Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
Starting point is 00:00:43 help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends
Starting point is 00:00:59 on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents soccer moms. So I'm Leanne. Yeah. This is my best friend, Janet. Hey. And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Absolutely. A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip. Just a little bit bigger hips. This is a podcast. We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a bogo.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Well, then you got them. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be? I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS. Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to fupas to scheduling sex. Wait, what sex? Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes? They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
Starting point is 00:02:01 So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Gianna Maria Riva on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed.
Starting point is 00:02:25 You just understood. That's how personal it got. Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming until he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks for listening to The Heard Podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Be sure to catch us live every weekday on Fox Sports Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific. Find your local station for the herd at Fox SportsRadio.com. Or stream us live every day on the IHeart Radio app by searching Fox Sportsport's Radio or FSR. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Well, in a move that is sending fear throughout the NFL. The Jets just signed Gino Smith. Backward all started.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Hey, Gino Smith just helped the Raiders get Fernando Mendoza. All right. He's going to help the Jets get Archmanning. All right. Let's not, listen, I wish him well. all these guys that it's a full it's a flat circle all these guys that are moving around the league and they go back to where they started i'm happy for him good for him all right matt hasselbeck 18 NFL seasons i got so many questions to ask him so i have for years and years i have argued with not argued but debated with NFL people that the center is the most underrated position in football
Starting point is 00:03:56 it's first of all it's academic and physical it's calling your audibles And if you have an inexperienced quarterback, Ben Johnson and Chicago got this, nothing can be a better friend to Caleb than, you know, Drew Dolman. So to me, my favorite pick trade free agent signing is Tyler Linderbaum, who after Creed Humphreys, maybe the best center in football. So you tell me, what does a center, a veteran center, I think he is now, he counts as a veteran, four or five years in the league. What does that do for a rookie quarterback like Mendoza?
Starting point is 00:04:30 Yeah, you nailed it, Colin. And it's not only a veteran center. It's a veteran center that's played it with a great program with an elite MVP caliber quarterback. Like, he gets it. And, you know, just speaking from experience, as a young quarterback, some of the hardest things to do are in pass protection, in audibles, at the line of scrimmage, third down. And you rely so much on the guy in front of you, the guy snapping you the ball. He's not only the leader of the offensive line, he's the leader of the huddle before you step into the huddle.
Starting point is 00:04:58 You know, I remember when I first got traded to Seattle, we had a veteran center there named Robbie Tobac. He was the leader of our team. Not a household name, but he was the leader of our team. And when I stepped into that huddle, everybody shut up and they were listening to me because he got him ready for me stepping into that huddle. Like, I'm grateful for that. So what the New England Patriots did with Garrett Bradbury last year. You know, Drake May's first year starting to give him a, you know, maybe not as physically talented as a blocker, but a leader up there so Drake can focus on kind of growing and learning.
Starting point is 00:05:28 as a quarterback now. In year two, they don't need him. They trade him and they're going to move a young player into center. But I think it's very underrated. So I understood the same Ravens going after Max Crosby because nobody the last five years had blown more fourth quarter leads. And I've said this about Max Crosby, Matt, is that with the Raiders, they trail in the fourth quarter. So Max Crosby doesn't get that many sack opportunities. The Ravens lead in the fourth quarter. quarter. The bills lead in the fourth quarter. The Rams lead. So spending money, even overspending a little bit on a rush end for a team that leads 80% of the time late in games, I'm all for that. I think Max Crosby was wasted, still highly productive, but kind of wasted in Vegas last two years.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Now, there are those that think that's too much, first round picks, kind of expensive. Where are you on Max to the Ravens? Well, look what the market said. I mean, there were other teams in, play for this. I think the Seattle Seahawks would have done this deal. They just didn't have as sexy a first round picks to give away because they're such a good team. No, I think, listen, Max Crosby has the respect of the NFL.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Players, teammates, opponents, coaches, scouts, everybody. And he's not a one-trick pony. A lot of these guys that come up with all these sacks. They're great at rushing the passer. They're not great against the run. This dude's the real deal in every way. I mean, he's always at the top of the list, TFL's, tackles for loss
Starting point is 00:06:56 in the run game. You know, when we would play against the guy that was just trying to get sacks. He'd run right at him. You know, it was kind of a liability to the team defense. There's nothing like that with Max Crosby. He's the real deal in the run game, the past game, on the field, off the field, an identity setter. You know, he's a dog.
Starting point is 00:07:14 That's a big get. I don't think it's too much compensation at all. Okay, J-Mack disagrees with me. I don't think you need to see any more with Malik Willis. I mean, Jeff Halfleys practiced against him for two years, and he's like, get me that guy. I think that stuff matters. I know he's only got six starts,
Starting point is 00:07:34 but every time I've watched him, I feel like I get the same guy. Athletic, composed. I mean, he obviously Halfley practiced again. He saw his work ethic. Your thoughts on that move? Well, it's a big deal.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I mean, who your quarterback is is a big deal. Jeff Halfley learned that the hard way when he was a head coach at Boston College. Never quite got the quarterback right. And it's a thing. So he knows how important it is getting the quarterback right. With that being said, you mentioned it, only six games, but Jeff Hathley got to see him every single day,
Starting point is 00:08:07 every single day pretending to be the opponent's starting quarterback. You know, I spent three years backing up Brett Favre in Green Bay. And, you know, while I was in that offense, that Mike Holmgren offense that, you know, was carried, you know, from coach to coach, similar here with the Lefleur offense. The defensive coaches, I feel like I won them over before I won the offensive coaches over because they saw me every day. And so I think it's a similar situation with Malik. I think Malik is a guy that scouts have kind of, you know, not been in love with. Maybe
Starting point is 00:08:38 offensive coaches in his career have been like slow to love. His college coach, you know, threw him under the bus, pre-draft. You know, there's some of that kind of stuff. But these defensive coaches, they say, hey, you know what, this guy's humble, he's hardworking. On game day, he plays the way that I see him play every day in practice. And he's coachable. And I'll take that. And I think that's what Jeff Hathley and company see in Malik. And, you know, he also comes at the right price. So put me in the group of people that thinks this is another young quarterback that was developed in Green Bay. He's 26 years old.
Starting point is 00:09:10 His best football is in front of him. Okay, I'll tell you a move that I like the player, but I don't get the move. The Niners are old. In division, the Rams and Seahawks have better rosters and are much younger. and we've seen the Rams in recent years and the Seahawks play the Niners and they look younger. So I like Mike Evans,
Starting point is 00:09:34 but you got Trent Williams and Kittle and McCaffrey and Bosa and there's some injuries. And Mike Evans, who was dinged up last year, I can like the player, but question the move. What do you make of it? I think the 49ers are probably surprised that Mike Evans wants to go there as well a little bit.
Starting point is 00:09:53 I mean, he's probably taking less money to leave Florida to go play in California on a team, like you said, that's a tough division. But he's a dog and he produces. And I think if you look in that division in this kind of Kyle Shanahan offense, what, you know, think back to what he did with Julio Jones when he was the offense coordinator in Atlanta. Like, that's the vision for it. Kind of what McVeigh has done with Devante Adams in the red zone, what Seattle Seahawks have done with JSN.
Starting point is 00:10:19 We can make you a part of this system that helps us with our running back, McCaffrey with our tight end game. And then in the red zone, you can be a thousand yard receiver with a, you know, a ton of double-digit touchdowns. Like I think it fits. And I think for Mike Evans, he's probably like, hey, I'm chasing a ring here. It's not so much about the money. I'm chasing a ring and relevance. Sometimes when you play on one of these teams like Tampa, it's not a huge market, you kind of feel a little bit forgotten. And, you know, now here you are in San Fran, kind of one of the premier organizations in the NFL, prime time, quite a bit. I think, I think there's just an excitement as a player there.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I get the age thing, but it's a good quarterback, a good team. And I think there's a lot of guys out there that would just love to play for Kyle Shanahan. It seems like Mike Evans is one of them. So a lot of people push back on Travis Kelsey, but my take is he had already 100 yards. Nobody else in the team had over 600, and they've missed on a lot of receivers. Skymore, McColl Hardman, Hollywood Brown gets dinged up. Rishie Rice is talented, but kind of immature. Xavier Worthy's talented, but he's a gadget guy.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Take me to your career. the comfort level with the oldest receiver or skill player you ever played with. And I feel like when Brady went down to Tampa, he got on the phone with Gronk. He's like, dude, I just, like there's a comfort level with quarterbacks and take me to it, why you think Mahomes probably pounded the table for Travis Kelsey. And I don't think it's just Mahomes. I mean, for sure it is. I mean, you see what Aaron Rogers does every year trying to get his buddies back together because
Starting point is 00:11:51 he understands them. They understand each other. there's like a there's a there's a chemistry there that just can't be built overnight especially with these off seasons but no he's a hall of fame player who didn't have a hall of fame year last year and so i think if there's a you know that look you in the eye kind of thing like hey are you willing to put everything on the line for one more run at this like one more job kind of like a i don't want to say ocean's 11 because i don't think they're that old but like let's get to let's get the band back together for one more run last job we did last year that wasn't
Starting point is 00:12:23 miss the mark. But like there's so much more that Travis Kelsey brings to the table that you're not going to find in the box score in the stat sheet, you know, on the field, off the field. But God dare you. Go try to watch the Kansas City Chiefs offense and watch their cutups and try to tell me like what the tight end was supposed to do on that play because Kelsey does whatever he wants to do and within the framework of the offense. And Mahomes is with him.
Starting point is 00:12:49 But to think that this is going to be the same exact looking offense, you got Eric Bien of me back. I think it's going to be, you know, you got the big running back and Kenneth Walker. I think it's going to be a run first team and using Travis Kelsey situationally in the third downs, in the red zone and being a little bit smarter about it so that he is a little bit more productive than he was last year. You were at the combine. Did you hear some of these rumors that have transpired? Of course. I mean, people think the combine's for workouts. No, it's for pre-agency. It's like the pre-free agency. Like all the talks, who's going to go where, what's the money going to be, you know, who you're going to franchise, who you're not going to
Starting point is 00:13:33 franchise, who's getting a transition tag. It kind of sets the table for the real meal that is free agency that ends up being, you know, what happens in the draft, you know, all that kind of stuff. So it's, I think it's a really important time, you know, whether the guys work out or not. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app. Stygots here. I have a podcast empire. It continues to grow. Taylor's livelihood depends on it. it today and you can check all of those out on the iHeart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast hey it's us the jonas brothers and guess what we have some big news what's the news news news news we created our own podcast called hey jonas we invented a podcast well we didn't invent it we just contributed to it first people to do podcasts pretty yeah pretty wide range of podcasts we're starting a
Starting point is 00:15:16 trend but this one's extra special so how do we how do we actually come up with the name hey jonas guys I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:15:43 And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
Starting point is 00:16:11 This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris, every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay. Jen Chinchin win. I mean, she went down at three to, two. Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Listen, Lerna Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your court side seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
Starting point is 00:17:23 It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard radio app,
Starting point is 00:17:45 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines.
Starting point is 00:18:06 We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. I saw a story that the Raiders, not necessarily, they may not start Fernando,
Starting point is 00:18:47 Mendoza, you know, like Flacco's name was out there. And could you bring in a veteran just for a year? How does that land for you? I'm fine with that. I'm absolutely fine with that. Look at the quarterbacks that have had just incredible careers. Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes. They did not start their first year. You know, I certainly did not. I started my fourth year. Backed up Brett Farr for three years. I would have failed if I had I had to play earlier than that. Fernando Mendoza, he was at the combine, not throwing, spent a lot of time with him, loved everything about him. But at the same time, if he were saying to me, what would be the best thing for his career? Yeah, listen, maybe watching Joe Flacco start for the Raiders for an entire season might be the best thing for the Raiders,
Starting point is 00:19:32 it might be the best thing for his career. And you know, you've heard Tom Brady talk a lot about it, talk about it a lot, about what Drew Bledsoe meant to his career. watching Drew be a pro, watching Drew's process of leadership and how he prepared, how he dealt with injuries, how he dealt with the media, you know, all that kind of stuff. So I would not be against that at all. Matt Hasselbeck, 18 NFL seasons. Love having them on the show. Good seeing you, buddy. All right, Colin. See you, buddy. I love this stuff. Diana Rusini, Matt Hasselbeck stopped by the show today for some contextualization of what we've seen.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Philadelphia. Eagles have had a, weird last several months. Coaching hires, defensive players leaving, a coach retiring, Howie Roseman has gone Bermuda Triangle. He just disappeared. I have no idea where he's at. But the good news for the Jets, Gino is coming back. Can't come home again.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Maybe with a jet you can. J-Mac with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. I love the glee you have for Gino and the Jets. These jokes write themselves, Colin. Let's get started with Max Crosby, 2X Crosby, the big trade over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Goes from the Raiders to the Ravens. I don't know if you saw this, Colin. Crosby posted a 13-minute goodbye video on social media. Really? 13 minutes? Here's part of his message to Vegas fans. I feel like I left, you know, everything I had on the table for this team. I've given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let y'all down, man.
Starting point is 00:21:17 But for the time being, it's a new day. I'm going to Baltimore, flock nation, everybody in the whole city of Baltimore, I got a lot to learn. Everything is going to be new to me, and I'm excited. I think, and I watched that video, Max Crosby is, when I watched the video, I thought, his passion, his appreciation, that is why certain guys feel like soul of the franchise guys. And he loves the Raiders as much as fans love the Raiders. But when I watch that video, I'm like, you know, and I think a lot with Max's because his life's been turbulent and difficult, he is so grateful and so humble for the life that, for the record, he's created. He was a fourth round pick.
Starting point is 00:22:08 So I just, I got to tell you, he may be my favorite NFL player. Now that Brady's retired, he may be my favorite NFL player. Well, listen, I know it seems like I don't love Crosby. You know, we had some beef over whether he was top five and he called me out on the show. I find myself very similar to him. Underdogs, overcome adversity, rise to the top of Harper. I like Max Crosby. I just wonder, Colin, they asked me this morning, do you see Crosby helping the Ravens get back to the playoffs?
Starting point is 00:22:38 Have you looked at the depth chart or the opponents this season? Have you looked at Lamar's salary? Have you looked at the skill position? Like, I don't think I can give the Ravens the seal of approval that they're going back to the playoffs. They're not as bad as the Chiefs. But have you taken an in-depth look at their roster yet? Yeah, I mean, they had six pro bowlers that got talent. They always drafted in the Belvoir.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Everyone should do or made the Pro Bowl. We've got to stop using that as a metric. I mean, this is a team that gave up two firsts for Max. They mortgage her future hoping to get all in this year. I mean, if you start breaking down the AFC contenders, are they a top five team in the AFC cone? Buffalo, New England, Denver. I think we both like the Chargers, Houston, Baltimore. I think they're on the cusp of it.
Starting point is 00:23:29 They're in that five, six spot. And you can't at the same time absolutely love your best free agent move as Linderbond to the Raiders and not say that that's an enormous hole for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. It is. I know I got some Ravens buddies. My brother lives in that area. Like, they all go to Ravens games. Well, it's a great organization.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Great organization. This could be a tough year ahead. And this negotiation for Lamar, that's the next big story after Free Agency. Well, the good news is Cleveland is in the division. That's great news. But Pittsburgh has done some things. They did some things yesterday. But if Will Howard starts, you're good.
Starting point is 00:24:05 I mean, Metcalfe, and Pittman, Dowdell and the other back they got Warren. I like that. I don't know about the offensive line. We'll see. Let's move on to Kenneth Walker, Colin, and the Chiefs have big deal three years, up to $45 million. Again, there's a report that it is the richest free agent deal for a running back in NFL history.
Starting point is 00:24:26 That's going to Kenneth Walker, who, by the way, in December, was viewed as a backup, a change of pace guy to Zach Charbonnet. I'll just put that out there. It feels weird. Brett Veach buying at the top of the market on Kenneth Walker? Well, it's a terrible running back draft. The chiefs are telling you, Jeremiah Love's not going to be available. Fine, you go get a price, the second Notre Dame running back at the end of the draft of 29.
Starting point is 00:24:55 There's a big gap between Jeremiah Love and the second best running back. They went to a Super Bowl with Pacheco, the seventh rounder as their lead back. Well, they had a much deeper team then. So true. But what they really need is a right tackle, and I think they're going to land potentially the best, second best offensive linemen in the draft and the best right tackle. So now Kenneth Walker, right tackle, Rishi Rice is now healthy. That solves to, and if Simmons plays, because he was good when he played last year, and he didn't late,
Starting point is 00:25:28 I think they solve running back right tackle. I think they solve a lot of their issues offensively. I love your optimism, my friend. Final story, let's go back to the world baseball classic. U.S. beat Mexico last night. Polskine's had a really good game for scoreless innings. Homer's from Judge and Roman Anthony helped build the lead. US 3 and O and pool play.
Starting point is 00:25:50 So A.J. Persinski was on the show Friday while you were gallivanting across America having fun. A.J. Persinski said all the pressure was on Captain America. Here we go. Aaron Judge. Captain America. right he's had a history of not being great in the postseason until last year we'll see if he can do it he figured something out in the postseason last year USA listen if you had me make a bet i would always pick the USA just because of their lineup but it's a one game tournament once you get past the group
Starting point is 00:26:19 stage if you lose one you're out you into pitching can only go five like paul skeins in the semifinals if he pitches that can only go five innings and you're counting on relievers to all be good same for the other team so it's tough because it's a one and out situation boy i i i i I like to think I know college basketball betting. His breakdown almost nailed the entire game. Aaron Judge, how far is Paul Skeen's going to go? The bullpen and we'll see. Like all of it happened.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Well, I like the fact. I love how much clearly Cal Raleigh of the Mariners. You see what he did to his teammate? He wouldn't give him the high five. You wouldn't give him the fist bump. I love how competitive and how much these games mean. to guys that are worth 100 million plus. Look at how much it means.
Starting point is 00:27:08 For Aaron Judge plays for the Yankees, he's been to a World Series, look at how much it means to beat Mexico. That's why when I watch these hockey guys, these professional hockey guys playing Canada, it's like you'd think it was game seven of the Stanley Cup. So, I mean, you know, people, all these athletes, and they all make all this money.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I'm telling you, I've watched hockey guys and baseball guys in these international competition. they are all in on this stuff. They're acting like it's a play. Look at this. Cal Raleigh will not acknowledge his teammate. Yeah. It reminds me.
Starting point is 00:27:45 You remember in the Olympics, Steph Curry going nuclear against France, I still watch that video and I get goosebumps because it's, you know, USA triumphing over another country, like baseball, hockey, basketball. It's incredible. J-Mack with the news. Well, that's the news.

Starting point is 00:29:32 Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it.
Starting point is 00:29:43 We just contributed to our... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling.
Starting point is 00:30:02 it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:30:23 But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
Starting point is 00:30:47 help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
Starting point is 00:31:10 I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay. Jenchian win. I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lerner Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world,
Starting point is 00:31:32 right now and I actually can win on any surface because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your court side seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
Starting point is 00:32:31 That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action, with stories told by the people who live them.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. All right, Romeo Dobbs. You get into the sort of B-level free agent signings. The big dogs have been signed. So the Patriots picked up Elijah Vera Tucker from the Jets, who is either great or hurt, but he's good when he's available.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Romeo Dobbs, Patriots find Romeo Dobbs, probably a replacement for Stefan Dix, feels like a really good two. Can be a little inconsistent, can disappear, you know, has some drops, but Romeo Dobbs is a good player. He's a very good player. He's either a really low-end one or an exceptionally high two. Kind of a Michael Pittman feel like he's either one of the better twos in the league. And Drake May likes to throw the ball down the field and Dobbs has really good speed. so he can move. So that's a nice pickup for New England. And I think Elijah Vera Tucker, again, the O line in the Super Bowl was pretty obviously
Starting point is 00:34:09 was the weakness. So Elijah Vera Tucker moves in. I wouldn't be shocked if they don't. New England goes and gets another tackle in this draft. But you can see what they're attacking. They're attacking a position of need. Wide receiver. They want to get Drake May help.
Starting point is 00:34:23 The New England Patriots are spending money to help Drake May. That's what the Bears did. Caleb Williams. That's what the Raiders are doing by getting Tyler Linderbaum for Fernando Mendoza. So the smart teams figured out. Draft the quarterback and get him help. Get him confident. Keep him upright.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Get him weapons. That's what New England's doing. It does feel like in free agency, you get a lot of number two receivers getting paid like number one receivers, Wondell Robinson with the Giants. Good number two-ish. He's now going to Tennessee getting paid like a one. but I always feel like the Titans always feel like their wide receiver light. It is never have enough wide receivers.
Starting point is 00:35:05 There's also an interesting, Daniel Jeremiah, somebody very well connected. He just made a little bit of a, he put it out there. With the Rams who have moved off a first round pick and a third, a fifth, and a sixth, a third next year, to get, Trent McDuffie, would they move up again in this draft to get Jeremiah Love the running back? You'd probably have to move up two or three spots to get. But my take, and I think Daniel's very bright, they've got Blake Corum, Kyan Williams. I'm not sure, Tyron Williams, I'm not sure they need another running back.
Starting point is 00:35:45 But I also think by going out and getting McDuffie and Watson from the Chiefs is, listen, they've already got a Super Bowl title with Stafford. McFave already been to one and lost with golf. I kind of feel like the Rams are just saying, you know, you guys can go get quarterbacks next year. Stafford's our guy for two years, and we're going to load up this roster. So my take on what the Rams are going to do with their first pick,
Starting point is 00:36:15 my take is if they would move up, they'd want a right tackle. Because I don't feel, when you have an older quarterback, that's what worries me. So I don't see them moving up for a running back. I can see him moving up for Bono, that right tackle from Utah, who is probably the best pure tackle in the draft. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:36:38 I also love the move by Miami to get Malik Willis. And Matt Hasselbeck came on earlier. J. Mack doesn't love the move, but Hasselbeck brings up an interesting point on Jeff Hathley, the new Dolphins coach from Green Bay, really seeing something the two years he was in Green Bay watching Malik Willis. Jeff Hathley got to see him every single day, every single day pretending to be the opponent's starting quarterback.
Starting point is 00:37:11 You know, I spent three years backing up Brett Favre in Green Bay. The defensive coaches, I feel like I won them over before I won the offensive coaches over because they saw me every day. And so I think it's a similar situation with Malik, but these defensive coaches, they say, hey, you know what? This guy's humble. He's hardworking. On game day, he plays the way that I see him play every day in practice, and he's coachable. And I'll take that. And I think that's what Jeff Hathley and company see in Malik. And, you know, he also comes at the right price.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Something to remember. Four of the last seven Super Bowls, a team has made the Super Bowl that did not make the playoffs the previous year, last year, both the Seahawks and the Patriots. didn't make the playoffs the previous year. In fact, the Patriots were awful and made the Super Bowl. So, you know, you think it's crazy. I think the Raiders are absolutely fascinating. I think they've nailed free agency. Tyler Linderbaum, Naler the wide receiver, re-signing Stokes, just a lot of, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:17 we can put them up for our TV audience, just a lot of little improvements. And now they have two first round picks. I would not be shocked. So they went and got Tyler Linderbom at center. They have JPJ who they drafted out of Oregon at right guard. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't draft the Penn State Guard with their second first round pick the 14th pick and just get their guard center guard set for the next five years.
Starting point is 00:38:43 That's what the Bears did. I wouldn't be surprised that what's really fascinating about the Raiders is that second first round pick, number 14. And if you look at who falls there, it would be the second best corner, second best wide receiver, which they need. So what the Raiders need to help Fernando Mendoza is very available at that 14th pick. Well, this three, could say what you want about this draft, but I'm just fascinated in the teams.
Starting point is 00:39:20 I think for the first time and a long time, I am watching some of these dreadful. teams over the last 10 years drafting, and I think they could make massive jumps. I think the Raiders and the Giants and the Titans are all interesting teams to keep your eye on. Interesting. Regarding the Titans, we'll start with them at four. So I'm sure you saw they got Wandale Robinson, right? Brian Daibel gets a guy he coached last year. He's a solid number two. No, Giants tried to keep him. They like him. They did. Yeah, he looked good last year when neighbors went down. Here's the thing. The Titans don't have a one. Calvin Ridley, it seems like Read between the lines, it looks like he's gone.
Starting point is 00:39:56 My guess is the Titans are really looking at the kid from Ohio State, Carnell Tate, at four. So if they take him, what do the Giants do at five, Colin? They just picked up likely. Right tackle. Interesting. So Jeremiah Love then is still on the board. The Browns, I can't imagine that analytically based front office is going running back at six.
Starting point is 00:40:16 So that's why I think Daniel Jeremiah had seven. Giants are interesting. It's not a good tight end draft. So the Giants go out and get the tight end lively from the Ravens. It is a good offensive tackle draft. Well, what do the Giants need? A tackle. So this is setting up nicely for the Giants.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Their big need is a right tackle and a tight end offensively. Well, they just bought the tight end. And tight end's a weird position where even if you're a good tight end out of college, now Loveland and Warren were exceptional out of college. Now, Loveland and Warren were exceptional out of college. college. Well, Kay and Sadiq, the Oregon kid is good, right? I mean, I don't think he's going to go.
Starting point is 00:40:56 He won't go five. I think he ends up going. I think the Ravens end up, well, they gave up their first round pick, so they're not getting him. They lost two tight ends, by the way. Colar is going to the Chargers, and Mark Andrews is their only tight end, and he's getting a little long in the tooth after losing likely to the Giants. I could see the Giants either taking.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Spencer Fennell from Utah. I could absolutely see that. Or there's two or three offensive tackles late first round, another one from Utah. I could see the giant. I've said this before. I can see the Giants trading down. Well, yeah, but who's trading up? What are you going up to 5'4?
Starting point is 00:41:39 You've beaten the Browns to, like, this isn't a great trade-up draft except for Jeremiah Love. If somebody, yeah, so I'm saying, if somebody really wants Jeremiah Love. I mean, there isn't, I don't think you trade up for a receiver in the top second. No, no, no, no. Even a running back feels like a stretch. But if he's your last piece to the puzzle, let's the Raiders got Gentie. He wasn't the last piece.
Starting point is 00:42:02 That was a bad pick at the time, right? Well, the Giants are going to, and this is what the Bears did, they're going to try to make life easier for Jackson Dart. So Neighbors is a good receiver, but he gets dinged up. I could see the Giants saying, let's get Carnell Tate. So lively from the Ravens, Carnell Tate, Neighbors comes back, and then with their second pick, good tackle draft. The Giants eventually go get a tackle. When are you going to do a new next
Starting point is 00:42:25 mock draft? But this week or probably wait till two weeks from now? No, no, no. Because, I mean, we're still waiting on Kyler Murray. There's a lot of guys still out there. Not changing anything. What do you mean? You don't think he's better than Tua and Gino Smith and they're off the board? Yeah, but those guys aren't, you know, I mean, come on. By the way, did you see Arizona is good rolling with Jacoby Brissette and some other guy? I mean, Kyler not having a market is a shocker. That was your boy. You guys are hanging out of UFC fights. If you have commitment issues, and that's, that's Kyler, that scares off a lot of NFL general managers.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Hey, guys, it's us and the Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it.
Starting point is 00:43:17 We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. but, you know, tired and sick, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
