We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.

We're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
We go hour two.
It's a Thursday, Bills, taking on the Texans without C.J. Stroud tonight, I'll go Buffalo.
Yeah, that story on J. Helens is very interesting by Derek Gunner, reporter that, you know, there's a little, and I was told the same thing this summer.
Not the most popular guy in the locker room.
You don't have to be the most popular guy. Baker Mayfield's always been popular, but remember Baker Mayfields.
field in Cleveland. Obj's dad taking shots of him. The quarterback sometimes creates some envy and jealousy
financially and they get all the, you know, they get all the love. So, you know, I don't think it's a
Russell Wilson Seattle thing, but I was told this summary. He wasn't the most popular guy. He has
his own beat, goes to his own sort of sensibility. He's not a raw, raw hang out with all the guys
after the game person. That's just not who he is. Here is Jalen Hertz responding to the story and the
thoughts by reporter Derek Gunn on he has kind of been difficult for the staff because he kind of
does his own thing during games.
Not surprised by anything.
I mean, you know, this is kind of the nature of the position, like I said, but, you know,
I put my energy and I put my focus on trying to go out there and do my best and trying to learn,
trying to build, trying to take into things that I can to improve.
I guess I get a lot of attention when things are going well and when things are not going
so well. And so I never run away from holding myself accountable.
The criticism, what Derek Gunn had said is, you know, they practice stuff all week, and then he
kind of does his own thing. And let's bring on Greg Kosell, 46 years NFL films, joining us
now live. You know, let's just start with this one, because it's a story out of Philadelphia
that he kind of does his own thing, which I remember for years and years, you telling me, and I
wouldn't listen. You're like, you know, Russell
Wilson, it's like their
pre-produced ad-libs.
Like he's, I don't know
if it's ad lit. Is there a feel
that Jalen sometimes
isn't running the offense that's
designed for him?
You know, that's a hard question to
answer, Colin. I will say
this, though. When
you watch their tape, and you know me, I
solely go by the tape. I'm not going to
get involved in the Derek Gunn's story or anything
like that. But I will say this.
when you watch their offense and their past game in particular,
the one thing you definitely see is that it's rather elementary and remedial in their concepts.
And that's just what the tape shows.
They don't do a lot.
You know, we talk about other quarterbacks and other coaches.
You watch a Ben Johnson offense.
You watch the concepts that they run.
And other coaches, Sean McVeigh, Kyle Shanahan.
You don't really see that right now in Philadelphia.
Now, you know me well enough to know I don't rip coaches.
This is not a knock on Jalen Hertz.
I don't know what goes on in their meetings.
I don't know what goes on in their locker room.
But I can tell you that the tape shows that their offensive pass concepts are just,
they're rather basic and simplistic for the NFL.
Yeah.
All right.
You mentioned San Francisco.
Brock Purdy comes back.
He and Kettle have always had a thing where they just,
when you watch the Niners offense with Mack and then with Brock Purdy,
what, give me one thing where Brock Purdy.
Give me one thing where Brock Purdy is absolutely inarguably superior to Mac Jones and allows Kyle Shanahan to do that maybe he doesn't do with Mac Jones.
I think one thing that always stands out to me with Purdy is that he has a much more aggressive mindset throwing the football.
So he'll push the ball down the field.
Now, I'm sure some 49ers fans will say, gee, he'll throw some bad picks.
And it's not as if he's an interception machine by any stretch.
but he is far more aggressive throwing the football,
and I think he sees the game a little more aggressively like that.
I think the kiddle touchdown last week, not the one we just saw,
but the first one, the 30-yarder, is a good example of that.
This is it, because he checked to that at the line of scrimmage.
He changed the formation.
He knew what he had, and he threw a slot fade.
Now, I'm not saying Mack Jones isn't capable of that,
but I just think that Purdy, mindset-wise, is far more aggressive in his mentality of how he sees the game and the throws that he will make.
I made an argument this week.
When Sam Darnold came out, I said he's a bit of a poor man's Andrew Luck.
He's reckless, big, strong physical.
And it's interesting.
Sure.
Andrew Luck had nine games in his career with three or more picks.
Sam Darnold has nine games in his career with three or more picks.
The worst game Luck had was a lot of.
a four-pick game against Belichick. What was Darnold's worst game? Well, it's Shula of the Rams
and a couple Belichick games. So they're similar. I think Lux better. I think Lux better.
But when I watch Sam, I'm like, listen, part of what makes Sam interesting is that he really is
aggressive and he is not deterred after a pick. He doesn't care. Andrew Luck did not.
Andrew Luck didn't care. So what did you make of the performance against the Rams?
Yeah.
Your thoughts?
Yeah, I mean, obviously the four interceptions.
So you have to look at each one individually,
and you have to evaluate that as individual plays.
And there were two that were really, really bad.
I try to, when I watch an interception,
particularly one that's bad, Colin,
what I try to do is get in the head of the quarterback
and try to see, okay, what is he seeing?
How is he seeing this?
Why did he make that throw?
Because when you see it, you go, oh, my God.
How did he throw that ball?
But obviously, he didn't throw the ball intentionally to hit the defensive back between the numbers.
So I try to get into the head of the quarterback based on the route concept, the coverage.
And I can understand, I think, why he made some throws.
There was one that was really bad where, I think it was the last one where he sort of panicked,
and I think he had a throw that he could have had.
It's this one right here that we're looking at now.
But the others, I could give you reasons why I'm.
I think he made the throws.
Obviously, the result wasn't the same.
But you made a great point.
And in fact, I said to one of my guys, when I was watching this tape, I said, boy,
after an interception, he's not shy.
He just comes back and he's going to throw the football.
And I think that's a positive trade in the quarterback.
All right.
So Drake May, I think New England thought he was going to be good.
I'm not sure if they thought he was going to lead the league in accuracy by the beginning of year two.
Does Drake may have a weakness to this point?
anything that a top defensive coach could trick him or sucker him into.
Well, that's, you know, I don't want to say he doesn't have a weakness. I'll tell you why,
because you know he's going to have a bad game. I mean, every quarterback's going to have a bad game
or a game that's less than good. And then we're going to say, oh, look what they did to him.
So I'm not going to sit here and say, God, this guy's, you know, on his way to the Hall of Fame right now.
But I think when you watch his tape, you see a very calm, composed, calculated player who knows where to go with the
football. He doesn't really make the kinds of throws where you say, God, what's he doing? Why is he
making that throw? I think the thing that's really stood out to me has been his ball location,
Colin. His ball location has been really, really precise. And I think that that's something
that is often overlooked. I mean, if you reduce quarterback play to its simplest terms, it's throwing
to the right receiver at the right time with the right kind of throw. That's what quarterback play
ultimately is. And he's been doing that at a really high level.
So let's go back to Denver's win over Kansas City, because that was the game of the day.
Sure.
Along with Seattle Ram. So let's start with Bo Nix, who had struggled on opening drives.
This one, he moved the ball. So he's been great late. He has struggled early.
I felt watching him a little less frenetic. I thought, I just felt like he was running the
offense a little better. And I know it spags.
Chris Jones played well.
What did the film say about Bo, his pace, his tempo, his rhythm, his confidence?
You know, he may be one of those guys, Colin, that just has uneven plays,
where at times you just look at the play and you go, God, he's moving for no reason.
He's moving unnecessarily.
He does that.
He did that in this game.
But then he also has really good plays where he looks very calm and very comfortable and sees it
clearly. So obviously he's only in his second year, so I'm not going to sit here and paint him
with a brush for his whole career and say he's always going to be like that, but he's still
working through that to a certain extent where there are just plays where it seems as if he
almost invents and creates his own pressure for no reason at all. But then he looks very
calm and composed, and it's just hard to get a read on it. Now, obviously, because he looks
common composer in the fourth quarter, he's getting a reputation as he's a clutch quarterback.
But I'm sure Sean Payton would like to see him play that way through four quarters.
Right. Let's go to Kansas City. Could I argue that one thing, the one thing that Mahomes has never
been able to overcome is a really bad tackle, left or right, is that's the time he's been
blown out in Super Bowls. And that really Kansas City's offensive issues come down to this.
their protection,
Tuny left, elite interior linemen,
right tackle is a massive concern.
It's probably what they're drafting
with their first pick next year.
And it just comes down to this.
Mahalms has a very average
offensive lineman in that group.
They miss Tunney,
and he doesn't trust the O line.
Is it that simple?
You know,
no, I think there's a larger context here to the Chiefs.
Let's remember over the last two years, Colin,
they've not been a high-scoring offense.
okay and I think a lot of people lose sight of that and this is no knock on Mahomes as a
player we know what he is we know he's a great player that's not the point I'm making
but I think one thing that has changed this year which has impacted Mahomes and
it impacts their whole team is the defense on third down in particular has not
been as good keep in mind over the last two three years their defense has been
phenomenal they have not given up many points I think they've given up less than
18, 17 points a game over the last two, three years. They were phenomenal on third down.
This year it's not been quite the same. And that puts a little more of a burden on your
offense. I mean, we're just seeing Mahomes throw an interception here. And again, when you get
into these plays that are second reaction outside of structure plays, of which Mahomes
has been special in his career, Josh Allen has been special in his career. But those are
hard plays to always count on every single week. And if you're a deal, you're dealing, you're
defense is putting you in a position where it seems like you have to make those plays every week.
They don't always happen.
Yeah.
Okay.
I actually think people say it's just the Raiders.
But Philadelphia and Dallas play, and I think Dallas has a puncher's chance.
First of all, they're getting excellent receiver play, excellent running back.
The O line, the O line is young, and in past protection, it's very uneven.
think they're a little bit better blocking for the run,
or maybe that's DeVante Williams.
But here's the thing.
So I said I defended the Micah Parsons trade
because it's a good NFL draft.
They have two first round picks.
It's a good linebacker and edge draft.
And I said they're going to get a cheaper Micah somewhere
or something close.
And they're going to take both those picks will probably be defense.
So I said, I get it.
They're paying CD.
They're paying DAC.
They're paying a lot of money.
But I watched them against the Raiders,
and they were healthy.
And overshone was back.
And that second round pick was healthy.
And then Quinn and Williams looked like Robert Salas, Quinn and Williams.
And I said, you know that?
I said, now that they're healthy on defense, they're getting pressure on the quarterback.
They're getting their athletic looking.
So I think, I'm not saying this is a playoff team.
But I watched them, and I didn't think it was just because it was the Raiders.
I look at them and I think, you know what?
if they nail two first round picks
Caleb Downs, Ohio State,
maybe an edge rusher, I don't think
they're miles away. What do you
make when you watch Dallas?
Athletically, draft picks are young players.
Well,
to me, this game
is about their offense versus the Eagles
defense, because the Eagles defense is
really, really good, and they've been phenomenal
over the last five games.
I mean, they've only allowed, I think,
quarterbacks to complete about 55
percent. But this is a fascinating matchup because you're going to get a receiver in George
Pickens, who lines up is what we call the Boundary X, the single receiver to the short side of the
field more than any other receiver in football. And the boundary corner for the Eagles is
Quinnion Mitchell. That'll be a fascinating matchup. We know that Lamb is phenomenal as sort of
a Z, a movement receiver who can line up anywhere. They've got a strong run game. The main thing,
can they protect Dak Prescott? You're right about the O line.
It's a little uneven, but it has some talented players.
I'd be very concerned about the Jalen Phillips-Torrent-Steel matchup
on the right side of their old line.
Because Jalen Phillips, I mean, he ran by Penae Soule last week and caused problems.
So to me, that side of the ball will dictate the outcome of this game.
Okay, I want to talk Rams, Seattle.
I want to talk specifically Rams.
So the reason their defense is good, some of it is just they have not missed on a defensive draft pick in two or three years.
They got a lot of speed and a lot of power and a lot of good guys.
And they've,
Emmanuel Forbes coming over is now some length at corner.
They have very good personnel.
Offensively, what's fascinating is I like their personnel as well.
But they do have these stretches, and you saw it in the second and third quarter,
where it just stalls.
And we know McVeigh is gifted.
We know, I mean, we know, I mean, Puka, Devante, Tide, Tide End, Kairn Williams.
Explain why, and is it maybe just a lack of Stafford mobility, he's one of the last pocket guys.
Why does their offense stall at times?
You know, that's a hard question.
I mean, this week they played a very good defense.
I mean, they've done a lot of things.
McVeigh is very creative.
I mean, we know that Higbee just went on IR, so we'll see.
But they've been playing a ton with three tight ends, 13 personnel, one back in three tight ends.
last month, last four games, well over 40% of their offensive snaps.
Now, will that continue without Higby?
They still have three other tight ends.
We'll find out.
And it's funny because in that 13 personnel package, Nekuin never plays.
It's usually Devante Adams, almost always, Devante Adams is the wide receiver.
But, you know, offensively, they're very good.
You know, it's hard to be great every possession, and they just play to Seattle defense that's really, really good.
I think their run game has been a little inconsistent, and that might be one reason, Colin.
I think last week they ran the ball pretty well against, or Williams had a couple of really good runs against the Seattle defense.
But last week they played a very good defense.
Seattle's got one of the better defenses in the league.
Yeah, other thing about the Rams is they don't turn it over and they never get penalized.
They are the cleanest team in the league for the second year.
No.
Okay, Josh Allen plays Houston tonight.
No C.J. Stroud.
I think Houston defensively is active and in phenomenal.
How does Josh Allen match up with that Texans defense tonight?
This is going to be fascinating because Josh Allen is, I mean, he's the most gifted quarterback in the league just in terms of physical traits.
And I think you'd probably agree with that.
And we know what he can do.
We know what he can do in terms of these special plays.
But they've struggled at times this year sort of playing within structure within the past game.
and you know you wonder can i'll get i'll tell you what i watch this tape in great detail obviously
and i didn't think josh allen had a great game despite six touchdowns i thought there were things
he missed now he does this a lot and then he often makes up for it and compensates and we're going
to show that kind of play momentarily and you'll see exactly what i'm talking about but this is a
really hard defense to play against and i don't think you can go into a game and say well josh is
going to make four special plays and we're going to win. I think this is the kind of game where
you hope he can do that, but there has to be a sense of structure and stability to their offense
where they sustain and move the ball. But let me show this play, Colin, because you'll see exactly
what I'm talking about. And this is just one of those plays. I mean, this is the Josh Allen
experience. This is what he does. Oh, yeah, I love this. This was that 43-yard touchdown.
Yep. And obviously, it's just unbelievable when you see it live, it makes you jump out of your
chair. And it was third and three. So Alan is in an empty set here. And what you're going to see is he's
going to look to the left side of the formation to Davis and to Shavers. That's where he's looking to
make this work. And it's going to be a two-man route concept there. You're going to see Shavers.
He's going to just run a little quick out cut. And you're going to see Davis run a curl route.
That's what the play is. And by the way, the play works.
perfectly. So you're going to see, as this develops, you're going to see that Davis is going to
be wide open. And Josh starts to deliver the ball. If you look at Josh, you can see start
deliver the ball. It's wide open. This is the play. It's third and three. Let's take the play
and let's move the chains. You can see there's no defender who can impact this play.
the outside
player's gone with Shavers
those two defenders are deep
the inside linebacker he's nowhere near it
he's looking right at him
you got to make this throw
and I'm always fascinated by how do they deal with
this in the meeting did they say hey Josh
you got to make the throw what are you doing
and now he runs so he moves to his
right and there's nothing to his right
there's nothing there so
now Colin as you know it becomes the
Josh Allen experience that we all
love and Shavers does a great job of adjusting his route he's just going to now run vertically and
Josh sees him and he does have great vision on the run much like Mahomes and he makes a throw that
you know I'm not sure a lot of people see this throw and make this throw but this is Josh Allen
so you know I'm always fascinated by these plays Colin because what I wonder more than anything
when I see plays like this is when they have their meeting on Monday what do they say to him in the
meeting. Do they say, oh, great play, Josh? Or do they say, hey, Josh, we had the third down play
mapped out perfectly, and you got to throw the ball. I mean, I don't really know the answer to that,
but he does this a lot. But the thing is, as you well know, you can't count on that to be your offense.
That's right. Greg CoSell, on a Thursday, Bills and Texans tonight, Greg is always great stuff.
Thanks, Colin. Appreciate it. You bet. We'll have a weather forecast for a
about 10 teams coming up before the end of the hour.
Also, Phil Sims stops by.
Josh Allen's insane.
You can tell when an athlete's great, when you,
I mean, there's a lot of years that if the bills were on,
they were a corner game.
If you put nine, 10, 15 different quarterbacks in the league
in a game, Buffalo at Tampa,
you know, you wouldn't make it the game of the day.
Josh Allen has the ability to get me to a TV,
regardless of who they're playing.
I'm just watching to see what he does.
Remember how I like to talk about when Dan Marino left the dolphins.
They were in the wilderness for decades before they could find a quarterback.
Remember Jim Kelly with the Buffalo Bills.
Yeah.
He was amazing.
How many Super Bowls are three, four Super Bowls in a row?
They were awesome.
Then nothing until Josh Allen.
You know, as a Jets fan, I know this because we're still waiting, Colin.
Like it's really tough to find a quarterback in the NFL.
Oh, especially one like Josh.

Hey it's us to Jonas Brothers
And guess what? We have some big news
What's the news? Huge news
We created our own podcast called
Hey Jonas
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman,
Help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the René.
Nays Stub's Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jenchian won.
I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin.
Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball like, after you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How hard can it be with Deanna Maria.
where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45. How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter,
and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask,
How Hard Can It Be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

Phil Sims, stopping by next hour.
J-MAC with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
I don't know, Colin, I mentioned the neuro gum yesterday.
I feel like you popped some last night because you're on fire today.
And I want you to listen to this.
Fernando Mendoza, one of the hottest quarterback prospects in the 2026 draft.
He was the topic of a podcast earlier this week.
Remember, Joel Klatt gassed him up on the show.
He liked him.
Well, take a listen to this, and I want you to focus specifically on Urban Meyer,
as this group talks about Fernando Mendoza.
When I caught the ball, I looked over there and I saw his hips turn.
His hips and eyes turned.
So that point, all I knew, I needed to just beat that boundary control defender and beat that boundary safety.
And once I saw that safety go over the top, the outside receiver defending the whole shot,
I just knew that I needed to put some arc and layer on it over that hook defend after that,
that kind of like the hook-furl defender in order to make that completion.
Because I knew the other guy, the Joker, had his hips to the speed.
Fernando, do you see coach his face right now?
Hold on.
Look at your face, Coach, my.
This is like the best I've ever heard on.
This is what I'm saying.
This is it.
Amanda, look at his smile.
This is as intense and happy he's been in years.
Yeah, I was told by an NFL coach of some esteem this week
that Mendoza is an easy player to comp because Indiana runs some NFL stuff.
And so he's an easy player to look at film and say, okay, he's this, this, this.
He can do that, that, that.
Because Indiana runs enough Sunday stuff.
stuff, pro stuff, Signetti.
So I think he is the one quarterback in the draft that is a franchise changer.
I think he's really good.
I think he's smart.
He's big.
I mean, just the description there to Urban.
I think he's actually right now being the idea that people think that Ty Simpson and him are in the same class, no, they're not.
This kid was great at Cal with Cal players.
He's great at Indiana with Indiana players.
A lot different having Kailin DeBore and.
And Bama talent, I think he's separated.
Dante Moore, I think, is gifted, but he's 20 and needs another year in college.
To my take, I think he's separated from everybody I've seen in college football.
So about six weeks ago, I mentioned this.
The Wall Street Journal did an article on Fernando Mendoza.
Just think about that.
The Wall Street Journal, okay, this isn't some sports publication.
This guy is getting a second graduate school degree right now.
He's a genius.
Legitimately, his offseason isn't, you know, throwing to a sports publication.
wide receivers in Miami. Okay, he's doing business school in the offseason and he's got
internships. This is a literal genius, Colin. And I'm telling you, he would be so good with my New York
Jets. Bring some stability and calm. Now, obviously there's going to be questions, does a nerd
like this fit into an NFL locker room, which is, you know, tough guys? I would hope so.
You know what? He's a smart kid and I like smart. I want him on my team. Yeah, I will tell you this.
Brady used to, you know, before Brady won Super Bowls and was cool,
Brady could be a little nerdy.
Payton Manning was never cool.
Andrew Luck was not cool at all.
I worry when a quarterback wants to be cool, you know, like that.
Johnny Mansell being cool mattered a lot.
Yeah, I mean, I, Kirk Cousins won a lot of games being socially nerdy.
I'm sorry, I'm okay with it.
This kid, and I'm serious on this, you know what I feel?
like I get Andrew Luck without the reckless.
That's what I feel like I'm watching.
I think he's this good.
I think he is Andrew Luck.
And again, Andrew Luck had Stanford teammates.
A lot of three-star guys at Stanford.
Not like Indiana's five-star guys.
I feel like I'm getting some Andrew Luck qualities.
Big, smart, tough, can move well enough, but a true pocket guy, but I don't get the mistakes.
Well, the real test will be if he could go to a rotten franchise like the Jets or the Browns or the
and elevate them. That's the true test of greatness.
Go watch him against Ohio State because that is three top 12 defensive players.
Matt Patricia, I don't think he's going to win.
But when he went to Oregon against Dan Lanning's defense and he tore it up in Otson,
really impressive.
Yeah, I'm a fan.
Jets just need to lose a few more games to secure Mr. Mendoza.
All right, let's move on to, oh yeah, we never talk about this guy, Aaron Rogers.
reports are now, Colin, that he may try to play.
Yes, try to play this weekend against the Bears with the broken bone in his wrist.
Now, we know Rogers spending many years with the Packers, hates the Bears.
He would do the celebration.
We'd joke about owning them.
Listen, here he is talking to reporters about the Bears.
It's a great rivalry.
I mean, in the history of all sports, you talk about the Lakers and the Celtics and the Red Sox and the Yankees.
you got to talk about the Packers and the Bears
and there's been some great memories there
when I first got to Green Bay
the Bears had the All-Time series lead
when I left
Packers did
since Jay Love is taking over
it's even gotten better
but I hope
I hope those fans can put that
behind I'm sure they can't
I think this is fascinating
because I think I want to see Aaron play
because I think he gives them the best chance
to win and I want a good game
you know, it's just how interesting are the Bears games.
It's amazing.
You get an offensive coach.
You get a young quarterback with all sorts of horsepower.
Bear games to me are must watch.
I think it's a real, because I will say this.
I kind of know what I get every week from Chicago.
They're going to run the ball a lot, and they're going to run it pretty well,
and they're going to be very good late, and the game will be close.
I kind of feel Pittsburgh week to week, blown out by Seattle,
and then can come the next week.
I mean, they can play the Jets and struggle.
They can get blown out at home, win on the road.
I never know what I'm getting from Pittsburgh.
They are a chameleon to the environment,
so I think it's a fascinating game.
Yeah, I don't know.
The line is saying that Rogers is going to play.
Remember, it was stuck on three most of the week with Mason Rudolph.
Now we're seeing two and a half.
I mean, listen, this isn't difficult for your bears, right?
Hey, I just looked at the weather report.
It's going to be like 40s or 50 Sunday.
no rain or anything.
So you got to Blitz Rogers.
Just you got to get after him and say, hey, we're not going to let you chuck it up to D.K.
Metcalfe and hope that he fumbles the ball in the pocket because he's got to be wearing
something on his hand with the broken wrist.
So I bet the bears earlier this week not feeling great about it, but go Chicago.
Final story, Colin Lamar Jackson.
Bad news yesterday.
Okay, this is yesterday.
He missed practice with an ankle injury.
Not great.
I just checked as we went live here a few moments.
moments ago, Lamar Jackson jogged out of the, you know, the stadium. He is at practice today.
So he missed yesterday. We don't know if he's throwing today. We're just making an appearance.
But this is a little troubling facing my jets. Huge two touchdown favorites, down to 13 and a half.
Tyrod Taylor, starting for the Jets. The Ravens have no room for Eric, Colin. They must have Lamar
because you saw them without him earlier this year. Not good.
They're fine. They're going to win convincing.
All right.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd Lie News.
Yeah, the Phil Sims is going to be joining us last hour.
Speaking of weather, we got about 10 teams here,
and there are so many things that now matter.
You know, for years and years, we always said this about Belichick and Brady in their dynasty.
They were a different football team around Thanksgiving on.
They were very beatable.
September, early October, then things changed.
Running games matter more.
Your schedule matters more.
If you're a warm weather dome team and you have to go two or three weeks in a row to cold weather.
So there's a lot of things to consider.
Are you a good home team like Buffalo?
How many home games do you have left?
Are you healthy?
We'll have our weather forecast for top 10 top teams in this league next.
In Chicago, it's the herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd,

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, news? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast.
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember
I think it was on a call about what we should call it
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it
One of the early names of our band
Before Jonas Brothers
This is how you guys remember it going down
Yes I have a very different memory of this
We were talking about a thing
A bit for the podcast
For people could call in and say hey Jonas
And then I wrote down on my little notepad
Hey Jonas and offered it up as a potential title
For the podcast
But thanks for remembering that

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis.
And I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs.
And on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay.
Genschen win.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got him in this.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's gonna be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nasree.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He run up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball, like,
Like, you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.

Sunday, a Fox NFL doubleheader starts with Justin Jefferson and the Vikings, taking on Jordan Love and the Packers or other regional action.

Well, it's entering week 12, gets windy, gets cold.
The weather does play a factor this point forward, so it is time for me to pivot to my
alter ego, Sky Bannister, handsome weatherman hair made of wood.
Here we go, J. Mack.
Give me the game.
I'll give you the weather forecast for that team.
Okay, Sky Bannister. What's the forecast for the Buffalo Bills this season?
Looks like unseasonably warm weather ahead for the bills. No buffalo temperatures. Why? They only play one opponent that ranks top half of the league in rushing. That is their Achilles heel. I don't see any Buffalo temperatures. They're heating up down the stretch. Buffalo getting hot.
What's the forecast like for the Steelers this season?
Stormy, flash floods, or they have flash in the pan?
Why Aaron Rogers is banged up, and the next three games are at the Bears, Bills, and Ravens.
It is a really bad time for Aaron Rogers to not be at 100%.
All right, Storm, what's the forecast like for the Ravens this season?
Clear skies, mild weather ahead in Maryland.
Why?
Byrds are flying north to their playoff paradise.
Three of their remaining games, bingles twice in the Jets.
Next three games are all at home.
I see clear sailing.
I see winning streaks, despite Lamar missing practice yesterday.
What's the forecast like for the struggling Kansas City Chiefs this season?
Not stormy or clear.
It's partly cloudy.
So they are playing some home games.
coming up. They've been good there.
But the season really comes down to this
week on the road against the Colts
off a by. So it could
be really those clouds
could move out of the way if they beat Indy.
But I think their season comes down
to Sunday on the road
or I think they're at home, excuse me.
They're at home. Daniel Jones
off a by with Shane Steichen, a healthy
Colts roster.
All right. What's the forecast like for the
Denver Broncos this season.
Clear skies, baby. They get their playoff picnic basket already made and set up.
Listen, week 17, Chiefs is the tough one that they won the last two against Kansas City.
12 and 2, the last couple of years at home.
This is a team that's got a lot of home games coming up.
Bo Nix, I thought was less frenetic against Kansas City than he was in previous weeks.
I like what I see going forward.
they'll retain that number one seed.
All right, what's the forecast like for the L.A. Chargers this season?
Stormy. Where there's lightning, there's always thunder.
They have backups everywhere in the O-line,
and they're going to face some of the best pass-rushing teams over the next seven games.
Chiefs, Texans, Eagles, Broncos.
What they struggle with is what they are facing over the next seven games.
What's the forecast like for the Philadelphia Eagles?
this season.
Well, as the show says, it's always sunny in Philadelphia.
Here's the advantage.
Week 13, they face the Bears, but under Siriani,
they're 11 and 0 against the NFC North.
Their toughest game is week 17 at the Bills.
By that time, Lane Johnson could be healthy,
should be healthy.
So it kind of works in their favor.
A couple of tough games, but they match up well.
What's the forecast like for the Detroit?
Lions this season?
Well, Detroit's season isn't black and white.
It's a lot of gray.
It's partly cloudy.
Here's what I worry about with the Detroit Lions going forward.
At the Rams, at the Bears.
But six of their seven remaining games are indoors.
You know who loves indoor football?
One Jared Gulf.
So it is, there's some clouds there.
at LA, at Chicago, Green Bay, a lot of indoor games benefits this quarterback.
What's a forecast like for Micah and the Packers this season?
All right, not to sound cheesy, but it doesn't look Gouda.
I don't know. I don't know, Green Bay.
Three of the last four games are on the road.
Four of their last five games are in cold weather environments, and they can't run the football.
I don't mind if you're playing in cold Chicago.
You got to be able to, Philadelphia, you got to be able to run the ball efficiently
when you're playing in cold weather.
Green Bay can't.
That means relying on down the field throws.
It does not look good.
All right.
We saved the worst for last.
What's the forecast like for the Chicago Bears this season?
I will acknowledge a little stormy.
Chicago faces hazardous winds ahead that could blow.
their playoff chances away.
Three truck, they got three tough roadies.
At Philly at Green Bay at Niners.
No easy games.
Even the should win games like Pittsburgh are tough.
They got to play the Packers twice,
Eagles, Niners, Lions.
So never forget.
Always keep it here for all your weather updates
with long-term award-winning meteorologist, Sky Bannister.
I like that Gouda line a lot.
That Gouda lines really strong.
Sky Bannister, huh?
Yeah, I mean, listen, I think the Steelers, the Chargers, and the Bears got stormy weather ahead.
The one thing I will say, the Steelers and the Chargers are not running the football well.
The Bears are.
That is a huge advantage in lousy way.
That's what worries me a little bit about Green Bay is that, you know, weather goes sideways.
You go, look, Baltimore.
Bad weather territory.
Another problem with Kansas City, if they don't beat Indianapolis, they're not running the football.
So, I mean, Xavier Worthy, is going to become much less profound in December and January.
He's already catching like three passes a game tops.
I mean, can I ask you about the Chiefs real quick, Colin?
So interesting, you have partly cloudy.
I just want to frame this.
So the Texans play tonight.
The Chiefs are battling them for a playoff spot.
Yeah.
Like legitimately.
They're scoreboard watching.
They're not used to that.
then the Jags play Arizona.
Like, they got, the chiefs have to monitor that.
And I can't get over the fact that off a by week, they laid an egg largely against the Broncos.
That is the, there is.
Do you think they were game planning at all at the same time for the Colts?
Or was it like, hey, we've got to beat the Broncos.
No, no, no.
I think there's a couple of things that are very true.
Chris Jones is not the player he was a year and a half ago.
He is not.
And when he's not, you know, Aaron Donald was getting double and triple team to the very last
game is a ram. Chris Jones is not as
dominant. When you take out, like
when you take out
you know, Bosa gets hurt
for the Niners,
you know, they wouldn't have a pass rush.
Right? Like if Khalil Mack tomorrow
got hurt for the Chargers, there goes
a big chunk of their pass rush. There's a reason
these guys on the outside, the Miles Garrits,
the Max Crosby's, the Trey Hendrickson, there
were so much. You can't duplicate them.
It's much easier in the draft to find
a running back or a wide receiver or an
interior lineman. Um,
Backs, left tackles and edge rushers, or interior defensive line.
I mean, Jalen Carter had a lot of baggage, and Philly's like, no problem.
Why?
Just the body composition.
There's just not many guys that are 340 with good feet.
So Chris Jones, for about a five-year period, was unblockable, and they could move him all over.
They could put him on the edge.
They could put him inside.
You couldn't block him.
You had to double him.
He's not the same player.
And now he'll have bursts, same with Travis Kelsey.
Travis Kelsey has games, but it does feel like he plays well when he has to.
He's not consistent.
So I think part of this for Kansas City is they don't run the ball well,
and they don't intimidate you and alter your game plan up front.
And it's the reality of Chris Jones.
Great player.
Very good player.
Last year, next year is the last year with guaranteed money.
You probably got to rip the Band-Aid off.
Remember, Lou Amaruno, the defensive coordinator for the Colts,
was with the Bengals for many years.
he's the one who schemed up that defense at Arrowhead to beat Mahomes in the playoffs.
Remember the game?
I think it went overtime.
Mahomes through the interception.
And the Bengals were right there with him in another playoff game.
So there's a world where he plays a lot of zone, mixes up the blitzes.
And Mahomes has not been good under pressure, Colin, at all this season, especially the high-leverage games.
And then you factor in the chief's inability to stop the run.
You know, the Bills had a 100-yard rusher against him.
Cook went nuts.
If they can't stop the run, Jonathan Taylor, in that offense,
line. I think Kansas City's in trouble here. I'm not going all in. I don't know if it's in headlines yet,
but this is like one of the bigger games of the season. Yeah, there's a, you know, the NFL has the
ability to create great games out of games that don't appear to be interesting matchups. Steelers,
bears could be very interesting. New England at Cincinnati. Joe Burrell was at practice today.
That could get very interesting. Jacksonville, which nobody trusts on the road, goes to Arizona,
You know, if Denver, if Kansas City can beat the Colts and Jacksonville win, it's a big,
and you know, Houston's going to lose tonight, and the Colts are underdogs to Kansas City.
That is a huge game in the history of the Jaguars franchise to go to Arizona and win,
but they're a dysfunctional weird franchise that you don't trust in big spots.
I also, you know, keep your eye on Dallas hosting Philadelphia.
Yeah, that's obviously.
That is a really interesting game for me.
Yeah, Colin, so the 4 p.m. slate on paper doesn't look good.
Jacksonville, Arizona, but then you've got Chador starting for the Browns, which is fascinating.
And I'm going to be honest.
I got some friends in Atlanta, and they're worried about the Saints Falcons game.
I know nobody cares, but it's not just the game.
Rahim Morris could be in some trouble if this season totally flops.
Remember, they didn't want to trade Kirk Cousins.
They could have tried to ship them to somebody.
Colin, it's not looking good for the Falcons at all in that coaching staff.
Phil Sims around the corner.
Two down one to go.
It's the hurt.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
