Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Here we go.
It's our two.
It's a Thursday.
Greg CoSell, less than five minutes away.
Live in Los Angeles, it's the herd wherever you may be and however you may be listening.
Thanks so much for making us part of your day.
A lot of choices we always appreciate it.
I certainly do.
So does J. Mack.
Again, Greg CoSell in a couple of minutes.
He's got really interesting breakdowns from Baker to Daniel Jones, Sam Halen, the commanders, Lamar Jackson.
So J-MAC, tonight, the Niners.
So this is why the NFL's fascinating.
So the Giants are missing their great left tackle,
their best player on offense,
Sequin Barclay and Andrew Thomas.
They're both out.
It's their third game in a short period.
The Niners get a home opener finally.
The Niners have a much better roster.
In college, this would feel like a 30-point game.
It'd be like, oh, how are they going to move the ball?
The line's 10 and a half.
Where would you go with this?
I've already gone someone.
more with it. San Francisco.
All over the Niners. Yeah, yeah. I think they're going to blow them out.
Did you see Evan Neal, the guy we talked about in the offseason?
Yeah. So pro football focus has him graded out as 70th of 71
tackles in the league. He's going up against Bosa tonight.
Probably not a good story for the Giants offense. And no Sequin Barclay to bail out Daniel
Jones. And it's, haven't they played the third game in how many days?
Third game in like 12 days. Like that's a, that's, they're all beat up.
Yeah, Giants, they're a bit of a mass unit. I just, I don't know. I mean, your guy
Matt Breda, maybe he's the bell cow tonight. Yesterday you defended him staunchly.
Well, and the Niners also believe they didn't play particularly well on the defensive side against the Rams.
So their defense has been sitting there stewing for the last several days being told,
Pukua ran up and down the field on you guys, wide open, couldn't cover two, two out well.
All the makings of just a complete utter domination tonight by the Niners.
Does that mean you're taking the Giants?
It means I'm staying away. I don't like big numbers.
The Chicago Kansas City game is the one.
Kansas City, whenever a really good team with young players is getting better Kansas City,
young defense, young receivers, they're getting better.
They play like crap and win on the road.
They come home and they get a limping Chicago team.
I don't predict blowouts in the NFL.
I could see Kansas City because they haven't put it together yet.
But that defense against Justin Fields, like I could see them throwing a shutout.
There is a game I just noticed as a.
really good sandwich spot this week.
Tough opponent last week.
Tough opponent next week.
This week's a big spread,
non-divisional.
Should I give it out or save it for final?
No, why don't you give it out?
Baltimore Ravens versus the Colts.
No Anthony Richardson.
He's still in concussion protocol.
If you're the Ravens, you've got a lot of injuries.
By the way, Odell Beckham now did not practice.
Bengals last week.
Brown's next week.
Sandwich game.
After that.
Colts coming in.
Oh, we've got injuries.
Let's just power down.
Let Lamar carry us.
a 2017 win and the Colts cover the spread.
Interesting. Greg CoSell, 44 years NFL films,
our NFL Meat Sandwich, live.
So I will say this, the Giants game was two games.
First half, second half.
So they had to a bit, because Daniel Jones went way over the top early.
What did you see with Daniel Jones?
You're higher on him than many.
You said something once I thought was smart.
You're like he's a bigger, stronger, Alex Smith.
and I like Alex Smith.
So if I embrace that comp, I'm like, okay, I'm too hard on him.
Did you see something against Arizona you liked or didn't like?
Well, first of all, he's a better thrower than Alex Smith.
But in the second half, they made a little bit of an adjustment.
They came out in the second half and they played with more two tight end sets.
And don't forget, Jonathan Gannon is the head coach of Arizona.
Now, whether he calls the defense is irrelevant, it's probably his defense.
And actually, I believe their coordinator also came from Philadelphia.
So I guarantee Brian Daibble knew what they were going to get from a coverage standpoint when they went to 12 personnel.
And then they also started to use more emotion.
And that created cleaner, more defined passing opportunities for Jones, who actually throws the ball extremely well.
They started the third quarter with that bomb to Jalen Hyatt, and they knew exactly what they were going to get from a coverage standpoint.
point, it turned out to be cover four quarters, and it ended up with Hyatt one-on-one on
on Marco Wilson, and he ran right by him.
But Jones threw the ball really well, a lot of defined, clear throws, and they were
able to come back.
Okay, so I'm going to be Colin optimistic, Colin.
So first half Russell Wilson on script has been excellent.
Over 80% completion percentage.
Second half Russ bad, but I could argue.
It's a lot of new moving pieces on the O line to new coach, new culture.
The scripted stuff is working.
But when they got to add lib, which takes cohesion, chemistry, they're not very good.
That's the positive, Colin, that they got the scripted stuff down.
Now they've got to take the next step, which is the cohesion on the offensive front, which
hasn't been great.
What does the film say about Sean Payton and Russell in the offense?
I would say that the film tells me that Russell Wilson is not playing very well.
He continues to have a strong tendency to leave a lot of throws on the field that are there to be made, Colin.
I can't tell you how many times when you watch him on tape that he hits his back foot doesn't even plant it and immediately breaks down.
There's really little pocket nuance and precision to his game.
There's just too many plays that are there and he either doesn't see it.
doesn't throw the ball.
You know, late in that game,
before the drive that ended with a field goal,
which was the second to final drive,
not the Hell Mary,
he missed two touchdowns.
One because he just didn't turn it loose,
and the second because he made a really bad throw.
He's not been particularly accurate.
He's not playing particularly good football right now
within the context of the offense.
And that's what the tape shows through two games.
Okay, that's not great if you're a Bronco fan.
I will say this about the commanders.
Every year there's a team, and we look up and we go about Thanksgiving, that's a pretty good team.
Commanders have a good defensive front, a coach that's been to a Super Bowl, two receivers I like, a good back.
And Sam Howell, I thought, has the, I've said, he reminds me of a less talented baker.
Good enough arm, can make sideline throws, not super athletic, but has movement.
Is it possible Sam Hal is just a little?
We've seen a lot of Dach Prescott's drafted third, fourth round.
Russell Wilson, is Sam Hal better than we think?
Well, Sam Hal has a couple of things that are better than Baker.
Two things in particular.
He is more mobile than Baker.
He can make plays with his legs.
He won't make a living in the NFL doing that, but he can do it.
The other thing where he is better than Baker, by the way, is he's much stronger in the pocket.
He is willing to stand and deliver in the face of pressure.
He doesn't flinch, Colin.
He maintains his base.
He steps toward his target, and he delivers the football.
And he's an over-the-top thrower.
You don't see that too often these days.
Most quarterbacks are more three-quarter.
Think of baseball pitchers.
He's much more of an overhand delivery kind of thrower, and that really helps him.
I'm not making an apples-to-apples comparison in terms of talent or career,
but Drew Breeze was like that.
Drew Breeze was kind of an over-the-top thrower, and Howell is like that,
and that really helps them being six feet.
Yeah, no, I mean, I watch Washington, and I said that's before this season,
is that I like a lot of their players.
I like their skill players.
I like their pass rush.
If how can play, this could be the team that wins nine, ten games, and we look up
and last year the Giants surprised us.
This year it could be the commanders.
They've got some really nice personnel.
Now, Baltimore doesn't surprise me ever.
It's well run.
Lamar's numbers in the pocket.
he's got Todd Munkin's offense.
Well, the early indications based on just the data and the numbers is he's completing
a very high percentage of his throws.
Is there anything you see?
I mean, obviously, he's playing pretty well.
What do you see that you like with a new offense?
I really like the way Lamar is playing.
This past week, very controlled, very calculated, methodical, efficient.
How many times, Colin, can we talk about a Lamar Jackson game in which the siding
and determining factor was not him running around making his.
his special plays. Very rarely. This game, he was so controlled in the pocket. He understood the
offense well. This offense will continue to expand. I would expect him to get even better. I thought
he looked very, very good this week. He stayed in the pocket. He understood where the ball should go.
They started the game really well with kind of one read basic concepts where he could get the ball out
and get into a rhythm, which every quarterback loves, by the way, as you know.
They want completions early to feel good about it.
And I thought he played really, really well.
And, you know, the two words I typed out when I was done were controlled and calculated.
I thought he really played a good game and he made good throws.
Yep.
So, and by the way, they've got some weapons for him.
They're a little beat up, but the we said before the season, oh, he's finally got some
perimeter weapons here.
So it's kind of exciting for him.
May Flowers is going to be a really good player.
Collins, eight flowers.
Yep.
And you told us that, by the way, before the draft.
Yep, I did.
Yep.
So Justin Fields, you know, I was talking to a friend of mine, John Middlethoff, former NFL
scout, and he said, you know, some guys, some guys are just, just, they roll out of bed
and it's easy accuracy.
They're just naturally accurate throwers.
Troy Aikman, give him a football now, put somebody, put a stop sign 30 yards down the field,
they'd hit it today.
And in there, guys, it's Zach Wilson.
It's a lot of work.
Sure.
Justin Fields.
Sometimes I watch him and I think, man, it can't be this hard.
That's a 12-yard curl.
Did you see any difference week one to week two on Justin Fields?
No, I think he's got some things that you just have to keep working on.
And I know a lot of people think, well, just let him run around.
You know, you and I both know at some point in this league, you've got to make throws from the pocket.
And right now, he is struggling with what he's seen.
He's either getting stuck on his primary read player or primary read side of the field, depending on the concept, and he just doesn't have a natural feel for one to eliminate that and work to something else.
Then there are times where it appears he's looking where he should throw it, Colin, and he just doesn't throw it.
So for whatever reason, it's not registering the way it's supposed to.
There are throws that were there to be made in this game.
There were route concepts that were there, clear as a bell, and he's just not turning the ball loose.
Now, we know what he said in his press conference.
I don't think he quite meant it that way, but in the NFL, you can't just play loosey, goosey, and free and easy.
You know, you have to be able to execute the offense based on your route concepts versus the coverage,
and he's still struggling with what I call elimination and isolation.
He just is not eliminating what's not there and isolating where to go the way you need to do it.
So, you know, listen, this guy took a lot of heat from me, among others, Baker Mayfield,
but I've watched him.
I think he's been very good on third down.
Now he has very good weapons, but I thought he had good weapons in Cleveland.
He maybe he was humbled.
Maybe we have a Gino Smith story.
Maybe he need to be humbled.
He needed to fail.
I don't know what it is.
Is he the same guy?
I will say this.
At the end in Cleveland, he got hurt when he's.
tried to make a tackle after an interception, he rushed back. I never felt in Cleveland at the end.
He was ever healthy. I don't think Baker, I don't think any quarterback's good enough. Maybe
Jaylen Hertz is good enough to play hurt and be great. Mahomes in the Super Bowl was hurt and was
great. But that's hard. I thought Baker and Cleveland at the end was never healthy. He didn't
talk about it. He didn't look right. He couldn't make throws across his body like he could as a
rookie. I think he's healthy now. And is this sustainable what you're seeing?
Well, that we don't know for sure, but I'll say this. Dave Canales is the new offensive coordinator.
And a couple of things stand out through two games. Granted a small sample size, but that's all we have.
And they start with protection first. And that's critical for Baker because at his core, he is a
timing and rhythm player. He's not really a movement player. Now you can do design rollouts with him,
sure, but he's not really a run-around guy. So you need him to feel comfortable in the pocket,
and it starts with protection. He needs to be the kind of quarterback that hits his back foot
and feels that he can deliver the football with timing and anticipation. Look, Colin, you and I both
saw him his last year at Oklahoma. You know, he was a really good thrower of the football. That's
why he's a number one pick and a draft. So you need to really build your offense to play to that.
So it starts with protection, and they've done a really, really good job with that, you know, adding bodies to protection and allowing him to feel secure in the pocket.
And one other quick point. Chris Godwin has become a really intriguing player for them.
Last year, he led the NFL in slot targets and receptions. This year, they're moving him around much more.
He's lined up outside more than in the slot, and they're just doing more with their receivers.
And I'm sure that's the influence of the new coordinator.
So speaking to new coordinator, I contend what I've seen in the NFL through two weeks.
Starters don't play much in the preseason.
So if you have a coordinator change and your starters don't play, it gets ugly.
Philadelphia's good.
But they got an identity crisis.
They don't know what they are right now.
That's what I, when I watch them, I'm like, so you didn't play any starters.
You got a new coordinator.
This looks like August football in offense.
But does a tape say something?
different. Do they have a bigger problem in Philly?
No, I think the tape says something totally different.
I thought that was one of the best coached games by a coordinator I've seen in a long time.
They did not know what they were going to get from Brian Flores.
It's week two.
Brian Flores' history is that he'll do anything.
So you have to let the game start and play out before you understand how you want to attack it.
And then they saw exactly after three or four possessions, exactly what Brian Flores was doing.
and he was basically playing five across in the secondary at quarter's death, 10, 12, 13 yards from the line of scrimmage.
And then what Brian Johnson said was, you know what?
We're going to line up and we're going to run the ball because our offensive line can control their defensive front.
There's no second level defenders.
And so this was a brilliant piece of in-game inflow management by Brian Johnson.
It was not a Jalen Hertz game.
The idea is to win the games.
So this was not an identity crisis.
This was Brian Johnson doing absolutely a beautiful thing to win that game.
I love that.
I stand corrected often.
Okay.
I think what Sean McVeigh's done takes courage.
I'm going to blow it up, start over.
I'm going to hire different coaches.
I'm going to get away from some of the stuff I do.
No Cooper Cup.
And I thought they had the Niners, at least in the first half,
guessing. They had that the Niners were just out of sorts. They didn't know what. And I,
when I watch a game, Greg, a lot of times I like to guess what's going to be called. I had no
idea what the Rams were doing. I think they were so clever. So Stafford and the Rams offense,
no Cooper Cup is working. What do you see? What's the film say? Well, I thought that, first of all,
in that game, the Niners didn't make a change at halftime with how they were going to play. And possibly
because of the way the Rams were moving the football.
Because the Niners started to add more pressure concepts, more five-man rushes, more man
coverage. They changed up the way they played in the second half as opposed to the first half.
But you and I both know, and we can debate forever whether we think he's a Hall of Famer.
But when you have Matthew Stafford who can throw the ball as well as anybody who's played,
you know, you always have a chance. He can make great throws.
and he was doing off-platform throws well before Patrick Mahomes was,
but he was doing it in Detroit so no one care.
But, you know, he's a really great thrower with the football and has been,
you know that when he was in high school in Highland Park, Texas,
people said he'd be the number one pick in the draft.
Yeah.
And he was, and he's had a really, really good career after his first two years when he was injured.
And when you have him and you have that kind of thrower,
he can make receivers better.
But here's the other thing I will say.
they are another team that is starting to really deploy a lot of motion with their receivers.
And motion is becoming a major trend in the league. And when you have someone like Tutu Atwell,
who's 5, 6, 150 pounds, you need him to get free access off the ball screaming at the secondary.
And they're doing a really, really good job tactically of using their weapons and creating throws for Stafford.
And that's all Sean McVeigh.
Yeah. LA's lucky to have McVeigh and Stafford. They're really good.
Without question.
Really good.
How about this one?
I watched Deshawn Watson.
Took two years off.
He may just have lost his fast.
He may just have lost his fastball.
I don't, he doesn't, when he runs, he's just running.
He's not running, he's not Mahomes.
He's running looking forward.
He's running to run.
I just, is it possible?
He just doesn't get it back and he's, this is what he is.
Yeah, boy, that would not be good for Cleveland.
They own a couple of pennies there.
So, you know, the accuracy has really been a problem.
Yes.
He is just missing routine throws.
And I think his mechanics have fallen apart.
Lower body.
And again, that's something you can work on.
You and I don't know how he's being coached.
We don't know the answer to that.
But he is missing so many routine throws, Colin.
I don't think he's struggling to understand where to throw the ball as much as he's missing routine throws.
And as you and I both know, you cannot miss layups in this league.
You just can't.
And he is missing so many of those.
And it's really limiting what they can do offensively.
Yeah.
And I think you're right.
It's mechanics.
And I've said this by Josh Allen, by the way, sometimes.
Even Mahomes occasionally gets off the rails a little bit.
Now, he doesn't, he hasn't in the last year.
But a couple years ago, he got off the rails.
And it took Andy about three weeks to get his mechanics back.
Exactly right.
Playmaking quarterbacks,
playmaking quarterbacks,
Colin, tend to have that issue at times
because they can always,
they know they can make special plays outside of structure.
So when they get back to playing in structure,
sometimes their mechanics fall apart just a little bit.
So in Los Angeles,
the talk is Brandon Staley has to win this week.
It's been his defense for years.
They give up more third and longs than anybody have ever.
It's incredible.
And by the way,
they returned almost all these starters, and they're still in the wrong place all the time.
So you have something from Tennessee, Tannahill against them.
Yeah, let me just say real quick that one of their main issues on defense is really
technique.
Their rush and their coverages are not matching up the way that I'm sure they're being coached.
You know, Brandon Staley, look, you know, he's not a stupid guy.
But for whatever reason, it's not meshing with their rush and their coverage working
the way it's supposed to work.
But anyway, Tennessee is really.
intriguing team. They're not one of those national teams people talk about, but they've got a really
good defense. And I think offensively, they're going to get better. Now, the old line could be a
concern, but they're going to do some really interesting things under Tim Kelly. And I want to show
this touchdown from last week against the Chargers, which I thought was a great red zone concept.
And we can take a look at it right now. It ended up being a Tana Hill touchdown run. But there
was a lot of elements to this. And, you know, quarterbacks that can run, Collins, you know, in the red
zone make things interesting. Oh, yeah. So you can see Tan Hill here in the shotgun. And he's going to be
flanked here in what we call the pony package, meaning two running backs by Derek Henry on his left
and Taj Spears on his right. And they're going to show the defense basically a power gap scheme
run inside. And what's that that is going to do is influence the two stacked linebackers. They're
going to react to the pulling right tackle. And you're going to see that. They're going to react to
that they start moving in that direction.
But that's just a fate.
That's run action to create indecision and hesitation for the defense.
Now the second part of this is the speed option.
So it's Tannehill and Henry.
And now because of the linebackers being influenced at the second level,
there's only one player who can defend this, and that's Derwin James.
And you see that.
So now he can't play two guys.
He can't play Tanahill and he can't play the pitch to Henry.
He can only play one.
and he chooses Henry, and Tannenhill just goes into the end zone for the touchdown.
This was an really beautifully designed play, really well executed,
and you're going to see this more, these kinds of things, more with quarterbacks that can run,
particularly in the red zone, where it's extremely effective.
Greg CoSell, 44 years, NFL films, as always great stuff.
Thanks, Greg.
Thanks, Colin.
Appreciate it.
I think going back to one of his first comments, I tried to be positive, Colin,
but he's saying the tape says on Russell Wilson, there's open players.
He's not accurate.
He's missing them.
It's not my opinion.
That's what he says the film is saying.
I also thought another interesting thing Greg said,
Sam Howell throws a better ball than Baker.
We always thought Baker's strength was throwing the football.
He said he's a more athletic, more athletic baker that stands in a pocket with a little more heat behind him.
We both like Washington's talent.
Snyder's out.
New ownership.
Good energy.
Less meddling.
Good receivers.
D-line.
I don't think it's crazy.
Washington may, there's a team every year we look up mid-October and go,
oh, hell, they're five and one.
They're good.
I think I put Washington in 10.
I think they could be the team.
Okay.
Are we overreacting, you and Greg,
to what, two quarters of Howell being good?
He was atrocious in the opener against Arizona.
atrocious. He kept Arizona
in the game. Vominated all over himself
at the gold line. Hey, hey, here's a touchdown.
Just gave it to the Cardinals. And I, of course,
bet them in that game, so I'm a little angry still.
Two weeks later. But, yeah,
he had a great second half come back after they were down
21-3 against Jender. And then improved
greatly the second week.
Well, yeah, when you're in a big hole, as we saw with Daniel
Jones against Arizona, anybody can come back. I mean,
throw me in it quarterback. I'll make some plays.
Okay, maybe that's a joke.
But I'll just point this out.
We both like their players.
Did you notice against Denver?
He wasn't throwing in Patrick Sartan.
He just like, okay, Sir Tans over there.
That's called smart.
I agree.
But it's like picking on another quarterback.
You think he's going to go against Buffalo this week
and have his way with him?
I think that game's going to be closer than you think.
Interesting.
All right, a little head-to-head action.
Go ahead.
I dare you to put them in the Blazing Five.
Take Washington.
First of all, go ahead.
Does it mean I like the Washington and the points?
It's not one of my Blazing Five picks.
There's been a team every year.
for 20 years that we look up and we go, I didn't see that coming.
Last year it was the Giants.
I'm just telling you, Washington's receivers back.
D-line.
Schedule's not hard.
I mean, I don't think they have a daunting schedule.
Let's see who they got coming up.
It's Buffalo this week.
I think they're going to be.
And then the Eagles, good luck.
Bears, they should be able to be Justin Fields.
I think they have a chance to meet Buffalo this weekend.
I really do.
Okay.
Then Falcons, Giants.
Okay.
So, you know, Bears, Falcons, Giants.
Those are winnable.
I don't think they got beat all those games.
They're not beating bills this weekend.
They're not.
They're not.
I think the bills are actually still undervalued
because everybody freaked out about the Jets game.
Jets handled them last year twice.
Bottled up Josh Allen with that defense.
By the way, how can we ever talk Patriots yet today?
What's going on?
Nobody cares about it.
That's why.
That's the reason.
That is cold-blooded.
This show, we pick topics that people care about.
It was, you know.
Okay.
And I'm very talented.
That's why we get the ratings.
I got a Kyler-Marie take.
I really like it, and I really believe it.
Arizona may be able to turn this puppy around fast.
I have a great parlay for you this weekend, thanks to Draft King Sportsbook.
New users use the code heard when you download the app.
All right, I'm going to go with a three dog parlay pick.
via Draft King's sports book.
All right, Chargers plus one of the Vikings.
They have a better team.
They're desperate, better roster.
And I think this is the moment for the Chargers this season.
Line in the sand.
Lose, they're thinking about a new coach.
I think they win.
They've had moments in both their losses.
Chargers win by a touchdown.
Steelers plus three at the Raiders.
Why?
I think Pittsburgh's a better roster overall

Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

J-Mack with the news.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Let's go with Sean Payton and Denver.
He had some interesting comments about Russell Wilson and the arm band after their
week two loss of the commanders.
Peyton is taking things further telling reporters the team has begun
streamlining the play calls ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins.
Wow.
probably had too much with some of these plays and looking back on it, that's something we can
correct on our end, you know, and be quicker. You know, there's that happy balance of, you know,
getting it in fast, but then also getting it called to the line. And, you know, I think, I'm
sure we were a little bit heavy relative to the length of some of the plays.
How about that? Is that a shot at the coaching staff or what?
It's funny because it's an interesting.
So he's basically took a shot at the previous coach for it.
Now it's Russ.
Now, maybe it's just that Sean gets stuff in very quickly.
The previous coach, Russ, they just don't get in.
They don't process or whatever it is that Hackett didn't do or Russ didn't do.
I don't know who.
But my takeaway is maybe this is something for Sean Payton that he is a very precise,
defiant quick play caller.
And he was frustrated with what he saw.
with Hackett. Now he's frustrated with Russell Wilson. I mean, it just feels like this is becoming
the issue over and over. I think we need to ask one quote. Do you think Russell Wilson is the
reason they're o' and two? I don't think, as Greg said, you have to be able to deliver
off-scripted plays. He's been a bad second-half quarterback, but I do think there's two other
factors. The O-line's got two new starters, and nobody plays in the preseason. The O-line's going to
get better, and they need help at the trade deadline on their defensive front.
Okay. So you can pin it on Russ all he wants, right? You go in a half time,
Russ is cooking in the first half. Defense makes adjustments.
Russ is adjusting or the office coordinator or Peyton? Like, you can't just say
Russ is making mistakes. The officer coordinator needs the defense adjusted.
Yeah, but you saw, you watched the second half. Russell struggled.
He made two bad plays. There's a bad fumble and the pin. And Greg's saying not only that,
But there's people open.
He doesn't see.
Well, you know what else?
I just dug this up.
Denver's second most penalties in the NFL.
That's not a Russ.
Denver's team is undisciplined, a mess.
Kareem Jackson's out here trying to head hunting.
No.
Trying to get suspended.
No.
The kicker misses an extra point and a field goal in the open.
They should have won that game.
I'm not saying you're inactive.
This feels a little, I don't know how to phrase it,
but it feels weird that Russ keeps getting brought up.
He's not the reason for O&2.
Let's be clear.
Well, he is a big part of the reason.
He is the quarterback.
They had to give up draft capital.
There's limitations on what you can spend starting this.
Big contract, big pressure.
It's so weird.
Justin Herbert's O-in-2.
Brandon Staley's getting all the heat.
Justin Herbert couldn't deliver.
And I like Herbert.
I'm not going after.
But Herbert's numbers are very good first and second half.
The numbers tell you he's being undone by an atrocious defense.
As someone who bet the Chargers, I watch Herbert go right down the field ahead of overtime.
they got like 45 seconds on the clock.
They're in the red zone.
And they couldn't score.
I tried to town.
They have to settle for three.
Who's that on?
Then you get the ball in overtime, Herbert, three and out.
Like, it's just weird in this league.
We defend who we like.
Not not you, but the media and the narratives.
We all like Herbert.
We don't like Staliff.
Well, let me ask you this.
Nobody seems to like Russell Wilson anymore.
And everybody likes Sean Payton.
It's just weird.
Do you hear what I'm saying?
Yes, but I think my eyes tell me,
and the data tells me the Chargers is a defense and a coach issue.
And the Broncos is multiple issues, but Russell has to play better after half.
That's where you make money in this league.
It's not on the scripted stuff.
Kirk Cousins on the scripted stuff is great.
Now it's a Sunday night game.
Your personal schedule's kicked around.
It's not perfect.
Now you trail.
Now you have to make something happen.
Now they've made adjustments.
They know your opening game plan.
Mahomes is the best second half quarterback.
Brady, great.
You got to do something after half.
Fair.
Listen, I do love Herbert.
I don't want my Chargers, buddy, he's getting on my case here.
Just being clear, Herbert's had the ball trailing with a chance to win the game against Miami and Tennessee.
Fair.
Didn't get it done either time.
Fair.
And I'm not banging on.
All right.
Fair.
Next up.
Sticking with the Broncos Dolphins game, Tua and Miami have had that great start.
Two is the early MVP leader, according to the odds.
How about this staff?
Tua has gotten nine straight wins over Super Bowl winning coaches and could extend it to 10 with a victory over Sean Payton.
Wow.
If Tua gets the win, he'll have four more opportunities to extend that streak to 14 games.
Very obscure stat.
I'm assuming dug up by some dolphin bloggers.
This is very weird.
Like, I don't want to reference Herbert again, but the Tua Herbert thing is like,
Hey, you guys loved Herbert for two years.
Look at Tua.
Look at it.
Tua has got a brilliant offensive coach.
Not good, brilliant.
People are now copying him.
Okay.
it's very possible
Justin Herbert has
a coach that'll be fired by Thanksgiving
and coach we don't think
coaching is everything
but it's 30 to 40% of the whole equation
we know that
where are you on this game
to Broncos
it's really interesting
if it went to 7 and a half
I would take Denver
I think it's 6 and a half
I'm bad yeah if it went to 7 I would take
Denver I think but it's 6 and a half
can Miami at home
it's still blazing down there
Mike just check the way
We are so inlocked.
I just checked the weather.
It's going to rain this weekend.
Not, you know, Miami, it rains like every...
I just think Miami scores so effortlessly,
and it looks sometimes in the second half,
so hard for Denver.
I think it will be a competitive game.
I think it's going to be competitive,
but Miami's finally got to go home.
I don't know.
I just, I...
Denver's defense is somewhere between...
It's better than the Chargers.
It's not New England.
And that tells me two of...
is going to drop 28, 28 to 30 points.
Final story we're getting to, finally, my New York Jets.
They've got confidence in Zach Wilson.
Well, they kind of got to say that.
However, former patriot Rodney Harrison
does not agree with the Jets' confidence in Zach Wilson
and ripped Zach Wilson in an appearance on the Eye on Foxborough podcast.
It just looks like this kid is scared to death.
He's got the weight of the world on him.
He's playing in New York the most screact.
rudinized media market in the world.
And I don't think it gets any better.
I think it just continues to go until they make a change.
Yeah, I don't think, I don't think he's wrong.
I don't, I don't think, and by the way, I do think, my guess is the Patriots win.
Zach does not look good.
And then you're going to have, you're going to have discussions next week on what do we do?
and I think there's going to be a bunch of names out there of people we've seen play before.
But I do think this is a real moment for him.
You're at home.
You've been bad against Belichick.
So can we have some growth here?
So if we're banging on Justin Fields, we don't see growth.
Let's be fair.
Zach Wilson, this is a growth moment.
Can you just stay out of trouble against Belichick because you haven't?
So I don't know where I read this, but against Tua.
Belichick said, I'm putting five and six defensive backs on the field almost at all times.
And we're not going to give up the big play.
We're going to do our best to actually, he had a good game, but he wasn't like amazing.
He was okay.
We know.
Sanchez just sat here last week and told us Zach Wilson can't read zones.
So Belichick's just going to have five and six defensive backs, confused the hell out of the guys, say, go ahead and try to make a pass.
That's it for me.
2720, New England.
You get the, you get Jets again 20?
Yeah, 2420, New England.
Path to victory for the Jets.
Breece Hall, 20, carries,
Dauphin Cook 15.
I mean, no, I mean,
Mack Jones throws a pick six,
and the defense rises.
And they get a pop or two from Bree.
Yeah, by the way, look at a...
We ripped Zach.
Mac Jones against the Jets last year
in two starts was not good.
No, well, most people against Belichick,
young quarterbacks aren't good, ever.
No, no, I meant Mac Jones against Robert Sala's defense.
The Jets were great against Matt Jones.
He had, he did not have two good games.
It was 3-3 before the punt return in Foxborough.
This is going to be a low-scoring game.
Yeah, the totals cratering.
You don't, hey, you missed the number.
It's like 37.
Something can bring you into it.
Yeah, I mean, this is, this, this has 2320 written all over it.
That would hit the, that would actually hit the over there.
Yeah.
I think the total's in the 30s now.
They're thinking this is like 1716.
Very possible.

So Kyler Murray was very optimistic, said yesterday on TikTok.
That's a sentence I would have never guessed I would have said 10 years ago.
Yesterday, a pro athlete said on TikTok, he said, I tore my ACL eight months ago,
only major injury I've had, never missed games like this, itching to get back.
I want to throw this out.
Best case scenario for Arizona.
He comes back little before Thanksgiving.
He's healthy.
He's in a good mood.
He's productive.
You start looking at that Arizona schedule second part of the year.
Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Seattle.
He's productive.
Forget about the wins.
He's productive.
He's got a better attitude.
They move him.
Derek Carr got $150 million.
You're telling me he doesn't have a market.
26 years old, one injury, got Arizona, a tire fire to the playoffs, got better every year
with a coach who we thought was mostly over his head.
He pulled a franchise into the playoffs at the time in a very good division.
Aaron Rogers was 39 expensive, prickly, coming off his worst year and talking retirement
and had a market.
Kirk Cousins has a market.
car got $150 million.
This kid's 26, one injury, hella accurate, and really mobile.
I think if he comes back and is productive, you move him, get another first round pick.
You're going to have three firsts.
Caleb, Harris, and the receiver, a bunch of good defensive ends.
You get pretty good fast in this league if you have a star receiver, a star quarterback
on a rookie contract.
A lot of guys going to want to play with.
Caleb Williams. All is not lost. Don't kid yourself on this. This guy throws a beautiful ball,
super accurate. Gino Smith had a reboot. Baker Mayfield may. Kiner Murray doesn't. And by the way,
he got better every year. He's 26. So you go look at the market for Aaron, who was talking
retirement, expensive 39, absolutely a market. Look what New York gave up. So I think that the
Arizona situation may feel hopeless.
It's not hopeless.
It is not.
This league is healthy, productive, good attitude, very attractive to a guy that throws a ball like that.
Hey, if I could, can I jump in?
Of course you can.
Did you say what his salary was coming up in the next few years?
No, no, I'm just curious.
I forgot what it was.
Could you remind me?
It's expensive.
Oh, okay.
And you said this is the best quarterback class coming in that you've ever seen.
it's really good.
So if you're picking in the top 10.
Half will not work.
Well, I don't know if Kylo-Murie's going to work going to.
Do you think he's going to work?
He got Arizona to the playoffs.
Yeah.
And then he was, there's no moss.
I don't want to go back out there against Aaron Donald in that first round.
Got hurt.
And he's also coming off a major injury.
So is Aaron and you have the Jacks in the Super Bowl next year.
I wanted Lamar Jackson.
Okay.
Aaron's going to be, he's 40 soon with an Achilles surgery.
and you believe next year is the year of glory.
This kid is 14 years younger, one injury ever.
Wait, wait, you're not trying to put Kyler on the Jets, are you?
We want nothing to do that.
No, no, no, no, no, I'm just saying.
You're going to tell me he doesn't want a market.
Well, let's talk through the market.
So if I'm picking in the top 10, I can get a quarterback on a rookie deal
and pay everyone else, try the 49ers model.
What am I doing getting Kyler Murray's contract?
You don't think he has a market.
Well, I didn't say that yet.
But, like, I would rather have a quarterback on a rookie deal than pay Kyler Murray.
I don't think I would.
We need to dive deeper.
Caleb Williams, yes.
Shadur Sanders, yes.
Penix.
He's been hurt before.
Hour three next.
