Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 I'm Joey Dardano, and on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with thoughtful solutions. Sike, I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends as we riff rant and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to me. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast, Point Game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying.
Starting point is 00:01:48 You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis'clock, he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the game.
Starting point is 00:02:00 IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If a baby is giggling in the backseat, they're probably happy. If a baby is crying in the back seat, they're probably hungry. But if a baby is sleeping in the back seat, will you remember they're even there? When you're distracted, stressed, or not usually the one who drives them, the chances of forgetting them in the back seat are much higher. It can happen to anyone. Parked cars get hot fast and can be deadly.
Starting point is 00:02:28 So get in the habit of checking the back seat when you leave. The message from NHTSA and the Ad Council. Welcome in What's Right, Winthropy, episode 395. This episode of What's Right and NickRite is presented to you, as always, by our friends at Boost Mobile. Starting point is 00:02:59 or nice little kind of bite-sized pods for you guys. Go through all the games very quickly, give you our picks. Had a winning week last weekend, even though it didn't feel like that because of what happened with the Chiefs at the end. 3 and 2 on the week, 27 and 28 on the year, which means a great week this weekend and will be above 500. And OK week will be right at 500 and a Blonde. low 500 week, we will have to start digging ourselves out once again.
Starting point is 00:03:33 But our quest of five out of six years, having a profitable, big included season is still alive. Last week we had this. Miami minus two and a half against Washington, they tried their best to give that away, but Marcus Marriota wouldn't let them. Chicago plus three at Minnesota, they tried their best to give that one away after being up 13 in the fourth quarter, but they ended up pulling it out of the fire. They would have covered anyway. They would have lost the game outright. Tampa minus five and a half at Buffalo. I don't hate that bet. That game had, I think, eight lead changes. Tampa was right there. And they even had a
Starting point is 00:04:16 chance for a backdoor cover late and Todd Bowles took knees, killed me. San Francisco minus two and a half at Arizona. That was easy all the way along. So I feel really good about the side I was on on a all four of those. And then Chiefs minus three and a half at Denver. And that bet was never covering. Had an opportunity to be covering. But an extra point got blocked and they lost anyway. So that was a bad one.
Starting point is 00:04:47 And it cost me a lot of money and heartache and heartbreak. But we've talked about that all week. We turned the page. Week 12 gambling show means we're looking ahead to Week 12. and this show is brought to you by our friends at Hard Rock Bet. Great week to try out Hard Rock Bet. Starting point is 00:06:46 We have some big news. What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented. a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people
Starting point is 00:06:57 to do podcasts. A pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But, this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And... Oh, we were thinking, I'm originally
Starting point is 00:07:13 calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, Hey Jonas, and then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Starting point is 00:07:31 Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Starting point is 00:08:33 I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth. Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person.

Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
Starting point is 00:10:14 That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
Starting point is 00:10:38 give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. All right. Here are the games we're not betting this weekend. This might surprise you. India, Kansas City, we are not betting that one.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Now, there is an insane trend on that, that applies to this game, which is, since 1990, there have been 15 instances where a team that's five, and five or worse is favored against a team with an 80 plus percent winning percentage like the Colts do. Those teams that were favored have gone 14 and oh against the spread and 12, I'm sorry, 14 and 0 straight up and 12 0 against the spread. So that is rationale. to ride with Kansas City. I, however, I'm just on an emotional and a logical level
Starting point is 00:12:04 going to say that half point feels ominous. And even though the Chiefs have all of their games, have wins, have been blowouts. So it hasn't mattered. I'm just going, I'm not a superstitious guy, but I'm just going to stay away from it. I hated what I went through last week, and I am anxious about a team that absolutely can be,
Starting point is 00:12:44 has the bones of a team that can be the best team in the entire NFL. I need them to get back to that place. Now, I will add one other thing. Since Andy Reid has been there, predating Mahomes, every single year Andy's been there. They've had a winning streak of at least five games. This year, their longest one is three. Be a hell of a time to rip off a five-game winning streak. Also staying away from New England at Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Cincinnati plus seven. This is, I don't know as of today if Burroughs playing or not. If Burrow is playing, it should be New England by three. Without Burrow, it's New England by seven. So I have to stay away there. Giants at Lions. Lions laying 10 and a half. It feels like a Lions bounce back spot.
Starting point is 00:13:44 However, if that Giants defensive line can create even 40% of the havoc the Eagles defensive line did, they will. you know, they could give golf real trouble. So that part makes me anxious. Jackson Dart is going to be back for the game. I don't know though. Again, I feel like I can make a compelling case
Starting point is 00:14:20 to lay the 10 and a half with Detroit or to grab the 10 and a half with the Giants. And that's why you don't have to bet every game. that's why it's a stay away and we are staying away. Additionally, Minnesota at Green Bay, Green Bay laying six and a half. The Vikings are in real trouble, but the Packers are still getting respect. Like they're a Super Bowl contending team. I'm not sure they are.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Six and a half, right? They barely covered, would have covered six and a half against the, Giants last weekend, Minnesota is better than them. I'm staying away. Philly at Dallas, Dallas getting three at home. Dallas should be able to move the ball. And Philly's offense has been awful. And I understand Dallas just added Quinn and Williams.
Starting point is 00:15:18 However, Dallas has shown the ability to just get, have the ball moved all over the field on them, showed the ability is a weird way to put it. teams have been able to exploit that defense. I don't think Quinn and Williams, despite what we saw against the Raiders, is going to remake that defense by himself. So I don't feel comfortable grabbing Dallas and the points. But given how bad Phillies offense has been,
Starting point is 00:15:49 I also don't feel comfortable laying three points with Philly against a team that can score 30 on anybody. So I'm staying away there. Atlanta at New Orleans, Kurt Cousins, Tyler Shuck, no chance. I'm just staying away. Bad game, gross. Tampa at the Rams,
Starting point is 00:16:08 listen, I believe in Tampa. And you might say, Nick, how much do you believe in Tampa if you're not taking them, getting seven points? I need to pause backing Tampa at this moment of the season. Part of the math on believing in them was the six. the six-game stretch they had after this game, the fact that I thought they had a real shot at the one seed. Now, you lose this game,
Starting point is 00:16:43 any shot you had at the one-seat is dead, but the Rams have looked so good, and Tampa is still banged up, so I'm staying away. And then Carolina at San Francisco, I don't think San Francisco is favored by seven. That feels too rich for a team with their defensive injuries. but Carolina's just been a different team on the road than at home, so I'm staying away.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Teams on buys are Denver, the Chargers, the Dolphins, and the Commanders. It leaves us with these five games, and a reminder, all of these lines are from our friends at Hard Rock Bet. I am rolling with Chicago laying two and a half at home against Pittsburgh. I just, you are either going to get Mason Rudolph, or you're going to get Aaron Rogers with a broken wrist. I don't I don't understand how this game is not three and a half. It feels like a bear's ugly three point win.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Also for Ben Johnson, this kind of, you get a lot of internal credit with the fans in the organization for beating Aaron because in everybody's mind he's still a packer. I think Chicago, is right now a,
Starting point is 00:18:08 the exact same caliber of team as Pittsburgh, but one team's quarterback has a broken wrist, and the other team's quarterback doesn't, and Chicago's at home all take Chicago minus the two and a half. The Jets getting 13 and a half at Baltimore. This is an ugly one, I will admit. however Lamar now is on the
Starting point is 00:18:41 you know mispractice again this week last week was for a knee this week it is for an ankle he has not looked like Lamar since he came back from his injury and he is refusing to run the ball
Starting point is 00:18:56 which is super noteworthy because that has a knock-on effect on how on his passing and on the team's overall efficiency Also, I think the Jets are starting their best option at quarterback and Tyrod Taylor. For all those reasons and the fact that I get nearly two full touchdowns, I will take the 13 and a half points while I will lay the 13 and a half points with Seattle. Seattle is at Tennessee. what that defense is going to do to Cam Ward is going to be borderline criminal.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I do not see how Tennessee can get to 10, maybe 10, but not 13. And so can Seattle get to 24? huge spot for Seattle after the very disappointing loss to the Rams. Bounce back, I still think they're an excellent team. I understand I am laying 13 and a half points on the road, but Seattle prior to that Rams game had won 10 in a row on the road. Tennessee's the worst team in the NFL. I will take Seattle laying the 13 and a half.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Arizona, getting through. at home against Jacksonville. Arizona has not been good. Jacksonville has been okay, but they are coming off Jacksonville, their best win, their most dominating performance of the year, I should say, their best one was Can City.
Starting point is 00:20:50 This is their most dominating. And they are a very up and down team. We've seen it throughout, the year that the Jags are not really able to build on successes. They beat the Chiefs, then immediately lose back to back to the Seahawks and Rams. They beat the Raiders in, you know, not miracle, but the Raiders have a two-point conversion in overtime to beat them. They then respond by blowing a horrifying, by blowing a 19.4th quarter lead to the Texans.
Starting point is 00:21:26 They blow out the chargers. They're now on the road going cross-country to the Cardinals, and I'm getting three whole points. I will take Arizona plus three. And then in a game that might shock the audience that I am including, Cleveland, in Shador's first start, getting three and a half at the Raiders. This is very simple.
Starting point is 00:21:53 that Raiders offensive line against that Brown's defensive line is the single biggest mismatch of the week. I do not care who is playing quarterback for Cleveland. Miles Garrett could set the single game and single season sack record in this game. The all-time sack record for a game is seven. Derek Thomas, late great Kansas City Chief. The all-time sack record for his season is 22 and a half. So if Miles Garrett got eight, he would set the season and game record, he could do that against this Raiders offensive line.
Starting point is 00:22:36 I will take Cleveland plus the three and a half. So my five picks this weekend are the Bears laying two and a half at home against Pittsburgh. The Jets getting 13 and a half at Baltimore. Seattle laying 13 and a half at Tennessee. Arizona getting three against Jacksonville and Cleveland getting three and a half at the Las Vegas Raiders. Before we get to DeManzai's teaser, which won last week? Reminder to you guys, you ever notice how everything keeps going up, rents going up, streaming services are going up. Your favorite burrito spot is charging you extra for Salza.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Not with Booz Mobile though. The Boos Mobile, you and your phone, Bill, don't have to play the will this go up? game. Why? Because Boost Mobile has unlimited talk, text, and data plan at a price that will never go up. In fact, it's the same price you pay for life. So switch now for unlimited wireless at a price that'll never go up only at Boost Mobile. After 30 gigs, customers may experience slower speeds. Customers will pay $25 per month as long as they remain active on the boost unlimited plan. Hey, it's us to Jonas brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news? huge news. All right, DeManzai's teaser last week, wins. I gave it an F. He broke all the teaser rules. It didn't matter.
Starting point is 00:28:04 He had Miami plus five and a half. They win in overtime. He had Houston plus one and a half. They win by three against Tennessee. He had Tampa plus 13 and a half. They lose by 12 to Buffalo. Let's see what DeMonte has this week for his week 12 teaser. Let's go to him.
Starting point is 00:28:29 All right, y'all. Report live from Babyland with the week 12 teaser. It's an 8.3 teamer per usual. You know how we're doing it? I told myself, after what happened to the Chiefs last week with the Broncos, no matter what the spread was against the cults, I was throwing them in the teaser. So first off, we got the Chiefs from minus 3 and a half to plus 4 and a half. We're going to tease the Browns from plus 4 to plus 12 at the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Hey, man, that defense, Geno might throw like four or five picks and then blame it on me for putting them in the teaser. So that's in there. And then we got the Jags at minus 3 to plus 5 at the Cardinals. That is the week 12 teaser. Let's ride. All right. Well done, Demonsay. We love it.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Again, you're breaking, you're teasing through the zero, which we don't love. But I do like this. I don't love the Jags leg. I love the Cleveland leg, and I like the Kansas City leg as much as I could love a leg where you're teasing through the zero. I'll give you a B minus on that one, as you try to get to 500 on your teasers on the year. All right, touchdown Jeannie lost. But again, we've only lost two touchdown genies ever. And both of them were because someone we had got injured early.
Starting point is 00:29:54 One was C.D. Lamb earlier in the year. This one was Josh Jacobs, who left the game early. I will take touchdown genie. No, I won't. I'm staying away from this one. We're staying away this week. If we're not feeling it, we're staying away. I was going to say Pacheco, and then I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:30:26 No, I'm not. I'm staying away from touchdown genie this week. Now, we have the offer, which did hit. We picked the Prince and James both to throw a pick. The offer this week they're offering me is Shador, over 160 passing yards. yards and over half a passing touchdown. I do not want Shador's over passing yards. So I turn this down.
Starting point is 00:30:55 And in fact, in, you know what? In place of touchdown, Jeannie, just go ahead and bet Shador under 160 and a half passing yards. Ride with that one. They're going to have a lead. They're not going to want to turn the ball over. Shador under 160 and a half passing yards. That one sounds like a better bet. Minus 110.
Starting point is 00:31:15 No big deal. Reminder, everybody. Like, rate, subscribe, review, and shout out to the volume and the Blue Duck. And, of course, our great sponsors, Hard Rock Bet, Boost, and Zan. Good luck, everybody this weekend, most notably the Chiefs. Talk to you guys. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers.
