Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.

seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they hit a bogo.

And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our
podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into
the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back
on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying.
You just understood. That's how personal it got.
Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquisiebkeep coming to

Chris Peterson, 14 years in college football, made a bowl appearance every year.
Won four games for everyone.
He lost four and a half.
So one of the great all-time college football coaches of all time.
He's joining us live from the Pacific Northwest.
He was at the Seahawks Rams game, and we were talking off air.
You know McVeigh pretty well.
I asked about the quarterbacks, and I want you to share what you did.
with about Matt Stafford and how blown away you are
because you were at the game last night.
Yeah, so I've had a chance to be around the Rams
a little bit over the last couple years,
seeing him practice, see how he studies,
see how he treats guys.
And then how he processes,
you know, Sean's got this unbelievable system
of offensive football,
but it's very wordy as well.
I mean, a lot of plays are 20 words long.
this guy has a photographic memory
he does not wear a wristband
to call the plays off
he knows the entire game plan
the arm angles that he throws with
how he processes how fast he gets through things
the accuracy that he throws
and he's not a runner
it is truly amazing
and I have so much appreciation
watching this greatness
when you get a chance to see behind the scenes a little bit
it is phenomenal
like this no look past
that we're looking at, it's crazy.
Like he does it every game.
It is a true master of his craft every Sunday.
For the record, you coached Puka at Washington.
You recruited him, got him.
Tell me what you thought of him as a true freshman in Seattle.
Well, we played him as a true freshman,
and we had some pretty good receivers.
I'll say that.
And I saw this in high school.
I think he was the all-time leading high school
receiver in the state of Utah. And you'd see him catch these phenomenal passes. The harder the catch,
the more you felt like he was going to make it. And then he comes up here to Washington. And it was
the same thing. He just made all these tough catches. The harder the catch, the more you knew he was
going to make it. The body control, strong hands, really great football IQ of feeling
the game. It was a blessing to be able to coach him for the short time that I did. I remember that
team. You had some NFL receivers and he played as a freshman. I remember that. Yep. And he was just
starting to come on halfway through his freshman year and he ended up breaking his foot,
just planning weird. So you could feel all this and he was going to just do some really, really
special things. So you go to the college football playoff and it's different than a bowl game. I mean,
you had great bowl success. Now, now, especially if you're in Oregon or a Georgia, Ohio State,
you could have three, four games back to back. How would, it's very NFL. And that's why I like
that Ryan Day went and got Chip Kelly, NFL experience. Matt, Patricia, NFL experience. I do think
it's different than your old bowl style. How would you coach a little different knowing it could
be the first of two, three or four games? Yeah, I think you're coaching it like, okay,
we're going to get a chance to get rested up,
recharged, healed up a little bit.
And then we're going to play this three to four games season.
But it's all good on good.
So I don't like the huge layoffs that some of these buy teams have.
I think you get out there.
Everybody that's got a buy is in a great rhythm right now.
And now all you're doing is taking them out of the rhythm.
So I think that's, and we saw it last year a little bit,
because of the matchups were uneven.
But, you know, we saw some of these seated teams that had buys lose and everyone's going on.
Well, part of it is you lose your rhythm.
And so I think it's a new season, fresh start, all the things that we've learned,
all the hard things that we've been through.
We take those lessons forward, and it is all in all we got.
The cool thing is, is now school is now behind us.
I know nobody talks about academics anymore in college football.
and college athlete, but that is real, and that is a thing.
And so now finals are behind us and we can just go,
and it's kind of pro-footballish, being at our best.
You always as a coach, one of the things that always,
whether you're playing in a ball game before college football playoffs,
are we playing our best at the end of the year?
That is a goal.
And I think everybody that's, you know, in this tournament is doing that.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call.
about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart Radio app, Apple,

Hey, I'm Jared Adano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than that. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian.
And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, hope from a hypocrite,
I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions.
Sike, I'm a comedian.
I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant,
recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man.
If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone,
let it ring twice.
One ring is too scary.

Hey, cream.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game is about
defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin
Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the
playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he
has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends
stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that
thing. That man, hell get to fly. He run up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball. Like,
you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure,
it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar something here?
Just take it.
What are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
Come on.
I would buy it.
Go.
Go.
Go.
It's like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
You are.
I'm not a killer.
I love this team.
And I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How Hard Can It Be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from all.
Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45. How can it be getting naked at 50 with a new guy?
That one's kind of hard.
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're.
We're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter,
and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask,
How Hard Can It Be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

You saw Fernando Mendoz at Cal and he wasn't this good.
Are you surprised at his growth?
because you saw him at Cal and it was up and down.
I am so surprised at the entire Indiana program.
Like last year when Signetti came in there, I was like, yeah, wow, he kind of hit
a big and that was impressive.
And then to come back and do it again, and you're right, I did get a chance to watch
Fernando at Cal and it was like, wow, what an impressive throw.
But then he'd have some throws or some things that would kind of really hurt him.
and how he's grown in this Indiana offense with Signetti and company
has been nothing short of amazing.
I mean, it really was.
I thought, you know, before Cal it was like some good, a lot, just good enough to get you beat.
Now this guy is truly an elite college player.
I mean, he can move good, the accuracy, doesn't have an cannon for an arm,
but it's plenty strong enough and throws like this.
Wow.
I mean, I've been so so impressed.
and, you know, I had a chance this year actually to vote for the Heisman Trophy.
And, I mean, I went back so hard between Pobby and him.
And I actually did vote for Fernando as the winner with a super, super close second to Pavia.
You know, it's interesting.
The NIL, Marcus Freeman's name gets mentioned.
They're one of the last teams that didn't make it.
And I look at it and I think, well, he can make a lot of money, but he's making a lot of money now.
He can control personnel.
But college football, some would say it's like a poor man's NFL.
You're paying everybody.
You know, it's constant free agency.
But some coaches, I mean, Signetti may like it.
He's older.
He didn't want to just do recruiting for high school.
He may like to write some checks and not have to go on the road as much.
For a guy like Marcus Freeman, who's got the young guy energy, would you consider the NFL or stay at Notre Dame?
I love Marcus Freeman.
I like Notre Dame a lot.
I think it's really a bummer that they are left out of this playoff because I look at it like this.
This is a team that could have a chance to win the tournament and you're left out.
That hurts.
Now, should, in my opinion, they have gone in over Miami?
No.
Miami beat them.
And there was enough closeness between it.
Like, if we beat you and our records are the same, the schedules are similar, I should go in.
But I'm just saying this, Colin.
I mean, I think college football is so nuts right now and so crazy.
If I'm a Marcus Freeman-type young coach, big career in front of me,
I'm looking really hard at the NFL because it's just 24-7, 365 of nonsense.
The good part is Saturdays when we get to play the game.
We all love them, the coaches love them, but the behind the scenes,
it's like you can't make up this stuff what's going on.
Coaches right now are looking at players to add to their team.
of players that aren't even in the portal yet.
I think I've got a list of, oh, here's the good running backs,
here's the good receivers, and they're not in the portal,
but they know that they can go bid them right into the portal.
And it's just the crazy, I mean, that's the tip of the iceberg.
So if I had an owner that I thought was outstanding and the GM,
and I'm soul to soul and got alignment with that,
I'm looking really hard at the NFL because it's just a better way of life right now.
And I would never have said that eight years ago.
I think Ohio State's the best team.
Indiana maybe two.
Talk about the Buckeyes.
Would you favor them going in?
Because Georgia's good, but they're not Georgia three years ago.
Georgia won a lot of close games.
I think this is interesting because I think you're talking about the right thing.
When I look at this tournament, I kind of have it a lot like you had your picks.
I can't wait to see this Georgia-Ohio-State matchup.
I mean, that is going to be for real.
And I have loved Ohio State all year long.
I think Julianne's saying is so good.
I cannot believe the kids are not a red shirt freshman
and the weapons that he has to throw to.
The running game's coming along.
So I've been all about Ohio State all year long.
But I'm changing my pick here because what I don't like
is the coaches that are moving,
that have taken head jobs that are moving on or the head coaches that are moving on,
I think that is very distracting and unsettling.
And the fact that, you know, Brian Hartline did a great job.
He's got a new job, whether he's with him or not.
I think that that's a big thing.
So I think Georgia's been so sneaky good all year long.
I probably like Georgia, maybe over Ohio State right now.
And I'm really surprised I'm even saying that.
And so I could see Indiana, Georgia,
in a really cool championship game.
But I'm not betting against Kirk Signetti.
I mean, I've been doing that for too long now,
and that guy just keeps proving everybody wrong,
and himself and his team right.
Finally, Michigan job is open.
Let's say Kalin DeBore loses tonight.
Michigan calls him up and said,
Kaelin, we want you.
Whether he takes it or not,
there's an argument.
I remember talking to coaches.
about this. They're like the SEC is different.
The Big Ten's intense, but
Michigan's not Bama on the intensity
scale. As a former coach,
they're both blue bloods.
Michigan, Bama,
coin flip, which would wish to you
is a better job. Family,
life, weather,
intensity, competition, what's
the better job?
For me,
is that what we're saying? Or for Kaelin
or for a general. For you,
your general appeal, for you, what would you take?
Well, it's not close.
It would be Michigan.
All right.
You know, it just means more in SEC.
Like, they are for real.
Those fans are so unforgiving.
It is win now.
And now you're following the greatest of all time.
So how do you meet those standards?
And the fact that people are even talking about,
well, if he doesn't win this game against Oklahoma,
maybe it's time.
Well, are we not just pro, even if he does win it,
Are we just not prolonging that conversation for next season or a game or two later?
Like, all or nothing mentality, like, that is a very hard way to exist.
And so I just, I think that is the, if there's anybody that could fit it, it's Kalin,
he's such a special person.
He's one of the best coaches in the country.
I just think that job is so difficult.
and Michigan's been, you know, down a bit by their standards since the last couple years.
And I think the fan base still expectations kind of unrealistic like all true great fan bases are.
But it does seem like that could fit pretty well.
Yeah, same thing.
Chris Peterson, you look great.
I know you're happy.
You still do some stuff obviously with us at Fox at the University of Washington.
And it's just great to see a happy holidays to you and the fan.
I appreciate you, Colin.
You too, and this is the fun time of year because now football gets really good.
It does.
It's college with a little touch of NFL, the playoff format.
Good stuff.
Chris Peterson.
Yeah, the VAM Oklahoma games, the hard one for me is I probably take the better defense at home.
Oklahoma's had Alabama's number, but Kalin DeBore will have these halves.
Like the first half, I would take Alabama because I saw what they did.
George in the first half.
Kalin's game plans.
I watch them at Washington.
They are wicked.
I think it's a really close,
really close game.
I don't think Oklahoma can win a shootout.
So if it gets high scoring,
you take Bama.
Feels 2423 to me.
Jay Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Mike Colin's sneaky good game Sunday on Fox.
Chargers at the Cowboys.
It's kind of buried.
in the deck in the early games.
And it's interesting because it's a good clash
in that the Chargers defense
has been lights out. They've really shut down
in recent weeks the Eagles
as well as the Chiefs.
Here's the problem. The offense is sputtering.
Here's Jim Harbaugh talking about
what the offense has been like the last couple weeks.
Chiefs and the Eagles, I think they would
love to have our offensive production
in those two games. And those are really
really good teams.
Yeah. Do you think they're
Eagles would have rather had our offensive production or theirs.
Both Chiefs.
Ours are theirs.
And against two really good defenses, specifically playing winning football, as specific as you could be.
That is very specific.
If we're giving awards, Colin, quarterback speaker of the year at the podiums, Dak, coach speaker has to be.
Jim horrible. I mean, every week he's coming up with funny stuff. Little digs there.
Now, listen, the offense has been sputtering. Ladd McConkey's been a ghost. He's not doing anything.
Arronday Gadsden hasn't done much. I mean, Keenan Allen, the offense just isn't producing.
Can they keep up with Dallas on the road here?
Yeah, I mean, I think it's a much better defense, coaching edge, defensive edge.
And again, the games now matter a lot for the chargers. Now, now Dallas, you know, with a defensive coordinator getting called out by,
Jerry Jones. You'll probably get an inspired effort by Dallas. But when I get a quarterback
coach defense edge and Dax played well, I'd probably take the Chargers. Yeah, it's interesting.
So Jesse Minter, I believe he's going to be like the number one candidate for many teams.
Colin, if you watch that, the Chiefs were up 13.3 at half. Jesse Minter's defense held the Chiefs
to zero points in the second half in Arrowhead with the season on the line. This quarter scheme
that he's got cooking up, Jalen Hurts had his worst game of the season.
I mean, listen, I don't know what to tell you.
This defense, if they could contain Dallas,
I think you've got to consider Minter the favorite for either Tennessee
or Dallas or one of these jobs.
I mean, he's just been outstanding.
I was leaning Cowboys, but probably a pass for me.
Next up, let's go to Jackson Dart.
You seem to think that there's something there,
a kernel of a franchise quarterback.
Yeah.
You know, we'll see.
Interestingly, this year's hard knocks in season.
There was a fascinating clip that circulated about Dan Quinn,
as well as the commander's defensive coordinator,
encouraging their players to treat Dart like a running back.
They essentially were saying,
don't worry about the passing.
He's a running back.
Here's DART's reaction to hearing these coaches,
essentially, say, treat him like a running back.
No, absolutely not.
I mean, Kirby Smart said the exact same thing.
Every time that he played against me, so did Nick Sabin.
So did every coach that I played in college.
So this is nothing new.
You know, just try to, you know, go out there to play smart and be available for your team.
It just gets me excited.
I mean, just as a competitor, you know, want to go out there and compete.
And, you know, obviously, like, they're acknowledging respect, you know, in a way, too.
So, you know, I appreciate that.
Hmm.
A little defiant.
You detect that at all or no?
No, I mean, listen, I think it helped.
He played for a very smart offensive coach in Lane Kiffin, so I think he is ahead of the curve where
most rookies are. And he's been better than I thought. I thought he was an NFL quarterback,
but I didn't think he'd have a 94-passer rating. His last five games, he's played really,
really well. I like his movement. You know, the blue tent stuff is the league's fast.
Linebackers and safeties get on you really fast. And Justin Herbert had some of these early
year, Drake May, where you take shots you shouldn't take. But last five games, completion
10 to 1, TD to interception ratio.
You can't deny the numbers.
And this is a team without a number one back,
a number one dominant tight end or a number one receiver.
Interesting.
Looking at the last five games he played in.
So they lost to Washington, lost to the Patriots,
lost to the Bears, lost to the Niners.
Are you detecting a theme?
Lost to the Eagles.
So I know the numbers appear good,
but on a down-to-down basis,
they're not that good.
Dart and again, I know you like him, Colin.
Early in the season, I was like,
oh, this guy's got something.
I wonder if defenses have caught up to him
because I'm not seeing as much of a threat.
Now, there's no scataboo, there's no neighbors, to be fair.
Well, that's our two best players.
He doesn't have his two best guys.
Pretty much.
Does Dart remind you of like a cobra Kai from the movie Karate Kid?
He's got like the blonde hair, the kind of defying.
He's puffing the chest out.
He looks like, I know you laugh when I say this,
but he looks like a cool guy, you know?
He honestly, he reminds me of a more athletic Baker Mayfield.
I think he's a better runner than Baker.
Maybe not.
But he reminds me a little bit of Baker Mayfield.
A little chip on his shoulder.
He's a better runner than Baker is.
But he can be a little reckless sometimes with his body.
Baker, similarly, knocked out his shoulder, squaring up a safety after a pick.
There's a little Baker Mayfield here.
It reminds me of my kid as well.
He has all the answers.
It's just Jackson Dart looks like he knows everything.
Callan, we're going to be talking about this game in.
headlines very shortly.
Okay.
All right.
Let's go to the final story here.
And that is Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Actually, pretty good game.
And you know what?
This is going to be in headlines next segment as well.
I don't know what to make of the Lions and, you know, are they going to get back into
the playoff mix?
Well, Aidan Hutchison gave us a good sound bite.
He said the last time he faced Aaron Rogers, it was in his rookie year.
And you know what he did?
He picked off the Hall of Famer as a rook.
Here's Hutchison talking about matching up with Rogers.
I'd love if he threw me another one.
That'd be great.
But, no, he's a competitor, man.
He's been doing it at a high level for a long time,
so we all have a ton of respect for him.
You know, he's a focus this week for sure.
Did you have this in Blazance Five?
I forgot.
It was the last one I dropped.
I like Detroit, got up to seven, and I said I'll pass.
Yeah.
You're looking at that Steelers injury report off the short week?
Take a gander at that?
All right, we'll have an update for you shortly.
But I think this is a good game.
Is Detroit dead, though, in the NFC?
I don't know if they can get back in.
I mean, they just don't look like...
Too many good teams.
They don't look like the Rams or Seattle.
I'll tell you that.
They don't look like that.
Do they look like Chicago?
Can we get to that level?
Forget the Rams.
Yeah.
They look more like Chicago.
Flawed, but good.
Yeah.
Is that a good offensive?
coordinator job, by the way?
Detroit?
Yeah.
Very.
They should be able to get
whoever they want.
I mean, Goss, Gibbs, Amarama.
Redo line.
La Porta will be back next year.
Jameson Williams.
They've got all the pieces.
Yeah.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Herd Line News.
He's been on a heater.
Jay Max got his picks next in the Herd.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Hey, I'm Jared Adano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than that. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian.
And recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hippocrat,
I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions.
Sike! I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified.
to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant,
recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man.
If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone,
let it ring twice.
One ring is too scary.
Cream a chicken suit.
Hey, cream.
Cream a chicken suit.

How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that Ness was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How high can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents Soccer moms.
So I'm Leanne.
This is my best friend Janet.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip, just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Well, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar or something here?
Just a hit it.
What are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
I would buy it.
Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky.
I'm not an alcoholic.
You're lucky.
I'm not a killer.
I love this team,
and I'm really trying to be
a figure in their lives
that they can rely on.
Oh.
Oh.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game
is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too
Steve Nash will get that
thing, that man, hell get the flying,
he running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball, like,
after you go through a training camp with that,
Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio
app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts.
Next week is Christmas week.
Jay Mack and I,
Yuletide spirit.
But not today.
Not now.
It is week 16.
We call it tomorrow's headlines today and let's roll it.
J-MAC, tomorrow on Fox Packers at the Bears who you got.
Yeah, great game on Saturday.
I know you'll be really locked in for this rooting for your Bears.
The headline for Packers Bears on Fox will be Ben, if it's packaged,
Bears get more PTO, playoff, time off.
I'm rocking with you on this one.
I like Chicago to get a little revenge on the Packers.
Now, I do have to admit, there was a great soundbite from Jeff Halfley.
I think you talked about it, the Packers defensive coordinator.
Essentially, he's like, I prepared from February to August for a defense in Green Bay that would not have Michael Parsons because he was still on Dallas.
So I don't think there's a massive drop-off for the Packers.
The problem is the injuries are mounting, right?
I mean, we're seeing the safety. Williams, he's out. He's lead them in interceptions.
And then how do you get past pressure on Caleb Williams without Micah Parsons?
The Bears-O-Line's been great this year.
Yeah. They didn't have to blitz at all with Micah.
So ultimately, I think Caleb and the run game will be fine.
But for me, the big one is I think Dennis Allen learned his lesson in the earlier meeting.
You can't blitz Jordan Love.
You can't leave your DBs on an island against Christian Watson.
Now, the good news is Watson may not play.
It's looking like he's touch and go.
but they're also down. Zach Tom, the offensive lineman, I do believe 42% last time they blitzed
Love. That number's got to drop way down, Colin. Love is just going to kill them on the back end.
So I'll go Bears on a low-scoring affair, maybe a 1916 thriller.
Tomorrow's headlines today, Vikings and J.J. McCarthy against the Giants.
Two teams with nothing to play for, but this is going to be fun, because you know I'm a J.J. McCarthy guy.
You're a Jackson Dart guy. We're head-to-head the headline for the Vikings.
at the Giants will be,
we built this gritty.
Minnesota rocks and skulls over New York.
Colin, I got a fun number for you.
Brian Flores, great defensive coordinator.
They haven't been at full strength much of the season.
They're cooking right now.
He is against rookie quarterbacks,
7, 2, and 2 against a spread.
And how about this, straight up 10 and 1
in his career against rookie quarterbacks?
He's got intricate schemes.
The rookies never know where the blitz is coming from.
Van Grinkle,
awesome edge rusher.
You don't know where he's coming from.
And I think Darts really going to struggle here.
Also, I'll just say this about J.J. McCarthy.
I know we've kind of pushed it to the back burner because they're eliminated.
He has shown really well the last couple weeks now.
Go ahead, go ahead.
I mean, it is against Dallas and the commander's defense.
Also true.
Well, you know what?
It's not like the Giants already better.
They're 31st in the league and past defense.
So they're not stopping anybody.
And I do.
I know I sound like the boy who cried wolf.
Hey, Justin Jefferson.
He's due.
It's going to work.
I think this is the week that he catches fire in New York.
I like the Vikings here and somewhat convincingly.
Tomorrow's headlines today, Joe Burrow and the Bengals off a shutout,
angry at Miami and Quinn Ewers.
Yeah, Joe Burrow, very talkative.
I wonder what the media is going to ask him about after this one.
The headline for Bengals at Dolphins will be Quinn and out.
Bengals devoured dolphins animal style.
A little hamburger action for you there.
Colin, I like the Bengals.
This is my first bet of the week before they made the quarterback change.
It's now up to four and a half.
We don't know what Quinn Ewers is going to do.
He was a highly claimed high school kid.
He was good at Texas.
I think he got to the playoff twice.
Here's my thing.
This is a perfect setup for Ewers to do some damage.
The Bengals defense stinks.
We know this.
But I do believe Burrow.
He's not going to be able to keep up with Burrow.
Colin, the news just broke.
Mika Fitzpatrick.
will not play for the dolphins this week. He's injured. And the leading tackler on the dolphins,
Jordan Brooks, he's actually the number one tackler in the NFL. He's TBD. He's mispractice all week.
He's out there today. If they're down their two best defenders, Burrow and Chase are going to
catch fire in the warm weather. Remember, you don't show well last week. If you're Burrow,
you bounce back strong. I would not be surprised if Cincinnati hung a 40 Burger on Miami
short week. Give me the Bengals here. Tomorrow's headlines today. I know.
know where you're leaning here. Chiefs at the lowly Tennessee Titans.
Oh, I thought you're going to say that. Titans hosting the lowly chiefs,
but that's a little harsh. I don't want your guy Nick to feel too bad. The headline for
Chiefs at Titans will be, we are never, ever, ever going to play together. Patrick Mahomes
and Travis Kelsey is done. They're never going to play together again. Kelsey, we know,
is going to be bouncing to be a celebrity and a podcast or after the season.
Colin, this is a little bit sad. Gardner Minshu getting to start. Mahomes obviously just had surgery this week.
But I got to ask you, the Chief's offense stunk with Mahomes. What are they going to do with Gardner Minchu?
And the Chiefs just announced, Colin, moments ago that these players did not practice today.
Wright tackled Joanne Taylor, swing tackle Jalen Moore, Rishi Rice concussed, Tyquan Thornton concussed, two other defenders, and, oh, by the way, a third in Trent McDuffie.
They could be down six starters against the Titans.
This line was four and a half, three and a half.
It's a three.
I mean, Tennessee on the money line is going to be live.
And here's a fun number.
I know the Titans stink.
They're in the mix for the number one pick.
Colin, we just heard from the former Washington coach
talking about how you end the season.
Did you know in the last six games the Titans are four one and one against the spread?
And that's facing five playoff teams.
So they're trying hard still.
I just wonder what the mindset is from the Chiefs.
Hey, we're in the AFC championship every year.
Now we've got to play the Titans for meaning nothing.
Listen, if you're into old lines, Tennessee by double digits, is that in play here?
I don't know.
I mean, this literally could be one of the bigger surprises of the season, but I like Tennessee to win outright.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
I like the Lions here.
It was the last Blazing Five pick.
I did not pick.
What say you?
Yeah, well, we went with a six-pack this week because I'm kind of feeling myself, you know,
This is December getting excited.
Here we go.
The headline for Steelers at the Lions will be.
He who smelt it, dealt it.
Lions turned steel curtain into tin foil.
I like Detroit here.
Laying a touchdown, Colin.
Again, it is a short week for Pittsburgh.
You've got an old quarterback going into a dome to face Aidan Hutchison.
Okay, we know the Steelers' offensive lines been mediocre.
Aidan Hutchison is an animal coming off the edge.
And I do wonder that Detroit offense,
Colin. We saw them light the Rams up
last week. 24 points in the first half.
What are they going to do to a Steelers defense? By the way,
Herbig, trending toward not
playing. T.J. Watt, not going to play.
I don't see how the Lions can't
pick their number here in one of the highest
totals on the board. Give me the Lions here.
Finally,
tomorrow's headlines today. I think
the Patriots win close against
the Ravens. Ravens passing
game and passing defense are
broke. What do you make of it?
You know, I saw your pick here. I was like,
Let me just crowbar in another one.
I'm feeling myself the headline for Ravens Patriots will be.
Ravens glare.
Lamar bombs in air.
Pat stars get spangled.
Colin, I'm worried about your Patriots.
Okay?
That's second half against Buffalo.
How can you not ignore that?
They could not stop Josh Allen a running quarterback.
Josh Allen 11 carries last week.
Enter Lamar Jackson, who has not run well this season.
No.
But this sets up for a spot.
Hey, carry us the way Josh did.
You're a two-time MVP.
And oh, by the way, the Patriots, I looked at their schemes.
A lot of too high safety, a lot of zone.
Invites running games.
Derek Henry and Lamar Jackson should go for a buck 50 to 200 year.
I'm going to go with the Ravens now.
I'm probably an idiot feeling like, okay, the Ravens, you know, Colin, this is still
that has the nucleus of a good team.
I still believe they get in the playoffs.
They're dangerous.
We don't think Pittsburgh is.
I do.
I don't know if you think the Ravens are dangerous.
But Lamar Jackson?
I respect them, but the Cincinnati game, Cincinnati had no juice, was not ready to play.
I don't make a take a lot out of it.
And also, New England won like 10 games in a row.
They are really well coached, really well quarterback.
Over the last five games, Lamar is completing 55% of his throws.
Drake May 70.
It just feels like to me, New England will be able to play a little keepaway, move the chains, underneath stuff.
I think it's low scoring.
I think it's good.
I just didn't like the number.
I thought three was too many to give a great coaching staff and a productive offense.
By the way, the dead last in Red Zone defense.
They are.
They're giving up touchdowns on 75% of Red Zone trips.
So I know, so this, everything lines up for Lamar here.
And by the way, you got to admit, you would love to see Week 18, 49ers versus Seahawks for the number one seed and Steelers Ravens for a playoff spot.
That would be great.
that would be great.
Nice job.
College football playoff.
And I think what's interesting is if Kalin Nabor loses as Alabama's coach,
there's a lot of belief that he will go to Michigan.
I think Michigan, Alabama historically is the better job,
but I think there's a little bit more.
Michigan is a blue blood, a northern, huge endowment,
money never a shortage, great school, great history.
I think the Big Ten's got more money right now.
now than the SEC does with its top schools.
I would take the Michigan job.
Michigan's athletic departments had some real missteps.
So I think Ohio State wins the natty.
I think Julian San will handle it.
I don't think George is as good as previous years.
A lot of those wins.
And I think Oregon, Texas Tech in the semifinals is fascinating.
Let me ask you on DeBore.
Do you think he's taking that job?
Like soon or would he wait for the AD to get booted?
Because there's been so many scandals.
Apparently the hockey team had a scandal.
We know the basketball stuff with Joanne Howard.
Like the whole athletic department's had a lot of issues.
I wonder if DeBor says, let me just wait for you guys to find your AD.
Then I'll come on board.
Yeah, I mean, you gave me those, that quarterback for Michigan and those receivers.
And I'm an offensive coach.
I'd want to get my hands on that.
And by the way, Sharon Moore and Harbaugh, he's got some players still in that program,
they recruited at a very high level.
And so, I mean, listen, the Big Ten, you got to face Oregon now and USC now and Washington now.
And Indiana's a power.
So both jobs, you have brutal schedules.
I think if I was Kalin-Dabor and my history was northern schools, I would probably take the Michigan job.
that's that's probably what I would do
so
can't wait
have a great weekend
