Starting point is 00:00:00 No Joe Biden. Joe Joe. Joe Joe's therapist. I'm concerned about that show for one reason. I've seen some infighting taken to the Twitter streets. Uh-oh. With academics and Joe Biden? Academics, Joe, and then also Rory.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Rory's doing some tweets about how Joe's taking all his talking points and using them drop that I see academics like they're making edits I saw those tweets too Andrew Rory looking salty turn it down
Starting point is 00:00:33 let's make jokes you simply just don't know as much as you do we can make jokes over this hey Andrew I've seen Rory's tweets too Rory looking a little salty in these streets
Starting point is 00:00:41 I don't know man Rory's never been sarcastic it's looking like It's looking like it's some beef. Some in-house hate. Is the podcast breaking up? All right, turn it up. Let me hear what he's saying.
Starting point is 00:00:51 All these new artists Joe don't know about, that's you. You can school him on that. Exactly, yeah. But don't try to school him on the industry because academics,
Starting point is 00:00:58 you've done nothing in the industry. And I'm not saying this out of, this is my guy. I love academics. That's my man. I talk to him on the phone. I try to give him pointers because I think he's talented.
Starting point is 00:01:06 He is. You don't know anything about the industry yet. That's true. So you can't lean on your industry experience. You can't lean on what you think you know. Focus on what you're good at. That's it. You shoot threes, shoot threes.
Starting point is 00:01:15 That's it. You can't lean on what you know. Andrew, stop shooting threes. Joe Budden's telling you how this shit is. You're leaning on what you think you know. You're on the outside looking in. Joe Budden is an actual insider. You're dealing with an expert.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Yes. This is somebody who has 20 years experience inside the industry. All it is is true. You have to give leeway to him when he's talking points. Give me my leeway. My concern is this,
Starting point is 00:01:32 and this is what I'll say to Rory, to academics, and to Joe. Give Rory. You have something that people are talking about. We're talking about right now the brilliant idiots. We've never once talked about a- I mean, we're talking about Joe Budden. Yes, y'all have.

Starting point is 00:02:03 On Brilliant Idiots It's a big platform You have something that's working. Regardless if you guys are- I don't want to hear this shit anymore. It's working and people are talking about it. I agree with that. I only wanted to play this.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Joe Budden Podcast. My name is Joe Budden. Across from me is Rory Lanes to his- Which way is that? Left is mall. Yes, high school dropout. School dropout.

Episode number 100 and can I even go on? 11, I think. 111, that's big. Yeah. Wait, I might be lying.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Should make a wish. Oh, that's 1111. Should make a wish. I make a wish anytime the clock is all the same number. How's that going for you? How's that going for you? I would like to know. Tell me why that's funny to y'all. I'm a joke. How's it going? you? How's that going for you? I would like to know. Tell me why that's funny to y'all.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I'm a joke? How's it going? I'm a joke? I'm a clown to y'all? Yes, yes. You make us laugh. You are a clown. I'm like, PlayStation to y'all?
Starting point is 00:03:14 Niggas and stuff? Y'all definitely ain't see Casino. Fuck out of here, man. That wasn't Casino. That was Goodfellas. Whatever movie it was, you didn't see it. Joe, that was Goodfellas. Listen, a lot to get to.
Starting point is 00:03:23 I say that even when it ain't a lot to get to. I say that even when it ain't a lot to get to. You do say that when it's not a lot to get to. Every time we have nothing to talk about. But we find it, though. We find some shit to get to, though. Yeah, we're going to find it. It's a lot to get to today. I wanted to start with that Charlamagne shit because his assessment of me was great.
Starting point is 00:03:37 That was a very valid. That was the first time I heard that. That was a valid. What he was saying was, I'm no longer an underground rapper Joe guy. No, you're an industry puppet now, to be quite honest. That's what he was saying was, I'm no longer underground rapper Joe guy. No, you're an industry puppet now, to be quite honest. That's what he was saying. You are. You have more industry than him.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Shut the fuck up, Rory. I'm just saying. You're trolling right now. No, I'm not. But he wasn't trolling. So I called Charlamagne. And I wanted to tell him the differences that I thought were there. Complex is not going to censor me.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Yet, yet. They have no ties to any record labels. That's not the business. This is why you are an industry puppet, because they do have ties to mad record labels, and you're just giving the spiel that they don't. I get it. You're doing what you thought Chance was doing, being fake independent, but really backed. I get it. You're really an industry puppet now.
Starting point is 00:04:24 I believe you, Charlamagne. I'm on your side. They didn't teach me that in the complex training before I got the job. In your HR meeting? Oh, they gave you training? I did make up a title for myself and put it in my Twitter bio. I was going to put it in the group chat so we can make fun of me, but fuck it. Wait, it's in your Twitter bio right now?
Starting point is 00:04:39 100%. Oh, my God. Go look. Hold on. I learned that in corporate America. They teach me to make up titles. Your Twitter bio? To make up a title.
Starting point is 00:04:47 You didn't know how to put something in your Twitter bio before corporate America? I didn't know how to make up a title. Shut up, Rory. Look at Maul. Look at him. But look at Maul. Chief cultural director. Wait, no.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Wait, what? Wait. Wait. Wait. Whoa. Wait, Maul said. Wait, what? Chief cultural director for complex media.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Yo. Wait, hold on. All right. You're the chief cultural director? You just read that, right? So why are you questioning the chief? Because it's a Twitter bio. Why are you questioning the chief?
Starting point is 00:05:20 Why are you questioning the chief? Who's the chief? Me. Get the fuck out of here. I'm not the chief? No. What village? The chief cultural director. What tribe? What tribe are you questioning the chief? Who's the chief? Me. Get the fuck out of here. I'm not the chief? No. Of what village? The chief cultural.
Starting point is 00:05:28 What tribe? What tribe are you the chief of? Why is everyone hating? I'm so glad I just found, I'm so glad I just saw this. Because I wouldn't look at your bio. Like, I don't look at, you know, I don't click on your bio. You're too busy letting the like handle on Instagram. You can't like a bio.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Liking toddlers. Chief cultural director. Well, he came with the chief. Listen. Oh, you want to stop saying that? Molly's the chief liker? The chief cultural. I am the chief liker.
Starting point is 00:05:58 That nigga is the head CEO of Like Records. Like Records. Like Records is a funny ass name for a label he's the CFO of the double tap yeah that nigga's the art department
Starting point is 00:06:12 of Like Records right everything right mad records coming out too holy shit alright they doing numbers
Starting point is 00:06:19 have you looked at your timeline where do we where do we start this week so much is important breaking news breaking news well it's not breaking if it's tomorrow if it's Wednesday but Have you looked at your timeline? Where do we start this week? So much is important. Breaking news, breaking news. Well, it's not breaking if it's tomorrow, if it's Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:06:32 But who did you say just passed away, unfortunately? Christopher Big Black Boykins from Robin Big. Died at 45. I just read that when we were. Damn. I don't know. Rest in peace, man. I used to watch that show.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I'm scared. They had a great dynamic. It was a really good show. Rest in peace man I used to watch that show I'm scared They had a great dynamic It was a really good show Yeah Rest in peace They just call me old and shit Cause I'm 36 The 40s is what's scary To me
Starting point is 00:06:53 Not because you're any less cool In your 40s 40s is great 40s I feel like You on God's radar now If you You on God's radar now. If you may. You're on God's radar now.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Somehow you managed to sneak by living recklessly in your 20s and maybe some of you for your 30s. He saw you in the back of the party and said, how long have you been there? At your 40th birthday, God is watching. That's when he starts watching, at 40. Yeah, paranoid me thinks that.
Starting point is 00:07:25 So I'm just paranoid. Let me knock on wood. Knock on apple. Let me knock on the mic. I'm knocking on life records. I'm knocking on fucking everything. I'm knocking on life. Fuck you, Joe.
Starting point is 00:07:34 This is crazy. All right. So let's start with Nikki. Sure. Shouts to Nikki. What did Nikki do? She went on social media and somebody had questioned her about paying off a college loan. And she said, yeah, send me your grades.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And, you know, and so she started paying some of her fans a college loan, their tuition, which was dope. Has anyone received the money yet? I'm just here to be a hater. I'm sure they have. Because if not, we would have heard about it. No, I think that's phenomenal that she's doing that. I think encouraging kids to. But let's just not throw up. I'm sure she did. I'm sure she has. Well, let's have some fun with it, though. not, we would have heard about it. No, I think that's phenomenal that she's doing that. I think encouraging kids to— But let's not throw a I'm sure she did.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Well, let's have some fun with it, though. Okay, let's have fun with it. All of them are still in the red. We'll be graduating soon, though. I agree with— Can you imagine standing in line for fucking admissions for like four hours on the first day of school, and they run up like, nah, B, nothing came through. And you're like, well, no, Miss Minaj said she sent the check-in.
Starting point is 00:08:28 Yeah, Nikki said it clear. Definitely don't have to stand in line for admissions in 10th grade. I don't think there's admissions in 10th grade. I left after the 10th grade. I don't know what Rory is talking about. There was a lot of education going on out there. You know what's funny? I get a lot of the dropout jokes like Rory didn't get kicked off.
Starting point is 00:08:44 He's the only white person to get kicked off the track team. Well, no, no, no, no. I was kicked out of school, but the track team was at school. See? I was still on the team. Didn't you have like a track scholarship or some shit? A full Division I track scholarship, yes. Talk about a nigga ruining his white privilege.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Talk about a nigga just throwing his white privilege to the side, Rory. Can't hang around too many black people. And now he's stuck with you and me. We'll ruin you. Where did this go? Where was I going to go?
Starting point is 00:09:10 The Olympics? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Fucking with black people and drinking Henny. Yeah, word. See what he gets you?
Starting point is 00:09:16 You don't want these black problems, man. I don't. I don't at all. He want now. He kind of do something. He kind of do. Clearly.
Starting point is 00:09:22 I don't know what the Manny Palooza boys be doing, man. But it's a lot of black niggas. Rory, right there, slap in the middle of it. 100%. But, no, there's nothing to say about the Nicki shit. It's dope.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I thought that was pretty dope. Yeah, I was just being a dick. I think it is really dope. I do. I still have theories about it. But now is not the time. It's not the time for theories. It's such a noble move.
Starting point is 00:09:44 It's such a great move that who cares why? Let's let that live for a minute. Who cares why she's doing it? Right. I don't care why. Right. It's a great move
Starting point is 00:09:50 and it's smart. You know what? Now, I saw French also did some noble shit. Yeah? He went to noble? No, Rory.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Oh. That was you and a French girl. He went to no good No French was He did something real dope Like he Adopted somebody
Starting point is 00:10:11 Donated money somewhere He did some real dope shit And I was like Yo These niggas is Bodying this This shit now Right
Starting point is 00:10:19 If y'all adopting kids Yo if that shit If the new way to stump Is adopting children. If you are Angelina Jolene, your album rolled out. That's crazy. I'm commending you. You won.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yeah, you won. You bigger than Life Records. You can't sign to Life Records. That's out of our budget. We ain't doing that. So the Nicki shit was dope. So we're there. Opening close on that.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Wait, you didn't tell us how the guy passed away. Oh, it says unknown. It happened this morning. It's always unknown until we get to it. Of course, but you know. I get it. Aaron Hernandez, his murder conviction was thrown out. Was he raised?
Starting point is 00:10:57 Today, yeah. Yeah. And I asked on Twitter, because that's the best place to get a question answered, if this means that his family is going to get that money entitled to his contract. And it was like split. Half of lawyer Twitter said yes. The other half of lawyer Twitter said no. Lawyer Twitter is funny.
Starting point is 00:11:13 So I think even if they legally have to, I don't see Robert Kraft giving that money to the Hernandez family. I don't see Roger Goodell. I don't see anybody in the league. I see them creating a lot of red tape for that family. Even if it's legal and they have to, they're going to keep them in court until they can't afford it anymore and they settle. $100, settle for $500 and a drink from Bernice.
Starting point is 00:11:36 But, I mean, it's unfortunate. It would be nice of the NFL, even though they don't have a heart, to just try to make good for the daughter, at least, out of this terrible situation that has happened because he was killing within the in-laws of the family so a lot every both sides suffered money might help this daughter but there but there but now they investigate they're looking at his brain to see if he had CT uh present CT I don't even yeah I thought that was Jesus record label well it is that is, but that's when you have concussions.
Starting point is 00:12:05 That's what that movie was about. Oh, with Will Smith. Yeah, okay. So if that was the case... Wait, wait, wait. All right, so the NFL has been trying to get away from this CTE shit forever,
Starting point is 00:12:14 but the moment it may benefit them for a psychopath killing himself in prison, now they're all for this shit? No, the family is... Let me tell you something about Roger Goodell. He lied!
Starting point is 00:12:23 Y'all niggas worship him! I don't worship Robert Cadell. He definitely lied. He did lie. Lied! Robert Krafton lied a lot too, but he cool.
Starting point is 00:12:32 But he cool, yeah. We give him a... No, he ain't. Nah, I fuck with him. Why do you fuck with him? I hate Robert Kraft. I fuck with people that wear Air Force Ones
Starting point is 00:12:39 with suits. Fucking lied! While they shake Trump's hand? No. No. Not while they shake Trump's hand? No. No. Not why they shake Trump's hand. What else went on? I don't know if I have much to say about the Aaron Hernandez shit.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Because it's like not enough. It's not enough. It's touchy. It's still ongoing, too. It's touchy. I want to have respect for the victim's families. With Rory, I want the kid to be okay. They didn't have anything
Starting point is 00:13:07 to do with anything. Apparently, he said in the note, y'all are rich. Right. So this was a plan of his. He clearly did some research. And he said in the beginning of the note,
Starting point is 00:13:17 I told you this without telling you already. I gave you the sign this was happening. So obviously, there was something. This was a plan he had. Can I get you gentlemen's thoughts on women doing bids with their locked up significant others?
Starting point is 00:13:33 What are the bid rules? What are you guys' thoughts on bid rules? I'll go last. I don't want to go to jail. How long is the sentence that I'm doing? Yeah, because that's key. That's very key. Oh, let's keep it light.
Starting point is 00:13:50 A year and a half. Oh, you got to hold that down. You got to completely hold that down. Yeah. Write me. Keep my commissary full. Yo, men are great. All that shit.
Starting point is 00:13:57 You got to hold. A year and a half? She got to hold that down. Come on, man. If I'm doing 10, just write me. Keep my commissary full. Be there mentally. You can do whatever you want. Just don't tell me, just write me, keep my commissary full, be there mentally, you can do whatever you want,
Starting point is 00:14:06 just don't tell me about it. Listen, if Rory is doing 10, that penny palooza party went horribly wrong. Listen. Knock on apple. A year and a half,
Starting point is 00:14:17 she got to eat that though. She can't, she got to hold that down. All right, I guess what I'm getting to is when are you... I might have parole soon. When are y'all
Starting point is 00:14:24 a bit more lenient? When would you understand her, you know what I'm getting to Is when I might have parole soon Like come on When are you When are y'all a bit more lenient When would you understand Her You know what I mean Get closer to the three here Mark But three means you get out And fucking One and a half down there
Starting point is 00:14:35 No I'm saying if you Oh if you have to do the three Yeah like if you in there for three years Then how would you would expect Just make sure I'm straight Man Nah No Nah you can't fuck nobody I got a three year bid What No then you would expect... Just make sure I'm straight. Man, no.
Starting point is 00:14:45 No. No, you can't fuck nobody. I got a three-year bid. What? No. You got... Listen, man. I said no. A year and a half,
Starting point is 00:14:53 a year and a half, that's it. I'm the chief. What are you talking... Wait, you think they're going to disobey the chief? You're going to be chief disappointed. That's who you're going to be. I'm going to be complex. Exactly. Perplexed, all the plexes I'm going to be complex. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Exactly. Perplexed. All the plexes. Three years, she busting that thing over. Oh. Look at that. Yeah. With someone you know, too. No, not my baby.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Okay. Only malls girls. The likes didn't keep them there. Yeah, yeah. They wasn't feeling like records. Once you're not in the little heart section of Instagram, you're no longer. Listen, I'm freestyling this whole show. I've been talking all day and all week.
Starting point is 00:15:29 I'm letting Rory pull up. There's too much shit to talk about, so y'all pull him up and we'll just discuss him. Fuck that. Let's talk about Joe's friend of the show, not Maul and I's friend of the show. Yes, Jules seemed to get herself into some hot water this week. That was my radio voice. Our old boy showed her the sex tape. Showed her the sex tape.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Is it even really considered sex tapes anymore? Is that still a term? I guess. It's not really a term. Are we desensitized to sex? It's like a sex slide. Yeah, but I'm just saying, is that still a big deal? Sex trailer.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Is that a big deal to see a girl having sex? Yeah, it's a sex teaser. No, it's not, but we still going to talk about it. Yeah, but it's like we're men, and men are easily entertained. I thought, yeah. I normally don't. Well, I'm in love, but the sex tape normally don't do anything to add to the chick's allure. It normally hurts it.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Yeah, I was going to say. You kind of look at them different. It depends on how good or how bad the sex tape is. Because if it's great, like, if she looks great and she's like, you know, then it could help. Alright. Did Yes Jules' tape help or hurt at
Starting point is 00:16:37 all? I don't really even want to talk about it. I don't think it did. I don't think it hurt her. It didn't seem to hurt, right? No. I think other things that she's done on social media has hurt more than that. Like what? Tell me some of those.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Well, the shirt she said she wanted to wear. Yeah, clearly. Well, clearly that. But I mean, some things before that. What was the other thing that happened?
Starting point is 00:16:56 The shit that came back about the black girl thing. I think that hurt more than that sex thing. All right, let's stop right there. Let's deal with that. Let's deal with that for a second.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Women, it's no nice way to say this. We're looking for a nice way to say this. I know that's your man on the gram, but come on. I was trying to find a nice way to say it, but fuck it. Wait, what is it that you're going to say before you say something? I'm not going to say nothing too crazy, but I'm just saying women. Wait, what were you just talking about? Jules, sex tape?
Starting point is 00:17:31 Jules and her black women friend. Oh, women that are not of color. Yeah. Anytime you start talking about all the black men want me and not y'all, you come off away. I don't, why am I the first person to say, why, how come nobody,
Starting point is 00:17:50 Jules has enough black friends. Why am I the only one saying this? You might not be the only one saying it. Clearly I'm the only one saying this. Saying what exactly? What are you saying? That she should be a bit more aware of how she comes off a bit more i mean after she's already been getting killed for over a year about
Starting point is 00:18:11 how she takes from black culture and what she gives to it is insulting yeah but you know when you come and do she can't for for all that she's built i can't say she's a stupid girl she has to have some intelligence so to post a shirt like, knowing what you've been through already, I have no sympathy for you. You're a fucking idiot. I didn't understand that. You're stupid. You're just dumb.
Starting point is 00:18:33 She should definitely be more conscious of what she's doing. Jules' area of expertise would be marketing. I don't know. Listen, I didn't really know about that. Jules is a brand ambassador. Okay. Now I know that it's cool to make fun of that term.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah. But she's booked. She gets booked. She gets gigs. She does business. She's connected, it seems, right? She's been successful.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I don't think anyone would say she's been unsuccessful. I'm the chief more or less. No, she's the chief of vibes. Yeah, she's the chief of vibes. She curates the vibes. That's what I know her from. She's's the chief of vibes. Yeah, she's the chief of vibes. She curates the vibes. That's what I know her from. She's definitely the chief of vibes.
Starting point is 00:19:08 I feel like people that hang out with enough black people, somebody should say it. If Roy did some real stupid shit, I would say something. Because I love him. I don't love Jules enough to say something, so I had to ignore all the texts that she sent me. I had to. My girl has drawn a line in the sand.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Honestly. So is this sin or your blackness? No, I get it. Wait, what? Yeah, no, I get it. That's a real thing. Yeah. And she's right.
Starting point is 00:19:38 She's absolutely right. Y'all know it's in my nature to want to help, to want to help people, to want to give some information. Fam, you make it real hard. What do you want me to do? Did y'all believe her apology on Snapchat? Fuck no. Yeah, I don't know how you cried.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I don't know, I ain't leave that. I never met Jules, so I don't know what's real and what's not. I've met Jules. I'm speculating, of course. But to me, it just didn't look like it. The Jules that I know or don't know, because I don't know her. Let me be very clear. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:08 You meet people. Today you meet people and people just, they're besties forever and you just know. I don't know Jules. I've met her. She's done the podcast. She's a friend of the show. Yeah. Or used to be, anyway.
Starting point is 00:20:19 She's not. Not anymore. Hell no. No, no, no, no, no. I can't support it. I can't comfortably support knowing that. No, no. I don't even know how to word it because it's touchy, but no.
Starting point is 00:20:36 I can't support that. How? Tell me how I can feel comfortable supporting it. I'll ask from the outside looking in, obviously. How do you feel about the black people that are still supporting her after this? Because there were a lot. It's not my place to judge what anyone else does and what opinions anyone else forms. I'm concerned about me and mine.
Starting point is 00:20:59 We not rolling. That, no. I will say this i don't think jules is like i said i've never met her but i don't think she's racist at all i don't i don't get that from her i think that she's just not you know conscious of things that she does where it could be taken and she's kind of a target i think people be waiting for her to make little slip ups here of course they could just go in on her you know i mean so that's like a slippery slope too. But.
Starting point is 00:21:26 It ain't slippery when you post this shirt. You take all the slip off the slope. Yeah, I get that. I get that. But like I said, I don't. But she is a target. Yeah, she's definitely a target. 100%.
Starting point is 00:21:36 100%. Yeah, but I think it wasn't people going, she's a full blown racist. It's that you're so egotistical that you think you can say these things in a culture and it's okay part of yeah like you're above this now you have gone into you're so accepted by everyone that you can say these things which is i think would really upset people because no i don't think jules is going to clan meetings me i just think she's just has a really big ego now right if there were vibes at the Klan meeting, I would... She might be under one of them hoods.
Starting point is 00:22:08 She's not under any of the hoods, Paul. She's not fucking Clayton Bigsby underneath the fucking hood. And then there's always a target where white girls would ask. Yeah. I don't care how you got your ass. Yeah. Because that's not natural ass. Well, we don't need to go into that.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Yeah, it's not, but I wasn't... It's not important. Yeah. I we don't need to go into that. Yeah, it's not, but I wasn't. It's not important. Yeah. I mean, it adds nothing to the story. I'm just saying,
Starting point is 00:22:31 when you have ass, no matter how you got it, you're a target. That's all. Yeah. Well, was she saying she wasn't white? Because I mean,
Starting point is 00:22:37 when she went on that black girl rant, she hashtagged it white thoughts. So I always thought she identified as white. And then when she said this, all of a sudden, she's now Puerto Rican. I don't like that either. So I thought that was a bit odd. I don't like that either. So I thought that was a bit odd. I don't like that either.
Starting point is 00:22:48 I don't like Logic being black and white. Oh, yeah. What was your whole, I was listening to it at work, so I wasn't, like, fully focused. What is your issue with Logic? Oh, my bad. The song. The one with J. Cole on it?
Starting point is 00:23:01 The last record? No. No. Most definitely. Okay, I'll have to re-listen to it. But what is the gist of the song? I'm black and I'm white. And I struggle with being black and white.
Starting point is 00:23:17 Except me. I have a cousin named Keisha. I like chitlins. Like, that is what that song was. All right, what's wrong with that? You white, nothing. I'm not in a tabloid conversation. What do you mean what's wrong with that?
Starting point is 00:23:31 If that's what his life, I mean, you said I'm Joe Budden, I'm depressed, accept me. No, I didn't. Is that what I said? Well. Show me where I said accept me. Show me where I said to anybody, accept me in my music. Accept me? I said, fuck all you niggas.
Starting point is 00:23:44 This is me. I'm talking to God. All my songs are I said, fuck all you niggas. This is me. I'm talking to God. All my songs are talking to God. I hate niggas. I'll reword it. I accept myself. So that's what I think he's saying. Rory, that's great.
Starting point is 00:23:54 That's fine that you accept yourself. At a time, and I think you're just doing this for podcast. I'm not. I really want to know. I don't see what's wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with it. I think Cole and Drake have both rapped about those two things, and it's been fine. What's wrong with Logic?
Starting point is 00:24:13 Logic has an entire album about it. Okay. That's number one. Don't listen to it. He's had a few albums about it. That's number two. Number three, it's done on this particular song. I'm not talking about the album.
Starting point is 00:24:26 The album's great. This particular song, it's done very cookie cutter and cheesy with a lot of pro black people references from a gentleman that looks as white as my walls in my house. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. He's half black, half white. All of that's great. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. He's half black, half white. All of that's great.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But you're asking a black man in today's world to empathize with your struggle from being biracial. Sorry. And he's directly asking for empathy in that. Well, all right. I'm sorry. Again, I haven't listened to the record. I'm just going to go off what I think he may be saying. I do not empathize with that struggle. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:05 I'm sure there is one. I don't think he was saying, hey, I have as much struggle as someone that's very dark-skinned in America. But, hey, this is what I've been going through my whole life with not knowing which side I've been a part of because I look white, but my whole family is black. So I identify with that side of my family, yet I'm this fair-skinned. That's an interesting way to live, I think. Why don't you empathize with that side of my family, yet I'm this fair skinned. That's an interesting way to live, I think. Why don't you empathize with that, though? It's got to be a little odd if you identify more with your black side of your family, but you look white.
Starting point is 00:25:34 That's when I put my all black matters, I mean my black lives matter hat on. I'm just insensitive. I'm just insensitive. I don't know it. It's ignorance. I don't know what, and I said that on my show, I don't know what goes on when you're biracial. I know what goes on when you're black. And I would like to think what happens when you're biracial can't stand in the same room to what happens when you're black.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Oh, I'm not. I don't think either of us are. I have an issue. Sorry. I have an issue with people that can play both sides of the fence when it's convenient for them. I'm not saying that Logic does that because I don't know him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:07 But from listening to the music, hold up, hold up. I mean, this is most definitely off Logic's album, Everybody. Logic has great beats on his album, by the way. Is this your sleeper pic? No. Let me just get to the end where he's talking this stupid shit.
Starting point is 00:26:41 I believe that everybody feel Everybody feel, listen up Everybody over here I promise to God on everything It ain't nothing to fear Anybody that can hear Just fight, fight for the right Black people Oh, here we go
Starting point is 00:26:50 Believe it's right Fight for the right Fight for your life Fight for what you believe is right Everybody fight Everybody fight Matter of fact Everybody beautiful
Starting point is 00:27:00 But right now what I need Black people To just fight Fight for your right Fight for your life Black people Just fight Fight for the right Fight for your life Speed is bricks. Bam. Black people One thing that I can be sure Black people are beautiful Amazing, incredible Black people are beautiful I know
Starting point is 00:27:29 I know I know what y'all thinking I'm gonna let it play There's a black people chant In this bitch Say something, mall. I'm listening. You're defending.
Starting point is 00:27:46 No, I'm just listening. I've never. Listen then. They're still chanting. Mall. Rory. Okay. I'll agree with you with the cookie cutter cheesy way.
Starting point is 00:28:03 That I will agree with. That was cheesy. It was very cheesy. And I like Logic a lot. I do too. And I think he can rap with the cookie cutter cheesy way. That I will agree with. It was very cheesy. And I like Logic a lot. I do too, and I think he can rap really, really, really well. And I think he makes good music. But it was a little cheesy. But if he grew up, I don't know too much about him,
Starting point is 00:28:14 but if his whole family is dark and he grew up around that, maybe he will love black people in that way. I didn't even play the worst part where he started talking about his cousin Keisha and all this other shit. What if he has a cousin? I'm sure he has a cousin named Keisha cousin Keisha and all this other shit. What if he has a cousin? I'm sure he has a cousin named Keisha. Keisha's a very common name.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Well, no, I mean, outside of it being cheesy because that could be subjective. Wait, wait, let's hear more because more wants to tell. No, I'm laughing at you.
Starting point is 00:28:35 I know you are. You're like, Keisha's a very common name? That was a good impression. Keisha's a very common name. Maul thinks I'm the funniest guy in the world. You are, man. I have no idea. You are, man. I thinks I'm the funniest guy in the world. You are, man.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I have no idea. You are, man. I have no idea why. Yeah, you just are. Jesus, though. But if he likes black people and thinks they're beautiful, let him say it. Oh, my God. This is terrible.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Can somebody please? Wait, did he lie? Find y'all a rule. Get a hold of this motherfucker so I can make sense of all this. Yeah, that was, yeah. Where is Ja? Logic album in stores right now, everybody. All right, what else we had?
Starting point is 00:29:09 Sorry. Thanks. I was texting. Wonderful. Oh, this is Yes Jewel's friend, I think. Travis Scott getting sued by Lior. I don't know if that's old news, but I wrote it down early in the week.
Starting point is 00:29:20 That's old news. I want to hear from Lior. I think, didn't we touch on, pause, didn't we touch on? No, it's at the top of my list. It must have happened right after we finished last week. Lior going to get that. Yeah. That's happening.
Starting point is 00:29:32 That's happening. That is 100% happening. So Travis was suggesting that they didn't do anything so they are not entitled to any money, right? I don't know what he was suggesting. He's going to lose. I mean, if there's a contract, of course he is. Travis Scott is losing this one.
Starting point is 00:29:47 I know I'm a little Lior Cohen biased, and I love him on the podcast along with L.A. Reid. I'm going to say that every week. Speaking into existence. I hear you. Listen, can we get to the fun story that I can't talk about? Oh, boy. Come on. One day I would love to have co-hosts that are not.
Starting point is 00:30:06 No, let's talk about it. Let's talk about it. I can't talk about anything. So, Rory, would you. So, what do you want us to talk about with that subject? The fact did progress. Right. Especially with Yandy and Erica.
Starting point is 00:30:18 I want y'all to report the story. Who really had the DC's heart? How did Yandy and Erica end up with sons only 10 months apart? It was only 10 months apart. How tangled did the web get? Yeah, it was pretty tangled. So obviously we read the news. Tahiri was arrested for a fight.
Starting point is 00:30:36 She had a fight with her roommate, what the reports are saying. Yes, according to TMZ.com, 11 hip-hop New York star arrested on her 38th birthday for a beatdown in her apartment. Now, I have a few questions before you continue. Let me jump in real quick. How long do you get to use, how long do they use Love & Hip Hop star after you're off Love & Hip Hop? Well, Love & Hip Hop is kind of like a, you know, once you're on your family forever, you're part of it forever. I hated seeing that shit on my name. Yeah, but it's, you know.
Starting point is 00:31:08 All right, so anyway, go ahead, Rory. It's who you are. No, it's not who I am. It's who you are. The incident, I'm the loving hip-hop star. Yes. The incident went down on Cinco de Mayo, Tahiri's 38th birthday, after she had just gotten into a physical altercation with a woman who was staying in her New Jersey home.
Starting point is 00:31:23 According to the arrest doc, Tahiri punched and scratched the woman in her face and yanked her hair, leaving reddish bruises on the right side of her face. Tahiri tells TMZ she, in fact, was the victim in merely defending herself. She claims she got home and the woman, whom recently been allowed to stay with her, jumped her and started making her things. The period was booked for the assault and released the next day. Okay, so Cinco de Mayo. Mayo.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Mayo, Mayo, whatever. Sounds like alcohol was involved. Mayo, Mayo. Well, her birthday. Yeah, her birthday, Cinco de Mayo. Alcohol was probably involved. There was mayonnaise and alcohol involved. Alcohol was involved, and it sounds like somebody said something that somebody else didn't like,
Starting point is 00:32:10 and, you know, somebody got punched in the face, fucked up. The only part of this that's just a wild headline, when you see birthday and jail and spend the night and fight at home. Yeah, because you always think that in your home nothing's going to happen, that you can't control. jail and spend the night and fight at home. Yeah. Because you always think that in your home, nothing's going to happen, that you can't control. So I'm pretty sure, you know. No, in my home, nothing is going to happen that I cannot control. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:35 That fuck up what you think. That's usually how it goes. I'm going to plug in and smash in every phone before someone calls the police on me in my own house. Yeah, well, I mean, neighbors hear things, they start calling police. You know how that shit is. I would love to make up details for this story because it's really funny in my head, but I can't.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I can't and I won't. I'm in love and I don't have exes. And I want to be sensitive, too. Not even to, well, I didn't even actually leave the, TMZ says Tahiri, who dates Joe Budden, not former, who dates Joe Budden— And I want that to stop. —says the attack was so bad she can't work, but it's unclear what work—wait, hold on. But it's unclear what work she lost. No, it doesn't say that.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Yo, I swear on everything I look— It doesn't say that. Come on. I wouldn't—I don't know Tahiri. TMZ is not— Why would I make this up? Tahiri, who dates—I'm reading this word for word. Tahiri, who dates Joe Budden... Who does not date Joe Budden.
Starting point is 00:33:26 ...says the attack was so bad she can't work, but it's unclear what work she lost. It seems she's talking about doing club appearances because she continues to be on the show. This is old. Wait, is that... When was this fight? Yeah, because you know there was another fight that she had. No, this is a new fight. No, this is a new one.
Starting point is 00:33:49 This was a new bout. Love Hip Hop New York star busted on her own B-day. Oh, yeah. 5-9-2017. Yeah, because this is her new bout. But how do you get, if I have a fight in my house, how do I get arrested? A person can press charges. Not in my house?
Starting point is 00:34:03 Yeah, they can say you attacked him. That's tricky because they always put in the woman. All right. So now let me know. In New Jersey law. It's whoever gets to the phone first. If the cop does not see the fight or the assault, you can't arrest one person. There's details missing here.
Starting point is 00:34:20 You can't arrest one person. It's their word against theirs. Yeah, but if the woman Is bruised That's what I'm saying If her face is fucked up And you're fine Then no you still need a witness
Starting point is 00:34:29 That is one of the charges In New Jersey So is there a snitch In this case I don't know We're gonna have to Wait is this a case We're gonna have to wait and see
Starting point is 00:34:37 This sounds like a case This might go down In the Love and Hip Hop History book Why wasn't Love and Hip Hop There for that This is what it came Cause Gunplay This is a story That will go down In the love and hip-hop history books gunplay i don't know anything
Starting point is 00:34:49 about this so tell me about well i stopped watching love and hip-hop atlanta me too that shit is super trash and then i saw my timeline at around like 7 30 everyone's talking about gunplay i'm like what did gunplay do and then i see that he's on love and hip-hop so i immediately turn it on there and he's up there pretending to be best friends with stevie j scrappy and the whole crew like they've been friends forever all right i'm off that i'm off that don't care but he's on Love & Hip Hop so I immediately turned it on there and he's up there pretending to be best friends with Stevie J, Scrappy and the whole crew like they've been friends forever alright I'm off that
Starting point is 00:35:07 I'm off that don't care but he's on there with a girl I guess they're moving back to Miami from Atlanta I still don't care
Starting point is 00:35:13 Scrappy's gonna go with them and be their roommate Love & Hip Hop I don't care it's over it's over is it?
Starting point is 00:35:21 yeah it's over I don't know I've been saying that for like three years now yeah me too no no no I've been saying Love & Hip Hop is over for three years well you can't really, it's over. I don't know. I've been saying that for like three years now. Yeah, me too. No, no, no, no, no, no. I can't love a hip hop is over for three years. This is the last season for sure.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Well, you can't really say it's over because they definitely are expanding. That's what I'm saying. It's not going to be over, but what I'm saying is when you expand, normally your content becomes diluted in some type of way. So they are expanding, and I think that we are seeing the fucking effects because the product is trash. This Atlanta show is 100% trash All of it Most of the new people The storylines
Starting point is 00:35:50 They're doing a lot With a little Old boy got a girl pregnant on the show And we're not even interested Kirk with his wife And the other chick Once that was over with Oh, I'm sorry
Starting point is 00:36:02 Oh, I don't know I stopped watching the show But I mean, once that that was the only part that i was like really intrigued that was kirk kirk frost and the fake pregnant i don't know what's going on last name kirk frost i don't know wild i don't know i'm judging me if i know kirk's last name but but yeah i'm off of that the new the new york show i don't know what's going on but there was a whole bunch of new people on his last one. I don't know what they're doing. If they get Tahiri and her roommate, it might be all right. That's a joke that I can't participate in.
Starting point is 00:36:30 What else is happening in the world? You know what I want to talk about? You know what we did not talk about last week? What's that? The 700 people that got laid off from ESPN. That was a very big deal. And as soon as I got in the car, I said, holy shit. Now, couple that with they hired Woj from Yahoo.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Big deal. See, that's a big deal to me. He kills the draft every year. Apparently, they hired him for the draft. He got the bag. They let my guy, Jay Crawford, go, man. That one kind of bothered me. Jay Crawford was my guy.
Starting point is 00:37:06 I kind of seen that one coming. Did you? Because what prevalent role did he have now? That sports center that he was on, who was watching it? Who was checking for it? Yeah, I guess so. But that was still my guy.
Starting point is 00:37:18 That's my guy too. I love him. He was cool as shit. He was cool as shit. Biggest Jeezy fan ever. We fuck with him. Yeah. Shout out to him.
Starting point is 00:37:25 But all those people, they're probably going to land at Fox or one of these. He's going to land somewhere. No, they're going to land other places for sure. Yeah, that was a big deal. I don't know what's going on up there,
Starting point is 00:37:35 but it's interesting to watch, especially if you're me and you're into all of that type of shit. What were you saying, Rory? Speaking of altercations, the Chris Brown-Karuchi thing. Karuchi said she's now going to testify. We weren't even speaking on altercations.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Tahiri beat the shit out of her roommate. Yeah, but that was 10 minutes ago. You got to change your segue. No, that was the segue. You were talking about ESPN. Yeah, we were talking about ESPN. They were speaking of altercations. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:37:57 I'm just talking shit. Come on. But you asked, and we was talking. It's okay, Rory. It's all right. We're just joking. What happened now? Karuchi says she's going to go to the court and testify and shit.
Starting point is 00:38:08 And say that he was very physical with her. Yo, listen, man. I just pray for Chris Brown, man. It just seems like he's always into something. Always. And I know you guys are Chris Brown stans. I'm not. So I have to ask, is he the common denominator in all of these?
Starting point is 00:38:30 Wait, who the fuck is a Chris Brown stan? Both of you. I'm not a Chris Brown stan. Yes, you are. But this is one of the greatest songs ever made. I thought this was the remix. Yeah, you are a stan If you don't have the remix I have the remix
Starting point is 00:38:46 This is a hard beat No no no The original was the one When Tyga bodied that shit Y'all are the niggas Who got Tyga out of here Tyga bodied that I will give him that
Starting point is 00:38:55 Tyga But he said Valentine's Day That irks my soul When people call it Valentine's Day That irks my soul Man
Starting point is 00:39:02 Y'all let Kanye Put a whole different actor in a metaphor. No, I thought it, but people didn't care. Y'all let Kanye do a lot of shit, man. We let Jay say
Starting point is 00:39:12 the sun revolves around the earth. We've let some things go. We let Foxy's whole affirmative action verse go. Let's talk about what we allowing it. In Too Deep, like, Makai Fife was crazy, though.
Starting point is 00:39:24 That was wild. He's got another one. He's got more of we allow in too deep like Makai Fife was crazy though. That was wild. He's got another one. He's got more of those. No. Not like that. Not that drastic. Okay. But Kanye ain't change a word. Yeah he will. Yeah I'm impressed by he does that quite a bit. In too deep like Makai Fife is crazy though. How do you change
Starting point is 00:39:40 the entire actor? How does Omar Epps feel about that? I would love for somebody to ask Omar Epps that question. Nobody in the studio and even even no one, maybe like your mans when you played it for them, no one was like, dog, that's not in that movie. Well, first and foremost, Kanye probably didn't have nobody in the studio with him when he was recording that. I totally disagree. No, first of all, somebody was in the studio, and somebody did. The engineer, he probably didn't even know what movie he was talking about.
Starting point is 00:40:02 I think multiple people were in there. I think they did try to say something to Kanye. And I think Kanye said, no. It's doper that way. It's Makai Fife now. And I think they just shut up. Yeah, that sounds like what Kanye was saying. But Kanye was over there.
Starting point is 00:40:16 No. Right. It's what I said it was. Or pulled up on his phone like, no. He's not in that movie. 100%. I see something going on about a Friday remake. Is that true?
Starting point is 00:40:25 They've been doing that Are they doing another Friday movie? They've been doing that Anytime someone from Friday Is on TMZ Or just on the internet They're like Oh yeah nah
Starting point is 00:40:32 Cube's writing it right now They've been doing that The Friday remake Been coming out Since I was 13 They've made movies Covers and shit They've done everything
Starting point is 00:40:39 But actually Nah you know a movie The Hood was saying Was gonna come out And I'm still waiting for it The second minister society I'm still waiting for it? The second minister society. I'm still waiting for that. I mean, what is it going to be?
Starting point is 00:40:48 Why? Just the old dog in prison? No, what they were saying was that, you know, the son, he grew up. No, Papoose did that. So we didn't need to see it. I want to see that movie. Papoose wrote the song. I want to see that movie.
Starting point is 00:41:01 That would be a dope movie to watch. No, it would not. Why not? Because we're in different times now. It'd be interesting to see it in this time. Man, they would laugh, old dog right off the fucking screen. When is the last time we got a movie like that, though?
Starting point is 00:41:11 Do you know when we saw those movies, Boys in the Hood and- Paid in Full, I think. Paid in Full was the last one, I think. This is a classic, like a hood classic. When's the last time we got a hood classic? Paid in Full, I think. Paid in Full, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I mean, Kill a Season, if you, real If you Real I don't know If that's a hood classic Baby Boy is a hood classic Yeah They played enough Baby Boy is a hood classic You know the last Baby Boy came after
Starting point is 00:41:33 Payton Full They're around the same time Probably around the same time You know what movie And I'm not I'm off of hood classics I'm not naming a hood classic But you know what movie
Starting point is 00:41:42 I enjoyed Like some of those movies that I just didn't get that feeling in a while? The Town. The Town was a very underrated. Very, very underrated. The Town gave me some set it off. Great movie.
Starting point is 00:41:53 It gave me some of that old. That was hard. Yeah. Yeah, the movie was very dope. You know what I'm watching? And it's Irish people, so it's even iller. I'm watching American Greed. Ever heard of it?
Starting point is 00:42:04 No. It's when niggas just do stupid shit for money That sounds like something I would watch It's a series of movies I've heard of it It's a series Series Really good Really good
Starting point is 00:42:14 You watching it on TV or on Netflix or some shit? I bought the season on the iTunes app shit I buy shows I'm the only idiot buying shows and music Nobody's buying shows and music No Sorry bro I read an article in Forbes Though show I'm the only idiot buying shows and music nobody's buying shows and music no yes sorry bro I read an article in Forbes though that echoed everything that I have been saying
Starting point is 00:42:33 about music and the industry's basically swallowing itself what the article was basically saying was and I could find it in my phone but fuck fuck that. I'm freestyling. The article is basically saying that because the industry, because there's not going to be enough money for some of the sub-tier artists to compensate for what they do, eventually they will drown themselves out and find other fucking career paths. And I just started laughing. Why is that funny? Artist Joe Budden.
Starting point is 00:43:03 It's funny, number one, because they're absolutely right. True. They are absolutely correct, and it don't seem like enough people care. That's kind of interesting because I think— I'm going to go. Let me find it. I'm going to find it. No, I disagree with Forbes, and I think I'm much more intelligent than anyone that works at Forbes, of course. Talk your shit, Rory. Intelligent than anyone that works at Forbes, of course.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Talk your shit, Rory. I think that, no, with the internet now, you can go straight to your consumers. So it's easier, I think, to make money than it was before. You don't need a huge outlet to actually give people your music and then buy it. There's regular artists on Apple Music, Spotify, all that shit. Yeah. So I think it's possible. I just think maybe the streaming, the way they get paid is tougher because you have to listen to a song a million times for them to make a dollar.
Starting point is 00:43:48 So I could see in that aspect, but there's ways to give music to your fans without Apple Music and Spotify. I think the internet direct to consumer makes it easier for indie artists to have a career. And they can just go on little show runs and make their money. So I found it.
Starting point is 00:44:04 I found this article. I'm going to try to give you the Cliff Note version of it because it's very long, but it's on Forbes' Twitter page if you want to research yourself. Let's see. There was once a time when mid-level bands with a modest following could make a pretty decent living playing music. Oh, let me burp real quick. They'd put out a record, sell a couple hundred thousand copies, and then go on tour to promote it, which would drive additional sales, even as the tour itself was lucky to break even.
Starting point is 00:44:30 For the largest acts, the formula was a bona fide money-making bonanza lining up pockets of all involved, including the musicians, managers, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right? Right. They go on to say, times, however, have changed. They go on to say times, however, have changed. Besides a handful of superstars, it is impossible for bands and musicians to generate significant revenue taking this approach. And the reason is simple. Consumers won't pay much for music, period. I mean, we've been saying that forever. Oh, yeah. in the past 10 years, they haven't. Now, that's why, that's one of the reasons that I am still one of the lone dinosaurs that purchases music and purchases TV shows and just purchases shit. This goes on to talk about Napster jumpstarting the trend back in the 90s, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The likes of Pandora and Spotify don't steal content, but they still offer it for free with the support of ads.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Others, such as Apple Music and Amazon Music, obviously aren't stealing either and do charge users, but it's a nominal fee. Both models result in most artists getting the shaft, receiving, in most instances, less than a penny per stream. This is ridiculous. That's crazy yeah I know that it's information that we already know
Starting point is 00:45:47 right so when people ask me why I'm screaming and why I'm yelling and why I'm passionate I'm only always on the side
Starting point is 00:45:55 of the artist I'm always on the side of music let me close this because in closing it says this is long
Starting point is 00:46:04 let's see goes to the end bruce springs thing uh the reason yeah yeah we don't care about that uh here we go here we go uh some probably question why anyone should care about all of this after all the consumer is winning since the principal fallout has been that accessing music content is cheaper than ever before. Further, large industries have always gone through difficult transformations. What makes the music industry struggles any more noteworthy? They close with the reason is that without meaningful changes to the way musicians get compensated, creativity will suffer immeasurably, and with it, the entire music industry. Consider that the revenue streams created by record sales
Starting point is 00:46:51 and concerts once formed an informal infrastructure that continually bred new artists. Without such revenue streams in place or something similar to replace them, the time will come when musicians will have no practical way to stay afloat, forcing them to give up and many would-be ones never try at all. It's a great fucking article. It's a great article. That's interesting. It's true.
Starting point is 00:47:22 So now back to- I don't know if that's direct streaming though. It's true. Yes, it's streaming.'s direct streaming, though. It's true. Yes, it's streaming. Streaming is the industry's new way to bootleg things. We've been talking about this since the inception of this podcast, so I'm not going to beat the listeners down with it anymore. I think it's a great way to get away from illegally downloading.
Starting point is 00:47:36 The streamers and the industry executive label people are in cahoots. Let me break this down for the people, again, who have no idea what any of this means. If Drake can say, here's the kicker in a verse, I can say cahoots. I don't care if you're mad about it, Mo. I don't care. Whatever, bro. Listen.
Starting point is 00:48:00 If we're all streaming the music and all the labels have deals With the streaming services And artists are contractually Obligated to the labels And the dollar or the Penny changes Fluctuates monthly with streaming
Starting point is 00:48:17 And how we get paid from it Why the fuck would I be in a rush To put another album out? Why? Somebody tell me. To that point, someone from Atlantic, I won't say their name, was on Twitter talking about streaming. And he had suggested that first week numbers don't matter anymore. Because streaming is such a slow build for numbers and for income that we're not having the 50% drop off on second week numbers.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Now you're having more of an equal first week and second week with these numbers because it takes so fucking long. You have to listen to the song 10 times for it to count. Listen to this. Kaiser called me today, and me and Kaiser have been speaking recently. Kaiser is an executive at Atlantic along with Julie. I know them both because they both were executives at Def Jam. And when the industry played musical chairs, that's where they landed over at Atlantic.
Starting point is 00:49:12 So Kaiser and I are pretty cool. He's known me since I was 20 years old. And I'm on the phone saying to him, nigga, y'all at Atlantic, what the fuck are y'all doing? What's happening over there? Y'all dropped the ball a lot over there. Kaiser says, like who? I said, well, I don't need to get into all the people I said. But I then said, y'all better not fuck Uzi up. And know what he said?
Starting point is 00:49:35 How could we fuck Uzi up? I said, where's an album? He said, he's doing 50 million streams a week. Why do I need to put an album out? And then I was quiet. He's got album out? And then I was quiet. He's got a point. And then I was quiet. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:49:50 You also would need that, because that single is still growing. It's huge now, but it's still, still growing the way, you know, how bad. I like Uzi. I like Uzi a lot. Yeah. No, it's a phenomenal album. I like him a lot. I do.
Starting point is 00:50:02 But I wouldn't put the album out yet. Is the album, all right, so here's the question. Is the album dead? No, it's dead. Is the album dying? No. I think for certain artists like Uzi, and this isn't a discredit to his artistry, but I think artists like that don't need it because they're so single-focused
Starting point is 00:50:22 and they make such great hit records. But if you look at who's leading the whole charge, you have your Kendricks, your Coles, and your Drakes who live and die by the album. Well, maybe not Drake so much because he has so many hit singles, but the people that are still leading rap still rely on making that album. Cole and Kendrick are not surviving off hits, and they're still leading rap music. So, no, I won't say that. That second tier of the younger kids that are making hits,
Starting point is 00:50:45 of course, they don't need an album. I don't need a Yachty album. Because he makes such great hit singles and can live off the streams and perform off those hit records. That's the big thing. They're doing a lot of shows off of these big records. They're doing every show. And where festivals have now taken over tours. Forbes talked about that too. At a festival, you don't need a whole set. You're up there for 20 to 30 minutes. You could just rock through a few singles through there. You don't need a whole show. The Forbes article.
Starting point is 00:51:13 And you're making just as much money. If not more. Yeah. The Forbes article, when it spoke about cheapening music, spoke to the festivals and how popular they are. Not because of the music necessarily, but because of the experience. Yeah. It's all about the experience. Like Coachella, like I was saying,
Starting point is 00:51:29 people just go there just, they don't know what the fuck is going on. They just want to have dirty feet and eat pizza. Yo, Maul hates Coachella so much. I do. I'm with him. I hate it. Not that I hate Coachella.
Starting point is 00:51:39 I hate all them niggas, dirty feet niggas, sitting on the grass. Yeah, like this fake new hippie era is corny. I hate it too. But I hate everything. niggas Dirty feet niggas Sitting on the grass Yeah Like this fake new hippie era Is corny I hate it too But I hate everything Yeah you do I do
Starting point is 00:51:50 That's a fact I hate it But like For example I went to Broccoli City This past weekend And it was great Because I like
Starting point is 00:51:56 21 Savage I'd like to see him perform But I'm not going to A 21 Savage show But Solange is also On that bill I would love to go see A Solange show Yeah festivals is more of a mix. I would love to go see a Solange show.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Yeah, festivals is more of a mix. Now I can go see both. You're getting straight to your hit records. I don't need to sit for the B-sides. It's perfect for artists that you're not particularly invested in. Like Ray Shremid, I don't need to go to a full Ray Shremid show to hear the B-sides. I want to hear your five amazing hit records, which I hear at festivals.
Starting point is 00:52:21 Right. So streaming and festivals kind of going hand in hand in that aspect i would like i'm not angry at that at all because i'm angry about everything i would like the flip side of that festival i want to put a festival together i told you and it's i gotta fire you and i want to i want to i want to put together a festival of all the duo people i want to do prime we We talked about this. Oh, yeah. Run the Jewels, Rage in the Machine. There's some more.
Starting point is 00:52:49 There's more that I'm missing. Well, first of all, Run the Jewels is, like, headlining mad festivals this year. I was shocked. I was happy, but I was shocked. They headlined last year.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Well, shit, they're, like, high up in Made in America. There was another festival I saw. Oh, was it Governor's Ball or some shit? Whatever. They are made for festivals the same way that Prime They're like high up in Made in America. There was another festival I saw. Oh, was it Governor's Ball or some shit? Whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:11 They are made for festivals the same way that Prime is made for certain festivals. The same way A-Rab and myself, if A-Rab was not a complete fucking moron, would be made for festivals. A-Rab is great live. But no, Run the Jewels is where Prime wouldn't be. A-Rab steps in his own fucking way. I can't say that because I step in my own way. Speaking of firing Ian.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Is that what we're speaking of? I love Ian. Oh, we got bad segues from Royal. Joe and I were talking on Saturday, whatever, some shit. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:40 We were talking about Fetty Wap and 300. Fetty Wap, who announced his album, is being released. Dope. Everything is. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:53:50 Thank you, Maul, for your expert analysis. I like Fetty. You like everybody. I like Fetty. You protect all your fucking relationships. I don't have a relationship with Fetty. You maybe would like one. No, I like his music.
Starting point is 00:54:00 You definitely had a 1730. You do not like the last seven Fetty Wap songs. No, you don't. No, you don't. No, you don't. Maybe not all seven. That's my point. That doesn't mean I don't like him. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:54:09 You like six Fetty records. No, more than that. In 2013. Nah. Nah, there's more records than that. I don't think you can name more than six Fetty records. You know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:54:23 I was telling somebody the other day, I'm bad with naming records. Me too. Well, that's why I said that. It's a trick question. I can't think you can name more than six Fetty records. You know what's funny? I was telling somebody the other day, I'm bad with naming records. Me too. But that's why I said that. It's a trick question. I can't name any records. That was a loaded question. Yeah, I'm terrible with naming records.
Starting point is 00:54:32 Terrible. If I were Fetty Wap, I would be causing a fucking tantrum at that label. I'd be calling my lawyer immediately trying to get out of that shit. Well, we were saying that 300 kind of works more as a management company than it does a label. And at what point does a manager leave his artist? That was our question. Because usually an artist is doing well, but their manager may be fucking up or not giving them what they need. At what point do you as a manager, with a bunch of more successful acts, then leave someone that you—
Starting point is 00:55:00 A bunch more, man. A bunch of more. All right. Okay. The grammar police is in the building. Word. Of all fucking people. Roy just turned 27.
Starting point is 00:55:08 He got to have some koof. That's having koof? Yeah, a bunch of more. Koof? Look at the words we're getting hit with. How do you spell that? C-O-F? Let's just say conversate.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Let's do that. I love conversate. I judge everybody that says conversate, even though they recently made it a word. Sometimes you have to conversate. Webster made that a word because so many idiots were in the world that they had recently made it a word. Sometimes you have to conversate. Webster made that a word because so many idiots were in the world that they had to make it a word. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:28 But it feels like it should be a word, though. It always should have been a word, but it was alarming that people didn't know it was not a word. It's converse is the word. Well, thank you, Joe.
Starting point is 00:55:39 That's the word. But converse kind of got outshined by converse to sneak yourself. That's very true. It was kind of like, yeah. No, it didn't. It did. It's like you have a bunch of pairs yeah like if you write that in the text look at all my converses yeah they'd be like why is he why does he want to have a converse with me i don't even wear converse if you were to write that in the text yeah like look at the gauge
Starting point is 00:55:58 like why does he want to have a conference all of this makes perfect sense to mall that's why this is funny it does does. It does. I'm on board, Maul. Well, yeah. At what point as a manager when you have more acts that are better? No, you're adding all this extra context to it. At what point is it all right for a manager to leave the artist? That is our question for the day.
Starting point is 00:56:21 Oh, please. What manager is leaving an artist when he feels like the artist is not performing to his capability? Nobody, nigga. Nobody. It happens, though. When? A lot of, like, manager agents is kind of the same thing as managers. Roc Nation will leave a nigga.
Starting point is 00:56:35 That's a big company. Yeah, agents leave athletes all the time. Like, leave the athlete, not the whole round. But agents don't. Typically, your manager may have came up with you, started before you got your deal. Like, there's a relationship there. Not all the time, but a lot of the time. In this new era, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:49 So at what point are you looking at someone that you built up and put you on to? Because he's kind of the reason for a lot of your success now. At what point do you stomach that and be like, nah, I'm successful without you now. I got to let you go because you're not doing nothing. Yeah, answer it, Maul. At the to let you go because you're not doing nothing. Yeah, answer it, Maul. At the point where you feel like you're
Starting point is 00:57:08 successful now, you can't, yeah. You can't have a Converse sneaker with him no more. Period. I want to know what Maul's passionate
Starting point is 00:57:15 about, I swear to God. What? You want to know what I'm what? Passionate about? I want to know some of the things you're passionate about.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Passionate about a lot of things, man. Liking Instagram pictures Maul is definitely The nigga that Is in the comments Saying yo your man is lucky Get the fuck
Starting point is 00:57:32 See now No hold up Hold up See now You're not gonna Disrespect me like that You're not gonna You're not gonna
Starting point is 00:57:38 Turn me into that guy Don't do that You know me better than that Wait niggas Her man ain't lucky You know me better than that I'm asking you if a man is lucky Man get the fuck out of here
Starting point is 00:57:47 So a man is not lucky Never in my life will I ever say No corny shit like that You lie No you lie If you think that's me You lie You fucking lie
Starting point is 00:57:56 Fuck out of here YouTube viewership Fuck out of here Alright I understand Your position But It's a man not lucky Get the Why are you asking me I'm asking a valid question I don't even know What you talking about I understand your position, but it's a man not lucky.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Get the, why are you asking me that? I'm asking a valid question. I don't even know what you're talking about. Maybe he goes the hater route and say your man don't know what you got. I want to. What? Y'all got more fucked up. I definitely told him, Chick. What?
Starting point is 00:58:18 Your man don't know what he got. That's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy that you try to turn me into one of those guys. That's cool, though. That's cool. It's mad of those guys out there. I'm not one of them.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Let's be clear. How do we know? You've never seen, because you see every picture I like, because you text me about it like, bro, you got to relax. As soon as I press like, here comes the text. Bro, you got to relax. Or I got like push notifications for you on this one. You got to relax.
Starting point is 00:58:44 But I'm not. So you would see comments. You're waiting for a comment. I know that's what you're waiting relax But I'm not So you would see comments You're waiting for a comment I know that's what you're waiting on I'm not in the comments though No but you'll see if I comment On somebody's picture You're waiting for it
Starting point is 00:58:52 So you can be like Maul Maul You gotta relax If you ever say Your man don't know what he got Get the fuck out of here I don't know what she got
Starting point is 00:59:00 What the fuck you talking about I don't know this chick I don't know these girls What the fuck you talking about That's when you say it though Nah fuck out of here I can't know what she got. What the fuck you talking about? I don't know this chick. I don't know these girls. What the fuck you talking about? That's when you say it, though. Nah, fuck out of here. I can't play that game. Well, let's see here.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Uber Freight. Shut up, Uber. Uber always doing some damn shit. Let's see here. What we got? No, Jews, no. Trump wilding again. Firing the head of the FBI.
Starting point is 00:59:21 Getting niggas out of here. They're going gonna impeach him And then have to figure out How to impeach The next ten of them Exactly Exactly That's what's gonna happen
Starting point is 00:59:31 Up there I know other countries Other countries look back Look at us and just Fucking laugh man I'm not talking about This Miley Cyrus shit I'm not doing that
Starting point is 00:59:38 But Division put a new song out Yeah Yeah he did The first When I first heard it I didn't really like it I listened to it a few more times I warmed up to a little bit but it's not what I needed from someone that I think is that great and they just came off of I just
Starting point is 00:59:52 want to tell the podcast listeners Rory is the king of warming up to a song yeah cuz you hate that terminology why you I don't yeah you say but you contradict yourself all the time I can't listen to it when everyone's hype around it. And then it's like, oh, I can't let it build. Rory, my favorite thing to do is to contradict myself. I don't understand why people are so confused by me. I don't either. Nobody should even take me serious.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Yes. I've been saying that for years, too. I've been saying that, too. Bye! Y'all niggas worship him that's what i'll be trying to tell joe's fans that's what i was telling that's what I was telling your fans about the whole Drake shit. No fucking lie. Nobody wants to tell the truth. I didn't even tell the truth yet. That's the crazy shit.
Starting point is 01:00:56 All right. I feel like some important shit happened before I get to sports. Flex and Tupac. No, it's not important. Is Flex and Tupac not important? We have discussed Flex and Tupac. No, it's not important. Is Flex and Tupac not important? We have discussed Flex and Tupac since 97.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Well, Pac is still out here lying. I just don't get it, man. I just don't get it. I don't know. Well, T.I. T.I. had words. Tretch had words.
Starting point is 01:01:21 People had words for Flex. I'm sure Flex knew that words were coming. I get it. I'm sure Flex knew That words were coming I get it I understand what Flex is I get it But I think there's a
Starting point is 01:01:30 Time and a place And the internet is not That time and place Past No not only that Even if he still feels Some type of way today Come on
Starting point is 01:01:39 You on live That's just not That's not it For me Like Flex is from Another You know he's from Yeah I'm So it's like You're not supposed to be doing this He's so digital that's just not, that's not it for me. Like Flex is from another, you know, he's from,
Starting point is 01:01:46 so it's like, you're not supposed to be doing this. He's so digital. You have to remember he's the digital god. I understand. I get what Flex is saying, but it's just the way he's doing it. It's just coming across a little like,
Starting point is 01:01:57 all right, Flex, like, you know what I mean? Well, Flex is always great at getting attention. I think the first time he did it, he got so much attention that he just was like,
Starting point is 01:02:04 fuck it. I got to continue to do this. Cause that's what Flex has been doing forever. Do you think this is happening think the first time he did it, he got so much attention that he just was like, fuck it, I gotta continue to do this. Because that's what Flex has been doing forever. Do you think this is happening because the Tupac movie is coming around? Like this is,
Starting point is 01:02:11 you know what I mean? Nah, it was interesting. There was some guy on Twitter with like a white avi. Oh yeah. Who was doing all this great,
Starting point is 01:02:20 amazing New York history. Pac included in it because Pac has so much New York history. And I feel like I can't prove it, but I think that sparked Flex because I was all over Twitter then all of a sudden Flex
Starting point is 01:02:30 was talking about the exact same shit. Yeah, I think it did too. So that's where I think, I don't think it came from the movie, though the trailers on that movie look phenomenal. Yeah. That movie looks like it's going to be really, really, really good.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Yeah. It does. And I'm done with the biopics, but... Biopic. Every time I think I learn how to say that word... No, I the biopics, but... Biopic. Every time I think I learn how to say that word... No, I don't know. I call it biopic. People say I'm wrong. But then I've said... Let's have a converse about it.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Your mall's so mad the Wizards is going home. Your mall is so tight about that. No, for real. Why am I tight about that? I don't know. I watch your InstaLive games just to see the... so tight about that. There you go. No, for real. Why am I tight about that? I don't know. You didn't use me. I watch your Insta Live games just to see the, I mean,
Starting point is 01:03:08 your Insta Live just to see the game. Well, you Insta Live the game? No. Yes, he's that guy. Joe is full of shit. You know, I can't do nothing.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Listen, I figured Joe out. I can't do nothing on social media without Joe finding a way to make a joke out of it. I can take a picture of us right now.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Because why are you taking a picture of us, my nigga? See, there we go. See, there we go. No, for real. There we go. Why is Maul taking a picture
Starting point is 01:03:29 of the hot dog and the referee? Don't be Peck, my nigga. Come on, here we go. He had his Jordans on the hardwood? No.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Yeah. Tell him I'm close enough to ref the game. Whatever he said. Yo, this nigga, yo, yo, listen, don't be trying to make me sound like the corniest nigga on the planet. Why are you, Whatever he said Yo this nigga Yo Yo listen Don't be trying to make me sound

Starting point is 01:03:53 Okay go ahead And that is the mission Okay Two reasons Okay go ahead One You're too cool for school Okay
Starting point is 01:03:58 You're too cool for school Like that era's over my nigga This cool bullshit Okay what's number two Number Number two Number two is number one No no Okay, what's number two? Number two. Number two is number one? No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:04:07 It isn't number two. One is you're too cool. Oh, and two is you have too many funny Joe stories. Oh, so you trying to- It's spite. It's spite. Okay. I need-
Starting point is 01:04:16 Okay. Got you. Shit, if he had all those funny stories, I would stay at bay. Yo, can we have like a bonfire night at your crib and just fight like a bunch, like maybe like 20 people and just sit around and just tell stories all night? Oh, that was going to happen at the pool party, I thought. Yeah, but the pool party, it might be too much going on for that. Well, no, that would be the after hours to kick everyone else out.
Starting point is 01:04:40 I got some fancy shit happening. Like I got some fancy shit I think I spoke to the chef about for after hours. That's kind of hard. I'm bodying this shit on low. Niggas don't want to keep my props. I'm kind of moving out here. I'm bodying this shit. As the chief.
Starting point is 01:04:55 As the chief. As the chief. If I see this motherfucker walking around in some Kansas City shit, I'm going to lose my mind. Yo, I've been a hater for a long time. A long time this guy's been a fucking hater. I did everything he said on the podcast. You're the hater now. I've hated on you?
Starting point is 01:05:10 Yes. Okay. Fuck. This shit is full of shit. All right, let me let him have that. Show me mad easy to hate on. Is there anything I am mad easy to hate on? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Oh, yeah. Did you guys see Charles Barkley saving race relations in the world now? On A&E or some shit? I didn't see all of it. I saw a clip. Charles Barkley, I never want to hear him talk about anything race. I don't know if I want to hear him talk. He's done.
Starting point is 01:05:34 No, I want to hear him talk because I love honest people. I love people that don't shy away from their opinion. Even if I disagree, I want to hear those people speak. Charles Barkley has shown his ass too many times when it comes to race related issues he is he is he said some wild things he's let all of us know that he's not really he don't really fuck with us yeah he's not in tune with with our you know what what we feel and and why we feel it he's charles jules he's what charles jules? Come on, man.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Come on, bro. Don't do that. I'm sorry. Don't do that. Pardon me. Don't do that. Jules, call me. We can talk about this.
Starting point is 01:06:13 We can market the vibes. Just look at your likes. You'll find more. Who gives a fuck what John Rue thinks at a time like this? This is ridiculous. Jules. I don't want to dance. I'm scared to death.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Did you just say? Listen, Jules. Let's just have a conversation. I'm scared to death. Did you just say... Listen, Jules, let's just have a conversation. Sometimes Rory is funny. Maul, stop liking pictures. How you like audio likes. Jules, hit me. Charles Jules.
Starting point is 01:06:40 Come on, man. Come on. Stop. Stop, guys. I got to stop because Sim went to fade With Jules for real And I'm on Sin City I'm always on Sin City And Sim want to fight
Starting point is 01:06:50 Me and Jules You and Jules That's my baby Wildin Charles Jules is funny Alright I don't want to hear About race relationship From Charles Brockley I'm sorry
Starting point is 01:07:01 I want to hear about Cleveland I want to hear about Defend the land Defend the land More Defend the Land. More mad the land is getting defended, but whatever. All right. I was going somewhere.
Starting point is 01:07:11 I was going somewhere. I don't remember where I was going. Y'all listen to Meek's new record? I didn't hear it yet. It's really, really, really good. That nigga going. Yeah? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:19 No, it's really good. You know Meek a rap. I don't care about that. But this feel like the old. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm excited. Honestly, not just people saying that. Can I ask a question?
Starting point is 01:07:30 I'm not trying to be funny. Did he mention a Rolex? I didn't hear it. Watches, but not specifically a Rolex. I didn't hear it. But he will. No, it's not like a I'm the boss record. It's like a heartfelt record.
Starting point is 01:07:43 He's going. I like me. He is going. That breakup is the greatest thing that ever happened to him. This shit is called what? Leaving Hollywood or some shit?
Starting point is 01:07:50 Left Hollywood. It seems like his space is like I'm done with that shit that I just fucked my life up. And that video that he's teasing that they put out
Starting point is 01:07:58 that looked like it could be a series about that scammer shit. Yeah. That's great. Oh, the Lydia again video? again video lydia yeah it was a good video that's hard they should have continued that we need meek i keep saying it yeah he's we need him he's important to this he's very important especially not only to the culture but especially
Starting point is 01:08:18 to east coast culture yeah yes while all the east coast niggas are sounding like yeah out of town is one of the east coast niggas that sound like an East Coast nigga. That the kids still fuck with and will accept that sound from. He's the lone person keeping a certain sound alive. Yeah, I agree. And he's like Beans in the sense that he's not rappity, rappity, rappity, rap Philly. Like he could do both sides and still sound like he from Philly, but not in like a freeway sense. No, I love free, but that's the essence of Philly rap.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Yeah. Meek is, can play both sides, which is why he's been so successful. Shout out to Meek, man. I gotta listen to the record. It's hard.
Starting point is 01:08:54 I listen to it when I leave. It is. It is hard. Uh, what else? Fuck if I know. How's, uh,
Starting point is 01:09:00 how's post Wale, uh, everyday struggle life been? Uh, I wish I would've conducted that interview. Honestly. Oh, How's post-Wale everyday struggle life been? I wish I would have conducted that interview, honestly. Oh, you was getting interrupted. It was great to see you just shut the fuck up for a second. I mean, I went up there with the plan to shut the fuck up,
Starting point is 01:09:17 but Ack is long-winded and talks in circles. He does. If you don't put a leash on it, he's just going to say the same thing a million different ways, and Wale already had Ae to grind with him. It's interesting to see people, not even just with Wale and Axe, just to see people watch the same thing and perceive things so much different. Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Like, I understood what Wale was saying, and I was reading other people that were, like, got the complete opposite of what he was trying to say. Well, people always do that. But this was, like, weird. I don't know. Maybe just because when I saw Wale, of course, Wale was being Wale, so it's hard to sometimes grasp what he's trying to say. That's kind of been his Achilles heel in his entire career.
Starting point is 01:09:59 But I think he was just saying, not in particular, but who he represents and those type of people, you don't have a leg to stand on to call me corny. Call me what you want to call me. Corny is the last thing you can call me because I lived a life that you watch on a screen. And I think that's what was upsetting to him. Like of all people, you could say my music sucks. You could say anything you want about me. But the last thing you of all people and everyone that's in your little comments can call me is corny.
Starting point is 01:10:26 I don't understand how people feel like Wale is corny. I don't get it. I don't get it. I really don't understand how people think Wale is corny. They think that because he has reacted too much. Is that what makes you corny? No. You can have corny reactions, but I don't think his reactions have been corny per se.
Starting point is 01:10:45 I think they've been misguided. Anytime your reactions are perceived to be emotion-based, i.e. Meek when he was wildin' and niggas was clowning him, not because he was wrong in his sentiment, but because it seemed emotion-based, Wale has replied to a lot especially during that we don't fuck with you musically period he replied emotionally to a lot of things much like myself i didn't reply so emotionally so much but it comes off that way and once it comes off that's that way that's all that matters now your music and you you're all perceived a certain way yeah but but corny i don't understand how that could be taken that's that's what i think
Starting point is 01:11:25 the whole argument was about everyone was like why is wale upset about like nah you can't come at me with a fucking egg avi from your mom's basement and call me corny but that but yes you can that's hip-hop today yeah you can but it's like you know he's correct if we're old and and we're playing by a different code of ethics no of course you can do it that's why I love Meek
Starting point is 01:11:49 because the internet has given these people a voice that's why I think Meek is so necessary because Meek is one of the only new niggas that I feel is still
Starting point is 01:11:55 playing by old codes and it comes off that way we need that we need somebody playing by old rules and old codes I just don't get how. I'm sitting here trying to think of something corny I've seen while they do.
Starting point is 01:12:11 I'm really trying to think about it. Yeah, but, Mo, you grew up outside around a certain type of crowd. You didn't grow up in your mom's basement hooked up to the Internet. So what you perceive is right and wrong, they don't. Yeah, the things that you perceive to be corny, you're going to be the coolest thing in the room in any room you walk in. The things that you think are corny and the things that corny people think are corny.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Like academics said himself, hey, I'm corny. I'm corny. But a lot of us are saying you're corny too. I understand Wale when he says, and I understand people when academics, this is a lot of people's first time seeing him. So when you see someone who has such a strong command on the youth and how to sway their opinion, and this is the person, you feel the way.
Starting point is 01:12:57 I totally understood Wale. I get why he felt, why Wale felt some way. I'm just still trying to find out why people feel like. I think it's just the coolest thing to say Wale is corny. I think that people just made it cool to say Wale felt something. I'm just still trying to find out why people feel like, I think it's just the coolest thing to say Wale is corny. I think that people just made it cool to say Wale
Starting point is 01:13:09 is corny. It was cool to say that at a certain point. Let me put it like this. If you don't know any better, and you compare Wale and Meek,
Starting point is 01:13:17 if you value the things that Meek exhibits, wouldn't you think Wale is corny? No. No? If you didn't know any better, yes you would. Oh, if you didn't know any Meek exhibits Wouldn't you think Wale is corny? No No If you didn't know any better Yes you would
Starting point is 01:13:29 Oh if you didn't know any better I started with If you don't know any better Yeah If you're not from the streets If you never left the creek You lived your mind I'm just saying
Starting point is 01:13:36 Your perception of things Is coming from YouTube or the internet And I'm not saying that About academics I'm just saying period Yeah Then
Starting point is 01:13:44 When you see Meek He looks really cool The motorbikes look cool. The jewelry looks cool. He's always with people that look cool. He had the girl. It looked cool. He beefed with Drake, the biggest rapper. He lost, but it looked cool. Wale doesn't have that same luxury. He doesn't get that aesthetic that the rest of MMG is afforded. The rest of MMG, they talk that fly shit. It looks like that fly shit. They rap that fly shit. Wale, not so much. And I feel like when the radio single kind of died,
Starting point is 01:14:14 Wale died with it. Wale thrived when radio was prevalent and when radio dictated hits and all of that shit. Since then, when the internet and streaming and all that shit has been dominant, now you have to deal with the effects that you have made over here, and it's been
Starting point is 01:14:30 quite a bit. It's a lot to deal with. I mean, Wally had Seinfeld on his album. Yeah, that's nuts. No, no, no, no, that's put in perspective. That's amazing. And Seinfeld's amazing, and you can't beat that. However, perspective when it's done in damage control.
Starting point is 01:14:46 Because that's what happened. He had a big blow up. He cursed out a big publication. You heard me on All Love Lost saying you need pitchfork, you need complex, you need noisy, you need these people. If you don't have these people in pocket, like I said that. He pissed them off. Now you need to do something. Now you need to do,
Starting point is 01:15:07 you need to come back with a bang because you left a lasting effect on your last mistake. But I'll say even with the second tier of the Drake vs. Meek thing
Starting point is 01:15:17 and why the internet killed Meek because I think the internet looks at Drake as more relatable to them and what living in their house and not really going outside much. Drake Drake As more relatable to them And what Living in their house
Starting point is 01:15:25 And not really going outside much Drake is Much more relatable In what he raps about And what he looks like So it was easy To kill the street dude Because they didn't understand him
Starting point is 01:15:35 Are we gonna talk about Rosie at all? Who? Who's Rosie? Oh French French Rosie Yeah
Starting point is 01:15:41 Allegedly Pregnant with Drake's Kid Yeah Oh Listen man This is like the third time I think Drake is being accused French Rosie? Yeah. Allegedly pregnant with Drake's kid? Yeah. Oh, the chin. This is like the third time I think Drake is being accused of having somebody pregnant. Eh, a little different now. Is it?
Starting point is 01:15:53 Why is it different? The framing is different. This is the first time that we have heard OVO respond this way. We've never heard the other bitches, the other women. Sorry, baby. The other women, sorry baby, the other women, we could just assume they were lying.
Starting point is 01:16:09 We've never heard OVO say we don't believe this is his child. If it is his child, we have every intention on doing the right thing by the child.
Starting point is 01:16:19 We've never heard that. The framing tells me that there's concern. They might be taking it serious. There's concern. me that there's concern they might be taking it serious that there's concern is it at least there is concern now this is where it gets a little tricky for me i think drake is bulletproof i do i don't really think anything can hurt him i was gonna say i don't want this chick to be pregnant because i don't mind this drake has beat everything i kind
Starting point is 01:16:43 of want him to keep going I don't want to see him Lose at this point A Drake baby mama album My nigga might be The best album in the world If he has baby mama drama Are you kidding me I'm buying that album
Starting point is 01:16:55 Yeah but More life than I wanted I want that album Here's the thing though Like the way Hov Is like perfect To the world now Y'all just rushed over
Starting point is 01:17:04 My great joke More life than I wanted Yeah it now. Y'all just rushed over my great joke. More life than I wanted. Yeah, it was good. Y'all hate it. Look at Moe want to snuff me out. You'll get a laugh. Moe and Pardee texting each other. All right, I'm off, Moe.
Starting point is 01:17:13 I'm just trying not to laugh at this corny nigga. That was corny? Lyin' say that was corny. More life than I wanted. More life than I wanted. But anyway, go ahead. That was funny. No, the way Hov is perceived as perfect in the world now, I'd like for hip
Starting point is 01:17:29 hop for Drake to eventually get that and get the amazing wife and family. I'd like hip hop to have more of that. So I don't want him to have a crazy IG baby mother. Drake won't be having a wife in this woman. No, I know. I'm saying. He's not going to do the right thing. No, he'll have a baby,
Starting point is 01:17:46 an IG baby mother. I don't want Drake to have that for the sake of hip hop and how it's perceived. So we're not going to see a red carpet in Calabasas? I don't think so. I hope not, man.
Starting point is 01:17:55 I pray. I just pray for Drake right now. I hope that's true. Well, we got to pray. We got to pray for Drake. He looks dressed in that fucking picture
Starting point is 01:18:01 that surfaced with them. With them too. But we don't care about that. Wait, there was a picture of the two of them? Yeah. That surfaced right after Lil J Lo break up, but we don't care about any of that. What I will say is that the allegations of the text, have you read the text
Starting point is 01:18:14 that, and Drake's, LVO is saying we can't confirm the authenticity of these texts. See, we never heard that framing. Well, who from LVO said that? Whoever said it. You think they're gonna confirm that the fucking Drake is texting his chick, Rosie? Right. It's just hard.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Rosie got ass, too. You know he beat. Rosie got ass. I just, man. I mean. He was looking at her in the face. That's why he get props. My thing is, when you're Drake, it's like.
Starting point is 01:18:47 I wasn't going to say anything, but. He was looking at Rosie in the face. You know Rosie face strong. Rosie Leno. And that's, come on, it's Rosie, but Rosie face strong. Yeah, Rose, damn, Rosie. We took all of the Rosie pictures at the pool party when she was laying on her stomach. Damn, Rosie.
Starting point is 01:19:04 I'm telling you what we did. I just pray for Drake, man. I hope he makes it out of this one. But the bad part about this, and I'm going to get off the Drake shit because I love Drake and I don't want people to think that I hate Drake. I love Drake. I think they think that already. I don't give a fuck what they think.
Starting point is 01:19:18 I just said it. I know. I love Drake. I drink myself. But the text part, like if she text him with some sentimental shit, and then it was like, Ma, you got to kill that. Come on, man. Ma, you got to kill that?
Starting point is 01:19:33 Well, of course not in those words. Right. But, you know, wait. This nigga. What did you say? So is she on this now? Get off my phone. Stop texting me.
Starting point is 01:19:45 But if it's his, that's my point. If it's his, that text is going to look crazy. No, but you got to get on the phone. Like, if you had that stature, you can't have any screenshots. I would only see Drake entertaining this conversation with her. Oh, she could record the call, too. I mean, obviously, you know, he knows her. I'm willing to bet that they had sexual intercourse.
Starting point is 01:20:06 So he has to naturally. Allegedly. Well, allegedly. So in that case, he would have to entertain her. Take her to the house. Yeah, he would have to entertain it, man. But it's just like, shit. You got to talk to.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Listen, if you come inside people, you have to talk to them. Now you got to talk to them. What if he didn't? That's debatable. Oh, Jesus Christ Have some koof What is the word koof? Clearly no koof
Starting point is 01:20:31 What is the word? Have a coop No Have a koofy Have a koof You guys are real mature Oh okay You guys are great
Starting point is 01:20:39 Let's pray for Joe More life than I wanted It was a great joke Y'all slept on it It was Joe gonna throw that one at the wall four more times
Starting point is 01:20:47 yeah he gonna go home and tell it to Sin cause she didn't heard it yet he gonna text the group chat more life than I wanted that's not funny no I can't talk to Sin
Starting point is 01:20:54 about Drake anymore cause anytime I say Drake on the podcast every day he's like baby you guys you gotta stop she's like my
Starting point is 01:21:03 fucking police officer we can't talk about Drake why not we talked about Drake? Why not? We talked about Drake a lot on this podcast. We have. It's Drake. He's the biggest artist in the world. Yeah, you got to talk about Drake.
Starting point is 01:21:11 How you not talk about Drake? Well, that's what I say when everyone says Drake. That's why I think Drake is crazy for fucking coming at me for talking about Drake. See, I got you. I got you. You are a rapper. I got you, Maul. I got you. I got you.
Starting point is 01:21:21 You don't got me. You don't got me. First and foremost, you don't got me. I got you. No, you don't. I didn't get him? No. I told you. You don't got me. You don't got me. First and foremost, you don't got me. I got you. No, you don't. I didn't get him? No. I told you what it was.
Starting point is 01:21:28 It was, no, the chief doesn't got me. The chief. I told you what it was. It's the way you said it. You were yelling. You had a tank top on. I always yell, man. Yeah, but it's just, you know, that's how it comes across.
Starting point is 01:21:39 It comes across like you're angry because you're sweating and your tank top looks like two pit bulls Was hanging from the collar I'd never buy new tank tops Never Never ever You have the worst tank top game In the world 100%
Starting point is 01:21:52 That's crazy You know what this show Doing an everyday Drugger show has taught me What I don't have any clothes Yeah well you gotta get Fresh every day
Starting point is 01:22:00 Damn yo dog The funny shit is When watching that shit And say alright How's Joe gonna put himself Together today Yo that's why That's why when we Talked about it We commended Fab Like dog this nigga Yo, dawg. The funny shit is when watching that shit and say, all right, how's Joe going to put himself together today? Yo, that's why when we talked about it, we commended Fab.
Starting point is 01:22:11 Like, dawg, this nigga be fresh all the time. Hey, but let me, hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Because even Fab, for the first time, wait a minute. This is a story that will go down in the love and hip hop history. I'm telling you. What is the name? Food Town? No, but what I'm saying is I told y'all,
Starting point is 01:22:26 Fab may have done one or two tours in his career, but he ain't never been the tour nigga. It's very hard to stay fresh on tour. Some of them last Fab pictures is a merch shirt, some sweats, and some kicks. On stage? Yeah, baby. That's even harder.
Starting point is 01:22:43 Yes. Without the internet, you could wear the same shit on tour for the whole tour. On stage. Yeah, baby. Now it's even harder. Yes. Without the internet, you could wear the same shit on tour for the whole tour and no one would know. On stage. Now it's Fab. So Fab's merch shirt is beautiful.
Starting point is 01:22:50 I'm sure it is. The sweats are beautiful and the sneakers are beautiful. Oh, he's just trying to sell some shit. bumming it for Fab looks better than
Starting point is 01:22:57 some niggas get it right. But I looked at it and I said, yeah, I wish I could've hit a Don DeMarco when I seen that Instagram fucking picture and Fab was dressed in sweats.
Starting point is 01:23:06 Well, I commend you because, like, we're first taking shit, they can wear suits. And wearing different combinations of suits is, I think, easier than trying to put together a different outfit. 100%. I don't have any clothes. I don't have any clothes. Y'all know I ain't the nigga that wanted to be seen somewhere every day. I done ran out. Listen, when I get the bag, I'm going to start wearing some crazy shit.
Starting point is 01:23:24 Yo, where's the bag at? Some off-white shit? No, not off-white. We didn't get any bags. Yeah, we're bagless. We are bagless. We ain't seen a bag. Yeah, we're trying to grocery shop in California.
Starting point is 01:23:34 But that's exactly why we're going to get the bag. The bag is coming. They're going to know when the bag is coming. For the listeners, we've passed on some bags. It's not like we don't have offers. Listeners, this is strategic bag passing. But I want to sell when the value is high. I don't want to miss any opportunities.
Starting point is 01:23:54 I don't want this podcast to fizzle out in a year. No bag goes unturned. The bag is gone. The bag ain't going nowhere. Believe that. We're going to go get that motherfucker. Oh, man. All right, great. Anything we're going to go get that motherfucker. Oh, man. All right, great.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Anything we're missing? I don't know. Pat, where we at? No, it's some more shit that happened. I don't want to ask Pat. Pat, don't tell me shit. Every time we ask you, you say we've been rocking for 40 minutes, and then I feel like we ain't accomplished nothing.
Starting point is 01:24:17 Fuck out of here. What else did I talk about? Did y'all see the Spirit Airline fight in Fort Lauderdale? I'm so sick of them. Yeah, I did. You're sick of Spirit? I'm sick of all the fucking airlines. If I was flying Spirit, I'd have my guard up too.
Starting point is 01:24:31 I want to build a plane. I don't feel like God has allotted me enough time to do everything that my brain wants to do. Where is building a plane on your list? You want to build a plane. Where does that fall? Of course I don't wanna build a plane I can't build shit But I know I said that
Starting point is 01:24:48 Shut up What is that noise I hear shit too Yeah Is that dog barking Like other voices Yeah Yo do y'all have to
Starting point is 01:24:55 Fucking talk back on Nah It's not on It's just louder now I don't know Was that recording All through our shit Nah nah nah Alright Leave that Whatever Continue It's just louder now. I don't know. Was that recording all through our shit?
Starting point is 01:25:05 No, no, no, no. All right. Leave that. Whatever. Continue. Yeah, fuck it. It's on the fly. Everything goes.
Starting point is 01:25:12 Everything goes, man. The real raw podcast. There was some awards. There was some awards happening. The MTV something happened that nobody cared about. Nobody talked about it. The MTV Movie Awards. Nobody cared.
Starting point is 01:25:23 Was it even televised? Did anyone perform? I don't know. I don't even watch TV. Where's Claudette Ortiz? She's still bad. Where is she? In Jersey. Still getting trained by them fucking two nigga shoes. Yo. There goes the bag. Yo, more likes
Starting point is 01:25:39 all of the celebrities that look similar. Claudette Ortiz. She is beautiful and still beautiful. Cassie. Do they look alike? They're in the same family. No, they're not.
Starting point is 01:25:52 They're not in the same family. They're both bad. That's the same family. Bad as a family, yeah. That's a family. Who else like records? You know what I mean? Who y'all trying to sign?
Starting point is 01:26:04 Who's on the like records roster? Who y'all trying to sign is funny. Who y I like trying to sign trying to sign is funny trying to sign we know we want to highlight Kerry Hilton people's carry O's is fine oh my god carry O's and still fine Jesus I just want Claude it's want to take Claudette out for some French toast or something. Starting point is 01:26:53 So you can't pause me Oh, no, I'm a believer I'm a believer Some of you niggas Hey, wait, I'm in love Come on, man Jesus Christ I'm in love

Starting point is 01:27:14 And you And you feel the same way No I do There's a lot of dudes Rory's in a committed relationship We gonna talk about him Yeah Once I find out
Starting point is 01:27:22 Women slept with certain guys Yeah that's like And there's a difference there Between caring about her past In a weird way You gonna fuck Brian Reilly Yeah. Once I find out women slept with certain guys, yeah, that's like a... And there's a difference there between caring about her past in a weird way. You gonna fuck Brian Reilly? No. Of course not. Of course not.
Starting point is 01:27:32 Of course not. Of course not. Of course not. I can name a million niggas that niggas would not fuck Brian if we knew. Listeners. Of course, we're men, so we never know. We never know. Because I'm not going to ask.
Starting point is 01:27:42 Yeah, I'm not. But you can find out. Rory might ask. Here we go. We're just. But you can find out. Rory might ask. Here we go. We're just going to put shit on everyone. Rory might ask. Now, how he opens up the ask might be creative. I have never asked a woman about her past.
Starting point is 01:27:54 What? Even once I've been in committed relationships. I mean, like, in that type of relationship. I'm not rolling. No. Like, what's your body count type shit? Oh, no, no, no. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:28:01 Not how many, but you definitely inquired about a guy. Like, yo, you slept with him? I don't think I have I really don't think I have In a tricky kind of way Maybe not blatantly like that Roy definitely has Look at this But you definitely picked up
Starting point is 01:28:16 Your phone in your eyes You're like look at this nigga right here Are you following him? Maybe I found out Okay Maybe I found out I didn't ask I found out though
Starting point is 01:28:23 Alright how did you confirm? Cause that be our beef with women Okay. Maybe I found out. Niggas are funny. I didn't ask. I found out, though. All right. How did you confirm? Because that'd be our beef with women. Women say that they find out. But how do they confirm? They just be guessing shit. So if men are finding out. It's my men intuition.
Starting point is 01:28:35 I know. That's what women say. I know that's what women say. Men have institution? Yes. When we converse about it. And mine works. Yours works.

Starting point is 01:30:14 He's been in One I did I did one time Wait what's wrong with that Every train is a lot No Not every train
Starting point is 01:30:21 I was scared If Maul say niggas Going to the movies By themselves is weird And niggas going to dinner By themselves is weird That's weird Tagging your name On every train That you've scared. If mall state niggas going to the movies by themselves is weird and niggas going to dinner by themselves is weird. That's weird, man. Tagging your name on every train that you've been on is weird.
Starting point is 01:30:28 I'm an only child. I do mad shit. Going to the movies by yourself. Listen, if you sitting there on the movies with your girl- I can't remember the last time I went to the movies with somebody. Why your parents- Okay, so you're the guy. Why your parents didn't want to sleep with each other no more?
Starting point is 01:30:41 When kids are only children, that's what I wonder. He probably was a fucking terror and they was like we're not going through this your mom's wisened up I can just be a dick make him feel bad cause my mother's diabetic
Starting point is 01:30:51 and couldn't have any more kids but Gino oh record stop come on Rory Jesus Christ now you wanna be that guy you could've told us off
Starting point is 01:31:00 and that one nah I wanna make I wanna make me like a dick one here now I wanna adopt a brother for Rory. At 27. Adopt a brother for Rory. Listen, man.
Starting point is 01:31:14 Having a little brother when you're 27 years old is crazy. Having a little brother for the rollout of your album is the craziest shit I have ever heard. But I'm shutting up. I'm not saying a word I'm happy Shit we were all in D.C. But shoot this weekend Maul was there
Starting point is 01:31:32 I was there Sin was there I wasn't coming to D.C. That was too much We had fun Henny Palooza Sin hosting There was too much happening
Starting point is 01:31:41 Sin hosted Henny Palooza? Then I saw The Star Tenders Was at Stadium I was like alright Alright enough is enough Yeah D.C. was Everyone relax There was too much happening Sin hosted Henny Clues? Then I saw this The Star Tenders was at stadium I was like alright Alright enough is enough Yeah DC was Everyone relax
Starting point is 01:31:49 DC was definitely a problem There was a I didn't do shit though IG model Like battling us In the section over But doing What was more than the most
Starting point is 01:31:57 Battling your how? Your how You know what the Fucking IG models do She was twerking? So you know like The little side table that they put hookah on? Yeah. She was standing, all six, five of her, on top of the hookah table,
Starting point is 01:32:13 was waving sparklers like she was bringing a plane in. And we're just looking over there like, I think we should probably go home now. I think we've ran our course at this club. What was her point of doing that, though? Had to battle sin real quick. Oh, okay. First of all, don't make me fuck these bitches up. That's number one.
Starting point is 01:32:31 She might have fucked you up. Rory, speaking of fucking shit up, enough is enough. This is always fun. Enough is enough here. So I'm looking at the group chat, and there's a Henny Fiesta now. Enough is enough. I've addressed this. You did? In the group chat and there's a Henny Fiesta now. Enough is enough. I've addressed this on You did?
Starting point is 01:32:48 In the group chat? No, on the Ball Erler podcast. I addressed all of this. Well, address it here. What the fuck you mean? It's old news. The Henny Fiesta shit
Starting point is 01:32:58 happened a month ago. This party is happening How is it old news? You ain't snuffed Drewski. You ain't snuffed this girl. You didn't snuff this girl. Just some girl in the test. There's a lot of snuffing you got to do.
Starting point is 01:33:08 You got to get to it. You ain't snuffed nobody. A nigga that's running around drinking Hennessy. That's wild. You got to snuff every nigga that's drinking Hennessy. Ack is drinking Henny. Damn. Andrew Schultz.
Starting point is 01:33:18 So I just got to stand outside liquor stores and just sneak people walking out? And Chris Dallas has to mainly rock while you do it. That'd be a dope video. That'd probably go viral. Oh my God, viral. All right, I think we got everything until a new story
Starting point is 01:33:31 breaks tomorrow. Which we know will happen. Something's coming this weekend. You want to give us a sports report, Maul? Are you sad that your reign at Washington games is cut short like leprechauns
Starting point is 01:33:42 because IT ain't playing with y'all niggas? Why do you feel like that, though? Boston's going to win that game. They're going to win. They're serious. They're going to win that series. with y'all niggas. Why do you feel like that, though? Boston's going to win that game. They're going to win. They're serious. They're going to win that series. Boston's going to win that series.
Starting point is 01:33:49 Why do you feel like that? Better bench. Better bench. I like Washington starting five against anybody starting five over a longer series with a better bench and better coaching. I love Brad Stevens. I'm going with Boston. Okay, well, here's my thing. Washington has been up by 20 in every single game.
Starting point is 01:34:04 Means nothing. You're right. The first two, been up by 20 in every single game. Means nothing. You're right. The first two, they went by 20, and they let Boston come back and beat them. In the last two games, Washington has handled Boston decisively. By game six or seven, whatever limit it goes to, John Wall should be gassed. If he's not gassed, Bradley Beal should be gassed. John Wall should be gassed. If he's not gassed, Bradley Beal should be gassed.
Starting point is 01:34:30 If he's not gassed, the twin guy that you said his twin was playing for him, that was a great theory, by the way. I love that. Yeah, Marcus Morris definitely. You got some good theories on the low sometimes. I do. I try. Yeah, I just don't see it. No, I got Washington in six.
Starting point is 01:34:42 Who – oh, Toronto's out here. That's finished. So they get who? Oh, they get the winner of that. Yeah. I don't know what's happening. Oh, give me Houston Spurs. What do you think?
Starting point is 01:34:49 Well, I had the Spurs in six before the series started. I still stand by that. Rory? I'm taking Houston. I had the Spurs in six. I'm going with the Spurs in six as well. I've been counting Pop and the Spurs out for the last six years, and I've been wrong, so.
Starting point is 01:35:00 I'm never counting them out. Yeah. Ever. Well, until next series. I count them out all the time, and they always win. Next series, I'm counting them out. They're not beating Kevin Durant. One time, I'm going counting them out. Yeah. Ever. Well, until next series. I count them out all the time, and they always win. Next series, I'm counting them out. They're not beating Kevin Durant. One time, I'm going to be right.
Starting point is 01:35:08 Yeah, nobody's beating Golden State. I told them all I got LeBron and them beating the Warriors in the finals. I'm a Knicks fan, so I don't think— Not going to happen. I don't have a horse in the race, but— Not going to happen. The land is getting defended. Not going to happen.
Starting point is 01:35:21 And I'm the guy that feels like LeBron was gifted his last ring. So don't think that I'm a LeBron guy even though I am. He was gifted the last ring? I think so. That was a Game 7 series. Like a conspiracy? No, it wasn't. No, it wasn't.
Starting point is 01:35:33 No, it wasn't. Well, just because Steph played like shit. I know what he's alluding to. He's going to say that they were down 3-1 and then all of a sudden shit changed. Steph played like garbage. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Steph has played like garbage before. I don't think it's a coincidence.
Starting point is 01:35:47 And again, I'm a conspiracy theorist guy. But Golden State hadn't lost two games in a row in four years until that series. So you think every single player that didn't graduate is in on this huge conspiracy? No, I think that the style of play that Adam Silver permitted game four and on was different and inconsistent with the style of play that the refs permitted from game one through three. I think there was a reason for that. And I think that's advantaged LeBron. Yeah. Physical game.
Starting point is 01:36:16 Physicality will always. But I think he always gets that. His whole career, I thought that. Well, the hard thing is now I feel like Golden State is prepared for that. The physicality I don't think so Of meeting with Cleveland I don't think so at all
Starting point is 01:36:29 I think they are And then the funny shit About that Is when they get to the finals With them two As great as LeBron is Now it's the Kyrie show Yeah
Starting point is 01:36:40 Well I will I will say this Let's not skip too far I will say that I am interested to see Washington and Cleveland. I think that's going to be a better series than people are giving credit. I'm telling you. More.
Starting point is 01:36:51 I think it will be. Washington and Cleveland. More. I think that's going to be a very interesting series to watch. They don't match up very much. Washington might win a half against Cleveland. Why, though? They don't have a bench.
Starting point is 01:37:04 Yeah, but you're acting like Washington hasn't beat Cleveland this year. They handled them very well in Cleveland last time they played. Playoffs, Mo. You need a bench. I understand that, but what I'm saying is I'm just talking about the game. How old is John Wall? 27, 26. John Wall got a motor on him, but you're going to be timed.
Starting point is 01:37:23 Not him, but your teammates. They need a bench. They need a bench. They need a bench. I'm not rolling until they get a bench. And I like Gortat. I like all them niggas. I don't know how Nene ended up in Houston. That was a fucking coup.
Starting point is 01:37:32 He's out, though. He's hurt. Yeah, God, for the ball, don't lie. Fucking trying to cheat. They put a million niggas over there. That's all I got for sports. What about Porzingis tweeting L.A. Clippers with a smiley face? He was hacked.
Starting point is 01:37:46 He was hacked. Oh, okay. That's what he said. That settles it. Porzingis got to stop saying he was hacked. Everybody has to stop saying they were hacked. Yeah, but Porzingis gets hacked every other week. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:55 Every other week he's hacked. He proved it with the emojis that he used. He didn't even use that emoji. I'm sick of him. And he said, come on, B. So you know he's staying. Wait, so you're over Porzingis? Yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:38:04 Yeah, right. I'm just asking. Don't get crazy. yeah right don't get don't get crazy don't get crazy you know my New York issues they're gonna make the new draft pick play the triangle they're gonna make the coach coach the triangle they're gonna make players that don't want to play the triangle play the triangle and they re-signed Phil Jackson for an extra two years I will not be looking at the Knicks for another two years until Phil Jackson is completely out of town. And I feel the way even talking to you about this because you're a Laker guy. Like, y'all should have kept that nigga. Get him the fuck out of here.
Starting point is 01:38:33 I called you and I called Laker fans and bragged when we got him. I said, boy, y'all should have fucked up now. Look at God. He was like, we got the Zen master. The fucking Zen man. Master D's. You might have took up yoga when he first came to New York. I didn't take up yoga when he first came over here.
Starting point is 01:38:47 I didn't do that. My bad. I've been doing yoga. Johnny does hot yoga. What a dick. Hot yoga's actually dope, though. I wouldn't know. I'm just talking shit.
Starting point is 01:38:57 I wouldn't know. I did hear it's dope. Did you? From who? Girls. Girls. Girls. Johnny said it's dope, too, by the way.
Starting point is 01:39:07 We know why Johnny's doing hot yoga, because there's women in there. Is that why he's doing it? I think he's the guy in there that really likes it. Like shushing people, like, hey, I'm trying to take this serious. Johnny's the guy in there that's battling. Trying to focus on my downward dog, please. He's trying to get his summer body ready. You a fag if you a man trying to get your summer body ready. You're a fag if you're a man trying to get your summer body.
Starting point is 01:39:26 No, I'm a fag. Bitches are going to be in that pool. Pool party invite. Yo, listen, man. Chicks don't care about that. If you got money, I ain't got it. I got a girl. Chicks don't care about nigga body no more, man.
Starting point is 01:39:43 That shit overlooked, man. Anytime a nigga say that, his body is super trash. And Michael Paul going to be running around there with his fucking push-up torso on. He's going to go put on his fucking detractable peck shirt that he got. He's going to have an underarmor dry fit on. Michael Paul is 100% the guy with an underarmor dry fit on. Yeah, absolutely. I think I'm going to buy stilts so I can compete with Michael Paul at the pool party this year.
Starting point is 01:40:08 You should because he's fake tall and he wears these fucking platforms. Michael Paul dressed like Prince at the pool. Y'all killing me, Pete? It's hate, too. I don't care. Oh, it's all pure hate. I don't care. It's all hate.
Starting point is 01:40:22 Fuck Michael Paul. Anyway, the pool party. The pool party. Michael Paul, I told all of my friends to invite women. That's your strategy? I mean, no, but listen. Outside of the women, I'm excited about the things that we have lined up. I'm excited about life-size twinga.
Starting point is 01:40:42 Twister. Life-size twister. Twister. I'm excited about speed dating Twinga. Twister. Life Size Twister. Twister. I'm excited about Speed Dating. Which Maul's hosting. I don't know if we told you that already. I don't know if Maul knew he was hosting. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:53 Oh, yeah. We talked about that already. Maul is hosting Speed Dating. This is going to be great. I want models. Speed Dating with models. It's going to be amazing. This is great.
Starting point is 01:41:01 Oh, and it'll all be videotaped. So the people that won't be there. We're just attractive women, not even models. But yeah, we're videotaping all this. Beer pong. Bo. I text Bo, our comedian friend, friend of the show, to perform. Okay.
Starting point is 01:41:12 I'm hype about that. Maul, you never saw him perform, but he's really, really funny. And in that type of setting with a whole bunch of fuck niggas, yes, he's going to be funny. He's going to be funny. He's going to be good. Rory suggested that we play Manhunt after hours. And that's a rape charge waiting to happen. What type of people are going to be there?
Starting point is 01:41:32 Me. What type of man? I'll be there. I'll be there. If you had trouble figuring out why ads weren't on the podcast. It's time for me to double tap you in real life Right, exactly Like Records will be there
Starting point is 01:41:49 In the building Sponsored by Like Records Like Records might have to sponsor this I might get some Like Records t-shirts If you tired of Six of the way them shits too Yeah If you tired of your dude
Starting point is 01:42:02 Not liking your pictures Right Dancing on his own Instagram That's okay Come fuck with Like Records But, yeah. If you tired of your dude, not liking your pictures. Right. I would have to charge him. Dancing on his own Instagram. That's okay. Come fuck with Like Records. If you plan on selling merch at a pool party, I'm definitely taxing you. That's cool.
Starting point is 01:42:13 No, I'm not. I wouldn't sell it. Just give them away. He's going to sell likes. To whoever I like. Instead of liking the public, I like you. Do y'all want to hit on LeVar Ball and these sneakers? Because I'm going to be wearing the big baller whatever joints at the pool party.
Starting point is 01:42:27 LeVar won't even be wearing those. I got to change my outfit then. Well, they won't be ready until November, so we can't. Well, I got the preorder. I'm not mad at LeVar. Niggas is killing him. I'm not mad at him. Listen, all of this is cool, right?
Starting point is 01:42:39 But. Here comes NBA, man. No, listen. He still has to perform at a high level. That's true. For any of this to work. Now, if he does. Great.
Starting point is 01:42:48 If he doesn't. Then we was done with you anyway. Yeah. If he don't, we was done with you anyway. His job is to perform at a high level. And if he does, all of those people, companies. He's going to have such. He has such a huge target on him, though, man.
Starting point is 01:42:59 Yes. I don't think he's ready for this. I really don't. Shouldn't have pissed off LeBron. Shouldn't have pissed off Steph. Under Armour. Nike. Listen, I'm going to be real. I don't think he's ready for this. I really don't. Shouldn't have pissed off LeBron. Shouldn't have pissed off Steph, Under Armour, Nike. Listen, I'm going to be real. I don't think he's going to be that good.
Starting point is 01:43:10 I'm going to be honest. I agree. He hasn't really impressed me like that. Then you haven't watched UCLA games. I have. I did. No, you have not. He's not a bad player.
Starting point is 01:43:18 If he has not impressed you, you have not seen enough UCLA games. He hasn't impressed me more than Malik Monk from Kentucky. You have not seen enough UCLA games. No, no. He has't impressed me more than Malik Monk from Kentucky. You have not seen enough UCLA games. No, no. He has not impressed me more than Malik Monk. Malik Monk can't shoot nowhere near like Lonzo Ball can. Oh, my God. Malik Monk don't look ready to contribute at the next level like I think Lonzo Ball does.
Starting point is 01:43:40 Malik Monk is more of a project to me, probably with a higher ceiling than Lonzo Ball, if I'm assessing the two of them. But that nigga Lonzo Ball is ready to ball. He's ready to go. He's ready to contribute. Well, he ain't got no choice now. He got to be. He better be ready.
Starting point is 01:43:54 Let me ask you this. Speaking of point guards, his homeboy, Emmanuel Monday, and I only know that name because the Knicks were looking at him for a second. Is that a bus now in Denver? Is he a bus? I don't see enough Denver games, but I don't hear his name. Give him another season. I wouldn't say he's a bust yet.
Starting point is 01:44:10 What were his averages last season? I'm not sure, honestly. Too early to call him a bust, but we're looking at him. Like God is looking at all of you people over 40. Only the people over 40. Really only me. LeVar Ball is funny I think it's great That he's starting
Starting point is 01:44:27 His own company I think that's really dope But the consumer For basketball sneakers Is not the consumer For Louis Vuitton And Gucci That he's comparing
Starting point is 01:44:35 These shoes to They're athletic sneakers So I get what he's saying Like oh y'all paying This much for that That's not the consumer Of a basketball sneaker Listen I'm just
Starting point is 01:44:42 I'm concerned about How well they're produced Because if he tries to go baseline too hard And make some bullshit Let me tell you something That can be bad I'm not mad at the prices Nor am I mad at the low-cut basketball sneakers anymore
Starting point is 01:44:56 James Harden has a new sneaker coming out I saw that, I really like that That was a low-cut sneaker I'm not mad at that anymore The price point is probably at that premium because LeVar Ball went to Fight Club. So the price is in there. Hey, speaking of Fight Club, I still have, yes,
Starting point is 01:45:13 I still have my fucking Eminem Jordans in Fight Club. I totally forgot about that. They're waiting for you in Fight Club? That's what I am. Have you picked them up? The Jordans that the label sent to me, I took them to Fight Club. Oh, you tried to resell them? What am I going to do with some fucking $20,000 Jordans?
Starting point is 01:45:34 I ain't wearing them. Nobody else is wearing them either. They'll be right there. They still sitting right there. And they're going to be sitting there. It ain't 20 grand. I didn't ask for that ticket. But they're sitting there.
Starting point is 01:45:44 If they still there by my birthday, I'm going to go get them. Yeah. And probably pay more than what you sold for them. I'm trying to hold out. I'm trying to hold out until Em put a new album out, which he announced. I love Em. Hold up. My baby called me.
Starting point is 01:45:57 Hey, baby. Bro. Come on. What type of shit is this? We almost done, too. They out of steak? What do they got? Beef?
Starting point is 01:46:04 Oxtails? Beef? We almost done too. They out of steak? What do they got? Beef? Oxtails? Beef? Something? Paws. Any type of... Yeah, oxtails. Meat. Paws.
Starting point is 01:46:23 I'm not really a big rib guy. Pause. Yo, Maul is so dumb. Maul is an idiot. Pat, leave all this. If you can't get nothing, then I'll take the rib tips or steak tips or whatever that is. All right. Pause.
Starting point is 01:46:43 I love you, baby. Pause. Okay, bye. All right, baby. Pause. Okay, bye. All right, we are back. 101.9. No, we didn't go anywhere. We were here all this time. All of us were listening.
Starting point is 01:46:54 I wouldn't know. You said pause. I thought it was pause. Because you was like any type of meat. Oh, you were saying pause. Like me. Yeah. Get the fuck out of here, man.
Starting point is 01:47:02 Okay. That's exactly why I'm full of spite when it comes to you. No, that's why I'm all bad Okay I'll stop And then only more spite Will develop When you don't respect the chief Yo listen
Starting point is 01:47:11 That chief shit gotta go Not till the pool party I'm definitely the chief Of the pool party Sorry That shit gotta go With feathers on his head Call me what you want
Starting point is 01:47:20 I'm the chief First of all If you ever think I'm calling you the chief You got life twisted If you think That I'm not walking. First of all, if you ever think I'm calling you the chief, you got life twisted. If you think that I'm not walking out to Lords of the Underground
Starting point is 01:47:28 Chief Rock, doom, doom, doom, doom. One of the hardest beats I thought as a teenager, by the way.
Starting point is 01:47:37 So we've covered everything. Sleepers. You wanted to talk about your friend Chad Moss. I don't know what you want to talk about, but you made it a point that we needed to talk about Bow Wow. Only because Oh, my God. I don't know what you want to talk about, but you made it a point that we needed to talk about Bow Wow.
Starting point is 01:47:47 Only because they were killing Bow Wow, and anytime Bow Wow is killed, I feel like I'm being killed too. Why? Why? I just like Bow Wow. I like Bow Wow, even though Bow Wow said he— Bow Wow's on that sniper list too, by the way. Oh, 100%.
Starting point is 01:48:02 Yeah, Bow Wow got a lot— That sniper list keeps growing. He got a lot. That's my biggest cute growing. He got a lot of zombies walking around. And he probably had a couple of y'all queens sign NDAs before they left the crib, which is even doper. See, that's when I know I will have graduated to the next level.
Starting point is 01:48:15 I was never man enough to get the chicks to sign an NDA. Or you just didn't have a lawyer. Or that. Hard to have a lawyer when you're fucking not making any money off music as forbes noted in that article but it's a fuck they told me to rush to a slaughterhouse
Starting point is 01:48:34 all right yo joe is a fucking idiot man i'm working on a slaughterhouse biopic slaughterhouse what? Biopic. Biopic? Bionic Man? Whatever the word is, nigga. A movie about y'all. Remember Bionic Six? Y'all too young.
Starting point is 01:48:53 Was that a cartoon? You never saw Bionic Six? Yeah, it was a cartoon. Bionic, Bionic Six. You never saw that? No? Hit that note again. Let's get this people's get this sleeper's dog
Starting point is 01:49:06 No I think that was Your sleeper I think that was Your sleeper's dog Who's gone first With the sleeper's dog Biotic Alright Ma
Starting point is 01:49:10 You tried to go there too Give me the all score Give me the all score Come on play the new Cause you definitely Tried to go there You go there Give us the new belly
Starting point is 01:49:20 Whatever the fuck you playing I ain't got no belly For y'all paws I had to pause that you didn't have to pause that I did have to I didn't have any belly
Starting point is 01:49:31 for y'all what are you pausing belly for that's plausible and Maul has belly I don't have belly I don't have belly alright

Starting point is 01:49:49 Is this a single? This is a new Bryson Tiller. I'm not sure. Is it out? Or is this only in your email? You better check to see if this is out yet. What do you mean I better check to see if it's out? You'll get fired from the Bryson Tiller camp. Okay, hold on.
