Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the Look Back at it podcast. For 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Starting point is 00:02:13 The volume. Welcome back to the Richard Sherman podcast. I got my guy Joe Mixing in here joining with me. I appreciate you taking your time today. You just had your five tug game. You got to be feeling good. It was a nice bounce back game for you. What changed?
Starting point is 00:02:33 Yeah, I think it was mainly the approach in terms of obviously me being in a zone, the lineman, they was firing off the ball and me trusting in, you know, they're going to make that big block. And also the receivers and tight ends, you know, them guys, it was over there, you know, getting down and dirty, especially Trent Taylor with the point block, Trent ain't nothing but five feet small. Like, literally, hey, one thing about him, he going to get in there and get in somebody, man. So I feel like, you know, them boys was all downed in. And the best thing about it was Coach Taylor kept calling them up. So we was there to deliver. That's awesome, man. And did you ever think about going back in and trying to get six?
Starting point is 00:03:16 Hey, man, to be real, I didn't even know that was the record until they told me once I was done on the sideline. I'm like, man, hold on. Let me go back in to go get me. Hey, they was like, nah, you're done. I'm like, man, all right, whatever, but it's good. Right, right. After that, I'm like, you know what? I know at some point, we hope to get it again.
Starting point is 00:03:37 I mean, it's only a certain amount of people who've done it. Like, you know, so that don't happen every often. You know what I'm saying? Every so often. So at the end of the day, if I'm in that situation again, I know for a fact, I'm like, bro, I don't get that. Coach, it will be sending you, wave them off. I know, I got the- I ain't trying to hear that, bro.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I'm going back in. It's history, baby. No, for real. So it felt good. Joe Burrough said this is the first complete game of the year. How is it with him? You know what I mean? He seemed like a really cool cat.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Yeah, no, Joey B. He everything, you know, everybody already know about him. You know what I'm saying? And, you know, I don't want to, you know, say stuff that everybody already know. Right, right. I mean, my favorite thing about Joey B is, I mean, the guy personality since he came in, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:26 day one has always been, you know, very welcome. and as a person. And he ain't arrogant. He's one of them guys. Like, you would think he, like, a receiver or a running back the way that he acts. And that's one thing that I love and the fact that when you take a, when you take the huddle with that, like, with that guy, like, one thing about him, like, he never fall under pressure. No matter how big the moment get, like, you can see, like, I remember going into when we
Starting point is 00:04:52 played the Chiefs in the playoffs, like, AFC championship. Like, them guys was coming. Like, it was like Chris Jones, Frank. Clark, it was coming. Like, I'm like, man, we like, Joy B, like, you gotta make some shape. Hey, Joy B, like, hey, look, he's like this. He's calling the huddle. He's like, look, if that shit ain't there, he's like, man,
Starting point is 00:05:12 I'm about to just take off and go get it. Hey, look, hey, I'm telling you, like, y'all see the other side, but look, I'm giving you the real Joey B. Like, he, he's going to tell you what he's going to do. So, man, I tell you, like, in the moments, it's so loud. you got to be so locked in, and we're listening to him. And he's saying a play super clear, but, you know, some guys in certain moments, like they eyes super big, like, they're, like, panicking almost.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Like, the moment, like, it's too much. But, man, with him, like, he cool, calm, and collected. Like, he literally going to sit in that pocket. And if he don't sit in the pocket, he's going to take off and make some shake. So that's my favorite thing about Joy B, you know, other than the person is his poor. That's one thing I love about it. That got to be calming for you as a player because he's your leader. If he panicked, even if you're trying to be, everybody going to be.
Starting point is 00:06:10 For sure. I mean, like I said, bro, like one thing about him, he going to sit up in that pocket, cool, calm, and collected. And if you run him out, that's, it might, you know, backfire on you because he always make a play when he scramble out. So I feel like one thing in this game that's very, underrated that people don't really talk about is the way that, you know, he uses his legs. He can go run for the first down or he could go, you know, scramble and make a throw to somebody,
Starting point is 00:06:38 you know, somebody going to be open downfield. Right, right. And he got all the arm talent in the world and you got all the receivers. I mean, they don't give Higgins enough respect. Maybe sitting there like, oh, he'll receiver too. Right. Real talk. I'm talking like Randy.
Starting point is 00:06:53 All right, for real. He'll take the top off too. And then TB, he would cut you up all in the middle. And he didn't prove he could take the top of us. So really, you've got to pick your poison on what you want to do. You can't stop it. You just only hope to contain it. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Come on now, talk. I'm talking to talk. Hey, real talk. I'm telling you, that's just what it is. So tell me about Callahan, man, because, you know, obviously he had, you know, he wanted you to protect a little better. You answered the bail. How is it working with him day in and day out, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:22 Yeah, Callahan. I mean, I love playing for Callahan, bro. Like, he always be real with you. like no matter what, whether it's something that you need to hear or whether you should hear. Like, he's going to always keep it real to tell you what's up. And the best thing about it for me, you know, I'm glad, you know, as you mentioned earlier, like answering the bill of being able to pass protect and being in great position with them linebackers and whether it's a nickel or safety picking them guys up.
Starting point is 00:07:50 And then also delivering in the past the receiving game and, you know, balling in the run game, bro. So one thing that he harked on on Saturday morning was he came in on one. I don't know if it was coffee. He said he ain't have much sleep, I guess because he's dealing with his daughter, but he was like, man, he was like my daughter. She's a young kid and sick and he just, he ain't had much sleep. But he came in on one Saturday morning, I was loving it. It's one of the conversations where you listening to him and you locked in like, hell yeah. Coach, like, I'm with you, bro. Like, it's that time. definitely. And like he, he definitely came in on fire and literally everything that he talked about
Starting point is 00:08:32 in that meeting, which was either getting four and a half yards of carry no matter what, or having five, you know, yards after the catch, no matter what, he definitely spoke all of that stuff into existence. And, you know, Sky was the limit for us. He was definitely a balanced attack, bro. So we just only hope to get, you know, better and build on top of that. Bro, y'all definitely going to build on top of that. You got the experience. You've got championship pedigree now. You know what I mean? That's something you can't get without being in those dog fights,
Starting point is 00:09:01 being in that game with Kansas City that you talked about, being in the Super Bowl, like it gives you a different kind of like, hey, y'all want to go toe for tall. I know what 12 rounds are like. Real talk. No, that's no cap. We definitely built for that for sure.
Starting point is 00:09:14 No question. And your coaches are, your owner know about it? Like, the worst part about it is seeing that AFC championship ring. Like, that probably, oh. that's look when i seen that i'm like i mean it's cool like it's an accomplishment but it ain't i want that big thing you know what i'm saying like you know not many people you know be able to be in that position you know what i'm saying i mean you have like you know you got the patience like they didn't
Starting point is 00:09:43 they like set the standard on how a lot of stuff should be ran you know what i'm saying and they didn't have a lot of success obviously because of tom brady and a company that he keep with his, you know, receivers and he always had a great defense. But I felt like, you know, those things, they don't come around often. You know what I'm saying? And you can never take them for granted. But one thing about us, like, the best thing about it is we got the same talent and same people that are still here in this locker room.
Starting point is 00:10:15 And the only thing about it is we've been there before we know how to get there. We just got to go through the process, man. And you can't cheat it. You just got to go through it. You know, win each week and just execute, bro, and then little stuff, take care of the big things, which will lead us back there, hopefully. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win.
Starting point is 00:11:04 A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
Starting point is 00:11:20 And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, the Clifford Show. Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
Starting point is 00:12:12 I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jek. And I'm Alex English. We pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so you all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really?
Starting point is 00:12:55 Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Fandul.com. Gambling problem, call 1-800 gambler. I'll tell you this, because they always say the second time is harder to get back. Like, it's not necessarily it.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Harder, it's just you know better. You know, the first time you go, you don't know no better. You're like, I'm out here, like, whatever. You know what I take? Like, going back to the second time, you know what it takes. to get there. So you sit there battling and you're like, bro, this, we know what this is. Let me take this deep breath. What it's going to be?
Starting point is 00:14:27 Like, wipe this blood off my lip? And like, we're going to dance. And, but, man, I'm excited for y'all. What, if you could go back in time, because running backs is, you know, they're not the most appreciated position in the national football league. Would you still play? Would you still play it? I mean, I love what I do, bro.
Starting point is 00:14:51 You know what I'm saying? I mean, since I was 10 years old, my first position was quarterback, and it could have worked out. But obviously, as you know, you got coaches, sons that's playing and all that. So my dad ended up telling me, you know what, like, just go to running back. Like, you build for it. Like, why not? And I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:15:10 Like, he was like, and you touched the ball every play. So you'd be all right. And I was like, for real? He's like, yeah. So I was like, all, cool, I'm going to try it out. So literally, first scrimmage, literally they converted me to day before the scrimmage to running back. First scrimmage, ticket to the crib, like 50s.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I'm like, hey, from that point, it was over with. I was convinced I'm a running back. But like I said, man, I mean, obviously, as you know, in this game, we are unappreciated. But at the same time, like, the ones that are appreciated, they know between a great running back and just a running back. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, you got a couple guys in this league that could definitely, you know, pride themselves on being the top guy. And then even the guys that's in the mid-pack, they could, you know, have that argument, they're in the same thing.
Starting point is 00:15:58 You know what I'm saying? So it's a lot of great running backs in the league. And I'm just glad everybody doing their thing and making the running back position more valuable again. Well, because you're running it, you're toting it. Hey, impact. I'm out here. And you're receiving it. And you're receiving it.
Starting point is 00:16:14 You know what I mean? You can line up out there. What was your favorite play as like a receiver running back? Is it just like the Texas or you want to get out there and run a post or something? Hey, I ain't going to lie to you, Sherman, bro. I'll be telling my coach, put me on a fake. Hey, look, hey, I'm like, man, let me run a post. I can do it.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Hey, I'm telling you. I tell Callahan all the time, you like, bro, let me run a post. Let me run a fade. Like, let me do something. Like, I got coach. Like, come on, bro. Like, I got hands, bro. Like, quit playing.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Like, you know what's going on with me. Like, and he just sit there and laugh. Like, you know, we're going to draw something up for you. You know what I'm saying? And shit, like yesterday, like Joe, the other day or yeah, yesterday, he was like, man, I'm like, hey, we're going to go anything. He's like, yeah, so he got out to play. He's like, I'm like, what you want me to run?
Starting point is 00:17:02 I'm like, I forgot. Like, quit. I'm like, what you want to run? He's like, man, run in fade. I'm like, Ben. Hey, look, I ran in fade, right? Right. And all of a sudden, the corner like, Joey B.
Starting point is 00:17:14 he's about to scramble. So, corner, like, lashed off. And then once he figured out, like, he was about to throw it, I, like, spent. And then he threw it. I'm like, oh, Teddy. Hey, look, after that, I'm like, see, I told you, Callie. You're going to put playing.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Oh, look, keep downing that dang up, man. Like, I'm a weapon, bro. Put playing. Go home now. It's on tape. Hey, I'm telling you straight up. Hey, I was telling them all the time. Like, come on, brother.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Like, let me play quarterback. Let me do all of that. Just a little. a mix-up though. I ain't got to do it all the time. I ain't taken away from all the talent that we got over here. It's just that if I could do it and shit, why not? You know what I'm saying? Why not? Hey, look, look, Jay Chase is out. You know what I mean? You got a little boost. They're doubling T. Higgins. They got bored on the record. I got you. I got you. I love it, man. I love it. It's got to be fun, man. That offense seems like it's real
Starting point is 00:18:08 fun to play it. Hey, it is. I mean, just the just the personality or receivers that we got, bro, you know, me and my personality fit right in with them. And then you got Joey B. He, like, got a mixture of all of us. So, I mean, it's really a great thing to see, bro. Like, in the chemistry that we got, I think a lot of stuff that be happening on the fly, especially with celebrations to be exact. Like, we just, we right there with it.
Starting point is 00:18:34 And, you know, it's just everything come click and everybody be right there with it, celebrating. So it would be lit, bro. We be having a good time, though. bro, like, that's what you, that's what it takes. It don't really matter what your record is, getting the tournament, you know what I mean? Make sure you're getting the tournament,
Starting point is 00:18:49 and anything can shake, you know what I mean? That's all that matter. You just got to get there. And then from there, you're just playing football. Like, you don't look at it more like you've got to have this much bet. Like, the only thing that really changed is really your focus, your mental focus and executing. Other than that, you're going to go ball no matter what.
Starting point is 00:19:08 It's the rise of the occasion. And you're going to rise if you're a player. Right. And it's like, it's everybody know your stuff. Like, you ain't going out there surprised of nobody. Like, they know your stuff. Can you execute better than they can stop it? They say, at that point, it's not about the exes and those,
Starting point is 00:19:22 about the GI Jones. Right, that's it. And we got soldiers. Hey, for real, right? We definitely do. So what you got planning for the By-week? I might go back to the Bay. I'm probably spending some time with my family out there.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Other than that, I probably ain't going to do too much. Just get some time, man, with them. My head of my high school. check out my coaches and that's pretty much about it. It's late out there. I mean, they're in the playoffs? I think they just recently got into the playoffs this past week because I think in California they probably start like two weeks later than everybody else.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Right, right, right, right. So that'd be a big game if you get out there and speak to the team or something. That would mean a lot to them. You've been back since you've been in the league? Yeah, I probably got back. I went last time I was able to see them play was probably my second year in the league. It's been probably about like four years since. So it would probably definitely be a great time
Starting point is 00:20:15 to be able to check them boys out and holl at them and get them all ready for the game. Oh, that's going to be big coming off the game you just had. Oh, this boy is going to be juice. Most definitely, for sure. So was there like somebody, is the same high school coach that you were there that was there when you were there still there?
Starting point is 00:20:32 Yeah. They went to basically our cross-town rival, but you were caught me i told them all i said man i can't even rep y'all no more oh that's i was telling like hey y'all can't reclaim me as i was y'all player no more right right right don't don't bring my name off no more right right nah but i love them though man like you know all through high school you know from hardwood excedo um you know coach rivers man man all my offensive coaches like even my defensive coaches they all took care of me like you know they all As soon as my first day, you know, being on varsity and stuff, bro, like, they took me in like I was one of theirs, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:15 So, like, I got nothing but love and respect for all of them. You know, I'm definitely greatly appreciated for them. Did you run track, too? Yeah, I ran track my basically all four years, all four years of high school. How did you do? My first year or my, was it freshman year, I probably was like 11 to. And my sophomore year was like 10-9, junior year. My 5-6-8, and then my senior year I ran a 10-6-8.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Okay, you got there. Yeah, I got a little faster. I mean, you know, them dudes in California, Florida, and Texas, they'd be blazing. So, like, I mean, me being a football player at, like, what, I was about 200 in high school. Oh, yeah. That's damn good for a 200-pounder. No question. That's great. That's great. I know your football coaches were sitting there like, yeah. That's it. Yeah, most definitely. They was making sure I was running. No question. No, I ran in
Starting point is 00:22:17 California. It's like the Olympics, bro. I'd be trying to tell people like, like, you could have been in somewhere like Oregon or you know what I mean, somewhere else and won it. You don't want it in Washington. But California, you'd be out there. You got to run 10-3 over and over. Yeah, for sure. Over. I think when I was in high school, I think somebody, I think this dude named Calvani Muhammad, he used to play for Cal, Berkeley.
Starting point is 00:22:42 I think he might have been in league for maybe a year or two. Then I think he played for like the Eagles maybe. But he was in California and running like, I want to say 10-1, 10-2, blazing. I was like, yeah, I'm cool. I'm good. You got it, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yeah, yeah. You got it. So what's the book? best bit of advice that, and who gave it to you that you ever got? Man, probably either between Marshaun Lynch and probably Adrian Peterson, mainly just basically, um, mainly just basically, uh, them's, and obviously two of my pops, you know, just being able really to stay true to yourself, you know, no matter what you're going through, through ups and downs and trials and tribulations that basically you'll go
Starting point is 00:23:27 through in life. And, um, you know, in terms of like with AD and, um, uh, Marshaun, basically. them telling me, bro, like, just keep grinding. I mean, you got all the physical attributes, you got the speed, you got the size and the talent. You know, when you put that talent in the hard work, you know, sometimes that should become unmatched. And, you know, that's one thing I never forget from them doos. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
Starting point is 00:23:56 It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman. documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:21 A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.

For honest conversations, stories that don't always get told, and for people who are chasing something bigger. So, if you've ever supported me, or you're just chasing down a dream, this is right what you need to be.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Listen to The Clifford Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap little Kim's boobs at the VMAs? Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking. What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Starting point is 00:25:35 Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
Starting point is 00:26:01 so I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really? Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So when you was growing up, did Pops like coach you or did he just kind of like hands on? or like my pops was kind of hands on, but he like wasn't at the time, you know what I mean? Like, hey, you know, he was kind of on and all. He couldn't coach me though.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Right, right. Yeah, now, that's the same with my dad too. My dad, he was more so when things that I needed to work on, he was going to be there corrected. Then he's just going to let me go. As soon as I need to fix something
Starting point is 00:26:50 or he felt like I need to work on something, which was mainly for him was my body. And he had fixed that up and critique certain little areas. And, you know, then after my body, it became my game and what did I need to do, whether it's finishing, you know, hitting a hole or stiff arm in or, you know, running through somebody. But he pretty much always been like that.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And to be real, bro, he liked that to this day. I love it. He, I think he 53, 54 years old in the offseason. Like, we work out together. Like, literally, bro, everything that I do, he's doing. Like, literally, you would think he's getting ready to take my spotting to him. I love that. You know, that's one thing about my dad, man.
Starting point is 00:27:33 He knows of love and passion that I got for the game. And he had it too. But he just, obviously, he didn't make it as far as I did. But he had all the talent in the world, man. And, you know, for him to be able to, you know, still be able to critique me in a way that a coach probably would or wouldn't. He's going to be that person to always, no matter what, keep it real with me and make sure I'm on top of my egg game at all times. But like I said, that training stuff with him, that boy ain't no joke. He do all the lifting, all the weight.
Starting point is 00:28:03 If not, he left more weight or he going to run more than me. So it's crazy the thing. But, yeah, it's true. I promise you. It got to hit different working out with pops, though. It got a hit different. You ain't, ain't no reps off. Like, nothing.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Hey, he don't give it down. I'm talking about the stuff we do here way easier than the stuff with him. That's funny. So have you went, have you like going on like a vacation with your Pots? You got any siblings? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got two older brothers, three other sisters, man. I'm the youngest.
Starting point is 00:28:37 So I've still yet to take a real family vacation. But, I mean, in terms of like vacation, my Pops, like, no, I never took it. But I'm going to fly my Pops and my mom's out to somewhere, probably like Hawaii or some or wherever they want to go, man. they don't usually be asking them much. They just be here for the ride, but I mean, I definitely want to do something for them. Look, if I don't take no other advice from me,
Starting point is 00:29:05 from this conversation, you take, you could take your whole family on a vacation, that'd be cool, but you take your pops and your two brothers. I don't know how close you are to somewhere, you know what, it could be anywhere.
Starting point is 00:29:17 It ain't got to be no party place. It could be the Bahamas. It could be, you know what? Just y'all. Yeah, no. Two, three days and brotherhood, I'll tell you what, you're going to come back
Starting point is 00:29:26 and you're going to be like, It was lit. We closer. We talked more. Like, it's different when you get to this position. You didn't work your whole life. You didn't done everything you're supposed to do. And then you get to sit there and like, I know you grind with your pops, but you don't get to sit there and enjoy it with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that's real. I mean, one thing about him, though, man, like to be real, like even in the offseason, like, I don't really be having like too much time to go this place and that place. And mainly because of that structure. with him. Like, you know, it's almost like in college, like a strength coach. Like, no matter what, all year long, like, look, this your job. Yeah, you can have fun and all of that stuff. That's, that's Saturday and Sunday with him. But Monday through Friday, sometimes Saturday, like, we're going to get that grind in, especially from like, let me see it, probably about like from April on. It ain't none of that other stuff. Like, that's out. You're going to have your fun right after the season.
Starting point is 00:30:26 and when you, you know, resting your body and stuff, if it ain't then, you ain't going to have it with them. So, you know, for the most part, like. Come on, pop. Hey, you got to talk to them, Sher. Look, look, the, the, hey, the workout equipment can travel. There's fields everywhere, baby.
Starting point is 00:30:43 The work ain't got to stop. But we could do it something. We could be in the Bahamas getting on working. Yeah, yeah. Getting on here. Hey, right. Hey, Paul, I hope you're listening, bro. Hey.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Oh, sure. That's cool, though, man. That's really cool. Your older brothers play, huh? Yeah, no, they used to. They used to, man. My brother, he coach out in the Bay right now for East County. They've been doing their thing, and I want to say they undefeated.
Starting point is 00:31:10 So he's doing this thing with him, man. So he's doing this thing and everybody else, bro. So I'm just the one, you know, everybody just glorified. But at the same time, like, they're here to enjoy the ride with me, especially like in the Super Bowl. That's probably the only real trip that all of them didn't have. Like, they all was up there. You know how Marashon said when y'all went there,
Starting point is 00:31:33 town business is going to be the football. Hey, they was for show in the building for show. That's what's up. That's what's up. I mean, that's the part that people don't understand. And that's the part that's messed up because I know afterwards, they were telling you all these cool stories about the stuff they was doing. And they were like, I went here.
Starting point is 00:31:48 Man, what? You still was hearing it all week. They meeting this person. They meeting that person. I mean, my mom just kept talking about how she met George Kittle. Like, oh, my God. I just met George Kittal. I'm like, Mom, like, dang, like, cool.
Starting point is 00:32:03 But not, like, George, I mean, he definitely was very, like, cool to my fans. So, hey, Joe, I appreciate that, bro. I told you before, but I appreciate it. Yeah, man, he's a good dude, man. You know, it's all love everywhere. That's cool, man. That's the cool part about being in the league, man. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
Starting point is 00:32:21 not quite, unhumor me with Robert Smigel and friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the Enhanced games.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:33:18 On the Look Back at a Podcast. For 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. It was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human.
