Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Listen to Hey, Jonas, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed. You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming to. He's like, you know, I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the I Heart
Starting point is 00:01:00 Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Your husband is not who you think he is. Your body is not what you thought it was. Your identity is formed by a secret history. I'm Danny Shapiro. And these are just a few of the stunning stories I'll be exploring on the 14th season of Family Secrets. He kind of shoved me out of the way and said, move.
Starting point is 00:01:21 And he went out the front door and he jumped in a car and drove off. And that was the last time I saw him. Listen to Season 14 of Family Secrets on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Every family has its secrets. But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life? That is not the look of an innocent man. Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
Starting point is 00:01:48 I felt such desperation. I felt it was what I had to do. Listen to Deep Cover the Family Man. On the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is,
Starting point is 00:02:12 getting a new one put up in its place. I'm Akela Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things. As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority black city in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslave people. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever. you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday on Fox Sports Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific. Find your local station for the herd at Fox SportsRadio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeart Radio app by searching Fox Sports Radio or FSR. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. There's a lot going on in the NFL. Giants have an interim coach.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Eagles, A.J. Brown, Now. has all the leverage. Didn't trade him after the Super Bowl. Didn't trade deadline. Well, A.J. Brown knows he got the leverage now. They're stuck with him. What to do in San Francisco with Mack Jones? He's under contract with the Niners.
Starting point is 00:03:21 They'd have to trade him. But if Dante Moore doesn't come out after Mendoza, there's four teams in the top eight, nine that need a quarterback. All of these questions. Albert Breer joining us live Monday morning quarterback. Let's start with A.J. Brown. Did Philly can seriously think, Did they seriously consider moving up at the deadline?
Starting point is 00:03:39 Because there was noise and drama. There's more after it, but there was some before it. No. I mean, I think they may consider doing it after this season, but based on where they are and how leverage they are to win in the here and the now, they're defending a championship. This is what they signed up for. They knew what they signed up for.
Starting point is 00:03:56 And this is honestly one of Nick Siriani's strengths, as being able to handle and manage egos. It's one of the reasons why they could afford to take Jalen Carter, ninth overall when some teams had him off their boards. And it's why you can acquire a player like this who wasn't always perfect in Tennessee either. So, you know, I think the Eagles long ago made the decision they were going to ride it out this year with A.J. Brown and, you know, went past the trade deadline without much thought of moving him. Could you get to the offseason and could things change then? They certainly could, Colin.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I mean, that's when you have the wherewithal to actually replace him on the roster, which would have been difficult to. due in season. And we'll see what his value would be. That's a factor too here. I mean, he's going to be 29 years old. He's got, you know, some chronic knee issues that was part of the reason why Tennessee traded him in the first place. And so, like, I don't think you'd expect to get back for him what you traded for him, you know, a few years ago. So, certainly I think that'd be on the table in the offseason, but it wasn't, you know, it wasn't last week. We were talking about this with Mack Jones earlier. They're in no hurry to bring purdyback. Max had a really good season. Three, 300-yard games without Ricky Parasol, without Brandon Iuke. I can see Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:05:10 If J.J. McCarthy plays out the season and they don't feel right. And they're like, they do an Indianapolis and go get somebody they like in the league. This is how Donald and Baker and Daniel Jones career has been resurrected. That teams are like, we just, there may be one quarterback in the draft we like. We can't get him. Let's go with something we know. I don't no, I think Mac Jones is our next reclamation project. What do you think the Niners do? Well, it's interesting you bring that up, Colin, because there are some teams that are already looking at the idea of, like, you know, what we do in the offseason, and could there be another Sam Darnal Baker-Mayfield, Daniel Jones, Gino-Smith type of story out there to go and seize
Starting point is 00:05:50 upon, especially, like you said, with the draft class, maybe not looking like what people had hoped it would be coming into the year. You know, Nussmeier gets, gets benched in the middle of the Alabama game, Drew Aller is hurt, right? Like Lenora Sellers, maybe going back to school. Fernando Mendoza looks like he's going to go high up, but he may be the only first rounder at this point. You know, we have to let those things play out, but right now it does look like there's going to be more teams needing
Starting point is 00:06:15 quarterbacks than are going to be available in the first round of the draft. And so you look at these reclamation projects. And I think the Niners would look at the idea of moving him to get some draft capital because they have to get younger. And they won't be the only one. You mentioned Minnesota, you know, potentially. potentially looking that could be one of the teams that's looking for one of those reclamation projects. You know, I think Mack Jones is in that category. Some teams have looked at the idea, could
Starting point is 00:06:39 Kyler Murray be available after the year? Could Tuotunga Voloa be available after the year? I think there are going to be teams on both sides of this coin. They're going to be teams that are going to be looking at a player on their roster and say, maybe we've, you know, reached the end of the road with this player, maybe we can get something for him. And I think on the other end of the ledger, you are going to have teams that are going to be looking to see if they can find their own version of Daniel Jones, Baker, Mayfield, or Sam Darnell. So I was thinking about, I mentioned this, that not all coaches
Starting point is 00:07:05 that get fired are bad coaches, Mike McCarthy. The two examples I have used to comp Sean McDermott are Chuck Knox and Marty Schottenheimer. Excellent, but they would not, they didn't win enough in the postseason. They were seen as conservative guys.
Starting point is 00:07:21 They get to the postseason. Chuck Knox could turn the Seahawks around, the Rams around, Marty did the Chargers. But eventually, people, you start winning those games. They want postseason success. So I've said, I feel McDermott is now our Chuck Knox. Nobody disputed
Starting point is 00:07:37 he can coach. But there are holes on this offense and Tampa, let's say Tampa goes into Buffalo this weekend and win. I think the GM is safe and McDermott is. That Miami game,
Starting point is 00:07:56 if you went home and lost to Tampa, I it's going to get really uncomfortable. Is there a hot seat with McDermott, or is this just media talk thousands of miles away from Buffalo and we don't know what's going on? I think for right now it's just media talk, right? But I would say that having a quarterback of the magnitude of Josh Allen,
Starting point is 00:08:17 who, I mean, has probably been the best player in the league over the last two years, does amp up the pressure on everybody to get it done. And there's a feeling like if you keep knocking on the door and you can't quite get there, then do you have to look at something else to give yourself a spark? I don't think anybody, like you said, would argue with the job that Sean McDermott and Brandon Bean have done that they've gone to the playoffs in seven of eight years, considering where they,
Starting point is 00:08:41 where Buffalo was when they got there. It's pretty remarkable. Six playoff years in a row, five AFCs titles in a row. So, like, I think you take into account everything they've accomplished. I'm going to give you another comp here that I think is probably apt in this case. Tony Dungee and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And if you go back and you look at the mid-90s, right, that Buccaneers team that Dungey took over was a sorry outfit, right?
Starting point is 00:09:05 Like one of the dormats in all the sports, almost like you had to be there to know how bad that was, to remember what that was. They were the laughing stock of the NFL. Tony Dungey gets there. He gets them up to level ground. I think they made the playoffs four times in five years, went to an NFC title game,
Starting point is 00:09:21 and they kept knocking on the door and knocking on the door. And as they went, Warren Sapp and Derek Brooks and Ronde Barr, Harbor and John Lynch were getting older. And eventually it got to the point where we need somebody to put us over the top. It didn't mean Tony Dungey couldn't coach. But you remember what happened at the end of 01. They started to flirt with Bill Parcells. That didn't work out.
Starting point is 00:09:43 They trade for John Gruden. They win a Super Bowl the next year. You can argue whether or not that was the right move for the long term, but it did get them a championship in the short term. So that's the one that I think of when I'm thinking of this situation. Again, like I don't think there's any hot seat there now. we don't know how the rest of the year is going to play out. So if Buffalo were to somehow miss the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:10:02 which I don't think is going to happen to be clear, then I think you start to hear a little bit more of that based on where they are and based on the urgency that's created by having a player of the magnitude Allen. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays at noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific. Fox Sports Radio is taking over YouTube. And you can be a part of it.

Starting point is 00:10:46 Hit that thumbs up icon and comment away. Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:10:57 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band. Before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life,
Starting point is 00:11:54 one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. know what I mean. I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with the Adamia Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, It's Fupa's sex drive. Wait, what sex?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Dating at 45. How hard can it be? Getting naked at 50 with the new guy. That one's kind of hard. Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, How Hard can it be?
Starting point is 00:12:44 I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of my Cultura podcast network available on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
Starting point is 00:13:11 His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this. series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
Starting point is 00:13:38 we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He run up the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball, like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court. and you're going to get the bomb. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players
Starting point is 00:14:02 and IHeart Podcasts presents Soccer Moms. So I'm Leanne. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Just a little bit bigger hips, wider. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Sidebar. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? They had a bogo. Well, then you got it. Do you want a white collar or something here? Just hit it.
Starting point is 00:14:31 What are y'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album? Oh, I would. Come on. Could you move? I would buy it. Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake. That sounds delicious. Oh, you're lucky. I'm not a drug addict. You're lucky. I'm not an alcoholic. You are. I'm lucky I'm not a killer.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on. Oh. Oh. Listen to soccer moms on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Saigon, the story of my family and of the country that shaped us. The United States will not stand by and allow any power, however great, take over another country. From IHeart Podcasts, Saigon.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Please allow me to introduce Joseph Sherman. You don't think I'm serious about a free view. Vietnam? I should stop talking so much. I like hearing you talk. One city, a divided country, and the war that tore America apart. This is for Vietnam. I've taken a hit from Japanese ground fire. Do you rate me?
Starting point is 00:15:37 They're pouring patrol all over him. He's holding matches. I'm on a landmine. Four, three die. Let's get out. Freedom from Vietnam. Run! Saigon, starring Kelly Marie Tran and Rob Benedict.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Sting, here's madness. The world should heal. about this. There's a fire coming to this country and it's going to burn out everything. Listen to Saigon on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's really interesting on the Packers. So all of a sudden, Detroit's head coach is taking the game plan away from the OC. Minnesota's got a J.J. McCarthy issue.
Starting point is 00:16:19 you know the bears are surging and appear to have you know the next great young coach stuyken and ben Johnson and here's matt lafleur with an offense that is lost they can't run the ball and he'd like to they lost craft but i mean just no identity Cleveland losses Carolina losses can't score again it is i don't I think it's absurd to question Matt Lafleur but um it is It always matters if your rival is surging and you watch Chicago. What do you make of what's happening? The heat in Green Bay on LaFleur and Company. Yeah, I think there are a couple of reasons why people are bringing this up now.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Number one is a changing of the guard at the top of the organization, right? Mark Murphy was the president there for almost 20 years. He hired Matt LaFleur. He retired over the summer. Ed Policy, who had been there before, comes in as the team president. They don't extend Mufluor or the general manager, Brian Gutakunz, which naturally raises the question, like, does the new team president, who ostensibly in Green Bay is the owner, does he want to bring in his own people?
Starting point is 00:17:33 So that's number one. Then number two, you've got this group of young players that you've built around. It's Jordan Love, but it's also a lot of the other guys around him that are right there in year three, year four, year five. and this is when the rocket chips should be taking off. And then you trade for Micah Parsons, which only pushes the chips further into the middle of the table. And so, like, there's that feeling that this is your all-in year,
Starting point is 00:17:56 with Micah Parsons coming over with Jordan Love now and a $55 million per year contract. And if you're not performing to the standard, then, you know, those questions naturally are going to come up, new team president, big expenditure on the quarterback, big expenditure on a defensive star. So, like, of course, that question is going to come up. Like, is this Ed Policy's guy going forward?
Starting point is 00:18:19 That said, I think he is. You know, and I think if you look at, like, the value that Matt LaFleur brought to the franchise over, you know, his early years when he was managing the Aaron Rogers mess, he was developing Jordan Love in the background, he got Jordan Love ready to play. There's a ton of value in what Matt LaFleur has accomplished. So I think if this somehow goes the wrong way, my guess would be there may be there maybe a staff shakeup. There may be some new offensive coaches there because I think Jeff
Starting point is 00:18:46 Hathley's done a great job on the defensive side of the ball. But I'd be surprised if the floor wound up gone. Yeah. Finally, I know how this Mike Tofka thing is going to work. Is that the media is going to like him because he's friendly and smart. Jackson Dard will like him because he played in the NFL quarterback. End of the season schedule for the Giants, the weakest
Starting point is 00:19:06 part of their tough schedule, the last four games, they may win a couple of them. and by the way he's not as bombastika or as intense as dable so the players will probably like him it's my substitute teacher the interim coach everybody always loves him and then 75% chance the giants are like you know what he's our guy and i said this earlier here's what works in new york patino tory cofflin parcels culture changers where you put up kind of a fortress around your culture and it doesn't matter what the sport is. Pat Riley. Tibbs had a little bit of this.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I got an identity. It's a culture beyond just scheming. I mean, I wouldn't hire Bellet. I would go Mike McCarthy or Lane Kiffin. What do you make of, I think this Kafka thing, I think I called the GM. He said, listen. Doesn't have much presence.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Smart guy, good guy. They're going to like him. Players are going to like him. How do you think this thing unfolds? So I think you're right to feel like this is a very real audition. Look, the big reason why they fire Brian Debel when they did, and it's not a Giants type of thing to do on Insight Season firing, but it's the definition of insanity to do the same thing over and over again
Starting point is 00:20:22 and expect a different result. They're two and eight for the third year in a row. They haven't won consecutive games in almost two years, which is pretty remarkable, and they had the blown leads. So they had the big wins, then they regressed. They had the big win over the chargers, regress against the Saints. had the big win over the Eagles. They have the blown lead the next week
Starting point is 00:20:41 against Denver. Then they have another blown lead against Chicago. So clearly they're looking for a spark, but the other thing they're looking for here is a real evaluation of Mike Kafka. And I would say this. I would pay attention to the general manager's history. Okay? Joe Shane
Starting point is 00:20:57 was in Miami in 2015. In 2015, the Dolphins fired Joe Philbin four games into the year. The interim coach there was Dan Campbell. By the end of the year, Dan Campbell's hand-pick coordinators were Lou Anerumo and Zach Taylor. And there was a feeling in that building they had a pretty good thing going. And then they wind up saying, nah, you know what, we're going to go with Adam Gase. So look, like, I think that
Starting point is 00:21:25 they're going to cast a very wide net here. That's their intention. They've done a lot of different things over the last 10 years, right? They replaced Tom Kauffman with the young offensive assistant, Ben McAdoo. That doesn't work. They bring in the retread, Pat Schumer. That doesn't work. They bring in the CEO type Joe judge. That doesn't work. And then they go back to the offensive assistant now at Brian Dayball and that doesn't work. So they are going to cast a wide net and look at a lot of different types of coaches. But look at Joe Shane's history. And I just wonder with Joe, is there a little bit of like a, you know, back in Miami 10 years ago, maybe we should have paid more attention to the interim coach because we had a really good one in-house and
Starting point is 00:22:01 Dan Campbell. I think that tells you what you know, at least about Mike Kafton getting a shot. not saying he's going to get the job, but I think he does get a legitimate look. Albert Breer, good stuff, Monday morning quarterback, all sorts of moving and shaking, big NFL weekend, some real big swing games. Good seeing you, Albert. All right, thanks, Colin.
Starting point is 00:22:20 I think the other thing that's fascinating, and I know we're way early on this, but Mendoza for Indiana is going to be the first quarterback taken. A lot of discussion now that Dante Moore stand at Oregon. I'm telling me, Mac Jones is going to be Daniel Jones. He's going to be Baker Mayfield. Somebody's got to go trade for that guy.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Because Mac Jones is spinning it without his number one or two receiver. J-Mack with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Seismic matchup tonight, Colin, on Thursday night football, the Jets travel to New England. They were up to 13.5 point underdogs.
Starting point is 00:23:01 You'll see that some Jets money showing up today. I don't know if that's dumb money or what, but they're down to 12 and a half. No Garrett Wilson tonight. Obviously, this will be another platform for Drake May to show everybody that maybe he's better than Jaden Daniels. And let's be real. There is an MVP conversation for May.
Starting point is 00:23:23 I'll be real, Colin. I came on here like five weeks ago. I was like, bet them to be the number one seed. I think that's in play. And if they're the number one seed, May will get a look. I don't think he'll win it. but former North Carolina coach Mac Brown, who coached May,
Starting point is 00:23:38 said that he doesn't realize he's a superstar. And, you know, it's everything, you know, he's very Herbert. He's humble, big, big arm moves. I mean, that was the comp out of college. He's the East Coast, Justin Herbert, and that's what he looks like. Remember Herbert's rookie year when he broke all, he had like 30 touchdowns, Herbert broke all those records. He had Shane Steichen as an offensive coordinator.
Starting point is 00:24:02 The team wasn't great. but he was. Same situation. You get a veteran offensive coordinator, a smart offensive guy. He's very much Herbert. That you'll get an occasional ugly pick. Big moves, great deep ball thrower.
Starting point is 00:24:16 There's nothing I don't like. And humble. Reminder, last year, he did not start the season at quarterback. Gerard Mayo, the former head coach of the Patriots, is like, we're starting our best quarterback, and he started the other guy. Colin, Drake Bay is really free. I'm not ready to go top five quarterback.
Starting point is 00:24:36 You know I have Jalen Hertz cemented at five after the big four. But that's six spot, Stafford, May, like, you know, May's got to face some good teams. This Jets defense is not great. You want to pick a score here for tonight's game? 30 to 13. Patriots. I don't want the Jets to win, obviously, for draft status. So I'll go 27 to 9 New England rolls in a snoozer.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Next up, Colin, we've got more. Chiefs Broncos chatter. This is obviously one of the best games of the weekend. And, you know, there's some concern about Bo Nix. He has not been great. I know he's your guy. Nick's he's been up and down. And here's Peyton.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Actually, here's Nick's talking about his struggles. We make it's entertainment, business a lot bigger than what it is. And we forget that, you know, everybody's just out here, having a good time, having fun, doing the best they can. But for me, it's quite simple. Really, I delete all my social media. I don't even have it. So unless somebody says it's in my face, I don't really hear it.
Starting point is 00:25:40 And nobody's ever bold enough to say it to your face. I love that. Yeah, I mean, that's probably smart. You know, I think the thing that's been disturbing, the completion percentage, I can live with a lot of these numbers. I can live with 18 touchdowns, eight interceptions. The completion percentage worries me because I thought, out of college, he was a really accurate
Starting point is 00:26:03 thrower. And I always thought you gave up a little ceiling with him, but he was a high floor guy. But now the floor is dropped. So I don't get the high ceiling and the floor is dropped, so it's troubling. I think he'll play out of it. I got to tell you, giving Denver over a field
Starting point is 00:26:19 goal at home with that defense, I mean, again, I'm not, I'll tell you right now, I'm not betting this. That defense at home, Bownick's been very good trailing. And I get the hook at the hard game for me to bet against Denver. He's got about almost 20 games of data on it. And I know I said a week ago.
Starting point is 00:26:39 I know I did. I said, take Kansas City. But the closer we get to this thing with 90% of the public on Kansas City, now to me it's, yeah, I mean, when he was at Oregon, thanks staff, he completed 77% of his throws. So the one thing we knew is, you know, a lot of starts, super accurate. And now he's lost that. So it's like, wow, what's going on? Yeah, no Patrick Sertan, obviously.
Starting point is 00:27:04 This is a tough one, Colin. There's about 20 games of data if you and I include the playoffs on Knicks as an NFL quarterback. And to see defenses kind of bottle him up, listen, if Hart, KC's been susceptible to the run. Jacksonville ran on him with ETN. Buffalo ran on him. I need to see Harvey get loose. If Harvey's touching 80 yards, 90 yards in the fourth, Denver will be live. But if he's in the 30, 40, 50 range, they're cooked.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Final story, Colin. and the staff loves this guy, James Winston. He is starting for the New York Giants. Somehow leapfrogged Russell Wilson. Obviously, the media loves James Winston. Social media loves James Winston. He's a little wacky. He's a little silly.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Here he is talking about his expectations for Sunday. I want fans to know that I'm going to do my best. Obviously, I'm going to have fun, but I'm going to execute, have a surgical execution and just play ball, man. This is something I've been doing since. I've been four years old. Now I just get to do it in the greatest city in the world. I'm going to be saying it with my son,
Starting point is 00:28:07 it's the greatest city in the world. Yeah, that's a Hamilton reference. Yeah, he's a little silly. But, you know, he's a nice guy. And his career has been, it's been, you know, not all journeys are similar. He's going to transition to media very well, right? He'll be a smash hit on one of these shows,
Starting point is 00:28:27 Sunday show, pre-game, post game, whatever it is. You think he's got any chance to beat up on this Packers' defense on Sunday at home? Daria Slayton, we're waiting to see if he plays. If he does it. Oh, boy. James got nothing on the outside. Yeah, I like Green Bay. If I was
Starting point is 00:28:44 going to include it, I'd take Green Bay. Jay Mack with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Hurd-Lie News. I just made a decision. I made an speaking of surgical execution, I just made an executive decision. I'm having
Starting point is 00:29:00 smash burger today it's a smashburger day i'm not messing around today no i've been i've been doing good stuff red light therapy sit-ups you know i've been all that stuff red light therapy
Starting point is 00:29:12 what i'm going wait wait say more no you know i just i've been i've been healthy long enough it's uh it's not a charade it's who i am but today i'm going smash burger i you know a lot of people are anti red meat anti beef
Starting point is 00:29:27 who people that i don't enjoy being around. I was going to say. Wow. You like hanging around vegans? Not that there's anything wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just I'm going, I made an executive decision. I'm going to go a little sideways today. What are we doing? Medium, medium, medium rare. You know what? You bring it on. I'll just, I'll devour it. How's that? I'm not going to get picky. Okay. It's the herd. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS, and the I Heart Radio app. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
Starting point is 00:30:06 We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a podcast. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
Starting point is 00:30:19 We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:41 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a
Starting point is 00:31:13 parameda apostle chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I'm I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what sex? Dating at 45.
Starting point is 00:31:43 How high can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy? That one's kind of hard, you know? Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of my Cultura podcast network available on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHart Podcasts presents Soccer moms.
Starting point is 00:32:16 So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school. Absolutely. Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
Starting point is 00:32:27 This is a podcast where we're recording. starting it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey with all the snacks and drink. Sidebar. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a bogo. Well, then you got it. Do you want a white collar or something here? Just take it. What are y'all doing? Microphones? Are you making a rap album? Oh, I would. Come on.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Could you boot? I would buy it. Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake. That sounds delicious. Oh, you're lucky I'm not a drug addict. You are. I'm not an alcoholic. You're lucky. I'm not a killer.
Starting point is 00:33:01 I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on. Oh. Oh. Listen to soccer moms on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
Starting point is 00:33:25 And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
Starting point is 00:33:46 he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the flying.
Starting point is 00:34:02 He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball, like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:34:20 This is Saigon, the story of my family, and of the country that shaped us. The United States will not. stand by and allow any power however great take over another country from i heart podcasts Saigon please allow me to introduce Joseph Sherman you don't think I'm serious about a free Vietnam I should stop talking so much I like hearing you talk one city a divided country and the war that tore America apart this for Vietnam I've taken a hit from Japanese ground fire do you rate they're pouring petrol all over him he's holding matches
Starting point is 00:34:56 I'm on a landmine. Fort Pre-Dine! Let's get out! Freedom, bomb it! Run! Saigon, starring Kelly Marie-Tran and Rob Benedict. Sting, here's madness. The world should hear about this.
Starting point is 00:35:10 There's a fire coming to this country, and it's going to burn out everything. Listen to Saigon on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So earlier today, J-Max always loved Austin Reeves, and I think he's fine. I think he's in that Derek White, although Derek White's a much better defensive player, and Derek, to me, he's a better three-point shooter.
Starting point is 00:35:43 But Austin Reeves and Derek White, love to have them on my team as like the number four starter, then you're a championship team as a third starter, third best starter. You're a playoff team that can win a series. But J-Max said, you, Austin Reeves, top six-domenial. player. Okay, so I'm not going to count A.D., Jason, Tatum, or LeBron, who are hurt. Now, Halliburton, too. You can't count him. Okay, I'm not going to count those four. I would take all four over him. So I'm not going to count those four.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Halliburton, LeBron, A.D., and Jason Tatum. And they're all better than Austin Reeves. So here's the top tier guys that are active, domestic, that he's absolutely not better than. Anthony Edwards, Cade Cunningham, he's not in the same class. Tyrese, Steph Curry, Jalen Brunson, Jalen Brown, Devin Booker. That's seven guys active. He's not in that class. And he's not close to Ant or Cade Cunningham. He's not even close to those guys.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Or Steph Curry for that matter. So here's the second tier guys who every GM in the league would take over him. Donovan Mitchell, Bam on a Bayou, who's a very good two. two-way player, Kevin Durant, and Carl Anthony Towns. You don't have to love him. He's offensively one of the best domestic bigs we've had in 15 years. He's a great big. It's an unbelievable score. And then third tier, again, you'd have to be literally on cough medication to take Austin Reeves over third tier, Evan Mowbly, Jalen Williams, or Powell, Bangcaro. In fact, I'd put Bankerrol above Carl Anthony Towns. I'd move.
Starting point is 00:37:22 towns of the third. So that's, I have 14 active guys who are better. And I'm not going to count Tatum, Halliburton, AD, or LeBron. I just called a 20-second timeout. So let's rewind the tape. I did say he's top 15, which puts him on the All-Star team. Then I got so excited in the live moment here on TV. I said, Austin Ridge's top six this season. He's top seven in points and assists. Okay? And we could go side by said, obviously, Cade Cunningham, no doubt about it, you take him. But the problem with the discussion, Colin, is all those
Starting point is 00:37:55 Americans you named, they're number one options on their team. Devin Booker is the guy in Phoenix. By the way, they stink. Huh? For a reason. Well, I mean, Austin Reeves was holding it down with Luca out, putting up 30 and 40 points per game. I probably
Starting point is 00:38:11 got a little excited. He's probably not top six. Let me throw another guy in that I didn't count, who's definitely a tier three guy. Amen Thompson. Every GM. He's probably the best athlete in the league. But if Kevin Durant goes down and Shengun go down, is Amman Thompson leading the Rockets on an 8 and 3 surge? No, because he can't create the way that Austin Reeves can.
Starting point is 00:38:31 And I will point out, and the staff wants me to let you know that you keep busting Austin Reeves chops for getting worked by Ant in the playoffs. He did. He was also playing hurt. He had, like Brock Purdy and Joe Burrow, a major toe injury and was not 100%. You can look it up. It's well documented. So Reeves was playing a little wounded, and Ant went after him.
Starting point is 00:38:52 I always, the way I look at NBA players is, I look at you, are you a one on a championship team? And there's not many of those. There's not many at all. No, though. That's Steph, LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, Magic, Bird. That is rarefied air. I mean, we don't even think Ant is. Yokic is. I think Wembe will be. I've argued Jason Tatum I'm not sure about. I think he is.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Okay. But I'm saying, okay, that is a superstar. We know Austin Reeves isn't that. A two is an all-star level player that is usually dominant. It's up. Jalen Brown's a two. Anthony Davis, a dominant defender is a two. I don't think Austin Reeves is that. Okay, so he doesn't have dominant physical traits. He's not big and strong. He's a great shot career. A three can take over games in moments. Now, that's your argument. That's Clay Thompson in his prime. That's Draymond Green, catalyst defensive.
Starting point is 00:39:58 That's where you can argue Austin Reeves is at. He's in that three spot where he's not a superstar. He's not a dominant physical specimen, too. But is he Clay Thompson in his prime? Now, Clay was a much better defensive player. I'd argue he's a low-end, that or a super high-end four, Derek White to me is like the highest four in the league. So the Clay comp is fascinating because he was a catch and shoot guy. Remember he would score
Starting point is 00:40:27 like 40 points? Elite defensive player. For the injuries. Yes, he was a superstar defensively. Like all defense. I don't know if, can Reeves get to that level? I don't know the answer. He's in his prime and he's ex-iluca. So Clay was alongside Steph Curry. Now you are, you are now agreeing with me. He's not a superstar and nor is he a multiple-time All-Star. You could argue he's a really low three, which he's kind of a liability on the defensive end. He's not a super athlete.
Starting point is 00:40:54 He's not intimidated. I'll give you a player who I think's a three, but not a huge score. I think Aaron Gordon for Denver is one of the best threes in the league. He's awesome. Unbelievable. Length, strength, can score, clutch, defense. But he's not one of those guys that everybody,
Starting point is 00:41:09 you have to really like basketball and watch him. I think Jalen Williams is arguing. the best three in the league for OKC. J.W., yeah, he's good. Let me ask you. So let's go back to Clay. Clay, forget the championship, just him personally. He made all NBA twice in his career.
Starting point is 00:41:25 13. Will Austin Reeves be all NBA twice in his NBA career? No. West is, no, no chance. No. Uh-uh. Interesting. Reeves is 27.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Yeah, he's not, he's just starting his prime. Yeah, but he's not going to get more athletic. This is what he is. For at least three or four more years, he's going to be a great athlete. Right? This is what he is. What you're seeing is what he is. You think this is the best he's going to be?
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yes, yes. And I also think he's better with J.J. Reddick than Darvin Ham because J.J. Reddick's an offensive player. It's like Rui. Rui. Rui is what he is. J.J. Reddick will make him the best version of Rui, but he's not a great defensive player. He's a little inconsistent. Austin Reeves can have stinker games. But, I mean, Austin is either a low-end three or a good.
Starting point is 00:42:13 great for that's a that's a terrific player that's that's derrick white of the celtics tremendous player oh all right okay i got excited i'm not going to lie the top six in hindsight we have one of the guys on the show text me j mac you've lost your mind you know and i okay i got excited i dressed up as austin rees on the show man you could tell i'm a fan i like the guy i like underdogs well i listen a lot of people like underdogs yeah you like front runners you like the big superstars, number one picks. Those are the guys you rock with. Now, an interesting guy, a comp,
Starting point is 00:42:49 what's Zach Levine? So now, I'll like a lot. Yeah, you like him a lot. He's a gunner. Of course you do. So my take is, my take is I, there's an argument, I take Austin Reeves over Zach Levine. I do think Austin is more of a winning player.
Starting point is 00:43:05 I also think he initiates contact and gets the line. He's got zero, I mean, you know, undrafted guy, zero ego. So that's an interesting. Zach's the much better athlete, much better athlete. And just longer, quicker. But Austin Reeves doesn't need the ball.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I mean, Austin's one of those guys that could be the third or fourth scoring option and be content with it. I mean, he already said, I don't need a lot of money. So there are things about his psychology I do like. He's a team guy. Austin's a team guy. Yeah, historically, Joe Dumars are Austin Reeves. Joe Dumars. Dumas, good defender.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Reeves, a better offensive player. Yeah, Joe Dumars. Okay. Yeah. I think it's close. Reeves might pass him here in a year or two. You ever notice you like all these chuckers? You like all these guys that literally can't even get their feet planted.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Falls out. Yeah. Big championship game tonight. You want me to live stream it for you? No. No, I don't. Your best wishes, though. You wear your Austin headband gun show.
Starting point is 00:44:14 All right. We're done for the day. We've had about enough. That's about all. I'm going to go get my smash burger. In fact, I'm not even waiting to get home. Got a calf downstairs. Wow.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Go to that cafe. Bang. Got to live. You know, it's getting cold out here. Never know what's going to happen day to day in life. You just got to go make stuff happen. So I'm getting to the free throw line. Let's just put it that way.
Starting point is 00:44:36 I'm initiating offense today with the, with a smashburger. You and Caleb Williams. Hey, don't laugh. You start looking at that NFC North. Bears beat the Vikings this weekend. They're a wild car team. Absolutely. I mean, this weekend, there's like six games like that.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Yeah. Jags Chargers, Denver, Kansas City. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what?

And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place. I'm Akila Hughes. and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things.
