This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast. Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan,
so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away,
such as the biology of Tontons and Wampas on the Ice Planet Hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule.

Now let's get this party started.
Fox Sports Radio.
NFL coach with the Jets and Browns.
We have them at Fox Sports and we love him.
Eric Mangini, it is a Thursday stopping by today.
So, you know, J-Max's all fired up.
He goes, ask him, how's Zach Wilson going to do against the cowboy defense?
And I'm like, I'm not sure anybody's going to be great against the cowboy defense.
If you had Zach, now they do have the makings of a really interesting run game
because Breece Halls, he dynamite and Dalvin Cooks out of his prime maybe, but he's good.
what would you do
I mean what would be the message to the team
Aaron's gone
what's your message to this
locker room so you don't lose it
well I would imagine Robert Salah's
message at halftime is a message that he
he's had this week and that was
we've got a really good team
and although we lost Aaron Rogers the season
doesn't end we've got
outstanding defense we've got
good running backs we've got talented players
across the board this thing's
not over and I thought they did an unbelievable
job of getting the guys refocus coming out of halftime and figuring out a way to win the game.
And them doing that should be enough proof to the rest of the team of what is possible.
And for Zach, this is everybody loves a second act.
This is his opportunity to have his second act.
He's had an offseason with a veteran quarterback in a system that he's had a chance to sit back and learn and see the nuances of.
he should be well positioned to demonstrate that he can lead the team.
Maybe he's not going to win a bunch of games,
but he's got to make sure that he's not the reason that they're losing a bunch of games like he has in the past.
Okay, 40-year-old quarterbacks take out Brady.
Drew Brees couldn't stay healthy.
Warren Moon no longer moved like he did formally.
It's just the reality of it.
Off a tough Achilles surgery.
Aaron turns 40 here in a couple months, a few months.
what do you think he's going to look like post-surgery if the rehab goes, you know, well?
I don't know how he comes back.
I don't know.
I know what he said, and I'm sure that's what he feels right now,
and nobody wants their last game and their legacy to end the way that it could potentially end here for Aaron Rogers.
But he was considering retiring the previous season.
He had to be talked back into coming back to play.
And I get the new environment and all those things.
things, but this is a significant amount of rehab.
This is a long process.
He's 40 years old.
He's got the rest of his life to think about.
And I don't know if at the end of the day it's going to be worth for him to come back
and try to prove something when really, when you look at the course of his career,
he's got nothing that he needs to truly prove.
Yeah, Super Bowl, four MVP's above 500 playoff record, a ring, and a lot of money.
So I talked to somebody a couple days ago
and somebody that sits and watches 22 film
and somebody that's been in this league.
And they said, Colin, I know you defend Russell Wilson.
Don't love what I see.
Missing stuff.
Greg Kossel was on an hour ago.
And he just said, missing stuff.
There's stuff there.
He's not seeing it.
Here's the thing.
Eric, starting next year, that cap hit is 35, 53,
55, 58.
That's hard to get out of.
You have to hit on every draft pick.
I don't know.
I mean, I don't know.
I just, I look at that thing.
People are terrified for what the Jets face.
Zach Wilson's cheap.
We can move on next year.
Great defense.
Great.
Denver's very dependent on Russell and Peyton's brain.
Do you look at that and think to yourself,
oh, this thing can go sideways fast?
Yeah, they weren't able to upgrade the team very much
in the offseason. They really, they essentially have the core that they had the previous season.
And it's got to work with Russell. It's got to work at least in the short term. And it may not be
the Russell Wilson that we know in Seattle. It just has got to be better than what we saw last
year. And I thought there was some improvement in this first showing. And with Sean, he's going to get
Russell's greatest hits. He's going to give him the things that he does well. And in time,
hopefully Russell will be able to take the best things from Sean's system and be very productive in it.
There's this isn't as much as we talked about the coaching last season.
This isn't a team that's been markedly improved.
So the only way that they're going to get better is if the guys that they have there are able to
make some significant jumps.
And there should be some jumps here in the system for Russell.
I'd say in the next three or four weeks as he gets used to being in Pate's.
system, Sean Peyton's system.
Yeah. So, you know, I know you have some defensive background here.
You're not going to like this.
But 10 of the 11 highest rated O lines after week one are offensive head coaches.
The top six are offensive head coaches.
Most of the bottom are defense.
Tomlin and McDermott, six years, can't figure the O line out.
Andy Reid did it in an offseason.
And I watched Jordan Love.
He looks so comfortable.
And I watched Justin Fields in 26 starts, and he looks frenetic.
One's got the offensive coach who keeps building the offense.
And the other has the defensive guy.
And I'm not picking on you guys.
But this weekend, when I'm watching how comfortable Jordan Love is and Brock Purdy is,
and how Josh Allen's running for his life and Justin Fields, there is something about offensive line play.
Jordan Love looks so comfortable.
Like, I don't know.
I mean, just I feel like, let's be honest, it's a different language on offense.
And the offensive coach sometimes speaks it, right?
Well, in my first season at the New York Jets, we drafted DeBrickers-Oth Ferguson and Nick Mangold,
who are both now in the New York Jets Hall of Fame or Ring of Fame.
And then we drafted Alex Mack in Cleveland, and he turned out to be a pretty good player.
Yeah, look, is it a different language?
There is a different language to it.
But as a defensive coach, you get to see what works.
You get to see the skill set that really gives you a problem defensively,
and you should be able to translate that into evaluation of draft picks.
And I would say Bill Belichick's had some outstanding offensive lines
and offensive line men over the course of his time
and has drafted some really good ones as well,
and he's about as defensive-minded as you can get.
So I know that's the narrative.
And each coach tends to have a strength and weakness within the draft.
But I don't think it's impossible for defensive coaches to figure it out.
By the way, I watched New England.
I actually thought they outplayed Philadelphia in the second half.
I thought Jalen Hurts struggled, and I'll tell you, my guy over here doesn't like McEnroe Jones.
I think Mack Jones is, for what he can do, is a very effective NFL player.
I like, I don't love him.
but when you give him a little run game,
I thought in the second half of the game,
end of the first half,
start of the second, he was fine.
He didn't have a number one receiver.
They don't have a lot of juice.
What did you take away from that game?
Colin, this is an offensive line
that had to start two rookie guards,
a fourth round and a fifth round draft pick.
None of those guys had played with each other
against the team that had the most sacks,
the previous season,
and outside of getting down 16 to nothing,
And look, the pick six, it was a high throw, but the ball fell perfectly into the DB's hands.
After that point, New England outscored him 20 to 9.
They outscored him 20 to 9, and I thought Mack Jones did a really good job, putting them in a
position where they had a chance to come back and win that game.
The two-point conversion that he runs in, it gets called back for holding, but now it's only a
field goal.
And then he throws the out, the rookie receiver can't drag his back foot in, but if they're
that hits, it's first and goal from the 9 with 29 seconds left. You've got to give New England
a lot of credit. Now, they didn't have a running game either. They only averaged 3.5 yards
of carry. That's going to get better, too. I've been as critical of Mack Jones as anybody
because of his arrogance, but I thought he showed a ton of progress and some real poise when it
counted and outplayed, they outplayed the Eagles for a significant amount of that game after getting
in a deep hole. Yeah, by the way, I'm glad you put that up. Mac Jones got that two-point
conversion called back. I know because I had the Patriots plus four and it burned me and I was sitting
there thinking, I was like, I thought they were going to win the game. I was going crazy. I did too.
Yep. Okay. So the Giants get beat 40-0 and my theory has always been. If you get humiliated on
national TV and I think you have a good coach and a capable quarterback, you're going to play
with your hair on fire the next week. I just like you. So,
the Giants now go on the road with Arizona, they're going to empty the bag.
I mean, you can't go 0-2 in this league.
I think the Giants, you tell me, did you ever have a game?
Nothing worked.
I mean, the game plan, nothing worked.
And then if you did, explain that.
And how did you play the next week?
Well, when we opened up with Buffalo after we had let go of Lawyer Malloy.
Yeah.
And Drew Bledsoe was in Buffalo as well.
And they beat us 30-0.
And at that point, the narrative was that we were done, the players were angry at Bill.
I mean, it was a big deal.
And we went on and won the Super Bowl.
It was just one of those games where, similar to the Giants situation, once the ball started rolling on hill, we couldn't stop the momentum.
And everything that we did was wrong.
And everything that they did was right.
And when you watch that Giants game, it didn't matter where the ball fell.
it was always falling where the Cowboys were.
It didn't matter what break there was.
It was always breaking into the Cowboys.
And sometimes you have weeks like that.
Now, the nice thing is,
this isn't college football
where people are going to rate how you lost
or how you won.
All the losses count exactly the same.
And, yeah, they need to go to Arizona
and play significantly better,
and they should.
If they do lose this game,
then it's not just about being O and 2,
It's who you're owe and two against, which is really problematic.

I like the New York Giants minus five and a half at Arizona.
Arizona lost to a bad team in the commanders.
I don't think it's a great locker room.
I think the rookie head coach is limited.
The Giants got embarrassed by the Cowboys,
so most people will flee the Giants.
Historically, good coaches and capable quarterbacks

Finally, I thought the most shocking performance, a Rams team that literally every draft pick is on the roster.
either the greatest draft, they had like 12, 13, 14 draftics. They all made the roster.
So it's either the greatest draft of all time or their talent deficient on defense.
And they completely shut Seattle down with a makeshift offensive line where a left tackle played right guard, a rookie left center.
The backup center started run game.
Stafford had protection.
I watched that game.
If you'd have told me just pick one team that's going to win Sunday, I'd have said, oh, Rams are in big trouble.
I couldn't believe what I saw.
I mean, your takeaway on the youngest defense in the league shutting down Seattle.
Colin, I was like you.
I was shocked, and I know the philosophy of that organization has been,
we don't care about draft picks,
but maybe they should.
They actually do a really good job when they draft players.
They've done an excellent job.
Go collect a bunch of draft picks.
And this is a, it can be a really fun time to coach
when you've got a bunch of young players, when you've got a bunch of hungry players,
when you've got a bunch of guys that are, everybody looks at you and immediately assumes a victory,
those can be some of the most fun coaching experiences because the guys all buy in.
They're all trying to do it exactly the way you're asking them to.
There's not a lot of bad habits that you have to break from other organizations.
And you can be in a position to surprise a ton of people because it's also an element of being young and dumb.
You don't know what you don't know.
Right.
You're not intimidated by things because you don't know you're supposed to be intimidated by things.
You don't have all that baggage that some of the other teams have.
And there's zero expectations for this team so they can go play loose.
And I was as surprised as you were that that game turned out the way it.
I never, ever saw it going that way.
Yeah, Stafford looked totally comfortable.
They had a rookie receiver who had like 10 catches.
Two, two at, well, everybody thought he was a bust.
He had 120 yards.
I just sat there and I was like,
But you know what, again, McVeigh, give McVe three weeks to dream up an offensive game plan.
They took some New England coaches.
They shifted their run style.
It was a really impressive, impressive performance.
Eric Mangini, Fox Sports.
As always, coach, great seeing you.
Great seeing you too, Cal.
Yeah.
So the question is, Jay Mack, is that what the Rams are?
Or was it an offensive coach opening game?
And Seattle just got flat-footed on what they did offensively and didn't really
in game couldn't adjust.
There's great point on McVeigh. So you've called him a genius, I think, and we've taken the genius car.
I took the genius card away, and then I discarded it, and then I gave it back to him.
The Super Bowl, you're right, correct. So he schemed up Tutu out while, you mentioned him.
I saw this video online where instead of Tutu just lining up and going, he was coming in motion
slowly to get a start, and then boom, he would go into like a bunch formation, and the
quarterback just couldn't keep up with him, and he was just loose in the secondary.
Listen, some of these offensive coaches, man, to watch what they're doing with the pre-snap motion and getting guys in different spots, you're just jealous as a fan of a team with the defensive coach.
You're just not seeing that.
Yeah.
J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
All right, this is kind of spicy.
I like this.
So the Tennessee Titans lost 1615 to the Saints.
They did cover, but not thanks to Ryan Tannenhill, who was awful.
Three interceptions, no touchdowns.
First for him since his rookie season that he was that bad.
Now, Mike Vrable made it sound like we could have a quarterback controversy on the horizon.
Take a listen.
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't.
I wish that I knew.
I wish that I could tell you we have to be better.
Ryan has to be better.
We have to hit guys that are open, and we can't force the ball into double coverage.
And so we have to give them cleaner pockets.
It's like we gave them in the second half earlier.
There were some of that.
I think, again, we can point to, when a play goes bad,
we can point to a lot of different things.
But, you know, we have to be better.
We can't turn the football over.
By the way, Tanna Hill and Kirk Cousins.
Oh, I think both those coaches are looking for the next dude.
But they're not in the same class.
Tanna Hill is like a KG veteran.
It was like a wide receiver in college.
Yeah, but Cousins throws a cleaner easier.
Couss is way better.
The interesting thing, did you hear that pregnant pause from the coach when he was like,
we got to hit open receivers?
I mean, we're talking about like a 35-year-old veteran quarterback.
No, I mean, at this point, if you can't not hit open receivers.
Those are layups for good quarterback.
So the backup is Malik Willis.
Last year, looked not ready.
So Will Levis is third?
Will Levis is third string.
I would keep an eye on this Chargers Titans game this weekend.
I don't think Vrable is going to have much of an appetite if Tannahills is doing the same
thing again. How about this? Brable's job is rock solid. How about we just go with one of the young
guys. We see if these dudes can play. Well, I think I said it Monday. This is one of the biggest
coaching mismatches of the weekend. Vrable versus Brandon Staley. This is why I'm staying away. I was
a meet. I was on the Chargers. Yes. I was on the Chargers. Verbal's one of my top five
coaches in the league. I think he's great. He's great. I just, I bet the Chargers already, but how does
Tennessee keep up with the charges? Because they will move the football, even if Eckler doesn't play.
Oh, no, they're going to move the football.
Although you get 28 to 30 with the Chargers.
That's just what you get.
And by the way, their O-line, it's good.
Yeah.
That O-line is good.
And I'll remind people, Derek Carr shredded this Titans defense last week.
He took some major hits.
But he had, like, over 300 yards passing.
They just couldn't convert in the Red Zone.
Like, Justin Herbert?
Like, I don't know how the Chargers don't win this.
But Mike Vrabble's giving me pause, like, oh, maybe I need to buy out of it.
Next up.
In that same AFC South, Colton Texans.
Sunday 1 p.m. Eastern.
What do you make of this thing?
What do you make of this thing?
I got to stay positive here.
Matchup of two top five picks in this past year's draft.
I'm watching this.
You are?
I want to see these quarterbacks play.
So you're the one.
I look.
I want to, I'm interested in these guys.
Anthony Richardson is interested.
CJ Stroud, I feel like I kind of know what he is.
Anthony Richardson, he's interesting.
The last time, two 21-year-old starting quarterback
met was James Winston versus Marietta in 2015. I remember, yes, I remember the game. Yes, I remember that.
This feels like you can make a case for both sides. Texans defense, a tiny lean. That's
probably where I go. But I don't think Stuyken. We like Stuyken. I think Stuyken's brilliant.
And we like Richardson. I think he's fun to watch. A little out of control. He made one really bad
throw, but Anthony Richardson is a, it's really an interest. And you know with Stuyken, if he's got it,
then he'll get it out of him by the end of this year. They got a running back issue with
I want to watch them at Thanksgiving. Give Indy about eight weeks. Well, what, not on Thanksgiving
day. No, I mean, but Thanksgiving after that, Stuyken is the ability to pull stuff out of kids.
I think they're going to be a, I wouldn't be surprised last six, seven weeks in the, the culture of
spoiler. They knock off teams. I'm not telling you, there's some optimism. Good old line, dynamic.
defense, a little pass rush, a little better than people think.
They were surprisingly competent defensive.
Listen, they led the Jags with like six minutes left.
No, dude, they should have won the game.
They should have definitely.
Or at least covered.
You're still a little salty about that.
Oh, I'm bitter.
Salty, I'm way past salty.
Final story is the Seahawks.
And that 30 to 13 beat down against the Rams in week one.
They've now traveled to Detroit.
Things could get worse for Gino Smith in Seattle.
Colin, the team has placed.
starting right tackle, Abraham Lucas on IR. Yeah, he's out. With a knee injury. And they're likely to
be without starting left tackle Charles Cross due to a toe injury. Now, they signed Jason Peters,
who I think is older than me maybe. So the key is Charles Cross is the better of the two and he'll be
back. But Detroit's got an edge rush. So the scary, the real scary thing. In the first half,
they moved the ball. They had, I think, 17, 13, whatever, they had 13 points in the first half.
10 first downs, they were moving the ball well. Those two tackles go out in the second half.
They could not do anything offensively.
Remember, they had like 12 yards in the second half.
And it's like, whoa, how bad is this?
Now you're facing Aiden Hutchison coming off the edge.
On the road.
So I know a lot of people want to take Seattle.
I don't.
This is one of the stayaway games.
You don't think Detroit?
I just, I think Detroit's going to win.
But I, you come off, you beat.

And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because.
of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
Kansas City. You start feeling yourself.
Probably, yeah.
Yeah. You said, oh, we beat Mahomes. Everybody in Detroit's got this team.
We already got a first round by in the playoffs.
Be very careful. Pete's won a lot of these games where he travels.
Pete has a way of you. Pete's teams have been good in his career on the road,
winning like games you don't think they should win.
So they had a good win over Detroit on the road last year.
Remember that I think 48 or 3835, some crazy score.
But, you know, rumor has it. Dan Campbell sent some glow.
to Cadarius Tony to thank him for the season opening.
No way.
I just made that up.
That's a joke.
You're laughing a lot during the Wednesday.
Today's Wednesday or Thursday?
Thursday.
I'm done.
I don't even know what today is.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Heard Lye News.
I will be honest, bro.
Monday and Friday,
once you have kids, you have kids.
I have no idea Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
My life's going, I have no idea.
I wake up, grab my coffee, I have no idea.
Monday, I'm prepared for a big show.
Friday, make my picks, hopefully hit one this week.
Middle of the week, I'm good with you screwing up.
You got a lot of kids.
Not like I've got the Brady bunch at my house or anything.
And you have a very active life.
And your wife calls you out and your stuff.
So you've got to be, you got to deliver.
She doesn't suffer.
How did you know that?
Because I know.
She doesn't take a lot of your nonsense.
I went out for a drink with you and I left it like,
8 o'clock. What did she say? She said nothing.
Be sure to catch live
editions of the herd weekdays in noon
Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific.
Hey, it's Ben. Host of the 5th Hour
with Ben Mallor. It would mean a lot to have you
join us on our weekly auditory journey.
You're asking what in God's name
is the 5th hour? I'll tell you, it's a
spinoff of the Ben Mallor show, a cult
hit overnights on FSR.
Why should you listen? Picture, if
you will, a world when we chat with captains
of industry, in media, sports and more
every week, explore some amazing
facts about human nature and more.
Listen to the fifth hour with Ben Mather
on the Iheart radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever
you get your podcast.
All right, J-Mack, Jets,
potentially looking
for a quarterback. Let's play the game
called Who's the Captain
Now? See if there, you give
me the options on the market
for the Jets. Now, I think you stay
with Zach Wilson, but there's two or three guys
I would absolutely make a phone call for.
You got Zach Wilson and Nathaniel Hockey. You're good.
All right. Would Carson Wentz be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
Turbulence ahead. Three different teams last three years.
Joe Douglas, by the way, was in Philadelphia.
So he was the VP of Player of Personnel.
So he probably knows the story behind the story, which wasn't good.
He lost the room.
So I would say turbulence ahead.
That's good intel.
Would Matt Ryan be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
Turbulance ahead. He wasn't very good at the end of last year.
That's why he's in the broadcast booth.
He does know Nathaniel Hackett's system.
Played under, you know,
Shanahan kind of have a sense of the system,
but he's a broadcaster now and it's time.
Okay, here we go.
Good nickname guy.
Would Nick Foles be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
We've got some turbulence.
His last 14 games, he's 3 and 11.
He had a magical run.
Also, Joe Douglas was there for the magical run in Philadelphia.
And everybody loved Nick Foles.
But, like, some people are just,
There's been a lot of quarterbacks who have had one great run briefly.
He's one of them.
He's only 34.
I don't know.
I don't mind that.
Would Colt McCoy be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
Ready for takeoff, baby.
Ready for takeoff.
First of all, 13 years in the league.
He played in the preseason and was going to be the number one starter for them.
And then they made a weird move and got rid of him.
And it should be noted, last two seasons.
He's the opposite of Zach Wilson.
He doesn't have a big arm.
He doesn't move any more particularly.
pretty well. You know what his completion percentage is the last two years? 71%.
Dad was a coach, runs the play, gets rid of it quick, doesn't have a big arm like Zach,
but to me, he's the guy I would call. He's the one guy. Wow. Okay. Glad you're not the GM.
Would Philip Rivers be a good fit to pilot the Jets? No, bro. He's 41. He couldn't move in his prime.
He's just, this offensive line with his lack of mobility would be a huge issue.
Would James Winston be a good fit?
No, because this offensive line was his propensity to throw picks.
Plus, he had an ACL tear a couple years ago, so he's not the athlete.
I mean, he's not quite as mobile as he used to be, and he's one of those guys.
He needs time or it gets ugly fast.
All right.
How about Marcus Mariotta?
Would he be a good fit with the gym?
I like him, but he's, again, he tends to, needs protection, gets hurt.
a lot. Also, the Jets would have to trade for him because he's a current backup, I think, for the
Eagles. We're not trading. You're not, you're not, you're not, you're going to trade for Marcus
Mario. What about Ryan Tannihil? Would he be a good trade? I don't know if you could afford him,
but I will say this. With that offensive line, Ryan's big and moves well. So he works with your
offensive line. He's won a couple division titles in the last four years. So again, I think he's
limited. But with this offensive line, you cannot have a statute. That's why Zach Wilson's okay. He can
move and avoid pressure. Canneill can move. Let's be fair. Derek Henry won those division
titles, not Ryan Tanyo. How about Mitchell Trabisky? Would he be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
No. He's, for a guy without a big arm, you know, he doesn't like try to jam it into windows.
He's got like 53 turnovers in his last 64 games. He tends to be a little guys like him good in
the room, but he tends to be a guy that makes too many mistakes. All right. Now, this one's
interesting. Jacoby Brissette,
good fit to pilot the Jets.
Why is it interesting?
He's 18 and
30. I mean,
I think he's a really good backup.
Bad teams. Well, I think he's a good,
solid backup. I mean, I
was a little more... He's a backup in Washington right now.
I think it's Washington, yeah.
Yeah. By the way, I like
Washington this week. In Denver?
Not blazing five.
Sam Howell on the road?
Holy cow.
Um, Gartner Minshu, would he be a good fit to pilot the Jets?
Again, his last 11 starts, he's 1 in 10.
Yeah, I just don't think, I don't, I think he's a really good story.
You know what I mean? He's a fun story.
Root for him in New York. They loved him in Philly.
Yeah, let's get him. No.
Okay.
What about your boy? Andy Dalton, would he be a good fit to...
Absolutely. He's the second.
Well, first of all, started 14 games with the Saints last year with a defensive
coach, and I looked this numbers up, 66% completion percentage, 18 TDs, 9 picks, and a 95
passer rating with a defensive coach and a rookie receiver. Andy Dalton and Colt McCoy, again,
they're accurate, there's no hero ball, they've been in a, they've seen every defense.
I'm not saying they're great, but Andy Dalton, I think, and Colt McCoy worked to me.
And finally, would Sam Darnold be a good?
fit to pilot the jazz. The Niners, because
Purdy had an elbow
surgery, they're not, you're not
letting go. But I do think
if this team need somebody
that can take a snap, spot an open guy,
and hitting a nine-yard pass
on third and six, who's seen
pressure packages before, not
going to unravel. Zach Wilson sometimes,
he sees pressure and just runs
backwards. It's like, just,
the Jets are going to be a field position team.
Can Colt McCoy
keep us within the 20s.
Don't go wild.
No, like Marcus Marriota is somebody I thought about.
If Marioita didn't get hurt, that's an interesting one.
He was awful last year.
Okay, so this is interesting.
You and I love this team building stuff.
Mentally, if you're the Jets and you instantly sign somebody in the next 24, 48 hours.
What does that say to Zach?
Yeah.
But the opposite is true.
What if Zach is, you know, spraying the ball all over the place?
lose by 20.
I think I would.
Then you signed somebody then and Zach is fried.
So I don't know what the middle ground is.
I think you said something.
It was either yesterday or the day before.
I'm just going to,
I'm going to chalk up the Dallas game home open or Cowboys L.
I don't care what I see.
It's that New England game.
Has he against Belichick?
Has he progressed?
Because they have a better run game than last year.
I think their defense is better.
Zach Wilson has more experience.
I think the New England game.
They play New England, Kansas City, I believe, back to back.
Thank goodness.
It's in New York.
But last year was the game.
In New York, again, I'm not asking for him to carry the team.
But if he can, is that game you said at home?
In New York, yeah.
Okay.
So in New York, Belichick, is that week three?
Week three.
Okay.
They lose that game 24, 23, and Zach doesn't lose it for you.
I stay with Zach.
I'll remind you.
I know.
Last year, he literally lost both games for the Jets against the Patriots.
I know.
One of them was, I don't know that I've been, I was that angry in 2022 at anything,
but he was, that was the game, he had three interceptions.
Remember, he's just lobbing crap over the middle.
And then the other one was when they only scored three points,
he was nine of 22 for 77 yards.
And after the game was like defensive about it,
the Patriots had the punt return touchdown with like two seconds left.
Let's get through Dallas first.
I think they got a better chance against Dallas than they do against Belichick.
Belichick messes with the heads of those young guys.
You think they can beat Dallas?
Wasn't it Belichick where Sam Darnal was seeing ghosts?
Or was that a difference?
Yes, that was.
That's what he does to these young guys, man.
Oh, I know.
Believe me.
I don't.
I'm not worried about Dan Quinn.
I'm not worried about Dan Quinn and Micah Parsons.
Michael Parsons, yes, Dan Quinn.
Eh.
Eh.
He's probably one of the better coordinators in football.
Dan Quinn right now.
You got a stacked unit.
You could coach that defense to greatness.
No, they don't.
Stefan Gilmore, New England let him go.
Mike is great.
It's one of the best quarterback pickups in the league.
Old.
corners. Trayvon Diggs buys into every, I mean, he gets burned over the top. I like at every level,
they've got playmakers, dude. They got a really good defense. It's a team that won 12 games two
years in a row. Yeah, well, you know, you know, I'm not disputing that. I like what you do that.
You're more concerned about New England at home than Dallas on the road and Micah Parsons with your
offensive tackle issue. Yeah, that could be a four-sack game. This could be a four-sack Michael
Parsons game. That's in play.
If that's a prop,
consider it.
Give it out for you.
Zach does not deal with pressure well.
He's fast. He can run it.
See you tomorrow.
See you tomorrow.
Another podcast from some
SNL late night comedy guy,
not quite. Unhumor me with
Robert Smygel and friends. Me and
hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal,
but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman.
Human documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
