Monologue's going to be a little bit about Lane Kiffin. Is this somewhat of an audition for LSU? as they host them this weekend. A bunch of eyes will be on that game. And is Alabama, Tennessee still a rivalry after what has become the annual beatdown on the third Saturday in October? We're going to talk about that.

Tyler Siskie, former Alabama and Ole Miss assistant is going to join us. We're going to talk a little bit of landscape looking as it kind of winds toward the playoff. We get past the halfway point. Going to hear some more great stories from his time with Coach Sabin and Coach Freeze as well. We're going to play five big questions.

We all know how big they are. Jamari Sawyer is going to join us from Georgia, standout offensive line, talk about the by week a little more about the team. We make our weekend bets. And if you haven't heard the news, today is the day, Blaine. Today is the day. If you have been in another country or under a rock, Blaine's lost a couple bets to me, lost the first one, then we doubled or nothing. He took that L as well.

So we have got him some wings. David Cohn has acquired a sauce we had to smuggle over here internationally, basically. And Blaine at the end of the show, as he is making his picks, is going to have to eat those hot wings, enjoy those hot wings, be miserable with those hot wings. I don't know what's going to have this live to. Sabre. Sabre. Save her. Hold on. You get your moment in a second. Okay. Go ahead. But I just want everybody to know, just as his brother, someone that's known of his whole life,

I am going to thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy what happens at the end of the show. So, anyway, Blaine, do you want to say anything before I get in my monologue? Yeah, a couple things. First thing, I just met this guy like three weeks ago. We got a parent-trap situation here. I don't know what he's talking about. And, you know, I like to live dangerously. Both those bets were living dangerous.

And, you know, and now I've got to face the repercussions of it. Do you see what happens, Blaine? I'm going to walk tall, right? The rock. I'm going to walk strong. into these wings and I'm going to finish him. He might just own these wings. And I'm going to finish them.

I'll tell you what, if you fight back the pain, I'm going to be really disappointed. I want genuine. The people want a show, Blame. It's like when those brothers fought each other in the UFC and like what him broke his arm, but they wouldn't quit. So everyone had to tap him out.

I can remember. He like ripped a door off a tank and save 13 people. There will be no tapping today. Yeah, I just can't wait. I don't think anybody can wait. But speaking about waiting, I cannot wait for this old. Ole Miss LSU matchup, not just from a, you know, it's an interesting storyline with LSU going in playing with House Money.

Ole Miss, a little bit beat up, how healthy is Matt Corral? I don't see a world in which he doesn't play. But a big kind of underlying, I guess you could say overlying, question here is, is this somewhat of an audition for Lane Kiffin? And we've talked about Lane Kiffin, LSU. I think it's a real possibility. Is this a make or break for Lane Kiffin and LSU? No, it's not. I don't think they're going to base it off one decision.

And if you did, you look at the way ULL played Arkansas State last night and take a conclusion about Billy Napier that's not right. Napier, I'd say that on backwards all the time. But when you look at this game and you look at the type of person that Lane is, number one, if this is just a ruse for him to get more money out of Ole Miss, what a better way than to run the score up when they retire Eli's jersey against that LSU team? Or drive the price up of how much it's going to cost. to get you.

And we all know in the society we live in today, from administrationally to business, to whatever at these schools, it's not what have you done for me lately. It's not what are you doing for me right now? It's what are you going to do for me tomorrow? And Lane Kiffin's been a hot name. They've had success at Ole Miss. You know LSU will be able to recruit itself.

But when you look at this game and you look at the surroundings, this is a chance for Lane to really boost his portfolio even more. If they win close, everybody will still be excited and this, that, and the other. But do not think for a second if Ole Miss has the chance to run the score up in this game, that they will not make this try and look as ugly as possible. Benefits everybody. Don't think Scott Woodward and all the people in that LSU administration,

if they watch that game and Ole Miss runs it up 5621, somewhere around there, the price goes up. This is all a game to make the price go up either way. It's a win-win if you look at it, really from a coaching standpoint when you're in this situation. You could say maybe Mel Tucker's in a similar situation with what he has going on in the schedule they have coming at Michigan State. But what a better way to extend your brand, maximize your brand, and increase your price to the max if you're Lane Kiffin, to say, okay, LSU, that school's one of the prettiest girls at the dance in college football. How about I show you a little bit of something I'm cooking over here?

And on the other hand, you can say, listen to Ole Miss, it's been great, it's been a really good marriage. We're not arguing a lot. Kids are in good schools. Everybody's happy. Expectations aren't what they are at LSU. That's just the truth. Why don't y'all pay me a little bit more to stay? Because when you look at the full dynamic of this, it's storyline. inside of storyline, inside of storyline. It's almost like inception, a dream within a dream, within a dream.

I'm just waiting on Leo DiCaprio to run on the field during halftime with a briefcase, spinning a dreidel, freaking everybody out, telling them they've got to come with him. But do not think for a second either that Lane Kiffin's ego every night isn't coming out in the mirror saying, drag them.

How bad can you beat them? We know about the swag you had, catching the water bottle off the field at Tennessee, the savage moments, the golf ball incident. Imagine if you were able to roll up 45, 50 on LSU, the price goes up. And that's what this all comes down to. So is it an audition for Lane Kiffin? You could say that. Could it be a promotion or a raise for Lane Kiffin?

I can definitely see that. And that's one in the water cooler. Now, to my second part here with 10,000. Tennessee and Alabama. And I want to make sure we separate the, you know, the rocks in the sand here. Emotionally, things can be a rivalry. Emotionally. But for a full, complete rivalry, you have to be able to beat each other, or at least win a couple big ones here and there. Great examples around the country. Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia. But then you have the other side of the coin. And it's a little bit different, in my opinion, with Ohio State and Michigan, even though Ohio State has dominated that. That rivalry through the test of time, we know, is very, very strong.

And I think it could change this year. And at least Michigan is looking like they're on their way up. Not that Tennessee hasn't looked good, but they really haven't beaten anybody. But let me ask you this. In a true rivalry, what you consider rivalries today in college football, because rivalries get made out of thin air. We're going to have rivalries made out of conference expansion. a team that has lost 14 times in a row in football. To me, we can't really call that a rivalry.

You can dislike each other. That's one thing. But for it to be a rivalry, you have to actually beat the other team. And 14 years is a long time. I was in high school the last time Tennessee beat Alabama. And ask yourself this. It's been so bad. What is one memory that you can remember in the last 15 years of the Tennessee Alabama game?

There's only one that comes to mind for me that really sticks out. Terrence Cody blocking the field goal. Other than that, Alabama just ran in the room, grabbed the stakes, the remote, and the dog ran out and left you to pay the rent. And I don't see it slowing down any time soon. I think this thing could drag out to 20. But at what point do we start saying, hey, it's kind of hard to call this a rivalry anymore when every time you come down the street, you're getting beat up and running back home.

And there's an exam. You can look at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. You can make this argument at a couple different places. But in most rivalries, you have the back and forth. It's not 50-50 most times. 60-40. Heck, even 70-30. Seven out of 10.

But 14 in a row. in a row that's what like four administrations I don't think you can consider this game and we say you know the third Saturday in October whatever it is well it's just another Saturday

this is another game this is another game this isn't a rivalry game anymore it's not until Tennessee can beat Alabama we will not consider this in the same air as some of these other rivalries not even the best rivalries

I'm not even talking mid-tier rivalries 14 times in a row. And you're the cross-divisional permanent opponent? I mean, at the end of the day, you've got to call spade a spade. And I like Josh Hype. I like what he's doing at Tennessee. But that's embarrassing. You can't call it a robbery.

You can't say anything. What can you say? What can you say? I mean, it hasn't really been close either if you look at the scores. Read the scores. Read it. 48, 17. Destruction. 35-13.

Eat them. 5521. Demolition. 45-7. It's ugly. 49, 10. It's even uglier. Then the closest one in 2015 was 19-14, then 45-10, 44, 13, 37, 6, 41, 10.

Let me push back on this. It's getting physical out here. Let's push back on this, man. Let me push you back on this. Okay. First of all, this has been a streaky rivalry, right? I think before the last 14, I think Tennessee won 10 out of 11, right? I mean, they own the 90s.

Okay. Alabama owned the 70s, okay? It's been a streaky rivalry. not as much fun in a rivalry as we'd like. Okay, we want to see the Auburn, Alabama, where it's like every single year, one of them can beat the other one. But I just don't, I think that you were talking about

at the beginning, the level of emotion that you have, doesn't really matter. I do think that it matters because even if you talk to these Alabama fans, right, if you talk to them, they still hate Tennessee so much. I mean, hate week for them starts that Sunday after the previous game. And Tennessee fans have not packed it in. You can say what you know about them.

No, they have not packed it in. They are standing by that football team. They are riding for them, and Tennessee will be good again. They're so in everything they can for that team. Let me make one more thing here. Okay. Now, you can say, look, this rivalry hasn't been meaningful. It hasn't been relevant, you know, things like that.

I don't think this rivalry has gone away. And I'll give you one prime example here to really showcase for me. I didn't even think, you know, that much about this rivalry until I saw this. When Jalen Hertz left Alabama and went to Oklahoma, He's the starting quarterback for Oklahoma. He still busts out a cigar after Alabama beat Tennessee that weekend. That's a rivalry, man. That's a rivalry.

Let me ask you this. And again, you know me and you know the show. We love dissent. And you can have multiple logical, rational thoughts on both sides of it. But if you, let's say you love just fried chicken, just for an example. Let's just say you love it. I do indeed. chicken every day in a row for a year the first day of that next year would you love fried chicken as

much probably i probably would unless it had this hot sauce that blaze about to eat my point my point my point is this eventually and you can still get up and get excited i just think the natural human condition the emotion is beat down for this game because it's it's like like a hit like a like you're getting hit over and over again and then you start flinching right? I think now it's gone from Tennessee before this big run. I really even halfway through this big run. Hey, we legitimately can beat these guys. I'm excited because we know we can line up and legitimately beat these guys.

Eventually, I think that emotion is woken up into, yeah, man, I hate Alabama, but we're going to lose. I get it. No, I get it. And they need to do better. Tennessee needs to do better. They need to pop off a win here. This is what we said about Michigan, Ohio State. That's exactly right.

That's exactly right. But if you talk to these Alabama, Alabama fans are the ones who could just say, no, sorry, it's not a rivalry anymore. Don't even consider yourself. But they're winning. See, that's different. They're winning, no. And on the other hand, you have LSU who has been much more competitive. But you talk to a lot of these old school Alabama fans, they still hate Tennessee more than they do LSU, but not as much as Auburn.

You said something right there, because let's think about this. What is a rivalry need to be able to sustain and maintain? Relevance, right? Relevance. Yeah. All the old heads that remember Tennessee. Tennessee competing with Alabama. That's different.

But just like anything, that wave of people will be gone at some point. And the new wave that has watched this rivalry, if that's what you want to call it, and has seen Alabama just run away with it, does it mean as much to them as it meant to the people before them that saw Tennessee compete? And from a college football purist standpoint, I don't like it. Yeah, I don't like it. I don't like the fact that it's been so lopsided this and the other. I don't like the fact that Miami and Florida State haven't been good.

I don't like the fact that the Michigan, Ohio State rivalry hasn't been good. It's not good for college football or that U.S.C. is not good and stuff like that, or that Notre Dame, you know, has been good, but they're kind of seen as fake. For college football to be as good as it can, needs to operate and needs to have the teams that can operate at a full capacity and just make it competitive. We haven't seen that. Ask a 15, 16, 7. No, I get that. I get that.

But you can't just say that rivalries come and go based off if the teams are good, that year not. I think over time they do. The foundation, that hatred in the foundation. I think over time they do. Yeah, well, sure. I mean, you give something enough time. When's that time Prince had played Rutgers? We talk about Nebraska with this a lot, right? A blue blood history. I mean, they were playing them on the TV today here, right? I mean, I remember watching them play for a national title against Miami and things have gone by the wayside. Look, we talk about this all the

time when it comes to Michigan. We talk about Southern Cal and Texas Austin and things like that. But the foundation for a great rivalry is still there. I mean, if Tennessee were to go pop off another 10 in a row like they did in the late 90s and early 2000s. But then you can't say, well, the rivalries back. You can say it's relevant again. It matters again. But the foundation for that rivalry is still there. So you're saying, and I'm not saying you're wrong, you can be right on the side,

you're saying that as long as there's a foundation at some point for a rivalry, regardless of how relevant is or a team can lose 200 games in a row, it is still as much of a rivalry as it always is. See, I just don't think over time that works. Not as it always is. It matters a lot more when. See, that's my point. You can put Auburn and Georgia

almost in the same time. You look at the way Georgia's dominated Auburn. You're not crazy saying that, but it's different than losing 14 in a row. It would be more telling for me if Alabama fans laughed this off. Right? Alabama fans, okay, and that's fine. But if the whole Alabama fan base just laughed this on me, like Tennessee is irrelevant. But they still hate to, and that hatred, and we're talking about the old heads,

I mean, people like Nick Saban who do treat this as an old school rivalry. That's the reason they beat him so many times in a row. That's the reason he beats him. Everybody's a rival to them. Southern Miss is an old rival to them. I remember the time Brett Farver and them came up here and Pete Alabama and Brian Denny. So it's a great conversation. We're going to get to the booster club, Blaine.

And I want Tennessee and Alabama fans' thoughts on it. But I want another guy's thoughts first. Yeah, let's get Coach Sisk here to ask. Let's get Tyler Sisk in here. Let's see what he says here. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. There he is. What's up, Coach?

Look at him. Look, he's got the tiger hat on, the Packers sweatshirt on, and he's rolling. Please, can the brave... Coach, why you got to bring that up, man? I'm trying to keep myself together with how the Braves and Dodgers are going right now, even though they're up. But I appreciate you hopping on. Patience, just patience.

Look, I'm not a doctor. I don't have patience. But anyways, Coach, I want to start with what we were just talking about. Tennessee and Alabama. All right, I don't know how much of the monologue you were able to hear. I get that we... Okay, you got a few minutes. So you know where we stand on it. I'm saying the new generation of Tennessee fans, and really Alabama fans, if this rivalry does not turn around, Alabama's about to win again.

And I don't see them losing to Tennessee anytime soon. I just think over time, I'm not Pythagoras. You know, I don't have a theorem, but over time, if you don't win enough, it loses its relevancy and therefore really isn't a rivalry anymore. It's just an annual ass kicking that one group shows. was up for? I'm a big believer that rivalries, it needs to be one team. Like, I hate watching, you know, everybody is not a rival. Yeah, yeah.

For me, Alabama is Alabama and Auburn, right? For sure. And now I will say this the same one with Auburn fans, right? Auburn, Georgia, those are traditions. Those aren't rivalries. They're traditional. Oh, it's a great way to put it. That's a great way to put it.

And, you know, it's the third Saturday in October tradition. I was actually upset that they moved the Georgia game to earlier in the year. I like it when it was at the end of the year. But, you know, I think that's the way to look at it. I did hear your point, and I 100% agree with you on this, is that you got to remember the reason that this game is still a robbery and it's still being played, you know, there was a discussion. I don't ever think it came out in the media.

I was pregnant up to listen to the discussion part of it, that there was going to be some realignment going on inside the SEC. probably about four or five years ago when I was at Alabama. And the discussion was to take Tennessee, you know, was to basically move Auburn into the other division and bring Tennessee into Alabama's division. And it was the whole discussion was like, look, that had happened because the people that are paying the money

that have the money to donate to the programs, they care about this robbery. And so they want to see old heads. And that's where the money's at. And until the people of our age become the old heads, It's what you're going to have. That's exactly right. It's a great way to put it, a tradition, not so much as a rivalry,

because I am with the one-team rivalries. I mean, we want to talk about rival. You won't say Ohio State. You just say Ohio. You have yet to say Ohio State. That's a real rivalry. You're talking about Ohio? Yeah.

You're talking about the Buckeyes? I love that, man. That's a real rivalry. Auburn, Alabama, that's a real rivalry. But, Coach, let's look at some of the games this weekend. Is it the sexiest slate of all time? No, but we have football, and there's some sneaky good games here. Let's start Ole Miss LSU.

I talked to my monologue about is this may be somewhat of an audition for Lane Kiffen, not that it would be make or break, but you know Lane, I know Lane. The price would go up on either side if they play well this weekend. Yeah, you know, when it comes to coaching searches, I have such a different mindset on this stuff because I've been behind the curtain a little bit. And so have you, you know, these things take on a whole new life of their own. You know, everybody's throwing around metal. Tucker, right? Everybody's throwing it. There's so many things that can go on between now and the time that they actually can hire a guy.

Like, let's look at Mel Tucker, right? Which I think is a fantastic candidate, by the way. I want to say that from the jump. Yeah. But he's still got to play Michigan, Purdue, Penn State, Ohio State, and Maryland. We're going to find out. I mean, what if he goes 0 and 5? Nobody's ever going to be bringing his name up again, right? I think the same thing you say with Lane with anybody. It's going to be whoever's hot at the time. And to me it's going to be, does LSU want to win the press conference or do they want to win football games? That's to me the decision.

Yeah. And if you're Scott Woodward. We get caught a little bit too much of that. Yeah, and again, it's so fluid, especially when you fire somebody during the season. Because it's not just like you can be like, all right, hey, James Franklin, just come on over next week. We got Ole Miss. You can just come on, leave Penn State. It doesn't work like that.

It's like you look at USC making the change. and the time frame on that. You know, on one hand, there's pros and cons to everything. But I thought it was interesting, you know, Eddo hanging out. But how do you see this game going Saturday? Because when I look at it, you got to look at injuries. You always do. And there's so many circumstances that go on.

I know it's going to be emotional. Eli's going to be there. You know, the retiring is Jersey and this, that, and the other. But I look at this matchup. If it's LSU, they're kind of scary because it's free money. Like you're not, you have nothing. What are they going to do? Fire you?

You know, if your old men? you beat up, a lot of expectations. I don't think there's a chance in hell that Matt Corral doesn't play, but I think there's a good chance he may not be as mobile as what he normally is, and that takes away a big weapon when they don't have a ton of weapons around him like they did last year. Yeah, there is 0.0% chance that he doesn't play. For sure. He's playing.

So if anybody's worried about that, he's playing. On the injury side, you know, when it comes to the Ole Miss side, Braylon Sanders is the key to me. I think last week you saw when he went out, I think Ole Miss, and please fact-check me because I'm just talking off the top of my head. But to my recollection, I only think they scored seven points after he went out. I don't think you're far off if you're wrong. And Jake, you're a defensive guy.

And, you know, I see this from my offense perspective, obviously. But when he goes out of the game, now all of a sudden they can start bracketing and drumming. For sure. And even mixing up, now what Tennessee did a good job while I was mixing up man in zone. LSU's going to a lot of playing man-free every snap. We all know that. I don't even have to watch the film. That's what they're going to do.

We're going to let up play Man Free of a snap. So Lane loves that now. That's his bread and butter. He's going to be able to scheme things. Mac Rowell is good enough to make the throw. So I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens. But Brayland Sanders is going to be the key of the game. If he can go and take away the bracket, because you can play bracket, obviously, in man coverage.

You can take away the bracket from Drummond or anyone can step up and take the bracket away from drumming. I think Ole Miss will score a ton of points. For sure. And let's get a little schematic here. here for a second coach this is always fun when we have you on play oh for sure playing man you know the answer to that you know you never want to be on the same level defensively

and get and pick this that and the other but you can still bracket out a man free it's obviously easy to bracket out of two man with too high it's kind of pick your poison on which side which one do you want but the biggest thing to me when you're playing a team like old miss that has so many answers to man free is not only your alignment and the levels the dbs and the nickels are aligned but being able to make the switch call in man

and making sure you're not running your into each other and having the ability to match. You know, people, we would make a switch call. People call it match coverage, whatever, whatever. Is that something that LSU has to master this week, even without, even if, you know, Braylon Sanders is beat up and they don't have a mingo or an Elijah Moore or Kenny a boa anymore, that scheme can still give you problems if you're not matching coverage and saying, all right, because what I mean by that for our audience, if you're listening audio,

think about two wide receivers, all right, next to each other. Think about two DBs out there. Well, if they run any crosser slants or anything to try and pick, the inside and the outside guy, you have the ability as the inside defender to say, hey, I've got the guy coming at me, and the outside defender say, hey, I got the guy coming at me instead of having to be locked on and them using that to pick. Is that something you think is going to be big this week? Yeah, and I'll tell you something else, and I know you, I listen to Monday or Tuesday, I don't remember what show it was, and you kind of hit on it,

but the other thing LSU's got to do a good job of is just what you're saying, but the backers to either, they got to do a great job of either, A, mixing it up between spying on corral, if he's healthy and run and cutting the crossers. Okay? This is what you're talking about. So to give help of those crosses with the backers. So if it's man free, you can play spire or you can cut crossers. You know when you're banjo in the back.

Do your listeners know what banjo in the back means? Tell them what banjo means. We've slowly been filtering and we're trying to be like Rosetta Stone. I'm going to teach you and for the and all the conjunctions and we'll work our way up to contractions and stuff like that. But tell them banjo. That's a very easily used term and understood term. Yeah.

So Bangeo in the back, you've got two split backer structure, whatever it is. The back releases to the right. The right linebacker has him and the other back. Usually either has spy or cuts crossers and vice versa. And then the other thing I think they can do is show too high and play one robber, bring it to play a man. Come on down. And then they need to mix up who's cutting the crossers in coverage.

And you can sometimes you play one robber. You can run into a pick real easy too now, especially in RPO offenses. You know, you can play outside leverage on number two. invite that slant on the number two in the RPO and then play one robber and just go pick it off. So I think you're going to see some things like that come tomorrow. For sure and for sure. And that's the battle inside of the battle. That's always the fun thing to watch because, again, that's a lot on the linebackers,

but you have to be able to do it because I promise you Ole Miss is going to be looking at it. And all you do is hit one of those crossers. And if you're in man, you got your back turn. It could be 88 and out the gate. But coach too on this LSU Ole Miss game, I've watched a lot of ball. You've watched a lot of ball. I've watched LSU all year. They've struggled to run the ball,

especially when they were using their zone scheme, whether it was mid, whether it was outside. But you go back and watch the gap scheme plays. Counter, power, insert, trucks, GT, whatever. They were pretty good at it. And all they did against Florida was run counter, almost every play and GT, and Florida boxed it the whole time and didn't try.

I don't remember seeing Florida try and spill it once, Coach. because that's not hard. Our audience knows that. I went over that for three minutes on Monday. But how shocked do you that LSU hasn't been running more Gap Scheme? Because they have better film than any of us. And how shocked do you that Florida didn't try and spill it? Well, I think they're still, you know, they're young up front.

They're learning their guys. You know, I guess they're getting to learn it for the last time. But, you know, those guys get. But Gats scheme wise, you're going to see counter because, you know, Olech runs an odd front. Okay. And, you know, there was this move to NSE. I don't know four or five years ago now that where nobody used to be odd everybody used to be you know even front and then everybody goes to odd and so you're starting to see a mean everybody runs counter or some version of it or some kind of inside zone is tough to run against odd front it just is very especially if you got a nose it's a dog yeah the way you teach the running backs to insert I mean it it can be difficult to be hairy unless you got a veteran running back and so anyway the counter scheme you're going to see a ton of that I think you're going to see it mixed up a little bit you know you saw

last week it was we used to call it uh cat which was which was you know center i mean excuse me guard and tackle both you know we bring we always call counters bringing two to the park right yep and so whether it's guard guard and tackle or garden tight in or whoever out of 11 personnel um and so i think you're gonna see some mixture of that and some rpoes off of it and you know what i would i would really like to see in this you know i think there's some things that oklahoma uses to attack it is they'll actually arc release the tackle and then read that four technique that four eye And I'd like to see some guys do that to the odd front. For sure.

And it's so funny how cyclical and how much of a copycat league football is. It'll always be that way. We'll probably look up 30 years and everybody will be run the triple option and Navy will be running empty. That's just how football is and how it works. I don't know about that. They better find some linemen out there. They're not going to be able to do it.

Quit. I can stay in front of somebody. But all right, last question for you. And me and you've talked a lot about Georgia, how talented they are. Alabama, how talented they are. When you look at Cincinnati, and I think Cincinnati would beat the 2017 UCF team, I really do think that. When I watch them, I think they're more developed up front. I think they have more depth.

And I know they're going to the Big 12 and they're going to be the Power 5. But do you see any world in where a Cincinnati could compete and possibly beat a Georgia or in Alabama this year if they met up either in the playoffs, semifinal, or the national championship? I mean, yes is the short answer. I mean, at the end of the day, he's got to understand that, I mean, I know this for a fact. There's coaches on both those staffs that I know they don't want to play Cincinnati. I mean, no. Oh, yeah, it's lose-lose. It's lose-lose.

But anybody can beat anybody one time, and they are talented enough schematically and have enough different things, and you have a long time to prepare for those games. And look, Luke Fickle is a ball coach now, and he can scheme you up with the best of them. So, yeah, I mean, I think it's a scary matchup because it's lose-lose. You know, I think you worry about your players. Oh, we'll get to the college football playoffs. We'll get to play Cincinnati. You know, I think it's going to be a tough game,

whether it happens. I'd be interested to see what the line are. The line is on those games. It'd be interesting. I bet I would be willing to bet you with Georgia. It starts out at 13 and a half. I'd be one to bet it starts probably higher. We met probably higher.

But, you know, Ritter too, man, having a quarterback. They got the recipe. Now, we'll say this, too. I want to throw this out there, too. Another thing that nobody's talking about is when Cincinnati and Memphis and Central Florida and those teams get into the New Year 6 bowl games, it's their Super Bowl, man. It is the biggest game in the history of the program, right? And a lot of times the teams that they're playing are pissed off that they're in the New Year 6 day and not in the playoff.

Okay, we went through that at Alabama. Probably the best football team that I've ever been a part of period was the first year I was in Alabama when we lost the kick six game. Best football team without a question, not even close. And it was just, but the kids didn't want to be there. They were like, it was the first game that they'd ever played that didn't mean anything. Well, now the playoffs are going to mean something. All right, now it's going to mean something. So I think you're going to see a little bit better attention to detail. And I think you'll see those teams probably play a little bit better even though they don't want to play them. Yeah. Great points, as always. Coach Siski,

Look, we said Florida, what do we say? Florida week. Florida week. Is it deadline week? I think you're going to, here's the thing with that. If he's good enough to play, start him and see how he does. I don't think it's something where you let Stetson go out there for the first half and all of a sudden you're up 21 to 3 or 24 to 7 and then you bring JT. You need to see if JT can do it off the rip. If he's the guy and he's the dude and this thing, y'all know how I feel about this situation.

This might be Stetson's team, boys. I'm telling you, man. I got grilled for that stuff early. This might be Stetson's team. Watch the way it changes. A lot of Georgia fans, 90% of Georgia fans, and I may be over-estimating here, 90% of Georgia fans will say that JT needs to be the starter. Let him start against Florida and let them not score in the first quarter and then watch what everybody's saying. There'll be more calls for Stets.

Stetson Bennett than you've ever seen before in your life. You'd think he was running for Senate. Stetson Bennett running for Senate. See what I like, Dr. Seuss over here. But I'm serious. If he's not, what if Stetson, what if he doesn't play against Florida? And Stetson, they go out there and beat him 48 to 7. I don't know how you can look around and be like,

well, let's just bring him in for the SEC championship. Because if it screws up there, uh-oh. I'm just, this is going to get, if he's ready to go, and you have a bye week this week and you're saying he's the guy and he's the guy that's going to come in and do it and he comes in and starts against Florida and if he comes in and does good it's a moot point

smooth point but if he comes in and struggles or throws a pick or isn't able to move around very well and's taking sacks they'll be screaming for stets and they're going to do that every game from this point if JT comes in and if he if he does great this game even the SEC championship game he has a back

had first half. What are they going to be doing? Oh, it's screaming for Setson. But it's the what. It comes back to the one. We always talk about it's a great problem to have. Well, okay, but what if you start, what if you start J.T. Daniels, right, against Florida, he goes out there and gets re-injured, okay? What does that tell Stetson Bennett? Well, we tried to start the guy over you.

Well, if I'm Stets and Bennett, I'm looking around and I'm like, man, look, I know it was kind of a series of unfortunate events that got me up here, but we're balling. Yeah. Like we're, if I'm a receiver, and again, JT. someone at practice and I get that. If I'm just a Georgia player right now, it's all going good. It's all going great. And you never want to cause distractions.

But you got to know. If you're Kirby, you got to know. Because he's seeing the practice tape. They know if he's ready or not. You know, Todd Munkin knows if he's ready. The question is not, you know, will he be ready eventually? I think he will. It's not like this guy lit up Georgia or lit up Clemson in the opener.

And I get it. I think he was hurt there. But my thing is, what happens? You want to see a 90% flip on its head after 15 minutes? Watch if JT goes out there and starts against Florida, and it doesn't go good. Or if he throws a pick on the first drive, you'll have. Stetson Bennett will be the most popular human being inside of the state lines of Georgia. And one of these, like, nah, transfer portal.

Transfer portal, I'm transferring. Can you imagine that? Now you're having to convince Stetson Bennett and Ladd McConkey's nervous over there, you know? But it's a fascinating situation. And if he's, here's the thing. If he's good to go, if we're saying, all right, JT, you're good to go, go get him, buddy. You got to start him then. You got to start them because you got to know.

You got to know. You can't send him out there in garbage time if there's garbage time and really know. You can't because you've got to see him out there with the ones, with the first group, operating against their first group in a big game. Don't let them come out and them go three and out twice. Watch what happens. We got another one? Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen, but you never know.

Yeah, a question here from Grant Brown. What would the score have been if, and UGA Clemson, if Stetson started and played. It's a valid question, man. I say George at least scores a touchdown.

This is better than what they did. So it would have been 17-3, right? Yeah, I said they at least scored a touch. Why, why you're shaking your head? What makes you think that? Because JT played in the game? So what makes you think they had to score a touchdown in Stetson? Because Stetson can run? And other people have been scoring against Clemson. Well, that's the first game. And Clemsons had a bunch of injuries. And I have the reason that. That's the first game of the year. I answered your question. Stetson can run against JT.

You're not worried about the zone read. You're not worried about the play breaking down and JT running for 20. Stetson Bennett clocked 20 miles per hour. Well, he'd have been running for his life the whole game. Well, he'd have been running at least. I don't think they scored a touchdown. You don't think so? No, I don't think so.

That's crazy. The thing about this is just it blows my mind because the reason Georgia is bidding this good. It's not because of Stetson Bennett. We never said that. Well, then why would he start? Because when J.T. Daniels in the game, they murdered everybody. Murdered everybody. He's getting taken down second quarters.

Did they murder Mississippi State? They were getting taken down second quarters. Did they murder Mississippi State? What was the score? Last year? Go look it up. Mississippi State had like 35 guys out. I'm talking about this year.

I'm not talking about last year. I'm talking about this year. Okay, when did they murder somebody with J.T. Daniels this year? Okay. Let me pull up the schedule. Go ahead, please. Tell you got it. Take your time.

While Blaine's looking that up, let's go to five questions real quick. Because I'm going to let him look it up, realize he's wrong, and then maybe people forget about it. Let's let me know if you want me to mute him until it's wing time. Oh, it's coming. Don't worry. This is coming from a place of upsetedness, even though that's not a word.

That's not a word. Upset is a word. Upset is not. But anyway, let's get to questions. You'll do five questions? Let's do five of them. You think Cincinnati will run it up this weekend? I think they run it up like the check.

I think they, well, look, they really need to. Not that I think they can go in and feed it and be fine, but they need style points. You want that number two seed. You do. You really do, in my opinion. Because if you start getting to four or if it doesn't look good and all of a a sudden, you know, Alabama is something like that and you get to four, then you got to play Georgia first. To me, I think Cincinnati needs style points still, not to make the playoff, but to get the highest

possible seed. And they have, I mean, Cincinnati, and I'm not saying doing anything nefarious or, are, you know, being, you know, for lack of a better term, kind of a douche, but they need to look good as good as possible every week. It keeps Ritter in rhythm. It keeps that team in rhythm. They're kind of used to the routine of not only winning, but now they're separating themselves and winning decently big. You can go back all the way to the Notre Dame game. So yes, I think they do. Not because Luke Fickle is a guy that wants to run it up.

Luke Fickle is a guy that knows he needs to run it up to put them in the best position possible. And what else is the job of a head coach? All right. Number two, can Caleb Williams keep Alabama or keep Oklahoma rolling? Yes, I think he does, but eventually they're going to hit a speed bump and that defense is going to have to win them a game. It's going to come down to it in the regular season. And Caleb Williams, he's the best option.

We talk to Jason Cursey, who covers the, covers the, Oklahoma from the athletic yesterday. And you can tell that team is reinvigorated. The run game that he brings, I think, opens up the run game for the backs and the offensive line a little bit more. It lets Lincoln be a little more extensive in the play calls when it comes down to the run game and that's going to keep the defense more even, which helps out in the RPOs. It just helps you on so many different levels.

Plus, I think Caleb's got some gamer in him. And he's got some dog in him. But eventually they're going to hit a speed bump. The book is going to get out on him a little bit because the more he plays, the more tendencies you develop. It's like the new pitcher rules. in Major League Baseball. Typically, new pitchers come up early. First couple starts, they look immaculate because the book may be out a little bit on them, but you haven't seen them.

Once these guys can actually see them, then you can adjust to them, and it's a matter of time. So we'll see if Caleb Williams has a counter to the counter that defenses will be giving him, because here's what's going to happen. They're going to say, all right, Caleb Williams, we know you're really athletic. You're hurting a lot of people by extending plays. You're hurting a lot of people with a quarterback run game. You're hurting a lot of people with RPO's. Can you beat me from the pocket as a passer? Somebody's going to make him do that. We're going to find out they're not going to score 55 points every game, but it's going to come down to Alex Grinch in that defense,

and I know they're getting some guys back, being able to get a couple stops in crunch time for them to survive the regular season undefeated. I really believe that. You think Baylor has the best chance to beat them right now? Man, you know, I look at that Oklahoma State game at the end, and I know they've dominated that robbery, but Oklahoma State just makes it ugly.

I mean, Mike Gundy's got a mullet. I mean, it's just a situation where Oklahoma State believes, too. Now, I think they'll be in a fight. Baylor and Dave Miranda, we know Dave Iranda is a very smart, defensive mind. He'll have a great plan for Caleb Williams. The question is the personnel at Baylor, will they be able to maintain in the second half when the depth starts to hit you? And if it is a high-scoring game, will Baylor be able to keep up with that? It's great question. You gave us a little hit on this one, okay? Can Oregon survive UCLA? I think they can. But the more I watch Oregon,

and Eric, I hate to hurt your feelings, I don't see this as a dangerous team right now, but I don't see UCLA as a dangerous team. I think the PAC 12 overall doesn't have an elite team. You know, losing C.J. Verdell was huge just because he gives you that home run threat. He gives you the ability to run inside and outside. He's devastating in the passing game. And while all your eyes are on him, the quarterback's mobility is huge. Other guys aren't getting as much pressure on them to make plays, not only schematic pressure against them. But now, if you're looking at Oregon, you can really take away what they do best.

And I know the backup's done decent out there, but I do think Oregon, and I think it's because the defense. I feel like they get a couple pick sixes against Doreen out there, the quarterback at UCLA. And I think Oregon survives. All right. Number four, which Big Ten team is overrated? And I'm looking at really the top ones that we're talking about right now. So Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State. Not to everyone, just the top tier.

Iowa, to me, I don't think you can call them overrated because we knew what they were. It was just a matter of when they were going to lose, not if with the way they that they operated, it just happened to be Purdue's number. But if I had to pick one of these teams right now, and I love Mel Tucker, but it's got to be Michigan State, who have you beaten? And you can look at Michigan and make a case for that, but Michigan State, who have you beat? Miami?

Not very good. With a healthy D'ERick King, not very good. I mean, who else, really? I mean, you didn't look super against Rutgers. You know, and I look at this team, and Kenneth Walker is a dog. But you take him away, and there's nothing there. It's an illusion. Allusions, father.

Not magic tricks, illusions. They're going to be sought on defense. Mel Tucker is a heck of a coach. But I think the, not the circus, but the carousel ride ends for Michigan State over here the next couple weeks. I think they could legitimately drop three of their next four. Well, Michigan's coming to tell next week, and I'll tell you what, there's not a Wolverine in the country that's excited about going into East Lansing with a Mel Tucker. coach team. That is just going to be like, we're going to know a lot more soon. Two, two guys just brawling it out in a back alley. It's not like one of the, like when the Diaz brothers fight.

It's not going to be pretty. It's like, how many times can you get hit in the face? It's like literally just win by one and get out of town. You know, like that's a victory. I don't think it's going to be high scoring. No, it'll be ugly. It's going to be ugly and physical. All right. All right. Last one here. Number five is Auburn a legit SEC West contender? Man, I think you got to say yes. You look at the schedule. You get it. You get it. at Ole Miss at home coming off a buy. A beat up Ole Miss team. You don't just get healthier by playing on Saturdays, especially against an LSU team. It's just going to be running around there trying to smoke, guys.

But I look at Auburn, and if the wide receivers can continue to just be good enough, just be good enough. Catch the balls you need to catch. Bo Nicks is on a heater right now. He is. He's kind of in his bag a little bit. He's found the rhythm. Mike Bobo's done a really good job there. The offensive line, we know they're not dominant, but the run game, the wide receivers and the run game just have to be good enough. Because if it is good enough, Auburn will have a chance in every game they play left on their schedule. And if they were able to get through Ole Miss and then at A&M, which is a big chore, a big chore with the way A&M's had success running the ball lately, that game against Alabama at home in the Iron Bowl could be worth the SEC West.

And weird, weird stuff happens at that place when stuff like that is on the line and Alabama's coming to town. I mean, some real hocus pocus, stranger things. I swear 11 was at the kick six game. Nobody just saw her. I swear. Don't let it be a full moon. Don't let it be a full moon or a blood moon. Oh, man, if it's a blood moon, you might as well just load the bank up on Auburn.

But now, look, I think they are, but we'll know after the next two weeks. And you've got to recreate the performance that you had against Arkansas if you're a wide receiver. I didn't think the offensive line was super against Arkansas in the run game. They weren't blowing them off the ball or anything. I don't think Auburn has that ability, but the wide receivers were able to not only catch the ball, but they were fitting in zones that they should have. All right. Five questions there. All right, let's get to Jamari Sawyer, Georgia offensive lineman, as we prepare for our bets and Blaine to engulf himself in the flames.

All right, we are joined by Georgia offensive lineman coming off another victory, big one at home against the Kentucky Wildcats. Mr. Jamari Sawyer, Jamari, as usual, it's always good to talk to you, my friend. Yes, sir. Same here. I look forward to it. Hey, for sure, man. This is one of the best parts of our week. And, you know, Jamarie, I want to hop right into it. And this is something I've said on the show repeatedly. I mean, going across, you know, the past couple weeks and really since after the first week of the season, you guys seem to still be winning games.

And you always want to win regardless of how it happens. But you're winning games y'all's way. You're grinding people out. You're pushing people around. You're controlling the line of scrimmage. And Kentucky is a very physical team. But can you talk about just going to the well again and winning it the way you guys are going out there trying to win it? It has to be a confidence boost for everybody all around.

Yeah, we kind of knew going into the game that it would be a physical game. I mean, we knew that they were their stout up right on the ball. The program is very similar to the hours and within and being able to run the ball and stop the run. So we knew that we had to try to out-execute them and that beat them at what they do best. and we were looking forward to it. We had the home field advantage, and we were excited about being able to go and compete against them and try to do what we do best against them,

which is kind of similar to what they do best. So we were excited about that opportunity, and we took it as a challenge. For sure, and again, it was really what looks like a battle for the East. You in Kentucky have kind of separated y'all's selves. And Jammari, too, when you look at the way the game flowed, you know, you guys mix up the runs, not a ton of tendencies.

But when I'm watching you guys, it seems to me fundamentally up front in the offensive line, you guys continue to get better and better, whether it's comboing up to the next level, whether it's getting the right depth when you're pulling. Can you just talk about just correcting the little things, the alignment things, and the timing things that keep making you all more effective, especially as the game goes on. You guys really don't lose technique. For sure.

I just think, like, you know, Coach Monkin and Coach Lou talk about it all the time. It's just every football play starts with alignment and assignment, no matter if you play offense, defense, special teams, like it starts with an alignment and an assignment and understanding what you're doing and how you're supposed to get it done and what's the reason for doing it. You know, you understand a player, or if you understand, oh, I'm supposed to use this technique,

but you don't understand why you're doing it or what the point of it is for the plate and it makes it, like it makes it pointless. And we try to emphasize on offense, like limiting wasted plays. Yes. Because we have talent, we have good players, but if you go around and you waste three or four drives and you play against a team like Kentucky that runs the ball and we run the ball, you only get maybe, maybe 10 drives, maybe.

And that's, you waste four of them. You waste four opportunities to score points and that's not good against a team that executes like they did. So we made a really big emphasis this week to get our assignments and alignments right and just being on the same page. Yeah, and there's so many little things that people don't go in and see the tips and reminders right before the game that you guys are going over and the little kind of, I call them,

cheat codes by alignment that you're getting because you know at this point in the season jimari just like you know everybody does have tendencies but you start getting later and later in the season you really start to see some glaring ones from defenses can you talk about just i know your preparation is always you know unique to the team you're playing and you guys really you know dive down into it but is it almost easier to prepare the later it goes in the season because you have a bigger sample size from a front seven uh situation and blitz situation being able to see a season's worth of work that's got to help you guys prepare like it does everybody? I think it gives us a chance.

I think it gives us a chance. I think, you know, obviously there's going to be a difference, you know, preparing for Kentucky as opposed to preparing for Clemson because, you know, a lot of teams have different personnel going into new seasons and they have different players, so they change up their defense or they might not run the same way so they might have a new coordinator or whatever, things like that happens. So preparing in the beginning of the season is a lot more different as opposed to preparing for like a team who's had that coordinator who's been there, maybe.

three or four years or seven games and now we've got some stuff to look at. So I think, but it's also tricky too because, you know, a lot of teams, you know, maybe after a while week, they may have tendency breaker plays. You know, they may bring up with some other side. They may not. Yeah, they might bring, like you said, self-scouting and line up in the same front, but bring a different blitz. So, you know, it's interesting to see how that shakes down the game,

but that's all about going to the sile lot and just adjusting when it happens. But, yeah, I think it's definitely easy to prepare in the middle of the season or towards the end as opposed to the beginning. For sure. You're a football purist like me. You're a football junkie like me, and you've kept up with college football your whole life. And taking you guys out of the picture, because, you know, in my opinion, and I know you're humble and not going to say it. But you guys, to me, have proven yourself to be the best team of the country.

I think there's a gap in between you guys and everybody else. But you look around the rest of the country, Jamari, the parody in college football is at an all-time high, whether it's super seniors coming back. As a guy that loves the game and appreciates the game, you've got to enjoy watching it when you get a chance to because we haven't seen this in a while. I do. And, you know, we found out fast last year. We saw Cincinnati in the Beach Bowl. So we just like, whoa, like, okay. Like the bear cats began to play. Like, you know, so we had to strap it up and go compete. You know what I mean? So we understood that from last year. And, you know, you know, every coach says, you know, take every opponent the same. Like, don't take them off lightly or whatever like that. But, you know, everybody's the whole Cincinnati's doing this or the Iowa team's doing this, whatever, whatever. Like, like those teams, like, we kind of understood it. Like, like, okay, like college football, at least side. Whoa,

college football is changing, you know what I mean? And I'm happy to see that happen, you know, it's kind of gets born, seeing the same teams be good all the time. And it makes it interesting for us that we get to compete against a team

that might be from the American conference or a team that might be from, you know, a pack 12. Some conference has been, you know, a little lesser. So I'm excited to be able to have the chance to compete against those teams,

hopefully in the future, you know, with our team doing as well as it is. I'm excited about an opportunity to play those team. Definitely. And it's just good for the game. And at the end of the day, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

It's good for everybody, players, coaches, fans, trainers, everybody. All right, Jamari, I do before I get out of here, you know, people and fans, and they should, they look at the biweek and say, oh, it's a bi week, you know, I'm just going to focus on, you know, other teams. It's not that important. The buy week is huge, especially for you guys coming off some of the injuries that you have had, getting guys back. But just in general, giving your body a chance, you know, practice structured a little bit

different as you get toward the end of the. weekend. What does the by week mean to you? You're an older guy. You understand the importance of it. B.Y.E isn't just no team. It's actually your team. It's getting your team back. I know for us, we focus on getting better during the bi week. A lot of people take that a lot of different ways. But for us, we go after, we get after it. You know, for me, personally being an older guy, just making sure I stay healthy using it as a chance to get healthy, get my legs back, to spend a lot of time, more time in the training room because we'll probably have

like maybe shorter meetings or maybe a shorter practice or something like that and I have a better chance to get my legs back. So just taking advantage of the opportunities. I think that is kind of the main thing, whether it's for a younger guy who might get more reps this week because we're not prepared for a team or you might be prepared for multiple teams. So it may give me

a look forward and weeks ahead just into teams we may potentially play and may getting able to practice those schemes and stuff like that. So, I mean, the Bawi can be a lot of different things. And it's just all about season the opportunity being able to go out there and just compete. And sometimes it's just pure, you know, UGA 1-0 versus 1D. Yeah. Let's get fundamental.

Yeah. Let's put out of us on see who's going to compete. So that's an exciting part of you, too. You don't really get that on a week-to-week basis like you would in, like, fall camp. So I love bi-weeks because it gives everybody a chance to get healthy, we get bodies back. But it gives everybody a chance to get better and seize opportunities, especially for young players. Like young players love the bi-week. So I'm excited to see those guys compete this weekend. I'm excited to get better myself. Definitely.

And the coolest part of the by-week, I don't care what anybody says, is you actually get to watch other games on Saturday. You actually get to watch the full slate, all the buddies. The teammates come over, got some food, you know, and watching the games. That's always fun. But Jamari, I appreciate your brother. As usual, congrats on the success, man.
