It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Starting point is 00:02:36 Eligibility and deposit restrictions apply. The volume. Notice, sir. You know this. Super Bowl. Championship. That should always be the expectation. All right.
Starting point is 00:02:52 You're mad at you. Go on here. Welcome back to the Richard Sherman podcast. Two games on Monday night. Not expected results. Deshawn Watson, they got to protect him. They got to protect him. Receivers catch the ball leading to a pick six.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Like, what's going on in Cleveland? He just doesn't look like himself. I wish I could point my, put a finger on and be like, hey, it's this or stat or stat. But I just don't know what it is. But Deshawn Watson doesn't look like himself. But you know a Mike Tomlin coach defense is going to cause turnovers and they're going to wreck havoc.
Starting point is 00:03:28 And High Smith. and Watt went out there and wrecked havoc. High Smith with a pick six, sack force fumble, which led to a touchdown by T.J. Watt. What a play. When they were playing the Niners, the defense didn't look great.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Obviously, T.J. Watt looks like T.J. Watt, no matter who he's playing. But they didn't look that great. But then you put him against the Browns. They look like a very ferocious defense. You got a lot of question marks about Deshawn Watson. They need to get him more receivers, but he has Marry Cooper.
Starting point is 00:04:00 That offensive line, they got to get that corrected. Too many times they got beat too fast. They got to get it all fixed. Then on the other side, you got the Saints. That defense looks legit. They got a top three, top four defense developing. Dennis Allen is calling a great game. Derek Carr, you know, he left some meat on the bone offensively.
Starting point is 00:04:21 He has the weapons and he hits some passes. But in order for them to get where they want to be, he's not going to be able to keep leaving meat on the bone. He's going to have to be more efficient, more effective, use his weapons. Michael Thomas had seven catches, but he could get more, use him down the field. Olave had some huge plays that he made down the field. So they were able to win the game, but Bryce Young looked really solid. I was really impressed with what Bryce Young did.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I think he got the worst weapons in football. He got Adam Thielen, who's got a lot of mouths on his legs. He got a lot of miles, but still a solid player. But he outside of him, they got a very young roster, very young receiving core. And he needs to be protected. He's been sacked six times in two games for an average of three a season, on pace for 51 sacks. To take 51 sacks, he's at 200 pounds, 5-11, 200 pounds.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Like, they got to take some pride in protecting that man, because when they do, he delivers the football very accurately with great touch. There was a time he got out of the pocket. He made a play with his legs for 26 yards. So you can see the makings of a really solid team. Ejoro, Everro, their defensive coordinator is doing a really good job with that defensive line and the defense in general. But they just don't have enough talent.
Starting point is 00:05:43 They just don't have enough talent in Carolina. Bryce Young needs some help. He looks like the quarterback they draft it. But they traded away their next first round pick to get him. So they don't like the chicken or the egg. Like, they got to figure it out. Help. It's like the cartoon.
Starting point is 00:06:01 He will holding up the sign. Help. Please. Get Bryce Junction. Some help. Receivers. Lineman. Anything.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Please. But he looks like the quarterback, they drafted him. B. I just don't see how they can win this division with Tampa 2 and O, Atlanta, 2, and, I mean, those teams are playing really well. And the quarterbacks are playing solid enough.
Starting point is 00:06:26 the defense for the Saints. You just saw it. It's playing really, really good football. But we'll see. That's why you play the game. We're going to see what they do going in. But I enjoyed those games. I enjoyed Pittsburgh playing good defense. Mike Tomlin ain't had a losing record. His whole career as a head coach, and it doesn't look like he's going to have one this year. That division is tough in the north, though. But stick with me because we got a special guest today. my guy Miami Dolphins running back, Rahim Moster, coming off a big game, 120 yards, two touchdowns, and of course, the most important thing, the W.
Starting point is 00:07:03 We're going to ask him about the 2019 team and about that game. He's playing with some great players, Tua, Tyreek. I got a new defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, who I played for. Can't wait. For a limited time, you can save 40% on an NFL plus premium annual subscription when you sign up through Plus play

We got one of my favorite guys, Rahim Moster coming off a big game.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Heim, what's good? What's good, sir? How you doing, brother? I'm doing fantastic, man. Always good to talk to you. Likewise, brother. You know the relationship. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Yes, sir. You went out there and showed out. Like, what was different this game? Man, you know, last week it was more pass-heavy against the Chargers and then something this week, you know, I think, you know how Mikey is. Once Mikey gets that flow for the week, he's like, hey, look, we're going to be calling some runs and we're going to be doing our thing. Don't you worry, Heme.
Starting point is 00:08:58 It's going to be all good. And we came out and that's exactly what we did. Look, it worked and you look like the old Hemp, you know, that's what it looked like. Look, everybody talking all this stuff about Miami looking for it back. I said, is Hymn not there no more? Like, what do we do it? They got a great back there. And I'm glad you got a chance to show it.
Starting point is 00:09:18 How is the team feeling? How is the morale? Because you guys look like the front runners in the AFC. Yeah, no, the team is great. We got, you know how it is, man. Kenny given Sunday, week to week, it's always a challenge. It's always going to be something different that approaches. But, you know, overall, I'd say that this team is definitely dialed in right now.
Starting point is 00:09:39 You know, we got two and no start. Two road games, very tough opponents, you know, playoff caliber teams. You can't ask them. any more than what we've got. So, you know, this week now is focused strictly on Denver, you know, the 24-48-hour rule. Once you get that win, it's time to flush it out onto the next. So that's what we're trying to do now. Look, y'all been, you know, you've been celebrating since I've known, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:08 getting up on a surfboard and doing your thing. But y'all got some choreography going with you and Rick, man. How often y'all working on that? Actually, we're working on it pretty often. We talk about it, you know, throughout the practice, throughout the week. And then, you know, once the spur of the moment happens in the end zone, that's when you got to celebrate. So it was crazy that I didn't even realize that, you know, he was doing the stomp the yard celebration. That threw me off guard.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I'm standing there. I'm right there. And next thing, you know, I see him do the stomp the yard. And I just couldn't believe he even nailed it. I was like, I couldn't believe it. You're like, which one you pulling out? Yeah. I had no, but the thing is, though, I had no idea that he was doing it.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Like, I don't know where him and Waddle came up in Braxton, they came up with the idea, and the next thing you know, they hit it. They didn't practice it throughout the week. No way, they pulled that out, Acapella, no way. I'm telling you it was aquapela. It had to have been. How are the kids? How's the family?
Starting point is 00:11:09 Oh, they're great, man. This week, they actually traveled for the first time to an away game, and it was unbelievable. I got the opportunity to share that. moment with them, you know, going out there and watching Daddy do his thing, you know, it's definitely inspirational to have the family with you. But, yeah, they're great, man. They're excited.
Starting point is 00:11:29 The first game you're going to send them to New England? Yeah. You crazy. Yeah. After talking with a couple of teammates, they're like, wow, you really, you were really bold for that one. It was a Super Bowl. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:43 But, hey, you know, if the wife wants to go, then who am I to stop her? You know, if she wants to experience that, then I can't take that away from them, especially in tears. You can't take it, but I'm sure she told you about her experience when she got done. No, no, no. No, she did. She did. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:12:01 So obviously you were a track star in high school, you know, you ran in college. Sometimes when you're really good at track, you get that label when you play football, they don't give you to respect you feel like you deserve. Do you feel like you've dispelled that? Because obviously you've had a ton of success. You know, record-breaking performance. I got to witness that with my own eyes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:23 You know, I tell people all the time, you know, I'm a peer athlete. You know, you can try to put me in in pretty much any sport. I try to try my best to thrive except basketball. I'm a little too short for that. Yeah, in regards to track, you know, I said it even in college. You know, I'm just a football guy running track and a track guy running football. are playing football. So that's the approach that I have.
Starting point is 00:12:50 You know, that's the mentality. I'm always going to use my speed for the greater good in the offense and for the team and for myself. And just go out there and have fun. You know, you want to make the plays as much as possible. And I know that my asset is definitely my speed and strength, you know, comes behind that. So if I can utilize that as best as possible, then I think I'd be all right.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Heem, I got to tell you, I'm not going to say I'm a little disappointed, but I'm a little disappointed. because when we're in San Francisco, there was all this hooplaid, the big race, and, you know, we had you and Keyes, and now you got Tyreek over there, and I just knew. Soon as you got over there,
Starting point is 00:13:29 we was going to get that race. When is the race? See, the race, I'm still trying to wait on Rick and J-Dove and Braxton, and, yeah, I'm waiting on them guys to line it up. So it's on them. It's on them.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I'm ready to go. You know, my legs are ready. So whenever they call 30, You know, I got to approach that line and then take off on them. Okay, because I still got my money on you. After the surgery, after the injury, I don't care nothing about it. Still, he. Yeah, your money's in the right direction.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I love it. I love it. Well, we played on a great team in 2019, not to take you back down memory lane, but that was a great time. Tell me some of your fondest memories about that team and that run we had. Yeah, no, I would say, you know, first of the leadership we had, you know, you came into the picture and I think that you made everybody realize what it truly meant to take one game at a time, you know, to cherish each and every moment with your brothers because, you know, these moments don't last a long time, you know. So when you came into the scene, I'd definitely
Starting point is 00:14:32 say that that was something that was more geared towards how we can go about, you know, winning a championship and then get into the dance. And, man, that run was just special. I mean, the defense was immaculate. but offense was rolling on all cylinders. You know, we were doing things that were pretty much unheard of at the time. And, man, if I could just, if I could take it back, right, I promise you, I would. Just because, you know, I want to get that Super Bowl for us. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:15:05 It's daunting to talk about. But at the end of the day, that's the game we play, you know. But it was definitely a good memory. No question. I mean, I enjoyed it. You were there. McDaniels was there. You know, you got some guys on your team right now that were on that team.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Tell me how he has been as a head coach. When they told me he got a head coaching job, I was in tears because I knew it was going to be a show. Because he is an incredible offensive mind. He's a good dude, a good, knows how to relate to his players and stuff. But boy, is he a character. Yeah, no, he, you know, he's still corky Mike. Right. The way he is.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Honestly, he takes his approach the same way how he was in San Francisco, you know, just going about his business, learning the game, understanding the game, understanding what needs to be done in order to win week by week. And he's going to put the players in the best position to win. You know, as you can see what we did last year, you know, we have pretty much high-flying offense. You know, we were getting down the field. We were scoring points.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I think we were second in offense total, you know, as a team. So in the entire league. So, I mean, the things that he's able to do, man, it's just unbelievable. And like I said, he's going to put you in those positions to win. Yeah, I mean, he's a great scriptor of the plays. He's a great schemer. Really intelligent football coach, great football mind. But how has he compared to how Kyle was?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Because they are two totally different personalities. Yeah, he's more, he's more, I would say, I mean, They're both pretty much laid back, but he's more so laid back just because, you know, he's like, hey, it is what it is. You know, he's like, I don't really care, but a W, you know. It's the same way how Kyle is, you know. But he brings that quirkiness that enlighten the whole room itself, so, which is pretty cool. Kyle don't keep it light. I'll keep it straight to the point today.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I want to win by any means, but like by any means. So that's it. Football is back. No more preseason games. The regular season is here. It's been great to watch you guys.
Starting point is 00:19:40 You guys have a really great team. Offensively, you had a lot of firepower. Last year, the scheme on defense, I wasn't a fan up. You know, putting the defense in tough situations every week. You got five or six plays where it's zero coverage. You got great corners putting impossible situations. Xavier and Howard are all pro corner putting an impossible situation. But now here comes Vic Fangio.
Starting point is 00:20:01 How much difference have you seen in that defense since he's wrong? Yeah, I mean, the way that the guys are structuring you know, the defense and the way that they're running, you know, the, the scheme, man, it's just, I mean, it almost makes you, it brings you back. And I'm going to allude to that 2019 team, right? That 2019 team, the way they, the guys are all jelling together, you know, you got, you got the D-line that's going to cause havoc that ultimately helps the back end as well. And then we got linebackers that can, that can play both the run and be involved in the past game as well. So, you know, that's, that's pretty much.
Starting point is 00:20:38 what we're seeing now is, you know, these guys are, they're stepping up to the plate. They're making the plays. You know, last week, we had Chubb. He's a stack monster. Here he comes. You know, and he calls a fumble, which ultimately led to some points against the Patriots. So, I mean, the guys are honing in on that type of stuff, you know, all the little details, you know, as a defense should. And it's just carrying over. So it's really good to see the transformation from last year to this year and the guys were bought in. They really are. So once you got guys that are bought in, you know, the sky's the limit.
Starting point is 00:21:14 That's for sure. Right. I mean, it looks like guys are bought in and you guys are starting to get healthier. Obviously, you were missing Toronto, Armstead, you know, a big key part of your offensive line. Jalen Ramsey is still out for the next couple of games. But tell me about how you, you know, you guys are sealing. Once you get those two guys back, fully healthy, you guys have one of the best rosters in
Starting point is 00:21:36 football and I can't imagine you guys don't feel great. Yeah, no, we're definitely waiting on those guys to get back. They're doing their due diligence to try to get back as best as fast as possible. They understand that when they come back, they're going to be guys that we're going to be leaning on, you know, even with Jeff Wilson as well. You know, he's down. I had talked to him yesterday and he's like, I'm already ready to get back, but we're like, hey, you've got two more weeks.
Starting point is 00:22:05 You've got to wait. More weeks, F.A. And then you'll be back. And we know what he can do. So just having these guys, you know, being that realm of coming back and being right is definitely going to help us and give us a boost of energy, you know, going into the next few games for sure. No question. And this offseason, there was so many questions about Tua and his health, you know, with everything that happened last season. We don't got to go deep into it.
Starting point is 00:22:31 But he's coming to this season looking like a, I mean, completely different player. He played well when he was out there last year. But, I mean, 466 in the opener, he played really well against New England. Tell me what it's been like to share the locker room with him and how he's different from the quarterbacks you've had in the past and even different from last year. Yeah, so I can tell you this, you know, when you're dealing with a different scheme, right, year in and year out, like he has, you know, prior to Mike being higher,
Starting point is 00:23:00 I think he's had like three offensive coordinators in his first three years in the league. So, you know, him going into offense now and being his second year, you know, being in this offense, he's just starting to hone in on every little detail that he possibly can. I mean, this offseason, he, of course, there was a health concern about, you know, concussions and all. But he did his due diligence to make sure that he went to go to Jiu-Jitsu in and do all the necessary things to learn how to, you know, fall and, you know, tuck your chin in and stuff like that. And if you look at those clips when he's been under pressure and he's falling backwards and he has his head tuck and he knows, you know, this is what I got to do in order to stay healthy.
Starting point is 00:23:42 He's been able to take those measures and this is really good to see. And then he's just a hell of a player. I mean, look what he's been able to do, you know, thus far this season, even, even last year, what he was doing. So he's five and oh against the Patriots, which is, you know, pretty much unheard of. Unheard of. Unheard of. And he's just going out there and balling. So, no, we just got to make sure that he stays healthy.
Starting point is 00:24:05 He can't get touched. That's a big thing. Last week he got touched for the first time. He got a sack. Week before, against the charges, we didn't give up any sacks. So we're trying our best to make sure that he's not being touched in that pocket. So that way he can make those throws. And he's getting the ball out fast, too.
Starting point is 00:24:25 So it's good to see the technique that he's been able to produce out there. Yeah, I mean, it's been great. And speaking of another teammate that you're faster than, but he looks like a great player and he's set to have a great year, want to break records. Tell me about Tyreek. Obviously, last week he had a big week.
Starting point is 00:24:40 He had some, you know, plays this week. They were in a little two-man to kind of negate him, which allows you to have a big week. But how is he as a teammate? Man, he's honestly, he's awesome. I mean, the guy just comes to work. You know, he has his luncheil ready to go. He expects everybody to be on the same level as him,
Starting point is 00:24:58 which is awesome, you know. And you got to have a guy like that in the locker room, you know, just to boost everybody else around you up, you know. That's somebody I look forward to playing with. I need somebody right next to me that doesn't care about anything else besides football and wants to go out there and win and score a lot of points. And that's what he's doing, man. It's good to see.
Starting point is 00:25:23 Well, I mean, they gave you a cake for protecting the ball week one. What would you do with the cake? I gave it to the old lineman. because they honestly, they didn't give up a sack. So I had to give that, you know, that cake to them. So it's a reward that we do, you know, the ball meeting. You know, we talk about the football and the upcoming opponent and who's a violator and what we can do to stop them
Starting point is 00:25:45 and what we got to do to protect it. And this year it's a little bit different of a twist. You know, the reward is a cookie cake, an actual birthday cake, and you get the D-Line, they get a wedding cake. Oh, wow. If they get an intercept. So if you get an intercept and get a three-tier wedding cake. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I kind of need them to get an intersexist. I got to see that. Yeah. I taught him last week. I was like, hey, man, I need you get that wedding cake. He's like, hey, we're going to get that wedding cake. So did you get another cake week, too? We'll see.
Starting point is 00:26:19 We got a ball meeting on Thursdays. So we'll see if I get another cake, man. Hopefully I'm not the only one. Right, right. I mean, I'll play the heck of a game. I mean, everybody get a game. You get a cake, you get a cake. You're like Oprah, baby.
Starting point is 00:26:32 There could be like five takes for each position on offense. Right, right. Well, this is year nine, hey? Year nine, undrafted guy. Yeah. Tell me about advice you would give to your younger self. Because like you said before, I heard you in an interview say, hey, I didn't really start getting my run until year six.
Starting point is 00:26:50 So I got plenty of thread left on the times. Yeah, you know, one thing now I tell myself, my younger self, I mean, I even asked this question to myself a couple weeks ago. You know, what would I ask my younger self? And one thing that I would ask or tell them, you know, is just stay the course, you know. You've done everything you possibly could and believe in in yourself, you know, just stayed a course and stay healthy. Definitely, you know, health was a big problem in mine a couple of years back. But now you got to hone in on that and your health is more important.
Starting point is 00:27:25 So that's something I would tell myself, you know, my younger self is just to stay healthy and keep believing. Well, Heem, I got the dolphins at four in my power rankings. Starting point is 00:27:55 I know that we haven't necessarily talked all that much. And, you know, I see on the day-to-day what you do, man. And, you know, I would definitely say, you know, keep doing your thing. I know it's tough work on the other side when you're not dealing with ball and stuff like that. So keep being you, brother, keep doing your thing. And it's exciting. You know, you're definitely giving a lot of people hope and life after football. So keep doing your thing, bro.
Starting point is 00:28:22 And I truly appreciate you. You know, we locked in. That's how we are. We locked in. So, yeah, that's one thing I'd say, bro. Just keep doing your thing. And I'm always excited every time I see you out there on that camera, out there on that field, you know, even last year when you was incensing with me,
Starting point is 00:28:39 I had to chop it up with you, man. Yes, sir. And you're doing your thing, brother. So keep it up, bro. I really appreciate that, brother. I'm so proud of you. I was proud of you. You know, the game you had, I'm proud of you every time you step on that field.

Well, I appreciate you, brother. Go enjoy the rest of your day off. We're going to talk again soon when y'all, number one in my power rank is I'm calling you back in after the next big game.
Starting point is 00:29:09 I'm going to hold you to that now. I'm going to hold you to it. Yes, sir. Appreciate you, brother. Appreciate you. Have a good day. You too. The volume.
