We're in Los Angeles. We're live. It's the herd wherever you may be. However you may be listening. Iheart Radio, Fox Sports Radio FS1. I'm watching that game last night. I'm thinking to myself, we both, you know, we like Dallas. And I thought to myself, we're down to the final eight teams. How lucky are we to do what we do?

I'm sitting there last time my wife calls. She goes, oh, I feel so bad. I'll be home Friday. What are you doing? And I'm like, it's so sad. I'm just watching the Dallas Cowboys against Brady having them. Bourbon. making myself some dinner.

What a great life. I'm so grateful for my life. How about you? Hashtack blessed. Is that what the kids? Kind of. So, sitting around watching football games? I got to watch two Fox games this weekend.

Eagles, Giants, it's all right. It's okay. Niners, Cowboys. How about us? So we worried as a company this year privately. We didn't advertise it, but we just didn't know. We were like, oh, you, the playoff teams.

The AFC looked like it had all the great teams. We end up with the Cowboys and the Niners, Philadelphia and the Giants. I mean, those are blue-blood franchises. All were missing's Green Bay, but Aaron couldn't get it done. So outside of that, I mean, you know, blame Aaron. We blame McCarthy for three years. Why can't I blame Aaron for an hour? There's a tracker on the Internet of how many shows in a row you take a jab, a tweak in Aaron Modger.

I think we're like 37, something like that. That's quite a life. It's carved out. I mean, people got to watch all three hours, keep it locked in. By the way, no end in sight on that. Yeah. Yeah, September, whatever it is, 8th, just that plus the 37 in a row. Just one zinger.

That's all it takes. You know, Aaron Rogers, ding, you know, like. 38. Yeah. Ding, 39. All right, Nick, right. First, though, we thought we do the final herd hierarchy of sort of this football season. The eight teams left, let's rank them, one through eight.

Go. Number eight. The Giants, listen, they haven't won back-to-back games since week six and seven. So let's not go crazy. Daniel Jones ate up an awful Vikings defense. It is awful. So we had three games this year, over 300. Two are against the Vikings, one are against the lions. They're 0 and 2 against Philadelphia. I think they're today a better story than a team. They've got to fix their receiving core, get a tight end, elevate the interior O-Lon. get another corner. The best corners in New York are both with the Jets. So this is a really good story,

but they're going to go to Philadelphia, and the truth will come out. Number seven. The Jaguars. Now, I like the Jaguars. I didn't like them before the season, but I bought into them about two or three weeks, I believe,

after Thanksgiving. Trevor Lawrence is remarkable, but here's the problem. They've got holes. You don't fall behind 27, nothing at home, without being flawed. Their past defense is a wreck, and the Chiefs,

are now hosting the Jags off their biggest win in years. I think it's going to get ugly. It's the one blowout I see this weekend. So it's the first team to ever win a playoff game with a minus five turnover differential. The good news they won. The bad news is why do they have a minus five turnover differential? Jags are at seven.

Number six. The Cowboys, listen, they've been very good since DAC was standing. Yes, and DAC is the oldest remaining quarterback in the playoffs at 29 years old. But, but, but, but. Let's be honest, this team throws up a stinker about every third to fourth game. They come unglued. They have great individual players, but they don't have really great individual units. I think they're a defensive lineman shy.

They don't have a number two corner. They could use another receiver. They've got talented players, very few great units. Number five. The Bills. They're making too many mistakes. Three giveaways in three straight games. plus giveaways in three straight games.

They're regressing. I don't like their offensive line. They play one way. They go for the knockout. And when they don't get it, they get into these dog fights with clearly less talented quarterbacks like Skyler Thompson. They have an eight-game winning streak,

and we knew they would end up here because they're just so damn talented. They're the most fun you can have watching football in this. You know, they're all drama. They're all far of Packers. Big home runs, big mistakes, big strikeouts, big fumbles, big picks. I have them at five.

Number four. Philadelphia, I'm a little worried one and two since Jalen Hertz was hurt, and they've had some time off now. I worry a little. They've also become turnover-plagged. Sixteen giveaways in their last nine games. Remember, first two months they had barely any, so they used to be turnover-free and healthy.

Now they're dinged up and turnover-plagued. I worry about that. But fourth team in league history was 70. plus sacks, they get after it. Daniel Jones will be under duress. The Eagles are a very strong four. Number three. Cincinnati, three offensive linemen hurt.

I had them at number one all season. But the problem with that is it not only hurts the run game, it hurts their vertical pass game. Burroughs got to get rid of the ball quicker now. That takes out Jamar Chase down the field throws. So I worry about that. They are on a nine-game winning

streak. I think when healthy, they're the only team that really goes toe to toe with Kansas City and matches up. But right now, go ask Kansas City what it's like to lose offensive linemen in a big game. Remember that Super Bowl with Tom? They're a mess up front. The good news, Kappa may be coming back, and that could be the difference if they can get one or two of those linemen back. Number two.

The 49ers, listen, it's a great story, but no rookie quarterback has ever led a team to a Super Bowl appearance in NFL history. So it does feel like we're looking at a precedent. But Tony Romo undrafted, Kurt Warner undrafted, Mark Brunel drafted late, Brady drafted late. Brock Purdy is very, very athletic. He is not just kind of mobile, super mobile. Hoy's accuracy. This offense has not built for a superstar quarterback.

They've scored 37 plus points in four straight games. Wow, this is not a mirage. It's an upgrade over Garoppolo. I have him at two. Number one. A Kansas City, and I, you know, think a lot of that is because Cincinnati's offensive line issues, which they could have solved in a couple of weeks. Okay, so two of those linemen could be coming back. Andy Reed is

27 and 4 off a buy, including playoffs. Jacksonville, thanks for flying United. Your season's over. But no quarterbacks ever led the league in passing yards and won the Super Bowl in the same season. It's a weird outlier stat. It's a weird stat. And they lead offensively. You know, it's You got a great coach, you got a great quarterback. This is what it looks like. So there you go. One through eight. Let's bring on Nick Wright Coe's first things first.

Had a funny wig on yesterday. I feel bad for Trevor Lawrence, buddy. That Trevor Lawrence thing's about to end. You do know that, right? Oh, well, you don't have to feel badly for him. I mean, the guy beat, you know, the media's favorite AFC West quarterback, Justin Herbert. You know, I'm crazy. I prefer the guy who, you know, has been to Super Bowl's one.

Super Bowl's one MVP, but man, oh man, Herbert's got that rocket arm, which they don't seem to let him use. Trevor had a wonderful season, and they're going to end the season this weekend, unfortunately, in Arrowhead. His career-long streak of never losing on a Saturday must come to an end. That happens. But it's a great year. Peterson did a great job.

But yeah, Colin, I love that herd hierarchy, by the way. The Chiefs won, Niners, too. You know, there's someone on this network that picked before the year, Chiefs, Niners Super Bowl, stuck by it the whole way. I wonder who that is. Let me just take a sip of this coffee, see if you can think of it. You're so nauseous. Pretty good, I know.

Okay. So we liked the Cowboys last night. My theory's always been when a good quarterback has a stinker. They almost always bounce back. To be a pro athlete, you've got to be driven and willful. And, you know, Dax's a pro. Dack played with so much conviction last night. How confident should they be, though, because the team they're playing next is not the team they played last night.

Well, listen, I think the Niners are a juggernaut. I think they're a buzzsaw. And so I think that there's, you know, 30 teams would have trouble going into San Francisco with San Francisco playing as well as they are. So I think they could lose next week and still, you know, it's not necessarily an indictment on them. But I want to talk about DAC for a moment because DAC was spectacular yesterday. He was. There's no denying it. There's no taking anything

away from him. With that said, I just want everyone to understand that the barrier for entry for the great quarterback club is you have to be playing in the divisional round

with regularity and you occasionally have to get past it. We don't listen. He was awesome. In a game I thought they would lose. And I know we'll talk Brady. He looked like, you know, the great quarterback and Brady looked nothing like that. I get all of it.

But I feel like because DAC is talked about so often, it is often in the extremes. When the reality is, winning a wildcard round game against a sub-500 team is what you're supposed to do. Right. Dak did

more than he was supposed to do with how well he played. But for Dak Prescott, this was a game that in my opinion, Colin, losing it would have been devastating to the franchise and to how we look at deck. Winning it was what they needed to do. Now they play a game where if they find a way to win it, we can start to reevaluate Dak Prescott in a positive way. But beating the eight and nine bucks in the wild card round to me is not a legacy or situation

changer for Dak Prescott, despite the fact that he was excellent. He played almost a perfect football game. Okay, I think Miami and the Raiders work for Brady. Many think he'll retire. I said, hey, take a deep breath. They won the division. He set the NFL record for completions. He had a defensive coach, and he's, you know, the guy likes football. This is what he likes to do. Even his dad said, he didn't want to retire. That was somebody else's call. What do you think's next for him? Well, I think he's probably going to play, and I think Miami will probably be the spot. But, Colin, listen, Colin, I'm going to betray our friendship here very briefly. I hope you forgive me. America, Colin Coward was down bad yesterday. You know how I know it? Before this

game even ended, he's texting me college football coach quotes. And I won't say who, but it was a college football coach quote. And I'm like, oh, man, my guy Coward is not dealing well with watching the end of Tom Brady. And now I was scared. I am scarred. Like many people, football fans and I thought Tom Brady and the pixie dust were going to come into play and we were going to see the best version of Brady we'd seen all year. Instead, Colin, in a league that is increasingly critical for your quarterback to at least be a little mobile. You don't have to be Josh Allen. You don't have to be a great runner. But Joe Burrow can run enough to keep the defense honest. Can be mobile in the pocket. Brady looked like a

a relic of a time passed, and he was missing passes, and I don't think all of a sudden he's going to get better at age 46. Listen, I was, you know, some would say seven years too early on this, but now I think it's safe to say the Tom Brady era is over, and I think we saw evidence of it all year, and I think he will continue to play at least for another season, but I don't think, I think the only, team, Colin, that could win a Super Bowl with Brady at the quarterback is San Francisco,

and I think San Francisco would rather stick with Brock Purdy. And so I don't, I think he'll play, but I think that the Super Bowl he won against Mahomes with his first year in Tampa is going to be the last great playoff moment he has. So you have been very accurate on Josh Allen. I admit that I am, the great moments are so stupendous that I am sometimes seduced by Josh Allen because he's the only guy that can go toe to toe with Mahomes. And it's like they stand in the center of the ring and go Hagler-Herns. It's like bang, bang, bang. And it's like it's great American sports.

It's Nadal and Federer Djokovic in their prime. It's like, what am I watching? But the turnovers now are real. They're increasing. he's regressing like today. They've been real all along, Colin. They've been real all along.

And this, I'm not, you have been, you at least were quicker on this than most. And I, listen, America's not here to hear about me. They're here to hear to talk about sports. I want to talk about myself for just a moment.

I want apologies. Because I have been called a hater. I have been, people have said, oh, Nick doesn't really believe the things he says about Josh Allen, he just knows that Allen might be better than Mahomes, so he's protecting Mahomes. It was always nonsense. The idea that it was, ah, you know, we have two all-time great quarterbacks in this league, Mahomes and Alan, and it's tomato,

no, it's not. We do not judge quarterbacks by purely what the upside is. We judge, if we did, then Jeff George would get a lot more respect than he. he once did. And I'm not calling Josh Allen, Jeff George. But what we judge quarterbacks by is a combination of what's the highest upside and how low is their basement.

And the best quarterbacks, their basement, is actually fine. Josh Allen led the league this year in interceptions plus fumbles. He 32 times in 17 games threw a pick

or fumbled the football. That's big. He, five times against the dolphins, he either threw a pick or fumbled the ball. The dolphins were drawing dead to win that game unless Josh Allen went full Josh Allen, which he did. And so you used a tennis analogy. I wouldn't say Nadal Federer. I would say Josh Allen is Nick Curios, who, when he's playing his best, is as good as anybody. But at times plays like a maniac. Yeah.

And he seems not to be able to help himself. And Colin, I can't help but notice. So Josh Allen was incredibly turnover prone. Brian Dayball comes into his life. He cleans it up and plays the best football of his life. Brian Dayball leaves and the turnovers are all immediately back. Yes. Daniel Jones is the most turnover prone quarterback in football.

Brian Dayball gets there and he cleans it up entirely. And so right now, if you're the Buffalo Bill, It's weird to say, but one of your big concerns is, is my quarterback going to give it away? That is not the case for the Chiefs. That is not the case for the Bengals. That is not the case when you have, hell, for the Eagles. And I think Allen's better than hurts, but it's not the case for them either. They take care of the ball, and there was no reason to get into a shootout with Miami.

They got into it because Josh Allen couldn't help him. And so, I mean, we've only had evidence, Colin, since his first playoff game of his life, when he threw the ball backwards behind his head with a minute left down three. At his core, it's who he is. And it always wants to come out. Okay, so I'm a Lamar Jackson fan, but there is a Kauai Leonard thing here that bothers me. When you're the star, I need communication. I need verbal.

I need clarity. He's getting more mysterious. I do think Miami and the Jets, the Jets aren't paying everything. anybody right now. They're Stoss Gardner, their young receivers, the Hall, the running back from Iowa State. Bruce Hall. Yeah, they're not paying anybody.

They're going to go get a left tackle. I think Lamar works there. They give up first round pick. They need a quarterback and a left tackle. So I think he fits places. And Baltimore's culture is so damn good. They're starting Pac-12 quarterbacks who weren't even stars in the Pack 12. And they're competitive.

Their culture, their defense, their brainpower, their toughness. Is Lamar movable? What do you make of this? No, so I listen, I think the divorce is looming. I think there's, and a month ago I said, if Lamar doesn't play in the playoffs, I think he's played his last game with Baltimore. And now all signs reporting towards that. Can I throw one really?

I think immediately you're going to scoff at it. Okay. But it's an intriguing fake trade. Sure. Because the hardest part about trading Lamar is going to be. the Ravens feel like we can win right now. We might have the best defense in the league. So are we really going to trade Lamar for the fourth pick of the draft

plus other picks to Indy and have to kind of start over on that side of the ball? What about one for one? Lamar for Justin Fields. So the Bears have more cap space than anyone in the league and they need to spend it. The Ravens have built an offense that necessitates a mobile quarterback, and they don't want to pay their quarterback. And Justin Fields would be going into the third year of his rookie deal. The Bears have the number one pick of the draft that they could hold an auction for,

acquire talent. They have a ton of money to spend. That is, I know everyone's talking about Lamar to Atlanta, Lamar to Seattle, Lamar to New York, all those things. And those things to me are interesting. But for the Ravens, you need to know who's playing quarterback for you next year, and you haven't built an offense that you, you can just be like, all right, we'll sign Jimmy G.

Right. Because that offense needs a mobile quarterback. Lamar for Justin Fields is to me an intriguing one that I think both teams have a long meeting about. That is the best one I can come up with. It's not terrible. It's really not. You know, everybody scoffs at that stuff. You think Stafford was going to go to the Rams?

Brady was going to go to Tampa. The new GMs in this league are young and dealmakers. It's not, NBA is the same thing. These guys now, you know, the old GMs, the Giants didn't even do trades before Jimmy Johnson. It's like, I don't think it's crazy at all. I think your point is Baltimore can't just bring in anybody. They're built for an athlete. Can't bring in just anybody.

Can't. Correct. You can't. You have to spend your offseason building an entirely new offense. You've got, and by the way, I don't know if people have looked at the free agent-wide receivers this year. They don't exist. It's juju-Smith-Schuster. It's not a lot.

It's not like you can just go out and go sign a great wide receiver this season. So I think it's a, but I don't think the idea that Baltimore is going to franchise tag Lamar and he's just going to sign it and play, I don't think that's going to happen. I think Lamar has played his last down with the Ravens and they're going to have to figure out where they're moving. All right, Nick Wright, first things first shows on fire doing very, very well. Go look at that Harbaugh quote again and see if you've heard it. It's either me or Confucius and I'm going to lean with me.

Listen. So I didn't know you said the name. Let me just say this. It's funny how relationships work. I'm old enough to remember a long time ago. Jim Harbaugh, who I like, was quite rude to my dear friend Colin Coward. And now he's announcing he's coming back to Michigan by using a cowardism. Don't try to out happy, happy. I mean, I saw it. I was like, you know what? That's from coward. So I don't know if you get intellectual property rights on that or whatever, but I was happy for you. No. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Start with the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones, because who doesn't love wild and crazy Jerry Jones? Cowboys had their first playoff road win last night since 1992. They went on to win the Super Bowl. and JJ said after the win over the bucks, he sees some similarities between those Cowboys teams.

Michael Irvin came up right at the end of the game, and he was talking about the teams that he played on. He used the analogy of a dog, and he said, you put the dog in the whatever, the hunt, and you put it in there. Then once they've tasted that, then they come on back, and he said, so that's what you've done here. And he said, this guy, these guys will never be the same.

I saw it happen to his budget. So this one definitely will lift this team's capability of playing good against San Francisco. The line is surprisingly close, three and a half. Yeah, that feels a little light to me. Felt a little light to me. I thought it would be four and a half to five. I do like the Giants plus the points. That's my favorite underdog bet.

I think the chiefs and the Niners, I like the favorites. You know, anytime I hear someone talk about the Niners, they're like, whoa, Brock Pretty couldn't melt down. It's coming. I just keep hearing this. Like, it's like, oh, well, he's a rookie quarterback. He's going to screw up at some point. Well, the precedent is they usually do.

So the first half of the Seahawks Niners looked a lot like, I think we thought, which was, oh, Brock was a little tight. First couple series. Right. So, Dak was tight last night in his first series. But I think we're all, remember, Tony Romo undrafted, Kurt Warner undrafted, Tom Brady is the best quarterback ever six round. It happens.

Now, it usually takes a while, right? Like, it took Warner a while. It took Romo. The difference is this kid was a four-year starter in a Power 5 conference, and the difference is also quarterback as a position is so much more ready to play. early than they were years ago because of the seven-on-seven and the generational and cultural changes. So when I look at Purdy, I was talking to John Middletkoff, who works over at the volume with me, and he's a former NFL scout.

And he said, if you look at his 10-yard, Brock Purdy's 10-yard speed, it's like elite, like Mahomesy sort of Josh Allen, and I forget the players he used. But Brock Purdy isn't kind of mobile. He's twitchy. And I'll say it again. Iowa State under him was very good. Good coach. They recruited off of Brock Purdy's wins.

He left the program bottomed out. It's like Brock Purdy is even his college program fell apart when he left with a really good coach. Matt Campbell was rumored to be the next Michigan guy of Harbaugh left. So it's like we may be looking at one. One of these very, we see it in baseball from time to time where you get a rookie that comes in and he pops, you know, for a short period of time. You know, who's this guy and all this. You know, you can look at the history of sports. We've had these moments before.

We just think in football, you know, you got to be a first or a second. And I'll go back to quarterback the position quarterback right now. The kids that come in at 21, 22, if they've started substantial years in college. They're more ready to play than ever. I think Purdy had like over 40 starts at Iowa State, something like that. I'm looking at this Cowboys offense. Where can they find an edge on the Niners defense? Because I think Peters left the game,

offensive linemen last night with an injury. We'll see. But the linebackers are so fast, Dax's legs are not going to matter in this game. He's not going to be able to scramble for a ton of yard. No. All the stuff on the outside to Pollard and Zee, that's not going to work.

They have some of the fastest best linebackers in the league. Yes. So where is the advantage? It's not C.D. Lamb in the slot. No. Ward defending in the slot. PFF has him as the 14th best defender. I think the feeling is, can you attack the Niners

through the middle? Does the Cowboys improved offensive line give Dak a reasonably comfortable amount of time to throw? Can they five yard you to death? I think the answer's no. I think that the Matt, when I saw three and a half, my first takeaway was I love the Giants and the points and the Niners to cover. Those jump right out.

Even Micah Parsons. Good luck against Trent Williams. Best love tackle in the game. arguably for the last five years. Like I just don't see a lot of advantages yet. I want to look at the Niners run game, though, before we dig in a little deeper. Right, next up, uh, let's go to the Miami Dolphins. Tua, you know, you got a good first half of the season. Then he had the, of course, the concussions. His future in Miami has been a big topic down in South Beach. GM Chris Greer, he's still employed there, by the way, made it very clear the team is sticking with Tua. I would say with Tua he's our starting quarterback. So, you know, I don't know how we could say it

any more clearly that we've been that way through this season and what he's done and what Mike and Tua, Beville, Chandler, the coaching staff have all done. They've all worked tremendously hard, all of them together. So fully expect them back next year, 100% ready to go. So let me throw this out. Well, you got to say that. First of all, Greer has to say that. Yes. I mean, this is, some of these people in the media that buy into anything anybody says. Well, the GM said this. Yeah, no bleep, Sherlock. Oh, yeah. So I saw a quote in Miami. Sammy, that just because you've had concussions doesn't mean you're more likely to get them. And I saw that yesterday. Time out. So we know as a rule certain players, Anthony Davis and the Lakers,

is more injury prone. We know other players in their prime aren't. LeBron wasn't, Michael Jordan wasn't. So we know there are players, their bodies genetically, they just get more injured. We also know that guys like Aikman had a lot of concussions. John Lynch, the hardest hitting safety for a decade had none. So this idea, and I don't know because there's so much we don't know about the brain. But when I hear people say, just because Tua's had a lot of concussions, he's not more prone to them. Are we absolutely sure of that? That's one of those things that you can say that.

But, I mean, we're finding things out about cancer, about our brains all the time medically. I believe there are people that are more prone to this. Let's just lean on the experts. Let's not care what do my own research guy on Twitter or even media guy at the newspaper says, I don't care. Ask 10 brain surgeons. What's the deal with the concussions?

If Tua had, what, two or three this season? What's the impact next September? Like, I don't know the answer. We should just ask professionals in this field. Yeah. And I think you've got to look at Tua size. and the way he gets rag-dalled, and like you just don't see some of those bigger guys,

you don't see Herbert getting tossed around. Here's, and I think, did we talk about this yesterday? So as the NFL has expanded their regular season to 17 games, that's 70 more, 60 more snaps for a quarterback. We've now added another layer of playoff games. There's 60 more snaps for a quarterback. Could I not argue, as the NFL has lengthened their regular and postseason,

that durability and size for, a quarterback has never met more. Jalen Hertz, small hurt, Tyler Murray, small hurt, Tua, small hurt. You know, I just, if you keep extent, it'd be like, let's say you and I, I own a construction business.

And I was going to ask my construction workers, that's a tough business, to work 10% more hours, would I hire people more or less capable to handle the hours? That's a hard, like oil there, construction, football, law enforcement.

There are industries you ask more of people physically. The NFL is just adding games and adding hits and adding playoffs. Size and durability matter more today than three years ago. I know you're big on the mock drafts. I'm doing one currently for Fox Sports. I don't have Bryce Young top five. I know people aren't going to like it. I'm the same.

I like Bryce Young a lot. Immensely talented, but just got to be careful with this guy. He's smaller than to him, man. What if he gets an old line like the Bears? He's done in two. He can't. No shot. Yeah.

Justin Fields is a huge pro athlete. He got sacked, what, 55 times? Like, even Joe Burroughs massive, got sacked a ton, and they said, we got to protect this guy. Now, here's a question on Tua, Colin. What do you do? I think he's eligible for the extension this summer that Herbert has the option to get it. Herbert's going to get his, right? He's going to obviously get an extent.

I'm not. But what do you tell Tua? I'm not picking up his option. There's no way. You would? I don't know how you, I don't know how they're going to, like, what do you say? Like, what do you say to him? Hey, we need to see more.

Like, we need to see a healthy, like, obviously, you can't pay him, but Herbert, who went a pick after him. You made a good point yesterday on the show. What's the market for Daniel Jones if the Giants didn't? There isn't one. Because Daniel Jones' success is overwhelmingly viewed as a Brian Dayball solution. Well, now, you could argue Jimmy Garoppolo largely tied to Kyle Shanahan. What's he going to do away from Shanahan?

Well, Brock Purdy's success makes Garoppel. less valuable. There's a guy named Nick Mullins. You remember him? Back up in San Fran. He looked awesome for a few games. He beat the Rams once. He had a lot of good games.

And you're like, wait a minute. Is this a Shanahan thing? Does this guy have something? I don't know where Nick Mullins is right. Back up somewhere around the league. All right. Final story. We'll wrap up with Zach Taylor announced,

Three starting offensive linemen. Potentially two. If it's two, I'll take Cincinnati. Okay, I just want to remind people, I'm almost certain. Burrow went to Tennessee last year. Ryan Tanna Hill, you know, vomited all over himself. Three interceptions. Burrow was sacked, I think, nine times.

They got super lucky to beat Tennessee last year. If Kappa plays, I'll take the Bengals. You're putting everything. on Alex Kappa. They did go on to beat the Chiefs. There's a Bengals fan here not happy to be saying the Bengals got a little lucky.

Ryan's not thrilled with that. They were fortunate. They were fortunate to win last year. Who you got in this one? It's all Alex Kappa? I'm just saying, if one of these guys can play, I will take the Bengals. Who do you trust more tie game

heading into the fourth quarter? Burrow. Think about it. Burrow. Think about it. I don't have to think about it. Burrow. I'm not even close.

I'm trusting Burrow now, too. Josh Allen has been spotty. And the Bills fans, have you noticed on social how defensive they are of Allen? Well, that's not his fault. The receiver ran the wrong route. I don't know, that deep bomb just looked like a chuck and duck. And Allen was off on that one. It was bad.

Up 17, nothing too. J-Mack with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping back. The herd-line news. I will tell you, the Brock Purdy story is crazy. Are we just looking at lightning in a bottle? I don't know the answer.

I've seen it in my entire life, these brief moments in all sports, where somebody comes on, And they're just unbelievable. I remember when I was a kid. You could look this up. No, I should, I say a kid. I don't know how old it was. The Mariners had a first baseman named Alvin Davis.

Alvin Davis came to the Mariners and got a steady diet of fastballs. I guess he was a fastball hitter. Alvin Davis, I thought, was going to be the next Steve Garvey. He was a left-handed hitter number 21 for the Mariners. And out of the blue, I just remember as a kid, he had this great, I don't know why I remember this. But I was such a Mariner fan. That was back when you didn't have the games on TV. listen to the Marinery Games.

Alvin Davis, it felt like for two months was just hit, hit, hit, hit. I thought Alvin Davis was a 15-year all-star. He ended up being a decent player. But again, you do get these moments in time where a young player, nobody has a ton of tape on him. You don't know what pitches to throw to him. You don't, I mean, it's just, there's limited information on Brock Purdy, and he just tears a leak.

It's usually you get about three or four games on tape. Kyle Allen had a good month in the NFL. Then everybody goes, he can't make this throw. He can't make this throw. But Brock Purdy, John Middilcoff's like, you go look at his twitchiness and some of his physical attributes. Dude's a baller. Dude's way more athletic than people think. I'll see your Alvin Davis and raise you a Kevin Moss.

Does that name you anything to New York Yankees? I will never forget the summer he had. It was like a July 4th. I think he had two or three home runs on one. And I went and gobbled up all his rookie cards. I had so many of them. He was like doing nothing three years later. I mean, some of these guys, you know.

Now, Alvin Davis had a good career. And I don't know why it sticks in my head. But maybe it could have been a two-week streak. But I remember as a kid younger, being a huge Mariner fan, and I'm like, it's just sometimes you just get these moments. Young players, nobody knows much about him. And they, heck, Jeremy Lynn for the New York Knicks. He took over the league for like three weeks.

Lynn's sanity, baby. Remember that? Oh, that was incredible. You guys remember that. He was sleeping on a couch in New York. New York were like Jeremy Lynn, that's the NBA. Yeah. The world's best athletes.

And Jeremy Lynn for three weeks, he was so good that Carmelow was jealous of him. Oh, I remember that. Yeah. You're like, Jeremy Lin's, is he in the league? Everybody loved him. Carmelo was very unhappy. He was a better story than a player. But you see this stuff.

It happens. Yeah. You put Brock Purdy in that category? I think he's a little more real. What about the Jimmy G? What if we see him practicing this week, wondering if he's going to lose his starting job? No way.
