Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day
and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends
on the ice.
Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This week on Crimless, Rory and I welcome a very special guest.
When I did a podcast, I wear my sleep masks.
I like where this is going.
So if you guys will indulge me.
That's right, the incredibly talented and hilarious Will Ferrell on an episode dedicated to crimes committed by people named Will Ferrell.
You're good for 300 crimes?
Yeah.
We got two.
I'm ready to do.
go right up to present day.
Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
get your podcast.
What would you eat if you had to start
over? Real simple,
poor man's, poor woman's food.
Black beans, chicken,
rice, plantains.
On the podcast eating while broke,
I sit down with celebrities,
entrepreneurs, and creators as they
revisit the meals they once relied on
in the moments that shaped their journey.

Urban Meyer around the corner.
Pretty light weekend of college football.
Next weekend's better.
J-MAC with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the Heard Line News.
You want a college football winner, buddy?
Yeah.
Miami Hurricanes minus 17 against USF.
USF just took down the gators.
And they're still celebrating at USF.
I think Miami smashes him.
Anyway.
Let's move on to the first story, Colin.
That's C.D. Lamb, who appeared in the Blazoned Five for the first time in his life.
He had a rough week one.
PFF credited him with four drops the most since Nagee Harris in 2021.
And the most by a wide receiver since Jerry Judy in 2020.
Wow.
Lamb talked about how the drops impacted him.
Going back to my fundamentals, I know what it is, I know what to do.
Again, it's game one.
We got 16 more than these.
That's just, again, the competitor that I am,
and how much I treat to the game as far as being honest
and just giving it everything I got because I do love this.
I love this game.
I love the sport.
I love the guys that I do it with.
So it's for me, just how are my end of the bargain?
He is the last thing I worry about with the Cowboys.
He's all good.
And I mean, George Pickens is talented,
but you can see the gap between CD Lamb and George Pickens
when they're on the field together and who DAC trusts.
And I guarantee that this is one of my bets.
They are going to make a point of going back to CD Lamb.
Over six and a half catches is one of my favorite bets of the week.
I think they're going to really, because listen, CD really is the deck and CD right now
are easily now that Mike has gone, the two most important players.
Brian Schottenheimer needs to double down on DAC and CD Lamb.
at the home opener against the Giants.
If I'm the Giants, I just try to take away CD-Lamp.
You know, I'll say, hey, Pickin's going to beat us fine.
You know, Jake Ferguson, Javante would go for it.
I would do my best to take away CD-Limp.
The Eagles could not do that, Colin.
I think it's a smart bet.
He had 13 targets in week one.
I mean, should have easily had 10, 11 catches.
Next up, let's go to my Jets.
They were outstanding in week one.
You could argue nobody looked better than the Jets in defeat.
Justin Fields had three touchdowns and Garrett Wilson, who had a good game,
but took that late hit from Jalen Ramsey that kind of cinched the loss.
Wilson knows they're not done yet, and there's a lot more where that came from.
This game is it rewards people that love it.
It's the way I see it.
And he loves the game.
He played the right way and has the right mindset every time it takes that field.
You know, all the teammates, that stuff's contagious, right?
So when your quarterback's doing that, it's like, you got no choice.
I'm going to pop up after taking that yet.
I'm a whatever it may be because you see him do it.
Yeah, I don't think that offense looks quite as amazing on the road against Buffalo.
Huh, you sure about that?
Were you impressed by Buffalo?
They couldn't tackle Derek Henry.
I mean, I know he's a difficult guy to tackle.
What is the rule of football?
If you win but play poorly and Buffalo defensively did not play a good football game,
I think the bills are going to be sort of dialed in.
And you'd like him to cover as well?
Six and a half?
Well, it's a division game.
I'd stay away from it.
I think it's seven.
I'd probably take the Jets.
Six and a half I'll stay away, but I think Buffalo wins.
I think there's some scoring in this.
I think it's kind of a 28, 21 game.
If I got seven, I'd probably take the Jets.
Seven and a half I would definitely take the Jets.
Yeah, I took a nibble of the Jets just so I can have a rooting interest.
I think it'll be a good game.
I got to be honest, of all the units of the contenders,
like Green Bay looks awesome on both sides of the football.
I thought the Buffalo defense was really, really bad,
but as you said, they face the Ravens who are a machine.
Final story, Colin, we haven't mentioned his name in weeks.
Shadur Sanders.
So have you been following what's going on?
Because reports indicate
Chador is not even leading the scout team offense.
I know.
That would be run by Bailey Zappi.
Shadur is getting no practice reps behind Flacco.
and Dylan Gabriel.
We spent like the entire summer talking about this guy
and now he's not even running the scout team, Colin.
I know. It's crazy.
I mean, it really is.
Is it, though?
Well, yeah.
I mean, I didn't think he was a great prospect.
I thought Cam Ward was easily the best project.
During the season, everybody, not just us, everybody.
I mean, Daniel Jeremiah, who's the number one draft guy,
everybody loves Chador during the season.
Yeah.
Everybody had him as a first round pick.
Call it everyone.
Yeah.
He's not even running a scout team on the Cleveland Browns.
That is a bit of a drop-off.
So there's a bit of a disconnect here.
Come on.
Well, it tells me, and I, one of the things that I remember when Drew Locke came into the league,
and I was like, I think he's trying to do hard to be cool.
That's a huge turnoff for me.
Johnny Mansell had that.
Like, dude, you're not just, you're a rookie quarterback.
I should do her 100-mile-an-hour speeding ticket.
legendary room. It's like, you got to get your priorities at that position. You got to get them
buttoned up by about 15 years old. Yeah. And I think, I mean, seriously, it's unfair, but there are
certain professions like pilot. If I, you know, there's a lot of 26 year old pilots out there.
I need you to be more mature than most 26 year old guys. Medical field, surgeons at 27, I need you
to be more mature. You can't come over the hangover. Quarterbacks to one position in sports.
it's kind of unfair, but I need you to be an adult by 22 years old,
like an adult making man decisions.
And I think sometimes Shadur comes in as silly and playful,
and that's just a turnoff to a lot of people.
What if it's more?
What if he's just not cut out to be an NFL player?
Is that possible?
Well, I mean, if, yeah, I mean...
I mean, forget the maturity.
Just as a football player, is it possible?
I mean, every team passed on him multiple times.
The Browns gave him a shot,
And now they're like, yeah, scout team, let's bring in Bailey Zappi to run this guy.
Like, that's alarming.
Yeah, I don't disagree.
I don't know where he goes from here.
I mean, again, this is a guy who was like in the Heisman mix.
He was on TV, huge deal at Colorado.
He's not running the scout team, Colin.
I don't.
And mentally, that's going to be tough for him, man.
Yeah.
I, you know, in his college teammate, Travis Hunter, is nothing but talent.
Like he is just unbelievable, but Travis didn't get the play that Shadour did in college.
Some of it, you know, obviously the dad.
But it is, I don't remember ever there being a quarterback who the day before the draft,
the people I trust, all of them publicly or privately, said, yeah, he may fall to mid-second,
late second, but he'd probably get drafted somewhere.
And he is now in week two, not even with the scout team.
In my life, that's never had.
Kenny Pickett wasn't good, but multiple teams gave him a shot.
Right, right, right.
I mean, Shador, remember, this is a guy who was a starter at Colorado, a starter at Jackson State, a fairly big-time recruit.
And this has got to be tough for him.
I just hope, you know, hey, man, stay grinding.
Don't lose the plot here.
Stay focused.
And that's going to be difficult for him.
And he's a young guy with money and fame.
And I just hope it turns out well for him.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
The biggest one o'clock game, and I mean, Detroit hosting Chicago feels huge.
Chicago can go 0-and-2.
They've got the Cowboys, the Raiders, and a buy coming up.
And I don't think this year we're judging the Bears on wins as much as we are.
They've got to save this quarterback.
The Lions have the Ravens next week.
you go 0 and 2 into Baltimore, it's 0 and 3,
and you got about 3% chance to make the playoffs.
But I don't know.
I mean, you watched him, I watched him.
All the data tells you Caleb's struggling on overthrows,
on the operations pre-snap, on accuracy on the layups.
Dave Wonstat on if he believes Caleb can be saved by Ben Johnson.
I think it's going to work because of the stock.
of offense. And head coach Ben
said, Ben Johnson said afterwards, who I'm a
fan of, he said afterwards,
I should have run the ball more. They had 35
passes and only 20 runs.
Okay, you know, so how do you help
a young quarterback? Everybody
knows that. You take some pressure
off them by running the ball
and then those play action passes.
Yeah,
it is. J-Mack,
for the record, I don't know what the props
are on Caleb Williams, but I also think
this is important.
And I believe this to be true.
Watch CD Lamb get a bunch of looks against the Giants
and watch Swift and the run game for Chicago
be really what Chicago tries to do.
I think if you go look at that first series
and that first game for Caleb,
I think Coach Wansett talked about this.
They threw the ball too much.
So I honestly believe the under on Caleb's pass attempts.
I think they're going to come in.
They're going to lean on physicality.
I mean, they spent all that money.
on the guard,
Junie, Drew Dalman,
the center, and Jonah Jackson.
And they didn't really use them.
So my take is watch Chicago go into a heavy,
heavy, 35-carry run-oriented performance.
So the problem with that, Colin, is,
didn't Caleb start 10 for 10 and they look good early?
They didn't run the ball at all, though, consistently.
Minnesota did.
So my big concern, obviously with,
the Chicago team is they,
offense looked fine early.
The defense looked fine early.
And then halftime happened.
And adjustments were made.
And Minnesota won the second half handily.
I mean,
the fourth quarter,
like imagine that snowball rolling downhill,
fourth quarter,
you can't stop J.J. McCarthy.
Now you've got to go to Detroit
play an angry lion's team coming off a loss.
And they look bad.
You don't think Gough and Amara St.
Brown, everybody's locked in?
And they're going to steamroll this Bears defense?
This could get squirrelly.
I mean, if we come in Monday and it's 35,
13 lions, I'm not going to be surprised.
Would you be shocked if the Bears lost by 20?
I would.
I would.
I think they're going to lose by a touchdown.
It's funny because I had Tom Brady on yesterday,
and I asked Brady, I said,
you know, my take on all these young quarterbacks
that had seven-on-seven coaching,
seven-on-seven camps and private coaching
is that I give them until Thanksgiving year two.
I used to believe you give a quarterback three years,
then you make a decision.
To me, these guys have way more.
throws Thanksgiving year two that's when I raised my hand private room upstairs GM coach
coordinator and say it's not going to work I asked Tom if that was fair there's a lot of people who have
no idea what they're doing when they're tasked with coaching a quarterback or calling an offense so
are you saying I mean just like we'd rank quarterbacks one to 32 do you rank offensive
coordinators one to 32 what if you're a quarterback can you go to a system and they don't
teach you coverage they don't teach you cover one they don't teach you cover one they don't teach you
cover two. They don't teach you cover four. They don't have
personnel meetings. They give you an offensive
game plan and they go, all right, buddy, here you go.
Figure it out. And after
Thanksgiving year, they're going, man, this guy just can't play anymore.
The over under
on pass attempts is 32 and a half. I'd take
the under on that. If he's throwing
32 times, they're probably losing
Colin. Well, here's the thing. He may have
to. Over
under throwing totals are tricky.
I don't, that's not a prop
bet. Well, wait a minute. I thought, because
Because if you trail, it changes a game plan.
If you're down 14, late third,
you're going to throw the ball six out of seven snaps and you don't want to.
Well, 14 is not, it's not over at 14.
I mean, hell, the bills came back down 14.
The Vikings were down, I think, 13.
But don't you say if Jalen Hertz has to throw over 30 times the Eagles are in trouble?
I think the same definitely applies to Jake Caleb Williams.
If he's throwing 32 times, they're probably losing the football.
I mean, well, think about how good Jalen Hertz is, right?
since they're by, the Eagles by last year,
no team has thrown fewer passes than the Philadelphia Eagles
with A.J. Brown and DeBonte Smith and Dallas Goddard.
Think about that.
As good as Hertz is and as great as the weapons are,
and it's the best pass blocking line in the league.
Philadelphia with an offensive coach since they're by
throws it fewer than any team in the league.
And the point being is,
if you don't, you know, if you've got a quarterback that you like and he's athletic,
but you don't always love them in the pocket, the Eagles don't throw the ball.
Okay, hold on, hold on.
I would like our stat guys to strip out, forget full game.
I want to see first half when games are close.
We know the Eagles were blowing out folks last year.
And so fourth quarter, they're not throwing any passes at all.
They're just running and grinding clock.
I want to see first half, Colin, are the Eagles throwing it less than everybody first half?
Maybe that's accurate, but again, fourth quarter, Eagles last year, I mean, they were top three team in the league, you know?
Yeah.

We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
before Jonas Brothers
was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast
where people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down
on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title.
Oh, yeah.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in 10.
tennis. And I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs
tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris, every match, every upset,
and what it really takes to win on Clay. Jenschen went. I mean, she went down to three to
Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now, and I actually can win on any
surface because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash will get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
And with that, Urban Meyer, is now joining us live.
Fox Sports College Football Analyst.
There you go. You're all ready to go.
Hi, Colin.
Hi. So you're doing the Oregon. You're there. Oregon's playing Northwestern.
I think you and I've talked about this. I always think there's about four college football programs.
Ohio State. LSU, Georgia. I don't know if BAM is anymore with the NIL.
But I think Ohio State's in that class. I don't think Michigan is.
Even with Hardball until the very end, they had an older group.
But I think there's about three to four elite recruiters.
I, Oregon, I never really thought of them, even when they were winning the last five years.
But I wonder if NIL, when you watch the tape of Oregon in the first couple weeks,
has Oregon moved into, with all that California national recruiting, have they, if they,
I mean, they've always recruited well, but not Ohio State or Georgia, LSU well.
Do you still think they're doing it mostly with a little less talent than three or four big dogs?
No, I agree with you that they are officially a blue blood team in my mind.
When you watch them play, the consistency.
And here's, I mean, you've talked about this many times, Colin.
Their offensive and defense line are legit now.
We played the Oregon in the national championship in 2014.
And I want to say they average just under 300 pounds on the offensive and defense lines.
Now it's almost 320 pounds.
So they're finding the guys that, and once again, Colin, me and you've talked about this,
a hundred times that the PAC 12 for many years,
they just couldn't find the offensive and defense alignment.
That's the difference between them and the SEC.
They are officially now, in my mind, a blue blood.
You stick them in the SEC and obviously in the Big Ten.
They're as good as any team in the country.
So I was thinking about Ohio State,
and it's weird how this works.
So you had success at Bowling Green and then Utah,
but when you go to Florida and Ohio State,
the pressure ramps up.
I mean, talk radio, the newspapers,
There's a million people at your practice.
It's hard.
But I did feel like when Ryan Day and the Buckeyes lost to Michigan,
I remember that game next was Tennessee,
and I thought, boy, he's got to win this thing,
and he's got to win it impressively.
From that point forward, the Tennessee game until today,
it feels like to me that they're different.
It feels like as a coach, I guess I'd ask this question.
When you won your Natty,
at Ohio State or Florida.
Do you coach a little differently?
Do you feel you can take a few more big swings
because it validates your system, your program,
or is that just media guys talking?
But when I talk to Ryan and I look at Ohio State,
there is confidence.
There is no question when I watch Ohio State.
Now I'm like, oh, that's currently the best college football program in America.
And I didn't feel that pre when that mission,
Michigan loss, I'm like, man, they shrunk. Is any of that land for you at all?
It does. And I talk to Coach Day quite often. And he does. He sounds like a different person. He's
legitimate. He's always been legitimate in my mind. But now the world's mind, he's won a national
title. There's very few guys that have done that. The difference with me, and I'm anxious to watch
how he handles it, because I think Kirby's handled a well. I've seen Nick Saban handled it well.
I did it. You know, everything, once we won that first national title,
It was like the pressure was unbelievable to repeat, repeat, repeat.
And it remains to be seen as they continue through their journey with Coach Day and the Buckeyes.
But I see a much different coach day, a much more relaxed, not relaxed, but much more confident.
And it seems like people are off his back finally.
And I mean, look at his winning one lost record.
He's now a national championship coach.
He's the one issue that he's got to deal with at the end of the year, and that's the Wolverines.
Yeah.
Nick Sabin said some this week, and we talked about it about a year ago in the show,
is when the NIL exploded, I had said this on the air.
I said a lot of times in the South, your biggest or second biggest booster,
because a lot of SEC schools do not have huge enrollment.
I think Florida does, but a lot of them don't.
In that your first or second biggest booster in an SEC program could be a very, you know,
a very successful car dealer.
But if you look at Big Ten schools, we have 40,000.
people. That's a lot of graduates. They go into the market.
Bigger schools, bigger endowments. I mean, the richest guy in the world this week, Ellison,
I think he's a Michigan grad. Yeah, Larry Ellison's kid, I think it is. And I'm like,
it's just a reality. You got Seattle in the conference now in the Big Ten. You got Phil Knight money.
You got USC money. Penn State gets, obviously, Ohio State's loaded. Michigan's got massive endowment.
And Sabin said, we used to think we had a geographic advantage.
We had more good players.
But Sabin said, I think the NIL, the money advantage, is the guys up north.
Do you believe that?
Is that what you're hearing?
I read that quote from Coach Sabin, and I believe it.
You know, I think this has been a result that not many people expected myself, included,
that it would only bring other conferences or the Big Ten on level with the SEC.
There's many, including myself right now, said they are better than you.
SEC, which five, ten years ago, there's no chance that's going to happen. So I think it is.
And this is something that I never thought through until recently. Like, wait a minute, he's right,
that these big, you know, Columbus, it's endless the amount of money that you can get.
You have Detroit right next to Ann Arbor. You know, the one school of state colleges out there by
themselves, but they have Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. So I think there's a lot to it.
You know, it's funny, as one of the coaches once said, is that the SEC used to pay players.
and everybody pays players.
So I'm not saying that's happened, but that's what they were saying.
Yeah, well, that's what I'm saying.
So I'll say.
Okay.
So I saw something this week.
I love Sark.
I really do.
I think he's great.
But Arch Manny's playing in the game.
And I saw him winced during the game.
And my take is football players wins all the time.
You know what I mean?
You get hit.
You wince.
But one of the reporters came out and said to Sark, you know, one of your players kind of wins during the game.
And Sark kind of got, you know, he kind of got after the guy.
kind of got. And I thought to myself, listen, man, before you win that natty, there's a lot of
pressure at Texas. I would argue the toughest job in college football, take coaches out,
maybe quarterback at Ohio State and quarterback at Texas. And I feel like with Sark has a lot of
donor money. And when you watch Sark kind of get riled up at that press conference, do you think
he's feeling a little bit of pressure? I do. I think it comes with that job. And I feel I have
feel the same about Sark as you do. So much respect for that guy. But I kind of saw that interaction
with the reporter and I wondered why. You know, if that's a legitimate question, if he's hurting,
then just tell him to hurt it. If he's not, so he's no, he's fine. But I don't, so I don't know
if there's something behind door number two with that. I saw the same thing on video, but you're
right. You know, players wince all the time. But, you know, I do believe that was a legitimate question.
You know, is your quarterback hurt? Because I actually heard that from someone at Fox to say,
yeah, he's a little dinged up, but, you know, I didn't see that during Ohio State game because
they ran them quite a bit. So, yeah, I don't understand that interaction, and maybe there is
something there. Finally, Bryce Underwood's the real deal, but Oklahoma's got more juniors and
seniors. Oklahoma's got a great quarterback. Oklahoma was the much better team.
How much, final question, when you have a star quarterback as a freshman right out of high school,
would you be worried that you, how much can you just let him play, or would you still kind of
feel like, hey, he's a kid, he's going to learn, I don't want to put him out to the wolves.
What would you do if you had Bryce Underwood in your Michigan?
He's going to be great.
You know, I just, I even said that on Big Ten Network.
I say, pump the brakes.
He's going to be fine.
Freshman quarterbacks don't go into Norman, Oklahoma and coach and play against a Brett
Benable's defense.
I've tried that with veteran quarterbacks.
He's that good of a defensive coach.
You put that on the road in Norman and against great players at Oklahoma, which they look like
a much better team.
What did you think was going to happen?
That's going to happen.
It's not his job to go win that game.
You know whose job it is?
It's the other players around them.
And they didn't step up.
Don't put this one on Bryce Underwood.
Put them on the defense and the rest of the offense.
You know, where was the run game?
Oh, you can't say that the quarterback lost that game or that freshman quarterback is going to struggle in that game.
Everyone else has got to elevate and they didn't do it.
Urban Meyer on a Friday.
We're going to begin Urban on Friday's a lot and I absolutely love it.
It's great seeing you and have fun tomorrow.
I may just stop by Evanston.
just up the road from where we're at right now, Coach. Thanks.
Beautiful setting here in Northwestern.
Oh, it is absolutely stunning.
And with that, we take a break.
J. Mack returns for his picks of the week next.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays at noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman,
Help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the René.
A Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jen she went.
I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.

And he knows without Luca and Austin.
Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball like,
after you go through a training camp
with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's only week two of the NFL season.
The stakes are already rising.
Bounceback performances,
what to do with the dolphins,
Patriots underachieved,
Miami, New England.
Nope. I didn't pick it.
J. Mack didn't either.
Are you ready for tomorrow's headlines?
Let's rock and roll, buddy.
Yeah, let's do it.
I think we have one in common.
All right.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Let's make some NFL predictions.
49ers at the Saints.
I'm surprised you took this game because the Niners,
we don't even know.
I mean, they got six starters that are banged up.
Yeah.
You know, not a great move by me.
I like seven games on the board.
So this was kind of a late edition.
but I'm rocking with my guys, the headline for 49ers versus the Saints will be.
I'm loving it.
49ers take bite into Big Mac.
Yes, I think Mack Jones, listen, I'm not going to call him being the next
Geno Smith or Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold, but there is enough talent in Mac Jones
that I think marry that with Kyle Shanahan's offense and schemes.
This could be a good performance for Mac Jones.
Okay, despite the injuries, I see Jawan Jenny.
not practicing, obviously kiddle out.
I think Mack Jones is going to be able to move the football.
Do you remember when Kyle Shanahan had a backup name Nick Mullins?
Yeah.
He showed up and it was like, who's this guy?
Yeah.
Shanahan can do that. Kevin O'Connell, these great coaches can find backups to come in and dominate. And, oh, by the way, Saints' offensive lines still beat up. They did not show well last week. Colin, I just punched into one of your favorite search machines, chat, GBT.
How was Alvin Kamara done against the diners defense?
Here we go. Three games, last three games. Eight carries 15 yards. Seven carries 13 yards. 13 carries 25 yards. Do you sense a theme? He's not going to be able to run a lot against Sala and Company. Give me the Niners here on the road.
Tomorrow's headlines today. This was a stay away game to me. A lot of emotion, though. Bears at the Lions, a man with courage, J. Max is going to make a pick.
Listen, week two is big, don't overreact to what you saw in week one. We like the Lions coming into the season. We didn't love them, but we liked them.
Now everybody's selling the headline for Lions, Bears will be rolling in the deep dish.
Ben and Caleb can't top the charts.
I'm sorry.
Look at that graphic, just outstanding work.
I like Detroit here, Colin, I'm sorry.
Everything that I see about Goff's history against the Bears, he's won five of six,
put up some really good numbers in the process.
I didn't see anything overwhelming from the Bears, especially in the fourth quarter,
stopping J.J. McCarthy, which they couldn't, that I think.
they're going to be able to now go on the road in the indoor fast track and slow down a
Detroit team. Colin, you know the Lions are going to be fired up. I'm a Ross St. Brown. We had the
clip in a herd line this week. He's like cursing. We're taking down Ben Johnson. This is a big,
big game for the Lions. And at home, I like golf and company. And this could get away from
Caleb and Ben over under Tyson-Bagent fourth quarter passes thrown. Colin, if this is a blowout,
give me the Lions here comfortably. Tomorrow's headlines.
I think we'll get agreement on this.
Eagles at the regressing chiefs.
So I'm working with the producers, you know, during the week.
They're like, Jay, we need one more.
I'm like, I can't decide.
Let me go big.
Colin, the headline for Eagles chiefs will be under the feather.
Birds give chiefs the football flu.
Oh, yeah.
Philadelphia Eagles get the win.
Colin, I've been consistent on this all summer.
I didn't like what I saw from Kansas City.
at the end of last season.
I know they got lucky in the one score games,
11 and 0, but they came out against the Chargers pretty flat.
And I just, I don't know where the talent is.
You give me worthy, yes or no.
It doesn't really matter.
I don't think they've got enough dudes.
I don't like the offensive line.
And let's be real, Jalen Carter will return.
Everybody's reaction, Colin, from Eagles Cowboys.
Eagles defense didn't look good.
They couldn't slow down DAC.
What's going on?
Hello, Jalen Carter, maybe their best defensive player,
who's out for the entire game.
Now you put him in the middle, and suddenly Nolan Smith off the edge, who looks real bendy.
I think the Eagles are going.
Now, listen, Kansas City probably comes out, hair on fire.
Yep.
Coming back from Brazil.
Let's get to early lead.
Come on.
And I think the Eagles come back and beat him.
And I got Philly winning in Casey O.N two.
Tomorrow's headlines today, this will be a hard game to stomach, regardless of the outcome.
Not exactly TV magic.
Panthers at Arizona.
I think this was the one.
game. This was my last pick that I dropped. So I liked Arizona in the spot. This was my last,
this was my six. Now, my six pick last week was the Vikings Monday night football over the bears.
That was right. This, I liked Arizona here, but it didn't make the cut. Yeah. No, I could understand that.
I mean, hell, very few people are interested in the Carolina Panthers. And Arizona didn't look
great last week. However, the headline for Arizona. Carolina will be Bryce Crispy Treatment. Snows.
crackle and drop. Listen, man, Colin, they came out against a Jacksonville defense that was bad last year,
and they couldn't do a damn thing. Then you get like the lightning delay, which really delayed things,
and they couldn't do anything much after that. Colin, I'm not selling Bryce Young. I know some people
who know him. He's a great guy. Remember you sat next to him on a flight. I like this kid a lot.
I just don't like this team. And Arizona did not look great putting away New Orleans last week.
That being said, big revenge spot. Remember last year in December, Arizona,
went to Carolina.
And Arizona was in the mix for a playoff spot.
And they really had two turnovers that killed them.
Carolina won in overtime.
And that kind of ended their season.
I think Arizona gets revenge here.
Kyler-Marie was ill last weekend.
Looked it.
It took five sacks, I think.
I think they're fine.
I think Arizona in fantasy, survivor, load up.
They get to win here.
Finally, tomorrow's headlines today.
This was another game.
I think I know where you're going on this.
And I think this could be your strongest pick.
Buck's at Texan.
Yeah, this is a big one.
I like Houston a lot here.
The headline for Texans, Tampa Bay on Monday night will be bucked around and found out.
Tall Texans teaching lessons.
I like the Houston Texans to bounce back here.
The injury report isn't as bad as it appeared against the Rams.
Remember last week they had some guys beat up.
Houston's good, man.
And I talked about some of the stats this week.
Tampa Bay gave up over 190 yards after the catch against Atlanta.
Okay.
Nico Collins and company could be feasting this one.
week. I didn't like what I saw in Tampa despite the win over the Falcons and I'm lower than
market on Tampa this season. I think Houston's defense really annihilates Tampa. By the way,
Tristan Worf's, Colin, is practicing. So that's a potentially good sign. They're going to need
him against Will Anderson. And by the way, Will Anderson and company, that defense is not far behind
Denver. So I'm on the Texans minus two and a half. This will definitely touch three by kickoff.
I like the Texans to win. Yeah, I like your picks a lot.
Now you're making me feel like I should have taken Panthers Cardinals.
Well, I probably should have dumped Denver in there as well.
I like your Denver pick.
I like Atlanta against Minnesota.
I'm surprised you didn't take the Titans against the beat-up Rams.
Yeah.
Well, listen, this is wins.
And I did pitch that.
And they were like, well, we don't want to just talk spread.
I did bet that, obviously.
But I don't know that the Titans went outright.
So, yeah, I'm on Titans as well.
All right.
You and the staff battling.
You know, Colin, this could be multiple judges.
jet ski weekend for both of us.
I like our picks a lot, man.
Yeah, no, it's a, yeah, I, you know, I'm doing occasional.
I won't do it every week, maybe, but I'm doing occasional props now.
Yeah.
Because I just think people are betting props.
I started looking in the offseason.
It just, you know, people, how much they bet props and overunders,
and that's like a big part of what people like to bet.
And I also think it's harder to hit on a lot of picks because the,
the market's gotten more sophisticated.
I think people out there watching us and fans are just better,
smarter betters than they've ever been.
The lines are tougher.
I actually think there's only one line this week.
I thought was weird, and I thought the Titans getting five and a half was a weird line.
I would have guessed that would have been like three to three and a half.
So that's why I made the pick.
I'm like that feels like not a mistake by Vegas,
but a very better friendly pick to me.
Well, let's see what's up with the Rams injuries to the offensive line.
Friday's a big practice day.
I noticed you didn't do Seahawks and Steelers.
That's a, to me, fascinating game.
I like Seattle, but a lot of other people seem to like Pittsburgh.
I think Pittsburgh, because I think Mike Tomlin was humiliated by that defensive effort.
And Seattle doesn't have much of an offense anyway.
Seattle is one of those teams that has kind of one way to win.
Run the ball, keep the score low.
They don't have a number one receiver.
So Seattle has one way to win.
And Pittsburgh humiliated by their defensive effort,
I think this is a tough physical 2320 low-scoring.
game. But I don't know who wins, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of points.
And with that, we are done. Urban Meyer. Stop by Tom Brady this week. Stop by. Dave Wonstadt.
How good was that? All that info on the bears and the packers and the dolphins. We'll see you
Monday. It's the hurt. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick.
And guess what? We created our own podcast called Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast. Well, we didn't
invent it. We just contributed to it.
people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
