This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan, so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away, such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot, or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule.

All right, welcome back. T.J. Hushmanzada, 11 years in the NFL, a majority of those
were the Cincinnati Bengals that are 0 and 2. There's nine teams. We can put the slate up,
our graphic up. It's funny about the 0 and 2 teams, because there's nine, and I do think
they sort of go in different levels. I think the Chargers bingles, because they have
star quarterbacks, I feel like they've got, they're okay. I think the Patriots and Broncos, because
They have great coaches and capable quarterbacks.
There's a little bit of a heartbeat.
Vikings have a pulse, not much of one.
And then call the medics.
Rookie quarterbacks are Justin Fields.
And I want to go to Justin Fields.
So he called out, he called out, you know, sort of his coaches.
And generally, there are things to say at the mic and things not to.
You don't want to create fires on that Wednesday press conference.
But they didn't run him.
The first two games, they're not really.
running him? And is it a cry for help? Is it a let me run?
Listen, I look at Lamar Jackson. His first five years in the league, the Baltimore Ravens were a run first
offense. Lamar, we're going to construct this offense around what he does best. And that's run
the ball. It just so happened to his second year he led the league in touchdown passes and wins
MVP. Finally, this year they say, you know what, we're going to change course. We're going to switch
offense and now we're going to throw the ball more. But they gave him five years of doing it
his way. It didn't work. They changed course now in his sixth season through two games. He's
completing, I believe 74% of his passes. He's not getting the league. Because he's comfortable
now. The Chicago Bears do what Justin Field does best. He can throw the ball. But run him. Let
him get comfortable in this NFL style of offense and then switch it up when you feel he's
comfortable, but it makes no sense when these coaches try to force a player to do what you want
them to do instead of what he does best. Yeah, I tend to, I think Jalen Hertz is a power running
quarterback with a pretty arm, a nice, throws a nice ball, but I don't want him running 10 times,
but I want him running six and sliding. I think Philly has an identity crisis. I think they're
really good, and they're kind of like, nobody plays anybody in the preseason. So September for
O lines and offenses, what are we?
I don't think Philly knows yet.
I think Pittsburgh's still trying to figure it out.
Now, Kyle Shanahan and the Rams
and McVeigh, those are brilliant offensive coaches.
But I do, you know, it's funny.
Nobody plays starters in the preseason.
I got to change that.
You're watching what I'm watching.
They're going to have to start just a series here and there.
I mean, you, and as a player,
I'm like, man, I wish I was playing.
And when I played, first game, you're going to go
a court, maybe a driver or two.
second game for sure a quarter third game that was like that was like almost a semi real game the third game we went the entire first half and probably two drives into the third quarter fourth game you played a series that's how it was for us i think somebody i don't know what the exact number is justin fields may have played 12 snaps in the preseason or 11% of the game i saw some number and i whatever it was it was like he played 11% of the snap look look that up ryan i remember hearing dave wonstat told me this couple of days i forget the
number he gave me, but it was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Safe passes.
Preseason, safe pass.
Like, with a young quarterback, I'm going to come out and air and out.
That's why I thought the Giants would be better this year because watching the preseason,
I like what Daniel Jones did in Brian Dave on offense.
They just came out, throw, throw, throw, throw, throw, went right down the field and
scored in the preseason game.
And I was like, wow, very impressed.
I think that's what they should be doing with these younger quarterbacks.
Preseason game, just come out and let it rip.
Just throw the ball around the field.
You know, it's interesting when I look at these quarterbacks come in.
I mean, Bryce Young's got nothing to work with.
They gave up DJ Moore to get Bryce Young.
He's got nothing to work with.
C.J. Stroud, not a lot to work with.
Anthony Richardson, something to work with.
He's pretty interesting.
Then there's Jordan Love that's got a lot to work with.
We're now in year four of him being in there.
So I look at Jordan Love of the Packers.
And my takeaway is by Thanksgiving as an organization, I want to make a call.
The draft is packed with quarterbacks.
Am I, because people could say he's not starting.
We wouldn't let a receiver sit for three years.
And then if he's bad by Thanksgiving go, I'm going to give him another year.
I, if you sit for three years, and this is 2023 now, TJ, you know this.
These kids have 10,000 snaps by the time.
they're 13.
I'm not giving
Jordan Love
C.J. Stroud's timeline.
That's fair.
I watched Jordan Love
in crisis late,
need to drive the ball.
It didn't work.
And to me,
he's got a lot to work with.
A good old line,
a good coach, a good run game.
I'm making a decision
by Thanksgiving on Jordan Love.
Does that seem harsh?
No, that's fair
because when you sat for three years
behind one of the best
quarterbacks to ever play in Aaron Rogers.
And one of the smartest,
so you could learn.
from you should have taken some things from him now christian watson hasn't played
romeo dobs is a really good player tight ends rookies very young you need to give him i
would say 10 games this year just can we be seven and three six and four can you show progress
because it yeah that's fair ready as you think you may be when those games start in that
anticipation and that nervousness builds up. You got to take deep breaths and breathe to calm yourself
down. There's nothing that can prepare you for it, but the actual game reps, it's, oh, go out
there and relax and just play football. It's easy to say until that ball is kicked off and you got to
run onto that field and you got to compose yourself and, all right, let me state, he had never really
been in a situation where you have to drive an NFL team down the field and get him in field goal range.
that was his first time.
So now let's see moving forward if things will be different,
if he can slow himself down and not panic as much.
So in your NFL career, Bengals, Seahawks, Ravens, Raiders,
Pittsburgh's got a situation now.
I think it's all right, except the O.C.
They're chanting in the crowd.
So if you look at the offensive rankings since Matt Canada has been there,
26, 27, 30, 31st, they got weapons, tied end, receivers, backs,
great defense.
Look at their offensive ranks.
It's not working.
And Tomlin knows it.
He knows it.
He knows it.
Why won't he make a move?
He's not going to have a choice after this year.
I believe he won't fire in season.
I believe he wanted Kenny Pickett to stay in the same offense.
I didn't want to bring in, I'm speaking as Mike Tomlin, a new offensive coordinator,
and now my second year quarterback is in another system in his second year.
Let's see another year in a system if that helps.
because he knows defensively they can slow team downs.
And if need be, we can just run the ball, play defense,
and hopefully our defense can keep us in a game.
Like they did against the Cleveland Browns.
It's not working.
The way Matt Canada calls plays and he may expect a certain defense,
it just doesn't work.
So here's my thing.
You can't fool players.
You think those Steeler players know.
We got to coach ain't working.
100%.
They're talking about him in the locker room.
100% Kenny Pickett is getting on the phone with whatever coach he trusts.
When he's driving home.
Yes, 100%.
You'll never say it because when you start talking, and I had to learn this the hard way,
you start talking about coaches, they hear about it.
They're going to call they, oh, man, TJ is not coachable.
Man, he thinks he knows everything.
I'm just saying what I see.
And there's good doctors.
There's good show hosts.
But there's also bad doctors and bad show hosts.
And bad pilots.
And you have to understand who's who.
Like every coach is not a good coach.
My dad gave you a job, so now I'm going to give you a job.
I mean, there is some of that.
That's how it works.
And not saying that Matt Canada is a bad coach, but it ain't working in Pittsburgh.
I had a bad doctor once.
You ever have a bad doctor?
Yeah.
I had one.
But you didn't know it.
You had to go through the experience.
You're like, wow, this dude is trash.
Yeah.
And so Matt Canada is just doesn't, Mike Tomlin knows it.
He knows.
and he's hoping that they can figure it out.
But with that defense and all the money that they put onto the defensive side of the ball,
you would hope your offense can be complimentary.
You take that George Pickens' long touchdown catch out of the –
they had no yards on offense.
You take that –
They had nothing.
Deshaun Watson just gift-wrapped them the game.
And so Tomlin knows it.
I'd be very, very surprised if Canada's the head coach next –
I mean the offensive coordinator next year.
I have a great parlay for you this weekend, thanks to Draft King Sportsbook.
New users use the code heard when you download the app.
All right, I'm going to go with a three dog parlay pick via Draft King Sportsbook.
All right, Chargers plus one of the Vikings.
They have a better team.
They're desperate, better roster.
And I think this is the moment for the Chargers this season.
Line in the sand.
Lose they're thinking about a new coach.
I think they win.
They've had moments in both their losses.
Chargers win by a touchdown.
Steelers plus three at the Raiders.
Why?
I think Pittsburgh's a better roster overall.
After an ugly win and an epically bad performance by the O-line,
they'll hear about it from Tomlin and play inspired.
Take the Steelers by a touchdown.
And Rams plus one at the Bengals, Joe Burrell may not play,
and the Rams are the shock of the league.
If you want to take the herd parlay, check out drafts.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because,
of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
So the Dion Sanders effect is unbelievable.
Most streamed game in ESPN history.
Most watched Saturday night game in ESPN history, I think it was.
That's insane.
Beating SEC games, big Ohio state games, Penn State games, whatever.
So I look at it and Joel Klapp brought this up.
So if I'm should do her Sanders, because Dion said, my son's not going pro.
And I thought, I was like, no, that's not.
It's the best quarterback draft class I've ever seen.
Bonix, Caleb, Drake May, Riley Leonard,
Travis Jordan at Florida State.
Pennix.
Penix is filthy.
Oh, lefty.
Okay.
Shadour's number one pick the following year.
He may be third now, fourth now.
NIL.
Joel Klatt says, you don't think he can get a $5 million deal?
Will NIL create opportunities, maybe only once or twice a year?
for a college quarterback to say, I'm not playing for Arizona.
Because there's only about one or two bad situations in the league annually.
I'm not talking bad teams.
There's over seven or eight.
But like one or two where you don't like the owner, we just got rid of the Phoenix Sun's owner,
the L.A. Clippers owner, the Washington owner.
There are bad owners.
Would you, if you had a son, say to him, listen, you can make six and a half million in college,
nine in the pros, but you could be number one the following year.
even if you're a top 10 pick.
And I think Shadur would be a top 10 pick.
It's very possible speaking just specifically Shadur
because Travis Hunter transferred to Colorado to play with you, Shadur.
He can't leave this year.
And when Prime says you're not leaving,
I believe Travis Hunter is part of that reason.
And a lot of guys will leave early
because you're going to be the first pick.
Or you just financially, you need the money.
Shadurr doesn't need the money.
You don't need the money.
the money. And he's not going to be the number one pick. And you're not, and now that you can
possibly be the number one pick, now your team's going to be better next year because the
offensive line will be better, that defensive front will be better. That, that's where
they're not competing with other teams when you start playing the Oregon's and U.S.
as we'll see moving forward. Skill guys, they're fine. It's the guys in the middle. But
if my son was coming out and he had an opportunity to be the first pick the following year,
uh, we'll just stay in college.
Especially if I'm going to go to a situation that I don't believe is beneficial.
Where you go matters a ton.
Outside of like, seriously, outside of an occasional Andrew Locke.
I mean, Joe Burrow, I was dead wrong on that.
I'm like, if Carson couldn't change the Mingoes, Joe couldn't.
I was dead wrong.
Joe changed it.
But how many guys.
About one every five years?
Are going to do that.
And so you just don't take those chances when you don't have to.
NIL is going to
I know everybody doesn't like change
but I really do believe there's a possible
Now I think Caleb will go pro
But I think when Caleb Williams came out
And said I don't like this whole thing
Where I can't choose it
His dad echoed his sentiment
I think they were talking directly about Arizona
But if you think about it with the Cardinals
They draft Caleb one
They also have another first round pick
So now they get Marvin Harrison
Bing, you're good to go
So you got a top flight receiver
in a tough flight quarterback,
and the Cardinals have not looked bad this season.
Now, ownership can be what it is,
but when you get those caliber players,
you immediately have a chance.
Let me throw this at you.
That is suggested Carson Wentz to the Jets.
I would hold off on that one,
although I do think he's the most talented quarterback
that's not playing in the league.
He's out here working too.
What's that?
What's that?
He out here working.
With who?
He out here working just for when an opportunity becomes available.
Have you seen him?
Yeah.
Have you worked with him?
I mean, I haven't worked with him.
I see him on the field and, uh.
How's he look?
He looks good.
I mean, he's going to look good throwing the ball.
Big dude can run, can throw it.
How's his health?
Looks fine to me.
He's very fine to me.
J-Mack.
Maybe that suggestion by a popular host wasn't terrible.
Who's that popular house?
I'm not going to get into it.
He's not that popular.
Trust me.
Well, whatever.
Okay, here's the point, though.
I do agree today, Carson Wentz feels risky.
I don't think he was loved in Indy.
He wasn't loved at all in Philly.
So I agree.
You get blown out by Belichick.
It's funny how the world changes.
I'm not doing Kirk cousins.
Give me a break.
That's not, you're not getting anywhere.
I like Kirk.
But Carson Went is 6.5.5.
Big dude.
If you bring Carson,
Wentz in, you're basically saying, Zach, you got to go.
There's just no way.
You'd have to get him out of the building?
Zach is going to be upset about that.
Now, he may show it.
He may not.
Who knows?
But when Carson Wentz comes in, it's going to take him two weeks,
learn a system.
He's starting.
You're not bringing him in to be the backup.
You're bringing him in to start.
And so if you bring him in, you're basically saying,
our season is almost over.
So would you bring them in
or would you just say,
let us see what Zach can do because...
Would you do Wenz or Kirk Cousins?
I would do Wins because Kirk Cousins is going to cost something.
I can't give up capital
after I gave up capital for Aaron Rogers.
What about that take?
Do you buy that take?
T.J.
They're all in.
They have to be all in.
On what?
On going for it.
Like you're not paying sauce gardener,
your young guys,
you're not paying.
You go all in on.
Kirk Cousins, you're not winning the Super Bowl.
Why not?
You got a great defense.
Why not?
Wait, T-Jet.
That's your jet fandom kicking in right there.
You're not, like, the Jets are really good.
But people, Kirk Cousins comes in, they'll be better.
But learning the system, people make like it's so easy.
Kirk Cousins is going to be reciting Minnesota Vikings plays in his head when the Jet
plays are called.
That's a great point.
Whereas Carson Wentz isn't.
And so...
It's like learning the language.
I would go...
Yeah, you got to go all in,
but you also have to plan for the future.
Yeah.
Salt Gardner isn't making a lot of money.
Garrett Wilson isn't making a lot of money.
But there's nobody out there right now
that's going to get you to the Super Bowl.
It's not going to happen.
Kirk Cousins also, we saw him on the Netflix quarterback series,
locked in, very nerdy, like, hardcore...
That show made me love Kirk Cousins.
And remember, he's playing for another big contract after this.
So you know he's putting all his work in to the Jets and then Nathaniel Hackett offense, whatever that is.
Like, he will be locked in.
Is he still going to, is he not going to come in on a Tuesday?
Because that's what he spends time with his family.
You see the show on a quarterback show, he did not come in on a Tuesday.
You go to a new team.
You're coming in on a Tuesday.
Well, you know, Cowher did tell me, you know, Wednesdays I got to spend some time with my family.
I can do it remote the show maybe.
Like, you know, sometimes people make exceptions.
I would go Carson Wentz because what are you going to give up to get Kirk Cousins?
10 million bucks and probably a pick.
What, a third?
You don't have a second?
You don't have a second.
I'm not giving up my first for sure.
I'll give up a third.
Well, then you won't have a second or a third.
Well, you got a first, and maybe you got a Super Bowl.
They have needs.
First of all, they need a left tackle with their first pick if they get it.
They also need another receiver behind Garrett.
They also need to draft a quarterback fourth, fifth, or sixth round.
It sucks for the Jets that what happened in Aaron Rogers happened.
But that's your reality.
And if Zach Wilson can't get it done,
you got to draft another quarterback.
20-24 season, here we come.
I mean, it sucks for the Jets,
because I really felt like what Aaron Rogers, it would be.
They have to draft a quarterback next year.
Unless they, no, forget, here.
So, Zach's done, and Aaron's 40 off an Achilles surgery.
Can we give Zach a chance against the Patriots?
You're like, Zach's done.
It's over.
Kick him to the curve.
Zach needs to just play free, man.
Trust your eyes.
Like Justin Fields, right?
Trust your eyes.
If you're wrong, you're wrong.
Go back and watch what Bill is done.
Trust your eyes, but more than anything,
just throw the ball to Garrett Wilson.
Like straight like that, that sounds crazy.
Throw the ball to your best players and let's see what happens.
If I'm going down, I'm going down with 17 trying to lead.
Like, if I'm Zach, if I see single high, I don't care where to read is.
I'm going to 17.
That's what I'm doing if I'm Zach Wilson.
Look how wide receivers think about offense.
I'm going to make you look good.
I'm going to make you my OC.
I'm going to make you.
I just got to recruit good receivers.
It's never the plays.
It's always the players.
Well, the plays matter a little.
I'm talking when the play starts.
In doubt, go to the guy.
Look at the one-hand catch against Buffalo.
He made a play that was very improbable.
How about, by the way, Olave for the Saints?
You see that catch up the sidelines?
What the hell was that?
I mean, Ohio State is.
Garethers, Garrett Wilson, Olave are insane.
They're doing like one-hand stuff is a, like the OBJ stuff is what they do in warm-ups now.
They practice it now.
You practice when I was playing catching a ball with one hand and you don't catch it.
Oh my God.
Coach might make the whole team run gassers.
Really?
Now it's like.
Do you ever try it?
You wouldn't.
We never tried it, but you could just get one hand on the ball.
Catch it with two.
And I'm like, if I could, I would.
Like I'm reaching with one because this is my only option.
we got to take a break

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jette.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here.
unpack what went down and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 was big to me not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Then you're finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for blood.
Black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years from black people in
American history. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
get your podcasts. All right, good show today. We're flying by. Joel Klaught was money. T.J.
Herschman Zada all fired up. J. Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no, turn on the news. This is the Herdline News.
It's early on C.J. Stroud. I don't think he's been particularly good, but the offensive
line has been a disaster. The defense stinks. He's completing 64% of his passes, two touchdowns.
D'emico Ryan's is encouraged by his QB play. C.J. is a very, very good processor. Smart quarterback.
He's not going to make the same mistake twice. That's one thing I like about him. He knows
there's some mistakes. He knows how to correct them on the fly. And it's just encouraging
when you see a young player, rookie quarterback, who is able to
make steps in the right direction.
He's able to progress.
He's able to grow within games.
You see in our past game where he got pressure and held on to the ball a little too long
and he comes back and he makes the right decision with the football.
Yeah, here's the thing.
His comp was Jared Goff.
Jared Goff, and I think it's a pretty accurate comp,
Jared Goff scuffed year one until he got a left tackle and an offensive coach.
So how about this?
Stroud, this is being written on my screen, is the first quarterback in NFL history, without
an interception in his first 80 pass attempts.
Ooh.
Well, that's impressive.
Come on.
On a bad team without great protection?
So he's not making any dangerous throws.
Congratulations.
Time out.
Time out.
Time out.
This season, among the rookie quarterbacks, he's first in yards and attempts.
Passer rate, his passer rating is 91?
Oh, my gosh.
Colin.
All right, I think this cinches it.
I'm betting on Jacksonville this weekend.
Like, come on. Really?
They're one for seven in the red zone.
They cannot score.
Well, he's a kid.
Yeah, he doesn't want to make mistakes.
By the way, do you see Trevor Lawrence in the red zone this week?
He struggled.
Against the Chiefs in elite defense.
T.J. Strauss playing the – I almost said a bad word there.
They're playing the Colts last week.
They were down 310.
Colts gave the Jags fits.
Oh, dear.
Can we give these young guys a shot?
You like Trout. Wonderful.
I don't love him.
I like what I see.
Yeah.
So the other.
rookie quarterbacks are Bryce Young.
I watched him.
Who's running and is concussed and knocked out.
Here's my takeaway in the rookie quarterbacks.
Anthony Richardson's wildly dynamic, but as we predicted,
roller coaster.
Bryce Young's got nothing to work with but throws a beautiful ball.
MCJ.
Stroud's comp, Jared Goff, looks accurate.
That he's not going to blow the world up.
He doesn't ever see this.
But Jared Goff, what is one of his strengths?
He doesn't throw picks.
He went like 350 throws without a pick.
Stroud doesn't have a ton of,
he's not moving a lot, but if Stroud is Jared Gough, that's a hell of a player.
To be fair, I did just pick up the receiver, Del, Farmer in the Dell, whatever his name is on Houston.
Young guy.
I was just trying to make a joke.
The tank guy, the tank guy.
Very defensive.
Let's move on.
Talk about another rookie quarterback, Bryce Young.
I don't know if you saw this.
We did briefly touch on it, but he was pulled so Andy Dalton could be in there for short yard of situation.
I totally understood it.
I back that move.
Okay. Well, listen to Frank Reich defend the move saying he wants to limit Bryce Young's injury risk.
Some of those things, you just want to limit the exposure of Bryce to us.
And Bryce can do any of it. But you got an experienced veteran.
There's no golden rule that says he can't come in and play a couple plays in the game.
I mean, look what the Saints did. I mean, I know Taston Hill is a different story,
but why not do that to a lesser extent if it can be utilized in a positive way?
I totally agree with that, especially with a rookie quarterback.
They brought him in on a third.
They brought him in on a flip when he did the left-handed flip.
Also, Bryce Young is a smaller quarterback.
I don't love this quarterback sneak thing with eight guys pile on you.
I don't love that.
There's such a rich history of injuries to the quarterbacks when they're doing the sneaks, right?
I don't like it.
The Jalen Hertz play, which people want to outlaw it's so successful, but you don't like it.
Yeah, that's fine.
They're going to get rid of that thing after this year.
For some reason, I'm becoming like a rookie quarterback hater.
I'm not. I didn't love Bryce Young.
We were divided on this. Like, I would never have traded up for him.
They don't have weapons. He's tiny.
Like, I just...
Well, that's yet to be determined. You could be right.
I would have...
If I thought there was one guy in the...
That was better than the others for the most important position, I would have moved up.
I would have really preferred not to give DJ Moore away because I think Bryce needs a one.
He's got a bunch of two and three.
Adam Thielen can't get open. It's bad.
All right, final story.
Colts tight end.
Someone named Kylan Granson caught his first NFL touchdown pass Sunday in that win over the Texans.
Granson kept the milestone if you're watching on TV.
He did a photo shoot with the football as if it were a baby.
I like that.
This is a very heartwarming story to end the show where I've become a hater and you are the voice of reason.
He's very happy.
Be nice.
I've got to give this guy some props.
How many people in the world get a touchdown in the NFL?
How many?
Like almost nobody.
You know, in the history of the world.
He said, Hushman Zada was just here.
He's had a ton of touch.
Yeah, he was all packed 12.
He was really good.
I'm joking.
Come on.
I don't know.
You or I could have scored a touchdown in the NFL?
No.
I couldn't make, I couldn't, I couldn't do anything in any pro sports league for 10 seconds.
Really?
Do you understand how good they are?
They did a survey years ago.
They did a survey years ago.
And I talked about this when I was at the other place.
that 75% of men who are like high school athletes
believe they could have played pro
if A, if it wasn't for an injury or a coach had it out for him
or the circumstances would be better.
You ever see those meatballs who run onto a field,
how unathletic they are,
some security guy chases them down?
That's half our audience, buddy.
Come on, you've got to lay off.
Oh, no, I love my audience.
Not as a pro athlete.
I mean, it's okay if you think you could do this.
You couldn't, but it's okay.
It's okay if you think you could be the mayor of your town.
That's okay, too.
Oh, come on.
You don't think you could be the mayor of a town?
No, I don't.
No, I do not.
That's a hard job?
To be mayor of L.A.
Well, mayor of L.A., that's a big city.
Well, mayor of Ann Arbor, Michigan's not easy.
He's just cozy up to the university.
Give me a break.
That's not a hard job.
You don't think mayor in a medium-
A city under 250,000 people.
Yes, you could easily handle it.
I could I could be the mayor of Green Bay.
I'd be hated.
I don't know how many people are there, but that's not that hard of a job.
You don't think mayor is a hard job.
A small of a small town?
No.
I've seen, I'm watching Gilmore girls with my daughter now.
And like, that's like the kind of small town I'm talking about.
It's so easy.
That's a television show.
I know, but that's not real life.
I think being, yeah.
Hide them.
Do you think, okay, so give me, so you think being a small town mayor is easy.
So I'll give you a city.
And you tell me if it's an easy.
Austin, Texas.
Texas politics?
Listen.
You want to be part of that?
My domain expertise is sports and gambling.
I'm not ready to veer into politics yet.
Every guy in the internet thinks they know Bitcoin and NFTs, so go ahead.
They're just losing money.
But just final quick question here.
Just to wrap up the rookie quarterbacks.
Have you seen anything through two weeks that makes you think Bryce Young, C.J. Schroeder, Anthony Richardson.
It has like a real future in this league.
Yes, all three.
Anthony Richardson is incredibly dynamic.
C.J. Stroud doesn't make big mistakes.
And Bryce throws a beautiful, beautiful ball and sees the field really well.
And what he sees is nobody's open.
I think all three have shown, they're kind of what we thought.
Bryce throws the prettiest ball, sees the field.
CJ's bigger.
Doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but you don't get a lot of juice.
And Anthony Richardson's the roller coaster, but crazy, crazy dynamic.
I mean, it's tough, Colin.
All three I like.
I don't like, I don't know if any of them have a future.
You just, I just remember Justin Herbert as a rookie thrust into,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Tyrod Taylor goes out with the chest thing.
Herbert just gets thrust in and instantly are like,
that is an NFL quarterback.
They took no time whatsoever.
Okay, but that's a top five guy.
He's viewed as a top five or six guy.
I don't think these guys are top five, six.
Can they be 12, 13, 15, 60?
Yes.
That's Datt Prescott, Kirk Cousins territory.
Jack Prescott's won multiple playoffs.
No, no, Dak Prescott started his career in Dallas, came in, and you were like, this guy knows what he's doing.
He's delivering passes, he's making, we're not seeing that from these young guys.
He had the best O-Line and run game in the league.
C.J. Strouds out there working with hockey scores.
He's got nothing.
Okay, that's a fair point.
J-Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
Am I overly optimistic today?
That's the new me.
Glass half full Uncle Colin.
I like these young quarterback.
I think all of them have shown something.
All right, we'll see you tomorrow.
Live in L.A. It's the herd.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
