Well, 17 years in the NFL, which now because of Brady, you roll your eye, ah, 17 years. At the time, Warren Moon and Ron Jaworski were the guys that seemingly played forever, and that's when you could grab the quarter of, throw the quarterback, slam him into the turf. He had a great career at ESPN. Now he covers the Eagles Jaws does for NBC in Philadelphia. It is great to see him again. I just figured, I just found out he owned seven golf courses so I know who to hit up if I ever go out east to Jersey. Let's start with this. I have been surprised with Nick Sariani and Jalen Hertz. They're real. There's nothing, there's no question in my mind. Now, this is a real team. I do worry though, Jaws. As you know,

with your teams, tackle positions, Lane Johnson doesn't play, it is not the same offense. Do they need a buy week? Is this a team that desperately needs a buy week in your opinion? Well, it gives you your best opportunity to win the Super Bowl, go into the playoff games, healthy, with a buy week. First of all, Colin, let me say, great to be with you once again. I remember those fun days we had it yesterday and every Sunday morning,

so it was a great time. But when I look at this Eagle team, it might be the deepest rock, in the NFL. I know that, you know, it sounds like a homer type call, but Holly Roseman has really developed a deep roster on this football team. Now, they lost two games in a row. Jalen Hertz has been hurt, and obviously there's going to be a fallback when Carter Minchin was your quarterback. Right. But my concern is a secondary right now. You know, it's a tremendous pass rushing defense. They're only four sacks away from the 84 Bears record. Yet they don't get interceptions in the secondary. Right. I mean,

you got four defensive line with 10 sacks or more. And yet the secondary is not coming up with interceptions. I know there's been Gardner Johnson concerned. Naponte and Maddox concerns, they've had some injuries. But if I look and spin it forward, I say what concerns me is some of the elite quarterbacks in this game now, when you have a weakness in the secondary and they're not playing their best, you can be exploited.

Yeah, is there a team? I think you guys match up well with everybody. Niners are a tough matchup for everybody. Is there a route that would concern you? I mean, Green Bay now has got a run game going, but they don't have much of a deep, you know, they're not going to score it quickly. Is there a matchup issue?

I mean, what if you played Dallas again? How do you feel about that? Well, you know, I think most people look at the Eagles lost to the commanders, the Washington commanders. It's kind of a blueprint, as we like to say. Yeah. How do you beat the Eagles? Well, Washington controlled the ball for 40 minutes, 40 minutes. They ran the ball.

They just smashed mouth football. It wasn't explosive plays. It was three and four, three and four, three and four moved to change. They kept the ball away from jailers and tremendous weapons that he has to throw to. So if you look at teams that can have balance on offense, the ability to control the clock with the running game, the time of possession, and still get exposed to plays, that would be, in my opinion, the way to challenge Eagles defense. So when you look at what Brady's doing is somebody who played for 17 years, you and Warren

Moon played forever, generally I've been told by quarterbacks, the legs go. You could probably in your 50s throw a beautiful out pattern. It's the legs and the commitment to offseason. You just get tired of it. go to your last year. Do you remember your, because I think Brady's got one or two left, do you remember your last year? What went?

What couldn't you do? I do, Colin. I was with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1989, and I remember just hanging on. I was a starting quarterback in 1989 with the Chiefs, and I just knew it. I knew I had to do everything I possibly could just to get velocity on the football.

The arm strength was diminished. But I will say this about Brady. I've done some Brady games over the last couple of years. his arm strength has not diminished. I mean, it's not crazy, but he still fires the football. Whenever I do a game with Brady, I mean, I make sure I'm down there on the sideline. I want to see him throw in the football. How's he spinning?

How's he rotating? His mechanics are impeccable. Second to none. No one is better mechanically than Tom Brady. And, you know, we all know the stories about, you know, his weight takes care of his body and his eating habits and things like that. The guy's an incredible help. So I think Tom Brady could play a couple more years.

Yeah. So it's been this discussion. I asked Drew Bledso earlier. today about Mac Jones and the body language. I do think it matters. I mean, even, you know, when they select juries, they're looking for body language. Your attorney will tell a client, don't roll an eye, dress this way. I mean, that stuff matters. You cross your arms. It's a defensive position. You know, this is people that do this for a living. I never like Jay Cutler's body language. I didn't like it at all. I don't like Kyler-Murries. Mac Jones is a barker.

Does it bother you? Are you okay with a little bit of barking as a quarterback? Did you bark? No, I was passionate about what I did, but I wasn't a barker. And I agree with your point about sulking, you know, head down. Don't you look disinterested? It just sends a bad message. I think body language can force people to get a different perception of who you really are.

There's always going to be a time you bark. You know, it's the heat of the game. Those things do happen. But when you soak but your head down, that's the body language. that bothers me the most. Yeah. Brady's always been a yeller. Yeah, I mean, I guess

Peyton Manning sometime. I'll tell you this, if you win, you get away with a lot more. So. The game of the game. Just win, baby. Yeah. So when you kind of look at the playoffs going into it,

the NFC feels weaker. The AFC's got so many of the great young quarterbacks. If there was an NFC team that would surprise anybody, I mean, Detroit could still get in. Now, take the Eagles out of it because they're not going to surprise anybody.

But is there an NFC team you look at and think, I don't know, I wouldn't want to play them. Yeah, I don't know. They worry me. There is no doubt, the Green Bay Packers. You know, they're a well-coached football team. You know, people talk about Aaron and Ronald's all the time. I think Joe Barry is a fine defensive coach. They do a lot of really good things on defense.

They're getting healthier. They have the B word, balance. They can run the football. And, of course, they have Aaron Ron. Rogers. And Aaron Rogers will rip your heart out. He will rip your heart out. He's a fiercely competitive guy. I've been around him and he's been mad at me in production meetings. You know, things I've said on TV. That's how Aaron is. Whatever, whatever he has to do to get himself motivated for Sunday or Saturday, whenever the game's going to be, he will get himself all

lathered up. That's how he plays the game with tremendous passion, tremendous focus, and he has great God-given skills. Yeah. You know, the Damar Hamlin, we're getting very encouraging, news today that he is communicating with his doctors and family. He's writing. He's still got a tube for helping with oxygen. You know, you played in an era. I remember video of Joe Montana being slammed into the turf. Bradshaw, a big man. It was different. This was not, contextually, wasn't as violent a hit as like a Drew Bledsoe took on the sidelines. But your takeaway on the DeMarhanlon situation. and the time, did you ever have a moment in your career

where you were literally scared for yourself for a teammate? No, I've been knocked out twice, but never to the point where it was, oh my God, I'm not going to make it. Yeah, injuries happen. You know, that's just part of the game. And there's a warrior mentality for every one of us that played the game. But I found out interesting, just before I came out with you, Colin, they were talking to the doctors that, you know, did the, the,

whatever they were doing, you know, with CPR and everything else, on, I'm, DeMar. But when he came out of, when he came out of it, and he can't talk, he got a tube in his throat, but he was writing and he wrote, did we win?

Yeah. And that amazing. That says it all. This is a, that warrior football mentality. The guy was, you know, probably dead for a few seconds. But he's worried about,

did we win the game? Doesn't that tell you something about the guys that play this game and how honorable they are? That was the first words out of his mouth. Did we win the game? Yeah, and you said you were knocked out twice. Was there ever a moment when you thought, because you played for 17 years,

when you came two or the following week with your wife, was there ever a moment you thought, I'm going to close it down, I'm worried about my health? No, and at hindsight, I probably wish I would have done it. You got to think back into that era. Yeah. You know, the NFL has done such a great job of pleading the game up and making it less dangerous and the concussion of protocols are phenomenal, the tents behind the bench, all that.

I mean, and this, it always comes across as funny, but I don't mean it to be funny. You know, when the head trainer would come out in the field and, you know, you've seen stars and twinkling a little bit.

And, you know, he'd say, what's your wife's name? And you go, Liz, how many fingers? Two. Okay,

you're all right. Yeah. You know, that was kind of the conversion protocol. And I don't mean, it sounds like I'm making fun of it, but that's kind of what it was. we've come a long way with our medical professions

when dealing with these fine-tuned professional athletes. Jaws Ron Jaworski, NBC and Philadelphia. The Eagles are for real. It's an absolute pleasure. You're crushing it in the golf industry. Jersey and Pennsylvania is great seeing you again. Thanks, Colin. Good to see you, my friend.

All right. Got seven golf courses, seven or eight. How about that? And he said there are 60 degrees today in Pennsylvania. They're out playing. Owning seven golf? I don't know if I've played on seven different golf courses in my life. I've played a bunch, but I've never played seven.

been different, I don't think. Yeah, he played, you know, it was an, I can remember, it was just a different, it was a different game. We talked about this DeMar Hanlon situation. There was, the Bears, I went and looked at it the other day. There was, um, Hughes, Chuck Hughes, I think in 1971 was a Detroit Lions wide receiver. He had a heart condition that wasn't diagnosed. He died on the field.

And I didn't know. I don't remember it. I remember Daryl Stingley being paralyzed. But it was interesting that they, you know, they got him in an ambulance. I just kept playing. And so, you know, anytime you defend the NFL, sometimes in media circles, there's a sense. You're, you know, you're protecting the NFL. But, you know, I'm, I was watching the NFL in 1971.

Washington played Miami, Garley, Premium, the kicker, 147, dolphins won the Super Bowl. It was a violent game and it was, they promoted it. I mean, there were people wearing single bar face masks, quarterbacks. Players were grabbed and driven. Terry Bradshaw's a big man. 240 pounds. They were grabbing and driving players into the turf. So the league has made unbelievable difference in regulations and provisions and protocols.

But there is no perfectly safe way to play football or drive a car 180 miles an hour in NASCAR or UFC or boxing. These are inherently dangerous sports. You put in regulations and rules. When you watch UFC, you go back to the beginning and now. when a fighter's knocked out the referee races over to get the other guy out of him and that fighter usually gets one punch

in as the guy's down and that's it he'll tackle the fighter it didn't look like that 15 years ago it was brutal the one NFL injury I remember from my youth growing up in the DC area was the Joe Thysman Lawrence Taylor sack

I could never I saw it once I'd never watch the video game that shook a lot of kids you know we were very young but it was like the next day at school it was like, oh my gosh. Yeah. Like, is his career over? I mean, there was a, Morris Taylor was just a bad, he was a bad boy back then.

Yeah, and there was also another, a broken leg, it was the bingo game. I forget the players. Tim Crumry, does that bring a bell? Yes, yes, yes, yes. Oh my gosh, how did I pull that from the recesses of my brain? Yeah, so, I mean, listen, it's, it's, but the league, I know, you know, I've been doing this long enough. I've known a lot of executives, a lot of people in the league, they really, really, it's a big family. They care about the players.

You have to make sometimes business decisions. You have to let a running back go. You can't pay them a second contract. I mean, it's bottom line here. There's a salary cap. There are brutal decisions made based on revenue and cost. But in terms of quality of care, I think it's phenomenal that the first responders are out there in 30 seconds. A lot of love.

Yeah, a lot of love for the, I think it was one of the Bill's training staff guys, got out there instantly. it was doing CPR. Are you trained in CPR, by the way? Didn't in high school we had to get it? Well, we did it when we had kids. We were doing the Red Cross class and you have to learn how to do it. And I just feel like I need a refresher

So the defending Super Bowl champs, been a bit of a downer. They will have the most losses of any defending Super Bowl champs. Currently 5 and 11, but they can play spoiler this weekend in Seattle. Sean McVeigh acknowledged that the team fell, you know, kind of sort of short of their goals this season. This year has been, you know, in my opinion from just what I'm, I can control, you know, professional failure. And, um, and that's been humbling. It's been challenging. I think it's revealed some things that maybe I wouldn't have known about myself that you have to be able to deal with and acknowledge accordingly. Um, but if you do it the right way, I do believe you can

be stronger. But it has been, uh, something that I think every experience you always are able to learn from. Some might be good. Some might be bad. I am grateful for even though you don't want to have to go through it again. There's, there's no doubt about it that these will be lessons that, um, I am confident will make me better and a more whole person and man and leader, you know, moving forward. I think they've played their butt off. I've actually been incredibly impressed with Sean McVeigh this year. It's just there's just nothing he can do. Stafford went down.

He's revitalized to some degree. Baker May. I mean, if you think of the difference of Matt Rule and Sean McVeigh, Baker Mayfield in Carolina is a disaster. He comes out to L.A. It's pretty good. I mean, to me, I'm like, that's the best of Baker. And he's looked good without Cooper Cup, who is arguably one of the best receivers in the game.

I will point out to Rams fans, you're looking for a building block. Have you seen Cam Acres the last couple weeks? He is nice out of the backfield. He looks like the guy. I think he went to FSU. He got into, you may be right, or Ole Miss or Estes. You're one of those. Somewhere in the South.

He got into McVeigh's dog house. Yeah, he didn't want to work. He's a little entitled. Yeah. And now it seems like he's cleaned up his act, or they're just playing him because they have no other options. but Cam Acres is doing some damage. If you are a prop better, I would take the over-receiving yards against Seattle.

They cannot guard running backs out of the backfield. Their best linebacker, who I think is among the lead leaders in tackles, Brooks. He's out. Out for the season. Look for a lot of dump-offs to Cam Acres. Next up. Derek Carr! I don't think he's ever gotten this much love on the herd

in, you know, how many years you've been doing this. Colin, he's going to be the talking point here for the next month. Mr. Breer mentioned. the right after the Super Bowl is his window. His market, Derek Carr, that is, is constantly moving. Fox Bet has some numbers on Derek Carr's team. Look at that, Les Collin. How on earth are the Colts at the top of it?

I don't understand that at all. I get the Jets. They've got a tight end they like, a star running back, the kid they drafted out of Cincinnati, and Michael Pittman. Hold up. They have Matt Ryan on the books for next year for a huge number. Now, Nick Foles is probably gone, but I just, I don't see how the Colts make sense at all. Maybe they know something we don't.

Does he go back to Atlanta, Matt Ryan for a year? I don't think they won. Okay, I'm just, I'm not, I'm just... Listen, Matt Ryan had a great career, won an MVP award. Does anyone want Matt Ryan at this moment? Well, that seems harsh. He looked brutal this year. I love how you soft pedal.

Well, that's not very nice. Matt Ryan was abysmal in every facet of the game. Carr, look at that there. Panthers 800, Saints, 900. I don't see giants on the list. You, it's really funny to me. You and I totally disagree. We don't love Daniel Jones.

But the Mara family does not like chaos. There's a lot of chaos. You know, you get in this league, there's a lot of chaos. And it really turns off coaches and scouts. If you want the best people in your, that's why Washington, why would, if Derek Carr could choose, he's not going to go to Washington. They have too much chaos. I think the Mara family, because they've moved so many coaches, coordinators, they're going to keep Daniel Jones. So you're letting the Mara family run the franchise instead of the guy you hired his head coach, Brian Dable,

who turned the franchise around in one year. They haven't made the playoffs in, what, the 20, the Odell Beckham boat trip? They just did. So what do I do? You listen to your coach, Ryan Dable. I think he kind of knows what he's doing. Well, I mean, he may be a lot happier with Daniel Jones than you and I. Hey, Colin, you know, one of the executives came down during the commercial and said, Colin, I have an idea on what to do on the show.

And you looked at me and laughed, right? No, I said, okay, Mr. Boss, I'll do whatever you say. Yeah, right. No way. Listen, just buy or beware on Daniel Jones. Final story. Update on Damar Hamlin. The doctors are working continuously round the clock on Mr. Hamlin, the Buffalo Bill safety,

who was knocked unconscious and his heart stopped on Monday night football. We have words from their press conference earlier today. It's great news. Here we go. We would like to share. that there has been substantial improvement in his condition over the past 24 hours. We had significant concern about him after the injury and after the event that happened on the field, but he is making substantial progress. As of this morning, he is beginning to awaken, and it appears

that his neurological condition and function is intact. That's pretty cool. Massive. We are so lucky in this country to have the medical and health professionals we do. It's the EMTs, the first responders. I've, I had a very scary moment happened to me a few years ago out of the blue. The quality of health care in this country, at least that I've experienced, is, I mean, you just, I missed the Monday show when Brady beat Mahomes in the Super Bowl because I had a pulmonary embolism out of the blue. I think I'm in good shape. Oh, that's right. The quality, and by the way, It was during COVID, so hospitals were short-staffed, and there was a lot of people in there. The quality, it was at Torrance Memorial, was unbelievable.

Just, I mean, I must have said thank you a thousand times. These people are so good and so dedicated, and I'm missing the, I'm watching the Super Bowl from a bed. I'm worried about getting on Fox, and they're like, you're not going to be on TV tomorrow. Okay, Pyle. And it's just phenomenal. You're like the franchise quarterback, they do not want to rush back from injury. Okay, we got to take it easy. You've got to protect the franchise.

I'm Ryan Fitzgerald. I'm bouncing around team to team. Fitzpatrick? By the way, I've butchered Calvin Ridley. Yes, I got your 7,000 messages, everyone. I said Calvin Ridley back with the Falcons. He's obviously on the Jaguars. Or Jaguars.

Bulls don't feel the same. The playoff is diminishing the Bulls. Now when the playoff gets the 12 teams. I don't watch a lot of the bowls.

Last two or three years, I just don't watch them. I see the ratings. Not many people do. You know, I watch the Sun Bowl, holiday bowl, and then a couple biggies. So we're going to play bowl or boloney. The staff's going to try to fool me. We did this last year, and shockingly, you think this would be easy, but it's not. So for people that are die-hard college football fans, this stuff's a piece of

for you. You know, I watched the top five or six, then I move on. So here we go. Bowl or Bologna. Okay. Real or fake bowl game. Yeah. This is a real one, the cheese at bowl.

Obviously. This was, let me think about this. I think I watched this game. Probably not. I like cheese it's though. They're good. My son does too. Yeah, I'm not a cheese cracker.

You're not a snack guy? I'm not a cheesot guy. But I did watch the, who was in the cheese at bowl? I have no idea. But I think I watched some of it. Surely, yeah. All right. So that's a real bowl game.

Cheese at Bowl. The Bitcoin Blue Bonnet Bowl. Now, the Blue Bonnet Bowl used to be a thing. I'm not sure it still is. Listen, the Lakers playing Crypto Arena. It was leaking last night. So is the whole industry. What is a blue bonnet?

Is that like a butter? I think a blue bonnet is in Texas, the Hill country in Texas. They have bats. It's a flower. It's a blue bonnet. Texas, they call it bluebonnets. I think this is fake. Am I right?

Is it fake? That's fake. Yeah, definitely. Let's go for another one here. Bad boy mowers pinstripe ball. Now, now, so you think it's fake. My takeaway is it seems to obscure for our guys to have found this. Well, you know what?

We got a smart staff here. I know who's writing these just based on this stuff. Bad boy is just thrown in there to throw you off. There's no way. Pinstripe bowl, yes. That was the one at Yankee Stadium for a while. Okay, so this is a fake bowl game. What?

Now, there is a Boko Ritone Bowl. I know that for sure. Yeah, probably. Not sure the size of crowd that goes to the Boker atone Bowl. In fact, I think it's one of the first ones they play. Isn't it like really early December, I think? Again, I'm going to say this is a real bowl based on, you can't fate me with roofclaim.com.

Do I think the staff would... Okay, so we got that one right. Roof? I'm going to go to that website. If they'd ask me who plays in these games, I'd have gone Ofer. All right, this sound... Now, now this sounds,

Wingstop, the original Ranch Bowl. yeah, this is a real, this is real. So that's a fake one. Wingstop is a thing. I know that for sure. I've had great wings at Wingstop. Now, so basically our staff went to all this graphic trouble to just do a fake one. Are you a ranch guy with your wings by the one?

I'm a ranch guy with anything. Yeah, I love ranch. Blue cheese? Not so much. Oh, interesting. It's a little hard for me. I'm learning something new about you every day. All right.

What's the next one? The Taylor Swift Ticketmaster Bowl. I will say. our staff, if this is fake, you've gone above and beyond graphically. The Taylor Swift, now that's got to be fake. Okay, that's fake. Taylor Swift, you're a fan, though, right? I think she's great.

You know, so talented. She's amazing. She, her father is a broker in Nashville who works with a buddy, and he got me a pick from Taylor Swift and a, like an autograph thing for my daughter. You take the pick. Can I get some tickets for me and the kids? I'm a Swifty. I'm not going to lie. Is that what they call them? Yeah.

A Swifty? Yeah. My wife was embarrassed that I tried to get Taylor Swift tickets for my daughter. She's great. Of course. So talented. Yeah. Pull some strings, Calhurt.

Okay. Now this, I swear to God, this is real. The Wasabi, there was a bowl game in the Fenway Bowl. Yes, it's real. It is. I remember that one. I have no idea who played in this. I don't know why.

Do you guys back there know who played in it? Is there a military? Anybody in military? I'm going to start looking these up. I don't know. I don't know why I think that. But it was a real bowl game. Lassabi Fenway Bowl. Who would play a bowl game in the northeast in the winter? Probably Boston College every year? Maybe is that? I don't know. All right. Let's go to the next one. This is real.

The Jimmy Fallon Bowl. Yes, it is. It's the Vegas Bowl. No, double no. Come on. Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy Fallon sponsors the Vegas Bowl, doesn't he? Oh, that's Jimmy Kimmel. Oh, close while they got you. That's a good one. See, that's not fair. Did you hear the laugh from Ryan?

That's a loudest laugh since any Jets commentary. So Jimmy Kimmel sponsors the Vegas Bowl. I was jealous of that. That's a great move. Jimmy Fallon doesn't know a football from a guy. Why don't you sponsor a bowl next year? He's not a sports guy. Sponsor a bowl?

Yeah. Who has got that kind of money? I'm a radio idiot. All right. What have we got? One more? Oh, God, this looks like a real watcher. The Union Home Mortgage.

Gargage Gasparilla Bowl. That sounds too boring for anybody to make up. I think it's real. Yeah. Gasparilla, that's down in Tampa, isn't it? No clue. Gasparilla would be down in Tampa. Sounds like Texas, but... Got anything else? Yeah, this is real. Costco sample bowl. What?

That's a fake? Costco should sample a bowl. I'm a huge Costco guy. It's like my number one store to go to. How many tubs of mayonnaise does a family need? By the way, there's a lot of herd fans at Costco. I wear shades now in the store. I'm not even kidding. People are like, dude, I love you on the herd. I'm like, hey, can you pass me the 75 pack of wings?

You know, from the freezer. All right, one more of this stupid game. Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. So I watched the Sun Bowl, and I don't remember if Tony the Tiger sponsored it. Again, this is too, our staff's not that clever. I think it's a real bowl. Okay, do one more. real quick. One more. I love Fubo. The Fubo, Hulu, Roku. No, that's not true, because they're all competitive. Yeah, I, for the record, I got Hulu on streaming, not Roku. But Fubo is my go-to on my phone. I think Fubo is fantastic. Are you getting paid by them? Well, like, I don't get anything. But like, if I'm on a plane, I watch, I watch the Cowboys Titans game because I flew back late Friday night. I watched the whole thing on Fubo flying. It's fantastic.

Fantastic. Okay. Noted. But these are competitors. So the Captain Crunch Freedom Bowl, I always thought Captain Crunch deserve freedom. He was fighting for America. So I think that sounds phony baloney.

What is it? Yeah, that's fake. Captain Crunch is the worst cereal if it gets soggy with the milk. It is awful. It rips the roof of your mouth. It's really bad. You know, cereals back then, like as a kid, my mom once, she didn't like me to have too much sugar.

And one time she bought me Count Chocula. I honestly God I was like a spider I was on the roof I had so much so much like sugar in me and my mom's like
