Exciting times. Is it a pretty good weekend of NFL games? I looked yesterday. Philadelphia, at Dallas, even with a backup to me, I think it makes it more intriguing because I think they can win with a backup. Miami, Green Bay. Boy, I love Miami. This weekend shaping up as a weather weekend in the NFL.

Just before you lay any bets, you know, thinking look at the, I mean, temperatures are going to be below 30 in a lot of these games. All right, Warren Moon, the Hall of Famer, almost 17, 18 years in the league. By the way, you're in Seattle. What's the weather like in Seattle right now? We've got snow coming down, Colin, and that doesn't happen very much here, but it's coming down, and it's going to be that way, like you said, all over the country. So get ready to play in some bad weather if you're in these NFL cities.

So we talk about this is that quarterback, Gino Smith, you've covered the Seahawks, you're up there. So Seattle's fascinating because they've overachieved all year. and Gino's one of the more accurate throwers in the league. He's big. He's got a good arm. But then you sit around and you watch your burrows and Herbert's and Mahalms and you think to yourself, do you have to have one of those guys, Jalen Hertz, do you have to have one of those guys to win? Seattle is going to have a great draft pick, top five.

Do they have to take a quarterback? I don't think they have to, based off the way Gino's played this year. You know, he's played some really good football. I think what's really hurt him lately is they don't have a running game anymore. Kenneth Walker's been in the out of the lineup hurt. They lost Penny early in the year, and this is an offense that needs to be a little bit more balanced. And their defense was playing really well in the middle part of the year when they got off to that six and three start. They have not played well the last three weeks, giving up a lot of yards on the ground.

So I think if Pete can get that defense back up to speed and they get their running game back going again, And Gino is definitely good enough to lead this football team because he's accurate with the football. He can run it when he needs to. And he just has a really good arm, a lot more underrated arm than people think. And he's just gaining confidence in this offense, the more he's in it. What do you make of Brock Purdy for the Niners? So you're talking about the last player taken. So because of different reasons you went to Canada, came here.

But you know very well. I mean, if you look at the Niners, George Kittle was a fifth rounder. Elijah Mitchell was a six-rounder. Jennings, the wide receiver, was a seventh rounder. So they've hit the Seahawks dynasty, Richard Sherman. There's guys all over the face of the earth that go undrafted and can play. Is Brock Purdy just a cute story, or when you watch him, do you see something as a starter? Well, I watched him play a lot in college in Iowa State, so I know that he can.

can play. You know, he's just undersized coming out, and I think that's what hurt him in the draft. And it doesn't have a, you know, a holitzer for an arm either, but he's very effective. He moves around very well. And in this San Francisco offense, the quarterback doesn't have to be dominant as far as throwing the football. Jimmy G's not that way. And Purdy's not going to be that way. They don't ask him to do that. They're going to run the football effectively. Kyle Shanahan is going a dial-up plays to get guys open. And the ball is never going to go really down the field that far. So as long as he can make the right decisions, get the ball to the right playmakers,

I think he can be very effective in this San Francisco 49er offense. So, you know, it's interesting, and this could be total coincidence. But Lamar is hurt. Tyler's hurt. Jalen's hurt. Tray Lance got hurt running. Zach Wilson runs too much. He's been hurt.

Now, Matt Stafford doesn't run. He's hurt, but he's also older. Josh Allen runs way too much for my taste. He hasn't been hurt, but he's also 6-6-2-60. So I remember, it's interesting, Warren, because you're an interesting guy here. I watched you in college. You had one of the best runs of my young childhood against Washington State in an Apple Cup. I remember very well in a driving rainstorm.

But you really took great pride to sit in that pocket and throw darts. when you do have the ability to move and you did, there was something with you that said, no, I'm sitting in this pocket throwing it. You did not have to. Is it hard? Because I look at this and maybe it's a coincidence. But man, we got a lot of guys that can move, moving, and getting banged up.

What's your take on it? Yeah, it's hard when you have that extra dimension and not want to use it all the time. But I think the smarter these guys get as they get into their careers, they'll understand that I can't take this many chances with getting hurt and not being available for my football team. And that's what happened to me. When I got to Houston, I remember I was scrambling one time down the sidelines, and I'm trying to tiptoe down the sideline to get a couple of extra yards. And Donny Shell, the all football and Hall of Fame's strong safety, he tagged me right in my hip and gave me a hip pointer. and I almost missed the next week's game. And from that point on, I said, I'm not scrambling anymore unless I really have to.

And if I do, I'm going to be smart about it and get down the ground and get out of bounds when I need to. So these young guys, they have all this athletic ability, and I think they want to use it. But I think they're going to see as their careers advance in the league, they can't take as many chances because they're going to get bounced around. And Josh Allen is going to be the same way. You look at what happened to Cam Newton in his career. He was a big, strong physical guy, but it just, over time, wore him down to the point where he's 32 years old and he's out of the league. So these guys have to be much more smarter when they run the football. Use that gift when you need to, but don't overuse it.

So when I watch that Patriots, backwards lateral stuff, do you think players made that up on the go? What do you make it? Would a player have? I mean, with a player have the guts to do that, do you think that was planned? What do you make of that? I hope it wasn't planned. They do have plays where you plan on it. It's the end of the game.

You're behind, and you're just going to try and get the ball down the field any way you possibly can with lateral. And that's actually practiced. But in this case, they weren't behind in the game. It was a tie. They could have win in overtime. I just think it was a bad decision by one player that ended up being a bad decision by two players. and he ended up losing the football game. And you can try and blame it on the coach

because the coach could have just said, let's kneel down here and get the game over instead of running a play at all. But you should hope your players are smart enough not to ladder the ball. And you saw it last night in Green Bay. They got an interception, and the guy laddered with the ball last night.

Yeah, crazy. Those things aren't taught, but I don't know why instinctively these players want to try and make these, quote-unquote, sports center type plays. Yeah, no. But can you imagine if you'd have done that with Don James? I still be running.

I still be running. He's in Seattle. It is snowing in Seattle. It does not snow in the city very often. It doesn't stick when it does. Is it sticking? It's sticking. And that's the important day.

It doesn't matter if it snows and doesn't stick. But it's starting to stick now. Seattle has a lot of hills, so you don't want to be stuck on one of those hills in this snow. Good seeing you, Warren. Appreciate it. Hall of Famer. Happy holidays to you. All right, thanks.

Yeah, last night in the Green Bay game, it's like guys, it's not Frisbee golf. Remember that when they intercepted the ball? I think players now are just getting so casual with the ball. It's crazy. So when you watch that Raider play, let me ask you, I don't think it was coached. I think Stevens in the running back flips it to Jacoby-Myers. And remember, if you watch it again, he literally has a second to make his mind up. And so I would have, I would have stepped out of bounds.

Well, easy to say in hindsight. But Stevenson broke off like 25 yards. If he's tackled with the line of scrimmage, if you see Chandler here, if he misses that, if he makes that tackle, he's not trying to ladder. But look at this. He's like close. Zero, zero, right? And this is where Jacoby Myers was like, had just a brain fart. This is, as Peter King said, one of the smartest guys on the team, he made a mistake. It happens. I can't crucify Jacoby Myers. No, you're right. It was just extremely on. lucky. That's why we've never seen a play like that in NFL history. No, but Warren talks about that Packer guy last night.

It's crazy. Well, I was just trying to make a play. Yeah. I, listen. Yeah, I mean, so to me, the point being is these are young athletes. They're trying to make plays. The offense for New England is not very dynamic. So Stevenson peels off this run and he's thinking there's no time left. Let's make stuff.

And there's about six Raiders around him. So he's thinking, hey. And then Jacoby Myers is like, yeah, we can't move the ball. We're on the road. Let's go for it. I think you're forgetting score at that game. At that point in the game, it's just instinct. Let's try to make a play.

Let's try to make something happen. Sometimes when you throw to me on a topic, I want to force something in there, but I know you can't always force something, you know? I can't force shots. Like when I'm playing pick up hoops, if I haven't got a shot in like five minutes and I get the ball, it's going up. It just is. That's what I'm doing. In the show, when you throw it to me, sometimes I'll be like, I'm not going to do anything

here, we'll just keep it moving. But sometimes, like, Jacoby Myers got that ball after like a 25-yard run. And I think he's looking around thinking, if I can get it back, if I can get it back to Mac, can he throw it? At what point do you think he thought, shh? Oh, I messed up. Was it middle the air? You just see Mack Jones back there. There's nobody behind him in the lateral to. And Mac Jones has like a knee brace on. He's not running anywhere. My first thing was, I couldn't believe it. I had the Raiders, so I was very excited. You know, I'm not going to lie. That felt good. That felt great. So that my, it was ecstasy. And then the second thing I thought is, oh, that poor kid. I'm a dad. I got kids. I just thought, oh, I didn't, that's just awful.

Like, it, it, it's weird. You don't often say that when Zach Wilson is making awful interceptions. Oh, that poor guy. Yeah, Zach Wilson grew up rich. I don't know what Jacoby Myers background is. Well, I mean, 99.9% of human beings don't grow up rich. Zach Wilson grew up with wealth, American wealth. Like how many kids, I remember reading something, God, it must have been 30 years ago, that Bill Lambere was the only player in the NBA whose dad was richer than the player. Apparently Bill Lambeer's dad was a big CEO at like a, I don't know, in Detroit or something. I remember reading that like Sports Illustrated 30 years ago, that by and large, 99% of human beings do not grow up with wealthy parents.

Zach Wilson's wealth is very well documented. I read about it. You know, when he was getting drafted. How are your kids handling growing up with Innswell? No, no, no. We sit on the back in Delta Airlines. That's where we sit. C-30 right by the toilet. That's right.

And we did touch on this yesterday. Detroit did not target defensive rookie of the year. Sauce Gardner once. 66 snaps, didn't out throw at him once. Here he is on Jared Gough avoiding throwing his way. I wouldn't target it yesterday. Not once. But, you know, I don't know what they're.

what their mentality is or mindset is, you know, when they go up against us. But, you know, yesterday I wasn't targeted. Definitely. You know, there is a huge sign of respect. But I was just saying that because, you know, if I catch the ball and I get a pick six, you know, I could, you know, help my team, you know, put some points on the board or just be able to catch an interception to just flip the field, you know, something to get us some points. I remember he played a college game.

Maybe it was a bowl game. Oh, didn't he play Alabama? Yeah. Was it the Alabama game? He locked down James and Williams, yeah. Alabama just wouldn't throw to his side. Like, what's the point? I think it was that game.

For three or four years, he did not give up a touchdown in college football. Like, the guy's amazing. It's a great pick. Well, he's the top-rated corner. Last time I checked on PFF a week ago or three days ago or whatever it was, he was the top-rated corner. Remember, the Houston Texans took Derek Stingley. Well, he's good, too, though. Stingley's had a good year.

He's not in this guy's galaxy. Stop. Well, he's, I go to PFF. He was like fifth, sixth best corner. That would surprise me. Now, he got dinged up. He was hurt in college. Yeah, he missed some.

But Stingley's good. We'll see. We'll see. We'll dubious of that. All right, next up. Brock Purdy has kept the Niners Super Bowl dream alive. Four and O since Garoppolo went down with the foot injury. Many questions how the offense would change after Garoppolo went down.

But Daniel Jeremiah NFL Network believes there's no drop-off from Jimmy G to Purdy. Here's what he says. said on the Rich Eisen Show. What can Jimmy Garoppolo do that got to a Super Bowl and almost won a Super Bowl that that Brock Purdy can't do? I don't think there is anything that he can't do that Jimmy does. So that's why they're a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Purdy's along for the ride.

Let's not get twisted. He's leading this team, but he's good enough. San Francisco is hosting the Washington commanders this week. Taylor Heineke on the road, seven point underdog to Brock. Hurdy in the, aren't you rooting for both quarterbacks game? I would take, I would take the commanders. And the points? Yeah, because Washington tends to play close because of their defense.

Also, the commanders outplayed the Giants. They mean, they had multiple opportunities. The commanders have a really interesting, talented roster. They've got some guys on the outside. Oh, there's no question. And a couple of star rookies. The concern here, if Kavon Tibado could wreck that game, what is Bosa going to do?

And he's got much better defensive supporting cast than Kvon Tibodow. I just, you know, that was like their Super Bowl. Washington had three weeks. Remember, they play the Giants, by, play the Giants. A lot of film on Brock Purdy now. Don't you think the bubble's going to burst

a little? I think it's less about Purdy more about Heineke. If you're thinking about Heineke and Wenton making a change, does Rivera consider it in-game if Heinekees starts slow? I know 7's a lot of points. I just San Francisco's rolling, Colin. Going against them seems like a silly decision.

All right, final one. Speaking of the Niners, rookie team dinners have become the most popular hazing ritual. Several of San Fran's rookies took part in it Monday. Defensive end, Drake Jackson, I think of USC fame, posted on IG showing a dinner tab of over $300. Oh my gosh. Over $300,000?

I don't like this. I don't like this at all. I'm waiting for you to pick up a dinner tab around here. I don't like this at all. This is a, by the way, so what, if it's $300,000, it costs $600,000 because half of your money in San Francisco and in California. So that's a $600,000 dinner, not $300,000. You have to make $600,000 in California. So let me finish.

There's a fun story. Okay. 49ers veteran Eric Armstead went on Twitter to address this prank. Here's what he said. Y'all, silly if you thought a dinner cost $300K. It was a prank. Oh, the waitress went overboard. The dinner was $7,500.

Me and two other vets gave $1,000 toward it. The rook split $4,500. We had a great time, too. I had good vets as this young player would never do a rookie like that. So that's a good prank. Okay, that's a good prank. Yes, I like that. Because I saw that last night in the Internet, and I went to bed angry.

Angry? I don't like it. I was a little nervous joining the show. I heard there is some hazing involved here. Yeah. I told my wife does this all the time. She'll say, oh, it only cost $800. And I said, no, no, no, honey.

It costs $1,600. Daddy got to make $1,600 to buy something for $800. So in California, half is gone. And I'm not a tax gypsy. I don't complain about taxes. I don't love them, but it is what it is. We're paying for stuff. But when anybody sees something, like when you get fined $75,000 by the NFL,

how much do you got to make to pay a $75,000 fine? $150,000. I didn't know math was going to be involved in today's show. I would have on a calculator. But listen, I like the pranks. I'm not a big hazing guy. But it's kind of funny, right? I mean, think about this.

If you're a rookie sitting down, you've got to check for $300,000. I'd be furious. Yeah, of course. You'd probably freak it out and yelling at the guys. And then they're like, hey, settle down. It was a joke. Right? My credit cards would not accept.

I have limits on my cards. Stop it. No, I do. I have limits on every card. Every single card I have is a limit. So if it gets stolen. So I, I, I, I couldn't even come close to paying that bill.

My limit's way under that. So how's this? My son's 11. He initially asked for a MacBook for Christmas. We're like, no. That's crazy. They got on the honor roll so he thought he'd get it. So he goes, I'll just take a credit card.

So now he wants like a gift card that he could just go out and just basically buy stuff all the time. These kids these days, man. He's not watching, but I know a lot of his classmates watch. I got my kids candy corn for Christmas and yard work. That's like a work. Candy corn and yard work. That's what you get for Christmas. What a brutal.

So the schedule's weak, and to your point, they've won three of four. Derwin, James, and Bosa will both return. Even the O-line, which is perennially banged up, is getting healthier. So it does look like they're playing their best football and getting

healthiest at the right time. All right, buy, sell, hold. The Tampa Bay Bucks, one game up in the division will make the playoffs. I would say hold with a lean toward getting in. They're 0 and 7 when allowing 20 plus points. The good news is they play the Panthers and the Falcons. Atlanta sometimes can be... I think they lost to the Panthers this season.

Well, yeah, and that helps actually a little. So their offensive line, they got injuries. Tristan Worf's banged up, Vidavia. So that's been, I mean, even in the preseason. If you go back to the preseason, they were a mess on the offensive line. So it's the same old thing. I think lean toward they get in, but hold. Let's wait for their injuries. All right. Finally, a tough one. Buy-Sillhold, New England Patriots into the playoffs. Sell. Sell, sell, sell. They're playing poorly. Only team without a touchdown pass in the

Don't you have some reservations that they blow it against Green Bay? Blow it against Carolina this weekend. They're going to Carolina. Now, back-to-back road games. Remember, the Jets ended up favored against the Lions. The Lions are now favored in Carolina, laying points on the road. I know. So this is a total. danger game for the Lions. In fact,

Carolina's the side this week, I would think by the Sharman guy, the average Joe is saying, oh, Carolina's going to lose. They just lost Sam Darnold. No. Carolina is dangerous. I'm a hold. All right, we'll make this one quick. New York Jets making the playoffs by Sell, sell, hold. Sell, sell, sell. Sell, sell.

Schedule is not the easiest jags at the Seahawks, at the Dolphins. Back-to-back road games to end the season. Now you've got a coach defending a quarterback. Zach threw for a lot of yards, but he remains very dependent on the big spectacular play. Josh Allen does that too.

Josh Allen's better. So that's my knock on the bills. They are so beholden to just Josh being Superman. Jets feel like they don't want Zach to be that, but that's Zach's DNA. He wants to be Superman. I think it's a problem. No comments at this time from me.

Let's move on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Buy-Sale hold, making the playoffs. Hold, because Tennessee's getting healthier. watch out. Tennessee's getting healthier. And these are tough games. At the Jets, the Titans. Tennessee has Houston this week. And they're going to get healthy.

So Tennessee is going to win one of these games. They outplay the Chargers. So be very careful about this. Now they do face two of the worst offenses in the NFL. But the Titans are getting healthier. And the last game of the season could be the decision game on if they get in. I don't think they're beating the Titans if the Titans are healthier. And I love the Jags. As do I.

Buy Sell hold Green Bay Packers to make the playoffs. Sell. Schedule's brutal. Sell, sell, sell. I think they're going to lose at Miami and then split Minnesota and Detroit at home. But they get three really competent offenses and their defense can't stop the run. So I got Dalvin Cook. They can't stop the run.

Miami ran the heck out of the football against Buffalo. They can't stop the run. And the Lions have two backs I like. So they're going to face three teams with very capable run games. and they can't stop it, meaning Aaron watches from the bench. I think Green Bay is done. Let me ask. They have three tough games, you just said.

Who's got the best quarterback in each of those games? Aaron Rogers, Orta, Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins. Well, that's the sports. It's not over, Colin. All right. Next up, New York Giants to make the playoffs, buy, sell, hold. Hold. Here's the thing.

They're currently the sixth seed. So they got some room here. But their schedule's brutal. At Minnesota, scores points at Philadelphia. Jalen Hertz is probably back to close their season out. And here's the other thing. They can't play from behind. They have to play it.

They can't play from behind. So they're going to play at Minnesota and at Philadelphia. You think they have a chance to trail in those games, second half? I just don't want to see Daniel Jones in the playoffs. Ruining my January. Washington Commanders to make the playoffs. Buy, sell, hold. Sell, sell, sell.

Playing poorly. That loss killed him against a Giants. Well, they played, okay, Taylor Heineke's struggling now with some turnovers. They play the Niners and the Cowboys defenses. So those are rough defenses to play. All right, we'll move on to the Seattle Seahawks. Buy Sell Hole to make the playoffs, Seahawks at Chiefs this weekend. Hold because if they get healthy at run, if they can run the football,

Seattle plays with a ton of energy. My guess is a limit. lean toward they don't get in, but they get back-to-back home games to end the season. That gives them a little bit of hope. And what I worry about is, as they haven't run the football as well, Gino's had four picks and four games. So as they've depended on Gino to carry them more, not what he is. So if they're healthy enough to run the football with any consistency, I think they have a shot.

I would say pretty strong lead sell, but I'll hold as your broker. I'll advise you to hold a little bit of the powder right now. Just hold it a little bit of it. Finally, Miami Dolphins to make the playoffs buy sell hold. Bye. Buy, bye, buy, buy. It's one of my favorite bets of the week. I like them over Green Bay.

They're currently in number seven. They're home for the last two out of three. And by the way, I look at their schedule. They face the Patriots. Tua? That's in New England, by the way. I know. Tua's four and O against the Patriots.

Beem all understand. I mean, maybe they do. If you look at New England and Mack Jones' offensive numbers this year, they literally only can score through the air in the first half because if they can score element of surprise. But in the second half, good luck getting a passing touchdown. Once you take away scripted plays for the Patriots, and it's just down to their personnel,

it's the opposite of Cincinnati. Cincinnati can just rely on personnel. No, Herbert, throwing to Mike Williams, Keenan can rely on personnel and instinct. Once New England gets out of their scripted plays offensively. Have you seen the quarterbacks that New England Patriots beat this year? If you want to laugh at something, go look at their schedule and look at their wins. The last one was against Kyler Murray, but he only played like three plays.

So it was Cole McCoy. There's two against Zach Wilson. They've beaten nobody this year. Yeah, this is worse. The Patriot Way is unraveling. And I think a faster. Get up out of town. He's been terrible.
