This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's
superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but the show.
celebrated. So let's get to it. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeard Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok
podcast network on TikTok. Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast. Be sure to catch us live every
weekday on Fox Sports Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific. Find your local station for
the herd at Fox SportsRadio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeart Radio app by searching Fox Sports
Radio or F-S-R.
Now let's get this party started.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
And, you know, for years and years, we've had this HBO stuff, but it feels like it's played
out.
I'm not really into it.
I don't, Hard Knocks doesn't interest me.
The Aaron stuff, you know, we'll talk about it if there's funny stuff that comes out
of it, but I don't, you know, whatever.
So Netflix comes out with quarterback.
You're obsessed on this series.
Oh, it's great.
Okay, so give me, give me a, if I'd never seen it and you're trying to sell me on
What does it provide maybe I've never seen?
It provides each tier in terms of the type of franchise quarterback.
So you have Marcus Marriota, right?
He is, you know, he came in first round pick, went to some adversity.
Now he's a backup.
Yeah, battling with confidence, you know, which was the thing.
And then you can see his journey through there trying to revive himself.
And then you have Kurt Cousins, who is a, you know, franchise, very efficient quarterback,
still, you know, can't get over the edge in terms of leading his team deep into playoffs.
And then you have Mahomes where it's like if I already thought super highly of him and
thought he was a real deal, no one's close.
This, watching this, it makes it even more certain that there is, there is no one in his
realm right now.
He has every single intangible, like mentally and physically that you want.
want from a quarterback.
Like his belief in himself and what he can do and how he can lead his team to a Super Bowl,
it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's amazing.
Well, he has the ability, what I've seen so far is he has this incredible confidence
and emotional belief.
It never becomes narcissism.
Ever.
It's all, his ego is all tied up in winning.
Period.
Sometimes your guy Aaron Rogers' ego is tied up in Aaron.
We're not talking about Aaron right now.
Anyhow, we're not going to just go to Aaron.
We're not going to just segue this.
Let me finish on your point with Mahomes to back up your point.
Right.
When his team was down 17s at versus the Raiders, when he went after Max Crosby and
argue with him, he said my team needed that, to your point.
He said my team needed that.
So yes, I agree.
Winning.
Winning.
When I watch Mahomes, people confuse the two.
I always said this about Baker Mayfield.
It was often about his hubris and his shield.
Don't me, me, me.
I like ego.
Brady's ego was about winning.
Peyton Manning's was about winning.
Mahomes is all about winning.
And he's got it.
Like he'll talk, you know what.
Like he talks a lot of crap.
But it's always about in this moment, you're not beating us.
I'm taking us over you.
And I think there's a fine line.
I think fans and players often confuse.
that. We want ego if it's placed under as the headline to the winning department.
Don't take shots at the medical staff, Baker. Don't take shots at a teammate. Don't talk about your,
I want to retire. Never talk about that. That's about you. It's not good for the team.
I'm not just taking shots at Aaron, but I've seen this. He confused, I don't know if he confuses it.
His ego is based a lot on I'm going to retire, I'm going to control. Mahomes is all about the
W. That's why I love it. Well, let's give him
homes another 10 years and
see when he faces adversity.
You know? It's called the NFL
he faces it every Sunday.
Now what about cousins? They face him every Sunday.
What do you make it Kirk Cousins in this
quarterback series? Yeah, I think
it's cool to see
like where Kirk
went from being in Washington.
I was there with him for a couple years.
But you can tell with him
he's very detailed. He's very
calculated. He, he
he thinks a lot, sometimes overthink, and is really into, right, that's been his rap,
into our things.
And I would say the, you can see glimpses here and there in terms of like a little bit
of edge, but just not enough edge.
But I will say the common denominator across the board with all these quarterbacks is that
they are all leaders in their, in their own way, you know, and you can tell like the guys
love and the rally around Kirk, but you can tell that Kirk definitely evils.
evaluates and looks at every single piece of the puzzle to be successful.
Where you look at Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes, he's just going to go out there and try to take some set off.
He doesn't overthink anything.
He just goes out there.
He understands what it is.
And also, too, you can see them.
Ken City is what Andy Reid does.
He has them completely prepared across the board, like as a team.
Who's that?
Andy Reed, what he does for the Chiefs.
Yeah, Reid's.
Like everyone is completely.
on the same page.
And that's exactly why.
That's why when they lost Tyreek, I'm like, they're just going to, they can't replace
him like his actual attributes, but they can just get more part returners and then run more
trick plays, which is what they did.
Yeah, I mean, I was watching the Tiger Woods documentary yesterday.
It's the two-parter.
And childhood was very unique, very almost military background with his father, very strident,
very limited, very controlled.
controlling. And at some point, he burst out of that and went sideways emotionally because he'd
never been given a piece of candy. So what did he want the first time he made money and had
freedom? Candy. So it's like with Mahomes, I do think a big part of his success, dad was a
pro athlete. Right. When I watch Mahomes, his ability to compartmentalize, highly emotional on the
sidelines, highly emotional. And then he gets into the game and he's totally under control.
that feels like some parenting in there.
Am I wrong?
Yeah, I would
I would say parenting for sure,
but Andy Reed is such a
he understands,
he's like Phil Jackson where he really understands
like the person, the player.
You know, again, in that document,
Patrick talks about he allows us to be ourselves
and wants us to express who we are.
But also he understands like where it could be too much.
So he does a great job in controlling emotions
of his players on the team.
And so I would say,
say it's more, especially in this world, you know, because I, I know a lot of players that
grew up, you know, with both parents and had a great childhood. And actually, in some cases,
it's used against them because. Well, the Tiger situation, it's like, I know it was really
instructive. In the end, it felt it was a tad destructive. Right. Right. Like where
Mahomes is allowed to be from parents to Andy Reed, he's allowed to be an artist. Right.
But I think he does a really good job. And maybe it's just good parents, good coach.
He's gone, you know, when I watch Mahomes, I get the perfect balance of ego, creativity, and yet team structure.
It's very unique when you get all three of those.
Well, yeah, he does all that stuff for the best interest of the team.
And that's how it should be no matter what, especially in the professional athlete world.
Because for me, I can play for any kind of coach.
And I have, I had every coach you can think of.
My Pop Warner coach used to go crazy and curse.
My high school coach used to go nuts and be crazy.
I played for Tom O'Brien, who has a strong military background.
I played for Coach Coughlin, who's real aggressive.
I had McCarthy.
I had a spread out of all these guys.
But at the end of the day, is however they are, if their best interest is in the player, the team, then it's all good.
But then when the ego is the only thing that takes over, then that's where you lose a lot of players and lose a lot of people.
And there's some coaches where I think sometimes college coaches become very much about ego and control.
Well, because now they feel like you need them, but now it's kind of turning a little bit.
Yeah, it's not a bad thing.
It's not a bad thing.
Sequin Barclay.
So earlier Ian O'Connor, a very talented writer in New York, said he's the classic giant, the Frank Gifford mold, hard worker.
Right.
About winning.
Always says the right thing.
Good looking.
People like, he is a classic New York giant.
And now you know this, and I do because I lived out there for 10 years.
The giants are like the great big accounting firm of the NFL.
Even when they win, they're not exciting.
But there is a giant.
There is a way to do business.
They're like Michigan football.
Like Rich Rod didn't fit.
Right.
Like he just didn't fit.
He was too, whatever.
But like for Barclay, even though it's a running back,
is there an argument that you sign him because he's the embodiment of this
organization at their very best. The class, the work ethic, the productivity. He is the classic
giant for an organization that's been trying to find itself for nine years. Yeah, I think that it would be
hard not to because he does belong there. When you think of the New York Giants, you think of
he's the kind of guy, you know, under the radar star who's all about team. Right. You think of him.
And that's why I can hope he does get paid,
but I can also see him playing under the tie
because just the type of person he is,
he's the ultimate competitor, you know,
and for him to, I know he has new management,
for him to sit out this year and wait until he gets something,
I don't see him doing that.
But yeah, I feel like New York does have to get something done,
especially they took care of the quarterback.
They took care of, you know, the defense.
And so I think it's trying to figure something out,
and I think it will get done.
By the way, I don't want you to think when you,
come on this show, I'm just taking shots at your guy, Aaron Rogers.
I don't want that to be our relationship.
I do think he's great.
It's not.
I just didn't want to talk about him yet.
Okay.
Because I do think I always get marginalized as a hater.
I think they're going to win nine games and just miss the playoffs,
but he's going to make them significantly better.
Nine to ten wins.
That's fair.
Nine to ten wins and that's like postseason worthy, you think?
Yeah, I think they're going to be, I think they're going to, it's going to be on the good side of the 10 or nine season.
Last game of the year for the Jets.
So they play like a Miami or a Buffalo.
The way the league structures it now, they want the last two weeks to count.
So you play your divisional rivals.
So you play your players.
So who's going to, what's the Jets last game of the year?
It is in New England.
Okay.
January 7th.
So I look at the Jets schedule.
I think they're going to go to New England with the playoffs on the line.
That's what I think.
I think they're going to stumble some early, pick up a lot of wins in week 11, 12, 13,
14-fitt. They're going to go a nice winning streak. That is a schedule.
No, how about the early one? That's what I'm saying the early one.
That's a lot of Jaylon Hertz and Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes and Dax.
They're going to need that week seven by. I'm trying to tell you.
It's rough. That's great though, but that's, but that's what he wants, though. He wants that.
And that's what's going to be exciting. Exactly. He gets Josh Allen. He gets Mahomes.
Okay, let me just count the wins right. Right. I'm going to go. So I think, so I said Buffalo is a
broodle opener. They come off an embarrassing
playoff loss. They're pissed.
And they're also bringing back
a team. Same
coordinators. Same team. That's a hard
win for the Jets. Listen,
but the Jets are going to be
excited, healthy. Buffalo
right now, emotionally, we have no
idea what's going on over there. So you
like the Jets to beat Buffalo?
I think it's very doable. Yeah,
dude. I think
that's a tough opener. Number two is going to be tough.
Cowboys going to win that one, I'm just saying right now.
Arizona's played great against Dallas.
That's at.
Will is currently employed by the Dallas Cowboys.
At Dallas, that's a tough one.
You don't think week one matters, but if you look at the, if you look at games that
are tough, in a row.
Who said it doesn't matter?
Well, I know, but you don't say it.
You mean in general?
Well, lately the NFL has been putting some, some dope games in the beginning.
But I'm saying if you face in a row, Mahomes at Denver and Philly.
You're not going through you know there.
you should split with Dallas and New England.
The Buffalo game becomes the difference between four and two and three and three
and a really bad start.
That Buffalo game is, why are you rolling your eyes?
It's a gigantic game.
That's a big game.
But again, I don't know where Buffalo is, again, emotionally when it's time to go.
Something happened in that building where everyone is kind of being weird about whatever's going on.
That's weird.
And then in week two early, Micah Parsons is known for ruining games.
So for him to go to Dallas and see Micah in that defense, that's going to be a big problem.
New England?
Don't know.
But yeah, Kansas City, that's a beast.
That is the toughest six-game stretch to start the season.
So you either have great quarterback, Josh Allen, Mahomes, Jalen, or great coach.
Sean Payton, Bill Belichick.
You got all pros, Hall of Famers, and MVP.
in the first six games.
Like, is rough.
That's legit.
All right.
Everything good for you?
I'm golden.
I'm excited.
I had a really cool week, and then I, yeah, I go to training camp next week.
Let's go.
For the Cowboys?
For the Cowboys.
Give me, can you give us a little insight?
Because you're tied into the organization now, because you played for McCarthy.
I played for McCarthy.
What is going to be better with the Cowboys?
than a guy like me, old Mr. Cynical guy,
what part of the Cowboys has impressed you more than you thought?
What part has impressed me more than I thought?
We all know their best players.
Right.
You know, I just, I don't know,
because everything I felt like that I've seen the outside that I expected,
I kind of, you know, me, I'm always, like, really detailed and cerebral in terms of that.
I think I was confirmed with how,
gifted C.D. Lamb is.
Okay.
Yeah. I think to to see him operate in person, he's very, you know, that acrobatic OBJ type of deal.
Yeah. And he's, and he's, I think he definitely got stronger. And then, yeah, and Brandon
cooks, he's. You know, Dax sat at a camp for kids this weekend. He goes, I, I will not have 10
interceptions this year. Love it. He doesn't. Then they're going to go super far.
Well, Mike McCarthy tends to...
Well, I'm not going to get into McCarthy.
You have a relationship with him.
Tends to what?
I'm here to defend.
Okay.
I'll ask you.
I'll ask you.
Mike McCarthy tends to fill in the blank.
I can't fill in the blank.
Okay.
He tends to have a winning record as a head coach.
Okay.
That's appropriate.
That's the truth.
Yeah.
Mostly.
It is.
It is.
Why is it mean mostly?
No, I, I, I,
think he is more than capable.
He's a Super Bowl winning head coach.
That's the only thing where he could say clock management.
Nothing else.
Well, that's, you know, the game is played with a clock.
It is played with a clock, but that's the only thing, you know?
That's fair.
I'm not trying to corner you here.
I'm never cornered on the show.
By the way, Mike McCarthy is calling plays this year, I've been told.
Can you validate that?
I don't know, because you do it.
There is a coordinator there, a veteran coordinator.
Conservative veteran coordinator.
But he's still a veteran coordinator.
worry a little bit about that conservative stuff.
Should I be worried about that?
Listen, run the ball, play defense.
Good to see the 80s called.
They want their ideology back.
Yep.
All right, Will Blackman.
It's good seeing you.

J. Mac for the news.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
That was good.
I was hoping you would say true or false is Mike McCarthy on the hot seat.
Jerry Jones has always been patient.
And by the way, he's had back-to-back like 12-win season.
Got rid of the offensive coordinator.
He didn't get rid of him.
Okay, what happened then?
What's the story behind Kellanmore?
He let him shine.
By the way.
Released him like a dove.
Also.
Kill-in-more and go.
We had the best offense.
One of the best offenses in the NFC.
Go!
I didn't have that move.
But if you're Kellynne Moore, it was an opportunity to have Justin Herbert.
That's a great opportunity.
By the way, a defensive coach that's saying take the offense,
instead of being under an offensive coach,
you know, an offensive coach for the coordinator is going to be a little more controlling.
McVeigh is going to be a little more controlling.
Whereas Brandon Staley's like, take my offense.
That's very attractive.
6,000 yards.
So you think nothing weird about a pretty good offensive coordinator moving on from the team
and then within, what, 24 hours he was signed?
No, I'm...
No, no, no.
First of all, Kelmore's good.
What I'm saying is if I'm a coordinator
and I have a chance to run the whole thing
because my defensive coach is like, run it.
That's incredibly attractive to me.
If I'm an offensive coordinator
and I have a Super Bowl winning offensive coach above me,
it's like if you go and coach for Nick Savant,
there's a reason he keeps getting great offensive coordinators.
Sark, Kiffin, Bill O'Brien,
McElane, why?
Because he lets him run the offense.
It's very attractive.
Defensive guys, he's had Kirby Smart,
but Nick's handprints, fingerprints are all over the defense.
So Buffalo, same thing last week.
Dawkins was sitting on the couch.
And during the commercial, we said,
what's the story with Leslie Frazier?
What's going on there?
And I'm not going to say what Dawkins said,
but let's just say there's some questions in Buffalo,
like what happened to Leslie Frazier?
He's under a defensive coach in McDermott.
And people aren't asking the question about Buffalo,
but they are in Dallas.
All I'm saying is, could it be they both left for the same reason?
Leslie Frazier wanted more control as a defensive coordinator, but the defensive coach wouldn't give it to him.
Kellynne War probably wanted to run everything, but out of respect, he's like, we got an offensive coach.
He wants his hands on it.
So I think coordinators to become a head coach, you really have to go to your resume and say, this was my offense, or this was my defense.
Right?
That's why Nick Sabin gets all these unbelievable coordinators.
They're like, Nick just gives you the shop.
It's your offense.
And Nick takes care of the defense.
That's very attractive.
Chargers are basically saying to Kellan Moore, dude, it is your offense.
We don't even go into meetings.
You know, McCarthy's going to be in the meetings.
He's going to say, I do this, I do that.
It's not a knock on McCarthy.
I don't like Kellan leaving, but I get why he left.
Am I wrong on that?
No, I get why he left.
Like I said, I felt like it was an opportunity.
Maybe charges inquired about him.
I'm sure they did, because they were moving off their guy.
Yeah.
And then Peyton was taking Lombardi because that's his guy.
From New Orleans.
Exactly.
All right, Jamie.
Or musical chairs, got it.
All right, let's move on.
Jordan Love, finally getting his chance to start after three years sitting behind.
Will's buddy, Aaron Rogers.
Bunny of Packers have come out and supported Love as QB1.
A.J. Dillon, the running back is the latest to give a glowing review.
Oh, okay.
People trust him.
People listen when he enters the huddle.
It's not like some new guy that just popped up who's calling the shots.
He's been here for about to be, well, going into this fourth year.
So I think he definitely has all the,
tangibles, you know, he's, he's earned the trust of the locker room, guys respect them,
guys want to play for him, guys want to, you know, help him as much as they want to help
themselves. And so I think it's, you know, it's obviously nothing's perfect in football,
nobody, everybody knows that, but, you know, I think he's got a lot of support, and, you know,
everybody would run through a wall for him.
All right, sounds very exciting.
You remember Moneyball, right?
I love Moneyball.
So they pick up Scott Hadterberg, the first basement.
he ended up being a big action star in real life.
I forget the guy, the actor's name.
But he was terrified of field and ground balls,
but everybody in the locker room pumped him up,
and Brad Pitt kept saying, hey, guys, David Justice,
go talk to him, get him excited, you know?
That's what it feels like with Jordan Love.
Everybody's trying to really elevate him
by saying the right thing.
You feel in that or no?
Yeah, I don't think he's going to be terrible.
I think he's going to be fine.
I just, from what I hear from a source in that building is,
three years, there's not a lot of juice.
He's capable.
He's big enough.
His arm's good enough.
He's mobile.
He's a good kid.
There's not a lot of next level stuff.
You're not going to go, wow, like you say for Jalen Hertz or Lamar or Josh Allen.
There's not a lot of wow there.
But I've also heard that about C.J. Stroud at practice so far.
Or what people have seen him, they're like, there's not a lot of wow.
People, by the way, said that about Jared Goff.
Not a lot of wow.
He got to a Super Bowl.
Not a lot of wow in Tom Brady early in New England.
Not fair.
Very fair.
All right.
Next up, this has been a bit of a situation online this morning for Sixers fans.
So the James Hardin Trade Request is out there.
And NBA MVP, Joel Embed, you know, he could be frustrated with the org.
You remember I came on this show a few weeks ago and said he should ask for a trade.
Well, he was recently asked about what he can expect in the future.
And here's what Joel Embed said.
I believe that was this morning or last night.
Here's what he said.
Here's a question.
I just want him with a championship.
you know, whatever it takes.
I don't know where that's going to be.
Whether it's a Philly else, you know,
anywhere else, you know, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that.
I want to see what it feels like to win our first one.
And then pick about, you know, the next one.
Now, he has since backtracked.
His Sixers fans are freaking out.
Oh, this guy wants to win somewhere else.
Get it.
So all these Sixers fans are upset online.
So now he's saying, I was just trolling.
My middle name is Joelle Troel, Embed.
And it's like, bro, you.
you look at that answer. There's no trolling there.
He's speaking matter-of-factly. There's no
Rye Grin or anything.
Joel Embed is setting the stage for
an exit in Philly. I'm just saying...
Oh, by the way. It would not shock me,
and I wouldn't blame him for asking out.
Is Philly a tough town? Are they aggressive?
So you move Joel M. Bid.
Injuries? Hasn't won a second
playoff series? I would have no problem if
Daryl moved him for three number ones
and two high-end starters.
Well, what are you getting with it? By the way,
Bigs get hurt early, they get hurt often.
I like Joel M. Bede a lot.
But Yokic is now in his prime for seven years.
I could argue M.B.'s in it.
But, like Anthony Davis, one more injury, and you're out of it on the other side.
I don't have a problem moving him.
I think there's a time for centers especially.
There is a time.
Yonis, to me, has three more great years.
And then if he has another injury, I would say, and then three good years.
I think we have about six more years of Yianas being the man.
three like elite and then he's going to be he'll get banged up again bigs do too much contact
long run the floor crash hurt and that's not a knock i mean that's six more years of high-end yonnas
but my my take away and beat is yonnas got me a title yokch got me a title his value will never
be higher coming off the MVP season that's my take i don't think it's outrageous i i think maxi
is somebody you keep i don't know i i'm maybe i'm just too flip on this stuff i would move
If you told me, there's eight guys in the NBA I wouldn't move.
I'll just throw that number.
Eight?
I would not move Yokish.
I would not move Yonash.
I would not move Yonis.
I would not move Tatum.
One Minyama, obviously.
I would not.
Well, that doesn't count yet.
Guys in the league.
Okay.
Okay.
There's four guys.
I would absolutely under no circumstances.
Charlotte calls up Green State.
I would not move Steph Curry.
There's five.
Okay.
Those are five guys I'm not moving.
Somebody calls the Clippers.
We want Kauai.
letter. In 30 seconds. What do I get? You could argue Deeran Fox is six for Sacramento. I'm not
moving him. By the way, I don't want to move Jamal Murray. I'm saying I don't want to move.
I got to tell you something. I'd have a hard time moving Devin Booker and Phoenix. I don't think I can
move him. So that's seven guys. I couldn't move Devin Booker. Dude, that guy. Trey Young.
Hard to move. I mean, again, he's a smaller guard. What do I get? Jalen Brunson.
No, okay, there's another one.
I would not move Jalen Brunson.
They finally got their quarterback.
So there's eight guys I would not move.
Jimmy Butler, Miami, probably not a move, but
Jimmy plays...
And he plays hard, and if somebody gave me a boatload of stuff.
Oh, Anthony Edwards in Minnesota.
Oh.
I don't think I'd move him.
Is that nine?
There's nine guys.
There's probably 10 or 12.
We could go through the list later.
But we both agree.
I'd move MV'd.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
No question to ask.
For a great package, yes.
So we did a quick story on tennis in hour two,
and we're going to wrap up with golf in hour three,
and it's because of my guy.
Steph Curry, look at this.
Hole in one at the American Century Championships.
An eagle, unbelievable stuff.
Eagle on 18 to win the tournament.
He had a hole in one earlier on the weekend.
Curry's celebrating.
Colin, listen, there's a lot of athletes right now in sport that we just love.
Patrick Mahomes on this Netflix stuff.
We love Mahomes.
I'm just sorry, but we need to really appreciate the greatness of Curry.
Oh, by the way, there was a basketball hoop on the course.
I don't know if you saw this.
Someone just tossed him a basketball, and he just buries like a deep three-pointer on a golf course.
And then he shot one over his head that nearly went in.
I'm like, this guy really is a Marvel.
And I'm not like watching a ton of golf, but when I see Curry lining up, like, that's exciting.
That's fun.
The guy is cool.
He's really...
He is one of the...
All in the history of pro athletes, productivity, class, decency, family.
He is on a short list.
Yeah, for me, he's my favorite athlete of my lifetime.
It was Magic Johnson.
My son's not a big sports fan.
That would be the person he would take.
I remember when he was younger, he was like he knew Steph Curry was, and he's not a big sports fan.
You do that thing where you're like, Colin, you can invite three guys to athletes dead or alive to a dinner.
Who are you taking?
Like, I'll start with.
Okay, Curry's one.
Let me think about the other two guys.
Like, that's where I am.
I know people like Muhammad Ali, you know, like, and other names.
But for me, Curry's definitely one of those guys in the day.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.

Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

If the New York Giants do not work out a deal with Saquan Barkley, then they have to, NFL league rules,
they have to go franchise tag, which pays him a lot of money for a year, but he's not happy based on some injuries he's had.
So they're kind of making a bet here.
They made the bet, and the bet's on the quarterback.
So they had, you know, they've had GM coaching quarterback stuff over the last several years as Eli aged.
Eli had about a 12-year window where he was really, really elite, and they won two Super Bowls in that window.
Out-duled Brady in the Super Bowl.
And then since that time, if you go to his last year of his prime, his end, Daniel Jones early, it's been eight years of kind of nonsense.
Coaches, GMs moving, their talents mostly on the wrong side of the ball.
So what the Giants are basically saying is we made a bet on Daniel Jones,
some of the key defensive pieces and our coach if they don't sign him.
I still think once you sign Daniel Jones,
Sequin's the most valuable insurance policy in New York.
I think, I don't know, Daniel Jones without Sequin Barclay in 2020,
had his lowest passer rating.
And that's, that's, I'm not saying that's like Patrick Mahomes lowest.
That's Daniel Jones' lowest passer rating.
Yeah.
Can we back up to Eli and just say he was, can we downshift from elite to like good?
He was never a top five quarterback in the league, ever.
Well, there's always about six great ones.
Yeah, okay, fine, he was never a top six quarterback in the league.
It was top ten.
Two Super Bowls.
He had a couple good playoff, really, really, really good playoff runs.
Can we just give him that?
Daniel Jones will never have anything like that.
All you need to know about Eli Manning, take away his 12 prime years.
don't count his first year.
What do you want to 0 and 7 or whatever?
Go to his 12 prime years.
He didn't have as many great prime.
12 prime years is a lot for any pro athlete.
You know, LeBron's is longer, Brady's longer.
Go to the 12 prime years of Eli Manning.
What were the giants before him and what were they after him?
They've run through GMs.
They've run through coaches.
We don't love the decision making of the owner.
They've had a handful of great players.
Eli Manning take away his,
12 prime year.
He kept that puppy afloat for a long time.
Two Super Bowl.
It's not that he won two Super Bowls.
He did it with Mario Manningham and David Tyree.
Yeah, he was, I think they had went four and O because they were wild card teams both times.
He had no amazing Super Bowl runs.
Regular season.
He was, yeah.
Hall of Fame's Hall of Fame.
He was mid.
I've used that twice in the show.
Congrats on Aaron Rogers' great regular seasons.
I'm not a Packers fan.
That was kind of snarky.
Feevo Woman's World Cup preview next.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
