And, yeah, by the way. It's just a rap for him? If you do see Alvin Camara, I'd recommend taking the stairs. He's under contract this year. So I think it's a nice little one-two punch. Is that what that is? Yeah. So that's your...

I see what you did there, too. One-two punch. I see what he did there? One-two? John is in the gutter. That's in the gutter. That one isn't in the gutter. That one's in the elevator.

I told you, man. You see him. Take the stairs. That's the lesson. There's an escalator. I think I'll wait for the next one. Thank you. You know what's great about that story, though?

No worries, man. They knew he had assaulted a guy at an elevator, but they still let him play the Pro Bowl. Well, they had to do a little bit more investigative. Listen, we don't want to take him out of this game. But, yeah, it is now Travis A-TN. Okay, so. Well, I think...

This was a tremendously disappointing year for the New Orleans Saints. But I do think the Saints come away going, we got our quarterback. Tyler trying to build around them. Yeah. Tyler Shuck played much better than I think anybody thought he was going to play. I believe he just turned 34, if I'm not mistaken. So maybe that's a bit long in the tooth.

But he played a lot better than I think a lot of people expected. And I think the Saints are still, because remember back before the season started, they were predicted to be the worst team in the league. It was the tanking for Arch Manning. All the stars were going to align. bring him back. And then you come to find out, the Saints haven't drafted a quarterback in the first round since Archie Manning. That was the last episode. Drew Breeze, obviously from the Chargers, all the quarterbacks that they've had, they've never drafted one in the first round. And if they,

in fact, found their guy and Tyler Shuck, that's going to be another guy that was drafted later on. And he performed at a high level last year. And they were a fun team to watch. They went four and one. under Shuck the last part of the season finishing up stabilizing their salary cap situation I listen

if Shuck can be that guy now that they have film on him and and they can move forward I just think that there are a lot isn't Cam Jordan isn't he gone this year

he isn't he even he's a free agent they know they just bring him back but like Kellen Moore is is a is a fine

fine coach. I think his history says that he can build an offense and this team can be a very very productive unit. But what are they going to do on defense? And listen,

I just, does this adding this piece to the backfield, ETN to the backfield, I mean, do you feel confident in this personnel altogether. Four and one could be misleading, if you ask me. So Jordan Schultz is reporting that the deal for Travis Aatian is four years, $52 million. We don't know the guarantees and what that entails.

But my one question about him would be, why did it take so long? I'm just, all right, man. Here's what we're going to let you do. You don't have a favorite team. We're just going to. Whatever name I pulled, I'd be like, is there anything else to throw four names in a hat?

We're going to shake him up and you got to pick one. And it's the NFC South. What's going on? Is there any other choice? Like, you said, gunned in my head? I don't know. Can I just watch baseball in September maybe? Or like, I don't know.

Do I really have to go to this? I don't know. Yeah, that division's rough, man. Tampa Bay. Who knows what's going to have him with Mike Evans? But it appears that that's a real likelihood that he could be going elsewhere. And then you've got New Orleans.

It seemed like they were trending up. Tampa Bay was like a disappointing team this year. It seemed like they had the ability to trend up more than what they did. It seemed like they cracked their heads off of the ceiling as well. And then you look at Carolina and Carolina gave you glimpses. Like there was positive moments for Carolina. Like things to get excited about. Teteroa.

T-Mack is a beast. He is a beast. And it even gave life. to Bryce Young and what he's able to bring to the table. This team showed some signs of life this year. In fact, it would probably be the team I'm highest on in this division. I love Bejohn Robinson. I think they got some fine football players that they've brought in on that Atlanta Falcons team.

But I just think that there are two bigger question marks. There are bigger question marks in my estimation with Michael Pennix and this Atlanta Falcons team than even with Bryce Young. moving forward with this Carolina Panthers team. And with that being said, I like Baker Mayfield. I think Baker Mayfield is the best quarterback in that division. I just don't know where this Tampa Bay team is going currently after seeing the way they finished the year last year.

That's just my take. They did re-sign Kate Otton, I believe. Tight-in K-Dottin is going back to the box. Yeah, so... They're a friend's team, right? They're a fringe. They could go up or they could go down. Like, you don't know which way this Tampa team is going to go this year. And then you've got the rumors that are out there that Tua Tuaahagavilo,

who was released by the dolphins earlier today, potentially could end up in Atlanta, you know, create some competition there from Michael Pennix Jr. A couple of lefties out there. You know what they should do? Just bring back every lefty that ever existed in the NFL. So Tim Tebow, Mike Vic. Who else?

Steve Young. wasn't a wasn't um boomer asiason wasn't uh jacksonville jacksonville quarterback wasn't he a lefty too oh mark brunnell brinell wasn't brinell lefty oh of course you yeah yeah yeah Todd Morinovich Todd Morinovich I mean if we're doing this let's do it will fear anybody remember him back in the day are you sure those was he's a lefty I think so if he's not he should have been a hell of a pool if you you pulled that many lefties out of That's what I'm talking about, man. It's 11-11, make a wish.

Hell yeah. All right, so Tui, what are the other moves that are making the headline, too? Has Aaron Jones got picked up? Has anybody picked up Aaron Jones? Kenneth Walker is going to Kansas City.

All right. What about Michael Thomas? We were talking about the Saints. Anything for Michael Thomas? Didn't he beat up some guy who was doing construction on his street? Michael Thomas? I think he threw a brick at some guy's window. What about Todd Gurley? Todd Gurley's out there.

You need running bags. What about Todd Gurley? Imagine being that construction worker. You're just trying to do your job. You've got safety cones out and an NFL receiver throws a brick at your windshield. Travis Kelsey will be returning to Kansas City also. One-year deal. This was Indy.

Indy made some moves today. Alec Pierce is back. Four year, $116 million deal. A million dollar deal. $84 million guaranteed. And then they traded Michael Pittman to Pittsburgh, which we think could be assigned. Maybe they're trying to get Aaron Rogers back. Mike McCarthy.

There's a lot of stuff aligning there. Malik Willis heading to Miami, three-year deal. 45 million dollar guaranteed. LeVar is not convinced. He could be the starter, but that's a lot of money from the backup. He'll get what, like 25 or something to that effect this year, this season? 25 million.

Yeah, what are the guarantees on his deal? It's 45 million guarantee. So, 45 guarantee, but a $67 million deal. So we'll see how it plays out. But does that break down to like 25 or something to that effect by the year? No, 15 by the year. It's a three-year deal, 45. All right.

No, I do not think that the figure is high enough for it to definitively say they're not going to do something else or somebody may compete for that starting job. I don't think that that's a job security starting quarterback contract. I don't. I don't subscribe to it. Hey, for six starts in your career? It's a good living. I'm not mad. I'm not mad at it.

But that's just, like I said, I looked it up, it does say multi-tier. It actually, it says lower tier. It's closer to a lower-tier starting quarterback's contract than it is to a top-tier. I just don't know what, I don't know what to make a Quinn yours. I mean, a lot of people like him down there. I just, I don't know. I watched him a lot of Texas, and I just don't know that he's a starting caliber NFL quarterback like long term.

He's a guy you compete with Willis for sure. Why would we have the conversation of Malik Willis just being an incumbent starting quarterback with his body of work? Six starts, right? How do you confidently say this is our guy? This is who we're going with.

This is the starter. Well, I think a lot of it is based on what this market looks like this year. Through the draft, the other quarterbacks that were that were available and I think that's why Malik Willis stepped up and was the bell of the ball as they say because I think people looked at him and said in comparison to the other quarterbacks around the league look if it was me and this might be you know a little controversial I would have just stuck with Tua like

honest to God I would have stuck with Tua and said all right maybe there's a new coaching staff it's easier to get out of the contract next year but if this was all about, you know, we need to, you know, we're trying to win games. I think two has done more than Malik Willis has. Kyla Murray's done more than Malik Willis has. What happened in Tennessee? Like, let's take a step back here real quick. Because we're talking all of this hype. This is what's happened is a market was created for Malik Willis through hype. Because I recall us being on this show and having conversations about Malik Willis and we were excited about Malik Willis's talent coming out of college, but maybe

unproven, so on and so forth, yada, yada, yada. And he goes to Tennessee and he's not in Tennessee anymore. He ends up in Green Bay. What happened in Tennessee? He was a starter there for a moment in time,

wasn't he? I don't think he fared very well there. I'm just trying to understand where did we get to a point of where there's this definitive approach to saying that Malik Willis is the guy in free agency or the guy that you would have wanted to trade

for to bring to your team to improve your team. I'm not a buyer of that. I'm not buying that stuff. Ryan Tanton Hill was still in Tennessee, so Tanna Hill was still there. Malik Willis appeared a couple of times for the Titans. Because Tanyhill wasn't good. And then, yeah.

Right? Like, you're not starting behind a terrible starting quarterback. And I love Will Levis, so all due respect. But I'm just saying, there was the perfect opportunity. If he's as good as people are saying is, it would have been a perfect opportunity for him to take over a team and be the starting

quarterback as a franchise guy. It didn't happen that way. And it didn't happen that way in Green Bay either. We talked with T.J. Hushman Zada last hour who joined us here on Fox Sports Radio. He shared his thoughts on the Maliqua Malikwilus signing in Miami. I actually thought he would end up with the Arizona

Cardinals because of the connection of the LaFlewers. I just felt like, oh, I'm going to let my little brother No, you've got to get him, do everything in your power to get him. The fact that he didn't end up with Arizona Cardinals kind of concerns me, but happily was his defensive coordinator in Green Bay. He saw him every day in practice, understands his work ethic and what he is and what he isn't. And so this will be an interesting pairing.

I'm assuming throw the ball 20 to 25 times a game. They're going to be run heavy. So that was T.J. Hushmanzot who joined us last hour. I just don't think anyone should get carried away over this move. That's all I'm saying. And I would not be surprised if he doesn't maintain the starting job. And that's just off of the body of work. Like, I know he had some positive moments and he played some really, really great moments,

some positive football for Green Bay when he got his opportunity to play. I just don't understand why people get so carried away in recency effect. Like, he had an opportunity. he thrived and he did well but i'm kind of with tj if he's as good as as people were making him out to beat and in this scenario why wouldn't you deliver the best quarterback available in this year's you know offseason to your brother now granted that's they're both in nfc you did deliver him to or you did go to a afc team and that could be that could play a major part in it but I'm just trying to understand what the hoopla is about.

If he gets into this next situation and he plays at a high level, then you can have large conversations about how well they did, LaFleur and company did with developing him and helping him to find his feet and his legs in the NFL. and now we have a franchise guy that has developed somewhere else and had the opportunity to benefit in a different franchise. It happens. We just watch Sam Darnel, which I don't consider Sam Darnel a franchise guy.

I consider him to be he's a good manager as a starter. And listen, I don't say manager with the idea of lessening who they are. I think more managers win Super Bowls than game changers. But what I'm saying is, is there are franchise game managers and franchise game changers, and then there are starting quarterbacks that are not franchise guys. There are starting quarterbacks that are not game changers, and they manage.

I don't know what Malik Willis is today. I'm not trying to come down hard on them. I'm just speaking reality. That's why I'm curious to see what the structure of the contract looks like, because, you know, and I mentioned this earlier, when Teddy Bridgewater signed a three-year deal with Carolina a few years back. And it was like, oh, it gave Teddy Bridgewater a three-year deal. And then it turns out, well, they actually got out of it after one year,

that it was really a one-year deal. And so I wonder if Miami looks at this and says, all right, there's some familiarity there with the GM and the head coach with Malik Willis. We bring him in. Let's give it a go. He gets more than six starts that he's had in his career. And if it doesn't work out, you know, we'll go back into the draft next year and try and see if we can find a quarterback there.

But I think that Arizona's tanking. I mean, if we're being honest, like Arizona's tanking. They would like to be in the quarterback mix next year. And Miami saw this as an opportunity to reunite, and that's maybe they feel like they can do special things with Malik Willis. And it remains to be seen. But I look at Arizona, I go, that's just a tank job.

They're trying to get in the mix next year. I'll pose this question to, both of you. Would you be disappointed if Malik Willis did not produce? And would there be any type of outrage if Malik Willis didn't turn out to be a starter that turns this Miami Dolphins team into a competitive team? Depends on the structure of the contract. So you're purely basing it off of what they get. I mean, it's guaranteed they got to pay them into 40 millions. Yeah, but compared to the 99 they're taken this year from two of the debt gap here. I mean, the top tier, Superbacks are making $40 million in one year, right?

They're like in the 40s for one year. He's getting it over the duration. His guarantees are over the duration of time. Again, what about you? Would you be disappointed if Malik Willis didn't have a very, very productive year? No, because I don't really have that high of expectation for him based on what we've seen. He has six starts. I just don't think you can.

And even if you do have a high ceiling for him, why would you put yourself too far over your skis in terms of excitement for the potential of what he could be? I think this is like a wait-and-see moment. I guess is what I'm saying. It comes across as I'm being a hateful person towards Malik Willis and I'm not. I'm just saying, don't act as though this is...

Oh, we got him. Legal tavern. The windows open? Yeah, it's not... Business is booming. We got Malik Willis. Like, no, you can't lose yourself to that degree. And they were probably the only team that was going to give him a deal like this

because they know him so well. I don't think any, I don't know how many teams around the NFL looked at Malik Willis and said, yeah, yeah, that's the one. Like, we got it. Because otherwise. You guys remember Matt Schaub? Yeah, he was a backup for a couple years. And then he went to, and he was fine.

He was a pro. Kyle Shanahan made him a pro. He was a starter. No, he was a starter. And they were good. They made a couple of times. But you know what? Like he never was a Super Bowl.

He was never going to win Super Bowl, right? I think you entertained it for a moment. You entertained it for a moment in Houston. You entertained it. Like, can he get him to, can't shop get him there? Also, if you want to do a Packers comp, remember Matt Flynn? Matt Flynn got that deal in Seattle. And then they drafted Russell Wilson with a mid-round or a third-round pick

or something like that. And Wilson outplayed him. And they just said, all right, well, we know we committed all this money to him. but we'll just give the opportunity to the better guy. And unless they do that in the mid-round and somebody surprises them, Malik Wilson is going to be your starter, at least for this year. For good or for bad, I just think it's pretty dangerous to get too excited over an unproven entity at that position. I think that that's ultimately what it comes down to.

Well, who knows? Maybe the dolphins will want a playoff game. It's been about 26 years. Flipper! Flip! It's unbelievable. Let's do it. All right, it is The Hurt here on Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Erington, Jonas Knox.

He now goes back, he goes to the Kansas City Chiefs there, departs Seattle, ends up in Kansas City,

provides him some assistance from the run game standpoint. It was also announced earlier that the expectation is Travis Kelsey will be back with Kansas City. There was a thought that maybe you could go somewhere else around the league, but Kansas City made the most sense. Or out of it. Yeah, like I just... and, you know, walking to the sunset with Taylor Swift. I mean, with all the Swifties, you could still go in front of large crowds and groups of people. Like, you're not going to miss the league at all. You don't think so? Yeah, he is. You're going to miss being a player in the league.

You're going to miss that part. And it also wasn't that long ago that there was real thought that Andy Reed was going to be gone and Travis Kelsey was going to be gone and all. And I just, and I said this earlier. I think Kelsey looked at it and said, I would like to go out with Patrick Mahomes on the field and not, you know, catching passes from somebody else in a really disappointing season. But I can't imagine this is more than this next year for Kelsey. What point does your opinion not matter, though, to your employment? Like at some point you got to say That's nice that you didn't get to go out on the terms of catching the ball from Patrick Mahomes

But how does that really work in terms of how we're moving forward as a team I mean the team did not have the type of success that was it has become the staple You know the calling card of of this Kansas City Chiefs team and you mentioned Andy Reid And we mentioned Andy Reid of several times earlier Here's a question How many years do you think Andy Reid has left coaching? And do we have any breaking news? Do we because we do know this is the legal tamar?

Is it quiet right now? I would say that, I saw you look down. Well, no, I would say that, you know, when it comes to Andy Reid, yeah. He's 67 years old. It feels like, I mean, it feels like, well, I thought you were kidding, and then I realized, no, he really is. It does feel like the end is near. And that's why I say this dynasty run, the run. that the Kansas City Chiefs have been on,

yeah, it is probably over. And T.J. Hushmanzada said it himself. Like, it's a rap. And there's nothing wrong with that. This is how normal dynasties go. Not everything is the Patriots, where you have that long break and then you go back and you want another one.

So it does feel like, you know, the chiefs have probably peaked, but at least they're making some moves to, you know, try and improve upon what was a really disappointing season last year. And now it is time for more breaking news from around the NFL with the great, great toey.

That's interesting. I didn't think... It's hard to imagine that guy anywhere out there than Tampa Bay. But... I mean, you think he was closer to retirement than... you know, thinking three more years, but potentially.

Hmm. I mean, it's a great, great move for Mike Evans. I mean, if there's going to be someone who finds a way to get the most out of you as a player, it's going to be Kyle Shanahan in that group there. But they so overachieved this year. I thought they were fools gold. They kind of ended up being fools gold in the end. I mean, when they went up against Seattle, it didn't look like.

like they were ready for that at all. But, man, at his age and making this move, how much better does that make sense? I mean, I like another veteran presence for them. Can he make it? Can he be adorable? No, because he would potentially turn into the main receiver on that team. Which team has the worst injury luck in a league? Oh, they do.

And it's because of the wastelands. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they practice next to Chernobyl. That's right. Yeah. Got to fall apart. Everyone makes it seems like you go practice with the Niners and your ear melts off 20 minutes later. Just the whole thing's bizarre.

But, and listen, we were in San Francisco for the Super Bowl. Thank God they practice up there. This was a quote from Mike Evans agent. This is from Derek Gilmore, his agent, quote, at this stage of his career, Mike's goals remain the same as they've always been to compete for another Super Bowl to play in an offensive system, the challenge his defenses and to be in an environment where he can continue to push himself and contribute at the highest level. The Buccaneers made it clear they would have loved for Mike to finish his career in Tampa

and potentially become just the fourth player in franchise history to spend his entire career as a Buccaneer and ultimately walk into Canton representing the organization. But Mike Evans' decision to leave Tampa was never about money. The Buccaneers were extremely aggressive in their pursuit and presented a very strong offer demonstrating how much they value him and everything he has meant to the franchise. in the end, this decision simply came down to Mike wanting a new challenge and a fresh opportunity while he still feels he has a great deal left to give the game. Tampa Bay will always be a special place for Mike Evans and his respect and gratitude for the organization and its fans will never change. That from Derek Gilmore, the agent for Mike Evans, who is great too who just pointed out, is signing a deal with the 49ers.

Translation. I don't believe in Todd Bowles and what we got going on here. You've got to get up out of here. Time to go. Let's just get right to the chase. Yeah, y'all offer me a nice contract. Not about money. Something new had to happen.

That could be some, that could come back to be damning information. That's probably top three, top four,

you know, he goes, like, he's always reportedly had a great relationship with Baker Mayfield. They've always, you know, have seemed to, but yeah, that does read... You did specifically say the coach. You specifically said it. Oh, yeah, 100%.

Yeah. That's exactly. 100% You don't believe in what this team is trying to do and you don't have the time to be dealing with what they don't know 100%. Because if you go on to say this was never about money,

the bucks were aggressive in pursuing us. So if they wanted you and it wasn't about money, clearly you didn't want them. And you go to a team that clearly has the knee. Obviously, Iyuk was a big conversation this whole entire season. Why what happened to him? Oh, right, exactly.

We don't know. We're still trying to figure it out. You know? And so you go there, obviously, coaching is the reason why they did so well this year. I'm sorry. I know players playing, coaches can't play a down and can't win a game, but the coaching, you can't undervalue

how tremendous the coaching job was done in San Francisco this year. And prior to that point, I think it's a great situation for him. Maybe he wants to go there and you know, to Todd Bowles' maybe defense,

he's a defensive man. to coach. Cow Shanahan is an offensive genius. And to be at the in the twilight of your career, if you had the opportunity to go play for a coach like Kyle Shanahan in that system and you have the respect and reverence

that Mike Evans brings to the table, why not? Why not? They've had a bunch of different coordinators there. I believe Baker Mayfield's at a different offensive coordinator every season in Tampa, which means Mike Evans, too, is at a different offensive coordinator every season. and that Baker Mayfield's been there.

And, you know, Mike Evans is looking at this going, I just, I'm sorry, I don't want to go through this again. Like, I don't want to have to relearn a new system, whether it was Dave Canales or Liam Cohen or whoever they brought in. I just don't have to do this again. And the Todd Bulls stuff from last year, when they decided to bring him back, I think there were some people that were surprised by it

because they were disappointing. And, you know, Bulls called out the players after a game. He called him out one time and said, you know, the players. got to do this. They got to step up and do what they need to do. This can't just be about the coaches. And then he made

a bunch of changes to his coaching staff to come back this year. This feels like if this next year is underwhelming for Tampa again, that's a tear-down rebuild. It feels like that one is a tear-down rebuild. And now you're going to have to do

this upcoming season without Mike Evans. Yeah, Schefter just tweeted out. His decision to leave was not about the money. The Bucks very aggressive in trying to keep him. The strong offer came down to a desire for a new challenge as he enters the last years of his career. Yeah. What do you mean by a new chap? I got to go. Look, he wants to, he wants to

win another Super Bowl. And the Niners are closer to that than the bucks are in his mind. You think so? You think so? I got to go. That's what that says. I got to go. I'm a head on out of here. It's not about the money. They pursued me. They were aggressive. Mike was at the front door with all his

I didn't say, you need to stay. Like, yeah. Let me get on out here, man. I'm going to get on my way. Yeah. I just don't. I'm going to go practice next to a nuclear reactor. I don't know that I'm totally convinced that San Fran is closer to a Super Bowl than Tampa Bay.

In fact, I would think that the easier journey towards getting to the playoffs and positioning yourself would be Tampa Bay. You do know what Tampa Bay? Bay's record was last year, right? I do. I do. And they finished behind the Panthers. I understand. Okay. But if I'm looking at these teams, do you want to see

the Rams next year? I think the Rams are probably in the NFC the best team outside of Seattle. Yeah, whoever won the NFC title game was winning in the Super Bowl. Yeah. So and listen, I get it. Sam Fran did an excellent job of keeping pace

but I'm not looking at them as being being in competition to even get out of the NFC West and look Kittles coming back off an injury who knows how that's going to look I mean not everybody's Jason Tatum where they can come off in Achilles and just you know have the weekend he had so the Niners

the Niners the Niners overcame be clear they overcame and won against all odds this year. I give them all the respect and all the credit for being able to do such a bang-up job of winning and winning and continuing to win games

under the circumstances of which they did. But am I a buyer in San Fran being a much better team the next year under the current roster? I'm not. Does Mike Evans take them to a next level of being that team that could actually win the NFC West? I don't think so. I think it's a Seattle.

I think it is a Seattle and a Rams division right now. And obviously Arizona is doing whatever they're doing. If they're tanking, they're tanking. So then you have the San Francisco 49ers who will fight. I think they will fight diligently. I think they will do an excellent job of trying to keep pace. But I just do not buy the fact that this is a team that's heading towards the Super Bowl. You know how bad Tampa is?

That he chose to go there and they ain't that much better than Tampa. Mike Evans is like, Mike Evans is like, what were you guys saying about the state taxes in California? Yeah, I'll go there.
