Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Winning on Clay is an art. The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs' tennis podcast for no-nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris. She can win.
Starting point is 00:01:21 She's an outsider to win the French fame. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lina Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any service. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcasts on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
Starting point is 00:01:57 and we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Welcome in to our weekly gambling show,
Starting point is 00:02:19 episode 374 of What's Right, Minnick, this episode is brought to you as always by our friends at Boost Mobile. Also, we usually bring you straight to voicemail, brought you by Boost Mova. We don't do that on the Friday gambling shows. Maybe we should start doing that. Our friends at Boost Mova, serve all the love they can get. Reminder to you guys, like, rate, subscribe, review
Starting point is 00:02:38 to the pod. That's how you get these immediately as they come out. And reminder, all our lines are courtesy of hard rock bet. All right, DeMonse. I've been scuttling along through September. Now on Thursday's
Starting point is 00:02:55 show, I discussed how the whole league, you know, September, is kind of like an extended preseason at this point. Maybe that was me coping with that for me and the picks. September's been a bit of an extended preseason. It hasn't been for you with the teasers. Last week, another two and three week, which drops us to two games under 500 for the year 9 and 11 on the week.
Starting point is 00:03:22 We can go through those picks real quick before we get to what we're liking for this week. I had the Minnesota Pittsburgh game all wrong. I just thought Minnesota's defense was going to shut down Rogers. Instead, he got the ball out immediately. And, you know, was 18 of 22, was crisp. I know it came down to the end. It shouldn't have. Pittsburgh kind of butchered the end of that game,
Starting point is 00:03:46 but they obviously still won. I had Minnesota laying two and a half. Cleveland at Detroit was a bad pick. I thought the Cleveland defense would be able to hold up long enough, but Flacco's just been so bad and can't stop, you know, just can't have any extended drives so Detroit wins easily. Jacksonville plus three at San Francisco was, you know, they were basically covering the entire game.
Starting point is 00:04:11 I said they could win outright. They did win outright. Kansas City plus two and a half against Baltimore, a vintage, never a doubter. They are leading basically the entirety of, from midway point of the first quarter until the end of the game. And then Cincinnati plus seven and a half at Denver was brutal. I thought Cincinnati was going to have some pulse, but they did not.
Starting point is 00:04:37 And they seemed defeated by the loss of Borough. Go ahead. Are we thinking about putting them on the no bet list? Because, I mean, they just screwed you over this week. And I put them in a teaser. And you could have doubled the teaser a couple weeks ago and it still wouldn't hit. So. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:52 So, you know what? we have to see how the market has reacted to how bad they've been. Because sometimes a team plays its way seemingly on the no-bet list, but they're so bad that they then get so many points. But I know this is one of those instances, and they just get annihilated. However, despite going two and three, I did win the most important bet of the week last week.
Starting point is 00:05:18 It was against you. Here's how it sounded. The one big meal kitchen cleanup responsibilities are yours and yours, like, you're not going to be any, you're going to have, you're the one that tells your mom, I lost a bet. I have to do this. He's not allowed to. Yeah, I'll take it. Thanksgiving's rough, but, but yeah, all whether that's good from credit. That's why I added that shark card.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Because I, yeah, okay. All right. We have a best. do it. All right. Can't wait. That's a top one for you, pal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:57 The Ravens let you down. I don't know, man. I was thinking that maybe I was going to have Thanksgiving at my apartment this year. Wow. Wow. This guy is going to skip just, what a Photoshop. Great job. Great job by our producers.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I love that. When have I ever even made that face and like it had been captured? Like, what's going on? No way to tell. I mean, I don't know. Maybe that's AI. dishes on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, Christmas sometime.

Starting point is 00:09:00 So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band. Before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
Starting point is 00:09:21 We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.

Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro.

Starting point is 00:11:13 Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost the time. It's mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines.
Starting point is 00:11:30 We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered. SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:12:04 All right, Damase, let's quickly go through the games. Keep in mind, Falcons, Bears, Packers, Steelers, on a buy. and so four games miss or four teams missing so the first week of buys is right now games we're not getting to uh we're not getting a thursday night obviously rams or but uh london londing game minnesota versus cleveland cleveland is underdogs by four points we're staying away from yeah i listen i in theory i like the minnesota defense against a rookie quarterback in his first start but i thought Minnesota was so disappointing last week in Dublin that I'm not laying points with them, so that's a stay away.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Next. Miami at Carolina, Carolina, at one point dogs. I stared at this one for a long time thinking about Miami. Yeah. But Miami without Tua, I'm sorry, without Tyreek, and with how decidedly mediocre they've been. I like Waddle, but I just wonder if Waddle starts getting doubled because Tyreeks not out there. I don't know. This was a stay away.
Starting point is 00:13:18 I also don't want to have any reason to watch this game. The tie went to. It's not watchable, so I stayed away from it. That's fair. You got the Giants at New Orleans, New Orleans minus two. This felt like a track. Like, I don't know of anyone in the world. that it's going to be like,
Starting point is 00:13:47 hey, guess what I feel great about this weekend? Laying points with the New Orleans Saints. So it just feels like they are begging you, begging you to take the Giants. So I, now, maybe that means I should just take the Saints. But I can't lay the points. I can't lay points with Spencer Rattler. But it feels like such a trap
Starting point is 00:14:12 that I'm just staying away from it. Like it seems like, like it should be giants minus one and a half and it's New Orleans minus two it's weird next uh Tampa Bay at Seattle Seattle's three and a half point favorites I had this in my picks Tampa plus three and a half and I took it out at the last second um I leaned Tampa in this game obviously but because of they all of a sudden now bucky irving is injured as well and the going from Tampa all the way to Seattle scared me a bit so I leaned tamper I was going to include them.
Starting point is 00:14:47 I took them out last second, so that's why I'm not doing it. Next. Tennessee at Arizona, Arizona's seven and a half point favorites. I would, I will never lay more than a touchdown with Kyler Murray, but I swore on TV, I swore on my children, believe it or not, that I would not pick Tennessee no matter how many points they were getting until Brian Callahan was gone. So this could be Tennessee plus seven. and I'm not allowed to pick them because your guys' lives depend on it. So that's a stay away. Next.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Thanks, pops. We got Washington at the Chargers, Chargers, two and a half, my favorites. I lean Washington, but until I see Jaden play in a game post-injury, they're just to stay away. But I do lean Washington, but I just want to see the quarterback play. Next. Detroit at Cincinnati, Cincinnati's 10-point dogs? I mean, so many points at home. It's like you said, like we're just staying away from the Bengals for now.
Starting point is 00:15:50 And in this last one, I think it's probably surprised you that I'm staying away, but go ahead. Yeah, it does. You got Kansas City at Jacksonville, Jacksonville's three and a half point dogs. Yeah, I could, I just see a lot of scenarios where KC is in control of this game, but wins by three. And I, you know, I'm not betting against the, people ask me, do you bet on, do you bet on the chiefs? every weekend. The answer to that's no. I don't bet on the Chiefs every weekend, but I never bet against them.
Starting point is 00:16:23 At 2 and a half, I'd like Kansas City. At 3 and a half, I like Jacksonville, so I'm just staying away. All right, next. Let's go to our actual picks, pal. You've got Baltimore plus 1.5 versus Houston. Yeah. I think Baltimore's
Starting point is 00:16:39 going to win. And I think there is added value here because 10 days ago, this game was Baltimore minus nine and a half. Right after Chiefs Ravens ended, it was Baltimore minus seven and a half. Monday morning, it was Baltimore minus six and a half. Then the Lamar News comes out and the line moves eight full points to Houston minus one and a half.
Starting point is 00:17:09 I think there is a chance Lamar plays. If Lamar plays, this game. game will kick off at Baltimore minus six if he plays. Even if he doesn't play, I think that running Derek Henry 30 plus times could be an effective strategy. I don't trust Houston at all. And I don't, I think people didn't watch Texans Titans and therefore see the 26 to nothing final.
Starting point is 00:17:43 I'm like, oh, the Texans got rolling again. No, they did not. They had a good fourth quarter. They could, like, that was 6-0 late in that game. So I like Baltimore. I obviously love Baltimore if Lamar plays. Even if he doesn't play, I think Baltimore plus one and a half is the right side. Next.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Dallas minus two and a half at the Jets. Yeah. Justin Fields, you've seen this, has played 25, has started 25 career games. games where his defense allowed more than 20 and he's 0 and 25. Every single one of Justin Fields career wins, his defense allowed 20 or less. And I think Dallas can score on anybody. The Jets defense is allowing 30 a game. I think Dallas can score.
Starting point is 00:18:36 I'll lay the two and a half. Yeah, I'll lay the two and a half with Dallas. I the it's basically again it's not just when because we see a lot of one and two point victories these days but Aubrey being you know nails Dak playing the best of his life the Cowboys bad past defense I don't know that the Jets can take advantage of it all take Dallas minus two and a half being the Jets um yeah Philly minus three uh Philly minus three and a half against Denver yeah listen um I did not know this. Denver hasn't beaten Philly since John Elway was their quarterback.
Starting point is 00:19:15 That's hilarious. It's been 30 years. But they also only play once every four years, so it's not that big of a deal. But Bo Nicks and the Denver Broncos have not shown me they can beat good teams.
Starting point is 00:19:31 For two years, they play well against bad teams. They play poorly against good teams. They are what Bill Simmons would call the good, bad team. They have a great defense, but I, listen, the hook scares me a bit, but this feels like a Philly six point win.
Starting point is 00:19:53 I just don't think that until I see Denver do it against a team that we believe to be a playoff team anytime in the last two years they haven't, I'm going to roll against them, and Philly being at home and only being at home and only being favored by three and a half feels a little disrespectful. It's a little too respectful to Denver and a little disrespectful to Philly. So I'll take Philly,
Starting point is 00:20:20 despite all the noise around them, minus the three and a half. Next. Vegas plus six and a half at Indy. That's a lot of points. Last chance saloon here for my Raiders. Yeah. And they need a win
Starting point is 00:20:37 to stay viable in the, could they sneak into the playoffs conversation? They need to stay close to stay viable and though. Why aren't they one of the worst teams in football? They beat the Patriots. Since then, they've looked bad. Now, I did like how Genti played last week. And I just got to think that Gino is going to stop turning the ball over two or three times a game.
Starting point is 00:21:06 like Gino's better than he has looked. The Colts also, listen, the Colts have looked awesome. I'm still not a full-fledged believer. And so I'm getting six and a half. I think the Raiders could surprise them. The Colts have not had a good run defense. And Genti could eat again. Now that he's back to his Michael Meyer stance,
Starting point is 00:21:29 I'll take the Raiders plus six and a half at Indy. Yeah, you got New England plus seven and a half. have Buffalo. Listen, Buffalo has played some of the worst teams in the league post Baltimore. I know Baltimore's got a bad record. They're not one of the worst teams of the league. They've played the Jets, the Dolphins, and the Saints. That Dolphins game was close late.
Starting point is 00:21:51 The Saints game was a two-point game in the fourth quarter. The Patriots had been able to move the ball this year when they're not turning it over. I'm getting more than a touchdown when it's the best in the division, versus the second best in the division. And I think that you can run on the bills a bit. I don't really trust the bill's defense. I don't expect New England to win, but do I think 31, 24, 30 to 30 to 27?
Starting point is 00:22:23 Do it like backdoor cover? I just like New England getting seven and a half at Buffalo. Divisional matchup, huge spot for Vrable and Drake May. I just like it. So my five picks are. We're going with three dogs, two favorites. Baltimore, getting one and a half at home against Houston. Dallas laying two and a half at the Meadowlands against the Jets.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Philly laying three and a half at home against Denver. And then two road dogs, Las Vegas getting six and a half at Indy and New England getting seven and a half at Buffalo. Starting point is 00:26:52 And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. All right, DeManzai, tell the audience about your winning teaser last week and then let's see what you got this week. The three team, eight points are at plus 100. We had the Chiefs to plus 10.5.
Starting point is 00:27:08 That hit. Never a doubt. Plus 10 and a half. There were some doubts there. Never a doubt. And then we had Green Bay until plus one and a half. Those last. A lot of doubt.
Starting point is 00:27:20 But hey, vindication on the never teased through zero. The reason you don't, I don't know if people have ever understood, Why the reason you don't tease through zero is because on the way through there, right? Well, yeah, and because the idea is you're net, it's being able to win at zero only happens. Like you are buying, you got to look at teasers as you are buying each point. Okay. So it was Green Bay minus six and a half.
Starting point is 00:27:57 So when you tease them to plus one, one and a half, what you are doing is you are buying, I now win if Green Bay wins by six. I win if Green Bay wins by five. I win if Green Bay wins by four. I win if Green Bay wins by three. I win if Green Bay wins by two. I win if Green Bay wins by one. Those are six points you've bought.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And then it's like, but you don't tease through zero because one of the points you went on is a tie. And there's no ties. I now win if it's a tie. There was a tie. Yeah, I was supposed to say. zero is what saved you my six point teaser of green bay down to minus a half would have lost yeah and you're eight point well that's a push right what do you mean no push of green you said green
Starting point is 00:28:46 bay plus a half wait plus a half no green bay plus a half would have been a winner green bay minus a half is what it would have been was a loser yeah because no they're they tied i and so you're teasing You teased through zero in a game that ended in a tie. I'm just, it's unbelievable. It's perfect. So that's another winner. I gave you an A minus. All right, you're three and one on the year.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Next. So three team eight point teaser this year. There's going to be a lot of three team eight point teasers, guys. At plus 100, we got Miami to plus seven. And then we are teasing New England up to plus 16. And we are going through the zero like we did on Miami. With Kansas City as well, it's plus four and a half. So, yeah, I'm feeling pretty strongly about that.
Starting point is 00:29:36 I had some other stuff in there before, but this is this is what we're doing. I mean, listen, dolphins are playing the Panthers. Darren Waller connections hitting. Tangers did beat a team 30 to nothing this year. It's a, just keep that in mind.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Listen, the Falcons rookie quarterback. I'm 9-11 this year and you're three and one. So far be it for me. But I have to give this a C minus. My first bad grade. Your first bad grade. Miami scares me.
Starting point is 00:30:13 You're getting almost no key numbers with New England. I mean, I guess you're getting 10 and 14. And the chiefs you're teasing through the zero. I just listen. I'm moving for it. You're saying I'm getting no key numbers with New England. You're like 10 and 14. You took them like plus.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I get those two key numbers, but I, I just don't, I'm just being honest. All right, bad, he says bad teaser. I'm, like I saw Victor, I'm going to be mocking you guys on Tuesday. But yes, I, I straight away. That's fine. I'm not, listen, I'm not killing you for it. And what do I know? All right.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Let's get to the offer for this week because the offer is red hot. So we're going to capitalize on the good vibes in New York. So parley. Wait, wait, wait. Oh, wait, we got to talk about how we won last week. Yeah, last week's offer, we had Kelsey plus four and a half, four receptions and Parsons over to basically get a sack at plus 146 or a half sack, sorry. And Parsons got his sack at the end of the game.
Starting point is 00:31:17 In the waning moments of overtime and it was a borderline because it was, it was, he kind of got to the line of scrimmage. Well, the line of scrimmage is a sack. Zero yards is a. sack. But if they had said he had gone six inches past line, it wouldn't have been. So we got, so we hit our offer again. All right, next. Shout out to Micah.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Parlay Camp Scadaboo touchdown in Jackson Dart over 24 and a half Russian yards at plus 150. Scadaboo has scored in two or four weeks. Dart ran 10 times for 54 yards last week. But yeah. So you taking that? That's a great offer. We're taking it. Scatabot, TD, dart, running around.
Starting point is 00:32:05 That's insane. Great, great job, guys. Great job. What a way, what a way to finish it. What a way to celebrate my birthday. Let's go. Good job. Great, great offer, guys.
