Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Every family has its secrets. But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
That is not the look of an innocent man. Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
I felt such desperation. I felt it was what I had to do.

Here we go Friday.
Hour two, fired up lives in Los Angeles.
It's the Hurt.
Whatever platform you're on, thanks for making that part of your day.
I have a very interesting topic in about five minutes I'm going to get to.
Before I get to my picks now, I will admit I'm going to stay away from Chiefs Lions.
I want to watch the game.
I think it's a field goal game either way.
I think Kansas City is better than people think, but I think Detroit's run game is demoralizing
and clock controlling and difficult.
So I'm going to stay away from that.
I'm taking some ugly teams this week.
I have no fear, so I'll be discussing Chiefs Lions later.
Some numbers for you, not great for your number one team in the herd hierarchy.
So let me just say this.
You feast on ugly teams.
You bet Carolina more than like Carolina guy.
But I got my picks this week and I like him.
Here we go.
Let's blaze it up.
It's Collins.
Ways in five.
Seahawks at Jaguys.
Seattle plus one and a half.
Go Moneyline.
They're going to win this puppy outright.
One of five teams to hold a fourth quarter lead in every game.
Even the games they lost, they could have won.
Number two scoring offense since week two.
They've been a great road team with Mike McDonald.
Eight game road winning streak.
And Donald is on an absolute heater in his last three weeks of pass-a-rating over 130.
The Jags on short rest off a hundred.
Highly emotional win.
Probably the biggest Jags win in several years.
Offensively, they are terrible on third down.
The Seahawks played their worst defensive game of the season.
They'll be in a bad mood.
Watch Seattle's defense, come back, revert to what we know they are.
The turnover regression for Jacksonville,
they're not going to keep getting three and four turnovers a game.
Seattle wins outright in a bad mood.
country, 3027 Hawks rebound from that loss last week.
Patriots at Saints.
Take the under Patriot Saints under 45 and a half points.
Neither team runs the ball, right?
Patriots and Saints are scoring under 20 points in half their games this year.
New England's again coming off an emotional, dramatic, tough road win.
I think they come back down to Earth.
I think they win, but it's going to be ugly and low scoring.
They're a top 10 scoring defense.
Christian Gonzalez, now he's back.
It's hard to throw on them.
The Saints, Spencer Rattler's interesting.
Nine touchdown passes and 11 career starts.
These are two teams still finding their way, can't run the ball.
Patriots win, but take the under.
Let's say a 2120, ugly choppy game, take the under.
Chargers at Dolphins.
Can't believe it, but I'm going to take Miami Plus.
the four and a half. Listen, two at home has been good. His last seven home games, he's not the
problem. One 12 passer rating. Chargers could be on their third running back and their third left
tackle. They are a mess. And what that does, they settle for field goals. They are struggling in the
red zone. So even if they dominate time of possession, they're not going to dominate in the
Red Zone. Justin Herbert, three straight games with at least one interception. So I get a team
traveling cross-country on backups to backups, a Miami coach fighting for his career, and they're
getting four and a half at home. I think I'm going to take the Dolphins. Chargers probably
win this game. 24-23, I'm absolutely taking the points with the Dolphins. Titans at Rural.
Again, I'm betting ugly this week.
I like the Raiders minus three and a half.
They're coming off a humiliating road loss.
What the teams do when they're humiliated?
The Giants got humiliated last week.
They beat the Eagles.
They have found a rushing game with Ashton Genty.
Look at the last two weeks for the Raiders.
173 yards rushing, yards per game.
So they're going to lean on that.
And folks, Tennessee's awful.
Forget the win last week.
They're awful.
Hell, the 20 points or fewer in four to five games.
Allowing six yards of play.
So again, I don't love Gino.
I think they're going to run the ball.
It's going to be ugly.
The Raiders were humiliated.
Maybe it's one of their few wins on the year.
But I'm going to take it, swallow the points.
26, 17 over what I think in Tennessee right now is easily the worst team in the league.
Bears at Commanders.
My favorite bet of the week is the commanders minus four and a half.
They're 2 and 0 at home, both blowout wins, last three weeks, averaging 27 plus points in three games.
Okay, so they're getting points on the board.
Jaden Daniels last week looked excellent.
According to PFF, they also have the best special teams.
And their defense is getting after it up front.
So I think you're going to see the Washington of last year Terry McLaurin could play.
The Bears, they've lost four straight-in.
prime time. They're not a rise to the moment franchise. They've been a bad road team forever.
Their defense is allowing the most yards. Do you know that? Lost in all this Caleb Williams
discussion. Their defense is allowing 6.7 yards of play. It's atrocious. The commanders win
3326. J. Mack doesn't love my picks. I'm taking some ugly. I'm taking the points in Miami
at home. I'm taking the Raiders. Raiders had the Bears beat last week, if not for the
that field go.
You don't like my picks.
You know what happened if you lie down with dogs.
You get fleas, Colin, and there's some grossness here.
So I respect that.
By the way, did you look at the Seahawks injury report?
Three of the four starters in the secondary may be down this week.
Not great at all against Trevor Lawrence who's slinging it.
So you're going to take a team that is literally kind of bipolarish at home after the most
important win for the franchise national TV game in years.
I mean, let's be honest about Jacksonville.
When's the last time they played back-to-bat great games against good teams?
Here's what I'm surprised at.
You're taking close spreads.
There's some big ones out there.
Rams are big.
Looks like Lamar's not going to go.
Oh, interesting.
Colts are big.
Looks like Kyler's not going to go.
On this show, what did I do a week ago?
Bills are going to crush the Saints.
Packers are going to crush the Cowboys.
Chargers are going to crush the Giants.
What was last night?
Eagle is going to crush it.
I stayed away from all of them.
All right.
You know what game I actually like?
I could be out of my mind here.
Don't tell me dolphins.
Raiders.
Yeah, you're out of your mind.
For sure.
When you, when you, they're running the ball now.
Raiders are.
A lot of good run defense.
Tommy Titans just stink at everything else.
I mean, they're not good.
So I want you to think about this.
I'm not saying it's true.
But I just want you to think about it.
When Russell Wilson was dominating the league,
we were absolutely sure.
Hall of Famer, magical, the future of the sport.
Is Jalen Hertz?
Think about this.
The next Russell Wilson.
Oh.
Let me throw some things at you.
Both are undersized, but thick and athletic.
Both had to transfer in college.
Their coaches were like, yeah, I'm going to start somebody else in college.
both throw a nice deep ball, but neither was a first round pick.
Both are playmakers from the pocket, but they're not pocket quarterbacks.
Russell Wilson and Jalen, very successful with stacked rosters when they have a run game and a great defense.
Both two Super Bowls, win one, lose one.
We like their personalities, but neither is beloved by teammates.
I've been told that about Jalen Hertz.
We've seen it with Russell.
And in their Super Bowl winning season, in Russ's and in Jalen,
they threw under 200 yards, Russell seven times, hurts eight.
There's a lot of similarities to the thick, mature, elusive, not great from the pocket.
How many times has Greg CoSell come on this show?
He did it for years with Russell Wilson.
He said Russell Wilson has planned ad-lives.
He's not great from the pocket.
That's why, said Greg CoSell, he often throws the deep ball,
because he's not good in the middle of the field.
What did Greg CoSell say this week about Jalen Hertz?
He doesn't throw the ball well over the middle of the field.
Go listen to Greg CoSell with Russell and his prime and Jalen.
It's the same thing.
It's the same thing.
consistently under 200 yards
when you've got the players.
And I loved Russell
and I'm the defender at all cost
with Jalen Hertz. But, I mean,
now you've got players-only meetings.
A.J. Brown, Jalen Hertz drama.
Russell had teammate drama.
Here was Jalen on his struggles last night.
I want to go out there and play the type of ball.
We know we're capable of.
playing and a lot of that you know for the brand of ball kind of established ourselves to to play it's
been playing with good detail being smarter situations and being able to capitalize on some of these
big point swings in the game and so we got to be a better we got to do a better job at that
and I have to lead better in terms of executing in those situations because that starts with me
in the red zone in two minute operationally oh he's great at the podium
Russell Wilson
Always been great at the podium
mature
You don't like the comms
But by the way
Last week when I suggested
Russell Wilson wouldn't be a Hall of Famer
Pushback
Would you vote in Jalen Hurts to the Hall of Fame?
I mean
Neither's a first round pick
Neither great from the pocket
Neither beloved by teammates
Both get to a couple
Super Bowls
But even in their Super Bowl winning seasons
half the games are under 200 yards
both had drama with some teammates
just I'm not saying it's out there
but it's interesting
is it not kind of interesting
I'm just you know
I'm not saying it with great conviction
I'm saying it with great curiosity
but it's it's kind of interesting
our quarterback whisper
is around the corner
Brady Quinn shows up
We got, I'm telling you, Oregon, Indiana, USC Michigan, just a couple of them.
You didn't think last weekend, remember last weekend college football?
Oh, Penn State, UCLA.
There was about a four-hour stretch last Saturday.
It was crazy.
Florida, Texas, Penn State, UCLA, Washington coming from behind on the East Coast to beat Maryland.
Tomorrow's going to be really interesting.
One more herd?

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling.
calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like
Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius
Randall. And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing. That man,
hell get the flyin. He running up the court,
licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that,
Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game.
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This week on Crimless, we're joined by our first ever guest.
Sorry, our first ever human guest.
I don't think I could be in the same room with Shamrock the pair. I'd be too nervous.
That's right. The very funny, Will Ferrell joins Rory Scovel and me, Josh Dean,
for an episode dedicated to the many crimes committed by people also named Will Ferrell.
They called to his fellow officer for the nippers.
What are the nippers?
Very good question.
No, I was thinking, would that be a good name for like a salad dressing?
Simple assault.
And it's a play on word, salt?
Maybe not.
I say we invest and we see.
There's only one way to know.
This did not amuse the cops.
By the way, normally the cops are amused.
But this did not abuse the cops.
Will even comes clean about some of his own crimes.
I didn't get caught.
You know why?
If you don't want to be suspected of anything, you whistle as you walk.
Listen to crime lists on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Agency, the ability to know that we're the experts in our own body.
On the podcast, cultivating her space, Dr. Dom and Terry Lomax create a space where black women can show up fully and be heard.
I wholeheartedly think, you know, you hit 30.
You shouldn't have to share one with anybody.
Mm-hmm.
from navigating friendships and healing to setting boundaries and prioritizing your mental health.
These are real honest conversations.
We don't always get to have out loud.
Totally unreasonable with different parts of life, right?
Like, oh, have all three meals and make sure you're mindful during all of them?
Absolutely not.
During one meal, I'm standing.
I'm standing and handing my children food.
Because healing, empowerment, and resilience aren't just ideas, their practices.
and this mental health awareness month,
there's no better time to pour back into yourself.
Listen to cultivating her space

Jordan Palmer, former NFL quarterback,
founder of quarterback summit.
It's a program that helps quarterbacks
reach their potential.
He is joining us on a day in which
we think the New York Giants
have found their franchise quarterback.
And Jordan, it could be Bo Nicks,
it could be Josh Allen. It's always turbulent.
This is not a summer flight
to Arizona. It's bumpy.
It's rough. So I watched
Jackson Dart last week, and then I
watch him this week, and I look
at quarterbacks and I go, can he make
throws or make plays
that I'm like, wow,
that's special.
I think I've seen special
with Jackson Dart, not consistent.
What do you see? You're the
master at this. What do you see?
Well, I just like to keep
it's simple and he's two and one and I'm not concerned with who they lost to and who they beat
because you could make the argument man how do you lose to the saints and then you could also make
the same argument go how they beat the Eagles I think he's two and one and he's two and one with
three big obstacles which makes it more impressive one is personnel we we saw last night on the
broadcast all the players that aren't playing at receiver for them right I mean I'm like
Googling these guys names right so the one is you know he's playing with
with a short deck, an empty cabinet, whatever cliche you want to use,
where you got Wondell Robinson's go-to guy.
So that's one.
Two, he's playing on a team that's lost more than they've won.
I'm not calling them losers, but they've lost more than they've won.
This franchise has the last few years.
And so you're not entering into a well-oiled machine
where everyone is accustomed to winning the close game.
Right.
And then three, he's a rookie.
And I've said this on your show before,
and we've talked about this off camera is I think quarterbacks are survivalists and they got to do what they got to do to survive.
And early in guys' careers and there's a connection here to Josh Allen on this too, sometimes you've got to run around and make plays.
I don't think his career he's going to average 50 yards rushing a game, but he has through his first three starts because he's had to.
These aren't designed quarterback runs.
These are plays that he's making.
And so, you know, he's doing all three, he's handling all three of those obstacles well to the tune of two and one.
and the other thing that's overarching on this is that like the elephant in the room,
like he's also doing it in New York where everything's over scrutinized
and a lot of young quarterbacks have a hard time doing that.
So I want to ask you about, listen, there's a lot of smart offensive guys out there
in the league and out of it like yourself.
Kyle Shanahan, I thought Mack Jones, it was done.
I thought his temperament was off.
I had heard things inside the building at New England that were not winning kind of quarterback
traits from people I trust.
And all of a sudden he goes, and he's humble, and he's always thrown a nice ball.
What is, I mean, Kyle obviously is just better than most at this.
Is it the talking, the dialogue, is it, is it mechanics?
Like, what is it about Kyle and quarterbacks that almost always elevates them?
Well, Colin, you're a world-class communicator, right?
And so at some point you learned a lot of how to communicate, right?
So for me, when I was doing more public speaking and getting in front, I used to watch this guy Simon Seneck.
And he has this famous video where it's all about the why, whether you're in sales, whether you're trying to have a take on TV or you're trying to lead a room full of people.
You got to have a take.
His thing was about the why.
And I really took that as a coach.
And the more I can connect why somebody needs to do something as opposed to what to do, the more helpful I've been as a
a coach. And now as I have clients, college and pro and even high school, where the coaches,
I've just come to the conclusion, coaches tell you what to do, but not necessarily why to do it.
And maybe they know why, but they have a hard time explaining it.
I didn't really learn this about Kyle Shanahan, though I've known him a long time.
I have, I interviewed with him when he was the quarterback coach at the Houston Texans when I
was at the Combine. I mean, I've known this guy forever. But until Sam Darnold went there to back up
Brock, who I've spent a lot of time with Sam, and really understood, oh, I think that's what it is
about Kyle Shanahan.
He gets all this love for his play design
and how he uses personnel.
I don't know.
It's subjective.
I don't know if he does that better than everyone.
But I think,
and in learning how Sam's experience
and how much he grew in one year of not starting,
was I think Kyle helps quarterbacks
understand why they are doing this footwork,
why we are going to have this guy outside release
and then cross his face,
why we are going to run this to set that up.
And I just think Kyle's,
why, as it pertains to helping
quarterbacks understand the nuances of the
offense, is why guys go
there and play their best football.
And it's also why, and credit to my
business partner, Mike White, who's a Niner fan
and works with all the guys who would
go back to that draft of Mack Jones
because we had Trevor Lawrence in our group,
Mack Jones and Trey Lance and all that,
which is why Mike from day one has been
saying Mac Jones is a perfect fit
in Kyle Shanahan offense.
Don't worry about what he can't do.
And so he's
he's getting some, you know, some love for that right now.
Because as we've seen through three games with Mac Jones,
it doesn't matter what Mac Jones can't do.
He can do all the things that Kyle requires.
So you never gave up on Sam Darnold.
He and Baker put on a clinic last week.
It was one of the most entertaining games I've seen.
It was, I mean, it was Canadian Football League.
It was just up and down the field.
And you never gave up on Darnold.
I wondered if he could ever get the reckless.
I've always said this. You can coach a lot. Can you get the reckless out of Carson Wentz or Sam Darnold? I didn't know if you could.
Why didn't you give up on Darnold when everybody else did?
Well, if you go back to Sam in high school and college, she was a playmaker, right? And there was some incredible memories from college, you know, Rose Bowl MVP and all that stuff, some high highs.
But I remember going through the draft process with Sam and every GM and owner wanted to talk about the fact that he was a fumbler.
I think he had like 11 his last year at SC.
And then you go through this first couple years in the NFL, and I don't have the stats in front of me, but he was a fumbler.
And it's not that coaches didn't tell him keep two hands on the ball, but even that clip right there, as he's transitioning from right to left going through his front side, you know, he's bought into this idea that movement and being under control can allow you to not take your hand off the ball to get going and running.
And so we're coming up on 20-something games where he hasn't taken his left hand off the ball in a situation where he hasn't, where he shouldn't.
And so that sounds really in the weeds and detailed.
The reason I never give up on him is because he's been focused on a bunch of things like that.
He's willing to get drugged through the mud in New York, be a bust, hear all the things that everybody says about him, and just every off-season reset.
And so I think I've said this to you, Colin, there's certain quarterbacks like Sam, like my brother, where,
because they have the ability to reset every year, regardless if it was terrible or awesome,
because the way they don't cut corners ever, and they do all the little things right,
and their ability to block out all the noise, players like that, and obviously with a lot of talent,
I've been telling them, and I've been telling Sam for about five years now, the same line over and over and over again,
there will be a time and a place where all you have to do is play to the best of your abilities,
and you'll be in every game with a chance to make a run at the end.
Verbatim, and that's what we're seeing here out of Sam and Baker,
right and i know you've had your your your issues with baker over the years i i didn't necessarily
disagree with you but it's when you're winning and it works and it's in the right environment
yeah it's not a problem yeah no i said this cleveland is a rough environment a pulsive owner
kind of a bitter press everybody in cleveland poked baker in the ribs and everybody in tampa
opens doors for him it's more chill he's got a very supportive gm and owner and environment for people
with fiery personalities is key so there's two questions i want to ask you 15-quartered
Now have a hundred plus passer rating, 15.
And it was six, two years ago.
Some of this is, there's a lot of good offensive coaches out there.
Some of it may be we've had very nice warm fall weather.
I mean, even in Buffalo, it's 80 degrees.
Maybe it's that.
Maybe it's because everybody plays zone.
So it's a kind of throw to a spot.
And these guys from seven on seven to coaching, you know, yourself included,
they're just, these guys are good, beaten up zones.
I don't know what it is.
But it's like the golden age.
the quarterback? Is it the coaching? Is it the zone defense? Half the league is a hundred pass
rating. Why? Well, I don't think it's the defense because as I watch tape every week,
there's a bunch of stuff people are running on third down that didn't exist three years ago.
It had continually evolved. So I don't think it's the defense, right? These pass rushers
aren't getting a little skinnier and a little slower. But I think what it is is the quarterback
and the offensive coordinators
ability to manufacture more high percentage throws.
And it sounds simple, right?
Like, let's just get the ball out of your hands
and let your playmakers make plays,
says every coach ever.
We got a big, you know, the Little Bill's third and fourth grade flag
we play tomorrow with my fourth grader.
We're going to operate under the same pretense
of let's get the ball out of our hands and let our guys eat.
But I think it's being on the same page
and the evolution like we've talked about
in high school and college of what quarterbacks are asked to do.
And I think there's more ways
to in with motions and with shifts and with formations
to be able to create more high percentage throws.
So if I can just have a quarterback,
get five more completions a game,
and they average four to eight yards of completion.
You start doing simple math,
that might move your pastor rating up five, six, ten points right there,
and that's if you're not throwing to playmakers.
Yeah.
Okay.
one more pro and then college. Jalen Hertz. Greg CoSell's been saying this. He said it years ago about Russell.
He said Colin, he throws a deep ball, some of it out of necessity. You can see there's times there's stuff open in the middle of the field. He doesn't see it.
And Jalen Hertz similarly, Greg CoSell has said to me, there are times he just doesn't see stuff in the middle. He's very good up the sidelines. Great kid, accurate.
I watched Jalen Hertz, and it does appear that he is better throwing.
outside than the interior where Brady lived or Manning lived.
It kind of makes sense, Jordan, because offensive linemen now are 6-7.
Like, that's what the world has produced.
When you watch Jalen Hertz and the struggles, what do you see?
Well, I just think, and I'm not going to say that has nothing to do with him and his
personal, like his game, but you keep replacing coordinators every year.
because whether, excuse me, whether you're doing that because your team is struggling or because your team's in the Super Bowl every year.
Either way, you start shifting coordinators.
The media and the fans want to make it about scheme.
This guy's a good coordinator.
That guy's a bad coordinator.
But the reality is you don't get that continuity and you can't continue to get to like level four, level five, level six in protections, in routes, in reads, in combinations.
I think one of the most underrated thing in sports that I don't see owners do is say,
we've got a great offensive coordinator.
Let's just pay him like a head coach.
If it's going to cost us a chance to win a Super Bowl and make a run,
let's just drastically overpay him so we don't lose him
and do what we got to do to keep him.
And unfortunately, he had Shane Stuyken and then he had Kellynne Moore.
And I honestly don't know the guy's name right now,
who's the coordinator in Philly.
And I think that's a big portion of it.
And then the second part, and we saw it on that clip right there,
the out route that got picked,
is I still think with Jalen
there's a part of his game
and he's evolved in the simple
the uncontested throws,
the simple movements getting yourself to a same spot.
That's the place where I actually see
accuracy fall off.
And those are like unforced errors
and that's something that can be built over time.
All of his momentum is still going left.
He never gets into his front side.
That ball goes inside.
And that's just what happens.
But this is also a Super Bowl MVP
and a winner and a guy with a unique skill set.
But what you got to do
when you're down, what you've got to do when you have a team like this that's not living up to
its standard on offense is you can't miss those balls down the field, particularly when you've got
guys who are frustrated with their production. One last question. I love Dante more at Oregon.
Cleveland's got two first round picks. Rams have two first round picks. Giants have their quarterback.
There's about four or five teams. I don't know. I watched them at Penn State game and I went,
wow, stoic, calm, accurate, better as the game went.
This is what you do for a living.
You told me years before people talked about many quarterbacks.
They would work.
What do you see with that kid?
This kid's a star.
I think the national media is going to start to, I mean, here you are talking about him, right?
I think you're going to start to learn more about this guy.
So I actually want to use this minute to just help you better understand who he is
and your listeners understand who he is because they're going to watch him play and come up with their opinions.
and honestly he's set up for a Heisman national championship type year.
But I've known him since he was in high school,
went through lead 11 process and all that.
And he was at UCLA,
and I was up there throwing with Burrow and a couple of guys at UCLA when Chip Kelly was there.
And I just got done hanging out with Dante throwing a little bit,
and I was asking Chip about him.
And I said, hey, how's Dante doing and all that?
And he goes, Dante is one of the most appreciative football players I've ever coached.
And I'm like, what do you mean appreciative?
Well, you grew up in a really tough part of Detroit.
And so his teammates and a lot of guys knew that a lot of times at UCLA,
he would just in the middle of the night, just walk around campus late at night.
Because where he grew up, he couldn't do that.
And he was just, he was always talking about how grateful he is at UCLA.
By the way, he's not even playing at this time.
He's just so grateful to be there and be around this and the environment and what they had.
And that was at UCLA.
And so if that's your foundation of like gratitude and humility,
And then we see what we're seeing, and he's, I think, just warming up.
You have a very sustainable athlete.
Because if that's their foundation and they're talented and their clutch,
I mean, his face didn't change once in that game,
then you're set up for success.
And we've seen how productive and efficient these quarterbacks
coming out of Oregon have been from Dylan to Bo to even before that.
And so I actually think the sky's the limit.
I won't be surprised if everybody has them number one on their mocks coming out here soon.
whether or not he leaves, I don't know.
I think he's a big picture guy.
But he's definitely set up for success.
I don't see a repeat of what happened last year
where they win the big one in the season
and then they come up short at the end.
I think it's going to be Oregon here in the mix at the end.
Okay, Jordan founded Thread Performance.
I think I talked about it last time.
Go look it up online.
Thread Performance, Nutrition Company,
helping young players and athletes,
physical, mental potential.
How's it going, by the way, with the company?
It's been a rocket ship.
We just had year one, almost doubled our sales projections, getting amazing emails from moms.
There was nothing on the market for athletes, young athletes that are going through puberty that have developing bodies.
And we built some really clean products.
And we're getting ready to launch our fourth product hydration here in the next two weeks.
Jordan Palmer, one of the smartest people I bring on the show.
And whenever I'm wrong, he'll text me and go, you're wrong, coward.
You're wrong.
And then I'll stop saying what I was saying.
It's great to see you, buddy.
All right, you too. Thanks, man.
Yeah, and his brother, of course, Carson Palmer.
Big game. Friday night, big game.
Santa Margarita.
J-Mack.
Do you hear what he said about Jackson Dart?
Winner!
Think he said that loud and clear.
He's a winner, no doubt about it. Is he a franchise quarterback?
That's a different question, my friend.
J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the Herdline News.
All right, you love a good survey.
Well, the annual NBA GM survey is out, Colin,
and Eric Spolster got 52% of the votes for best head coach, right?
Then they had one about the most impactful acquisition, no surprise.
Kevin Durant, 73%.
Interesting one, if you were starting a franchise today and could sign any player in the NBA.
Yolkich.
Who would it be?
Your number one is Yokic?
The best player, easily in the league.
Easily.
Do you want me to read off the top three?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wembenyama, 83%.
Oh, okay.
SGA 13%.
And then Yokic 3%.
Oh, apparently GMs don't watch their own sport.
Yeah, I mean, this SGA stuff is nonsense.
Like, you're picking SGA over Yokch over Luka?
Wembe is...
That's insane.
That's not only the best NBA player.
There's a gap.
Wait, Yokic, you say?
Or Yokic, excuse me.
When Bimby, by the way, grew another two inches.
He's so mad.
seven five now.
I love Webby.
And I know, I think he's an unbelievable defensive player.
I do worry about his body type.
Yokic is not going to be hurt.
Are you surprised Cooper Flag did not crack the top three?
I would take Cooper Flag over SGA.
I'm sorry.
If I'm starting a franchise?
Well, I'd like to see him play a single NBA game.
I've seen enough in college.
I like Cooper Flagg a lot.
You've seen enough in college.
Did Cooper Flag end up doing something in that?
I bet he's the rookie of the year choice.
Easily.
Yeah, he's an overwhelming favorite.
Do not bet him because it's,
you know.
It's amazing.
People get so caught up in the future.
Yeah.
I've got to get those driving cars.
How about we just figure out Waymo?
Okay?
Before it flies.
Don't you bash Waymo.
And Waymo doesn't fly.
Can you imagine our mothers in flying cars?
What are you doing?
What is this, a Jetsons episode?
Come on.
How about we worry about the tires that are actually hitting pavement?
Everybody's about the future.
Yokic for the next four years will be the best player in the world.
You cross your fingers with Wemby's hell.
I can't disagree with you there.
That's not a bad take, Howard.
All right, let's move on to your L.A. Rams.
Now, listen, defensive end, Jared Verst.
This guy's been an animal, right?
He is a total beast.
He's set to face Lamar Jackson this week.
Oops.
Lamar Jackson is still not 100% and he may not play.
Well, when Verst was asked about it,
here's what he said about not facing Lamar.
I'm curious about it.
I want to play Lamar just because, like,
You know, he's one of the best quarterbacks, you know, like currently.
And then also, you know, you put him in that conversation of not just running quarterbacks for quarterbacks ever.
Like, he's up in that conversation.
Pat Mahomes, Lamar is definitely on there.
I want to get Josh Allen.
He owed me a couple.
But I thought Tom Brady was going to come back.
So I thought I was going to get my shot at him.
But now, there's a couple of dudes in the league.
I definitely got my eye on there.
I want to get at least one time.
I'm not touching this game.
I'm not touching it.
Ravens have too much pride.
Maybe a few of those guys.
are coming back to play. I'm not touching it. Rams will win, but I'm not touching it.
A little chicken over there, huh? You're afraid to touch the Rams?
Last night, you were throwing lettuce. I was, I was not. I did not talk about the bills.
But I wasn't like that's one of my picks. It definitely would not have made my, my picks here,
headlines. Let me ask you, though. He said Lamar Jackson's one of the best quarterbacks
ever. Yeah, he is.
So you think he's already like a top 10 quarterback all time? Is that what we're talking? Ever.
In the history of the league, how many people have played quarterback?
A thousand?
I say a thousand.
If you're top 15, you are absolutely elite.
Now, Lamar might be closer.
Can you beat top 15 without getting to a Super Bowl?
How is that possible?
Dan Marino got to one and he's top five.
He got to a Super Bowl, period.
I mean, I get it.
Lamar's got the MVP.
I'm talking, you're talking resume.
I'm talking talent.
Well, talent is extremely subjective.
Jared Verse might see talent here.
You see it.
When you watch Lamar, do you think a bunch of people go, you know, he's actually slow.
It's not that subjective.
Anybody watch Josh Allen go?
Kind of a weak arm.
It's not that subjective.
It's talent obvious.
Yeah, but people saw Cam Newton as talented.
Cam Newton was talented.
How did that end up?
No, but he was talented.
Never had back to back winning years.
Well, again, he's not Lamar Jackson.
Not consistent.
But he was super talented.
Yeah.
I like these discussions.
I know you don't.
Final story, Colin, is the Bengals traded for Joe Flacco, and he was basically announced as the starter after walking into the building.
Jamar Chase, are you ready for this?
Jamar Chase was asked about his new quarterback.
Here we go.
Everybody knows who he is, you know, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever played.
But it's good getting him out there.
We had some good reps in the day.
Getting a good fill of the offense.
He calls him plays a little fast.
so that was something new just hearing
but he's pretty smooth
you know I mean he knows it ends
it out you know I appreciate
organizations trying to make this work
so you gotta make it work
that's a perfect I like that
you like that at the end
I appreciate the organization
which you bang on more than anybody
trying to make this more
I appreciate when an employee
is supportive of the guys upstairs
Bengals drive me nuts
but I like that's a smart response
Is this supportive or is this man these guys
stink.
You know how I feel about the Bengals?
I've said before.
I want you to pile on more because there's a certain producer here 15 feet away from this.
He complains about the Bengals more than anybody.
Yeah, I'm trying to fire Zach Taylor for two years.
Unlike you and the Jets, he's not delusional.
I'm a realist.
The Jets stink.
Jack Taylor should have been fired two years ago.
You love to fire people.
I do, yeah.
You're fired.
Maybe I'll host a reality show.
I'll fire people and then I'll be the president in like 15 years later.
All right.
I feel sorry for that soccer team you own.
We're having a rough season.
Well, maybe if you were nicer to your employees, you'd have a better season.
J-MAC with a news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
Bring the hook on everybody.
Brady Quinn's going to be joining us.
I saw Brady at Illinois USC game.
Yeah, USC Illinois game.
I'm telling you that USC Michigan game, that is a program definer.
That is a big one for the truck.
Trojans. Michigan can lose that game. They're on the road. They got a freshman quarterback. Michigan, they can lose that game. That's fine. USC can't lose that game. The pressure is on the. Indiana could go to Oregon and they can lose that game.
I called about tickets to this because it's a hot, hot ticket. And they said, you've got a box there. I could probably squeeze in. You can be there? I'm not. I have, I'm watching the game with actually the other side.
You're hanging out of Michigan people? Oh, cowher.
A lot of you people fly over the Midwest.
I committed to it.
Lincoln Riley is not a happy man hearing that.
Oh, boy.
It's the herd.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
First people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast.
could call in and say, hey Jonas, and then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash will get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah.
You figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This week on Crimless, we're joined by our first ever guest.
Sorry.
Our first ever human guest.
I don't think I could be in the same room with Shamrock the parrot.
I'd be too nervous.
That's right.
The very funny Will Ferrell joins Rory Schovel and me, Josh Dean,
for an episode dedicated to the many crimes committed by people also named Will Ferrell.
By the way, normally the cops are amused, but this did not abuse the cops.
Will even comes clean about some of his own crimes.
I didn't get caught.
You know why?
If you don't want to be suspected of anything, you whistle as you walk.

One of the questions is, which quarterback will have the most passing yards this week?
Stafford, Dak, Daniel Jones, or Sammy Darnold?
Colin, who you got? Should be a layup.
Well, I think Stafford against the Ravens is a good spot. I think Darnold against the Jags will be interesting.
Jacksonville has lived off turnover creation, and that will come back down to earth.
I mean, Jacksonville may have a recovery somewhere.
So Jay Mack and I have always disagreed on Brock Purdy.
I think he's fine.
I think it's a lot about Shanahan in the system.
He doesn't have a winning record when he doesn't have Christian McCaffrey,
and the team is better offensively today or as good with Mack Jones.
Jalen Hurtz similarly. I love Jalen Hertz, but I think his intangibles are better than his
tangibles. Is forever I've been hearing about size, doesn't matter for quarterbacks, yeah, it does.
Russell Wilson doesn't throw the ball well over the middle of the field. Either it is Tua,
either does Jalen Hertz. Greg Kosell looks at every snap. Here's what he said about Jalen
Hertz throwing down the middle of the field. One thing Jalen Hertz has never done particularly well,
he's not a window thrower. He doesn't throw the ball between the numbers. And as I said, we were talking
earlier, 15 to 25 yards. In fact, he's got the fewest attempts of any quarterback in the league
throwing the ball between 15 and 25 yards between the numbers. He doesn't see the game that way.
They have to be a running football team. And right now, they're not running the ball at all.
And the O line is hurt. It's banged up and it's not played anywhere near as well as it has the last
three, four years when it was arguably the best in the league.
Wilson, similarly, like Jalen Hertz, had his best years when he had a dominant run game.
So last year, dominant Eagle run game.
Jalen Hertz was very good.
This year, running game struggling, Jalen Hertz not as good.
It's the same with Russell Wilson.
He's never had a great run game.
Didn't have it in Denver, didn't have it in Pittsburgh, didn't have it first couple games without Scataboo in New York.
Scadaboo wasn't starting.
So it's not anti.
But when Greg Kosel comes out in,
tells you, yeah, he's just not, he can't see the field particularly well.
Tua has at least been honest about it.
Tua tells you, yeah, there's some throws I can't see.
So they're, you know, it's like you can be an action star and not be a big, strong physical
actor, but it does help.
You know, James Bond, you know, it helps, you know, Schwarzenegger, big strong physical guy,
Slice Stallone, Vin Diesel, it helps.
If you're kind of physically imposing to be an action star, you probably,
probably don't need to be. I mean, Matt Damon isn't. Jason Bourne was pretty cool, but it can help.
And it's like quarterbacks, six, two and a half and up kind of helps. You can see the field better.
So it's not a knock on anybody. It's just the reality of what we have. So the games this weekend,
the one game I did not put in the Blazing Five that I will probably regret it is Pittsburgh at
home against Cleveland starting, I think, Flacco, or excuse me, that he's in Cincinnati.
starting Dylan Gabriel is I may end up regretting it, but the reason I didn't bet it is because
of last night. Nobody would have guessed the Giants House, the Eagles. I stay away from a lot of
these divisional games, and I know Pittsburgh should win this game, but Mike Tomlin's been a great
underdog coach, but Mike Domlin as a favorite has not been as good. And Dylan Gabriel is the kind of
guy that could come out because is T.J. Watt had a huge year? No, he hasn't. So I look at the Steelers
and I'm like, should the Steelers win? Absolutely. I think the Steelers will win. But if Dylan
Gabriel come out and was kind of like 18 to 26 and it was just, you know, Cleveland's defense is
absolutely legit. Go ask the Packers. Their home road splits are significant. At home, they were great
against the Packers. Then they go to Detroit and they're saying, you know, they can't stop anybody.
Big news, Chador Sanders was just named the backup quarterback, according to seven, Kevin Siffansky.
So Dylan Gabriel is a tweaked ankle on the opening drive away from seeding quarterback to Shadour Sanders.
That game is now must-see TV.
Well, it makes it interesting.
Yeah.
I thought it was going to be Bailey Zappy.
I still think you had one of the funniest zappy lines ever.
Remember Zappi when you were doing like the campaign slogans?
I'll never forget that because it was hilarious.
Don't be crappier.
or we'll see Bailey's happy.
No, but that's the game.
These divisional, right, two weeks ago,
Rams are going to crush the Niners.
Niners had half their starters.
It was in L.A. last night.
Eagles rolling.
I'm telling you.
Cleveland, Cleveland could make this thing ugly.
Dylan Gabriel in Stefansky System could go 18 to 24,
and you look up,
and the Steelers win by a.
field goal late. That's why I, these divisional games are weird.
Then I'll come in shirtless on Monday because I'll be without a shirt. I'll have lost it
gambling on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady Quinn around the corner. The herd.
Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what?
