This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest,
SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends
on the ice.
Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's
telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode,
we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the
real story behind the headline. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to
Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more, follow Timbo Slicalife 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on.
A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know.
Is somebody coming after me?
Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast.

Well, Steph Curry's been the face of the NBA, or at least shared it, feels like for 15 years.
And much like Wemby, it's ironic they played last night, much like Wemby, is that when players come into the game, when Magic Johnson was a 6,8 and a half point guard, it's like, well, haven't seen that before.
And it just changed the way pacing and the way you matched up.
And when Steph Curry came at, Michael Jordan was great, but we'd seen versions of Michael Jordan,
David Thompson was a version of Michael. Later, Kobe was a version of Michael. There was no
Steph and there is no Wemby. Sometimes you forget that dad could play a little. Del Curry,
who's now the analyst, the TV analyst for the Hornets is now joining us live. It's been a great
year for that team. So first of all, congratulations. We got video. Most games played second
and points. I think people sometimes forget.
Del Curry, I
remember it well. You
were one of the first guys
whose number one shot
was a long-range jumper.
But it's interesting,
Dell. Back when you were shooting
them, sometimes you'd hear a coach say,
no, don't do that.
Do you remember when you started
kind of mastering the long-range
shot? It wasn't as accepted
in your prime as
it is today, right?
Yeah, no doubt.
It's much more of a specialty kind of item or player back in the day.
We had so many dominant centers.
The game was played inside out and you got the ball inside.
So if you had a couple of guys like myself that could stretch the floor,
you post the center up on that side and daring to go help.
But I was a specialty guy.
That's why I've played in league 16 years.
I could put the ball in the hole from range.
And I look back at the film sessions of me playing
and back in everything was played inside the three.
Yeah.
You know, we take two, three, four, maybe five a game.
And you better hit a couple of them or your time was going to be limited to next night.
That is funny.
Well, good for you.
You got your jersey retired.
Again, most minutes, second most points.
When, you know, one of the things I've said a lot of times, I can tell Fernando
Mendoza, the quarterback at Indiana, I can tell you as good parents.
I just, he's a share leadership.
One of the things I've always said about Steph Curry is I don't need to know his parents.
I know Dell.
I know of you.
But I said, when you're part of a dynasty, everybody thinks it's easy.
But you got the Draymond factor.
And you got intense Steve Kerr.
And then here comes Kevin Durant.
And people look at Steph and think, oh, just been easy street.
And I'm like, man, when you're winning, there's a lot of mouse to feed.
You get the truth behind the dynasty.
Have there been moments
weak stretches
where you saw the stress
of being the face of a dominant franchise?
Without a doubt,
I think that comes into the territory.
He understands that.
And when you win one, you win two.
Now you're fan base,
your organization,
and you expect to repeat,
and that's so hard to do
when you're the landscape,
you're the face of the lead.
It's been a lot on him, no doubt.
It's been a stressful, you know, 17 years at some points, but he wouldn't trade one bit of it for the rings that he has, a couple of MVPs, the leadership, what he's done for not only the NBA, but for the Warriors franchise as a whole.
I mean, that's part of it.
I think him being around the game and seeing it on some level as a young age prepared him for what was to come.
But being a leader in a championship locker room, there's no experience.
cannot you don't know what that's going to be like from year to year from day to day from
week to week but he's handled it tremendously i think being around the game early uh has helped
him play a part in that it's interesting he couldn't have a more divergent personality from draymon
but i always think they just work well together i mean did you ever have a teammate that was feisty
and a tough guy i mean it just his he's a smart kid he's obviously got a high IQ but
step's EQ is high i mean draymond can rub people the wrong way
And I always feel like, I always feel like Draymond and Steph have been the soul of the franchise.
Not Clay, love him, not Durant, not even Kerr.
Was it immediate for Steph and Draymond?
Like it just, it worked?
I think you really had to find out the temperament of both guys.
They were young when they first started.
And then you saw their attitude, the relationship grow.
So it was something that, like any relationship, it's got to grow, it's got to, it's got to grow,
coach got to nurture, you got to fill out each other and find out what's the makeup of each person.
But every, I think every championship team has those two type guys, a guy who can handle things
on the floor in the locker room is very calm, but tremendously competitive on the floor.
Then you've got to have a guy that's kind of out of control that the coach has a hard time with
that's going to do things his way. I had teammates like that. I think of Charles Barkley. I think of
have Anthony Mason.
Yeah.
Those type guys,
there were fire,
fiery guys on the floor.
Nicest guys off the floor,
but you wouldn't want anybody else
as a teammate to go to war with you.
Yeah, I mean, let's be honest.
Best team ever could be Jordan.
They had Rodman,
first or second best team ever,
Steph KD Warriors,
they had Draymont.
I always say,
yeah,
a beautiful, aesthetically beautiful team
has got to have a bouncer.
Somebody at the door.
Somebody makes sure everybody knows.
Don't mess around in here.
Don't touch our star.
Don't grab our star.
You see it in hockey.
You see it in basketball.
The game now, what's so great about basketball is that in pro football, you know this, Dell,
is that you go to college for three or four years.
There's hard coaching.
It's not about AAU.
It was a hard high school coach.
It's a hard college coach.
You come into the NFL.
You're kind of ready to perform.
Basketball, you go from AAU.
It may be Europe.
You get one year of college, maybe.
Then you're a pro.
You can't even get into the hotel bar.
Okay, so now you come in.
Yet some of these guys,
con canipal for you guys.
You're like,
how's he this good this fast?
Like it's crazy.
Some guys come into this league and you just can't believe how good they are.
You guys have one now with your team.
What do you make of his ascension?
He's such a mature,
he's one of the most mature 20-year-olds that I've ever been around.
Steph coming in his rookie year
He had Corrmugetti
He's like Stephen Jackson
Monta Ellis
Khan coming into the horn is totally different
locker room
He sets the tone as a rookie
That's a lot of pressure to put on a rookie
To change the culture
To set the tone
But he's such a mature guy
He is so focused on his task
That's all he's worried about
Eat, sleeps
Preparing himself for that game
For the next game
Low maintenance
He has a skill set
that's beyond rookies.
Not only just shoot the basketball, he'll have nights where he doesn't shoot it well,
but he affects the game so many other areas.
He can rebound the basketball.
He's very underrated defensively.
Playmaker, he'll mix it up if he has two older or five boys.
He's such a trendsetter in today's NBA.
And we've got three other rookies as well that go along with him.
So Jeff Peters in the front office, they got it right.
when you can, you know, kind of tell the guy has talent,
but you really don't know what he's going to be until you get him in your building.
Yep.
But this guy's, this guy is beyond anything anybody could have imagined.
Okay, so I'm going to throw something at you.
I like three-pointers, but I do think it can get repetitive.
And I don't want Wemby shooting that many.
I like the mid-range game.
You can shoot him.
Your son can shoot him.
Everybody's got three or four guys that can shoot him.
But I think the game, I think baseball's done a lot of good tween.
I mean, good golf can tweak, tennis can tweak.
I'm going to throw this out.
I've said before, I think 303s a game is fine.
88 is repetitive and homogenous.
My theory has always been.
I like collisions at the rim.
I like people attacking.
I would take the three-point shot and I would move it into the bench.
Get rid of the corner three so bigs don't have to chase down corner threes
because it's impossible to stay in front of it.
of guards anyway, Dale, because you can't hand check them.
So it's just too many guards, getting past defenders, going to the rim.
I want them to meet Redwoods at the Iron.
I want that.
When LeBron had to meet, remember when LeBron struggled against, who was the Georgetown guy
for the Indiana Pacers?
Roy Hibbert.
How LeBron struggled against Roy Hibbert.
And it's like, you've got to have a league where Roy Hibbert can play.
Good guy.
I want a league that Roy can play.
Get rid of the corner three.
Okay.
That wouldn't be good for Steph.
So you probably hate this, don't you?
Absolutely hate it.
I think you have to adapt.
As a team, you have to have a guy that, a center position that can do his best staying in front of those guards.
We have one on the hornets right now.
I'll tell you what, in Musa Diabate.
Does a great job.
We're seeing Mowgli right here.
You've got to have big guys to do that.
You have to adapt.
That's part of front office, the GM.
You got to bring fine guys that's going to help your team, tweak your team.
You're not going to get rid of the corner three.
I like your idea of collisions at the rim.
That's been lost, but you have to have big guys now that could shoot the three,
but do their best at staying in front of the guard, at least funneling them to where the help's going to be.
All that is the ingredients and winning, and the corner three is going to always be there.
You know, I'm in my 60s, Dell.
I don't want to adapt.
I like what I like.
Me too.
Me too.
Okay, Wemby, I said this earlier.
is that, I mean, they call him the alien in the league.
It's, I hear people say this all the time.
I watch him, but I've never seen him in person.
You know, it's like when you see him in person, you're like, he towers over six, eight and a half guys.
Last night, he's playing the Warriors.
He puts up All-Star games with eight minutes left in the second quarter.
Do you have any comp for him?
Have you ever seen anything like this?
No, the comp used to be as physical on his lower body as possible.
I think the Spurs has done a great job of getting him stronger so he can go against that attack.
Obviously, you want to keep him away from the basket on both ends as much as possible,
but the guy's shooting threes now.
He's not going to block his shot.
I don't know how you defend him without sending multiple guys at him,
and now they have enough talent around him that he is an underrated passer.
I've done a couple of games of his on prime where he, you run a play for him as a decoy,
and he's the passer.
This guy's a total package.
Look at that.
One dribble.
He's at the rim.
Covered so much space.
And just like I talked about Khan,
if Wimmy's not having great offensive night,
which is very rare,
he affects the game.
He can win your game on the defensive end.
So great talent.
Face of the league is going to be if he's not already.
First time starting the All-Star game.
And I think he's seriously just getting started
to how good and how dominant he can be on both ends.
He seems like a guy that,
is in love with the game as well.
You've got a young guy with that much talent,
that much hunger to be the best that he can be
and to help his teammate,
his teammates be the best that they can be in the franchise.
Sky's the limit for the spurs as long as that guy stays healthy.
Okay, I get one final question.
You know, Steph can golf.
You're a great golfer.
So I'm not going to count anything off the tee.
He's the younger guy.
It's probably a little longer off the tea than you.
But if you're a hundred forty-fourty-yard
out. And you both grab an eight iron. Who's a better golfer? He is, but 140 yards out. I'm hitting
a pitching wreath. He's gaping it. He's hitting a gap wedge. I practice a lot more than he does,
but he's got such a great touch around the greens. And a young guy thinks he can make everything
that he stands over. But that's what handicaps are for. We have great, our summers are great. We take
couple of golf trips a year.
Seth is a much improved golfer.
Got a son a lot of the plays. We got a good
group. We travel a year. So we
talk more about golf down than basketball.
Steph's, you know,
17 years, 38, Seth's 12 years,
35 years old. Our golf
communication and
text thread is over the top.
All right, let's show the
they retired his jersey. I want to go
show that video again.
Because, I mean, you're fired up here. A lot of
guys pretend like they don't care. You're like,
of that. I love it this man. You're pumping your fist. They got the fireworks going. That was a great
night, wasn't it? It was a great night. This is a good couple days. We had a little intimate dinner
on the Wednesday before the Hornet organization. When they told me this was happening, a lot of
emotions going on. I couldn't believe it, but I was looking, had so much time to prepare for this
night. The boys were able to get in. They were on the East Coast trip. They're able to fly in. It was a
great night. I didn't want to ruin it any way. I wanted to, I wanted to, I wanted to, I was,
wanted it to slow down so that I could soak up, you know, everything that was happening.
But it's still surreal for me to walk in the spectrum center, look up and see number 30
Curry up in the stands.
You know, I played this game like my boys because of the fun of it, because we loved it.
Fortunate enough to make a living out of it.
And now I'm still here in Hornets organization calling games, helping the guys.
I love going to practice still talking basketball, helping these young guys any way I can.
So for me to be with this organization for almost three years.
decades and now to get my jersey retired after 24 years of being retired as a player of all I've done
in the community and as an ambassador for this team I can't tell you how happy I am how proud I am how
grateful but also how humble I am to know this is a big deal not only for the hornets organization
but the city of Charlotte and I'm happy to represent that now you're great but I just looked at
this the Hornets in 1993 with one Del Curse.
shot 11 3s a game.
This year they're averaging 43.
Oh, wow.
It's the wild world we live in now.
They're averaging 16 makes a game.
So, yeah.
It's a wild world, man.
I'm not one of these old guys that's going to say,
I wish I was playing back today.
But I think my game would fit in perfectly
with how today's game is the NBA is played.
But I love watching the game.
It's entertaining.
The league is a lot of.
good young players. I think the league's in a healthy
spot. Yeah. Great, great
seeing you again. Congrats.
Thanks, Alan. Thanks for having me.
Del Curry. What a good guy.
What a neat family.
What a neat family.
Man,
140 out. Just grab a wedge.
I got to start.
I got it. You know, Jay Mack,
you should take up golf
because height doesn't matter. So I think you'd be very good at it.
Well, it's funny. Since I'm a natural athlete, I basically take up
Big Pong and I smoke you, tennis, same deal.
So if you want to play golf, you know, we could do that.
Best ball, whatever you want to do.
I'm in.
I haven't picked up a club in maybe two years.
No.
I just grip it and rip it, baby.
It's like how you do Herdline news.

We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name,
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers...
This is how you guys remember.
Remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

All right, J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Yeah, I told the producers, I think this quarterback is probably going to be the biggest name to watch this year.
CJ Stroud, Colin.
A lot of stuff swirling about C.J. Stroud.
Brutal postseason.
Seven turnovers in two games.
A lot of questions about his future.
The Texans are likely to exercise his fifth-year option,
guaranteeing him 25-mill this season.
But it sounds like they're in no hurry to sign him to a long-term deal.
Here's their owner, Cal McNair.
Yeah, we'll let Amico and Nick make the football decisions there,
but they're exciting, really good young players.
We'll hope to have them around a long, long time.
You know, it's a good problem to have when you have so many guys you want to keep under contract.
So if we keep drafting the way we do, this is just going to be something we talk about every year.
Yeah, I'm still Team CJ.
I am.
I mean, I don't know how you could bail on him.
Again, it's tough to find a quarterback.
There's half a dozen teams out there who could use him.
But he was really bad in the playoffs.
And they're starting to, like, sour on him, it feels like.
No?
I mean, Colin, if you can't, why wouldn't you just lock him up early?
Given the Trevor Lawrence deal that Trevor Lawrence got in Jacksonville.
And he hadn't, I don't even think he had a playoff win.
No, he did have one.
He beat the charges.
I think they're probably working on it pretty quickly.
I think they're going to start working on it.
He just had some really sloppy turnovers and really bad footwork and that stuff's correctable.
Having a weak arm and no athletic ability is not correctable.
His stuff is correctable.
No, Nico Collins.
And kind of a loss of confidence with his feet.
mechanics are not good, weird turnovers.
I think he'll get out of it.
Is it fair to say you think he's regressed since he is?
Yeah, I mean, it's coaching matters.
He may not have the right coach.
Was it Case Keenham left?
He may not, yeah, I think all that stuff.
I think quarterback, listen, you said it before Clint Kubiak leaves Donald.
What if he pulls back?
He's just not, he's 85% of what Sam was.
Coaches in football, coaching's huge.
Next Rams quarterback, C.J. Stroud.
Post Stafford.
worth considering.
Take a look at the Stroud agent and get back to me on that one, buddy.
All right, let's move on to the Kansas City Chiefs,
a wobbly franchise coming off a non-playoff appearance.
And they're bringing back Eric Bienemy to run the offense.
Feel the excitement.
Under Bienemy, the Chiefs had one of the league's elite offenses.
Now, he did not call plays.
That should be noted.
Here's Andy Reid on the return of Eric, sleeping with Bienemy.
We're fired up to him back.
He brings great energy.
he knows obviously the offense
he's very well respected by the players
I think he's a great leader of men
and he really takes that
to another level
when he's in that position
yeah
third in the division
yeah it's where I
I gotta tell you something
I think the Raiders are going to win seven eight games
I think it's a I think
and you have the Broncos and Chargers in the playoffs
I think the Broncos are the best team
Yeah, like the Jaden Waddle thing just takes you over that.
I think Denver wins the division.
I think Chargers is going to be really good.
Interesting.
Let's go through that real quick.
Broncos at Jalen Waddle.
Chargers at Mike McDaniel.
Raiders get Mendoza, the best center free agent out there.
And a ton of draft picks.
What did the Chiefs do this offseason?
They got Kenneth Walker, and they're going to get a right tackle with their first pick.
So their offense will be, the offensive line will be better.
Simmons was good when he's.
played at left tackle. He was very good.
Well, we'll balance out the Kenneth Walker edition by losing Trent McDuffie.
Maybe there's second, first or second best defender.
Oh, Trent McDuffie's a great player.
To me, I would take him outside of Patrick Sertan.
I would probably take him as my second favorite corner.
Oh, Sauce Gardner is still breathing.
Yeah.
He's his sauce, he's hurt.
You don't want to tackle anybody.
Interesting.
Chiefs did not get better this offseason call.
Oh, they retained Travis Kelsey.
I forgot.
declining tight end.
Final story, Con, let's go to the NBA.
No, sorry, sorry, to basketball.
But we always talk about Tom Izzo.
He recently revealed that he's almost made the jump to the NBA before.
As recently as last summer when the sons were looking for a new head coach,
here is Izzo talking about that situation to Dan Patrick.
I've had, you know, more than a couple job offers in the NBA
and looked at one last year with Phoenix, you know.
and my former player, Matt Hispia,
and that was hard.
That was a hard thing to turn down because, number one,
I kind of wanted to go with him.
Wait, so they offered you the head coaching job?
Well, we talk seriously about it.
Let's say that.
Ooh, that's interesting.
The Suns recording a 70-year-old college basketball legend to coach in the NBA.
Now, the Suns did not get him, and it's worked out great.
They're going to be in the play-in, and they might be feisty.
They've had the Lakers number this year.
That would be a big loss for college hoopso.
I mean, Izzo is on the Mount Rushmore of current college basketball coaches in the sport.
I mean, basketball, there's Hubey Brown broadcast forever.
Bill Raftery's still unbelievable.
Tom Isso, Rick Patino, if you have a young spirit about you, I don't care about your age.
If you're old and crusty, Bobby Knight at 28, 38 couldn't have coached college NBA players.
If you have a young spirit, if you like young people, Izzo, Patino.
I mean, Bill Raftery is still absolutely aces.
Hubey Brown broadcasts forever.
They have a young, joyful spirit.
Basketball is creative, it's inventive,
and you've got to have the right spirit to be a coach in that league.
Yeah.
Jay Mack of the News.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, for people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the Iheart radio app, Apple

Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect.
We were God's chosen kingdom on earth.
He felt destined for greatness.
So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
When Jacob met Levant this went to a billion dollar fraud.
But with two kings from a million dollar fraud,
from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive?
The largest tax investigation in American history.
You need to tell me what you know.
Is somebody coming after me?
Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.

All right, time for the madness to come to an end.
It's April.
J-Mac is not fooling around.
March Madness has been absolutely glorious.
We got two bangers this week.
Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, taking on Yukon.
So tomorrow's headlines today.
So let's start, though, the new coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, a coveted job.
What say you?
It's interesting because North Carolina has a wide search happening right now.
It's weird.
Is this a great job?
A good job?
Has NIL changed things?
Names are in the mix, out of the mix.
Colin, my guess is the headline for the North Carolina job will be the Otts father.
Torhill's make an offer.
T.J. can't refuse.
I'm going with T.J. Otselberger from Iowa State.
Now, it's interesting.
A week ago, he tried to remove his name from the process.
And some other coaches are also trying to remove their name.
Yet there's nothing from UNC about who a leader is.
We're not hearing anything on interviews.
It's very strange.
Otsleberger, amazing recruiter.
He's a Midwest guy.
So, you know, the college basketball, oh, he's not a regional fit.
This guy knows basketball.
Elite, and I'm talking top-notch defenses at Iowa State.
He just hasn't had that superstar player to take him over the top.
They've been a two or three seed the last three years.
But they can't get over the Sweet 16 because in March, you need that alpha, that superstar when the chips are down.
He hasn't had that.
I think he would be a home run at North Carolina.
You know, I hear Jerry Stackhouse maybe coming.
People are lobbying for Kenny Smith from inside the NBA.
It is a weird search.
These North Carolina fans are secular, Colin.
They want one of their own.
Yeah.
All right, tomorrow's headlines today, the matchup, Arizona, one seed, Michigan one seed.
Yeah, listen, I loved Arizona all season.
This team has been a juggernaut.
Only two losses.
They're loaded.
However, in the final four, the headline for Michigan, Arizona will be.
It's getting dusty in here.
Michigan sends Arizona home in tears.
I'm going with the Wolverines.
Colin, this is going to be an amazing game.
I'm leaning Wolverines simply because they're Big Ten tested.
Big Ten by far the best conference in America.
I know SEC fans are all in their feelings about how bad they've been in the NCAA tournament.
Big 12 had a great run this year.
But look at them in the tournament.
The highest matchups, Big Ten has been great.
And by the way, Purdue, did you see them push Arizona for a half?
They just didn't have the horses in the front court.
They led by seven at halftime against Arizona.
This is a Michigan team, Colin.
they don't have a weakness.
They shoot the three.
If they're shooting the three at like 35, 40 percent,
it's over.
So I expect a fast game here.
I do give the edge to the Arizona back court.
Slight edge to Dusty May.
We've seen Tommy Lloyd.
I like him a lot.
Some people want him to coach North Carolina.
I've seen him slip up a little in the tournament.
So I have some concerns about that.
But I expect a great game really is a coin flip.
It opened it and pick them.
Michigan now favor by a little bit.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
The second game, Yukon, Illinois,
two and three seeds.
I like Illinois here.
What about you?
Yeah, I'm, I don't want to give away my pick yet.
I will say before the tournament did have Illinois in my brackets in the final four,
nobody cares about brackets.
The headline for Yukon versus Illinois will be caviose switches and champagne drains.
Illinois Eurostepts over Husky Nation.
I'm with you.
I like Illinois here.
By the way, fun stat, I put this on my Instagram.
The last six teams to beat Duke in the NCAA.
a tournament lost their next game. Colin, you know in sports, you get very high when you take down
a big dog. That went over Duke. I mean, they're still partying in Sors, Connecticut. And I just wonder
how they react. Now, some people are saying, well, Yukon beat Illinois earlier. And I was like,
earlier, it was in November. Wogler played 13 minutes. He was like in the fifth college game.
It meant nothing. This is an Illinois team that's amazing. Passing. Colin, big guys inside wings.
I think this is a Stoyakovic game. I'll be betting his prop.
Wogler could struggle.
Yukon has an older back court,
22, 23-year-old guides.
I still like Illinois here.
Big Ten all make it to the finals.
Tomorrow's headlines today,
the question that begs to be asked,
who's the national champion?
Yeah, you know, it's tough not to like Michigan.
But Illinois is on a, like a legendary run here.
Just absolute heater.
Both these teams won all their tournament games
by double digits.
The headline for the national championship.
on Monday night will be timeout.
Michigan clock's first title since 1989.
Now, I know as a college basketball fan,
you remember that Glenn Rice,
Rumeel Robinson team in 89, great team.
Now, Michigan, I believe, has lost four national championships since then.
The Fab Five went back to back and lost,
and then you had the Trey Burke team,
and then you had that one team get eviscerated by Villanova
with Jalen Brunson and company.
I think they snapped the streak here.
Listen, Michigan went to Champagne,
We talked about that game.
I watched that game.
It was like, whoa.
I don't know how Illinois stops them.
Illinois has a couple good bigs, the twins.
But besides that, they're not as big as Michigan between Mara, Lenderbore.
If Michigan hits threes, they could blow out Arizona and Illinois.
They're that good.
And you're right.
Arizona's not a three-point shooting team.
Illinois is.
Illinois's offense number one in the country.
I think it'll be a great game, but I will go Michigan.
They'll probably be favored by four or five points.
I think they win it.
All right.
Finally, tomorrow's headline.
today. Who's the headline for the most outstanding player of the tournament?
Yeah, you've hit on this theme in college football. Old guys win. That's what's happening in
college sports now. Stick around longer, make that NIL money. The headline for most
outstanding player in the final four will be, lend me your ears, friends, countrymen all vote
for Yaxel. Yaxel Lenderborg. Colin, if we're talking about best college basketball stories
in the last decade, I mean, this kid's amazing. He's 23 years old.
He was at UAB for two years, and then all of a sudden last year kind of blows up.
Everybody wants him.
And now he turns into one of the best players in the country.
Listen, the draft is going to happen in June, and he's going to be picked somewhere.
But, Colin, some of these sites do, hey, analytically, here's where his numbers at his age match up with players.
And Lenderborg's with a bunch of guys who didn't make it in the NBA, because he's 23.
Yeah.
So my guess is he goes closer to like 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14,
inlands with a much better team and is their third best player.
I mean, maybe even, yeah, a rotational guy to start, right?
Yeah.
Finally, oh, that's it.
Yeah.
I like Lendaborg a lot.
I know you do.
His story with his parents, you know, I'm sure you heard this Reddit.
His parents were really cracking down hard on him.
Mom was like, you're not studying, you know, you're not going to be anything.
And he turned it around.
A real American story.
You got to love it.
And it's been a great year for Michigan.
By the way, Indiana football, Michigan basketball,
your big 10 take
maybe one of your better ones
this decade
yeah we said it three years ago
they have bigger colleges than the SEC
I mean 40 50,000 and the kids
don't stay in the Midwest they stay
in Chicago a little but Midwest
is Cincinnati St. Louis, Indianapolis
SEC kids they go to
Charlotte and Atlanta Miami
Big 10 kids
they flee to the coast and they make
really good money and they
come back and see their parents
They love their teams, and there's just so many graduates.
And Big Ten schools, there's a lot of millionaires and billionaires at a Big Ten schools,
and they take incredible pride in their Midwest roots, and they write checks.
And it's not about facilities anymore.
It's not about high school recruiting.
I don't even follow high school recruiting like I used to.
It's about can you go get about nine players a year in football and two to three,
basketball, NBA level guys to solve your dilemmas.
Michigan getting Mara from UCLA, you can't score at the rim now on Michigan.
I mean, you just can't get there.
Great show today.
Jay Max going on vacay.
Enjoy Vegas, buddy.
He'll be back next week, next year.
Well, he'll be back soon.
Hey, guys, it's us.
