Probably too spicy of a take for you, but I watched Justin Fields yesterday against Jalen Hertz. I thought Justin Fields looked like the more dangerous quarterback. You give him an offensive line, that guy can be good.

He had 95 yards rushing. Here's what worries about. I worry about Justin Fields. Physically, he's totally impressive. But does he feel a little like Zach Wilson where he's very dependent on the spectacular? Because he is. His receivers are in his offensive line is an ass. This is why I worried about Matt Eberflus.

I don't doubt his physical ability. Like, he's ridiculous. That scramble was the best scramble I've seen this year in the league. But he is a little. I worry about quarterback, like Josh Allen, his first year in the league. He couldn't do the easy stuff. You've got to be able to hit eight, nine layups a game. And Josh Allen's first year in the league, he couldn't.

So, again, it's hard to judge Justin Fields. They drafted, I think, four offensive linemen last year. I think, I don't know if they can play. They got over. One of them went down. I think was carted off in this game. But if you play that silly game, if you put Jalen Hertz on the Bears

and Justin Fields on the Eagles. I think Jalen Hertz is better right now because I think he's better, more experienced, fewer mistakes. He's got an elite offensive line. He's got A.J. Brown and Devonter Smith. But I think Jalen Hertz, I think we undervalue him because of his size. I think he doesn't make, like, yesterday,

he admitted after the game. He's like, that's a coldest what I've ever played in. He had no touchdown passes. He had two picks. He only had three all season coming in. But came off a blowout win, Cowboys next. Wasn't that your classic? Trap spot, yep.

Bears covering the spread. I took the Bears plus nine. Indeed. And they outplayed them for big chunks. I mean, it's... Yeah. I was nervous when Fields got hurt. Then he came back.

The kid's a warrior. And the Jets passed on him for Zach Wilson. Anyways, you know, Fields had that spectacular 39 yards gravel you alluded to. Became just the third quarterback in NFL history. Over a thousand yards joining Vic and Lamar Jackson with three games to go. Needs 206 to match Lamar's single. season record. But he's bigger than those dudes.

I mean, in size, size, strength. I mean, Justin is, that scramble is insane. He's just really fun to watch. If you're a Bears fan, again, another great scenario. You guys play hard, you get a close loss. And, oh, by the way, you got a top five draft pick coming away. But this coach and this GM have to overcome the previous GM. Yeah.

I'll just point out, Robert Saul and the Jets in year one were awful in every aspect. And right now, they're fighting for a playoff spot. But they're not going to make it. They're not. But guess what? the Bears were in the NFC where the wild card options are like Washington and the Giants. Next up, Mitchell Tribisky, speaking of bad quarterbacks. He started for Kenny Pickett, and he was serviceable, 17 to 22 for 179, rushed for a touchdown.

Mike Tomlin, of course, did not have him making any risky throws whatsoever. Steelers sack Sam Darnold four times. Sam Darnold, you were excited about him last week, Colin. Held the Panthers to 209 total yards. I know. Tomlin, 6 and 8. He's got a shot to keep that. 500 streak alive.

This was a corner TV game. Bad game. Every time I looked up, Sam Darnow was running for his life. You know, games this weekend were either great or unwatchable. There wasn't a lot of like Cleveland, Baltimore, Unwatchable. Denver, Arizona. Unwatchable.

Pittsburgh, Carolina. Yeah, Carolina. No, they have to see. There's a lot of, I'm telling you, man, there's every year, eight coaches get fired and eight teams are. desk for a quarterback. Do you keep Steve Wilkes? I think that's the guy in Carolina right now. I don't know. All I know is this. They were playing hard for him. They're in the mix in the division. And then they, you know. Folks, there's only about four quarterbacks that are

first round talents. There's eight teams that need it. If Baker Mayfield might be generous, Colin. If Baker Mayfield chops it up tonight, win or lose, somebody's going to give him a bridge job. They are for two years. He's not going to be the franchise guy, but he'll get a two-year $30 million contract. There's nothing out there. What is out there? So, JNC consulting, which if viewers missed it, we hatched that last hour. Yeah. Or consulting for... Jason and Colin consulting.

Yeah, Jason first, obviously. Yeah. I don't think... I'm not advising a buy on Baker as a bridge quarterback. I think the move for him is to be a backup to Stafford. Hell, I would rather back up Justin Herbert. I mean, the guys take it some hits. That's more value than going to some bad team and making a bunch of money.

I know, but it's easy for us to say, if somebody offers you $18 million or three... You don't think I've had offers since I started this that are willing to pay me more money than this? You think I want to go to these other radio hosts? But it's one thing if it's like back up is nine, starting's 11. But when you're young, he's like, what is he, 29 years old? Is he 29? Well, he's not very old.

I mean, how old is Baker Mayfield? I thought it's closer to 27. I got to be honest with you. That's an easy thing for us to say. Okay, he's 27 years old. Somebody offers me 18 or 3. I'm taking the 18. I'm sorry, winning.

I'm not going to win the Super Bowl anyway. If I'm a backup on the Rams, I still don't get credit for the Super Bowl. I'm the backup. So it'll be one thing if it's starting for the Rams for a low number with McVeigh, then I take way less money. If you said Stafford retires tomorrow and you can make six with the Rams and 18 with Houston, I would take the Rams starting with McVeigh. But back up to 18 million, I'm taking the 18 million.

No, winning's not Again, I'm not winning the Super Bowl anyway. Give me the bag. I need to let it marinate a little more. I don't think that's that easy. We'll ask Sean Payton when he comes on. That's a tough one, Colin. I mean, $3 million versus 18.

L.A. taxes are significant out here. I don't know what they're like in Texas. I've never lived there, but I'm assuming they're better than California. All right, we'll wrap. Oh, look at this. We're wrapping up with Baker Mayfield and the Rams facing Aaron Rogers and the Packers. You've almost convinced me this game is worth watching.

It is. I have no money on it as of right this moment. Baker last Thursday, thrilling comeback. Everybody forgets the first 53 minutes where he was awful. But he did it all just after landing 48 hours and joining the team. He faces a Packers team outdoors, and I haven't checked the weather. Packers really struggling there basically must win out if they want to have a chance at the playoffs. They're mathematically alive, but they're averaging.

27.3 points per game in their last four after just 17.1 in their first nine. Foxbet has this as Packers at 7.5. I don't like that. It was 6.5 or 7 I'd take. I think Green Bay wins like 28, 20, 30, 20. How are the Rams getting 20 points? Well, you could argue how is Green Bay getting 30, but they've had extra time to prepare. I find this fascinating.

So I've been on something for three years, and I do feel like, I mean, we all like to be right. I'm going to ask you tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to ask you on the show. Is Matt Lefleur a good coach? In his three years with Green Bay, they have less of an identity. The defense has never been worse. Aaron's never felt more independent of the franchise.

They don't have any, what is their identity offensively? So it's funny. When Matt Lefleur came in with Shanahan and McVeigh, we all annoyeded them because he had Aaron and the division was terrible. Detroit's good now. Minnesota's pretty good now. When you watch the game tonight,

tell me tomorrow on the show what he does. Because the longer anybody's at a company, the truth comes out. If I took over Microsoft, it would be fine six days later. Six months later, the stock would be plumbered. We're watching Elon Musk take over Twitter and it's becoming...

Every day it's worse. It's getting really bad quickly. But I'll push back. on that a little bit. So, Zach Taylor takes the Bengals, or I'm sorry, Joe Burrow takes the Bengals to the Super Bowl last year. Is Zach Taylor a good coach? Well, he does appear, okay, that's a good question.

Here's why Zach Taylor has sold me. They're a great second half team. Okay, wait, now the defense is dominating the second half. Is that the defensive coordinator? Or is Zach Taylor cooking up some amazing plans at halftime? All I know is over

over the last couple years with Burrow, They're very good making alterations. They're very good situationally. I always judge coach. I mean, how were the Jets situationally yesterday? Yesterday they were spot. Okay.

So the Bengals tend to be good situationally. Some of it's burrow. Can't all be burrow. Can't all be burrow. Even Brady, as we see, need help. We could ask music. I bet it's 96% Burrow. Okay.

Do you think, I think, listen, if it's all the quarterback, then why is Brady having trouble? Well, no. In Cincinnati, I would say. I'm just saying, if you're good after half and you're good situationally, that's a pretty good sign as an outsider. You're not incapable. Matt Lafleur's first couple years in the league, he was terrible after half, and I don't think Green Bay is good situationally. But they still won 13 games.

Was that all Aaron? The lions were awful. The Vikings were, had Zimmer and it was eroding. Now the division's better. They won 13 games in a row three years in a row. I mean, that's awesome. Now, one last thing. I think I texted you this yesterday.

Brandon Staley and the Chargers have no touchdowns in the third quarter since week five. Oh, no, I got issues with that team. What does that tell you about the coach at halftime and opponents making adjustments? Think about this. The Chargers with Justin Herbert, Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, Austin Echler. Now, the O-line's been a bit of a mess. No touchdowns third quarter since week five. That has to be a red flag.

My problem with the Chargers is, do you see an identity offensively? Yeah, it's Justin Herbert. That's my book. You go as Herbert goes. That's my knock on the bills. What is their offensive identity? Josh Allen. That's two defensive coaches.

All right. J-Mack with the news. Is that it? Is that your last story? Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The herd lie news. Here are the standings.

We're still waiting for Sean Peyton. Here are the standings as of this morning. Playoff teams, no playoff teams. So the AFC feels pretty true to me. You know, Bill's Chiefs, Bengals are obviously feel great. Titans Ravens struggling, but they do have. have identities, physical identities. Chargers, dolphins are super talented offensively. I don't think the Patriots, Jets, Jags, Raiders, Brown, Steelers feel like playoff teams.

Although, let's check back in two weeks with the Jags. They're pretty damn interesting. Wait, Jags don't feel like a playoffs? Well, well, they're getting there. But all these teams have something I can go, like Bill's Chiefs Bengals, Superstar Quarterbacks, Titans, Ravens, physical teams, great coaches. Titans have lost four straight. They are, I know. They can't do anything. But they're falling apart physically. But the Titans and Ravens play real defense with great coaches. Chargers, dolphins, flawed, wow, weapons, and capable, you know, capable offenses. The rest of these teams, Patriots, Jets, Raiders, Brown, Steelers, no.

Let's just wait two more weeks. After you play the Cowboys, let's see if the Jags come back down to Earth, the Jags feel like maybe they're a playoff team. When you go to the NFC, three teams in the playoffs, I'm not even sure I like. So obviously, Eagles, listen, the Vikings keep winning these one possession games. Complain all you want. Maybe not, but they keep winning all of them. Eagles, Vikings, Niners absolutely feel like playoff teams.

Bucks, I mean, Bucks are the best team in a terrible division, have lost their way. I think Dallas feels like the fourth best team in the NFC. And then it's, Bucks have lost their way. Giants can't win a shootout. Commanders aren't good enough at quarterback. Detroit's the Jaguars of the AFC, where, they're not there yet, but they kind of have the makings and the feel and the identity and toughness of a playoff team. Is it crazy that I look at that NFC list, Colin?

I see the potential for three new head coaches among the playoff teams. Who? Well, I would not be surprised if something happened to McCarthy if they lose in the first round. Now, that I think you're totally right. I don't think Ron Rivera is a lock to return. And listen, Todd Bowles running Tom Brady out of town. going on there that is not pretty. The fake punt call,

there's a video of Gio Bernard in the locker room with the media. You guys should go check it out. It's kind of funny. Tampa, there's some bad vibes, as a kid said. I will say this, though. We had Jimmy Johnson on earlier. You got to give Detroit my entire life has ruined Thanksgiving. They're awful. But I will tell you this,

they're not a playoff team yet. We saw two teams that aren't playoff teams yet. The Jags and the Lions yesterday absolutely feel like playoff teams this morning. Dangerous ones, too. Oh, they can get in. If you can win multiple ways, that's what playoff teams do.

Giants can't. The score has to be low. Jets can't. Patriots can't. I mean, literally, Mac Jones does not have a fourth quarter passing touchdown all season. That's not a playoff team. They may get in, but they don't feel like it.

Here's Jimmy Johnson on Dan Campbell, the coach. People say, well, these guys are getting paid umpteen million dollars. You shouldn't have to motivate. them. Let me assure you, you need to motivate them. Maybe the top eight or ten on your roster, maybe they're self-motivated, but they still need some motivation. You know, every company brings in motivational speakers for their top executives. Everybody needs to be motivated. But I tell you where Dan Campbell's done the job, he's motivated that bottom half of the roster. Because I promise you, some of those knuckleheads, they need to be motivated. If they're not motivating the bottom

half of that roster, then you're not going to get the best out of your organization and your team's not going to improve. You know, so I think the Jags and the Lions, we got to keep checking on them, but they do have a playoff feel. People think I don't like Miami. I pick Miami to make the playoffs. In fact, this morning, I have the AFC perfectly. I picked the Bills to win, Miami Wildcard, Patriots third, Jets fourth.

So right, there's a couple of divisions in football I've got right top to bottom. That is one of them. It's not that I don't like Miami. It's this nonsense about two as a pro bowler. You've got to add context to it. He was capable. If you go back to that Miami Buffalo game, Miami had the better game plan,

the better run defense, absolutely an identity. Jalen Waddle, nobody could cover him. And he went 17 to 30 in perfect weather. I mean, think about this. The longest drive in the fourth quarter when the blizzard hit was Buffalo. So two, it didn't play a lot. the fourth quarter. They got a huge weather break because if we were going to get a blizzard

for three and a half quarters, there wasn't a snowflake. It was perfect. And Jimmy Johnson earlier, he lives down in Florida, Miami on where are you right now with Tua? They're making the best out of what they have with Tua. No, Tua is not Joe Burrow. You know, Tua is not Herbert. He is not Josh Allen. But if you give him the right supporting cast, Tua can win for you. Franchise quarterbacks are hard to find. You know, and even pretty good quarterbacks are hard to find. You look around the league, about half of them, you know, really, some of them can't play a lick.

And so, you really got to do the best out of what you have until you find something better. Yeah. So, and again, that's where I am with Tua. It's fine. Fall in like with him. So can I give you something? Don't fall in love. Miami 8 and 6.

They feel like a playoff team team. Okay. Let me tell you, do they still feel like a playoff team? They host Green Bay. When? Green Bay is like not mathematically eliminated yet. Yeah, but they're going to beat Green Bay. In Miami, they'll beat Miami on Christmas Day.

They'll win that. Okay. Then they travel up north to New England. They'll win that game. Oh, when they close with the Jets. Where's that game? In Miami. They'll win that game.

So you think they're going 3 and 0, they're going 11 and 6? So you have them definitely in the playoffs. Well, yeah. We have proof. They faced five. non-playoff teams, they went five and O, they face three playoff teams in a row, they lost all of them. Now you're asking me, are they going to do well against three non-playoff teams? Fringe non-playoff.

I mean, all those three teams are in the hunt. Green Bay is technically in the hunt. But we looked, let's show the graphic from earlier. It's very clear with them. When they face borderline or non-playoff teams, Miami's offense is too much to handle. When they face playoff teams, Miami doesn't win. Two is not the same quarterback. So now you're asking me, Packers at home, Jets at Home Patriots, they will beat all those teams.

I mean, it's clear. We should make a friendly wager on the show. There's no way they're going three and O to end this season. I'll tell you that straight. Okay. What do you want to bet? They're going to go three and no. 100%.

I'm not putting anything else in my head. I don't know. We'll let it marinate and maybe we'll open it to the audience. Elon Musk style. What should we wager for the dolphins going through? You know, nothing rated our folks. Keep it clean. I'm not saying they're blowing them out. They will beat the Packers at home, the Patriots in Foxborough. That's the close one. And the Jets will be toast. They'll rest some of their years.

Oh, really? Yeah. The Jets will be toast. So by the way, two teams are two and O against the spread against the mighty Buffalo Bills this season. Who? Miami and the Jets. Well, it's a division games. Each of them beat Buffalo once I should add for the Bills fans. you get your podcasts. You know, you were complaining a little bit about the Buccaneers Bengals game. And what's really interesting is Anthony Davis has now hurt for the Lakers again. Brady and LeBron over the last decade have been sort of our messy, our iconic stars. And the World Cup, you got Messi, his last World Cup wins. Mbapapay is the next great star. Mabapé is Mahomes or Burrow or Alan or he's the next guy that literally can carry a France team where everybody was sick. Messi needed great goaltending. Messi needed his team to be a little healthier. And that's just an energy thing.

You got more energy at 24 than you do at 34 than you do at 44 than you do at 44. So LeBron and Brady, they just can't carry teams anymore. Aaron Rogers, tonight when you watch, I think all. I think because I think everybody watching us knows that. that Mahomes can now carry a team with a shaky defense. Josh Allen is carrying a Bills team with a bad O line that doesn't have much of a run game. Herbert's carrying a bad O line, and we're not sure if he's got the coach. Burrow carried a horrible offensive line to the Super Bowl.

I think we have only four quarterbacks in the entire sport. They're really, they're so gifted they can overcome a lot of stuff. Mahomes won. I would put Burroughs better situationally than Allen. Alan three and Herbert. Now, Herbert hasn't won as much, but we're not sure he's ever even had the right coach. We think Alan Mahomes. We know Mahomes.

We think Allen. We think Burrell have the right coach. Coaching's about 30 to 50 percent of it. So those four. They're all, by the way, big, good arms, and some mobility. Jalen Hertz is smaller. He's better sometimes out of the pocket than in it. We think he could join them, but I don't think he's there yet.

He's not as good a pocket passer. He doesn't have to, he doesn't have the pellets yet. I'm not sure. I think, I think, but I'm not sure. But I think the difference is LeBron and Brady can no longer carry. They just can't. If you give them, if there are holes, Brady cannot overcome a bad O line. Burrow got to the Super Bowl with it.

Allen, four years now with a shaky old. It's a weakest part of the bills. Doesn't matter. Just overcome it. Herbert, his offensive line, his first year was awful. It was Herbert's rookie year. Worst O-line in the league, PFF. It was either worst or 30th.

And 30 touchdowns. And Keenan Allen wasn't know as healthy. Those guys are totally different now in the sport. Now, we know that Brady and LeBron can't overcome. The question is, where do you put Aaron Rogers who plays tonight? I think Rogers is much closer to Brady than he is Allen. I think a lot of people think Aaron's much closer to Alan Mahomes than Brady.

He lost his best receiver. The season's a disaster. Burrow got to a Super Bowl, a play away from winning with one of the worst O-lines in the sport. Aaron can't do that. Can't do it. By the way, as you point out, Kansas City's defense has holes.

They've had to rebuild their defense, their receiving court, and their O-line. In four years, they've had three total rebuilds. Has not affected Mahomes at all. Herbert doesn't even have the right coach. Two of the three years.

O-line's awful. Injury ravaged. Now, he's not getting to the playoffs, but he's putting up big boy numbers. I think Aaron, let's watch tonight. Now, Romeo Dobbs comes back. They've had extra time. Maybe Aaron lights it up tonight. Rams aren't good.

But I think Aaron's much closer to the Brady-Lebron space. But he throws such a pretty ball. It's so effortless. He's such a beautiful marino. thrower of the football. We tend to think he's really close. I don't think, I don't think, Aaron is even close to Mahomes anymore.

Aaron can't do any of those physical things. Is there a scenario where the Packers fixed the offensive line and he says, you know what, I've had a year with Dobbs and Watson and next year Aaron Rogers is, I mean, this is a guy who went back-to-back MVP's. He doesn't fall off a cliff. So here's what's funny.

His own line's not bad. It's top four in the league. Oh. Star running back, serviceable tight end, Top five offensive line, emerging star at receiver. It's not bad. Mahomes has overcome three utter rebuilds. No effect.

Alan, battle line, no running game, no effect. Well, Andy Revers. Burr didn't have Joe Mixon and Jamar Chase, and you don't even like their coach, Super Bowl. This is true. I'm not a huge fan of his. So I'm saying we know LeBron and Brady. We know they can no longer carry.

They need a lot of help. That's all. I mean, they're in yours. What do we call this? Winning in spite of? I just think Aaron is way closer to the Brady thing. I think Aaron needs a lot of help now. But because of aesthetically, he is so beautiful to watch, we don't think that.

Now, he may come out tonight. Rams are a mess at home, extra prep. They're healthy. Aaron may chew it up tonight. Well, Aaron Rogers also lost Nathaniel Hackett, who was obviously highly instrumental. Give me a break. Highly instrumental in the office. wrong on this. This is not a shot at Aaron.

Boy, you, you... I'll just say this. Andy Reed, where is he on your list of, like, all-time great coach? Certainly top ten. Maybe top five? Well, okay. He's... Andy Reid's an incredible coach. Bill Walsh.

Let's just... Walsh Belichick. I mean, look at Andy Reid's track record. Chuck Null. You mean, you got all the rings. I'm just, I mean, Reed's top five. Somebody would probably put Don Shula in there. He's a lot.

Yeah. But Andy Reed certainly helps... When you look visually at the Chief's offense, They're doing stuff that very few teams are doing. They look different than, say, my Jets. When you watch those two offenses, say, wow. In fairness, every great quarterback, Aikman had Jimmy, Montana had Walsh, Brady had Rice, Brady had Belichick, Fouts had Don Correel.

It's tough to do it by yourself, right? Is that what we're getting? Yeah. By the way, Fav had Holgren. Find me the great Bradshaw had Noel. Stabler had Mare. Madden. Find me the great quarterback who Steve Young had Walsh. They all have great coaches. Sanchez had Rex Ryan in New York. Two AFC title games. Come on. But they all. Yeah, Elway had

Shanahan. There's no, I mean, Marino had Shula. There's no, all these quarterbacks have somebody. See, it's not fair to look at Mahomes and go, well, he's got Andy Reed. They've all got Hall of Fame coaches. Big Ben had Cowan and Tomlin. Those are way better than average coach. Those are really good coaches. So I'm just saying. No, I think I would agree with you, Mahomes is on the trajectory to be one of the top five quarterbacks in the history. What would you, if you... He's not that far off. Like, honestly, he's that good.

Nick Wright once had an argument that I thought was interesting, that if you traded like a Mahomes or a great player, that as long as they stayed in the league, he would do the trade as long as like, if I got Mahomes from the chiefs, I would give the chiefs a draft pick, some draft pick every year. He said first round pick. I think over time you'd need first round picks. But as long as the salary was reasonable and flexible and you could pay down guaranteed money, what is the value of, like a prime example, Aaron Rogers' value, would you give up a first round pick? If you're Tennessee, I would.

I'd give up a first for Aaron and maybe a four. Right now? Right now. I mean, you just sat here, besmirching the name of Aaron Rogers. You're giving up a one for him? Of course I am. I'm going to give up. I'm saying he's not mohams.

What would you give up for Mahomes? And I'm not joking. Number ones? Is that the starting point of the discovery? Russell Wilson fetch how many three? Don't, yeah, don't put those two together. Well, no, that's what I'm saying. It's starting at three or four.

I would start with Mahomes with five first. If I'm Andy Reid, if I went in Super Bowl this year, I want five ones, five twos, a starting left tackle, and your best pass rusher. And I will sleep on it. Woof. I'm telling you, Mahomes, what is he worth? Mahon. I know sometimes fans are turned off by the salaries of players.

Mahomes is worth over a billion dollars to a franchise. Kansas City will be front and center on every network for 10 years. And thank God Mahomes has his wits about him. He's coachable. He's a great kid. What was the value of LeBron James when he went to Miami? So 5-1s, 5-2s, and a left tackle, you said? No, no.

I want 5-1s, 5-2s to left tackle your best pass rusher, and I'll sleep on it. Okay, so the Houston Texans would call up and say, 5-1s, we'll give you... Jeremy Tunsell. And I can't even name a pass rush around that awful team. I'm saying I'd sleep on it. I'm not saying I'd do it. I would not give up Mahomes for that.

No, I mean, I'm just... The point is, it's a thought exercise. Unless Andy Reid is totally confident he can find the next Mahomes. Okay. So you wouldn't make the move, and I wouldn't either. I'd give up a first and a fourth for Aaron. So you tell me... So you wouldn't give up five first five to a left tack.

I wouldn't either. One of them's 25, the other is 30. Nobody cares. I care about talent. If you don't think Mahomes and Aaron are a Grand Canyon gap, I would absolutely move Aaron tomorrow for a first to fourth and maybe a right tackle. Boom, done. You can't even, you can't make a deal.

What are you giving up for Herbert? It's not that less than that much than Mahomes. Four firsts, four seconds. See, if I'm the Jets, I do that in a whole. heartbeat. We have a great roster.
