What did you make of that performance last night?

I was excited to see those guys perform. Once I saw the trade, I'm like, wow, they got three guys who can legit, like, get their own shot. And out the gate, I just loved the way that they were just moving the – it's like they've been playing for a while together. They moving the ball. They had space in. They just understood everything that was going on in the court. And it was fun to see.

When they got up early, it was like 20. 21-7 early. And by the way, Rui didn't play well. LeBron didn't play much. Beasley didn't have a big shooting night. But the other thing is, when Anthony Davis is engaged, dude, he is great. Oh, he was unstoppable. Unstoppable.

He got to the free line whenever he wanted to. No. When he's engaged, he is a top five, six player. And he's an incredible talent. And I thought, too, he didn't have to, he worked his tail up, but he didn't have to work as hard with Vanderbilt in there. That's right. Because he can run. He has length.

He's athletic. He can score. He can defend. Look at Mr. Cynic over here. What do you? Hold on. Hold on.

He likes Denver. He thinks Denver's a real team. I like Denver. He took five free throw attempts and beat up on a mediocre front line. That's you're supposed to do. Supposed to beat him up. Thank you. That's what you do when you play an average team.

You dominate you crush. Like Kobe said, he said, if you think you're better than me, he said, I'm going to dominate you. If you are worse to me, he said, I'm going to obliterate you. That's right. Don't take it. easy. Don't play down to your opponent. That's right. Okay. So first of all, you had, you had Kansas City in this game, and your reasoning was a lot like mine. Yeah, I picked the Chiefs to win because of Patrick Mahomes. And that was it. There was no other analysis. The week before, I was not sure about

his ankle, and I'm like, Cincinnati might get this done. I was the same way. Yeah, I was like, Cincinnati might get this done. And then when he, when Mahomes did what he did in that game, I was like, I'm not doing it again. I don't care how many pro bowlers. I don't care their record. I don't care what happened. I was like, if someone can do it,

if someone could put on the cape, it is Patrick Wilhomes. One of the things Eagle fans are not addressing and maybe because it's painful, on two different red zone plays, they didn't have a defender within 10 yards. They got out-coached. And I, Sariani had a good game plan.

Defensively, they were, you know how hard it is, Will, in the red zone. It's ridiculous. To be open by 12 yards. Well, it's hard. No, it's not hard to be open in the red zone. Because what happens is in the red zone, the field is wider than it is longer. So there's more

there's more width for them, for office to play with. And right, I think the play's talking about they scored a touchdown on the same play, one to each side. Both wide open. Both wide, because here's what's hard is that they were running motion all game, right? The jet motion. You have zoom motion, which is just

the receiver goes across. You have jet motion where he is sprinting across. You have ZN where he is jogging in. Zoom motion, you have time to adjust because he's not sprinting across. Okay, I'm going to stay with it or I'm going to rock and roll a slingshot it. In this case, they kept running jet motion. And so what happened was the key is on jet motion, you still have to keep your eye on the guy. And we always say we don't really pass it off until they pass the tackle or the center. But jet motion, you have to go now. So the fact that they kept anticipating the Jet Motion, they got an all-game,

they're like, okay, let's communicate this early so we can be on it and stop it on the other side. But what happened was the receivers did a great job of sprinting. Once the DB took the eye off, boom, they turned around, and it was wide open. It was just, it was a great game planning setting them up all game long.

Okay, so you're a DB. I do not like the rugby scrum. I think it's not in the spirit of the game. I think the NFL has tweaked rules forever. I give the Eagles credit for finding a loophole. Now it's up for the IRS to close the loophole. And this is what teams do. I mean, people copied the Wildcat. So you know, that was hiking the ball to a running back. So you know everybody in the league next year is going to use this six times a game. I don't like it. It's not good for offense. I think guys could get hurt.

I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.

I think the scrum is football, but I heard that what the Eagles are doing, they're like rolling, starting. Almost like they're all off sides is what they're doing. Like the ball's not not that, but they're taking off. So I think that's the issue.

I think Cam Haywood. You like that play. I mean, it is what it is. It's guaranteed to work. When the PAT got too simple, they changed it to make it hard. Look, went on first and second down, guys. You know? That's my problem.

Teams will start using this on third down, second down. That's not what the league wants. Well, then the league should fix it. But I don't have a huge issue. Now, if guys are all-sized and are getting a rolling start, then, okay. That's illegal. Exactly. That's illegal in that part.

Yeah, exactly. Cam Hayward. Cubie Sneaks illegal because... I don't want my league to become that. then I'm fine if they don't take it. I'm not like fighting to keep the QB sneaking. I can do it without it. Okay.

Yeah. Okay. So Tiki Barber was on a radio show in New York. I heard that. With Brandon Tierty. I want to play the bite for you guys. You're talking about you used to play in New York with the Giants. You're an East Coast guy.

Now live in West. Let's roll the tape. If he is that sensitive that he gets upset that people, reporters, opinion makers, influencers, whoever want to talk about him, he is going to struggle in New York. And I don't know if it's the right fit for him. I don't know if I want him in New York. If this is going to be his reaction to things that don't matter when you're doing something that feels odd to normal society, which is going to sit in the cabin in the woods for four days and complete century isolation.

It's just kind of, we're going to talk about it. Okay, so you have experience as a giant. My feeling about New York has always been this. New York's hard, even for the wealthy. You're waiting in line. Traffic is hard. Going to games is hard. The weather's harsh.

It's expensive. New York is different in the West Coast. Our weather's good. You can hide in Malibu. Nobody sees you. A lot of people work off hours in Hollywood. It's an easier city. So in New York, they just want you to,

care deeply. If you win, they love you. If you lose, they'll defend you. But you got to be all in on this crap. It took them an hour and a half to get to the stadium. That's why there's a lot of arguments. Yep, but I'm saying there's an angst in New York. They don't, they'll support you forever. There's no way in hell you could say, you know, off season, I'm going to go hang out, do some strange ayahuasca. And I'm not going to work with the receivers. I think Aaron would make them better. But that's sort of above the fray. Remember when you're RELAX, nobody wants to hear

in New York relax. They want you to my wife doesn't like when I say relax. No, no, no, right? It comes across as condescending. Yeah, exactly. You're hyper, you're out of your mind. I'm reasonable. That's what react. So I don't like, I think Aaron would win games and they would like him. I'll say this first of all. I don't, the whole

him being too sensitive when he's like, look, basically Aaron said, if you're not talking to me, then the information is wrong. you know and so him being too sensitive for new york is totally wrong like he's not he's not going to get chewed up by the new york if anything i think the new york media is going to elevate Aaron rogers but what if he says i'm not going to work out in the offseason well what happened at the end of season do they win no they lost you know you you mean if they if he signed to a new york to the jets and he's like i'm not going to show they have young receivers he's like yeah i'll see him in the season i'm not going to

work out with them the media would eat him alive they would in green bay it's but he would be fine I think the problem too is it's like a double-edged sewer where it's great to be unbothered by stuff. But everybody's bothered, aren't they? I'm saying like he can say he's unbored, but people don't like to hear that he's unbothered. It's like you think you're above, you know, or whatever it is. But he's unbothered and people don't like that. I think it's a great quality to have to be unbothered. So you think he works in New York?

I think he works in New York. I think he works in New York just fine. Like, no issue. Like, Love Tiki, you know, this is not anything against him. But in terms of him being too sensitive and that he'll get chewed up, he won't work in New York. Like, that's ridiculous. By the way, where do you fall on B-enemy?

That is such a mystery. There's almost something that, like, we don't know. You know, does he interview that bad or... Does anybody interview that poorly? I mean, it's possible. I don't think so. I don't think so. I mean, I've seen him talk probably three times at a podium,

always has a smile, kind of a good sense of humor. Right. I mean, he's been around the league for a long. I always thought on the podium he's kind of funny. He's kind of likable. He's not like a harsh. Yeah, unless he truly, like, his main desire is like, like, I want to leave and be a head coached, and that's cool.

But honestly, life is good. You know what? Can we get Be Enemy on the show? Put him on tomorrow. I think it's interesting. When I've seen him talk, I think he comes across as like likable. I don't know. Yeah.

I don't know him either. either. But right now, I'm like, if I'm him, like, life is good. Like, why would I leave Kansas City? To be a coordinator for Sam Howell? I don't get that at all. Like I said, unless his true desire is like, hey, I want to leave. I want to do my own thing. I want to, you know, go somewhere else. But right now, like, why would I leave? You know, maybe he is the successor. How old is he 40 something? Is he 30-50? I mean, he's that, like, his runway is not ending. Like, yeah, let me, let me enjoy this experience. I'm not leaving. Somebody told, he's 53. Somebody told me, like a couple years ago, he wasn't a great interview, but I would say, is Matt Patricia? I mean, seriously. Like, not everybody's a guy, but I, but here's what, here's what hard about the league, too, is not just for coaches, but players as well. Or even executives, it's all personal preference.

It is. It's, it's who do you want? It's all personal preference. Someone could be super qualified. And obviously, this is a huge case in terms of, like, you know, you know, hiring African-American coaches or executives, it's personal preference. And that's what's very, very, very, very difficult. What worried me a little bit is that the Bears GM worked with him in Kansas City and did

not interview him for the job in Chicago. That was weird. You'd bring him over for an interview. Now, duly noted, I was told Bill Pollian ran the coaching through the McCaskies. Bill Polion did it, and he knew Iberfluse. but I thought that was odd, but that Poles, that, is it Ryan Poles? Ryan Poles, yeah. I played with Ryan at BC.

Oh, you know him? Yeah, I played him in Boston College. Yeah, did you just drop that, right? You didn't lead with that? You buried the lead? I had no idea. I didn't know what I'm going to talk about the Bears. Okay.

Okay, listen, now let's stay on the Bears. My theory is, it doesn't take long to spot greatness or awful. You could tell Zach Wilson early, wasn't going to work. I could tell Herbert first half of the first game was good. First launch, yeah. Okay. Justin Fields is neither. He's not terrible and he's not great. It's unknown.

I think it's kind of known. I think he struggles throwing accurately on a consistent level. Do you think he was given an actual like, we got to see like the best of him at any point? I feel like there's been a lot of like, I've got two years. I think there's been a lot of like experimenting trying to figure out what offense can we do. Okay, so here's my thing. I think Luke gets he's a pretty good coordinator. But here's what I don't like hearing. He didn't have anything to work with. All right. Cole commits a better tied-in than anybody the Giants have.

And Mooney is great. Thank you and Chase Claypool and Mooney would both start for the Giants. PFF has the Bears O-line rank 14th, the Giants 30th. Herbert's an outstating runnerback. Well, their two backs are B's, Sequins and A, but they have serviceable backs. So they have serviceable backs, a better tight end, a better receiving core, and a better O-line than the Giants. And the Giants got into the playoffs in a tougher division and won a playoff game. I'm tired of hearing about he's got nothing.

Mooney's out. He's probably a two, but he's an outstanding two. I love Mooney, yeah. And so Cole come that's good. Claypool came there and disappeared. I'm not saying, I'm 60, 40, Justin's going to work. I got two years here. They lost 10 straight.

I think he played 8 of the 10. I'm starting to doubt it. A little? Two years? Right. Before Burrow got hurt as a rookie. Bingles Online was trash. No Jamar Chase. A coach nobody liked Zach Taylor at the time.

Before he got hurt, he threw for 400 once and 300, I think three times. And he was complete like 65% of his throat. Yeah, but he's in that category of like, man, he's one of the, he's like, he was the for sure can't miss guy. But I'm hearing. So my takeaway is two years, here's what I know. He's not that and he's not terrible. He's somewhere between 11 and 20 in the league. And that's fine.

That's a start. That's fine. Yeah. But I would make calls on a quarterback 11 to 20. There is no question he's making calls. I think the- Would you make calls? Yeah, the Bears right now, I think where they're sitting at in the draft, they have the league hostage.

Like they can do so much right there where they are. And then in terms of the hard thing, too, is like what Justin feels, like that's not Ryan Poles' guy. You know, he didn't draft him. So that's why anything can happen. You know, does he want to, and the cool thing, you can draft a QB and still build your team. You know what I'm saying?

So that's the benefit nowadays, too. Like back then, you couldn't do that. You draft a quarterback high, you know, is going to light up your, tear up your pocket, so you can't really build a team around him. So you can get your QB, and you can still get your pass rusher in this draft and still build your team. If I was Atlanta, I would call today on Justin Fields.

In that division, I would call today. Right. That makes sense, because what Marriota did, you know, He would be a backup. You're right. So you'd have a baked-in, perfect backup to his style. And you have an offensive coach. So Justin now gets an offensive coach.

So you don't like Ritter? Is that what it is? Come on. I ask a question. I'm just, why you got to be like that, though? What do you think? Come on. I mean, seriously.

I mean, he asked that question. I mean, what? Justin Field Ritter. I mean, come on. What are we doing here? We don't know. It's unknown. I know.

I mean, the GM would have to concede. I got Desmond Ritter wrong in the second round last year. And that's the kind of thing. It feels goes sideways and there's seven and nine. Ritter was a second round guy, wasn't he? Still. You don't concede that you whiffed on him. That's how GM lose their jobs, right?

You're not conceding your wiff. I mean, if you, well, find out where Ritter was, he wasn't drafted first round. I think it was second round. Let me find out. Third round. Yeah. You're not conceding squat.

He's a backup. I mean, yeah, conceding, you made a mistake is Zach. Wilson. Well, he's been given two years. I'm telling you. Right, full-time starter. I'll make, I'll make, he was the second pick. Let me make an argument. For Justin Fields, Atlanta's got an offensive coach. I like Arthur Blank, way better than the owners of the Bears. The division's significantly weaker. I think Atlanta's better for

Justin Fields. Yeah, the South is wide open. It is wide open. You look at the Falcons, receivers will? About as bad as the Bears Receivers. It's called the draft. That's why you have the draft. Yeah, by the way, Drake London, terrible. Don't put them on your fantasy team.

Don't, yeah. Kyle Pitts, get rid of him. Kyle Pitts, Kyle Pitts and Drake London. You think that's a bad starting point? It's okay. Oh, boy. That's all you got?

What is this guy? You said he's being cynical. Then you see that when I got. If you're not the Bengals, you're terrible. You're not the Bengals. All right, Garrett Wilson. Let's be real. Okay. Let's just start there.

20 and 0 for the Chiefs. Now, he's crazy. But I will tell you this. Mahomes has no ego. They played 10 rookies got snaps. I don't remember the last time I've, I looked at a Super Bowl champ and went, this was the year to beat him.

Kind of? Your take? I had the Chiefs losing one game this year. I did. It just says a lot about the culture where guys can just come in, buy in, they know what it is. Especially when you go to a place like that,

like Kansas City, where the standard is the AAC championship game or Super Bowl, like that is the standard. The Warriors. Yeah, it's the standard. You go in, you immediately, just because of what it is, you're like, okay, I know what I need to do. Versus like, I remember when I went to Jacksonville, when Gus Bradley first took over, and a lot of guys were coming in like, hey, I'm here to do me. Like, we're not good. I'm just going to do me.

We started 0 and 8. Guys are still, hey, we're just trying to do me and not really trying to bind into the culture because there was not, there wasn't a winning culture at Jacksonville at the time. Yeah, there's a standard with the Warriors and the Chief. Yeah, you walk into the building. Look around. Don't screw around. You see that man? You see 15, my homes?

Yeah. Don't mess up his situation. Don't screw this up. Right. When I was in the Giants, when we, they built that culture, it was like, go ahead. You're going to get beat up. Literally, you will get beat up. If you're screwing around.

If you're screwed around. You're not a screw around guy. No, me, you're right. I'm the ultimate. That's why I play 12 years. I'm the ultimate culture guy. I got brought in late in my career to help build cultures. You know what people say, though, when you do that, you're selling out.

But a friend of the show, Peter King, he was on a radio show, Rich Eisen's show, and said maybe there's another option if they miss out on Rogers. Here's Peter King. We all think, and I think you think, that the number one step would be Aaron Rogers. If that doesn't work, could the number two step be Lamar Jackson? And this is going to be one of the toughest decisions a franchise, in my opinion, has had in recent years for a very simple reason. Obviously, anybody would want Lamar Jackson to be the quarterback of the team. But how much guaranteed money are you willing to give a player who in the last two years has missed 34% of the snaps because of injury?

Yeah, it's a real question. And I do think there's a sense of urgency for this coaching staff. So you know the coaching staff wants a star quarterback. They don't, the Jets are interesting. Quinn and Williams, great D. Lyman, they're going to have to pay. They're not paying a lot of their best players. Sauce Gardner's a freebie. That edge rusher they drafted.

Reese Hall is excellent. Austin Vera Tucker, I don't, is he, Elijah Vera Tucker, is he paid yet? No. So the Jets are, they've hit on a couple of drafts the last couple of years. They've got seven or eight elite players. They're not paying yet. So I think they can make this work. Okay.

So let's talk through it. Ravens call the Jets. And I'm the Ravens. You're the Jets. So what are you going to offer me for Lamar Jackson, who's won an MVP, goes to the playoffs every year he's healthy. What are you going to offer me?

Two ones. I'm laughing at you. Two ones, that's it? What did Russell Wilson get? Lamar Jackson isn't in the class of Russell Wilson. Didn't have back-to-back injured years. This guy misses a lot of starts. We're taking a big rest here.

Like, I mean, the Jets don't, so they've got to give up a lot in a trade. They have to give up. And then they've got to give them a ton of guaranteed money.

I like the idea of it. Let me ask you, Zach Wilson and Mike White are cheap. Or Lamar's expensive. Which one are you comfortable with? You got to trade for Lamar, too. That's why the question is, Jimmy Garapolo in free agency who's going to cost you nothing but a contract, no trade. and he's not as good as Lamar, but

as we just saw with Jalen Hertz. Mike McDaniel's offense, Josh Allen twice a year, and that's Garoppel is it. Derek Carr? I mean, Derek Carr's going to be a little cheaper. He's not coming there. Derek's not coming there.

He's going to Carolina. I don't know. I just think when I think about the speed on that offense, Brice Hall, Lamar Jackson, those young receivers, that is a handful. That is a lot to defend.

Because we know their defense will be good with Sala. I know the defense and the special teams, I don't worry about. You give me that kind of dynamic athlete at quarterback. That's a team. All right, give me two ones and Quinn and Williams. I'm not giving you a pro

bowler and two ones. I'll give you two ones and DJ, is DJ Reed the second corner? He's good, yeah. Okay, I'll give you our second best corner in two ones. So the first round pick this year and next year. And then a good corner. And a number two corner. Yeah, that's a

Also, Ravens draft very well, so they'll draft a quarterback. Well, the Jets have drafted well except for quarterback, but then the problem is how do you negotiate with Lamar? Like, he's going to want a billion dollars. The Jets are desperate. They've never had a franchise quarterback. I don't know that. You don't know that? There's a lot of stories.

Nobody's paying anybody Mahomes money except Mahomes. Nobody's demanding that. He's not Mahomes. He gets hurt and he's not good. He says I want Josh Allen money. Josh Allen's been to as many Super Bowls as me, and he has fewer MVPs than I. Who are the Jets? They're not paying anybody.

All their best players are young except Quinn and Williams. They're all a bunch of kids. They're not paying anybody. And they're not paying them this year or next year. I like how you quietly become a Jets fan. And by the way, if you trust Joe Douglas, he'll have another good draft, which is three or four more starters. You're not paying.

In the NBA right now, Nicole Yokic is having a monster year. He's won two MVP's in a row. The Nuggets are the number one. team in the West by, I think, five games.

He's now averaging a trip dub, 24, 11, and 10. Oh, by the way, he's like a 610, 611 center. Yeah, good pass. He is looking to become the first player, Colin, in over 35 years to win three straight MVP's. The last was, a gentleman by the name of Larry Bird.

And he'd give them all up for a title, Yonis has one. Who cares? It's an award. I want titles. All this award stuff means nothing to me. Hardware. Celtics will give up all the good if they'd won the title last year. So you're telling me it means nothing that he's going to be the first player since

Bird, Chamberlain, and Russell to win through straight MVP. Michael Jordan didn't do it. I think Russell would get... LeBron didn't do it. You think Wilt would have given those up for two more... Magic Johnson didn't do it. Magic Johnson was in nine finals. He doesn't need to be validated.

So what do you say? This guy hasn't done squat in the postseason. MVP's are irrelevant, the regular season. I don't care about awards. I'm not into awards. I'm into titles. I like titles. I don't care about paper and plaques and all that nonsense.

I mean, you're telling me, he's a good player. I mean, he's a terrific player. He's very, very productive. He's a good player. He's a terrific player. He's productive. Okay, Janice, is that? The two-time MVP who's averaging a triple double.

Well, I don't think that's the be all and all, but you're true. But that matters. I mean, if you say Steph Curry, everybody knows who he is.
