This is an IHeart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist
and host, Keer Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations
that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional
who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor. It signals to the world that you
not to be played with. And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to,

That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
And every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Thanks for listening to the Heard podcast.
It's a herd here on Fox Sports Radio.
Jonas Knox in for Colin.
You can find this show on the IHeart Radio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country,
wherever you are making us a part of your Labor Day.
We appreciate you doing so.
Now, I am normally on the air during the week,
Monday through Friday, 6 to 9 a.m. Eastern Time, 3 to 6 a.m. Pacific time.
with Lovar Earrington and Brady Quinn.
It's called Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
This is always a very interesting and bizarre world to live in,
looking around and there's actually daylight out, cars on the road.
You know, not anybody wandering the streets with paraphernalia,
like spoons with burn marks on the bottom and other things around the mean streets of Sherman Oaks, California.
Always a different world when there's actually a light out and people around than driving in at two in the morning.
Always a different world.
But we are having a good time here on this Labor Day Monday.
A lot of college football to discuss.
And my point on the college football weekend is it used to be back in the day where, and I never judge these teams, I never did.
if Nick Saban or one of these other schools scheduled a quote unquote
Cupcake early on I never complained or never judged
because I could understand why they would take that approach
because with no preseason with no you got to get yourself going
so the idea of opening up in a difficult place on the road
is a lot to ask for we had a chance we talked with Kenny Dillingham
a couple of weeks ago and just kind of asked him like hey man with no
preseason game because there's a lot of people
like, well, you know, the NFL preseason,
do we really need it, et cetera, et cetera.
I said, look, in college football, you don't get a preseason.
Ask Kenny Dillingham, I'm like, hey, if you,
look, with no preseason, how do you feel about the first week of the year?
And he goes, it's always the one I worry about the most.
Because you're just not sure.
Like, you're dealing with, you know, 18, 19, 20, 21.
Well, now it's college football and with the portal, like 35-year-old kids.
It's like, now, now, I mean, that part of it's change.
But the point is, like, when these teams do schedule,
really difficult matchups.
I'm never overly judgy on how that goes.
Like Brian Kelly and LSU
had been hearing for a long time
about their struggles early on.
I think they had lost five straight openers.
Brian Kelly was 0 and 3 in openers.
Remember last year they opened the season
against USC in Vegas?
And Brian Kelly opens a year
and they lose again.
And it's like, oh man.
But ultimately,
LSU figured it out
and they were making a run late
and USC was awful
it's like things change after the first week
and for Brian Kelly and LSU
to come from Death Valley
go to Death Valley and win that game
the way they did that's impressive
but Clemson
it's not going to be a knock on Clemson
Clemson will you know bounce back and figure it out
they've got a potential Heisman
candidate and Kate Klubnick.
Like they've got an opportunity to make a run, win that conference.
They're going to be fine.
Texas, Ohio State, I mean, look, yeah, it's a tough loss for Texas.
But Texas will bounce.
They're going to bounce back.
And Archmanning struggled.
It doesn't mean he's going to be, he's going to struggle this much the entire year.
Just maybe he wasn't exactly what everybody presented him to be.
But that wasn't his fault.
Whoever's, whoever started that.
you got to look back and go, man,
why would we think that a guy coming in on two starts
was going to go into Columbus
and just light up the Buckeyes?
Who, by the way, just won a national championship?
So, like, you look at these week one debuts of these new teams,
and you look at how they're presented,
and you look at it's like, everybody just relax.
Everybody just slow down.
Things are going to look a lot different, right?
Things are going to look a lot different.
Which is what makes this debut.
that much more entertaining
because we are going to get
later on tonight
the debut
of Bill Belichick
the college football coach
and I
cannot wait
I love this version
of Bill Belichick
parading around
with a rocket ship
they're doing trademarks
he's dressed up
like he's the Vandy Camp's mascot
and they're doing photo shoots in Nantucket
I don't know
yeah you do you were there
okay thank you
you're welcome
anything else
yeah we got like an hour
answer the question twice
oh listen I'm not even asking me anything
Bill let me speak for you Bill
okay because you are now going to be taking part
in the banana land
that is college football
And of course, he opens up the year in primetime in a standalone opportunity.
Like, listen, like he did many years in the NFL.
And it's going to be Bill Belichick in North Carolina against TCU.
And what's so fascinating about this debut for Bill Belichick is, don't worry,
there's only going to be one of these because he's probably gone after this year,
back to the NFL. That would be my guess. If I was betting right now, Bill Belichick is coaching
in the NFL next year.
Try to do it's best for the team. If North Carolina wins eight, nine games, and he's successful,
Belichick's going to be back. Because he's got a little bit of a red ass about the way that
he was portrayed by Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots. He's multiple times pointed out
how things got sideways,
how when Robert Kraft says,
oh, well, you know,
my most successful risk that I took was joining,
was hiring Bill Belichick,
and Belichick was like,
no, it was kind of a risky job that I took.
Like, he's made it a point on multiple occasions to point out
all the success that he had there.
Talked about when they were successful in New England
and how that ties into the college football atmosphere.
When they were successful, there were less cooks in the kitchen, so to speak,
et cetera, et cetera.
Like, Belichick has made it a point to let everybody know,
I'm still not over the way that I was represented after I left.
The fact that I wasn't interviewed for more jobs
other than the Falcons was preposterous.
The fact that the Falcons didn't hire me
because you had insecure people in the front office
who didn't want to collaborate with Belichick
because of the power that he might have is ridiculous.
The fact that nobody else brought him in for an interview is insane.
And so Belichick's like, all right, cool, I'll go coach college football.
And what if he's successful?
Like, what if this works?
What if this one works?
What if this debut for Belichick works?
Like, we're talking about the Archmanning stuff and it's like, oh, boy, what a disappointment.
It's like, well, the expectations were a little bit out of whack.
I mean, the Heisman odds, et cetera, et cetera.
I don't think anybody really has an expectation for Belichick.
I think everybody's just really intrigued by it.
It's similar to the Dion Sanders stuff when he took over Colorado.
You could say whatever you want about Dion's run in Colorado.
And look, they lose the opener, some clock management issues, you know, some things that, you know, looked a little bit odd there.
But nonetheless, say whatever you want about Dion Sanders.
They didn't win a conference championship.
if they haven't won a national championship.
Here's what I do know.
That program he took over was a diaper fire.
Dion took him over.
A year after a one-win season,
they were having rap concerts before games.
He completely changed the program.
But I don't think anybody looked at Dion Sanders in Colorado
and we're like, oh boy, this is going to be this and it's going to be that.
I think we were just really intrigued.
I was.
Same thing with Belichick.
I'm fascinated to see how this is going to go.
We've never seen it before.
He's the greatest of all time,
and he's trying to do it at the college level.
We've never seen him do this before.
But I think this is just part of the revenge tour.
This is the first stop.
Eventually, he's going back to the NFL.
If you were asking me to bet money on which team's going to hire Belichick next year,
I'm betting on the Dolphins.
I'll take Miami.
I like Mike McDaniel,
but if we were talking earlier about things,
it feels like things are going to go sideways there in Miami.
If they're going to make a change,
you imagine Belichick going to Miami,
going back to that division to see Robert Kraft twice a year?
So while this is a debut for Belichick,
and I'm fascinated to see what it looks like,
I don't think this is the end of the road for his coaching career.
Like, I don't think he just goes to college and says,
I'm good here.
Nick Saban may or may not come back.
Who knows?
There's some people like,
oh, no, we feel like he's going to come.
him back and, you know, maybe he won't, like, who knows?
A lot of Alabama fans would like him back in Tuscaloosa.
I can't imagine he would go back there after walking away from the whole thing.
Maybe he has a better understanding about, but like, I think Belichick's going to be back.
I think this is a pit stop.
He's on tour.
It's a revenge tour against Robert Kraft.
It starts at North Carolina.
But whatever expectations there were for Archmanning or any of these other programs going
into this weekend, I don't think anybody has an expectation for Belichick because I don't think
anybody knows what the hell this is going to look like. It's going to be odd to see Belichick
on the sideline for North Carolina. The entire story this offseason, like you didn't hear
anything about the football roster. All you heard about was the stuff with his girlfriend.
Like all these like deep dives and investigative YouTube reports and all this stuff. I don't think
anybody has a real idea what this is going to look like.
Mike Lombardi running things behind the scenes there.
Belichick on the sidelines coaching North Carolina.
That's what makes this one more interesting in my mind than any other debut or presentation
we've gotten this weekend.
Because we're going to get to see something we never thought we'd see.
And we've never had the opportunity to see before.
And it's Bill Belichick coaching at the college level.
And it all starts tonight.
but ultimately, I think it ends with him back in the NFL.
At the Jonas Knox on X.
At Jonas Knox Show on Instagram is where you can find us.
All right, so coming up next here on The Herd,
somebody in the NFL gets a lot of love, gets celebrated a lot.
But if you think about it, there's not a lot that separates him
from one of the worst in the league.
I'll tell you who that is next.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays at noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.

Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should.
call it and well we were thinking
I'm originally calling
it one of the early
names of our band before Jonas
Brothers was
this is how you guys remember it going down
yes I have a very different memory of this
we were talking about a thing a bit for the podcast
for people could call in and say hey Jonas
and then I wrote down on my little
notepad hey Jonas and offered
it up as a potential title
for the podcast but thanks for remembering that

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jenchen won.
I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lerner Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world.
right now and I actually can win on any

good luck.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner
of IHeart Women's Sports.
It's a herd here on Fox Sports Radio,
Jonas Knox, in for Colin.
Coming up in a little over 10 minutes from now,
it's kind of a strange thing that happens
or actually not even happen
it just accepted in the world of sports
and unfortunately
it resulted in an injury
a bad one
we'll tell you who that is
coming up here a little over 10 minutes from now
by the way
Adam Schaefter
just sent this tweet out
a couple of moments ago
that Packers linebacker
Micah Parsons has been dealing with an
L4, L5
facet joint sprain in his back
and he may take an epidural injection
prior to Sunday's game versus the lions
if needed to help him play per sources
before trading Parsons last week
the Cowboys prescribed him a
five-day plan of anti-inflammatory
corticere
whatever it is, who cares
another drug
I'll be honest I'm not going to sit here and try and read
Adam Schaefter's copy and paste
you know, epidural, anti-inflammatory medicine stuff.
But the point is, it was to help him recover from backtightness.
They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week,
and he is trying to play in Sunday's Opener v. Lions.
The one source said, it is still uncertain, if you will.
So that according to Adam Schaefter.
So now, if you are a crazy, crazy Dallas Cowboys fanboy,
or fan girl.
And there are several out there.
Like there are a lot of people out there.
People that want to like buy whatever Jerry Jones is selling.
Like there's a lot of, if you're one of the, you could look at that and go,
oh, so that's why they traded him.
Oh, that's why he was damaged goods.
Way to go Packers, give up two first round picks.
Guys, damaged goods.
You could.
I mean, that's, listen, that, that is one approach to take.
That's one perspective to have.
You could look at that as damage goods.
Fair.
That's also absurd.
What else is absurd?
And I was making this point earlier that you cannot cure crazy.
At a certain point, you just have to acknowledge it.
If you're in a relationship, if you got a buddy, if you got to look, whatever,
if you're around somebody who's nuts, you can defend them all you want,
or you can just say at a certain point, yeah, you're right.
They're crazy.
And Jerry Jones trading Micah Parsons is crazy.
Jerry Jones also spoke with the NFL network
and had this to say
our player that we got is outstanding
this on the trade by the way.
Our player that we got is outstanding.
We knew that and he'll immediately start making plays for us
when we get up there against those Philadelphia Eagles.
But the most important thing is we really wanted to stop the run.
And Mike is wonderful football player.
We think this gives us a better chance to stop the run.
Other teams knew that, and they threw the ball out quick, and they ran against us when we had Micah, and they're really emphasizing pass rush.
Okay.
All right.
So, like, we're going to double down on the stop-the-run stuff.
Fair.
Adam Schaefter's got a report.
Micah Parson might need an epidural before he plays in week one, and he may not play.
Okay.
Got it.
Got it.
But don't worry.
The Cowboys did sign Doron Blan to.
a four-year extension.
So everybody, everybody just relax.
They know what they're doing.
Everybody just calm down.
They know exactly what they're doing.
My favorite is how Brian Schottenheimer is talking at a press conference, I think,
on Friday.
It might have been Friday or Saturday.
And Brian Schottenheimer is like, listen, man, the goals haven't changed.
Like, you know, nothing has changed.
The goals haven't changed.
Yeah.
Just the chances of those goals have changed.
That's, you know, that's one.
thing.
Like that's, you know, and that feels like it's noteworthy.
You know, those, the chances of those goals being reached have changed.
And when you see that, you know, the Cowboys are, they signed Doran Bland and Jerry Jones
is talking about, you know, we did bring this in and we've got all these draft picks
now.
And it's like, I wonder if he looks at this.
And I wonder if he's like, you know, we did the, uh, the Hershal Walker trade.
you know, my coach slash de facto GM made that trade, you know, years ago and look at what it resulted in and all these other picks and these legendary players that really set up our franchise.
And at some point, somebody's got to tell Jerry Jones that he's more like Woody Johnson than Jimmy Johnson.
Because this is nonsensical.
Like there's literally nobody in the NFL who would have done this trade.
other than Jerry Jones.
Nobody.
And Jerry Jones and Brian Schottenheimer
and everybody there in Dallas
is like trying to sell you on the fact that like,
oh, we were all, it was a unanimous decision.
We all agree that this is the best thing for the football team.
No way.
No way.
If you ask Matt Iberfluse,
the defensive coordinator in Dallas,
if you were to ask Matt Eberfluse,
hey, would you rather have Micah Parsons or Kenny Clark?
going into the season.
What do you think his answer would have been?
And that says to say, Kenny Clark's not a great player.
He is a good player.
He's been to three Pro Bowls.
He's a good player.
But he's older, and he plays a position
that is not as valued as pass rusher.
The NFL tells you what the most important positions are in the league
based on who gets paid the most.
That's how that works.
It's quarterback, wide receivers,
pass rushers
like those are like
those are the ones
and Dallas
traded away
one of the best at his position
and Dak Prescott was
we listened to the sound earlier
talking well you know things got personal apparently things got personal
oh yeah and so
anybody in Dallas trying to come out with
rational explanations
on this like you know Albert Breer
had a quote that you know Michael Parsons
had an ego okay well I guess he's the only person
in Dallas that's got an ego or that was in Dallas that has an ego.
Like it's all bananas.
Like none of it makes any sense.
And Jerry Jones is, you know, wants to wheel and deal.
And I'm doing it.
And it's like at a certain point, he's Woody.
He's not Jimmy.
Because he's doing a lot of the things that dysfunctional teams and
dysfunctional owners have done in the NFL for a long time.
And I was making this point over the weekend.
I was saying, look, you can go through and talk about the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL,
the ones that have like a lot of turnover.
And you can go to Carolina with David Tepper.
You could go to Washington back when Dan Snyder had him.
You can go to the Jets with Woody Johnson.
And for the longest time, the difference between the Cowboys and those other organizations,
other than the fact that, you know, like a couple of those have actually been to a conference championship game in recent.
memory and Dallas hasn't.
But for the longest time, the only
difference between
the Cowboys and those other organizations
is that you didn't have an
impulsive owner.
For the most part.
And you actually had a guy who was loyal
to his own. Jerry Jones
has always been loyal to his own.
It's why everybody looked at Dak Prescott and were
like, yeah, he's going to get paid. Of course he is. He's gotten
paid twice. In fact, they gave him a monster
deal after he broke his leg.
C.D. Lamb?
of course they're going to pay him.
Zichael Elliott, of course.
But they tried bringing him back.
Of course.
He always rewards his own.
He's a really loyal guy.
Jason Garrett, he don't want to get rid of Jason Garrett.
Everybody thought Mike McCarthy was gone way before Mike McCarthy was finally left.
Like, he's a really loyal guy.
And that was really the difference between him and all those other owners.
Dan Snyder wasn't loyal to anybody there.
Turn and burn.
How many coaches were out there?
the door. Quick. Woody Johnson, same thing. Coach GM fired. Coach GM fired. David
Tepper. David Tepper was so uptight during his firing spree that David Tepper stopped off
at a bar on the way to the draft because they had some sign with like a like a smart ass slogan about
David Tepper. Like, hey, David, don't screw up the draft this time. And he had to stop in. And he had to stop
in there to go get a word with the people
who put the signage up.
Well, the only difference between Jerry
Jones and those other guys is that
Jerry Jones was actually loyal to his players.
He was loyal to his guys. He rewarded
his own players. He rewarded his people.
And all that changed
when he traded Michael Parsons.
Because that was the
one that was the no-brainer.
You could
argue against giving Dak
Prescott the contract if you want.
You could argue against C.D. Lamb getting the
contract if you want, Zeke
Elliott, you can argue against all those guys.
The no-brainer was
Micah Parsons. And
Jerry Jones
got into it personally
with him, had an issue
with David Mulageta his agent,
whatever it was, and all
of a sudden he got impulsive. Instead of
thinking about it in terms of,
hey, what's going to make our team better?
If I really am all about this Super Bowl, what's going
to make us better? Let's make that move.
Let's leave all the personal stuff out of it.
let's make that move. He didn't. Instead of doing
what Jimmy Johnson would have done, he did what Woody Johnson would have done.
At the Jonas Knox on X, at Jonas Knox on Instagram, and you can hang out with us as always
on the I-Heart radio app. By the way, coming up in a little over 15 minutes from now,
we are going to tell you about the hype train, the hype train that will take center stage
in the world of football and mere hours from now.
That'll be yours here again on Fox Sports Radio.
But right now, it's time for the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
And for that, we turn it over.
One last time to the one and only,
legal act.
Jonas, we're talking a lot about debuts this hour.
How about debuts for new numbers in Green Bay?
Matthew Golden, rookie wide receiver,
has changed his number from 22 to 0.
He's on the field today.
And, of course, Micah Parsons, in his first ever practice this summer,
is not rocking 11, but rocking number one.
By the way, Leah, you're a big Packers honk.
What do you make about Micah Parsons maybe needing an epidural
before he goes out there?
It's a little concerning.
Yeah, it's a little concerning.
Obviously, he passed the physical.
A lot of people thought that this was all smoking mirrors,
that he was basically using that for his hold-in.
But yes, I guess it's a,
You know, for real, the L4, L5 in his facet joint sprain.
I don't know what that means, but that's what's being put out there in his back.
I'm not too worried about it.
I mean, they could, they would, he would need a, if they wanted to give him an epidural with a jabbling,
because his back was so screwed up, I'd still take Micah Parsons.
I'm good.
Like, no offense to Kenny Clark, but I'm good.
I'll, I'll take my chance with Micah Parsons with his L4, L5, whatever it is, going into week one that I would with Kenny Clark.
No offense.
Speaking of those number swaps there,
obviously they're going to probably give a refund for anyone who bought a Matthew
Golden jersey number 22, right?
By the way, how many people you think actually did that?
I think a couple people did.
I was thinking about it, but I already had a number 22 Green Bay Packers jersey.
Aaron Ripkowski, fullback.
Of course.
I have a lot of fullback Packers jerseys.
But, yeah, number one, no number 11.
Jane Reed will keep number 11 and Michael Parsons, number one.
By the way, are you going to get an Evan Williams jersey or what?
I'm thinking about it.
What's the problem here?
Well, the problem is Williams is too generic of a name.
There's been plenty of famous Williams on the Packers.
There's got to be an aesthetic to the jersey that you purchased.
Yeah, but you know what, though?
They do come in handy because there's a lot of Celtics fans who had a number 7 D Brown jersey from back in the day.
And then all these years later, they got Jalen Brown.
It's like, just wait.
They just keep the same jersey.
You don't have to spend any more money if you were able to hoard that and hold on to it for longer.
I just I don't understand.
For those of you that I ask the question, you know, why of all things, Evan Williams.
So a little trip back through time.
So I was having a conversation with Lee.
We were talking about traveling.
And for those of you that are not familiar, Lee's got this routine.
Before he goes on trips, what's one place that you go to and what is, what is something
you have to take with you on trips?
Well, every trip I take, I make a little trip to my local watering hole or liquor store,
I should say, grab myself some mini travel.
bottles and you got to put them in a Ziploc bag. This is a traveling tip for you.
Otherwise, they will be confiscated. But if you put those in a Ziploc bag, you're welcome to take
as many as you'd like. And so instead of having to pay up on the plane, I have my own little
to go back. And this is factual. Like everything he's saying is 100% fact. This is what he does.
But he took it a step further. I was like, dude, like, leave. So you're going to go to the liquor
store to buy like mini bottles of Jack Daniels? He's like, no. Evan Williams. Yeah. And I had
no idea what Evan Williams was until I found out that it was the cheaper version of Jack Daniels.
Oh, yeah. And better. Okay. So I was unfamiliar with that. And then when all of a sudden,
the Packers take a guy named Evan Williams. Yes. It seemed like that was one of the no-brainer
moves of all time, much like trading for Micah Parsons. Why does Lee to Lab not have an Evan Williams
Packers' Packers' jersey. He's a stud, too.
He's, well, you know, he did have
his season cut short in his rookie year, but he was
a stud up until then, and he's going to be a stud
again this season. Okay. Well, I think
it would be, uh, I think that would be a move
to get an Evan Williams Packers jersey.
That might be the one. That might be the one. I don't know. I got to get a
new jersey every year. That might be the one.
What else we got to leave? Jonas, uh, we're
talking injuries. How about some more injury updates? Taylor Ward did
avoid a serious one. If you miss it last night, he ran
into the metal scoreboard at Dykin Park. By the way, I didn't know that Minute Made Park had changed
its name to Dyken Park. Dykin is an air conditioning company in Japan. Anyway, he ran into the metal
scoreboard head first last night. Lots of blood. Ends up not being too bad. He just got a nasty cut above
his right eyes. Already had it stitched up. Obviously, he had a, he took a 92 mile per hour
fastball to the face, I think a year or two ago and had to have facial reconstructed. Jesus.
Reconstruction after that, or nasal reconstruction. So that was the big scare. But he avoided it.
So, um...
Good job.
You know what's weird about baseball?
It's the only sport
where teams are just allowed to
manipulate
the playing surface
in the field of play.
Like in the NFL,
listen, man, it's 100 yards,
120 if you add the end, uh, the end zones.
Like it's a, like this, this is what it is.
And it's like that everywhere, 50 yards wide.
Like in the NBA, like we know what the dimensions are.
In Major League Baseball, it's like,
nah, we'll just throw a giant wall up in left field
or we'll make right field shorter.
You know, why don't we go ahead and put Ivy on the walls
during parts of the year?
But early on, it's just going to be weeds and brick.
And oh, and by the way, we're going to go ahead and put metal in a cage
that's going to be sticking out awkwardly,
so outfielders cave their face in when they're trying to make plays.
It's like they determine how far a ball's hit if it's a home.
where the power owlies.
Like it's, there's no, and look, I like that about baseball because it does make the viewing
experience when you go to a baseball stadium much better than going to an NFL stadium because
it's more unique.
But it is weird that two teams in the same division or in the same league have two completely
different dimensions when it comes to their park.
It's just, like, it's odd that that's how it's done.
And it's just accepted.
like hey one place has more foul territory than the other why what why is that fair like who thought
that would be a good idea but in baseball and it's not the first thing remember houston the asteros
used to have that hill in the outfield like a random hill just just sitting there in the outfield
and nobody thought that like yeah this is awkward until years later like yeah we should probably
get rid of that but they kept the metal cage up so taylor war could cave his face in that's nice
Taylor Ward's walking around like vanilla sky
because the Astros wanted to get goofy
and put up a Tetris unit in their outfield
don't get it doesn't make any sense
what else we got Lee somebody else who's recovering from some
some facial injuries Psycho Stu that being Stuart Smith
wrestler who was brutally attacked by Rajah Jackson
I thought you were talking about Jason Stewart
executive producer oh no I just saw him he's doing just fine
yeah he's doing just fine at the other side of the hall there
Psycho Stu, you piss him off.
You're going to have to feel the wrath.
Piss off Jay Stu.
Yeah, wild.
He got released from the ER.
His injuries include trauma to both his upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip,
and a fracture to the McSillabone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.
He's got a long road to recovery.
And my question is, what is going on with Rajat Jackson?
Is he going to be charged with anything?
Some have thought even attempted murder?
I mean, I look, it'd be hard to argue against that.
I just, my, listen, it's a difficult topic because it felt like there were some people who were not in the know.
This guy tried to make some sort of a wrestling.
He tried to make it a spectacle.
He tried to do some stunt beforehand where he like smashed an open beer on Rajat.
And apparently Jackson didn't know that that was part of it.
But then went on live stream saying, I'm going to beat this guy's ass if I get an opportunity in there.
and the guy tried to apologize and say, oh, listen, man, I thought, you know, is just all part of the act?
But, you know, like, look, if you want to get your receipt in the ring, I get it.
And a receipt in wrestling is when you get payback.
If somebody hits you harder than they thought, eventually you'll get your receipt.
Like, hey, I'm going to get my receipt today.
Okay, understood.
Yeah, I kind of went a little too far last time where I hit you when I was trying to pull my punch, whatever.
But the best part about all this is while this guy is literally nearly getting beaten to death,
and he's unconscious in the ring
and he's bleeding everywhere
and choking on blood
and he's losing,
he's lost teeth,
he's got facial fractures.
Somebody gets down to cover him for the win.
Like, they're like,
well,
we got to keep with the storyline.
Like the guy's literally dying in the ring
and they're like, well, hook the leg at least.
The ref gets down there to count.
What are we doing here?
So I do, you know,
At least they take their job so serious that even a guy who might be dying,
still we've got to make sure we do this the right way to honor the great art of professional wrestling.
So there is that.
But yeah, I don't know what happened to Jackson's not if he's going to get arrested or what went on with that.
But that was problematic.
All right.
That's Lee to lap with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The herd lie news.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

today's show posted right after we get
off the air. You know, we were making the
point earlier
that college football fans
are a little crazy.
Like a little nuts.
Jenna writes
in on X,
those Southern
schools love college football so much
because that's all they have. It's either
football or sleeping with your cousin, which I
think it's just disrespectful. And I think
we're generalizing and
we're taking shots at a southern
football fan. I wouldn't
condone that sort of content.
I would not condone that sort of remark
here on this show.
That feels like
some slander there.
Eddie writes in,
what's with all these Miami Dolphins coaches?
Wasn't there another guy who
was snorting some of the
some of the powder off the desk. Yes, there was.
Yes, there was. Yeah, that is,
you are correct, sir.
That was taking place back
in the day. On video, no less.
Just so everybody knew.
Hey, what's that? You got
powdered donuts under your nose?
No?
Spill some
Ajax on the counter
and decided to get after a little bit. So,
that is the content and the
feedback we're getting when it comes to Southern
football fans. Look, and listen, the fan
bases are crazy.
Right? They get a little bit nuts.
They're not the only fan bases they get a little
nuts, a little crazy from time to time.
I can remember the first time I took my son to a baseball
game. We go to Wrigley Field.
My son loves the Cubs.
Go to Wrigley Field. We're sitting there. It's like a special moment,
you know. I'm there with my wife, my young
son. My brother's there.
I'm watching the Cubs.
It's the summertime.
in the bleachers at Wrigley Field.
And for some reason, my son stopped paying attention to the game.
I couldn't figure out why.
He was looking at something else.
And I pan over to my right.
And there is a beer cup snake,
the size of the Willis Tower in Chicago,
that's just making its way around.
Like, you know, fan bases get after a little bit, right?
And college football fans are no different.
That's just the way they operate.
and one of those
fan bases that is
officially back
later on tonight, as we mentioned
earlier, is North Carolina.
North Carolina
TCU, that wraps up the college football weekend,
the Labor Day extravaganza,
the college football weekend.
And so they are all about it.
You're going to see a star-studded guest list
for Bill Belichick's
college football coaching debut
at North Carolina.
Michael Jordan expected to be there.
Mia Hamm expected to be there.
Lawrence Taylor.
Julius Peppers.
Eric Church.
Chase Rice.
Blake Snell.
All expected to be there for Bill Belichick's debut.
And if the idea was something similar to,
hey, what do we need to do to bring the craze back into the bill?
building. It worked for Colorado. They did it with Dion Sanders. You can argue they probably didn't need to go out and make a splash hire like this. They had Mac Brown. They brought him back. He had an okay run there with North Carolina. But it, you know, not exactly a football power. They look at it like it's a basketball school and they always have. But if you were going to make a splash move and bring in a coach who was going to bring some eyeballs, especially to close up,
the college football Labor Day weekend, Bill Belichick would be that guy.
I also think it's important to point out that they are selling merchandise as well, too.
For those of you, they're not familiar.
Bill Belichick is dating Jordan Hudson.
She's a lot younger than Bill Belichick.
There's a lot of people who have their theories as to how this whole thing came together.
But they are apparently selling shirts.
Lee, what do these shirts say?
Hair Jordan?
Hair Jordan, we're not going to talk about this.
Okay.
I mean, look, man, this is what makes the Belichick experience in college football so much more fascinating.
Because there is a slapiness to college football that Belichick didn't have to deal with in the NFL.
The NFL is like really highbrow.
We talk about, you know, we talk about, you know, beer cup snakes and all that stuff.
But for the most part, the NFL is pretty highbrow.
Like when you have a Super Bowl, which is what's going to be fascinating,
if the Bills ever get back to a Super Bowl,
it's going to be fascinating to see how Bill's mafia is represented at a Super Bowl.
Because if you go to a Super Bowl, it's very corporate.
And in a lot of ways, the NFL is very corporate.
College football is off the rails.
We talked about, you know, the comments from college football fans taking
shots at the south.
College football is completely
off the rails.
And so when you see that Belichick,
Mr. Highbrow,
Mr. Serious, is
going to coach in college, he's going to
have to deal with a lot of the slapiness
that he never had to deal with in the NFL.
You know, like the student store,
selling Hare Jordan shirts, talking
about his 20-something-year-old girlfriend.
And we're not going to talk about it
as a tagline at the box. It's like
Belichick didn't have to deal with that, New England, right?
The only time Belichick had to deal with anything that was sort of,
kind of goofy off the field was when his owner decided, you know, before a game,
you know, why don't we go to an orchids of Asia and Florida and, you know, take care of business?
Like, why don't we, you know, let's operate, you know, in a more stress-free vibe as we get
ready for an AFC championship game.
Other than that, Belichick, he dealt with issues, but he didn't deal.
deal with as much as the slapiness as he's going to deal with in college.
And I'm really curious to see how he takes to it.
Because there's some coaches who just fully embrace it and say, yeah, like Lane Kiffin
loves it.
Lane Kiffin eggs it on.
He has fun with it.
Sabin kind of, you know, but he won so much that he didn't really have to, you know, he didn't
really have to deal with a lot of that.
But for a lot of these schools, they do a lot of this goofy stuff because that's just
what they're known for.
That's how they represent themselves.
And so North Carolina is rolling out everything.
They've got, you know, the celebrities are going to be in attendance.
They're making T-shirts not only of Bill Belichick, but Belichick's girlfriend.
Like, they are letting him know, like, this is a different atmosphere.
This isn't like Foxborough.
This isn't like the NFL.
Like, you embrace us.
You embrace the goofiness that comes along with college football.
in what has been, listen, maybe on the field,
not the greatest product of college football that we've seen this weekend.
Notre Dame Miami was a fun game.
LSU Clemson fun game, a lot of sloppiness,
but it is good to have college football back.
The Labor Day weekend extravaganza concludes coming up later on tonight.
And then we've got a long season of complaining
and a long season of NFL right around the corner as well too.
It's all smooth sailing after here.
It's been a fun one.
Thanks to lead to lap.
Thanks to Chris Perfet.
