This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clivert Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career
in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not

So let's get to it.
Listen to The Clifford show on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

On The Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84 is big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild.
I mean, it was a wild year.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

I don't care which I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, the reactions,
my journey from basketball to college football,

Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger,
than I ever imagined.
And now I'm bringing all of that excitement

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the look back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode
where we've discussed crack, so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way with me, your host, and your favorite therapist, Kear Games.
And in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field and,
conversations with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking.
Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions.
bro. Absolutely. And that's two
different levels of trust. I want you to
just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines, is we have real
conversations about healing, growth,
fatherhood, pressure, and purpose

across the country been amping up the excitement
every college football Saturday
this season? Well, they've been playing Colin Calhurt's
Saturday spreads on Fandul for a free
shot at big prizes. And
For those who missed out on the fun earlier this season, there's still time to start playing.
The game's simple.
We'll choose 10 of college football's biggest matchups each week, make your picks against the spread for each one,
and the fans who get the most right win a share of $5,000 in prizes.
That's a share of five grand in prizes up for grabs every week.
Here's a couple that I like this week.
You can give me Arkansas minus five and a half at home.
They got something to prove.
Mississippi State is Jekyll and Hyde with Mike Leach, big win for State over Kentucky,
but I think Arkansas bounces back off a by week and wins by six or more there.
Give me Michigan State minus two and a half against Purdue.
I think Purdue's already slayed their giant for this year.
Mel Tucker's got Michigan State rolling big win over crosstown rival Michigan last week.
Give me Kentucky minus two and a half.
Getting off the mat against the Tennessee team.
Mentioned the earlier win for Mike Leach and them.
Kentucky just played their worst game.
We'll love us.
The quarterback played his worst game.
But you can give me Kentucky bouncing back as well, minus two and a half this weekend.

Welcome to the J-Boy show on the volume.
Presented by Fanduel and hosted by Jake Crane.
This is Roman Harper.
This is Dave.
This is David Pollock and you're watching the J-Boy Show.
And you're watching the J-Boy Show.
And thanks for watching the J-Boy Show.
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021.
We're back in action, baby.
I appreciate you guys joining us on the J-Boy Show.
Got a great show for you today.
But there's a few housekeeping things
that I want to say before we get started.
Hit us.
The Atlanta Braves are the 2021 World Series champions.
We...
All the champions.
And I just want to say, I feel like a little bit of it's because I moved to Atlanta.
I'm sorry.
You know, it's amazing.
You move to Atlanta.
The Braves are winning.
George's number one in the country.
I'm starting to get worried a little bit.
Man, I'm so happy for Freddie Freeman.
Oh, I'm so happy.
Look, he was trying not to get emotional in that interview.
He deserves to keep that ball.
He believed in the Braves when nobody else believed in him.
But I want to talk about just for a second, the home run that Jorge Soler hit last night.
I don't think it landed.
There's home runs.
And then there's what we call Mamo bombs.
What Jorge Soler hit was the equivalent of what the Chinese delivered with the hypersonic missile that can travel around the world in like 10 seconds.
Jake said that ball landed in Dallas.
It landed in Dallas.
No, Jerry Jones picked that ball up.
Yeah, Cowboys fans.
You know what does the ball?
Jerry Jones has the ball.
Four sliders in a row.
But I've been waiting for the whole series to say this to the Astros fans.
Maybe a little cliche may not be too original.
but Houston, you have a problem.
Feels good.
Number two, I do want to say happy birthday to Trudy Rickett,
turning 29 today.
Love it.
Very excited for her.
Day after my birthday, I had to throw a shout out there.
Trudy, congrats on 29.
But we got a great show for you today.
I'm going to talk, the committee,
release the college football playoffs.
And everybody in the world is going to be talking about this.
And I feel like the committee did a pretty good job.
And I'm going to go in on that.
And I also want to talk about how this,
just once again proves that we need a 12-team playoff.
We put the matchups up every Tuesday
and how cool they would be in our top 12.
A lot of these points that people are making
and they'll argue about the 13 team and this, that, and the other,
and we'll get into it. I don't want to jump too far into it right now.
But it just shows you we need the 12 team.
I love the 8 team. I still think the 8 team was the right move,
but the more I look at this 12 team,
and I think there's a lot of people that didn't like the playoffs.
They're looking at it now, like, wait a minute.
And they're kind of rethinking it a little bit.
I'm one of them.
I think they're rethinking it.
Seth Galena from PFF's going to join us. I want to ask him a little bit about
playoffs, you know, looking at the SEC a little bit. I want to talk a little bit about the West and then looking at the East. And you had a great point, Cohn, about does the Big Ten have the second best division in college football? And I mean, they have three top ten teams right now. I want to talk about that. We're going to play fill in the gap as usual. Jeffrey Lee from Auburn Live is going to join us to talk some recruiting. I told you we're going to be sprinkling this end. Going to hit Auburn this week. Going to hit A&M this week. We're going to keep spreading the love. I know everybody out there loves recruiting, especially as we get through the season. And as Dan,
Mullen would call it getting closer to recruiting season.
Which that's not even a real term.
It's always recruiting season.
It's just recruiting.
It never stops.
We're going to take your questions from the booster clubs.
Guys, five and two last night.
Five and two last night with the match.
Akron came through in the clutch for the kid.
Eastern one out.
Yeah.
Not for this kid.
That's for sure.
You still have a clutch for this kid.
I mean, five and two, you got, you got bad beated at the end.
And we'll talk about that.
You did too.
That's what happened sometimes.
But listen, you're in the green.
122 and 85 overall.
Smells great, fellas.
Smells great.
So come get some walking around money.
Yeah.
If you want to tell you, you just get some walking around, you know, yo Gotti, you know, Fetti walk type money.
Grab our hands and you're welcome.
Grab our hands and you're welcome.
Look me in the eyes, but don't look me in the eyes.
Here's what I want to start.
The committee, I think, did about as good as they could do.
And the reason is this.
The eye test matters.
It really does.
Strength of schedule.
matters, we get it. It does.
Head to heads, huge. We get it.
That's why Oregon was four. And I've talked
about it, and we can dive into this.
But I think the committee,
in my opinion,
is not just
grandfathering people in
as usual.
And maybe because there's more parity this year.
And people say, oh, Alabama at second
and I'm going to get to that. But
it looks to me like the committee is actually
saying what it looks like on
the field is where we're going to
you in the rankings, which is how it should be.
We have them up right here.
Georgia 1, Bama 2, Michigan State 3, Oregon 4.
And I want to start with Oklahoma at 8.
Oklahoma is 0 and 5 in the playoff, right?
O'n 5 in the playoffs.
Haven't won 1.
Talked about that before.
Jason Curzeon talked about that.
And you struggled with Kansas.
So in my opinion, you're lucky to be 8.
Oklahoma, when you look at him, is a good football team.
They're not an elite football team defensively.
I know they've had some guys out, but even when they had those guys earlier,
they were missing tackles left and right.
This team would struggle against any competent offense.
You barely beat Kansas.
In my opinion, you don't have the right to say anything about where you're at right now.
It's, and it's easy now.
It'll work itself out.
There's still more games.
But if you're an Oklahoma fan, you're complaining about being eight.
You're lucky to be eight.
You can't play Kansas close.
You can't sit here.
I was born at night, okay, but not last night.
And when I watch Oklahoma play,
if anybody that knows anything about football,
watch Oklahoma plays,
there's a lot of Oklahoma fans that'll say the same thing.
There's a ton of smart Oklahoma fans out there,
and they will tell you,
this team is not elite.
They're not.
Caleb Williams is going to be outstanding,
outstanding, but they're not balanced as a team.
They do not have a good defense.
And with a young quarterback, that offense will go through sputters and go through spots where they struggle.
Now, if Oklahoma wins out and they look great doing it and they kind of find something,
like we've seen a bunch of teams that have started to find something.
Ohio State found something.
You know, you look, A&M's found something.
Auburn's found something.
You can go down the list.
But Oklahoma wins out and looks good doing it.
We'll have that conversation then.
But where they sit right now and the way they have played this season,
And their lack of focus in many games to me lends you to be number eight.
The committee knocked that one out of the park, in my opinion.
They knocked it out of the park.
Now to a second point that a lot of people are upset about, Alabama at two.
First off, stop calling Texas A&M unranked.
Were they unranked when Bama played them?
Yes, but they're ranked right now.
They're ranked 14th.
That's like saying, oh, I'm renovating my house.
We're renovating my house.
Then I finish it.
and I still call it a small house.
Things change.
It's like, oh, well, you know, my friend's wife got a nose job two months ago.
So, but my friend's now not going to say, well, I'm married to a girl that has the same nose.
Because you want to know why?
Things change, especially in college football throughout the season.
Texas A&M is not unranked.
Stop saying that.
to quote Jerome from Beham on Twitter, stop with all the foolishness.
They're a ranked team.
Put some respect on Texas A&M's name.
And guess what?
They get to go out and we'll see this weekend against Auburn.
That's the beautiful part about this.
But Bama being number two, the I test, the eye test, let's talk about it.
Bama plays Michigan State.
I think what did Colin Wilson have it as a 17 and a half point game?
It's Georgia.
And Colin Coward said it best.
And if I didn't believe what Colin Cowherd said, I would tell you.
Just because we're on the volume doesn't mean I have to agree with everything that Colin Cowherd says.
It's Georgia right now.
Then it's Alabama.
And in my opinion, it's everybody else.
That's the truth.
Oregon at four.
I made this point yesterday.
Head to head should always be the first tiebreaker you use when everything is as close to as even as possible.
And it's never all the way even, ever, especially in college football.
And right now, if Oregon played Ohio State,
I would pick Ohio State to win.
But I can't get mad at the committee for putting the number four when they went up to Columbus and beat Ohio State.
They both have one loss.
I get that Oregon lost to Stanford.
I get that.
I watched the game.
We watched it before our live stream on Saturday.
And in my opinion, if Oregon finishes the season with one loss and Ohio State finishes the season with one loss, Oregon should get in.
Head-to-head matters, especially on the road.
That's a huge factor in this.
And I know Verdel's out for Oregon.
We've talked about that at nauseam.
Shout out Eric.
But I don't blame the committee for putting them forward.
The committee is putting the work in early that if Oregon just loses one game,
they're going to be in and they're right.
They're doing their homework early.
Now, do I think Oregon finishes the season with one loss?
I think they're going to drop one.
A lot of times, like you say, Cohn, it works its way out.
But Ohio State has a really good schedule coming up.
they're playing some pretty high-level teams, high-ranked teams,
and I want to get into that Big Ten East, right?
That's what we talked about, the Big Ten East.
But Oregon should be four.
The other graphic up one more time for me, come.
They should be four.
And you can argue against it and make arguments against it,
but how can you look me in the eyes at the end of the season
if they both have one loss and say, no, you've got to put Ohio State in?
Then, like I said yesterday, I would never schedule a good team out of conference again.
Never.
I'd play Alcorn State.
I'd play Morgan State.
Hell, I'd play Bishop Sycamore.
Why would you ever schedule anybody good?
Now, Wake Forest at 8.
I said this about Cincinnati yesterday.
Nine.
I'm sorry, Wake Forest at 9.
I said this about Cincinnati yesterday.
It's a great story.
It's an elite story, what they've done over there,
after losing Kenneth Walker.
But they're not an elite team.
That defense isn't very good.
And the ACC has been one ounce short of two cups of dog water.
And that's just how it is.
And to be honest, we look at Wake's schedule.
That Clemson game is scary.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Look, I honestly think that Oklahoma should be ranked above Michigan.
I really do because, look, they are undefeated, right?
And if it were the other way around and you were looking at an undefeated Michigan team, okay?
Who just beat Michigan State.
You know, here's the thing.
Like you said, it'll work itself.
I feel like that scene in entourage when Vinnie and E.
Sit down with Paul Haggis and they're trying to figure out a way to make the Medi-Ean movie.
And he keeps saying, look, it'll be fine.
it'll work itself out.
It'll work it out.
He looks at him and said, why do you keep saying that?
Because I truly believe it'll work itself out.
Let's throw this back up here again.
Because look here, speaking about, let's start with Wake.
Because honestly, this morning, I felt like, man, maybe even Wake should be ranked ahead of Michigan, right?
But then I looked at their schedule.
It's so back heavy.
They're going to have North Carolina, North Carolina State, Clemson, and who is the fourth one that they have right there to end the season.
Anyway, they have four, B.C.
That's right.
All tough games that they could lose, right?
I mean, they could lose all four of those games, right?
Yeah.
If you're looking at it.
Now, you go on Oklahoma, at the end of the day, they're going to have to play Baylor and Oklahoma State.
And for even the Michigan fans who say that, you know, look, there was only one loss.
It was on the road against a good Michigan State team.
You'll get a chance to prove yourself too.
You have to Penn State, and then you're going to have Ohio at home.
So for any of the teams who we think right now are ranked too high, they are going to get a chance to prove themselves.
Take Michigan State.
You're still going to have to beat Ohio and Penn State, right?
You get a chance to prove that you aren't ranked too high.
And for the ones who are ranked too low, they're going to get a chance to move up in the rankings.
Because if Oklahoma beats Baylor and Oklahoma State and goes undefeated in a Power 5 conference, what else can you say?
At some point, if you've won all the games, it's not going to matter too much how you play.
And my point is, I don't think, well, I don't think Oklahoma or Wake's going to lead the season unscathed.
And you have championship games in conference.
We can't forget about that.
That's going to be humongous when it comes down to it, when it comes down to it.
when it comes down to split the hairs.
But you know how we could solve a lot of this?
You know one way that if we were smart enough, we could solve all this?
You have a playoff, 12-team playoff.
Oh, wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
I don't want to hear any complaining about getting in from the PAC 12, from the ACC, from the Big Ten.
Don't want to hear it.
Don't want to hear it.
You're the same guys who, who, it's amazing.
you worry about it now when it's football season. But you want to try and take some fake high road
and try and say, oh, well, you know, the SEC, they just love football too much. It's too much of a
priority down there. I don't want to hear any complaining when you form an alliance, a non-contractual
alliance trying to delay the playoff, which is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. It's self-sabotage.
And we look at the matchups every Tuesday. And there's a lot of people. And I was an 18.
team guy. And the 12 team has started to warm up a little bit. I don't want to go down the slippery
slope of having 48 teams in the playoff. That's not what it should be. But we could solve a lot of
these problems by having a 12 team playoff. A lot of these arguments would get solved on the field.
But since we don't have that, and every week it's going to change, and there's going to be ebbs and
there's going to be flows, there's going to be ups, there's going to be downs, it's going to be left,
right, north, south, east, west, who's the worst and who's kind of the best.
But at the end of the day, it would be great to be able to see this matchup on the field.
It would be great to say, okay, Oklahoma, all this stuff that you said,
all of this, all of that about how you guys are better than what everybody else is.
Well, here's your chance.
Here it is.
And it would be so much fun as not only a college football fan,
not only somebody that covers college football, but for the players,
for those campuses, it needs to happen.
fast. And if those, and I don't want to, those clowns from the alliance want to screw it up,
then put them where they belong in the circus. Because that's where clowns belong. You are robbing
college football of something beautiful. And guess what? When it's on the field, there are no
excuses. And the 13th team will be upset, like you said in college basketball, the 60, you know,
ninth team, I guess not with the playing games or whatever it is, gets upset and this,
and the other, and that'll be one, two, three, four, maybe five isolated situations.
So do you at least want to get to the end of the season, right?
Because my argument against that when we had that conversation before was, look,
there's never been a time when more than three teams have been able to win the national
title.
I don't think you're wrong.
I don't think that's wrong.
In college football, right?
And the reason we went to four was because there were times that more than two teams could
win.
Remember the 2004 Auburn team that didn't even get a shot from the SEC West?
I mean, it's unfathomable.
Yeah, they put Jason White, who was basically running on one leg.
He was talking to peg leg.
It was like 56 to 3.
Well, Auburn would have made that 14 playoff, right?
And we would have gotten to play itself out.
So this does seem to be the first year where there have been more teams that could win it than just three.
But there's still four weeks left in the season, right?
So if we get to the end of it and it looks like, look, right, again, Georgia,
Alabama, Ohio State, everyone else falls down.
Oregon drops another one.
Oklahoma maybe loses two, right?
Michigan keeps losing two.
Wake Forest drops two of those last four.
How are you going to feel then?
Well, to me, like, I love parody,
and I love kind of watching something different
than the same old movie that we've seen.
But my argument to combat what you said was,
you're right, there's only been three,
maybe four in some years,
teams that had a chance to actually win it.
But do you know, and I'm all for meritocracy.
Okay, the teams that do the best, that, and the best, this, that, and the other, they deserve to win.
That's how it should be.
Capitalistic point of view, I guess you could say.
But do you know how you add more teams that can win a national championship legitimately?
Because this all comes down to recruiting.
Sure.
Comes down to the players.
You give more teams the opportunity to go into that recruits living room and look at his mom and his daddy, his grandma, his grandpa, his auntie, his uncle, his guardian, whoever, and say, guess what?
It's not just Alabama and Georgia and Oklahoma and Ohio State making the playoff anymore.
Because this, in recruiting, it's different.
This isn't your grandfather's recruiting kind of landscape.
It's not the, oh, I grew up here, or my dad went here or this and another.
They are making business decisions out there.
And you know what?
If I had a son that was a five-star, I'd send them to one of these top schools because
their goals to get in the NFL.
And 90% of these parents, 90% of these parents of these high-level kids,
assume they're going to the NFL.
It's their baby. It's their most prized possession.
They're always going to assume the best.
But to me, being able to have more people go in and say,
we can get you the tape that matters.
Because you want to go from a second rounder to a first rounder?
Ball out in a big game against an elite team.
You want to go from undrafted to a fourth rounder?
Ball in a big game against an elite team in the playoff
and come out of nowhere and make those scouts say,
man, we know about this guy, but he's doing it against a first round corner.
He's doing it against a, this quarterback's doing against a first round.
round two guys in the secondary that are going to go first round? To me, I think that's how you
keep expanding that, but I think you're right. Speaking about expanding, let's expand our knowledge
of the playoff in the game. Overall, Seth Galena from PFF's going to join us.
All right, here he goes. Excuse me. Seth, what's up, man? Hey, Seth, can you hear me, brother?
It's live TV, a little technical difficulty action. I'm going to try one more time.
He's good on our end. Seth, can you hear me, brother? He cannot. Okay. Let's get him back up. We'll get him back in.
go to the booster club lane what do we got over there yeah and i felt like we didn't really hit this
and the one of the things i got took away from this top 25 is every year i have to sit here and watch
notre dame get a free ticket yep and to the top 10 so we already got boosters talking about it
michael salka says the fact that under dame still gets frank top 10 is laughable hashtag as jable how
much is the pope paying the college football playoff well you know what to me it's like
it's like i'm trying to remember i think it's the movie hall pass when they're like at the bar
or chilies or applebees or wherever they are.
And the guy's like, man, you know, that's a good looking girl over there.
And the guy's like, wait a minute.
And he like changes his hands.
And all of a sudden you realize it may not be as good looking as you thought.
To me, that's Notre Dame.
We hear the name Notre Dame.
And everybody's mind goes back to 1968 or 1985 or somewhere around there.
How many times do we have to watch Notre Dame be overrated?
How many times?
Because who have they beaten?
Who have they beaten?
Who's Notre Dame beaten?
Name one quality team that you can say North Carolina.
North Carolina is not the same North Carolina.
Those guys on offense are in the league.
Sam How's a good player.
He has no weapons around them other than downs.
But again, Notre Dame could play nothing but a mediocre at best schedule.
I got it right here.
And you get it, yeah, give it to me.
Who they beaten?
FSU by three.
Toledo by three.
Just lost seats from Michigan last night.
Purdue by 14.
They beat Wisconsin.
Wisconsin was not playing well.
I think Wisconsin's got a lot better.
They found something in the room.
They lost to Cincinnati.
Beat Virginia Tech by three,
beat USC and UNC.
And they have Navy, Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Stanford.
If you put Georgia would beat Notre Dame by 40 points.
I don't know if Notre Dame would get a first down.
Jack Cone would look like Mr. Potato Head at the end of that game.
You'd have to be picking his,
limbs and hat up on helmet up off the ground i'm just and i don't want to dive too deep into this
because notre dame has some some really good players at some spots for sure but at the end of the day
we got to stop doing you got to start making notre dame earn it you got to start making them earn it
i know they're a big brand i know they bring a lot of money to the sport i know the mc tv deal
and all that stuff's great but we can all see it if you know anything about college football
and you're not biased toward netherdame you're so you're so
sick of this. You're sick of it. There's a Botox of college football. That's what they are.
It's just throw another talking point because it's Notre Dame because we know we'll grab that part of
the base. That's why I don't even like talking about it. Because all they're going to do is if they
somehow sneak in, and I don't see them sneaking in, but if they somehow sneak in, they are going to
get beat maybe worse than they've ever gotten beat on the big stage. Yeah. No, I completely get. And now it's
just, you know they're going to get the 12 team. If it does go to 12 team, they'll get in.
Every year.
They need to join a conference.
Yeah, every year.
We've got a question from Russell and says,
do you think the committee ranked Mississippi State of 17 to boost Alabama's resume?
Mississippi State does quality wins, but 17 seems a little high.
It feels like it's a little confirmation bias there.
You know, I think you can look at it a couple different ways.
I mean, Mississippi State did just come off the big win over Kentucky.
I don't think it's that deep.
In my opinion, I think they look, obviously, being in the SEC at strength of schedule.
And once you get past 15.
honestly, you're reaching in a lot of different directions.
We could have arguments all day about 15 and up as opposed to 1 through 14 or really 1 through 12.
I guess you could say 13 and up.
But to me, you know, it'll work itself out again.
I mean, Mississippi State does not have an easy schedule at all at the end of the season.
But then being at 17 helps a lot of teams, including Alabama, including Auburn.
Doesn't make that A&M loss against Mississippi State look that bad.
A&M rising and playing the way.
they are is making Mississippi State rise as well because of that win.
That was a huge win for them.
And if you look at Mississippi State, didn't play well against Memphis.
We talk about Mike Leach all the time.
It's up and down.
It's a roller coaster.
But they have some opportunities ahead of them as well to cap off a good season.
And Will Rogers is no joke.
We talked about him with Trevor Sick and me yesterday.
All right.
I've got a question from Noah Smith.
If they do go to 12, what is stopping them from expanding to even more?
See, this is, okay.
Slippery slope.
It's a slippery slope argument.
And look, at least the way society goes, you're always wanting more.
And the part that I get worried about that is they go to the 12-team playoff
and they see all the money that they're making in these matchups
because it's going to be a massive amount of money.
Like I always say in the show, I'm not a math scientist.
But I do know that 12 is 4 times 3.
So they're probably going to be making 3 times the amount of money on a 12-team playoff
that they make on a 14-playoff.
And that scares you because these guys up at the top,
and I hate to break this to everyone.
They care about money.
That's what drives this.
It's a business.
It's not passion and love for student athletes that drives these decisions.
I hate to break that to everybody.
But I'm afraid they're going to look at that and just like every big business of all time
to say, well, if we can triple our profits, why don't we double the already tripled profits and make it a 2014 playoff?
Because I think 12 is right on the precipice.
and right at the end or maybe the cap you could call it
before you start affecting the regular season
and making the regular season less valuable
because if you're going to add more teams to the playoff than 12
you're going to have to add more games
and you can't have college teams playing 17 games
so you're going to have to start taking games away
from the regular season
are making some adjustments there
that's what worries me
and I go back and forth
because sometimes I think, man, I'm worried about the 12-team playoff because maybe people will stop trying to schedule great out of conference games.
Will we still get Georgia Clemson?
Will we still get some of these great matchups at the beginning of the season?
That should be played on campus and not at neutral sides.
But that's neither here nor there.
But then I look on the other end and say, well, if all these conferences are expanding and you've got big-time teams going left and right and forming super conferences,
well, the conference schedule is going to be amazing and better than any conference schedule we've ever had anyways.
So are you really not robbing Peter to pay Paul, but you're really replacing the great non-conference early season games
with great new conference matchups with new teams.
It's acceptable.
To me, that's more acceptable.
As long as they can work the bowl games into it, right?
Because college football players don't want to see the bowl games.
You have to, though, right?
And also, there's only so many football games you can play in a season.
It's not like college basketball.
just worry that sometimes the powers that be at the NCAA who really haven't played football
don't understand that you have to cap a collision sport like this at a certain number, right?
And so we have to figure out what that number is because a lot of these teams, like you look
at the SEC West, you're already running a gauntlet, like a physical gauntlet every single week
before you even get to whatever a 12-team playoff would be.
Yeah, well, it's the Clemson argument.
You don't play anybody all year and you're healthier than everybody going into the
playoff.
It's just the truth.
Yeah, no, I mean, it's the truth.
You can get upset if you want, but that's the truth.
Look how bad the ACC is this year.
That does nothing but reinforce that argument.
What else we got?
Yeah, we got a question here from Jeff Hutton.
Oh, Jeff, it's A&M week.
You can guess what it's going to be about?
I don't know.
Can I say this though?
Can I say this, though?
I do want to give props to Jeff and 99% of the A&M fans in the booster club.
Even when y'all weren't winning, y'all were still here.
True.
Y'all were still here.
True.
And that's why I don't think it's, there's not a lot of
front runners in the booster club. There's a couple. You know who I'm looking at. You know who you are.
There's a couple. But what is what is a college station Jeff have to say? Yeah, it's A&M related.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. I'm shocked. How much will A&M move up in the rankings after beating the
Auburn Tigers? If A&M beats Auburn, they've got to be top 10. I mean, they're sitting at 14 now,
I believe in the AP. Leave the college football player to the side. If A&M beats Auburn, a surging
Auburn team, I think we can say that, kind of a reincarnated
trending up. If they beat them to me, I think not only
will they move to the top 10, but this solidifies them
as legit. And you say, okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, Jake, what are you
talking about? I still don't know if we know about A&M, and
here's why. A&M played about as good
as they could play, especially offensively against Alabama. And everybody
gets up to play Bama. Bama,
We'll get everybody's best shot because it's everybody's Super Bowl.
And it's a huge hurdle.
It's one that when the schedules come out and you see that name Alabama,
that one circled in the weight room.
For sure, yeah.
That's one that gets talked about.
Played great against Alabama.
Played good against Missouri, a very bad Missouri team, especially defensively.
I'm talking about bottom 10 bad defensively.
I'm talking about me getting the kids from kicking and screaming
and putting together an offense and running for 230 y'all.
Stranger Danger.
Then you play a South Carolina team that has about as much personnel as then CAA has right now with all the power they've lost.
And that's not Coach Beam's fault.
We talk about it all the time.
Shane Beamer is a great recruiter.
They will change that at South Carolina.
But they're not good this year.
Heck, I mean, they had Bobby Boucher playing quarterback, but it wasn't as good as that.
When does a towel away come on?
It reminded me of the scene when Dan Patrick, when what is it, Red Bayous at the local?
pub and he actually played for Michigan.
They say he was playing for Michigan.
He's playing for Michigan.
Because Bobby Boucher inspired him.
And they have the towel boy and he just gets
wrecked going across the metal.
Just wrecked.
But you look good against Missouri and South Carolina.
A lot of people look good against Missouri and South Carolina.
Which A&M team are we going to see?
And typically when you see the highest of highs,
which is Alabama, and I think you could say
the lowest of lows, Colorado,
Mississippi State, Arkansas.
I think we're going to get somewhere in the middle.
to me.
But if they beat Auburn and they handle Auburn and they're able to run the ball consistently,
I think it totally legitimizes Texas A&M, and I think they're a much better team.
Do you want to try a more time?
Yeah, let's get Seth back in here.
Let's try here real quick.
Let's get Seth in here.
Let's see.
There is.
Seth, can you hear me now?
Yes.
I had some technical difficulties.
But I don't want to blog this show down with technical aspects, but you know how I fixed it?
Unsug and plug it and plug the back in.
Hey, there you go.
Look, they call that the Steve Jobs Special.
It's how they built the pyramids.
I think we can all agree.
Seth, you know, we were talking about the college football playoff being released last night.
I know everybody in their grandmother's talking about it.
What were your initial thoughts?
And we can keep it in the top 10 right here.
What were your initial thoughts of the top 10 that came out?
And I know it's early in the process, but it's fun to talk about.
Yeah, I mean, obviously, I think the first thing that pops out is Oregon.
He's sitting there in the playoffs.
off right now. Not sure they are a good team or they're a good team. I don't know if they're a top
four team right now. In fact, I know in the PFF power rankings, they're at 22, I believe. So big
discrepancy between what we think about Oregon and what the college football playoff thinks about
Oregon. And I think even just what anyone thinks about Oregon, it was probably in between those two
numbers. So that to me was the big one. And then just the issue with Cincinnati where it's like, look,
Do I think Cincinnati is this unbelievable football team that could over 10 games compete with Alabama or Georgia or Ohio State or maybe even Oregon?
No, I don't.
However, we've got to put some of these teams into playoff because of their resume in a sense that they don't lose games ever.
So it's disappointing.
That's the only thing.
Well, Seth, let me ask you this.
If we go on that, then why isn't UTSA in the top four?
Well, so here's my thing with the group of five teams and when we talk about the resume.
And it's unfortunate, but I do think it's kind of true.
You kind of have to go back and do it as a two-year thing.
So we know Cincinnati hasn't lost in the regular season in two years,
and obviously they did lose to Georgia last year in the Peach Bowl.
However, close loss, whatever.
UTSA, it's one-year thing.
Now, if UTSA does it again for another year, then great.
I also think there's a big difference between the level of competition that UTSA.
is playing in the level of competition that Cincinnati has played over the past two years.
So I think that to me is the big difference.
Again, do I think Cincinnati could beat Georgia over 10 games, even five times?
No.
But I don't see some spice in college football playoff at one point or another.
Well, you know how we fix it.
We do go to the 12-team playoff.
That's how we fix.
And a lot of these arguments get fixed.
But the two-year term, that's very interesting.
I've never heard that before.
I just, I feel like if you're going to reward it.
a team for two years, then you've got to punish a team for two years. So, you know, and there are
different teams and landscapes change and this, that, and the other. My thing with Oregon is, Seth,
and again, you know, I always like having this debate, especially early when it comes out,
because there's so much, and it's going to work itself out. Cohn says it all the time. I think
you agree. It'll work itself out most likely. But when I look at Oregon, and this is without
Verdell Jr., which we know how critical he was to a lot of what they're doing, I agree with you
that if Ohio State played Oregon right now,
I think Ohio State be maybe a 10-point favorite.
I think they beat them.
I don't know if it would be a super close game,
especially the way C.J. Strouds come on.
The defense has made some adjustments.
You've seen more zone coverage.
But if we're going to look at resume
and we're going to take into account everything
and where we're at right now,
if Oregon finishes with one loss at the end of the year
and Ohio State finishes with one loss at the end of the year,
how would I ever convince an AD to schedule a good,
non-conference opponent again if I'm in the power five if you're not going to give me the
head-to-head win on the road in Columbus. I would never schedule anybody again. Like I said,
I'd schedule Bishop Sycamore. We'd play them. They'd play three games in four days.
I think this always boils down to the same thing, which is like, what is the committee looking for?
And they never really tell us what they're looking for. So if you want to be like, hey, who are the
best teams, who are the best teams of the country? Well, it's probably Georgia and Alabama.
And even if Alabama has two losses, there's probably still the best team, you know,
top four group and then it's Ohio State and then there's then there's there's some some
issue with some other teams but then it's like okay but like you said well if we just do that then
we have the issue of like you're saying Oregon goes on the road to Columbus beats Ohio State and
they're not rewarded for that so why would we ever keep doing that so I don't know like this is
to me it's the issue is like we don't know what they want in the playoff but well that's that's not
true we know what they want in the playoff they want SEC teams they want big name teams because
they want money that's what they want in the playoff but we don't
know. So they keep trying to change. I feel like they keep trying to like pull the wall over our eyes
in a sense and kind of changed it. Well, no, this year actually we're looking more at, you know,
head to heads. But next year, we're going to look at more and strike the schedule and stuff like that.
We don't know. It's just a bunch of people in a room together talking it out.
You know, Seth, let me ask you this. Do you think it would be advantageous? And I really honestly
believe this. What if we put the camera in the meeting room and got to listen to what they were saying?
Because again, I'll agree with Seth on this.
What is the criteria?
What's the criteria?
Really, year to year, what is the criteria?
Because you look at college basketball, we got a pretty good idea how you get in there.
There's not a ton.
There's always arguments and this, that, and the other.
But they kind of got a little Pythagorean theorem of how it works.
Right now, and I like it this year because it looks to me like the eye test actually matters,
but it can't keep waffling back and forth.
And to that point, Seth, if you think it's waffling back and forth with four,
it's going to be wild with 12.
It will be absolutely nuts.
And then you get into seating.
But I do think, at least with 12, you get to settle it on the field.
Will the 13th team complain?
Will the 14th?
Will the 14th? Will the 15th?
Yes.
Like Cohn said, the 70th team in college basketball.
Winthrop complains while they're not in.
They're like, we could win it.
We could win it.
We could really win it.
Someone's feelings are going to get hurt.
Somebody's feelings is going to get hurt.
I feel like I could.
Yeah.
Listen, after I watched Loyola, Chicago, do what they've done the basketball.
years. I want to get a few buds from the wreck, a few older gentlemen that wear headbands in
high socks and play fundamental basketball and see how far we can go. You know, it's a lot of
parody now. NIL, you never know what could happen. I'm not willing to try that against the Georgia
defense, though. No, no, no, no. I'm talking about basketball, not football. Yeah, but let's talk
about that. Seth, that's a good point. Let me ask you this because I love asking this question because
it's one I think is very relevant. And this is what kind of makes this year a little bit different.
We're here with Seth Kalina from PFF.
They do great stuff over there.
Had your boy Trevor Sycambe on yesterday,
did a great job talking about QBs.
But looking at Georgia,
how big is the gap between Georgia and everybody else?
And what I mean by everybody else is Alabama.
I think this year, I was really excited because I thought Alabama was still like a tick above Georgia.
I think Alabama's defensive problems,
and we've seen it recently against Texas A&M.
we sought against Tennessee.
Specifically, they're having a lot of trouble playing man coverage,
and that's not a thing that we expect Alabama to have trouble with,
but it's happening.
And I do wonder if they played a team with real receivers one of these days,
and it's not going to happen again with LSU this week
because of their beat up receiving court.
What would happen?
Like, what would happen?
So I think Alabama's offense is fine.
With that said, can they go up against,
with a true, sorry, not true freshman, Corby,
a quarterback making his first ever starts in Bryce Young still
against this Georgia defense.
That scares me.
And I think that Georgia can probably score on this team.
So now I've kind of reversed in this past, like, month
and kind of thinking Georgia really is above still above Alabama.
And I still wanted to take them for some weeks.
I still wanted to take them if they were to play in the SEC championship games.
but I really think that Georgia has figured it out on offensive.
What they remind me of is 2011 LSU,
where the defense is as nasty as they come.
I like that concept.
Sometimes the offense is like, sometimes the offense is whatever,
you know, Jordan Jefferson, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
And they score 55 points.
And you're like, oh, well, there you go.
And they do it in different ways.
Like LSU had a lot of special teams plays in that year.
But so I think that they'll still score a lot of points.
and there's still a lot of really good players,
and they're finding players like Brock Bowers,
who we didn't think was going to be a player
at the beginning of the season,
where, you know, Ladd-McConkie,
like we didn't think he was going to be a player
because we saw this receiving court,
and obviously they get all injured.
If even some of those guys come back,
this is as nasty as a team as I think we've seen her in a while.
Yeah, I say it all time.
Only for them to lose 21-0 to Alabama
in the SEC championship, just like LSU did.
That's the hump they got to get over.
That's the hump they got to get over.
But my last question for you, Seth, is one that people have been talking about since they saw it.
I thought the committee got it right.
Oklahoma, what's your feel on Oklahoma at 8?
I'm just still not, I just don't know how you can struggle with Kansas and then look me in the eyes and tell me you're elite.
I just, I don't believe that.
No, I think 8 is the right spot for them.
And it was still surprising.
I'm sure you were still surprised when they came up at 8.
Because they are.
Agreed.
Of course.
I think this is one of the things they got right because they just haven't looked good.
Now, I am kind of bullish on them going forward because Caleb Williams has been so much better than Spencer Rattler has been this year.
And obviously, the defense is, don't even going to be starting on the defense.
But at least the offenses, you would imagine, is going to start scoring some points.
And Caleb Williams will get some more plays under his belly continue to grow.
So you're excited for what they can be going forward.
With that said, I mean,
I mean, I still think they're going to win the Big 12 and go in the feet.
Like, I don't know who can deal with them.
I love what Baylor is doing this year.
Oklahoma State a little, I'm going to say,
a little, little tiny, tiny bit fraudulent to me,
but I really like what Bailey is doing.
I just don't think any of those teams are going to beat Oklahoma.
So we're going to be in a situation.
I think this is going to be great that an undefeited Oklahoma team is going to have to move up
four spots in the next few weeks, and we don't see that happen that often.
Yeah.
No, it's true.
It's a great point.
But Seth, man, great stuff.
Got to get you back on again, man.
Tell everybody where they can find your work.
I know you guys at PFF are doing a really good job over there.
Y'all really dig into the numbers.
Like this isn't like, hey, they're running the ball good.
They're passing the ball good.
It's like, hey, the left tackle tied his shoes three times in the third quarter last game.
It's some really good stuff y'all got going.
Yeah, that's a specific thing that I chart.
I chart shoe tying.
The shoe tying.
Nice.
Very lucid.
It's attendance.
Very lucid.
The shoe companies are going nuts.
Yeah, PFF.com and I host a podcast where we talk about college and NFL scheme related stuff, X's and O's and just general football.
So the too high podcast.
So yeah, check it out.
Yeah, I love that name.
That's a great name.
You guys did great on that.
But I really appreciate it, Seth.
Thank you, my friend.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.

Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.

Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Seth Kalina, PFF.
Very interesting with the two-year.
I can't get on board, man.
I can't either.
Those takes were all over the place.
I mean, first of all, he's saying that the committee used the eye test for Oklahoma and got that one right.
But they shouldn't have used an eye test with Cincinnati, and we should just grandfathered Cincinnati in because of what they've done over a two-year span.
Same thing I just railed against.
Say what you were.
Look, it's easy to, like, knock the committee, just like it is any institutional power, right?
But over the course of this 14th playoff, they've gotten it right, almost.
every time, save for maybe a one-lossed Texas A&M team should have probably been over a
Notre Dame. They should have. But that year was a COVID year with half the schedule and even that
Notre Dame team beat Clemson. But Notre Dame was in the ACC that year. That's exactly right.
And they beat Clemson once the first time. See, and that's how you get there though.
But say for that, four picks over a course of what is it now, seven years, eight years, something like
that. I mean, they've gotten it right most of the time using the eyeball test. And if,
if their goal is like he says, which is they just want the most top.
rated blue blood teams to make it so that they can make the most money, which I don't
necessarily disagree with. But just so happens that those are the best teams a lot of times
who we want to see compete against each other. So he's saying that Oregon would destroy
Cincinnati, right? But still we should have Cincinnati in there in the top four.
Well, to me, it's the same argument. It's like you don't win an Oscar for being on Nickelodeon,
man. You know what I'm saying? That's not how it works. Everybody loves the feel good story.
They just love them feel good story. Which is what? An emotional decision.
Like, which you can't have if we're going to have the best teams play against each other.
Because what's the goal of this whole thing?
To put the four best teams that have a chance to win it in there.
Now, if Alabama loses two games, that's a different story.
It is different.
It's a different story.
We're not saying to take, wow, well, you know, Alabama lost two or three games,
but we know how good their players are.
That's not what I'm saying.
I've agreed with you on this.
Yeah.
If Alabama has one loss and they're the second, our third best team of the country,
you put them in over an undefeated team like a Wake or a Cincinnati.
because they haven't played anybody, and you don't know what you don't know.
Until the number of losses get to a point that you can no longer justify it, right?
If Alabama, if we look and we're just doing an eye test and we're like, look, Alabama's lost three games this season because they play in the toughest division,
but they're still the second best team in the country.
At some point, I'm sorry, you can't put them in there.
If Oklahoma goes unbeaten in a Power 5 conference and Oregon only loses one and has a win at Ohio State by two touchdowns,
you have to put those teams in there.
I've been agreeing with you on this the whole time.
I test matters most until you start to incorporate things like strengths of schedule,
which has to matter, and head-to-head and number of losses eventually need to overweigh the eye test, right?
I agree with you 100%.
I agree with you 100%.
Yeah, you know, I kind of think about this sometimes because the ACCC,
what if you put Clemson that logo over, you know, over Wake Forest?
And I saw someone say in the chat, you know, where you think Clems would be?
If they were undefeated with Wake Forest's schedule, with the Clemson brand behind it,
you think Clemson would be in that top four?
Yes.
Yes.
I think they would.
Yep.
Oh, in the top four?
No, I think Clemson, if Clemson was undefeated in the ACCC the way it is right now,
because I'm trying to remember what Clemson was ranked preseason.
Yes, and it also matters how they've been winning, right?
Like, would they be undefeated the way that they've been the last few years where they're dominating everyone?
Then yes.
Well, Clemson wouldn't give up 50 to Army, I can promise you that.
Like the way that Clemson would win, in my opinion, with the players that we've seen,
and I'm going off what we've seen.
And this year is an anomaly, in my opinion, for Clemson.
I think they're going to be back.
They missed on the quarterback and a couple offensive linemen.
But to me, you can't say, all right, tape this logo over a team and all right, it's the same thing.
To me, the way I look at it is, number one, those two teams are going to get to play.
That's great.
But Clemson has proven that they have been elite.
It's a trust factor.
It's a trust factor.
It's a trust factor.
Now, if Clemson's undefeated, I'm going to tell you guys right now, they'd have Clemson the top four.
Forge. Oregon wouldn't be in the top four.
Yes.
To answer your question, it would be, they may be higher than Wake is right now.
but right now doesn't matter so much.
Look, the committee just has to put something out, right?
Now, one question I had for you is...
It doesn't mean you don't get it right, but you don't get it right,
but we have to understand there's so many games left, including that one.
Wake's going to get to play Clemson, right?
And I mean, so there's so many games left, especially when we're talking about rival.
This is the greatest month of the year, right?
I mean, Thanksgiving around the corner, rivalry reek around the corner.
Well, I wanted to ask you is if the committee, if they were saying,
look, there's no more football this season.
We can't see Oklahoma and Oklahoma State play.
can't see, you know, what Wake Forest is going to do the rest of the season or Michigan, Ohio, or even the Iron Bowl.
Do you think the committee would have, what the top 10 would look exactly like it is now, if they
were having to pick four teams to go to the playoff right now, right this second? Would it look like this?
Or is this just the one where the committee is saying, look, this is how we should put it right now,
understanding that one and two will probably have to play each other, right? We know that three and five are going to have to play each other.
we know that five and seven are going to have to play each other.
Is there some of that going on with this too?
In my opinion, if the season ended right now,
and they had to pick a top four right now with the season ending.
You can say, oh, well, they just put out a top 12, this, that and the other.
I think, and this goes back to the Oregon thing that I said earlier,
I think they are setting the stage for some of the rest of these teams down the road.
But if they pick the top four right now, I think you'd have Georgia, I think you'd have Alabama,
I think you'd have Michigan State, and I think you'd have Ohio State.
Gotcha.
I think those are the top four.
I agree.
Gotcha.
I think those are the top four.
We got a donation.
Yeah, I got a couple.
All right, hit them real quick, and we're going to bring Jeffrey Lee in here.
Okay, we're going to fill the gap in a little bit.
$5 donation from Garth Cassidy.
Garth Cassidy says, Jay Boy, talking about Notre Dame, who wouldn't Georgia boat race by 40?
Also look at the scores in Oklahoma's schedule.
I don't think that Georgia would boat race Alabama by 40.
I don't think that Georgia would boat race Ohio State by 40.
I don't think Georgia would beat Michigan State.
by 40. My thing with Notre Dame is when I watch Notre Dame, and when I watch these games,
I don't go into the game early in the year saying, oh, well, I don't, you know, I'm not a
fan of this or I'm not a fan of that, or I don't like these guys or these guys pissed me off
the past. I'm watching and seeing, and I'm watching the personnel.
Notre Dame to me, number one, and you can say what you want about Jack Cohn, I thought
he's done a good job. He's not elite. They have an elite running back, in my opinion.
But Notre Dame, to me, up front, isn't good enough. And they haven't been good enough. And they haven't
been good enough. And that's just the bottom line. I'm sorry, Notre Dame has had really good skill
players. But there's a lot of great skill players running around the Sunbelt right now. There's a lot
of great skill players running around the American right now. Hell, there's a lot of great skill players
running around about six high schools here in Georgia. I could go out of here and find that are
probably going to be playing the SEC. Where Notre Dame loses is up front. Because you don't,
not that you don't have one or two horses, you don't have a stable.
And Georgia would just smush you like a fat kid sitting on a sack lunch.
And if you look at the scores on Oklahoma schedule, I love the question, Garth.
I love this debate.
I love the question.
And if you look at the scores on Oklahoma schedule, I mean, it's not really that sexy.
Because there's one that stands out to me.
Couple.
Tulane?
You beat Tulane by five.
You beat Tulane by five at home.
Toledo by three?
Like, it's, you know.
One more point so we don't come off as contradictory.
And you're thinking about Notre Dame.
I'm talking about Oklahoma.
Yeah.
Well, okay.
So both of those schools, right?
Because we've already said that there is a certain trust factor when it comes to teams like a Clemson or in Alabama
because we know what we're going to get if you were to put them in the top four or in a top six scenario or a bowl game or whatever, right?
We've said that.
But at the same time, we don't want to come off as for Oklahoma and Notre Dame.
We've seen them make the playoff a lot of times and not do anything there when they get there.
So therefore, we want to discriminate against them this year and say they shouldn't make it.
That's not what we're saying.
No, not at all.
Not at all.
Not at all.
And this is why people tune into this show, because the three of us, we know football well enough that if you were to just switch the teams between Georgia and Notre Dame right now, we'd say, wow, Notre Dame looks different this year.
That's exactly right.
And we'd say, hey, hey, we know they've made the playoff and not done anything before, but this Notre Dame team is different than they deserve to be number one.
That's exactly right.
If they had Georgia's team and they were undefeated.
And if you notice, we don't sit here and pick on individual teams all the time.
I'm going to tell you what I think about the team that you.
year because I've said Notre Dame is a contender to make the playoff. Oklahoma is a contender to make
the playoff, but they have not been contenders to win anything in the playoff. And just like on one
hand, I'm going to say there's a trust factor for Clemson and that's great. Every year is different,
but when you prove to me, it's like us with the show. I'll give you a great example. It's like us
with the show. It's still relatively new. If I want to sell a sponsorship or we're trying to get a
sponsorship for the show and you go show a company one good year of downloads,
listens, whatever, that's great. You may get some money. But if I go show them four straight
years of not only growth, but excellence in numbers, I'm going to get more. And guess what?
They're going to give me the benefit of the doubt. Not because I deserve it, because I have earned it.
and those are two totally different things
and you're exactly right.
If Notre Dame looked like Georgia,
I'd be up here singing the praises of Notre Dame.
I'd be talking like Lou Holtz listening to the universe of Notre Dame.
It's the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.
Touchdowns these and left side of lens.
Don't have believed in C. Nobody believes in us.
I'd be up here talking Lou Holt's voice a whole time,
telling you how great Notre Dame was.
But guess what?
I live in the real world.
Not Dave Chappelle's mad real world, but the real world.
And speaking of the real world, let's bring it to real world.
Let's talk some recruiting.
Let's bring in Jeffrey Lee.
I'm going to go straight to that.
Yeah, let's go Jay Lee.
We'll do fill in the gap after.
Okay.
All right, everybody, let's talk a little bit of recruiting.
I told you it's going to be a recurring theme.
The further we get into this season,
going to be hitting many schools, SEC and more.
And who better to bring on than the best in the business?
Jeffrey Lee from Auburn Live,
that's the On-3 site that has been launched
and they're doing a really good job over there.
But Jeffrey Lee, Jay Lee, as I like to call them,
as they call them on the streets,
it's good to get you back on, brother.
Yeah, man, always good to be here, Jay.
for sure well let's get started i mean you know with success and and Auburn's kind of in that
honeyhole lane right now of being able to offer playing time while also showing success on the
field early in a new regime how are you just off the rip right here how are you seeing the
responses from some of the some of the big time guys that they're after i know drake bowen is a
guy everybody's paying attention to right now uh darius clemens as well kind of kind of what's
the reaction so far that you've been able to gauge from from the big time guys Auburn's going
after. A lot of encouraging signs really has been a lot of positive feedback, especially after
that Ole Miss game. When you go to Arkansas, you win, you come home after a buy week and you
flood the way they did against Ole Miss and have the recruits getting on campus. Man, that's what
big for Auburn, what's been big for Auburn is getting those guys on campus and then playing
well. So it's been a lot of encouraging signs for Auburn, especially handing into this last five to
six weeks of recruiting.
Still two more big home games left with a lot of pig time guys coming in for visits.
A lot of momentum going, you know, you go back to the summer when they had the camps and
the visits and Big Cat and there was no real momentum coming out of that.
There was no commitments and stuff.
But in the last two weeks, we've seen Drew Bobo commit.
We've seen Estin Harris commit.
We've seen a lot of guys come in for visits for that Ole Miss game.
And then Mississippi State and Alabama, both will be.
great timing as far as visits concerned heading into this last month before the early signing period.
Yeah, and you know, Jeffrey, you kind of look at what Auburn has left.
And a question I always like to talk about, do you think the success this year that
Harsen and them are showing so far, is it bigger for this class or is it bigger for the next
class after?
Because I think that's something a lot of people have to realize these relationships are getting
cultivated now while he's at Auburn.
They weren't being able to be cultivated before he was there or even.
while he was there early because of the pandemic.
Right.
Yeah, they didn't get people on campus until June.
So they were behind the A ball for a lot of this class.
And Auburn's done a good job of saying,
hey, they haven't conceded by any means the 2022 class,
but they've put more effort and more time into these 2023 relationships with these kids.
They've got, you know, we put a lot of our priority on covering the recruiting
or recruiting coverage on these 22 guys because it's immediate as now.
is what's going on right now.
But what gets kind of lost in the shuffle,
all these 2023 guys coming in for visits
and the relationships being born with these guys.
So I think the 2023 class,
if you're going to judge this staff on recruiting,
I think it's going to be in that 2023 class.
I agree 100%.
But speaking of the 22 class,
and that's what we've got to talk about right now
because there's going to be the guys
that are pulling the trigger and eventually sign
in what is now actually national signing day.
It's not the early signing period anymore.
I don't think we can call it that anymore.
You have National Signing Day and then the late signing period.
But I want to throw a couple names out there.
Darius Clemens, some people now saying he's going to Oregon,
you know, in some circles, this, that, and the other.
Where do you think Auburn stands with the big time wide receiver at a position they could really use?
I think last time I was on the show, Jake, maybe a week or two ago.
I liked Auburn's stance.
I liked what Auburn had done with Darius Clemens.
I would have said back then, Auburn, a slight margin.
Now I don't feel so confident.
you know, Oregon lost commitment to Oklahoma.
I think his name was Nicholas Anderson.
And the reason for my optimism and confidence level in Auburn up until now
was that Oregon hadn't prioritized him like Auburn had.
He was the number one guy on Auburn's board.
Auburn was treating him that way.
They were all over this kid.
Oregon was kind of slow playing.
They had their fill of receivers.
They really didn't need him.
And I think he kind of knew that,
which is why he was giving Auburn the attention that he was,
coming down for the season
open on his own dime.
So I think Auburn was the team to beat
until Oregon lost that receiver.
And I think Oregon's going to turn the heat back up on him.
And it's going to be hard to get him away from the in-state school.
It really is.
I mean, we're not talking about Tennessee or Georgia or Mississippi.
You know, we're talking about a kid from Oregon.
Yeah.
I think when the in-state school like that is in need
and they put the pressure on,
I think it's going to be tough for Auburn to overcome.
Now, in the same scenario, a different player, you know, you've got Justin Williams,
this four-star running back from Dallas, Georgia, who's committed to West Virginia.
Auburn hasn't offered him.
So it's kind of the same situation.
One guy on the corner today was saying, oh, man, Oregon can just slow play this kid and just come in late.
And I'm like, yeah, so can Auburn.
I mean, it goes both ways.
You know, Auburn's been slow playing this Justin Williams kid, four-star running back,
committed to West Virginia.
Cadillat went and saw him play last week.
He had almost 300 yards, total offense,
and came back in for another game,
came back in for the Ole Miss game,
and we'll be back for the Iron Bowl.
So it works both ways.
I'd say Auburn's confidence level,
and Darrys Clemens is dropping while confidence level
and Justin Williams is rising.
And I think whether or not Auburn looks to Justin Williams
to take in this class will depend solely on Chavante Citizen,
the running back from Louisiana,
who's committed to LSU.
who's coming in for the Iron Bowl.
But, you know,
Auburn doesn't want to take Williams before they see what Citizen does.
And there's a lot of flip-flopping going on right now.
A lot of these kids committed early because of COVID.
They didn't get visits.
They wanted to get their place in a class.
So a lot of these kids right now are already committed to schools.
And, you know, so Auburn's, you know, LSU, Florida State,
and Auburn's still recruiting a lot of these guys that are committed.
But as far as Clemens, I feel like a lot of confidence has been,
laws right now. Yeah, and it's hard to get a kid. Especially, I mean, Oregon's in the top four right now.
That doesn't help either when you're trying to get a kid from out there. I mean, they're all in the
news. They're in the top four in the college football playoff. But Jeffrey Lee, you talk about
Tramante Citizen. We obviously talk about Justin Williams as well. It was Virginia committed.
They're keeping an eye on. Who are a couple guys that Auburn fans can feel good about or maybe
you're looking around the corner? Because every time DeMarie Alston tweets, you know, you think some sort of
wave is coming. Right. Right. Right. I still like all.
Auburn's position with Tay Woody, the four-star defense of lineman from up the road in Lafayette.
He's committed to Florida State.
He's been to Auburn a couple of times.
He's coming back.
I think Auburn's lose.
I think there's some things off the field, maybe in the classroom with Tay that's kind of keeping Auburn back from making a big push at him.
I think if he gets things wrapped up in the class.
And I think he's really waiting on Auburn.
I don't think what we're seeing is him going, I think I want to stay with Florida State.
I think he's wanting to come to Auburn.
I think Auburn's just like, well, hang on, man.
prove to us that you're going to get it done in the classroom.
And if you do, you're coming.
We'll get it done.
I think Ted Woody, I think Justin Williams,
I think an offer from Auburn is all that's needed to change his commitment.
I really do.
I like where Auburn stands with him.
I talk to him after both of his visits this season.
And after the Ole Miss game, he was just like,
and he's such a good kid, too, man.
I don't know if you've ever had him on or talked to him, Jake.
I haven't had him on yet.
I need to.
He's awesome.
He is very good kid.
And so I think he's an Auburn type of kid, especially for Cadillac.
He reminds me a lot of him personally.
So I like Auburn's stance there.
I think Auburn with Antonio Williams, you know, you're losing ground with Darius Clemens
and potentially gaining ground over here in South Carolina from Antonio Williams, who's
going to come in to the Iron Bowl for an official visit.
I like Auburn's chances there.
I'm not predicting him to Auburn, but I love that Mike Bobo is his lead recruiter.
And I think Mike Bobo doesn't get a lot of the credit.
when it comes to recruiting that he deserves.
This cat, he can recruit, man.
He's well known as South Georgia, South Carolina.
Of course, his reputation up there.
He's done a great job with Antonio Williams.
Antonio Williams doesn't do interviews,
so you don't get a lot of information coming from his corner.
But Auburn likes where it stands with him,
and you can imagine the heat that they're going to turn up even more on him.
Now that Darius Clemmon seems to be slipping.
Some other guys, man, in-state linebacker from up.
in Huntsville area, North Alabama,
Duke Spurlock, committed to Michigan.
It's a great name.
Auburn.
He went on his official visit to Michigan,
trying to get into the game.
He went ahead and committed,
but I think he likes Auburn a lot.
I think Auburn's turned up the heat on him.
I expect to see him at Auburn
either next weekend for the Mississippi State game
for the Alabama game on an official visit.
And then the Marquis Gilbert,
the Jukes of Back who visited last weekend.
I like where Auburn stands with him.
I like where Auburn sits with Austin Osbury,
the cornerback from Louisiana.
A lot of guys I've got right now, like 50% are better shot coming to Auburn.
And I think by the time it's over with, a lot of Auburn beds are going to be very pleased with this class.
Yeah.
And, you know, a question that a lot, I just got a couple more here for you, Jay Lee.
A lot of people were worried about the methodology and the way that Brian Harsen was going to go about recruiting,
really without being in the building and understand exactly what's going on,
but kind of the developmental stuff like that.
You've been in this game a long time.
You've seen coaches come and go.
You've seen a lot of different methodologies.
Do you feel like Brian Harsen's methodology and the staff is going to be something that can work in the SEC?
And it always helps when you win.
There's a lot of different ways to skin the cat when you're winning.
Okay.
The whole rankings don't matter.
Stars don't matter.
Coaches, they do.
Historically, they do.
I guarantee you many coaches would swap in a heartbeat with the class that Alabama has
with Georgia Hass, and they're all high-ranked guys.
But I do like what he's doing as far as the fit and the culture
and the guys that he's bringing in that have to meet that standard.
Now, he's not just taking anybody.
I mean, these guys that he's got right now, you're talking about Marry Austin,
Holden Garner, Mike Bubb Drew Bovo, Eston Harris, Kobe, I mean, Kobe Albert.
They've got some really good players committed already,
and you go back to the summer, and they weren't really,
that elite
sexy brand yeah
right exactly sexy brand
but man then you see what they've done their senior years
Powell Gordon hell man look what he's been doing
look what he did against science
well see he's the kid
Powell Gordon I don't mean to cut you off Jayley
but Powell Gordon's the kid to me
that goes in signs with Stanford and you forget
about him and then three years later you look
and he's destroying everybody in the pack 12
and he goes in the first round and goes a place for the Niners
that's what he looks like to me
And he's all pro and plays 15 years.
That's exactly right.
Absolutely.
But so you look at what there wasn't much sexy going on back then.
But man, now you're seeing that these kids, their early evaluations is my point here.
Parsons and their early evaluations on these kids and they're turning out.
We haven't seen any commitments right now just having a so-so's in your season or, you know,
I don't know about this kid.
They've all been doing very well, man.
And they've all been at all the games.
They're recruiting.
Hell even Michael Michael Riley Duckers coming in from Nebraska for games.
Jay Fares coming in from Texas for games.
These kids are all close-knit.
They're doing what they can on the recruiting trail to help this class.
They're all good kids, man.
And they're all good players.
They're not at least three-star nobodies that Auburn beat out, you know,
South Alabama or Troy for.
These are all kids with SEC, ACC offers.
And they lived up to that the senior season.
So I like the methodology of what harcening in the.
these guys are doing. And I think I mentioned this last time, Jake, but they're not spinning their
tires on the five-star kid, you know, that's committed to Alabama. They're not. And I like that,
man. You know, we saw Gus Moss on his staff do that all the time, just, you know, thinking that
they're going to get one of these guys or a couple of these guys, and it never works out.
So what you do is, you know, you go building their relationships with these other guys, these
second-tier guys, if you want to call them that, and you're scoring there with them. So that part of it,
man, I really like it. I really like what he's got.
in the player eval as well as the personal eval of these kids.
Yeah, and man, I think you encapsulated that perfectly.
Tell everybody, Jay Lee, where they can.
I know you guys are always having great deals over there.
It's been a smash success ever since you guys started.
Tell everybody out there if they want to go get information on not only recruiting,
but Auburn football as well.
Hoke does a great job over there, Pink as well.
Tell everybody where they can find your work.
Yeah, Auburn Live on 3 is Auburn LiveOn3.com.
We've got our launch special going right now.
$1, no, $10 for an entire year.
It's less than $1 a month.
I'm not a mathematician, but that's even less than $1 a month.
$33 this month.
But yeah, man, with basketball recruiting, it's coming in.
The early period starts next week.
A lot of things going on with that.
Football recruiting, of course, and then Cole and Justin doing a great job with the team.
We've got it all covered.
All right, Jay Lee.
I appreciate it, brother.
Thanks for the time.
Appreciate you having me on, Jake.
Man, Jeff does a really good job.
Yeah, for sure.
And we're going to start putting in incremental recruiting updates as well.
We're going to get Billy Lucci and Texas A&M tomorrow.
Going to talk about obviously the game, but recruiting as well.
Jimbo kind of flipping the – was hot.
They lose a couple games.
The name's not as sexy anymore.
Then you flip the script.
You beat Bama, and you can see that they're rolling for, too,
even though they did lose Bear Alexander to Georgia,
who is about as close to a Jordan Davis clone as you're going to get.
Should we talk about recruiting while the season's going on, though?
That's the season.
That's right.
That's right.
Don't talk about that topic.
Let's move on.
Ask me after the season.
During recruiting season.
During recruiting season.
Your media, get out.
Your media, you get out.
Get out.
All right, Blan, I heard we got a donation.
Yes, M1 cent with a dollar 99 donation.
He says, hey, Jay, boy.
Let's get paid.
Love your show, and he says I'm also a sportscaster.
Nice, dude.
Hey, keep doing your thing, man.
Appreciate you checking us out.
Look, it's always respect.
This is our show.
this is the people show.
That's why I always try and make it as interactive as possible because, you know,
you can turn on the TV and watch anybody scream about topics and take hot takes and do all
this stuff.
But do you have the knowledge?
Are you able to interact and are you able to improvise and be impromptu while being knowledgeable?
I think that's the difference.
All right.
I want to get into fill in the gap.
Okay.
All right.
I like playing this game.
You ready?
Put and go, fill in the gap.
Let's do it.
Now, you don't know these in advance.
I don't know these in advance.
Speaking about improvising and impromptu.
We have our own group chat for this.
Yeah.
What's it called?
Like, oh, Jay Crane Stinks.
Yeah, great.
You're welcome.
That's one of four different group chats.
I didn't make it.
Yeah, sure, you didn't, Cohn.
That's legitimately right.
No, it's definitely my brother.
That was the runner-up name for the chat.
Wow.
What you probably said was worse, it wasn't stinks, but you didn't want to name the chat that.
That's probably what it was.
Okay, here we go.
The most overrated team in the rankings was.
I'm going to keep a top 10 right here.
I could make a case for Oklahoma, but Cincinnati at 6 to me.
They're in front of Oklahoma.
To me, I don't think Cincinnati's the sixth best team in the country.
I think that was a, hey, we're not going to put you in the top four.
We're not going to let you in the party, but you can hang out in the porch
and smoke some of the half-smoked cigarettes, and we'll bring you out a beer every now and then.
Just here you go.
Good job, Luke Fickle.
And guess what?
We won't have this problem when Cincinnati's in the Big 12 next year because they'll be able to handle business.
And we'll really find out.
Now, I don't think that transition is going to be all cookies and ice cream cake.
I promise you that.
Now, Miles Brinning goes over there.
You could see a little bit of changes.
I'm going to get to that in a second.
But I think it's Cincinnati at six.
You know, we had them an eight in our top ten.
I just, the way they're playing right now, I don't believe in it.
And I think SMU is going to beat them.
All right.
So the most underrated team in the top ten rankings is?
The most underrated team in the top ten rankings is.
I'm going to say Ohio State because they weren't in the top four.
I think Ohio State, like I said, if they played Oregon, who was ahead of them,
sure it's highly Notre Dame, but they played Oregon, who's ahead of them, and lost at home.
I get that.
I think Oregon loses the game, but I think Ohio State really has found something.
I know they didn't look perfect against Penn State.
C.J. Stroud is still learning, but defensively, to me, they've made a big jump.
I think they've simplified it, what we call addition by subtraction.
So even though they're at five, give me Ohio State.
Okay.
The next top 10 team to lose will be who?
Oh, Oklahoma.
I look.
Maybe this weekend.
Dave Randa.
Dave Randa can come up with a defensive game plan now.
He can come up with a defensive game plan.
But it's funny if you watch Dave Randa, his team is like this.
They're like he is.
If you watch Dave Randa on the Island, he does not get emotional.
You think he's a robot.
He's just literally just going through it.
And his team, the way I've seen it, never gets too high or never gets too low.
and you don't see them over celebrating and doing much of crazy stuff,
they just go out there and handle business.
And that is the worst type of team that Oklahoma can play right now.
That is the worst style of team that Oklahoma can play.
So give me Oklahoma fall into the Bears of Baylor.
The next coach at TCU should be who?
Man, and I don't think he'd leave, but if I was TCU,
there's two guys that I would go after.
Sunny Dykes, everybody's going to say that.
That's boring.
We know Texas Tech 2 and all that stuff with Matt Wells leaving.
Give me Billy Napier, which I don't know if he would go, are Jamie Chadwell.
Or if you're really about it, if you're really about it, go throw some bread to coach freeze.
What about what about little Jeff Levy?
See, I like that.
You know who I feel like Jeff Levy be a great fit for?
Texas Tech.
I feel like they'd be a great fit.
I feel like Jeff Lee would be a great fit.
That's a great name drop there.
But if you're TCU, you went to Crambrook.
It's a private school.
Y'all got money?
Go get Hugh Freeze.
Y'all want to be high flying?
Y'all want to be relevant?
Y'all want to have a chance to Texas going to the SEC.
Uh-oh.
Oklahoma's going to the SEC.
Uh-oh.
Y'all need to make a move.
Need to make a splash.
Hugh Freeze will make that splash.
That's a great question.
If you had a pet monkey.
You would name it what?
Pole assassin.
Pol assassin.
Naturally.
Easy.
Easy.
Love it.
All right.
I like that filling the gap.
Blaine,
what do we got?
Yeah, a couple donations here.
We got a donation from Eric, our fellow organ fan.
Oh, he's loving the Oregon talk.
$6.69 donation.
Your donations are funny, Eric.
Yeah.
It says, Chris the ball or Tucker in a fight.
Then Michigan State versus Oregon Neutrofield,
give me your picks.
Quack, quack.
look if Mel Tucker fought Mario
Mel Tucker ain't losing man
look give me Mario
I don't know Mario
Mario's got that super sane
you can see it comes
Mario's kind of like the
not the quiet
intimidating guy but he's not really
rambunctious and super loud but when
it comes out when
the dragon comes out
the dragon comes out now Mel Tucker
Mel Tucker in the little
guy yeah Mario's the type of guy
He's in the back room.
We look at him.
He looks at you,
he says,
well,
you rather be feared than love.
That's exactly.
Mario Crisp is a guy
you walk in and you see sitting
at the end of the restaurant
with like dim light
and like a suit on
and you're just like,
guys,
something's going on over there.
Don't want to walk over there.
I think they should both come on the show
and let's talk about it.
How about they fight on the show?
Let's do it.
Let's set it up.
Paper view.
Paper view.
Let's have one of fight Jake Paul.
I'm so ready to see that dude get knocked out.
Stop putting the ring.
I'll fight him.
We got another donation.
and a $5 donation from Garth Cassie.
Gar's been hot today.
Gar's been hot today.
He says, hey, Jaybo, where do you think Bowen is going tonight to recruit?
Bowen Bowen?
He is deciding tonight at 9 o'clock.
I think it's Notre Dame, honestly.
I think it's Notre Dame.
That's one.
I'm not super connected to that one, but, you know, me and Jeffrey that kind of hit it in it.
Really didn't go too far into it.
I'd be surprised if he chose Auburn.
But I want to go back to Eric's question because I didn't answer the second one.
Michigan State versus Oregon, neutral field.
Michigan State
31-20.
Or it's just not the same team without
C.J. Verdele, they're not. It's just not the same team, man.
Look, look, you take Ringo, you take Ringo out of the band.
Yeah.
You know, it's not the same band.
Justin Timberlake wants to go solo.
But if there was one beetle who could be replaced, I think Ringo, right?
Man, I got to give Ringo love. They never give Ringo love.
It's always Paul McCartney. It's always these other guys. Ringo's back behind the scenes.
Just, just do it.
in his fighting. George Harrison was the best
beetle, but, you know, we're college football.
We'll talk about it.
We'll get, we don't want to get back.
You know, we think about a lot of things.
Okay, well, I'm sorry.
I do want to say this too.
I do want to say this too.
I am getting, I have been told
by a former high level SEC
coach that there is
a very strong possibility that
Miles Brennan ends up at Ole Miss.
So we sell.
Here's the question.
Lane Stan. No, see, okay,
this is 3D thinking.
See, let me finish.
This is how crazy college football is and how crazy this transfer portal is.
So obviously, while Lane's at Ole Miss, and if he stays at Ole Miss, it'd be a great coup for them.
But it's so interesting watching coaches try and recruit guys, whether it's high school kids, kids in the portal, Juco kids, when their names being thrown everywhere for these jobs.
It makes it a lot tougher, but on the other hand, it makes you look pretty good, too.
You want to be wanted.
Everybody wants to be wanted.
So I think right now while Lane's there, I still think there's a good chance he ends up at LSU.
But while Lane's there.
And I'm telling you guys, if Lane leaves, Leby's the guy.
And Ole Miss is almost still as scary.
I'll tell you guys right now.
Because Leby and the Manning family are like this.
They're like this.
So I'm just telling you, if Lane leaves, don't leave Ole Miss for dead.
Don't leave him for dead.
What else we got?
We had another booster drop a name in here for the TCE.
job and he said what do you think about Kendall Bryles?
Gosh, man, I would not be upset at that higher at all.
I wouldn't.
I love that name drop.
Kendall's time is coming.
It's close, but I think it's after next year.
Because we have to remember some of these guys.
And Kendall Bryles is the son of art briles.
I know there's off the field stuff, but they know how the coaching game goes.
They know their worth and they know building equity.
And a lot of these coaches are smarter nowadays and they're not good.
Billy Napier is a great example.
Jimmy Chadwell is a great example.
They're not going to waste all the equity that they've built up until they get the right job.
Kirby Smart is a perfect example.
Perfect example.
So while I think that's right, I think Kendall's year is two years from now.
I don't think it's after this season.
But speaking of this season, five and two last night, 122 and 85 overall.
A clean 60%.
It's a bread festival around here.
60% of the time it works every time.
100%.
Got some more match in tonight.
Two games.
Two games.
I've brought out the notepad of truth.
And I would like to tell everybody
since I started using this notepad right here.
You're welcome.
Nine and two.
Two and no.
See if we can't add to the list.
Here's what I got tonight.
It's a battle of the directional schools in Michigan.
Well, two of them.
Central Michigan.
Michigan and Western Michigan.
The Centrillions versus the Westonians.
I don't think that's right.
Give me the under at 64.5.
Both these teams run the ball well,
which means both defenses are going to be amped up to stop the run,
which means the clock is going to run.
And I believe one of these teams
literally averages almost 37 minutes of time of possession.
Western Michigan?
That's an under.
That makes me feel so much better about the under.
So give me under 64.5.
And it is Western Michigan.
Northern Illinois, Kent State.
Give me the under 71.5.
It's under season.
Under Under Day, huh?
Under Thunder.
Join the party.
Or be lame.
This is what I'm taking.
I went one in one yesterday.
You had a bad beat in a game.
Bad beat at the end.
But is there any beat worse than the Clemson beat last week?
I don't know.
This one felt pretty bad.
You didn't have that one, did you?
No.
None of us had it.
But you don't know how bad it was.
I didn't have it.
And it hurt me.
Yeah, I feel it.
We watched it live.
Yeah, we watched it live.
We watched it.
It was during the live stream.
We were holding each other.
It was a review.
We were holding each other like a plane.
They reviewed it.
Yeah, they know how important it is.
Somebody was like, listen, guys, I know the game is over, but we got to make sure he scored.
And didn't kick the PAT.
Robert De Niro just called me.
We got to make sure that.
And that, the six from the touchdowns was what covered.
Imagine if you needed the PAT, but the game was already over.
But also imagine if you had Clemson was it minus nine and a half?
Imagine if you had that and you were left for dead.
You left them for dead.
You changed the chair.
There was a lot of happy and upset people.
What if that was the last leg of like a huge, somewhere out there in the world.
Somebody had the last leg of a parley, Clemson minus nine and a half.
Come tell us about it.
And if that happened to you, and you have to prove it.
You have to prove it.
You can't just make it up.
But if you're going to make it up, it better be a really good story.
All right, Blaine, what are you got?
I'm taking Northern Illinois plus three and a half against a can't say team.
Northern Illinois is running the ball.
And they do, they're a great second-in-the-ball.
It's a good thing.
And they lost their starting back, like, their guy.
Freshman, I believe it's a true freshman.
In October.
They're plus three and a half right now.
They're plus three and a half right now.
Ken State, high-powered offense, not really good.
Stopping the run on defense.
I'm going to take Northern Illinois plus three and a half in this game.
And I'm going to take the, I'm going to double up with you here.
I'm going to take the Central Michigan, Western Michigan under for the first half at
34 and a half.
Both these teams run the ball.
And I feel good about Bote's best.
I think both these is going to hit.
So, I mean, you need five, they need five touchdowns for you not to hit.
That's hard to do in the first half.
Yeah.
Can I say something real quick before we get to yours cone?
I don't know it's a runtime.
Is it just me or when I'm watching the game clock in some of these games?
Does the time tick slower and faster?
Did you see the Toledo?
There's nothing that makes me matter than picking it over and under and watching people mess up the clock on every play.
The ball after a first down, the clock shouldn't start until that ball is set on the ground by the referee.
We've watched it.
We've documented this.
us afraid to say this because I know it's a math problem but I feel like there's a few ways to
like help yourself out and I look I'm not saying I'm not a conspiracy theorist I'm not but something's
going on yeah and it's different I'm not on a river but something smells fishy yeah that's exactly
I'll tell you what's going on I've never heard that before what's going on okay what's going
on central Michigan tonight plus nine and a half at Western all right lock it in that's only one I got
you're going one tonight hey Eastern Eastern Eastern Big Eastern one outright at Toledo
So did Ohio.
You went two and one last time.
Yeah, you did.
Give me Central tonight on the road.
You won't get hot again.
Big comeback week for you, Dave.
Did you not see the book?
I mean, it came straight from the book.
Dude, you made that new page too.
Yeah.
That new page?
Right.
I did.
I did.
He got a new book.
I got a new page.
Wow.
Let's go Central.
Let's think Chippewaz maybe.
I don't know what you said, but real quick, got a $5 don't know from the DGG podcast.
You know what they get.
He says, what's causing all this?
I believe.
some booster in the chat are going at it about Georgia.
Really?
Yeah.
What's going on?
What's the argument?
I think it's the Green Soldier.
Oh, green soldier.
He gets into it.
And someone else going at it.
Well, what's it about?
Can you kind of get, can you paraphrase?
It's been going on for a while.
Really?
It's been a marathon argument, huh?
I think it's a little, a little, can Georgia lose a game?
You know, what's Georgia's really best win?
You know, going like that.
If Georgia loses the SEC championship game and they go there and defeat it, they're still going
the playoff, all in that argument right now.
But look, Georgia's played some good team.
If you just watch the human beings that Georgia has, if you can't.
Are they human?
I don't know. Not on defense.
I need a blood test.
Monstars.
Monstars.
They're playing against LeBron and Bugs Bunny and Space Jam 9, back to reality,
whatever it is called.
But all right, we appreciate you guys.
Anything else from the booster club, Blaine?
No, I believe we're good, guys.
Hey, I love it.
There's nothing more that gets me excited when the booster club are going at each other.

Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all,
