This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the Fourth.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Wreck, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Rivera, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be?
I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sacks,
Wait, what sex?
Is it just me, or does every woman my age, want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes?
They say we can't polish a turn, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter.

On a Tuesday, can't wait for today's show.
Great night, sleep, ready to roll.
Don't even need a Red Bull.
This is The Herd, wherever you may be and however you may be listening live in L.A.
Yes, our set, FS1 is amazing.
Nice job, everybody on that.
The Halloween look, it is Thursday.
I am dressing up again as a respected newsman.
Hi Heart Radio, Fox Sports Radio at FS1.
Joy Taylor is joining me as always.
One hour from now our hurt hierarchy.
Our herd hierarchy, top ten teams, it's getting very, very interesting in the NFL.
Cowboys are better than you think, getting very interesting.
Joy, how are you?
I'm good.
I'm actually very interested to see who you have at the top of your hierarchy.
It's a point of contention around the NFL right now.
It's very close.
It is very close, and there are skeletons all over our set.
So if you're listening to us, turn to FS1.
Our crew just did a remarkable job here on Hollywood.
Halloween week. Also today, we got Jake Laser and Peter Schrager. We got NFL trade deadline,
so we'll be all over that stuff. There's rumors flying this morning. Nothing can be substantiated,
but we'll just, we'll start with this, though, is that the NBA seasons, you know, it's about a
week old, and one of my contentions is the Westbrook Hardin thing is going to be incredibly
rocky. And because, and for obvious reasons, two guards, profoundly gifted, great scores,
ball-centric guys.
Now, through three games, we're already seeing a pattern.
Westbrook, 24 points, not shooting threes, 50% from the field, has been terrific.
Hardin is struggling.
Off ball more.
Three-point shooting, 15%.
From the field, 28%.
So you go ahead and say, Colin, Westbrook is the man.
It doesn't matter.
for this to work, they both have to work in unison.
So last night, Westbrook played very, very well.
His 29-9 played very well.
Houston wins struggled ugly, early, but won.
And Westbrook again was very good.
Of course he did.
Because he is good.
But there is a reason when Steph Curry and Clay Thompson emerged as a great back court.
You had to go back to 1972 to find a comparable.
back court, Jerry West and Gail Goodrich, where two scores work together.
Because in the history of the NBA, that's not how you build a franchise.
If you go look at how the Lakers great teams, Kobe was the man at Guard, Derek Fisher
was a clear two.
Okay, Derek Fisher was smart.
I'm going to make Kobe my best friend.
When Magic was running the show, Byron Scott, Norm Nixon early, clear number twos.
Michael Jordan's great teams.
Paxon, Kerr, Ron Harper, Michael gets the ball always.
Magic gets the ball always.
Kobe gets the ball always.
That's why if you look at the history of the NBA,
a great point guard in a center, Magic and Kareem get your titles,
Tony Parker and Tim Duncan get your titles,
or Kobe a two guard, Michael, a two guard.
I mean, even Scotty Pippen.
Scotty Pippen wasn't a guard.
He was a wing guy.
He was the robin to Batman.
The issue here is you're going to go back to the 70s to find guards that work.
Can people say, Stefan Clay, Stefan Clay, time out.
It's different.
Clay Thompson is what they call a catch and shoot guard.
Clay Thompson scored 60 points, his best NBA game.
He had 11 dribbles that night.
I'm not joking.
Look it up.
11 dribbles.
That's called half a possession for where.
Rushbrook and Harden, okay?
They're different players.
Not all guards are the same.
So Steph and Clay work because one is a catch-and-shoe guard.
But you had to go back to the 70s to find a prototype back court where you're like,
oh, two-guards score because people don't build teams this way.
So what you're seeing already in Houston is Westbrook, who's not a catch-and-shoot guard.
The weakness to his game is shooting.
The strength to his game is ball handling, energy.
He's a remarkable Tasmanian devil of an athlete.
I mean, just like he's an uncontrollable talent, sometimes an out-of-control talent.
And Hardin, now, if you watch him play, is better served off the ball.
Because James can really shoot.
But can you convince James?
Okay.
You know all those MVP's and stuff?
Yeah, you change your style.
That's going to win more.
But now you're going to have to go over.
and it kind of be Westbrook running the show, and you'll be the slot receiver.
You know, he'll throw it to you occasionally, but he'll, good luck making that work.
Now, it looks like that's the way it should work.
Westbrook, no threes.
Westbrook, huge energy, draws people to him, hardened outside shoot would be better.
But you can tell from James shooting, he's struggling with this combo meal.
It's not quite working for him.
I had a friend last night that was at the game, and he said,
he said it's just an interesting watch.
It's incredibly clunky.
Of course, it's very, very early.
But something is emerging that Westbrook, no threes with the ball, feeding hardened, would be ideal early.
The question is, and it sounds simple because you could win that way.
Would James be okay with it?
I think that's tough.
And there's a reason, Steph and Clay, were the first.
first great back court scoring duo we all thought of since 1972 and 73.
It's just not an ideal way to win titles in the league.
All right, let's go to this.
It's trading deadline stuff.
We'll be all over this.
Peter Schrager, Jay Glazer, both here.
So trouble in Cleveland.
So Odell Beckham, after they lost in New England,
didn't like his targets, didn't like his production.
O'Dell Beckham talked about it in the locker room after losing to New England.
We didn't challenge as much as we could have.
I think we kind of shot away from it.
I was expecting and looking forward to it, but that wasn't the case today.
We had a couple of plays, but for whatever reason we didn't do,
as much challenging as the matchups that we all talked about.
Oh, that's not great.
That's not what a Patriot would do after a loss.
loss, blame the coach. Freddie Kitchens had no time for it and no patience for it and addressed
it yesterday. O'Dell had seven balls thrown to him. He caught five of them. I'm not responding
in that. We need to win a football game. That's what I'm worried about. Oh, that was a little
clunky. USA Today came out today and gave percentages on who to blame. And so,
it's time for another edition of the herds blame pie. We love bakery. We love pastries on this show.
We do. We have pastries all over our office every morning. Joy's laughing. We enjoy pastries on this show.
We've got scones and we've got... It is a daily self-battle with you whether you're going to have a scone.
I like pastries are bad for you and we have them all over the office. So I am going to do another edition of the cowherd blame pie.
and I think there's three people to blame here.
And let's divvy up the pieces.
75% front office, 12.5% Baker Mayfield, and 12.5% Freddie Kitchens.
I could crush Baker Mayfield this season.
And by the way, you Brownie fans, if Baker had as many touchdowns as picks and it was all reversed,
you would be all over my Twitter account.
But you're all hiding now.
I could drop the anvil on your organization.
I could hammer Baker Mayfield.
He's been atrocious, but I'm not going to.
This organization, this general manager who Kansas City ran out of town, has quite an ego.
He hired a head coach who had never even been a full-time coordinator,
who nobody would have offered a head coaching job to.
He did it so he could control him.
So Freddie Kitchens, who was a position coach,
emergency elevated briefly to the coordinator was given an NFL franchise, would not even have
interviewed for that job.
Then they add OBJ, to say the least, an incredibly challenging personality for a rookie head
coach.
In the process of that, they traded away the first or second best offensive lineman to
protect a young quarterback.
Isn't that the opposite of what.
Chris Ballard, the GM for the Colts, believes in.
Howie Roseman, the GM of the Eagle, smart guy, believes in.
Yes, Freddie Kitchens gets 12.5% of the heat.
He's learning on the job.
Situationally, he appears to be sometimes a little lost, a little over his skis.
But do you blame the guy who for the first time in his life is given a seven-figure opportunity?
Should he have said no?
good luck with that.
99% of the world never gets a seven-figure offer.
You just take it.
You just take it and you figure it out as you go.
Now, I do think situationally, he's been in the NFL for 15 years.
He's not great situationally.
And I do think Baker-Mayfield deserves 12.5% of the blame.
Way too cocky, way too much noise, put unbelievable targets on all these players' backs.
And I thought, honestly, he wasn't bad against New England.
I think in a couple of games, you know, Seattle, he was atrocious.
He lost the Seattle game.
So he gets 12 and a half percent.
But this morning, I could clobber Baker Mayfield.
This is not on him.
This is not on Baker Mayfield, and it's not on Freddie Kitchens.
And I don't know, John Dorsey, and I bet I'd like him.
But he hired a coach he could control.
I've worked at companies that have done that.
It's always a disaster.
You hire somebody who challenges you, who may be smarter than you, who you can trust, and you can't control.
If you're hiring a head coach you can control, you're hiring a head coach who needs the job.
You can't fully control Bill Belichick.
He'll bark back at you at a meeting.
Andy Reid will have an opinion in a meeting.
Sean Payton's got an opinion in a meeting.
Okay, you don't want to cope.
Pete Carroll's got an opinion in the meeting.
Freddie Kitchens, it's not going to talk back.
This, again, is about the structure, which is below average, on a day I could hammer Baker,
the Browns.
This is on the front office.
And from day one, I said, Baker is not talented enough to overcome dysfunction.
Deshawn Watson is.
They've had plenty of it.
Baker's not, Deshawn Watson.
who for the record the Browns could have picked the previous year.
All right, good stuff today.
James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be stopping by.
I love having them on the show.
So I watched every stinking play of that Steelers Dolphins game.
I so love how hard Miami plays.
They are totally in with Brian Flores.
They clearly respect Brian Flores.
I respect Brian Flores.
That team plays there, you know what's off every Sunday.
They've led in multiple games, and that was fun to watch last night, sort of kind.
I mean, it was not the greatest quarterback show case of all time.
But I'll tell you what I thought of when I watched the Pittsburgh Steelers last night.
I think they're in trouble.
And you've got to ask yourself two questions with the Pittsburgh Steelers this morning.
Two questions.
And I don't like the answer to either of them.
That's coming up.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeard Radio app.

What's up, fam, it's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like
Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius
Randall. And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on
offense. And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some
playoff history too. Steve Nash
would get that thing. That man,
hell get the flying. He run up the court
licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a
training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure
it out real quick. Get your
ass up and down the court, and you're going to
get the ball. So listen to point game.
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
40 minutes from now, top of next hour, the herd hierarchy, top 10 teams in the NFL getting
very interesting at the halfway point. Plus, Peter Schrager stops by NFL trade deadline.
Rumor this morning, the Jets are looking to trade Lavian Bell, who's been a good teammate,
but averaging three yards of carry. Adam Gase didn't love it when he was signed reportedly,
and the new GM, Joe Douglas, doesn't want to pay a running back.
15 million with a bad offensive line. Jets may make a move on that. Shrager talks about it in an hour
and 15. Also, guys, stop using your girlfriend shampoo, get your own at Walmart. Dove men plus
care, strong and resilient. So Steelers played last night, beat Miami a wildly competitive
football game for three quarters. Mason Rudolph, heard booze, got his act together, made a couple
of throws. I think it's really important. This has happened in my life before. And I think if I
ran a company. This is something I would constantly, every six months, every year, be asking all my
lieutenants, all the people running my company, what are we? And where are we going? What are we
today? And what are we going to be tomorrow? And I watched the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I don't
love either answer. What are they? They got talented players, but they're not special at
quarterback. Mason Rudolph's not special. He's a guy and Big Ben is old. What are you?
The AFC has a new standard at quarterback and stop using Brady. Big Ben's not Brady. The new standard
is Deshawn Watson, Patrick Mahomes, and to a lesser degree, Lamar Jackson. Unique talent.
Playmaking talent. Save bad play talent. Stuff you can't teach talent. And excellent.
leadership abilities. That's the new standard. The Chargers have been in their building
last couple of years, very reluctant, walking on eggshells. What do we do with the Philip Rivers thing?
We're moving to L.A. Philip doesn't want to move his family to L.A. He's old. He's unathletic.
What do we do? They don't feel special, the Chargers at quarterback. And with an average O line,
and almost all NFL offensive lines are average,
The Chargers don't feel special at the most important position.
The New York Giants for years, walking on eggshells,
wouldn't go out and get a unique special athlete at quarterback.
And behind an average offensive line, the Giants felt at a deficit at quarterback.
The league is changing. The world is changing.
Mason Rudolph's not a special player.
He's a player.
And at quarterback, if you look at the AFC standard and it's not going,
going away. It's Patrick Mahomes. It's
Deshawn Watson. And I think to a lesser degree, I don't put
him near this category, but it's Lamar Jackson. Oh my lord.
He's faster than our linebackers. Oh, wow. He made something
out of nothing. So what are the Steelers today? Not special at the
most important position. And where are they going? Bringing
old Big Ben back. It feels very New York
Giants. It feels. It feels.
very L.A. Chargers. It feels very, do we roll the dice? Do we, do we, do we hit the reset button?
I mean, listen, Big Ben is not Brady, so stop it. He's not aging like Brady. He's banged up again.
And by the way, Miami and Cincinnati, both in the AFC, are going to get new mobile, fresh
quarterbacks. So this is not a trend that's, it's ending. I just watched the Steelers last night.
And I kept going back of, who are they? And where they?
they going? I don't really like the answer to either. Remember, the NFL does not reward nostalgia.
Ever. It does not reward nostalgia. You got to be ahead, not behind. Hey, Kansas City was getting to the
playoffs with Alex Smith. And he reads like, we got to get better. Alex Smith is not beating Tom Brady.
We got to get special. Baltimore was winning a bunch of games with Joe Flacko. We got to get different.
We got to get special.
I mean, again, Houston was winning their division before Deshawn Watson.
We got to get special.
What are the Steelers?
Where are they going?
What are they going to be?
I just felt like a big mad burger to me last night.
Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
I liked your tweet about the dolphins last night.
Playing with a porpoise.
Whoa.
Very clever.
They were, though.
That's why I always say, like it doesn't matter what the organization is doing.
Players and coaches are not tanking.
They're not on board with that.
They might have the personnel out of their control
and the energy and direction out of their control,
but they're not tanking.
So Bill Belichick is 67 years old
and just won his 300th career game.
A decade ago, Bill Belichick said he didn't plan
on coaching into his 70s,
but now he might be changing his mind a little bit.
Are you kidding that time you made the comment?
I don't want to be Marve Levy
coaching in my 70.
Is that a joke?
Yeah.
You know, when I said it, maybe I didn't know what 70 felt like, so I'm not really sure if that's an accurate statement today or not.
I don't really know.
At the time, I didn't feel that way now.
I'm closer to that age.
I don't know.
I could easily see Bill Belichick coaching into his 70s.
Now, Marv Levy and George Hollis both retired at 72.
That's five years from now.
His Bill Belichick is 67.
So will he make it to 72 or 73?
Pete Carroll is still coaching also, and he's seven months older than Bill Balliachak.
I want to throw some numbers at you.
So I would argue college sports because of recruiting is even tougher to coach.
It's just relentless.
It's a never-ending schedule.
Okay. Coach K-72, Nick Sabin, 67.
By the way, Greg Popovich covers, by the way, coach's Olympic team, so he travels all off-season.
Greg Popovich is 70.
Could I remind everybody that Bernie Sanders is,
78, Elizabeth Warren is 70, Donald Trump's 73, and Joe Biden 76, and those are the four frontrunners to be president.
Which is a slightly more stressful job than coaching the Patriots.
I look at it and I'm like, folks, does he look old and out of touch?
No, no, no, no.
I think it's kind of what he's saying.
Like, at the time I said it, I didn't know what 70 would feel like.
I mean, I can't, you know, I'm 32 years old imagining what 70 feels like.
I don't know.
It depends on how well I take care of myself for the next 40 years.
But that's like, that's a long time from now, you know, 30 years.
You know what I mean?
So it's like, it's hard to imagine what you're going to feel like that.
But when you get to that point, then you're like, oh, three years from now.
Like, I feel great.
Why not?
Also, I'm okay with old.
I saw Super Bowl in the old.
I saw a new versus old.
And Sean McVeigh was rigid and couldn't adapt.
And Bill Belichick old guy did.
I'm okay with, I prefer old leaders.
I like my pilots to have gray hair and my surgeons and my financial advisors.
See, I don't care about the age.
The age thing doesn't concern.
me at all. I mean, obviously, you want to be healthy, you know, so that's, that's important,
but that's, who determines who's healthy or not, like, whatever you feel is what you feel.
My thing about moving into, like, that part of your life is, are you still able to adapt?
Yes. Are you still able to evolve? Are you still aware of, well, I might be 67, 70, 73.
I realize the people that I'm working with are in their early 20s, and they are in a completely
different generation in mind space. And they are in a different generation in mind space than I was
when I was in my 20. So am I able to relate to them? Can I see things to their eyes? Can I have
conversations with them to help them grow and become the best they can be? Because if you can't do
that, then you've aged out. Bobby Knight got old and rigid. Woody Hayes got old and rigid.
Belichick's old. He's not rigid. Andy Reed 67. Pete Carroll, these guys are constantly evolving.
And they have a wealth of knowledge and experience. It's the evolving thing that keeps you in the game.
So Matt Nagy decided to go for a game-winning 41-yard field on Sunday and instead of putting
the ball in Chibisky's hands and the Bears lost on a missed kick, which we talked about yesterday.
This was largely seen as a sign that the Bears may not have any faith in their quarterback.
But Nagy insists to Chubisky will remain the starter and there's still time for him to get better.
Yes, there is.
And we understand that this is a, as a unit right now, we didn't get to win, but we felt like there was definitely an improvement.
So we're going to make sure that we just keep our nose at a grind.
We stay positive.
We stay really positive because that's who we.
are. Did you notice that? The minute. So we had eye contact with everybody. The minute that he said
we see improvement, he ducked his head, he couldn't make eye contact with the reporters. Did you notice
that? Body language. Well, he looked at, he'd be like this. Let's say you're going to fire
somebody. And you say, this, this, this, this, this. Could you look him in the eye and say,
and we're going to keep you here for the next two years,
or would you look down at your paperwork when you said that?
You can say a lot of things about a quarterback,
but the minute he said we see improvement,
he looked down, he didn't on a look at people.
Well, I think it depends on how much of the conscience you have, I suppose.
But I don't know what more you need to see.
I don't...
32, 33 starts.
If there's not a move available to them to move off Chibisky this year,
because I don't see the point of putting Chase Daniel out there.
I don't think that, you know, Chase Daniel is a fine job.
That's fine.
there's no point in putting Chase Daniels out there.
So if you're going to see what the rest of this year looks like with Chibisky,
if there's not a trade option available for you,
we've talked about Teddy Bridgewater,
I think Cam Newton might be an option, Nick Foles.
Like there's players out there that they should be looking into,
but maybe they're asking too much,
or maybe they're just not available.
Like maybe the Saints are like, no,
we're keeping Bridgewater through this, you know,
Super Bowl level run of a season, and then we'll discuss that.
Then stick with Chubisky.
That's fine.
And if that's what you're going to do, then I'm cool with that.
But there has to come a point where everybody sees what we see, right?
Yeah, I just think 33 starts would be double Sam Darnold today.
So if you double Sam Darnold starts and he still makes two bad throws,
then you have to go at some point.
All right.
You know, Blake Bortles, they try to convince themselves after 40 starts.
Listen, he's going to get better.
Like, I think there's, you do have to give these guys two, 32 starts, two full years of starts.
By the way, Baker Mayfield, how many starts does Baker Mayfield have 20?
You can't make a judgment on baked.
I mean, I'm not as big a fan as everybody else.
I think two full seasons.
32 starts.
But we're halfway through a third now.
Like, we know what it is, right?
And it's regressing.
You should be taking major steps this season.
Yes.
Even someone in the second season, like you have some room for improvement and growth
and you're still going to make some mistakes here and there.
Listen, I bang on Baker, but I've never said he can't play.
Like Baker can play.
You give him the right coach, the right O-Line.
Baker can play.
But the other thing is Chubisky is not in a dysfunctional situation.
No, they have good receivers, backs, coach.
O-line's fine.
You can't even, I mean, the defense is Super Bowl-level elite defense.
Finally, the Aschos have a chance to close out the Nationals at home tonight
and win their second World Series title in three years.
The away team has won every game so far.
That's weird.
But history might not be in Washington's favor.
No team has ever won the World Series title without winning at least one game at home.
Justin Verlander has yet to win a World Series start, but hopes to change that tonight.
He goes up against Steven Strasberg.
Coverage of game six begins at 7.30 Eastern on Fox.
So a lot on the line tonight.
By the way, is, is Scher, what's his playoff record?
Shurzer's like, hasn't he been like, what is it, Scher's never lost a, he's a really good world
playoff pitcher?
There's some stat on, like, like there's some stat that favors the Nats tonight, I think.
Oh, Strasbourg.
Strassburg.
Strasbourg has the lowest career postseason ERA of active pitchers with a minimum of three charts.
Here's the stat.
So Strasbourg is 4 and O, I think I read, in the postseason, and nobody's ever gone.
No pitcher's ever gone, including like Sandy Koufax, 5 and O to start their postseason.
That's the stat.
So that means Houston wins.
Okay, that's the stat I was searching for.
Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Heard Lye News.
He played 15 years in the NFL.
He remains the all-time sack leader for the Pittsburgh Steelers,
a two-time Super Bowl champ, a multiple-time Pro Bowl linebacker,
our friend Fox Sports NFL analyst James Harrison,
who is walking on the show today.
So I guess you and I disagree on this.
I look at the AFC now and I see all this special,
and I see Mahomes, and I see Lamar Jackson,
and I see Deshaun Watson.
just take Brady out of it. He's he's the dinosaur we can't explain. I can just see in all this
special. And then I watch Mason Rudolph and I'm like, all right, a year and a half, that's your
guy. I don't, I don't see it. I feel like he can, he can come in and do what's necessary.
You got to think about it. He's a third round draft choice. So obviously he's not, he's not a one.
But if you go back and you look at Big Ben, everybody forgets how he started off.
Big Ben started off throwing the ball maybe 20 to 21 times, 22 times a game.
Super conservative.
Yeah, literally for the first two years he had a run game.
Stillers need to get back to running the ball.
Take pressure off him having to throw the ball every snap or throw the ball more times than necessary.
You know, I think Ben didn't even get 3,000 yards passed until his third year.
So if they go to actually run in the ball.
ball more and getting play action, getting successful with the run game, that'll open up things
for him so that he doesn't have that pressure coming at him. He doesn't have to take so or he can take
a little bit more time to do his read progressions and get the ball to a guy, had time to step into
the throws. So I'm not saying he can be the next heir apparent, but he can fill in and do what they
need to do until they get Ben back.
And then I think they need to go out there and find a successor.
Get somebody in that first round that is going to be special.
Yeah, because I think you've got to get through Mahomes, Deshawn Watson, Lamar Jackson.
These are special players.
By the way, there was a story last week.
I didn't really buy into it.
We didn't talk a great deal about it that Washington's Dan Snyder wants Mike Tomlin as a head coach.
Can you just lay the groundwork today for our audience, James?
Are the Steelers happy with Mike Tomlin?
Is it time for a shift?
Do you think that story has any credibility?
I don't see them being able to get Mike for the simple fact that the Steelers like Tomlin.
Tomlin likes the Steelers.
It's not, you know, it's anything disgruntled going on there.
They're just having a tough time of winning games right now.
And no one really wants to up and move their family.
He's been there for 13 years.
The only way you want to up and move is going to advance your career.
Right.
And going to Washington, he'll be going from head coach to head coach.
The only way that happens if the Steelers decide, you know what, we want to move on from Mike and going a different direction,
then they may try and deal him for, you know, whatever it is they feel they could get.
But as far as him wanting to leave, I don't see that happening.
No, I think you bring up a good point.
This is a guy that you don't leave, with my issues with the Steelers and Mason Rudolph,
you don't leave a gold standard business for what has been a.
clown show for a long time.
Yeah.
You just don't.
It's disgrunt or whatever.
Yeah.
I want to go to a couple things.
I almost always side with the athlete when it comes to mobility.
Kevin Durant going to a team, whether or not I agree with the team, I believe athletes have very
short careers and they work incredibly hard and they get drafted to teams they don't always
want to play for and they get traded to teams they don't always want to go to.
So when a player has an opportunity to say, no, I'm not going there.
Yes, I'm going there.
And I'll give you an example.
Trent Williams is on the trade block, Washington now acknowledging this seven-time pro-bowl left tackle.
Everybody in the league would be better with Trent Williams on their football team.
He's a terrific player.
New England could use him.
Cleveland's reportedly interested.
If you're Trent Williams and you went from that nine-year mess in Washington,
where he lost almost twice as many games as he won.
And you could go to Belichick or Freddie Kitchens.
Could a player like Trent get the word out within the league?
I don't want to go to Cleveland.
Can you do that?
Have you ever seen players that are, I'm not going to go there?
Well, Antonio, he said he's not going to go to, you know, Buffalo when they did what,
we know what they were trying to do.
I think at the end of day, you get some type of communication that, hey, we're looking at
at trading you here or there.
The agent may get to talk to the team.
that they're saying they want to trade you to.
And if you want to pull a power move, you're like, hey, I'm not going there.
I'm not playing there.
And if you trade me there, I'm not going to play for you guys.
So obviously they won't make that trade if that's, you know, what you decide to say or do or threaten.
Even the threat is enough, I would think.
So if I'm in this situation, this is what year nine?
What would you do, James?
I am trying to win a Lombardi, you know, year in and year out.
And anytime you're at the New England Patriots, you have that opportunity versus going to Cleveland that is just basically jumped from the frying pan to the skillet.
It's the same situation, just a different city.
So would you tell your agent, make it known, I'm not going here?
Oh, yes, definitely, definitely.
Unless, hold up now, let's slow it down.
Unless they like, hey, we want to pay you like $5 million more than any type was ever made.
We want to guarantee it for like four years.
Okay.
So there's a price for everything.
Everything got a price now.
on. No, I'm not, hey, I get it.
Yeah. No, I'm not, I'm not, I get it.
Your career, this guy's career's done in four years.
He's an older guy. You know, left tackle's a tough position. You're getting banged around.
So if Cleveland overpays, you'd consider it. Otherwise, they would have to extremely overpay.
Okay. I'm a guy. I've won Super Bowl. So, you know, when I talk to guys that having won
them, I'm like, would you give up, you know, say half of what you made over your career to win a Super Bowl? Oh, no, I
wouldn't do that. Well, at the same time, I've won't. I've won't.
one Super Bowls and I have, I don't know, I guess I got a lot more respect for it, I guess,
I would say, but for me, would I give up a Super Bowl for half as much more money that I made in
my career and I wouldn't do it.
Okay, I'm going to throw something at you.
It's a curveball.
All right.
According to, let me see this, according to the Daily News in New York, this is a news in New York,
this is a news story.
The Jets are looking to trade Lavey and.
Bell trade deadline today. Now remember Adam Gase reportedly I remember this didn't want to pay a
running back 14 million. The new GM Joe Douglas who came from like Philadelphia, Philadelphia
doesn't pay running backs 15 million. They're like New England running back by committee, get linemen
pass rushers. Is this crazy? James Connor gets hurt last night. Lavian Bell back to Pittsburgh.
Yes. That's crazy. Yes. Why is it crazy? Because it's a lot of
tension and personal
grudges there, I think, that some guys may
still be holding because of how that situation
went down. So I don't see him
going back there. Do you like
Labian Bell the player? Do you like the guy? I like the guy too. I like
the guy too. But for the record,
he's been a great teammate in New York. They have a terrible O line.
He's averaging three yards of carry. He's got, I think,
one touchdown. He's been a great teammate. He hasn't said anything
negative. But you think
Pittsburgh's done? I think
he would be, I think
it's a mutual, like,
disconnect there, you know,
especially how guys
dealt with him not coming back.
And when you look at it, that's a, that's a business
move for him. Like, you know, he has to make the
most for his career.
And that's what he chose to do. And guys
getting upset and, you know,
up and mad that he didn't come back,
you know, that he didn't sign the tender.
You know, that's, that's sort of
because now you're talking about my personal business and my decisions about how I choose to make my career.
And some guys, you know, did that because they were under a different understanding or they thought he may have said something along the lines that he was going to come back or he was going to sign.
So with that and those things still lingering, I don't see that being able to come back together.
But, you know, that's just my opinion.
Hey, trade deadline in the NFL now.
bad teams get worse, good teams get better.
Lavian Bell is out there.
And I know the source I have on this, the Jets want to rebuild their O line.
And they would move, they moved Leonard Williams, who's going to get expensive yesterday.
They'd move Lavian Bell today.
They want to fix that offensive line because you can't do anything.
Donald's sacked eight times Sunday.
And Lavian has no space to run.
All right.
James Harrison, great seeing you.
Coming up next, a colossal mistake by Kevin Duran.
And what is he thinking this morning if he reads the latest story with Kyrie Irving that is coming up?

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this guy, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin.
Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.

So when Kevin Durant chose Brooklyn over Golden State, I said, I think it's a colossal mistake.
It's not about the cities and it's not about the laundry and it's not about anything other than Golden State is an A-plus structure.
And remember, Kevin Durant is a wanderer.
It's his personality.
He admits that.
those close to him admit it.
He's a wanderer.
And sometimes with the wanderers,
it's your natural inclination to move,
even when you get incredible support,
which he had in Golden State.
So this story comes out yesterday.
Kyrie Irving's mood swings are, quote,
unspoken concern and making the nets queasy.
We're three games in.
When Kevin Durant left Golden State,
San Francisco area, Oakland area,
for Brooklyn, New York.
You think big city to big city.
What always bothered me wasn't the laundry
is that he really chose Kyrie Irving over Steph Curry
as your co-star.
So Steph is mature, an adult,
kind of a low drama,
kind of an underwhelming personality,
a stable, family man, doesn't need validation,
grew up with a very, very strong support system, incredibly adaptable and easy to coach.
The best co-star in the NBA.
Kairie is moody, needs the ball, the world is flat, more than a handful of stories about
kind of a bizarre personality.
You know, can be a little more difficult to coach, certainly than Steph.
And there is some drama in his life, drama with LeBron, drama with Brad Stevens.
So Kevin Durant's not about the laundry.
he chose as a co-star, Kyrie, much more dramatic, seeking validation, tougher to coach.
Now, they both have injuries, and they're both better with the ball.
And they're both great shooters.
There are some similarities.
But I think Kyrie is more difficult to play with.
He's got a different personality.
I don't think he's as stable.
I don't think he's as adult as Steph Curry.
and I think Kevin Durant made a massive mistake,
and I think a lot of it is based on his personality.
I don't know Kevin Durant, but he's a wander.
We've heard that over and over.
And some of you are watching and some of you are listening on the radio.
Some of you have personalities where you're never satisfied.
Maybe it's from your family structure as a kid, whatever.
I'm not a sociologist.
But you just, you're a wander.
And even when people put their arms around you,
like Steve Kerr and Draymond Green and Clay Thompson,
and Bob Myers, even when they put their arms around you, we always kept saying,
why isn't he happy?
I don't understand it.
And maybe it's in his personality.
He's just a natural mover.
He's never going to put his feet down here.
You know, he grew up in D.C.
He went to Texas.
In Texas, he went to Seattle, then he went to Oklahoma, then he went to Golden State.
Now he's out in Brooklyn.
And I think in a couple of different areas, he's gotten great support and he's never felt loved.
I mean, Oklahoma, he just didn't feel like.
like he was getting the love.
And over in Golden State, I think deep down,
he didn't feel like it was his team, even though,
God, if you're an NBA guy and you're a scorer,
you drive to the arena every night with Golden State,
and you know you don't have to drop 30.
You can because you're the best player on the team,
but you don't have to.
And I think this Kyrie thing, I think this is a mess.
And I think if you look in the history of the NBA,
you can make a lot of moves.
And I always support player mobility.
find me, find me the star that left a dynasty with four years left in it.
It just doesn't happen.
It just doesn't happen.
I mean, you know, when LeBron left Miami, he felt like Wade and Bosch were getting old.
I got it.
When he left Cleveland, he was over Dan Snyder and J.R. Smith.
I got it.
I get when stars leave.
But Magic Johnson didn't leave the Lakers with four years left in it.
Scotty Pippen came back to the Bulls because they had three more rings.
I think Katie made a mistake.
And now we're starting to hear three games in.
Kyrie's difficult.
Of course he is.
He left Brad Stevens and LeBron.
Ready to upgrade your wiper blades.
Weather's getting rough.
Michelin endurance XT silicone wiper blades last two times longer available at Walmart.
Hour two, Hurt hierarchy next.
Oh, here we go, Hour 2.
It's trading NFL deadline day.
Pete Schrager.
He's awesome.
15 minutes.
We'll be joining us.
This is The Herd, wherever you may be, and however you may be listening.
We're on IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, and FS1.
Joy Taylor is with me.
It's a Halloween week.
That's Thursday.
And I am going to be handing out cupcakes for children and fresh fruit.
Children love produce.
That is a long-established theory at my house.
No, you're not.
I'm going as a respected newsman and handing out produce.
Children love fresh fruit.
I don't believe the produce, man.
Just always hand out the package.
stuff. Okay. No cupcakes? I don't know. It's like you gotta eat it right there. I don't know. I just feel like
when it comes, like don't do the pretzels in the bag. I think too much. And like, like, did you wash
your hands before you put the pretzels in the bag? You know, people do a lot of weird stuff. Just get the
candy. It's very easy. Walgreens to sell the big bags of it. Kids will be happy.
All right. I'll never think it. Yeah. You're probably right. Pete Schrager.
Okay. So, you know, I'm into this whole thing. The way my herd hierarchy works,
final four teams, the top four are the teams I think, are going to be in the AFC-N-FC
championship.
That's kind of how it usually works.
So I like to get AFC-N-FC balance.
Don't always do.
But the final four teams feel like to me they're the least flawed teams.
But I really love my, I look this morning and I feel all 10 teams could end up in a conference
championship, except maybe one.
So here we go.
Tuesday, top of the second hour, our herd hierarchy.
Heard hierarchy.
King.
Time is now.
Let's go.
The top 10 NFL teams, according to college.
Number 10.
Kansas City, I actually thought they're lost to Aaron Rogers
was really competitive without Patrick Mahomes.
Structurally, I love them.
GMs and A, coach and A, playmakers are in A,
even defensively where they've got their issues,
their fifth in sacks, so they make plays defensively.
So this is an organization that's going to be fine.
And they had a bizarre number of injuries early in the season.
It happened.
But they're not a man overboard.
They're losing some home games.
They're fine in their division where Denver's a mess.
The chargers are uneven.
And I don't trust the Raiders.
So Kansas City to me, get my homes back, probably back soon.
They're going to go on a streak.
When you've got a great coach, great playmakers, good GM, and you get to the quarterback,
fifth and sacks, you're fine.
Number nine.
L.A. Rams are quietly very.
interesting now. Offensive line getting healthier hasn't surrendered a sack in two weeks.
By the way, they're fourth in the NFL in passing. Sean McVeigh knows how to build a passing
game. Deepest receiving core in the league. Robert Woods, Cooper Cup, Brandon Cooks, and Josh
Reynolds is easily the best four receiver in the league, and Robert Woods or Cooks are easily
the best number three receiver in the league. The offensive line is healthier. McVeigh,
May get beat within his own division by Pete Carroll and Shanahan,
but he's 10 and 0 in his career against the AFC.
They're getting healthy.
Gerald Everett at tight ends, another nice piece.
This is a passing offense now more than a running offense.
It looks pretty good right now, Rams at 9.
Number 8.
Minnesota Vikings.
Listen, are they good enough to get to a conference championship?
Yes, I think there's some fools gold here.
Even against Washington, when you put them in a prime time game, they shrink.
struggled beating the Redskins with a backup quarterback and a backup coach 19 to 9.
But their third in total offense, their third in rushing, they've got playmakers on the
perimeter, their defense goes three, their safeties are great, their corners are good,
their linebackers can run, and they get after the quarterback.
That is hard to do in the NFL with salary cap.
When you have great players on all three levels of their defense, they do, and two-star
receivers and a star back.
But I do think the offensive line is shaky.
I wouldn't be shocked if they made a trading deadline move on their O line, and I don't trust Kurt Cousins in a big spot.
Number seven.
Baltimore Ravens, hard to prepare for.
In the new collective bargaining, you don't play in pads and hit much in practice.
And the first time you face Baltimore, that is a physical offense.
Very difficult to prepare for.
First in the NFL in rushing, second and total offense.
And Lamar Jackson may have limitations, but can I remind you, he is quarterbacked in 14 games.
He's 11 and 3. He wins a lot.
Now, Tebow won games.
But when I watch Lamar Jackson, as long as his receivers can catch, he had a lot of drop so far this year.
He's not going to be great trailing by two touchdowns late.
But don't tell me he can't throw.
He can make specific throws with those big tight ends and speedy receivers, Baltimore at 7.
Number six.
Houston, I always worry about their offensive line.
J.J. Watts out for the year.
year. But here's an interesting number. We tend to bail on the Texans because, you know,
historically in the playoffs, they disappoint us. But Deshawn Watson has gotten off to slow starts
in his career. He's only four and seven in September. But he is 15 and five in all the other months.
So there's this thing with Houston, like they start slow and they don't end the way we like.
But if you start looking at what they do, 20 games they've won 15, and this is the time for
the next seven weeks, they're an incredibly tough out.
I don't love them situationally at head coach.
They don't have a GM.
But when they're healthy on the offensive line with Deshaun, they have a real running game.
I think they're tough to stop.
Number five.
Dallas Cowboys.
Okay, first of all, all you critics, you do get their situationally better than you think.
They lead the NFL, not just an offense, but in third down offense.
What does that mean?
They're pretty well coached.
On third down, it's not men overboard.
They're smart situationally.
Here's another one for all the people that bang on Jason Garrett.
And I know he can be a little flat.
They lead the NFC in fourth quarter point differential.
This is a team that's very good on third down, very good late in games, very good situationally.
They added Michael Bennett.
That's a sack or two, right?
When their offensive line is healthy and Amari Cooper is healthy,
This is a top five, six team in the NFL?
I've got them at five.
Number four.
Green Bay.
Now, their defense is good, but it's not dynamic.
They're middle of the pack and sacks.
They're very turnover dependent.
And when teams like Philly don't give them a turnover,
they can sit and get pushed around.
I don't think it's a great defense.
I think it's an improved defense and an opportunistic one.
They have not given up more than 24 points once.
But again, sacks, they don't scare you.
I mean, seem to me Matt Moore looked really comfortable for Kansas City for three quarters.
But Aaron Rogers is on fire, 75% completion rate.
ATDs, no picks, last two games.
Aaron's hot, Aaron's happy, the Packers are good, number four.
Number three.
Next three teams have defenses, New England.
Now, you're saying, Colin, New England, they should be number one.
Here's what I saw against Cleveland.
Their offensive line lost a lot of individual basketball.
to the Brown's defensive line, and the Patriots defensive line lost a lot of individual battles to the Brown's offensive line.
I thought Cleveland's O line had a very, very good day outside of the butt fumble play when they just blew up kind of a clever play.
Now, they are the first team in the Super Bowl era, halfway through a year to be averaging 30 and giving up only 10.
Some of that is they've just played young quarterbacks, Donald Baker, just kids.
but I didn't love their line play this weekend.
I still think they don't have a tight end that can be dynamic
and they have no vertical passing game.
And I think Brady has looked flat.
Number two.
Saints.
Fourth and third down defense.
Second in rush defense.
The story on this is not Drew Breeze.
We saw Drew left.
They went five and O.
The story on this is a really good defense.
They stop you on third down.
They get you off the field.
They get the ball back to their running game.
I mean, they've won without Drew Breeze.
They've won a game without Alvin Kamara.
That's not what you, this Saints team is not what you think they're billed as.
You know, it's all offense.
They don't throw the ball vertically.
This is a really good defense that in spots gets after the quarterback.
You can't run on them.
They get you off the field and third down.
And oh, by the way, they have a Hall of Fame first ballot quarterback and a brilliant offensive coach
with an elite receiver and an elite back.
But I think their defense is really.
really the leader of this team, not Drew Brees.
Number one.
My eyes tell me San Francisco is the most dynamic team up front defensively
and the most dynamic team offensively.
And what's interesting, they're a little contrarian to what you believe.
Now, we think it's Kyle Shanahan.
Never forget his dad was a pound the football dad.
So they lead the NFL in rushing.
They are 57.5% of the time they run the ball.
That's the highest percentage in the NFL.
So this has been without both of their offensive tackles, they have not been healthy.
This has been, you can't lose both tackles, right?
It submerges the offense.
Not here.
First in defense, first and past defense.
They're also the least penalized team in the league.
So I get a smart team, which is remarkable because their defense averages 25 years old.
Cleveland's young.
It's penalties everywhere.
This team young, there's penalties nowhere.
San Francisco, hurt hierarchy, number one team.
Peter Schrager is stopping by next.
It is the NFL trade deadline day.
Trent Williams is out there reportedly,
and he knows the Jets well.
Lavian Bell is on the block if you're looking for a star running back.
Shraggs gives us the update coming up on both.

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.

What's up, Famis,
This is Isaiah Thomas.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball like,
after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the,

The Astros are just one win away from clinching another World Series title as game six
heads back for Houston Nationals Astros tonight at 730 Eastern on Fox.
Could have a World Series champ tonight?
Greg, too, are you going to watch?
You know, I am going to watch Colin.
I am going to watch.
I like when you're committed.
More commitment from you.
All right, so it's trading NFL day, deadline day today.
You know I've been on this show.
Chicago needs to make a move at quarterback.
Doesn't look like they will.
You know, I'm not a boots on the ground NFL reporter.
I have my sources, but today is a day I bring on a guy that's on the phone all day.
Peter Schreger via the Coward Global Satellite Network.
All right, let's start with this.
Offensive lines are eroding around the league.
The ones that are good are rare.
Trent Williams is a seven pro bowls in nine years left tackle for Washington.
They were reluctant to move him until yesterday.
he's out there.
We know Cleveland could use him, maybe New England.
Shragues, this is your territory.
What are you hearing about Trent Williams?
Colin, there's been a stubbornness about Trent Williams
when it comes to the Redskins throughout this entire process
where they weren't even listening to calls.
And then, yes, I've heard they've now been picking up the phone
and not only answering calls, but even fielding some.
And truth the matter is, I know you mentioned earlier,
like, why would he want to go to Cleveland?
The fact is that Trent Williams and the Redskins are not in a good place right now.
He has actively chosen not to be the...
there. They're fining him for mistimes. They aren't going to look to reward him with some trip to
New England and let him get a Super Bowl ring. If anything, they're going to want a first round
pickback and a good first round pickback. So what Cleveland Browns makes sense to them, because that's
going to be in the top 15. More importantly, he's going to go to Cleveland. And as petty as it
might sound, they're going to show the rest of the organization and the rest of the league.
They're not ones to be messed with. Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen, you don't bully us around. You don't
get a reward ticket out of this place and go on to the playoffs. No, no, we're going to
to control where your destiny goes. I would not see Trent Williams traded to a contender anytime
soon in the next couple hours. Well, that's great information. Okay, so here's another one I'll
throw at you. Jets looking to trade Lavian Bell. Now, there were reports that Adam Gase didn't want to pay
a running back $15 million. The previous GM did, and they have major decay issues on their
offensive line, which wasn't good to begin the year. You know, if somebody came and said,
okay, we'll move pieces. Do you buy this at all? Yeah, the Levyon Bell
one's interesting because I think every player on the Jets, I mean every player in the Jets outside of
Sam Darnold, C.J. Mosley, maybe Quinn and Williams, the third overall pick, and
Jamal Adams is probably up for grabs at this point where there are one in 16. Will you give us a
first round pick for Levy on Bell? I mean, I think if you offered a first round pick for
Levi-on-Bell yesterday before it was reported that he's on the trade block, whether he is or he
isn't, they would listen. Truth the matter is this. Levion Bell, for all of the criticism the Jets'
offenses had for all this stuff. I've been in that building. He's a very popular guy in the locker
room, and he and Darnold have a serious bond. So if you are committed to Sam Darnold and you are
committed to building this thing, the money is so insane next year. I don't see what team is
trading a first round pick for him. I also don't see the Jets trading him for anything less than
a huge bounty just because of how valuable he's been in that room, how positive he's been,
and how good he's been for Darnold. You know, it's interesting. I'll go back to my Chicago thing,
and I'm just a guy talking here, and I said, 32 starts in the league.
Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, the GM in Chicago, can't possibly think this can get past
to Green Bay, past to San Francisco, past to New Orleans.
Forget the quarterbacks you'd face, the defenses.
Is there any possibility that Chicago would make in the next several hours a move to move off
Trabisky?
Okay, so from my insight, I would say that has not been something I've been hearing.
However, the last 30 minutes, the Bengals announced that they're going with Ryan Finley after the buy,
which means Andy Dalton goes to the bench.
Andy Dalton makes about $8 million the rest of the year.
Again, I haven't spoken to Ryan Pace, the GM of the Bears.
I haven't spoken to Duke Tobin over in Cincinnati.
This is me talking to the audience and me and you talking as if we would before a show just at the water cooler.
If Andy Dalton's being benched and they have no use for them and the Bears think that's an upgrade for eight weeks or whatever,
at least make the call.
I mean, at $8 million for the remainder of the year,
because I do think we learned a lot last week.
As much as Nagy's publicly supported Mitchell Trubisky
when it rubber hit the road,
it didn't seem like they put the ball in Trubisky's hands
at the end of the first half or the second half
to go win that game.
They relied on a kicker, and Eddie Pinnero could not get it done.
I don't think they make a major move
to get, say, a Teddy Bridgewater or Cam Newton
or any of those names that people have been thrown around.
But now that Andy Dalton's been benched,
do you make the call and say,
hey, where neither team is really going on a path to the Super Bowl right now.
Should we just mix this up?
I would listen.
I don't know.
It's an interesting tank.
By the way, Gardner Minshu played great.
Maybe in Jacksonville, they look at Nick Foles.
All I'm saying is Chicago is just two darn good, Shregs, to just sit there.
Because I think in that division, he's the fourth best quarterback.
I want to move to this.
New England beat Cleveland, but I saw Cleveland's offensive line open up big holes.
I saw Tom Brady get heavy pressure.
You know, I look at New England.
England now facing Baltimore off a by. And I got to tell you, this has upset all over it.
What are your sources say about what Baltimore is doing with Lamar Jackson? I think they're
a terrifying team to face because you can't practice for them.
Can't practice. You can't necessarily prepare. I'll give you all the ingredients for an
upset of the Patriots. It's on the road. It's on a Sunday night. It's against John Harbaugh and
the Ravens who have beaten the Patriots and Belichick in not only
AFC championship games, but divisional round games in the playoffs.
And Greg Roman's the offensive coordinator.
If you remember a couple years back, I covered this game.
I was there for Fox Sports.com at the time.
Kaepernick and the 49ers came in and they ran all over the Patriots on a Sunday night
a few years back.
I might be dating myself.
Maybe it was seven or eight years.
But Greg Roman drew up an offense with those 49ers with Gore and with Kaepernick and
with Crabtree.
And they moved up and down the field on the Patriots in Foxborough.
and beat Belichick.
They're coming off a by.
They've had 14 days to draw up an offensive game plan,
and Harbaugh, the coach is not scared of going, you know,
toe to toe with Belichick.
If ever there was a game,
and I know that Lamar is just a second-year quarterback,
and he might not be the same passer that are around the league,
I think this might be the one that's ripe for an upset.
I thought that the Browns, they ran on the Patriots, as you've said,
and they were about four ridiculous decisions by that coach away
from being in that game early on.
So I think the Ravens, they could be the team.
And if they get blown out, well, then we might be talking about the best defense ever
because this Patriots defensive unit has not been able to be solved at all by anyone.
Finally, Pete Schreger, good morning football NFL network.
Fran.
He's also on Fox NFL kickoff on Sunday.
Finally, you know, the NFC is loaded.
We know that.
It's loaded.
I think Philadelphia is better than people think.
Dallas, I just figured out, was the best NFC team in fourth quarter point differential.
so we don't think they're good situationally.
Looks like they're pretty good late situationally.
San Francisco, New Orleans, Minnesota's roster.
Is there a sleeping giant to you in the NFC that's getting healthy and getting better?
I look at the L.A. Rams.
You mentioned them in your top 10 earlier in the show.
And Colin, they just beat up on two bad teams, the Falcons and the Bengals.
They now have a long byweek.
They come back and they play Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Tribisky.
They can get fat on those wins there.
And suddenly you're looking at a team.
that is not going to be a 5-3 team, but a 7-3 team who has the experience of going in December and January from last year.
I know I'm viewed as sometimes pro-Rams or Rams Homer.
That's not the case in this one.
This is one of simply of schedule and hitting their stride.
If they can't beat Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky the next two games, well, then they don't belong in that conversation.
If they do, trust me, the 49ers, they've got to still play the Seahawks, they've got to play the Saints.
The Saints, they got to go against Carolina.
They've got some games coming up.
I think the Rams could be one of those teams that are under the radar, playing it quiet,
and could be the team that come December and January are cresting at the right time.
I like what they did the last two weeks, even if they didn't play the best opponents.
Now, Pete Shreger, good seeing you, buddy.
Good having you on.
Love seeing you, Colin.
You're the best.
See you Sunday.
All right.
Fox NFL sports reporter.
We love him.
It's trade deadline day.
It's really interesting what he said about Washington and Trent Williams.
Isn't that incredible?
The Washington's like, you're not pushing us around.
We're going to send you the dregs.
We're not sending you to New England.
I mean, that's what you get sometimes in the trading stuff.
Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen are like, we're not giving you a reward and go to New England.
Forget it.
And also, if you make a deal with Cleveland, the Washington wants, you know, they want a very good pick.
And Cleveland will finish, you know, in the draft order, certainly lower than New England.
I always find when teams are petty and do it that way instead of making the decision that's best for the organization, it usually works out well.
Strong strategy.
Yeah, you know, petty is fun.
Petty is delicious, but...
It's not great for business.
It goes straight to the thighs.
Yeah.
No kidding.
Joy with the news.
No.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Well, Peter just mentioned it.
The winless Bengals will be making a change at quarterback.
Cincinnati has a buy this week.
When they take on the Ravens in week 10,
rookie Ryan Finley will be the starter.
So it is officially a tank race between the dolphins and the Bengals.
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly right.
tank race.
And get that elusive win first.
I actually think it will be the Dolphins.
I don't think these bangles are tanking.
I just think they're not playing well.
Well, Andy Dalton is 68 and 58 as a starter in nine years,
0 and 4 in the playoffs.
So we pretty much saw this coming on the horizon.
I felt like they would let him finish the year.
It's time to move on.
I mean, yeah.
Well, look, you have Ryan Finley.
So you might as well see what you have in him.
And we'll see what happens with that.
I think it's a good day in Cincinnati.
You're like, listen, we gave the beige water pistol like seven years.
It's over.
He was never the red rifle.
It's like, it's like Miami's like, listen, we're going to start over at quarterback.
You know who did that?
Arizona today is fun to watch, selling tickets, selling hats, selling jerseys,
and they've already guaranteed a better record than last year with three wins and a tie.
I'm cool with this.
It's halfway through the season.
You want to see what you have in him.
You're winless, so it's not like the season is going to be able to be salvaged.
So find out what you have in Ryan Finns.
And if you don't finish the season well, which everyone is expecting,
then you'll get the draft back and be able to make a decision at the top of the draft.
This makes perfect sense.
It's just a good time to make this choice and coming off a bye.
That said, Brown's going to get two extra wins there more than likely.
The Bengals coming up in their season.
So, I mean, Cleveland faces.
Their schedule loosens up a lot.
They've got Denver without Joe Flacco, two Cincinnati's.
I think they have a Miami.
Yep.
So, I mean, you got.
I would be careful that Miami game, though.
They play tough.
They play hard.
I don't think anybody should walk into those Miami.
I know it sounds silly, but don't walk into those Miami games thinking they're going to get tagged like that.
So there's been a lot of speculation about Tom Brady's future this year.
He is 42 years old in his 20th season and will be a free agent in 2020.
But Brady is not worried about what's coming next and instead is living in the now.
None of it's brought on by the things that I said.
Again, I said last week, nothing has changed with my status of my team and my standing.
So I've really been focused on my job and a lot of the hype, a lot of the media speculation is just that.
And I don't know why it's being brought up.
I mean, I had a good quote that came to mind.
Someone told me the past and future are in the mind.
I'm in the now.
And I think that's a great way to live life.
So I'm not thinking about many things beyond this week.
You know, I'm thinking about football and how it can be the best for the Noon Patriots.
Very zen of Tom Brady.
Live in the now.
Be here now.
Be present for those in your life.
Well, it's smart because there is nothing he can do about what's going to happen at the end of the season.
There's no point in even discussing it now.
And we've been speculating about when Tom Brady is going to retire for the last eight years.
And for the most part, I actually feel like most of that conversation has stopped about whether he's going to stop playing or not.
Because I think we all know, like, at this point, Tom Brady's going to stop playing football when he tells us he's going to, he's done playing football.
There's no point in even having that conversation.
Can I throw something out?
Yes, you may.
Is it possible?
So he had a house in L.A.
35 million. They sold it.
Okay.
He had an apartment in New York.
They put it up. Two years later, they sold it.
He's not a backup tight end.
He and Giselle are worth 500 million.
Rich people buy and sell real estate.
So he puts his Boston house up for sale because it's a $35 million house in Boston,
recession coming.
He thinks I want to get ahead of it and not have a lump of house.
This is what Tom does.
Or he's worth $500 million.
They're just tired of that.
that house and they want a new house.
Rich people do stuff like that.
This all started when he put his house up for sale.
This is not Gronk, who's got a $3 million house in Worcester.
This is a guy that's got nine properties globally, and he just put one up for sale.
We're all like, oh, he's leaving.
I never looked too far into the selling of the house thing.
There's a million different reasons real estate or business or otherwise that you would put
your house up for sale.
And he had to know doing that was going to start that conversation as well.
Like this isn't just a, like you said, like this is, he, he's, he,
He doesn't need the money from the house right now.
Like, if he wants to sell the house, it's got to be up for a little while.
It's not like people are just walking around with $40 million to buy a house in Boston.
He put that house up for sale and all this stuff started.
It could have just been like, Giselle and I aren't going to retire here.
So I want to sell it because I think I'm going to retire in two to three years.
And that's how long it's going to take to sell it.
That's what it feels like to me.
That's a real estate move and everybody's freaking out.
And by the way, he'd be able to afford to keep that house while somewhere else
if he continued his career somewhere else as well.
Finally, Kobe Bryant.
The NBA off season has featured a lot of movement by star players this year.
And Kobe Bryant seems to think that one key moment led to all of that change.
And it's not the moment that you think.
It's not quite quite.
He told the LA Times, the place where the league is at right now is at right now is awesome.
Katie's injury literally changed the landscape of the game.
And now you have a lot of duos that are in different places.
There are a lot of great storylines to follow.
And there are a lot of questions.
You don't know the answers to which creates an interesting season.
It's like watching a good film.
you don't know what's going to happen.
He is right about that.
This is the first season in quite a while that nobody really knows.
I mean, we have a good idea who are going to be the top of the east and the top of the West.
But other than that, it's pretty wide open in both conferences.
So this is the first time in a while that we really felt that, especially in the West.
I mean, we all feel like the Clippers and the Lakers are going to be at the top and, you know, the nuggets.
We know who the great teams are, but where they will land for the playoffs, we don't know.
while I feel like the Clippers are going to be in the championship,
there's so much that can change.
And Katie's injury shows that.
Like one major injury when you're in a league full of duos,
it's wide open.
It's not like it's been with Golden State for the past five years.
Boy, but I like the Clippers.
Oh, I like that.
I mean, they're, yes, they're really good.
Incredible. And they're very deep.
Best player, deepest roster, maybe best duo,
top five coach.
The Clippers, to me, are the team with the strongest identity in the league.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Yeah, I like that.
a good word. You know exactly what you're going to get with the clippers every night.
Play defense, got shooters, well-coached. Every night.
Yep.
Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Heard Line news.
People think I'm crazy on this stuff, but you have to be nimble.
So Chicago trading deadline, reportedly, you know, they're not going to move off Mitch
Trubisky. And here's my takeaway.
Now that Gardner Minshu has emerged in Jacksonville, Nick Foles is out there.
Nick Falls won a Super Bowl, beat Tom Brady.
Teddy Bridgewater, just call Jacksonville or call New Orleans and go get him.
Teddy Bridgewater's got eight games left on his Saints contract and he's done.
Drew Bree's fluke injury, wasn't a knee, wasn't a back, wasn't a hamstring.
Teddy Bridgewater's work has done in New Orleans.
It's over.
Get on the phone.
But here's the thing is that with Mitch Trubesky, I got nothing against the kid.
Probably got great parents, probably a great kid.
But name the division.
in the history of the NFL where the fourth best quarterback in it routinely wins the division.
Minnesota, Kurt Cousins, better than him.
Aaron Rogers better, Matt Stafford, better.
But, Colin, last year.
Okay, let's go back to last year when Trubesky won.
A, Aaron Rogers is hurt, and B, Matt Nagy was a new head coach, new plays, new schemes,
smoke and mirrors.
They were fooling people last year.
Now everybody's got a year of tape to look at all the smoke and mirrors and fireworks,
and you get down to it, nobody's fooled anymore.
Matt Nagy's a great coach.
Last year, first time head coach.
People just didn't know what he was going to do.
They were throwing all sorts of stuff at people.
For the record, they got into the playoffs, couldn't get first downs.
Now this year can't get first downs.
So Trent Dilfer said this yesterday on the show.
You drafted him, you whiffed, own it, move on, go get Teddy B, go get Nick Foles,
sign him to a two-year deal.
This roster's too good to punt.
on the season. Here's Trent.
Mitch Trubisky holds this team back.
It's the love button syndrome,
but that GM fell in love with Mitch Trubisky
through the draft process and overvalued him.
Now he's holding on too long
because Mitch is his love button
and he's forever connected to him.
This happens a lot in the NFL.
It's happening to the Bears and it's holding the Bears back.
Yeah, I just think this team is too good.
You know, and people will look at it.
Tim Tebow,
got to a playoff game.
You can win in this league short term with a lot of quarterbacks.
Mark Sanchez, when the Jets had a defense in a running game,
he beat Tom and Foxborough.
He beat Peyton Manning.
The question is always, are you built in the National Football League
at quarterback to overcome an average defense?
Because you're going to lose guys to injuries.
You're going to lose guys to free agency.
You're going to lose that great defensive coordinator.
Now you've got to win games by scoring 27 a game.
Sanchez won, Tebow one, Tribusky one, that's not it.
How are you winning?
Is it sustainable over the next seven years?
I kept saying that last year, Joy was here.
This smoke and mirrors bear offense was all like wacky, zany motion.
None of that's nonsense.
You can win the wildcat offense worked for a year.
You can fool people and then they get an offseason and it's like,
Okay, we're done with the smoking mirrors and all the movement.
I think they've got to make a move.
I think the team is too good.
The roster's too good and the coach is too good to handcuff him with Trubisky.
Chris Broussard's around the corner.
Kyrie Irving, already freaking Brooklyn executives and coaches out.
Yikes, that story is real and it's next.

What's up, guys?
This is CliverTaylor the 4th.
And on my podcast,
The Cliverts show,
I'm bringing you conversation
about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app,

What's up fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy
in the lineup, he has to really guard
guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard
Julius Randall. And then he has to give us
everything he gives us on the night-to-night bases
on offense. And when IT's friends
stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive
into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying. He run
running up the court licking his fingers while he got the
ball, like, after you go
through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball. So listen to
Point game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaking of in shape, Chris Broussard.
So the NBA season's a couple of weeks old, and it's a fun time because things start
happening.
So let's address Houston where Westbrook is shooting fewer threes.
He's not an off-ball shooter, so he's getting the ball.
ball. Harden now is occasionally more off ball, but he's struggling. So Hardin's shooting 18% on
threes. Westbrook's shooting the highest percentage in years. You start looking at it is maybe it goes,
it runs opposite of what we thought would happen, or it's Hardin's team in Westbrook figured
out. Actually, Westbrook's energy is better at the point. And Hardin, you're the offball guy more
because you're a better pure shooter. Well, first of all, it's only three games.
I don't want to make grand conclusions like that.
But Wes, either one of those guys at the point in Dan Tony's system is tremendous.
So Hardin, we've seen it the last few years, he's put up historic numbers in that role.
If you put Westbrook at the point and surrounding with those shooters, he's tremendous.
He would average far more assist than Hardin has, and he would score close to his many points as well.
He'd do it differently because he's more straightforward.
forward. He wouldn't play with the ball as much around the three point art.
But here's what's happening there. Hardin's going to increase his shooting percentage.
We know that. He's shooting 29% overall. 15% I think it is from three.
But I think a part of it is that they're taking turns, right?
It's Westbrook for six minutes, then Harden for seven minutes, then Westbrook for four minutes,
then Harden for three minutes. And these are two guys that are used to have in the ball in their hands,
35 minutes to do my thing.
Controlling the game.
Control the game.
Get my numbers.
Do what I want to do in 35 minutes.
Now it's down to 20 minutes as far as the ball in your hands and being in control.
And what I see is when each of them gets the ball, particularly Hardin, it's like I'm rushing to do it.
I'm rushing to cram that 35 minutes of productivity into 20 minutes.
Right.
And that's why I think hard.
Again, we know he's not going to shoot these percentages for the same.
season, but I think that's why he's struggling because he's rushing to get it all in those 20
minutes that he has the ball and is dominant.
And off the ball, he's obviously not shooting it as well because he's used to patting it
and shaking you and moving it.
No, some guys have.
Before putting it up.
Yeah, some guys like Kobe did.
Kobe would give you about six dribbles.
Clay Thompson's a catch and shoot guy.
Right, right.
That's not Kobe liked to have the ball.
Hardin likes the ball.
They like to get into a rhythm.
Some guys just Hardin's a good shooter.
He's better when he can set up.
his own shot. Right, right. So look, the bottom line is this. It is NBA finals or bust.
Because they could have kept Chris Paul and his more favorable contract, one less year to Russ
and got to the conference finals. We saw it. You could have been good, you could have been relevant,
you could have been elite, just with Chris Paul. So if you don't get further than that, what was the point?
And as good as they are, they're going to win. I know you said you didn't think they made the
one. Now you got them in, right?
Maybe 8th seed.
They're going to be a high, they're going to win 50-something games.
Mid to high 50s, if not more.
Mid to high 50s.
Chris.
Mid to high 50s.
They're going to be sexy.
They're going to be elite.
They're going to be a little bit dangerous.
But they can't win a championship.
You sound like the Cleveland Browns.
They told me how dangerous they were.
That's what you sound like.
You used to write in Akron.
That's what Cleveland is.
Sexy and dangerous.
Now they're two and five.
Look, they're not the Cleveland Browns.
They're legit.
Okay.
They're legit.
How about this?
Listen, I'm not going to get into speculation, but Kyrie Irving,
Kyrie Irving's already freaking out, according to a report.
The coaches, the executives, they're bothered by his mood swings.
And it's like, yeah, like, this is what he is.
This is what he's been.
This is what, for the record, what Boston didn't know, what I heard in Boston,
they just didn't know what Kyrie Irving showed up.
today. Some days he was into the team.
Some days he put the heads on and he
was done. He didn't want to deal with him.
No, when I read this report, Jackie
McMullen, ESPN. She's great.
Great. Yeah, great story.
It wasn't surprising about the mood
swings because if you talk
to people in Boston, you talk to people in Cleveland
that have played with Kyrie or
around the team at that time.
And they said he would just
for he might for nine straight
days just really not talk to anybody.
Yeah. And nobody knew why.
The teammates wouldn't know why.
And so when you're in that situation, what surprised me is how quickly.
Like already?
Three games.
Right.
That baffled me.
And the story that Jackie wrote about the incident in China where she said they were taking a team picture and Kyrie wouldn't take off his hat.
And he told him to Photoshop it when they asked like, you know, why don't you take it out?
You said Photoshop it out.
That is really bothersome.
mood swings are tough enough to deal with, but if it's that type of arrogant,
that's going to rub guys the wrong way.
And if you have a situation like this.
Subversive, it's being difficult.
It's belligerent, just being difficult because you can, like for no reason.
What you need in a situation like this is a strong leader.
And LeBron, and look, we know with the tweets and Instagram,
LeBron, he's not perfect, but he was a strong leader.
and there was no doubt that that locker room and that team was going to be set by LeBron.
The tone of it was going to be set by LeBron.
And even though you had this situation with Kyrie, you still ended up winning a championship.
Now the question is who's going to be that leader?
Who sets the time?
Kyrie is the leader right now.
It's his team.
When Katie comes back, Katie, I mean, in that story, he said Kyrie is an artist.
I'm going to let him do what he does.
That's fine.
That's your boy.
you're great friends and I get it,
but that's not the leadership
they're going to need
to win the championship. So are they
capable of winning a championship with KD
and Kyrie? Yes, but
if I had to bet on it, I bet
they do not win a championship.
I don't like Kevin
Durant a natural wander
for the first time in his life
got great support from
Kirk. They put their arms around him
and as a natural wander. And this happens
not just to athletes. When you're a natural
wander based on, you know, your childhood and you never kind of feel embraced.
When somebody finally does embrace you, you may not get it.
And I feel like I think he ran from unbelievable support in Golden State.
Steph is the best co-star in the league. Clay is not seeking validation.
Draymond's a pain in the butt, but he's a loving pain in the butt.
Kerr Bob Myers.
I think Kevin Durant chose Kyrie over Steph.
He chose structure over whatever that is in Brooklyn.
And I think KD, I really think it was a massive mistake.
I've said it from the beginning.
I think Kevin Durant left the first place that loved him
and put their arms around him.
And he just naturally said,
no, it's not perfect.
That's like, dude, life's not perfect.
That was pretty good in San Francisco.
Well, I think OKC loved him too.
You don't think they loved it?
No, I think they did.
But his, remember the stories that came out?
Is that he went to the organization a couple times and said,
guys, you got to sit down with what, Russ.
He gives me the ball with a second and the show.
Shot clock.
And even though they did love him, he could have interpreted it as they're not listening
to me.
So I kind of defend K.D.
there.
You cannot tell me the Warriors didn't bend over backwards for KD.
They did every.
The whole team went out to recruit him.
Well, and here's the other thing, because KD, we know it was never going to be his team.
And he felt that.
But here's the thing.
If he had just not played in these finals, or even if he, you know, he got hurt and what
happened happened.
that changed the narrative.
That's what I thought.
The fact that they didn't win it without him,
that they clearly needed him,
it would have changed everything.
It was always going to be Steph's team to a large degree,
but now it was slowly moving toward
maybe being both of them or Kate.
People recognize Katie was the best player.
Even the players,
Steph and Clay,
they all recognize he was the best player.
So had he gone back to Golden State,
the narrative would have been different.
It wouldn't have been
Katie jumped on the bandwagon
and won a title
that a lot of great players
could have done.
It would have been
they need KD
to be a championship team.
And that's what he lost.
The only way career-wise
is not a regret
is if he wins it in Brooklyn.
That's the only way.
Now if he wins it in Brooklyn,
good luck.
That is great for his legacy.
Fantastic.
But I don't,
they'll be good,
but Philly's coming,
Milwaukee's coming.
and I just, I'm not sure they're going to have that leadership presence they need.
Chris Broussard, massive breaking story, cowboys involved, potentially with the Jets and a trade.
Next.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio, FS1 and the IHeart Radio app.
Oh, my, my, mile, mile, mile, we got movement trade deadline day.
This is The Herd, wherever you mean.
be and however you may be listening. Iheart Radio, Fox Sports Radio and FS1, 10 minutes.
Jay Glazer stopped by. Last year, he broke stories on this couch. He's 10, 11 minutes away,
Jake Glazer. So we got all sorts of stuff. Joy Taylor is joining me, joy, joy, joy to the world,
because this is the new NFL. And I love this NFL. Executives not sitting on their hands
making moves at the trade deadline. It has been, it's been more aggressive than it felt.
Like, it's bubbling now. There's moves already in worse. Okay, for years and years,
Nobody made trades in the NFL.
Then Jimmy Johnson got the cowboy job, made a massive deal, and now everybody makes trades.
And the new NFL, like, I think it's embarrassing that Chicago is going to stay with Mitch Trubisky.
Really?
You think you're going to beat Green Bay in Minnesota?
I'm not sure you're going to beat Detroit in your own division.
That's embarrassing.
Make a move.
So here's the latest.
Ian Rappaport.
The New York Jets are like, our offensive lines are disaster.
The Jets have, I've said this all year.
The Jets have a lot of good players.
None of them on the offensive line.
If you have a young quarterback, Sam Donald, he got sacked eight times this week.
Should have been 12.
He's running for his life.
Lavian Bell is averaging three yards of carry.
There's no holes anywhere.
It's an atrocious offensive line.
According to Rappaport, the Jets are open to dealing several, several of their big-name players,
and the Cowboys have touched base with them on a possible deal for a remarkable safety, Jamal Adams.
He is a beast.
He is.
Now, he has a different style, but he's very much Earl Thomas, Seattle, and his prime.
He is a remarkable football player.
He is everywhere on the field.
Jamal Adams, maybe one of the 10 best players in the NFL.
He is that kind of player.
And he's great.
But the Jets have another safety they like.
They've got a middle linebacker they like.
They like their interior defensive line.
And they got to fix the offensive line now in New York.
Jamal Adams is a stud.
We're showing you some video here.
I'll tell you what, the fascinating part about this,
it says here the compensation would be massive for the Jets.
What would Dallas move?
And it's very interesting.
One of their offensive linemen, you can't pay everybody, folks,
you're going to pay Dak, you paid Zeke, you paid the Marcus Lawrence.
You can't pay everybody.
You paid your entire offensive line.
You're going to pay Amari Cooper.
You paid Jalen Smith.
To me, I wonder if you, I'll throw this out there.
Tell me if I'm nuts, Goula, enjoy.
Jalen Smith is your star.
Do you move Van deresh the linebacker?
Okay, so you don't.
So you're going to pay him too.
I just want to know who you're not going to pay.
Yeah, but you don't have to pay him for two more seasons after this one.
Okay.
So you're going to pay, because you've got to pay Jamal Adams, right?
You're not making this deal.
And according to the story, they're going to be massive compensation on this.
So what is that?
Is it going to be picks?
Now, here's where it's interesting.
the Cowboys, if they get Jamal Adams, are so talented.
There are very few college players that can come in and make the team.
So Dallas may be saying, we don't want our first round picks.
We don't need them.
I mean, we've got our quarterback, our running back.
We've got our wide receiver, our pass rusher, our O line, our safety in a corner we like, and a linebacker.
Dallas may be saying, what do we need first round picks for?
It's just another guy we have to pay.
So Dallas may be in a situation where we don't need,
we don't feel a fourth rounder could even make our roster.
That's how good Dallas's young talent is.
So the Jets have Joe Douglas, a new general manager from Philadelphia.
My guys love him.
And he's like, listen, I got Sam Darnold, I got C.J. mostly.
I got Leonard Williams.
We traded yesterday.
I got Jamal Adams.
I got Levy and Bell.
I've got, what's the point?
None of it works if my offensive lines stinks.
None of it works.
And he came from Philadelphia where they build very good office.
offensive lines. So this is the story. Cowboys have needed a safety forever. They're talking to
the Jets about Jamal Adams. And John Goulae just said to me, that's what they want in the draft.
If you asked what are the Cowboys going to do? They're going to get a safety. So why not get the best
one right now in the NFL? That's what the Rams just did. I mean, if you have a bunch of picks,
do you feel like one of those picks or that group of picks is going to equal the value of the talent
that you could acquire for them? Here's the question. If you're the question, if you're
the Jets, what would you take for Jamal Adams?
I want a first round pick.
Of course.
He is a great player.
I also, I'm going to tell Dallas,
I want one of your offensive linemen.
You got four I like.
Give me one.
I don't know if Dallas can afford to do that.
Well.
But a first round pick and
a mid-round pick
would seem appropriate for that.
Oh, yeah.
Boy, I'd want more than that.
I'd want more than a first-round pick.
Am I guaranteed my first-round pick's
going to be as good as Jamal Adams.
Chances are almost none.
There's no...
If you're Dallas, it's not worth it.
But I mean, if you're the Jets, you feel like you can get a...
I want a first round pick and a second round pick this year.
I want a first and a second.
I'm telling you, Jamal Adams is special.
And they have got everything else now.
If Dallas gets Jamal Adams, get the hell out of the way.
Because that team is going to be really interesting.
Okay, here's the other one.
The other one, the Rams just traded Akib Talib,
Rams are dealmakers, to Miami.
It's a salary dump.
They're doing that so they can sign Jalen Ramsey.
For the record, the Rams brought in Indomacan Sioux, gone.
Marcus Peters, gone.
Keeb Talib, gone.
They got what they wanted out of them.
Les Needs like, listen, brought them in, got to a Super Bowl, didn't win it.
But they're moving on it.
Less needs the new millennial GM.
What's the point?
I don't, we got what we wanted out of them.
This, I really like these new GMs.
It's very NBA feeling.
It is very NBA feeling that, okay, you get guys like Baltimore.
like Marcus Peters may not be the future, but right now, in a race with Cleveland with OBJ and Landry,
get us Marcus Peter for nine games.
We got Brady coming up and Baker coming up again.
So I like the new deals.
Again, Cowboys and the Jets are talking.
Jets are willing to unload several big-name players.
So they already unloaded Leonard Williams, now Jamal Adams.
I think what they're saying is it feels like to me the Jets would prefer to unload.
defensive players, give
Darnold's support for the rest of the year
as much as they possibly can.
But Joe Douglas is looking for draft
picks, and I think Dallas is too good to have
a lot of draft picks. Why not move
them? And the Rams have moved off
Akib to leave. Be sure to catch live
editions of the herd weekdays in noon
Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.

You don't have to.
It's what a great life.
You shower and just leave, and you don't have to do any of the nonsense.
Well, I don't really shower.
Well, okay.
Well, that's that part of the house.
But I never need, you know, whenever I travel, yeah, it's not.
like I need carry on.
I don't need hair care products.
I'm good.
When I do my 40-day training camp tour,
I just have carry-on.
I don't know.
40 days.
You bald guys have all the break.
All right.
And I'm short.
So my clothes are smaller than everybody else.
So you broke the story on Leonard Williams.
Congratulations on Fox Sunday.
Leonard Williams.
By the way, the Jets now,
there's another story that you were praying
that didn't come out before you hit the show because you had it.
Yeah, just in Leonard Williams.
Jamal Adams.
he's on the trade block.
And I know it's been reported about there that they're talking to the Cowboys.
They're talking to several teams for Jamal Adams right now.
And the draft, the competition is a one plus and a one plus a pretty good pick.
A one and a third maybe.
Yeah, it's something like, you know, one four.
But it's probably going up.
It's guys like this, I mean, he's a baller.
He's a player.
And I think that, you know, you and I were just talking about off the air.
These teams in the 20s, why not make a run for a guy that you know what you're getting?
Right.
You know where you're getting.
First round pitch.
these days are such a crap shoot as it is,
you know what you're getting. That's why the Cowboys,
when they did a Murray Cooper, like, all right, for the most
part, you guys are going to pick in the 20s and you know that you're
even like the Rams with
Jalen Ramsey, pick will end up being the 20s. They're hoping in the 30s.
And it's, you know, we know
the guy we're getting. Yes.
You're in the first round. You just,
draft pitch, it's such a crap shoot. So,
Jamal Adams, look, he's on the trade block
or they're listening. And there's heavy
talks right now with the Cowboys and other
teams as well. Robbie Anderson
receiver, speedy receiver. Teams are talking about that.
Levy on Bell, I know they were talking about like Philadelphia.
That's not going to happen.
I know the chiefs have been kind of linked to it.
Let's see. I know they're in
heavier talks right now for Jamal than
anything else. But, you know, why not
load up on picks? And this is, you know,
let's stay with the Cowboys for a second because
you and I were talking about this. Jay Glazer is
joining us owner Unbreakable Performance Center.
The Athletic, obviously,
on Fox and days like today you are so invaluable that the Cowboys are getting to a point
that they're so talented at key positions.
Jay, not a lot of these draft picks can make the Cowboys.
So if they did get Jamal Adams, would they, because the Jets, none of this stuff works
in New York without an offensive line.
The Jets offensive line is a sieve, eight sacks for Darnold.
What's that look in your face?
Yeah, no, no, no, I agree with you.
So that was it.
So Dallas, if Dallas could give the Jets what they want, a first and a third,
can you mention another team that's in on Jamal Adams or is that a no-no?
Not yet.
Not yet because I don't want to ruin it for them.
Oh, is it a big team?
It's a big team, yeah.
With a G on their helmet or something like that.
He's going to go through the alphabet.
I just want to screw it up for them.
Jamal Adams is from the Dallas area, by the way.
I know.
And he's saying he wants to go there and I get it.
And yeah.
But that's, um, um,
Yeah, there's other teams that are involved.
Okay, okay.
So you broke the-
We were here on the show.
Was it last year?
Yeah, you broke it last year.
When we had the Honey Badger got released.
That's right.
Two years ago, right at the end here.
Okay, so let me throw another one out.
Trent Williams is a seven-time Pro Bowl in nine years.
Got all sorts of dogging him.
Washington wants to move him.
Washington should have tried to move him before this, well before this.
Because now all these other teams like Houston
who was looking for a tackle.
you know, it's harder to get these deals done, believe it or not, at the trade deadline,
because, you know, you got a gun to your head.
You got to move fast on this.
They really had a much bigger market earlier, and they dug their heels in on Trent Williams,
and I don't get why.
Now, I think in their mind, they're like, okay, if we don't trade them now,
then we'll get something in the off season for them.
But, man, look, listen, it's the Redskins.
I don't understand why they do the business they do, and I think most of us in the league kind of will back me up on that.
Okay.
Let me talk about two teams that are interesting.
The Philadelphia Eagles do some things well.
They, I think they're a run downhill, throw to the tide end on play action team.
They could use some speed outside to Sean Jackson's older and injuries.
Robbie Anderson of the Jets.
Do you think Philadelphia makes a move in the next several hours?
Philadelphia was trying.
They were swinging away.
But they, their GM, Harvey Roseman, he tries to swing away.
and he called everywhere and was trying.
They don't have a lot of money.
I just talked to some people in Philly.
They're like, we're trying.
It's going to take a lot right now.
Don't see it happening.
But they were trying.
They were really trying to bring in a playmaker for that team on at corner, at receiver, I mean, everything.
They were trying.
Okay.
New England, offensive line issues.
Would they at all be in the Trent Williams sweepstakes?
I don't know if they'd be in the Trent Williams sweepstakes, but I know that even though they got a manual,
Mahmah Tzu, they were still looking for help at receiver.
Wow.
Yeah.
It's interesting in how much they have been in it for receivers the last couple of years.
They tried to trade for Randall Cobb last year, two years ago.
I forget what it was.
And obviously, we've seen how much they've, the Josh Gordon, the ABs.
Is Nikiel Harry a bust?
No, no.
I don't think he's a bust at all.
I think he's just, look, that place is different.
That place you've got to, it's like week to week the way they game plan.
You've got to know, you've got to be smarter than every team in the league
because they make you learn new stuff every single week.
So, no, he's not a bust at all.
He just, he hadn't played much at all.
He's been hurt.
The new GMs in this league are movers and shakers.
I'm going to throw a couple things out to you.
The new GMs or the...
Well, I mean, the less needs, the Howie Rosemans.
They're not so new.
Oh, yeah, the John Snyders will do it.
Is there a, do you believe, take out Trent Williams,
right.
Take out Jamal Adams.
Do you think there's another player going to get moved today, a big move?
You know, it's actually quieter than I thought.
I think because these guys have already been moved, right?
The Jalen Rams of the world and the Micka Fitzpaccar tricks.
Mohamed Sunnoos.
Right, Sanu's and the Sanders and the Marcus Peters, guys like that, you know, they did it already.
So I think this whole, this trade month has been big, but it didn't, it's already been done.
Okay.
Oh, is there another guy?
I mean, Jamal's a big name.
There is, look, I said on Sunday that teams were calling about D'Andre Hopkins.
And then immediately when everybody went crazy, like, oh, my gosh, he's on the trade block?
No, no, no, no.
Teams are calling them about D'Andre Hopkins.
And then somehow, some way it started really kind of percolating
and more and more teams started calling about D'Andre Hopkins.
I haven't got a call from Hopkins.
Am I on a trade block?
I'm like, no, no, no, no.
Get on the trade block.
It's the other way.
teams are calling them trying to see if they could pry away.
And it's just, it's, he would have been a big name, but that's, he's not, they're basically shutting, shutting guys down.
Okay.
They need to get blown out of the water.
Okay.
Gut feeling on Jamal Adams Cowboys.
Gut feeling.
Gut feeling he'll be traded here, not, I don't know about the Cowboys.
Because again, there's teams in it.
There's teams in it right now.
It could, but because they have more than one trade partner, they're just playing everybody against each other right now.
Is the team not?
Stop asking me until I'll get you.
you, I'll let you. I will text it. I will
direct, I will DM you.
I will slide into your DMs and tell
you. Okay. I want to ask you two macro
topics on the NFL, because you're good at this
stuff. Yeah. I
think you have to give
Freddie Kitchens support.
You've got to give him 30 games in this league.
How do you got him getting support? They got him this entire
roster. They give him autonomy over there.
So do you think he's in trouble after the year if they don't make the playoffs?
I think he needs to make some changes. Look, here's the thing.
I think Freddie Kitchens over there.
A, they needed to stop.
Even in camp, but you guys got to stop buying into your hype
because it's going to go sideways fast.
And all of a sudden, you're not playing well.
And teams are going to put a target in,
but he also talks about too many other teams.
Don't worry about other teams.
worry about yourself.
worry about your own house.
And he doesn't do that enough, right?
So, yeah, and I think you need,
you got to develop this quarterback.
You've got to develop the quarterback.
He's not the guy that's developed the quarterback.
So it's...
Is he in trouble?
I don't know if he's in trouble.
let's see what happens the rest of the season.
I don't know if he's in trouble.
But he needs to stop being such a tough guy out there.
And, you know, he's always talking about other teams and the play, like stop.
He was always like a jolly fun dude when he was a runabout coach.
Great.
You kind of need to be that guy.
You could still, you know, you could still have presence by being that guy.
Well, that's fair.
Has there been, when you look at this league, I feel like we're, we kind of feel
like San Francisco, New Orleans, New England,
you know, Green Bay.
I want to throw something out to you.
Now, it's not going to happen,
but I said, Teddy Bridgewater's contract runs out at the end of the year.
Right.
This is Drew's team again.
It's over.
Teddy's time is done.
The Chicago Bears, stop fooling yourself.
Mitch is the fourth best quarterback in that division.
Yeah, I think they need to...
Chicago.
I think Chicago, people said there's time to move on from from Tribune.
Biskie, you can't.
They put too much into them right now.
You really got to ride and die and see, is this a slump?
Is this a son?
Can we build them up?
Like, that entire organization hits themselves to that wagon.
You can't bail out until every wheel is falling off.
Like, you've got to really exhaust at all.
You have to.
You've put too much into them.
So you're basically telling me I'm going to have the fourth best quarterback in this
division rest of the way.
And you've got to make him.
Look, last year, he showed a lot of promise.
The offseason, supposedly he took huge.
huge steps forward. And then the season started, and he didn't.
They got to figure out why. They got to figure out, is it him? Is it us?
Are we not putting him in the best position? Is he just not as talented as we thought we were?
Something. You could cover up a lot for quarterbacks.
But they can't bail on them now, man. They can't. They've done too much to make it his team.
All right. Go to your phone really quickly for our radio audience.
What time is a trading deadline?
Uh, two and a half hours?
In like an hour and a half.
He just, okay, you're not going to give me any specific such Jamal Adams.
Right.
But if I said to you, the other team.
Teams, that's the thing.
Other teams.
Does one of them rhyme with Wansa City meets?
That's not the team I'm talking about.
Because I tell you, boy, Kansas City would be fun with him.
Oh!
The, uh, and the chiefs, I think, they'll be in it for certain things here also.
And that's the thing.
Are your chiefs are active?
You're telling me that?
No, no, no.
I'm not saying yes or no.
But these are the teams that you want to see active are these teams like the Rams,
they swung away.
I want to see it close, right?
These teams that are close.
Like you saw the 49ers did it.
They think we're close.
So we're going to swing away.
New England went up to Mahomet Sunnu.
Right.
New England did it.
So you're going to see these teams.
Just look at that upper rationale of those teams in there saying, okay, can we?
Yeah, it would make sense for them.
Let me throw this out.
Cincinnati, AJ Green.
You're rebuilding.
I don't understand why they were telling everybody, no.
I don't get that.
They are rebuilding, and they could have gotten an awful lot for them.
I don't get why they kind of slammed the door shut to everybody the last week.
And I don't get that.
Same reason I don't get why Washington realized the dude just wasn't ever going to show.
They were ripping him.
He was ripping them.
He was ripping them.
Sometimes it's just time to move on.
Yeah, and it should have happened already.
It's very exciting.
Very exciting.
Okay.
Does the coach his name rhyme with Mandy Zed
That's working to get Jim
Can you imagine how good Kansas City would be with Jamal Adams?
It's 4 p.m. Eastern 1 p.m. Pacific, by the way, I'm sorry about that.
You realize this is what you do
What you're doing to Jay is what you do
At least he does this once a week on the show Jay.
He'll pick up his phone
And he'll just, I'll be talking or something that happening.
He'll just stop and just look at his phone.
There's a pause like that.
And I'm like, what's happening?
And I say, whoa.
I can't go on the air with that.
Whoa.
I can't say anything.
So now you're getting a dose of your own medicine.
No, it's not.
But I mean, look at it.
I'm not trying to put him in a compromising position.
I've said nice things about his baldness.
Yes, you have.
I've said nice things about Leonard Williams.
It broke the story.
All I'm saying is rhyme.
Give me a rhyme.
My sexiness overall.
Today's been good.
Today's been really good.
That's exciting for me.
All right.
Let's let him go and do his job.
Follow his Twitter account.
I will text you, though.
Well, can I break it if you Twitter.
Well, no, you can't break it.
I'm going to text you, though.
I will let you come on first.
Be like, oh, Jay Gler is about to break this.
There's no value in it.
You giving me can't.
Here's a piece of candy, Halloween.
That would be like.
So exactly what I just described.
Yeah.
I'm trying to be a team player here and help you out.
How much you're being a real friend?
What's about to happen?
I'm being a real friend.
And you're not being grateful.
No, what you're doing is standing on the porch on Halloween.
You want a piece of candy?
Yeah.
Nope.
Just joking.
There's a kick cap bar.
Nope.
I'm the parents who give you the pennies.
All right, Jake Glazer, Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Well, Chicago's season took what felt like a turn this Sunday.
Yeah.
They decided to go for a game-winning 41-yard field goal on Sunday
instead of putting the ball on Mitch Chubisky's hands and the Bears lost on that missed kick.
That was largely seen as a sign that the Bears are not having a lot of faith in their quarterback right now,
but Nagy insists that Chubisky will remain the starter.
and there is still time for him to get better.
Yes, there is.
And we understand that this is a, as a unit right now,
we didn't get to win,
but we felt like there was definitely an improvement.
So we're going to make sure that we just keep our nose at a grind.
We stay positive.
We stay really positive because that's who we are.
Whatever.
I'm not very positive.
Here's what I'm positive about.
Your fourth best quarterback in your division.
I'm positive about that.
I'm with you that I like the way that the NFL is shaping up.
and that teams that feel like they're right there
but just need that
that one extra piece
or they're right on the edge of the playoffs
but they know that they don't have the guy
to win playoff games
and move them forward. And if they did
somehow by some miracle run,
make it to the Super Bowl, are they going to win the Super Bowl?
Be aggressive. Make aggressive moves.
Win for right now. You have an incredible defense.
You have pieces. Trubisky's not the guy.
It's okay.
We all make mistakes.
And that's not even Trubesky's fault.
Like he still has a future.
He's still going to be able to play in his league.
You're going to think I'm crazy.
You know where he actually fits?
He fits in Baltimore.
Lamar, he's actually a very good athlete, a limited.
I think if they gave up on him and I'm Baltimore someday,
I'd be like, Trubisky be the world's best backup for what we do.
I don't know.
But he's not the best starter for the Chicago Bears.
And they're clearly not interested in making a move off of him right now.
So that's going to be an interesting wrestling.
the season. The Aschos have a chance to close out the Nationals at home tonight and win their second
World Series title in three years. The away team has won every game so far, but history might not be
in Washington's favor. No team has ever won the World Series title without winning at least one home game.
Yeah, one game at home. Justin Burlander has yet to win a World Series start, but he's hoping to change
that tonight. He goes up against Stephen Strasbourg. Coverage of game six begins at 7.30 Eastern on Fox.
Strasbourg has the lowest career postseason ERA of active pitchers with the minimum of three stars.
You know, we thought the series was going to be two to one.
We have yet to see the two to one game.
The series isn't gone the way that ends.
No, I mean, Washington was raking the first two games and now Houston's hitting.
So we thought it was going to be the lowest scoring world series ever.
It's gone the opposite.
There's been real runs.
Yep.
Well, it could be all over tonight, but coverage of game six is at 7.30 Eastern on Fox.
Sticking with baseball and the Astros.
Halloween is still two days away,
but Jimmy Graham might have already
won the costume contest. Graham and Packers
assistant trainer, Nate Weir, dressed up
as MLB stars, Aaron Judge,
and Jose Altuve. And
I actually, when I saw this picture, I had to look twice
because it's really, it's that good
costume. Yes.
So he said, had to represent Jose
Altuve and Aaron Judge from the ALCS
at the Packers Halloween party.
We're ready for our local tryouts. They call me
Big Red and I hit tears.
It's really good.
Graham and Aaron Judge are both 6'7.
So I get the Jimmy Graham's playing Aaron Judge.
They're assistant trainer.
Oh, they're assistant trainer.
Yes, is Jose Al-Tube.
But it's really good.
That's funny.
It's really good.
I like the guys are creative and commit fully to the costume.
That's fun.
Joy Taylor with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Ly news.
Coming up, the NFL trades, I want to see, and one may happen.
and that is next and best for last.
We'll give you the very latest.

So it's the NFL trading deadline.
Anything breaks next five or six minutes.
It's all speculation, right?
We'll tell you if stuff breaks, I got my phone with me.
But it is the trading deadline an hour away.
And there's a ton of rumors out there.
And this morning as a staff, we thought, let's take every player that we've heard rumored to be moved, even if they've been denied.
And where would we preferably like them to go?
In an ideal world, joy, where would we like them to go?
So start the music, our best for last.
Here we go.
These are the 10 trades I want to see.
Trent Williams.
I'd like to see him go to the Minnesota Vikings.
The reality is in division,
I think Trent Williams is the kind of guy
that solidifies what has been the weak spot for Minnesota
for about three years with this roster.
They've got running back stars, tight ends, wide receivers,
linebackers who run, good corners and all pro safety
and a pass rusher.
Trent Williams, Minnesota Vikings,
Kansas City Chiefs would not be a terrible spot either.
How about Teddy Bridgewater?
Bears. He's a free agent at the end of the year. Trabisky has five touchdown passes this year.
Fewest in the NFL for anybody that started five games. Now, Jay Glazer just told us the bears feel like they got to give Trabisky the rest of the year.
But I don't understand what are the Saints going to get for him.
Drew Breeze is back in off a fluke injury. Teddy's done playing. Go get a pick for him.
You can get a first round or a second round pick for Teddy Bridgewater if you're the Saints.
How about O.J. Howard, tight-end Tampa to the Patriots.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out since Gronk retired.
They have 14 receptions by the tight end.
That's 31st in the NFL.
He was a great player at Bama.
He's a terrific player for Tampa.
And reportedly, they are willing to listen.
Patriots, go get him.
Lavian Bell.
Okay, it's a Steelers.
Okay, this one's the only one that's not going to happen.
But James Connor got hurt, ACL.
Levian made three pro balls, two first team all pros with Pittsburgh.
It's not going to happen, so I'll move off it.
But I'd like to see Levian Bell and the Steelers, ball control,
take away the heat on Mason Rudolph.
It's almost as if he fit with the Steelers style of play.
It would have been a good piece for them.
Perfectly, right?
So Mason Rudolph doesn't have to throw 32 times.
AJ Green, bingo receiver to the Seahawks.
Listen, their 25th best receiving core, according to Pro Football Focus.
And this organization has good coaches and Russell Wilson, but it feels like they put so much on Russell Wilson.
D.K. Metcalf's a rookie.
Tyler Lockett's a sensational player.
Then it's Jaron Brown.
They need another player.
Go look in their division.
Their defense is not good enough to stop the Niners.
They have to get a playmaker at wide receiver to go along with Lockett and, and, and, and, D.K.,
Metcalf. They're not very good at
tight end either. I think you go out and try to
get Cincinnati white out, A.J.
Green. How about Melvin
Gordon of the Chargers?
Rams.
The Rams and the Chargers are going to share a building
next year. It is not an adversarial
relationship. It is not. The Rams
like the Chargers. The Chargers like the Rams.
They share revenue in the building. One's
NFC and one's AFC. Let's just
admit it. The Rams and
Sean McVeigh's offense is better
with a bell cow back.
and who's kidding who?
He's not that expensive.
Melvin Gordon to the Rams.
Rams are 21st in rushing.
Gurley's health is a concern.
How about Nick Foles?
Quarterback Jags?
Nick Foles to the Bucks.
James Winston leads the NFL in turnover
since he took over 91.
They've got all sorts of weapons.
They need a grown-up who doesn't turn it over.
They need Nick Foles.
And Gardner Minshue for the Jags is four and three.
So pivot.
Pivot.
Remember when the Seahawks went out and got Matt Flynn?
and in camp they pivoted to Russell Wilson. Pivot. Gardner Men choose free. Pivot. Get Nick Foles out.
How about Vaughn Miller, Denver? Ravens? Okay, for the last, since 1997, the Ravens defense
has been ranked higher than their offense. This is the exception. This is a defense-first organization.
They don't have a pass rusher. New England's coming up. If you look at that division, what's Cleveland
weak spot.
Offensive tackle.
You lost to Cleveland.
It neutralizes that.
You're going to play Cleveland one more time.
What's their weakness?
Tackle.
Go get Vaughn Miller.
By the way, Baltimore defense was number one last year.
It is 16th this year.
They need a pass rusher.
How about Odell Beckham of Cleveland?
Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles, and this is a big stat in the NFL,
are 22nd
in yards per play.
They have to do these six-yard,
four-yard, five-yard,
putting enormous pressure on Carson Wentz.
Go get O'Dell Beckham.
The receivers for the Eagles
ranked 26, according to pro football focus,
and for the record,
O'Dell has the fewest yards per game of his career.
He can go to a winning organization.
He exactly what Philadelphia needs.
And Philadelphia's roster
is talented enough. They don't need all their draft picks. They do not need all their draft picks.
And finally, Cam Newton? To the Houston Rockets. Yes, think about it. He's 6-5, Hardin 6-5,
Westbrook 6-3. He's as inaccurate as Westbrook is shooting. And they also unveiled a red carpet
for style. He's the most stylish NFL player. Hardin and Westbrook are into fashion and style.
They unveiled that red carpet. And by the way, Westbrook won an MVP, Hardin one in
MVP, Cam won an MVP, none have
titles, so they would all kind of
be conjoined and fit perfectly. Cam
Newton, Houston Rockets. You don't like
that?
You loved that one. Really,
where do you think Cam should go?
If they stick with Kyle Allen,
which is looking like they're going to do.
It's a great
question. I don't have an answer for that.
You know, I'll throw this out. It won't happen, but
chargers. They can't sell tickets in L.A.
He's a fashion guy. L.A. is perfect.
In L.A. It's not terrible.
No, L.A. Chargers, he's, and by the way, their offensive line is their weakness.
Cam is athletic. They've got to get athletic a quarterback.
And Philip Rivers does not want to move his family to L.A.
And they're playing in L.A. next year. So the Phillip Rivers thing is ending.
Like, it's ending. He's an athletic quarter.
So go get Cam. Sell some tickets.
I like that, actually.
Not a terrible idea. L.A. is great for Cam. Cam would love now to come to this coast and sell his wares and his fashion and his personality.
I think it's a good fit.
I think the Chargers or the Bears are an option for him.
Okay, here we go.
Can we have breaking news?
Hey, Goulet, stop watching the Wire for the Cowboys.
He stopped producing the show 10 minutes ago.
He's just watching Twitter.
He's doing nothing.
I'm prioritizing.
He's giving me hockey scores.
I got nothing from Goulet.
All right, give me a breaking news banner on this or something.
Here we go.
Breaking News.
72 minutes to go, Ian Rappaport says Jamal Adams and the Cowboys.
Here's the latest.
The Jets are asking for more than a first rounder.
Of course they are.
and that deal right now is not close or imminent.
It could happen, but there isn't momentum.
So basically the Jets are saying, we want a one and something else.
Of course they'd want a one and something else.
Yeah, now the something else turns the Cowboys off.
But my takeaway is, again, Dallas, you have so many good players.
How many of these draft picks can make your team?
They don't need linebackers.
Yeah, don't be greedy over draft picks.
Okay, here we go.
Can I have more breaking news here, Goulet?
I mean, seriously.
Breaking news.
I might as well have Whitlock producing my show at this point.
He's getting, I mean, he's not even, Goula's not even paying attention.
He's so into the Cowboys.
Adam Schaefter, barring a last hour change, the Jets do not plan to trade Lavian Bell.
Not enough interest to make a deal.
That's what Schreger told us.
That's what Jay Glazer told us.
So the Lavian Bell thing is not going to happen.
Listen, the Jets aren't hard to figure out.
Lavian Bell is having the worst year of his career, and Darnold got sacked eight times.
You think the Cleveland offensive line's bad?
Go look at the Jets.
It's a disaster.
And the left tackle got hurt.
The guards quit the team.
I mean, it was bad.
Now it's pathetic.
So the Jets just want to rebuild their offensive line.
They want draft picks.
They have a new general manager, Joe Douglas, who's not incompetent.
The previous guy was not very good.
I mean, he just whiffed, outside of the first pick, he whipped on everybody.
So there just has nobody remaining.
It's a mess.
I'll tell you, it's funny about the trade deadline.
for instance, Trent Williams, great player.
The petty Redskins are going to send him to Cleveland instead of New England.
And one of the reasons is, and Pete Schroger talked about this,
is that Washington is not going to let them, they're not going to be bullied by Trent Williams,
who said, I'm not showing up.
You guys, I don't trust your medical staff.
I don't like your team.
This is why I think the NFL should have a thing.
If you've made three Pro Bowls, then you should be able to veto trades.
If you've been an elite player in this league, you should be able to say, no, you can't send me to Siberia.
No.
All Trent Williams has done has been a seven-time pro bowler in nine years.
He should be able to, and you could say, Colin, then all the good players would go to the, yeah, like college sports.
Well, that's why Washington has a reputation it has.
And that's, like I said earlier, if you're petty about trades or you don't want to work with the one particular team because it's about ego.
Right.
Well, then you're going to get what you're asking for.
You should make the best trade for your organization, not for your ego.
This is happening.
What did I say?
What did I say he was going to do?
Okay, hold on.
What?
All right.
You know, what's the point you people send me, crap, and I can't go on the air with it?
You do this once a week.
At least once a week.
People send me stuff, and it's like, don't tell anybody.
Then don't send it to me.
What's the point?
I'm on the air.
It's the herd.
