They do feel different. You went in a couple of times with the Ravens as favorites probably. Did it feel differently than a couple of times with the Bengals?

It may have been underdogs. Does it feel different? being favored. I mean, Baltimore games are mostly power, defense. Baltimore is usually favored in playoff games, that it feel different. Depending on what side of the ball of the strength of your team, the energy of it, you practice different. You practice harder. You're more aware. Like, you're not going to let somebody just BS practice during a week of playoffs. Doubt if that ever happens. But if it does, if you're a leader on a team, you're just not going for it. So you do prepare differently. Now when it's time to play, you're going to play hard regardless, but your

preparation and your attention to details is completely different. So you're a bengal through and through. You loved your organization. They were a different organization. Now the young, there's daughters in the organization. We were talking during the break in their 20s, really changing just philosophically. They're spending money. Cincinnati's in an interesting spot where I think the organization feels the DeMarne Hamlin situation was obviously unique. The NFL kind of has to make a lot of decisions. game day after home field. I think Cincinnati deep down the organization

feels like they got a little hose by the league. Is that fair? Man, hose, it's like an umpire calling a pitch of striking. It's another batters box. Like, they got screwed big time. They're playing Buffalo. And again, what you said about DeBarr Hamlet, very unfortunate and it's a unique situation.

The Bengals look like they were on the way to winning that game. They led and they were driving. And if that's the case, this playoff game is in Cincinnati, not in Buffalo. And so if you're going to coin flip the division champ, which would have been the Bengals had they lost to Baltimore in the regular season, why couldn't this game be on a neutral field or at worst in Cincinnati? It should not be in Buffalo.

Yeah. And so if I'm the Bengals, I don't like that. How worried are you, though? T.J. Cluster injuries O-line, it does feel like it takes out the deep ball of the offense. You don't have time to throw. That's what worries me. It concerns me.

It does, but Jackson Carmen will be the left tackle. He was drafted fairly high out of Clemson. Yeah, he was a great college. He played out a high level in college. And so he's a backup. I was once a backup. And so if you want to become a starter, let's go make it happen. You get opportunities, and we can sit up here and say, oh, man, Buffalo has an advantage.

But if Jackson Carmen has plans on making a name, for himself in the National Football League. It starts this weekend. Let us say you can't do this and then you go show us. You can do that. Wasn't he a high draft pitch? Yes, he was. He was second round pick came in as a guard.

So he's not some seventh round. No. He's supposed to start in the league. He should be a starter. And so here's your opportunity. Go do something with it. And if he can't, it's going to be tough for the Bengals. One of the things I like about Cincinnati is they really can do everything.

They're good situationally. They can run the ball. when Mixon got hurt, they went to a backup. He was terrific. Jamar Chase Smith starts. T. Higgins stepped up. They were my favorite team. The last six weeks, I had him number one.

And I did think they were uniquely built to beat Kansas City. Buffalo's fascinating. They bail on the run. If you take Josh Allen's rushing yards out, they're 30th in the league rushing. Buffalo's, I don't even know what to comp it to. I always use the Mike Tyson analogy. Their knockout punch is great. But in the later career, Mike had no jab.

Can they box you? And they don't. And I watched Miami, the last two times Miami went to Buffalo, outcoached them outplayed them, didn't have the guys. I don't know. Do you think, well, how do you view Buffalo? I like Buffalo. I think Josh Allen is, I don't think, I know,

Josh Allen is one of the best competitors in the league. But offensively, Stefan Diggs is his constant. He's going to show up every game. Now, will Gabe Davis show up? Will Dawson Knox show up? That's right. You don't know.

And that's the key. The Bengals didn't play particularly well last week against the Ravens. They didn't play well. Joe didn't play great. Jamar dropped a couple passes. It's also a divisional game. It's the third time. And so when you're a really good player,

you normally don't play back-to-back games average. And so I look to see Jamar and Joe play a better game because they didn't play well offensively last week. Good players, you don't play two games in a row average. Okay, so Dallas and San Francisco, so I saw a piece of data earlier this year. Everybody the week after they played the Niners, the Niners were so physical.

And, J-Mack, you may know this. The week after teams played San Francisco, it was either they lost 12 straight or didn't cover the spread 12 straight. It was one of those two, meaning they beat the hell out of you. Go to your career. So Dallas, two days less to prep. Now they go to the most physical team. When you played, and often it was Baltimore, but when you played super physical teams, was practice different.

Game, how did you view? Because Dallas is facing. The most physical team in the league. We played the Baltimore Ravens, and we played the Pittsburgh Steelers. As Marvin Lewis would always say, it was a two-chin-strap type of game. And you knew what you were going to get. Defensively, they were going to try to punk you, and they were going to try to out-physical you. And so this game is fascinating because a lot of people, and I love the Niners,

but who have they really beaten? That's the upper echelon team. Who have they? Kansas City blew them out in the second half. Kansas City rolled them. And so defensively, Bosa is outstanding. They don't blitz.

They can get pressure with four. But who have they beaten? Can Brock Purdy play a game Nass, nip and tuck, and continue to scramble. You're not outrunning Michael Parsons. He will chase you down quick. And so, but can Michael Parsons

do any damage on Trent Williams? And so this matchup, It's so fascinating to me. It will be, can Mike McCarthy make the right adjustments? If the Cowboys' offensive line can keep that front four at bay and they have to blitz, the Cowboys will win this game. So Pretty's obviously young. You never went to a playoff game with a second round pick.

Who was the youngest quarterback you ever went to the playoffs with? I mean, it would have to have been Carson, and I believe it was Carson's third year. Okay, and Carson was the first round pick. Carson was the first pick. So was he nervous at all in that game? Oh, I'm sure he had a bit of nervousness. I wouldn't even call it nervousness.

It's just that anxiousness. And this is how you know is when you have pre-game meal, you chew your food, you're eating, and you just find yourself just chewing like you can't swallow. Like you're chewing, you're like, oh, you know, and I'm just not even going to eat right now because you just can't. And so what I would do, and then that happened to me at times,

I would just take a bunch of fruit into the locker room And after halftime, I was good once you hit somebody and I would eat at halftime. But a lot of times, pre-game meal, you couldn't even eat because you had that anxiousness about you. Yeah. So let's segue to the Giants in Philadelphia. Andy Dalton, I think, and Daniel Jones have some comps where they go to a non-traditional power, a TCU Duke. We don't watch a ton of them in college. They're not five-star stuff.

But Andy won the division. Andy had his moments. There was a way I always felt Andy has. had to play. And if he did, he could win. You know, J. Mack and I are kind of cynical on Daniel Jones. He rolled against the Vikings twice. They've already fired their decoordinator. That was a mess. And I just, I have this thing like, I thought he was a reach. I thought, you know, at college at Duke, he didn't blow me away, only saw him a few times. My takeaway is he's going to meet his ceiling this weekend. That's kind of my gut feeling that everything looks different

against Minnesota. You know this. Bad, I mean, the Seahawks defense against Brock Purdy and the Dallas defense, that's two different games. That is a different environment totally. What do you make of the Daniel Jones Renaissance or resurgence? Honestly, Brian Dable was the man. That's how I look at it. Like Josh Allen had this renaissance with Dable and some people would say he's kind of slid back a little bit.

More mistakes. Brian Dable is, he's that great of a coach. when it comes to these quarterbacks and getting them to do the right thing because we had, just last year, they were saying Daniel Jones had to go. Oh, he was a bust. And now they're talking about

what are we going to give them on his second contract? And so I give a lot of this credit to Brian Dable. Now, Daniel Jones has to go out and execute the game plan. A little different with Andy Dalton. I mean, Andy Dalton had A.J. Green and Marvin Jones. And so Daniel Jones is doing great things with guys.

We don't. know, but you play a Minnesota Vikings team that some people say were a bit overrated. I like what he's done. He's athletic, but the Eagles are loaded. The Eagles are good top to bottom. They don't have a weakness. It is interesting with Dayball. As good as Josh Allen is, I do feel like he's regressed, more mistakes.

Jones was done. He's been saved. So that's a head coach. You know, you would think if you get a head coaching job, obviously Nathaniel Hackett wasn't ready, Brian Daibol was. But even with your position coaches, because Daveel saved Daniel Jones, go to all your receiver coaches.

All of them. Is there a, I mean, is there a gap, give me the best receiver coach you had and what, what did he do that others didn't? In the NFL or just period. You could go all of them. Oh, the best receiver coach you ever had was Eric Yarber. No question.

Great recruiter too, right? Not close. Why? He teaches you things that Other coaches can't teach you as like, you'll do something wrong in a game. And a lot of coaches will pause the film and say, why did you do that? If I could pause the game, I could give you an answer. I don't know why I did that. But he would, he understood how to coach you and not over, like a lot of these coaches,

receiver coaches, they don't teach you how to be a better receiver. They teach you football. They teach you the game of football. You don't have enough time in an individual in an offseason to get. better individually. I would say in the NFL, Hugh Jackson was probably my best receiver coach. What is something he did to elevate your game?

It was the belief he showed in me. The confidence that he showed me he had in me. So I felt like even if I made a mistake, I was good. It wasn't going to be. He's going to tell me one thing. And they're going to tell the officer coordinator or the head coach something else. You miss a jumper.

You're on the bench. You didn't feel that at all. He let you be your. yourself. And so you don't, there's not a lot of receiver coaches in the league that can actually coach the position of receiver. You give me a job, Colin, 15 years ago. No, I'm a head coach. I'm a return to favor. Only spot I got open is receiver coach. You got to be that coach. You've been a runnerback coach your whole career. And that happens. All the time. All the time. And that's why when receivers are bust, no, they're not bus. These coaches just can't develop them. Simple.

They know that. Yeah. So I'm just going to, I'll ask you about the game. You give me your winner. Bill's Bengals. The Bengals, baby. Jags Chiefs. I'm going to go with the Jags. Woo! Giant Eagles. Eagles.

Cowboys Niners. Close one. The Niners. Jags. Yeah, I like the way... To throw four interceptions, 27 to zero, and not get down on yourself.

Trevor Lawrence is that dude. He's good. Like, you know how hard that is? You work with him. Yeah, Trevor, man, I worked out with him, go to vacation in the Bahamas this summer. He's out there with all the Jags. Out there for like five days.

Went to the field with him in the Bahamas. We're out in the stadium in the Bahamas. There's running rouse throwing this summer. Yeah, five six. What's he like to catch? Just his leadership, man. It was just like. I met him once.

I told people that I met him. I thought he was 40. He's like a total. His voice is deep. He predict. Jacks like a real adult. We're on the flight, even leaving the Bahamas. We're on the flight back to Atlanta to say, I mean, it's just he doesn't have the weapons that other guys have.

Evan Ingram, in essence, is his favorite target. Yeah. But watch next year when they get Calvin, you can't stop Calvin Ridley one-on-one. Watch what the Jags do next year. That was quietly, one of the great transactions of the year. Calvin Ridley is a one. Is an animal. He's a one.

just kind of quietly one week. We're going to make a little deal for Calvin. Firepower. Now becomes the two. Evan Ingram's your three. They will be. I just like the way they played last week. It's real easy to give up after four turnovers in the first.

No, I'd listen, Kansas City is one of those teams that you often, how many times this year, they struggle? Didn't they with the Texans? They lost to the Colts?

They have bad halves. Remember Malik Willis, like, hung around for 58 minutes. Doug Peterson. Now the coach bringing good quarterback? Oh, it does wonders. Nick Foles beat Brady in the Super Bowl. Trevor Lawrence, a little better than Nick Foles.

You think? All right. What are we starting with here? NFL is already selling tickets for the potential AFC championship game between the Chiefs and Bills in Atlanta. I don't think T.J.'s happy about that. Also unhappy is Joe Mixett,

who voiced his frustrations about those tickets already being available. To be honest, it's disrespectful, but we're not worried about Like I said, we got a game to play on Sunday, right? So you can't count us out. We're going to go out there on Sunday, and, you know, we're going to do it what the hell we've got to do to come back with that dub. Then we're going to see what they're talking about. Is it disrespectful to sell tickets to a potential game that may not even happen?

Well, I think you have to sell tickets. Yeah, right? People need to plan ahead. I think it's a great. tool to use as a motivating factor. I love the fact that Cincinnati players are aware of it. I'm going to tell you something. If the Bengals upset the bills, somebody's getting fired Monday.

It's a coordinator at somebody. You're going to lose to a team missing both tackles and Alex Kappa. If you're Buffalo, you have got to win this game. There's real pressure on the bills. Cincinnati won at Arrowhead last year. you can't beat Cincinnati at home missing three-old linemen, somebody's going to take a fall. I think we'll be talking about that in the next segment.

Next up, what do we have for your? Giants, oh, the G-Men, one of the best seasons they've had in years. Sequin Barclay, career high, 1312 yards in his fifth season, contract year as well. Sequin says he's looking for more than just regular season accolades and hopes to build his legacy in the postseason. You got to do it in both. Regular season, post-season, throughout your whole career.

There's going to be upsets, but you've got to try to be a consistent player. And you want to create a legacy. You look, all the Giants greats they did in the postseason. So, yeah, that's extra motivation. Interesting twist in New York this year, Colin. So Sequin for a while has been Batman and Daniel Jones was robin. Right? Sequin was the guy.

Now it's a shift. It's kind of shifted with Daibol, huh? Well, Isaiah Hodgians. Come on. Settle down. One game. I know. We wouldn't know him if he delivered a pizza

to the studio last week before the game. You're probably right. Yeah. It was a sixth round pick of the bills. It was a good story, though. I think the Giants' story is better than the team. I think the Eagle's story and the team's the same. So Sequin mentioned, you know, continuing, building his legacy.

I don't know. What do you do if you're the Giants? How do you handle Sequan Barclay in an era where running backs are diminished? And, hey, there's some good running backs in this draft. Well, Seekwan Barclay is really valuable with Daniel Jones, so I pay him. But injury history? right i mean come on he's always injured yeah i mean depending on how great your quarterback is that's how valuable the running back is they've got so like christian mccaffrey to the niners right now

is unbelievably valuable i mean you put saquan barclay on the bills or or you know a superstar team it's not the same thing you don't give them in their contract in buffalo right right at buffalo giants have a tough situation if they get blown out this weekend and all their love for daniel jones and then sayquine now a lot of questions yeah i'm fascinated with you I love the draft to begin with. The Giants draft's going to be really interesting. It's going to be a very interesting draft because they have to address the interior of the O-line. They need another corner.

They need a tight end. They need another receiver. They need more weapons. So the problem is if you pay Daniel Jones, you can't go out and spend big money on a receiver. Kenny Gallatin flopped big time. They're not going to pay Daniel Jones big money. The team has the leverage here. The guy was a bust three months ago.

Pre- Thanksgiving. I agree with you. Pre- Thanksgiving. Nobody in New York was into the Daniel Jones thing. I would love, Daveo would never admit this. But could Daibald say, hey, I don't care who you give me. I'm ready. I'll make this guy a star.

I have that much confidence in Daibu. Final story, Colin, Justin Herbert, eligible for a contract extension for the first time this offseason. Your buddy, GM, Tom Telesco, confirmed this week. They plan to have Herbert in L.A. for a long time. Breaking news, obviously. But they have not begun talking to Herbert's camp about a potential deal. They will. We saw Arizona last year with Kyler Murray.

They gave him big money. Yeah. He got hurt. This is not, this is a 6-6-240-pound quarterback. Injuries aren't a concern. The issue with Justin Herbert is he needs support. The defense with a defensive coordinator for the last two years has not been very good. Yeah, I mean, literally he got, didn't he have broken ribs in season and played through it?

He added rib injury. If there's a way to structure it so you could have two more, this offseason and another one where you can build around Herbert. I would do everything. And I'm sure Herbert, he's a smart guy. Herbert's one of the guys you pay early because you don't have any, first of all, he's very good, has overcome bad old lines, even this year because of the injuries,

and you don't have any concern. So I get productivity, no concern of injury. Guys literally hides in L.A. You never see him. You got no drama. That's an easy one to sign early. That's like Joe Burrow in Cincinnati. That's an easy one to sign early, right?

will be all out of dimes. Giants beaten sense less. I just think Philly's almost undervalued here. All we're talking about is Dayball, who's been outstanding? What about Stain Stuyken? The offensive coordinator for the Eagles, Colin. Last year they were a grounded pound attack. They add A.J. Browner, now J. Hertz is an MVP candidate,

top five in like every passing category. And it's like people have forgotten that because of a few bad weeks. There were injury riddled to end the season. Lane Johnson's back. I've got confidence in this offense. Feeling nervous for Daniel Jones and Saquan Barkley. I think it's a rude awakening in Philly Eagles big. Tomorrow's headlines today.

Chiefs Jags in Kansas. I'm going to Hushman Zata, taking an upset here. I looked at him sideways. The headline will be read them and weep. Chief's closed book on Lawrence. Come on. Jaguars, yeah. I mean, I like this team a lot.

I love Trevor Lawrence. You like the story. The story. Yeah. It's a little better than the actual product. Remember, this is a team that did the onside kick earlier this year in Kansas City. Chiefs turned the ball over three times, including in the red zone, and Casey still won handily. I think this Chief's team really opens up a can early and then coast to victory. I like Kansas City to advance. Yeah, I like a Jags late cover, but I think they win Kansas City.

Tomorrow's headlines today, boy, is this a title fight. Niners and the Cowboys in the Bay, Santa Clara. Gushing about this game, I can't wait. Game of the weekend, the headline will be pretty, pretty good. Again, Cowboys can't curb enthusiasm. You like that little there, a nice reference there. I just, San Francisco is to me the best bet of the weekend. Dallas, fourth straight road game, Colin.

And you look at Dak Prescott. Before the game against Tampa, the whole narrative was, man, this guy's throwing a pick seven straight games. Are you serious? His consistency has, or lack thereof, has been an issue. I don't see Pollard and Schultz having success against Greenlaw and Werner, the linebackers for San Francisco are iconic, basically. Bosa coming off the edge.

I don't see Dallas doing enough. offensively, and I would not be surprised if Kyle Shanahan dials up another one of those, hey, let's not have Perdue do a lot, let's run CMAC, Debo, Mitchell. I like San Francisco here comfortably. Your breakdown's excellent. Tomorrow's headlines today. This is the one I think could get ugly bingles and bills. Well, so far I've gone three favorites, and I think the crowd knows it.

Jason, favorites don't always cover. The headline will be Buffalo Billy Goated. Allen just playing bad. And I have the Bengals winning an upset. So I was just checking the weather, Colin, before this. It looks like it's going to be, yes, in the 30s with wet snow, not a ton of precipitation, not the lakeside effect stuff that's dangerous. But I do believe in that scenario, the Buffalo ground game.

You've been bagging on it all season. The running game isn't there. There's a big game for Josh Allen, I think, on the ground prop-wise. If you're interested, Alan's going to have to carry this team. But, Colin, they led the NFL in red zone turnovers a season with seven. This is a problem. And remember last year in the two playoff games, Alan, nine touchdowns, near zero interceptions.

He was incredible against the Patriots and Chiefs. Now, Brian Dable's gone. And the mistakes are happening. Two interceptions last week, the fumble, scoop, and score. The Cincinnati defense has been underrated all year. Their second half defensive adjustments have been otherworldly. I do believe the Bengals pull off a big upset here. Wow.

Your guy, Joe Burrow, goes into Buffalo, and we start a summer of questions for the Buffalo bills. You and I disagree on every game, yes. Well, that's not good for me. That might not be good for me. I don't know. I just want one win. One in three, I'll live with it because I've been hot.

I just, it makes more sense than any other stop. Can you see Miami affording Brady A, B, just totally kicking to it to the curb after all the concussions. What is going on with Lamar Jackson? Well, you're flip-flopping like a politician, right? I think earlier in the show you said Lamar staying in Baltimore now, right? I think so. The headline will be, I'm sorry, Mr. Jackson. Jets are for real. How about it? Lamar Jackson and the New York Jets.

I know it seems like it's a difficult move. Can the Jets, come on, do they have enough draft capital? It'd be fascinating. But if you're Lamar Jackson and you want to kind of change it up, Why wouldn't you go with the Jets up the turnpike? They've got the run game with Breece Hall. They've got a very good receiver in Wilson, and the defense is playoff ready.

We know they were excellent. Defense is fantastic. And oh, by the way, Lamar Jackson, remember, he had fewer commercials in the Baltimore region than the kicker, Justin Tucker. Hey, Lamar, you're missing out on a lot of paychecks. Go to New York. Profit big time.

You'd be... I know Joe Namath fans are not happy, but Lamar would instantly be a massive hit. You know the TV networks. Jackson, Jets would get a lot of high-profile games. Lamar, head up the turnpike to New York. Jets, Robert Sala could use you to save his job. I think it's a fascinating move.

Great. There isn't even a better spot for him than the Jets at this point, assuming he would have leave Baltimore. Miami is spicy. You know, we all think the giants have got it figured out, right? Come on. But Lamar to the Jets. Oh, tale of two cities.

And you're staying with Taylor, sorry, Daniel Jones. No, I, you know, I think if you take the Viking games out, Daniel Jones threw for like under 3,000 yards. I got nothing against the kid. I think the story of Brian Dable and Daniel is unbelievable. I think we have, do we have the next great coach? I mean, Kyle Shanahan seven, eight years ago, we're like, when he made Matt Ryan MVP, we're like, oh my God, that's the next great coach.

McVeigh, when he came into the league and saved Jared Gough, we're like, that's the next great coach. Gough was a disaster. So is Brian Dable? Do we have another McVay? It looks like it. One of the best coaches in the league, certainly. Oh, I think right side of the ball?

I mean, Brian, I mean, he's a runaway. If the bills lose this weekend, they are going to be crying about not having Brian Dable. That's a good call. That's a headline next week.
