It's the hurt, wherever you may be and however you may be listening. Appreciate you stopping by today. This is just a riot. JMAX's joining us. So Diana Rusini, a very respected reporter for ESPN, it does terrific work. Broke the story. It was not handed to her by Aaron Rogers,

nor was it handed to her by the Green Bay Packers. My guess is the New York Jets leaked this to let their fan base and the media in New York know what they're going through. Everybody now is banging on the Jets, make it happen, pull the trigger. The Jets are like, you think this is easy? This is what we're up against. And this is what we predicted two hours ago on the show.

We said a story came out. The Jets were trying to make a deal for Alan Lazzard. and I had predicted two hours ago that Aaron's given them a list of boxes, check them, check them, check them, fulfill them. Well, now we find out the list, all of it. Alan Lazard, you could make an argument for. He's got some NFL legs. But the tweet is, Aaron has provided the Jets, as we predicted, with a wish list of free agents to acquire. It includes Randall Cobb, who had 34 catches last year, 28 the year before that.

It's over. they'll have to overspend for a guy that can't really play. Mercedes-Lewis blocking tight end. Odell Beckham wants $20 million a year, and Alan Lazzard, who I'd pay, but he's a number three to a number four receiver. He's a, you know, I wouldn't mind having Alan Lazzard on my team. But again, if I force you to get him, Green Bay, see, Green Bay now knows this. So Green Bay is going to say, what are you giving us for this stuff?

Right. Green Bay is laughing their butt off on this stuff. So you want Alan Lazzar. You want this, you want that. All right. This reminds me when, if you're going to leave a company, keep it private. When Carmelo Anthony telegraphed wanting to go to the Knicks, it forced the Knicks to have to give the Denver Nuggets all sorts of picks.

What happened? Carmelo Anthony ended up with the Knicks and he was a chandelier all by himself in a mansion. They didn't have anything around him. LeBron's done this multiple times where this is what I want in Los Angeles. You know, that's why the Lakers feel like they never have enough picks or enough bodies because he made demands. Now, Tom Brady also did it in Tampa where he said, get me Gronk and A, B, and Leonard Fernette, get me a back.

By the way, Tampa did need a back and they were disappointed with Cameron Brate, O.J. Howard. Gronk had playoff experience. he was always sort of the, if you will, the binky for Tom Brady. He was the comfort. So Gronk absolutely provided something for New England. It wasn't just that he was a guy in the room. He was good in the red zone, good blocker, big situational plays in Tampa for Tom. And Antonio Brown had a Super Bowl catch.

But I mean, Randall Cobb, and again, probably the nicest guy in the world, you're getting 20 catches a year. He's not separating in the NFC. and the AFC is significantly more talented with better teams. Odell Beckham, Mercedes-Louis, Alan Lazart. So O'Dell Beckham to New York again, that'd be a circus. You're not only bringing O'Dell Beckham and you're bringing a circus to town. Last time he was in New York, it was just a mess by the time he left. So this doesn't work.

If I'm the Jets, this doesn't work at all. I'm releasing this and saying, this is what we're dealing with. So when, as you said, Jason, when the Jets back out of this, if they did, They're going to get defended tomorrow in the New York Post. They're going to get defended tomorrow on WFAN. They're going to get defended in the New York Daily News. Their fans are going to go to their Reddit boards and their message boards and say, this is absurd.

The Jets are releasing this. I always say it's not just what was released. Why was it released and who released it? This feels like the Jets are like, folks, this is what we're dealing with. And they're going to back out. And I don't know what their plans are. Lamar Jackson's interesting. I don't think I'd do that.

again, I don't think it's the end. The Jets haven't made the playoffs in our 11, 12 years, something like that. Tank and go get Caleb Williams or Drake May, USC North Carolina. This division now has Josh Allen. If you're in a division with Mahomes, Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, you got to go big. You got to swing big. How do you get one of those two great quarterbacks next year?

You get bad. Seems like it's, you know, now what I would consider doing, because I do think the Jets right now roster-wise are capable of winning games, I would call New England on Mac Jones because Belichick can withstand going 0 and 17 and keeping his job. Belichick's like, you know, all these teams are a year ahead of scouting. So forget this draft. Everybody knows who the best players are. You know, I talk to my GM buddies. They are two years ahead of this stuff. If I know, if you and I are talking about Caleb Williams and Drake May, everybody is.

So Belichick's like, listen, why did the Patriots just let go of Jacobi Myers and their first or second best tied end? If New England starts moving off pieces, I always take, I would outside, there's six teams in the NFL that should never take a call in a quarterback. Kansas City and Mahomes. Don't pick, don't pick up the phone. Cincinnati Borough, Baltimore, no, no, Buffalo, Josh Allen, Chargers, Justin Herbert, Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence. and I'd say Philadelphia and Jalen Hurts. Don't pick up the phone. Everybody else in this league, somebody calls about your quarterback, take the call.

Here's another little tell. So Adam Schaefter put out a tweet, Colin, about 45 minutes ago saying Packers veteran free agent tight end, Mercedes-Lewis has drawn interest from, among others, the Jets and Raiders. We can see through that very easily. That's Schaefter. Shefter doing the bidding of Mercedes-Lewis and his agent. the Jets, we're not paying for this guy.

Mercedes-Luiss, I need to get paid if I'm moving to New York and you drive up the price. Let's act like there's interest elsewhere. Oh, the Raiders, they want Mercedes-Louis too. Jets, you got to ante up. Jets are saying no. I like how it seems like the Jets are drawing a hard line. Listen, we want you, Aaron Rogers.

We got a pretty damn good roster. We want a lot of games with Zach Wilson, Chris Trevler, Joe Flacco, Mike White. We want a lot of games last year. We're in the playoffs until late December. We need you, Aaron Rogers. No thanks on Randall Cobb. I know you want your binky.

We don't really want him. Alan Lazard is nice. He's not better than our guys in Corey Davis and certainly not better than Garrett Wilson. This Jets locker room, I would hope, internally the leader, Saus Gardner, I know he's young, are pushing back, talking to the front office,

hey guys, you make all the decisions, I get it, but listen, we got a damn good team. We're not that hard up for Aaron. Also, to get Aaron, you're going to have to give up draft capital. Yeah. You have to give up two first round picks, maybe. So now I'm incurring in the AFC

in a good division. I'm incurring players past their prime, overpaying for him, giving you draft capital, and Aaron's only guarantee is I'll play this year. We don't even know if he's committed to the OTAs and off-season program. We don't know that. Last Friday, when I filled in, someone told me that Rogers has agreed to some speaking at a philosophy, contra and psychedelic conference, whatever it is, in June. Might coincide with OTAs. I don't know. We'll see. Maybe Rogers will show up or maybe not. Colin, the Jets need to walk away as soon as possible. He is back to being Green Bay's problem, not our mess. That's got to be the move. You and I agree now. Finally. No, no. If this is the reality, and I have no reason to believe

Diana Rusini would, I was trying to, so yesterday, somebody asked me about the Tray Wingo tweet that it was a done deal. Somebody asked me about that. And I said, I don't know Tray Wing. I mean, I know Trey, but I don't know that well. I said, my guess is Trey Wingo's a big golfer. Aaron's a big golfer that at some point, potentially, they had a celebrity golf event together. Trey hosted it. Aaron was there. And they built a relationship. I think it's very possible.

And he's dropped some things to him. That was my guess. But I don't think Trey Wingo's just making stuff up. He doesn't try to break stories maybe once a year. And he's usually right. So he's not making it up. So somebody told Trey that he wouldn't go out there just make stuff up. So my guess is it's somebody from the Aaron Rogers camp because he had something on Aaron about a week or two ago and he was right on that.

He's not going to make stuff up. Why would you make stuff up? He doesn't need the money. He doesn't need the fame. So somebody leaked it to him. My guess on the Aaron's side, and it probably felt like a done deal. And then they had a disagreement. The Jets and the Aaron Rogers camp.

And the Jets said, no, Aaron, we can't do that. Aaron pushed more. Jets said no. And now the Jets said, okay, here's what he's asking to make Aaron look ridiculous. It's just reasonable. Is this a reasonable ask? No, it's not. These are not reasonable asks.

Now, Alan Lazzard, we'll talk about it. Mercedes, I'm not paying you a lot, but I'll take a blocking tight end. I'll absolutely take a blocking. Mercedes is not a target. Great blocking tight end. I'd take that. But this is, who. It feels like a hostage crisis.

Aaron Rogers is as the jets in a bad spot. Aaron's a smart guy. What you don't want to do is the Carmelo Anthony move. Oh, yeah. You don't want to go somewhere and take away assets. That's not what you want to do. What you want to do is go to Green Bay and say, listen, I want to go to the Jets. Is it possible?

I always think when you leave companies, this is my psychology. When I left ESPN, I wanted them a year later to go, crap, what did we do? And they called me. That was the win. It didn't matter. I wanted them to regret it a year later. If I left tomorrow for Fox, it wouldn't be because I don't like people. Something happened or, but don't you want to?

If you leave a relationship for 15 years, the win isn't seeing them lose. I don't root against anybody I've ever worked for. That's awful. But I do hope in a year, the person goes, we probably shouldn't have done that. We kind of miss him here. Like, I'm Aaron. I want Green Bay to miss me a little. right like they're doing him green errands doing the packers a solid he looks ridiculous so if he leaves

tomorrow packer fans are like good riddance this is nonsense he's doing makes green bay look incredibly reasonable and functional he's doing that you think green bay misses this green bay is like good riddance i always think if you leave somewhere don't root against the people you leave leave on such good terms with such warm feelings that a year later they bump into you and go, Hey man, I can't say this publicly, but we really miss you. That's the win. Don't root against people.

Root for yourself and root for people to miss you. That's the win in this. This makes Green Bay feel like they are laughing their butt off in their room right now going, this is the nonsense we're dealing with. You could say laughing, but it's going to turn to tears pretty soon if the Jets back out. and now the Packers, what do they do? Hey, Aaron will, do they take them back? I wonder if in the next hour that Aaron, because I'm not watching the other networks, obviously,

Aaron's getting crushed right now, I would imagine everywhere. Does Aaron, whose very thin skin, rabbit ears, watch it and then pulls back on this stuff and signs with the Jets? Because the Jets are doing this a little bit as a Hail Mary, like we're at Witt's End. so the Jets release it a little bit as a Hail Mary meaning guys we may be down to a 20% chance to get him this will make him look bad

the Jets smart enough to know the media is going to side with us clobber Aaron Aaron's going to watch it rabbit ears thin skin Aaron that's his history Aaron's going to pull back and go okay I'm in you sure he's going to be in when he doesn't get any of the things he wanted no I'm saying is he I don't know what's happening in other networks please don't watch them if you do patronize our sponsors.

The point being, though, he's going to get crushed right now on every network. Because this is silly. Aaron hears it, scales back in his demands. The only way you'd release this if you think it can help you. I mean, if you're out of the deal already, you're either doing this for two reasons. You're going to pass and you just want everybody to know why you're passing, or to hail Mary to make Aaron come to grips with reality how unrealistic he and his people are And my guess is it's the second one that they still think they have a chance with Aaron,

but it's a wake-up call to Aaron. But does Aaron want to go to New York still now that the Jets have leaked this? Why would I want to go there? They don't want my guys and they're telling the media I made all these demands. Screw these Jets. Oh, they don't know anything. Does he turn tail and go back to Green Bay? Is he wanted in Green Bay?

I'm going to the Packers. I don't know what the result of this is, but that's going to have repercussions. Because it embarrasses Aaron Rogers. Colin, we're really close to the Jets and Packers. Nobody, nobody wanting Aaron. What are they saying right now on Twitter? I don't, I don't know. Are they, I would think, Aaron.

Somebody leaks this tour, who? Aaron has provided the Jets with a wish list of free agents.

He would like them to target and acquire. It includes Randall Cobb, Alan Lazard, a big receiver, Mercedes-Louis, and O'Dell Beckham. Aaron leaked it. Here's my theory. That's your theory. Here's why. Aaron leaked it. Because the deal, as Trey Wingo speculated, is very close to done.

Aaron's buddies, really good buddies, are Randall Cobb, Mercedes-Lewis, and he's got a friendship with Odell Beckham. They both live here in L.A. Aaron's got a place in Malibu, Bell. air for, I think, Odell or Beverly Hills. So Aaron leaks it. So when the deal gets done, Aaron doesn't lose friends.

Eric can say, Aaron Rogers can say, dude, he can go to Randall Cobb, Mercedes, and Odell Beckham, and say, I tried to get you in. It was reported. Now, Lazard is somebody, I do believe the Jets. He's a big receiver. He can play for a lot of teams. He's not a one or a two, but he's a big receiver.

So Aaron, who, by the way, you were in a charity event with this weekend, Aaron leaks it, so when he signs with the Jets, he at least has cover to his guys, to his boys. Hey, I tried to bring in the Jets wouldn't budge. I think that's nonsense. What? I thought it was amazing. I think that's the worst theory.

I heard a long time. Who leaked it? I don't know who leaked it. I don't know. Diana's not making it up. What was that? Like a minute? Was that a minute right there?

that you did for the theory, that theory is nonsense. Who do you think? I don't know, but I don't think. What do you make of that demand? I think that demand is silly to. Maybe he did have a conversation, but I don't believe that Aaron straight up provided a list of demands, right?

A list of players that I need to have or we need to try to get so I can come to the Jets. Or to make them feel good like, hey, I try to get you guys. Like, no, you know, it's, As you just mentioned, I was with Aaron this weekend at a we played a charity football game where I ended up pulling both hamstrings. At least you have two hamstrings. At least I don't anymore. But his energy there is like he was so stress-free and just chilling, not worried about the situation.

I didn't ask him any questions because I'm sure he was getting, but Brandon Marshall was there bombarding him with questions because that's, you know, Brandon. And I don't know, I just, he just looked real. chill and relax. And so I'm thinking like all this stuff, especially we talked yesterday on the show, um, what I show how he's holding teams hostage and all this stuff. And I'm just like, he's in a, he's in a situation very few athletes ever get to be in where he can, he controls his own destiny, wherever he wants to go, you know, and if he wants, but, but these are all really difficult decisions in terms of, sure, yeah, if he's staying in green, but he gets 50 million dollars, you know, or 60, whatever it is, but does he, does he, does he want to stay there?

That's for him. He's at the point of his career where he's trying to figure out. Does he want to go to a new challenge where it's unknown with the Jets? Or does he shut it down and retire? Which is probably the most difficult decision, you know, for most athletes. So I'm kind of like, man, like I'm happy that he's in a position where he can do whatever he needs to do. Like I'm not even chirping about it. Usually, though, I've left a couple of times. When you leave a relationship, business or personal, you go somewhere where they provide you with something

that's missing. For sure. So what is green? He's not seeking money. He's not seeking fame. He's got plenty of that. He's not faming seeking respect. Green Bay respects him. They're tired of him, but they respect him. What do they provide? They don't give him privacy, an easier division, an easier conference, more money, fame. What are the jets providing him that Green Bay isn't? Just a new challenge. Okay. That's pretty much what it is. That's pretty much what it is. I look at that when, you know, why would Brady leave and go to Tampa? Because he wanted more control of the offense, and he got it. Yeah, and he had a new challenge for him.

Same thing. Payton, when he went to Denver, he brought everything over to Denver. It was a new challenge. It was something different because the previous organization, well, Indy wanted to move on anyway from him. So that's how I see it. He's in the point where he could not play another down, and he's the first bout, Hall of Fame or no question. So in this point, he's just adding to whatever he has. So I just see him.

If he goes there, it's for a new challenge, but he has three difficult decisions to figure out, or three options that are difficult. What would you do? If you had 200 million in the bank, not married, no kids, to different life than New York. Yeah, I would probably go to New York. Wow. I probably would. It's a circus.

Weird ownership, coach on the hot seat. Perfect. Meditate in a hurricane. Let's do it. Wow. Just because if I'm measuring my. myself up and I'm like, look, like I want to, you know, if you're a Montana fan, he went and played for Kansas City, you know, and like I mentioned, the O2 quarterback.

Peyton got a ring and Brady got a ring and Stafford got a ring. Yeah, let me, let me, especially in recent years. Right. Let me, let me go see. What, um, you had an agent, I guess, your entire career. Yes. Um, I have said, with all due respect to Lamar's family, I think having an agent protection. you, meaning no other teams are going to badmouth you, even if they don't like you, because agents have lots of clients, and those teams may want the clients. If your mom's representing you, the minute you hear about Lamar and money, teams went public, hard pass, not interested.

It was like, that was almost personal. Do you think it's time that Lamar goes, I got to get an agent? I mean, he's obviously, he's not very trusting. Right. A lot of people aren't trusting. I get that. I mean, a lot of people in this country did not trust the vaccine that didn't trust our government. I understand. A lot of people are like, I'm not giving somebody 10% or 8% of my money. But worded impasse here, where do you go with that? Yeah. I mean, I think in my case, now, especially running, you know, running a business, like I had to go and get, you know, a business attorney or, you know, a business advisor or all these people who understand the legalities of stuff so that I am. protect in some certain way. So him getting an agent, you know, would help. He can just negotiate the

fee. He doesn't have to give the full three or whatever it is. He can, hey, point five or just handle this free agency. He can set the terms of what he wants. So yeah, I can see in that situation because perhaps something probably could have gotten done now. They can't talk until tomorrow, I believe. Yeah. Wednesday. So, but again, he's, he's in a unique situation because he is who he is. You know, one of the top quarterbacks in the league. I know people mentioned his MVP's, and he's a once-in-a-decade type of quarterback. There's no question about that. All right.

Good news for a New York football team. Breaking news. The Raiders are trading tight-end Darren Waller, stud to the Giants of New York, third-round pick per Schefter. So for the record, that's huge. Oh, no, he'll be a 65-to-75 catch guy, half a dozen touchdowns. he's a great play outside of Travis Kelsey most talented tied-in in football he is I saw him at the Super Bowl that's a big team he was a defensive end yeah he is jacked but don't think that is a kiddos in there that is a great get for the Giants third round pick that's massive there's not a guy in the

third round is talented as Darren Waller I can say that well yeah no no no it's not no it's not that's a good get for them good for Daniel Jones got some money you got a tight end let's go not you're a former giant I am a former giant I am a former former giant. I love the Giants. Love them? Yes. They didn't end badly? Did not. If anything, they saved my career. Okay. All right. So that feels like a big deal.

Darren Waller, Giants, offensive piece. Just, again, he's, and he's going to, I think their training, their training staff got an A-plus in terms of keeping guys healthy. Yeah. So, yeah, he's good. I like that. Yeah, so the Bears, now don't the Raiders have. have Moreau. He is the backup tight end. He's a pretty capable guy. And they had to cut some salary here because they're, you know, they brought in Garotte.

They're pretty stacked offensively. How do you think, you know, we all kind of roll our eyes at Jimmy GQ, but what do you make of him in the Raiders? Does it matter in that division? Or is it just all window dressing? It won't matter. How do you view Jimmy Garoppolo? Yeah, I don't see. So I view Jimmy, like,

I think he finally gets to, I think, take a deep breath and breathe again. you know, because in Sanfran, every year it was in question. You know, either his health or getting another quarterback or... Super Bowl run. Yeah, or not finishing the deal, you know. And so he's now in a situation where, obviously, the Raiders can still go get a quarterback. You know, there's nothing is...

Devante has a running back that they stood in pay yet and Josh Jacobs. So I like it for him. They also picked up Jacobi Myers. So they have Hunter Renfro, Josh Jacobs, Jacob, Jacob, and DeVante Adams. And a good, in a more than solid O line. Right. That's still a really good set of players.

Right. And an offense where he's, you know, probably going to push it more. Because I felt like he was, he had a lot around him in terms of coaching. and defense and, you know, the sophisticated run game where he did what he had to do to get the 49ers way to need to go. I think now he's in a situation where, you know,

he'll be able to push the ball ball ball down the field, and it won't be, it's not that type of offense that Shanahan is running. Wow. So today, Aaron Rogers, what's your guess? Today? Right now, what is your guess? First of all. That nothing happens.

You would know fundamentally if he couldn't play a leg. For sure. You would also know if he's great. If he was great, Aaron would already be gone. You wouldn't have signed the extension. If you thought he was like, great.

If he was great, I don't know if Aaron would already be gone because Aaron was still great. I think the drama. If you thought he was Mahomes, Burrow, Josh Allen Lamar. In terms of what? Talent, Jordan Love. You would have moved. Aaron last year. You wouldn't assign him to that extension. You'd get the cheap kid who's Mahomes. So we know he's not that. We know he's not Trevor Lawrence. We also know he's not Zach Wilson. You don't just move on from Aaron. You don't just move on from Aaron easily. Well, if he's great, you do. Yeah, I mean, you moved off Peyton Manning because of Andrew Luck. They were like, see you. He had neck surgery. Well, he was all, he was still viable. If you knew you had a

borough, you'd have moved off Aaron a year ago. So we'd let's just say he ain't top six, but you also know he's not Zach Wilson, or you wouldn't make the move. So the question is, is he a B minus or an A minus? If he's in the middle, cousins, Dak. Well, for a team to, like, want to reset their franchise for a 38, 39-year-old quarterback, then he has something. Like, I was literally a year ago, honestly, not today, but February last year, I was at a party, and he just, he walked in, he just won MVP.

Like, he just won it. I'm seeing here, Giants fans. Hey, he's missed 14 games, Darren Waller in the last two seasons. It's been a little banged up. No, he is. He'll need another tight end, but he's a spectacular matchup problem. Yes.

So he is just a really, he is a lot like Travis Kelsey. He just linebackers can't keep up with him. He's too big for secondary guys. Tremendous talent. Probably going to give you 14 games, 13 games. All right, but I'd love to have him on my team. A third round pick for a spectacular. talent, thank you. And you can see what Brian Dable is doing here. They had a good kid named

Bellinger last year, who was solid, but... Tell me this. He had a bad injury. They have no receivers Colin. Isn't this the pick they got for Cadarius Tony? Correct. The 100th pick overall. That feels like a heist. I mean, last year, the Packers were offering a second round pick for Waller and the deal didn't get done. So now the Giants get him for a three pains me that the Giants are doing good things as a Jets fan. But Brian Dable, like this is a good hit. They're going to do a lot of two tight end sets next year. Sequin's back. Daniel Raiders also like two tight-end sets, so they may draft one. I was just told that the Raiders have contacted Mercedes-Lewes.

So maybe Foster Moreau, the one tight end, and then they would maybe add Mercedes. And then everybody likes Mercedes because he's a blocking tight end, and everybody in the red zone wants a blocking tight-end. Like a good locker room guy, too. Great high- IQ. Everybody likes him. poke around with your Rams guys. I'm hearing that the Rams were like doing cartwheels that Jalen Ramsey's out of the locker room. Apparently, he was having a bad influence on some of the young players. Yes, this was what Jacksonville felt.

Ramsey's a great talent. But he's not Aaron Donald or Cooper Cup. He's not a core piece. Like an Andrew Whitworth, Aaron Donald, Cooper Cup. There are core pieces on every franchise. Like for the Raiders, like DeVonti Adams, that's a core piece. That's a grown-up. That's somebody, Colton Miller, Max Crosby,

underdog, overachiever, those are core pieces. A lot of guys are just talented. You can lose them. You know, we've said this before. Chemistry matters, fit matters, and Jalen Ramsey is just sort of a hired talent, but he's never going to be at the center of your culture. Ramsey and Tyreek Hill is an interesting locker room in Miami. Talent, but questions.

All right, let's move on. LeBron James. He's coming back from that foot injury. Here he is shooting free throws. Look at that. He's out of the working boot or the walking boot. LeBron's looking good, man. First on-court activity since the injury.

He also lifted and did rehab before shoot-around. Yeah, but he just got the boot off, so he can't play. He's not ready yet. Probably still at least a week away. No, their schedule, they get a break. They get the Rockets twice, Oklahoma City. They get the Pelicans, I think, tonight. This is a huge game.

Huge game. They're tied. Yeah, so big game tonight in New Orleans, I think. Anthony Davis needs a kitchen sink like a 40-20 in his old home. home. They can't lose this game. They got a lot of breaks. They get the Suns twice. Katie's out. They get Oklahoma City. They get the Rockets twice, the Jazz twice. A lot of winnable games for them. They get the Bulls twice. I think they get Orlando, I'm guessing, but I think they get an Orlando game. So the Lakers in their remaining games could absolutely win 10 of them. Let's also remember it's the Lakers. Then they're not that talented right now,

Colin. They just locked to the Knicks. Next up. Clippers, how about the paper clips? You know, they want our big losing stream. streak. After adding Russell Westbrook, they lost five straight. He averaged 16 points per game during that stretch and 53% shooting. Not bad numbers, but you got to watch the game to see, like in the flow, he's doing crazy things. He's not setting screens. However, Paul George really defended his guy, Russell Westbrook. In the beginning, it was tough because we got Russ and everything that was surrounding Russ at the time. And then we go on this losing streak and so of course it was quick for everyone to try to blame Russ for it which was

stupid because you know Russ honestly was playing unbelievable so it was tough to go through it while we were struggling with getting wins yeah I love Paul George but I think I've said before productivity with Russ good but he's got bad hands he's rough on you situationally there are spaces for him to play I don't want him late in games late in quarters late in halves. But he is productive. He eats minutes. He plays fast. He can get your points. Um, but most of his issues are hand issues. You've got kind of not a great shooter. Doesn't finish soft. Being generous. I mean, yeah, he's just, he can, he plays hard, right? He's going to go after rebounds. Super hard. He plays as hard as anybody. But some of the IQ stuff on the court is questionable,

bad passes. He just, he tends to, he's got a style. And his style is going full blast. And in, There are moments. He had some moments with the Lakers that he'll have these four-and-five-minute moments where he drops eight points and you're like, we needed it. Everybody's got their hands on their hips and Russ is out there flying past people. But the Lakers, it should be noted, have played better since his departure. They have. The on-court chemistry, everything's a little smoother with the Lakers. All right. Final story.

Obviously, NFL free agency is going bonkers. We're just going to rattle off some moves. Atlanta Falcons added Jesse Bates in the second year. very good player and Taylor Heineke, which we talked about. Minnesota linebacker Eric Kendricks going to the Chargers coming out here. Maybe they can finally find a middle linebacker who tackles. Buffalo Bills add Connor McGovern from the Cowboys. Dallas offensive line.

I need to look at it, but I'm taking a little step back, Colin. I don't think they ever loved Connor McGover. Left tackle situations up in the air. I mean, they got some questions. Patrick Peterson, who was incredible last season, is going to Pittsburgh, and Jimmy Ward and Robert Woods are going to Houston. for paychecks and a lot of losses? Well, Jimmy Ward and Robert Woods are professional, hardworking, mature football players,

and Houston needs some of that. They need to get that locker room right, the culture right. So I like those. For Texans, I like those pickups. Woods was on some winning teams with the Rams. He blocks, third down, respect. He had a major injury. He hasn't totally come back from it.

He's not going to run past anybody, but he's a good, respected veteran who'll block on the outside. Ward, obviously, knowing DeMico Ryan's well, should be good. The question still is with Houston, like what are they doing at quarterback? Is it Bryce Young number two? Yes. So Richardson won,

that we talked about earlier, probably. I know we wouldn't do it, but we think that's what'll happen. C.J. Stroud goes to the Colts at four. That's not bad. Jalen Carter goes three, and that means it, who's drafting five? Seattle?

I think it's Seattle 5, Detroit 6. Seattle would take, how lucky would this be? Will Anderson. They need an edge. And Detroit, I'll just, I'll throw this guy out there. No.

I think Christian Gonzalez is going to go top six. The corner from Oregon. I think he's, I think the combine, he's the one guy that came out of the combine that was jaw-dropping. And what does Detroit need?

A corner. They added Cam Sutton from Pittsburgh, but they still have Akuta, who they're not loving because he had the injury, hasn't played great. I still like a quarterback. Seattle, you know,

the Chargers, he plays the patient game doesn't go up that's gotten them derwin james rishon slater and justin herbert so the patient game works if seattle just says we're just going to sit here they're going to end up getting the edge rusher they want because seattle wants an edge rusher they just signed another defensive lineman from the broncos that's right defensive tackle that's draymont jones i believe yeah with shelby harris last year so they don't have a need now for a jalen Carter to that level. So what Seattle needs is a center. They're not going to draft a center. I think they need another receiver, another corner, but what they really need is an edge

rusher. So Seattle is going to end up getting arguably a month ago the best player in the draft. They're going to get him at five. There was talk a year ago. Will Anderson could go number one overall. And by the way, had he gone number one, certainly an argument to be made. He's in the top two or three players. So Seattle just sitting back with all those picks, two firsts, two seconds, two fifths, Seattle, two fourths, Seattle sitting back off that Russell Wilson trade may get their number one pick by sitting at five. I think we agree you want draft capital. You don't want to be giving up draft picks. That's why there's jets exchange for Aaron Rogers. You mentioned a first. I'd say there's no way. The Jets are bidding against nobody, Colin. I would start right now,

third round pick for Aaron Rogers. I'm not giving you a second. What are you going to do? What are the Packers going to do? Literally. They have no choice.
