This is an IHeart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no-nonsense breakdowns of the
biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris.
She can win.
She's an outsider to win the French fame.
And she likes Clay.

One of the questions is which player will have the most rushing yards this week?
James Cook, Cushan Jenkins, Christian McCaffrey, or Sequin Barkley.
Colin, I know the answer. Who you got?
I like James Cook.
They're going to get some possessions.
You know, when you take a good team up a couple of stinging losses, they play mad.
I think Buffalo is going to play well this weekend.
Albert Breyer covering the NFL Monday morning quarterback for over 20 years.
Hey, let's, um, the Ravens suddenly, I mean, we saw last night, Albert,
just getting Joe Alt back at left tackle, the Chargers could run.
the ball to the left side and Herbert was magic.
The Ravens are bringing back the band this weekend
at home. I think they're going to go on a heater.
What do you think?
Yeah, I mean, I think there's been a lot of those narratives
out there, column, what's wrong with the Ravens?
Look at the inactive list. You'll see exactly what's wrong with the
Ravens. Lamar Jackson was out. Kyle Hamilton was out.
Royquon Smith was out. And now
they've got a chance to lock in. Now, they've dealt
themselves, they've dug themselves quite a hole to dig out
of at one and five, but I'm going to read the schedule D.
I have it in front of me. They play the Bears this week.
Then they're at Miami, at Minnesota,
at Cleveland, and then they play the Jets.
There's a shot, and I'm not saying it's the layup,
but there's a pretty good shot. You can get through that at 5 and 0.
Yep. And then on Thanksgiving night,
you're going to have the Bengals coming in,
who could be playing really well at that point, too,
with Joe Flacco, a quarterback with a 6 and 5 record.
And then they go into a critical stretch where they play the Bengals,
the Steelers, then the Bengals again,
then the Patriots, then the Packers,
So the schedule to stiffen down the stretch, but they've got a real chance here to build some momentum to get Lamar Jackson back in the groove.
Haveroquine Smith and Kyle Hamilton back in the middle of that defense.
You have Ronnie Stanley getting healthier left tackle.
I would not dismiss the Ravens as a contender.
Again, I think most of their issues just stem to what was on the inactive list over the last month.
That's why they haven't played as well.
And I think they've got a real chance here to go on a run based on how they're.
schedule sets up you and i agree so i think one of the real fascinating games dallas it's a truth serum
game against denver so they beat the giants and the jets and they tied the packers and almost beat
philly and then they get shelled by the bears and lose a fourth quarter lead to the panthers so
we don't know what they are denver's got their own issues they can't hit the long ball uh they trail
all the time so it's funny the two best rosters in the nfl i would argue are eagles denver maybe
Detroit and both the Eagles and the Broncos don't feel good right now about their offense.
All your sourcing, I know that Sean loves Bownecks, but it has been really, much like Jaylen,
really uneven for the Broncos offense.
Why do you think?
What do you hear?
Yeah, I mean, I think there's a year of tape on them, and I think that's definitely a factor
in how they're deploying Bo Nix and teams have a better handle on how to deal with them now.
You know, certainly I think, you know, you look at the roster, and I think their skill position
talent is good, not great.
Cortland Sutton, Marvin Mims are good players.
Are they great players?
I don't know.
You know, what they've got in the backfield with J.K. Dobbins and R.J. Harvey.
You know, they really need Poe Nix to go out there and play point guard at a high level
because they're balanced.
They don't have superstars.
And, you know, I think the encouraging thing is down the stretch of some of these games,
down the stretch of the Giants game, down the stretch of the Philly game,
we've seen Bo Nix makes some big-time throws.
Like Bo Nix's two throws at the end of that Giants game were as big as big gets, right?
Like there's the one right down the pipe to Marvin Mims.
He finds Mims sitting down in the zone,
and then he hits Sutton on the sideline man coverage to set up the game-winning field goal.
How do you make that happen more consistently?
I think that's what they're searching for.
And this is going to be a fascinating week to see it because this should be,
like at least when you're talking about that singular matchup,
Denver offense versus Dallas defense,
this should be where Denver has a chance to get themselves back on track.
I mean,
I think this is a real strength versus strength game
where you've got an outstanding Dallas offense
with a quarterback and Dak Prescott playing at an MVP level,
two receivers in Lamb and Pickens who have number one type ability
going against a Denver defense that's fantastic, right?
So you have strength on strength there.
I think on the other side now,
Denver's got that opportunity to really assert themselves offensively.
It'll be interesting to see whether or not they can do it.

Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name,
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
for people to call in and say, hey Jonas,
and then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast,
Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

So, you know, I look at Aaron facing the Packers.
There was a lot made that when he came back from that darkness retreat, he was surprised
they let him go.
How he was surprised, I don't know.
But it was time.
Jordan Love had been in the building.
You want to get a couple of years.
on that rookie deal.
Do you think Aaron and the Packers are in a
tense place or time heals all wounds with them?
I think
Aaron's relationships with a lot of people in that building
are actually still pretty good.
Here's what I respect about Aaron.
And I will say this.
Like, he's not perfect, right?
But what I've always respected about Aaron
is that when he punches, he punches up.
He doesn't punch down.
generally his issues have been either with the head coach or with front office people so like when you're
talking about like his relationships in the building in general like the trainers the equipment guys
the wait staff like some of his teammates down the line i think all those people still love him
the coaching staff he had a good relationship with matt lefleur matt lefleur i mean for all the great
things that he's done over over seven years in green bay maybe the most important thing he did was
manage the relationship and be the buffer between Aaron Rogers in the front office.
So I think 95% of Aaron Rogers' relationships are still really good.
But then there are a couple that weren't.
And so Brian Gutakunst is still there as the general manager.
That was one relationship that was certainly strained.
Mark Murphy was the president.
He's not the president anymore, so he's gone.
So, like, I think there's going to be a lot of handshake
and hugs for Aaron Rogers waiting on the other sideline on Sunday when the Packers come into
Pittsburgh. And then maybe when the game starts, a few glares up to the sweet level
if he can throw a touchdown pass or two. Yeah, that's funny. I got to tell you, the trade
deadline is, it's very tantalizing. My take has always been, if you're a Super Bowl-worthy
team. Or you have a star quarterback. Buffalo. Old Matt Stafford.
Like, I love the Green Bay Micah move, not a trade deadline move. That's a big swing. That's a Super Bowl
roster. Then I hear about, well, the Giants want to slow down. Like, the Raiders want to
slow down. That's just job retainment. Like, is there, if I said to you one or two teams
that you're like, I mean, I think Buffalo, maybe if they win convincingly this weekend,
no and maybe they're getting people back i i just feel like buffalo needs a perimeter weapon and an
interior defensive weapon i don't know why i just think buffalo looks at kansas city albert you know how
this game works they're watching the chiefs thinking we don't match up right now with kansas city
yeah and kansas city's playing really well i think patrick mahomes might be the mvp of the league
right now they're playing great football um i think you know a lot of us could see this coming now
they've got rashi rice back i think the chiefs are speaking of
team is going on a heater. I think they're going to go on one now too. Yeah, and I think there's a lot
of pressure on people in Buffalo because they've paid a lot of that core now. You know, so now you've
got the guys that you're locked in with. This is sort of the 2.0 era for Josh Allen in Buffalo.
And so you need guys like Ed Alvar and Greg Rousseau and Torel Bernard and Kahliaqqq,
you know, you need those guys to perform at a high level. Could they use another weapon to make
their offense a little bit more dynamic. I think if that was available to them, they would certainly
look at it. And if it was a young number one or a guy who had potential to become number one,
then I think they would explore it. So who is that? You know, I think you call New Orleans about
Chris Oliva. I think you call Minnesota about Jordan Addison just to see if there's any interest
at all. Sure. Sure. Because those guys are coming close to the end of their rookie deals. I think both
those guys wind up staying where they're at. I think both those guys wind up extended. But those are,
those are guys I think you would look at if you were Buffalo and say maybe we need to get a little
bit more dynamic on the outside. Another name I would watch a little bit further down the line for
Buffalo, it could be Rashid Shaheed from New Orleans. The one thing Buffalo doesn't have on offense right
now is a real field stretcher. I think if you look at the way that other teams have played them
over the course of the first month and a half of the season, they're not as concerned about
Josh Allen getting the ball down the field. So bringing in a burner like Shaheed, I think,
think could be an interesting play if you're Buffalo.
The Rams are another team I would watch on this front.
You know, they've been aggressive in the back.
They've been aggressive in the past.
They've really kept their powder dry with the draft picks.
They've now got a lot of draft capital to work with.
They've got a good young core of players.
Could they maybe add a corner?
I think there could be an interesting move there for the Rams.
If they're willing to take a swing, and historically, they've been willing to take swings.
Hey, one more question.
I know the game's over.
They flirted with Aaron.
They wanted Darnold, but not at that price.
They had Daniel Jones in the building.
They settled for Carson Wentz.
What?
I mean, the messaging on J.J. McCarthy.
Like Kevin O'Connell after the game, I'm not trying to reach.
I don't want to say something that is not true.
But, man, it's got a smoke-fire feel to it, doesn't it?
Or is he still really nursing an injury?
They're still trying to figure it out, figure out what they've gotten him.
You know, and I think that's just the reality.
be the situation he hasn't played enough, you know? And so, look, here's the timeline, right? So on Tuesday
morning, they get him out there. They put him out there at practice last week. On Tuesday, they,
they get him out there in the practice field. He says he doesn't feel quite right. They make the
decision, we're just going to wait another week. And really the reason why is if J.J. McCarthy had
50 or 100 starts, they would look at it and say, yeah, it makes sense to hobble him out there.
He's better than Carson wants, even at 80%.
Let's just throw him out there.
But as it stands right now,
I think the important thing for Kevin O'Connell, right or wrong,
and what he's doing and trying to develop J.J. McCarthy is they want to build his confidence up.
And they felt like, you know, in facing Jesse Mentor's defense on the road on a short week,
they could do more damage by good by just forcing him out there.
So they decide to play safe on this one.
and they're going to start him against Detroit,
which is a heck of a way for him to come back, right?
And they're going to give him some runway.
You know, I think Kevin O'Connell, Quasi Adelphamensa,
all the people in that building understand they've got a roster
that can compete for a championship over the next few years.
So they need to make a, they need to get a really clean read
on who J.J. McCarthy is for the rest of the year.
At the same time, they've got to give their team the best answer at quarterback, right, for right now.
So I think JJ comes back in.
He starts.
I think they expect that.
he'll get better over the course of the year.
They expect that he can build on that fourth quarter he had against Chicago.
They expect that he can learn from some of the mistakes that he made against Atlanta.
You know, and then we'll see what he's like.
We'll see how he plays over the next month or two.
But I don't think the book is closed yet on who J.J. McCarthy is going to be as the Vikings quarterback.
Yeah. Albert Brewer, Monday morning quarterback.
Thanks, buddy.
You got a call him.
Yeah.
Jay Mack, you, me and Albert Breer
wholeheartedly agree on the Baltimore Ravens.
At home, have to win.
It's not that Chicago doesn't want to win.
They don't have to win.
Baltimore's got to go in a four or five game winning streak.
Everybody's back.
NFC teams struggle with Lamar.
NFC teams mostly get blown out in Baltimore against Lamar.
And they're not getting like a guy back.
Just look at what Joe Alt.
just Joe Alt back to the Chargers last night.
One guy changed their run game, and Herbert had an extra beat.
What if you get a safety and your top linebacker and your left tackle and Lamar Jackson,
that's the difference between losing by 10 and winning by 15?
Yeah, no, no, you're spot on there.
Remember, I was on the Chargers two weeks ago, or last week against the Colts.
They were down, I think, 23 to 3 at halftime.
Last night, the Chargers did not punt.
Like the league is crazy, and you see some of these radical swings, and I think I'm with you.
I think the Eagles really show up this week, and I think the Ravens do as well.
J-Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no, turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
All right, Colin, we got to go back to Aaron Rogers.
They got the big Sunday night football game, Packers against Aaron Rogers and the Steelers.
We heard from the floor.
We heard from Rogers, and now Jordan Love is going to chime in on his relationship.
with Aaron Rogers.
A lot of it is just, you know, saying good luck throughout the season.
You know, A-Raw texts me and was, you know, talking about some of the plays we've been running
and some of my footwork, things like that, complimenting me.
So, you know, obviously, it's great to be able to hear for him.
You know, I got so much respect for him.
And, you know, anytime, you know, he gives me pointers, things like that, you know,
that's the stuff.
You want to get feedback from a legend like that.
I'm looking forward to that one.
That's going to be a good game.
Yeah.
I feel like I need to, I know that Rogers,
is soaking up a lot of coverage this week.
I just want to remind people, according to pro football focus.
Okay.
Aaron Rogers grading out as the 24th of 36 quarterbacks.
I know.
You hate it.
No, I just don't.
I got nothing against PFF, but that's not what my eyes tell me.
I think Aaron's fine.
Yeah, I mean, Joe Flaccoe, my bigger issue is what's wrong with the defense?
It's the highest paid defense for the fourth year in a row.
What's wrong with a defense?
Aaron's fine.
Is he?
Well, I thought last week.
the one time he wanted to go really deep, he got burned.
Like, don't throw deep. That's not what this offense is.
This offense is 15 yards in.
The run game is better.
And I also think quarterbacks can elevate an O line.
And Aaron has a way, smartly at the offensive line, to audible out of trouble,
audible into plays that work.
Do you think it's a coincidence?
The O line's actually playing well in Pittsburgh for the first time in six years?
I think that's directly connected to Aaron Rogers.
So this is the problem.
How do you square this with Rogers facing the Jets defense, which is abysmal?
We know that.
The Seahawks defense, he did not cook.
They lost.
The Patriots defense.
He was okay in that game.
He didn't win it.
Remember, Patriots had five turnovers.
Then you face the Vikings in London, as we saw last night, the Vikings defense is a joke.
Okay?
The Cleveland Brown's defense doesn't travel, didn't show up in Pittsburgh after the London trip.
And then the Bengals last week.
He destroyed them, but the Bengals can't stop anybody.
So all of a sudden, now you've got to face a top ten.
defense, Colin, after not facing one for
five weeks, six weeks?
I think this is going to be a bit of a rude
awakening for Rogers.
Didn't they have a couple extra days to prep?
Has it, Mike Tomlino has been good?
Monday night football, extra days to prep.
He's not good on Thursday, but he's good
the following Sunday. He's going to have them all
juiced up. That's fine.
Mike Parsons might have something to say about that,
Colin. I like the Packers here.
I think we might be on opposite sides.
Next up, Sequin Barkley
remains one of the big mysteries in the NFL.
Remember last year, 2,000 yards from scrimmage,
win the Super Bowl, offensive MVP, blah, blah, blah.
Colin, his numbers are down so dramatically.
It's like what everybody thinks is going to happen
in the stock market here in America.
Barclay's falling off a cliff.
Doesn't have a hundred-yard game this season.
But Seekwon said IDGAF.
Give me the wins.
I'm really not a big number guy.
Never really was good in numbers in school either.
People use numbers to, you know, what's the saying, men lie, women lie, numbers don't.
I don't really get caught up in that.
I don't think it defines me as a player.
I still know what I bring to the table.
But I do know we have to be more efficient in the run game, and that's something that we're focusing on.
But at the end of the day, our whole goal is to go six and two and win another football game.
My kind of guy doesn't worry about stats.
He worries about being big in big spots.
I also think their old line's been beat up, so I think some of it's just injury-related.
I mean, I thought it was pretty remarkable last night.
Just adding Joe Alt literally changed the entire Chargers offense.
They could run, never punted, one guy.
So I think a lot of this stuff, we tend to forget the value of the offensive line because we don't talk about them.
We don't know their names.
We don't buy their jerseys.
it is remarkable the difference, like the Giants,
when Andrew Thomas is up,
and when Andrew Thomas is not available,
like it's a different offense.
So I think the healthier the O-line gets,
the more Sequan reverts back to last year.
I do wonder, is there such thing as a double revenge spot?
You know, Sequin lost famously to the Giants two weeks ago.
He didn't do jack squat.
And also, they moved off of him to keep Daniel Jones,
who they then ran off.
I think this, if Seacuan doesn't,
pop here, I'll start to legitimately be concerned that, like, maybe this just isn't happening this
year, Colin.
I don't, does he have the pop of Bijon of Christian McCaffrey?
I have not seen it.
Yeah, I mean, you know, running backs get banged up.
There is arm fatigue in baseball.
Is there running back fatigue?
I mean, Jonathan Taylor wasn't happy a couple of years ago.
Now he's got a better offensive line, a great tight end.
Jonathan Taylor's the happiest guy in the world.
It is hard to be, you know, it's, you also.
sometimes you get a different offensive coordinator like the Eagles.
Every year they get a new one.
Well, that's right.
And offensive coordinators change touches.
Tony Gonzalez used always tell me that.
He goes, the fans don't understand.
You get a new offensive coordinator.
They have favorite plays, favorite sets.
It doesn't.
He goes, you think, oh, Tony Gonzalez.
He goes, I had an offensive coordinator that didn't throw to the tight end.
He goes, I want to add in there.
He goes, you just think they look at your personnel.
He goes, some guys have an offense, and they don't change it based on the personnel.
So I think Sequan's fine.
All right, we'll wrap up with World Series Game One action starts tonight on Fox.
Blue Jays, Dodgers, everybody's excited.
Now, two years ago, or two off-season ago, rather,
Shohay Otani was being rumored to link to the Blue Jays.
And there was a big social media scandal.
Is he on a flight to Toronto?
Is he going to sign a deal?
I don't know if you remember this, Colin.
He ended up not being on the flight and signed with the Dodgers.
while Jay's manager John Schneider
poked at the free agent pursuit.
You felt good about it, you know,
and you felt you felt good about the feedback he was giving
about our organization and opportunity here.
But you never really know what a player is feeling in free agency,
and there's a lot of things that have to line up for them personally too.
So you can't really think about what if.
You know, you think about the 26th that we have.
He's a great player.
I'll say it again.
I hope he brought his hat.
the Blue Jay hat that he took from us in our meeting.
I hope he brought it back finally.
And the jacket for decoy.
It's like, give us our stuff back already.
Well, I mean, I think from a business standpoint,
the proximity to the Pacific Rim,
the Dodgers and the Angels are better fits.
But I think, you know, Toronto is a great North American city.
They're very well run.
I'm telling you, man, Toronto, they're almost like,
they're a little bit like Milwaukee, but I think better at the plate.
I don't know what the numbers say.
I feel like they're Milwaukee, but a little bit more dangerous in that two, three, four spot.
Maybe the numbers don't belie that, but that's what it feels like to me.
They'll give the Dodgers more trouble.
So apparently, you know, everything happens for a reason.
Some people believe that.
So after whiffing on Otani, Blue Jays ended up with Vlad Guerrero, not a bad consolation prize, right?
he's now like their superstar they love him
and who knows maybe he's the MVP of the
World Series and it's like hey this is what was meant to be
not Otani but we needed
Vlad as our guy leading us
I'll still take the Dodgers in five
I think you said six was it
Dodgers in six
the key is tonight
Dodgers very good game one
playoff team but
Blue Jays just had a long series
is that stuff matter
in baseball Dodgers
are well rested or are they rustic
rested. Well, the Dodgers starters
are ready to go. So, I mean, Snell and
Yoshi, everybody's ready to go.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by. The Herdline News.
Yeah, Dodgers, pitchers, starters are more
rested. Probably an advantage.
His picks.
J-Mack. Tomorrow's headlines
today. Next.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd
weekdays at noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the,
of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers
was...
This is how you guys remember
it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different
memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast
where people could call in
and say, hey Jonas.
And then I wrote down
on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas,
and offered it up
as a potential title
for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that,
guys.

Another podcast
from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the plays, the controversies,
and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions,
the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs,
the moments that never make the highlight real.
viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.

Rachel Nichols stopped by the show twice this week.
Obviously her second trip.
to our show was regarding the NBA scandal of note.
They've got a couple of things, a couple crises,
if you want to call it that, that they're dealing with right now.
The Clipper-Kawai story, which I'm not fascinated with,
but I think the reporting on it's been excellent, Pablo Tori.
And then the other story yesterday,
which was hard to wrap your brain around,
but Damon Jones and Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups,
some massive, there's two separate cases.
One, smaller in terms of number of people is the NBA gambling stuff.
The poker stuff, which includes Lacosa Nostra.
I didn't know it still existed or didn't think it was very vibrant today in the poker stuff.
Now there's accusations that Chauncey Billups is part of both.
They're just accusations.
But throughout the course of the weekend and next week, we'll keep you updated on the very latest.
there's a real hunger for that story.
But it is time to make J-Mac make the big picks.
We call this segment tomorrow's headlines today.
What's the headline?
Niners and the Texans on a wonky weird numbers weekend.
Not a lot of great games.
I think this one certainly qualifies probably for some reasons you're going to find out here shortly.
The headline for Texans Niners will be.
Love out the way.
49ers goal.
held up in Houston. Give me the Texans, Colin. Look at how we play on recent current events there.
Yeah, nice to hear you laughing. So D'Amico Ryan's here. First matchup against the Niners since leaving Sanfran.
Colin, I'm going to ask you, like, listen, you're a defensive coordinator. You spent time with Shanahan.
You're seeing these guys in practice. If anybody knows what Shanahan wants to do, it's D'Amico Ryan's.
I think that's a big edge for this great Texans defense. They got one of the best front sevens in the league, arguably the best front four.
I think the Niners struggle here a little bit.
I'm with you.
I think you said low scoring game earlier,
especially without Nico Collins and Christian Kirk.
There's rumors that Houston could start two rookies on the outside.
Higgins and Noel, like I'm like, whoa, that's a bit of a surprise.
I'll go 17-13-ish Texans get to win.
Lines moving toward three.
This could close Texans three, which I don't love.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Brown's Patriots, I really like New England in this spot.
Yes, Colin.
You know, sometimes when we agree, it's like 78% hitting the headline for Browns against the Patriots will be.
Cancelled coverage.
Brown's not protected from mayhem.
Colin, we love Drake May here.
I know he's going to the Hall of Fame.
I'm going to start calling him Drake Mahomes.
That's how good Drake May has been, right?
Number one deep ball throw in their league, Colin.
Are you ready for this stat?
20 plus yard air passes.
Drake May 14 of 18 this season.
Wow. That's insane with five touchdowns. And, oh, by the way, the Browns, they're susceptible to getting beat deep.
Again, this Cleveland defense does not really travel. That's been a big issue for them.
You're right. And you get the rookie quarterback going up against Vrable. And here's the other stat I love. I haven't seen or heard this anywhere.
So we saw the Raiders last week get really smashed. Guess what? They were going into their buy.
Okay, maybe they were already mentally checked out. You know who else we saw a struggle?
Jacksonville. God, really, their doors blown.
loan off. They were heading into a buy. The Cleveland Browns have a buy next week, Colin. They've
been on a long one. They had road games. They had London. They had to go travel. Now you get
one more trip before the buy. I think they kind of get smashed here by the Patriots.
Tomorrow's headlines today. This was a stayaway game for me. Giants at the Eagles,
can they sweep Philly? Well, why did you stay away, Colin? I just curious.
Philly's going to eventually figure out their run game.
Yeah. So I would agree they're a Jekyll and I team. The headline for Eagles Giants. The rematch
will be Kwan, but not forgotten. Barclay sets a reminder for Giants. This has to be the Seekuan
Barkley game. Colin, this is a weird Eagle stat. Are you ready for this? So they lead the league
in three and out punts. Number one in the NFL. They're also number one in Red Zone touchdown
efficiency? What? I don't really know what's going on with this team. It could be, as you
noted that they're on another offensive coordinator.
You know, they basically change them like their underwear every season.
And now they're just struggling on the down to down.
This AJ Brown stuff is concerning.
Everybody's waiting right now to see if he practices today and will be a go this weekend.
But at some point, they got to figure this out.
Once they move the ball, they're great.
But getting started, they're like that old car that can't really get going.
Meanwhile, they're facing a Giants team that has been lights out in the first quarter
with Dart and Day Bowl scheming up stuff.
Remember, they grabbed these early leads.
And can they hold on?
I'm going to Eagles here, but I don't feel amazing about it.
All right.
I took the over on Dolphins at the Falcons.
Atlanta at home, it's a little bit of a track team.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Miami at the ATL.
What do you got?
You know, I was texting you earlier this week.
One of my big things in the league this year is it's back to a ground and pound.
Running is so instrumental the way defenses are adjusting.
Who does that give the edge to here?
The headline will be for FAPS.
Falcons, dolphins, life is to a short.
Dolphins clock out mid-season.
This is a Miami defense, Colin, cannot stop the run.
Seven running backs they face the season.
Five have gone over 100 yards.
Jonathan Taylor was at 98.
Like I'm just telling you, Bijan should be in line to carry your fantasy team this weekend.
And, you know, the headline here, clock out mid-season, has Miami quit?
I mean, I think we saw some of that in the second half against the Browns.
Can the Falcons run away and hide?
we'll see how Michael Penix in that knee holds up.
It sounds like he's going to be a go, not an issue.
Miami's pass rush isn't great.
I just want to see the Atlanta offense that cooked Washington, right,
that went up and down the field against the bills.
That's the one I want to see at home.
And by the way, if Tampa slips up against the Saints and Atlanta wins this,
we've got a divisional race that kind of is fun.
Yeah.
Finally, tomorrow's headlines today.
A really interesting game.
Cowboys at the Denver Broncos.
Yeah, I'd say this is probably.
the second best game. I'm fascinated by it. I'm starting to come around on the Cowboys. I can't
believe it. The headline for Dallas Denver will be. Shot happens. 350-yard Dackery dropped onto the field.
Colin, this is about Dak Prescott. How about this? I saw a funny stat. The two best
offenses in the league are the Dallas Cowboys and whoever's playing Dallas because the defense is
so leaky. Sounds like Trayvon Diggs I'm reading here in the last hour could be going
the IR? I don't know what happened at his house.
Something went down. Now he's banged up. He's out.
So they're going to hemorrhage points on the back end.
But man, you know what Dak Prescott cooks.
That's man-to-man defense.
Throwing to Lamb who can get open and Pickens, who's a cheat code.
Denver plays a lot of man, Colin.
I think this matchup should,
Dak should have another 350-yard game here.
The question is, can the Cowboys defense get enough stops to get the win?
I'll take a little Dallas on the money line.
And if the Eagles slip up,
I'm just telling you, if you want the Cowboys,
boys, Colin, bet them now to win the NFCs because things could go their way this weekend,
which is honestly, one of the bigger stories in the league.
We thought this team was headed downhill.
I thought it was a four to five win team.
Yeah.
No, not, not.
And I was a fan of what was it, the August Green Bay, Micah Trade.
Like, I was a fan of it getting two first round picks.
Albert Breer, who was on about a half hour ago, his thoughts on that struggling Boe Nix Broncos' offense and that leaky
Dallas defense.
I think this is a real
strength versus strength game
where you've got
an outstanding Dallas offense
with a quarterback
and Dak Prescott
playing at an MVP level,
two receivers in Lamb
and Pickens who have
number one type ability
going against the Denver defense
that's fantastic, right?
So you have strength
on strength there.
I think on the other side now,
Denver's got that opportunity
to really assert themselves
offensively.
It'll be interesting to see
whether or not they can do it.
You know,
it's interesting with Sean Payton.
You know, Bo Nix, if you go to Russell Wilson's prime, what did he do?
He ran around and, you know, could struggle over the middle of the field.
Bo Nix now, young guy, runs around really well, has struggled on the deep ball.
Russell was very good on the deep ball early, but never really saw the middle of the field.
You know, there's some complaints that, you know, Bo Nix is little run-reliant, has to move, hasn't been as good from the pocket, Greg Kosell says.
I tend to think if you can run as a quarterback, do it for the first two years, then scale back on it.
But for two years, as you try to decipher NFL defenses, pick up first downs, use your legs.
By year three, don't run as much.
learned to slide.
But I think it's almost like when you go to work at a new company the first two years,
just live at the office.
Now, I tell my kids in your 20s, you've got the energy.
Live at the office.
30s, start a family.
40s, you lose energy.
In the NFL, when you're a young quarterback, these defenses are so much tighter and well-coats
than college, run, move the chains, move the sticks, pick up first downs.
It's going to be choppy.
You know, people look at Mahomes, well,
Mahomes didn't have to play his first year.
So you didn't get those five or six really sloppy, ugly, turnover-prone starts.
You know, he had Alex Smith, Andy Reid,
and inherited Travis Kelsey closer to his prime, or in his prime.
All right, first things first is around the corner.
World Series tonight, Dodgers and the Blue Jays, stars, power hitters,
everywhere.
Cy Young winners.
Hey, guys, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.

Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but, you know.
Tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
