Starting point is 00:00:00 I just want to let everybody out there know the whole room seems a little down in the dumps just yeah get my drop off. I just don't have the aux. You have a drop. It's New Rory and Maul drop. Fuck the new Joe Budden drop. If you don't get that shit. Fuck y'all shit.
Starting point is 00:00:35 I just don't have the aux, so I couldn't plug it in. But wait. He needs some more reverb on that. Are you serious? Play this shit. I got to bring it back up. Come on, Audio Mac. No, William.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Sam got a chill. What is Sam doing? Get off Rory's phone for the last time. Anyway, all right. Episode number, who gives a fuck? 139. Who cares? 139.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Does that matter? Too many. We ain't doing seasons. We should be doing seasons. We should be doing seasons. Yes, we can take a break. We are so trash. 139, y'all said?
Starting point is 00:01:10 Yeah. All right, episode number 139 of the Joe Budden Podcast. I'm your host, Joe Budden. To my left is Rory. Savon's here. New Chris Brown is here. Parks is here. And to my right is Maul.
Starting point is 00:01:24 I would ask how everybody's doing. Maul, I see, is learning the broadcasting trick of coming to the mic with his poker face on and then unleashing this fury of thoughts and outlandish opinions. Well, not even outlandish, just Maul opinions.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Maybe kind of legit, though. So, I don't know if y'all want to start with m's track list but i mean at some point we can get was waiting at some point we can start we can get to m's track list his track list was revealed well first of all before we even get it all i hate that word revealed they put it out i hate track list you're revealing they revealed it wait alright no let's get to that
Starting point is 00:02:06 in a second how is everyone how's everyone doing and feeling let's check the temperament in here I'm good I'm cool
Starting point is 00:02:12 I'm cool no longer wonderful new not to be wonderful in this house men of many words in here alright so let's start with
Starting point is 00:02:23 let's start with Rory's weekend because i know you and all your little hipster buddies were really sad uh about you you are my hipster buddy so i'm not are you talking to yourself in the third person i'm not your hipster buddy you're wearing a bathrobe right now i'm your og no you og hipster I'm your OG Hey a nigga telling you He is your OG Is crazy Don't tell me my OG
Starting point is 00:02:50 I gotta tell you If you're my OG I'm your OG No It don't work that way That's the new shit That's like giving yourself A nickname
Starting point is 00:02:58 You tell a nigga Hey Rory How do you think You've been safe all these years Honestly No let's talk about this For a second Do you think you've just Been running around here untouched on the strength of your fucking hands
Starting point is 00:03:08 yeah who you stopped who you stopped on the strength of your hands who you stopped this wasn't even written down come on man i don't care what are we what was we talking about before we started now i'm Now I'm wondering who you kept me safe from. Nah, that's part M&M. That's part M&M. Yeah. Kept M off your ass. We're all going to find. All right, so let's get to the M track list. You're going to find a way to start with the M track list.
Starting point is 00:03:34 So let's start with the M track list. Listen, listen. Before we say anything, I just want to say, Royce the 5'9", I love you. You're a good friend. But I know M is your man. But you're going to hear some things today that might upset you a little bit. Not from me, Royce. Of course, because Joe is, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Pussy. Yeah. I don't care. Royce, I love you. You're my guy. You know that. You've never met Em. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:03:55 So, I mean, you can't expect me to share your fucking, you know what I mean? No, I'm just talking about musically. I'm not talking about personally. I don't think that, you know, I don't have anything to say negative about it. What I will say musically is it didn't dawn on me until Rory reminded me that Recovery, the album, came out in 2009. That, I feel like I'm like stuck in a time capsule. Like that don't feel like that long ago. That's nine years ago. Yeah, it was a while.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Yeah. So now once you start doing shit like that, all right I'm shutting up that's a while ago that's a while ago so I mean I get it I get it uh do we have the track list yes the revealed track list I have first one walk on water feature trash that didn't come with audio oh oh we heard that song. Maybe it's a new version. We heard that song. Maybe they put some drums on it.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Maybe. He performed it with drums. Did he? I hope they put some drums on it. I didn't want to start with this track list. I don't know why Maul let us here. Believe. What do we think, Maul?
Starting point is 00:04:59 Believe? Yeah, what do we think Believe will do? I don't believe. Next. I went to public school. How do you pronounce that word? That one. The third one.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Trash. Chloroceptic? There you go. Chloroceptic. Featuring Fresher. A little random feature. The name of the song is Chloroceptic. Isn't that like cough syrup?
Starting point is 00:05:20 If I have to roll a dice on a song called Chloroceptic, I'm going to say trash. But you don't have to roll the dice on anything. We're rolling theceptic, I'm going to say trash. But you don't have to roll the dice on anything. We're rolling the dice. We didn't see any of these records. That's my point. Untouchable. Y'all are the niggas
Starting point is 00:05:31 that think you can tell how an album's going to sound by reading the fucking track list. I think with the features, we kind of can for this one. All right. Let's just talk about the features. No one gives a fuck
Starting point is 00:05:40 about the name of the song. Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, Fire, Ambassador, Skylar Gray, Fire, Kehlani, Fire, and Pink. no one gives a fuck about the name of the song uh ed sheeran alicia keys fire ambassadors skylar gray fire kaylani fire and pink who's that damn pink's not five she was fired so that's past since fire who's a past inspire past inspire who's ambassador because we don't acknowledge we need to start acknowledging when niggas was fire at some point i mean they were providing
Starting point is 00:06:03 and then they stopped so i mean pink is past in fire was eminem also be in that category who was once providing fire and no longer is no because i thoroughly enjoyed recent m versus me okay i know that's mall saying i'm waving my shady flag man get the fuck out of here joe come on can we have a real conversation one time come on you've been you've been what you said about previous inversions you what you like them recent recent i like that that uh cypher verse that that you seem to hate i didn't hate the i just thought it didn't it wasn't as major as everybody made it i thought it was pretty major okay if y'all don't have something riveting to say about this track. My prediction,
Starting point is 00:06:47 it seems way too pop-ish. It seems a little lazy that he just went out and grabbed the hottest people out and just put them, he's going to do 16 and they're going to sing the hook. It's going to be all on pop radio.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Like, M, the way Hov has aged gracefully and really pushed hip-hop, to me, this feels like this is pushing pop music. I think it's unfair to say that without hearing it. I know.
Starting point is 00:07:06 We're doing predictions. That's what we're doing here. I don't know how it's going to sound, but to me, just grabbing it. When is the album coming out? Are these predictions? It sounds like y'all already got the fork in the nigga. Where is Griselda? Where is Royce?
Starting point is 00:07:20 That's my only question. Where does Royce fit in this feature list? I don't know. There's nothing hip-hop about this feature list. I believe in Royce. Man, Royce can rap on whatever. That is true. But to me, this looks like they just are going to put the Billboard press release with all the major names that are featured on it.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And here you guys go. Let's make this sell a quadrillion albums. Who would have thought that Royce, Eminem, and Bruno Mars would be a record? And it was. Well, because that was Em's formula that Royce is just so
Starting point is 00:07:50 talented that he could fit into easily. Exactly. That was Royce's record. Right. Oh, was it?
Starting point is 00:07:55 I didn't know. Yeah. That was a Royce record. Listen, man. Go ahead. No, that's what I have to say about
Starting point is 00:08:04 that. Listen, y'all are drying me up here. I'm not starting my podcast with this dry shit that, frankly, none of y'all really care about. This is our podcast, nigga. First of all, we want to talk about Eminem. We're going to talk about Eminem. Well, nigga, I want you to say something. That track list does not make me want to go buy that album.
Starting point is 00:08:17 I don't care about hearing Eminem and Ed Sheeran. I don't care about hearing Eminem and Beyonce. I don't care about hearing Eminem and Pink. I don't care. I don't want to hear that shit. Where's the hip hop at? Why Conway ain't on there? Why West Side Gun ain't on there?
Starting point is 00:08:31 Let me ask you this, Joe. Do you think Eminem is in a position of talent that he can just do what he wants now at this point in his career? He's better than that position. Okay. No, that's his problem. He thinks that he can do whatever he wants. That's the problem. To be a huge hip-hop head?
Starting point is 00:08:46 Is his favorite rapper not Redman? Why is he grabbing Ed Sheeran for these features and shit? This doesn't seem like a hip-hop album for someone that now just wants to create cool shit because he's done with his career and providing what the whole masses want. This is a masses album. This isn't a hip-hop album. You and I love Ed Sheeran. Shut up. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:09:04 No, Ed Sheeran is great. What are you talking about? I like every last one of these features. That's why I don't understand. I like Ed Sheeran. I know Em to be the real hip hop head and he's finally at a point in his career he could completely do a hip hop album. Oh please. This is a pop shit.
Starting point is 00:09:21 He's a fucking pop star. He don't have to conform to't have to he don't have to conform to this shit anymore very clear he doesn't need to we're talking about m is a white pop star i agree pop only means aligning himself yeah but he's one of the biggest yeah but that don't mean you have to make that type of music shit he became a pop star by doing hip-hop shit exactly it's hip-hop uh my name is is hip-hop but he's rapping and dr dre it's a dr dre beat listen i don't care i'm not invested i'm not i mean i don't there's nothing for me to say i can't say anything because i gotta hear it i have nothing to say because it unfortunately if if I say anything, people take it as some type of confirmation.
Starting point is 00:10:09 And please be clear, I don't have any information. I've been kicked out that group chat. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don't even. You wasn't invited to any sessions? I used to get the little sluggish anniversary. No, I didn't get nothing.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I don't get a text from nobody. I ain't get a birthday text. That's just my opinion from the track list. Why didn't you put Slow the House on that album? I felt he could have put some hip hop.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Why are we starting with, who cares? Wait, Slow the House on what album? On the M album. This album? Well, Joe doesn't rap. I'm retiring.
Starting point is 00:10:41 They could have put Joel Crook and Royce on it. There's an old Joe verse. I do think it says something that just the mere thought that we're starting the podcast this way is like excruciating to me. Okay, how would you like to start?
Starting point is 00:10:57 Not because of what we're talking about. I don't care about that. What do you want to start with? I just don't think, and this is what me and Ice was arguing about all weekend, I don't think that it's like we're in a different world where that's not the hip-hop we're in anymore, where that release is the dominant news of the day. Well, it was. Okay, so let's start with the dominant news.
Starting point is 00:11:21 The Knicks are on a 10-game losing streak. Nigga, more. Are you crazy? I didn't know what the dominant news was. What's the dominant news? The Knicks are on a 10 game losing streak? Nigga, are you crazy? I didn't know what the dominant news was. What's the dominant news? Let me know. I want to talk about
Starting point is 00:11:29 some shit we could crack on. I personally wasn't done joking on these hipster niggas with the last Henny Palooza. Oh, how was it? He wasn't at the last Henny Palooza, so there was no hipsters there.
Starting point is 00:11:39 How was it though? How was it? There was at least one hipster there. It was great. It was phenomenal. Terminal 5 was phenomenal. Did you cry?
Starting point is 00:11:46 I came close. Oh, my God. Some allergies might have acted up at the end. You were sad that the party was over? No, it was five years. I wasn't there to keep them off of me. Oh, God. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Oh, okay. Yeah, right. It's making sense now. You putting it together. They had the pressure on me. Next stage, that's what's going on. Word. I get it. Couldn't get the whole squad in. Niggas, you know what I mean? That's what happened. Supp had the pressure on me. Next stage, that's what's going on. Word. I get it. Couldn't get the whole
Starting point is 00:12:06 squad in, niggas, you know what I mean? That's what happened. Supplied that pressure. I got the text. From who? Come on, man. I'm your OG. I'm your OG is hilarious, man. That's some funny shit. Come on, tell us how it was, Rory. That's what it was, man.
Starting point is 00:12:21 That's our five-year anniversary. Five-year run, and you ain't just gonna end it with, I mean, it was. A five-year anniversary. Y'all had a five-year run, and you ain't just going to end it with, I mean, it was. A five-year run comes to an end, and it is. Every podcast I had to hear about Henny Palooza, Kansas. Atlanta. Henny Palooza, Idaho. St. Louis. Henny Palooza, Jacksonville.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Texas. And now all the Henny Paloozas is over. All you niggas tweeting on Sunday, man, so sad. What a run we had. Like, y'all niggas, it's jordan and all you got for us here for parties yeah like we are yeah so we need more yeah anytime i will try to talk about it i will completely clown it so i'm not even gonna set myself up anyway no i want to know what else happened regardless people drank hennessy people had a great time that's what it was what it was
Starting point is 00:13:01 no one had the flu and came back and drank a bottle and swag surfed and swag surf happened. Is anyone going to come forward? No, no one's going to come forward. How many sexual misconduct cases do you think y'all have coming your way? Zero. Listen, what's that do to Henny Palooza doc? The doc. Oh, it's been shot.
Starting point is 00:13:20 It's been shot. Oh, I know. I have it. Joe got gotta narrate for sure oh no well I'm narrating on mine I can't speak for what
Starting point is 00:13:28 Kaz is doing on his so some speaking of that some chick had tweeted like when you know when they was exposing
Starting point is 00:13:33 everyone on the timeline not even like celebrities they was like oh I hope no one from the Henny Palooza team gets exposed I love those guys too much I was like
Starting point is 00:13:41 this is your way to invite us into this conversation. Thanks a lot. Listen, let me just paint the picture for you listeners who are unfamiliar with the Henny Palooza squadron. Gang, gang, gang. Squadron. Gang, nigga.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Thank you. A group of 20-something-year-olds. That's very untrue. Are traveling. I'm 27. I'm the youngest. Are traveling. Oh, all right. It's 30 plus. All right. very untrue are traveling I'm 27 I'm the youngest are traveling oh alright
Starting point is 00:14:05 it's 30 plus alright well 5 years ago it was a group of 20 something year olds cause that's what I was talking about a group of
Starting point is 00:14:13 20 something year olds friends are traveling city to city in Airbnbs drinking Hennessy and drinking Hennessy and throwing the biggest
Starting point is 00:14:23 party ever now sounds like good clean fun to me now and drinking Hennessy and throwing the biggest party ever. Now. Sounds like good, clean fun to me. I'm not saying that somebody ain't coming forward, but they probably paid a couple. Harvey thought he was having good, clean fun too. Yo, the number on him is up to 600. What?
Starting point is 00:14:43 How you even talk to 600 girls? Ma, you're not supposed to... Now, that's 600. how do you even talk to girls now that's funny i can see why we don't get sponsored that was funny wait we'll never get a sponsor with maul yo i just see what complex goes through with me 600 come on man come on that's why who knows that's ridiculous that's that's crazy 600 women have come forward to say that a man sexually Maul you and I and I won't disclose any names but you and I have played
Starting point is 00:15:12 truth or truths in my house where men have said yeah I fucked 600 chicks and then that same nigga fucked in the crib from that game but we knew he was lying though
Starting point is 00:15:22 600 is a wild body count. He was lying. Nah. Nothing about him says he's fucking 600. Omar wasn't lying. Wait, you can't do that. I don't think it was
Starting point is 00:15:31 it was his man that said that. I don't think it was Omar that said that. Nah, O said that. I thought his homeboy said that. Nah, O said that. Who was it? Who homeboy pulled the hammer
Starting point is 00:15:40 out in front of the girls and then didn't leave with nothing? You know how crazy you gotta be for listen, you playing true for the end of the girl's scene leave with nothing you know how crazy you gotta be for listen you playing truth or dare and the girls story is so wild that you have to now tell it yeah like okay so we playing truth or dare right so the girls tell this one dude he talking crazy he make chicks he made like 300 girls squirt i thought this you know that guy that guy i thought this nigga was like a unicorn or something i'm like like, wait, you did what? So he's going off.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Well, you know the guy that peaks the girl's interest and then goes hard? He was that guy. Yeah, 300 girls, square. Wait, square? You know what square is? Like, all of that. So he's extra. Yeah. And it's definitely used in your man, can't do what I do line.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yeah. So the women are like, well, let us see. Pull your dick out. So you know, the niggas get up like, hold up. So we leave the living room we like we out of here cause homie was like he ready
Starting point is 00:16:27 he like alright cool so we like whoa whoa whoa before you do that we leaving we leave we left
Starting point is 00:16:33 we leave the living room I left the living room and the kitchen he come back I left all the rooms close to the living room yeah so when he finished
Starting point is 00:16:42 doing what he was doing we come back them bitches faces Was mad Chicks didn't look like They were too like You know what I'm saying Like nothing had happened
Starting point is 00:16:51 And then it's like The rest of the night The rest of his night Was fucked Like he didn't have Their faces looked sad Yeah like They wasn't even speaking
Starting point is 00:16:58 To him at the The rest of the night It was kinda like You backed out Yeah like you backed out And that's it Like you ain't even Getting no conversation After that That was crazy to me but 600 women i can't
Starting point is 00:17:10 believe that oh drop that line in the truth of truth like and it was hard like a chick asked himself truth of truth oh how many women have you slept with in your entire life and women are always so amazed at a man's number because how they think what they think our number should be and what a nigga number is is normally very different. Listen, let me tell you. I mean, y'all, mine is one.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Let me tell you why that's a lie. First of all, you can't remember fucking 600 women. That's true. Number one. You not counting that. Because if you remember that,
Starting point is 00:17:38 you remember all their names. I totally disagree with what Maul said. No. I think the exact opposite. Niggas cannot, you cannot keep track of 600 women you had sex with. My number is anywhere near that high and I have no idea. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:17:50 You can't keep track. That's disgusting. That's false, man. Out of 600, how many do we think were like A1 bitches? Yeah, none. Whoa, that's a different conversation. I don't care if they was all terrible. You're not going to remember 600 women.
Starting point is 00:18:01 You're not going to remember that. You're not going to remember that. Can I rebut it? That's why every time Will Chamberlain slept with 10,000, you're not gonna remember that i you're not gonna remember can i rebut it that's why every time will chamberlain slept with 10 000 you're not gonna remember that it was cool to say all right well i was gonna bring up will chamberlain at we do believe that he fucked a lot of women absolutely you could average it out and i do believe the amount of days in a year and you're thinking about how many i was fucking at least five times a week five different women By sheer average, you can count.
Starting point is 00:18:26 There are ways to figure that out, man. I disagree with what you're saying. If I'm an athlete. You could roughly figure it out. Because you may not remember 600 partners, but you can remember 600 times. Not sex, times. So I can remember a whole lot of tour dates.
Starting point is 00:18:44 If me and you just sit there and just start talking, can remember a whole lot of tour dates if me and you just sit there and just start talking yeah we can remember a lot of tour dates and a lot of studio sessions you're gonna forget a lot and 100 but i'm saying but i don't have that number in excess that way so all i'm saying is for a nigga that does like a nigga that's that that loose with his dick and just going if o had a show every night. Get the fuck. First of all, I'm going to believe
Starting point is 00:19:08 that you slept with an even amount of women. No, he rounded out. I'm going to believe 600 on the dot. Look at the 601 tonight. Yeah, like get the fuck. Like if he would have said 573,
Starting point is 00:19:17 I would have been like, damn, he might have really said it. He don't got a.75 in there. 600 on the dot? Like you stopped at 600. Get the fuck out of here, man. But I think that's me rounding.
Starting point is 00:19:26 You should stop at 600, by the way. I think he did say an exact number. He did. He said 600. But, Parks, listen. This is the funny shit about that. He said that, and some of the women were turned on by it. And he fucked that night.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I thought you said he didn't. So, 600 won. No, he did. Yeah. Oh, wait. He tried. No? I don't know. Something happened. No, he beat that night in the bathroom. I don't know. I thought you said he didn't So 601 No he did Yeah Oh wait he tried No I'm happy Nah he beat that night
Starting point is 00:19:48 In the bathroom I don't know Y'all are gonna get Someone coming forward I don't know what She was talking to me about Y'all shit sound way wilder Than Henny Palooza
Starting point is 00:19:55 It wasn't any of us So whatever Yeah y'all stole our idea Y'all stole our idea They stole our whole fucking Yeah we was having Henny Palooza Before we even knew
Starting point is 00:20:07 It was Palooza Nah for real Want some real shit I was having E&J Palooza Nightpool Palooza Joe by the fireplace Palooza Y'all should've Monetized it
Starting point is 00:20:16 Relax Joe by the fireplace Palooza That was a Palooza That'd be a funny flyer You by the fireplace At least five times Out of the week But yeah
Starting point is 00:20:28 Harvey Weinstein Said he 600 women 600 women coming forward For that I don't believe that I don't believe He did that
Starting point is 00:20:35 And that's 600 that Came forward That nigga 100% Did all that shit No I'm not saying He wasn't inappropriate With some women 600
Starting point is 00:20:44 That's crazy He was wild He's done a lot of movies Yeah but all that shit. No, I'm not saying he wasn't inappropriate with some women. 600? That's crazy. He was wild. He's done a lot of movies. Yeah, but 600 is crazy. That's a lot of people on set. That's a lot of rap parties. Yo, first of all,
Starting point is 00:20:53 you know what 600 women look like standing in a room? That's why, yeah. Like, if it was 100 women in here, and by the time we go to our Spectre, it was 300 bitches
Starting point is 00:21:00 in there last night. Yo, you might sell out Highline Bullring. That's just what men do. We see 50 women, and we be like, yo, it was fucking lit. It was like 400 chicks in there last night. Yo, you might sell out Highline Ballroom. That's just what men do. We see 50 women, and we be like, yo, it was fucking lit. It was like 400 chicks in there last night. Nigga, it was 50 girls in there last night. That's just what men do.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Like, we see 50 women, and it just, the number explodes. Like, yo, it was like 500 bitches in there last night. And then you have the guy that says they was all ready, too. Oh, yeah. That's Maul. And none of them was ready. That's Maul. Hold up.
Starting point is 00:21:24 That is exactly who Maul is whenever I said a chick was ready was she not ready did somebody not beat she was not ready who all of them nah that's not true
Starting point is 00:21:33 if I ever if I tap Rory and be like yo shorty right there is ready not saying he gonna smash Rory's gonna say I am involved and don't speak to me that way

Johnny wanted the off-white sneakers. He's from South Jersey, so it's like they do raffles out there. So that's a heavy raffle area? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:20 And Johnny's cool, so I don't know why he would even be entering a raffle contest. Yeah. I think Johnny's a cool dude. All right, but what do you think about people who enter raffles to wear sneakers? Yeah, that's crazy. I miss out on a bunch of sneakers because I'm just not with all this new shit. I'm not going through all these. I feel like I'm on an episode of fucking Double Dare trying to get a pair of sneakers at the end.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Like, what the fuck is going on? Why do I got to do all this to get a pair of sneakers? Double Dare. You are mad old that you just referenced Double Dare. Yeah, Double Dare was just shit. that you just referenced Double Dare yeah Double Dare was a shit y'all remember Double Dare of course
Starting point is 00:46:47 yes mall I used to be mad when them niggas didn't get the slime I'm like nigga dig in the nose the flag is right there word how I see the nose
Starting point is 00:46:55 on a standard D fucking TV and you got the shit right in front of your face right that was a great show that was a great show do y'all really want to
Starting point is 00:47:03 get into this Miguel wait I have another question for mall before really want to get into this Miguel album wait I have another question from all before I attack Rory over his Miguel album I can't believe you thought
Starting point is 00:47:10 that song was terrible that Miguel record wait have you heard Miguel's album I heard like five joints over there I ain't hit a whole album yet though
Starting point is 00:47:18 but I like I like what I heard and that's five records it was only what ten records on there I think twelve I want to say something like that it's short
Starting point is 00:47:24 yeah so it's like 45 minutes it's not a long album at all and that's five records. It was only what, 10 records on there, I think? 12, I want to say. something like that, short. Yeah, so it's like 45 minutes. It's not a long album at all. And what is, Rory, what did you say you thought about? Oh, you said you don't think this album is as bad
Starting point is 00:47:34 as people are saying it is. Yeah, I saw a lot of hate when it came out, which made me not even want to listen to it, but then I said, let me give it a fair listen because I do like Miguel, and I think it's cool.
Starting point is 00:47:43 I think you guys are crazy for calling it bad. It's not his best work. But he's back to the... Well, I thought Joe was crazy for saying that record with J. Cole was bad. No, we was just laughing that Cole came on to a Come Through and Chill song and started talking that political shit. Oh, okay. I see what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:48:00 But that's not a bad record, though. It's an old record. That's an old record that he brought back and put Cole on to do. I just got you niggas brainwashed, man. I'm not buying no album and editing the song to my liking. Nigga, he put J. Cole on the fucking song. He J. Cole on the song. I like the record, though.
Starting point is 00:48:17 I'm not understanding what you're saying. That's actually probably one of the better records on the album. Yeah, like how am I brainwashed for thinking that the record is a good record? No, you brainwashed for thinking that J. Cole talking about Donald Trump on a song called Come Through and Chill makes sense for the song. Sometimes that gets you some pussy, though. Knock it off. I don't want to fuck no-
Starting point is 00:48:33 Well, if we go back to the Neil Soho conversation, that might get her to come through. Exactly. This guy's going to get the Neil Soho riled up. He's going to get the pussy angry. Maybe you like aggressive sex. Who knows? Y'all keep- I think- Well, I heard five joints off of it so far, and I thought it was- It's going to get the pussy angry. Maybe you like aggressive sex. Who knows? Y'all keep going. I think,
Starting point is 00:48:46 well, I heard five joints off of it so far and I thought it was. It's cool. He's back to the kaleidoscope dreams. Sound to me, he didn't try to do the microwave print shit
Starting point is 00:48:53 that he did on Wild Heart. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. I didn't. Well, what do you think was more Prince-ish?
Starting point is 00:49:00 Wild Heart or this? This. Oh, no, this ain't the record I'm trying to play. You think this is more Prince-ish than Wild Heart? I think there's a whole Prince segment of this album. Come on, knock it off. That's Prince. That's Prince too, by the way.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Oh wait, where's that other record that told you so shit all of this is all these records I'm playing are Prince where's that told you so record that's a Prince record but what's wrong with it sounding like a Prince record
Starting point is 00:49:34 the way he's done before it's nothing he's always been Prince influenced did you hear his first album yeah that's Prince influenced it's not lie to me and say it is
Starting point is 00:49:43 much more R&B but the direction sounds like R&B albums. We're not going to have an honest conversation. Come on, Rory. How long ago was that? Let's talk about the last five years of his career, not the last 10 years of his career. We will after you answer my question.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Was his first album- Traditional R&B. So it was not that way, right? No. Kaleidoscope Dreams, next. There was a couple of Prince-esque records. It was moving into that space where he was trying to become more of a musician.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Sure. And it was definitely Prince-influenced to an extent. For sure. But still sounded like Miguel to me. Right. Wildheart, on the other hand, felt like he was trying to go to Prince. He's definitely... I didn't hate Wildheart.
Starting point is 00:50:18 I didn't hate it, but... He's using more electric guitar on a lot of his records. Yeah. But I don't think you just say, oh, he's trying to sound like Prince. Like, oh. I don't think he tried to. I think he kind of went away from him doing that. I think Miguel is better than him giving us, where's this shit?
Starting point is 00:50:35 Oh, did I leave it? Did I erase it? Than him giving us a song called Banana Clip. He's better than that. And in the song, he's just referencing all the guns and bullets and ammo yeah that's trash my nigga he from la you don't know his life that is trash that's i'm just i'm just telling you my opinion even if the music sounds good which it does this is good music
Starting point is 00:50:58 it's him that ruins it he, my love, like a rifle, Draco. Look. There's a war on love, look around you, and now you about to name every gun in the world? I still like it. That's kind of hard. Yeah, I'm into it. That don't do it for me. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Maybe I don't want the neo-Soviet. Maybe I want the hood chick to come through. We're going to compare.
Starting point is 00:51:25 I got to compare to her. I'm a bit more creative. When chloroceptic drop, we're going to compare to two records. Then Miguel's telling me there's a war. When chloroform comes out. There's a war on love. Grab your Draco. No, I'm sorry, bro.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I'm not rolling, Miguel. I'm not rolling with that. That is a lazy effort. That is a lazy writing. You've got a great composition and that's what you did. That's just him trying to fit in the trap shit, I think. That's trash. It's trash.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I don't disagree with that assessment. That is trash. I need this same. You can't make kaleidoscope dreams and then make banana clip. There's a war on love. Grab your drago. Huh? Can't balance? Man. I like this one.
Starting point is 00:52:10 I know. His love won't stop. Got that extendo. So you just don't like the metaphor? No, I think the metaphor is cool. For me personally. This whole shit. That? No, nigga. No. I'm asking what? you just don't like the gun
Starting point is 00:52:27 metaphor it's love it's horrible writing it's horrible it's horrid right it's like nails on a chalkboard writing that's what i don't like as a writer that's what it sounds like okay so is his writing like that on the other 11 or just that one in particular all right let's do it here's another one. This is the one record. This is another one that he ruined himself. This is good music. I don't need to hear you say City of Angels
Starting point is 00:52:54 nine million times over this great loop. Come on, man. Let's call a fucking spade a spade. What do you think about the intro with Ross? With Ross? I like it. It's a great song uh pineapple skies i like it cool uh skywalker skipped i've no way podcast how i felt about that record when it came out yeah not on board i like banana clip uh hate it wolf record i hate that one too harem has actually been the only song that people that were hating that that is the song that is the standout track on this album it is the best track on this album it's the only track on this album
Starting point is 00:53:33 that stands and you can put it on any miguel album and that is my point about miguel i think miguel's too talented for these other throwaway records banana Banana Clip is a throwaway. You're not telling me that you went in the studio and wrote that down. You're focusing on that one record. No. I played City of Angels, too. Okay. Play Wolf. Yeah, I got to listen to that.
Starting point is 00:53:53 This whole run. I don't mind Wolf. I like Wolf. I don't mind Wolf, either. I'm extra with Wolf. City of Angels, I said I did skip that one halfway through. I didn't like it. Everything after that.
Starting point is 00:54:04 No. Anointed is great. Now was kind of, I felt like he was trying to do, angels i said i did skip that one halfway through i didn't like it everything after that but no anointed is great now was kind of i felt like he was trying to do what was the outro on kaleidoscope dreams was it was it called kaleidoscope dreams no candle and sun yes yeah he was trying to do that felt like he was trying to do that it didn't meet there because that song is one of his best songs no let me ask you a question when candle and his son was on that album right did it feel my favorite mcgill song but did it feel like he was trying to put that song on that album, right? My favorite Miguel song. But did it feel like he was trying to put that song on that album? Did it feel like at that juncture of the album
Starting point is 00:54:28 it was, hey, I need this song here like it does here on this album? No, I think we're saying the same thing. I felt like he was trying to redo that
Starting point is 00:54:35 and it felt forced. So now I didn't like but anointed I like. Then you're agreeing with why I don't like I never said I liked every song on this album. I just don't think
Starting point is 00:54:43 it's as bad as y'all keep saying it is no I'm saying you're agreeing with my overall my overall assessment if you can admit to that which is what
Starting point is 00:54:52 this was forced there was throwaway records on Kaleidoscope Dreams and I'm not holding him to that cause if that's like I said
Starting point is 00:55:00 if that's his best album and that was your peak then cool I just don't think that but two efforts later well I think that is his best album I don't know if he peaked but to me that's his best album and that was your peak then cool I just don't think that but two efforts later. Well I think that is his best album. I don't know if he peaked but to me that's his best album. Well if I have to judge it on the music that he's putting out now
Starting point is 00:55:12 then he's peaked and there's nothing wrong with that. I would like to hear him with a really good producer. I agree with Parks I think him trying to do everything I don't like when artists try to do everything and let me point this out not that this matters to anyone, but someone said it to me and I scratched my head.
Starting point is 00:55:28 I'll say it to y'all. Last two albums recorded in Los Angeles. First two albums recorded in New York. It's definitely something to be said for location. Does that matter to any of you? Yeah. Where you record your album? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:44 Well, these guys don't make music. Yeah, I mean, that has something to do with it, but I think more so it might be him, like what he's going through, where he's at in his life. I think, yeah, I'm with you, Parks. I think environment. Yeah, to creators, the environment absolutely matters. So now.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Yeah, but is he recording in LA or is he living in LA? Well, he recorded in LA. I don't know where he lives. I think that goes more towards people that collab a lot. Because you see when rappers move to L.A., how many more features get added to their album because that's where everyone lives and they're all in the same studios.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Yo, everybody really did pick up and move to L.A., man. For sure. Yeah. I was checking the mailbox, and I didn't see it in there but I'm just gonna assume it's the mailman and and he lost my invite to Khaled's party that was at his house him and puff everyone was there I know he sent me an invite yeah Hayden or Or maybe you just weren't invited.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Nah. No. Okay. I'm just going to roll with it. I would not invite your OG. Your Khaled's OG too? No, I said you. They would invite me.
Starting point is 00:56:56 It would say that. It would say OG you're invited to? No, it would say Rory's OG. Rory's OG. That party looked small. I don't need you to repeat everything. And I don't know why you think that's so fucking funny anyway. That's OG. Rory's OG. That party looked... Mom, I don't need you to repeat everything. And I don't know why you think that's so fucking funny anyway. That's hilarious. Because you can't tell somebody that you are an OG.
Starting point is 00:57:12 That's not how that works. Listen, so I didn't get an invite to that party, but all this time that Khaled was taking pictures in front of the big, nice fireplace and shit, I thought it was in Florida for some reason. No, it was in LA. It's in LA. I thought it was in Miami. Me too. It was in Miami in LA. It's in LA. I thought it was in Miami.
Starting point is 00:57:25 It was in Miami. Definitely was. I thought so too. Because he was riding around the little bay on the jet ski. But everybody keeps saying that the party was at his house in LA.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Plus, he probably got two houses. Khaled's killing shit right now. Khaled is really killing shit. As an industry insider, I'm telling y'all, it was in LA. So we can just dead that. You talking about the...
Starting point is 00:57:43 Let me just dead that. Shut up about the Then we just dead that. Shut up, Rory. As an industry insider. Rory is an industry insider. That's true. Trash. You inside the industry. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:57:55 No, I'm not. You work at Complex. I'm a vendor. You do a morning show for the industry. I'm a vendor. I'm a vendor. I'm a vendor.
Starting point is 00:58:04 I'm an independent vendor. The same as in music. Body draw. For an hour. You'll be up there for a while. He know all the security people to check in people. Hey, how y'all doing? Joe one of them niggas at work.
Starting point is 00:58:19 He's got a coffee guy. Yeah, get the fuck out of here. He's got a coffee guy. I talk to people at work. That's what we're saying. I talk to people at work. Yes, Maul. Yeah, that's what we're saying. You talk to people at your job. Yeah, you short again?
Starting point is 00:58:30 Yeah, you're a coffee guy. Just give it to me. All right, don't do the next time. Yo, all right. You short again is hilarious. You short again. Gotta be quicker with that With that money on my butt
Starting point is 00:58:46 You know I'm your OG Wait is that still a thing? You can't keep coming short People coming up short I'm pretty sure I don't know which Cause I don't even know How niggas sell drugs anymore
Starting point is 00:58:53 I don't either Niggas ain't stand Alright more Nigga gonna throw that out there I don't either But niggas ain't stand On the corner still right? I don't think so
Starting point is 00:59:03 I have pointed that Drug dealing has to have Had to evolve with the times, no? Well, now they sell pills. Do they sell it online? I'm sure Instagram is pretty... Is it on Amazon? Yeah, I'm sure there's some... And I've noticed in the city, I don't hear as much when I walk by people saying,
Starting point is 00:59:18 yo, I got the kush, I got the kush. That's true. I got that loud. I haven't been offered coke downtown in Manhattan in a while. I know, shit is changing. That's how you know Roy's a hipster. He walks. Last time I walked into the city.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Nice try. Well, listen to you. That joke fell. It's cool, man. You've had some good jokes today. You do that a lot. Anytime the joke is effective, you say it fell. Because it did.
Starting point is 00:59:39 No one laughed. No one laughed. It was quiet. Anytime it's effective, he's the first one to floor. Nope. That was a fail joke. It's the fight work, nigga. You're my OG.
Starting point is 00:59:49 I got to tell you when you're wrong. Every time the joke, you say it failed. Wait, I was about to get. Oh, let me tell you what else you niggas is doing. You niggas is money laundering through Bitcoin. You think you're slick. That's number one. And number two.
Starting point is 01:00:01 You're a snitch. Damn. And number two, another thing about Bitcoin. Boy, I'm sick of you niggas, boy. You're a snitch. Yeah. Word. And number two, another thing about Bitcoin. Boy, I'm sick of you niggas, boy. You trendy fuckity fuck. Oh, you niggas are not buying Bitcoin. It's a lie. I want to be the first to say it. I see a lot of you with the lies.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Okay. So what's wrong with that? Maybe I want to tweet boss up. Just bought some stocks. Because this is the problem. Because this is the problem. Because this is the problem. Let me tell you what the problem is. Can't hashtag boss up? Stocks is the one thing that you lying ass niggas have to chill out about. Stocks is not like, even if you find a hot stock, you ain't supposed to share it with
Starting point is 01:00:38 the whole fucking universe. I want y'all to shut up. Even though, I mean, Bitcoin, the cat's out the back. You're doing a lot of hating over here. About what? Joe's a hater. That's true. People talking about Bitcoin.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Yeah, but niggas got to stop. I'm actually trying to get some. And it's expensive. It's very expensive. It's going to keep getting expensive. That's why Joe's taking more people out of buying. That's why Joe mad. If you broke ass niggas at home.
Starting point is 01:01:01 That shit about to fall off. Broke niggas at home. So, yeah, I just dot bodied that. A hundred shares. How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:09 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:09 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:09 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:10 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:10 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock?
Starting point is 01:01:10 How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying stock? How you body buying think of man oh well let me get back to my fucking uh list since we're not gonna argue about miguel anymore something else with yeah why does this thing never recognize my face because you always look different oh so this is what's funny now now i don't care about uh i try to stay out of people's personal business so i'm i'm never gonna talk about no you don't no i do any nigga that say he always tried to stay out of people's personal business never try to stay what i mean i mean domestic anyone that says they mind their business
Starting point is 01:01:48 usually don't ever mind they but my job is to mind other people's business in some variation i suppose but what i'm saying is now i forgot what the fuck i was saying damn you don't oh i'm talking about people's domestic, like their relationship business. Yeah, that's a lie too. But anyway, hey man, so Cam and Juju broke up, but I don't care about that part. I'm hearing a whole lot, like Sin looked at me the other day and said, yo, I'm not having fun. Damn. I was like, so, nigga? You're pregnant now.
Starting point is 01:02:24 It's a little too late for that. What the fuck is you talking about? It was worse so then she she shocked me a bit with that and i'm and i'm lying of course just for the sake of the story but it did come up she shocked me and i said to myself yo you knew fucking kids man i can't believe that i'm not having fun ism anymore is a real line i can't believe that you millennials have accepted that wait what does she? You could never tell your girl back in the day I'm leaving you because you're not funny anymore. And she obliged. And she listened. Oh, my bad.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Yeah. Hold on. How you become a victim? Wait, wait, wait. Back to what Cyn said. What does she mean she's not having fun? No, no, no. She didn't really say that.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Oh. No, that's what Cam said about the juju relationship. Oh, Cam said that. He left her. Cam said they broke up because he wasn't funny anymore. And I understand what he's saying. Only men understand fun. Women don't understand fun.
Starting point is 01:03:11 Women are happier when there's less fun. And especially, I can see when you're getting more brand conscious and you're worried about your look and how you're perceived. I thought that was part of his brand. No, not Cam. I'm talking about her. Oh, you think she's becoming more branded? Well, no. I'm taking that from him, from his Breakfast Club interview.
Starting point is 01:03:32 I hate when people say their brand. I hate that. Me too. There's something about that. Even if it is a brand, it's still a brand. That's my brand. I'm not going to destroy my brand. Bitch, you made $200 last month. It's funny that you say that. What fucking brand i'm not gonna destroy my bridge bitch you made 200 last it's
Starting point is 01:03:45 funny it's funny that you say that brand are you it's real funny you say that because just earlier i was thinking about someone who shall remain name was beating me down about their brand and it made it made me wonder what is that what is a brand what is a brand what do you have to do to be able to call yourself a brand? I wanted to ask. So I'm asking. I'm going to start with the basic. Have an LLC. Let's start right there.
Starting point is 01:04:11 Can't be a brand without an LLC. Or taxes, unfortunately. That's a couple hundred dollars in lawyer fees. Okay, so everyone can indeed do that. Of course. So now once I do that, I am a brand. In this day and age of social media, everybody feels like they're a brand because they have a website.
Starting point is 01:04:29 I think what people think their brand is is their perception, which isn't true because it has to do with money. And people think their brand is all perception. You niggas are not brands. You just have a Twitter. Word. Yeah, at name is not a brand. Yo, I hate to be the bearer. Well, no, I love being the bearer of that. You n have a Twitter. Word. Yeah, at name is not a brand. Yo, I hate to be the bearer.
Starting point is 01:04:46 Well, no, I love being the bearer of that. You niggas are not brands. Y'all not branded. I'm serious. No, you're right. I agree with you. I agree. That's why I hate when people say that.
Starting point is 01:05:01 Like, just because a nigga booked you, they don't even get booked. Just because you have a fucking Twitter. Yo, are people still getting booked for like hostings and shit like that? I just saw a flyer with Mariah Lynn and Tahiri and DJ Swift. You going? Swift Z or some shit. I didn't know I was like that. You going?
Starting point is 01:05:18 So I finally watched the episode of- Are they even making money anymore? Because I remember the walkthrough, you could make a little bit of money at one point. I feel like they're just taking these walkthroughs and these hosting gigs damn near for free just so it looked like they still work. These bitches just trying to look active. Yeah. That is all you niggas are trying to do. Just so they could, quote unquote, clap back in the IG comments.
Starting point is 01:05:37 They're just building their brand, guys. Yeah. I finally watched that episode of Love & Hip Hop. Oh, but wait, time out. Before you say that, because Parks just made me think of it. How long? All right, this is my last question. How long do you get?
Starting point is 01:05:51 What time is allotted for you to build your brand before you can't say that anymore? The more you build it, the more you can talk about your brand. Not even that. The more you build it, you don't have to talk about it. People are going to talk about it for you. That's the reality okay so michael in 10 years if my brand is not built do i still get to say building my brand or is it over yeah that's how you build your brand it's by talking about building your brand so you never get to run out of saying i'm building my brand how are you gonna brand yourself without
Starting point is 01:06:22 your brand no that's when people just gotta asking how many more supplies you need to build your brand. Yeah, that's what I'm asking. How much building are you doing? Normally, when you start to build something midway, midway you can look at your creation and tell if you want to continue it. You're still at the basement. You ain't even put two or three floors in the building this year. Maybe if they got curators, more curators involved with their brand. I don't ever want to say curators.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Oh, I'm glad that word is out of here. The curators. They did get the curators the fuck out of here. I'm trying to come up with a cool design for this flyer that I'm trying to do, or image design I'm trying to do for it. So you're trying to curate it? Right. And I really want to use the word curators, but man, I can't.
Starting point is 01:07:03 These niggas fucked it up. But I want to use it like the real meaning. What, you're going to have an art exhibit? Yes. Oh, okay. Yeah. Then you can actually use it. That is exactly what I'm trying to do.
Starting point is 01:07:14 But still, it takes away. They ruin the work. Yeah. You can't say it. It looks corny. I'm going to try to make it look cool on my image. We also got tastemakers out of here, but then they became influencers,
Starting point is 01:07:24 and we're close to getting influencers out of here. Who are some of today's influencers? Some of the biggest brands, Joe. Thank you for asking. Anyone with above a thousand followers considers themselves an influencer. Look at me, Wildman, right there. Who is this nigga? You. He's a heavy loser right now.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Word. Look at us collabing on the brands. No, we're not. We're not collabing on the brands no we're not we're not collabing on the on the brands um i wasn't on for that fun thing man but whatever are you still having fun in your relationship 100 what looks like you're having fun we have a lot of fun we do if we don't do shit else we have fun uh a round of applause for my... Hold up, man, while I'm talking about my girl. Let me put a little... When is the baby due?
Starting point is 01:08:10 Yeah, we have a lot of fun. When is the baby due? Soon. I'm not going to announce it on this podcast, but it should be any day now. We're raising a king. God. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:08:25 Whatever. So listen, Russell Simmons has stepped down from all of his businesses. Another woman has come forward with claims of inappropriate sexual behavior. He released. So Netflix put out the all deaf comedy series this week without his name attached. All deaf digital has been moving with regularly scheduled business uh they've made no mention of it i'm
Starting point is 01:08:52 assuming they will not um yeah they shouldn't that would be smart that would just be a bad idea too um is all deaf like publicly traded though or did russell just solely own that? Who took over? I don't know. I don't know. Yo, can I ask you something? He's probably just not the face.
Starting point is 01:09:10 I'm sure he didn't lose any percentage of that. How does that... And I'm not... Are you about to lose all of our women? No, no, no. I'm trying to figure something out. How do you go about... How does this work like if a woman comes and says he came at me in a you know improper
Starting point is 01:09:30 way sexually 20 years ago like i gotta step down from all my businesses if that's like an accusation like does she not have to prove that does she not i don't i don't and i'm being serious i don't understand how that works because if that's the case, every man in power in business somewhere is in danger. I'm sure that they have some sort of people to back them up, I would think. But how do you go about proving that is what I want to know. I don't know. Well, with other people corroborating your story, I guess. But I still don't understand how that works.
Starting point is 01:09:59 Like, I don't get it. Like, a woman could just come to an office with police and say, oh, he sexually assaulted me 19 years ago at the Vibe magazine party. And I have to step down from all my businesses? Yeah. I don't, without proving it? Well, you don't have to. They're just doing it to save face. They're doing it to keep their business.
Starting point is 01:10:21 I'm about to say it takes away nothing of whether it's true or not or anything that did happen to these women these companies will work with advertisers or they'll work with whatever consumer it is and they don't want to be attached to anything that has to do with that so unfortunately but what if it's not true this is what it doesn't matter in business to them i'm not saying this is right or wrong it's just how it is that's crazy they got to keep they have to just keep their name away from anything that has to do with something like that. That's crazy. If it's not, but no,
Starting point is 01:10:47 let me, let me interject. If it's not true, I would assume that we would hear, we would hear something to refute the charges or the claims period. And you would conduct your business that way as well. Uh, all the statements that are ever released always allude to,
Starting point is 01:11:04 uh, yes, something happened that night. I don't remember it the way that she ever released always allude to, yes, something happened that night. I don't remember it the way that she does. That's what all the male statements say. So it's enough to tell you something did occur. And also, what's the alternative, Maul? If a woman makes these claims, it's very fragile and delicate. You've got to be careful with even how you refute them because you come off looking away.
Starting point is 01:11:27 You do. Okay, here's the thing. Men in certain positions, right? You have men like Russell Simmons and Harvey Weinstein. These are powerful men in powerful places. They make things happen. We all have been around events in the industry and you've been to parties.
Starting point is 01:11:45 A lot of these women go there targeting these type of men let's just be real there are women that go there that want to meet the man that has the power they want to get in a relationship whatever they want to if they want to be an aspiring actress singer whatever right they want to go to these parties to be around these men right if a man asks you to come back to his hotel room with him right right and the woman agrees to go right what did she think was supposed to happen before she agreed to go to a hotel room with a man that she just met i agree with you so glad we don't have sponsors i agree with you but no no but this is what information this is what i've seen making it okay no for some inappropriate yeah yeah what i've what I've seen. That's not her making it okay for some inappropriate sexual shit to happen.
Starting point is 01:12:26 What I've read in the statements by these women in a lot of these cases is that it's, that's all cool, that's cool, that's cool, but then when they get there, some overly aggressive, you can't leave type shit is happening, which is where the problem, that's not good. Okay, now, if you're saying that somebody can't leave, then that's crazy. Right. But what I'm saying is, if you put yourself in these positions, right, because I've been to parties where I've seen women throw themselves at men, and men are like, yo, show these wild ones.
Starting point is 01:12:52 Right. We don't ever go to court and say, yo, she came at me, and she was grabbing on me, and this, that, and the third, kissing on my neck, like trying to, you understand what I'm saying? So it's like, where's the line at? Because now, is Russell Simmons able to say yo this woman came up to me in a party and she just was like
Starting point is 01:13:09 she wanted to be on in a movie she wanted to get in a film and she was just drunk and she was like sexually grabbing me I agree with you but the line is drawn
Starting point is 01:13:17 no you can't say that the line is drawn you can't say any of that the line is drawn no why can't a man say that well I'm asking because it's not appropriate it's not Why can't a man say that? I'm wrong.
Starting point is 01:13:25 I'm asking. Because it's not appropriate. It's not appropriate for a man to say that a woman's sexually assaulting him? There's a few reasons why. But one of them is it's not appropriate. Because I've seen women throw themselves at men and men weren't interested. For sure. And they went really far, you know, grabbing them, pulling on their clothes and grabbing I think women are guilty too.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Yes. Typically. There was a recent case of a man who came out and said he was raped or sexually abused by a woman and the woman laughed. There's been a lot of people who just laughed about Big Shaw the other week with the domestic violence. Or maybe it was that.
Starting point is 01:13:57 So this is what I'm saying. But also it is a bit different because, let's spade a spade, men are usually bigger and stronger than women. So when a man is doing something inappropriate sexually she's really at risk the way if a woman was doing something to a man he could probably defend himself a bit better and let's not act like there's so much equality uh between genders in corporate america that's true see that's and that's what i'm saying that's the problem it's like there's no equality it's like you almost at anytime you're alone with a woman now you're at her will like you're at her
Starting point is 01:14:31 mercy because as an artist or as a guy in power if i'm in my hotel room with a female and she decides next year she wants to say that something inappropriate happened in the hotel room that night well the reality is you can say that if you people will most likely believe her the reality is that you can refute that i mean you could and that happens yeah but even if even if i say it didn't happen right because i've seen this too that happens daily like women press rape charges they don't they don't get you know i understand maul's point i just think this is a bad time to argue it in this case. So when is the right time to argue? Because Kobe was found not guilty of rape and people still call him a rapist.
Starting point is 01:15:10 That's true. So when is it the right time to address? He was found not guilty of rape. And people still refer to Kobe Bryant as, oh, he raped that girl in Denver. I'm going to read you an excerpt from Russell's book. And you know context changes things of course okay so with this new information out of course this reads differently than i'm sure it did when it was written but this says and i quote it was funny that i became known as a ladies man but i think it was because i was very obsessive
Starting point is 01:15:41 about women russell simmons wrote in his 2002 autobiography life and death sex drugs money and god i really took no for an answer and i believe my desire for these women my never giving up wore them down uh wore a lot of them down the hip-hop pioneer and entrepreneur said he became known for sending girls bouquets of balloons, and I'd do it every day for a week or more. I'm sure when that was written, it was very sweet and romantic. Today, it doesn't really help with all of these looming charges. I mean, that's been the big thing, too, is that a lot of the people that have been accused of these things
Starting point is 01:16:20 are like, yeah, it was wild. But Russell admits, and this is what i will say and and i won't argue maul's point but i do understand what i understand what he's trying to say but what i will say is this russell has has admitted that you know he was a wild nigga right like he has he has said this so did louis now he did not go into detail but to acknowledge that and and he seems to have made some changes in his life that's how it appears i do not know at all well and be clear i say this is somebody who who had business dealings who had business on the table with russell and and had to pull away because the op, this ain't, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:17:07 So please don't think I'm caping. I ain't. I just think that, I mean, when can you acknowledge that you changed? I guess that's my question. But sometimes what you've done in the past, you still have to answer for it, even if you do become a vegetarian and a yoga master. That's true. You still need to answer and face the consequences of your behavior.
Starting point is 01:17:31 Of course, we should all forgive people, but when it's certain things like sexual assault, you know, someone doing some coke, you'd be like, all right, well, he was wilding back then. Right. You could forgive someone for that. But when you're on coke and doing these types of things, yeah, you got to face. Well, to Maul's point, what somebody did say over the weekend in the crib, and hey, we didn't say this, so don't put this on us. I'm telling you what somebody in the crib said. Well, if it's an exchange between these Hollywood movie types and the woman in question and the woman agrees to it, isn't that a transaction at that point? Say again.
Starting point is 01:18:15 Go into detail. If I'm Harvey Weinstein, big time movie, big wig. What do you say if you suck my dick, I'll give you a roll. I'm telling you that I got a movie coming, and I can guarantee you the roll if the head is fire, and you then proceed to do that. Isn't that then a transaction?
Starting point is 01:18:35 No, because you can't make... Legally, if you make something under duress, it's not illegally... That's the word I was looking for. Duress. You can't threaten people with shit. That under duress, it's not illegally. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's the word I was looking for. Duress. Yeah, you can't threaten people with shit. That's duress?
Starting point is 01:18:50 That's not duress, man. What the fuck? See, this is what I'm saying. It's so many things when it comes to this shit. Well, I don't want to be insensitive. I'm not being, no. I'm trying. I'm looking for information.
Starting point is 01:19:00 The way you sound comes off a little. No, I'm looking for information. It's insensitive, and I agree with your sentiment. My only, but the main rebuttal is that, number one, consent is required at all times. And B, the gentlemen, for the most part, being accused are coming out and saying, yeah, I was wild. Duress, compulsion by threat or force, coercion, constraint. Oh, that is it.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Yeah, exactly. Oh, yeah, no no you can't do that yeah what there's no man that's fucked up but how is that how is that duress
Starting point is 01:19:30 cause she can either agree to it or not she's not on a duress that's duress if you're threatening someone's livelihood no no how is he threatening
Starting point is 01:19:37 her livelihood he's not threatening her livelihood he's not saying if you don't suck my dick you're not gonna I'm not making women
Starting point is 01:19:43 I wanna be very clear if you are listening to uh we don't agree with any of that shit no i listen any dude that's i don't agree with any of that i'm just trying to find out i'm actually shocked that so many of you niggas are creeps i'm not yeah i'm not i don't know why i always thought i always always want to shake a nigga hand for most nigga I just assumed that his game is a lawyer. I mean, I assumed that. I mean, dudes definitely. The things that these niggas are doing. I know a lot of creepy dudes.
Starting point is 01:20:14 I've been to a lot of creepy dudes. Every other day, somebody is coming out. But this is what I'm saying. How do we know which is real and which isn't, though? They all real. How do you know that? Because the guys are saying it's real all of them also you got to remember i'm not putting russell in this but a lot of these
Starting point is 01:20:31 industry dudes were nerds growing up they didn't get chicks now that they're in this point of power they do not know how to communicate with chicks except use their power that's true so you have to know they didn't grow up as the cool person in high school that was always yeah but i don't see how they don't have the only relationship they person in high school that was always talking shit. Yeah, but I don't see how- They don't have- The only relationship they have with women is through power. I'm scared every time we'll talk. No, I get that. Also, clearly this is a culture thing to some degree.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Did y'all see Bob McAdoo got fired? Yeah. Well, wait. Why did he get fired? I see that. I get it. Some men are inappropriate. I understand.
Starting point is 01:21:01 I'm not saying that all these men are innocent. So did Bob McAdoo. I'm just saying- Didn't work. Back to what you were saying if you know a woman is at a party at your event and she comes back to your hotel room and she's like, yeah, I want to get movies. And you say
Starting point is 01:21:13 that's duress though. Well, how is that duress though? Because she can easily say no and leave. I'm not holding her in my room hostage. She can easily be like, nah, I'm not with that. You can't just walk up to niggas with an ultimatum. No, you're in my room And we're having a conversation No That's not an ultimatum
Starting point is 01:21:28 We're in the That's definitely an ultimatum Now if she has the role That's the definition of an ultimatum If she has the role in the movie And you say Wait tell me You can't ultimatum me in my room
Starting point is 01:21:35 You sound nuts I mean you can't Ultimatum somebody Just because they're in your room You cannot No no I'm not saying I'm not saying No no listen to what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:21:42 I'm saying now Now if she has the part in the movie, and Harvey Weinstein has the power to have her kicked out of the movie, if she, now that's, to me, I understand that. But now, if you're just at a party, and you're aspiring, you know you're coming back to my room, we're talking, we're flirting with each other, whatever, and that conversation comes up, and you agree,
Starting point is 01:22:01 how did that, how were you under restraint or duress? Like, if I i say yeah now give me some head i i i'll get you on the set i'll get your partners move how was that under duress like you can easily like nah i'm not with that okay cool later bye like i don't understand that maybe the it's kind of hard it's hard to put yourself in that position by law it's not you by law you can't do that by law you can't do that. By law, you can't do that. And also, you don't know. And those laws are intended to stop that type of behavior. The woman can explain it to you, but you can't. You can't do that.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Yeah, exactly. Do y'all think Matt Lauer's getting paid? What do you mean paid? $30 million from NBC. No. He's what, suing? No, he's not suing. So he's owed, right?
Starting point is 01:22:41 Yeah, he's owed $30 million. Oh, he's going to get paid. Well, it depends what's in his right? Yeah, he's owed $30 million. Oh, he's going to get paid. It depends what's in his contract. Yeah, that's true. There's a morals clause in his contract. Well, then I don't know if he's getting paid. Well, that's why I'm asking. Because clearly he's broken the morals clause in his contract.
Starting point is 01:22:57 Well, we can't say clearly. We don't know what the morals clause entails. He has a button under. Yo, you niggas are going to get. What are y'all trying to get this podcast ruined? No, I'm just saying I don't know what the contract says he has a button under his desk
Starting point is 01:23:07 that locks the door automatically when women come in that breaks the morals I guess I don't know the full story yeah so you better shut up Parks before they hang you well no I just
Starting point is 01:23:16 I don't know what the morals he broke it Katie Couric even said that all he used to do was pinch her ass in the workplace that's wild that's some
Starting point is 01:23:22 yeah he was wild but what i'm saying is when you're somewhere for that long i'm sure he has dirt on somebody else in that building sometimes it's it's cheaper to just shut a nigga up it's true that's why i asked if y'all thought he would get paid or not maybe he won't get paid 30 million but he's gonna get something back back to your point of wondering if these dudes really are creeps. All the white niggas get to wild out and get paid. The white privilege,
Starting point is 01:23:50 I'm telling you. Bill O'Reilly get to fuck around and do all that wild shit and leave with 50 mil. Matt Lauer. Jesus. How do white privilege work? Anyway.
Starting point is 01:24:03 What are you saying, Rory? Well. Speaking of white privilege. Let me take it over to me. Let's go to our white privilege correspondent. Let me throw it to our fucking expert over here. No, it's funny. Hipster Bundy.
Starting point is 01:24:13 When you were saying you can't believe some of these dudes is creeps, I had never crossed my mind that Matt Lauer was a creep because my mother would watch that show when I was growing up and it would just be in the background. I never paid attention to him. Then I started seeing all these clips. I was like, this dude is a fucking creep. How did y'all not see this creepy guy was on TV for 35 years? It's the same thing with Louis C.K.
Starting point is 01:24:30 talking about all that wild shit. No, he's a creep on air. Well, I assume all the comedians are creeps. All the good comedians, you're a creep. Yeah, they probably are. Matt Lauer. I got the Louis C.K. him being a creep. It made sense.
Starting point is 01:24:46 They just got somebody else too they getting a nigga every day so I mean that leads to my what are y'all gonna do with these at the office
Starting point is 01:24:53 holiday party this year not you Rory are you going to the complex one you're not going with a my iron that's a yes
Starting point is 01:25:04 no you want a my iron matching in ugly Christmas sweaters no I don't think the complex is having a Christmas party I'm sure they will them niggas hang out together
Starting point is 01:25:12 every weekend they do all of them click anybody that work at complex insta story they're all together they really move in a click
Starting point is 01:25:19 it was all Henny Palooza together too yeah I can see it they don't invite me nowhere I don't even know that we're having an office holiday party. I'm sure a complex is happening.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Everyone just whispers when they start saying Merry Christmas. Yo, I forgot. Both your bosses are at Def Jam now. Noah went over there and Paul Rosenberg.
Starting point is 01:25:35 You're bossless. Your career is in a dismay. What are you going to do now that your OGs are gone? He lied. Y'all niggas worship him now that your OGs are gone? He lied. Y'all niggas worship him. Both your OGs over at Def Jam. What you gonna do?
Starting point is 01:25:52 Lie. People don't get your little inside joke, Rory. So why don't you elaborate? Because you're not good at inside jokes. Is it an inside joke that Noah went to Complex and Paul Rosenberg went to Def Jam? Fucking lie. I think that was a pretty big topic
Starting point is 01:26:05 on the timeline and that's who listens to this podcast. The funny thing, I don't think it was that big of a topic on the timeline. Well, amongst industry insiders
Starting point is 01:26:11 such as Rory. Yes, yes. Any insider. Yeah, Rory. On the industry insider Gchat list we have. It was a big thing. All right,
Starting point is 01:26:18 so what are you asking me about? I've told you I'm not in these group chats. I don't have any information on Noah being at Def Jam. I don't have any information on Noah being a Def Jam. I don't have any information about Paul being a Def Jam. Paul is not my boss and Noah is not my boss. Well, not anymore.
Starting point is 01:26:31 I, much like you, don't have bosses. I'm unemployed. Well, who's my boss? I just said I, much like you. You said unlike you. I'm sorry. Don't have. You should listen to the diss.
Starting point is 01:26:44 My bad, guys. I don't know what he's talking about. Oh,ory interrupted with this noah shit so you interrupt i think you're about to go somewhere with this noah shit and then that's it you just drop your corny joke and then that's it flatline all right so you want to talk about noah go ahead tell us about no i don't come on talk about it you interrupted with this noah we wasn't talking about nothing we was gonna talk to talk about something, nigga. We always going to talk about something. Joyner Lucas, that's what we're going to talk about. Rap, hip-hop,
Starting point is 01:27:09 the shit that we didn't talk about last week, the shit that we forgot to talk about, the shit that we sat here and watched as we recorded the podcast and didn't talk about.
Starting point is 01:27:17 The racist shit? Yeah. Oh, now y'all don't want to talk about it. Last week, everybody was talking about the move. I would have preferred it
Starting point is 01:27:22 if it had an Ed Sheeran feature. I think I would have liked it a little bit better might have been hard how do you know the first guy wasn't ed sheeran definitely he looked like he ate ed sheeran might have been him nah jonah lucas did this video thing these series that he's been doing have been great also the casting i think hasn't been brought up how great these people are at rapping along to all that stuff just great yeah you niggas are the worst podcasters i don't know i don't know how people enjoy this podcast that was it all right then go ahead go ahead professional no i've been talking about this shit for a fucking week so why are we talking about not here because last week maul said yo
Starting point is 01:27:59 we gotta yo i'm real passionate About that That new join That's crazy I don't even believe I said that We did the podcast And that's great Next week yo We really gotta go in I said that
Starting point is 01:28:10 We gotta Yes nigga I didn't say that About that song What are you talking about Alright then forget it man You confusing me With somebody else
Starting point is 01:28:16 In Complex or something I never spoke about that record He's just lying I walked in Why y'all got Complex In y'all mouth so much today What's up with y'all I ain't heard that word so much
Starting point is 01:28:24 Because that's the only people That I know you to be around Is that office in here'all mouths so much today what's up with y'all I ain't heard that word so much because that's the only people that I know you to be around is that office in here more more I don't know what you do those are the only person that's people that you know me to be around
Starting point is 01:28:32 is people are complex well you're there every day you didn't stick around last week so what are you talking what you talking but this week yo listen first of all I came in last week
Starting point is 01:28:40 y'all were playing that and that was the first time I never said this is crazy what are you talking about I've never said that about this one. It's the lie post. I don't got no in-depth review of racist shit.
Starting point is 01:28:50 I told you how I felt about the joint and Lucas shit. I said, I think that he's painting himself in a corner with these type of joints, because this is maybe the third time he's done this. Yeah, where he doesn't- I think it's dope. Don't want to become the guy that only does that. Yeah, I mean, it's cool, but it's like, you don't want to paint yourself into that box where that's all you do i've heard some people say that it's problematic because at the end they kiss and make up and it's like oh you're racist and i'm not racist and it's
Starting point is 01:29:13 all good i don't know if that's true i haven't analyzed it enough to they do they do hug at the end well the point of the song i think was for to hear both sides and two people that are trying to get to know each other. But one is racist and one is explaining himself. I mean, I compared it to the LL Cool J, what's the name? I'm not, what the, accidental racist? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He compared it to that. I don't know if that's true.
Starting point is 01:29:37 LL was wild for that song. Super. Did y'all hear the freestyle that he put out? Yeah, it was dope. Who? Joyner? Joyner? Joyner over whatever that Lil Pump song is.
Starting point is 01:29:48 Oh, no. I heard a clip of it which I think actually I don't want to bring up Complex again. It might have been an Everyday Struggle clip I saw on the timeline.
Starting point is 01:29:56 Well, you guys are informing the people. I think it's great. Am I at work or not? Shit, we got some advertisers here. No, we don't have advertisers Which is probably Probably why I am at work
Starting point is 01:30:07 Well no What'd you think What'd you say On Complex We don't go And listen to that shit You gotta tell us Here
Starting point is 01:30:16 We don't go and listen to it It was dope It was dope Whatever He's past I'm over it Is Mesa top five Bad boy MC of all time
Starting point is 01:30:24 Oh wait no I'm calling Charlamagne right now That is true I'm over it. Is Mace a top five bad boy MC of all time? Oh, wait. No, I'm calling Charlamagne right now. That is true. I'm calling him. Actually, give me your phone, Rory. Charlamagne's running around. Charlamagne hates Mace. Clearly.
Starting point is 01:30:38 Before we call him, I will say, I don't know if you guys listened to the Breakfast Club Cam Ronron interview, but if you had never listened to those two diss records, you would swear the way Charlamagne was conducting that interview that Cam'ron tore Mase to fucking pieces and that Mase's diss record was terrible. And then the next Breakfast Club interview. So is he just a Mase hater? He has to be.
Starting point is 01:31:00 Okay. Because we look to Charlamagne to be the non-biased guy to ask us the questions and not let rappers just get away with saying an answer. Right. Cam said that he's never dismaced before in his life. And Charlamagne was like, yeah. But, I mean, even if he feels that way, that's cool. Charlamagne holds these rappers accountable and doesn't let them get away with answers like that. He let Cam get away with every single answer ever and then just agreed with him.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Hold up, tear that nigga up then, Roy. Oh, fuck, I took my thing out of pause. To say that Mace is not a top five bad boy MC. It's a reach. I think it could be argued, but it's a reach. Well, then, yeah. For more backstory. And that lets me know that Charlemagne hates Mace.
Starting point is 01:31:44 So I want to call Charlemagne to get to the bottom of this, some investigative journalism here. Even though he's already told me that he doesn't hate Mace, but that's a lie. This is Charlemagne. Can he hear us? Oh, shit. Talk to him.
Starting point is 01:32:00 Why do we have to speak to the phone? I just kicked my thing out. That's all. Ear. How are you blessed black and highly favored all right listen you are fucking bugging out here in the streets and you my man so i ain't gonna let you go out like that with some of these opinions rory has a lot of questions i'm not talking to rory first of all rory's white he's not old enough to talk to me about anything that we wait what'd you say about r, Rory's white. He's not old enough to talk to me about anything that we discuss. Wait, what'd you say about Rory?
Starting point is 01:32:26 I said Rory's white, and he's not old enough to talk to me about anything that we discuss. Because, see, the thing is, y'all are letting stardom overshadow skill set. And never have I said Mace is whack. Mace isn't whack at all. What I'm saying is, when it came to that bad boy roster, my man Hovain put it best. That was the 96 Bulls, and Mace was Ron Harper. If y'all don't shut the – Hovane is trash for that number one. That is not true.
Starting point is 01:32:54 Hovane. What is it? How do you refer to Hovane? Let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question. Was Mace better than Styles? No. No.
Starting point is 01:33:03 B-Dot said that. that's your man we don't hey but wait what you're talking to us not rap wait time out so let me be clear styles has been too nice for too long i do think that mace lyrically is better than a lot of niggas but he was he was that for a little quick second so no he's not better than style that's my second question because i've been trying to figure this out all day. When was he literally that nice? When? When did this murder Mace era that all these New Yorkers talk about?
Starting point is 01:33:33 All right, so you was in Columbia back then, so that's probably why you'd look at it like that. But when Mace was going at Hove, Charlamagne. When? Where? Where is it? Where is it? Is it on Cool Mix tapes? Because all the the clue mixtapes he was cool but he wasn't he wasn't on the same level as jadakiss or better
Starting point is 01:33:53 than styles okay so listen so let's talk about that mace when when they was on them clue tapes with the freestyles mace was the head nigga and the locks was the dogs that's how they were presented so clearly somebody made a decision back then to say mace is the nicest nigga or maybe they said or maybe they just said yo mace should go solo same thing with wu-tang meph was the solo artist you can't listen that don't mean meph was nicer than ghost or ray you on this podcast making sense now makes sense of you telling me that Black Rob is higher on the bad boy MC list than Mason. Have you ever heard
Starting point is 01:34:30 Life Story or The Rob Report? Yes. Yes. No, you haven't. Wait, what is he talking about? What is he talking about? This is all I ask anybody to do. I just ask anybody. Please go listen to Black Rob Life Story or go listen to Black Rob life story or go listen to black rob
Starting point is 01:34:46 the rob report and it's night and day it's not even close black rob has watched mace on his own record black rob didn't watch mace on 24 hours to live are you fucking no no no go back and listen charlamagne all right listen to this you think mace had a good you think mace's verse on 24 hours to live was the best verse on that song now that's a new question i didn't say that black rob when i was close to the ledge i probably be in a way with a bad spanish mommy lay between my he bodied that but no i don't know listen i'm not and this ain't no knock to me what mace did to you charlamagne come on come clean man hey and we listened to that Cam interview
Starting point is 01:35:25 You was biased as a motherfucking Tell us what Mace did, man I was biased I feel better now I feel much better now That's all I was waiting for Thank God All right
Starting point is 01:35:36 Then fine, I have nothing to ask It's a Cam interview Of course I'm going to be biased It's Cam talking about Mace Like, I don't see how that couldn't come off as biased in that moment Well, I don't know your history with Mace Or Cam I just know you as Yeah, i don't see how that couldn't come off as bias in that moment well i don't know your history with me i just know you yeah i don't know the history either i know you as the person on the radio that holds rappers accountable and doesn't let them get away
Starting point is 01:35:53 with lies you did let cam get away with some bullshit that's how i know you charlamagne tell me the lie tell me the lie cam says you let cam say he's never dissed mace in his life and you said yeah this is the problem with y'all generation. Y'all don't listen to words. Words still matter. Before I could even rebut, Cam said, and I'm not going to, he said, I've been talking about him for 15 years. I've been telling the truth.
Starting point is 01:36:17 I haven't been dissing him. Those are just stories. Truth could be a diss. Truth could be a diss. And you of all people, because you're so great at not letting rappers get away with that shit, you could have said, come on, Cam, you've dissed Mase. Even when you're telling the truth, you're dissing him. You say it in a condescending way.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Charlamagne got to give us his Mase beef. I'm not even thinking about the Cam interview. I promise y'all I don't have no Mase beef. What I like about this whole situation with Cam and Mase, it has brought up a different hip-hop conversation than I've had in a long time because my thing is this, and I've even heard y'all talk about it on y'all podcasts, like, where do you rank Mase and this and that? Y'all have never ranked Mase, and the reason y'all have never ranked Mase
Starting point is 01:36:56 is because Mase is just cool. And he was a big star. He sold a lot of records. Mase has a classic album, though. We don't rank Mase because of how he exited. He left. I don't think y'all rank Mase simply because he don't have that skill set. Mase was just okay.
Starting point is 01:37:14 Yo, did you hear Harlem World? You can't be okay with a classic album, Charlamagne, though. Now you jumping out the window. Harlem World is a classic album. Harlem World is borderline trash. Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. We can't see.
Starting point is 01:37:28 That's crazy. He's right, though. He's right in the fact that I think people from New York rate Harlem World higher than the rest of the world rates Harlem World. To say borderline trash? It's not borderline trash. That's crazy. Yo, yo, Harlem World had four songs and the rest was filler.
Starting point is 01:37:44 And I'm going to tell you something. I went back and listened to Harlem World last week and I thought I was bugging. I'm like, yo, maybe I really do hate Mase. You do. No, no, no, you do. You do. You really do hate Mase. I was talking to somebody from Bad Boy today.
Starting point is 01:37:58 I'm not going to say their name, but very high ranking official who's been there forever. And he goes, man, you know what? Rich Dallas? Rich Dollaz? Rich Dollaz was trash. That was the era where we would just put four big singles on an album, and the rest was filler. He said that out of his own mouth. He said we would put four big singles on a record,
Starting point is 01:38:15 and the rest was filler. He said you could ask anybody at any label, and they'll tell you that was the formula for that time. But I'm talking about an album. I'm not talking about the formula. All right, all right. Real quick, I just want to about the... Alright, real quick. I just want to read the Harlem World
Starting point is 01:38:27 track list. Ready? Please do. Do You Want to Get Money? Track 2. Gobbledy. I like that song. Listen to it now, Joe. No, it's trash now.
Starting point is 01:38:43 I'm talking about 97 when I was broke in the rehab. Okay, well, that's... It didn't... Harlem War didn't age well at all. Somebody just said it was a classic album. Wait, wait, time out. No, that... No, that is a classic album.
Starting point is 01:38:55 Wait, three, take what's yours. Garbage. Five, will they die for you? Okay. Okay. All right, so wait, wait, wait. All right, six six looking at me got garbage in hindsight oh that record is so trash in 2000 eight love you so it's kind of old it's whack nine the play away whack the best song on that album is niggas want to act with busting' Round. Niggas Wanna Act is next. Feel So Good.
Starting point is 01:39:27 Okay record, kind of corny. Yo, Charlamagne is rough, man. I ain't gonna lie. I didn't know. Charlamagne is a little corny. I'm with Charlamagne. It is. I'm rolling with you, bro. All of this shit we grew up on is a little, some of that shit we grew up on is a little
Starting point is 01:39:38 corny in hindsight, bro. I don't know if Harlem World is that. Harlem World to me was not that great at the time even. Besides the singles being hit singles. Cool. Well, you was boot camp. I'm a boot camp boot camp. Charlamagne, I'm going to call Mace, nigga.
Starting point is 01:39:52 I'm going to find out. Listen, I'm not saying Mace is whack either. All I'm saying is Mace was a good player on a really great team. So Sheik is better than Mace to you? Listen, Sheik is dope. Why do you act like Sheik is better than Mace, do you? Listen, Sheik is dope. Why do you act like Sheik's so bad? Whoa, whoa. I'm not part of that crew. I do know that Sheik is dope.
Starting point is 01:40:13 Sheik is my favorite. I do know that Sheik is dope. Don't paint me as that guy. I'm asking, do you have Sheik better than Mace? But you say yeah already. Yes. I got big, Jada, Styles, Sheik, Black Rob, and I still like D-Dep better, but he's debatable. I got big Jada styles. She black Rob. And I feel like he's better, but he's debatable.
Starting point is 01:40:29 This is my last. This is my last point. I want to make to you. Jada styles and chic. We're not signed as solo artists. They were signed as a group. So, so why are we individualizing them to put Mase further down on the list? The locks is one act.
Starting point is 01:40:46 Yeah, that's, I don't know. They had solo careers. Yeah. So you got to call them one act. We're talking about the best MCs. No, we're talking about the bad boy era. I know, we're talking about the best MCs. From the bad boy era.
Starting point is 01:40:56 You can't talk about the best rappers if they was in a room rapping. If he's saying all the locks is better than Mase, the Mase is one lock. I think you're allowed to separate them. Because they featured sometimes just Kiss was on a record just Styles was on a record you could split it up
Starting point is 01:41:11 I'll let Charlamagne split that one up yo even with even with niggas done started something that's another one they like to point to Mace got busy on that
Starting point is 01:41:18 but his verse wasn't better than Styles' verse on that record it wasn't better than DMX we're not here to debate that Mace is better than Styles. Yo, Charlamagne is really fucking...
Starting point is 01:41:26 We're going to continue this conversation along with some other crazy shit that I've seen you tweeting about. And once again, I'm not dissing Mase. Mase is dope. I'm just saying he wasn't the dopest rapper on that roster lyrically. Bars, not Star Power, not nothing else.
Starting point is 01:41:42 Nigga, how y'all even heard Black Rob in South Carolina? Shut up. not star power not nothing else nigga how y'all even heard Black Rob in South Carolina shut up yo I'm gonna hit you Sean man thank you man yo this nigga is for real I agree with him that Harlem World
Starting point is 01:41:57 is not that good of an album well one I've read the track but it's still a classic now just because it's a dated it's a dated classic now just because it's a age dated it's a dated
Starting point is 01:42:07 not when it came out I don't know I was a CNN it maybe didn't age that well for that era it was a classic album so it's Confessions of a Fire
Starting point is 01:42:19 y'all niggas sound crazy I can't even be a part of that I'm calling these if that's the case if that's the case we can go listen to a lot of that conversation. I'm calling Mase. If that's the case, if that's the case, we can go listen to a lot of records from 97 and listen to them now that sound like shit. So if that's all you're standing on,
Starting point is 01:42:32 listening to them today, I'm like, well, that shit is trash. Nigga, a lot of records are trash today. I still hold Harlem World as a classic. Come on, man. But I'm not running, I don't play it weekly in 2017, but I don't think it was meant to be that at all.
Starting point is 01:42:46 Oh, Mace definitely not picking up. Well, I'm glad Charlamagne finally admitted his bias on that. Well, maybe he admitted it before. I didn't hear it, but I was watching that Cam'ron interview. Like, what is going on here? Damn it, Mace. Maybe he'll call back.
Starting point is 01:43:04 I wanted Mace to answer. I want to know where Mace thinks he is on that list. Mace went Maybe he'll call back. I wanted Mace to answer. I want to know where Mace thinks he is on that list. Well, Mace went on a... That's actually a good question. I want to ask him where he thinks he falls on that list. Honestly. Yeah, when he calls back, I'm asking. On the bad boy list?
Starting point is 01:43:16 He's Mace. He's probably going to say number one. I don't think anybody will put themselves above big. Mace put a new joint out today. Mace got to stop saying he's pretty. That's the only thing. Yeah, you can't be 45 and put themselves above big. Mase put a new joint out today. Mase got to stop saying he's pretty. That's the only thing. Yeah, you can't be 45 and say you're pretty. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:29 I mean, it's not even dope to be pretty anymore today. Like, as a guy. It's dope to be cracked out. Yeah, I don't know. There's a lot of guys in dresses. You just can't say you're pretty anymore. There's a lot of guys in dresses. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:43:41 Yeah, it is some pretty niggas out there. This might be the era. I'm sick of The Rock, too, by the way. I'm unfollowing The Rock. What The Rock did to you? It's all a big act. It's an act. It's an act.
Starting point is 01:43:51 I told y'all niggas this. Nah, I'm with more now. Three weeks ago. Kevin Hart, The Rock, that whole franchise of niggas. I don't believe any of them. They're lying. What'd they do? Everything that they say.
Starting point is 01:44:02 What'd they do? Nothing. They didn't do anything. You see Tyrese's latest one he said he only married his wife to keep her in the country and then said bro
Starting point is 01:44:10 there was only 7 people at our wedding yeah he kinda shamed the small weddings a little bit I was tight where's she from who knows
Starting point is 01:44:21 I think we're fucking experts on Tyrese yes actually I do if anyone were to be in the world it would be us but what else you got on your cool list
Starting point is 01:44:29 nothing I don't think Tyrese was on it this week no Tyrese is not on it cause I'm not I'm with Maul it's all I act but The Rock is not
Starting point is 01:44:36 doing anything he just he's too positive and it's like I see through it now he's happy come on my nigga knock it off
Starting point is 01:44:43 it's all I act I can tell y'all. You really put down the fucking 5,000 pound dumbbells to sign a kid's cast. Really? Yeah. Yeah. While the camera started at the perfect time. It was a red cam in the gym while you was lifting just by chance.
Starting point is 01:45:02 I don't believe it. Well, all right. I'm not rolling. I do think that there are HD cameras in the gym when The Rock works out. Steven Spielberg is in there fucking. The Rock don't knock it off. I'm sick of him. He gonna snuff you.
Starting point is 01:45:15 And if I think he's really tight with Kevin Hart, and I do think he's really tight with Kevin Hart. They did like 15 movies in one year together. So I do think he's really tight with Kevin Hart. And Kevin Hart is, you know what I mean? So what we think? Wait, what is the Yamin part of the Kevin Hart?
Starting point is 01:45:30 I'm trying to say what I'm saying. We know Kevin Hart is not the... Most publicly liked right now? No, he is. That's the funny shit. That's what wealth privilege do. He kind of got that off of the low.
Starting point is 01:45:47 Swang that nigga out. Can we give applause to Kevin Hart and to Jay-Z for getting through both their cheating situations with flying colors? Yeah, I ain't going to lie. They did some Andy Dufresne shit. They crawled through shit and came out free on the other side, man. Shout out to them. And I'll tell you who one-u up both of these niggas man i gotta start putting some respect on fetty wap name out here man so i just learned i just learned that fetty wap has a girl pregnant right slow news day
Starting point is 01:46:18 but i just learned this like yesterday i'm saying So that means that he has a new girl pregnant. How many kisses here? While he has the Alexis girl. Why is Maul here, honestly? What's up, Maul? I'll tell you off camera. God damn it. So that means that there's a woman pregnant
Starting point is 01:46:45 while Alexis is pregnant who was fighting Masika about being pregnant. Yeah. And he's not with none of them. No. It has been very public. Swag this nigga out, man.
Starting point is 01:47:00 When you got chicks fighting over you that you not even with and you done got a whole nother chick pregnant somewhere. Child support payments are going to be When you got chicks fighting over you that you not even with, and you done got a whole nother chick pregnant somewhere. Child support payments are going to be. Oh, yeah, no. No, he's over in a few years. But right this second, because we're ignorant and immature,

No. goals is it goals i don't know no speaking of uh alexis alexis this is not news but this is really funny if you follow all of that la fuckity fuck shit which i do not but sometimes when i want to laugh with my girl it's fun to go right to that la fuckity fuck shit wait whack i'm not talking

With her friends. Like they were planning the leak. But then the plans of the leak leaked. The plans of the leak leaked. The plans of the leak. I'm not sure if y'all really understand how funny this is.
Starting point is 01:48:13 Do you know how stupid you have to be for the plans of your leak to leak? And I think the leak leaked it. Like somebody that she was friends with that was supposed to leak it got mad at her and then leaked the plans of the leak as the leak. That's a double negative. I think that's just a leak. Yo, you are trash. You got to scrap that whole planet. Yeah, we don't want to see that tape no more.
Starting point is 01:48:37 Yeah, you got to just scrap that. Yeah, but God damn it, man. Plan better. Plan better. Did you guys see Love and Hip Hop Or no is it over I finally caught Yeah I finally caught One episode last night

Starting point is 01:51:08 Lauren, Steph, somebody call me, man. But here's the thing. You apologize. You apologize for trying to beat up a girl. You buy her a dog. Then you try to kiss her.
Starting point is 01:51:18 She curves you. You walk away with a vest and some Timbs on and it's 80-something degrees outside. You think you should have took the dog back? Well, in New York, you could wear Timbs when it's 80-something degrees outside. You think you should have took the dog back? Well, in New York, you could wear Timbs when it's 80 degrees out.
Starting point is 01:51:27 You was doing it for years before they came out with the cool joggers. I didn't wear Timbs in the summer. You bodied the switch to the joggers. I never wore Timbs in the summer. I don't know what you're talking about. I never did that. You definitely have worn Timbs in the summer. I definitely wore Timbs in the summer.

Starting point is 01:52:25 Yo, I've never wore Timbs in the summer. Never. Maul, here's my question for you. And I know that I make the joke about, you know,
Starting point is 01:52:33 not really knowing who you are and, you know, not really, you know, really knowing much about your past. I know who you tell me your brother is, right?
Starting point is 01:52:44 But I'm seeing him do interviews in all these places, and I know we haven't spoken to him. I ain't got no Rockefeller Air Force Ones. You ain't got a rock chain. What's up, man? This is on you. That we don't have a rock chain? Or Air Force One Rockefeller version. Or Biggs interview. It's on you. That we don't have a rock chain? Or Air Force One, Rockefeller version.
Starting point is 01:53:06 Or Biggs interview. I mean, it's on you, bro. Well, I mean, you know. What do you want me to do, man? I mean, we're not really a guest-heavy show. Oh, guys, I knew you were going to say that. No, but I didn't know if I can ask him. I can call and ask him.
Starting point is 01:53:21 You know Rory wants to meet Biggs. No, I mean, I can call and ask him. I have met Biggs. You know I want to meet Biggs. Didn't I tell you the story of when I met call and ask him. You know Rory wants to meet Biggs. No, I mean, I can call and ask him. I have met Biggs. Oh, you know I want to meet Biggs. Starting point is 01:53:35 Maul knows it. But still, that's funny. St. Thomas? Yeah. I mean, there wasn't much to it besides him just brushing me off, like, get the fuck away from me in this airport. Like the nothing that you are. What Bigix did when he met you nothing he actually dropped you from the label this thing is white privilege man yo i'm rory and i'm white well he fired you so i see why I see why you want him up here. Rory gave me a little nudge when I leaned on him.

Starting point is 01:54:22 He was off all Sunday then. All Sunday, Rory was at my house offering me a fade. A haircut? I haven't. That's what I thought, but he ain't having Supreme Clippers with him, so it couldn't have been that. They got Supreme Clippers? Why does Supreme have Clippers?
Starting point is 01:54:34 They do? Yeah, and why does Jose have a pair? Jose would definitely have Supreme Clippers. Why? Ain't nothing Supreme about Jose. That shit's nice. I could use a pair. All right, I have a serious question for y'all, honestly. nothing supreme about Jose. That shit's nice. I could use a present. Here's,
Starting point is 01:54:45 all right, all right, I have a serious question for y'all, honestly. What is, can I go through your phone? I'm reading questions
Starting point is 01:54:51 for the show. Can I go through your phone? No, no you can't. Why? Because it's my phone. I want to read your text inbox out loud

Starting point is 01:55:02 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 01:55:02 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 01:55:02 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 01:55:04 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, What the fuck out of this? It's a regular request. Yeah, this nigga's a hater. And more won't let me go see his saved Instagram pics. I don't even know. You know what's funny, though? No, no, I don't. I didn't know that you could do that until you said that. Yeah, well, you know now, right? Yeah, I didn't know that. Because he was in there?
Starting point is 01:55:20 Nah. Can't see nothing in my phone, bro. I didn't know that when a chick deleted this shit, it deleted. Oh, okay. Yeah. It deleted out shit, it deleted. Oh, okay. Yeah. It deleted out your little save folder. That's why. That's why you got to screenshot them.
Starting point is 01:55:31 Can't delete a screenshot in my phone. What if it's a video? Oh, yeah. Then you asked up. You got to get one of those little apps. Yo, do y'all realize that Instagram killed the strip club? And porn, by the way. And porn.
Starting point is 01:55:42 Super killed porn. Yeah. Porn is trash. There's no reason for you to go to strip club when porn and porn super killed porn yeah porn is trash like there's no reason for you to go to strip club when you could i would like to go to the strip club to see what's happening in the strip club nothing i can't go now i got a baby coming with there's nothing happening because no one why do you think instagram because it's like i can watch you can watch women twerk from your phone now you can watch women half naked on your phone yeah but you can't finger them in your phone.
Starting point is 01:56:05 All right, see, now, I don't know what you was doing in your strip club, but no. Yes, you do. Don't let me interview Michael Paul one of these days. That nigga got y'all fooled.
Starting point is 01:56:17 He's a creep, too. And more, you a creep, too, in the strip club. I've never finger banged a girl in the strip club. Oh, I'm definitely interviewing Rosie. Who the fuck is that?
Starting point is 01:56:26 He's fucking snitching season up here. Wait to find out. Rosie? Listen to the podcast. Okay, I'm listening. No, next week. Okay. Tune in.
Starting point is 01:56:36 Oh, here's my question for y'all before we get out of here, because I ain't got no more to talk about. But I've loosely mentioned this a few weeks, and y'all keep brushing it off. So now let me just paint the timeline for you. They got robots that are gyrating their pelvic areas now.
Starting point is 01:56:55 Go on. And they interviewed a robot the other day. Oh, they got hobots. They interviewed a robot? What do you do with a robot? Hey, that was funny. What's a horn? Give that nigga a horn, man.
Starting point is 01:57:12 Come on. Give that nigga a horn. You don't think he deserves a horn? Give that nigga a horn. I hate when y'all get silly when we're trying to end the podcast. Yo, what was I just saying the robot oh yeah so I'm seeing clips
Starting point is 01:57:30 circulating of a robot gyrating their pelvic areas simulating sex that's one I'm not fucking a robot is that the question no two
Starting point is 01:57:42 they interviewed a robot and the robot said verbatim out of its mouth, I am here to destroy humans. And they didn't unplug that shit? What the word? They didn't take the batteries out?
Starting point is 01:58:01 No. And we all just laugh. Ah, little cute robot. Nah, they got to kill that robot. But I remember iRobot. Did y'all see iRobot? And I do believe that art imitates life and vice versa. I do believe that one day after we all dead and gone, iRobot could really happen.
Starting point is 01:58:20 So, all of these clips running around with these smart robots, our phones being smart robots, the facial recognition, and all of these apps that we so cannot live without. My question to you guys is, what are y'all going to do when the robots come for us? Because they're going to come. I thought the zombie apocalypse was going to come first. I was going to say, I was more worried about the zombies. Yeah, no, you're right.
Starting point is 01:58:46 The robots are coming quicker. See, y'all make everything a joke. What are you using as a robot? Magnets? These niggas joking because of white privilege. That robot shit to me is so... Chris Brown just taping. So y'all don't believe that that could ever occur.
Starting point is 01:59:02 Y'all don't believe that we're anywhere close to... It's still a laughable because... Y'all don't believe that we're anywhere close to... Like, it's still a laughable thing to y'all. Only because I feel like with robots that... You think you can take a robot? No, I'm just saying it's like you can...
Starting point is 01:59:13 You can't take a robot. How dope is this robot? I mean, it's... I get the idea, but it's like robots are not gonna take over the world and try to kill humanity.
Starting point is 01:59:22 I don't believe that. That's just... No. Well, why are we making robots? And I don't believe that. That's just... And I won't be here. None of us will be here when that ever happens. If that ever happens. I want to be directly next to him. When they bang on the door?
Starting point is 01:59:35 When they chokeslam this nigga from his Supreme book bag into the Supreme concrete that he's standing on. Getting slammed from a book bag? A nigga grabbing you by your book bag standing on. You're getting slammed from a book bag? A nigga grabbing you by your book bag is crazy. You definitely get slammed.
Starting point is 01:59:49 A nigga's picking at your supreme collar. You've been yoked up by the collar before, nigga. Yeah, that alligator reel? Yeah, that was you. What? Yeah, nigga. Your school days. The alligator, the Biggie verse, nigga. You remember it
Starting point is 02:00:05 I ain't mad that That nigga yoked you up It wasn't me Yo Maul just in his phone Maul's not coming back here next week We really have some Interesting questions Let's get some questions
Starting point is 02:00:18 I was just trying to read Some of them Cause I don't think We have shit left Me got denied Y'all didn't care That this fun line Is gaining momentum
Starting point is 02:00:24 Until it comes back To bite y'all in the ass. The what? This fun line. This not having fun anymore. When it invades y'all household, then y'all are killed. Invades. And I'm going to use it. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 02:00:34 I was trying to get in a proper fucking Christmas party behavior, and you fucking just breezed right by it. I'm sick of y'all. Proper Christmas party behavior. I'm done with y'all. None of us are going To a Christmas party You can't do anything now That's what I was getting
Starting point is 02:00:48 To with that shit With the allegations You can't even Do nothing anymore They didn't even invite you That was just the opening To make jokes Whatever man
Starting point is 02:00:57 You don't know how to act You can't do anything The world is too sensitive now People think everything Is inappropriate Everything is But every time you turn up They they got some wild shit on TV. All I'm going to tell you niggas is y'all be careful with these office holiday parties.
Starting point is 02:01:11 All of that. Well, I ain't going to the office. The punch bowl, the coquito. They don't got coquito at the office. I mean, what office is it? Yeah. You never know. That's true.
Starting point is 02:01:20 At Complex, some white person made the coquito. With just milk. And it's coming and it's coming from some fancy cappuccino machine yeah definitely got a list yeah
Starting point is 02:01:30 that's so fucking true anyway you got what's up with Jeezy I see you have that written down here he has an album coming I just wanted to ask
Starting point is 02:01:37 y'all thoughts on him I don't rush for new Jeezy music at this point though on his albums there always is a few records I like, but I'm not expecting too much. Yeah, I like Jeezy. He has a lot of dope records. I'll probably say he has a classic album.
Starting point is 02:01:57 TM101 has a classic album. He does, for sure. But I don't know. As of late, I'm not anticipating any music from him. I'm just not. When I hear Jeezy has a new song or record coming out, not that I don't like him, but it's just like, it doesn't do the same for me. Like, oh shit, I'm not rushing to hear it. But I mean, I will listen to it though.
Starting point is 02:02:17 I will listen to a Jeezy album because he's made very good albums. But I'm not rushing to hear it. I'm not rushing to hear a Jeezy album. And he's going to be rapping about drug dealing. People just want to take drugs now, man. They don't want to hear about who's selling it to them. They just want to text that guy. They don't want to hear from him.
Starting point is 02:02:34 That changed with the listeners. A lot of the listeners now are addicts. They want to do the drugs. They don't want to hear about the nigga that sold it and got money and is doing all this lavish shit. The audience is different now. If you're not turning up and getting high and twerking, they don't want to hear that shit. That was another point I meant
Starting point is 02:02:51 to ask Charlamagne. Did you see that? I don't know what publication it was that Charlamagne was doing it, but he was defending the younger kids and saying that we're shitting on them about all this drug use music, but the music we love is not the nicest shit in the world. He's talking about selling drugs. And he was saying that was equal.
Starting point is 02:03:07 To me, I think if you wanted to go outside and sell drugs, you'll quickly find out that you're not built for that or you are built for that. Probably within the first few days. I think drug using is much fucking easier to go down on the block and buy some drugs and take them. So I think encouraging kids to take
Starting point is 02:03:23 drugs than to sell drugs, both are wrong. But if we're going to compare them, put them to a degree, a person can't just run out and sell drugs. They just can't do it. Anyone can run out and buy drugs. It don't take but $10 to get addicted to a drug. Selling drugs ain't the same case.
Starting point is 02:03:40 So I don't know what, I mean, I get what Charlamagne was saying, because 90s, they was talking about clapping motherfuckers. It wasn't the best content. We can't just stand here and say we love positive hip hop, and this shit now is negative, but I think it's a much different scale
Starting point is 02:03:54 from the drug use thing, because I think a 13-year-old can go get addicted to lean much easier than it was to sell cocaine. But shit is just different now. You know what I'm saying? The L emoji.
Starting point is 02:04:03 Yeah, like, shit is just different now. Like, even the way saying? Yeah, like shit is just different now. Like even the way dudes party is different now. Like when you go to the club now, it's 200 niggas at a table. Thanks, Parks. It's like 200 niggas at one table, no girls around. Like I'm going back in the day. But that's what it is now.
Starting point is 02:04:20 They tried to kill me earlier because I said I wasn't going. I wouldn't go to the Dipset, ASAP Mob, and A Boogie Spotify headlining concert because there wasn't any girls there. There's probably girls there, though. You don't think there was girls at that show? There wasn't. There wasn't, you said? No. Really? Well, I'm shocked because I know plenty of chicks that love Dipset, ASAP Mob, and A Boogie.
Starting point is 02:04:43 Matter of fact, I think most of A Boogie's listeners are women. Obviously, they were women. It wasn't a bunch of women. But there was women there for sure. There's chicks from the Bronx. I'm not going to no concert where there ain't no women. I hate concerts, by the way. I don't really go to
Starting point is 02:04:59 concerts, period, but I'm not going nowhere where there ain't no women. I'm not doing that. A bunch of niggas ain't about to do nothing but act stupid. Ain't nobody trying to get fly fresh or fucked. Nothing positive happens. Yeah. Nothing positive happens
Starting point is 02:05:10 when it's a bunch of men in a room. If you ain't paying attention to a woman, you paying attention to me. Right. Nigga, when two men
Starting point is 02:05:15 is paying attention to each other, we already know how that go. Right. Right. Yeah, I'm cool with that. But the club,
Starting point is 02:05:19 I mean, to Maul's point, the club ain't the thing anymore. Well, what's the thing? Now that Henny Palooza stopped, what's the thing? Well, I'll say us and grits and biscuits started that wave of having an event as the part like that's the real party i started that but whatever all right bro how'd that work
Starting point is 02:05:36 out not well um so yeah there's a lot of like little events like there's all a bunch of baby copycat henny paloozas that aren't to the scale of ours. Yeah. Tight. Matter of fact. So you give a white nigga the gun. Yeah, gotta let the clip go. Exactly. Exactly why. But you were saying, go ahead.
Starting point is 02:06:01 A lot of people go to events and shit. People will throw things on set. They'll rent out a spot and then invite people in. Where are people going? Honestly, I would like to know to what to party to do anything yeah yeah like to have to have fun i was i had a meeting earlier this week and i was talking to him uh i was talking to this person and i was saying one of the beauties about new york back in the day was that during the week you could go out at any point and find a hot spot those days are no longer like rory said the day parties and during the week you could go out at any point and find a hot spot. Those days are no longer. Like Rory said, the day parties
Starting point is 02:06:27 and the festivals kind of took over some, but when that slows down, like during the week I be wanting to know where people are. People are home. They on their phones. They streaming. Like I hate when people record themselves at a party and you're not there and it look like
Starting point is 02:06:43 it's crazy. That's the worst shit. And then you call somebody that was there, and they're like, man, that shit was trash. But if you just stand somewhere, and you're just shaking your phone, and you're just scanning the room, and music is loud, it looks like it's a great time. There was also less shit to do at home back in the day. Wait, who called Fab's party Instaprom? I'm sorry. What party? What party was this?
Starting point is 02:07:04 His birthday party. Oh, the, uh. I ate with Maul, dude. His birthday party. I didn't know about I didn't know what party he was at. Maul said it. You said Instaprom. I thought it was a different party he did. I thought he threw another party. I know the Gotham, the
Starting point is 02:07:19 Batman themed party. That was the Instaprom. But why you call it Instaprom? Because everybody from Instagram was there in their dress clothes with masks on. Okay. Posing with each other. Yeah. No? You wasn't there.
Starting point is 02:07:35 But you know what's funny though? A party like that, like that's what I'm saying. When it's a lot of popular people in a room, it's like how much fun are they really having because everybody's on their phone. Everybody's taking pictures. Everybody's Instagram. Everybody's instagram well they're there to take the picture well they're not there to party the real fun is in my phone i feel like like what you mean wait wait because you can be all right let's see your saved ig pictures you can oh yeah i'm not i'm not like y'all like i'm a real you ain't real nigga shut up
Starting point is 02:08:06 at any point more you don't remember you don't remember back when Rory wasn't around Moon Music 3 I was the nigga that started that game
Starting point is 02:08:14 of everybody showed their MySpace inbox let me see the sent messages right now y'all was the niggas looking Fugazi in the light
Starting point is 02:08:21 so here we are yet again it's Fugazi to not want to show everyone your MySpace inbox no it's's fugazi to not want to show everyone your myspace no it's fugazi to know that you typing some sucka shit up in there so you can't you can't show it to some real niggas oh no that ain't that ain't that's not the reason why i'm speaking for me that's not the reason why i wouldn't want nobody looking through my phone
Starting point is 02:08:36 like no i ain't doing that but what all right but that's cool but the save picture thing ain't nothing in there but some pictures yeah Yeah, but... It ain't nothing crazy. It's just like... Like porn shit in there? I just got on to it. I told you. I just... You put me on.
Starting point is 02:08:52 I didn't even know that was a thing. Don't do that. Don't do that. I'm serious. Pregnant. No, I'm just saying when you said it,
Starting point is 02:08:56 I didn't know that that was... Somebody told me, nigga. Don't do that. Well, you told me. Don't put it on me. We got sleepers. I'm about sick of both of y'all. Nah, we gotta ask some of these questions, though.
Starting point is 02:09:08 We don't have to. We do. Kind of answered that. Question for Rory. What was it like working with G-Unit? Can you share some stories or no? No, I can't.
Starting point is 02:09:23 It was aggressive and scary. Okay. For all of us, I guess. Do you think that... Wait, when was Rory signed to G-Unit? Signed? Was that signed to G-Unit? No, Rory was definitely signed to G-Unit.
Starting point is 02:09:35 No, he was signed to G-Unit. Okay, here's another question. Has Joe or anyone in Slaughterhouse ever critiqued M music-wise? And was M's response the same as what Just Blaze experienced or no? As what Just Blaze experienced? Wait, say that again? Yeah, I guess Just somewhere might have said when he tried to critique M on his music. And M probably went crazy on him.
Starting point is 02:09:55 Shut the fuck up. Damn, well, I want to hear that story if it happened. That's a funny story. It's Just, yeah, apparently. I don't know. I'm not qualified to answer that. I wouldn't know. Not me, anyway.
Starting point is 02:10:06 Okay. What happened to Joe's green scully? Does he still wear it, or is it gone forever? It's gone, man. It's over. We almost got a Mood Music 5 when he lost that shit. This is exactly why we don't need a question segment. That scully I used to always see you in.
Starting point is 02:10:20 What was it? Is that still around? That's what's pressing right now. Is rap worth it anymore for the rappers that is well i don't rap so yeah joe joe doesn't rap is there more questions are you skipping over those yeah word no i'm just scanning it's not no specific yeah you've rock nation depending on vick mentor to carry the label since amika's lockdown no how do you know because they have rihanna and beyonce
Starting point is 02:10:46 and vic nigga his performance at 444 i don't try to clean it up i'm cleaning it up by saying beyonce and rihanna are bigger than vic mensa yeah nigga that's a diss you just mad you're not rock nation what would a perfect world be for joe to come out of his fake ass retirement besides inspiration a rock chain see because as soon as i get my rock chain you know i gotta do something corny like rap over one of those old rockefeller beats like one nine a hustler or something and shoot an iv ig vid from the gold couch with the stars above my head if you put an egg if if you put an egg on joe's head with a bit of extra virgin olive oil no no this is a great question i think you stop emailing listen if you put an egg no seriously if you put an egg on joe's head with a bit of extra virgin olive oil when he's
Starting point is 02:11:38 shouting will it fry find out dry it i think, though. Barks, you got eggs here? I got split. Beat the shit out of them. Do you think bad meets evil Eminem is better than current Eminem? Yo, I don't want to answer any Eminem. I don't care. I mean, you know. I don't care about that.
Starting point is 02:11:59 I don't care. That always sounds bad when you say I don't care. How did I kill Slaughterhouse, and when is Joe going to keep it all the way A buck on Eminem I'm all definitely kill Slaughterhouse I don't know if I can reveal how and never Why do you keep saying I kill Slaughterhouse That's crazy
Starting point is 02:12:15 I don't even have the power to kill Slaughterhouse That's why that's bullshit what Joe is saying I know what he's talking about but that's bullshit Well what is he talking about And has the group released music since? Yeah, that was pre-Welcome to Our House, I thought. Wasn't that the... No, no. I think the mixtape came out after that, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:33 Mixtape came out after that. Oh, yeah, mixtape came out. On the house? Yeah. Oh, Welcome to Our House? Yeah, you locked down. Yeah, like, yo. See, he's trying to put that... You locked down. Okay, so what happened was, Rory, we were at a video shoot. Mm-hmm. Right, and we were at a video shoot, right? And we were having a discussion. You can tell him this off air.
Starting point is 02:12:49 You ain't tell that other shit on air, whatever the fuck you was laughing at over... Oh, no, no, no, because that's... I can't. I have to tell you that off air. Oh. And I was just talking about, you know, the group and Eminem, whatever.
Starting point is 02:13:02 So it was some people from the label there. You know what I mean? And so Joe was saying that as a result of that conversation... the group and Eminem whatever so but some people from the label there you know I mean and so so Joe was saying that as a result of that conversation you convinced the label heads to stop that like what I said what it what exactly did you say not important that's why that's bullshit with Joe's off there I'm gonna tell you what he said, and you're going to realize how he killed the group. Which video shoot was this?
Starting point is 02:13:27 I don't know. Throw it away? I don't know. The one where y'all was at the frat. It was like a frat house. Yeah, no. That was pre-Welcome to Our House. Oh, that was frat house.
Starting point is 02:13:35 That was your earliest complex. It was a complex frat house thing. See, so I might be responsible for you being that complex, nigga. Oh, then that's still a fate oh you keep saying that like every I feel like there was one more thing that was important and I wanted to ask you two niggas about because I know I won't talk to y'all again until next week oh what do y'all think about that juju that that juju hit? The what? Pittsburgh?
Starting point is 02:14:05 Oh. Let's get the sleepers, man. Oh, sports. Speaking of sports, the bar ball. It's real tough to do a podcast when both of you are glued to your phone.
Starting point is 02:14:13 I was looking at the list to see if we could do it. Yeah, I'm looking for the fucking list. The ball family, him leaving UCLA. Don't care. That's crazy.
Starting point is 02:14:22 That's kind of wild, though. That's not worth just skipping over. They're going to suspend him. Yeah, that's crazy. That's not worth just skipping over. They're going to suspend him. Yeah, but he's... Where's he going? What LeVar is doing, though... Homeschool.
Starting point is 02:14:31 Yeah, but what he's doing is he's setting a bad... To do what? To homeschool for what? College? Yeah, he's going to homeschool. He's ready to start a bad trend, though, I think, with that. What's the trend? Thank you, bro.
Starting point is 02:14:44 Like, pulling your pulling your kid out of school that's a student athlete strictly because he wasn't he's being suspended because of
Starting point is 02:14:53 I mean you gotta he did wasn't trying to steal and shit like that could have that could have gotten bad some Louis Vuitton shit so
Starting point is 02:15:02 you know what I'm saying so let's not act like that just didn't happen even if it wasn't expensive the laws over there is like fuck yeah So, you know what I'm saying? So, let's not act like that just didn't happen. Even if it wasn't expensive, the laws over there is like, fuck. Yeah, like, yeah. You know what I'm saying? You in a foreign country stealing, like, they don't play that shit over there.
Starting point is 02:15:12 Yeah, he's wild. You know what I mean? So, it's like, you know, you come back here to school saying, yeah, you embarrassed the school. Your son embarrassed the school. Like, you can't just pull your son out of school because he's suspended for stealing. And that's a turnover already. You know what I'm saying? It's like,
Starting point is 02:15:27 what type of shit is that? Like you stealing? That was pretty good. Y'all don't feel like doing this podcast so y'all not giving my jokes their proper respect. I wasn't sure
Starting point is 02:15:38 if you were joking about this. And that's a turnover when a nigga stole something before a game was played? That's... That was good. Yeah, I'm off. Whatever.
Starting point is 02:15:47 Go ahead, Moe. I just think that Joe is stupid. No, but I'm just saying you can't... Why are you pulling your son out of school like he was suspended
Starting point is 02:15:55 like with no cause for being suspended? You think he's still going to make the league? Is his plan to just go to the league? Can he even do that? I think he will,
Starting point is 02:16:05 but I mean... I'm just talking about this situation is like you're setting a bad example. Also, well... That third son is fucked. It's over for you, nigga. The second one, I don't know if y'all watched it. Hang up your ball sneakers now, little nigga with your cool haircut. He's not Lonzo. Like, he's not the best ball...
Starting point is 02:16:21 He's probably the worst ball brother at basketball. He needed college. The middle brother? Yeah. Yeah, LeAngelo. He's not going straight to the league. He ain't that fucking good. Yeah, the middle nigga couldn't afford to steal some Louis shit, man.
Starting point is 02:16:32 That was fucked up. But why are you still? But that's why I'm saying LaVar is setting up bad. Because it's basically like saying, yeah, my son stole, so what? He shouldn't be suspended. What do you mean? You know what I mean? It's like, yo, dog, he has to be suspended.
Starting point is 02:16:46 No, I think they was talking about him coming off the bench. Not being suspended. That's also bad. He said they have the best shooter on the team coming off the bench. That kid is not the best shooter. I don't think he's the best shooter on the team. Matters none. I'm sure that wasn't
Starting point is 02:17:02 in their arrangement. I'm sure there was an arrangement for him to send his three kids over there yeah so i'm sure he's he's beefing about the arrangement whoa i know what happened i know my kids stole something trump did some shit i know all that yeah so that changes things we back in the states and we back to basketball no no we're not no see that's the that's the thing joe he can't think like that i'm with you he has to understand what happened was totally out of left field. The school didn't expect it. Like, things change now.
Starting point is 02:17:29 Now you got to shuffle the deck. It's a new plan that has to come into play now. And pulling your son out of school, that shouldn't be part of the plan. I'm sorry. I can't agree with that. Like, he's turning this into, he's trying to make it seem like his son is bigger than the game or bigger than the school. And he's not. Right. Yes, he is, nigga. He's not. He's trying to make it seem like his son is bigger than the game, or bigger than the school, and he's not. Rob Markman, Right.
Starting point is 02:17:47 Yes, he is, nigga. Rob Markman, He's not. Rob Markman, He's not even that nice. Rob Markman, He's definitely not. Rob Markman, Whatever, still. Rob Markman, And that's the thing. It's like you're setting a bad... You're just putting too much bad shit out there on your kids already, because now, no matter what LiAngelo does, he's going to have a target
Starting point is 02:18:01 on him. He's going to feel like, yo, your pops, y'all privileged and they're standing there. You bring too much attention and energy to your kids that they don't need. They're already under a magnifying glass and they're already under a microscope. People are already trying to go at them.
Starting point is 02:18:18 You're just adding to that with all of this dumb shit. No one can because he's not playing basketball. We're watching this 6 o'clock sport. Where's Jemele Hill? Did I miss something? Maybe on vacation. Why might Mike keep throwing it
Starting point is 02:18:31 to all these other black people? They announced it. Jemele's name was in the intro. I know that. So maybe she's just doing some shit. I'm just making sure. Do y'all care about the Giants firing all these niggas or nah?
Starting point is 02:18:44 Do you care about Steph Curry getting hurt or nah? Do you care about Steph Curry getting hurt or nah? Do you care about Kyrie on a rampage or nah? I mean, will Kyrie be on a rampage? It's great that the Giants are doing that. The Giants, though, they had to do something. Yeah, they had to do something. I can't believe they fired the GM, though. Why not? He's been there since
Starting point is 02:18:59 94. Trash. One bad Super Bowls. Is he trash? Yes, he's trash. I don't know that he's trash. How? They won bad Super Bowls. I know. Is he trash? Yes, he's trash. I don't know that he's trash. How? They won two Super Bowls. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 02:19:10 So I hate to be stat man. Since 2010, there are two players on the Giants that Jerry Reese drafted. That's a bad GM. That's true. Reese drafted. That's a bad GM. That's true. For however many years,
Starting point is 02:19:30 he ignored the offensive line. He's the person that picked Eric Flowers with the pick right before Gurley. For many years, you've ignored the running back situation. Like, come on. He's a bad GM.
Starting point is 02:19:45 Those are both commonplace things in the NFL. You cannot miss in the draft that many years and keep your job. The Seahawks have. They have? When did they draft? Their offense line is trash. They have no running backs.
Starting point is 02:19:58 But they also hit in the draft a lot. They hit in the draft a lot. This nigga's hit twice. Landon Collins and Odell. Yeah. Odell's a pretty big hit. That's the end. I like the Ingram kid, Evan Ingram.
Starting point is 02:20:13 I like him. Also a good hit. I like Sterling Shepard. I like him. Also a good hit. Any football mind that doesn't know the game starts and ends on the offensive line. I agree, but there's a lot of teams that ignore the offensive line.
Starting point is 02:20:25 It's over. We're not going to turn this into an NFL podcast. Yeah, we definitely not. I don't even want to boycott that shit. All right, a Jeezy track list is out. One, Spider. Two, Cold Summer featuring Tee Grizzley. Three, In a Major Way featuring Payroll Giovanni.
Starting point is 02:20:41 Four, Floor Seats featuring 2 Chainz. Five, This Is It. Six, Bottles Up featuring Puff Daddy. Seven, Valet, Interlude. Eight, Respect. Nine, Pressure featuring Kodak Black and YG. Ten, Like Them featuring Tory Lanez and Rick Ross. Eleven, The Life featuring Wizkid and Trey Songz.
Starting point is 02:20:59 American Dream featuring J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Thirteen, Snow Season. It's weird. Only the WizKid one was in it. Track 12 says American Dream. It's not typical Jeezy. Featuring J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. So let's start there.
Starting point is 02:21:16 That's interesting. For two people that have said that they were going to do a joint album together, they have not put out music together at all. Kendrick and J. Cole? Yeah. Yeah, that's why I said that's interesting. I'd like to hear how that song sounds because Jeezy is...
Starting point is 02:21:31 I like socially conscious Jeezy. Yeah, me too. And I feel like with those two features on that record, then that's probably what it is. Yeah, American. Other than that, it would probably be who's the best rapper in the world. I don't see J gz making that record right the joint with uh tori lanes and and uh and raw sound like it
Starting point is 02:21:51 could be interesting that sounds like it could be kind of crazy whiz kid is interesting for gz because i mean typically those are the features that are on gz albums am i gonna have to apologize to gz now what did you say about? What happened, man? Quiet storm, nigga. What you mean? He's fighting the quiet storm. That's what I said. He's fighting the quiet storm.
Starting point is 02:22:12 You know what the quiet storm is, right? No. When it's quiet for a nigga. It's a good, bomb, deep storm. What you about to? Come on, more. I see why you say that, but again, this is why you can't say that, though, when shit like this comes out. Because then it's like, but again, this is why you can't say that, though, when shit like this comes out.
Starting point is 02:22:26 Because then it's like, I mean, it sounds interesting. I'm interested in at least four of these records already. I want to hear it. Yeah. This sounds good, and it looks good. It's presented well. I want to hear it. Even if every Jeezy album hasn't been super great, to this day, everyone still is like,
Starting point is 02:22:44 oh, yeah, I'd like to hear from Jeezy. I just don't like that we ignore criticisms. We ignore shit about niggas we like. That's my only beef. We like Jeezy. So nobody ever wants to say that Jeezy's fighting the Quiet Storm. I mean, Maul's been arguing that with Ice for a while, so I don't even know how he sit here and say that. No, not the Quiet Stone.
Starting point is 02:23:05 Me and Ice's beef has always been he felt like Ross versus Jeezy. Yeah, Ross versus Jeezy. He felt like Jeezy was a better rapper and making better music than Ross. I don't know how Ice could think that. And I love Jeezy. Probably not as much as Ice because I wouldn't say that, but I like Jeezy a lot. But he doesn't rap better than Rossoss or make better music than ross no that was always my argument not that it was quiet for jay-z and in regards to that when it came to
Starting point is 02:23:33 them two i was saying ice is as clear as day jay-z can't make music like ross never been quiet for jay-z i wouldn't say quiet i wouldn't say quiet uh he quiet. A couple of joints he put out didn't really stick. But, you know, I'm not going to say it's been quiet for him. Like other artists that come to mind when I think quiet, I can't put Jeezy in that. Yeah, give me some of the other artists then. That is quiet for him? Just give me somebody else that come to mind when you think quiet storm.
Starting point is 02:24:02 That's still trying to be relevant or trying to put out music? Well, now, I don't think Jeezy is trying to be relevant or trying to put out music? Well, now, I don't think Jeezy's trying to be relevant. I don't think Jeezy has ever tried to be relevant. I think Jeezy talks to a certain group of people. Right, right. He has a built-in... I think he'll always be relevant to those people.
Starting point is 02:24:20 Right. I guess when we start talking about relevance, and y'all know that I'm never the one to start talking about relevance. I don't give a fuck about that. But when you talk about it, I guess you we start talking about relevance and y'all know that I'm never the one to start talking about relevance. I don't give a fuck about that. But when you talk about it, I guess you're talking about to the casual fan
Starting point is 02:24:29 and the casual fan would say that it's been quieter for Jeezy. In comparison to who? Or just in general, it's been quiet? To however many people the attention span
Starting point is 02:24:40 of the casual fan can hold. Which in but so many people. You should only compare him to who he kind of came in to the game with that that era because it's been a long jesus been in the game for a while you can't compare his relevance to kodak black because it's just not fair i only compare people like you could do it to ross because they both kind of came in relatively around the same time to see who's lasted. I only compare people to themselves. I'm only going off himself.
Starting point is 02:25:09 I'm anxious to hear this album. I won't lie with this track list. Yeah. And I will say that after my Jeezy critique on Everyday Struggle, quite a few people hit me to tell me all the behind the scenes
Starting point is 02:25:20 things that Jeezy does that I didn't know about. Well, yeah, he definitely took some time off to not only do the Atlantic thing, but he was huge in YG's success. Yeah that I didn't know about. Well, yeah, he definitely took some time off to not only do the Atlantic thing, but he was huge in YG's success. Yeah, I didn't know that. When they were at Def Jam.
Starting point is 02:25:31 So, yeah, I mean, Jeezy definitely has been... The record with him and Puff, I want to hear that. I want to hear that. Bottles up. Because Puff definitely
Starting point is 02:25:37 That was supposed to come out mad long... I felt like Low told me that that was out and I was trying to find it. Oh, so this is an old record. I hope it's not old music oh gz signed where uh atlantic now not def jam or was he with def jam all the def jam niggas that
Starting point is 02:25:53 uh might be how ross was signed to def jam but his label was on atlantic moved to atlantic um yeah but but cte might be on atlantic i think is on Atlantic and I think Jeezy has I was told Jeezy has a job a title at Atlantic he's at A&R yeah and if that's true then I have to take back all of that shit
Starting point is 02:26:14 that I said about Jeezy because he's rather busy then Agency 9 Def Jam recordings okay I don't know I don't know gotta wait to see
Starting point is 02:26:24 what Paul and Noah do over there. See if they can right the ship. Yo, so real quick, and I wanted to tease this earlier when we were talking about how there's nothing to do in New York. I do have something for you to do in New York coming soon, and that is as much as I can divulge at the moment. But if you trust me, like some of you should trust me after all of these years of building trust,
Starting point is 02:26:48 then just come. It's dope. I'll announce it later at some point soon, maybe like a week or something. Yeah. That's all I got, man. All right. You guys got anything else?
Starting point is 02:26:59 Is there a story that's going to break tomorrow? Of course. Probably tonight. Ten of them. Of course there is. Yeah, ten of them. It's fine to break tomorrow? Of course. Probably tonight. Ten of them. Of course there is. Yeah, ten of them. It's fine. Sleepers?
Starting point is 02:27:09 Yeah, sure. I can't wait to crush the game in my Supreme Scullies. Crush the game. Especially when Maul's around. I'm not even going to wear my Supreme Scullies if Maul's not around. For real, because you've got to compliment me. Okay. You've got to say that's hard.
Starting point is 02:27:26 When he's crushing the game. But why, honestly, every week, Supreme, no, you're not trash for that. Not every week. Every week I see you. No, not every week. You can switch up a little bit. That's like when Royce was wearing Gucci every week. It's brand loyalty, man. No, I don't wear it every week.
Starting point is 02:27:42 All right. I'm watching you, man. Okay. Roy, what's up? What barefoot shit we got? We got some real barefoot shit today. We put some barefoot shit out, man. Roy Woods just put out some barefoot shit. You like his album?
Starting point is 02:27:53 I do, and this is coming from someone who's been very critical of Roy Woods. Your niggas always want to qualify it with their harsh opinions. Well, no. I like it, and this is coming from someone who doesn't really rock with. No, because I've shitted on him on this podcast a lot. And I'm waiting for the mentions to fill up like,
Starting point is 02:28:12 oh, now you like Roy Woods? Because I have said negative things in the past about his music. So I'm happy that he put that out in my life. All right. I'm like, all right. I like any song that starts like a Sade song.
Starting point is 02:28:36 Sade will kill us. You were watching me. You not the sleeper. Sade, come on with some breathy shit. I don't have money A little bit Oh, if it's time to make your spouse feel good Then make sure that you got all your plans done right Cause I'm not sure if she was ready And I don't really know what they can tell me About our love so special What do they know about our flavor?
Starting point is 02:29:09 Tell me if it's real so I don't slap myself Cause there's no point in hiding, I feel ignited with your love It's all obvious, I'm sorry that it's pure, yeah I think I need a little bit of lovin', a little bit of somethin' I think I need a little bit of lovin', a little bit of somethin' from you I think I need a little bit of lovin', a little bit of somethin' Cause this love is all I have If you like me now, wait till you get used to me
Starting point is 02:29:45 This is not no sit down, drink it up We could dance all night, girl come and rock with me This ain't the same old love that you can get every week Come take a trip round the world with me I will take a chance to get down with you My past is my past, leave that behind I'll give myself to you I think I need a little bit lovin', a little bit of somethin' I think I need a little bit lovin', a little bit of somethin' for me I think I need a little bit of lovin'
Starting point is 02:30:26 A little bit of somethin' for me Alright, brand new Miguel off that War and Leisure album. That's Rory Woods. Oh, that was Rory Woods doing a song that sounds like Miguel would try to do it on his new War and Leisure album. Rory Woods gonna snuff you. Miguel gonna snuff you. Everyone's gonna snuff you. Miguel's going to snuff you. Everyone's going to snuff you.
Starting point is 02:30:47 Y'all think that they can take me. I can't have my OG getting snuffed out here. They can take me. Asking if somebody can take you is funny. Do y'all think that they can take me? Yeah, play your fucking Griselda, nigga. I forgot we was clowning how
Starting point is 02:31:03 Joe fought on Sunday. We were saying Joe fights like this and says take your best shot. I don't want to fight any nigga that fights like that. They can't see you, Rory. We have... Any nigga that throws his hands up like that, you got it. He plays basketball like that too.
Starting point is 02:31:19 There was a nigga in Bloodsport that fought like that that fucked a nigga up until that Asian nigga came in there with the Asian nigga was ill and threw that dust all in Joe. Yo, you know, Joe really liked that movie. No, no, no. Joe really likes Bloodsport. This is like the third time
Starting point is 02:31:36 you bought a Bloodsport. No, you know why? Because Bloodsport as a kid, that was my movie. You used to watch that before you got in a fight? He was one of those guys. You thought he was Bolo? He thought he was Bolo. He watched Mad, John Claude Van Damme. Why are they filming her?
Starting point is 02:31:51 I was trying to figure that out, too. I hate when they put a sick dog or person on the screen as they film them. Nigga, go help them. Get the camera out of their fucking face. Anyways, John Claude Van Damme threw that shit in that nigga's eye. He was fucked up. That nigga couldn't see for about an hour. And he still wanted to fight somehow blind. If you don't get Jean-Claude Van Digger
Starting point is 02:32:14 the fuck out of here. I know. And now he's having to do flashbacks of when he learned to fight without eyes. That's what Charlamagne was saying about listening to Harlem World now. It's like, yeah, but if you look at a lot of old movies,
Starting point is 02:32:29 you get the same, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great. Yeah, I don't like him saying that because Ready to Die today don't sound the same. Yeah, it's a lot of shit that you don't listen to from back then. You'd be like, the beats. 36 Chambers, different today.
Starting point is 02:32:41 It's a lot of shit. The purple tape, different today. It sounds different. Now, they all age differently. I don't think they age. Ready to Die, I don't. I listened to 36 Chambers and the Jib the other day. That shit was hard.
Starting point is 02:32:50 Ready to Die does not sound bad. Yes, it does. Yeah, no, dude. Yes, it does. Not to me. There's a couple solos for sure. When you put that, the album, the whole album, not certain cuts. When you put on the whole album, it sound like 90s boom bap.
Starting point is 02:33:04 I mean, it is. I know. And that sound didn't carry very well to 2018. I disagree. You're a backpacker. That's true, but there's a lot of boom bap shit that still goes.
Starting point is 02:33:20 Like what? Well, no. It is. That's true. Ready to die? No, that's true. But I guess it just don't sound as dated. Like, Life After Death don't sound dated at all. That's true. Life After Death. There's definitely certain cuts on Ready to Die that age poorly. I agree.
Starting point is 02:33:35 Yeah. Yeah, for real. Come on, Mo. We won't make a conversation, but later I want to know which records y'all think don't sound well off Ready to Die. I have to look at the track list for sure. Okay, we'll get to that after I guess. But no, I don't even want to know which records y'all think don't sound well or if I did I have to look at the track list for sure okay we'll get to that after I guess but no I don't even want to do it on here um just join I'm gonna play a song from uh Chris classic now I didn't really I didn't know that Chris rapped as well as he does like I didn't who Chris classic you know Chris Chris classic Instagram Chris classic I don't know what it is you know Chris but I didn't
Starting point is 02:34:03 know he I didn't know he rapped as well as he does. So this is a join-off of his project. It's called A Father Figure. Is it about to make me sad? Yeah, turn me up. Oh, the nigga start with turn me up. Yeah. Yes, you're getting sad.
Starting point is 02:34:16 He can rap. Chris Classic. I know him. Let me see a picture. Mr. Robert Glasper. 2016s. Check. Mr. Robert Glasper 2016's Check Part of me young and I really does this

That's Chris classic Chris is in charge now right now right right right now. Yeah, I didn't know Chris rap that well either Oh, yeah, I saw that clip when Rocky posted it. And I was like, damn, Chris is going.
Starting point is 02:36:26 That sounds great. So shout out to Chris. I'm gonna play a song That's the point of this segment. that you never heard before. That was an old drop that your 19-year-old ass probably is not aware of. Every time Rory tries to fucking come in with a joke, I forget what I was doing.
Starting point is 02:36:54 Oh. Because you flustered. I am. Flustered is a funny thing to be. I'm flustered a lot. Oh, here. Where is it? I don't want to play the wrong exclusive.
Starting point is 02:37:06 Where is this song Uh oh Did I ever play this song This is not my sleeper But I forgot about this song I may not play this song But I'm not supposed To have this song
Starting point is 02:37:18 Just about I don't think You're supposed to play that record Yeah that record is hard Um Well where the fuck Is this record i'm looking for oh come on man with the bullshit
Starting point is 02:37:30 here we go all right so i'm gonna play a record uh from a gentleman named la you might have heard his music before because i've championed it a lot on this very podcast his album is hard uh and he's great so i'm gonna play this song uh this is called well on his album right this was the blue interlude on his album and boy did i love that interlude i loved it so much and i don't know why r&b niggas like to take the best song they've ever made and then make it a 60 second interlude that's the thing with r&b niggas like to take the best song they've ever made and then make it a 60 second interlude that's a thing with R&B niggas and I want them to stop it and every time they do it I hit them niggas
Starting point is 02:38:12 and I say yo that interlude extend it make it a song right so I said that to LA just joking around one day on Twitter and he replied and said no it's a song already so oh shit Mace is calling back might as well answer here hey Mace real quick cuz I'm doing my podcast I can't talk one I heard

When you hear me, when you hear me,
Starting point is 02:39:30 and I'm supposed to say this respectfully. If you take me out of it, you say, where's Jada Kiss? I'll put Jada Kiss in my top five. But if you take me out of it objectively, how does it make sense? Because I know I'm kind of in two different spaces but everybody everybody has kids in the top five mates you didn't say anything all right all right so so but when when you say and now if all of us are sparring on hot 97 go back to the mixtapes
Starting point is 02:39:59 and say okay when i heard m Kiss, they both got off. When I heard Mason Kiss on the Vacant Lot song, they both got off. My verses are legendary on those. When we went to 24 Hours to Live, we both got off. When you go to... Oh, you're saying if niggas think that Kiss is top five and you get off every time you're with him, then you would have to be. I understand what you're saying. niggas think that Kiss is top five and you get off every time you're with him, then you would have to be. I understand what you're saying. I would have to be.
Starting point is 02:40:27 And when we went to Hot 97 with me, Big, and Kiss, I was the unicorn in the room. I don't know you rap with Kiss today. Call Kiss today. That's what I'm saying. And I love Kiss. Kiss is up there. I got Kiss up there

Starting point is 02:41:49 Yeah. That was deep. Nigga laughed at Black Rob. He laughed at all of them niggas that you named. He had a high note. Craig Mack and Depp. Wait, no. Told the car first.
Starting point is 02:42:04 He fucking hit a high F on that left he said black and then that shit went ham i feel him though he might want to leave kids alone today i tell him tell him that much hey the unicorn today mace leave that nigga kissing with fab somewhere i don't know though we might need to deal You know what I mean Anyway Oh so So LA right So I was playing around With LA
Starting point is 02:42:29 I said yo The interlude from your album Blue It should be extended He hit me back He said it's extended already I gave him my email He sent it to me
Starting point is 02:42:36 He told me that If I felt like Letting you people hear it Because of sample Clearance issues That it wouldn't be a problem Cause there's a feature Artist on here
Starting point is 02:42:45 and man this shit is fire that was your impression of mace no that's my anything that sabrina's on right now is giving me that she's on a little hot run she's on on a streak. She's hot. Yeah. She's heating up. No, I mean she's hot. No, no. She's hot. She's hot. So this is Blue, the interlude, but it's no longer an interlude. This is a song off of L.A.'s project.
Starting point is 02:43:15 Oh, my. Nah, I don't even feel like I'm doing this. I'm doing this wrong. Because the nigga ain't even hit me to tell. He sent it to me and didn't tell me who was on it. He didn't tell me anything. He was just like, you know how a nigga bless you with some fire in your email just knowing it's fire? You don't say shit.
Starting point is 02:43:34 No subject. Live. Yeah, just live. Hit me later, my nigga. It ain't like hit me. Let me know what you think. Yeah, it ain't that. It ain't that at all.
Starting point is 02:43:44 Why don't you see that I'm right for you? me. Let me know what you think. Yeah, it ain't that. It ain't that at all. Brand new from L.A. featuring Sabrina Claudio. Starting point is 02:45:28 There's a whole lot of other music. Well, who started that, Berg? We got to salute Berg, man. Salute to Berg. Berg is in New York now trying to help finish Cardi's shit. Berg? Yeah, that's all I got. All right. Shout out to Burr.
