Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy.
Not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.

Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the
biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris.
She can win.
She's an outsider to win the French fame.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lina Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any service.
Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcasts on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Here we go, hour two.
We are rolling.
Draft is Thursday.
Boy, tonight is an unbelievable NBA playoff night.
Lakers tonight.
Houston in trouble.
Is Katie going to play?
Atlanta roars back and beats the Knicks.
Minnesota giving Yokuch some issues that if Yokuch is struggling or off his game a little,
and Denver's in trouble.
So the draft is Thursday.
Again, in the last decade, and this is hard to do, the NFL is not college sports, where the better you are, the better recruiting class you have.
In the NFL, if you're awful, the league tries to help you out, giving you better draft picks.
And yet the Jets and the Giants in the last decade have the two worst records in the league.
Almost impossible.
Almost impossible.
And when I suggested something this weekend, oh, it was Mett Hood outrage.
Or I said, listen, in the last five drafts, you've drafted one Pro Bowl player, Malik neighbors, and now he's hurt.
In 2019, you had three picks.
One Dexter Lawrence hit.
One was a total bust.
I think he's out of the league for years.
And the other one, Daniel Jones, was an ideal.
So my take on this draft is number five pick.
Just make a statement, best player in the draft.
But with your number 10 pick, either take the Penn State Interior offensive linement or a tackle.
Make it a long term.
This is what Jim Harbaugh did.
I'm taking Joe Alt, not a receiver.
Like, I'm getting a guy that can play left or right tackle.
And the Giants are like, hey, we're good at tackle.
Oh, really?
Okay.
Okay.
Well, I love Andrew Thomas, too.
He's averaging nine and a half starts the last three years.
And I think he's terrific when he's on the field.
So you're right, tackle is going to have to go over and play left.
I would go get Freeling from Georgia, who's an insanely athletic six-seven tackle.
Probably doesn't need to start this year, but by next year you're looking at a big time player.
I mean, athlete can run down the field, like it's a tight end.
That's what I would do.
Or Spencer Fennoe at Utah, who is,
ready to start right now, although you don't need
a starter today, but I would get a third
tackle in the building or the interior
old lineman from Penn State.
But to me, the first pick
and the second pick are different. The first
picks your statement. They'll probably
go get sunny styles.
That's fine.
Good player. Cleanest player, arguably, in the draft.
Second pick, and everybody says,
this is what bad teams do.
Oh, we like the receiver at Arizona State.
hamstring issues, broke a collarbone, torn ACL, played nine games.
If a college receiver gets hurt a lot, what do you think it's going to be like in the more violent NFL?
You've already got a receiver who's hurt.
Who's really good, Malik neighbors?
You want a second?
And I like Jordan Tyson.
But we got some red flags here on the body.
I know about Freeling, the kid at Georgia, against SEC defensive ends, six.
six, seven, three hundred pounds, great feet.
He didn't get hurt a lot.
So here was DJ, Daniel Jeremiah, yesterday on the upcoming Giants draft.
First year, new head coach, I look at your first pick.
I believe it's a statement pick.
I believe this tells everybody not only on the outside, but on the inside.
This is who and what we're about.
Like, this is our guy.
This is what we believe in.
This is a core player.
And this is where we're going to go.
So I love Stileser.
I have been told that don't expect that to happen.
that the Giants aren't going to take styles.
To me, it just makes sense.
That's why I'm wishcasting for that to happen.
But the other thing I would say I've heard there,
and I think this goes to your offensive lineman idea,
which is one of these two picks has to be for Jackson Dart.
And this is interesting.
When Ben Johnson took over the Bears,
his first couple of picks tied end.
They already had Cole Commet.
Wide receiver, Luther Burden.
They already had DJ Moran.
Roma Dunzee. He made those picks big picture to help his quarterback. They didn't need another
wide receiver. They could have lived without another tight end. They actually had, you know,
DJ Moore, Roma Dunzee, they had a running back who's a nice player, Cole Kamat, O'Line had some
talent. What did Ben Johnson do? He went and bought a center. He went and got a great offensive
Guard. He drafted another receiver. He drafted another tight end. He wanted to, I always said,
your quarterback is the Bentley. The O line is insurance for the Bentley. You don't
erect the Bentley and not have insurance. That's what happened to Andrew Luck in Indianapolis.
They didn't protect it. So I, to me, the first pick, go get the best player on the board.
That 10 pick, ideally I'd move down. You may not be able to. But I would get either.
one of the two tackles who were viewed as top 15 picks or the Penn State offensive line.
Interior alignment.
That's what I would do.
I would make the second pick.
Here's the other thing with the Giants.
You're never going to pick five and ten again.
Harbaugh's takeover football teams.
You're going to be in the 21 slot next year.
I think you're going to be a playoff team.
I think you can win your division.
So think big picture, not, hey, this receiver.
Jordan Tyson could be a lot.
a really good player. I watched, you know, I watched a lot of college football. It's a really good
player. Hamstrings, broken collarbone, torn ACL, played nine games. That would scare the
you know what out of me. I'm going to take the 6-7, 320 guy with good feet. That's what I'm
going to, that's why I agreed when Jim Harbaugh took Joe Alt, everybody said, oh, take the
wide receiver. They went and got Trey Harris, I think, later. They went and got, you know,
they've gotten Ladd McConkey out of the first round. Tray Harris out of the first round. You can get
wide receivers. It's hard to get six, seven, three hundred twenty pound guys with great feet who
are going to play. I mean, Trent Williams, for the Niners, has been playing 15 years left tackle.
He's still great. Andrew Whitworth, for the Rams played 16 years. He could have played three more.
Some of these guys, these big body guys, I mean, Trent Williams is still a top three left tackle.
Guys, but in the league a decade and a half. I think didn't he even.
just signed another two-year deal? You can play 17 years minimum. Here's Matt Hasselbeck yesterday on
the Giants under John Harbaugh. When I think about Harbaugh, you know, John Harbaugh and the Ravens,
I think of, you know, they're a top five team just, you know, for the last decade. They're a top
five team in the NFL in terms of a franchise. They don't have the Super Bowl trophies that the Chiefs do,
but they're top five. They're just always in it, always consistent. And I think if you take that kind of
same approach for who you're going to be drafting, I don't know that you need to be all that
position specific if you are adding just top tier blue chip talent. And that's what you have the
opportunity to do when you pick at the top 10. So they did a study and I apologize because I forget
who did the study, but it was really tremendous. They went 20 years in the draft and they looked at
the number one position that busts wide receiver. It's an ego business. It's an ego business.
position, you draft them in the first round, boy, you've really fed the ego. The positions that
don't bust are like interior alignment. You know how good you have to be, Quentin Nelson,
to get drafted around the top 12 as an interior old lineman. Nobody wants to draft an interior
old lineman with a first round pick. I mean, nobody wants to do that. You get drafted like a
Quentin Nelson, you get drafted like a Creed Humphrey, you get drafted in the first round,
a guard or a center, you're a rock star. You are deadlifting 650. You're bench pressing McIntyre
45 times at the combine. Receivers. Well, I can remember, I've seen receivers. This is a prime example.
Years and years ago, the Jets drafted, I think it was a first round pick, Stephen Hill, the receiver
for the Jets. Second round, my bad. And I remember thinking, man, that guy's big and fast. And you
You watched about two games and you're like, oh, that's not going to work.
I mean, I love Tom Telesco, Quentin Johnson, who actually played well last year.
He had a major drop issue, a confidence issue.
I'm telling you, that second pick for the Giants, go to the line.
That's going to be a 12-year stud.
And with that 10-year anniversary yesterday at FS1, Nick Wright is now joining us.
And boy, he has had many looks.
Many looks over 10 years.
He is a bon vivant.
He's got kind of a European poker star look now.
Very nice of you.
Congratulations, my friend.
We were talking about the Giants.
I think John Harbaugh was creating a culture.
And he's like, hey, I'm not starting this thing being held hostage by a defensive tackle that had relative to his career in offseason.
I like the Giants.
I know it's not a great draft, but I kind of like what they did with Dexter Lawrence.
You?
Listen, I think it is, without a doubt, one of the biggest trade steals in the last decade.
I think Dexter Lawrence is a very good player.
He had a down year, hurt his elbow the year before.
I still think he is a top five defensive tackle in the league.
And when healthy, a top three, maybe top two defensive tackle in the league.
But, Colin, this century, one non-quarterback has been traded for a guaranteed
top 10 pick.
Randy Moss to the Raiders.
That's it.
When I heard the Giants were getting the 10th pick for Dexter Lawrence,
I thought they were sending back,
I thought they were sending Dexter Lawrence and the 37th pick to get the 10th pick.
I did not, I thought a fair, you're in Chicago.
I thought the Bears trading the 25th pick for Dexter Lawrence was about what.
the market would be, a late first rounder, similar to what the chiefs got for Trent McDuffie,
what the Dolphins got for Jalen Wattle.
To get the 10th pick of the draft for Dexter Lawrence is a great, even though he's a very
good player, a third contract player.
Yeah.
Great job by John Harbaugh.
And on Cincinnati's side, this is why bad franchises, stay bad franchises.
Panic, short-sighted moves.
Yes, that will, this, he will help.
them more than whoever they draft would have drafted at 10 next year, but it's not a long-term
move.
Okay, so I said this yesterday, and Daniel Jeremiah said the same thing.
If you're the Rams of the Chiefs, you're never going to draft in this position again.
It's like going to Disneyland, and you may never go again, and you're like, well, I'm going to
ride the roller coaster.
I'm not coming to Disneyland.
It may be the only time.
I don't live in Anaheim.
This may be the only time I ever come to it.
So I said yesterday, I'm the Chiefs.
I have three to four issues.
Running back, check, solved it.
Cornerback, there's a ton in the second round.
A ton of good corners in the second round.
Also, right tackle, but you did acquire a player from the Niners who in-house you may think can do it.
Okay.
So my take is your other issue, and it's a real thing in a division with Herbert twice a year,
Bo Nix, now Fernando Mendoza, AFC is the quarterback conference.
move up, call the Jets, both our first round picks,
we'll take the best pure edge rusher.
So I have solved running back.
Because this team has depth.
They lack a little star power that the Rams and the Seahawks,
maybe the Eagles have.
I don't think that's crazy.
Brett Veets saying we are going to be the one team that moves up
and gets a star edge rusher.
Am I nuts?
Listen, I don't think you're crazy
and you and I, where you and I are totally aligned.
is what the chiefs need to come out of that top 10 with is a pass rusher.
I hear all the folks saying, oh, they might go offensive linemen.
They have a first round picket left tackle, a second round picket left guard,
the highest paid center, the second highest paid right guard.
Right tackle is a bit in flux, but like you said,
they have Jalen Moore who they signed from San Francisco.
You can't spend five premium assets on all five spots on the offensive line.
So there's that. Wide receiver might be a need because of Xavier Worthy's health and Rishi
Rice is off the field issues, but it also might not be a need. Pass rusher is a definitive
got to have it need. Now, I wouldn't trade up prematurely. I would wait and see how the draft
is falling and to see is Rubin Bain going to be there. Obviously, you're talking about David
Bailey is like the ideal guy.
but I think the Chief's taking an impact front seven defensive player when you don't ever expect to draft at 9 again in Mahomes' career is what they've got to do.
And I would imagine what they hope to do.
Okay.
So I said every team in the play of the 16 playoff teams, they're three levels.
They're either great.
That's one team OKC.
if Boston wins a second title, maybe we can put them in there.
But O.KC's defense is historically good.
Their depth is historically good.
Their GM's the best arguably in the sport.
They have one of the great scores ever, right?
So that's a great team.
Everybody else is very good.
I would say Boston.
I would say San Antonio until proven otherwise.
Very good.
The Knicks are good.
They have great halves.
They have great quarters.
They're good.
I also said with Jalen Brunson, people say he's a star.
No, no, no, no.
There's a difference between weaknesses and flaws.
LeBron can have a bad shooting series.
He can work on it.
You can work on weaknesses.
Flaws are small, not hyper athletic.
I mean, to be honest with you, if you kind of look at him,
he's a second round pick out of Bill and over for reason.
Like there are flaws, and then there are stars often have Yokish may have a weakness.
Jalen's got flaws.
You can't be a great player with multiple flaws.
He's a very good player on a good team.
Nick fans think it's a very good team and he's a great player.
And then my takeaway is that's how you get disappointed as a fan when you have unrealistic expectations.
How wrong am I?
I don't look.
Wrong isn't the word I would use.
Harsh maybe.
Listen, I don't think.
I think that can you win a title with Jalen Brunson as your best player?
Can you?
Yes.
Does everything have to be perfect and do things need to fall exactly right?
Probably.
Now, they tried to build the exact team out that you would have to build with Jail as your best player.
These long athletic switchable wings, another scorer in towns, all of that.
And I respect that.
And however, they built a team.
to beat Boston that, to its credit last year, even if Tatum hadn't gotten hurt, they beat Boston
and they were going to win that series, even if Tadem didn't get hurt. But they also are
susceptible to what we saw last night, which last night was an egregious loss. That was so much
worse than what happened with Denver. Denver had a big lead early. It was tied at halftime,
then it's back and forth. The Knicks are in total control the whole game and then give it away.
And Jalen, who I do think is one of the dozen best players in this league.
I do that.
So that's why I think you're short-changing him a bit.
Jalen can't be going 10 for 26 in playoff games you have control of.
Like that's, you can't have in the second half of this game, I think it was 13 shots and one assist.
That's not going to play.
And the, I thought there's going to be a close series.
I pick Nixon 7, with my analysis being, at the end of these close games, one team has Jalen Brunson,
the other team is C.J. McCollum. And with respect to C.J., I tilted that heavily towards Jalen.
Last night, C.J. McCollum reminded everyone, he's been in the league 13 years.
11 of those years, he's been in the playoffs, and he is in 70 career playoff games, 20 points per game in the postseason,
which is like he's a real game.
guy, and he had an awesome, awesome moment last night.
Okay, so Nick is saying I'm being harsh.
So here comes the soft, Colin.
Oh, great.
Is that I, this doesn't come out much.
I feel terrible for KD, who doesn't believe in load management, who plays hurt often,
who played 78 games, they didn't have a point guard in Houston.
Second in the league in minutes.
37 years old.
Incredible.
Second in the league in minutes.
Unbelievable.
But if he misses tonight, that is the,
argument for, well, this is why guys load managed. So you're ready for the postseason.
And I feel terrible because you can see how much it pains him. You know this is crushing him.
If he can't play in this series, is it not? What's Snape-Rle?
I mean, except they say you just bang knees in practice. But I'm glad you bring this up because
I want to take you to task on something. Because you, like many people, when I was saying,
hey, the Lakers have a shot.
Don't write them off.
They're minus 900's too much,
and you are already doing your trade machine.
Where are we sending LeBron?
Who fits with Luca doing the whole thing?
What you and everyone said to me,
yeah, LeBron's great, we get it.
But of the six best players in the series,
the Rockets have five,
to which I say, okay, so without KD,
the Rocket should still be fine.
Well, of the five best players in the series,
series. By your guy's math, the Rockets have four. So a 41-year-old year 23 LeBron shouldn't be able to
give him so much trouble, except of course he can't. Because what we have learned is ancient
LeBron has regressed into prime Chris Paul. Ancient LeBron, all he is now is the point god with a little
dash of Magic Johnson. And the way LeBron controlled every aspect of that game does
make me feel like, man, even if KD comes back, the Rockets could be in trouble. And I'll give you
a fun little stat, Colin. LeBron in his career, 31 times has won game one of a series.
They are 29 and 2 in those 31 series. The last one he lost was 15 years ago. And LeBron
in his career, 32 times, has gone up either 2-0 or 3-1, gone up two games in a series.
They're 32 and O, which means if the Rockets lose tonight, it's over.
The Lakers will be advancing if they win tonight.
And then, oh, my goodness, Luke and Austin back, someone to come end our long national nightmare of the OKC floppers in their title reign?
Oh, my.
I can't wait for it.
I will say, first of all, I'm working on peanut brittle and red.
Bowl today. I watched both games.
I will, by the way,
NBA, unless you out live on the West Coast,
NBA, do me a favor. Oh, yeah, this is fine,
listen, you love Chicago, you love riding
the train, but now all of a sudden
games aren't over at 11 o'clock. I'm
on the East Coast. The Laker game tonight,
Colin, tips,
1042 Eastern.
Tips, 1042.
Hey, he's going to be on until 2
in the morning. But go ahead, as you were, sorry.
Well, I mean, you know, you're a late
night guy anywhere. Anyway, that's true.
They'll have it on in the card room.
I mean, that is true.
It'll be on that.
Congratulations.
I mean, you've got more.
I mean, you've had more looks and hairstyle changes than Lady Gaga, but I love you
to death and you're fantastic.
I appreciate it.
And you have to verify, Colin, as a character witness, that, because you've been with me
every step of the way, there wasn't any flight to turkey and all of a sudden new hair.
This was a grad. I had a shaved head look because I liked it. I might go back to it one day.
And then I decided to grow my hair out. The two biggest scurrilous accusations I get. One is people think I'm very short. I happen not to be. And the other one is I have fake hair. It's not true. Plenty of things to make fun of right here. That's fair game. The hair's real, though. See you, buddy.
And you are as well authentic. Nick Wright, first things first. Great show is after us.
Yeah, the 10 years is, that's a run.
Is that how long our show's been hanging out here to 10 years?
We've been on, because if he's been here 10, that means I've been here 10.
11?

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news,
huge news?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Good NBA night tonight.
This is one of my favorite weeks of the year.
I know it's only the first round, but everybody's fired up for NBA playoffs.
You've got the draft coming up.
Got all sorts of rumors out there.
Very, very fun week.
And here is J. Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Let's start with the Minnesota Vikings who have a new quarterback.
Yeah.
And his name is Kyler Murray.
He's a Colin Cowherd guy.
For sure, I'm in the J.J. McCarthy camp.
But interestingly, McCarthy was really on the struggle bus last year.
So they bring in Kyler Murray.
And now Justin Jefferson talked to the media yesterday about what his reaction was when
Kyler Murray joined the team.
Definitely looking forward to his speed, his quickness, his arm strength that he's shown countless times over the years.
And then it's just, you know, for JJ, for somebody to enter that room with that type of ability, that type of talent, you know, he's got to step it up a little bit.
So it's good for him to, you know, fill that type of pressure and to really, you know, lock in a little bit and say it's either now or, you know, I'm going to take that backseat again.
So it's all a competitive mindset when it comes to these type of things.
So it's all about who's ready for that moment.
Very interesting.
How's so?
Well, when people dance around stuff, you know, don't you feel this whole thing has been a little bit of, you know, everything's qualified.
I mean, we like JJ, but, I mean, now it's the time, like, you dance around stuff.
The more honest, they always say, if you're honest, you don't need a memory.
Yeah, just like, oh, this is what happened to me yesterday.
You don't need a memory if you're honest.
I just always feel like with J.J. McCarthy, it's just a lot of dancing around.
There's been Aaron Rumors and Darnold was there and Kyler's there and Wenz and Daniel Jones.
There's a reason you got all this smoke and all these rumors and all these quarterbacks around the franchise.
They're seeing stuff inside the building and they're not happy with it.
Interesting.
I like the phrase dancing around
because that's all Kyler Murray does in Arizona
dance in the pocket.
Colin, we're killing McCarthy for a 10-game sample size.
We got how many years of years of Kyla Murray?
By the way, they gave me his record here.
He's only 8, I'm sorry, 10 games under 500 for his career,
38, 48, and 1.
And I know quarterback records don't mean anything.
Go ahead, you can look at the stats.
I mean, honestly, when I hear Kyler Marie,
a question, a legitimate question for a guy.
guy who was an accomplished high school player, one of the best in Texas history.
Can you use the B word with Kyla Maria?
Has he been a bust in his NFL career?
No, no, no, no.
He has one playoff appearance.
He was terrible in that game.
Now remember, that's one playoff appearance in a division with Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVeigh for a poorly run franchise.
So that's not one playoff appearance for the Eagles or the Ravens or the Packers.
It's like one playoff appearance.
That's about what you're going to get.
I don't know no no I think he's really talented I don't think he's going to be as good as
Darnold was in Minnesota because I think Darnold is more built for that offense but I think he's
going to have success they may finish in fourth place but I think they're going to be one of those
eight nine teams that they're going to you know they're going to knock
Green Bay is going to get like knocked out of a playoff position they're going to be a pain in the
butt they'll be one of those like I think the Raiders this year with Mendoza are going to finish
fourth but they're going to beat the charge of
in a big game in November.
They're going to beat the Chiefs.
You know, we got the bottom of the NFL,
there's some real stinkers.
Jets, Giants, Cleveland.
I think Minnesota and the Raiders
are going to be fourth place teams
that have, over the course of the season,
two or three wins where you're like,
are they good?
They won't be over the season,
but I think Kyler's pretty talented guy.
There's a lot there.
Now, I know you are on a little bit
sleep and you're probably popping neurogum
left and right. I'm trying to catch you napping here,
Cowherd. You notoriously
do not like small quarterbacks. You bagel
my guy, Jalen Hertz. Why are you in love
with Kyla Murray? What's going on here?
I think he has a couple magical traits.
What are those? He throws a great
deep ball. The guy has no
playoff wins. Jalen Hurts has lacked
him in his career. You always
look at the final result.
You don't contextualize. Philadelphia's
got a stacked roster. Arizona's a hazmat
spill. You don't, you don't
consider that stuff. I don't go to the end
game. My take is, well,
Sam Darnold, Jet, Sam Darnold Seahawks.
It's funny. Disaster
hoisting a trophy.
What's alongside you?
Nobody in this league, including Mahalm,
Mahomes has been blown out twice in Super Bowls when he couldn't get
pass protection. What is around you? Arizona's a mess.
Kyler's got talent.
So you're the GM of an NFL team tomorrow,
and they say, Kyle, we've got two choices for the next
three years. Jalen Hertz or Kyler
Murray? The contracts are equal.
Well, I would take Jalen Hertz.
Okay.
Have me nervous here for a second, buddy.
All right, let's go, let's move on to the Philadelphia Eagles, but not Jalen Hertz.
Colin, if you remember yesterday, I was floating some Miles Garrett stuff to you, and you were really not buying it.
It was Monday.
Well, there's a report from Adam Schifter that the league is catching whispers that Howie Roesman is cooking up something.
The Eagles have eight picks in this draft.
A.J. Brown, we assume, is going to be gone June 1. So it's not going to be involving A.J. Brown.
Well, eight players out of this draft can't make the Eagles. You're better off with five picks because eight guys cannot make the Eagles roster.
Eight guys can't make the Seahawks roster, the Rams roster. So there's no value in having eight picks for the Eagles.
You might as well move up and draft four or five players.
Interesting. So one of the reasons I think you'd like me, I got a 10-year anniversary coming up here as well this summer.
We'll celebrate it, I'm sure, with bells and whistles.
Colin, you like that I could see around corners.
I do.
I'm telling you, man, there is something going on with Miles Garrett.
He restructured his contract.
They were like, oh, no, that doesn't, and nothing about a trade.
And now this Howie Rocheman stuff, they lost Jalen Phillips, their big ed rusher.
He's in Carolina now.
They're going to be moving off A.J. Brown.
I want the Chiefs and the Eagles to take big swings.
And by the way, again, Philadelphia does not have.
eight spots for you to make the roster.
They got about five.
Right? So for me, there are certain times,
like the Seahawks, they'd
like to get more picks because they have some contracts
coming up. They had to let go of a couple of guys this
year like Kenneth Walker. So generally
if you have a very, very deep roster, you kind of look and say,
who do I have to pay? But a lot of the guys
that the Eagles have to pay, AJ Brown,
they're going to move, he's expensive.
They're not letting go with Jalen Carter.
They're not letting go with their top offensive linemen.
They're not letting go of Seekwan Barclay.
they may move off Jalen Hertz eventually.
So it's that game about we're really good.
We want to keep some of these draft picks for within the year if we have to move off people,
but also we're Philadelphia.
We hoist trophies.
We need another special player.
So I think Philly and the Chiefs both are thinking, you know, we want to go get something special.
Kansas City's never going to draft this high again with Mahomes.
why not take a swing and go get Bailey?
Yeah, and by the way, if the Eagles have A.J. Brown going out June 1st,
and they have next year first round picks coming in,
don't be surprised if they package 26 picks and 2007
to go get a superstar like Miles Garrett.
I'm only using him because there really are no other major stars defensively
that are on the market.
Final story, Colin is to the NBA,
where Steve Kerr gave that big send-off with Draymond and Curry,
embrace them after the play-in-law.
and it seems like he's leaving.
There's another report coming out literally in the last three minutes
from the Bay Area that all signs are pointing to Steve Kerr being done.
But the interesting angle we're taken here is the name they're allegedly looking at
is Todd Golden from the Florida Gators.
Well, apparently he has a relationship with LACA.
Yes.
I was surprised on that too.
Yeah, that's surprising.
I don't know if that's people just connecting dots.
definitely seems like an outside the box higher.
Todd Golden is in a great spot.
One of his best players just decided today he's returning.
Hoff, the big guy.
They're going to be stacked next year.
But do you, let me ask this, Colin.
Is the Golden State Warriors head coaching job an attractive one at this juncture
with old Curry, old Draymond, not a ton of young guys in the pipeline,
not a lot of picks?
I don't know that I would leave.
I know that's going to sound crazy.
I don't know that I would leave the Florida Gators.
and NIL era to go coach a fading dynasty,
as Kirk called it, like two weeks ago.
Yeah, that's a really good question.
I mean, the Warriors have a great owner and Steph Curry,
but if Steve Kerr's like Seacrest out,
that's a pretty good indication.
They don't, I think, again, I said this years ago,
fall in like with your players,
fall in love with your family,
you're in a situation now.
I mean, if I told you Golden State
Curleys and they don't make the playoffs for four years,
that would not be revelatory.
You'd be like, yeah, that's very, very possible
because Denver's going nowhere, Minnesota's going nowhere,
San Antonio's going nowhere.
Lakers have now some cap space
and have, you know, Luca Austin Reeves,
we don't know what LeBron's going.
You start looking at the West, you're like,
uh, thank God the clippers underachieve.
You know, outside of that,
Dallas is going to get,
better Cooper flag is going to get somebody.
Remember Bob Myers when he stepped down?
It was like, whoa, why would he leave such a great franchise?
He could see the iceberg was straight ahead.
And he's like, I got to get off this thing.
I don't know that this would be a smart move for Todd Golden, but we'll see.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd Lie News.
You know, most, it's fun, what I think is fascinating about the draft, Steve Kime last hour,
is that it's not a great draft.
There's a couple of great prospects.
But it is interesting.
Like if you are Kansas City and you're like,
we're never going to be up here.
We're never going to be up here.
Now, they could get Caleb Downs fall to him
or Delane the corner from LSU could fall to them.
No question.
And the general consensus is move back.
But if you start looking,
if I'm Kansas City and Brett Veach,
I have three huge issues.
Corner, edge, and running back.
I solve running back with Kenneth Walker.
Why not move up and get Bailey?
Give both your first move up, get Bailey.
If I can keep my second, second round is chock full of corners.
And then I can sell, I can literally edge running back corner, all solved.
Now you say right, tackle.
Again, not ideal.
I think they should take a tackle too.
but their feeling is, you know, we like our left tackle, we love our center.
Trey Smith has been great.
Their argument is we got a guy, we got Jalen Moore from the Niners, he's serviceable,
he's an upgrade.
But, I mean, I think if I was Kansas City, if I could two first rounders for one,
it's not a great draft.
I think if I was the Jets, I mean, I would consider getting a number one.
I don't know.
I mean, can you imagine the Jets move down?
And then the Jets would have, let's see,
one, two, oh, three, number ones.
I mean, that's how you rebuild.
You may not love your coach.
Because the Jets have what, the two and the, is it 16?
Yeah, what, two, 16 and all of a sudden you'd have,
now you'd have the 10, and then you have 16,
and then you have that, yeah, you have another one.
It's kind of interesting here all of a sudden.
J-Mack's smiling.
It's like, oh, all right.
Now I can go get at 10 if I'm the Jets.
I take Kansas.
Oh, Caleb Downs falls to me.
Aaron Glenn would like that.
And then all of a sudden at 16, it's like, well, I got another first round pick.
I'll take Ty Simpson.
What do I care?
Now, at the end of this draft, oh, I can go get a wide receiver.
Three first round picks.
That's how bad gets better.
Just thinking out loud.

We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name?
Hey Jonas, guys.
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

it's it's the the rocket's lakers series is now fascinating let's say kd doesn't play tonight
And the Lakers take a 2-0 league.
Because they don't have a point guard because a Fred Van Vliet got hurt.
They didn't replace him.
So their offense is wonky to begin with.
With no KD, you just Schengun has to score 36.
A men, Thompson's better athlete than a great score.
So they are already struggling offensively, a bit of a mess.
No KD. Lakers go up 2-0.
Well, then KD., you presume plays as it goes, you know, to Houston.
You presume he comes back.
But then Luca, I mean, if it, the tonight's game is the biggest.
it feels like in years for the Lakers, if they can give an incredibly intense, committed effort
on the defensive side of the floor and Katie doesn't play, now people often say, well, they won,
but Katie wasn't healthy. Who cares? You'd rather beat him with Katie on the floor. Not me.
I'd rather if I was a Laker fan, Katie not play. Less KD happier I'd be if I was a Laker fan.
Although as a basketball fan, I'd like to see him play. And I think Houston wins if he returns tonight
for the rest of the series.
But if he doesn't and the Lakers go up 2-0,
and it won't be easy because they played a nearly perfect game in game one.
Luke Knorrh, it's probably not going to shoot like that again.
What was he, five-for-five on threes?
It's probably going to go, it's probably not going to shoot 100% on threes.
So if Katie doesn't play, you go up 2-0, now you're like, well, minimum it's going 6.
So I'm getting, at least I'm getting Luca back in 6.
and it gets really interesting.
I know I'm not conspiracy theory guy.
I don't believe in them.
But I mean, privately, if you're the NBA,
could KD sit out for just one more game?
What you want is this to go minimum six.
That's what you want.
Because then Luca, you know, that's like seven, eight days.
Luca's in his prime athletically.
You'll probably get Luca back in game six.
then KD's back for game three.
Luca comes back game six.
Now you're going to have a great game six and a game seven.
We thought this series was going to be a stinker.
Can you imagine Luca coming back in game six with LeBron?
Canard's hot.
Aiton's focused.
That gets really interesting.
Here's Nick Wright earlier on LeBron at his age carrying the Lakers to a game one win.
A 41-year-old year,
23 LeBron shouldn't be able to give him so much trouble, except of course he can.
Because what we have learned is ancient LeBron has regressed into prime Chris Paul.
Ancient LeBron, all he is now is the point god with a little dash of Magic Johnson.
And the way LeBron controlled every aspect of that game does make me feel like, man,
even if KD comes back, the Rockets could be in trouble.
Interesting.
Remember that OKC game where Luca got hurt and Austin Reeves got hurt?
And so by the very next game, LeBron's like, oh, I got to play a point.
Since that game, LeBron leads the NBA in assists at 11.4 a game.
So it's what Nick is saying is like,
He's basically play point, direct traffic.
I think I was more impressed with LeBron's defensive effort.
I thought he played.
He and Marcus Smart, I thought were just outstanding.
LeBron could score, if LeBron played that he was 47, he could score in the NBA.
He may not score 20, he may score eight, but he could score forever.
Like, quarterbacks can be 50 and still spin it.
The legs go.
But for LeBron to play that level of defense, and you could see it five minutes into the game,
They're like, oh, this is intentional.
This is, because I think the Lakers have a coaching edge, sure looked like it in game one.
Unbelievable.
This was going to be just a, this series was going to be a dog with fleas.
If Katie doesn't play in the Lakers win, the end of this series, you're going to have Luca appearing.
Door number two, Kevin Durant back, Schengoon, Amman Thompson, Luca, LeBron,
that would be wild.
Austin Reeves is not planning this series,
but he would come back to the oblique injury
for the next series.
Sometimes in life things work out.
