This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Now let's get this party started. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Well, he was one of the great young linebackers in the NFL.
Of course, it's the Steelers, and that's what they do.
They get great defensive players, and he was four years with Pittsburgh, an emerging star linebacker,
and then, of course, suffered a spinal injury in Week 13, 2017 against the Bengals, and it changed his life.
He has a book called Walking Miracle, How Faith, Positive Thinking, and Passion for Football
brought me back from paralysis and helped me find purpose.
when the injury first happened, were you at all bitter or angry at what the sport created?
I wouldn't say I was bitter or angry.
And the reason I say that is because I feel like every single day I put in maximum effort.
I studied a lot of film.
I didn't really cheat the game.
So to me, I didn't feel there was a reason to be bitter.
I was upset more at just the opportunity that I couldn't play anymore.
But just at the game of football, the game of football didn't do anything that made me get hurt.
It was me.
I'd tackle somebody the wrong way and it ended up fracturing my back.
Fear.
When I remember watching it and I'm fearful for you.
Were you ever in this process?
Did you have panic and fear?
Was it part of it?
What you mean panic and fear of the process?
Let's go to the first six weeks and you don't know the outcome and the recovery.
Yeah.
So in the first six weeks, it was definitely, I was,
I would say I was a little bit
unaccepting
and I was kind of
unaware of how significant
what I was dealing with
and the reason I say that is because
I was so positive thinking
so forward thinking I was thinking
hey I'm going to be
I'm going to be alright
I'm going to play football again
I'm going to get better
and then I started
it was probably like a week and a half
two weeks after I got injured
then I had a really bad accident
I ended up like
if you lay on a bed
everybody's been in a hospital bed
before it's like the rail.
I ended up throwing up on the rail
and hit me back in my face.
And then I was like, oh, snap, I'm,
I'm hurt really bad.
I can't even move myself out of the way.
And then I wasn't really fearful.
I was just like, okay, I understand I'm not,
I can't walk right now.
I don't care what I need to do.
I'm about to figure out how I need to walk
and I'm about to go on that path.
And doctors have said that positive outlook
is really, really important.
When you watch a football game now
and you see, I saw when two his hands fenced,
all of us.
it makes us sick to our stomach.
We love this game.
Players, you know,
the regulated level of violence.
When you see something like that,
how does it feel for you?
How does it land for you?
So with Tua situation,
I watch a lot of fighting,
like UFC, MMA, Bellator.
And to me,
when I seen somebody get knocked out before,
that's kind of how they tense up.
So when he got hit,
I knew he just,
the way he got hit was more a reaction of
where his brain got hit,
where he got hit,
which caused him to be unconscious.
I wasn't really scared of him having
a spinal cord injury or anything like that.
I was just more like, oh man,
Tua just had an incident that was kind of similar
to somebody getting knocked down in a UFC fight.
So to me, I was very cautious.
And when I look at anybody that gets hurt
and they'll be on the field for a long time,
I normally look at their legs and just see if they're moving.
And I've seen that Tua was moving.
So I knew that everything was going to be okay.
The biggest thing for me was just focused
that, you know,
mentally he was in the same space.
If you could do it all over again
with the knowledge you have, would you play again?
100%.
I wouldn't even, if I can, right now,
if I just was able
to stop what I was doing,
I mean, not stop what I was doing. Wake up tomorrow
and it was like, hey, Ryan, you're 100%
healthy. I would call Coach Tomlin and like, hey,
I know I won't be able to play this week
versus the Ravens, but hey, let me figure out if I can
work my way back to being on the team.
But the thing is, I'm very happy
what I went through because it gave me a whole different perspective on life.
And the people I'm around now, I've learned so much more through this,
through this journey that I've been on than I would have if I was, if I never got hurt.
You sound grateful for your life, the chances, the opportunities.
Tomlin's a pretty special guy.
He and Mike Vrable looked like they could still play.
This is an interesting season for Mike.
And I had said before the season, and we'll pivot here to some football,
I said, you know, maybe it'll be his first bad season,
but we got to figure out if Kenny Pickett can play.
Yeah.
At some point, let's just let him play.
I'm kind of encouraged by what I see with Pickett.
Yeah.
What do you see?
I think Pickett is the guy for us.
And the reason I say that is because at the beginning,
I know everybody was like, oh, Kenny doesn't look that great,
but he got thrown in in the middle of the season.
That's right.
When he played with receivers that he didn't have chemistry with.
Kids rookie.
He's a rookie.
And to me, after the by week, he's able to get more time with his receivers.
He's able to actually calm down, understand the playbook a little bit better.
And now we're actually seeing the Kenny Pickett that deserves to get drafted first overall,
I mean, the first quarterback in the draft.
He's slowly making good decisions.
He's not turning the ball over.
And I think Kenny was just figuring things out those first few games.
And now he's getting in the groove, and I'm really excited about it.
One of the things Mike Tomlin's a little bit ahead of the curve on this is that the NFL's lightened up.
Mike's always been very pro player.
Pete Carroll's like this.
They're going to let players make mistakes and show enthusiasm.
So George Pickens is a terrific receiver out of George.
It gets all fired up last week.
And Tomlin's like, hey, I got no problems with that.
You know, Antonio Brown.
Jason brought this up.
He said, yeah, nobody had a problem with Antonio.
Brown, it went sideways.
Mike does tend to kind of let
players be players.
Do you think in retrospect they let A.B.
get away with a little too much?
I'm not going to say that they let
AB get away with too much because when he was
at the Steelers, we were winning
championships. He was great. We was winning games.
We was winning division of
championships. And
AB at that time was one of
greatest receivers or the greatest
receiver in the game. So
to me, I feel like he was handling him the right
way. And one thing that coach always used to say is I'd rather say
whoa than sick him. You don't want to tell somebody
you don't want to tell somebody to be a dog when it's coming to play
football. Tell them to slow down a little bit. You got to tell them to
slow down a little bit. And I understand that Coach Tomlin
say, hey, if you're your best self, you know, I can deal with the
consequences of it. But once you're not playing at that
same level, then it's time to move on. And I think that's the
situation that kind of happened with A.B. And a lot of other
people with them not being player coaches or a player
franchises, I think it was harder for them to transition of like the Steelers were able to transition.
So Ohio State's a physical football factory. The Steelers are physical. Your background in football is
physical. I got to tell you, I watch Michigan the last two years push Ohio State around a little.
Yeah. And I don't know Ryan Day, but as a Buckeye, it's a real thing, right? Like, how do you, because you had Mike Tomlin.
Okay, so you're an urban Meyer.
Those teams are physical.
Yeah.
It does feel like the Buckeyes have become a little too receiver oriented and finesse.
That's my interpretation.
How do you change that?
I think, you know, especially with football the time of day, everybody love offense, everybody
love receivers.
And I think that's kind of like the chief effect, like with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs,
they make the game look so pretty everybody wants to copy it.
That's funny.
And they won championships like that.
And I think we can still win.
in championships in that same capacity
because we do have the running game
but I think you know Coach Day
is going to have to just talk to the offense
me the defensive coordinator and just figure out
hey we need figure out
ways to be to bring more
to the run game bring more physicality to
our O line because right now
our O line and our team is really
pass happy and you
should be past happy if you have a Hosman candidate
quarterback yeah I mean if you have the one wide
receiver who's a star Marvin Harrison's son's
unbelievable yeah you know
obviously the best part about football is Sunday.
But what do you miss about, I mean, I've had players tell me before they missed the plane flight home after a win.
Yeah.
Do you miss that, the guys?
Yeah, I definitely miss the guys when it come to college and pro games.
At Ohio State, we used to fly as well.
So we didn't get to be wild on the plane like you are in the NFL in college.
But yeah, I definitely miss the guys.
I definitely just missed the camaraderie.
Just being able to joke around with them after a win.
And even after a loss, how we can all talk on the plane about,
hey, this is how we lost.
This is how we need to get better.
And I feel like a lot of the great teams,
they already talking on the plane,
even after a loss, already trying to figure out ways to get better.
Right.
You know, so I think that's something that I definitely miss
because, you know, not playing football,
you don't have that same type of chemistry as you have.
with teammates.
And I love everybody that I work with, everybody I do things with when it comes to
on my podcast and everything I'm doing.
But it's just it's not the same dynamic as when you're playing football.
So you've had three coaches, all great, Tomlin, Urban Meyer, and Luke Fickle.
So I'm going to ask you about each one.
And you tell me the thing that makes each special because they're all really good.
Luke's going to crush it at Wisconsin.
You know he's going to win big at Wisconsin.
So Mike Tomlin, what makes him special?
So I try to compare Mike Tomlin to like a father figure.
And the reason I say that is because he understands that every person is completely different.
So when I say that is he understands, hey, I need to coach you a certain way.
And then Ryan, I'm going to coach you a certain way.
Ben, I'm going to coach you a certain way.
But he understands how to pull out the best out of each person.
And it's kind of like a father.
I have two boys and I know I can't father them the same way.
That's right.
You know, so I think he does a really good job of coaching in that way.
Urban Meyer, what makes him, what's his secret sauce, the specialty?
I think he does a good job of just understanding what guys want to get out of a situation
and then pulling that out of them.
So, for instance, in college, he understands that most of these guys want to go to the NFL.
And so Urban, he puts them through situations that's really tough for him in college
and just understand if you can overcome that situation in college, you're going to be phenomenal in the league.
So I think he does a really good job of that.
And then he also understands how to out-coach.
a lot of coaches, especially in the college schemes.
And I think he did a really good job of that.
And he does a good job of just bringing in great talent.
Young Luke Fickle, who crushed at Cincinnati,
I think he's going to crush at Wisconsin.
What made him special?
Did you spot it early?
One thing that I think that makes Coach Fickle special is his true love for his guys.
And I would say all my coaches love their guys.
And I would say all my coaches love their guys.
but the one thing I can notice with Coach Fickle,
when he was my linebacker coach,
if we were getting in a fight with one of the offensive guys,
he's like right in the mix with everything.
And I'm not saying he's fighting the players,
but he's right in the mix.
If, you know, we're fighting or the defense and offensive offensive fighting,
he's right in the middle.
Like, he's not pulling us back.
He's getting in the middle,
and he might get punched himself.
Like, he loves guys that much.
He's willing to put itself into the middle of it
and to make sure that his guys are protected.
And I think when you have a coach that you know that,
has your best interest and loves you and it's going to go all out for you.
I think that's why Cincinnati did so well,
and I think that's why you're going to do so well in Wisconsin
because the guys are going to know he's going to do everything in his possible,
everything he possibly can to make sure that they win,
but also that they're in the best situation.
So I saw Trent Dilfer just took a coaching job in college.
Prime time took a job at Colorado.
So players now getting into coaching.
Would you coach?
I think maybe a little bit later.
You know, Prime, it took him a little while.
Trent Dilfer, it took him a little while.
Sure.
And I think maybe a little bit later.
I think a lot of other guys got to play as long as they wanted to.
Not everybody gets to play as long as they want to.
Tom Brady is the one guy that actually gets to play as long as he wants to.
Right.
You know, but most guys, they get to play 10, 15 years, 8 years, as long as they want to.
The game kind of got taken away from me a lot faster than I wanted it to.
And I don't think I would be a great coach right now.
And the reason I say that is because,
I would still be wanting to do things myself.
And I don't think I would genuinely be happy for guys the way I need to be if I was a coach.
You're still a player in your heart.
In my heart right now.
So I think I need a little bit more time to allow me to be more of a coach.
Well, that's great self-awareness.
The book is A Walking Miracle, How Faith, Positive Thinking, Passion for Football,
brought me back from paralysis and helped me find purpose.
It is Ryan Shazier.
I've never met you before.
Absolute pleasure.
I love your optimism and gratitude.
and you're a good guy.
And you've had a tough thing in life and you've overcome it
and you're just crushing right now.
And that's a great story, man.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for having me.
You bet Ryan Chaser.

I don't care which I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clever Taylor the 4th.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-taped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jett.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
J. Mack with the News.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
This is kind of a developing story here.
The U.S. men's national team may be signing Greg Burhalter to an extension.
His contract expires at the end of the year, which is, what, three weeks away?
I want him back.
Do you want him back?
I like you.
Well, we'll talk about it in a sec.
Current players have spoken out in support of Burhalter, staying with the team.
They finished second in the group and lost to Netherlands in the round of 16.
So you and I know continuity matters, right?
You work with a quarterback and a coach.
Of course.
You know, offensive coordinator and a quarterback.
You need these things to bake.
Burrhalter probably needs more time.
Look at Portugal, Colin.
I was just researching this.
So their coach was hired in 2014 after they didn't get out of the group state.
Okay.
They made the round of 16, got eliminated.
This year, they kept the coach, right?
He's been there now eight years.
They're in the quarterfinals against Morocco.
They are in good position to go to the semifinals.
Continuity matters.
From that perspective, I want to keep Burrhalter.
Yeah.
Got a great young court, Colin.
Clean up the defense, found a goalie.
Players are playing better than they've ever played.
You don't like his substitution patterns.
That's small potatoes.
But my issue is, can he develop a striker?
Does his philosophy lend toward offensive football?
Soccer, you know what I mean.
I just worry about that because you know you need to score goals.
That's something we've never been able to do.
Okay, well, some of that's obviously skilled.
Let me throw this out.
That Qatar has offered a very unique substitution opportunity.
you usually get three.
Now you get five,
so it's a little diceier
and more complex substituting
than any other World Cup.
So you were playing guys
that you wouldn't normally play.
So I'll defend him there.
The G.O. Rano situation,
youngest guy on the team,
there have been a lot of stories
about immaturity.
I'll defend him there.
My bigger issue,
because I didn't love all of his substitution patterns,
or substitutions.
My biggest issue was
the set plays were so uninspiring.
I feel like, you know, in football you hire an offensive coordinator.
I feel like they need to be more creative on the corner kick, set pieces.
But I think the substitutions, I think this World Cup was unique,
that you literally had 40% more substitutions that you would normally have.
And I think he experimented a little bit.
Some worked, some did not.
The other key is the 2006 World Cup is here on our turf.
We've got four years.
We automatically qualify so we can throw a bunch of years.
young kids out there and see what they've got in the next three years.
We have a very good...
I mean, listen, you remember the last World Cup, how massive it was for this country?
I think 1994.
Okay.
Basically, the MLS was birthed from that World Cup.
We have some...
I think we have a core of about six to seven.
Between Matt Turner, Pulisic, McKinney, Dest, Tyler Adams.
There's a couple others.
Musa, the 19-year-old is awesome.
I think...
And Giorina, I think we have a core of super talented players.
that's a lot
I don't remember in my life
having this many talented players
and they're just now
they're not even in their prime. Pulisica is
but they're all moving into their prime
and we got out of the group stage
before you could argue they're in their prime
I mean prime is generally 24
to 30 most of these guys are
23 yeah I am curious
are you do you have a lot of your buddies
texting you about soccer
are they super into this? Oh no no my my my
My friends are EPL guy Saturday morning.
No, my buddies love soccer.
Yeah, I have, I'm on several soccer tech chains with a bunch of dads.
Like, people are into it.
When it comes here in 2026, it's probably going to be the biggest sporting event in the country's history.
Is that too much hyperbole?
Because think about it.
Like, we've had the Olympics here.
We've had the World Cup.
Like, everything gets bigger and better.
Oh, I think.
It's going to be massive in 2020.
I'm not one of these.
I came out of this World Cup.
We were outclassed by Netherlands.
Of course, they're.
their best players were in their physical prime.
And they have one of the best coaches.
Like it was, I don't know.
I came out of it and I thought, this is, I thought, a very realistic, out of the group stage without a loss,
lose to an elite power.
That's exactly how we would have guessed it would end.
By the way, I think I saw Morocco has a population.
They're in the quarterfinals of like, between three and five million people.
I just, just putting it out.
Sorry to be a wet blanket.
Moving on back to the NFL.
Hey, this, I thought we were talking about earlier in the show, but it's not huge news.
The Atlanta Falcons, they're making a quarterback change on the by week, Colin.
Marcus Marriota benched.
Welcome in Desmond Ritter, the rookie out of Cincinnati.
People are excited.
Now, Marcus Marietta was horrendous against the Steelers, but it's T.J. Watt, it's Minka Fitzpatrick.
I'm excited to see Ritter.
I like tossing these young quarterbacks in there.
His first regular season action is coming up after the by week.
So you get two weeks to work with the coaches.
Mahomes played week 17.
Lamar Jackson started week 11.
That's a good point.
For a lot of the guys that.
hit, they, you know, they sit around, watch it, understand the league film, and then you get an
opportunity once you're out of the playoffs to go.
Now, here are Ritter's numbers at Cincinnati.
They are massive.
He was incredible.
He struggled a little bit against Alabama, as people do in, uh, bowl, if you remember
that playoff game last year.
I think it was Alabama.
Yeah.
Yeah, he couldn't do much.
What's your excitement level, Desmond Ritter?
Uh, you know, like a 10 super pumped.
You're going to, five.
That's it?
Well, I don't see him.
You know, what do I know?
I don't think Atlanta is very good.
Like, I'm excited for Brock Purdy because I think the story is, if the dude can play, it's a Super Bowl berth.
With this, it's he's limited with talent around him.
I think he's reasonably limited as a player.
I want to watch it.
How's this?
49ers beat the bucks this weekend, and the Falcons have a game that matters next week to try to catch Tampa in the division.
Final story, Rams and Raiders tonight kicking off week 14.
Vegas trending in the right direction, three-game win streak,
offensive juggernaut all of a sudden,
thanks to Josh Jacobson company.
Colin, I do wonder, the Rams put everything into that Seattle game,
right? Bobby Wagner was fired up, Jalen Ramsey, and they lose.
And now we don't know who's starting a quarterback.
Still, we're like six hours to the game.
I think the Raiders blow them out.
Blowout.
Foxbet has it at seven.
Could be John Wolford, maybe Bryce Perkins.
I think the Raiders are really starting to feel it.
Their running game is substantial.
I think they're playing with a lot of confidence.
I think they're getting better every week.
I like what the Raiders are doing.
I feel bad.
Can they still make the playoffs?
Yeah, they got a shot.
Five and seven.
Listen, they got to come close to winning out here.
They need some help from like the jets and the dolphins.
Well, that'll happen.
Settle down.
I do have the over in this one.
I think there's going to be a lot of points.
I think the Rams defense just hemorrhages points.
I don't see them duplicating last week's max effort.
And as you said, I mean, Devante Adams, have you seen his numbers the last year?
You know, he's going to have more yards, potentially, than he ever did with Aaron.
And that's not a shot at Aaron.
It shows you that his coach is designing plays to get him the ball.
And to go back to a point you've been talking about.
Jalen Ramsey had D.K. Metcalfe last week.
Got kind of abused there.
You want to ship him out of town.
Oh, I would try to first for Jay.
Let's see if Adams cooks him up tonight.
Dailan Ramsey, Spotlight is going to be on him, Colin.
Devante Adams is.
I mean, he torched Patrick Certain in overtime.
Remember that move?
A little wiggle.
There's four receivers in this league right now, four.
Stefan Diggs, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, DeMont-Dian.
A.J. Brown, my man.
Okay, so what about Cooper Cup in terms of productivity?
He's hurt. I think he's hurt.
That position, it's stacked.
Christian Watson?
He looks like a game.
Garrett Wilson.
I know. He's talented.
Got to sneak a jet in there.
Yeah, I do.
Jay Mack with a news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Herd Line.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman,
documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

it is remarkable every year. There's like 10 teams need a quarterback. And I mean, you can do
stopgap step, Taylor Heineke. What do we do with Mike White, Zach Wilson? So here's my
Takeaway. Now, this could be a draftable guy or a free agent guy, but to quarterback or not quarterback,
you give me the teams.
Quarterback or not quarterback? What is the answer? All right. So we'll start with the New York Jets.
Should the New York Jets draft a quarterback in next year's draft?
I'm going to say quarterback or not quarterback, quarterback, quarterback. So I think Zach Wilson
doesn't work. I think Mike White is worthy of another year.
I would not draft them in the first round.
But I think if you got to the third or fourth round,
you don't have to worry about the defense or corner.
You are set back there.
And you've got some really nice weapons,
and Brees Hall comes back.
I'd clean up the O line early in the draft,
but about the third round,
I'd go with Mike White going forward.
You have to admit your mistakes in life.
I think Zach's a whiff.
I would draft another quarterback.
Although I do think you could clean up the O line first
and then go get it.
mid-round. Can I give you a name? Jake Hainer. Remember him? Went to Washington, transferred
to Fresno State. Got hurt. You can eye on them. Yep. Third, fourth round. There you go. How about
the Tennessee Titans should they draft a quarterback in next year's draft? They just fired their GM.
Quarterback or not quarterback? I'd say not quarterback. I think they should pursue Aaron Rogers.
They have an elite defense. Derek Henry, how many more big years does he have? You can handle,
you can handle, remember, they have a star young receiver.
They're not paying anything to right now, Traylon Burks.
They should draft another receiver.
So you'll be able to handle most of their big cap hits are on the defensive side,
draft some offense, right?
I think I'd go get Aaron Rogers.
Okay.
What if that fails?
Who's your backup?
I mean, do you resign?
Then maybe you do another year or two year.
It's not like Tanniel has a huge market.
I think they should pursue Aaron.
I mean, all they do is make the playoffs of them.
All right. Anyways, oh, geez, this one's tough.
Should the Indianapolis Colts draft a quarterback?
Yeah, and I mean, they've got Matt Ryan's too old.
Sam Elegant is too average.
Nick Foles is a backup.
I think they have to get dynamic.
I would say draft a quarterback.
Okay.
Michael Pittman's a good receiver.
Alec Pierce appears to be developing.
He'll be a nice two.
You got a couple of nice receivers.
You're not paying anything to.
I just think they need to be more dynamic.
offensively. They always feel like
they're light on weapons. I'd like
to see a guy that can move.
Rivers couldn't.
Matt Ryan couldn't. Went
could. He could be reckless. But he did have
27 TD 7 picks. I think they need
to get more athletic at the position.
What about an offensive line? They could order one of those
as well. Next up,
this is the most interesting one. To quarterback
or not quarterback, Houston
Texans, who
are almost locked up the number one pick in the draft.
No, they got two backups.
Davis Mills and Kyle Allen are backups.
Go get whoever your scouting department says is the guy.
3.17 and 1.
It's not a good organization.
I feel bad for the kid that gets drafted,
but they do have a star back in Pierce.
And I think the bottom line is they've got some picks.
Davis Mills throws a nice football,
but at some point, most people are like it doesn't work.
They got two backups.
So you can keep those guys on.
They may have to play a little bit next year,
but I think they're the obvious.
Go get a dude.
Okay.
So we discussed it with Sean Payton.
Do you do quarterback at one?
Yeah.
Or do you say, let's go defense.
We're going to be terrible anyway, Caleb Williams in 24.
That's certainly an opportunity.
I mean, how long can you ask your fan base to watch the worst team in the league?
You know, they got the Astros.
They don't need to watch football.
Yeah, to quarterback or not quarterback?
New York Giants, should they draft a quarterback in 2020?
I would.
They didn't pick up Daniel Jones' fifth year option.
Brian Dable, this isn't his guy.
It's not the GM's guy.
I mean, he's 19, 29 and 1.
Some of this is the O line outside of left tackle's bad.
The previous GM wasn't very strong.
I just don't see it.
I thought he was a reach at six at a Duke.
But, you know, the Giants can be patient.
They were, they have, you know, it's for a big New York team.
They can be, with all that media and attention and pressure, you know, they tend to be kind of patient sometimes.
I think I'd move on.
I mean, you see the emergence of Jalen Hertz.
I don't know.
We previously have talked about Jimmy G as a potential landing spot.
Now, due to the injury, he's not.
I mean, if you want to stick with him, fine.
But when you have to start complaining constantly about play calling, you don't have a guy.
You just don't have the guy.
Nobody's talking about play calling with Burrow and Herbert.
This is an interesting one for the 18 Detroit Lions fans out there to quarterback or not quarterback.
What do the lions do?
No, I mean, the Lions are one of the more entertaining offenses in the league.
Jared Goff is not the issue.
We've been saying this all year.
This defense is atrocious.
Isn't Goff limited?
What's your ceiling with him?
Can you get to the playoffs or just be plucky and seven and dead?
No, you can get to the playoffs.
Okay.
I think you can get to the playoffs.
Yeah, I mean, I again, I don't think he's the issue.
I think they have nice offensive personnel.
They're six in the league in scoring.
And I also think their offensive lines talented and mostly young.
And that means Goff will have time to throw.
When Jared has time to throw in L.A.
he's a really good, he's Matt Ryan with a better arm.
So I got no problems with golf.
Okay.
Let's move on to a...
Also, by the way, you're going to get that Alabama receiver who you drafted last year.
He played a little bit last week.
He's expected to play this weekend.
He can get one target or something, but he could emerge as a star, so you'd have
Amarron St. Brown and him.
And they've got multiple picks.
They have the Rams pick.
So I think Detroit's offense is not the issue.
Yeah.
All right.
The Green Bay Packers, should they draft the quarterback in this year's draft?
No, this is draft.
Don't draft the quarterback.
Either stay with Aaron or let Jordan Love can play.
Let Jordan Love play.
This is, I'm, that is not your issue.
Your issue, I think, is more than anybody wants to acknowledge the coach.
The defense is underwhelmed.
The special teams are never tight.
And I don't even think he gets the ball to the right guy enough, Aaron Jones.
So I think there's issues here.
I'd play Jordan Love the rest of the way.
They're not going to do it, but do not draft a quarterback.
This is why we love talking quarterbacks.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Draft quarterback.
Yes, get one. Kyle Trask is applauding.
So wait, Tom Brady, not coming back.
No, he's not. He's either going to retire or go somewhere else.
I don't think he's coming back.
He put his marriage on this.
Do you think he's coming back?
I mean, he basically said,
He doesn't even have the right coach.
Well, his wife essentially broke up with him because he couldn't stop playing football.
Why would he stop now?
Well, I'm saying stopping in Tampa.
Oh, I'm not saying stop football.
I'm saying stopping in Tampa.
Yeah.
I like that.
All right, let's go on.
We're running out of time here.
Carolina Panthers.
Draft the quarterback?
Get a quarterback.
Do you know how many quarterbacks?
I read this.
The Panthers have used seven different quarterbacks since Cam left.
I was looking at two hours ago.
And finally, New Orleans Saints.
Oh, draft a quarterback.
Do you know they have not drafted a quarterback in the first two rounds?
Since 1971, Archie Manning.
Wow.
Like, get it right.
And stop talking yourself into Andy Dalton, Taysam Hill, and James Winston.
Get those guys.
Go get a guy.
I think I would do everything.
everything. I think Will Levis would be interesting. Southern
Kid, down in New Orleans.
I think he's talented. Oliva's really good at the
wide receiver spot. Well, they have,
their scouting isn't a problem. Their owner's not a problem.
Their personnel's not a problem. See you tomorrow.
