This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.

Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far far away, such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot,
or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule of the world.

So I said this earlier.
Yeah.
That I don't want to get into who's better LeBron Michael.
But Michael's more fascinating because he was private.
He didn't grow up with social media.
He's always, even as an owner, he hid.
Whereas LeBron, I know his politics, I know his school.
I know his game.
I know his family.
That there is a mystery around Jordan.
And as we keep peeling the layers, it is kind of interesting.
I thought the movie was fascinating.
So I haven't seen the movie.
You know, I don't get invited
to those types of premieres like you do, Colin.
You know what I mean?
I just knows of the grindstone,
just doing my work,
hoping if people watch the show,
you're out here,
you know, hobnobbing with celebrities,
I understand.
But one of the reasons Jordan is so fascinating
is because we don't even acknowledge
the entirety of his actual on-court career,
much less off-the-court stuff.
So here's the thing.
I would just like, and I know you say you don't want to get into the Who's Better Jordan or LeBron,
and that's fine, we don't have to.
I would just like that when we tell Michael Jordan as an NBA player story,
that we all agree that his entire career is the story.
So I was recently on a podcast with a friend of yours, Ethan Strauss, and this came up,
and I just said, hey, are we allowed to talk about,
All 15 years Michael Jordan played.
Because if I were to tell you, Colin,
Jordan played five years of his career without Scotty Pippen.
I think everybody knows he never won a playoff series those years.
But of those five years of his career,
a third of his career without Pippin,
how many years did Jordan's teams finish above 500?
The answer to that question is zero.
Yet, Nick, you're going to count the wizard years?
Yeah, I'm going to count the whole career.
When people say, oh, Jordan had the whole league on lock, no one won rings.
In years, Michael Jordan played games.
The following guys won rings, and I'll leave some out.
But Magic Johnson, Kreme Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Joe Dumer,
Akimelajuan, Clyde Drexler, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant.
They all, David Robinson, too.
So when people say no-one-one rings, what they're really saying is the six years Michael won, no-one-itology, and we all already knew that.
And it means Carmelone, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing never won rings.
And so I just think part, and this, by the way, this movie that I'm sure was wonderful, and I'm sure who ever invited to is a wonderful person.
I am excited to see it.
This movie goes along with it.
You even alluded to it.
I haven't seen the movie, but they evidently in the movie talk about the shot Jordan hit as a freshman at
North Carolina. What does anyone in the world know about the rest of his collegiate career?
It never happened. Now, he hit the one shot and magically three years later he's in the NBA.
It's just, we seem to have just decided that Jordan's career is only the highlights and not the
whole story. And I personally, as a guy who think LeBron and Kareem have had better basketball
lives, feel like we should tell the whole story. That's all.
No, I think that's very fair. You know, he didn't win without Pip and now.
never had a winning season without Pippin.
And also, when James Worthy, one of the great forwards ever left Carolina,
he didn't win at college level.
He didn't win at the college level.
It's just facts.
I mean, greatest coach ever in college, greatest coach ever in the pros.
Meanwhile, he got LeBron Dragon David Blatt and Frank Vogel to NBA finals and a title.
I mean, I don't know.
I mean, tomato, I suppose.
Mario Chalmers says
Players do not fear
LeBron.
You're really going to rile me up here.
Okay.
So here's the thing, Colin.
So I've heard this.
We always hear it.
Oh, they were scared of Kobe.
And oh, they were obviously scared of Michael.
No one was scared of LeBron.
You know how I choose to judge people, Colin?
Through their actions.
So here's the question I would ask.
If no one was afraid of LeBron
and everyone agreed during the 2010s when LeBron went to eight consecutive NBA finals
that the West was the superior conference
in an era of unprecedented player mobility.
Why did no one but Mello come east?
Why did no one but Carmelo Anthony, if no one was afraid of LeBron,
and the West was obviously harder,
why was all of the player movement west to west?
or east to west.
Because the moment LeBron left the east, you know what I saw happen?
Kauai went east, then Kevin Durant went east, then James Harden went east.
I saw all that.
But while LeBron was there, you know what I saw happen?
I saw Chris Paul changed teams a bunch of times.
He stayed west.
I saw Paul George leave the conference.
I saw Dwight Howard leave the conference.
So if it was, if no one was afraid and it was the easier conference,
why for a decade, did no one say, yeah, why don't I go east?
It's an easier path in the finals.
Don't have to deal with the Duncan Spurs.
Don't have to deal with Steph's Warriors.
Don't have to deal with the Rockets.
All I have to deal with is one team that no one guy nobody's afraid of in LeBron.
It's interesting.
It just seems like people's action said they knew no matter how stacked the West was.
The best chance of getting to the finals was either being on LeBron's team or being on a team that could play him in the finals because no one was beating him for a decade.
That's how I read the history, but I don't know. Maybe Mario Chalmers knows better.
By the way, Mario Chalmers, you know what I mean? Everybody talks about Jordan's shot.
Mario hit a bigger shot than Michael Jordan. Where's his statue? Shout out Mario Chalmers,
those seven Kansas Jayhawks. Worst bet I ever lost. Memphis, minus two and a half. Disaster. Go ahead, sorry.
You and J. Mack and you're betting. So I came out, I said this. The movie really air is a large part of it's about Michael Jordan's mom,
just a rock of Gibraltar, a rock of strength.
Sure.
And she's really a key component in it.
Viola Davis, the actress, easy to root for.
Neat story.
And I did say that, you know, we're all, to some degree, all of us have a part of our parents' personalities, right?
And she was very strong and committed and focused.
And Michael is strong, committed, and focused.
And it was interesting.
I said, the one thing about Michael, he chose the right people.
Phil Knight, Phil Jackson, Dean Smith, David Falk, he chose well.
And I said about 20 minutes ago, I said, I like Lamar Jackson.
He's not choosing well.
And we've seen this in our life with athletes.
They choose bad agents, bad teammates, bad friends.
So he chooses his mom as an agent.
And now apparently somebody that's not even registered as an agent.
And I'm like, you got to get.
It's not great.
It's not great.
Like, where do you have him going?
Well, I mean, I think there's, I gave a list of the best destinations for him.
I can tell you that, and then we can talk about his decision making here.
I think the cults, if they wait until after the draft, so they use the number four pick
and then they try to sign them and they give up the next two first round picks.
The Falcons, I know they said they were out, but they make sense.
Here's the thing on the Patriots, Colin.
Belichick is 30 wins behind Shula.
If they stick with the current quarterback situation, how much?
20 years are going to take the Patriots to get 30 wins.
Belichick going to coach five more seasons?
And then I think Detroit or San Francisco would become the overwhelming favorites in the
conference if they get them.
Obviously, San Francisco would have to wait until after the draft because they don't
have first round pick.
So I think all those places make sense.
And on Detroit's end, you could probably get a second round pick for Jared Gough.
But on Lamar's end, do you remember when your dear friend Baker Mayfield finally
broke his silence?
and it was in some weird podcast
and there was a dog on the couch next to him
splayed out and it's like
this is not the greatest messaging
I've ever seen
like this is maybe not
that you maybe you don't have the greatest
PR and I like Baker a lot
but I didn't think that was the greatest messaging
I think Lamar
who's released the information
that he, his own production company
is going to interview him
I don't think that is the right path
I think Lamar
could either give an
interview or a statement that is very succinct and very simple.
And you'd say, I want to clear some things up.
First of all is this.
Everyone has said that I want the deal Deshawn Watson got.
And that may or may not be true.
But here is what is definitively true.
I was eligible for a new contract a full year before Deshawn Watson was ever traded.
The Ravens opted, despite me winning a league MVP in that year coming off a playoff
victory to not re-sign me, the market shifted beneath their feet.
That is their fault and not mine.
Furthermore, I have seen quarterbacks who have accomplished far less than me get paid
far more than Baltimore is currently offered.
And now we are in a situation where I am currently on the books to make less money than
Daniel Jones.
That seems ludicrous to everyone involved.
And if message that, and I think you can get some of the money.
the public relations back on your side.
I think this has been handled
somewhat awkwardly by him.
And I do fear this one thing,
Colin, that because
the NFLPA, and you know I'm a
union guy, but the union
has to look out for everybody.
And because the NFLPA
is helping him with this,
it is a massive win for
players as a whole
if Lamar gets a fully guaranteed
deal. Is it more
important for the union for that
to happen than for Lamar.
That would be my concern
where maybe if there was
one-to-one representation, they
could say, listen, we have gotten this
as far as we can get it, you have gotten
90% of what you wanted.
Is this worth fighting further?
So I just, I don't think
the Ravens have handled this great, and I
don't think Lamar has gotten the greatest of advice
up to this point. But we'll see.
Maybe someone post-draft will
pay through the nose for him because
he is a different and obvious difference
but it's not looking like that right now.
Nick Wright, first things first, crushing, and he's got a podcast, his beautiful wife's on it.
What's right with Nick Wright?
She holds him, she holds him accountable.
She doesn't let him just go out here and wander around.
She doesn't allow that.
Unlike you.
You know what I mean?
You just let me talk.
You take a sip of coffee and sit back.
Yeah, yeah, I know.
She's yelling at me, cursing at me sometimes.
It's fun.
Colin, I love you.
I miss you.
I hope to see you soon, my friend.
All right, good stuff.
Yeah, I will say that air movie I saw last night.
I don't know if Matt Damon looked like Sonny Vakero
or Ben Affleck looked like Phil Knight, not really.
But it was a really good script.
I really liked it.
You should go watch it.

podcast.
All right,
J. Mack with the news.
No.
No.
Turn on the news.
This is the Herdline News.
Yeah, yeah.
I would like to see that movie.
It's tough, man.
March Madness.
I really am hamstrung until it ends.
It's only 90 minutes.
It's a great 90 minute watch.
Get up in the morning, watch it, get you
fired up to work out.
You know the last movie I saw?
I'm embarrassed to admit this sun air.
Get out.
It was the last one I watched.
Before this one.
Like six years ago.
No, no, no.
I just watched it the other day on a flight.
Oh.
So I flew from Atlanta home and I watched Get Out, which is fascinating movie.
Oh, yeah, that's good.
And then I watched, I need to watch more movies.
Yeah, you know, I'm going to watch the one.
Tar is the one that got nominated for an Oscar.
I'm going to watch that in the next couple of years.
I saw Cocaine Bear.
How is that?
It was not good, but it was funny at points.
My 12-year-old said, all anybody at schools talking about is Cocaine Bear, can we go see it?
I was like, this isn't a real movie.
I watched the trailer.
It's not a kid's movie.
It's not a kid's movie, but it's good to, you know,
don't let the kids know that drugs are bad and they're bears doing drugs in the movie.
It had its moments, but it wasn't the best movie ever. I'll just say that.
Yeah, I was just talking to a Hollywood big shot yesterday because I sat down for this movie
and next to my right was a Hollywood big shot. Because, you know, the theater was kind of full.
And I said it used to be, even 10 years ago, if there were eight movies nominated for an
Oscar, I would watch seven of them. I'm like, now I won't watch any of them. Like it's, they're not
entertain me.
Like I thought Top Gun.
This year I watched Top Gun.
Oh, yeah.
And I think I'll watch Tar.
Is that how it's pronounced?
That's a real movie?
Yeah.
I've never heard of it.
But I mean, it's like, it's like they're, don't, don't challenge me too much.
Make me think and make me laugh.
Entertain me.
Entertainment me.
For 90 minutes to two hours.
Marvel does a great job with that.
Yeah.
DC Comics does a great job with that.
By the way, the Hollywood guy next to me, he loved Top Gun.
Who did love Top Gun?
Well, snobs, Hollywood elites.
People on social media didn't love Top Gun.
No, weirdos.
The weirdos, definitely.
Non-weirdos like Top Gun.
Yeah.
That should have been, that's how they should have marketed it.
Non-weirdos will love this movie.
Incredible.
I mean, it was...
I love that.
I'm going to go see it a second time.
Should we talk more about movies or sports?
Well, whatever.
I mean, I know your catalog is kind of weak, but we'll go to sports.
We haven't mentioned your buddy, Aaron Rogers.
And he's probably waiting to make his decision still.
This jet stuff is on hold yesterday at a Wisconsin Tech Summit.
Packers owner Mark Murphy said he's undersworn secrecy regarding the trade discussions.
Apparently it's being held up over compensation.
Where are you on interest in the Aaron Rogers trade?
Do you think there's any chance it falls apart?
No, I spent all last week in it, so I'm bored by it now.
Like people thought I wanted to talk Baker Mayfield forever.
I didn't, but it kept getting numb.
People liked it.
I follow.
Our audience drives the bus.
You like it.
I'll talk.
So last week, Aaron, we got pretty good numbers on podcasting and stuff.
People were interested.
But I'm not interested in day-to-day talking about it.
Like, get it done.
It happens.
I don't think they're going to win a Super Bowl.
I think that's a bunch of nonsense.
But I think they'll be better.
And I just wish that Aaron Rogers wouldn't leave the NFC
because outside of Jalen Hertz and Matt Stafford,
Jared Gavitt.
That's why I'm rooting for Lamar to go to Atlanta.
Give us some fun quarterbacks on our side.
You know, we need to get like a team in football every year that we just champion and ride it.
Well, Detroit could be that team.
I think that's probably going to be the team.
Who was it last year?
Would you say Vikings?
I didn't champion them, but they were my best pick.
I whipped on the Broncos and I hit on the Vikings.
I was one for one on my big.
Everybody whiffed on the Broncos.
Yeah.
Did we get behind the Giants a little bit last year?
No, you did.
I didn't.
I was going to pick them fourth and you talked me into third.
And you, I got that division.
I picked Philly, Dallas, Johnson.
Washington in order. Thanks to you, I got the division four for four.
That's good. You were the reason, yes.
I try to help around here. Next up, speaking of Baker-Mayfield, he's officially a Tampa Bay
Buccaneer. They had the press conference yesterday. It's his fourth team in the last calendar
year, four teams for the first former overall. He blew that Cleveland thing. He could be a,
he could be a Cleveland Brown for the rest of his life. I know this is crazy, but if you go
back to that Brown's Chiefs playoff game, where Mahomes gets injured.
They're in control of it.
The Browns could have won that game, and everything is different for Baker Mayfield.
I mean, they go to the AFC championship.
Like, you just don't know what happens with his future.
And now it's falling apart.
He wore out Andrew Barry.
They would have kept him.
He wore them out because of non-football stuff.
Well, and also the injury.
The shoulder injury trying to play through to be a tough guy.
People, my dad used to say this.
People make career decisions for you when you're not in the room.
Curry favor.
it's easier to attract a bee with honey than vinegar.
Most of the career decisions in your life will be made when you're not in the room.
Get along with people.
Be a lubricator, not an agitator.
Don't start fires.
Put them out.
Because people are going to raise their hands in a room once you start making good money.
Should we keep her?
Should we keep in?
Hands up, hands down.
Overwhelmingly, your career will be decided when you're not in the room.
Don't be a schmuck.
That's interesting, but I'm stuck on this bee thing. Can you repeat that? I didn't totally let that sink in.
You attract more bees with honey than vinegar. Get along with people. Lubricate society. Don't argue on Twitter about stuff that's not worth anybody's time.
If you want a fun fact, I've never been stung by a bee in my life. Usually I run from them. I kind of panic. I don't want to be stung.
But that's just a fun fact. I've never eaten at Arby's. Where? Arby's.
It's the only unique thing about me.
I don't know. It's the only unique thing about my life.
life. I've never eaten it in Arby's. Other than that, I'm just boring trip. We should do the show
from Armies one day. Power hour from Arbyes. Anyways, about Baker-Mayfield. He's talking about how,
guess what? He's never going to be Tom Brady. And here it is life replacing the goat.
Oh, okay. Listen, I'm never going to beat Tom Brady. There's a reason he has won so many Super Bowls.
He's the greatest of all time. There's no doubt about that. I'm not going to try and beat Tom.
I'm going to be me. That's what's gotten me to this point.
We're going to do it differently.
But that's what makes this league so special.
Everybody puts their own touch on it.
But yeah, it's an honor to follow up with somebody like that.
And I'm definitely the people that have played with him around here.
I'm going to pick their brain as to the things you did.
There's no doubt about that.
So I'm excited.
I still contend if he pivoted do a college football analyst job, he'd be a rock star.
Sounds about right.
He's made a lot of money.
He's going to do this for a couple more.
I don't know.
Let me say that quote out loud.
I'm never going to be Tom Brady.
Well, let's not pick on him.
No, there's no Tom Brady.
Let's not pick on it.
But why even bring, why mention Tom Brady?
Well, because Tom was there.
So Tom, everybody asked him about, I'm telling you right now.
If you look at that picture, doesn't that look like an analyst on a college football broadcast?
He looks like he's ready to call K State and Baylor.
No more headband.
He's settled down.
He's married.
Probably going to have kids.
I think he'd be a great college football.
He'd be like Barclay of college football.
I think, no, I think he'd be a great college football.
I think he'd be a, I would put him on a set and let him go.
I just wonder how much of this has humbled him, you know, four teams in a calendar year.
He's not a bad guy.
No, no, no, at all.
I know two people that know him.
He's not a bad guy.
Nobody's ever a little hutsbow, a little cocky for the position, but not a bad guy.
People like him.
I know people, multiple people that like him.
Listen, he led the NFL in commercials, of course people like him.
By the way, was actually good in him.
It's like, he's good in front of the camera.
Take your word for it.
Final story, Kevin Durant.
he might be coming back according to the athletic
Shams Sharania.
All right.
The sons are hopeful to have their superstar back by the end of March
since the trade.
Remember, they were 3 and 0 with KD in the lineup.
They're only 5 and 7 without the Slim Reaper or whatever his nickname is.
I'm jealous of him.
You see that hat he wears?
I've thought about wearing that out at night,
and I just don't think I'd look as good.
He looks good in a hat.
Was that a bucket hat?
What do you call those things?
I think he looks good in that.
Can we get the image?
Some guys can wear that.
And I'm jealous of guys who look good in hats.
I look terrible in hats.
Remember when you lost that bet and you have to wear the hat back?
No, I had a big ears.
I look like a taxi with its doors open.
I don't, I'm not good looking in hats.
Oh, that hat.
Yeah, like, I'd like to be able to wear that.
Okay, so I have one of those.
How do you look at it?
And it's like fluorescent green.
Well, that's not.
I'll never forget.
I wear it on the soccer field when I play at night.
And I go up to my son.
Now, look at him.
He can wear that to dinner.
You look tough.
It just looks.
good on him.
Yeah.
Some guys are hat guys.
What's that called?
Why don't we get one of those?
What's that style called?
What's the style of hat?
I think that's a knit hat, right?
Isn't that?
Just a beanie?
You're calling it a beanie?
God, I'm jealous of that.
He's got a good hat head.
Try it.
I mean, that would be a good look for you.
I think it would be.
Colin, what are you?
47, 50, something like that.
Just try it.
You have nothing to lose.
Get a hat for tomorrow's show.
Here we go.
All right.
Any time, baby.
I like Kevin Durant.
I really do.
You're a big fan of his work, huh?
I just, I think he's unique.
I think he's a good guy who a little bit of a wanderer personality.
But I was sad he went to Brooklyn.
I thought, dude, you just, that'd be like my home's going to the Jets.
Like, what are you doing?
How about this?
Can we be clear, leaving OKC for the Warriors was smart and just a brilliant thing to do?
Because he's crushed for it.
No, no, no, no.
That's why it was so disappointed.
I always want to see stars.
I want to see stars be great.
He could be great next to Russell Westbro.
He could not be great next to Westbro.
He could be next to Curry.
Well, they were pretty good.
They were pretty good.
Not good enough because, you know, one guy who needs the ball.
Well, there was also a dynasty at Golden State.
That was kind of a big deal.
Also.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.

embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

So earlier today, we noted that free agency period can be a little,
I'm always reluctant to embrace teams that spend a fortune on flashy players during
free agency.
Just even with a quarterback like Russell Wilson or Matt Stafford doesn't solve everything.
Matt Stafford won a Super Bowl.
last year he was all banged up. He's still got injuries and he's still very expensive. So it doesn't
solve everything. But I do think six teams have, are absolutely better football teams if you count
coaching hires and trades in free agent acquisitions. I think six teams in the league are
absolutely better today. I think Denver's number one where they solve their offensive issues.
We don't doubt they have talent. By the way, Javonte Williams from the ACA.
returns for an injury so they get their star running back back.
They get Sean Payton and they went out and Ben Powers and Mike McGlinchie are high-end starters
on the offensive line.
Big win there.
I think you've got to give the Bears credit for getting DJ Moore, who is a vertical
threat and Robert Tonyon from the rival Packers.
So now with Cole Comette and Robert Tonion, DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, Darnel Mooney,
that's five highly capable skill players.
So those are good gets.
I also think they upgraded on defense and they got a ton of picks.
So I thought the draft was going to lean offense.
But my guess today is that defense, that draft, they're going to go clean up some of the defense.
I think the Detroit Lions by keeping Ben Johnson, the Red Hot coordinator, and solving their corner issue.
A couple years ago, they drafted Jeff Okuda at Ohio State.
He's been injured.
It hasn't solved their issues.
So they went and got Cameron Sutton from the Steelers.
very nice player, Emmanuel Mosley, and then CJ Gardner Johnson, safety from the Eagles.
So they picked up a good running back.
They lost a good running back, kind of a wash there.
But their weakness was corner, and they solved it so they don't have to concentrate on it much in the draft.
Because I had speculated, they were going to go after the Oregon Corner Christian Gonzalez, I think his name is.
I think the Miami Dolphins by getting two people, Vic Fangio and Jalen Ramsey.
It'll be a better defense.
Fangio is a fantastic coordinator.
Denver, a little older, didn't work as a head coach.
League is pivoted to offense.
But that'll be a better defense to go along.
Braxton Barrios will be sneaky, effective, and productive in Mike McDaniels' offense.
I think number five is Carolina.
It's a really good staff.
And the bottom line, upgraded running back, wide receiver, tight end,
Miles Sanders, Adam Thielen, Haley, Haley,
Vaugh.
Von Bell is one of those veteran defensive guy who's a leader on the back end.
You know, they gave up some DJ more and some picks.
They're going to go get a quarterback with the number one pick,
but at least that quarterback comes in with a proven running back wide receiver,
tight end, and Andy Dalton is a mentor.
And I think, I've never said this before,
but I love everything that Houston Texans have done this entire off season.
They've gotten very productive, smart veteran players.
Shaq Mason, elite guard.
Robert Woods, a number two, three, a willing, blocking receiver.
Devin Singletary from Buffalo, nice back.
up running back, Dalton Schultz, highly productive tight end, Jimmy Ward, a really good safety,
like everything.
And then Demico Ryan's is a little bit of a question mark.
I have no idea.
But like every single running back receiver, tight end, O line, D line safety upgrades everywhere.
By like productive guys, willing to block guys.
So when they land Bryce Young, the betting markets are saying today that Bryce Young will go to Houston
at 2 and C.J. Stroud, Carolina
at 1, which means
then, if that's true, the Colts will have a
big decision with the more polished
Big Arm Will Levis from the
SEC, or the
uniquely athletic, but
raw, unpolished
Anthony Richardson.
And I'm not sure where they're going to go.
Yeah, that's a difficult one.
Let me go back to your Bears take. So I'm looking
at the list that you showed, and you're
rattling off the names, and I'm thinking about the volatility
in that division. Aaron Rogers leaves.
we think the lions are ready for prime time.
We don't know if they are.
Remember?
They didn't make the playoffs.
But look at how many guys they have.
They're receiving Cornell now.
I mean, DJ Moore, Claypool, Mooney.
Cole come at.
Tanya.
They got some guys.
Oh, yeah.
It's not a...
This is going to sound a little dramatic.
Don't fall out of your chair.
Is there a scenario where the Bears
steal the division at like 9 and 8?
And let me finish.
The last two teams that spent the most money in free agency,
The Patriots two years ago made the playoffs.
And last year the Jaguars made the playoffs.
Is there a scenario where the Bears somehow get it together?
Two picks in the top ten and steal a playoff spot or win the division?
Well, by getting those two linebackers, and I think they're going to spend a lot of their draft capital now on defense.
Because they, let's face it, they draft the receiver last year.
It was a big whiff.
So they have a defensive coach and a GM that's proven that he can draft defense.
So they've always been an organization that struggles with the offensive side.
So what they're telling you is, we're going to bring in offensive guys that are in the league.
Receiver, tight-in, running back.
And they were in on McGlinchie.
So they wanted to bring in the right tackle.
What they're telling you is they're probably, they'll draft a tackle or maybe a center,
but they're going to use that draft capital to get that defense right.
Because they don't need a tight end or a receiver now.
Certainly not in the top four or five picks.
And they have a one, two, twos, a three, four.
two-fives.
Jalen Carter from Georgia could fall to them.
Yep.
Are they at nine, I believe?
He could fall a little bit.
And then you're getting a steal.
Detroit and Chicago need an interior delinement.
Both.
Just keep an eye on the bear.
I'm not saying they're going to be great,
but the scenario is they could steal the division.
I don't think it's zany.
See you tomorrow with the herd.
