football game for everybody interested.
Okay.
So here's a story.
Could the commanders in Washington try to hire Bill Belichick after the season?
Apparently, it's in league circles.
It's being discussed by people in the league.
Now, there's a story that Belichick has an extension of a contract as well.
But they wouldn't have to fire Belichick.
They wouldn't have to engineer a mutual parting.
they wouldn't owe him any money.
They could actually get back some compensation they gave to the Jets while hiring him in 2000.
It goes on and on and on and on about how Robert Kraft could actually get out of this thing.
Anyway, the point being in league circles, commanders, Belichick is being discussed.
So first of all, all good things.
And trees, as somebody told me in the financial sector once, don't grow to the sky.
years ago, Belichick, and we all sort of watched him and worshipped him for years, he said something that bothered me.
Urban Meyer was quoted saying, I'm always amazed how he takes these non-stars and makes some stars.
Players you haven't really heard much about, all of a sudden they're making great plays in the biggest games.
I started asking Bill about it.
He made this point to me, and I shared it with our team.
He said, at this point in my career, I want to coach guys like I like.
I want to coach guys.
I want to be around.
And that's it. He said, I'm not going to coach anybody else.
Well, that's ideal in a perfect world. But there's way too many players and personalities
for that to ever be true. A locker room's got over 50 guys. Right. There's going to be a
selfish guy, a temperamental guy, a me guy, a distracted guy, an immature guy. And Bill doesn't
want to coach them. And what bothers me about that is that Bill Howell,
the power. Bill had the power
to make that as close
to a reality as the NFL has.
And that's
why he signs
marginal players.
Because some of our great personalities
and more difficult players,
you ever thought about this? What position do they play?
Starwide receiver.
Bill re-signs
Devonte Parker.
Likes Juju Smith-Schuster.
I mean, I'm just
I'm sitting here thinking, you only
only want to coach the guys you like.
Isn't that selfish?
It used to be all about winning.
Sacrifice everything for winning.
Just do your job.
Well, doing your job is not a perfect world.
There's going to be players that are selfish.
There's going to be players that are distracted, immature.
These are kids.
They're not perfect.
So my takeaway is I don't know what to make of this story.
I thought it was interesting.
and I think he's going to be considered one of the great coaches of all time.
But if you're selling me something hard, like sacrifice, take less, all about winning,
and then you pivot to, I'm only going to coach the guys I like.
Really?
I mean, Andy Reid, you think he loves every guy in that locker room?
I know he doesn't because every year he moves off several.
That's part of sports.
you age, they're younger, different world.
They come from different backgrounds.
They're imperfect.
It is interesting, though.
Some of the more personality-filled players in this league have been wide receivers.
What is the one position Bill has struggled to draft and develop?
Wide receiver?
Is that part of it?
Like, I'm not going to deal with personality on the perimeter.
Well, don't you have to?
Those are the basketball players of football.
They break the huddle first.
It's one-on-one.
It's me against you.
They're the superstars in the league.
league along with quarterbacks.
You got to deal with some ego at wide receiver.
I mean, listen, O'Dell Beckham's had his issues.
I still like Baltimore going to get OBJ.
They got to deal with some of it.
And with that, Greg Kosell, 44 years, NFL films.
So a couple weeks ago, Derek Carr's yelling, screaming at players.
And Hamer came on our show and says, you know, you can't take it personally.
It's no big deal.
I've been in the league a long time.
But again, he's been in the league.
for a decade, for a rookie or a second-year guy, or Olave, having an NFL quarterback,
national TV bark at you may not land very well.
But I've always liked him.
What is the film say on Derek, new coach, new system, new teammates?
Greg, what does it say?
I would say that for the most part this season, Colin, he's been a good decision maker.
He's processed well.
The issue has been that he misses.
too many routine throws with poor ball location.
He's always had, you know, you watched him, I'm sure, going back to Fresno State when he was
throwing to Devont Adams.
He's always had that snap throwing ability, almost similar to an Aaron Rogers, the way he
could just snap it off.
And because of that, he's at times had issues with his lower body mechanics, not stepping
to his throws.
So he often throws across his body.
And when you do that, at the end of the day, you're going to.
to have ball placement issues. That is not conducive to being consistently accurate. So I think that he's
a solid NFL quarterback. He just misses a few too many throws, but it's not as if he doesn't see
things well or he doesn't know where to throw the football. He just misses some throws and it's
shown up this year as well. He did play a solid game this past week. He executed some really well-designed
concepts very effectively, didn't make any bad reads, didn't throw any balls into coverage. And through a
couple of really good deep balls.
Okay, there are four games I care about this weekend, Dolphins,
Seahawks, Ravens, Cowboys Eagles, Bills, Bingles.
Before that, though, I got to ask you, I talk commanders.
So they're going to move off the coach.
It feels like that.
They're moving off defensive pieces.
They're getting draft picks.
They have new owners.
My guess they'll have a new coach coming up next year.
The question I said the other day with Mack Jones and Sam Howe,
I think I would give them another year with a new, maybe, you know,
an offensive mind, somebody else.
but let's stay on Sam Howell.
I like him in, but it's just going to be key here.
Because if you're going to get a new coach, he may just not like Sam Hal.
What would a new coach, an offensive guy, if he looked at Sam Hell's tape this year?
Greg, what would he see?
Oh, I think they'd be impressed with Sam Howell.
Sam Howell is a tough kid in the pocket.
He's got a good arm.
He's working through what young quarterbacks work through, where he has.
at times needs to find that balance between staying in the pocket and getting out of the pocket
or throwing the ball away.
So at times he'll take sacks that are unnecessary, but he throws a really good ball.
He sees things pretty well.
I mean, you know, Colin, you watch a lot of quarterbacks.
He definitely looks like he belongs.
This is not too big for Sam Howell by any means.
And he's made some big time throws this year.
You know, don't forget, he's playing behind probably a very very,
below average NFL offensive line. Yes, he does have weapons, but when the offensive line is not
very good, you have issues. The run game, for whatever reason, they've not used in a volume way,
which I think most of us thought they would when the season started. So he's not in a very good
situation to develop as a young quarterback, but he's shown really good traits. I would definitely
be staying with Sam Howell. All right, Dolphins Chiefs overseas first big game Sunday.
City's offense, it's pretty clear, very dependent in the red zone on Travis Kelsey.
Sky Moore had drops, Rice had drops. How do you, are you concerned watching Kansas City's
offense? Are these correctable traits, correctable habits with the Chiefs offense?
You know, look, they don't have a ton at the wide receiver position, but you can say that
going back even last year for the most part. You know, obviously coming off this last game,
there's a tendency now to overreact.
What happened last game was simply this.
Every once in a while, the plays in which Patrick Mahomes moves,
and he moves prematurely, that's in his DNA.
More often than not throughout his career,
he's made good plays, at times great plays, when he moves.
Last week he moved, and those plays didn't happen.
That happens once in a while, because those plays do have a little bit of a random nature to them.
Sure.
He's just an absolute master.
at moving and seeing things in a way that others can't.
And then, of course, we know he can make off-platform throws.
But that won't happen for 17 weeks.
So last week was just one of those weeks when that didn't happen.
My guess is this week with Andy Reid, they'll go back to being a little more disciplined,
a little more structured.
We've seen that throughout the last number of years, Colin, when they've gotten a little
off track, what do they do?
They come out.
They throw timing rhythm throws.
They're shorter throws.
they get back on track. My guess is that will happen.
Tua, how does he match up against a fast, quick Chief's defense on film?
Yeah, you know, I've watched the Dolphins in great detail going back to last year when Mike McDaniel
became the head coach. And I really believe that the foundation of what they do, this is not a
profound statement, but it speaks tactically to what they do. I think it's about speed.
because the way they can expand you horizontally with what they do and then also stretch you vertically
creates a lot of room.
And it really truly allows Tua to be what he is, which is exactly what I thought he would be coming out of Alabama,
a timing, rhythm, precision player.
It allows him to play that way.
They stretch you horizontally with their run game concepts, and they stretch you vertically
with the fact that they have so much speed.
So it really opens up space in the middle of the field in their past game.
And I think that that speed is really the defining feature.
And I'm really curious to see how Steve Spagnolo, who's been doing this a long time and seen a lot how he chooses to deal with it.
So Ravens host Seattle.
I like Baltimore in this spot.
The question really becomes, can Gino go toe to toe with Lamar Jackson?
and Gino now has another new receiver, a slot receiver.
This team feels very Pete Carroll.
Pass rush, run the football, limit the mistakes by the quarterback.
So Baltimore's defense now is ranked number one in the league scoring defense.
How does Gino Smith and this offense stack up against it?
They are a fun defense to watch, Kyle.
I think Mike McDonald, their de-coordinator, a young kid is doing a great job.
Now they have O-Way back and we'll see if he developed.
into a big-time pass rusher.
But for the most part, they lead the NFL and SACs without a big-time pass rusher.
And they are so scheme-dependent and they do an outstanding job of understanding
opponent's past protections, attacking them and breaking them down with schemes,
not with one-on-one individual matchups.
And that will be the challenge for the Seahawks offense in this game.
Now, the Seahawks are jumping back and forth and having a little more success now
between playing with multiple tight-end personnel, which they've done so effectively going back to last year,
but now adding in more 11 personnel, three wide receivers, because of Jackson Smith,
Najigba, who's starting to come on a bit.
So I'm very curious to see how they'll play because they're going to have to deal with pressure
when you get into those long-yarded situations.
And obviously, when you go three-wide, you lose a body sometimes in pass protection.
So we'll see.
But Gino Smith, you're right.
he's become a very professional quarterback.
Yeah.
So, DAC goes to Philadelphia.
So I will say this as a compliment.
Dak and C.D. Lamb has become a very proficient, effective combination.
Maybe not Burrow Jamar Chase, but really, really good.
Now, you know, between Slay and Bradbury, are they going to roll over coverage?
They brought a safety over the Eagles did.
Do they double?
My takeaway is look at Dak and look at what the Eagles do on film.
what kind of game do you expect from Dack and the Cowboys offense against Philadelphia?
Well, the thing about C.D. Lamb, and by the way, Dax, his last two games have been his best two games of the season.
He's really throwing the ball with confidence. He's making tight window throws effectively.
He's turning it loose. I mean, this touchdown we're looking at right now is a big-time NFL throw.
He's actually moved a lot better the last two weeks as well.
I'm really curious to see what they do with C.D. Lamb about an equal amount of his targets this year have come outside and in the slot.
They will move him around because there may be times where the Eagles do want to bracket him, double him.
So they'll move him around.
I think one of the things that's standing out with the Eagles defense, we've talked so much about their pass rush, which is obviously very good.
but their secondary does not have great speed.
And I think that, again, that I'm not saying it's a fatal flaw,
but I think that that can be exploited.
And I think that that's something to watch in this game.
Interesting.
Jalen Hertz and Philadelphia, I've just come to realize it's not always pretty.
He's not always healthy.
But they have a way of situationally, third down, fourth down, home road,
just making positive plays.
And they just figure out a way to move the chains.
They always get the big drive, the long drive,
precisely when they need it.
So I like, you know, I mean, that's just what they do.
Like I just, it's like Michael Jordan, end of games.
I just make a bucket in every big spot.
I feel that way with Philly.
It's why I like him this weekend.
What are you seeing from Jalen Hertz on film?
Not as productive, more mistakes, but is there growth?
What do you see?
Yeah, I thought last week he played really well.
Now, again, that was against the commanders who they clearly felt they could throw the ball against based on the commander's secondary.
And so they came out and they made it a throwing game.
They did not really run the ball until later game.
This is a different animal this week.
I'm really curious to see what the Eagles offensive approaches.
Hertz was really good last week.
He's been pretty precise with his ball location.
That's an area which when he came out, as you know, was a concern for.
for some people, but he's gotten better and better at that.
And he's a pretty precise ball location thrower.
But now they're facing a defense that has a lot of players up front that are
multipositional, very diverse in what they do, four-man fronts, five-man fronts,
a ton of stunts, a very fast defense, and a defense that plays a lot of man-to-man.
This is an aggressive mindset defense.
So this will be a challenge.
And Hertz, I think, has a little bit of a knee issue.
and I thought that that was evident watching the tape last week.
So I don't know where he stands with that.
Okay, I want to go bills at the Bengals.
So Joe Burrow, we talked about this before, may not blow you away size speed arm,
but he tore apart the Niners defense.
Now, Steve Wilkes' defense has not been as good.
That's why they add Chase Young.
But was it easier and more effective for Burrow than you would have suspected going into that game?
You know, you make a great point.
I watched that tape, and Burrow only missed four throws, and he's been phenomenal on first
down, by the way.
Last three games on first down, he's 43 for 52.
They are throwing the ball so well on first down, which many think is the best down to
throw because you get more predictable looks from the defense.
But you come away watching that tape, and Burroughs the kind of quarterback where you never
come away going, wow, that's just unbelievably incredible, because he just makes it
look effortless and easy. He sees things incredibly well. Zone coverage, Colin, he just has such a
great feel for underneath defenders in zone. He just sees them so cleanly and he rarely ever gets
stuck in the pocket. He knows where to go with the football. He just plays quarterback kind of the
old school, old fashioned way, you know, drop back, understand things, see things, deliver the
football and he is precisely accurate.
So he's just kind of for me, I guess I'm old school because who I've been taught by over
the years, but he's just a fun guy to watch.
I got to ask you about Josh Allen.
Brandon, being the GM, said we don't have an identity yet.
So do you see that on film last week against the bucks?
Do you see things where you think, okay, they're muddling around?
They don't know what they are.
Like, what do you see on film with Buffalo?
Yeah, and I think that's why they did what they did against the Bucks.
They came out in no huddle, tempo.
And don't forget, when you come out with no huddle and you play a little tempo,
it doesn't mean you have to snap the ball fast, but the point is you could snap the ball fast.
So you know what that does, Colin?
It shrinks the defensive menu.
They can't do as much as they want to do.
They can't communicate as much pre-snap.
They can't do a lot of disguise in late rotation because they don't know when the ball's going to be snapped.
So it shrinks the defensive menu and it makes it relatively speaking easier for an offense to run what they want to run.
And against the bucks, Allen was probably the most efficient.
I'm talking efficient.
We're not talking about the Josh Allen plays.
We're talking about efficiency.
Probably the most efficient we've ever seen him.
He dropped back, hit his back foot, delivered the football.
From snap to throw, it was far and away the quickest he's ever been in any game in his career.
Wow.
And a lot of that had to do with the fact that it was no huddle tempo and it really defined the defense pre-snap a lot more cleanly.
And I'll be very curious to see if they continue to do that because Lou Anorama with the Bengals,
he's overlooked but does an unbelievably good job in terms of what he does with some disguise,
with some late movement, with three-man pressures and eight in coverage.
He does a lot of things.
So you're trying to shrink that menu and minimize all that.
Okay, so tonight, I think it's an interesting game, mostly because I get Will Levis against the Steelers.
Yeah.
Now, I was not, I, loves his arm too much.
Reminds me a little at Jay Cutler where he's got a great arm, good-looking guy.
I think he kind of knows it, a little too confident for his ability right now.
I'd like a little more, you know, humility, whatever.
He does have an arm.
He's got the physique.
He's a smart kid.
Something doesn't quite, I see him as kind of a hot.
and cold guy, but the debut was pretty good, right?
Yeah, and you hit it right on the head.
He could come out and throw three picks tonight.
You have no idea.
But certainly he's an aggressive thrower of the football.
Yes.
The offense looked different.
They threw the ball down the field.
They used play action a tremendous amount.
Literally half of his dropbacks were play action, either shotgun play action
or under center play action, which helps with protection, by the way.
So their offense just looked different.
And he made a throw last week.
That may have been the best throw of the week.
And that's the play we're going to show, Colin,
because I don't know if people realize how great a throw this really was.
So let's take a look at this throw from last week.
It was actually his last touchdown.
The fourth touchdown he threw where he rolled to his right.
It was play action boot to his right and threw it across the field.
And breaking this down was a lot of fun.
You see him in the gun, okay?
They're in a three-by-one set.
And what he's looking at right now is very defined.
There's a single high safety that's very clear.
Yeah.
You know, there's no disguise involved here.
And at the bottom of the screen versus DeAndre Hopkins,
you've got press man.
It's really a zone coverage, but they're locking DeAndre Hopkins.
Okay.
So now what you're going to see is hard boot action to the right.
That's what this play is.
It's going to have a throwback element to it.
because Westbrook-ahini is going to run a corner post or a corner deep over,
whatever you want to call it.
So now what I want people to understand here is when he delivers this football,
Westbrook-ahini is outside the hash on the right side of the field.
Look where he's going to catch this ball.
Okay, this is an unbelievable throw.
Now, this ball actually travels close to 60 yards in the air,
given the fact that he booted all the way outside his hash,
and look at the pressure. He's throwing this off his back foot. He can't step into this throw.
So this is just what you're talking about. This is an unbelievable throw. He's an aggressive
thrower. But one thing to keep in mind about tonight, their tackles are not very good. They're
offensive tackles. And they have Highsmith and Watt to deal with. So we'll see how it plays out
tonight. You could well be right, Colin. Maybe tonight's an ugly game. You never know.
Yeah. He reminds me a Jay Cutler. Big arm, big confidence. Three touchdowns, three
picks, that could be back-to-back weeks, but I will say this.
There is something fun.
Tannahill tends to be more safe.
Will Levis, a bit of a gunslinger, a little bit of a southern gunslinger?
They have been very rewarding as a fan of the league for years.
Those kind of quarterbacks are fun.
They're hot and cold.
But Levis is an aggressive kid with a big arm, and I'd rather have that than a timid
kid with an average arm, right?
I couldn't agree more.
You're right about that.
Greg Kossel, 44 years, NFL films.
Yeah, the SEC fans always said,
Colony throws too many picks.
And again, who was he playing with?
What was he surrounded by?
He is, to me, Jay Cutler.
Little attitude, little ego, big arm, moves enough, though not a mover.
But, I mean, you can see, like Herbert, he'll throw back foot 58 yards in the air.
I mean, just, now Herbert doesn't have the ego.
Herbert's got more discipline.
Herbert will take the underneath stuff.
Will Levis will be an over-the-top home-run cleanup hitter.
If he was a baseball player, he'd be a cleanup hitter.
a lot of bombs and a lot of strikeouts.
Jim Rice, maybe.
But a lot of fun to watch.
I mean, if you're a Tannihill guy, it always feels a little safe and it's kind of protected.
Will Levis not going to do that?
You see a lot of those highlights from last week.
The Falcons left their cornerbacks on islands, not thinking Levis is a threat.
Steelers won't be doing that tonight.
No chance you're going to see one-on-one out there.
By the way, Minka Fitzpatrick looks like he's a no-go tonight.
Not great.
I'm going to watch it.
It's going to be fun.
All right.
I've got a great parlay for you this weekend.

Now for my parley pick of the week via Draft King Sportsbook.
Dolphins at the Chiefs, Kansas City oversees minus two and a half.
Andy Reid off a loss.
Mahalms off a loss.
Kansas City has a much better O-line and defense.
They rebound and I will swallow the two and a half points.
Seahawks at the Ravens minus six.
quarterback at home, better defense. I like the Ravens here. Ugly win over Arizona. They're a
tough, tough home favorite. I like them here to beat Seattle in cover. Bingles minus two and a half.
I like them hosting the bills to cover. I think Cincinnati's defense is more consistent.
Burroughs situationally at homes better than Josh Allen on the road. Three favorites, Chiefs, Ravens,
Bengals, I'll take all of them. You want to take the Herd Parlay. Check out Draft King's

and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you're not.
I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Okay, so this Seahawks Ravens game is very, very good.
Very, very good.
We know Lamar is 17-1 against NFC teams in his career.
Trying to make it 18-1 against Seattle on Sunday.
Of course, a reporter.
Asked him about that, Lamar was having none of it.
You're up to now 17 and 1 against NFC teams.
Is there ready to explain that?
Bro, playing football.
It's not about NFC or LFC.
I'm trying to win regardless.
I don't even want to put that in my head or let you finish that question.
It would be good.
I think it was more about the fact that maybe...
No.
Don't try to take his question.
No.
I'm going to go in there for pair just like in any...
the other team, 17 to 1?
I was 18 to 1 after this one. I'll see that.
That's funny, actually.
I love that. That response is,
I don't want to hear about AFC-N-FC.
That's a great response. That's one of my favorite
quotes of the year. He's absolutely right.
Now, as somebody who bets
football, it does matter, because
our theory is always, at least mine is,
if you've never faced Lamar,
he's an avalanche, and you have nobody
in practice that you can duplicate it.
You have to face him like Pittsburgh, Cleveland,
Cincinnati, multiple times.
to get a feel for the speed.
Well, I guess the only counter would be Seattle playing in the division with Arizona is familiar
with Kyler Murray, although he has it.
He's been out with the injury.
So I don't think it'll be that much of a shock to the system where I'm hung up, Colin.
And, you know, like, we do the research.
We trust our numbers.
We've got a back history of gambling that we totally are comfortable with.
I don't get this line.
Why is this up to six?
I mean, five and a half here, but it's six in other books.
How are the Seahawks six-point underdogs on the road?
Just explain that to me.
Weren't they?
Geno Smith on script, playing a certain way with a run game, has been very effective.
They're not going to run the ball against Baltimore.
He's going to fall behind on the road and have to play catch-up with this pass rush and be in big trouble.
So let's just remember a couple weeks ago, Seattle went to Cincinnati.
I think they were two and a half or three or whatever the number was.
They end up losing by three, but they outplayed Seattle in that game,
The Bengals fan here, we'll limit that.
Six feels a little high.
I remember a couple weeks ago when Detroit with a great O line and a better quarterback went to Baltimore,
got beat by 30.
Okay.
And then Gardner Minshu went to Baltimore and won in overtime.
Yeah.
Like, things happen.
I don't, does six not feel like a big number?
We're pricing the Ravens like they're the best team in the league.
I wish it was three and a half, but I still like Baltimore.
So you won't take the six.
You wish it were three.
Yeah.
I mean, I just, I don't think it's close.
who's better Lamar or Gino?
I don't even think it's close.
I think right now Lamar Jackson
is the most dangerous quarterback in the league
because Mahomes is better but doesn't have the weapons.
So I get Lamar's speed with his feet,
his throwing and his weapons.
He is the most dangerous player in the league to face
because Mahomes just doesn't have dependable receivers.
And so he's got to do more lifting.
Lamar can do the lifting, but doesn't have to do the lifting.
I love this Baltimore team.
So do you remember?
in the off season when the Jets were like,
we're going to go after Aaron Rogers.
And I was here pounding the table for Lamar Jackson.
Yes, you were.
And I forget who came on, but they were like,
listen, Joe Douglas spent time in Baltimore.
He knows Lamar.
The fact that he's not going for him says something.
And I just wonder, like,
why didn't the Jets make a run at Lamar Jackson?
Like, we can scoff.
But Baltimore did not want to pay him.
They did not want to cave and do the deal.
Ultimately, they did.
If Lamar remains healthy, I'm comfortable saying it right now.
That's your Super Bowl champ.
I've said this for three weeks.
That is your Super Bowl champion.
You get Mahomes' talent with really good weapons and a better defense.
Teams they've beaten this season who have a winning record.
Detroit crushed them.
Detroit, they murdered Detroit.
And then they beat Cincinnati.
Time out.
Oh, Cleveland, I guess.
Okay, time out.
So they beat Cincinnati.
They crushed Detroit.
Well, that was Joe Burrow.
Week two, he was on one leg.
You just said, who have they beaten?
and you gave me three pretty talented teams.
Cleveland was DTR and his first career start for a rookie.
And for the record, it should be Pittsburgh, but they dropped two touchdown passes.
So that was a game they outplayed Pittsburgh, but nobody could catch Lamar's wide-open passes.
You're right.
Something just, I...
All right, you take Seattle.
No, no, no, no, no, no, thank you.
No, thank you.
That's not you hate it, but you won't take it.
The Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and their GM this week.
less than two years after bringing both of them in Vegas went 9 and 16 during that ugly period.
Owner Mark Davis explained why he ultimately decided to make the moves.
Here's what he said.
Unfortunately, I had great hopes for Josh and Dave.
It just seemed like we were going in the wrong direction.
So with the trade deadline, I just felt like it was time to make a change to make a move.
I'll let you go first.
I have a theory on how we miss this.
I'll let you go.
What do you mean missed it?
He was the coach on the hot seat.
What do you mean missed it?
Okay, so like three weeks ago, the Raiders went to Chicago, and Jimmy G. was hurt.
Josh McDeanos had the choice of starting his rookie, who they liked.
Remember preseason, AOC, all this hype?
Or Brian Hoyer, who's like a fossil and is not going to do anything.
Remember how I've talked about our Mexican soccer team that we own?
Yeah.
All these veteran coaches that we hire.
We have a lot of young talent.
They don't want to play them because they want to keep their job.
They want to play the veterans who aren't as good.
McDaniels knew he was on the hot seat in Chicago.
and started Brian Hoyer.
I trust Hoyer.
He's not going to make mistakes.
And the hot seat in Vegas.
Okay, yeah.
Totally.
He messed it up badly.
Hoyer was awful in that game.
You know, what's interesting is that Josh McDaniels, for being a quarterback and working
with Brady, loved Tebow, liked Garoppolo.
He's not great.
You know, I say, you've got to know your business well.
Lincoln Riley may not know defense at USC, but he knows offense.
And Sean McDermott may not know offense.
defense, but he knows defense.
How can Josh McDaniels work with Brady for all those years and like Tebow as a quarterback
and be into Garoppelow as a quarterback?
Like, that's the thing that's weird to me.
How could you go with Hoyer over AOC?
He was scared.
He thought, like, shucks, I'm really in jeopardy getting fired.
And we didn't talk about that at the time.
Listen, nobody else had that.
But we should have seen, why is he starting this old guy?
Because he knew he was in trouble and who's a safer play?
the rookie when you're in trouble or the veteran.
And he went with the veteran.
That's a colossal mistake on his part.
Collin, you have to admit,
if we were taking bets on who was going to be the first coach fired before the season,
we would not have had Josh McDaniels not making it to friggin' Thanksgiving.
Well, I thought Ron Rivera was on the hot season.
Yeah.
There's other coaches out there.
McDaniels lasted 25 games.
By the way, should we just put this out there free from JNC consulting?
Don't hire Josh McDaniels as a head coach.
Like, it's over for him, right?
He's a better coordinator.
Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with that.
That's a seven-figure job.
Assuming he could do a good job.
Like, mentally, he's going to be fried.
I mean, the Denver disaster, the Colts, and now this?
Yeah.
And it feels over for him.
Final story, James Hardin joined his new teammates at Staples last night.
Here he is.
Dapping him up, him and Balmer, hugging it out.
Very excited.
Ahead of the game, of course, and he sat on the bench.
And I saw him give LeBron a big hug.
That was exciting.
Kauai Leonard was asked about the addition of Hardin, and here's what nonverbal Kauai Leonard had to say.
I think we still have to come in, you know, kind of with like a selfish mindset, meaning we can't look over our shoulder and say, this guy is going to win a game or this guy is going to win a game for us.
We still have to, you know, step on that floor like we're out there by ourselves.
And, you know, from there, it's going to be sacrifice.
You know, it's only one basketball, and yeah, we just got to figure it out from there.
But I think we all are old enough to understand what we want to do here, and, yeah, we'll see what happens.
I think there's a lot of players that can have good night.
Kauai had a good night last night.
Did you notice what happened in the end of the game?
He didn't have Paul George.
He had fouled out at that point.
I know.
Paul fouled out.
That hurts a lot.
Let me ask you.
This is not an easy question.
Who was the best player on the court last night?
And a lot of guys played really well.
Well, yeah, I mean, I thought there was a lot.
I thought Kauai Early was great.
I thought Paul George was great.
I thought LeBron late was great.
I thought A.D. had a moment.
So I thought, I mean, Austin Reeves isn't doing much yet.
DeAngelo Russell had a moment.
No, I mean, Kauai early was really good.
Dude, in the first, like, half, he looked like prime Kauai like, oh my gosh, is this the best player in the NBA.
He was unstoppable.
Yeah.
Paul George, by the way, 11 of 16, 6 of 9 from 3,
35. But why did they melt in the fourth? Well, A, Paul George was gone. And B, the offense was
basically Kauai. Can you make something happen? Now, my hot take away from this is no James Hardin,
no Terrence man. This team is going to be very, very scary. I will admit to putting some money
on the clippers to win the title this week. Oh gosh. Listen, if they're healthy, I'm just telling you,
that five-out lineup with PJ Tucker, by the way, PJ Tucker, LeBron did not want to attack him on the
pick and roll late. He couldn't attack
him. Kauai was not giving up the switch.
There was so much good stuff in that game last night.
Man, I love that basketball game.
It was fun. You stayed up for all of it, right?
I watched the first half at the 900 Club, and the second
half listened on the way home.
That's good. And then got home and watched it. I know a lot of these
other guys talk about games. They don't watch them, you know?
No, it was a great guy was sitting next to Laker fans going crazy because the
clippers have owned the Lakers for years, and they were
really into it. Wait, hold on. Two trips to 900 this week?
Yeah. I wasn't invited to either of them. Interesting.
No. Well, you know, I like to talk, you know, a lot of covert information.
Was it Cougar Wednesdays or no? No, it was just wine Wednesday.
Oh, right, right. And I don't drink wine.

I don't think there's a more important year for black people.

Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app,

Sunday on Fox, it's one of the biggest games of the year.
Dallas versus Philly, Dak versus Jalen in America's Game of the Week.
The next chapter in this historic rivalry kicks off Sunday at 4 Eastern on Fox.
There are four games you've got to watch this weekend.
This is one of them.
It's on Fox.
So Greg Cotsell's been doing this now for four decades plus watching film.
And he had this to say about.
Dack, very positive, going into his game against the Eagles.
His last two games have been his best two games of the season.
He's really throwing the ball with confidence.
He's making tight window throws effectively.
He's turning it loose.
He's actually moved a lot better the last two weeks as well.
I think one of the things that's standing out with the Eagles defense,
we've talked so much about their pass rush, which is obviously very good.
But their secondary does not have great speed.
And I think that, again, that I'm not saying it's a fatal flaw, but I think that that can be exploited.
And I think that that's something to watch in this game.
Very excited about that.
So my gut says that Dallas, which has been a completely hot and cold team, will lose.
But I do think division rivals, they know they match up pretty good.
Their O line matches up okay with a D-line of the Eagles, which can be very disruptive to average O lines.
Dallas will stay around.
It's 27, 23 Eagles, very competitive, very close.
I still don't think Jalen Hertz is healthy.
Another game you need to watch is Cincinnati hosting Buffalo.
It's Josh Allen against Burrow, perceived as the second best quarterbacks in the league,
although I think Lamar Jackson's now become that behind Mahomes.
And CoSell, this is very important.
We know Burrow played well against the Niners,
but CoSell really like what he saw again.
Against the Bucks for Josh Allen.
Against the bucks,
Allen was probably the most efficient.
I'm talking efficient.
We're not talking about the Josh Allen plays.
We're talking about efficiency.
Probably the most efficient we've ever seen him.
He dropped back, hit his back foot, delivered the football.
From snap to throw, it was far in a way the quickest he's ever been in any game in his career.
It was no huddle tempo, and it really defined the defense pre-snap a lot more cleanly.
and I'll be very curious to see if they continue to do that.
You know, it's funny.
There's two quarterbacks in this league that we think are sort of wild
and at times play a bit out of control, very athletic.
Lamar Jackson, who plays totally under control, high completion percentage,
and Josh Allen, who currently leads the NFL in completion percentage.
So it's funny.
We think of Alan and Lamar as these super athletes that make stuff happen,
but can be a little erratic from the pocket.
just not true. Lamar has become an excellent pocket
thrower and Josh Allen is highly accurate and highly
efficient. There you go. I think Buffalo, and I've been
critical of Buffalo below, and I've been on Cincinnati now
for a month. So I bet them way back when they beat Arizona. I bet them
against the Seahawks. I liked them against the Rams. I've been on
the Bengals for a month and I've been very cool on the bills. I like
Buffalo to win. They added Rassul Douglas and excellent.
corner who will play immediately, and the best pass rusher for the Bengals is reportedly
out.
Well, yeah, Trey Hendrickson did not practice yesterday.
We don't, he's not officially ruled out yet.
Interesting, I know you care about the gambling stuff.
Remember, I'm friendly with a guy at one of those syndicates in Vegas, they released the
Bengals minus one and a half about an hour ago, ticked up to two, two and a half instantly.
I don't know why the number was so light.
We've talked about this during a commercial break.
Like, why aren't the Bengals laying a...
Who else did the syndicate like?
They gave out Patriots over Washington at two and a half.
Oh, no, that's one of my blazing fibers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But that was on like Monday.
The line's long gone.
Yeah.
I don't know what.
Patriots.
I like the Patriots this week.
So I was telling our esteemed producer here about Joe Burrow.
He had like 15 yards rushing in the entire season before the San Fran game.
And he had like 43 yards against Sanfran.
So coming off the by, Burrow, now 100%.
Buffalo offense has not.
look crisp. Buffalo defense. Not amazing. That's why they went and got a top corner.
But Rasul Douglas just got to Buffalo. We don't even know if he's going to suit it.
Running back in corner are the two positions in football that can be semi-plug-in-play.
You can go play. You can go cover. There's not that many coverages.
McDermott's a good defensive coach. Who's got the coaching edge here? McDermott or...
Well, McDermott, defensive edge and Zach, offensive edge. You have two-star quarterbacks.
Listen, the game's going to be really good.
It's one of the four you need to watch.
Do you remember what the Bengals did in the playoffs?
They went with the heavy sets and just ran the ball down Buffalo's throat.
And Buffalo remembers that.
Okay.
I don't think much has changed.
I like Bengals here.
So we're going head to head.
I like Bill's here.
Oh, head to head.
Do we make it interesting?
I'll go against the syndicate.
That sounds sinister.
I hope they don't get angry of these first.
Vegas syndicate.
Yikes.
Yeah, they're the very best kind.
