It's the herd wherever you may be, and however you may be listening. Thanks for making us part of your day. J. Mack, overjoyed with the Jets, finally getting Aaron Rogers. The Lakers, LeBron dominates late, as he is prone to do.

The Lakers are 18th in first quarter scoring, first in four. fourth quarter scoring. That is classic LeBron James waiting for the game to come to him and then seizing control late. That number makes a lot of sense. If you watch the Lakers regularly, you know how LeBron sort of waits for the team to get things going early and they generally let him down. And last night, it was kind of uneven. But I said this yesterday, I don't buy into Memphis. I buy into Sacramento. Even though Cleveland now is struggling, I like a lot of. about Cleveland. There's young teams that I like a lot.

I think Memphis is a lot of loud loudest guy at the bar. Thinks he's the smartest guy at the bar. They need two more elite offensive players to me. How about that fraud Dylan Brooks runs his mouth? LeBron's old. Blah, blah, blah. Bashing LeBron.

Goes right after him. LeBron attacks him. LeBron crushes him. He gets ejected. Then the next last night, overtime. LeBron cooked him. The guy, Dylan Brooks is on record in January saying he can't go left. LeBron doesn't want to go left.

What did LeBron do on the game deciding play goes left and won? The flex for the crowd, Calhurt. Tell me you weren't pumping your fist in your house. No, it was great. It was exciting drama. I mean, this is one of the best sports weeks, non-football season of the year. All right, we were talking about Aaron Rogers and J. Mack goes, well, where does he fit in the AFC today?

Forget the league. The AFC is absolutely loaded at quarterback. So if you asked me today, based on coach, coordinator, weapons, O-line momentum. Who are the top 10 quarterbacks in the AFC? Not going to count a Jalen Hertz or Matt Stafford if he comes back. Here's how I would rank them. Number one would obviously be Mahomes. He's got the smartest offensive coach in football, the best tied end in football, an above-average offensive line, and they are rolling. That's a locker room with confidence in him playing from a lead or behind. Nobody plays from behind better in the NFL than Mahom.

So he is the best quarterback in football, but the number one in the AFC. Number two would be Joe Burrow, who is the only other quarterback in the AFC that situationally, I feel, can go toe to toe with him. He's not quite as talented, but they have an offensive coach, that matters. An elite star number one receiver and very, very highly productive number two receivers and running back. They also added Orlando Brown at left tackle. So I think the first two are easy. Number three would be Josh Allen. Say all you want.

The kid is wildly productive. 35 touchdowns, and he's running for almost 1,000 yards a season. Aaron Rogers has stopped running. He's 6'6. He's 250. He leaps over linebackers, and he's done it with a bad old line and no run game. He is still wildly productive with the best arm, along with Mahomes in the NFL. Number four, I've said I think this is the pop year for Herbert.

They get Roshan Slater, the elite left tackleback, good weapons, Kellynne Moore offensive coordinator. And by the way, Herbert, with a lot of stuff to deal with, most passing yards and total touchdowns by any player in league history, including Mahomes with Andy Reed through three years. This year he pops. Number five, Trevor Lawrence. they are no longer a rebuilding team.

The best acquisition nobody's talking about is Calvin Ridley. They added Calvin Ridley to this team, the gambling issue. He was seven and two over his last nine games. They are no longer a rebuilding franchise. Most of their money on the offensive side. I think he's number five. Number six, Aaron Rogers. But defensive head coach.

Incredibly young offensive weapons, Brees Hall, Garrett Wilson, McColl Hardman. So I do think there's potholes. I also think he's not as committed in the offseason as the previous five quarterbacks, and he's older. I think he's out of his athletic prime. He doesn't run anymore. So he's number six. A number seven would be Russell Wilson with Sean Payton.

They have upgraded the offensive line with Mike McGlinchy and Ben Powers. They've already had good tight ends, Star Young running back. Sean Payton next to Andy Reeves, the sharpest offensive guy in football. I think Russell goes back to doing some foot. some basketball on grass, moving better. Russell at 7. Number 8's Tua. Listen, is he going to be healthy?

I don't know. But when he is, he's got a brilliant young offensive coach and the best speed weapons in the NFL. Not good, the best speed receiver weapons in the NFL with Tyree Kill and Jalen Wadle. Offensive lines OK, I don't know. If you tell me he plays 16 games, 15 games, I think they make the playoffs.

He probably plays 11 and they don't. but I put him eight over Deshawn Watson, who's a bigger, better athlete. They've got a very good offensive line and an offensive coach and veteran weapons. So Deshaun wasn't terrible last year, but he was rusty. He won't be rusty. Again, they add Elijah Moore, but he's not really the guy. This team has a veteran wide receiver and a better O-line than Aaron Rogers does. And number 10, Jimmy Garoppolo.

I don't have Lamar Jackson in it because I have no idea. what Lamar Jackson is. I'd put Garoppolo 40 and 17, 68% completion percentage. Jimmy's confident, played in big games, great in the locker room, not terribly durable, but I would put him over a Mac Jones barely. I don't know what to do with Lamar Jackson, so I left him out of the list. But when you start looking at Aaron Rogers, the Jets O line is just okay and missing left tackle. He has no veteran wide receiver. Your star back is off an injury, below average at tight. in. Now, they can solve a lot of that stuff in the draft, but Aaron's expensive enough. They can't solve all of it. And Aaron's also no longer in his prime, no longer runs, has a defensive

coach. I think it's totally realistic to put Aaron Rogers at six. Not far behind, but at six. Does that bother you? I think tour is a little bit high. Eighth, above Deshaun Watson? Well, I mean, hell, I would put Jimmy Garoppolo above Tua. I mean, what's weird is Tua has two great weapons in Tirek Hill and Jalen Waddle. And he's still only eighth on the list. Well, there's limitations physically. You think?

Yeah, I know. We all know. Nick Wright, Cahos, First Things First is joining us. Okay, was I too high on Tua? What did you make of the list? I thought it was realistic. Eight? Well, so you're just treating Lamar Jackson like he's not in the conference?

I don't know what he is. I mean, if he were in the conference, if he were eligible for the list, then I would have him right, exactly. I would have him right behind your top five, him and Rogers neck and neck. My other issue that I would have is I would flip-flop Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence. I think that Trevor Lawrence is ascending.

I think Josh Allen, each of the last two years, has gone in the wrong direction. And now he is, I think, smartly, recognizing that he can't run the ball as much. He's set as much in the past week or so that he's got to be smarter. While I think that is smart for the long-term health, that is a massive element of his game that to me overcomes some of the missed layups. Like nobody doubts the armed talent and what the top-level throws look like, but sometimes

the easier throws are missed. But other than that, I'm with you. I mean, you'll just never be able to quit Russell Wilson. That's fine. Russell Wilson will be on your couch as an analyst in a couple of years. You also have the top 10 guy, but we all have our blind spots. It's no problem. All right, let's go to an NFL topic before we get into the NBA.

So I said with the Aaron Rogers things, you can't judge who won the trade because there's different timelines. If we know by Thanksgiving that Jordan Love is Kirk Cousins with some mobility, I think Green Bay's feels really good about that. If Aaron Rogers doesn't make the playoffs, you could lose him. You gave up a lot. it could be a mess. So to me, whoever gets the star in the NBA trade always wins. In the NFL, there's some potholes with the Jets, the ownership, the O-Line, young teammates.

So I just want to see it play out, right? Like, I think Rogers joining that room to the difference between waking up in a windstorm and bright blue skies. I think the Jets will feel bigger and better as a franchise day one. Your thoughts. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like I can. judge who won the trade. I think the Packers did an exceptional job. I think that no matter what

happens with Jordan Love, the Aaron Rogers era was over. He was a declining player who was showing less and less interest in doing the things that you would need to do as a Packer with those young receivers to take the next step. And I think they got 120 cents on the dollar for a 40-year-old wildly expensive, unreliable in the off-season player. What they got in this trade was they moved up two spots in the first round from 15 to 13. That by itself would cost you probably about a third round pick. So call that they got a third round pick. They got the number 42 overall pick, and next year they will get the Jets' first round pick

unless something catastrophic happens, in which case they definitely won the trade. So I think the Packers did as well as they could have done, given the fact that everyone said, oh, they have no leverage. That's not how it looks to me. They got a first rounder next year, the number 42 pick and moved up two spots in this year's draft, and they clean up their cap after this coming season. And if you're the

Jets, I totally get why you did it. Yeah. You have not had consecutive seasons of high-level quarterbacking since Joe Namath. Vinnie Testerverty had a great year. Pops his Achilles. Chad Pennington had the surprising year. Brett Farve had a good three months. Last

year, Colin, there were 33 quarterbacks in the league that threw 175 passes or more. The 33rd, 32nd, and 31st ranked by passer rating were the three New York Jets quarterbacks. They had the three worst quarterbacks in football. So I get why they did it. But I would be very nervous if I were them. And I'd be very nervous about how engaged and committed Rogers is going to be. And if he walks after a year, that is a hefty price to try to squeeze. into the seventh and final wild card spot, which I think is about where this is headed. Yeah, I'd never forget, Aaron said I'm 90% into retirement. Like, that's just being overlooked now.

So you're not getting a guy in his prime. If I was 90% into my retirement, and I'm not, I'm not close to it. Now, I'm not close to 50%. If I was 90%, you're not getting a fully engaged me. I'm looking at golf courses every time I drive down the freeway. No, no, two points on that. One is that's what Fox told me six years ago when they maybe moved they're like cowards 90% into retirement and then you just kept signing new contracts they shipped me out to New York they're like you're never he's never going to leave

but the more importantly than that is even if Rogers wants to keep playing Colin what Tom Brady did to our perception of what a 40 year old quarterback is it's similar to what you know who's going to pay a big

penalty for what we are seeing from LeBron James all of the next generation of stars when they get older. When they're in year 16 or 17 and we're like, why aren't they still awesome? LeBron was great in year 20. Brady and LeBron are not the standard. They are the outlier.

And so all of NFL history tells us the Jets will be very lucky to get one outstanding season of a 40-year-old quarterback. So I just think it's a gamble. Listen, I'm a gambler. I get why they did it. You couldn't run it back with Zach Wilson. Mike White's not an NFL starter. I understand that, but it is far from a sure thing.

You know, I said to start my show today, the Lakers gave you a little bit of everything they are good and bad last night. DeAngelo Russell hit shots, but he was a minus 16. AD got hurt and left for a while. Dennis Schroeder makes turnovers that make no sense being in the league this long. Austin Reeves is fun, but limited, and LeBron put on a cape. It was really everything you get from the Lakers. I don't see them as winning the West. I think it just shows

LeBron James There's an interesting stat The Lakers are 18th and first quarter scoring first in the fourth And what that tells you is LeBron starts every game the same way He lets the game come to him

He is hoping teammates Allow him to just conserve his energy They don't So he's got to take over in the second quarter And then in the fourth I think LeBron's wanted to hand this baton to AD for three years And it's still He can't last night.

So I don't see him winning the West. Do you feel differently this morning than you did 10 days ago on them winning the West? Well, not drastically. I would have if they lost. It would have been a devastating loss. The Grizzlies were barely fighting in that first half. And then they let them back in the game, the final two minutes of the first half. Then it looked like it was going to get away from him.

And then LeBron James, who did not have it last night. He did. LeBron James, who could not hit a shot. LeBron James who looked gassed. LeBron James, who was begging one of his teammates to step up and credit to DeAngelo Russell because he did. And he hit three straight threes and got him right back in that game. LeBron James then did LeBron James things. And that is why that I don't think there is a team in the West.

You can say definitively you should have more confidence in. Denver, who is not playoff tested and Denver played LeBron and Anthony Davis in a series and it was around. Phoenix, who is already right now, first in playoff minutes, Durant, second in playoff minutes, Booker, ninth in playoff minutes, Chris Paul, dead last in bench scoring these playoffs, the Phoenix Suns, to get past a team without its two best players. Golden State or Sacramento, Sacramento's best players now hurt. Golden State is very fortunate to not be 3-1 down in that series and already dead. And then you have the Lakers, who yes, yes, they are a flawed team, but in a close, game late. There is not

a player since Michael Jordan you would rather have. And I want to throw a stat at you, Colin, that I was going to say for my show but you've been pretty good to me over the years, so I'll do it here. So LeBron James, you know, not that clutch.

Afraid of the last shot, we've been hearing it for 20 years. In his career, in the final second of playoff games in the fourth quarter overtime to tie or take the lead, is 7 of 12. Every other league MVP

the last 25 years in their careers are a combined 6 of 45. Wow. I'm going to say that again. LeBron James in the last second of playoff games,

Tire take the lead. He is 7 of 12. That is 58%. Every other guy that's won MVP in the last 25 years. Shaq, Kobe, Steph, Janice, Jordan, Westbrook, Nash, Duncan, Garnett, Dirk, all of them.

Six of 45. He is the most clutch player. Oh, Kobe including that as well, by the way. Kobe 2 of 8, I believe. He is the most clutch player that we have seen in this league since Jordan, and he and Jordan are head and shoulders over everyone else. And because of that, plus on the Knights Anthony Davis is good, they do look like the best team in basketball,

and we don't know what's going to come out of the east. with the bucks floundering the way they are and the Sixers and Celtics about to have a war. Listen, I told you Jay Max the gambler. I gave you the Lakers at 50 to 1 to win the title. Right now this morning, they're 14 to 1.

That's what we call value, Colin. Jay Mack knows all about that. You hedge outside of it if you wanted it. You tripled your money without having to do anything. I feel pretty good about the Lakers this morning. Okay, so I saw news yesterday, and I knew it just bummed you out. Deeran Fox injured.

And I knew you're like, could they get another break? And I'm like... Another break. Okay. By the way, Bogot hurt, Festus Azili. They fell apart against... Bougat, Festus Azele! You're bringing up Boget!

Deeran Fox lighting him on fire. You're bringing up Andrew Bogot. Let's go through the history, Colin. All right. 2015. Kevin Love gets his shoulder ripped out by Kelly Olinick. I'm still mad about that, but who cares? LeBron and the Cavs are going to win anyway.

Kyrie Irving breaks his kneecap. Ring number one. 2017. Kauai Leonard, lighten him up. Up 22 points. Game one of the Western Army's finals. Zaza puts his clown shoes beneath him. Never see Kauai again.

Ring number two. 2018. 65 win rockets. Have them down 3-2 in the series with home court advantage. Chris Paul pulls his hamstring. Ring number three. 2022. Oh, my goodness.

the Memphis, Grizzlies, tough matchup. They can't guard Jha. It's a 2-1 series. Jha out for the series. Ring number four. And now, Deerrin Fox, breaks his finger, and he might not play. Now, I understand Warriors fans. 2019 injuries cost you a championship.

They did. You would have won that title if not for that. But that's one. It is four, where your biggest competition loses either best or second best player. And I, yeah, and I'm sad for Deerrin Fox. Like, you know this, I don't know if the audience knows this, Fox played in the same AAU circuit in Houston as my son. I've watched this kid.

I watched him score 41 points in the first half of a running clock AAU game eight years ago. I watched him at Kentucky. I watched him get drafted by Sacramento, and people swear, good stats, bad team guy. All the smart basketball people last year killed the Kings for, rating Tyrese Halliburton for Demontes Sabon is saying, oh, you're really going to give the keys to the card of De Aaron Fox? And all he did this year was hit every clutch shot when clutch player of the year

and be the best Sacramento King player since Chris Weber. And it is a damn shame if he is minimized in this series. It makes me sad. Yeah. Well, you know what? A lot of those guys that got hurt, John Morant, Chris Paul, Kauai Leonard, they always get hurt. But, you know, that's another show. Those guys always get hurt.

Don't blame the Warriors because they're deep and well coached. I'm not blaming them. I'm just saying there are certain guys, and they seem to be your favorites, that just their whole sports life is just littered with dancing through the rain drops and everything. Hey, Tom Brady, nobody's heard of you. We're going to create a tuck rule for you. There's going to be a helmet catch that goes against you, but we promise we'll make the helmet catch up to you when your own guy.

Julian Edelman does his own version of it a decade later. It's so frustrating. All of it's so frustrating and it's always your guys at the expense of my guys. I'm not laughing at you. It's, it's kind of at you, but a little with you. Listen, your chiefs are winning. So I'm, you, you've got a lot good things going on in your life. You have an amazing family. You're all worked out. I hope you didn't spend all your energy. You saved some for the fourth like LeBron. You used a lot of energy there, Nick. No, I'm going to be fine. Here's the thing. My dear, co-host Kevin Wilde, who I adore so much, Secret Sauce to the show.

He mocked me on television yesterday because the Deeran Fox News came down and I was despondent. And he was like, you're pouting. We have to do a show. And I said on the air, you know, the same thing I told you, which is, you know, the history I have with this young man.

Sacramento, obviously, is where my wife's family's from. Also, the team initially was in Kansas City. I love this team. But I'm going to tell you something else. Colin, I know this will shock you. I have a significant financial investment in the Kings beating the Warriors in this series. And Harrison Barnes's missed shot combined with Deeran Fox's broken finger is disastrous for me. And I had to deal with that in real time. And now you're cackling.

Now you're just laughing. You and Draymond are going to do it in FaceTime about this later at my expense. And I don't like it. Well, you know, there's Uber. have to sell off your cars and your condo. You know, you can lift an Uber to work. Good luck to you and your family going forward. I thought you were going to say I can drive for Uber. Pick up some extra cash on the side. But you know what? Warriors didn't have Draymond or Gary Payton. It's the breaks. Go win games. Overcome. That is probably the biggest false equivalence you've attempted to make since I, join the show. And I will not stand for it, Colin. Gary Payton? I mean, come on. I like him. I like it. I'm not anti. It just so happens the warriors and the Patriots. I just tend to love so much about them and they're

my team. Do you love the Patriots? Well, no. I lived in New England for 10 years. I'm sorry about that. I watched their preseason. I just thought I like smart. I love the heels, the intelligence of Spolstra, Batti, LeBron, wait. I like the Patriots. I like the Patriots. I like the Warriors.

I'm not into the flashy, most talented team. I like people that can win by strategy, out-thinking you, better situationally. I love that. Now, Kansas City is both. The Chiefs are flashy like the Warriors and brilliant. But that's the Warriors. Well, aren't the Jets flashy too? Sauce Gardner with the chains, Garrett Wilson, Breeze Hall.

These guys have played in the league for an half hour. We don't know anything about their offense. It feels like Deer & Fox has been in the league for half an hour. That's how rarely you've talked about. Remember when you wouldn't let me talk about the Kings on this show? No. Earlier this season. Now, I always say we're in the omelet business, not the egg business.

We're not here to create. It has to be created. Then we'll talk about it. So this is a moment for Sacramento going forward. When we talk Kings, everybody's like, oh, yeah, the Kings, Deeran Fox, a bonus. We don't make the story. The story's got to be made. Then we'll talk about it.

Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. All right. Mike Florio is a nice guy. I like him. We get along. You know Mike Florio, right? He runs a poor football talk. No, I know that, but I think I've met him maybe once. So he did something today on this Aaron Rogers trade that really ticked me off. So I kind of wedge this story in. So the Rogers deal's done, the Packers got a second this year and a six this year, the conditional second next year. If Rogers plays like 65% of the stats, it becomes a one.

Yeah. But Florio, who, listen, he knows football, obviously. He's saying that the Jets got fleeced in this trade with the Packers. Fleeced. He actually used that word. Now, you look at this, 13 and 15. The Jets are word drafting 13. They fall down to 15.

The Patriots are in between at 14. I think the Patriots are hurt more than the Jets because they want the kid Jackson Smith, the Jigba, the wide receiver. They're probably not going to get him if the Packers go grab him with the 13th big now. Well, if Jordan Love is a bust, then who got fleeced? I mean, Jordan Love really controls a lot of this because Aaron's only going to play one to two years. Well, that's it. We don't know how long he's going to play, and that's tough.

It's tough to project the head. We don't know if the earth's going to be standing in a year, right? Who knows what Aaron Rogers is going to be into a year? I mean, Green Bay still has to pay the big part of this salary this year, not the Jets. And so if Aaron is a one-year guy, I mean, again, it comes down to if Jordan Love can really play, then you feel good about this. And you know, do you think Jordan Love can play? You think so.

I don't know so. The odds right now say they are the longest shot to win the division, that dumpster fire of the division. No, it's seven-and-a-half. The Lions, Vikings, and the Bears. Yeah, they're over-under as seven-and-a-half wins. Yeah. So I don't know. I've said before, I know he's not great and I know he's not terrible based on the Green Bay actions. Is he, what if he's Jimmy Garoppolo with a little mobility? Well, they don't. Their defense got just housed last year. Remember, the Jets went into Lambo and beat Aaron Rogers and the Packers.

Yeah. They ran all over that defense. The defense was not great. I don't see anybody getting fleeced. I do think, as Nick Wright pointed out, Aaron was 90% retired. it's very possible Aaron comes in and gets annoyed as hell with the old line and the young skill people and like by Thanksgiving is over it. Checked out. Yeah. And it wants to golf. I think that's very possible. It's also possible simultaneously.

Jordan Love ain't it. So the truth is, both of these teams could have been the big loser that you gave up draft picks for Aaron. And by Thanksgiving, he's getting sacked too much. He doesn't want to put in the time with the young guys. And he wants to go play golf in Jersey. That's possible. Again, I would agree with you, but the fleeced really just annoyed me. This is just people trying to go with the Jets, take jabs.

That's fine. Let's see what happens. The Jets now have some extra cap room to work with. There is a chance they make one or two more moves. DeAndre Hopkins makes a ton of sense to me. There's some guys that are talented still out there, both sides of the football. And, oh, by the way, the Jets did move up about 37 picks later in the draft. And I will remind people that the Jets, outside a quarterback and left tackle have been

awesome drafting with Joe Douglas. He's done a tremendous job. Yeah. You know, people can knock this roster. You put them up. We should do this if you're into it. Oh, good God. The Dolphins roster and the Jets roster.

Oh, God, nobody wants that. Five, Jets and Bills. Can we do that? Let's not put rosters up. Five, depth chart. That sounds like Dungeons and Dragons for sports fans. All right, we'll move on. Jalen Hertz became the highest pay player in the league.

Five years, $255 million. Despite the huge deal, he is keeping the same mentality, heading into next season. He made a strong statement about how he feels about this contract. Jaylin, you said that the Super Bowl, you had a purpose before anybody had an opinion. Now you're the highest paid player in the league. I mean, how satisfying is that for you? Yeah, I think money is nice.

Championships are better. By the way, let's show that picture again, Staff. Show me a picture of Jalen Hertz. Looks like a CEO. Yeah, that's what a franchise quarterback looks like. Not his hat on backwards, not being snarky with the press. Sorry all you fanboys. I've been right every time.

Baker, Mansell, Winston, goofballs can't run this. Cam Newton. That is what a franchise guy looks like. Ready to do business, respectful of the franchise of Toyota. He knows this picture is going to go all over that city. And he wants that fan base and that organization. And that owner to know, you got an adult in the room. Look at that.

He looks like the general man. He could be the commissioner he looks like. He's a president. He looks regal. He's got on a green suit. He's sending a message to the owner, to the fans, to the advertisers, to the entire community. You got a grown-up. You committed to me.

I'm going to commit to you not only physically, but emotionally, I'm going to commit to you. You got a guy. And you all love the joke about all this stuff. and you find a picture of Aaron Tom Brady with his hat backwards. And, you know, these press conferences with a big bank in the back and the owner, this is an adult position. You've got to be able to handle the press conference and not start forest fires every Wednesday because you're taking shots at media nerds.

I'm starting to love. Jalen Hertz is... Lots of like about this guy. He's a good kid. He's ascending and he's a grown-up. Yeah, I told my kids, I was like, you know, this guy got. benched in the national championship game in college football. Benched. Undeterred. His backup comes in and wins the title.

And you're like, oh my gosh, how do you rebound from that? Well, just going to transfer to Oklahoma and, you know, do pretty well at Oklahoma, go to the NFL. Like, he's a great story. Everything about this. When I have my little company and I make hires, first thing I do is go to your social media. If you can't handle social media, you're off. Like, it matters. Like, how do you handle yourself? How do you manage yourself? It matters. Mahomes doesn't get in trouble. Herbert Hyde, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence. You notice they all have something in common.

They're not all big, tall, fast, big arms. You can give the franchise to him. Jalen Hertz. By the way, as great as Aaron Rogers is, kind of doing his own thing. It's like, it's a turnoff. So should I be a little concerned that you don't follow me on Instagram yet? Like, is that a sign that you're not into my bathroom selfies in my workout videos? I don't follow anybody.

Okay, just make it sure. I don't even have to buy password. I don't even know how to get on Instagram. Wow. What about face snap? Face snap. That's the one Veloc. That's the one. I don't do that one either.

Final story. The draft is Thursday. CJ Stock's, CJ Stroud's stock is maybe plummeting. At what point he was expected to be in the mix for the number one pick. According to Peter King,

regular guest on this show, Stroud is no lock to be taken in the top seven. Seven. Now, I think, off the top of my head, Falcons at 8, I thought Tennessee at 11 makes sense.

I think he's a first round quarterback. But I don't see the juice. Well, let's go through them real quick. Are the Raiders taking them at 7th? I don't think so. They just got Carapol. Are the lions? I think there's a decent case for that.

They're going to get, let me tell you something. If Jalen Carter's available, they're taking it. Right. Seahawks do need a quarterback. Gino's not signed to a long deal. But Pete Carroll, he's already got C.J. Stroud. It's called Gino Smith. He would go for like a Will Levis with a huge armor.

He took Gino's with nine seasons to become, to have one good year. And again, C.J. Stroud's comp is more like Jared Gawford, Gino. I can see Pete saying, give me Will Levis his armor, Anthony Richardson's physical talent. I can see Pete doing that. I don't see Pete taking C.J. Strout.

I'm sure I could be wrong, obviously, but I don't know. Pete is, Pete likes unique unicorn athletes or, you know, Like Russell Wilson ran around like nobody else did. Even when they had Russell Wilson, they went to Wyoming to watch the pro day for Josh Allen. Huge arm. Like Pete likes athletes that he can mold.

I think C.J. Stroud, this is what he is. I don't see the juice of the next level. So Houston Texan's are at two. Their coach, D'Amico Ryan's, was in for San Francisco. Their offensive coordinator, I believe, was in San Francisco as well. Would you rather draft C.J. Stroud second or trade for Trey Lance and bring him on as your potential quarterback. Neither. Neither. No, I would stick with what I got.

I would trade down and get more picks or I'd take Will Anderson. You know that, how much of an indictment that is of Trey Lance. If two coaches on your staff worked with him, know him, were in the building with him and both are like past. Half of these first round quarterbacks don't make it. It's not an indictment. It's a reality. This is the world we live in. Now, half these

I will say the Jets and Aaron Rogers do get one break. They get the NFC east and they get the NFC South. So there's a lot of winnable games. If you look at the jet schedule this morning, just look at the quarterbacks they face. You know, they're going to have a decided quarterback advantage. So, I mean, they get Sam Howell with the commanders, Davis Mills with the Texans,

Desmond Ritter for the Falcons, all at home. So, you know, those are incredibly winnable games. They also get two at home, but you don't know, you know, when is he healthy? And on the road, they get the Sean Payton Russell Wilson reboot. They get Garoppolo, they get Daniel Jones and Deshawn Watson. So you can talk your way in. I think 10 wins. I mean, here's the games.

The two toughest games are Kansas City and the Chargers and the Eagles at home. Those are tough games, but they get all of them at home. So they don't really get out of division. I mean, winning at Denver, like there's a way the schedule would be bad. If you had to play, for instance, you know Russell Wilson and Sean Payton are going to be both totally dialed in in the offseason. If your opening game is Denver, that's a bad draw for the Jets. Because Aaron's not going to be as engaged in the off season as Russell Wilson is.

Denver also at home in that altitude in September historically is hard to beat. So if you get to play Denver, for instance, in Denver and it's October or November, that's a break for the Jets. Also, you'd prefer not to play the Chiefs early in the season. You know, Andy Reed tends to be a nightmare to face in September. So there's a way this schedule works against the Jets. Denver and the Chiefs very early is not the Jets in their favor. But there's a lot of average quarterbacks.

There's a lot of Ws at home. Atlanta Texans commanders at home feel like Ws. And I'm sorry that, you know, the Giants you're playing in the same stadium. Cleveland, Raiders. We don't know what Russell Wilson and Sean Payton are. We think they'll be better and good, not great. So there's a lot of Ws here. I think the over under, if I was setting the over under, it would be 10.

The Packers is seven and a half. I would bet the over. I think they get to eight wins in Green Bay. I think they're eight and nine, seven or eight wins. If the over under was nine and a half on the jets, I'd bet the over. If it's 10, I'd probably bet the under. I think 10's where they're going to land. When you look at this schedule, what do you see?

So I, again, we don't know when they're playing. That is important. It is important. And like you said, we talked about it during the break. Primetime games. You know, you might have a quick turnaround where you've got to play a Monday night football game in Denver and then Sunday somewhere.

You know, it could be tough. Aaron and the Jets are going to get five prime time games. Teams don't love those. They don't want to play on Sunday night. But I do see no trips to the West Coast. I just see Denver and Vegas. Last year, remember the Jets had to come to Seattle. I think they had another game on the West Coast.

Like, this schedules manageable. say you this, Aaron Rogers owns the Cowboys, right? So chalk that up as a win for me. The Giants, that's basically in their own stadium. I don't think much of the Giants this year. Let's see about traveling to Cleveland against some of those lake, what are they called, the swirling? Lake wins. That can be difficult. So my guess is the Denver Bronco game is going to be a TV game. Russell Wilson against Aaron Rogers, that's going to be like a Sunday night game. And so, you know, if you get lucky and you have a buy week after, then you have their one West Coast trip. They're only going to the Rockies. So to your point, they're not going west. They get the

NFC South and the NFC East. So I think the Jets get some real breaks on the schedule here. And again, you do have to face Josh Allen. You get him once at home. Let's remember Jets beat Josh Allen last year with, you know, I think it was Zach Wells. I don't even know. One of the bad starters. I'm not worried about the bills. That's just, I'm not worried about them. Like they're good, but if anything, it feels like they're declining. Okay, I'm going to go 10, 6 and 1 Jets. If ties happen, you're going to have a tie game with Buffalo in bad weather late in the season. One of the Miami games, because remember, I mean, is two going to finish the season? Well, here's another one.

If you force the Jets to play in Miami September 14th and it's 96 degrees inhuman, that is a bad schedule. If I told you this morning, I said, you open with Denver, then it's Kansas City, then it's Miami. You could win all three of those games late October. That's a bad draw for the Jets. So the Jets is the classic example of it looks like a very workable schedule as long as it falls mostly in their way. It's not a brutal schedule. You get the NFC South. Right there you get W's.

I know you say primetime games aren't good. Colin, Jets fans have sat through a lot of primetime Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson in the last few years. And they have always gone very badly. I mean, wasn't the butt fumble on like Thanksgiving night or? Okay. So it says here the Jets over under is nine and a half. I would bet the over, but I think that's the right number-ish. I would bet the over Jets 10, and I would bet the over on Green Bay at 7.5.

You would bet the over? I would smash the over. No, somebody's going to hammer me for that. But not 9.5. I think 9.5, 10 feels like the right number. So you think it feels light. They're going to be inflated because now they're New York. There's gambling in New York.

I would wait for the schedule to come out. Yeah. If I get Denver and Kansas City later. Then you smash the nine and a half jets. If I get Denver and Miami early, then I stay away. And as everybody wants to point out, the Jets did beat five backup quarterbacks last year. Five of their seven wins were first backups. It is what it is.
