Great guests. When to start out in the monologue, I'm going to talk about the gap between George and Alabama.

Because there is one. Okay, there is one. And Alabama fans, I need you to understand what I'm saying. And most of you do. But for the ones that don't, we're going to dive in, get the pencils and paper out. We're going to figure it out. We're also going to talk about James Franklin. did he have a Freudian slip a little bit this past week?

It smells like the West Coast. We're going to talk about that. Aaron Murray, former Georgia quarterback's going to hop on. Talk about the quarterback's SEC National a little bit. We talk Bryce Young. He gives us his thoughts on the Stetson Bennett, J.T. Daniel, situation. I couldn't agree with him more. Bow Nix.

We go around the room and kind of talk about some guys that have stood out. We're going to play fill in the gap. One of our favorite games we play weekly here. Then Jeffrey Lee, we told your recruiting's coming back. We had Rusty Mansell talking some Georgia recruiting. yesterday. Jaheim Singletary. There's some more guys out there, smoke buoy, but we're going to get Jeffrey Lee to come on,

talk about Auburn where they are in a recruiting standpoint right now. They've got some momentum, looking to close the deal on a few more big time guys, including a wide receiver, a position of need for Auburn the offensive line as well. Then we're going to talk a little Auburn Ole Miss. And then Jalen Wattemire is going to join us, the tied in from Texas A&M.

They've really turned it around. And he has a great message that they were giving to the young guys while it was going bad. It's easy to lead when it's going good. It's hard to lead when you're coming off a loss to Mississippi State with all the accolades you got before the season. But you really need to listen to how Jalen Watermeyer and them turned it around. He's one of my favorite interviews. And of course, we're going to go to the booster club.

And if you don't know what the booster club is, welcome to life in 2021. It's the greatest grassroots movement. People have said since democracy. I don't know they're throwing that out there. I mean, the greatest grassroots movement. Certainly since front lawns were established. The fire was a big deal. Front lawns were a big deal.

deal. The booster club, possibly the biggest deal. And that is, I see what you did. I see what you did. But I want to start with the gap between Alabama and Georgia. And I want to make myself very clear on this. And I need y'all to look at me. If you're watching us on video, if you're on audio, open up your ears, drink it in. It always goes down smooth. The gap between UGA and Alabama exists and it exists in a few places. To me, when you look up, front, offensive line and defensive line. To me, there is a gap between Georgia and Alabama. You look at Alabama's inside linebacker's situation. I believe that Georgia's offensive line will have success running the ball against Alabama. And I talked about this and heard somebody and watched a few people on social media say, well, you know, Alabama's like the sixth best

rushing defense in the country and this, that or the other. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that Alabama is bad in general against the run. What I am saying is when it comes down to it, where Alabama is judged and that's championships, whether it's SEC, whether it's NCAA, it doesn't matter. When it comes down to it and it's them in Georgia, which those are the two best teams in the country, in my opinion, you can make a case for Ohio State.

I don't think Brandon Walker's too far off base, but he's far enough for me to tag him out. when you look at it total in total Alabama's not as dominant against the run as we've seen in the past Georgia's game is the run game there is a gap there and when it comes down to Alabama playing Georgia or Alabama winning a championship it's not that Alabama's going to give up 350 rushing yards they're not Missouri that's not what I'm saying Texas A&M barely ran for 100 yards I believe against them but it was enough where when A&M needed to get third in They could line up and run a base run to get third and two.

You can line up on third and three and third and four and be able to run to get it. You can run on first down and it's not like when you're playing Georgia and you run it on first down and you're in second and 11 consistently. You can get into second and seven and second and six against Alabama. And when you get into what we call winning time, when it comes down to the margin for errors that are so small when you get to this level of elite teams, that can be the difference. Because if you have the capability to run, you have the capability to be balanced. You have the capability to keep a defense honest.

And that's all that Georgia needs, especially with the defense that they have. Now on the flip side, Alabama's offense has been really good. They have. They're scoring a lot of points. They scored 38 points in a game. they lost, but they are having some problems protecting Bryce Young as of late. And look at what is waiting on the other side at Georgia. NFL pass rushers from one side of the line of scrimmage to the other. And once again, in a game that is decided by a margin that is

this big, if you cannot protect the quarterback and they can run it when they have to against you, that is a recipe to be vulnerable. And that to me, is where the gap is. And in a game that is won and lost up front, which if you don't think football is won and lost up front, I don't care what type of system you're running, if it's air raid, if it's triple option, if it's pro-style, if it's west coast,

if it's east coast, if it's north coast, if it's south coast, if you've invented one that I don't even know exists yet. You're wrong. That's where the game is won and lost. Alabama has dogs outside. Mechie, dog. Jameson Williams, dog.

Latu is a really good type. Billingsley, I know he had a bad game last game. He's a really good player. They have a ton of backs that are capable. Brian Robinson, dog. Alabama is a very, very good football team. But they are the second best team. And the gap between Alabama and Georgia is up front.

And that's all I need to know. I'm not saying it's a mile wide. I think the gap between Georgia and Alabama and Ohio State is big, but not nearly the size of the gap between Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and everybody else right now. So before Alabama fans get all upset and this, that, and the other, and I hear, well, Georgia can't get over the Alabama hump, and they've still got to prove it.

If you are watching college football this year, and you have watched Alabama and you have watched Georgia, consistently. You have to see that. I was driving on my way to work this morning in this beautiful palace that they call the College Football Hall of Fame with more helmets than Leonidas's army to my left. I was trying to think how you could watch these games and not come to that conclusion. And you get to see similar opponents this weekend. Georgia gets to play Florida. Florida has already played Alabama. And when Georgia plays Alabama, if they do play Alabama, both of these teams will get up and will have to play in an elite level. And they know that. There will be a championship on

the line. And the margin is this thin. And the gap is really this thin. But the gap is at a place where if you're Georgia, you have to feel as good about winning it as you ever had. They still have to do it. They've got to finish the regular season. They've got to perform in the SEC championship game and then win two games in the playoff. But there is a gap between Alabama and Georgia and it's on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. And that is where the game is won and lost.

And it will always be won and lost. Now I want to get to James Franklin before we get Aaron Marine here and hop in the booster club. And it's always interesting following coaching searches. But I'm going to tell you right now, from what I have seen and what I am hearing, I think James Franklin is going to be the next head coach at the University of Southern California. If you look at a press conference, he just did.

I'm quoting him. They play Ohio State this weekend, right guys? Yes, they do. Blaine, they play Ohio State? Believe so, yes. Well, that's what the schedule says. That's what the schedule says. James Franklin was asked about it,

and he said, you know, they're just focused on Illinois this week. What? In the big house. Do you mean the team you just played that you lost to in 73 overtimes? And then, and then you can say, all right, Dude messed up, a lot going on, this time and the other. Plain Ohio State, right? That's what the schedule says.

Is what the schedule says? So what I make sure I'm right. So then he says, yeah, I believe, you know, they're excited to play in the big house. Now, I don't consider myself a man of super high stature. I don't consider myself a Rhodes Scholar. I don't consider myself an Einstein, a Ben Franklin or an Elon Musk. But I know this. What do you know?

Ohio State's called the horseshoe. Michigan is called the big house. So you screw up who you're playing this week, which is tough to do when you watch as much film as these guys have. It's tough to do. Then you compound it by saying, we're going to play in the big house. Well, if you show up in the big house Saturday,

there's going to be nobody there because they're going to play Michigan State. So what I think, and again, it's an easy conclusion to draw. It's an easy conclusion to draw. But to me, it was somewhat of a slip. You say, what do you mean, Jake? What do you mean to slip? He just messed up? Yeah.

But it really makes me feel like you made the decision during Illinois week that you're gone. It really, to me, to me was a Freudian slip. And you could say I'm looking too much into it. I'm diving too far. I might as well go try and find D.B. Cooper. I could find him. But when you look at that in this certain time, man, Cohn, I feel like he's gone. You can't twice. You screw it up twice.

You screw it. Not once. Not once. I think he's out of there. I think he's out. I think he's gone. And I think losing to Illinois pushes him out the door even more. Most people on the couple think, no, no, well now it's not as sexy of a name. You think USC's not going to hire James Franklin because they lost to Illinois at Penn State? That's not how it works. And we make a big deal of, all right, well, they're going to be judged over the next three to four weeks. Yeah, but is that really smart? Is that really the best way you would go about it when you're looking at the full picture, this Mel Tucker and been at Michigan State very long. The fact that he's gotten in this point and you followed his career and you see where he's been,

to me outweighs what happens the next three or four weeks. We fall into that trap. To me, how many Penn State fans after they lost Illinois was like, you know what, if I can get out here. Get out. That has a lot more weight than people think, oh, we lost to Illinois. I guess he's going to stay now. Because if I'm USC, just like with Lane, that price is going up, right?

If you're USC, can you not look at that and say, listen, Coach Franklin, we want you bad. And here's the number. They beat Illinois, the number may change. May have been a little bit different. But that is a very interesting slip to me, timing-wise. This is the type of collateral damage that comes about when you make, when big programs make mid-season moves like that. Because when it happens in December, you only have like two weeks. This stuff gets crushed under the rug behind bowl games and championships.

When big programs make mid-season moves, there are months and months of this kind of stuff. And that's what we talked about. That's what we talked about? And if you're James Franklin, what are you not going to answer the phone call from Southern Cal? But at the same time, he's the coach at a highest caliber level. He's focused on this season. It's hard to do both, you know? It's almost impossible.

Look, it's almost impossible. The amount of time these guys put in during the regular season, it's almost impossible. But just haven't been there, it's really hard for you to accidentally say, we're focused on Illinois. You can't make this mistake, especially when your message is that you're focused on it. You can't, you can't do that. To me, it was a little bit Freudian, and I really think James Franklin's going to be the next head coach at USC. I wouldn't, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, get out while they're getting good. It's not LSU. You know, it's not LSU. Because it's not, first of all, you slipped out, that, that's fine, but you weren't even focused on Illinois at all.

That's the funny part. Obviously, you're focused on something else, but it's not, if you're James Franklin, It's not getting any easier at this point. So right now, if I'm getting a call, I'm taking that call because that USC job is looking mighty fine. And the problem is it's not like you can take it right now. It's not like James Strang can be like, all right, I'm taking the USC job, and Wednesday I'm driving up there and then we're going to play, I don't know, Oregon. That's just not how it works, especially when you're in contention. But can you imagine, I'm looking at that Penn State, Ohio State spread.

And the way Ohio State, it was it? 17 and a half, I think, the last time I saw it. Start out at 18 and a half. Man, when you say stuff like that, it makes me want to pull the trigger on Ohio State. Big. And then the way things have been going in college football this season, it makes me think now's the best time to take Penn State and the points. Well, look, that is the rabbit hole you get down when you start making picks. But no, I think James Franklin is going to USC.

But after we get to Aaron Murray, I'm going to get to the booster club and I want their thoughts on it. Conner, are we good to make that transition now? You're ready to get it? You want Aaron Murray? Let's go Aaron Murray. Then we're going to the booster club. Get their feet chopping Blaine. Get them hot.

We're about to roll here. We'll see what Aaron has to say. Let's see what A.A. Ron has to say. All right, everybody, very excited to be joined by a guy that played it at a very high level, the highest level. You can find him now on CBS Sports Network. He's all over. He's calling games. Just got done calling the Auburn Arkansas game recently.

That's former Georgia standout quarterback. Aaron Murray. You know, I was going to say A-A-A-Ron, but that's so played out, man. I just appreciate you joining us. I'm happy to be on, and I appreciate that because, yes, it is played out way too much. I go to the airport, and it's like, oh, can A-A-A-A-Ron come to the front desk for a seat assignment chain? I'm like, come on, man. It's been like 10 years.

Yeah, we got to move on. Well, it's the same people when I tell him my name's Jake. They're like, oh, like from State Farm. And every time I'm like, that's the first time I've ever heard that. And they're like, really? And I'm like, no. That happens every single time. My parents had no creativity with names.

They picked like the third name ever invented in the Bible. Like they had no creativity. I mean, I was the first name every time you open up a children's name box. That's true. At least you weren't the double A. Yeah, they went down. The middle child syndrome, right? That's completely overlooked.

That's exactly right. That's exactly right. But Aaron, you know, and I want to talk about quarterback starting out. You know, it's been an interesting year because defense is actually out of spring, had somewhat of a normal summer and then pretty much a normal fall camp. And I want to stick in the SEC here and mention a few guys. Have to obviously start with Stetson Bennett, you know, a situation where J.T. Daniels has the oblique lap, whatever you want to call it. Just talk about Stetson stepping up and doing what he really is doing more than what people expected out of him and what he's done in that role.

Well, speaking at airports is kind of crazy. I was flying back in last week. And lo and behold, I hear Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. I turn around at Stetson. Setson was flying out to go visit his brother during the biweek. Nice. So, you know, him and I started chatting a little bit. And, you know, I was like, how's it going?

How's biweek? How you feeling? And he's like, man, I just feel so much better year two in the system. I mean, it makes sense. I mean, year one, any system, no spring. I mean, I think fall camp, he wasn't the starter. You know, I told people all the time. Like, I went to a scrimmage in, was it, August, in the stadium, just to see what the team looks like.

And, you know, all these other quarterbacks are getting around. And then when the starters went into halftime, they did like a simulated half time. Stetson stayed out and took the reps with the walk-ons and the freshmen. And that's the only reps he got the entire scrimmage. That's so long. You know, fast forward. All of a sudden, he's now the starting quarterback playing the season without really getting any reps. No spring, no summer and barely got any reps in fall camp.

And everyone's like judging him so hard. Like, man, he's missing guys. He's this. He's that. You know, he can't win us the championship. Like, he's that he is, he has won more games as a starting quarterback. with the least amount of reps, a starting quarterback needs to go out there and have success. And I think it's absolutely amazing.

And you're seeing now the success year two for him, the comfort level. The biggest thing last year was just the inaccuracy down the field. I mean, he was inaccurate down the field. I think a lot of it has to do with being scared to make a mistake. When you're overthrowing balls, you're more worried about making a mistake than you are completing the passes. You're not seeing that this year. He's completing it down the field. He's running the ball well.

man dude I think that he's done everything that he needs to do he's done everything that team needs him to do I ain't taking the ball of his hands I'm going to tell you that right now I am not taking the ball and Setson's hands man that's a perfect segue Aaron I've been saying it you know I caught hell from from Georgia fans for saying it but to me I'm from the school of it I hate for a guy to lose a job because he got hurt but again I also hate to fix something that's not broken and to me the chemistry we have Jemari Sahlia you're on here all the time the chemistry between Stetson and the way that offense has been able to work, even with the injuries and just the consistency moving forward and getting better each week. And like you said, not trying to do too much, but, you know, that element of the running game as well as something that Stetson brings that I don't think people really realize, and that's another tool for Todd Munkin. But, you know, I know you said you wouldn't take it out of Stetson's hands.

But at some point, do you have to see JT just to know? Because, I mean, I know coach smarter than them are seeing him in practice, but, you know, you're running out of time. And I don't think you can just roll them out there against BAM or whoever in the SEC championship and take that risk. I just don't. Well, I think you just need to make a decision. You know, the thing that's frustrated me this season is, and it kills me with all teams that do this craft, is when you go back and forth. You know, you saw it, what about a month ago before J.T. was out with the lat injury.

You know, J.T's playing. He's playing well. And all of a sudden, you just throw randomly decide to throw Stetson in on the four series of the game. So I'm in the camp of, I think Stetson should be the guy. and then you have a reliable backup in JT. But if JT is a starter, I feel good. I mean, Georgia's in a good position. You look at the cold right now.

You know, both guys can, I believe, win you a championship. I believe Stetson can win against Alabama. I believe Stetson can win against Ohio State, Oklahoma, whoever the heck they face going forward. And I believe JT can be the same. I mean, this team is just so good all three facets where I just think both those guys, they're, you know, quote-unquote game manager like guys.

They're not going to wow you and throw five, six touchdowns, But they're both very efficient. And obviously Setton does give you the ability to run. My only issue with the quarterbacks for George right now is that of pick a guy, stick with them, and don't flip flop. Just let's ride it out, man. Don't say, okay, Stetson, you're going to get the four series or third series of every quarter. JT, Stetson's the starter.

You'll get every third series. Like, no, man, you're building the chemistry. The receivers are getting healthy. The tight ends are getting healthy with Washington. You're moving in the right direction offensively. this isn't the receiver position. This isn't an offensive line position. This is a running back position.

The quarterback position is different, man. You're the leader of the team. You need one voice in the huddle. You need one voice in the locker room. Pick a guy, stick with it. That's all I'm saying. Just pick one and let's ride with it. Yeah, well, it's like I say, chemistry isn't just a class they teach in high school.

That's a real thing, especially when you get game reps in there. But, Aaron, I want to move on to a couple other guys. You know, you look at Bryce Young, who to me is playing in an unbelievably high level for such a young guy. He's so skilled. You know, I'm lucky enough to take. talk with him every week in the show that we have and just his approach has been very professional and what you would expect as a guy that sat in a quarterback room with Mack Jones and those other guys just for a second speak on Bryce and then I want to get to Bo Necks.

He's the Heisman winner right now. I mean, it's him and Mack Rowl, but Bryce is, is, he does everything right. I mean, his footwork in the pocket. I think he's a very good thrower, quick release, runs the system extremely well. I thought his use of his legs this past weekend finally was. It was like, okay, thank goodness, man, because I think from a young age, I think I forgot who I heard this from, maybe it was in the broadcast, that he's been told his whole life, don't be an athlete, don't be a runner, stick in the pocket, stay in the pocket, stay in the pocket, stay in the pocket, don't be labeled a running quarterback. And I'm like, dude, it's 2021. There's nothing wrong as being labeled a running quarterback. And you look at the guys in the NFL right now making money. So once he gets that out of his head where, hey, I can get outside the pocket and use my legs to get four or five, you know, five plus yards and really keep a defense honest. I think his. game's only going to elevate even more because that's more defense now has to worry about. You know, you watch the film for the first few games.

He's like, okay, the dude gets outside the pocket. Great. But he doesn't run. He just wants to be a passer. Now of a sudden, there is the dynamic of him using his legs. I think that's going to stress the defense out. So he's doing everything right. Right now, he's the favorite in the clubhouse when it comes to the Heisman.

It's really a two-man race. It's him and Matt Corral. But I love what I've seen so far. Speaking of Matt Corral, it's another perfect segue. into a big game this week in Ole Miss going to Auburn, ranked in the top 10. Auburn, you know, surprising a lot of people, excuse me, including myself, that they still control their own destiny this far into the season. You know, you look at this matchup, but I know Ole Miss is beat up.

Ole Miss is as beat up offensively as anybody in the conference. But when you look at this matchup, kind of how do you, what flavor do you think we're going to get? How do you see this going on? Are we in for a shootout? Do you think it's going to be uglier than what people think? Because I think it's going to be uglier than what people think. I think it's going to be a good football game. And are you saying ugly?

Ugly is in more low scoring than what? Because again, to me, the run game for Ole Miss is massive. I mean, with who they have out on the outside. Bill McRale has to run the football. And he's banged up right now. And you can't run him as much as you wanted to, say, two weeks ago and hit almost 200 yards rushing. To me, I love Auburn. I think Auburn right now and all the Georgia fans have been riding me since I called the Georgia Auburn game.

Now saying that, you know, they can take my Georgia card and call me an Auburn fan. And all the Auburn fans, I'm sure, pissed at you too. It's just funny. Which means I call the good game. That's exactly right. That's exactly right. But the development of Bo Nix this season with just his footwork. It's slowed down.

It's more patient. He's letting the plays develop in front of him. And the receivers are doing a lot better. I mean, go back to that Georgia State game. Those receivers were horrendous. And you saw afterwards the receiving coach get fired. And a lot of people want to blame Bo Nix. But, you know, the guys around him weren't getting the job done.

I said receivers weren't being the job done. They weren't getting open. They were running into each other, not very defined routes. You know, Tank Bigsby has been non-existence since the Penn State game. But Boe is getting better. I think the running game with Tank is going to continue to get better because of the passing game and how much better that look for Arkansas. This is a good team.

They got some weapons on offense. As long as Bo Nex continues to progress with his footwork, I think he's going to be fine. And I like what they got on defense. I do. I think their defense is pretty danged out at all three levels. So I'm in the camp of I think Auburn can win this weekend. I think Auburn has a chance to win versus Alabama at the season two. I've seen enough hiccups in Alabama's defense to say they're not bulletproof by any means.

And we know how crazy that game can get. So I think it's a great matchup, but I think Auburn pulls it out versus Ole Miss this weekend. Yeah, and you get Auburn actually getting guys back. It looks like Owen Papo, the inside linebacker who they need desperately in that front seven. And they're both NFL players, him and Zucoby McLean. But all right, Aaron, my last question for you. We're here with Aaron Murray. Just turn on your TV when it comes to college football.

You're going to see him. You can also find him at CBS Sports Network doing a great job analysis, former Georgia quarterback. But your alma mater, Georgia and Florida. And I've said this. I'm going to continue to say it. This is not going to be the same Florida team that showed up against LSU and look like that. They're going to get up for this game. But as I sit here being pushed down by gravity, I feel like Georgia, that G stands for gravity this year,

because they just push on you until the second half, and then by the time you're 75 or the game's over, you realize that you're hunched over and your back doesn't work anymore. Yeah. Well, you know, listen, I think Florida's defense can keep them in for a little bit. Let's not forget versus LSU.

Yeah, the defense wasn't great against the run. But, I mean, they got pushed back multiple times where they're starting in their own territory. I mean, the turnover is four interceptions. You come on the field and LSU has the ball at the 20-yard line. That's not easy sledding for any defense, both physically and mentally, to continue to go out there.

and have to defend a short field. So, you know, they've been better this season, obviously a lot better than they were last year. And I agree they're going to come out there and play hard on that side of football. I just don't think they have it on offense. They really don't. You know, Emery, you know, to me,

I think they've got to go with Anthony Richardson. I think he gives them the best chance, at least somewhat move the football. But this is a running team. This is a team that wants to run the football. And if you want to run the football, George is not the defense you want to face. You know, I was at practice.

I covered the game a couple weeks ago. I mean, they got seven guys up front that are all going to be playing on Sunday. They got a couple backups that are going to be playing on Sunday that they're able to rotate in there as well. So this is the best front seven in college football. There's the best front seven I've ever seen. I mean, they look like the colors already. I agree. I just don't think Florida's going to be able to run it on them.

And you said it by the time the second half comes in, Georgia and they're running backs, their ability to run the football kind of wears on you. I know it's like a 14 point spread right now. I think Georgia's 14. I think they win by somewhere around 20 plus. I think they just take their butt there in the second half. Yeah, I think they're just going to lean on them. And, you know, we have Jamari Sawyer on each week.

And I know they're getting better. But it seems to me the offensive line is starting to adopt the identity of the defense, just the bully in the room. And when they start – Amarius Mims is such a good player. I mean, as a young guy they got up front. And it's funny, you talk about the seven guys that are going to the league. I always laugh because, you know, most of those guys, if not all of them,

not only they're going to be in the league, they're going to be playing. Like, they're going to be starting on NFL teams. It's not like they're on the practice squad. They're going to bring them up every now. And then, I mean, these guys are legitimate stories. Dude, Jordan Davis, I saw him this past week. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.

Aaron, I saw him at SEC Media Days. and, you know, again, I've coached it, been around, seen big guys, but it's different when I think of his change of direction and then how big he actually really is. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if they lined him up out there at Tide-in and he looked good. I mean, you just don't find guys that are that size that are that flexible on their hips and in their ankles.

I mean, we had Jim Nagy on, and he talked about the scouts. Every time they pop the Jordan Davis tape up, everybody sits up a little bit and looks. You know, it's really just entertainment value at that point. Jordan Davis for Heism, man. I'm said it. I'm said it. Because he gets double team, but you tell me, you know, is the award for the guy who is the best stats or is the award for the best player in college football?

And right now, he may be, he's the most disruptive and takes the most attention of any offense in college football. You have to figure out a way to slow him down. He's going to wreck you. And the problem is it's, he deserves to be in New York. I agree. And the problem is you can't just run away from him. He's in the middle. Like he's going to find you.

It's like the redhead off wedding crashes when she tells Vince Vaugh. I'll find you. And he's a little bit bigger than the redhead off there. But Aaron, what are you good looking? I'll say that. Where are you calling one this weekend? Where they got you this weekend? Yeah, I got a good old Fresno State at San Diego State.

I like Fresno, Aaron. Hayner's a witch. He's a witch. Well, they got three good receivers right now. We'll see what the running back looks like he was banged up last week. It's a good game, though. Man, San Diego State's defense is nasty. Nasty.

See, here's what? Here's the way I do this. Okay, and it's hard comparing quarterback. So I think if you put in again, Matt Corral is more seasoned and has more snaps than what Bryce Young has. In my opinion, as a young player, Bryce Young was better than Matt Corral is, was when he was that age. But right now, Matt Corral is a better quarterback than Bryce Young. That's a fair way to break it down. Because, I mean, again, we're not comparing apples to apples.

These guys, it's not, all right, they're both juniors. They've both had a lot of time. or just one's a senior and one's a junior, where you've had enough time for us to really know. So it's a good question, but it's too early for me to say, oh, well, you know, Bryce is better than Matt Corral because he's not overall right now, but I think where Bryce is in his career,

at the same time when Corral was there in his career, that Bryce is the better player. And then you've got to think to yourself, put Matt Corral on Bama. I mean, can you imagine that? It's a problem. It's a problem. It's a legit problem. Right. Speaking about problems, we love to solve them.

who's probably about to win NFL coach of the year? But when I think of Texas Tech, who y'all going, who y'all want? You'll want Sonny Dykes, right? That's who y'all want, because the connection there to the school, and I would be shocked if they would have fired him without knowing for sure that Sunny Dykes would leave SMU to go to Texas Tech. But I don't get where Texas Tech thinks they're at a place where they can fire a guy in the position Matt Wells was in with the wins and losses and the trajectory of the program and all that with the injuries that they've had.

Who you just take Sunny Dax out of the picture. Take him out of the picture. Who are you going to get? Belichick. Tomlin. Yeah, Mike Tomlin. I forgot. I forgot.

I forgot. You heard some. Andy Reid. A guy told a girl that heard from a guy whose dog learned how to talk and told him that Mike Tomlin. They're not asking Andy Reid about that. They're not asking Sean Payton about it. But, I mean, I just don't see where you better be, it better be sunny Dykes. That's my opinion.

It better be sunny Dykes and it better pretty much already be done because if it's not, it's an arrogant move, it's a stupid move, and you fired Cliff Kingsbury. And I just don't think Texas Tech has the juice to be going around firing guys for not doing an elite job early. What's Texas Tech won? What they won? You're not Michael Crabtree.

You're not, Mike. He made that play. You didn't make that play? This is an arrogant move. I didn't like the move. All right. You better get sunny. Wolverine Nation, including myself, wants to know.

Michigan will win, blank more games in the Big Ten this season. Go through the schedule real quick with me. Do you got it right there? Blank, can you pull it up? I just want to make, listen. When I go in for surgery, I've got to be surgical. I want to know where everything is. I want to make sure the lighting's good before I just jump into an approach here

because I know they got Michigan State this weekend. on the road. On the road in East Lansing. All right. I hit me with it. Indiana at home. When? Penn State on the road.

When? I like it. Maryland on the road. When? And then the boys from Ohio come to town. Ross. So I'm going to say, because I think they beat Michigan State. That's 11 and 1.

I think they win four more big 10 games. Gotcha. I mean, I think there's a great shot for me. When I look at Michigan and Michigan State and you look at Penn State, now they got two losses and that lost at Illinois. I still think Michigan is a better football team than Michigan State is. Michigan State is Kenneth Walker and let's play good on defense. I know Michigan's not exactly the globe trotters or it's not like going to see the Jersey

boys where it's just fun and adventurous and everybody's running around and feels great. But they play solid football and they can stretch the field vertically. I think Michigan has a lot more chances to hit big plays than Michigan State does, even with Kenneth Walker. Because if I'm Michigan, I have to. stop Kenneth Walker. I'm not sold on Michigan State's quarterback and his arm strength overall. I'm not. I'm not. Now is Michigan an elite team? I don't think so. Is this going to be the best finish they've had in a long time under a hardball? Yes, and good for him. But why not?

I don't see. If Sean Clifford is not healthy, healthy, then they're in trouble, Penn State is. We saw it last week. We saw it last week. And it's not like it gets better when you're losing. And all this stuff with James Franklin's going on. So I say four more. All right, good. The SEC quarterback you trust the most this weekend is who? You ready for it? Tell me.

Bo Nix. At home. Look, Bo Nix and Jordan Hare. It's like when Superman goes into like his cave from like back home and it just juices his powers up and like makes him a lot more healthier and stuff. But I really feel like Bo Nix is at a point. now and the receivers are at a point now and this offense is at a point now where they're able to maintain the integrity of what Mike Bobo wants to do and you say okay what does that mean I don't think Bo Nix is going to do anything outside of what he has to do at the end of the day and when he's

operating within this offense whether it's under center whether it's in the gun whether it's quick game whether it's play action and the vertical game I really feel like he has a grasp of it And when you have a grasp of it, he talked about when we had him on here Monday, that he can tell when Coach Bobo is in a groove-calling plays. And when he gets in a groove-calling plays, they're simpatico. Against an Ole Miss defense that I think is better. It's not a lot harder to be better than they were last year. But I don't think they're where they need to be.

I think Auburn will have success running the ball, including Bo Nix. And I think it'll be a balanced attack. And that's why I think going against this Ole Miss defense, Bo Nix is the one I trust the most. All right, so Iowa and Wisconsin will combine for how many points? Isn't that over, under, like, 13 in this game? I think it's like 36 and a half. I'm going to say they're going to combine to score.

Man, this smells like a 24. Because Wisconsin looked better on the ground last weekend against Purdue, but you know Iowa's strength is their defense. I'm going to say you get a combined total of 38 points in this game. I think the overhits. I think you get a combined score of, I think this is a 24-14, maybe 27-14 games, so 41 combined. But give me 38. Because I think the over under is 36, something like that.

36 and a half, I believe. Okay, got you. Somewhere around there. Okay. All right. So the last one, the people want to know, the best college football Halloween costume would be? Oh, man. The best college football Halloween costume would have to be a.

golf ball. Just dress up like the yellow neon golf ball that was done at Lane Kiffin. It's all the rage. Why not? What a great answer. Why not? I mean, there's a few. You could look down the list.

You know, you could be the golf ball. You know, Mullen went with the Darth Vader outfit last year. There's a lot of stuff to choose from. You know, go as the golf ball. Get the Syracuse mascot and just spray painted yellow. It's a golf ball. Turn the face around and wear it backwards. There, fixed it. Everybody in New York.

There you go. You got your cultural Halloween costume. I like that question. Y'all really cooked that up in the back end, huh? Blaine? Was that your idea? What? The Halloween costume? Was that your idea? Maybe. Maybe not.

It smells like it was. What's the Boots Club, saying? We got a question here from Eric. If Michigan State beats Michigan and the Michigan beats Ohio State at the Big House, does the Big Ten? Look, if Ohio State loses two games, and I'll continue to say this, Ohio State is the best team in the Big Ten. I think they're trending to be about on par with Alabama right now. And you can say, oh, well, you know, they haven't played anybody and I get that. But they're beating people like 45 to 7 in half time. I mean, they're legitimately up on Indiana, who I know is not world beaters,

but they still have pretty decent players. And Tom Allen's a pretty good coach, especially when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. I mean, they were leading Indiana 44 to 7. So I could see a scenario where the Big Ten doesn't get a team in. I could see that. That's what happens when a bunch of these teams play each other. But to me, Ohio State, as usual, is the bell cow. And I do think they beat Michigan again this year.

I think it's going to be a great game. It may come down to 7 to 10 points, maybe a lot closer than we've seen in the past. But to me, I don't think Ohio State loses another game in the Big Ten. But it would create madness. It would create chaos. And who would love that more than Cincinnati or Kentucky? That's another team. We keep talking about Cone in this playoff that could sneak around and go 11 and 1.

And if you get chaos, you could legitimately have a Kentucky. team in the final four. It could happen. I'm not Angels in the outfielding it out here, but it could happen. I think we could all agree with that. But we should be getting Jeffrey Lee in here in a minute. Yeah, I think the Hall of Fame might have kicked us off their internet here. Oh, no.

Oh, no. Let's do this. Let's improvise. Let's do what we do. Let's go to the booster club. Jeffrey Lee was in here. He was in here. Okay.

But a couple things that, you know, we've talked about during the week that I want to talk about now. You know, when you look at monologues and you look at the main things, the gap between Bama and Georgia, we talk about James Franklin. But when you look at the way Georgia's winning, and I've talked about this on the show a lot. being malleable as a coach, right? Can you be malleable as a head coach?

Well, what does that mean? The game's evolving. Are you able to evolve or keep up with the times? And you've seen this offensive kind of takeover, I guess, you know, whether it's Elaine Kiffens, and I'm not saying air raid or we're just going to throw it around to be crazy, but it's a very offensive-driven sport. We've seen the changes and the evolutions come offensively, not really defensively. And we talked about the Nick Sabin Epiphany, right?

What was that? Well, I'm not going to win games 17. to three anymore. I'm not going to be able to just say, all right, guys, let's be able to run the ball, don't turn it over, let's be good on the punt team, we'll win every game with defense. But if you look at the way Georgia is winning, not that the offense is bad, but it's a very old school style. It isn't really the new wave. And I think that's more of a compliment to just how dominant this Georgia defense is. Because when you look at past defenses and even Alabama's last year, National

Champion Alabama. Gave up 19 points a game, which is not bad at all, but it wasn't like they were the steel curtain on defense. This Georgia defense I think has a case for being one of the best college defenses ever, and I don't think that's a stretch, because they are able to dominate and

win in a new school environment in an old school way. And that's not easy to do. And whether it's the front seven, whether it's the back end, there's not a weakness on this Georgia defense. And offensively, again, it's not terrible. It's not like they're winning.

You know, I know they beat Clemson 10 to 3, but it's not like they're winning games 13 to 3. They're able to put up 30 points. But a lot of that, a lot of that is coming off great field position provided by the defense and a very consolidated run, play action. We're going to run boot. We'll take a couple shots down the field, but we don't have to do anything crazy. So I think the best compliment,

that you can give this Georgia team is that they are winning in a new school environment in an old school way. And you just don't see that a lot. And that, to me, speaks to the dominance of this Georgia team. That, to me, is why Georgia is leaps and bounds better than everybody else in the country. Alabama is about as close as anybody or closer than anybody in Ohio State's catching up. But again, to me, this is more of an anomaly. I don't think we will see a defense dominate like this every year just randomly.

This is a one in an eight, nine, ten year type of defense. It really is. Not only are you talented, not only do you have depth, but you have veteran guys. You have great leadership. You have Jordan Davis coming back. So to me, it's just so interesting as a football purist is a guy. guy that keeps up with the game, keeps up with a sport, to be able to say, okay, you can still win this way, but you have to be uber dominant.

This isn't an accident. And I don't think this is the way that Kirby and Todd Monkin and them envisioned it because you look at the injuries on offense and how they had to play and then realizing, okay, well, we're almost forced to play old school, but we're just lucky enough we're that dominant on defense to be able to win playing old school. So that's one big thing. And then, you know, the sad part to me when it comes down, when you look at a dominant team like Georgia, when you look at the rest of the country and teams that can compete, you start looking out west,

I don't see one. Even Oregon with Verdell, C.J. Verdell Jr., he's out for the season. I don't see a team out there that can come in the final four and beat Georgia or beat Alabama. And then we started having the conversation of, okay, who are the teams? that could actually come in in for one game. It turns into a one-off at the end. For one game, could a team outside of Alabama come in and challenge Georgia and have a chance to beat them?

And that team, to me, it has to be Ohio State. Because everybody else doesn't have the athletes. Ohio State has recruited like a dominant SEC team. You see Clemson. Why have they had success? They've recruited like a dominant. SEC team in a fledgling ACC conference. Ohio State has the dudes.

Now, do they have them in as many positions as Georgia does? No. Are they overall as good as Georgia is? No. Are they capable of beating Georgia in one game in four quarters? Yes. Yes. But what I want to see, what I want to see, is a world in which we have,

and I wanted the 18th playoff. I've talked about that at nauseam. But a 12-team playoff where we can see some of these other matchups, and maybe a team does catch fire that has just enough personnel. But looking around the landscape right now, I just don't see it. I just don't see it. That's why I picked George in the summer, picked him during fall camp, and have taken them to the season.

And I feel as confident now about it as I've ever felt about it. it. And moving forward, if you're looking at the periphery, whether it be the SEC, whether it be another conference on teams that are on the rise, it's not like there's 20 teams out there that can put together the roster or have the recruiting resources that can take on the main four or five teams that we've seen have a ton of success and almost have a monopoly over the sport. You have your Texas A&Ms, we know USC, we know Michigan. You know, I can go through the three or four SEC teams, LSU, Florida. You know, a lot of SEC teams are capable, but around the country outside of that.

Who? I guess you could say Oregon. But it's not all going to happen at once. Hey, you want to run Jamari Sawyer? Yeah, let's run Jamari. Let's talk to Jamari. Let's get Jamari Sawyer from George on here. We're going to get the internet set fix.

Same here. I'm looking forward to it every week. Yeah, and listen, I'm not saying it has anything to do with it, but it's been, you know, good luck coming on here as well. You guys continue coming off a bye week and got a big one against Florida. And, you know, Jamari, you're a guy. You've played in this game. You understand this game.

What does it mean to you that this Georgia Florida? Because, I mean, it's a rivalry. It really is. It is a robbery by history, a robbery by championships. Normally, the team that wins that goes on to win this game normally goes on to play the SEC championship coming out of the east. And a lot of, like, I think it's some crazy staffing we were talking about earlier this week. I think it's the last four times or six or the last seven, something like that. This game, this game is a pretty big game.

Obviously, it's kind of different this year. But, you know, it still means a lot to us, obviously, because it's just a big game. It's a real big game. We're excited to play them. They got a real good team, really talented players. You know, the record, I don't think their record speaks to how talented they actually are. They got really good players. So, yeah, we're excited to play them.

Yeah, and, you know, Jamaria, I talk about this when I get the Alabama guys on as well, where y'all are at right now and where you've established yourself in the upper hierarchy, the top tier of the SEC. I don't think that's out of bounds to say that. Teams are going to give you their best punch. And I know you guys are used to that. talk about knowing regardless of it's Florida, regardless of it's Vanderbilt, it doesn't matter, knowing you're going to get each team's best shot each week. That's got to be something that

sticks in the back of y'all's mind as you're preparing throughout the week. I think like you just, like you said, I was just going to go right to that. It's about how you prepare. It's about how you practice. If you don't have an off, we court down weekend practice, it's like, oh, we're playing this team. We're playing out. Like every team has good players. Every team has a great plan, great coaches that we play. I haven't played a team. I haven't played a yet, they were just like, oh, you know, this team sucks. Like, you know, every team that we play has had good players. That one guy can mess with the game.

Like, you know, we go back to, I always remember we played, I think we played at UMass at home. And they had Andy Isabella, and that kid was going to be a blowout. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, yeah, it's going to be a blowout. But that kid was playing. He's balling. He's still balking now.

So, you know, we don't take any team lightly, any game, lightly, any player likely because, I mean, like you said, it's that one week you don't have a good week of priorities. So you got the one with fuddies out there and you just, you lose, you know. Yeah, and it's almost like taking it for granted. You don't want to take any of it for granted because you don't want to lose it because you guys have worked so hard to get here. I mean, how much do y'all talk about Jamari going back to winter workouts, going back to running in the summer and getting yourself in just the time that it takes? Because while people understand that football is a big commitment, I really still don't think a lot of people understand how much time you put in to play 12, 13 or 14 games and you don't want to take it for granted or maybe be the.

the guy that slips up in his preparation. Yeah, a lot of people don't. A lot of people don't understand unless you've been in that grind, unless you've been in that that top tier program. It's like, okay, like, we got it. We got to get this done. And it starts in January for a lot of teams. For us, I know it did.

It started in January. We're out there in a cold running, getting ready for a season that was months and months away. But, you know, it all kind of came together for us. We worked really hard in the offseason, though. We talk about it all the time. Even right before practice, we talk about just. you know, don't forget where he came from.

Don't forget how much work it took for 12, 13, 14, hopefully, you know, 14, 15 opportunities. So, you know, you put in so much work throughout the year for six, seven months to play 12, to hopefully play 14 games. So, yeah, it's crazy. Like, when you think about it from that perspective, about how hard you work for so many months for so few little opportunities, I mean, you really want to make them count. No, for sure. I mean, that's a perfect answer there, Jay. And, you know, one of my favorite things during fall camp, you know, not, not. that fall camp's just a bunch of candy and rainbows for coaches our players.

I think we all know how crazy that is. But finding out, you know, what drives guys individually? I mean, what, I know you've probably answered this in front of your teammates and coaches before, but Jamari, what is your why? What is your why you do the things you do? Why, you know, you work so hard at this. What is Jamari Sawyers, why? Oh, my wife, for me, it's my family.

I was raised by a wonderful mom. She, grandma, worked really hard to push me to where I am today. I got brothers and sisters who are at home looking up to me. I got a family that I want to eventually hope to take care of a family now and hopefully the future family one day that I think of. So for me, it's plain and simple. It's my family. I want to be able to take care of them.

I want to get my mom off her feet, be able to sit back, relax, and just do what she wants to do. My grandma's same way. So, yeah, I mean, that's my wife. It's very simple for me. I'm not extravagant. I'm not even really about myself. I'm about my family and being able to give them an opportunity

to just have a good life to experience, things that they've never seen before that I've gotten to experience while I was here. You know what I'm saying? Like when they're at home, you know, working and grinding every day. Like, you know, I'm here. I get the experience a lot and see a lot of things and go a lot of different places. So I want them to be able to do the same thing, you know, while I'm working. So, yeah, that's my one. Joe, I appreciate you sharing that with us, Jamari. That's something you're not going to get unless, you know, you ask.

And it's amazing, you know, you're going to get it because you do it the right way. And I would, I would bet on you. I'd bet the rent on you, man. But all right, I want to talk a little football before we let you go here. Looking at Florida, looking at the, looking this matchup, you've watched them. Again, you're playing the defense, not the offense. I always love when guys get players on here and start to ask them about, you know, the other team's offense.

It's like, well, Jammari's playing their defense. So he's not watching tape of Emery Jones run around. When you look at this four to defense, what are a few things? And I'm not talking schematically or game plan or anything. What are a few things that stand out to you? Absolutely. Like I said, the talent. They got great players.

Brent Cox, hell of a player. I play part ball together. That's my guy. So, you know, we grew up. Play a play at Glenwood. Shout out Glenwood Panthers, man. We played part of ball together. They got a great, great defensive front.

Very smart coach. Coach Grant was a great, great, great, great coach. Very smart, great, very great scheme. And, you know, Zach Carr is another good player. They got good players in front. So that's where it starts with them from what I've seen. I obviously got a really good corner in Kyra Elam. So, yeah, they've got talent all over the place.

And they got a great scheme to back it up. So, you know, it presents a great challenge for us. and we're excited about facing it. Definitely. Well, Jamari, it's always a pleasure to have you on. I do want to thank Jammari Sawyer and that break because I was wondering when I first came on, I saw Aaron Murray. And I thought, how am I going to follow Aaron Murray? What does he

think I am? Nick Fairley? And yes, if you know, you know on the Nick Fairley deal. But Jeffrey, man, I want to jump right into this because it's always interesting when coaches take a job like Auburn and you get kind of into the recruiting of the SEC when you come in from the outside. I want to start with recruiting and then get to some on the field stuff. Auburn had some momentum as of late, keeping some kids home. You look at Esten Harris. You look at Drew Bobo. Your thoughts on Brian Harsen's recruiting efforts so far.

Love it. And I probably wouldn't have said that a month ago if you'd ask me the same question. But the reason I love it is because of Drew Bobo and Estin Harris. Two big offensive linemen and some really good offensive. offensive linemen local guys. To me, these were both must have in this class. This was guys, Hartson could not let get away. These were guys Georgia wanted, Florida wanted.

So I thought this was, it was huge to get those two guys. Really like the foundation that he has right now heading into November. I like where Auburn is with a lot of other guys. Now, with this class, the COVID and all this, a lot of people went ahead and got committed and jumped on board elsewhere. So we're seeing a lot of potential flips this year. And Albers right there with they're taking advantage of Florida State season. They're taking advantage of the coaching situation at LSU.

They're not spinning their tires against these five-star guys that they really never have a shot with, against the Alabama and the Georgia side. They are going for that fit, you know, that cultural fit. And really like what he has, what Brian Harsen has committed right now. I really like the outlook over the next six weeks. for Auburn and what they've got going on. We've still got Ole Miss coming into town this weekend, big recruiting visit weekend.

And then, of course, the Iron Bowl will be huge there at the end of November, what, three weeks before signing it. Who are, who are, give me two or three, you think, Jeffrey, are the top guys right now that Auburn has a legit shot at. I mean, you look at Darius Clemens out there. I know Camari Wilson, there's some interest there. Just who are a couple guys that come to your mind that Auburn fans need to kind of maybe feel good about that are in the upper echelon of this class?

Darius Clemens, starting with him. He is the big-time wide receiver. He's the immediate impact guy. Now, they've already got two really good receivers committed in Omari, Kelly, and Jay Fair. But Darius Clemens is a tier in by himself when it comes to that. He's a guy who could come in play as a freshman. And as we've seen this year, Auburn, you know, wide receiver is a pretty big position of neat for all. I thought it was going to be the opposite line.

And it always will be. but Auburn needs some immediate impact guys. I think Darius Clemens is there. Auburn, Oregon, for him, can they get him away from home? Some people think they can. I tend to agree with them, at least for now. Tay Woody, four-star lineman from Radical Rogan LaFayette. He committed to Florida State.

I think he's been committed to Florida State for a while now. Back in the early summer, but Auburn's been pushing for him. I kind of like where they stand with him. I think it's more likely. He signs with Auburn right now than he does for. Florida State. So I'm keeping the eyes on those two guys. Another guy, kind of a new guy on the board, but Marquis, Gilbert is a Juco safety. And he's coming in for an official visit this weekend. He's a teammate of Juan Gaston, who, if you all remember, was in Auburn County last year,

had some late academic hiccups. I think he ended up getting in, but he had already went Juco, so he's just spending the year out there at Hutchison this year. But they're both coming in this weekend you want. Probably going to resign as long as everything goes well. But Marquis Gilbert is a guy as far as who could do something potentially sooner than others is who I'll be keeping on Marky's Gilbert. Yeah, and I wanted to Ole Miss here in a second, Jeffrey. But, you know, what do you think is a rational range for this Auburn class?

Because everybody's going to look at class rankings and we know it's important and this, that and the other. But this first class, because I don't think Brian Harson cares where the class is ranked, honestly. I don't think he's that type. He's going to recruit the type guys. You talk about the fit and stuff like that. But where do you see Auburn finishing this recruiting cycle? I would have said top 25, top 30, maybe six weeks ago. But like I said, I really like what they've done. They've got going on this momentum they've got in the middle of the season. I really feel like 15 to 20 is very doable. And that might be being conservative that they can get some of these guys.

And one guy I forgot to mention, Jake, just a minute ago, was Riley Quick, big office of tackle for Brussels, man. And he's committed to play Alabama, baseball at Alabama. But Auburn's really giving him something to think about. He's basically told us, you know, he's either going to play Alabama baseball at Alabama or he's going to play football at Auburn. So that could be another huge guy to keep an eye on. He'll be in town for, I mean, the Iron Bowl. But I think my expectations have gone up a little bit with the season with even the Georgia game where it was 34 to 10, but it was such a different ball game than it was a year ago.

That's true. You know more than I do when it comes to that, Jake, but I felt like last year it was embarrassing. It was just domination. It was embarrassing. It really was for Auburn. This year, the score, they didn't look as bad at the score, at least in my eyes. No, I'm with you. they looked like they could compete a little bit.

Last year it was down set hut, and it was a swarm of Georgia defensive lineman in the Auburn backfield, and then Auburn, you know, couldn't stop a noseweed, whether it was run game or the past game last year against Georgia. But to me, Jeffrey, it's seems to me like Auburn kind of has that perfect combination right now of having momentum during the season and playing time available. There's kind of a nuanced honey hole there that it seems that Auburn is fitting. And at a place like Auburn, you can finish with a flurry if you do well. I mean, Jeffrey, they control their own destiny right now.

And I want to get into that. And when you look at this Auburn team, you know, and I said it in the recap on Sunday, it looked to me like a different Auburn team got off that bus at Arkansas. They just, they looked different. The demeanor was different. The wide receiver group was different. It was like somebody, you know, finally said, listen, we got to cut this stuff out and start playing. And if that Auburn team shows up, they will have a chance in every ball game that they play.

Yeah, I completely agree. And I, again, wouldn't have thought I'd ever say that six weeks ago, especially after the Georgia State game. You know, I'm thinking, oh, my God, this could get bad. This could get ugly. Rebound and had a decent game against Georgia. But to go to Arkansas and do what they did, to not drop any passes, which is, you know, I think all of them has been harping on. And that's what I said before that game was, hey, make the place, make the catches. You know, don't turn the football over.

don't make stupid penalties. And if you still walk out of their loser, then tip your cap, man. Say best luck. But Auburn, I feel like the loss at Penn State, you know, Georgia was a lot of mistakes there with that too. I'm not saying that could have changed the outcome of the game. But I would have been interested to see what kind of game it would have been had, you know, Demetri's Robertson made more catches or Shedric, you know, made more plays.

So to see them go up to Arkansas and do that and you go, hey, man, they just meet a former top ten team. if I'm not mistaken, for the last three losses, those are the top ten. But I'll tell you, but the Ole Miss game, Jake, and again, you probably know more than me, but I didn't think this was going to be a good matchup for Auburn. I was shocked when I saw Auburn was favorite to win. I didn't like this match. You know, Jeffrey, I think right now, and every game is circumstantial, I always say that, and this is not a knock against Auburn if they'd have success against an Ole Miss team that's healthy,

but Ole Miss is beat up right now on offense. I mean, you've got really three offensive line. Ben Brown's done. He's done for the year. Caleb Warren's been hurt. He's going to try and play, I think. I think he's going to attempt to play. Their best tight ends out for the rest of this season.

I don't think Braylon Sanders is going to play. Mingo has a broken foot. And I look outside. Matt Corral's got an ankle right now. So it's not like he's going to run it 30 times like he did against Tennessee, you know, for 200 whatever yards. I'm looking at the matchup now with Auburn's defense and Olman's because I think Auburn's going to be able to score against Old Miss.

I know Ole Miss's defense is better, but they're not nearly where they need to be. I love the Chance Campbell Edition. That guy plays his guts out at Mike. I love watching him play. But I look at this matchup with Auburn's defense and Ole Miss's offense. And if I'm Derek Mason, I know that Donterio Drummond is your guy outside with Braylin out. I know that's your guy and there's a couple others that you have to have out there, but they're not big playmakers. Why would I not just put Roger McCreery on Donario Drummond, stuff the box early, stop the run,

which has been Ole Miss's best weapon as of late and say somebody's going to have to beat me outside. I just don't know how Auburn didn't do that and why you wouldn't heat up Matt Corral a lot more than what we've seen. Do you think he'll dial it up against Corral? Well, see, here's what I think, Jeffrey. And again, you can never always do the same thing. You've got to be multiple, but there is base stuff and you're working out of certain philosophies and certain schematics. I, for one, after watching Auburn play four down against Arkansas, think that Auburn's a four-down defense. I don't think they need to base out of a three down.

They look so much better out of a pass rush and against the run. And I'm talking zone and gap scheme out of four down. But if I'm Derek Mason early, I'm going to heat mat up a little bit. Because if you shut down the run, you're going to get them in third and seven. But the problem with Lane is he's one of the best in the country at stealing three or four third and sevens or third nine's during the game. But if it's me, I'm going to heat them up early. And then we get that lead and they have to start going over the top or trying to make those. extreme plays, as we call them, then you rush your three and you play your umbrella.

But I would mix it up because you have to. But, man, Jeffrey, I just don't know how you don't heat the guy up with a hurt ankle. I mean, you got to make it, make a choice. I agree. And I don't feel like that's something he's done a lot early in the game, at least. No, he hasn't. You're right. You think back to Arkansas, dude, Arkansas, third and seven, third and long, they ate Auburn up.

Yeah. They really do. Auburn stuff them on first, second down, and then, you know, Arkansas was making third and seven all day long. So, you know, of course, Derek Mason knows what he's doing a lot more than I do, but I would like to see him put some pressure on Corral. Run him out of that pocket, make him use that thing. Yeah. That's how you're going to get terms because Matt's going to have to. Look, Matt's the type where he's as competitive as anybody on the planet.

And once he realizes that you can't do it the normal way, he knows the timeline they're on. He knows the timeline that he's on. He is going to start trying to make throws that are almost impossible to make. He does it during the game sometimes and people don't realize it because they're such amazing throws. There's a few throws he made against Alabama early that you're like, okay, this guy's on a different planet doing it, but you do it through four quarters. It's like Bo Nicks against LSU, Jeffrey. I said, that's great. And Bo Nix running around and doing crazy stuff is great.

You don't win consistently like that. That's not how you win in this league. I completely agree. And I think sustainable drives on Auburn. I want to see him running the football, having success doing that. I think we both have confidence that Auburn should be able to run the football. football against old men. They should. And so are you, Jake, are you saying with Ole Miss, if everybody was healthy, are you,

are you singing a different tune right now? If Ole Miss had Mingo out there, if Ole Miss had Mingo out there, if they were healthy up front, because the upfront thing worries you more than the outside, it always will, it always should. I think this could legitimately be a 4138 game if everybody was healthy. I think it'd be a shootout. I really do, because, Wayne's that good offensive when it comes down. He's going to, a healthy Ole Miss is going to score 28 to 30 points on you. They just are. They did it against Bama.

They've done against everybody that's been worth their salt that they've played. So I think it'd be a little bit of a different story. Obviously, it changes the way you attack them. But man, I'm looking at this game, Jeffrey, and I really believe Auburn, I think there is a chance. And people are going to go crazy when I say this, especially our Ole Miss fans, but it is what it is. I would not be shocked if this game against Ole Miss looks a lot like the Auburn

an LSU game in Jordan Hare last year. I would not be shocked. I would not be shocked. I would not be shocked. I just get that feeling more I look at it because I don't think they're going to be able to protect Corral. And if you can't run, I mean, this isn't golden corral.

It's not just standing there and you can't move it. I mean, this is a human being. I mean, you got Derek Hall coming out there just starting to figure it out. Kobe Wooden's finally starting to trust guys around him and doing things. And is Papo back this week, Jeffrey? You think Owen's going to be back? I do. That's a big look.

That's not just a big play for this week. week if Auburn were to get by this one against A&M and then Bama at home, that's when you got to have it. That's when you got to have Owen back. So to me, it's all about, you know, the output and the input of injuries. But speaking about output, man, y'all are putting great stuff out over there at Auburn Live.
