Starting point is 00:00:00 Why wouldn't you want to be in my 11-11? Cuz, what do you mean 11-11? What the fuck out of here? You that type of guy, you see the clock, you be like, oh my god, make a wish. Yeah. You're one of those, no. You don't make a wish? I'm not.
Starting point is 00:00:11 You don't close your eyes and make a wish on 11-11? No. Yo, why are you too cool for the most simplest things? Joe, I don't close my eyes and make a wish at 11-11. I'm sorry. All right, wait. So you're in the middle of something, you just close your eyes and make a wish. Like-11. All right, all right, wait. So you're in the middle of something. You just close your eyes and make a wish.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Like if you're in the middle of a conversation. First of all, after a certain age in your life, you stop making wishes, number one. What about with the birthday cake? I never make a wish. All right, no, I got you now. I got you now. I got you now. You never been with a chick and 11-11 came and she said, oh, it's 11-11.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Let's make a wish. What you did? Tell me how you cooled your way out of that moment it's 11-11. Let's make a wish. What you did. Tell me how you cooled your way out of that moment. Cool, man. I didn't make a wish. I definitely thought about getting some head at the end of the night. That wasn't a wish. Hopefully she wished upon my dick.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Yeah, I don't know if that falls into the wish category. Thank God. The dealer signed. I wish you would give me some head tonight. I wish you'd give it up. Oh, no, no. I wish you would hurry up with this food So we can get out of this restaurant I wish there wasn't a second date Turn that off
Starting point is 00:01:11 Close your eyes and wish Close your eyes and wish Give me that beat With the full time jack move Don't let me skate Just have no fun What's up my nigga I would dare him you again. Do you know how many times I've cleared this for whole? I would dare him. I would dare him.
Starting point is 00:01:50 God damn it. My only beef with this is the Sean Bradley part. But we won't talk about it. All right, no, slow down. Slow down. Don't start flipping yet. Don't start flipping yet.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Well, you said you was maybe Kobe. Nah, you got to cut a nigga off before you really get in this lyrical bag. No, Joe Biden. No. No. Maybe you Kobe. Mom, I heard what he said. I'll take a Kobe maybe.
Starting point is 00:02:20 I would too. That's not a maybe. I'm not mad at you. I don't know why you make a joke. Because if I'm maybe Kobe, that means I'm falling right after Kobe. Like for sure. If I'm maybe Kobe, it's like,
Starting point is 00:02:28 you ain't Kobe, but you J.R. Ryder. And then he said Tracy McGrady. Yeah. But then once he started thinking about it, he ended it. Wait, never mind. Everything.
Starting point is 00:02:37 You just show him, Brad. He kept dropping down. Guys. Wait, let me think this over. Everything after matter of fact. Matter of fact always changes the dynamic. When a nigga hit you with a matter fact, some bullshit is coming. He had more thinking.
Starting point is 00:02:50 He thought about it a little deeper. Yeah, and he wasn't in his positive thoughts either. Yeah. After a matter fact. All right, everybody relax and simmer down. Let's get some order in this place. Microphone check. One, two, what is this?
Starting point is 00:03:05 Episode 176 of the Joe Budden Podcast, along with some of my nearest and dearest... I think it's five. Really? Whatever. Yeah, whatever. Don't even ask. You're in the future already.

Alongside some of my nearest and dearest friends, that would be Maul, Parks, Rory, Erickson, Savon, and Ian is in the building. Let me make some noise for Ian, man.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Ian is here. That means we got business to discuss. We have to watch our mouths. Yeah, we're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about it. I can't believe Maul thinks he's too cool for 11-11. I can tell all the pussy you missed out on. Can you name one wish from 11-11 that worked for you?
Starting point is 00:04:03 What's your percentage rate? What's your shooting percentage with 11-11, with for you? Like, what's your percentage rate? What's your shooting percentage with 11-11? With wishes? Pretty high. Yeah, I wish low. Pretty high. Wish low, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:11 High expectations. Wish I make it to the next day. Shoot low. Oh, that's symbolic in different facets of your life. Yeah. No, the universe responds to my 11-11.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Okay. You're still healthy. That was one of your 11-11s? Mall is free. That was a trash one. That was like a Wednesday 11-11. That was a PM. Didn't want to waste a Saturday on that.
Starting point is 00:04:37 No, that was like late in the shot clock 11-11. Keep more free. It might have been 11-12 when you said that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because more might have went away a little bit after that. Do you hit the AM and the PM 11-11? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. If I'm up.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Well, sometimes I'm just getting up at the 1-10 mark. I'm like, hey, just in time. So you get mad when it's like 11-12 and you just look at the clock and you're like, fuck, I missed it. No. I'm asking a question. You're being an extremist. That's what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Never mind. So, yeah, I want to shout out to everybody listening at work. I'm asking a question You're being an extremist Alright Nevermind So yeah I want to shout out to Everybody listening at work I want to shout out to All of our YouTube viewership There's going to be a lot of gunshots this week Hey where's the gun

Starting point is 00:05:46 Well, I told you I was thirsty to just hang out in New York. I haven't hung out in New York all summer. I've done nothing because the weather's been shitty. We were away.
Starting point is 00:05:53 The weather was shitty that night. Yeah, but it was still like it wasn't supposed to be. Small way laid out. Yeah, I waited until the rain stopped and then I came out.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I was in the poncho. When I pulled up, y'all was in ponchos. That's probably what made me want to come out. I was like, oh, it's raining? Yeah, you're the exact opposite.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I'm definitely going to sit Indian style in the rain. And I don't have to have the aux? Right. It's going to be one of them? Yeah, I'll take it. That was a lot of fun, Roy. Thank you. Thanks a lot, Roy.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Ian was out there. Thank Cam for me. It's good to see everyone. Ian was there with his lovely lady, as was Parks. Parks was in his white boy bag in the corner. You guys want to address it now? OD in his white boy bag. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:06:27 You guys want to address it now? You want to save it a little bit? Parks was getting his two-step on. Parks Valley with the dance moves. It was a 2.5 step. 2.5? You know, white boys never could get there. It was on the one and the three.
Starting point is 00:06:38 They don't know how to stop on the two and then go to the other. Especially not with that much to say in the system. They brought that to me like it was some news. And I was like, nah, that's Parks' bag. I never seen Parks. They clearly never been to other places. Especially not with that what you're saying in the system. Yeah. They brought that to me like it was some news and I was like, nah, that's Parks' bag. They clearly never been to Melody.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Nah, I never seen Parks in that bag. Nah, I didn't either. Oh, fam, I've been in Melody with Parks on a Saturday night when his jam, when Band From TV came on.
Starting point is 00:06:59 First of all, why you dancing? Band From TV never wild too much. No, but that's the one that get him in his tongue kiss bag. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:07 When them horns come in, he grabs the nearest. And that beat don't change at all. It's the same four count. You can't mess that one up. Tongue kissing
Starting point is 00:07:17 the band from TV is insane. That nigga tongue kissing the nature of it. But I don't be mad because nature verse is hard. It's like,
Starting point is 00:07:24 go ahead, feel it. to a nature verse. Nah, when you feeling that, don't go on. If you had be mad because nature verse is hard it's like go ahead feel it nah when you feeling now go on if you had to pick a nature verse if you're in Queens come on telling you to tell regardless of rain or snow what I'm kissing you sleep or hell
Starting point is 00:07:39 nah fam because what you doing to choking niggas like you nah nah alright bye Nah fam Cause what you do On the choking niggas Like he in his I mean Nah Nah Alright Alright That's crazy
Starting point is 00:07:50 Yo let me just tell Everybody out there I'm in a silly mood I'm in a silly mood And I was real happy To come in And see my guys In a good mood too
Starting point is 00:07:58 This is a really Joyous occasion for me I'll tell you guys All about it later As much as I'm allowed to That's why he is sitting here. Let's see him over there. He's the lawyer? Yeah, he put on his
Starting point is 00:08:09 We Closed the Deal shirt. Deal? The Nordica. He grabbed the naughty? The naughty. The naughty. The naughty. Shut the fuck up, man. He grabbed the naughty. Nobody He grabbed the Naughty.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Nobody ever grabs the Naughty. Nah. That's what, nah, when Grand Pooma was rocking, they was trying to get fresh. You know that's Ian Fresh side of the closet. Naughtica? Yeah, he definitely put the Naughty in the cleaners. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:08:37 They bring that back like they bring a champion back. That is a Naughtica sign, right? It's not. Actually, it's Belief. That's a compass, Joe. It's a nice little local Astoria. Naughtica was compasses, right? It was compasses., it's Belief. That's a compass, Joe. It's a nice little local Astoria. Nautica was compasses, right? It was compasses.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Am I off? Yeah, because... Come on, Rory. See, I hate when Rory try to make me seem uncool, and it's really him that's uncool. Don't do that again. I still wear Nautica. You don't. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:08:57 All right, so come on. Get your shameless plug off. We all had a great time at your bar. Oh, I wasn't even going to take that. I was just happy that y'all came out. We all had a good time. I was chilling for the first time at those. Time out.
Starting point is 00:09:06 So this is the first week in 175 weeks that you just feel like, you know what, I ain't going to hit them with the plug. Everything is cool. Everything is rocking. Even though you guys have been selling out for quite some time, I say that's a tall tale sign of a nigga who just put his two weeks in at the job. A round of applause. Well, not to do save the loser.
Starting point is 00:09:25 No, we celebrating a lot. Not to do save the loser. We have a lot to celebrate this week, ladies and gentlemen. Rory. Irish fucking McNasty. True. He's out. He left.
Starting point is 00:09:40 He's out the game. And if I know my guy, if I know my guy got it here to exit, come on. Tell me you broke something. Tell me you slammed something to the ground. Not at all. You just gave. You just had to talk and I was like, listen, man. Great people over there. Great people over there.
Starting point is 00:09:57 I'm excited for the new chapter. The new chapter of all of our lives. Happy I get to share it with my friends. New chapter. One door closes, another opens. Oh, you got your PR shit. Wow.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Your PR game is in order. You can tell he's hit a few of those exit meetings. Yeah. Whenever niggas start saying new chapters and all that. You can tell they walked him to that other floor.
Starting point is 00:10:20 When one door closes. They talked to him for a little bit. Sir, your stuff is packed up already. Namor, Namor, what's up with you? What's up, man? What's poppin'?
Starting point is 00:10:28 Uh, nah. You gonna leave the block alone? Nah, he's too prepared now, so I gotta fall back a little bit. When a nigga enter too prepared... You said, what's up? I said, what's up? Why you tuck your chains around me? I'm like, come on.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I wouldn't do that. I always tuck my chains around you. You came in. They was out. Yeah, but then I saw you had to tuck them, because you... Jersey City, I don't trust y'all. That's true. Maul was very comfortable with his chains out in Brooklyn when we was all together. I came in, they was out. Yeah, but then I saw you and I had to tuck them because you're Jersey City. I don't trust y'all. That's true. Maul was very comfortable with his chains out in Brooklyn when we was all together.
Starting point is 00:10:48 I was nervous standing next to him. You had your chains out, my nigga, in Brooklyn. You anything that was a while? A little bit? Like in that borough? I don't know. It's a nice part of Brooklyn. They had palm trees.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Yeah, but they still be around. You felt safe? Yeah, I'm always feeling safe. I'm never somewhere where I don't feel safe. See, when you reach a certain age, you don't go somewhere where you don't feel safe at. That's true. I also want to point out that Marl is from the generation
Starting point is 00:11:09 where safe is a trigger word. And subjective. Yeah, if you tell a nigga he's safe, he's angry at you. I'm always safe. Yeah, like it's cool. I'm always good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:21 No, but we was in a... Brooklyn is cool, man. Certain parts, I know where not to go. I was the fuck... I'm the only paranoid lun. No, but we was in a, Brooklyn was cool, man. Certain parts, I know where not to go. I was the fuck, I'm the only paranoid lunatic that thought when somebody said, be safe,
Starting point is 00:11:30 that I had to spend the rest of the day trying not to kill myself. I'm like, oh shit, what do you know? What do you know? We were having such a good day. How's he in my psyche?
Starting point is 00:11:39 What do you know? What do you know? All right, all right, cool, cool, cool. So Maul was safe. Maul was good. Maul was everything. That was fun.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Yeah, we had a good time, man. That was fun. We won't get into Savon. Yeah, man. Pray for Savon and your 11-11s. He broke his pinky. Yeah, that nigga. He broke his pinky and his ring finger.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah, he over there bandaged all the way up. Jesus, man. And still made it into work. And that's why you're one of the. Jesus, man. And still made it into work. And that's why you're one of the special ones, man. Round of applause for Savon. A lot of round of applause to give out tonight. All right. Now.
Starting point is 00:12:13 That's a sick applause. Four niggas clapping. Yeah, nah, but they clap for this thing. Four niggas. They clap for him. Everyone clap. Yo, now if I get a little mushy and a little sentimental, guys. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Such an emo. I hate. Guy groups of friends are weird, man. Yeah, you're fucking right. We supposed to sit here and cry with you? No, I'm going to laugh at you if you start crying. That's what friends are for. We supposed guys are supposed to laugh if they friends, unless it's something like tragic.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I guess me and Ian keep waiting for you guys to be happy. No, I'm happy. Or mushy. No, I'm happy. I'm excited. No, I'm excited. I'm happy. You know me, Joe.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I'm not the mushy guy, but I'm happy. I'm excited. Except for when she already brought that tall little model thing through. I wasn't mushy then either, Joe. No, no. That nigga was mad vulnerable then. You were trying to. Wait, what? I was vulnerable.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Oh, yeah. It was hard to hear. He delved right into mad untapped emotions. Yo, Joe, let me tell you. Joe loved bringing up old shit from years ago. Yeah, that's what I'm here to do. And just try to make me uncomfortable. Joe, I'm comfortable in my own skin, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Fine. Wait, so what? Then let's move on. It's not going to be fun if you're comfortable. I'm comfortable, man. It's not fun if you're comfortable. Forget it comfortable in my own skin, bro. Fine. Wait, so what? Then let's move on then because it's not going to be fun if you're comfortable. I'm comfortable, man. It's not fun if you're comfortable. Forget it.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Or safe. Yeah, word. All right, so now, come on, let's get to the shits, man. I assume everyone here saw the VMAs. I'm starting with the VMAs.
Starting point is 00:13:34 We'll get into announcement time later. I have a confession. I'm sure all you guys are confused. I have a confession. I know you're not going to believe me,
Starting point is 00:13:39 but I swear I walked in the house and I caught the VMAs right after Nicki performed. So I can't, that's where I caught the VMAs right after Nicki performed. So I can't. That's where I started watching it. I swear it was literally right after she performed. I was mad because I wanted to see it.
Starting point is 00:13:51 And then you hit rewind. And then you hit rewind on your remote. No, I didn't rewind it. So then you were just like, no, I'm off that. Yeah, I just watched it. I'm not really. We'll get into the VMAs, and then I tell y'all about my stance on these award shows. Well, we have a lot
Starting point is 00:14:06 to cover this week, so... Sort of. We do and we don't. Yeah. I feel like I wrote Nicki's name 90 times on there. That's why, whenever someone mentions
Starting point is 00:14:17 it's going to be the craziest four or five hour episode, I'm like, eh, we can cover this in two. Yeah, I think we can too. Yeah, I don't think it's as crazy as you guys are making it seem. It got to three and three and a half when I thought I was going to come in here and be mushy with you guys. But since y'all don't give a fuck, y'all are just like them.
Starting point is 00:14:34 And then they get to the day I want to be mushy. They're like, yeah, nigga. Yeah, motherfucker. All right, so the VMAs, you guys go first because I got a long, long rant. Let Rory go first and then I'll go. Just in general, I'm sick of it now being the moon person.
Starting point is 00:14:51 I want to start there. You want a different award. This outrage, the deal is done. This is, it can't be a moon man now. They're giving out moon persons. You don't know how
Starting point is 00:14:59 we identify as Rory. Listen, I've been on the side of the progressive shit. This is too fucking far. Why is it a moon person? Damn, I want to on the side of the progressive shit. This is too fucking far. Why is it a moon person? That's interesting. That is interesting.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I didn't think about it like that. When Terrence came out and said, I'm giving out the first moon person, I was like, this is like a new intro. That's just like some play on words bullshit. Like when IHOP tried to sneak in a burger and then said, psych your mind. Psych your mind.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Yeah, that was the worst psych. I didn't get the moon person. I didn't get where they changed. It was like an illiterate night. The awards were like, and this is the hip hop award. This is the best hip hop. This is the best hip hop. Like now you got to finish the sentence, dude.
Starting point is 00:15:42 All right. Song, video, album. This is just the best hip hop. Now you got to finish the sentence, dude. All right. Song, video, album. This is just the best hip hop? Dancer or something. Let me just say that it's complete bullshit that the Carters didn't win for, was it? Best video. Best video? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:55 That's bullshit. I thought Childish Gambino should have won. Was he nominated in that? He was. He should have won that. Yeah. Easy. But you know how these award shows go.
Starting point is 00:16:02 They highlight the artists that they're going to push. Come on. We're past that, guys. We know who they're pushing. Oh, no, no, no. Of course.. They highlight the artists that they're going to push. Like, come on, we're past that, guys. Yeah, we know who they're pushing. Oh, no, no, no. Of course, of course. Let's not feed into what they want us to do. No, but that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Discuss who would win and who should get the fuck out of here. Right, but that's why I don't really watch these shows because I already know that it's an agenda behind it. And, you know, of course. Their shit was super obvious. Like, they were clearly only giving it to you if you came through. Yeah, and then it's like, come on. We all know that the card has deserved that award like that was like some monumental groundbreaking shit that they did with that video see that and that's where i get in and i'm extra
Starting point is 00:16:34 so let me preface anything i'm about to say with that that's where i always go a little loony because it's like in some instances like you got to be a little better with your smoke and mirrors yeah you got to make it like you got to at least tell me it's raining while you're pissing on me sometimes because then and make sure it's dark so i can't see you right if you don't do that i gotta assume you just think i'm the dumbest guy in the universe right oh i hate to tell you majority of people are pretty dumb so let's get to what let's get to what I noticed about the VMAs, and you're absolutely right about that, Rory. Common sense is indeed uncommon. The VMAs, I don't even start with this year's VMAs when I address the VMAs.
Starting point is 00:17:17 And actually, for the rest of this little period here, I'm not even calling them the VMAs. I'm calling them the Cultural Appropriation Awards. Wow. Oh, so he was fine with the moon person. Yeah. Okay. Actually, that's why I was sitting here and discussed a little bit when you was making the joke, even though you wasn't making the joke, you were serious, because damn, I would
Starting point is 00:17:38 love- I don't really care. I know. I know, Corey. I know, but I'm saying I would love to be able to make that joke, like be a white dude and just watch that and say, and come away with that. As a black dude, and man, I'm not this person.
Starting point is 00:17:54 But when they smack you with it, they smacked me with it. Like, I'm not this, my dad is this person. My dad is exactly this person that I'm about to be. D-Ray is this person. Well, yeah. I mean, when you watch the Logic and Oldboy's performance, you're definitely- No, don't fast forward.
Starting point is 00:18:13 We got a timeline. That's how angry I was. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. I was going to say, that was like the first performance. I didn't see that, but I saw that. That was the moment that everybody was here. I was angry way before any of that. And I know people out there listening are saying, Joe, you're always angry.
Starting point is 00:18:28 No, listen. This time, at least hear my rationale behind it. I go back to the last few years. And if you recall, the reports on the ratings from the last few years of the VMAs, they have been poorest, to say the least. I think I'll even go as far as to say last year might have been the lowest rated one ever. Now, the last two, I want to say, and I could stretch it to three, but let's say two. The last two, there was a clear, heavy focus on the social media stars and the social media celebrities.
Starting point is 00:19:08 All of them were there. And I know that dates at least two years back because two years back was Joanne and the Scammer and they were doing all of that. And then Joanne and the Scammer's mom got sick. She couldn't do anything last year. So I know it's at least two years I'm talking about. Right. So there was a heavy focus on the social media people. Boom.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And the ratings were bad. So as a producer, I'm trying to think of how they're going to fix that. right so there was a heavy focus on the social media people boom and the ratings were bad so as a producer i'm trying to think of how they're gonna fix that so here comes they start pumping me up from the fucking gate cardi is introing cardi is introing cardi is introing cardi is introing i saw it so much i was i was annoyed She saw it so much. She got annoyed. And she sent out a tweet that said, fam, I'm not performing. I know they pumping this up. But I am not performing.
Starting point is 00:19:53 I am opening. Right? So I follow Cardi. A lot of people follow Cardi. So I saw that. So the awards come on. Come on. Cardi comes out there with a little fucking towel.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Pretending for the reveal. Oh, baby. Baby. Baby. Oh, shit. It's happening from scratch, from the start. We know that fucking baby ain't under there. You just out there with a damn towel to say welcome to the VMAs.
Starting point is 00:20:25 No, the moon person wasMAs. And then, and then the moon person. And then that man, I don't give a fuck what was under there. And then she moseyed right along. She was breastfeeding the moon person. Yeah. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Come on, baby. Why did you let them convince you in the breastfeeding? But, but, and then she moseyed right along. Let me say something. Cardi,
Starting point is 00:20:41 you look beautiful. Cardi look beautiful. She did. And then she left. Right. And I she left, right? And I'm like, damn. That's what y'all got from our queen? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Y'all pumped that up for as much as you can. And that's what y'all got from our queen. And she left. That's fine. She couldn't perform because you already told us why. Enter Shawn Mendes. Guess what? I have no idea who Shawn Mendes is. Same. I have no clue. I have no idea who Shawn Mendes is same
Starting point is 00:21:05 I have no clue I have no idea who Shawn Mendes is there's always a pop star every VMAs that sweeps and I'm like wait who the fuck is that
Starting point is 00:21:11 I don't know and I don't think Sin really knew either when I looked at her and she started oh yeah no Shawn Mendes is really huge
Starting point is 00:21:17 so I just so I just took her word for it she just be lying look how fast promo can run though. Like, oh no, he's huge. Now you engaged. Like, oh yeah, yeah, fuck with him.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Yo, so once she said that, you know, I'm just taking it face value and I say, okay, so that's why they insert him here in the open. So, cool. Insert the huge white boy paws in the open. Great, that's fine. He goes off.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Enter Tiffany Haddish and Kevinvin hart i know i am chaperone i am i am now cringing before anything i'm like oh my god three in a row three in a row cultural appropriation awards what the fuck is going on so they send ke Kevin Hart out there. And when he comes out there, he immediately highlights what I think a lot of people's issue is with Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart gets into how him and Tiffany Haddish coming out to do the motherfucking cultural appropriation awards is like LeBron playing with LeBron. So it's like sports. But in this sports arena, it's okay to kneel. Don't worry, y'all. Donald Trump and them ain't coming out.
Starting point is 00:22:29 They ain't gonna do shit. Fuck you, cocksucker. Donald Trump. And he steps back from the mic. That was it. That was his Chappelle slam. Okay. Now I'm almost tearing in my master suite.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Because Kevin Hart, and again, I'm not tearing in my master suite because Kevin, because Kevin Hart, and again, I'm not this person, but y'all are slapping me with it. Kevin Hart has been one of the most successful black actors for quite some time. He's never made mention of any of the Trump, anything he has never. I think he's,
Starting point is 00:23:03 he said the otherwise that I'm staying out of he has never to keep my audience uttered a word so let me just say my beef my beef is not in people that choose to be silent i'm cool with that i'm not i am but i'm not i am it's it's a free it's a freak it's not a free country but it's you know i mean you you reserve the right to do that i only get mad when you abandon that because now i gotta examine why you abandon it so you won't speak up for the cause but you'll speak up to for the cultural appropriation award this is for a fucking cheap joke chappelle would never but that's why i have a problem with it and kevin's my nigga spanking my nigga but i'm just telling you how i felt that that is how i felt sitting problem with it. And Kevin's my nigga. Spank is my nigga. But I'm just telling you how I felt.
Starting point is 00:23:45 That is how I felt sitting there. And Maul's voice popped into my head with that whole shit that we talked about, the difference between Kevin Hart and Chappelle. You couldn't pay Chappelle. You could not pay Chappelle to fucking do it. You couldn't do it. Impossible. Tiffany Haddish is up there.
Starting point is 00:24:02 All that shit was awkward and cringeworthy Yeah that's bad Exit them Right Nicki Minaj is there And after that That was it for the black people No they showed
Starting point is 00:24:15 They showed Ja Rule about seven times No no no Slow down Slow down Slow down Slow down That's not an MTV call That's a J-Lo call
Starting point is 00:24:22 I know I know And that was later on That was later on. That was Ja. Go ahead up here. I was just happy to see Ja. Me too. Him and his Vanson.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Go ahead, Ja. Go ahead. I seen it. Then they strutted out all of these white people. And I'm fine with that. I'm okay with that. But the manner in which these white people came out. Somebody has to snuff logic.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Rory? Yo, Rory is pussy. Over the years, I have handed a thorough blacklist to Rory of people he needs to snuff. He hasn't snuffed any of them yet, man. Come on, Rory. I'd like to see the list. No, no, we can't do it now because now we important. No, you can't do it now.
Starting point is 00:25:04 You got to pop on logic. I got to pop on logic. Yeah, come on, Rory. You'd like to see the list. No, no, we can't do it now because now we important. No, you can't do it now. You got to pop on Logic. I got to pop on Logic. Yeah, come on, Rory. You letting this nigga do craziness. I will say that performance looked like the boardroom for the white people that say social justice is all the rave.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Yeah. And then that pops out. Yuck. Yeah, let me tell you. That's what that looked like to me. And that's how I know I'm not crazy because when that came on, right, I don't know that Logic song.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Me either. But so when the room went dark, but we never do. And then it goes number one after those performances. Oh, I know, I know, I know, I don't know any logic song actually,
Starting point is 00:25:33 but he, that's how he gets his shit to number one. Those award shows with a bunch of kids, let's hold hands and hug. It just doesn't come off genuine. Even if it is genuine to him, whoever is putting it together, it comes off very cheap and like a gimmick. All right, so the song, The Room Goes Dark, the song comes on.
Starting point is 00:25:54 They pan some little spotlight to a middle-aged white dude on a piano who starts playing. I'm a sucker for pianos, so now I'm glued. I'm glued. So now the middle-aged white guy starts to, I start dying in my head. I'm having a blast laughing because anytime those middle-aged white dudes want to show you that their soul in their voice.
Starting point is 00:26:17 They get pitchy? Oh, man. I've made all of those noises before. And I wasn't in what situations very vulnerable moments yeah yeah very vulnerable moments that's how they sound so when he was playing the keys
Starting point is 00:26:34 he was hitting the he was hitting the high rusty notes and I was like oh your white people swear they got sold so then I'm like so then wait then Logic comes strutting out and i said oh no logic looked for the white guy to try to have the fake soul fuck and then when i thought i couldn't be any more right logic struts out a choir but that didn't even what took me back. There was no black people in a choir. Logic, you piece of fucking shit. You strolled out the all white choir with two Dyckman kids sprinkled in there.
Starting point is 00:27:14 They let Logic do that. Man, fuck Logic, man. Rory, you are pussy. I got enough Logic. Nah, you pussy, Rory. Am I wrong in that? Come on, Mo. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Come on. I'm going to follow up, though, but you got to pop first. I got enough logic. Nah, you pussy, Rory. Am I wrong in that? Come on, Maul. That's crazy. Come on. I'm going to follow up, though, but you got to pop first. I got to follow up. And just in case it starts turning and winning. Yeah, I got you. Nah, and Rory pussy if Maul got to follow up. You're supposed to be able to just take care of it quickly, too, and abandon the scene. No, I'm serious.
Starting point is 00:27:41 All right, well, let me stop joking. That's how I felt watching Logic. Then he brought out Some parents All the kids started Hugging And then when I got Finally got past
Starting point is 00:27:50 All of that Cringeworthy bullshit I started listening To the words The white guys Back there singing We must love each other We gotta love each other
Starting point is 00:28:04 I said you bitch Yo We do have to love each other though We do He's right in that In that he's right But go ahead No we don't
Starting point is 00:28:17 We do Did you peep the fuck the wall shirt That Logic was wearing as well Yeah You peeped all that And didn't snuff a minute I was on my couch Wait what shirt did he have on
Starting point is 00:28:28 Fuck the wall Who's the wall The wall The Trump wall Oh my god Yo my issue with these artists I will not call them plants I just
Starting point is 00:28:41 I'll have an issue with any artist Who makes their art look like it's science. I'm on the art side of that. Logic, I could just tell when you sat in a room and just put a bunch of buzzworthy bullshit together so you can trend. That was my beef with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. They rolled them all out.
Starting point is 00:29:06 MTV was going to make sure. I'm reading the book. They rolled out Trump, LeBron. Anything that was a high search, God damn it, it was in there. And it wasn't even jokes. It was just, let's put this word here. Jokes were not good. It wasn't a joke.
Starting point is 00:29:19 It was just a sentence. Let me tell you how we know it was awkward. When they came out, those two big superstar comedians, well, Kevin even had to address the fact why two of them was coming out there. Because me and Sin was home saying that. Why are both of them coming out? That's weird. And Sin caught it off the opening credits when Shorty was going mad fast.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Featuring, featuring, featuring, featuring, featuring. Wait, do they have a movie coming out together? Yeah, they do. Oh, then that's why they came out together it's promo for the movie well that's how they gonna spin well they plugged it at the end of course they do the open no the open it's not that they came out together is that they came out together in the open someone in some creative room thought Thought that was a home run after Shawn Menendez and fucking Pembardi. Why you on Shawn's neck like that, man?
Starting point is 00:30:08 Shawn Menendez. Did he murder his parents? Yo, the MTV. Yeah, that was a good one, bro. Thanks. Damn, we in a lot of trouble. Yo, the VMAs always show me somebody who I have not seen all year since the last VMA. Not only do they show you them, they win everything.
Starting point is 00:30:25 They highlight them. Oh wait, so now this is when I really got mad. Since I'm just getting all my anger out. Outside of Cardi, everybody else it looked like was like a universal act. The winners and the performers.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Yeah, they're definitely trying to bridge that gap. So then I connected that to Universal owning the market. And then I really got sad. To an extent. And then today, Nicki goes on her rant. And then I really got sad. We're going to talk about all this shit. We're going to talk about all this shit.
Starting point is 00:30:59 But that's how I felt about that. All right, logic goes away, right? I go and smoke 30 cigarettes. Because you're stressed. I understand. By the time I walk back, let me say Ariana Grande killed that shit. Boy, she killed it. And Nicki killed her performance.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Nicki killed it. She killed her performance. It was dope. I agree. It was dope. She killed that shit. No, no, no. Nicki's performance was very regular.
Starting point is 00:31:18 She killed that shit. Ariana Grande killed that shit. From what I saw, Ariana had the best performance. Easily. Well, including Zalo? Yeah. Yeah. No, she has a great voice. Because I'm thinking voice and- Grande killed that shit From when I saw Ariana Had the best performance Easily Well Including J-Lo Yeah Yeah Nah Ariana
Starting point is 00:31:27 She has a great voice Because I'm thinking Voice and everything She has a great voice She was singing live J-Lo came up then We love J-Lo But I was
Starting point is 00:31:35 Thinking I'm mad Okay She's been up there A long time She's 50 years old She looks like She's like Come on
Starting point is 00:31:42 We got it Right She was doing a lot of She did well. Don't put words in my mouth. No, no, I'm just saying. I'm just putting that out there. Y'all know how I feel about J-Lo.
Starting point is 00:31:49 So hi, J-Lo. She did do well. She also appeared to be preserving her energy. Oh, yeah. As she should have versus some of the other people we've seen do those long performances like Justin who just ran through his whole thing. We've seen it before, is all I'm saying. Don't try to make me shit on people. No, people no we don't need to make you try to do that
Starting point is 00:32:08 and then we get to madonna oh god why the fuck didn't Papa preach? You know what, though? We like to have fun with things, but that Madonna thing was very disrespectful. I'm telling you, I'm not this guy that I sound like at the moment. I'm not the wild race guy and look for the racial shit behind everything. I swear I'm not. Yeah, no, it's not even a race thing. It was just the context.
Starting point is 00:32:45 No, it was just a disrespectful thing. Her context and everything she was saying had absolutely nothing to do with Aretha Franklin. But my point in that is I felt the way I felt long before that moment. My point is those feelings, if you were watching, feeling that way, flared up
Starting point is 00:33:05 like a roller coaster throughout that throughout that taping I still don't know what Aretha Franklin had to do with that like I still don't even get it
Starting point is 00:33:14 like they had this big backdrop Madonna went out there and spoke talked about going to France for nine minutes about
Starting point is 00:33:24 the biggest Bum ass Bullshit story And what the fuck Did Madonna say She lived in the crack house Yeah she was doing She was thinking
Starting point is 00:33:34 Rob in her Third floor walk up apartment On the lower east side Oh Mel Way in the back of the line Madonna So did we all We all have been robbed
Starting point is 00:33:43 And we was on the Eighth floor Way worse Yeah come on Just to say that She had this thing back of the line, Madonna. So did we all. We all have been robbed. And we was on the eighth floor. Way worse. Yeah, come on. Just to say that she had to sing, dig in her fucking freestyle bag and find a quick Aretha song. And we know that she didn't do a great job.
Starting point is 00:33:54 I know why she didn't get the job. No, no. Madonna's definitely not killing an acapella performance. No. Yo, Madonna, nobody is looking for that reference. No.
Starting point is 00:34:04 That rough. That, what's nobody is looking for that reference. No. That rough. What's it called? That cover. Yeah, no, we don't need that. No, that's a cover that shall remain covered. And remember, this is a young Madonna, just starting Madonna. So she definitely didn't have any vocal training like she does now. And can y'all, let me just say, I used to be a huge Madonna fan.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Like, I don't want to come off like I'm just you know madonna i loved madonna until rihanna i love madonna until rihanna seriously that's fair i still love bar that never made it um no i still love madonna just not as much now after rihanna is all i'm saying there's some myths that that i've and this is my opinion, only my opinion, I'm not bringing up for us to debate. There's some myths that, well not myths, but some shit we used to live by that just didn't travel. And for me, like, one of
Starting point is 00:34:55 those is, like, we used to really applaud LL Cool J because he had 20 years in the game. Now, we're not really going to applaud, I don't really applaud him for that. It's rather easy. There's a lot of them with it. He was like the only one we were saying it about.
Starting point is 00:35:12 He was the first one for a long time. Yeah, but now it's like. I'm still applauding him. I'm still, especially from that generation. Oh, no, it is to be applauded, but what I'm saying is that was like, he was one of the only people that could get that. Okay. There's like a long list of that.
Starting point is 00:35:23 I'm sorry, Mom. Today. I'm still applauding him. And i don't know how long that list is that list is long i can name that were that were relevant in that many generations that word is not in my debate that word's not my debate oh so just just stayed alive because fat joe was on that list for me and fat joe has not been relevant every fucking year but you don't really have to at that point no am i off but ll's got 15 years on yeah on joe i'm saying from from that generation lls was really the only one that kept consistent has ll beat in longevity in hip-hop yes he does musically yeah that's all i'm talking about yeah so i don't try to shit on joe i'm not shitting i said i wasn't trying to debate
Starting point is 00:36:01 this no we're not debating what point was point was I making before this? I understand what you're saying, but there's still, for an artist to last that long, and anything you do, for you to do it at a consistent level 15, 20 years, that's impressive. But I do understand what you're saying, though.
Starting point is 00:36:18 It's like, it's not as, it's not as like a mysterious mystique around it anymore. I get what you're saying rihanna is the mystique to me oh yeah now and that's it now for sure i think rihanna you could put any generation that she was gonna be the one i agree i don't know i don't know i think timing is everything that's just let's get back to madonna because we got a lot of shit to cover madonna went on that
Starting point is 00:36:43 long rant to drop us at least maybe six words about Aretha Franklin. You don't think it's a little disrespectful and offensive? No, I thought it was very disrespectful. Come on, man. Am I off? Am I off base? I don't think it's a little. Come on, white people.
Starting point is 00:36:53 Support me in my black anger. You're right. I said it was disrespectful before you did. Yeah, but you got to keep repeating it. Okay. It's disrespectful, bro. Yeah, come on. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:37:01 That's not a crazy take, Joe. I think that was the consensus, though. Yeah. I think everyone felt. Plus how she was dressed and all that shit. It was just, it felt like a rant, and we were waiting for her to tie it all together, and then the tie came, and the tie didn't fit. No.
Starting point is 00:37:15 It was like. Shoes was definitely untied. Yeah, the shoes was still loose. It was a clip-on tie. I was like, wait a minute. Is that the punch? That was the punchline? Like, you had to sing a reaper song, acapella, and you didn't get the job, but then they told you to come to Paris?
Starting point is 00:37:29 I was like, what? What the fuck does that have to do with the great Aretha Franklin? I don't get it. Like, I just didn't, I didn't understand. But again, I wasn't, I was expecting more from Madonna. Only because she came up in the 80s. Yeah, come on, Madonna. When, you know, Miss Aretha Franklin was, you know, in the 80s. You madonna when you know miss aretha franklin was
Starting point is 00:37:45 you know in the 80s and the night yeah she's from detroit it's like you white royalty white royalty supposed to acknowledge other black royalty got it i was working to come on royalty acknowledge royalty yeah come on that wasn't right then she didn't she didn't do it right it was it was a madonna moment it was about her uh you guys were happy to see jarul yes i know rory was of course yeah man rory was book jarun countless times and countless times yeah countless jarul is such a new york gem though like in music like when you think about it only because i feel like he he had such a moment but then it just like it went away and to this day I feel like
Starting point is 00:38:25 as a fan of hip hop we were robbed of that artist like I always feel like that I feel like there was so much more that we could have
Starting point is 00:38:32 gotten from he could have kept going yeah like and I tell people to this day I feel like I know people think I'm crazy
Starting point is 00:38:38 I feel like he has better records than 50 that's why I didn't understand that whole beef when people would just sign I'm like yo Ja has better music than 50 I need a why I didn't understand that whole beef when people would just sign with I'm like yo Ja has better music than 50.
Starting point is 00:38:47 I need a list of the people that you think 50 has better music than 50. That 50 has better 50 has music. everyone has better music.
Starting point is 00:38:53 No not everyone. I just think that Ja has better records than 50. You can say better hits. I wouldn't say better music.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Even though I do like some like B-side records of Rue and I like his albums But hits would be the only thing I would give Ruel over 50 But did you say that Around some people
Starting point is 00:39:09 They don't They would think you're crazy If you say that And then I'm looking at people Like yo How old are you Yeah yo Ja Rule's got smash
Starting point is 00:39:15 But a lot of people don't They don't recognize that Yo we go off on 10 Just quit We do We don't stay on shit No we talking about Ja We just talking about him
Starting point is 00:39:23 Coming out last night To VMAs, and it just brought back when they did that record. Like, all of that shit came back, and I'm like, damn, Ja had joints, man. What did y'all think about J-Lo's little twerk game? They tried it twice. It was a 50-year-old twerk. I was cool with the first one, and then they did it again.
Starting point is 00:39:43 And I was like, all right, J-Lo. Yeah, it was an athletic twerk. It was a lot of muscle. One would have been fine. A lot of muscle. It was a lot of muscle in that twerk. Yeah, she definitely has pulled a hamstring.
Starting point is 00:39:54 That was a yoga twerk. That wasn't the in living color twerk. No, no, no. That wasn't the fly girl twerk. That was a black and white. No, that was hot yoga on Park Avenue twerk.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Yeah. Yeah, that twerk was a little suspect. Yeah, that was a hot yoga twerk. I know Fly Girl twerk. That was a black and white. No, that was hot yoga on Park Avenue twerk. Yeah. Yeah, that twerk was a little suspect. Yeah, that was a hot yoga twerk. I know hot yoga twerk. You couldn't tell I'd A-Rod, though, boy. Oh, A-Rod just happy to be here, man. He just listened, man. He was flicking away.
Starting point is 00:40:14 I cheated. I lied. I snitched. I'm all right. I got 300 million. I'm good. You know, life is great, man. Yo, at the end of the year, we giving out some nasty awards,
Starting point is 00:40:24 and I want to give out some top five rebrand awards at the end of the year, we're giving out some nasty awards, and I want to give out some top five rebrand awards at the end of the year. A-Rod's on my list. He's a good rebrand. For sure. Oh, yeah. A-Rod landed nicely. For sure. We did.
Starting point is 00:40:35 After robbing the Yankees. And let me tell you, by the end of the year, if he has J-Lo pregnant, he might be number one. I mean, hey, Let's talk about it I'm not rolling with all that What? Let's simmer it down Are they going to be very public about this?
Starting point is 00:40:52 If it's like a real public pregnancy You guys can't say pumping them out You said pump You said pump it up You can't say to your team J-Lo is still pumping them out You said pump it up your whole career Go ahead
Starting point is 00:41:04 We signed a deal Say whatever the fuck you want Oh, you're royalities? Do you think J-Lo is still pumping them out? You said pumping up your whole career. Go ahead. We signed a deal, man. Say whatever the fuck you want. I'm just saying, bro. Nah, if they're public about that pregnancy, I might roll with Maul. That's going to be a crazy rebrand. Insane. Maul. Because I don't know if you remember how hated Alex Rodriguez was.
Starting point is 00:41:21 And we have to pull up the pic with A-Rod, J-Lo, and Mark Anthony at a Yankee game together. We just got to keep circulating that. And I think Puff was in like the fourth row. Yeah, we got to keep circulating that pick. I ain't gonna lie. Jace, first, don't talk about Puff on this podcast.
Starting point is 00:41:34 I applaud Puff for that. No, no, no. I just said don't talk about him. Wait, fuck. J-Lo slid away from fucking Mark Anthony. She slid away from Ben. Like a true Bronx veteran that she is. Nah, I think Ben won that glow up.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Sorry. I'm not giving that to J-Lo. I don't know if Ben won that glow. I've seen a few movies after that. No, you didn't. Every last movie was fire after he left. It was no more jigglies, gigglies. Yeah, he had the town.
Starting point is 00:42:01 It was all big shit. Hey, Ben was quite focused back in his career. We know that. We know that focus, right? Was Daredevil after J-Lo? No. Gone Girl? No, Daredevil was with J-Lo.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Gone Girl was after. Daredevil was after. Daredevil was after. No way. She was in the movie. She was in the movie. She was in Daredevil. That was a quick rebound bag.
Starting point is 00:42:23 That was a quick rebound bag. The quick rebound bag. Yeah, you know. Nigga, that right there. No, you got to take a pick with something fine after you lose something fine. That's a fact. I mean, but he did. Come on, ball. When he did turn, he went from Dead Devil to Batman, so I can't be mad.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Any nigga that go from Dead Devil. The town gone girl, you win that. I mean, he's still Batman. He got the check. He went from Dead Devil to Bruce Wayne. I mean, hey. All right, so listen. No, let's move on really quickly and close out here.
Starting point is 00:42:44 And I love Doug Callen, so yeah, he might have won. I'm telling you. I'm, so listen, no, let's move on really quickly and close out here. And I love Doug Callen, so yeah, he might have won. I'm telling you, I'm telling you, Doug Callen was super hard. Maul, you and I, somehow I thought we was home.
Starting point is 00:42:54 I thought I was home and I thought everybody was watching the shit and I thought they would watch Travis Scott. When I saw Travis Scott, I thought we should do like a Travis Scott
Starting point is 00:43:02 appreciation day. That's how much I'm... I was blown away. Pause. I'm really on the... That performance shit worked on me. He's a really good... He's an energy guy. It's much deeper than that for me.
Starting point is 00:43:18 He's never not on tour. That's a showman. That motherfucker just performs all the time. The only thing I didn't like about his VMA performance is because Travis does so much with his vocals on records, it doesn't sound the same live. So it was like, he was in another octave. That's part of what I appreciate. He was in another key.
Starting point is 00:43:35 I was like, ah, they just don't hit the same. That's part of what I appreciate. And then when he started it, he tried to start in the same key as the record. And then he was like, I can't do this entire record. So then he went a whole other key up. I was like, ah. Brilliant. was like I can't do this entire record so then he went a whole nother key up I was like ah brilliant nah I don't like that
Starting point is 00:43:48 it was a brilliant in the in the but I love the records though yeah he picked to do I think he should've listened
Starting point is 00:43:55 I do wanna see that tour but I'm terrified of the mosh pits so if like we could get like an area like way high up and just like watch it sitting down
Starting point is 00:44:03 I'd be happy to do that I need a suite for that show put me in a suite don't ask me to prove any of this because i cannot and i will not and i'm in a joyous mood but fuck it i'm rolling them out oh god yeah for quite some time i've been crediting uh travis scott with uh thaning powers from Kanye. For a while. For years. Which I think Yeezus was Travis.
Starting point is 00:44:30 I think the opposite. For years. For years I have. I think it's the opposite. So if you subscribe to that theory like I do, I also credit Travis Scott and his beautiful child's mom or wife or whatever the fuck they are, because I really do think them two are, I like their Kardashian rollout. I love them.
Starting point is 00:44:52 I love how they do what I know that family does. Well, they got a number one album because of it, just because of them two. They move so different than Kanye and Kim. They move so different. So in my head, I relate a beef deer somehow. than Kanye and Kim. They move so different. So in my head, I relate a beef deer somehow.
Starting point is 00:45:10 No, it's just in my head. Just to make it fun. Just to make it fun. I don't know anything about that. But to add to my shit, I put a little sauce on that one. Wait, hold up. Really adds to my listening experience on Stop Trying to Be God.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Am I the only one that does that? I'm with you. All right, thank you. I have no ego, Joe, so I don't know where you would ever get. They would be mad at someone else getting attention. Well, there was already rumblings about Kim feeling a little way about old girl, about her sister. I don't know if you've seen the behavior of those two people. You mean her?
Starting point is 00:45:39 I could never see her being upset. Yeah, old girl. They beefing now. She beefing with one of them sisters. Send Toby. Send Toby. Yeah, old girl. They beefing now. She beefing with one of them sisters. Send to me. Send to me. That's what girlfriends are for. They give you all that information.
Starting point is 00:45:51 You know they beefing out like each other. You be in your phone doing something totally different. Here they gonna want to hate. Yeah. You got to hear about some bullshit like the Kardashians. Yeah, pick a K. Pick a K. Pick a K. Pick a K. so last night to hear him perform in that voice that you talking about yeah i agree with you it did sound weird but boy he has a powerful voice yeah it worked that's what it it it sounded
Starting point is 00:46:19 different in the record yes but it's powerful he was dancing on the octaves and then i was like then i really felt bad that we didn't really give him his proper respect when that album came out because we were busy we were busy so we didn't stay on it like we should have stayed on it and finally i think he saw the fruits of his hard work and his labor and he let us know that it was number one album at the end and that's why, I have written down here the difference in approaches. We've heard Nicky's mouth this whole way through about everything. I didn't even know Travis Scott could talk until he said that shit last night. I've never heard a peep out of Travis Scott ever before.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Ever. I like that. Yeah, he doesn't do a lot of... Yo, the niggas that just go about business according to the regularly scheduled program that shit is sexy I was never able to do that for real so so while you came away with a different take I was like damn Travis Scott I'm grateful I'm grateful that that he's here and he's around he's got that sound that I I be looking for from some other people and it just don't quite, he does his sound the best.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Yeah, no, he definitely does his sound the best, but I will say, you know, I've seen interviews with Rocky before addressing, you know, this, but last night I could kind of see what Rocky was alluding to because I did get a lot of ASAP Rocky vibe from his performance. I don't want to hear that.
Starting point is 00:47:49 I could get it from the fashion maybe, but never the music. Yeah, the music though. Even the music. Now, this album, y'all know how I love this album. But even in the music, I can kind of feel the influence. Well, from Houston. I was going to say, yeah, he's from Houston. He's from Houston.
Starting point is 00:48:06 No, no, no. I understand it, but you still got to put Rocky in that, though. No, I don't. Rocky's from Austin. What do you mean? Yeah, but it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:48:13 That's still his vibe and his sound. Yeah, but Travis is doing what his surroundings do. Rocky don't make enough... And that's not necessarily true. That's not all.
Starting point is 00:48:23 We can bring up a bunch of Houston artists that sound nothing like that. That's true. What are y'all arguing right now? I got confused. No, I was just saying Travis take anything from Rocky. I can kind of see why Rocky would feel like. Man, whatever he took, he is utilizing that
Starting point is 00:48:37 shit to the max. I agree. And I don't want to steal it from Rocky anymore. I agree. That's for certain. Let Travis keep it. Whatever he took. No, I agree, but I can see why Rocky would feel some type of way is all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:48:49 All right, we'll go feel some way, nigga. I think it would just be image, not music at all. Yeah. No, not so much music. Image. I could see the image for sure.
Starting point is 00:48:56 But again, I mean, Rocky kind of birthed that era of those kids dressing up. Hey, A$AP Rocky, you feeling froggy out there? Go ahead and jump
Starting point is 00:49:05 Go ahead and say something to Travis Nigga sing your ass under a table Nigga I don't know I don't know man Joe you can't just jump out there And say that like that Like Rocky just ain't going
Starting point is 00:49:18 He got some joints Some recent joints too Yeah His album was alright this year Hell yeah You got Travis all the way fucked up. Travis Scott, let me tell you
Starting point is 00:49:27 who Travis Scott is. This told me all I need to know. I'm shocked at this 180 from yesterday. What happened yesterday? Well, no, he was never a Travis hater,
Starting point is 00:49:37 but I'm just a real big up that I've never seen before. Travis text this nigga or something. Yeah, something happened. I could always tell when these niggas text Joe.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Nah, Travis talked to him. Joe come in like, no, his rebrand is crazy. You know, like, I'm feeling him. I'm feeling him. He explained in my DMs. Yeah, I'm feeling him.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Oh, Rory chimed in with some, you got a little impersonation too now. What you mean? Niggas funny when they leave, what job? When they put their little two weeks in. I got time to joke now. Yeah, they just come in with the shit.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah, you got to. No, Travis Scott hang out with like Yes Jewels and shit. Yeah, I can see it. Oh, shit. Shake Fire, Yes Jewels. Oh, I read the little Twitter rant. I laughed. I did too.
Starting point is 00:50:18 I was like, you didn't see that coming. You got to. I love that y'all see this stuff that I would never see. I love that. Oh, come on never see that i love that oh come on no i'm trying to i'm just saying i'm thank thank you for telling me i didn't know anything about that i thought i thought they'd been split it ways though oh i guess it got exposed oh yeah because i thought they'd been and jules got in her victim bag don't say split it again okay split no we signed part ways you can't say split it
Starting point is 00:50:46 split it's not a word split is a word now yo no fucking uh but no oh so you didn't see the tweet no it was it was spicy it was a little she got in her victim bag started crying in tweets and shakes the fuck out of you yeah yeah yeah oh i missed the shake response well that's that was the response more yeah oh she yeah she catered yeah oh she yeah yeah yo women you got to be very careful to not back yourself into that yeah corner during an argument like if a nigga just look at you and yeah yeah you lost you lost that one with your your whole point of view And argument Yeah You gotta storm out the room
Starting point is 00:51:27 You gotta do something drastic then No I was shocked Shorty was like Right after the Nas album I was like Yeah Yeah That is when you're supposed to leave
Starting point is 00:51:39 After the Nas album Bye Fire What was we talking about before that? Travis But I think we're moving on anyways. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm moving on. I'm shocked that you're shocked at my fucking Travis appreciation.
Starting point is 00:51:50 No, I'm happy. I have a lot of appreciation here today. Today, I got Travis's on my appreciation list. I think Astroworld is definitely a huge candidate for best album of the year. In this year of albums. Yeah, we've said that about you. No, no, no. And we've also said, nah, nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:52:05 The nah, nah, nah comes too. I know, but I'm waiting for the next one to no, no. And we've also said nah, nah, nah. The nah, nah, nah comes too. I know, but I'm waiting for the next one to come out so then I can say nah, nah, nah again. And Quietest Cat, there's mad months left in a year. We've been tossing that around. But I don't know
Starting point is 00:52:14 who's left to come out. That's what we think. Did y'all hear the Young Thug shit? The who? The Young Thug compilation project? Oh, yeah, I went through it, yeah. Nothing really.
Starting point is 00:52:24 That's not for me. I would be the wrong person to analyze that album. I would like a Young Thug R&B album at some point. Alright, that's all I have for the VMAs. An hour later. Did you listen to Young Thug album? Briefly. I liked a couple of the joints, but
Starting point is 00:52:43 then I quickly unliked them when I learned that his artists were on them I'm kind of trash with those oh no buddy ain't gonna sneak
Starting point is 00:52:50 your artist on me I'm a fan of you and you only well mad artists have tried to do that to us yeah but that's how I end up
Starting point is 00:52:58 liking one of them lunatic songs Murphy Lee has some joints no Murphy Lee was my nigga I'm actually trying to talk about the dude with the mask you know he was super cool too I just really Jungs. Murphy Lee has some joints. No, Murphy Lee was my nigga. Yeah. I'm actually trying to...
Starting point is 00:53:05 Talking about the dude with the mask? You know, he was super cool, too. I just really said it for the joke. I'm fresh. Okay. What was he talking about before that? Something important, I thought. Not the Louis X.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Album of the Year? I don't know. No, not the fucking Album of the Year. I forgot. Ian, come on. Can we be real about the fucking collaboration song of the year? I've never heard that song
Starting point is 00:53:28 in my life. Which was it? J-Lo and Cardi record? Yeah, with Khaled. I've never heard that record. I remember when it came out and then I never heard it again. Yeah, I never heard it.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I have never heard that record. I've never heard it. Oh, I had a blast when it was pumping up for the Viewer's Choice Award. Rookie of the year, Cardi B versus Hailey Schneisenheimer. Schneisenheimer.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Yo, so I didn't want to thank you. I mean, yo, they put that up at least seven times, right? So I didn't want to be naive and ignorant, so I'm like, yo, I ain't going to lie. I said, Hailey Schneisenheimer would probably be getting busy over there in Kermit Hagen or wherever she's from, right? So I ain't say nothing. So I ain't going to lie. I said, Haley Schneider, we're probably going to be getting busy over there in Kermen Hagen or wherever she's from, right? So I ain't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:54:08 So I ain't say nothing. I'm just letting them rock. I'm like, damn, this must be a close battle. So then they say, and coming up next, special performance from Haley Schneider. She was on a stage calling SOB. Wait, I'm looking at this and I was like,
Starting point is 00:54:24 she was in Park's Living room She's really about To bring it home She got out there And did the Japanese Bullshit What was that
Starting point is 00:54:33 That was like The Japanese shuffle That was the Schneisenheimer Yeah you're not up On that dance I said you're a fan Oh you're still doing
Starting point is 00:54:41 The shoot We on the Schneisenheimer Hey Haley Hey Haley Check Hey, Haley. Check this out, man. You're not beating Barty. I don't know how many of your friends you got calling up. All of them.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Not enough. She had a group chat. Yo, hashtag this. I knew it was bad when Haley Backup Dancers was doing like the outdated R&B shit. I'm like, y'all not beating Barty like that. Anyway, all right. That was my VMA rundown. And that's all I got for the VMAs. I have a new question for all of you.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Who believes Nicki Minaj is not in a 360 deal? Who believes she's not in a 360 deal? Oh, you mean for us? Not even Tez or G believe that shit. Yeah, I don't know if I believe that. Yeah, man. Hey, but you know what, though? Ma, no, don't you know,
Starting point is 00:55:27 don't matter fact. Don't matter fact this one. He gonna ask the person that's tricking her into thinking that she's not in 362. Ma, come on, man. Put the phone down. Yeah, Nicky Button.
Starting point is 00:55:39 Nicky Button was on one today. I think she is, but I just want to be sure. I'm texting, baby. Listen, I don't even know where... Y'all got to help me. This is like the first time I'm lost in even how to cover some shit. Nikki's been all over the place. She did a lot. She had a busy week.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Yeah, my memory is bad, but just every day... Yeah, I don't even know where I couldn't even keep up. She told Travis Scott his album is not... She called. She spoke to Travis Scott. Told, son. Yo, look here. Your shit ain't number one. And She called. She spoke to Travis Scott. Told son. Yo, look here. Your shit ain't number one. And he agreed.
Starting point is 00:56:09 He said, all right. No, she told us. She said, no, yo, Travis, no, he ain't number one. I spoke to him. He said, all right. She was like, I spoke to him. That's what she said. I know, man.
Starting point is 00:56:18 It's just sad. Oh, man. If Maul is fed up, you have some reevaluation to do. It's not that Oh man If Maul is fed up You have some re-evaluation To do It's not that I'm fed up It's just like I'm just I don't
Starting point is 00:56:29 I just don't understand How her camp Is allowing her to Move like this Yeah I don't I just don't understand that Well I had tweeted I don't judge the meltdown
Starting point is 00:56:37 People have meltdowns All the time I really judge the people Around them That let it happen publicly Yeah like I just That's what I don't understand Like I'm just like
Starting point is 00:56:44 And I know sometimes not care about you. But yeah, Nicki can have a meltdown. No, you can have a meltdown. That's fine. Where are your friends? When you're on the level that Nicki is on... She sold 200,000 albums. That's a lot of records.
Starting point is 00:56:59 That's a lot of records. So I'm not understanding why all of this is... Here's a question that I've asked myself. If Nicki had the number one album, would she be doing this expose the streaming services rant and campaign? No. Well, stop, because we're going to get into that later.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Well, I want to spend time on that one. So we'll get into that later. Let's get back into whatever. She brought the poor baby into it. Damn, Stormy was hating. Stormy, she bought all the albums. Defend it, mom. I can't defend it.
Starting point is 00:57:42 I can't defend it. I really man I can't I can't defend it I really just don't understand How they are allowing Nicki to She's just doing shit That's just like Yo you're not You are way too big of an artist To be moving like this
Starting point is 00:57:55 I'm sorry Like you on your phone Way too much She sold 200,000 fucking albums That's not a bad That's what I'm saying So I don't understand Where all of
Starting point is 00:58:04 This extra Like this You know It's like you just Doing way too I've never seen An artist of this caliber Just talk this much
Starting point is 00:58:12 Well I think I think You have to live and die On that hill When you For your whole Last six months Have only talked about numbers
Starting point is 00:58:19 And numbers are the only thing That matter And this is why I'm better than everyone else 200,000 is great to us But when you've been Just pumping out that you're the number one person and it's only because of numbers, fuck the music, it doesn't matter what the climate is there, it's just I'm number one because of this chart or this streaming service.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Yeah, 200,000 does not look that great when that's the only thing you've been pumping out to your fans for the last six months. And let me clarify, I no longer think that Nikki is in a 360 deal. I don't think that. Clarify that on the break. We want a break. Sorry. I'm on air. Pardon me.
Starting point is 00:58:56 But I don't think so because of her deal is not direct. She's in quite a few deals. I don't think she's in a 360. I don't think she was negotiating that's just my opinion but anyway listen this is how I get here I'm still trying to identify
Starting point is 00:59:13 this behavior and pinpoint why it's happening can I pose a scenario hey there's Ian that's Ian that's Ian my man Ian is here let's hear it let me don't get us in trouble a scenario for you guys we're corporate don't get us in trouble not getting us in any trouble all right great okay here we go
Starting point is 00:59:34 so recently what if ian was the guy to get us in trouble all right fine okay so recently along this uh timeline that we're all following with Nikki, you see that she's been spending a little more time with someone named Takashi. Takashi's tactics and marketing approach, so to speak. That's why we're firing Ian. Hold on. Hold on. That's what he's saying. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Is abrasive to say the least. And as opposed to what's happening with Nikki, it's working. So maybe some influence as to the erratic behavior that everyone's talking about is a sign of the direction she's heading in for everything. The views for her other records on YouTube do not mirror that of Fifi. Let me just throw that out there. Yeah, but what she's doing right now. So when you tell me that it's working,
Starting point is 01:00:27 I don't see any indicator on that. You just said it. You said she's seeing results. I see what he's saying, though. She's taking up the blueprint of, let me just make a lot of noise. Exactly, because that seems to work. But again, I think the only reason
Starting point is 01:00:42 this behavior is happening because she put that out there. You either have to be number one and your numbers have to be the best and it doesn't matter. We keep isolating. And so the numbers have to be wrong. We keep isolating incidents
Starting point is 01:00:52 because we live in a very momentary world right this second. So let's talk, let's encapsulate all this shit. Let's talk about everything that she's done because it's been a lot. I think it's way more than, I guess this is my retort. I think it's way more than, oh, she's doing a Tekashi shit.
Starting point is 01:01:12 She did Black Ink. I'm not joking. Honestly. No, but it went number one after she was on it. She told us. It's all about numbers. Listen, but I'm just putting this all together. She did Black Ink.
Starting point is 01:01:26 Her mom did an interview about the case. I missed that one. With the news. That was telling. No, just the way you said with the news was funny to me. That was telling because we've been waiting to hear anything from them regarding that. I didn't even see the mom's shit. That's my point to you about a lot has been happening.
Starting point is 01:01:47 She did Vogue Brazil. Brazil's a big country. I don't know if it was Brazil. She's in 45 countries, guys. She did Vogue Russia. Also a big country. She didn't even do the Vogue. What I'm saying is she tweeted our texts.
Starting point is 01:02:07 She did. I have a long... That's a wild rollout. My memory is bad. However, there's a long list of shit that I won't say her, but someone involved
Starting point is 01:02:18 has suggested to her to do throughout the months that have just reeked of desperation. It's much, this started way before Takashi and the Fifi shit. Okay. If I'm listening to her, that song happened.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Fairly recently, yeah. With more desperation. She was just on Instagram one night. He was in the studio flipping. She hit him. Thirsty. Yeah. So I'm not,
Starting point is 01:02:44 no, I'm not letting us use the simple scapegoat of it's trolling this is deeper than trolling i've even pointed to it's a little usage like like this is deeper than that so now here i'm leading this is my big leeway into my my grand finale argument with maul huh so we may have had this is this is I think, and I have no basis to say any of this shit. This is just my opinion from years of doing this shit. I feel like Universal and Nicki Minaj
Starting point is 01:03:18 are about to part ways. I know that today that sounds like the dumbest thing in the world. I think it's better for her. I know. Hey, we can argue that some other time. I know that that sounds really stupid. Let me say that.
Starting point is 01:03:31 I got to qualify. I know that sounds really, really stupid. But if I'm watching all of these desperation tactics, and I'm calling them what they indeed are, desperation tactics. Yeah. And I have to figure out why it's happening this is the first i i i go back to you've got to really listen to people when they talk i go back to her and meek because she was with meek when meek was wiling allegedly this is from his mouth and from his mouth it was her guidance and tutelage that kind of helped clean him up a little bit yeah right i'm not off in that right yeah i think that was a
Starting point is 01:04:13 narrative yeah so then i listened to her talk when was it today or whenever the fuck yesterday i don't remember what it was she's even replying to a lot of the rumors and shit that the public is have said has said about her. Right. So it says that she's very cognizant. She's she's very aware no matter what's going on. Right. So if she's aware in doing this, like, no, I'm not pointed to trolling i have to figure out what it is so i think that this was the first time i've heard her go on a universal rant where she was speaking negatively about her record label i think someone who is as big as her when you're that big you're great at concealing things and keeping secrets that's how you stay that big. Right. For her to come out and have poor, poor words about Universal, to me, is a tall tale sign of what is to come. If I couple that with some of the tricks and the tactics to raise numbers, it lets me know how they're feeling.
Starting point is 01:05:20 I've been saying that for over a year. Right. And I'll couple that with this new queen radio thing. The very same thing that she mocked and ridiculed us for three years ago. Right. I don't think she's that delusional. I do think that there's a reason for all of these things. Feedback from the from the floor.
Starting point is 01:05:43 What do you guys think? I don't think it's drugs though i'm not i'm not saying that i don't know what it is no i'm just saying that because that was kind of a narrative i feel like we kind of sort of that's good things we get we're guessing we're guessing right nobody has seen that again i'm going back to why i don't understand any of this is because she sold a lot of records right so i still don't understand what the stop all right so stop right there that leads me to my next point when i was trying to figure out damn what's wrong with selling 185 000 records that's a lot of records it's a lot of records. Even with the tricks, even with the shenanigans,
Starting point is 01:06:26 that's a job well done. She was saying Travis shouldn't have been doing. That's what I understand. We're doing the clothes. You had the bundles with your tickets and the title shit. You can't say that.
Starting point is 01:06:39 All of y'all are doing the tricks. The people that subscribe to the trick game, y'all are doing the tricks. You can't get mad. You can't get mad. Honestly, I'm not even are doing the tricks. The people that subscribe to the trick game, y'all are doing the tricks. So you can't get mad. You can't get mad. And honestly, I'm not even mad at the tricks. Go ahead. I don't care about numbers.
Starting point is 01:06:51 So whatever. If that makes you feel better, do it. I hate that we've gotten to the numbers game in hip hop and music in general. Like, why do we care that much about numbers? My thing is, I don't care about the tricks as long as the music is still good. And that's what bothers me the most about this Nicki thing too. The album's not trash. Right.
Starting point is 01:07:11 All right, so let me make a confession to everyone that's listening. Most of my career, I was never really the guy that was big enough to have to really focus on having the number one album in the country. Right. Never, ever, ever, ever. I always was confused by that. I'll explain. I'll get into how ignorant I was at one point and how it was explained to me. And maybe that could help us here. I never got why people were so focused on the number one album in the country. Number one album in the country. So, end of my career, here comes Rage in the Machine. Rage in the Machine is about to be a number one album.
Starting point is 01:07:54 It has the chance to do it. It has the chance to do it. Yeah, because we know early. See, labels know early. You know where. You can tell by the pace of how something. Yeah, you know what's going on. So Ian started jumping all up and down.
Starting point is 01:08:08 He's getting super. In his Nautica shirt. Yeah. Yeah, it was pressed. I heard it that day. Yo, that whole week, Ian thought we could catch the number one. Woo, was he smiling. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:19 When a nigga smile too much, it's like, come on, my nigga. I think we did a couple number ones. We did No Love Lost, I think, was the number one hip hop, my nigga. I think we did a couple number ones. We did No Love Lost, I think was the number one hip hop, at least. Not number one in the country, but. See, when we start getting into the funny one,
Starting point is 01:08:29 number one, I don't want a funny number one. It's like the podcast charts now. I don't want a funny number one. I don't want a funny number one. You didn't like that algorithm? No, no,
Starting point is 01:08:39 get me off that stream. Yeah, tell me I'm number 127. No, so listen, so my album, my rage in the machine album was a number one album now mind you nobody else came out that week and the next week it dropped a lot guess what didn't really matter because now that it was the number one album, whoever needed to go pitch or leverage or whatever could go and say, hey, this is the number one rap album.
Starting point is 01:09:13 And what that does to all the buzzworthy. See, this stuff is is is this stuff is secret language to casual fans because the music business is built around the casual fans, not around niggas like us who really love this shit they don't really give a fuck about us uh that language is built for them to say hey rap is the biggest genre and this week this was the biggest person spend it now it's kind of like when somebody had to explain to me why everybody was running around lying about their instagram followers and buying Twitter followers and all that shit. I was like, Jesus, is everybody that awkward? No, niggas is just getting to the little virtual bags. Everybody, see, I was late to the whole algorithms bring a bag thing.
Starting point is 01:09:57 The bloggers were on it. Vlad was on it. Everybody was on it way before me. But also, even with that Like Do you guys remember If volume two Was number one
Starting point is 01:10:09 Like After some time It doesn't matter Yeah but you know what You never hear about The number two And the number two Is a big deal
Starting point is 01:10:16 And a big accomplishment But you never hear A nigga say Hey I had the number two Especially when your number two Was right there Numbers wise With the number one
Starting point is 01:10:22 I think it bothered her A little bit too That it was Travis' second week It wasn't number one. I think it bothered her a little bit, too, that it was Travis' second week. It wasn't his first week. I think that bothered her a little bit as well. Yeah, but he's on – It's all back to the perception. He's on Kardashian records, man. But even in that, what is the problem?
Starting point is 01:10:37 No, that buzz was around Travis. Yeah, that's the thing. That buzz was around him. He's been working crazy for the past two or three years. And he didn't receive this same acclaim when his last album came out. He didn't. He deserves this. For sure.
Starting point is 01:10:51 My thing is, Nicki is an established superstar in this industry. She should not, things like this should not upset her. This is not the first time she was number two, by the way. Her last album only went to number two. Do these things really upset her? Yes. Yeah, they do. There's a lot of things that were real and then started coming. I think she's really
Starting point is 01:11:14 bothered about it. Listen, I can't be mad at her for, quote, exposing the streaming thing. I think that's a conversation that needs to be had. There's definitely some bullshit going on there. Oh yeah, for sure. But we just don't... I know you wouldn't do this if your album was number one and the numbers were what you wanted them to be.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Right. Then it would have been fine. It was some real Trump shit. I have a huge issue with that too, Mo. I'll be honest with you. What? She's been playing that game.
Starting point is 01:11:36 So now to stand on the other side of the fence when the game isn't quite working to your standard. Even though it's still working to her standard. No, it's not to her standard. Not to her. still working to her standard. No, it's not not to her standard. Her standard may be a bit
Starting point is 01:11:48 beyond reason at this point. I don't know. But it's not working to her standard. Yeah, man. I still think that she's... That shit was like when Trump tweeted fuck the electoral college, that shit is trash. And then he won. He was like, wow, that's a great system.
Starting point is 01:12:05 I think it's the opposite with Nicki there. I think if she would have hit those numbers and would have been number one, shout out to Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, all my people. That's what it would have been. I don't think your exposing is genuine. I just need Nicki to start acting like a superstar again. That's what I've been saying for three years. Welcome to the last year of this podcast. No, that's just, I just need her to the last year of this podcast like no that's just i
Starting point is 01:12:25 just need her listen you are nikki minaj and maul that's why i guess that's another thing for me that highlighted the greatness of travis scott in this particular moment the the contrast and approaches exhibited from these two just yeah like Like Travis got the number one album. We still haven't heard a word from him until he hit that stage the other night at the fucking VMAs.
Starting point is 01:12:50 Then he had, Travis got the number one album and then went to go shoot some hoops. But that's, this is, okay. And then he went and grabbed,
Starting point is 01:12:57 yeah, he went and grabbed his ball kicks. This is what I'm saying. Hit Meek with the step back. This is what I'm saying. That was symbolic. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:06 You know, it was the nastiest form I've ever seen. It went in. It went in. Meek is 6'5". Why couldn't he block it? Yeah, but no. I had enough of Meek in athletics. When somebody shoots like that, you don't even know what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:13:18 I thought he was throwing that shit out of bounds. You know like the really trash dude on the court and sometimes the shots fall and you're like. No, I get it. That's the nigga that was Jay and Maul's face out the night we dude on the court and sometimes the shots fall and you're like No I get it. That's the nigga that was Jay and Maul's face out the night we went to the park.
Starting point is 01:13:29 My face out. A guy that shoot just like that. No you don't shoot like that. Thad. Thad killed you nigga.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Tory Lanez got worse form? No. Travis Scott has the worst form. No. Tory Lanez has the worst form.
Starting point is 01:13:40 Tory Lanez is hard. Yeah it's really bad. The only time I ever wanted to I saw the clip. I didn't see Hart. Yeah, it's really bad. The only time I ever wanted to... Y'all didn't see the... Y'all didn't see the snapshot. Y'all didn't see the picture of... I thought Travis got shot. Like, I thought somebody
Starting point is 01:13:51 bucked him from the stands. I was like, yo, they clapped my mans in them. You gotta see it. Y'all didn't see that picture. Yeah, y'all didn't see it. No, I saw the video. This might need to be the cover.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Oh, wait. Those were the gunshots? That came from the crowd. That came from the crowd. Travis ain't surviving that one. That was a little tiny. He's going down. I'm sorry, what?
Starting point is 01:14:13 Down? Look at this. Look at this. I hit that little move before. Look at this. Look at this. That looked like somebody that just shot the ball, somebody that just got shot. That looks like me trying to get off the train
Starting point is 01:14:25 It does kind of look like Joe's jumper though Parks don't do that This is insane But look how far back He is behind the three Yeah that's That's Steph Curry territory
Starting point is 01:14:34 Why is his legs This close together On a jump shot Cause he had to shake Meek And that's just how And you know he probably Hit them niggas with like A skirt or something
Starting point is 01:14:42 When it went in Skirt You know he got some Wild No he threw up his middle finger And then ran down and clapped the other backboard. I didn't know what was going on. He definitely had three points, too. There's no way he scored more than after that shot.
Starting point is 01:14:53 Y'all are haters. What are you going to do? What were we talking about before this basketball thing? Oh, that's the only time I'll be wishing I was friends with rappers. Like, when I see the footage of the rappers playing sports together, I'll be like, damn, man. I want to play ball. You could have given them buckets. I want to be there like, damn, man. I want to play ball. You could have given them buckets. I want to be there with y'all.
Starting point is 01:15:07 Every rapper want to play ball. That's like the whole thing. Every rapper want to play ball. Every ball player want to rap. No, no. I want to play ball with the other rappers because I'm going to just elbow them niggas in their fucking neck. This nigga want to fight.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Niggas just want to hoop. You trying to elbow niggas. No, that's my game. That's my game. What is his game? You play ball. That's my game. That is his game. You play bowling. That is my game. Throw that game in the garbage.
Starting point is 01:15:29 That game is trash. Joe's smoking a blunt and boxing out. Smoking a Newport and boxing out, rather. Sitting Indian style. Do y'all want to bother to read these Nicky tweets?
Starting point is 01:15:40 And it's not many of them. I thought we gave Nicky enough therapy for today. I think we kind of like like She brought the Carters up Yeah it's dangerous territory Yeah come on This is what I'm saying I don't get it man
Starting point is 01:15:55 I don't understand This shit at all I do not I do not understand Gotta save face man That number one could have been Her out out of that contract What?
Starting point is 01:16:02 That number one album Could have been her out or a renegotiation period if she hit that number one. There's a lot of wacky shit. Oh, so you're saying that's why she's putting so much on that?
Starting point is 01:16:11 I'll say this. There's contracts that are designed that if you hit certain benchmarks, just like a pro athlete, you have bonuses and or renegotiating periods.
Starting point is 01:16:23 So last album, I know she, this is what I heard, she guaranteed them a number one. So if this album was a number one, there could have been a clause in the contract that said, okay, if you hit number one on this one,
Starting point is 01:16:34 we'll let you renegotiate and we'll give you the bump. That could have set her into a new position. Okay. That makes sense. But I think screaming on Queen Radio is not going to get universal. It'll be like, oh, well, forget the contract, Nicky. We heard think screaming on Queen Radio is not going to get Universal.
Starting point is 01:16:45 It'll be like, oh, well, forget the contract, Nicky. We heard you screaming on the radio. Screaming at Travis. Posting the whale charts. And that's exactly what I need you to defend, Maul. What? Tell me that Nicky's not stealing
Starting point is 01:16:57 the Joe Budden rebrand right before our eyes. Come on, Nicky. Honestly. I still don't get why you say that. You got to be fucking joking. Break it down for me. I don't feel Why you say that You gotta be You gotta be fucking joking Break it down I don't feel like That's breakdownable Like I feel like
Starting point is 01:17:09 You should just like It's out there Are you saying It's as a result Of the radio show She's raging against The machine a little bit She's calling out the labels
Starting point is 01:17:17 She used all the keywords Maul you see the drip Podcast Internet radio Whatever you want to call it She used the word 360 deal She had a soundboard She yelled She yelled really loud Trip? Podcasts, internet radio, whatever you want to call it. She used the word 360 deal.
Starting point is 01:17:26 She had a soundboard. She yelled. She yelled really loud. Yeah, man. Come on. Come on, man. Their gunshots were going soft, too. Some shit is just.
Starting point is 01:17:36 Their gunshots were trash. Some shit, their writing is on the wall. Yeah, but I can't. Because I don't know. You could be the ops. Because you and Nikki be texting. I don't know what goes on. Joe's definitely the ops.
Starting point is 01:17:44 I thought. You and Nikki be texting. Wait, what? what goes on. Joe's definitely the ops. I thought... You and Nikki be texting. Wait, what? Wait, you don't know. The other one has been coaching her. Wait. You might be Coach K.
Starting point is 01:17:51 You might be the K she was trying to pick. This is a story that will go down in the love and hip-hop history books. You might be the K. But what is the truth?
Starting point is 01:17:59 What is a lie? It might be you. I'm not a K, Moe. And I don't have a K anywhere in my name. Okay. Why might I be the ops because we be texting? I already told you that whatever I said about Nikki wasn't ever personal.
Starting point is 01:18:11 No, I'm not saying this. I'm just saying y'all be having conversations. So I don't know what y'all. You might be, yo, listen, Nick, this is what you need to do. Get into your podcast bag. So now you have your own platform to just talk about what you want. You see how I did it, Nick? You could have gave her that. Yeah, you could have gave her that. And now you come in here like To just talk about what you want You see how I did it Nick You could've gave her that
Starting point is 01:18:25 Yeah you could've gave her that And then now you come in here Like yo give me props Same way I gave her The cigarette and the cypher Yeah No Yeah
Starting point is 01:18:32 You might've gave her that I said no You might've I don't know I'm not in your text message Yo Joe you ill man Nah it didn't work Your coaching didn't work
Starting point is 01:18:42 We don't know yet We don't know yet This is blatant thievery What if you coached Nikki to a losing record Oh I'm still in the I'm still in the joke Alright fine
Starting point is 01:18:50 I'm just saying What if it's you If it's you man You gonna fight Yo it's probably like Yo all the streams On Queen Radio Are gonna counter
Starting point is 01:18:55 Your album too So just yell really Fucking loud And look like you on drugs And people gonna come And then play your song On the podcast See
Starting point is 01:19:03 And that's Where you know That the Joe Budden coaching was not there. Let me tell you why. She stole the wrong Joe's rebrand. She stole the wrong Joe. She stole the wrong Joe. Like five years ago, Joe. She stole Pilled Up Joe.
Starting point is 01:19:23 She stole Pilled Up Joe. She stole Pilled Up Joe. She stole Adderall Joe. Any nigga that's still Pilled Up Joe is bringing that Joe right back. Yo, that is the Joe she stole. She ain't still baby Joe. Man, Joe. She ain't still no Pilled Up Joe. No, she definitely did the I Listen to Travis album all the way to the center.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on. All the way back. I can't believe Maul's choosing sides like that. You chose up. I haven't chosen anything You did choose a side You fucking
Starting point is 01:19:47 You're a menage now I'm just saying you might be You might You a Ken You're on video Calling yourself a Ken She called you a Ken And you agreed
Starting point is 01:19:55 Wait what Hold on Where is this video I don't remember Nah nobody remembers At the cypher At the cypher When him and Nicky was talking
Starting point is 01:20:01 She said you could be a Ken Yeah so he is a Ken I can't remember that Look we uncovered it He and you a Ken. Yeah, so he is a Ken. I can't remember that. Look, we uncovered it. He gave you a Ken. I ain't going to lie. You are Ken. Holy shit.
Starting point is 01:20:11 Pick a Ken. We've been with Ken in the rules the whole time. Yo, this is crazy. Yo, give me a drop. Hit anything. Let me just hit something, man. Hit anything. I just need to hear some effects, man.
Starting point is 01:20:21 I got you. You are a Ken. It's coming right up. You're Ken. He's Ken. She's Barbie and you're ken pick a k wow we uncovered the k mystery kobe kd kairi pick a k are you finished are you done parks fade me out. Fair usage. Oh, God. Are you fucking...
Starting point is 01:20:52 Now I got the real version. I knew it. I got the demo. You are kidding. The reference you laid down. Ken Buck. Why you cut it off? Make out with Jan. It's only 10 seconds.
Starting point is 01:21:00 You keep playing it, that'll be 30 seconds. That's Ken Buck. I can't even hear it. Y'all keep talking over the fire. Yo, they put the delay. You got to. All right, Rory. All right.
Starting point is 01:21:13 You don't have to. You're a little bit off beat, though. Turn that shit the fuck. God damn it, y'all. What you mean? I just said what I mean. We just uncovered all of these mysteries. I hate when sendos are at home.
Starting point is 01:21:23 I just said exactly what I mean. What you mean? We just uncovered all the mysteries. I do have when senders are at home. I just said exactly what I mean. What do you mean? We just uncovered all the mysteries. I do have a question. I have a question for you guys. Send y'all all over the place. Let me bring some focus back here. Oh, no, we're focused.
Starting point is 01:21:33 I have a question. Don't plug your music. Word. Don't plug your music. Let me tell you something. Let the bass knock. Nick, you say something about Harry. Tell me one more time.
Starting point is 01:21:42 Fail. Mom. I can't She brought that shit up I cannot defend it Did you guys listen to the Queen Radio shit today? I did I did I did too
Starting point is 01:21:52 In the gym It was not a good gym session I read the group chat when you guys were doing it I really thought that they brought it back And I was re-listening to it Because every time the music came back It was about Harriet Tubman shaking shit up.
Starting point is 01:22:07 And I said, oh, I must be on the replay shit. It must have ended. But why does she keep saying that? That she shook shit up in 19...
Starting point is 01:22:14 Whenever that... Well, I was 18. Whenever the hell it was... Why is she saying that? We've advanced. There's tools and shit that Harriet didn't have back then. How is it relative is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:22:29 Who was a man with her on the air? Her co-host? Safari was the... Oh. I've been cooking Safari. Oh, man. Her co-host, man. I thought Zane Lowe was bad.
Starting point is 01:22:41 Nikki's the best rapper in the world. Alive. Best rapper alive. Tell me about her kicking Larry Jackson out the fucking spot. I miss that. I gotta keep that tea to myself. Oh, you got some tea? Tell you guys off the air.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Oh, you do have tea for real? I'll tell you off the air. Oh, man. I can't say that. Oh, yeah. Hold up. Gunshot. Alright, so fine. Tell us off the air. Let me get off of that for a little bit. I have a question for you, gentlemen. Maul, put your phone down. I have a question for you, gentlemen.
Starting point is 01:23:11 You're in the gentlemen part. Somehow. Somehow. Somehow you've made it to it. Somehow I'm a gentleman today. Trying to call Maul gentle? Damn, Maul. You're going to let him call you gentle?
Starting point is 01:23:20 That's crazy. That's all right, man. You say you talk to James when he sees me. Stop me when I'm lying in my story. Don't stop me for the truth. Don't stop me for the truth. All right, Ken. I mean, Joe, let's go.
Starting point is 01:23:33 All right, so listen to this one. Here's my truth of truth that I thought of for you gentlemen just because I thought it was pretty funny and funny to ask you guys. Two-part question here. We'll probably lie. I would like to know. guys two-part question here probably lie i would like to know i'd like to hear some of the times that you guys had a talk with yourselves what you mean it's a very broad question and i would like i'm doing it right now
Starting point is 01:23:58 find my way out of this question no i mean when's the last time you had a talk with yourself and for what? And what I mean is one of the talks where you got to really get your shit together, man. Last time I was drunk, Saturday. I was going to say, Saturday, do something. One of those talks where life just seems to be escaping you. Yeah, Saturday. You on the wrong track. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:24:26 That type of conversation has been a while. If you're talking about that serious. Where you go to brush your teeth and you look up and it's you. And you're like, dang. You look up and it's you. Who else would it be brushing your teeth? Yeah, but depending on the mirror. Like, you look up and it's you.
Starting point is 01:24:40 You're like, yo, man. I ain't shit. You just disgusted in yourself. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror for six minutes and you're like, I ain't shit, man disgusted in yourself Have you ever looked at yourself In the mirror for six minutes And been like I ain't shit Nah Have you ever
Starting point is 01:24:49 Took something down That you probably should've Took down Went to go grab the towel In the bathroom And caught the mirror And just looked at yourself And you've nutted already
Starting point is 01:24:57 So you're back to reality And just utter disgust What the fuck This bitch is still in your bed too She's not even gone You have to go back out there and see her. Go out there. You make it sound like he went to the locker room.
Starting point is 01:25:09 You got to go back out and play another half. Wait, y'all always clean up after me? Yeah. Y'all just boogie sometimes. What? It's going to dry up anyway. Hold up. I'm going to the bathroom. Are you nasty?
Starting point is 01:25:25 Hold up. I'm going to go to. Are you nasty? Nah. Hold up. I'm going to go to the bathroom. Just leave the house? Nah. Hell nah. I don't want to go in her bathroom. I feel like that's when she's doing the mischievous shit. What you mean?
Starting point is 01:25:34 Going through your pants? Anything. Anything. Where are you going? Are you taking your clothes to the bathroom getting dressed? Any nigga that get fully dressed in the bathroom is crazy. Grab the jeans. Any nigga that do that is crazy. Walls never try to escape. I'm not getting fully dressed In the bathroom is crazy Grab the jeans I'ma just put that out Yeah any nigga that do that
Starting point is 01:25:45 Is crazy Walls never try to escape I'm not getting fully dressed In a bathroom Wait In a house That I'm in That I just had sex in
Starting point is 01:25:52 No Oh wait Talking about You be getting butt ass On the In a strange house You nasty ass No no no
Starting point is 01:25:59 Hustler Why don't you Ask for self respect And leave a tank top on When is the last time You had sex with a complete stranger? That doesn't happen anymore. For me, it doesn't.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Well, we're reminiscing. Can anyone here even answer that? What are you talking about? I'm just saying. I mean, when you say complete stranger, wait a corner. Dodged you. Dodged your little trick. I'm thinking like, I'm saying you usually know the girl for some time is all I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:26:22 It's not like- Following them on Twitter is not quite knowing them. No, but even in that. That's true. You hang out. You spend some. You know the person at least. It's not like a chick you just meet at a bar and you walk to her crib.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Like that doesn't happen. That does not happen anymore. I don't know anybody that's still living like that. That doesn't happen anymore. I'm sorry. That does not happen. You're not meeting somebody and then leaving the spot. Oh, that still happens.
Starting point is 01:26:44 Is it? Absolutely. Wow. Yo, so wait. Wait, wait, wait. then leaving the spot. Oh, that still happens, but not. Is it? Absolutely. Wow. Yo, so wait, wait, wait. I do want to bring this back and address Parks and Rory really quickly. Parks, Rory, and the rest of the brotherhood out there. The whites? Yep.
Starting point is 01:26:58 Okay. Every so often you guys try it. Oh, every so often you think? The whites are trying it. Oh, wow. They're not even trying guys try it. Oh, ever so often you think? The whites are trying it. Oh, wow. They're not even trying to try it. Yeah, but some things, well, no. I mean, I'd say some things are okay and some things are not.
Starting point is 01:27:14 A lot of things are not okay. But sometimes we have to band and bond together as a people to stop certain things. Like, I was really happy to see everybody bond together over the weekend and stop the slander of Tevin Campbell. Yeah. That was beautiful. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:30 How we came together as one. Right? We, in fact, all can talk. God. Yo, why didn't we remove the little drum hit from the soundboard? We have to bring it back.
Starting point is 01:27:43 Yeah, we gotta bring the drum hit back. What was I talking about before? I don't know the whites. Check this out, god damn it. Listen here, Eagles. Eagles. How'd the Eagles
Starting point is 01:27:56 get five million up on Thriller? Alright, Eagles. Don Henley, don't you fucking try it, white people. I'm running with Nicki Fuck these numbers Yeah everybody go stream the Michael Jackson Thriller album right now I'm streaming it right now You know what
Starting point is 01:28:13 Let's just let it run What the hell Just put your phone down and let it run all night Let's do our part I'm gonna put my shit on mute and just stream it right now Stream it now Why would the Eagles think That they could ever That they Eagles think that they could ever?
Starting point is 01:28:25 That they could ever. That they could ever. Yo, Eagles. That don't count, my nigga. It doesn't count at all. It don't count. We're not counting it. That's not even just black people.
Starting point is 01:28:34 White people are not counting that. They're not letting the Eagles win it. Isn't it like a greatest hit? A greatest hit from 65 to 71. That don't count. You're not being Thriller. Get the fuck out of here. Eagles.
Starting point is 01:28:44 Y'all ain't even in real Eagles. I got my shit running on mute right now. Let me turn it down, though. Yeah, that's Mike. We're going to get sued. That's why it's on mute. It's being streamed on. I played as a snare.
Starting point is 01:28:54 Definitely getting sued. Yeah, I didn't like that. I didn't like that announcement. I didn't like that. I didn't like that Eagles announcement. I like how they pumped that up. They snuck that one out there. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 01:29:00 They put it on their IG? Who follows the Eagles on IG? You. You're gross. No, somebody is promoting that somewhere. Let me not say it was the Eagles, but that went out. Why are people purposely trying to make us mad today?
Starting point is 01:29:16 I'm telling you. You're new to this, man. It's not just today. Rory. Do y'all hear Rory? Let me get a hold of this here. What else is important? I don't think anything else is important.
Starting point is 01:29:28 No, I got something else important. I remember year one, Rory and I had a heated debate over Bryson Tiller versus Tory Lanez. A heated, terrible debate. You could tell that that was early in our debating days. Absolutely. That was us in your kitchen debates. It was a lot of bad points. But I was arguing Tory.
Starting point is 01:29:49 Roy was arguing Bryson, right? And I'll say that from that heated exchange that we had, I thought that Tory was kind of going on and bodying shit and Bryson was a little quiet. And then, well, more recently, I haven't heard a song from Tory that I really, really, was kind of going on and body and shit and Bryson was a little quiet right and then well more
Starting point is 01:30:06 recently I haven't heard a song from Tory that I really really really really love a lot it's been a while I liked his album his album yeah I liked the album but I'm talking about he was like the king of Lucy's for a little bit like he would throw out shit that wasn't on the album and it would be better than anything. That's how I identify with him anyway. So here we are. I really was unfair to Bryson. I've been hard on Bryson. And I guess that's why I'm bringing
Starting point is 01:30:33 this up. I've been really tough on Bryson. I have. It's okay to admit it. First album was great. Second album I thought was a little lackluster. He was doing interviews, talking about how he didn't want to do interviews because he was a ghost.
Starting point is 01:30:48 I don't know what was going on. He said he was sad. He said he was depressed. I don't know what the hell was happening, but boy, was I hard on Bryson. Fast forward to now. I'm phony.
Starting point is 01:31:02 I have no problem telling y'all when I'm phony. I don't care we've been so Bryson I love the Bryson record on her EP Maul
Starting point is 01:31:11 you didn't really like it but I loved it I feel like Bryson I like his Jasmine Sullivan Insecure song great record oh
Starting point is 01:31:21 it's a good song I feel like I feel like his second album may have aged a little better. It did. I'm still not going to call it a good album. Me neither. Welcome to the party. Me neither.
Starting point is 01:31:32 But it did. These are the things I tried to tell y'all. But I'm still not calling it a good album. Shut up, Maul. What the fuck? It just wasn't the- All-knowing Maul. Y'all laughed me out the building.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Y'all laughed me out. Get the fuck out of here. That shit's terrible. Well, in the moment, I felt like that. But I feel like it aged a little better. So here we are to now. Let me be phony for a minute. Bryson's back.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Oh, yeah. You are phony as fuck. Hey, Bryson. I can always tell when a nigga is, when he got back, when he got his swag back a little bit. He feeling himself a little bit more? Oh, yeah. This is kind of an ode to end our debate. This is like them
Starting point is 01:32:09 ending our debate. Like, they made friends. Good record. This is Black Republican. When have we heard Bryson like this in a while? I got to come clean. I have not heard Bryson
Starting point is 01:32:21 like this in a while. No, I was in a bag on this. If he stay in this, hold up. I took the was in a bag on this. If he stay in this, hold up. I took the 95 to get from West Palm. Think I need a break from everything. Yes, I'm stressed way more than usual. Oh, anytime you sing about needing a break from everything. Yes.
Starting point is 01:32:36 And whenever you name the interstate that you're on. Oh, you got to name the interstate. Yeah, you can't be trash and tell me what road you're on. Yeah. Like any road, highway, anything. And anytime niggas had a real good time, they was on 95. That's true. Definitely.
Starting point is 01:32:50 I haven't really had bad times on 95. Well, I got pulled over in a DUI once, but that's not important. Oh, I got hit on the Hummer on the 95. That was hitting the Hummer. It was great. I almost crashed. No, no, no. First of all, road dome is dangerous.
Starting point is 01:33:02 Hell yeah. That's not a safe thing to do. Wait, let me play. All right, now I'm going to pause. Road dome is dangerous. Now I'm going to pause the record for two road dome is dangerous. Hell yeah. That's not a safe thing to do. Wait, let me play. All right, now I'm going to pause. Road dome is dangerous. Now I'm going to pause the record for two seconds. Super dangerous. Rory might have a point, man.
Starting point is 01:33:10 No, I should. Let's take a second. The car is not really a great place for sex things to be happening. It's a dangerous thing to do, man. First of all, a Hummer is a dangerous vehicle to drive. So head in a Hummer, my nigga. Like, what was she thinking? And if she getting to it
Starting point is 01:33:25 and fucking up where your leg on the pedal is, you fucked. And then don't let her get in a bag and hit the steering wheel. You can't focus on both the road and the orgasm at the same time. It's not possible. Damn, what made her do that? I think I was playing a little silk on that ride home.
Starting point is 01:33:43 You were playing cheese trash. Wait, no, she's not, Rory. Playing Silk in the Hummer. Wait, wait, hold up, hold up. Y'all hate him. Joe definitely probably had a yellow Hummer, too. He was playing Meat in my Bedroom.
Starting point is 01:33:53 He was playing Meat in my Bedroom in the Hummer. Oh, wait, time out. Time out. Clearly, we need Silk appreciation. And clearly, you niggas ain't been around too many women. Silk works around everybody. Not in the Hummer. Nigga. You can't listen to Meat in my Bedroom in the Hum women. Silk works around everybody. Not in the Hummer. Nigga.
Starting point is 01:34:05 You can't listen to me in my bedroom in the Hummer. Nah, this was going down in the Hummer. Hold up, man. Ooh, she didn't know what hit her. No, you didn't know what hit you. Ooh. Maul never got in this bag ever. You got Maul fucked up.
Starting point is 01:34:23 You never put silk on, nigga. Never. You a Kalani thug. I don't even wear silk. You like a Kalani thug. He's a Kalani thug. I am not. He's definitely a Kalani thug. He loves Kalani. And you say meeting in my bedroom like that wasn't the move.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Hold up. Oh, great record. You can't play that. No, shut up. Shut up. You're in the car. Shut up, man. We shouldn't know you. Not the group. Oh, great record. You can't play that. No, shut up. Shut up. You're in the car. We're shitting on you. Shut up, boy. We're shitting on you, not the group. Oh. What? When I played that, bitch better know I was up to no good. You was on 95.
Starting point is 01:34:56 You took that fall for that. I'll put a strap on your silk. With that big ass Hummer getting eight miles a gallon. There's a meeting. You had to pull over before you could nut. You had to get gas. There's a meeting in the front seat. Yo, how'd a bitch get into a meeting in the Hummer getting eight miles a gallon. You had to pull over before you could nudge. You had to get gas. There was a meeting in the front seat. How'd a bitch get into a meeting in the Hummer? Trash.
Starting point is 01:35:12 See, she didn't make it. She didn't last very long. Alright, what's more dangerous? Road dome or shower sex? Oh, that's... Road. What type of shower am I in? Never. Does it have like the rock shit at the bottom if you think a shower
Starting point is 01:35:27 is more dangerous than a regular bathtub is a dangerous place to have it one with water one with water in it in a car driving yes it is no it's not
Starting point is 01:35:35 what first of all being in a car not having sex is more dangerous than being in the shower having sex nah
Starting point is 01:35:41 what yo if you're about to go into your statistics bag of 99% of people you ask me a question die die I gotta answer it honestly being in the shower having sex. Nah. What? Yo, if you're about to go into the statistics bag of 99% of people die while they're operating an automobile. Set up.
Starting point is 01:35:51 Maybe it's because I'm tall, but the shower's not a place to be having sex. If the shower do not have a chair in there or somewhere to sit or a flat shower, your life is going to flash
Starting point is 01:36:00 before you're very hot. Like the grip. First of all, shower sex is overrated, number one. It's trash. It's super overrated. It's trash. So is car sex. So is washing away all the lube. Yeah, that shit're very hot. Like the grip. First of all, shower sex is overrated, number one. It's trash. It's super overrated. It's trash.
Starting point is 01:36:06 So is car sex. Washing away all the lube. Yeah, that shit's overrated. The lube. Yo, that's how I fuck with Parks. You got to be a different type of creepy nigga to try the lube in the shower move. Well, no. I'm not trying.
Starting point is 01:36:17 That's why I'm like the lube. No, I'm talking about the natural. Oh, her. Oh, okay, okay. The juices, Parks. The juices. Oh, fuck. I just exposed juices, Parks. The juices. Oh, fuck. I just exposed myself.
Starting point is 01:36:28 I just exposed myself. Well, I don't refer to that as lube. That's just if she wet it. Yeah, come on, Parks. Don't trick us. You think lube? Don't trick us. Water's water.
Starting point is 01:36:37 It's not lube. Nasty fuck. But he is right, though. If she fire, you can't really feel it in the shower. And even if you try to get the lube involved, it's washing away too. I wouldn't bring the lube anywhere. You don't bring the lube anywhere.
Starting point is 01:36:52 I'm 28. I'm not dealing with this chick. Silk got all the joints. Oh, come on. This isn't a Silk appreciation. No, yes it is. It turned into it apparently. Well, it was a Price appreciation.
Starting point is 01:37:05 Joe just sprayed a cologne in the air and walked into the mist when he played this. Mo, you keep using me to deflect when you was doing some of this stuff to Silk. I wasn't doing that to Silk. Oh, you was a J-E, nigga. Nah. I wasn't a J-E. J-E. That's how you know he a J-E, nigga.
Starting point is 01:37:21 You call him J-E? Nah. He was a J-E. I'm not under that. Joe was a J-E, nigga, for real. You are corny as fuck for saying J-E nigga. You call him J-E? Nah. He was a J-E nigga. Joe was a J-E nigga for real. You are corny as fuck for saying J-E. J-E. You was a J-E nigga.
Starting point is 01:37:34 You a J-E nigga. Only Jermaine Dupri. They didn't even call themselves J-E. You was a J-E nigga. No, this was the one for Jagged Edge, right? This was the one. Nah, this wasn't the one. This is my... How you telling me what Edge, right? This was the one. Nah, this wasn't the one. This is my... How you telling me what my one was?
Starting point is 01:37:47 This is my... This is my one, nigga, not your one. You can't interrupt him. Yo, no more 11-11 for Rory. Oh. What? Rory is dead. Rory was not outside. No, he wasn't.
Starting point is 01:38:09 He wasn't. No way. Don't lie, Rory. Don't lie. Don't lie. Don't lie. Don't lie. There was no Duce.
Starting point is 01:38:14 There was no Henny. There was no Henny. It was definitely Henny. No, no. It was E&J back then. It was Remy Martin. And there was no Palooza. No Remy Martin Palooza.
Starting point is 01:38:24 It was Remy Martin. E&J used to be the shit. Oh, they about to get him today. Oh. It was Remy Martin. And it was no Palooza. No Remy Martin Palooza. It was Remy Martin. Remy Martin Palooza. He used to be the shit. Oh, they about to get him today. Oh. All right. I wish I didn't about to get it today. More.
Starting point is 01:38:34 Yo, Joe is stupid, man. Why? They about to get it today. Oh, you just got wild mushy just now, man. What's up? I don't know what your name is when you pass the hummer. Joe was reminiscent just now. Oh, wait,
Starting point is 01:38:47 speaking of reminiscing. Wait, what was Shorty's name from the Hummer? Oh, I can't tell you that. I was trying to get you snitching, it's over. Yeah, it's over. Just pick a K, Monica. Just pick a K.
Starting point is 01:38:56 That was a good summer. Good summer in the Hummer? That's probably why he got the Hummer. To rhyme it with summer. He was a rapper back then. I'm going to get the Hummer for the summer. I got the Hummer? That's probably why he got the Hummer. To rhyme it with summer? He was a rapper back then. I'm going to get the Hummer for the summer.
Starting point is 01:39:08 I got the Hummer because there was no good trucks out at the time. That's before Escalade changed the body and Range Rovers changed the body. So Hummer had that quick run.
Starting point is 01:39:16 And no, Hummer had like a run period though. I'm telling y'all that the Land Cruiser was still around then too. First of all, never the Land Cruiser
Starting point is 01:39:23 number one. What year? In 01. This is when the range... Man, there's mad shit. No, this is when you knew the range was about to change the body, but it didn't change the body. You wasn't going to buy a new range.
Starting point is 01:39:33 The range still ain't changed the body. The Land Rover changed. No, they did change the body from then. No, the range went through body change. Yeah, they changed it. They did. You couldn't be seen with the old range. I had to get a Hummer.
Starting point is 01:39:43 How do we even end up on that? You. I don't care. I don't want to talk about a Hummer. How do we even end up on that? You. I don't care. I don't want to talk about that Hummer shit. Oh, shit. Bad news. Bad news. Reminiscing, reminiscing, reminiscing.
Starting point is 01:39:51 Speaking of jagged edge and silken shit. I'm serious. It's a wild tangent. We were talking about Bryson and Tory and how you can't be whack on 95 on a street, on a boulevard. Anytime you mention- No, we're getting back to Bryson. But real quick, y'all heard about what happened to 110?
Starting point is 01:40:10 110? Who's 110? Wait, I was hoping he wasn't talking about 112. No, but two niggas left. All right. Yo, we got sleepers, man. I'm not doing this with this. Wait, I'm not lying.
Starting point is 01:40:27 Yeah, but we not going to do this. But two niggas, I think it was Q and them. Even if two niggas left, they're not one. There wasn't a hundred and twelve. No. There wasn't a hundred and twelve. There wasn't a hundred and twelve. There's one ten of them now.
Starting point is 01:40:39 They can't be one twelve no more. Yes, they can. Without Q and Mike? You make it sound like it was a hundred and twelve with the niggas to start off with. They definitely not one twelve no more. Yeah. It's. Without Q and Mike? You make it seem like it was 112 when the niggas started off with. They definitely not 112 no more. It's like 33.
Starting point is 01:40:48 It depends on who left. Who left? I wasn't calling them 112 after they left the hotel room. Yeah. After they left room 112? It was like,
Starting point is 01:40:58 that's not being cool. That's where the players dwell. We got to know which one of them niggas left. And we have to uncover the beef of them niggas left. And we have to uncover the beef between Missy and Nikki. Missy Elliott? Yes.
Starting point is 01:41:11 Back out, Maul. Back out. I'm not talking to you. I don't even know what type of beef you're talking about. You never know. She always gives Missy props. I didn't know they had beef. I didn't. She gave her a queen award. Yo. Y'all be laughing.
Starting point is 01:41:28 Look, hey, look. Y'all be laughing. Yo, Maul. Maul, no, no. Y'all niggas never give me my props when I'm right, though. Maul, don't talk over our joke. No, but y'all never give me my props when I'm right, though. Maul is the only nigga that has memorized all the queen awards given out.
Starting point is 01:41:40 He like, ooh, Charlamagne about to get one. I don't even know the queen awards. The queen awards. You niggas listen to way, follow way more Nickiagne about to get one. I don't even know the Queen Awards. The Queen Awards. You niggas listen to way, follow way more Nicki shit than I do, and I always get killed for it. That's the craziest shit about all of this. Yo, Moho in the Bronx about, ooh, I think it's Charlamagne about to get a queen. I don't even know what you niggas is talking about.
Starting point is 01:42:01 All right. All right. Yeah, two niggas left 112. Y'all don't give a fuck. No, I don't. I bought the last album. No, the last album was all right. The last album was hard. No, the last album was all right. Yeah, two niggas left 112. Y'all don't give a fuck. No, I don't. I bought their last album. No, their last album was all right. Their last album was hard.
Starting point is 01:42:08 No, their last album was all right. It was like last year. Yeah, it was. Or it was the top of this year. All right, listen, real quick. Not real quick. I say that and it be mad long. Tiana and Jeremiah.
Starting point is 01:42:20 Maul, defending. Shout out to New York City. Maul, I'm just making you defend everything. Yeah. No, I'm rolling with Tiana I am too That's my people Y'all know how I feel about T
Starting point is 01:42:28 Yeah You think you put water in the pool Yeah you You fucking up your tour It's mine now Yeah How you kick someone off Your own tour
Starting point is 01:42:35 Yeah No that's That's gangsta Yeah You fucking up your tour It's mine now And we We've heard this
Starting point is 01:42:43 This shit from Jeremiah Yeah he needs He needs a rebrand. Jeremiah, yeah, he needs He needs a rebrand. Colberg, man. Colberg. Tell him to defend it. That's what we need to do. Call Hitmaker.
Starting point is 01:42:51 Defend it. No, no. Berg is busy dissing Rob Markman right this second. I'm mad he pulled me into the beef. That nigga Berg
Starting point is 01:42:58 is in the studio cutting up Motown Philly. For a Rob Markman comeback? All Rob gonna do is dissect that. Nah, Rob gave him bars. Wait, what did Rob dissect on Genius recently that I was like, all right, Rob. Come on, Rob.
Starting point is 01:43:17 Come on. Something he shouldn't have did. God damn it, my memory fails me again. Jeremiah, somebody tell me. Somebody tell me why people keep going on tour with Jeremiah. He has hits. Because Def Jam keeps pairing people with him. If you want the real answer.
Starting point is 01:43:34 Why is there such an issue with him? He has hit records. It shouldn't be an issue. The hits would negate going on tour with somebody, but clearly he'd keep needing to go on tour with somebody. So the hits don't really mean nothing to me. I thought it was an interesting time for him to headline a tour.
Starting point is 01:43:48 Well, no, apparently they were co-headlining. Oh, I had read it as he was headlining and Tiana was opening and then Tiana said, fuck out of here, I'm the headliner now.
Starting point is 01:43:56 Co-headlining doesn't really exist, by the way. Yeah, how do you, like, someone has to go first. No, co-headlining, I think means that in some cities, DMX did a Rardock life. Yeah, you-headlining I think means that in some cities we'll share it.
Starting point is 01:44:06 DMX did a hard knock life. Yeah, you usually swap them. In some cities we'll swap out who goes last. I know in New York I would assume Tiana would go last.
Starting point is 01:44:13 I wouldn't think Jeremiah would be going last in New York but that didn't happen. Well, didn't Party have that same issue with him? Wasn't that a co-headliner too? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:20 Or was Party open? No, they was going through the same shit. Why does he have so many hits and keep having these type of issues? But the thing about it is Jeremiah doesn't have a lot of hits by himself. That's true.
Starting point is 01:44:30 Yeah, people keep going to his show. So a lot of his records, he's going to just do a hook or a verse and then go on to the next record. So it's like Tiana has a project out that people like and want to see her perform. I like her a lot. But she doesn't really have hits like Jeremiah. No, she doesn't have hits. No, you got to be a Tiana fan to go to that show. I like her a lot But she doesn't really have hits Like Jeremiah No she doesn't have No you gotta be She has her most recent project
Starting point is 01:44:46 You gotta be a Tiana fan To go to that show Cause she's gonna play a lot Cause she has good albums But you're gonna hear The album cuts And she's a better performer Tiana is
Starting point is 01:44:53 She's a phenomenal performer Absolutely She falls on the art side Of the art and science thing For sure Like Tiana is on the road To
Starting point is 01:45:01 To Broaden her Her brand To really get with the fans. She's still grinding. And that's, I think, her biggest asset is performing, dancing. 100%. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:45:14 So I think she was going on the road to do some of the things that niggas do when they used to go on the road. For some acts, like the radio acts, they take the road for granted. Yeah. So would y'all classify Jeremiah as as a radio act yeah for sure i would yeah yeah i mean he definitely has a little core that that is the mixtape jeremiah is the album and the problem for the most part yeah and the problem with these with some of the rate the radio acts is they have a hard time with hard tickets. That's true. Of course.
Starting point is 01:45:47 Which is why they end up pairing with people. So Tiana and Jeremiah on Def Jam. So somebody up there thought that that was a good idea. I mean, I'll be honest with you. Yeah. If you didn't know anything about maybe his personality and his past with touring. And again, I don't know his personality. Just going off what I've heard from other people.
Starting point is 01:46:06 Yeah, I don't think that's a weird pairing. That's why I love that Drake line on So Far Gone about him doing the shows and the backpackers having to be with the gangsters, right? Yeah. Or whatever the line said. That's stuff that somebody has to take into account. Of course. Somebody. And it won't be the label the label the science think the science part of that thinking is hey let you get in front of my fans
Starting point is 01:46:33 let my me get in front of your fans and the fan bases will grow well make sense because he has the hits and she has you know the the core fans yeah if the a lot of times though and this is just my thing I could be off if if the music don't really match which I certainly
Starting point is 01:46:50 wouldn't say Jeremiah and Tiana's music is in the same vein if the music I wouldn't it's not too far Joe yes it is Tiana and Jeremiah
Starting point is 01:46:59 I don't think it's that I don't think it's that far it's super far that's where it's like no way that would work at a concert you can't it's not that far Tiana Taylor far. That is where it's like no way that would work at a concert. You can't. Yeah, it's not that far.
Starting point is 01:47:06 Tiana Taylor doesn't have an essentials, Apple's essentials list. Jeremiah does. A lot of people do. What I'm saying is a lot of Jeremiah's records are radio records. Y'all would be hard pressed to scroll through Tiana's catalog and find all the records that should have worked at radio. Oh, no. No, no, no. We're not saying that at all.
Starting point is 01:47:26 They don't make the same style of music. They're not the same style of artists. They shouldn't play the same venues. I would assume that those audiences wouldn't blend together. The only way something like that would work is if the two artists who's extremely different fuck with each other and they vibe out, i.e drake okay they rock with each other didn't matter about what fan base did what those fan bases were arguing too no they were arguing they blend that is a live rory i'm not saying that they don't blend it all what i'm saying is those fan bases fought when they were touring
Starting point is 01:48:03 together why is this happening? Drake don't need him. Future don't need him, nigga. That was happening. Oh, that debate. That's always going to happen, but it's not going to be, depending on the artist,
Starting point is 01:48:13 such a big argument. I haven't seen that happen not once with Drake and Migos. I haven't seen one discrepancy with that tour outside of offsets legal issues. So it's not just going to happen. No, but nine times out of ten, it will.
Starting point is 01:48:29 Because artists are going to feel like, you know, nigga, we popping too. Like, I'm popping too. I mean, with Jay and R. Kelly, this happened. You know what I mean? This isn't a new thing. This happens when two big acts are on the road together. Jay took care of that shit.
Starting point is 01:48:44 No, he did. There was stories about Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane beefing backstage when they on the road together. Jay took care of that shit. No, he did. There was stories about Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane beefing backstage when they was on tour together. Artists are going to beef. That has to be like
Starting point is 01:48:51 pulling some 80s shit. Hold up, hold up, real quick. Let's just take a second and appreciate Hov. He took care of that shit. No, absolutely.
Starting point is 01:49:00 And Tata. Absolutely. Hey, man, round of applause for Tata. Hold up. Yo, I don't think y'all understand what was going on back then. This is before we all hated R. Kelly.
Starting point is 01:49:12 Yeah. R. Kelly was like God. Yeah. Yeah, he was untouchable at that point. Like praised by everybody. Man, what a friend. Didn't matter to the generation. Tata gets bestie of the year.
Starting point is 01:49:26 Bestie of the year. Tata don Tata gets bestie of the year. Bestie of the year. Tata don't get a bestie of the year award? I would never add an IE to anything regarding Tata. Of course not. I'm not trying to be funny. I have all the respect for Tata. I'm just saying. You just got to know how you move.
Starting point is 01:49:38 He into that one. Hey, all hoes had to do was say, yo, man. He didn't have to say Tata. Yo, Tata. Tata went up to them like, yo, what's going on? What's wrong? What's going on? What's wrong?
Starting point is 01:49:49 I'm confused. I'm confused. Yo, you know Hov ain't probably want to tell them everything. He's like, yo, man, Robert. It definitely didn't go like that. But that's fucking hilarious. In my story. Robert.
Starting point is 01:50:04 You know, all you got to do is tell your best. You ain't even got to tell them what's really. Robert is really making my day long. Yeah. Robert is making my day long. I'm sorry you're making my day long. Yo, when the next show? Wait, New York?
Starting point is 01:50:19 Wait, what? You're hitting that nigga out. Nah, you're not telling me you're stressed about Robert and we in New York for the next two nights at the garden alright
Starting point is 01:50:28 alright this is what we gonna do this is what I'm here for hey we never you know with the rah rah you got Tata hey this is how good job Rory
Starting point is 01:50:40 you worked on that all week I knew we were gonna to talk about this. No, go back to Sony. No, no, no, go back to Sony. Can you put your two weeks back in your pocket? Yo, y'all, I wild out. I wild out the other day. I was tripping.
Starting point is 01:50:58 Yo, but this is how you know he really handled that shit. Because not only did the tour end and the problem ceased we never heard another detail about it well some of us did well yeah but that's i mean that's whole though you know we gotta give a whole some type of appreciation man i do every day and i did it to nice and y'all hate it no drake you gotta stop shaking your hips tonight Make me pause So back to Tiana and Jeremiah This was a sign for me Why Jeremiah ain't going on tour with the nigga he got an album coming out with
Starting point is 01:51:32 Which is Ty Donaldson Well cause I made out I thought touring was supposed to predate albums No Not all the time Well it depends on the artist It can It can
Starting point is 01:51:44 Yo y'all argue with everything jeremiah i i know they can post date or predate jeremiah been on tour since june his album is in august so clearly his plan was to predate the tour right so why would you not predate it with the nigga you got an album coming with but you know why because that nigga's on fire yeah ty got too much shit going on. Yeah, he ain't stopping. You think Ty's stepping out for a pre-tour with Jeremiah?
Starting point is 01:52:10 No, that's what I'm... No, I'm not stepping out on tour with a nigga that can't go... that ain't going on tour with the nigga he got an album coming out with. Especially if he's putting water on the stage. Oh, yeah. I'm not doing Only Human
Starting point is 01:52:19 with water on the stage. Only tears? Yeah, yeah. I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that i'm not doing that i just think that the whole co-headline thing if it don't make sense sometimes it just don't make sense and my thing is i understand artists you niggas got egos but sometimes it's okay to do the room of just your fans there's more to know yo i feel like it's important to say that. Y'all could go do a room of 500 people
Starting point is 01:52:47 and be perfectly fine depending on how you do it. Right. Like, I still... And raise that ticket price. To whatever you want. 15, extra 15 of what you thought
Starting point is 01:52:56 you should do. Get that nice merch game up. Oh, listen. That core fan base is going to spend money. Yeah. I watched Nipsey sell a project for $100
Starting point is 01:53:04 and kill him in cake. I've watched fucking J. Cole do SOBs in a unique fashion. That's never been. I watched him. He had 2 million people walking down the block to go to SOBs. Right. I said, oh, shit. Damn, I've done SOBs.
Starting point is 01:53:19 I never thought of that. I never. Damn, he killed that. Like, it's not really about the venue all the time. It's not really about the venue all the time. It's not really about the size all the time. It's not really about getting in front of
Starting point is 01:53:28 as many people as you can all the time. Sometimes it's about just doing the best thing for your people. Right. The best show. Type.
Starting point is 01:53:40 Roy, are you going to direct Migos tour? Yeah, I'm going Friday. I'm going to clown you afterward. All right. You told me at Palooza. If he going, I'm going to clown you after. Oh, no, I'm going too.
Starting point is 01:53:54 No, you know what he said at Palooza? Yo, what day are you going? I want to go the same day as you. He's way different when we get on this podcast. That shit is crazy. How can I clown you if I go on a different day? Yo, Joe's just that fast. I got him.
Starting point is 01:54:10 No, you can clown her after you go, what was you doing? You'll clown anyway. You could just know somebody went some way. His tone was not that. It was, oh, let's all go on the same day. You snitching. I'm just saying I'm trying to tell the fans
Starting point is 01:54:25 you're just different when we record like you're a good guy behind the scenes Joe phony everybody know that he admits it openly so
Starting point is 01:54:32 yeah I'm riding with Tiana too you going to the show? I was going to the New York show but then I had to film something so I didn't go
Starting point is 01:54:43 and Sin ended up Sin ended up going over there. Okay. She went. Yeah, she went. She went over there. She had a good time. I was going to go, though. There's not many concerts I would go to.
Starting point is 01:54:52 Tiana is. Definitely one worth going to. Tiana is one of them. She puts it down. Listen, I'm doing this Drake and Migos shit, because my kid is pretty excited about it. Little father-son? Yeah, he couldn't go when I was beefing with him. So I mean...
Starting point is 01:55:07 He tried his ass. So we're going to try and make this a real... Do you still get his tickets? Listen, man. What else is important here? And no, he didn't get his tickets. That's a shame.
Starting point is 01:55:22 He didn't go. He heard Wake. You know, it's funny. I see my son going through all the shit I went through as a rapper. It's funny. Oh, no. He hasn't even gotten. Well, not all. Not all.
Starting point is 01:55:34 But I'm saying it's funny watching your 17-year-old son who raps talk about just substance. Yeah. And how hard it is to have substance in this climate. I feel for him. It's harder now for him than it was for you at that age. Much harder.
Starting point is 01:55:48 Substance was the shit when I was coming out. Yeah, it's true. If you're trying to like rap and make it and have substance now, like it's tough. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:55:56 But I think it pays off when you look at Why's that funny? I'm just laughing in the room trying to find substance. Where is it? It's all right there. I always, I laugh that he's trying to find substance. Where is it? It's all right there.
Starting point is 01:56:06 I always, I laughed at you trying to find substance. Word. Don't mumble. I was on dust. The fuck is you doing? You sober? You sober. You sober. Yeah, ain't nothing going on with you. Stay sober, Trey. Yeah, definitely stay sober and shout out to Trey.
Starting point is 01:56:21 That wasn't a Trey bit. Oh, back to Bryson. Let me close out my Bryson shit. I'm phony. We know. And I think Bryson's coming with some shit. I haven't spoken to Bryson. I've never spoken to Bryson.
Starting point is 01:56:34 Except for that one time he reached out to Everyday Struggle to find out if he could be a guest and do an interview, but over the phone. That would have played out great on YouTube. I said, let me get this straight. that would have played out great on youtube let me get this straight you niggas these aren't be niggas it's weird more what's up a party
Starting point is 01:56:51 i don't know why but when i talk about tori and when i talk about bryson i automatically go to party and i should be hearing from party i'm a huge party fan and it's been a little quiet my guess is he's working on a project or working with some artists that's just my guess I don't know Honestly I don't know Moe you think Nicki killed her performance right I didn't see it
Starting point is 01:57:10 Oh yeah you didn't see it I'm sorry I'm sorry I didn't see it So let me Park you saw it Yeah I saw it So let me ask Parks and Rory Do y'all put anything to her performing
Starting point is 01:57:17 At the World Trade Center And not at the awards It wasn't the World Trade Center It was the What's that show called Well yeah It's the World Trade Center The World Trade Center
Starting point is 01:57:23 It's the new thing I thought she was a little. It's the train station thing. It's their performance videos. It's their Rap Genius station. Okay. Well, it's like a mall. It's where the path is.
Starting point is 01:57:33 And other trains. I thought it was a little inconsiderate to the commuters of New York City that night. Rory. Trying to get to Jersey. No, but I don't. Rory's a little MTA rider. Wait, y'all. I don't put it to that because I don't think, unless you're from New York, you knew where she was performing at. Yeah, it I don't actually. Where was the lawyer MTA rider? I don't put it to that because I don't think unless you're from New York, you knew where
Starting point is 01:57:47 she was performing at. Yeah, it's the PATH train. Speaking of traffic. So no, I don't give that to her. Speaking of traffic, off on a quick tangent, if you're traveling, taking the Lincoln Tunnel, they're doing construction for the next 20 years and avoid it. And if you're going to Brooklyn, they're doing the same with the L train, which is going to affect every single train. So good luck for the next three years
Starting point is 01:58:08 for us even moving in New York City or New Jersey. Williamsburg is way less hip. Oh yeah, go buy in Williamsburg now. It might be over for Williamsburg. Only in New York do they just announce, hey, we're shutting down all lanes to the main tunnel for the next two and a half
Starting point is 01:58:25 to three years. Make it work out there. Yeah. Good luck. Because, yeah, the Holland Tunnel is so clear all the time, so you guys should be fine.
Starting point is 01:58:33 Yeah, the news kept pumping up, survive the drive. I'm like, bitch, survive the drive. No, it's one lane.
Starting point is 01:58:42 I'll be in Jersey. The tunnel was already trash. Yeah, for sure. That GW is going to be a fucking... I was just telling Joe, the drive no it's one lane I'll be in Jersey or the tunnel was already trash yeah for sure that GW gonna be a fucking I was just telling Joe I was thinking about
Starting point is 01:58:50 moving back to Jersey but now I don't know not with that shit going on nah you gotta move to Jersey and just stay in Jersey I was gonna say yeah we could all just
Starting point is 01:58:58 stay there y'all be wondering why I don't leave the house like it's traffic honestly there's people outside the house yeah I was gonna say if you're in New York
Starting point is 01:59:05 New Jersey Now's the best time To get like a chick pregnant And just give up And live your life And just leave the house Great advice Rory I think this is the time now
Starting point is 01:59:12 You're doing a great job It's going to be too crazy With the trains and the traffic Just stay in your crib Raise a family Stay in the crib And buy a crib Yeah
Starting point is 01:59:19 Literally I think it's the time I got you Alright And there's traffic and weather You guys You guys There's traffic and weather from Rory Yo Can you call Sony back?
Starting point is 01:59:35 How does it work? Is it like your IG account Like once you disable it Like do you get it back in 30 days? You gotta wait like 30 days Before you can get your job back? Let me reapply to my position. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:47 Like, y'all, it was wildin'. I was wildin'. Y'all know that with this deal we closed, we got to find like new ways to be fake humble. Do it.
Starting point is 02:00:03 Yeah. New ways or can we just be where we've been no no we can't we have to find somebody already asked me what's my first purchase

Starting point is 02:00:34 I'm going to change mine. I'm going to keep my number the same. Just so they know not to call me. I want niggas to know that I'm not answering. Oh, you got it. Yeah, I'm that guy. I want you to know that. Yeah, no, that's my number. No, it's the same. I'm going to answer. Yeah, no, that's my number.

Starting point is 02:02:08 For that line? I'll be honest. No, that carried over to the next generation. I see you is very much still alive. I see you. I'm going to try it. Let me just let you know I'm going to try it. I'm not just abandoning that. I'm going to try it.

Listen, bro. I'm trying to get what you got. The fight, then the nigga be a loser. That's what I'm saying. You don't be trying to be nothing like him.
Starting point is 02:02:57 But you still throw it out there a little bit. You just pray they interrelate. I see you with wifey. Nah, nah. The number one is, is Yo it's your world It's your world That's how I know I'm dated It's never his world

Starting point is 02:06:25 No Ah, cause that sounds That shit is way too hard For Joe to be on there That's the one you want? No. Oh, because that sounds... That shit is way too hard for Joe to be on that. Niggas was not sending me the single. No, that's the one with the Gucci. Not Joey. No, but that shit is hard. I'm going to play because Payne's been on the roll.
Starting point is 02:06:41 Payne's been on the roll, and it answers my question I've been asking. God damn, Payne's the GOAT, nigga. Let's do it. He's doing it, so shout out to him. Word. Show. All right, well, I think it's time to get into our announcement. No?
Starting point is 02:06:57 Announcement! Oh, wait a minute. I got more appreciation to give Now I don't know More appreciation I think maybe I want to appreciate us first Pause Okay
Starting point is 02:07:11 Thank you you're welcome Does that even go together? The same person you're welcome Yeah sure Thank you you're welcome Okay Thank you you're welcome See you make it awkward
Starting point is 02:07:23 Because now I don't really know how to appreciate you Okay my bad Like how Okay so I don't thank you And you you're welcome see you make it awkward because now I don't really know how to appreciate you okay my bad like how okay so I don't thank you and you're not welcome no come on come on be mushy with me guys
Starting point is 02:07:32 I don't even know you talking about I'm talking about our brotherhood we did it we did it we did it we are the champions
Starting point is 02:07:43 we are play the goddamn music yo y'all this is how we're gonna get sued We are the champions. We are. Play the goddamn music, Joe. This is how people plan your downfall. We're going to get sued. This is horrible. Hey. Are we going to get sued? No?
Starting point is 02:07:56 Hey. I run this shit, goddamn it. Hold up. Okay. I run this shit. Mic check, mic. Ian, get a hold of your client, please. I told you, niggas it's gonna be some gunshots
Starting point is 02:08:10 hold up god damn it oh man I miss that guy he's cancelled he was a good guy too at one point that guy is great listen guy. He's canceled. He's a good guy, too, at one point. Good guy. Great guy. That guy is great. That guy is great. Listen,
Starting point is 02:08:30 no. Alright, you know, I'm not starting with y'all. I'm starting with Complex. Wait, that's where we start on Memory Lane? Yuck. Yuck. Okay, and that's that for Complex. Alright.
Starting point is 02:08:44 Thank you. you're welcome. Moving right along, down memory lane. That was Complex on the left, ladies and gentlemen. That was a punch. It's fine. I was going to say. We weren't hiding this punch. We don't have to masquerade these things.
Starting point is 02:09:00 All right, so now, we won't start. We won't start with complex. Let me just start by saying I do have a major, major announcement coming at the tail of this. So if you're wondering why I'm getting into my Madonna speech, my Madonna speech bag. She got you some dreadlocks. That outfit she strutted out there. That was a strut, too. And she got that shit made at the beginning of Brooklyn.
Starting point is 02:09:28 They don't really make the dope bead African stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got nowhere to go. She got the Williamsburg dreads. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. That was a little wild. But I won't start with Complex, even though they played a really important part in all this. I'll start with Madi the body.
Starting point is 02:09:46 I'll start with Madi the body on this trip down memory lane. I want to shout out to Madi. Madi's great. Of course. Love you, Madi. I want to start with her exit. Boy, that was a rough time here. That was a rough time for this podcast.
Starting point is 02:10:02 Rory was calling me excessively. Was worried. But when Maddie left, because I won't spend too much time on the particulars, but when she left, that was a really big crossroads for this podcast.
Starting point is 02:10:16 Yeah. We were married to the prospect that we needed a girl. Well, I'll tell you why I was blowing your phone up so much, because that was at the heels of you were calling me a bad friend did oh no yeah well yeah i still thought that was handled badly but that's neither here nor there it was a long time ago it's here and there that was at the it's here and there it's here and there it's everywhere but continue that was also at the heels of the drake and I thought maybe we was the Drake cast now
Starting point is 02:10:45 and it was just a weird time for our podcast so I was blowing your phone up like we had a crossroads now of what the fuck are we gonna do that's what that's another reason part of why this is like sentimental to me most of my friends have been there to either not even either most of my friends have been there to see all of the bad shit yeah like all of my friends have been there
Starting point is 02:11:11 when like it was cycle time it was like cycle cycle time yeah some shit we can to talk about
Starting point is 02:11:18 on this podcast yeah at all so for niggas to still be around like when when it's glorious oh man and And me too. I'm saying me. I never want to go back to writing Only Human.
Starting point is 02:11:34 Singing Ganja Burn is way more fun. Come on. Ganja Burn, Ganja Burn, Ganja Burn. Yeah, no, I'm never going back. Niggas do Only Human on a... You worked on that note. Yeah, you practiced. That last... Yeah, you worked on that. going back. Niggas do all they want. You worked on that note. Yeah, you practiced. That last gunja.
Starting point is 02:11:46 Yeah, you worked on that. You killed it. That was better than last week. Go on, go on. I have a voice. Y'all just haters. You should rap. And have always been haters.
Starting point is 02:11:54 I would never. That's the thing about rapping. I would never rap. I would never, ever, ever, ever rap. Well, yeah, anyway, so we were at that Crossroads mall. You were just coming. You had been living in L.A., right? I was back and forth, yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:07 But you were more in New York at this time. Yeah. And there was some reason, there was some story that you wanted Maul to tell. I hadn't seen Maul in 17 years. Maul was in Detroit, too, for a little while. Maul was everywhere. Yeah, he was everywhere. Shout out to Detroit.
Starting point is 02:12:19 We brought him in like they do on Pose. You joined our house. We got to watch it so we can get in there with Joe. He would be mad at that one. When you see the show. But anyway, now me and Rory thought that we needed a girl. Yeah, that was our thought. So let's, yeah, because we got a lot to cover.
Starting point is 02:12:36 Because we were too, at that time, not now, we're very progressive. We were a bit misogynistic, so we needed that balance. We were. We needed that balance with our podcast to fill that void that Mahdi had. Somehow Maul came and provided some of that. I'm still confused by it. You're welcome.
Starting point is 02:12:55 More misogyny. No, because Maul, when Maul come in, he don't really say nothing. I'm still trying to figure out why people really like him. You're welcome. Maul's funny.
Starting point is 02:13:04 Maul's great. Maul's funny. He had's great. Maul's funny. He has good timing. He has a good point of view. I got to tell you, the love in this room is amazing. Your t-shirt says, stay out of uptown. Yeah, nigga. I love that shirt.
Starting point is 02:13:14 Yes. It's dangerous. You stay in wherever you live at where there's deer. Maul, you're a street hipster. No, I'm not. I told your mans to please make more burros with those shirts because I love those shirts. I actually... We're so off the...
Starting point is 02:13:31 We're supposed to be going down memory lane. Listen, we thought we needed a girl. Maul came. We didn't need a girl anymore. Maul fit our girl mode. Well, that's funny because I keep telling me I need a girl, but anyway. Maul fit our perfect girl role. Pause.
Starting point is 02:13:46 No, he came two weeks in a row and we had that conversation. I was like, nah, I think mall fits really well. Maybe we should just be the boys club.
Starting point is 02:13:55 I want to get to the fights. I don't care about the camaraderie. Who y'all got? Us or the Migos? Real quick. Us. Okay, cool. Go ahead.
Starting point is 02:14:03 As a trio? Yeah. I did like the Migos the other night at the VMA okay like i like that little light blue blouse no they dress better than us yeah that was well at least me and you that was maybe not better than more that was nice or y'all don't want to get into any of the bad no you just came all right i don't give a fuck about y'all i'll talk i'll talk without y'all listen it's real tough to do something for free for a long time. So when you do that, naturally, there are obstacles and there are hurdles. I guess I'm talking.
Starting point is 02:14:34 I'm in my creative bag right now. So I'll speak for me. Let me not try to include Rory and Maul for me right at the end of at the end of Rage in the Machine when it was when I was trying to figure out this this content game and the streaming thing and niggas was dropping three albums a year and as a lyricist you got to try to figure out how you're going to keep up like if you're going to play the game right I was in that and I was like yes I'm finally out of my deal I'm finally out of my deal. I'm finally out of my deal. I'm finally at the end of my career where I can maybe get out of my publishing deal.
Starting point is 02:15:12 You know. This was Rage or After All Have Lost? After Rage. Okay. This was After Rage. I was completely out of my all deals. So you was with me a lot back then. And I was going around. You knew I had a plan. I was focused. I had a lot back then, and I was going around.
Starting point is 02:15:25 You knew I had a plan. I was focused. I had a plan back then. It was much different than after All Love Lost. I'll tell you that much. Yeah. We was sitting in diners with execs going, hey, we got nothing.
Starting point is 02:15:37 Do y'all got something? It's a great place to sit down and have nothing. Oh, wait. you're right. I'm thinking about after all I've lost. Not after Raid. Yeah, I don't think after Raid. After all I've lost, I was out of my E1 contract, and this was before Raid. So I said, you know what?
Starting point is 02:15:53 I got some value to me. I'm going to run around, and I'm going to see what my value is at some of these new upstart labels that didn't exist back when I was originally shopping a deal. Like, everything was different. My publishing deal was different because they didn't respect the independent I was originally shopping a deal. Like, everything was different. My publishing deal was different because they didn't respect the independent game back in 2001, 2002. Everything was different. It's a whole new game, whole new rules,
Starting point is 02:16:12 whole new boundaries, everything, right? So I'm going in and around, and I'm trying to see what my value is to bring a project somewhere. And the number I was being told, and I'm going to talk numbers a little bit here on this rant. The number I was being told was I was worth $250,000. As someone who's like been around for a little while, I couldn't figure out how they came up with that number.
Starting point is 02:16:39 So I thought it was just one place until I spoke to multiple places. They all are using the same system whatever the system is right because they all told me that my worth was about 250,000 as an independent know your worth king them wasn't sexy well after you made the I want to kill myself album yeah it was around 250,000 I wasn't the I Want to Kill Myself album. Yeah, it was around 250,000. I wasn't being supported in that I Want to Kill Myself album.
Starting point is 02:17:10 And that was a problem that I faced a lot in my career. And that's just some artist shit. You put an album out, you got to see how it does, and now you're faced with leveraging however that did, and not often are they going to really
Starting point is 02:17:22 try to see that do what it could've done no right no when I brought your album cover in they said you're trying to kill a baby on the album cover
Starting point is 02:17:30 I was like yeah yeah yeah we are yeah it was art it was art right so when all these people told me 250,000
Starting point is 02:17:38 that wasn't so sexy and then we ended up over at Empire cause Empire is sexier than all these niggas and you actually get paid over there. 250 just wasn't.
Starting point is 02:17:48 I was confused. I was sad. I was depressed. I was a whole lot of shit and that's how you ended up hearing such a rejuvenated Joe on Raging Machine. Yeah. I was out to prove something on that project.
Starting point is 02:18:09 Where the hell am I going with this? I don't know. I think we were just on the- Oh, in retirement, in retirement, in retirement. 250,000. Moving from Rage to this. Independence. 250,000 from Independence.
Starting point is 02:18:18 When you're faced with shit like that and you find out that, oh, everybody's using some wild metric system that the artists are not even privy to, it's like, damn, really? I was fighting a good fight all of this time and y'all got some system and i'm fighting the fight and the fight is over because now it's streaming i gotta go learn that so i was trying to learn the streaming fight so we put raging machine out bong we went on
Starting point is 02:18:36 tour the chitlin circuit that was horrible boy that was depressing too it's all part of it yeah it's all part of it it's all part of the picture in hindsight in hindsight we can look back and say that but man when you gotta take
Starting point is 02:18:50 these gigs Mesa at these at these clubs Cleveland Mesa I'm just for shorts
Starting point is 02:18:58 for this low just this bullshit just it's not it's not fun it's not fun I'm saying that to say it's just not very much fun at that point you're going to try and figure out some other shit some other shit to get popping insert complex for me right but hold on joe before you but it's important that
Starting point is 02:19:16 you tell that part which part about the not so pretty shit the not so glad because people jesus people just see the end result. They don't see those moments and those days where it's like, you know what I mean? Like people think they could just do something
Starting point is 02:19:31 and I'm on, I'm lit. It's like, nah, you gotta go through a lot of bullshit to get to a certain point in your life
Starting point is 02:19:38 and your career. I'm shocked through all those times that Joe stayed consistent enough for us to do this, no, do this podcast every week. I'll be honest
Starting point is 02:19:47 when we started this podcast when we got to week 25 that was a milestone for me. I was like I can't believe Joe did 25 of these episodes consistently.
Starting point is 02:19:55 Well this is therapy for you. During that time. This is terrible. It is. You've always been a talker. Oh the podcast you're talking about? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:20:03 This is therapy for you so you will invest in this because this is something that you control, something that you can say and be free on and create this platform. So you investing in this, it wasn't a big shock to me. You've been this person before this was even around. Yeah, you've been this person. So this is just, again, part of the plan. But go ahead
Starting point is 02:20:32 what was i saying rewind a little bit about uh now you're going into complex insert complex oh man and this is why i have ian here today i have ian here today now you say some shit ahead of the curve sometimes and you just just sound really, really, really nuts. Let me pick my words carefully here. Coming away from music, right, with that whole $250,000 shit, even in my music career, it was never really about the money. I was never rich from music. Right. It was always enough to do another project and sometimes as an artist that's really all you're looking for enough for another shot right so you can get it popping so
Starting point is 02:21:10 we go into this we go into complex and i'm not gonna spend too much time talking about them but boy am i grateful for that entire experience it taught me so much gave me so much information that i would need to apply moving forward but we get there and i've been trying to get us a bag for this fucking podcast for years yo let me just fucking keep it a bean man yeah gotta grow it yo i so many instances i haven't even told told like y'all about where i was trying to get us our fucking just due. I don't want to hear Nicki talking that foot of creator's bullshit down the streets when I've been fighting this fucking good fight for this long.
Starting point is 02:21:50 I don't want to hear that shit. It's like insulting almost. Like some niggas have really worn the stripes and the scars of fighting this here fight. I wear them shits proudly. Because the same shit that's getting us all these amazing accolades today. Is the same shit that made niggas try to get me the fuck out of here about 90 times. That's not lost on me.
Starting point is 02:22:15 So when we get to Complex and this podcast is popping and I can feel it. You can feel it in the streets. That's the difference between science art niggas and art niggas. Art is a feeling. It's not science. Listen here, I can't dance for shit. One night I was talking to a woman that could dance and she was trying to teach me how to dance. And the first thing she said is, stop thinking.
Starting point is 02:22:43 Don't think. Let your body do whatever the fuck it's feeling. And the first thing she said is, stop thinking. Don't think. Let your body do whatever the fuck it's feeling. And that is dancing. That's step one. Wow, it was genius. Kind of the same principles they tell you about when they tell you your dog can swim and your babies can swim. All of that shit, right?
Starting point is 02:23:04 That lost my fucking point again. Where was I going going it was that complex and you had a feeling that we was popping oh so I'm trying to get us a bag I'm talking to Ian every day hours and hours and hours what do we do
Starting point is 02:23:15 how do we do it y'all know I assess over this shit and granted we had little bags here and there that weren't much I wouldn't even use the terminology bag. Yeah. Those are zip locks.
Starting point is 02:23:28 Those are zip locks. It was like a bread bag. Like a bread bag. But at the time, when you have overhead expenses of a studio and a camera guy and just commuting to the studio and all these other factors, sometimes you want to take them.
Starting point is 02:23:43 Yeah. Agree. But we felt like it affected our content and our listeners, and we felt that we were on this really great path, and that would just hinder it, because we looked at the bigger picture. But boy, was that picture long. It was a big picture. It was a big picture, and I'll be honest, it took me a while to really sit down and
Starting point is 02:24:03 think about it and step back and say, I get it. I understand. So you got to take losses before you can count your wins. You know what I mean? A lot of times, like I said,
Starting point is 02:24:11 people don't see the down times. All people see is the ups and that's all they remember you for is the ups. You know what I'm saying? But you got to sit back and understand, which is why when,
Starting point is 02:24:21 you know, it was other podcasts that we were kind of going back and forth with and they were throwing shots we took a lot of shots because of what we were not accepting
Starting point is 02:24:29 and what we were walking away from and what we were like nah this is the goal this is what we're trying to do we knew in house
Starting point is 02:24:35 we knew what we were trying to do y'all ain't gotta know why we're not taking sponsors why we're not taking that bum ass
Starting point is 02:24:43 poor ass ad like no we ain't sacrificing the content to take the fucking 3500 bag no we took that bag enough and rap yeah you think we're about to leave rap and take it creators a reoccurring theme throughout this rant for me is uh the art of not knowing like it's an art to not knowing and if you embrace that shit you'll get so much information number one number two the art of saying no boy is there art to it it's power in it oh my god i'm telling y'all that leaving rap i was depressed and suicidal suicidal and broke and did not want to enter my 40s that way. At 36, I felt I was behind
Starting point is 02:25:29 a little bit. Let me tell you how I feel like the universe speaks to me. Bong, we get to fucking complex. The show is a hit fast. I look at act. I say, you've never been in this position, but niggas can easily fuck up a hit. It happens all the time. More times than it works. It happens all the time. More times than it works. It happens all the time.
Starting point is 02:25:46 Way more times than it works. Hey, there's a lot of hits that y'all never heard. Yeah. Didn't get to y'all. Didn't make it that far. I told them that. A month in, the show is a huge fucking success. Stupid ass Ian and me.
Starting point is 02:26:01 Just stuck in our own fucking ideas. I wanted to bring my entire operation to one place that was my thinking i mean it could make sense but i didn't want to be spread out right i'm making it easier when you go to one place, if you're confident in that place, a creative could really get busy. Get in there. Let's do it. So if you bring a hit, you figure, listen, at the record labels, you bring a hit, they want the next one. You bring a hit, they want another one. They always want the hit.
Starting point is 02:26:35 Yeah, so just bring your whole pretty beat in-house. I get it. So very early on, I'd send Ian in there like a madman to say, hey, nigga, this is a hit. Let's bring the network. What does that network consist of? Let's start a podcast network now. Now. Not later.
Starting point is 02:26:55 Now. Shit, we had a list of podcasts that we wanted to start already at that time. They were so corporate and arrogant. They said, oh. They said, oh. Which is what corporate people are they said why don't you bring us bring us an idea of what you're thinking you know they said that i try to be ahead of the play i call act i say act i know you don't know
Starting point is 02:27:18 shit about shit just trust me and listen me and you are going to start a podcast. Me and you. That's one podcast. Add it to my podcast. That's two podcasts. Add it to the audio of Everyday Struggles, three podcasts. And then I'm going to go maybe call Gilbert Arenas and get a podcast. And then that's four podcasts. And then we're going to kill.
Starting point is 02:27:39 I won't get into the details of how I thought we were going to kill, but it was a kill. He said no. He said, nah, nah. Nope, won't do it. Not really thinking that. Fine. Fast forward two or three years later, he's doing a live podcast,
Starting point is 02:27:55 him, Adam 22, and fucking Sony Hall or wherever that was, a one-off, a quick one-off he did. Let me get a round of applause for Ack. Nobody listens to Joe. Nobody listens to Joe. Nobody listens to fuck. I told Ack I was going to welcome him to be a millionaire. He fucking didn't listen at all.
Starting point is 02:28:10 Fine. Ian walks in there and pitches the network of four podcasts. The podcast I just named may be written on a paper somewhere. They laughed this nigga out the room. Thank you. For. Shout out to Complex. Word.
Starting point is 02:28:29 For fucking it up. But we would have had this podcast then. What I'm saying is it didn't take much to see. Right. And still. Laughed them out of here. They laughed them out of here.
Starting point is 02:28:45 They laughed them out of here. I won't even get into the particulars of numbers but for four podcasts we weren't asking for very much to bring the entire operation to complex. Creators, I'm back to not really having information. The only
Starting point is 02:29:01 reason that didn't happen is because they laughed it out of there. That's important to note. I would have done it in rb like a fucking dodo right thank you complex fast forward we leave complex i leave well no not we i leave i leave complex i am fired from complex let go uh disgruntled employee. Easy picture to paint of Joe Budden. I'm familiar with that picture. I thought, damn it, I blew it again. I fucking blew it.
Starting point is 02:29:32 I blew it. I joked it. I joked it. The people were with me. No, no, honestly, let me stop joking. Let me speed up this timeline. I leave there. We get a call from everybody in the universe, starting with Barstool.
Starting point is 02:29:50 Right, Ian? Am I off? That's correct. Barstool first. No, we were talking to all deaf first. At some point, that fell through. Not because of us. We would have did it.
Starting point is 02:30:01 Maybe, if it was right. That's correct. Let down. Still unemployed. That's correct. Let down. Still unemployed. Retired rapper. Broke. Podcasting for free. For free.
Starting point is 02:30:14 And y'all wasn't the greatest at that time. Oh, man. You guys have been rough along the journey. I'll tell you that. Oh, we've been rough. Yeah, you guys have been really rough. Us. We've been rough. Gotcha.
Starting point is 02:30:23 Barstool called with a really, really, really nice offer that didn't include the podcast. It did. I mean, I don't know if I told you guys about this. We spoke about it. But it did. Fell through. Thank you. The other one that I won't name, we all wanted to do that deal.
Starting point is 02:30:42 That's a fact. We all, boy, that one really almost, fact we all boy that one really almost that was the divide almost oh that was when you were acting funny ah come on we were acting oh yeah yeah yeah come on come on let me turn this up a little bit no it wasn't acting funny y'all was treating me bad no y'all thought yo let me talk to the listeners out there it was a point there was a point during the podcast, I think y'all thought I was trying to keep us from the bag. No, it wasn't that you was trying to keep us from the bag.
Starting point is 02:31:12 The three of us was just not on the same page. I think we skipped a week, if viewers can go back. That was because the three of us were screaming at each other in the face in the parking lot of the old spot. There's been some rough times between us. Creators, got gotta get by the creative differences true that's important especially when it's amongst friends oh no no no especially like that's the biggest hurdle when you're dealing with your friends because business and friends
Starting point is 02:31:41 are a very hard thing to mess up because not only when you go in business with your friends, can you not only fuck up the business because of your friendship, fuck up your friendship because of the business. So you guys can continue on and just ruin both, or just break off and be like, all right, let's just be friends. Yeah. It's a really thing you have to split and figure out how this is going to work. Because at some point, you're going to be in a parking lot
Starting point is 02:32:03 screaming at each other in the face. Oh, absolutely. That deal only did not get done because of creative differences. Just a difference in approach and the way things should be done. I thought that podcasting should be like an everyday thing.
Starting point is 02:32:22 I didn't think podcasting was something that should be staggered for a week after it's recorded. That's my own opinion and belief and I was willing to stand by that. For free. Especially for our podcast. For free. And the creative differences he's talking about is the certain people we were dealing with.
Starting point is 02:32:38 Not us. We all agreed that this needs to come out every single week and it can't be staggered. That's not how we operate. Other podcasts can do that. We can't do that. We have to be every single Wednesday we need to be there. That's how we built this podcast. That's why it's consistent. Well, it's consistent because we're consistent. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:32:53 That's how you build a fan base. I was telling Ian that I wanted to assess the entire landscape and really get all of the information before there was ever any decisions made i remember i was talking to larry jackson a little bit about everyday struggle i was shopping everyday struggle everywhere like when i left oh i was everywhere they was larry jackson gave me a timid vibe
Starting point is 02:33:18 i left there as a creative a timid vibe scares me i can't really get in there I mean you can't I can't get funny how and this is my own shit that I obsess over funny how so many so many things that you that you uh so many things that you learn as a recovering addict or just a drug nigga in the streets are applicable when you get in this corporate game it's the only way I'm able to sense the bullshit on some of the corporate guys. Like, an addict could sense some shit. Absolutely. An addict is going to tell you when something is really wrong,
Starting point is 02:33:55 and he's perfect at that shit. Some of these instances that Ian and I walked into, it wasn't much to go off to say, whoa, alarm, everything's wrong here abort do not sign this will go left fast one of them companies sent us a contract they didn't even tell us how much we was gonna make it was just a whole bunch of clauses if you do if you do xyz abcde you might D.E. You might get this bullshit. Like a lot of slaps in the face. You fucking right.
Starting point is 02:34:30 I'm saying my fucking. So I'll I'll let the cat out the bag. I'll let the cat out the bag I'll let the cat out the bag So the other week When I hit Nikki For the interview I hit her because In my partnership We thought it might be
Starting point is 02:34:53 A good idea to hit her And that's when she said no Right And I'm really bad At industry games Right So then when she doubled back With the tweeting of the text And the, hey, what did you
Starting point is 02:35:06 think? I do your radio show, blah, blah, blah. It was a little weird. And I immediately hit the group chat to say to you guys, what? I don't think I should take it. I'm not into games. I don't know what's going on. It's feeling a little shaky out there. And we don't want
Starting point is 02:35:22 to be the moment podcast. I never want to be the moment podcast. I never want to be the moment podcast. I was talking about those shit. I was like, yeah, it'll be cool, but that's not what we was built on. That's not why people like us. We're not the place that people go for those moments. We are who we are.
Starting point is 02:35:37 I guess I'm just most proud of the fact that we stood firm. On the know. We stood firm on our nose to everybody and they and they all called and all looked at us kind of nuts sometimes steve stout no shit i told puff no two times before i told him yes barstool serious no all of them no no no no no no we know what the value of this is and we and we know what we're doing out there and we're not sellouts and we're not here for the money. It's not a money play. Let me get into the shit. And it's I'm not forgetting.
Starting point is 02:36:12 You're going along a good timeline right now. Keep going. Keep going. And I'm not even really getting into it because I'm going to get into it at another time because this is I'm too busy celebrating to really give too much light to all the other factors and the people that played a part. But I would like to thank everybody. I would like to thank, I would like to thank every single person that has played a part in this because we're back. Because without them, we have no value.
Starting point is 02:36:43 Oh yeah. We, we listen, man, hitting the road and doing these shows. I always tell y'all, you know, The listeners especially. Because without them, we have no value. Oh, yeah. Listen, man. Hitting the road and doing these shows, I always tell y'all, you know, when we're alone, it's so humbling. So to the listeners, to the viewers, to the supporters, we can't thank y'all enough, man. It's still, this is incredible. It's incredible to watch.
Starting point is 02:37:03 It's incredible to be a part of. And again, sometimes I might have lost for words, but it's a real humbling thing for people to really grow with you and stick with you through a lot of ups and downs and still be there to support you. Stick with us while you're trying to fucking figure it out. Stick with you while you have no idea what you're doing. You're still trying to plan it your damn self. Stick with you long enough, long enough for the plan to map out.
Starting point is 02:37:29 Let me tell you, that was a fear I dealt with a lot. Damn, this podcast is killing. How do we kill for this amount of time until we are able
Starting point is 02:37:38 to do what we got to do? That shit is tough. Right. Yeah, it's hard to figure out. Yeah, how do we go into a deal with the peak? Yeah. And we didn't want to miss our window. That was the important thing. Well, that was the scariest part figure out. How do we go into a deal with the peak? Yeah. And we didn't want to
Starting point is 02:37:45 miss our window. That was the important thing. Well, that was the scariest part for me every time we had one of those opportunities. Yeah. I hope we're just not at a
Starting point is 02:37:53 space where this is, they liked us for this point. Yeah. And now they're not fucking with us. I had that fight with Ian a lot too. Like, damn, Ian, are we
Starting point is 02:38:01 missing the ball by just not selling high? No, that was our, that was our everyday fight was what the fuck are you doing with the podcast Ian see I think that's the part that's missed I don't think Maul and Rory know how much
Starting point is 02:38:13 you and I have fought over just a free piece of real estate for three years everyday it takes a lot to sit here and do this shit for free Like you said It costs money It costs studio money
Starting point is 02:38:26 It costs Uber money It costs pizza money And fucking chip money You know what I'm saying Well I can't believe The heartbreaking part is that There were offers on the table Right
Starting point is 02:38:36 Had there been no offers There's no fight Because then it's Alright keep working Until you get somewhere And at no point Have we ever been able To come on
Starting point is 02:38:44 Or have we ever come on the air and sat and talked to niggas about offers. We've never done it. We've always been so behind the scenes in how we how that happens. Which you kept saying to us like you're not just as excited as me and I'm because there's been so many
Starting point is 02:39:00 offers and so many times where there was a high for this podcast and then it didn't work out. I've just taught myself not to get excited so i've kind of just been like all right this is cool until that shit pop up no no we know no no i know it's done now but we until i see it it's like all right i've i've gotten excited before i've put eggs all in one basket and then just been pissed. For sure. I think we all have. Yeah, that's probably my advice to people. Don't be excited.
Starting point is 02:39:31 I know it sounds cynical. Just don't get excited. You might get let down. It might not work out. And that'll affect you moving forward. So just take it as an opportunity and keep it moving. I'm scared for you. forward so just take it as an opportunity and keep it moving oh this is my shit right here i'm not allowed to play this this one it's great i'm sorry stevie i'm sorry stevie i'm sorry i'm not used to
Starting point is 02:39:58 this corporate corporate backing thing all right so listen Let's get right to the shit. Starting in... When are we starting? From the negotiation? September 12th. Starting from this. Yeah, I'm ready to get to the shit. I ain't enough of this sentimental, boys. It's time to work. That's the mistake I made when I got a record deal.
Starting point is 02:40:19 A mistake a lot of people make. They get a record deal and think that's when it's time to party. No, bitch. It's time to work. The work starts now. I feel like the grimy dusty nigga that's been standing outside the club for a long time hitting hitting the promoter come on i'm out here it's raining tapping your man saying nah he just texted me back yeah yeah we only ever hear those stories from women but the niggas be outside hitting the promoter sometimes. Yeah, more men. I don't do that ever since I got really cool
Starting point is 02:40:49 with Rory. I walk right in. I walk right into whatever spot is popping out there. And not the front. We going through the side entrance. That's true, and that's not because of my pump it up card either. No, that's not. Maul. You right. You don't really respect Pump It Up
Starting point is 02:41:05 No you right You my man How he supposed to Don't do that Rory No I like the song But like how is he supposed to He's supposed to respect Pump It Up I respect Pump It Up
Starting point is 02:41:14 What you talking about Before we get into this announcement Cause I'm about to make this announcement Listen man Fuck all that man We here We gonna be here for a while Y'all better get used to it
Starting point is 02:41:25 We backed By a major Major big home Oh yeah You bitch ass niggas And they're letting me do the what? Oh yeah Wait
Starting point is 02:41:35 No that's important They're not trying to corporate me out Right That's very important Yeah Very important For now Oh well for now
Starting point is 02:41:43 For now For now All for that Let me add to that for now All well for now for now all for that let me add to that for now all liability is on me that's important so I mean if something goes
Starting point is 02:41:54 awry it's probably my fault sorry buddy people probably expect that anyway I don't give a fuck starting September 12th we will be up to two episodes a week.
Starting point is 02:42:11 Oh, yeah. Starting September 12th, two episodes per week dropping, I want to say, Wednesday, one Wednesday, one Saturday.
Starting point is 02:42:20 If I'm married to that, I think I am. Saturday is sexy. Yeah. Niggas be beat on Saturday, I think I am. Saturday is sexy. Niggas be beat on Saturday, man. You laying in bed. You ain't doing shit. You're not trying to talk to your girl. And the winter coming. You're going to be chilling. You can do some yard work
Starting point is 02:42:36 maybe if you're somewhere where there's yards. Where there's yards? That's a white boy bag talking. You don't do your yard. Hell no. All right then. So you don't know nothing about a yard work on Saturday.
Starting point is 02:42:49 On Thursdays, the landscapers come and hedge. Hedge. What the fuck? They come and hedge. They be mad at me when I want them to hedge some extra shit too. You know you live in a nice area when you use words like hedge. Yo fam, the walk walkway Man trees and bushes They like
Starting point is 02:43:05 That's adult They can never understand What I'm saying No we hedge uptown too We just get a crackhead To do everything Yo spray the sidewalk My G
Starting point is 02:43:13 My G Two episodes a week Starting September 12th Wednesday and Saturday Hit my gunshot Audio exclusive Damn September 12th, Wednesday and Saturday. Hit my gunshot. Audio exclusive. Damn, where's my fucking breaking news?
Starting point is 02:43:32 I don't know if I can play the breaking news thing. Audio exclusive on Spotify only. Audio. Well, y'all heard me. Something else is real important in there Ian no no get out of here Ian you don't need to chime in so fucking soon let me tell you some of the things that were
Starting point is 02:43:53 important to me can I pop the champagne yet we said Spotify already let me put Ron Brown's name in the fucking search engine here let me get this thing really jumping the way it's supposed to go. I thought Parks just popped a bottle of Asti Tumanti. No, no, Asti Tumanti.
Starting point is 02:44:11 Martini and Rossi, Asti Tumanti. We are so cool. Niggas let Ron Brow get away with that Ether boy shit and way too many records. Ether is super trash, by the way, but good. People are still on my mentions arguing that Ether was a fucking amazing classic record. Ether is terrible. Ron Brown wanted all of us to know that he made Ether.
Starting point is 02:44:28 Yeah. How he add that to his alias? Ether boy. He got changed. Where's Ron Brown? I think he was there on Saturday.
Starting point is 02:44:38 I wouldn't be surprised. No, I'm serious. If Ron Brown was there. Ron, hit me, man. He was there at one Palooza he was at with Webstar they was all there on stage next to you
Starting point is 02:44:48 I fuck with Ron listen some of the things that were important to me we needed to figure out how to not tax y'all that was the biggest part that straight to consumer thing that was an option for a little while those were conversations we were having you know we were talking about that straight-to-consumer thing.
Starting point is 02:45:06 I wouldn't have been able to sleep right taxing the fans for it. So it's important to note Spotify is free. That was important to me. Spotify is free. What else is important? You can subscribe if you don't want to hear the ads. It was important to me to see you got to know where your value is in this new subscription model game, man.
Starting point is 02:45:26 Mine was, and even though I know our fans are extremely loyal and I do love them. This time we'll include you. Come on, Maul. It had to be an easy transition because sometimes if we did that. Look at me and my hands. Thank you, guys, man. Oh, man. Subtle reminders of Keith.
Starting point is 02:45:43 Let me hit the round. Appreciate y'all. Appreciate y'all Appreciate y'all Well yeah We wanted to make it A simple process Because if we did this Trade to consumer Sometimes you gotta
Starting point is 02:45:51 Get weird apps And it just gets fucked up And then people just Don't even want to listen At that point It just makes it A very difficult transition For fans
Starting point is 02:45:59 It had to have been A weird fucking third party Up and coming situation And sometimes that's not worth it Even if maybe the money is more, it just fucks with your fans and that's the last people you want to piss off.
Starting point is 02:46:09 Right. Yeah, I'm real happy that we lasted this long without diluting the content. We did it our way. We didn't take the ads. And it still won't be. We didn't sacrifice shit.
Starting point is 02:46:20 And we're still, yeah, man. Let's keep it. This is just great on so many different levels I'm having some conversations now To see what we can do With this whole sleeper thing
Starting point is 02:46:30 Like enough is enough To everyone that you know Called us a little podcast Toast Laugh at us for not taking a little Yeah Little money You know little checks here and there This one's for you man We appreciate you Laugh at us for not taking a little money,
Starting point is 02:46:46 you know, little checks here and there. This one's for you, man. We appreciate you. I still missed a little cash app money. Let's get a couple weeks. My cash app is from... My cash app is still valid. My cash app is still the same. They know it because they're still hitting me requesting shit.
Starting point is 02:47:01 They're like, yo, I need 500 on the shrimp. You get 500. I've gotten like some 2,500 with like a sad story about their life. I'm serious. Oh, you're still getting those?
Starting point is 02:47:13 The sad stories about life? I think they, because the white thing, they think maybe I'd fall for it. Do you fall for it? White people fall for that shit. Yeah, we do.
Starting point is 02:47:22 Do you fall for it? I don't know. What else do we have to know? Twice a week, the sleeper shit we'll get into. Did we say who we're
Starting point is 02:47:30 down with? We are with Spotify. We retain ownership. I only mention that to let niggas know that I'm still with the shit. YouTube will still be
Starting point is 02:47:44 the same. Correct? YouTube, YouTube will still be the same, correct? YouTube, we will still be releasing on YouTube 48 hours after our initial fucking Spotify release. So that's two times a week on YouTube for the video, twice a week on Spotify for the audio. And again, we're going to lose this gig. Most importantly. Most important part of this. This won't last. Good luck.
Starting point is 02:48:16 I say all of that to say we have arrived. We are here. Artists, y'all niggas with your little diss tracks, do it again. I'm wiping your whole discography off of Spotify. We have the codes. We have the codes. Yo, I'm working with different metrics now, my G. Right, watch your mouth.
Starting point is 02:48:38 I'm not playing the bar games with y'all. Watch your mouth. Y'all will wake up and just have never existed. Watch your mouth. Fucking lie. Watch your mouth. So, it's important. Nobody want to tell the truth.
Starting point is 02:48:56 Nah, that's the part. So, it's important that you niggas play nice. Listen, we're here to be friends. All of us. We are very friendly outfit over here at the Joe Budden Podcast. Budden, how did we hear? Relax.
Starting point is 02:49:12 Let's keep it cute. Watch your mouth. Twice. Come on, Ian. Talk some shit with us, man. Well, guys. Look at Ian with our next steps will be our best steps. I'm not writing an email.
Starting point is 02:49:27 We have lawyers now, too. No email. No email. This is going to be fucking great. And you guys are incredible. And the whole journey has been amazing. Everything about what you guys do reminds me of a better version of the Howard Stern show. And I'm dedicated the way I'm sure everyone else is.
Starting point is 02:49:45 So I'm happy for you guys. I'm happy for all of us. And I know Spotify and us are going to take a really incredible journey. Yeah, and that's the point. We thank Spotify, man, because they're stepping out and taking a chance on something that they obviously believe in. So we got a special thank you to the people at Spotify because for sure that's important. Oh, no, got a special thank you to the people at Spotify because
Starting point is 02:50:05 for sure, that's important. Oh no, wait a minute. Let me tell you niggas that Spotify ain't playing. They left a very nice food spread
Starting point is 02:50:14 at our photo shoot. Oh, we got cheese and crackers. Yep. It was healthy. Craft beers. Salad. Some wine.
Starting point is 02:50:20 It was a salad there. Fruit. It was good. We were rather pampers at Spotify during our photo shoot. I felt good. I felt like I made Pump It Up that day. That day.
Starting point is 02:50:30 That day you came right out the booth. Yo, it's the one. No, I do want to thank Spotify. I do want to thank Spotify. Because, listen, it's tough. It's tough. Listen, we've been to a lot of these pitch meetings. You know, creators know how it is.
Starting point is 02:50:43 But when you get somebody who you think might get it a little bit or who's at least willing to support your crazy fucking lunacy i appreciate that i appreciate it don't tell them too much about you i appreciate everyone who has been there to support me throughout my lunacy so let's keep keep that date keep that date in order september 12th.
