This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.
Listen and learn the hard way on the IHard radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

Oh, how are you? We're great. It's the herd on a Friday, second hour, wherever you may be, and however you may be listening. Thanks for making us part of your day. I watched the U.S. Open in L.A. yesterday on my little phone. That course has to get harder.
Then I watch United States and Mexico. Greg Burrhalter's back as coach. Doesn't bother me at all.
We will be talking about that in a little bit.
Holy cow.
Yeah, listen.
I've learned something watching soccer for 40 years.
Because I grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
You grew up in the Northeast.
So I grew up in Seattle and Portland, very big soccer towns.
I grew up with the Sounders.
I grew up with the University of Portland Pilots, the great Clive Charles.
I grew up in, I loved soccer when I was a kid, the NASL.
And it's always the coach's fault.
Anytime we got to the knockout stage of the World Cup, as the second youngest team,
There were 32 teams in that knockout stage, I think, or the World Cup in, we were 31st in age.
And we got to the knockout stage with a bunch of kids.
We don't have a single great player in their prime.
Not one.
And it's like Burrhalter takes the heat.
Bruce Arena takes the heat.
That's just the way it is.
You're going to cleansement.
Takes the heat.
That's the way it isn't Americans.
Our fans are delusional.
We are not Brazil, Argentina.
We're not.
We might be one day.
And I think this is the best group.
So here was Christian Pulisicicic, 3-0 over Mexico's, second.
goal right here right now.
Look out.
It's a wonderful ball from Weston McKinney to find Tim Ware.
Options streaking into the area.
Polisic back.
Post! He's got a second.
McKinney to Ware to the captain.
Policicic to Mexico Nill.
It's official.
The United States men's national team has completely, utterly, absolutely
seized control of the Mexico-USA rivalry, which is substantial.
Mexico just got one shot on goal.
This is clearly the most skilled team we've ever had.
If you watched that game last night, there were huge gaps in speed.
Our kids are young, athletic, fast, and skilled.
We can finally play on the ball, which has always been an issue.
We always had good hands, guys, goalies, and defenders.
The 2006 World Cups in North America, Dallas, L.A., New York will have games.
Home field advantage.
Trust your eyes.
This is a really good team.
multiple players right now are playing internationally.
Mexico has had our number for years.
They no longer do.
Now, we had a couple of players last night, get a red card, a couple of really, really good players,
probably won't help us in our next match against Canada.
Trust your eyes.
It's a really good team.
Alexi Lawless came on the show yesterday, and he talked about this rivalry for years.
Mexico had us no longer.
We own them.
We own them.
It makes me so happy.
I think the U.S.-Mexico rivalry is the greatest rivalry in international soccer.
Go ahead, come at me, I don't care, it doesn't really matter.
But obviously our proximity, our incredible history, all of the connections that we have.
And to your point, now that that pendulum has swung towards the U.S.,
because of a long time where Mexico owned us in terms of soccer,
and right now that is not the case.
How happy were you watching?
You and I both love soccer.
You're an owner on a soccer team in Mexico.
Yes.
When you watch that, isn't the most obvious thing.
We talked about this.
We can play on the ball.
We can take it.
We can move through people.
It's not just a singular way to score, setting up stuff.
We've got more skilled, younger, faster athletic players.
The gap in talent and skill last night was no, it wasn't close.
US looks so fast on the wings.
Polisic was utterly dominant.
They tried, I think, three different defenders on Polisic.
And he kept roasting dudes.
He's starting to emerge as that guy.
Remember a few years ago, it's like, oh, he's the next great superstar.
Like he looked last night like, oh my gosh, this guy.
How about where?
One of the better players in the world right now.
He's seriously in that discussion, like top 20 players in the world.
He was outstanding last night.
So exciting.
Fired up.
Fired up totally.
Maybe you want to get me in on that ownership or soccer thing.
We're always looking to expand.
You know, he got some pretty big names in there, but Colin Coward is a sizable name.
Chris Broussard, joining us now live from New York.
All right, John Moran.
25 game suspension as somebody who has covered the league for a long time does it seem reasonable to you
chris it does it seems appropriate i think it's long enough where uh it should serve as a deterrent
to him or any others that might do some of the things he's done um and it should it gives him time
to think about this for sure yeah it's cost him a significant amount of money i mean all told you're
talking 40 to 50 million dollars
close to $50 million that he's going to be losing.
When you consider that he lost $40 million by not making all NBA,
which he probably would have had he not had these incidents.
And it's not too long.
Like I thought there were rumblings about half a season, a whole season.
I think that would have been too punitive.
So we all, look, I've said this from the beginning.
When he started talking about he stressed and the pressure,
and even now today in his comments,
mental health, the statement he made.
He needs to use this time to get his mind right and his life in order.
He's got plenty of time.
America loves a redemption story.
So if he's smart and if he's a good kid, like he keeps saying,
I'm a good guy.
Well, if you're really a good guy,
you won't have any more incidents like this.
Colin, it is not that difficult to not play with guns.
Yeah.
All right, especially on social media or to not guzzle alcohol on social media.
Those are easy behavioral changes, so hopefully John does that.
You know, I grew up.
I was a little too young.
I don't remember some of it, but Bill Russell and Wilt had different styles,
but it was like the two best guys in the league.
One the great rebounder defender, one the star offensive player.
Magic and Bird kind of went back and forth.
LeBron was easily the best player in the league.
But there's been this back and forth.
Kobe and Duncan.
Duncan more methodical, less flashy.
Kobe more of a solo act, more willful.
I do think we're getting into a Yokic Janus for the next four or five years.
One, the Greek freak, runs the floor like a guard, can do anything athletically.
Less skilled than Yokic, the better shooter, the better passer.
But I do think we're kind of forgetting about Yonis.
The last two years before this one, when he was healthy, felt like the league was running through him.
So is it unrealistic to say, and I love it.
Two international bigs for the next four and five years are going to be our magic and bird.
Yeah, Colin, look, from your mouth to God's ears.
I mean, really, like, we should, we would be blessed if Janice and Yokic becomes the defining rivalry in the league over the next five or six years, right?
If they are the magic bird.
Well, remember, we wanted it to be Kobe LeBron.
We had commercials and it never materialized.
If we get this, it will be great.
And I think, look, right now I've been saying, and I believe it,
that Yokic is the best player in the world.
I did think it was Yonis just up to a few months ago.
I think it's probably a matter of personal preference.
Obviously, Yonis can do things defensively that Yokic can't
and impact the game.
That way is way more athletic.
But he can't shoot.
And that's a problem.
And so that's one reason I would take Yokic.
But I think who ends up going down as the greater
player historically will be the one that wins the most. And again, if we could get them to meet up
in a few finals, man, I mean, look, Magic and Bird had cultural implications, racial implications.
They resurrected the league. So you can't compare it to that necessarily. But on the court,
strictly on the court, it would be great if this kind of became that. Yeah, the sports been
globalized over the last decade. Luca, Victor Wimbunyama, they come in, they're loyal, they
work hard, they're humbled, they're great, they're great teammates. I love these guys be in the
face of the league. So Bradley Beale is a player. I think you and I have talked about this. I've been
a Bradley Beale fan forever. I just stopped talking about him because it was like, you know,
family likes D.C. I watched them at Florida with the Gators. I watched them in D.C. as much as I
can tolerate watching the Wizards. I think he's a terrific player. I think Miami's a perfect fit.
I hear Milwaukee. What are your sources say? What is your, because listen, Washington now is
finally willing with a new GM, Chris,
they're going to start this thing over, which they should.
What is your inclination on a very good 23 point of game,
adult grown up can defend a little?
Where do you think he lands?
Well, look, Miami would be obviously great, as you said.
And we'll see if they have the pieces to get him.
But here's the thing.
Bradley Bill has control over this, Colin.
Remember, he's the only player in the league with a no-trade clause.
And that's one reason Miami, despite not having all the assets that Washington might want,
Bill could actually direct himself there.
If he was like, look, I want to go to Miami.
I want to have a chance to win a championship.
They're close.
They need the type of player that I am.
I want to play fair exposure, a great coach.
Like, he could really guide himself there.
Wherever he goes, this is what's the interesting thing.
We have to watch it.
I think you're going to get to this in a moment.
all these teams that are contenders are going to be making moves to try to up in Denver.
And wherever Beal goes, could tip the scale in that team, really should tip the scale
in that contenders favor to at least get to the finals and play Denver if it's an Eastern team.
So if Milwaukee gets him, they're the clear-cut favorite in the East.
If it's Miami, then, I mean, you still got Milwaukee in Boston, but Miami would be a lot.
But remember, their problem was scoring.
And he is not a guy that's going to come and go with his scoring like a lot of their role players did.
He will get you those buckets night in and night out.
And so if he goes to Miami, yeah, they're going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Yeah, I would say.
And that's what's really interesting because I believe he will go to Miami.
If he goes to Milwaukee, I take the bucks to get to the final.
If he goes to Miami, I take Miami to go to the final because I think they're that close.
I think Milwaukee needs the reboot and they are.
But I think Bradley Beal literally tips the scales.
You know, out west it's interesting, is if I told you, Chris, you were a player, you were getting older, but you were a very good distributor.
And I said, on the wing is KD and Booker.
I'd be like, you're crazy to leave it.
I hear all this Chris Paul stuff.
Why in the world would he leave Phoenix?
He's a distributor.
He's not going to have the pressure to score.
And he may have the best shooting guard.
and four in the league at shooting.
I don't, why would he leave?
Yeah, look, we know the decision to release or possibly to waive him is all about money.
Yeah.
And so it really determines is he happy with the situation there.
And I also think it's on the Sons.
Like, Chris Paul is still a very good player.
It was top five in assists, I believe, this year.
14 points, about eight and a half assists.
The question with him is, is he going to be healthy in your most important game?
games. And if they bring him back, then they have to have that backup, whether it's campaign
or somebody else, that can get a lot of the minutes to try to make him available for the
playoffs. Because Colin, if he gets hurt in the playoffs, just like he did this year, then you are
now playing your most important games in a different way than you played during the regular
season. Yeah. You know, you just can't switch it on like that, like they thought they could
this year by playing eight games together and thinking they could win in the West.
So I think that it makes sense for him to stay.
Like you said, look at the clippers.
Can I count on Kauai and Paul George to be healthy?
The Lakers, eh.
I mean, I don't know if they're any better than we are in Phoenix.
So Phoenix is a great place for him to land or to stay.
But I think questions are on their end as well.
One more question.
Mike Dunlevy, Jr., who I covered in high schools now the GM of the Warriors.
I don't know this to be true, but I do feel like Bob Myers worked his tail off, and Bob Myers was not comfortable breaking up Steph, Clay, and Draymond, but probably felt it was time to move off Clay, but he just doesn't want to do it.
So you bring in the new kid.
I'm just kind of, you know, making it up as I go.
But I feel like people in the building feel a loyalty to Steph and Steph as close to Clay, but the numbers, they don't feel right for Clay.
That's my guess.
What do you make a Myers-out, Dunlevy Inn, and what happens with this group, the move they make?
Yeah, look, the owner's son, Kirk Lake, you know, is very involved, and I think that has something to do with it.
You know, he's obviously going to have, he and Dunlevee are going to work together, and obviously is the owner's son.
He's going to have the final say.
So I think that was a factor.
I think they'll bring back Clay and Draymond and make another run for it.
But look, we were talking about Bradley Bill.
if you, Clay has what, one year left on his deal,
if you offer Clay, now he's not young,
but he's expiring, right, in the near future.
So that might be appealing to Washington,
which has to match the salaries.
Like, I actually think,
I actually think Golden State should go after Bill.
I'm not saying they'd get him.
Right.
But they should go after him and keep Clay.
But, you know, you could offer Jordan Poole,
who you and I like, and he's there,
he gives you 23 points a game right off the bat
Jonathan Cominga
Moses Moody who both of those guys could be good
especially Cominga in the future
and then you got Bill with the big three
in Golden State
that's a lot of money so it's probably unrealistic
that's where Clay comes in
do you get off Clay's contract
and replace him with Bradley
who right now
you'd have to say it's probably better than Clay
so because of age and stuff so yeah that's
I think they're going to have to look at everything because I don't think, Colin, that they're ready to tear this thing, and certainly not tear it down.
But I also don't think they're really willing to mail it in during Steph's Prime.
I think they are still in championship mode as long as he's still at the top of his game.
Brew with a very, boy, that's going to get me thinking all weekend.
That is really interesting.
Chris, first things first after us.
Good seeing you, buddy.
Good stuff.
You too.
All right.
So, J-Mack, that's interesting.
No, no, just throw it out there.
So the new guy, Michael Winger, is running D.C.
He wants expiring contracts, draft picks, and young players he likes.
Kaminga, Clay Thompson, draft picks.
Clay Thompson's contract runs out.
I've got Kaminga, multiple picks, and the Warriors get a younger, better Clay Thompson.
That's not bad.
I mean, it doesn't sound bad in theory, but do you think that the Warriors are sending Clay Thompson to
rebuilding Washington?
And say,
Oh, Clay, don't worry, it's just a year.
After that, you can get a contract somewhere else.
They're not doing him like that?
What do they owe him?
What do you mean?
What are they owe him?
He's a splash brother.
Steph Curry wants to keep the core together.
He was a splash brother.
Now it's just a leaky faucet.
Yeah, and now also Bradley Beale's got to come into a locker room where they just ditch Clay for you.
Hey, no pressure, dude.
Dremont Green?
They got who punched out Jordan Poole last year?
By the way.
I don't.
So you bring Bradley Beal in.
Steph Beal, Wiggins, Draymond, Loney.
That's a great core.
Now, now, because we got younger and more viable at guard,
now I can move pool for a big.
Colin, this sounds great.
I'm on board with trading clay.
I don't see them shipping clay to Siberia to spend, you know,
as his career winds out, is a thank you for helping us win rings.
And I know, I know we don't look back.
We're not supposed to.
Is that the way I run a business?
It is not.
But they're not going to do that to one of their guys.
It's a mistake.
Listen, I'm with you.
Are you better tomorrow?
Steph Beal, Wiggins, Loney, Dremont.
100%.
Absolutely.
Yes.
Cumminga, you've lost faith in anyway.
Well, I haven't, but they have.
No, but they have.
They wouldn't play them in the postseason.
Cominga, Clay Thompson, and a draft pick.
Winger's trying to get young talented players that don't cost much,
draft picks, and expiring contracts.
I would make that move on both ends.
tomorrow. I would agree. But do you think the Warriors will do that? Imagine Mike Dunleavy's first move
as GM is to ship out beloved Clay Thompson, just ship him out to Washington. We'll see you later, buddy.
Enjoy the, enjoy the East Coast. I'd rather that be the first move than my last because I didn't have
the guts to pull the trigger on it. But that's probably why Bob Myers bailed. He didn't have the guts
to try to do something like this. I would rather go down making the right move. There's never a bad time to do the
right thing. I would rather go down in flames, making a move that inflamed a locker room that was the
right move, than appeasing everybody and holding on and repaying a player that's way past his prime.
Did you have a fortune cookie last night? Because that sounded like something you saw in a bumper
sticker or a fortune cookie. Repeat what it was. I said, there's never a wrong time to do the right
thing. You make the move. Ooh, you inflame the locker room. Get over it when we're winning games.
Nobody cares. Just to be clear, I would do it, America.
Erica, I would make this move.
Smart thing Broussard said.
I just think the chances of it happening are next to none.
I'm not anti-Klee.
I'm anti-Klee. I'm anti-Klai. I'm anti-Klai's contract going forward.
Agreed.
I'm not anti-clay.
And you could sell Clay as, hey, hey, guess what?
You've just got one year left on your deal.
After that, we'll bring you back.
Absolutely.
He's going to be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
what are you going to pay me when are you?
Well, we can afford me.
Well, by the way, then go to play in Orlando.
We'll bring you back off the bench.
And you can do your...
Ruthless. You are ruthless.
Ruthless.
I mean, listen, I'm with you, but that's just...
Because I won't overpay for an aging player.
I'm ruthless.
I'll tell you who's ruthless.
You would tell Clay Thompson, hey, go to enjoy Orlando.
See you later, pal.
There's no way the Warriors are doing that.
I think it's a smart move.
I like how you run a business.
Now I think the volume has a chance.
Jeez. Savage over here, just dumping guys who are integral pieces to the foundation of a dynasty.
They've paid Clay Thompson, $220,000.
million dollars. Yeah, how ruthless of me with a year left and he's not the same player to say,
we'll bring you back in a year, we're going to make a move to make us better. We'll bring
you back off the bench. Yeah, ruthless. And we'll pay another 15 million for two years.
Hey, by the way, Draymond ruined the chemistry by punching out his teammate. I'm going to say
sucker punching. I'm going to start using that for now. Sucker punching his teammate.
What's it going to do when you jettison clay and bring in Bradley Biel? What's that,
what's that going to do to chemistry in the locker room? Say, Draymond, we want to win games.
Do you want to win games or be lousy on the road again?
I think winning solves a lot of problems.
I always say this.
If you're going to be an oholic in life, be a workaholic.
If the money's good, it solves a lot of problems.
Your kids go to better schools.
You can drive, you know, wife get a better vacation.
If you're going to be an oholic, there's a million of them.
Be a workaholic.
It's the best of the o'holics.
Are there a lot of o'olics?
Yes, it probably are.
So my takeaway is it solves a lot of issues.
Mom's happy, kids are in a good school, your medical's covered, you go in a better vacation.
It's not perfect.
If you had to pick an issue, it's dad working a little longer than we want, or mom working a little longer than the family wants.
But my takeaway is in situations like this, you have to make grown-up decisions.
Nobody's life is perfect.
Clay, we paid you $220 million.
We love you.
But we can get Bradley Beal and be better and keep this puppy moving.
you've got to make tough decisions.
So you remember the New England Patriots drafted Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady was irate, hated it.
What did Tom Brady do?
Went over the guy who drafted him, Belichick, over his head to the owner, made his case and the owner's ship Garapolo out of time.
Yeah, Tom won two Super Bowls after that.
Clay Thompson's not caring to do a title.
He was awful in that last series.
That's a different level player.
By the way, I am pro, stay with Draymond and stay with Steph.
I'm not get the old guys out.
I think both are still elite at what they do.
Clay's not.
I have no problem overpaying slightly for people who are still great.
I see it in the podcast space.
People write in checks and it's like, what?
I got no problem writing a big check for a big star.
But you can't make me write a big check for somebody that's not ascending or not a star.
Do you think if this gains some traction,
Curry will go to Joe Lekob and the guys and say,
hey.
No, he'd never do that.
You don't trade Clay Thompson.
I don't think you do that.
I would not be surprised at all.
They're boys, man.
What are you talking about?
The Splash Brothers.
Steph is a smart guy.
He doesn't own the franchise, nor does he run it, nor does he coach it.
In the end, he can be mad.
And then you're saying, camps open, pass the ball to Bradley Beale.
After he hits a few jumpers, you're like, pretty good.
Got to win games.
I don't think I'm ruthless.
No, no, okay, fair, fair.
But how would you feel, by the way, having to go from Golden State, Dynasty,
final playoffs?
finals to Washington. How would I feel? If they sell me to vice or something here in 12 years,
I think folded up shopping, wherever they, every media operations. In 12 years, if they sold me to a year
after I had a great career and if they paid me blankety blank million dollars, it's life. I could
retire, I get whatever. You can't, you know, it's not, the trees don't grow to the sky.
You don't get the big money for them. I don't know what that means, but it means. Sounded cool.
It's like you don't make the big money forever. Tom Brady at some point.
point, Peyton Manning in Denver. Hey, Peyton, we needed you to take a pay cut. It doesn't grow to the
sky. It's pro sports. At some point, there'll be a lawyer in the law firm. He's younger. He's from Yale.
He's better. And the old guy is a partner. And it's like, Bob, she's better than you. She's smarter than
you. We're going to ask you to step down a little bit. She's now a partner. She gets the annual check.
Whatever. Like, it's just, it's life. I don't think it's, if you take care of somebody for a decade, I don't
think it's ruthless to say, hey, part of why we're great is we've moved off people as they've
aged. I think that's business. I don't think it's mean. People, though. This is Clay's core.
Again, I'm, I think this is a great deal, smart move. I'd be shocked if the Warriors did that.
Although, we would probably be celebrating. We'll be back in the finals. See a little gray in those
sideburns. We're going to start looking out there. You better look a little closer, buddy. It's
already there. One more herd? The herd streams 24 hours a day, seven days a week within the I-Hart
radio app. Search heard to listen

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only
legal but encouraged. It's the

the podcast's Superhuman documented
it all, embedded in the games

I'm Sam Jette.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick you here, unpack what?
went down and tried to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack, so I'm starting
to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now, so.
They're finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Irish Spring. How do you own the day in sports? Make incredible plays. How do the rest of us own it?
Irish Spring, when the spring hits you, own the day. Look for Irish Spring at your local retailer today. J. Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news.
Remember last year the Patriots had that quarterback controversy?
Mack Jones versus your guy, Bailey Zappy.
One of my favorite shows where you did the Zappy slogans.
Do you remember that?
There were some really good ones.
Don't play crappy or it's Bailey Zappy.
According to multiple reports, including one at MassLive.com,
there was never a quarterback competition coming into this season.
There never appeared to be a true quarterback competition this spring.
Jones took the majority of the quarterback reps in every drill.
He was constantly ahead of backup Bailey Zappi.
Jones also earned more reps and clearly looked like the best quarterback on the field this spring.
I know you're big on Mack Jones bouncing back.
It's just the kind of thing that gives them a vote of confidence.
Well, I think if they land DeAndre Hopkins with Juju Smith-Schuster,
we can say that it's a Jets Miami-Bills division,
but I've got the best coach, and I'm going to have arguably the second best defensive person.
Nell, I've got an interesting team.
What's Hopkins worth?
Half a win on the season?
Not even a fool.
I think DeAndre Hopkins, in an offense without a playmaker, is a substantial pickup.
Again, if you put him on other teams, no.
But this is an accurate distributor of the football with an offensive line that's pretty good that gives him time.
They don't have a star-tight end.
So D-Hop to this team is like D-Hop to Tennessee.
That's a winner to.
That's a game changer.
The big offensive coordinator upgrade for Mack Jones.
No, I think...
It's weird.
You feel...
I think you like this team,
but you just don't see a path to, like,
nine or ten wins.
No, I think as the game has pivoted to a weapon speed league more,
they're not fast enough.
And D. Hop's not a burner.
But now all of a sudden,
D. Hopper one,
Juj-Smiths-Schuster, a two,
and then they have the rookie from last year,
a three,
and it's like,
okay, that's a real team with Belichick,
good special teams,
excellent defense,
and a reasonable run game.
That's a real foot.
And again,
I think that Miami Jets bills, I think that division is going to be the toughest in the NFL.
But even with Hopkins, the Patriots still have the worst skill position players than the division.
That's how stacked this division.
Well, Stefan Diggs is super.
They don't have a two.
Well, they just drafted Kincaid, and they got the other tight end.
John Dawson Knox.
Caught a million touchdown.
But they don't have a second receiver.
Also, they have the worst old line in the division.
Buffalo?
Yeah.
They have a good center, and that's about it.
Giving the Jets offensive lines of props.
Nice.
Well, Jets was injury-plagued.
They get Elijah Vera Tucker back.
And Mackay Beckton.
Well, Elijah Vera Tucker is excellent.
Yeah.
All right, to soccer.
We're after months of drama and limbo.
Yeah.
The U.S. men's national team has reportedly found its new coach.
And Colin, it's their own coach.
It looks like, according to Greg, the athletic,
Greg Burholter is set to return after his contract was not renewed.
Remember, they lost in the World Cup, I think, to Netherlands.
Yeah, Netherlands was significantly older and better.
Yes, they were.
And then, I mean, Netherlands, hell, they almost beat Argentina, I think.
Yes.
And they had a draw against England.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And so then came out the Raina, Burrhalter stuff, a lot of planted stories that got ugly.
The U.S. Soccer Federation did an internal investigation.
They paid a search firm to find a new coach.
And again, here we are five months later, six months later.
And they're going back to Burrhalter.
What do you think that says about soccer?
I think Burrhalter.
I think Burrhalter.
my takeaway is
it was weird
they enlisted a search firm
to find the new coach
like stop it
I don't trust the U.S.
Soccer Federation much
but Burrhalter got them
out of the group stage
with the knockout stage
they lost to a
Netherlands team
that was significantly older
more physical and better
they did
for being the second
youngest team at the World Cup
they got out of the group stage
and drew with England
that's an absolutely
credible job as a coach
the one
the rain is
This stuff was a lot of...
Well, no, no, not that stuff.
Just the strategy and the philosophy, he tends more defense.
And I don't love that.
We saw a different team last night.
The U.S. team last night was not a Burrhalter attacking team.
All right.
Okay, let me defend him on this.
So Yergen Clemsman, people said it was defense.
My takeaway is, well, who do we have?
Clint Dempsey was like Josie Altadour.
When you don't have elite personnel, you have to play a defensive soccer.
By the way.
So now Burrhalter was more.
offensive-minded that Jirgen-Klinson because he has better players. This World Cup, we're going to
have multiple top international players. So Burrhalter, my takeaway, is going to be more aggressive
as his personnel is better. I thought his stuff, American soccer fans perpetually overvalue
our talent. The last World Cup, we were not a top 10 team. This, as all of our guys moved to
24, 25 years old.
Okay, now we are a top 12 talent team.
Now criticize Burrhalter
if he remains reluctant to attack.
That team was not an attacking team.
It shouldn't have been.
That's fair.
Now, some people would push back.
Hey, wait a minute.
He refused to play Raina.
Who's one of their more skilled players.
One of there.
Listen, Rayna was pretty impressive last night.
Distributing looked good.
Now, I know the work ethic wasn't there,
and there was a lot of teammates that were upset
with him not won in a practice hard once he find out
he wouldn't be playing at the World Cup, a lot of drama.
But overall, like, you're right, they've got the skill.
I mean, way up, ballistic, like, they've got a really damn good roster.
I don't want to get too excited about.
2006, World Cup is here.
North America.
Oh, I'm going.
I would hope so.
Do we do some shows live?
Talk to the bosses.
Yeah, you got their ear.
I'll go.
I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if, like, the World Cup finals out here.
I don't know if they've announced where they're out.
Dallas, New York, L.A.
Yeah, but L.A. with the time zones, you know, and the picturesque, the stadiums out here.
Isn't everything better?
Even the U.S. Open last night I'm watching it.
Isn't it?
It was like 7 o'clock.
It was so beautiful out.
I didn't.
Oh, it was nice.
I mean, it was too easy.
The course is too easy.
Too easy for who?
The best golfer.
Oh, I ate it up.
And chewed it up.
No, not me.
I'm terrible.
Final story to the U.S.FL are the league's top team heading into week 10.
Alex Magoo will look to build off his week nine performance

I know you've got a busy weekend plan, right?
Father's Day weekend, you're going to try to squeeze in some USFL if possible?
I'll try.
I got to watch the U.S. Open, though.
I also want to watch USA United States men's national team.
When is the U.S. Canada game?
What is that? Is that game Sun? What is that?
I don't know. I haven't seen it.
I have to go get my TV game.
My son's at a big volleyball.
tournament and I'm like
I've got to set a volleyball tournament
on Father's Day. Not exactly
thrilling. I'm expecting like ridiculous
desserts and just food
just shoveling in my face. And instead you're
you're a bus driver to San Bernardino to watch a volleyball tournament.
It's L.A. Convention Center, but there's a lot of Hurd fans
there were last time. Say hi.
Yeah, I'll tell them Cowherd will be here for the championship if we make it.

pot. All right, Jason McIntyre used to be a headline writer when he owned the big lead, sold it,
made a fortune. The newspaper guy is now in digital TV and radio. So we move tomorrow's headlines
today to this time on the show because our last hour is mostly on radio. Are you ready to go?
Fired up. Let's get some headlines. Tomorrow's headlines today, Victor Wembeñama,
first year in the NBA draft next Thursday. He's the obvious number one pick. Obviously number one
pick. There's some questions. You know, the body frame hold up as a rookie. Is he going to do well?
The headline will be, ooh-wee-we. French cuisine pairs well with Tex-Mex. Look at Webbingyama.
I think he's going to be fine. And I looked at some of the rookie scoring numbers, Colin.
Blake Griffin, 22 a game. Luca 21, Mello 21, Bankero 20. I feel like 20 points per game for
Wemigniama is the floor. That's the absolute floor. The numbers will be there for blocks,
rebounds. I do believe he will be an all-star next year, and I would not be surprised if they
push for the U.S. international game. Then you get Yokic, Luca, et cetera, and Wembe Yama in there.
But I think it's going to be a great rookie year for Wembe Nama. Very excited. A lot of TV time
for the Spurs once again. Yeah, he's definitely going to get me to a TV. Tomorrow's headlines
today, what say you with the number two overall pick? Yeah, so the big news is the Hornets,
Michael Jordan, just sold his stake in the team. So new ownership a week before.
the draft kind of interesting. The headline will be square root of scoot. Hornets double down
with G League genius. Scoot Henderson, I believe will be the number two pick. A lot of people had
Brandon Miller. I had Scoot in my last Fox mock draft. Colin, did you see who he was working out
with this week? No. The video made the round. Scoot Henderson and Steph Curry. He's a very
dynamic. Apparently they've cultivated a friendship. And I'm just telling you right now, if you're a
young player out there and you can cultivate one friendship in the league and Steph Curry and
Scoot was kind of showing how he is a three-point shooter, despite I think shooting like 30% from three in the G-League.
This guy is a mid-range assassin.
He can get to the bucket against anybody.
He played great in the game against Wemignama.
He's fun.
And I think you pair Scoot and lamello ball.
You've got the makings of something.
They don't have a lot else up front, but I like that back court.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Blazers have the number three pick.
Still have Damien Lillard on the roster.
What's going to happen there?
A little low-key.
This Bradley Beal stuff, I think, has hurt the day.
me in Lillard trade value because now, like, are you going to give up a lot for Lillard when
you can get Biel on the cheap? So it's starting to look like Lillard may stay in Portland for the
draft. The headline will be Miller time. Blazers reach in for a cold one. Brandon Miller,
the really talented kid out Alabama.
He is. Again, I don't think Dane's going to be thrilled. Maybe after the draft, you could
package Miller, Anthony Simons, but they like Shaden Sharp. Miller's a small forward maybe that they've
been waiting for forever. And they've got some really good sim.
They got some good young talent.
Shaden Sharp is very good, promising.
But they're just young.
It doesn't really fit Dame's timeline.
Maybe they can throw a Hail Mary in package, Nirkich, Miller, and Simons for something good.
Carl Anthony Towns, perhaps.
But I think Brandon Miller locked in is the number three pick.
All right.
Yeah, no, I mean, it's interesting.
Beale has disrupted Dame's trademark, no question.
Yeah, does Miami want Beal who's cheaper, younger, less of a contract?
Or do you want Dame?
Like, I don't think he's that worse of a player than Damien Lillard.
All right.
tomorrow's headlines today.
Now, this is a tasty one.
The Lakers have the number 17 overall pick.
I am very keenly interested on this opinion.
So there is a lot of chatter that the Lakers want to trade down.
They want to get veteran, more picks.
They've got some stuff cooking.
I think they hold firm at 17, and the guy they're going to get,
the headline will be, see you in hell A.
Lakers make deal with Blue Devil.
Duke has a seven-footer named Derek lively, who was a promising high school player.
A little Tyson Chandler in his game coming out of high school.
Colin, he came to a workout out here in L.A., and there was video of him,
13 straight three-pointers.
Now, in the system at Duke, John Shire did not have him shooting threes.
And he's like, wait a minute, this guy can step out and shoot.
And you look at Anthony Davis and what the Lakers have, you've been on the trade,
Anthony Davis train for a while.
Obviously, they're going to need bigs.
I think Lively could be a guy.
They're like, you know what?
Rim protector, a little pick and roll guy with Austin Reeves.
Derek Lively, if he falls to 17, I'm telling you, this kid's talented, man.
Yeah.
No, you know, nobody, in all the years I've been doing this, more than any generalist,
you love college basketball?
Oh, the tournament, nothing's better than that.
It's your favorite go-to.
No, I mean, listen, NBA and NFL, obviously.
But you love March.
I do like the tournament.
March Madness, one shining moment, I nerd out over that stuff.
All right.
Finally, tomorrow's headlines today, a lot of talk surrounding Bradley Beal of the hapless
wizards who now have a new.
GM. What do you think?
A nice usage of hapless.
Bradley Beal, the headline will be,
don't stop believing.
Finals, hopes hinge on Bradley.
Bradley Beal, Miami Heat, this is almost
feels like a slam dunk. There's reports out there that
Bradley Beale's definitely getting traded. This isn't like
a will float it, that he's gone.
And will he accept a deal to Miami? I think he certainly would.
They just went to the finals for the second time in four years.
Beal slides in. Is he the
two or the three with Butler and Bam at a bio there. You could argue Bradley Bill going from a
one in Washington to a three in Miami is like perfect for him almost in the Aaron Gordon situation,
just different players obviously, but role and factor. And I got some numbers. He's been to a couple
playoffs here. Bradley Beal, the last time he was in the playoffs, average 30 points per game in a five game series.
Yeah, he's good. He can get buckets. Yes. It's almost like he's undervalued because he's been
in a dumpster fire for a couple years. Yeah, no, I think this happens all the time. I talked to an NFL GM once,
And he said sometimes drafting players who were really talented but had a bad coach in college and they didn't win a lot.
It's like there's value in the draft getting a kid who, like if you draft a Nick Saban guy or an Urban Meyer guy,
you're getting a player that that coach squeezed everybody to town out.
But there's coaches out there that can recruit and can't coach.
And you get these players that come in and you're like, they got another level of playing.
And I think, and I think sometimes Bradley Beals had such a.
circus environment, people just don't understand how good he is.
And by the way, his assists go up, because when he passes, people will hit shots.
There was a time where him and John Wall were better than Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.
They were like a better version of that.
They had a couple nice runs in the playoffs in the East.
And I'm just telling people, people like, oh, Bradley Biel, I don't know.
I'm just telling you guys, he is explosive as the score, gets to the rim.
It was a playoff series.
He shot 46% from three in a playoff series.
Again, as like the number one target.
Did anybody think Andrew Wiggins would be a vital piece for the Warriors?
Or Aaron Gordon, who was like a bust, it looked like, would be really the defensive stopper for the Nuggets and a championship team.
Like when you're young, maybe when you're old, it's different.
But when you're young, environment is huge.
Andrew Wiggins was on some bad Minnesota team.
And it was a circus.
And then he goes to Golden State and you're like, oh, who's this guy?
Yeah. So it's, yeah, I think sometimes as you get older, it's different. That's why I've defended John Moran a little.
it's I don't know his childhood.
I don't know a support system.
Now, you're ultimately responsible,
but everybody grows up
on a different pace.
And it does help if you have a formidable home,
you have rules,
you have guidelines,
you have culpability for mistakes.
A lot of kids grow up that don't have that
and we're shocked at 23 or 24
when they get money or fame.
You know, they're a YouTube star,
Instagram star, they go sideways.
So it's not that he's not culpable for some of it,
but environment matters a lot
when you're pre-26,
All right, hour three coming up.
