This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on
our podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again,
I was harmed. You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven,
Marquis keep coming to him. He's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was
just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the I Heart
radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This week on Crimless, Rory and I welcome a very special guest.
When I would do a podcast, I wear my sleep masks.
I like where this is going.
So if you guys will indulge me.
That's right, the incredibly talented and hilarious Will Ferrell on an episode dedicated to crimes
committed by people named Will Ferrell.
You're good for 300 crimes?
Yeah.
We got two.
I'm ready to go right up.
to present day.
Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Every family has its secrets.
But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
That is not the look of an innocent man.
Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
I felt such desperation.
I felt it was what I had to do.
Listen to deep cover the family man.
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for listening to The Heard Podcast.
Be sure to catch us live every weekday on Fox Sports Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific.
Find your local station for the herd at Fox Sports Radio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeartRadio app by searching Fox Sports Radio or FSR.
We're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Well, this will be good stuff.
A decade in the NFL,
four and two career playoff record.
He's become a great broadcaster for us at Fox Sports.
Mark Sanchez is now joining us live,
as he often does on Wednesday or Thursday.
He's got the Jags Niners.
We'll get to that in the second.
I'm going to start.
You covered Jackson Dart gets his first start.
You covered him in the preseason.
So what are realistic expectations?
I don't even know if their left tackle,
Andrew Thomas will be healthy.
That would worry me.
What are realistic expectations?
patience for Jackson.
Yeah, I think that's the way to frame this entire game, making a start against the top
10 passing defense and Jesse Mentor, this defense coordinator for the Chargers, he's got his
team dialed.
And so I would expect early completion, some slants, some screens, some play actions to build
his rhythm.
And don't forget, his mobility is legit and often underrated.
He plays a lot faster than he might look on tape.
So I'd expect some of those design runs that he's already come in and use these first couple games when they've subbed out Russell Wilson to get him in to get some experience.
But this Giants offense has its fair share of struggles, especially if you don't have your left tackle, especially with all the turmoil in the receiver room.
I'd expect, I'm not expecting him to win the game.
I'm just expecting him to get his feet wet.
And most importantly, you know, stack some completions and protect the football.
really all I'd like to see from him this week.
Justin Herbert was good last year.
He is different this year, and that's having lost a really good left tackle.
What's different?
What are you seeing that's different and maybe game planning, scheming?
Something feels different.
I think last year they really emphasized that run-first culture, and we're going to pound
the rock.
We're going to be ground and pound, which is fine.
And they only allow, you know, I think he threw the ball like 21 times a game.
through his first three games.
Now he's thrown at like 38 pass attempts a game.
And he's showing this offense really is built on his arm.
He's got, you know, over 70% completion, seven touchdowns.
So they're leaning on him.
And he's playing the most confident I've ever seen him play.
He's decisive.
And then you get the splash plays that we used to get.
Even when he first took the field as a rookie,
when they weren't even expecting him to play all those years.
ago, you still see the plays. The play rolling to the left, you know, armed, you know, kind of
halfway three-quarter sidearm, around a player to his guy in the end zone. I mean, there's not many
humans on the planet who can even come close to executing that throw. So he's in rare form right now.
And, you know, the rushing attack has kind of taken a backseat and everything flows through the
quarterback. As you know, the opinion of a quarterback in this league can change with a bad half.
It's unfair, but you know, the media is loud. It's the one sport in America. Everybody watches.
I always like Carson Wentz, and then the late great Jim Ursay, he had a bad game in Jacksonville and said,
get him out of here. And it's like, time out. He had 27 touchdowns, seven picks. It was really,
really good. And in Philadelphia, he got hurt. He was going to be MVP. I couldn't pull him
out. I think right now today, I couldn't pull him out if I was the Vikings. What say you?
Well, the biggest stat that I saw, and I had to look at my phone for this because this came up
in a group chat, but the Minnesota Vikings are 15 and 3 when Kevin O'Connell has a ginger
starting at quarterback. So 83.33%. That's all I know. But on a serious note, you know, he provides
stability while J.J. McCarthy is developing and coming back from an injury, you know, he just kept it
steady, and Kevin O'Connell clearly knows how to communicate with his quarterback. He gives you,
you know, your expectations, his expectations, finds a way to merge the two. And I don't think,
you know, Kevin made the comment in his press conference that, hey, you know, as soon as JJ's healthy,
it's not just okay, he's going to, he's playing tomorrow. I think if Wenz keeps winning,
there's no reason to pull him.
And it's really about the timing of McCarthy's transition and re-assimilation back as the starter.
But as long as this guy's playing well, I got no issues with number 11 starting for the Vikings.
I always like Sam Donald.
I think you did too.
But I do think, I said this, I think Sam needs structure.
I think his DNA, he's a little reckless.
So he does need structure.
like we're going to throw it 28 times, we're going to lean on that run game.
And that's not a knock outside of Josh Allen, the whole world does.
So I like what Seattle has created for him.
What do you see?
Well, I think you're exactly right.
I think he's right around the 29, 30-ish number of attempts per game,
a lot more towards the later half of last year when he was in Minnesota,
starting for the Vikings.
But that's okay.
They have a two-headed rushing attack.
Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker.
Their offensive line is still starting to gel,
and especially those interior guys.
Remember, they've gone through some turnover at the center position,
and then some young guards really step it in.
So the easiest thing to get continuity for your offensive linemen
is to let them fire off the ball and establish the run game.
Now, Sam knows how to get in and out of good runs,
and if there's no way to run the ball,
he's going to find a quick, easy throw.
And oh, by the way, he's got a heck of a solid.
slot receiver in Jackson Smith and Jingo this guy.
He's turned into an absolute superstar.
And you saw it in college.
You saw flashes of it a little bit as a rookie.
Remember, he started his rookie year.
He broke his wrist and just wasn't quite sure, didn't quite get his footing.
And then last year and especially this year, he's absolutely exploded.
And then you see Big Leonard Williams.
I mean, just add him to the list of New York Giants that suddenly leave the New York Giants
and then become superstars somewhere else.
Don't forget about my man Danny Dimes.
He's balling out too in Indy.
We got those guys in a couple weeks.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd
weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.
Hey, we're Kavino and Rich.
Fox Sports Radio every day, 5 to 7 p.m. Eastern.
But here's the thing.
We never have enough time to get to everything we want to get to.
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
Overpromised.
You see, we're having so much fun in our two-hour show.
We never get to everything.
Honestly, because this guy is over-promising things we never have time for.
Yeah, you blubberlips.
Blame and me.
Well, you know what?
It's called Over-Promise.
You should be good at it because you've been over-promising women for years.
Well, it's a Kavino and Rich after show, and we want you to be a part of it.
We're going to be talking sports, of course.
But we're also going to talk life and relationships.
And if Rich and I are arguing about something or we didn't have enough time,
it will continue on our after show called Over-Promised.
Well, if you don't get enough, Kavino & Rich,
make sure you check out OverPromise,
and also uncensored, by the way.
So maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
It's going to be the best after-show podcast of all time.
There you go.
Over-promising.
And remember, you could see it on YouTube,
but definitely join us.
Listen to Overpromised with Kavino and Rich
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called,
Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different.
memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, for people could call in and say,
Hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential
title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart
radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
The story I've told myself about love or relationships can then shake my behavior. And that can lead me
to sabotage the possibility of connection.
This Mental Health Awareness Month,
tune into the podcast deeply well with Debbie Brown
and explore the journey of healing, self-discovery,
and returning to yourself.
We explore higher consciousness, emotional well-being,
and the practices that help you find clarity, peace,
and self-mastery in a world that can feel overwhelming.
The world is becoming lonelier.
We're not becoming more social and connected.
We're becoming more individualized, but we actually meet people in connection.
If you've been searching for a soft place to land while doing the work to become whole, this podcast is for you to hear more.
Listen to deeply well with Debbie Brown from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Hey, I'm Jared Ardano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Help! Somebody!
But there's so much more to me than that.
I'm an actor, I'm a comedian, and recently I've become quite the helper myself.
And on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives,
helping people in need with my sage advice and thoughtful solutions.
Sike, I'm a comedian!
I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends as we riff rant and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to man.
If I'm calling you, even if you're on your phone, let it ring twice.
One ring is too scary.
Oh, cream a chicken suit.
Hey, cream a chicken suit.
This is Help from a Hypocrat, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know.
Listen to Help from Hypocrat as part of the Mike Coultera podcast network
available on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about Default.
define the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Yeah, so we'll get to the Jags Niners game.
I like San Francisco in that one.
You know, when quarterbacks come out, Mark, Mark Sanchez, for our radio audience,
I usually have a comp.
Okay, who is he?
I thought Sam Donald came out.
I said he's not Andrew Luck, but he's a little Andrew Luck.
He's big, he's tough.
He can be a little reckless, but he's a playmaker.
I never had one for Baker.
I thought he was a little cocky.
He was a little emotional.
I didn't really be.
was like, I don't know what he is. And here he is all these years later, and I'm genuinely
happy crushing it. What do you make of his development? Well, just add him to the list.
Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Carson Wentz, all these guys who end up in other places,
and they still have plenty of tread left on the tires. They just got to get to the right fit.
And I think we're realizing that the fit in the scheme is more important than
the draft slot. And so
he's playing
so well. He's got
that fire and intensity
that he plays with.
You know, maybe early on people thought, oh, he's just
cocky, oh, he's just a young kid, he's
immature, he's this, he's that.
That's truly his authentic self.
He is an absolute
psycho on the field.
And he has to temper that a little bit.
We actually had him on our show on
Rearview. NFL and Fox
Presents Rearview. And we
he talked to him yesterday, it comes out today, and he's one of my favorite guys to talk to.
He's a guy's guy. You want him leading your offense. You want to go have a beer with the guy.
He's funny. He'll make you laugh. He can get serious. He genuinely cares about his teammates.
And I think you see all that through the interview. And one of my favorite questions that I got to ask him,
I just said, has anybody reminded you that the last two coordinators you had in Tampa?
are now head coaches.
I mean, you got those guys a lot of money.
He did.
Dave Canales and Liam Cohen.
Those are two head coaches now in the NFL.
I said, do you get any Christmas gifts?
Do you get a holiday card?
Are they sending you wine, cigars, something?
And he goes, you know, that's a good point.
I don't think they are.
I said, well, don't forget about that, buddy.
Yeah, don't forget about that because you're putting people on the map.
And when people around you are doing well,
that obviously says something about your own performance.
so Baker's having a heck of a year.
So I think 10 years ago, if you didn't have a good first run,
there weren't as many great offensive coaches around in the league,
and your career could be over.
It was brutal.
But we're seeing Gino and Sam and Baker.
And I got to be honest, Mack Jones.
He'd been buried.
And I'm like, oh, yeah, he didn't make a Pro Bowl.
You got tape.
I'll be honest.
When I watched them at New Orleans, I'm like,
they're asking him to throw 40 times.
They're not like handing the ball off.
Are you surprised by him?
I really was surprised by that approach in New Orleans,
but they just couldn't get the run game established.
That's a really tough, stout New Orleans front.
They've been built on stopping the run for a long time now,
and that doesn't look like it's changing.
So that was kind of the game plan to go win the game.
But I'm pretty sure he was the offensive rookie of the year,
I want to say, in New Orleans.
England but either way they asked them to do a lot he gets banged up in the last game against
arizona and for the viewers who didn't see this game it was just a rock fight back and forth it's
like six to six the teams are trading field goals and we're in the booth like oh man that'd be nice
if a football game decided to break out here and all of a sudden it did it just exploded in the
last quarter and a half of the game but one of the big plays the biggest play of the game
from scrimmage, a 34-yard reception from Ricky Pearsall, who's really emerged for this team
for the 49ers as a receiver. You got to watch this. I mean, it doesn't look like much from the
jump. Okay, ho-hum, nice throw, whatever. Paulin, this is fourth and two. Okay, fourth and two.
Look at the quarterback in the center. Normally, the center, Brendel, he's usually at the apex of the
flying V, right? He's usually
upfront, touching the ball
first, getting everybody set up,
you know, pointing out the mic.
So something's fishy here.
Something's off. And watch
what they do. Ketrell Clark's playing corner.
He's rotating in and out
back and forth
throughout this game. And as
soon as the center touches the ball, it's a
quick snap. It's like a sucker snap.
Almost like a sucker punch. And
as soon as his fingertips touch it, he just
throws it to Mack Jones. That's why he waited
so long to let everybody get set up.
Keetrell Clark is out of position.
Mack Jones realizes this safety's got
to fly over and help over the top.
I got one-on-one on the outside.
Let me just drop this thing in a red
solo cup like I'm at a carnival.
I mean, this is unbelievable
by Ricky Pearsall also
because there's two ways to go on this
and Mac Jones has to throw a perfect ball.
He underthrows it
a hair just slightly.
And Ricky here, Pierceall,
does a little David Tyree
off the helmet and catches this football.
I mean, asking him
to do that on a fourth and two,
and I don't know if he noticed, he's also
wearing a knee brace because he got hurt, the
drive before. He missed,
he almost missed the handoff, trying
to stretch the ball that's supposed to go outside
to McCaffrey, the drive
before, because his knees all messed up.
And then he pulls off this trick
shot on fourth and two.
So, yes, he went home with the plushy
and he went home with a million
tickets from the fair, because
This one basically changed the course of the game and ended up helping him win.
The job of a backup quarterback is to go in and win half year starts.
He had two starts.
He won them both.
So I love where Mack Jones is at.
Now it's, hey, are we looking to trade this guy?
Do we go get Hendrickson and replace Bosa on our team and send Mac Jones to the Bengals?
I don't know.
I'm just trying to figure out something there because that defense needs a little help now that Bosa's gone.
And by the way, that game is a classic example of how basically they got a safety.
Arizona got the ball, picked up a first down, had it at midfield.
I thought the game was over.
I was like, okay, it's over.
San Francisco line.
And boom, it's amazing.
This league, so many games were decided by a single play in the last two and a half minutes.
Also, think about this.
Find somebody in the stats department to look this one up.
But they won Arizona one time of possession.
they won rushing attempts plus completions they won the turnover battle and they outrushed san francisco
it is so hard to lose a game when you check all those boxes as a team it's nearly impossible
i'd like to say it's less than five percent chance but i want somebody in stats to figure that one
out that's way above uh my pay grade yeah green bay same thing had it one suddenly they didn't it it
takes one bad it's just the NFL mark sanchez is always buddy great stuff appreciate stahl all right yeah
i mean it's just it's just crazy you know a jac speaking of that if you go look at the arizona
numbers one of the games this week seattle plays arizona have you seen the line it didn't
flip but it's it hasn't gone through a key number yet technically but yes but it's it's interesting
you'd think seattle would be a big favorite but if you watch the arizona san francisco
Arizona had the game sealed. They had the game one after the safety. They had the lead. They got the
ball. They got a first down. You're like, they need one more first down. I'll say this, though,
Gannon has shown well last year and this year against the Niners. I don't know that he's solved
Kyle Shanahan, but whatever he's doing is messing with Shanahan's dominance offensively. Colin,
somebody on social media and I usually don't listen to these gibronies said, what about, you know,
we talked DJ more earlier. You're just talking Cardinals. What about DJ more of the Cardinals?
Show Marvin Harrison how to be a pro, how to be a grown-up.
and catch the ball because harrison's kind of on the struggle bus the other receivers aren't
catching anything does arizona go all in with gannon who's kind of sort of got to deliver this
year he could get run out of town if they missed the playoffs well let's not call our audience
gibronies there's no no social media guys not our audience the tv audience is geniuses a bunch of bill
gates out there uh i'm talking about the social media guys harrison has been no the the seattle
arizona line everybody you look at it and you're like how how best seattle if you go look at the
box score, yards per play.
Arizona outplayed San Francisco.
And that's why, by the way, I like Green Bay this week.
Because Green Bay had that puppy sealed on the road, played poorly,
and it just unraveled quickly.
Green Bay is going to go to Dallas,
and they're not in a good mood.
Because they had that game wrapped,
and they embarrassed themselves in the end as a huge favorite.
All right, we come back.
J-Mack with a herd.
Update, herd line coming up next.
It's the herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life
one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a parameda Pazzo chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to
Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard.
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to.
to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and
unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

All sorts of interesting stuff. This is a, it is a magnificent college football weekend.
into a great Sunday, into a great Monday night football with two games,
into the baseball playoffs on Tuesday.
So you might as well take your significant other out the next couple of nights
and have a good time, because by Saturday, it's over.
I watched the Charlie Sheen Dock last night.
The reason I watched it, I looked at the schedule and I thought, you know,
starting Thursday, it's over.
My nights are all taken for about five weeks.
So I watched the Charlie Sheen Dock.
That, my friends, is a life.
not the one I'd like to lead
but that is a life.
J-Mac with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Sure, Ann loves to hear that.
No, she watched it too.
Oh, really?
She's the one that said, have you seen that?
And she said, and I said, and I looked at the schedule,
I'm like, oh, there's two Monday night football games,
Thursday night, Friday I have, I'm going down to Champaign,
Saturday I'm booked, Sunday's great,
Monday night football, Tuesday,
baseball playoffs. I'm like, okay,
this is the night, and I sat and watched it.
It's total debauchery?
It's just kind of
not sure how he's still alive.
I'll even with that. Fair enough. All right, let's start
this hour, Colin,
the Denver Broncos. They lost
to the Chargers 2320,
and the Chargers kind of dominated. Outgained
it by over 100 yards, 29
first downs to just nine for Denver.
I have mentioned now twice during the show
Bo Nix is on the struggle bus this year,
his sophomore campaign. Sean
Peyton is not blaming his quarterback.
It was too inconsistent.
There were too many minus plays.
It was a hard day to play quarterback
when your average third down is third and 11.
So if we're not more efficient on first and second down,
the best in our league are going to struggle with the numbers
that we gave him on third down.
Yeah, and their schedule lightens up considerably.
bad quarterbacks, average defenses, and dysfunctional organizations.
Look at this franchise.
Wait a minute.
Timeout, timeout.
What do you mean the schedule lightens up?
They face the Titans and the Colts.
Cincinnati.
Cincinnati with a backup that just got shelled, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, and a Houston team
that cannot block and the Denver Broncos have a top two pass rush in the league.
Wait a minute, man.
I'm talking about Bo Nicks versus defenses because he's struggling, Colin.
I know you don't want to really bring it up.
Like, he was not good against the Titans or Colts.
Not good.
He's the lowest-graded passer, according to pro football focus.
He still has jets.
That's a good defense.
Eagles, Texans defense is good.
Now, maybe the Cowboys, he cooks, and he should beat the Bengals.
But, Colin, I know he's your guy, and we like Bo Nix as a human.
But truthfully, what you've seen, I saw some stats, the Broncos pass blocking has been the best in the league through three weeks.
So clean pocket and still playing like poop.
They're not great in the backfield.
Mims and Franklin are still young.
He's got one real dependable veteran target.
He started slowly last year.
He is in year two.
He's played basically 20 NFL games, maybe 22.
I all say his next six weeks, he will be unbelievable.
They're at home against the Bungles this week.
Cincinnati's terrible.
I think Jake Browning's in trouble again.
I mean, Brian Flores and now this Broncos defense, that's going to be tough.
Next up, Conn, let's go back to the Baltimore Ravens.
I have a big one against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Ravens' defense gave up 41 to Buffalo, 38 to the Lions,
and they have given up a league high 12 touchdowns this season.
Quarterback Marlon Humphrey, who was burnt toast, okay, against the Lions on Monday Night Football,
knows the defense has to show up and take pressure off their quarterback.
I know we've got Lamar Jackson, but we can't expect to score 20.
We can't expect them to score 28, 30 points a game.
It's putting unfair expectations on our offense.
So the issue they have is that we talked about this Tuesday morning yesterday.
They're not playing complimentary football.
Lamar is so dynamic and they score so quickly that their defense is on the field constantly.
And it's not good to begin with.
Last year, Detroit won 15 games and had a bad defense, but they dominated time of possession.
So the Ravens, bizarrely, are number one in the league in total offense and near the bottom of the league in time of possession, because Lamar is so explosive, they score quickly.
So my take is, what move do you have to make to solve?
I mean, I don't worry about Derek Henry Fumbles.
They're not good, but I don't worry about the offense.
I worry about them giving up big chunk plays over the top.
I think they need to make a move at the deadline.
I don't think their personnel is good enough.
And I think when you pay a quarterback a lot of money, Kansas City, bad O-line, no-run game.
Josh Allen, interior defensive line, interior linebacking group, not great you can run on them.
Ravens defense, personnel's mostly.
I mean, they've got Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith.
Now they're missing a couple of pass rushers.
it will get better.
But it, I mean, that game against Detroit was not as competitive as the score.
They got pushed around.
So let me ask you, Ravens Chiefs, right?
Probably the best game on Sunday.
If the Chiefs fall to 1 and 3, or if the Ravens fall to 1 and 3,
who's in more trouble the loser of this game?
And I think there's a pretty clear.
I think the Chiefs are.
Yeah.
Because the Chargers should be the Giants be 4 and 0.
So you're now, you are now three back.
Yep.
And if you go look at the Charger schedule, there's some Ws on that thing.
And the Chargers already beat you head to head.
So, yeah, the Chiefs need this one badly.
So, I mean, you could be concerned if you're the Ravens,
but I don't think anybody's worried about Cincinnati is running away.
Is worthy playing?
Who knows?
That guy never plays, man.
But, like, again, to the Ravens,
I don't think you worry about Pittsburgh running away.
We both have the Vikings this week.
You're not worried about Jake Browning.
So even if you lose this, it's not the end of the world for Baltimore, but mentally, Colin, if they can't beat the Chiefs, this version of the Chiefs, at this, at that point you got to be like, geez, we're never going to get by these frigging guys.
I agree.
Final story, Colin, let's go to those chargers, who we love.
I think there's actually some value in them winning the Super Bowl, but I haven't made the bet yet.
Their 3-0 beat all three division rivals.
The last team to start 3-0 and doing it against division opponents was the 2006 Bears.
They ended up going to Super Bowl that year.
Now, nobody's saying the Chargers are, I think if you really read the landscape,
I think the Chargers are going to have as good a shot as anybody.
They got to obviously get the offensive line healthy,
but the skill position guys are there.
Obviously, we like the coach combo, you know, Penn & Teller or whatever you want to call them.
The defense with Jesse Minter is excellent.
Chargers, Super Bowl, too hyperbolic?
No, I think Chargers' bills.
If I had to make a bet today, Chargers bills.
AFC title game?
I don't think the Chargers need to make a move at the trade deadline.
I don't.
Well, you never can, listen, if you can find a swing tackle as extra protection, right?
I mean, we know what's been doing.
That's not a big swing.
Slater's back next year.
I'm talking about, I think what you and I talked about earlier,
I talked about this during the commercial break with the staff.
DJ more to Buffalo.
Think about this.
I want every Buffalo
Bill fan to think about this.
Is that Kansas City's offense
will not stay this bad.
Correct.
Baltimore's defense
will not be this bad.
And the Chargers,
by the way,
with Harbaugh are going to keep winning games.
You may be able to
because Drake may is still a kid,
the jets are circling the drain,
Miami's a mess.
This could be,
in fairness, the last year for Buffalo getting a home playoff game against Harbaugh, a warm weather
so-fi team in Buffalo in that windy stadium. The new Buffalo Stadium is going to, it will be less
windy. So this is an opportunity. You get the worst of the Chiefs offense going forward,
the worst of the Ravens defense, and the last year where you can bring a dome or a West Coast
team into a stadium that is a huge weather advantage.
This new stadium is going to block a great deal of the win.
So to me, if you're Buffalo, this is the move you go get a player.
Now, I think the interior D-Lines an issue, but DJ Moore is a really good player.
It's weird, but I don't know, and I know this is going to sound incendiary.
I don't know that Buffalo is right now better than the Chargers.
The Chargers are more balanced, Colin.
I'm sorry, they are.
They have a real defense.
The bills don't.
And the Buffalo offense, is it that much better than Justin Herbert?
What are all the Jim Harbaugh critics going to do?
Oh, there are none.
Come on.
Oh, give me a break.
Who's like Ohio State fans?
Come on.
Yes.
What are they going to do if he wins a Super Bowl?
What are they going to do?
Compare him to Pete Carroll.
Dude, he's...
I'm joking.
Come on.
I mean, I love when people who are great,
but they have big personalities, so they alienate people.
I love seeing great people who can be polarizing, and there's a group of people that don't like them, and they just keep winning and you keep running out of excuses.
So you love me, basically.
Well, I put you in Harbaugh's class.
Jay Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Ly News.
It's the best college football weekend since Labor Day weekend, which was also really good.
we'll put the college football schedule up.
Oregon, I think I'll take Oregon against Penn State really close.
Penn State's struggling these big games.
I think Ohio State's the better team.
The numbers coming down.
Washington, Jedfish.
He's on our show later this week.
Washington's quarterback can spin it.
I like LSU to go to Ole Miss and win.
I think Joel Clatt and I both agree.
the old misses, you know, Kiffin's popular.
I think LSU's better.
I'll take Texas A&M at home.
I don't know what to do with Iowa hosting Indiana.
I'll take Georgia.
Bama's been a lousy road team.
But I think, I think I'll be at the USC game at Illinois
down the road here a couple hours.
I do think there was a discussion,
Josh Pate, a really good college football podcaster and voice,
said that he thinks actually Jaden Mayava
is a better fit with Lincoln than Caleb Williams
because Caleb has so much horsepower.
Sometimes it felt like it was Caleb's team,
not Lincoln Riley's.
And Mayava, who was reckless last year,
does not look like the same quarterback.
Much less frenetic, much more comfortable,
much better judgment.
I didn't trust him at all throwing the ball down the middle last year.
He's made beautiful throws.
Now, I mean, it's Purdue, it's Michigan State.
but Joel Clatt earlier on the Jaden Miava, Caleb Williams, comps with Lincoln Riley.
Caleb Williams was the best quarterback talent-wise that Lincoln Riley had at USC.
And Jaden Maiava's offense could be better than Caleb Williams' offense.
Why? Because it's more balanced.
Myava stays within the system more.
So what they threaten the defense with is actually what I would consider to be deeper,
incredibly talented, but this offense is better and it's more balanced.
Yeah, it is.
It's got a big run game.
And Lincoln Riley, you know, because he was so effective with quarterbacks, got this reputation that he was just like a pass happy guy.
His Oklahoma teams were balanced.
He loved running the ball.
But with Caleb Williams, I mean, Woody Marks was great.
He's now with the Houston Texans, but it felt like it was very past-centric and Caleb-centric.
Just get Caleb space.
This is a real team.
They have real size on the defensive front.
They run the ball.
Jordan, Sanders.
They got a kid, Calabasas kid, King, Miller King.
I forget.
Jackson, they got some running backs.
So, college football schedule.
I think Ohio State wins.
Generally, if you're a number one team in the country
and you face an unranked team, even if it's on the road, you win.
So I'll take Ohio State, USC, LSU, A&M, Oregon, Georgia.
And I don't know, Indiana won by 50.
I was just going to say, what's the thought process in Georgia?
Kirby Smart has really struggled against Alabama historically.
Well, for a long time, everybody did.
I think Georgia doesn't lose home games.
And I think Bama's, I think, I think it's, I think it's.
It's a good game, but I'm going to take Georgia and Athens almost every time against everybody, except professional teams.
First things first around the corner on a Wednesday.
It's third.
